twenty twenty four Hall of Fame ballotfor Major League Baseball. The Rockets fall
to the Warriors, Eagles beat theChiefs in Monday night football. Seawan Trapley,
(00:52):
Good morning Demigo. Ryans spoke tothe media yesterday mentions in the running
for the Coach of the Year.C J. Stroud MVP nods it's crazy
too early early for all that.Yeah, this is bull driving. It's
not really too early to talk aboutit, but just too early to be
if you fear them too early tothink about it too early as and in
(01:15):
the morning, think yeah, you'renot thinking no, want to come on,
dog, you don't We're dogs.You feel me? Yeah, we're
tight. We are tired mouse nuts. I will give you that. Here's
an interesting question. It's really notwhat that interesting. It's not really that
interesting, but I will say thisto you. Yeah, is why it
(01:36):
mean it's too early for them toaddress it, isn't it? No halfway
so they should start talking about Playerof the Year, I mean Coach of
the Year at m v P.Yeah, not us, they sho start
thinking about Yeah. Man, no, got asked a question, and no,
I'm not saying there's a problem withthe question being asked. My thing
is I just they I don't knowanybody maybe at least on the outside,
(02:00):
that would change a playoff win ormoving on in the playoffs for the Coach
of the Year. It's a greataward, and I'm only kidding. Obviously
it's not too easy because that's whatwe do or at this time year,
midway point, who's your MVP,who's your coach year? And both of
those guys Jumiquin Stroud are involved inthat conversation, and it's pretty interesting.
I wonder how often a guy's gonefrom the assistant coach of the Year to
(02:24):
the head coach of the year.Because Demico won Assistant Coach of the Year
last year when he was in SanFrancisco. Yeah, I know, it's
called the Frank Broyles Award I believein in college football. I'm not sure
other than the Assistant Coach of theYear what the awards called in the NFL.
But the this is a I can'tremember the last time, maybe the
(02:44):
playoffs against Kansas City that in thistown for me, I'm not speaking for
everybody else, but in this town, for me, I can't remember when
I was more and that was playoffs? Was more? Is jacked up antis
painting. I know it's Thanksgiving.A lot of people got a lot of
things going on, but the elephantin the room for me, Thanksgiving's ready.
(03:07):
I'm ready to do that. Theelephant in the room is Sunday when
you wake up, no one didyour Thanksgiving weekend. And this team's real
and they've got a chance to solidifythat with a with a win over a
team that quite frankly, not onlyshould they beat and can beat. I
(03:27):
fully expect them to win it thisweekend. I do. I'm at that
point, so I'm really looking forwardto it, and I have not in
ten years of living in this townanticipated thinking about going to a game more
the one I did go to fora half it was like, Okay,
I'll just go this one. Iactually am thinking do I want to be
(03:52):
a part of it? Do Iwant to go to this or watch it
at home? And part of methinks that the tailgate's going to be off
the his hook. You know whatthe his hook is? Yeah, it's
like off the meat rack, thankyou and good night. Yes, so
I'm strongly considering it. I gottickets being there like seven thirty in the
morning. Well, oh, whodo you think? Come on, dude,
I'm just saying, you know, not for us, for you,
(04:13):
for your minions. No, no, for your minions. I'm kidding with
you. I'm a minion, dude. We're all being really, are we
No, we're not. We're abovethe minions here, we are. Yeah,
I'm gonna say they just guys beingdudes. Yeah, right, Usually
that requires right. It's like, you know, like you know you and
your your your teammates, when y'alljust got done, you know, when
(04:36):
the uh Vikings got you. Guysgot done beating the Lions a division matchup,
you got hop on a plane you'repassing around beers having a good time
right with the poles, And yeah, well we don't smoke some bars on
planes anymore because you're not allowed todo that. The days of smoking on
a plane, In case you hadn'tnoticed, we don't do that anymore.
Damn. My favorite was if youset in row twenty eight, you can
(04:59):
smoke a cigarette, you say inrow twenty you can't, as if you're
not getting secondhand smoke back in theday anyway, Hey, what are you
saying? And well, the smokewon't bother you fifteen rows away. Sure,
it won't go to somebody's house who'sa smoker. It lives in the
friggin couch. It's never going away. You're like, this is five people
removed from They've sold it five times, this house, and the smell is
still stuck in the walls. Smoker'shouses never goes away. No, trust
(05:21):
me, I've been in them, and you you know, relatives, it
doesn't go away. It's in whatthey used to call the couch, the
divan. These they stuck in thecouch on that thing that your grandma used
to put, you know, thelittle throw over the back of the couch.
It was crocheted yes, smells likecigarettes. Yeah, that's what That's
what happens on the plane too.But we don't smoke anymore on the plane
(05:42):

look at those tickets? Yes,okay, mere minions, right, mere
mortals? No, well, theminion means you're far from being a mere
well yeah, you know. Thetruth is, if you're a mere mortal,
you probably are a minion. It'sthe immortal ones that aren't minion,
(06:28):
you know, they just live foreverand they're above all of us. Yeah,
of course makes sense. But we'rejust people. Yeah, right,
I mean we buy tickets like everybodyelse, we do, Sure do.

over the weekend. JJ Watt.Of course we know JJ Watt is Sandard
for the ticket. Yeah, forfor sellouts. Yeah, he wants sellouts
and we'll get free tickets. Wehave to pay form. We'll probably have
(06:53):
to pay for them. Actually,no from you. No, I mean,
come on, I would like toattend Sunday, but you don't want
to pay three bills for a tick. Well, let's see. Let's where
do you want to sit? Youwant to sit fifty yard line Texans Sideline.
Let's check it out. I don'tever want to sit lower than row
twenty. You know why pack helmetscan't see higher the it's that lows area
(07:16):
where you can look down on theon the play in case somebody's got a
suite that's got really i mean highprice that wants to invite us into it.
How about section one oh seven.Yeah, that's a forty five yard
line on the Texans Sideline Road whow Road. So does it go a
B C D that way up tow W High. It's a B C
(07:36):
D's nuts these nuts where uh huhuh do they just kind of do you
just kind of they just falling? It's like a sudden You're you're laying around
all said, they just land onyour forehead. Now that goes, doesn't
It just doesn't happen, right,No, it doesn't happen. This isn't
This isn't nineteen ninety one, whenyou and your boys are on the plane
(07:56):
play the Bears. Why do youalways have everything? Because or knows what
happens? That's a private golf club, men's oldie okay, where you do,
like hey, playing golf at barefeet and walking around the pro shop
naked, playing cards? Right, okay, playing Gin? Listen for a
second, Yes, Gin was GinRummy? Talk about an old person's game.
(08:18):
Hey, you, whenever I thinkabout Jen Rummy, I think about
my four grandparents sit at the tableplaying Jen Rummy for hours, drinking coffee.
And then after that, maybe alittle vodka, you know what I'm
saying, Maybe a little is itmathuse wine the old school cheap wine too
for the adults. Here's an interestingquestion that's not really that interesting. So
do you think? Okay, soit starts again a a B bright w
(08:48):
is Well, I'm usually being Imean, listen for you people who said
to this, I'm usually down onthe field. Dude, I'm usually down
there looking up at your guys,up at your you know, up your
the peasants, the mere peasants.Right, yeah, okay, I was
talking. I'm gonna leave one ofmy PGA tour friends out of it.
(09:11):
He's got a great crib. Itold you. I think I told you
that he needs it for fun. He's got an optop about a beautiful spread
in Arizona. And it looks Imean, it's the last house on the
top of this hill and it's ait's a monster, right, and it's
beautiful the view everything. I said, uh uh, let's say I asked
him. He goes, I said, so what do you uh? I
(09:33):
said, well, so what doyou stare down at before? What do
you stare down at from your home? He goes, everybody, what are
you staring? I mean, whatare you staring down at? From me?
Everybody? Yeah, just being awife beating. He's not lying and
he wasn't lying. You know whathe's saying? What big facts? Yeah?
(09:54):
Oh yeah, it's a flex correctquestion. No, but yeah,
okay, get back to the wordW one oh seven dub Yeah, you
know how much they are you're goingfor to go three twenty five a ticket,
these in particular two ninety four beforeservice fees and all that other stuff.
Let's see this is, uh,there's two of them. Let's go
(10:15):
ahead and select. I know asports ticket company that now that I'm starting
to visit with. Is that agood win putting? I would, I
would think so yeah, yeah,no fees period, that's zero no fees,
concerts all at no feesh Joe Bidenfinally got to figured out. No,
Joe Biden does never figure anything out. Okay, uh, yeah,
(10:35):
these are told they no fees becausethe fans deserve it. He'd say,
well put an extra fee on there, yeah he would, Yeah, he
would, no questions. So yeah, these are gonna be uh three hundy
easily over three hundred. Yeah,I like to say houndy. Yeah that's
for two tickets. So okay, all right, So there's plenty of seats
left though there's no question what agame. It's the weekend thanks even weekend,
there probably will be seats. Butthe tailgate is anybody partying? They
(10:56):
might are you like burned out bySunday over the Thanksgiving weekend because of because
yeah, because I don't, Imean, you turn around and boom,
there's Monday again right right back here. Yeah, well for us now I've
never burned out on this, butyou know, for the normal boom yeah
the mere what yeah, mere, turn around, boom, there's Monday.
(11:22):
You know, you're off probably mostlike actually for a lot of people,
they're probably off all week. Nextthing, you know, it's Thanksgiving.
Then it's Black Friday. You mightgo out do a little shopping. Saturday,
Saturday good good college football. Man. Actually Friday is probably better college
football matchups and saturd So about sixo'clock Sunday, you're piss You're done,

Right, waking out and shower feelright, Boom there's But there's also
(11:46):
because next thing, you know,it'll be December. A lot of people
don't work for the first they'll they'llwork for what about the first week or
two? Has our building been filledsince this week? No? Go look
around. There's nobody here. Imean, sEH is on air. We
know what Sonny is all about.Days there Yeah, rod Ryan Show,
(12:09):

did you go with Sean Bryan andManuel Man that pit doing over there
there, there's nobody over there. They're out, they're not here. Yeah,
they're on vacation. It's like alot of people. If you want
to mail it in next two days, should we think we should mail it
(12:31):

Do you want to mail it in? Yeah? Yeah, hell yeah.
Those guys are what's called their busiesttime here ups, FedEx, Amazon,
Rights, Rights, DHL, everybody. They're out there making plays.
(12:52):
Man. So there you get yourgifts exactly. So there are plenty of
tickets left for this Jacksonville Jaguars atthe Houston Texans this Sunday. We might
be there, may may not,who knows. I have to wait and
see what id to Miko Ryan sayabout c. J. Stroud and his
mindset. We'll hear from the headcoach and discuss next on Sports Talk seven
ninety. This is an agreement herethree Salisbury continues now Sports Talk seven ninety.
(13:22):
Huh for your rockets, lock, push the compy the ports, or
breakup. Welcome back to the JohnSouth Ray show here on Sports Talk seven
eighty Sean Bryan and TRIPLEE Billy Wagneron the twenty twenty four Hall of Fame
(13:46):
ballot list. Rockets fall to theWarriors, Eagles be the Chiefs in Monday
Night Football, big matchup this Sundayat NRG Stadium Tech in Jags Division on
the Line. Tomko, Ryan's headcoach of the Texans, spoke to the
media yesterday. He talked about CJ. Stroud's mindset. That's what the head
(14:09):
coach I had to say. Ilove CJ's attitude about him continuing to shoot
like Curry, and that's the onlyway you continue to get better, right,
You learn from your mistakes and youcontinue to attack it. And that's
how I want CJ to approach thegame. I want him to approach the
game with an attack first mindset, and we're not gonna hold bag just because
(14:31):
he make mistakes. He also madea lot of big plays for us in
that game, So I gonna letright three or four negative plays affect how
he plays the game. Now.It's head coach Tomko Ryans and I think
one of the things Sean is whenwe came into this season with a rookie
quarterback, rookie head coach, bangedup line, rookie offensive coordinator. The
(14:56):
big thing that we discussed here onthis show is you want to see the
offense without training wheels, so tospeak, not conservative play calling. Well
we haven't seen that, so howI guess with the mindset of CJ.
Stroud, even with the mistakes hemade in the game, it didn't he
(15:16):
didn't hesitate, he didn't falter fromit. As a rookie quarterback, I'd
rather have aggressive that plays smart whennecessary. Then I have to push to
be aggressive because he's afraid to makethrows because he turned the ball over.
I don't ever want him afraid toplay the position. I don't think he
(15:37):
is. But when you protect theball like he normally does now, the
last two weeks, he's six turnovershimself, and I'll bet you in his
career he won't have six turnovers intwo weeks many times in back to back.
I'll believe that it's hard to turnover six times in two weeks.
(15:58):
And I told you at some pointthis year he was going to go through
a game or two where he lookedhuman, and he's still through for almost
three forty and a couple of touchdownsand was able to still overcome that.
I you know, we can gothrough all the cliche stuff that comes to
(16:19):
play in the position. I don'tknow many coaches that I've been around that
are looking for a passive quarterback, and it is hard to find. The
guy that's extremely aggressive, that trustsit everywhere he throws it and still does
(16:40):
it with protection of the football andaccuracy. Those are hard to find.
That's what makes him unique. Amongother things. There's all the things we
all big powerful arm, big powerffarm doesn't mean it isn't worth a hill
of beans. If you don't knowwhere to throw it, you can throw
it to the right guy on time. I mean. So, I'm a
big believer that you have to gothrough stuff like this to learn. I
(17:00):
can't teach you much. Now.If you're a visual person and we watch
somebody else make a mistake and yousay, I'm not going to make that
mistake, that's a good thing too, and you can learn like that,
learn from somebody else's mistakes so youdon't make it. But when you're on
the field and going through these things, yeah, there's a like that smirking
part of me that behind closed doorsays, I'm we won the last two
(17:25):
even though we turned it over ourquarterback six times. I'm trying to figure
out when the last time. I'msure there's a number out there that a
quarterback on a team, that arookie quarterback turned it over six times in
two games and you won both games. I don't think you're gonna find it.
Be honest, if somebody can findthat number, let me know.
(17:48):
Turn it over six times and oneboth, which is not only a tribute
to the way the coaching staff isapproaching this, the way the rest of
the team is picking him up whilehe's picked them up, and we look
at it. He turned it overthree times. But I didn't walk out
of there thinking the guy just absolutelysucked today. At some point in time,
you'll have that game. But Idon't go through that thinking, man,
(18:12):
that happened. The guy absolutely suckedtoday. No, he still found
a way to make some credible throwsunder duress. The touchdown to Tank Dell
was awesome. I just the traitof being able to close games out and
win when everything isn't going your way, that is a tremendous I'm not sure
you can teach that two players.I mean, maybe you can, but
(18:34):
I do believe that winning and losingboth become a habit and become contagious with
the rest of your team. Ithink this team now expects to win instead
of hopes to win. And thereis a huge difference, huge difference.
And I've been on teams with both, and we walked through the tunnel.
It was like, if they don'tplay their best football, they got no
shot at beating us. That's howyou felt. And I've also been down
(18:57):
there that if we don't play ourbest football and then some we're in for
a fistfight the entire friggin game. And I think the Texans are starting to
learn that. You know what,I know, it's cheesy day. Why
not us? We hear, youknow, well, why not detextions?
Why not? We always say itstarts with the coach and a quarterback,
and they've got both, and they'veit's expanded to a bunch of other players
(19:18):
on the team, and other guysare doing their job when the starter's not
there, which they haven't been ableto pull off in the past. And
you and I both know that.So I'm impressed with I'm impressed with a
lot of things that coaches don't teachto players about CJ. Stroud. He's
got it. He's got I knowI'm saying that it that we all,
but there's something about him that isable to Now I can tell you this,
(19:41):
if they want to get where they'regoing, he can't turn it over
six times in two weeks and he'llbe fine. But there's this, Instead
of six times six turnovers in twoweeks, thinking oh, he's going to
hell in a handbasket, mine issix times in two weeks. Found ways
to win. It's not going toget any worse than that for him.
That's how I'm thinking about him.Get asked about him no matter where I
go now across the country in aninterview, it always starts with him and
(20:04):
people want to know. And Isaid, well, if you're watching the
same football i'm watching, you cansee that the guy's doing things different than
most veterans do. Let alone, rookies, think about what you just said
real quick. You said, whereveryou have an interview throughout the country,
and we know that you do hitsall across this nation. When was the
(20:26):
last time they actually started with quarterbacktalk for the Texans not. I highly
doubt you can correct me if I'mwrong. I'm sure last year it was
coaching. I'm sure the year beforeit was coaching, and then the year
before that it had to be somethingalong the lines of what are they going
to do with the Shaun Watson typething. Oh, it's been a while
(20:47):
since we said that position is nolonger a concern. Yeah, and he
just he's been impressive and he knowshe hasn't played his best football. But
to know that and still come outon top, normally you're going to lose
those now, think about the narrativeof the team will be four and six
instead of six and four if youdon't overcome it. But we always spend
so much time talking about him andDamika Ryan's We've also got to start to
(21:11):
recognize some other players that are Brown'sout. Somebody else steps up. This
guy, I mean, Tank Delldoes his thing, then Noel Brown steps
up, and then Dalton Schultz doeshis thing. And then on the defensive
side of the ball, Chapman comesin and played right catch. I mean
Cashman yea and Cashman Brian Cashman's theYankees but comes in and Paraman's out for
(21:33):
three three weeks, two weeks, two weeks after after the appeal, he's
that just like we said, he'dgo from three games to Cashman. It's
easy. You can call him Brian, Yeah, just base of white dude,
right, but comes in and says, Okay, he's not playing,
goes in there and takes care ofhis business. Right, And you saw
some phenomenal plays on the back end. I just to me, it's almost
(21:55):
like, Okay, what he's doneand what they've created is such inner competition
now that it's getting to the pointwhere their innercompetition is saying, you know
what, anything you can do,I can do a little bit better.
And I think that's a good thingfor a team because your competition is within.
And I don't think they're worried toomuch about what other teams do.
And I think they're to the pointwhere they figure, if we play well,
(22:17):
we got a chance in every gamebecause our quarterbacks is going to give
us a legit shot. Yeah. And speaking of guys that are continuing to
play well, let's look at BlakeCashman and this defense for Demico Ryans.
Dimico spoke about how Blake Cashman played. What did he say it's the guys
that are not being talked about asmuch. Let's give them some spotlight here
on the Seawn Salisbury Show. Let'salso talk Trasian Wealth guys Trasianwealth dot com

Brad, what's going on, fellows? Good morning guys, Good morning
Houston Sports is live and well, hey, real quick, Sean, he
made you made a comment earlier,a couple of comments in talking about you
know, CJ. Shroud his sixturnovers and everything like that. You know,
kind of have the rookie rookie mistakesin there, but at the same
(26:34):
time is also throwing over three hundredand fifty yards with multiple touchdowns in there.
So just a mental fortitude of CJ. Shroud is off the charge being
a rookie, which is very impressive. Well, that's why I've said he's
he does it. He does it, it looks like he's doing it.
Even better than a veteran. Ihe's passed the point of me even thinking
of him like a rookie. Soit's a great compliment to be able to
(26:55):
turn it over six times still finda way to get your team to win
and still be aggressive. He's ahe's a phenomenal player. Man. Secondly,
I know the one thing I kepthearing all offseason, and and it
just it was, you know,it was getting kind of annoying. But
it's a factor behind it. Though. Our weakest point besides the quarterback for
the season started was our wide receivers, and I think our wide receiver is
(27:17):
one of our strongest suits of ourteams for all of our game. One
guy goes down, next one stepsup. So I just want to give
the flowers to the coaches for coachingup as ward receivers. Just in general,
it's excitement going forward with the HoustonTexans. I just want to say
is that I'd never been one moreexcited than we had Matt Shop. So
it's been a great time for HoustonSports and Houston Texans and go Texans.
(27:38):
Thank you. That's a great point. And the interesting thing too, is
these guys haven't quit coaching and tryingto develop and teaching their players even in
the pros and where a lot oftime coaches get to the point where just
assume you know it. You've gotto continue to develop them, whether they're
sixteen years old, whether they're twentyfive or thirty five, you've got to
keep coaching them. And you gotto as a head coach, coach your
(28:00):
assistants to stay on top of that. And they are. And Rad's right,
which was a perceived we don't havea number one type of not weakness,
but you were still, How's Wood'sgoing to be? Is John Metchi
going to be able to come back? Tank Dell? Rookies don't usually impact
you that big. I mean it'slike you start to roll through the depth
of the Dalton Schultz is a veteranwill he still produced the way they did
(28:22):
and he did in Dallas, andall of them are producing and a guy
they ran out of Dallas has becomeone of their better players, Noel Brown.
I mean you have room for himon their roster. Yeah, he
comes here and he's playing like nowDallas is probably looking saying, man,
that had been a nice extra weaponto have for us. But sometimes a
venue change is huge for a player, and this receiving core, the depth
(28:42):
of it has proven. As anoverall position, it may very well be
their best the depth of the positionnot named quarterback with Mills and Kate Keenham,
who you got two veterans behind himif you ever needed him for a
series. Hopefully there'll be no,you won't need that. But it's really
been impressive. So they're coaching themup the right way. And I don't
(29:07):
hear anybody complaining about touches. I'mnot getting mine. Go to Buffalo.
You'll hear that complain every day.I mean you're hearing it all over the
league. It didn't happen here.Maybe we got all that complaining out of
us because we finally got a teamthat believes they should be winning every week.
Yeah, it's it's it's good tosee what this wide receiving corps has
done because, like Brad said, our caller going into this season, you
(29:32):
heard, well, you got C. J. Stroud and you got a
pretty good offensive line. But who'she gonna throw to, Who's gonna be
the next who's gonna be the numberone receiver? Nico Collins, what's he
gonna do well? Nicole Collins haveplayed pretty well. Tank Dalla's played well.
No Brown's come out of nowhere, and yet here we are with c.
J. Stroud continuing to light itup. He's coming up on three
thousand yards passing. He's got seventeentouchdowns, five interceptions, and when you
(29:53):
compare them to Jalen Hurts, he'sgot twenty four to ninety twenty four to
ninety seven passing yards, fifteen tds, nine interceptions. Patrick Mahomes twenty six
nineteen nineteen touchdowns, nine interceptions,So he's uh, the interceptions are down,
but last two weeks he's had someturnovers, so he's gonna have to
(30:15):
fix that obviously. Demiko Ryans yesterdaytalked about his defense, especially Blake Blake
Cashman. Blake Cashman had a phenomenalgame on Sunday. This is what the
head coach had to say about BlakeCashman. The thing that stood out for
me with Blake was him stepping inat the Mike lonebacker spot, which is
a position he has n't played allyear. For him to step in and
(30:37):
handle the communication right really well,it just speaks to Blake and his growth
and you know how important he isto our team right, being able to
play multiple spots, it's really importantfor us. And Blake stood up made
a lot of plays for us yesterday. He's done that all year. So
very encouraged with Blake's growth throughout theyear. So he steps into the microL
(30:59):
line backer position. Denzel Peraman wasout. He was suspended originally for three
weeks. He appealed and it gotdropped down to two Cashman steps in nineteen
total tackles, thirteen solo, onesack, and one tackle for loss,
and let's see two QB hits ina pass deflection. He was the I
mean, in truth, he mighthave been the best player on the field
on Sunday. Might have been thebest player on the field on Sunday.
(31:22):
This, I think is a Thisis as big a measurement game as they've
had in a while. Now yousay, well Cincinnati was a big one.
Yeah they are, But I'm talkingabout to date. Judging from what
they've overcome the last couple of weeksand still won games, I would expect
the quarterbacks going to come out andget rid of the turnover bug and find
a way to win. That's Itrust him. That's a crazy ten games
(31:45):
in. You don't usually trust rookies. Yeah, I mean trust him,
but it's like, do you fullytrust him to it to where Bobby?
So, the tendency for a playcaller and I get this part of it
will be to back off. Ohdo we need to simplify a few things
because he threw the ball to thewrong or missed a thrower, had a
strip sack fumble. No, no, no, matter of fact, we're
going to ramp up the aggressiveness. We're going to prove to him that we
(32:07):
trust him that when it's third andthree or fourth and two, let's put
the ball in his hand if it'sin that thirty five yard range. Listen,
the one thing that we've always agreedon that I think people the old
school way used to be in metricsand analytics have kind of achieve and changed
football a little bit. When itwas fourth and two, for the most
part, you were kicking a fieldgoal. Now we've got to the point
(32:29):
where it's you're not kicking a fieldmore often than not fourth and inside of
two on that side of the field, most people seem to be going for
it on a regular basis. Andwe've complained in this city, but too
conservative. Why are you afraid toattack? And now that we're attacking,
we want points and that's a goodthing because people were saying, well,
wait a minute, now we cansettle for field goals because we don't have
to score. Well, the numberone goal in the red zone in that
(32:52):
area when you cross the midfield iscome away with points, no matter what.
And the other second level is don'tturn it over or take us out
of points, meeting with a sack. And for the most part they've done
that and they will continue to getbetter. So the aggressiveness. If I'm
a play caller, the initial thoughtis turning it over. Let's back off.
No, no, no, stayaggressive. He has got the wherewithal
(33:15):
the quarterback to make decisions. Itjust sometimes the other team wins, crap
happens, tipball interception. We cando say well, I think we'll play
conservative and then we'll score sixteen pointsand we'll be the one losing twenty one
to sixty. You don't do that. Attack and just and the part of
attack, And for me as aplay caller, if I'm calling plays is
(33:36):
do the guys that have the ballin their hand? Do I trust them
to make the right decision, notalways the right throw, the perfect throat,
but the right choice. If youmake the right choice, most of
the time, good things will happen. Even if it's a third and five,
you throw, you get four yardsor fourth and five and we have
to punt it or we give itto them at their own twenty eight yard
line. Whose we've got four insteadof five. Okay, at least you're
(33:58):
doing those things that make def andjust think moving ahead. I think this
is as important game as we've seenin this city as football wise, and
since a playoff appearance maybe against KansasCity. I'm being serious about this.
I feel that way right now.Yeah, it's exactly how I feel.
It's been a while. It's beena while, and I hope they take
him to the friggin woodshed me too, take him out back and beat him
(34:20):
with a rubber hose, you knowwhat I mean. Again, it would
be the first time. I mean, you've been kinded around with the rubber
hose a few times, having aboutpounded around. It's a little harsh,
it's a little descriptive, a littlepounded around with the rubber hole. Eric
dick Uh, I'm sure you'll hearfrom him today. You might, you
might. You don't want to getthe shaft, No, you do not
(34:43):
want the shaft absolutely or rubber hoseor yeah if you I mean, if
you get if you're getting the shaft, you know you better do better call
Eric Dick correct, better get it? You better get Richard? Oh yeah,
right, right, there you go. But as far as pounded with
a rubber hose, I can confirmthat's never happened. You sure you want
to do that? You don't wantto deny it. I'm not denying it
(35:04):
if you can confirm that it's happenedor this never happens, never happened,
Okay, yeah, all right nowinteresting. Yeah we'll get a break though,
because you're no chet Holmgren. No, okay, but who is exactly?
Who've got a lot of skinny guysmaking an impact. Big skinny guys
have good the idea, right,Yeah? Not bad? Uh. Devin

Can you just go up and givesome dap and say, listen, it

Yeah? See K Camp, itseems a little harsh strength Thanksgiving? Did

Okay, here we go, man, I'll tell you what. I
just got to cut that bitch off. Hold on, oh, to keep
it up. I'm gonna cut thatbitch off. Yeah. So is the
first one you're cutting something off physically. The other one you're cutting her off

meaning and I step in. Yeah, like, let's go keep hit the
bricks, right right, Let's tryit different now? Yes? Do it's
you know what? Yeah, I'vehad it. I'm cutting that bitch off
or the other one is every timeI think about it, about to take
a machete and cut that bitch off. Pretty obvious. Yeah, see how
(40:01):
you can change? It's like whenit's like when somebody sends you a text
or a tweet and they don't knowhow to use punctuation. It can really
be different. Right. You canlook at it and they say, what
are you talking about? You said, no, no, no, no,
I forgot to put a comma there. Oh my bad. That's the
worst. There you go, it'sthe worst. Why is it so hard
to use punctuation correctly. Well, because we are, you know how they
(40:21):
have the greatest generation. We're dealingwith the dumbest generation of all time.
How's that I'm kidding? I don'tknow, you're not kidding. Maybe I'm
I don't think I'm getting I'm notOr the way we approach teaching this generation,
I don't know. It could bethat. I don't know why.
But you know, we've all misseda comma here and there. But it
can get skewed if you don't useproper functuation go to school to learn that,
(40:45):
or knowing the difference between two andtwo you're there, you are,
Yeah, yeah, they're and thereds and d's right exactly. I mean,
who knows the difference yeah and ye. Like when you go to somebody
at you got at Thanksgiving and yougot you know, your table with stuff

on like M and m's for Christmasand candy, and all of a sudden
there's nuts there, yes, Andyou can be misconstrued because you go up
you want some of these nuts, right, yeah, right, say of
course, and then you put thatback down you say, okay, well
here you go exactly, or it'syou want some of these nuts and They're
like, really, you gonna tryto give me the DS nuts joke and
you hand them some walnuts, sayhere they are nobody wants walnuts though,
(41:30):
Uh chin nuts, I mean,I mean uh almonds, chest nuts,
chin nuts, chestnuts roasting on anopen fire. But hey, I will
say, if you do, cutthat Disney ditch off, yeah, it's
probably gonna save you some money.Since Christmas is right around the corner.
Why are you what? Maybe theywant to cut you off. Maybe maybe
(41:52):
this Iszoid's tired of you. I'llget to stay here. Maybe this is
Zoid just saying, well, letme cut that bitch. Yeah, you
know, I don't Maybe they're tryingto cut you off. I don't have

nobody cutting me? What's worse?I don't have you calling a woman you
like, cut that bitch of meaningit's a woman or a male. If
(42:13):
you, as a man, getcalled a bitch, that's worse than times
worse than a woman getting called that, Right, I would agree, Yeah,
I would say if a woman,it's even doubly worse. When a
female looks at you say, well, you're a serum, why are you
being a bit? And it's serious, don't be a bit? Yeah,
you know that means question in mymanhood. Right, it's like calling a
football player soft soft, right, yes, are you got your you're gutless?
(42:35):
That's another one. Godless? Youfeel me, duge, Wow,
I know you feel me. It'slike when you're playing you know, you're
on the hardwood, you're playing hoops, someone calls you a bitch. Well,
then if that's the case, theyjust get dunked on. In the
past, that's what they would havejust got dropped, stepped and dunked on
on the baseline. Yeah, okay, speaking of that, and it would
have been at these nuts dunked too. Speaking of that Rocket's loss of the
Warriors, They din't get the hellout of California, man, Yeah,
(42:58):
Cally ain't been good to him recently. No, it has not. Well,
they got the trifecta, Clippers,Lake, the Lake Show, and
Golden State. Yeah not good man, Yep, they need to get out
of there. Oh yeah, andSacramento. That's right. Are they owned

right. Sacked town, Yeah, right there you go. I like that
sack Town. That's what they callit. You've got to sack down.

Hey, finally a fourth wireless network. And I've been hearing about this

It's this boost infinite thing. Okay, The most important aspect to talk about
is the best coverage that they automaticallyswitch you. Guys, that's the best
to talk about with your friends andshare it right, switch you to whatever
network is best for you and yourlocation. How about your the concert,
You're at the ballgame, you can'tget reception, but then all of a

Jags this Sunday at NRG Stadium. So what are some things we learned after
Week eleven of the NFL season.Well, one thing we learned, Sean,
the Jets are not very good ZachWilson has been demoted to QB three.
(46:54):
It's the third time he's been benched. He will not be a Jet
next year. I don't believe.I don't believe he will. I put
it this way, He's not goingto be under center. He's a guy,
a perfect case in point of atalented guy who needs to start a
new start somewhere else. What TimBoyle starts this week for them, we've
(47:17):
seen might start in the past.Trevor Simmons the backup Simion right, and
then Aaron Rodgers will be back nextyear. I also, I mean with
that, so the Jets a superBowl roster with a non super Bowl quarterback,
and then you got the Eagles provedwhy they're the best team in football
last night. Now Valdez Scantling hada chance too to make a great play
(47:38):
at the end, but he did. It's called football happens. Philadelphia grinded
a tough one out of physical gettingafter it, and they have taken and
go on the road and proved they'rethey're the best team in football right now
at nine to one and headed towardshome field advantage throughout. If this keeps
up, I think We're in forone hell of a postseason. The Chiefs
(47:59):
are a good football to Their defenseis improved, but they just couldn't quite
close it out. And you know, drop balls. You saw some drop
balls in the middle field. Yousaw Kelsey drop one, you saw Watson
drop one, you saw Valdes scantlingdrop one. You can't lay that many
balls on the ground. I thinkthey now graphic just pops up on TV
(48:20):
that they've got twenty six drops. It's the most in the league. I
don't think the Kansas City Chiefs, their offense feels different to me this year.
They're not the team that every timeI go out there, I think
they're throwing up forty. I thinktheir defense has to at times get more
stops than they're used to because theKansas City Chiefs aren't going to just grind
and now they're capable of it.But it feels a little different to me.
(48:43):
Philadelphia proved they're the team to beatin the NFC and maybe in the
NFL. Right now, the Lionsare eight and two. This is their
best start since nineteen fifty four.Nineteen fifty four was the last time they
went eight and two. The Brownshave not had a better start. They're
(49:07):
at seven and three since nineteen ninetyfour, and then the Jaguars have not
had a better start since nineteen ninetynine. Seven and three. There's some
teams and we I know you andI both had the Lions winning their division.
We could be headed towards Sean andyou think about it this way,
we could be looking at a Lionsin Eagles NFC championship a ways away.
(49:35):
But yeah, I mean, theLions are definitely capable of They showed some
resilience last week and coming back againstChicago. Now they're a better team than
Chicago, and that was at home, but they still did what the Lions
do. They allowed team to hangaround and then they had to come back
and beat them. But they didbeat them, and they did it with
a late drive and getting into theend zone. So yeah, Detroit's not
(49:58):
you're you're your teenage years Detroit Lions. They're better than that. Now,
this is a really good football team. Now the question is do they have
postseason moxie and guts to go outthere and take care of a few games
to get to February. They sureoffensively can do it, and defensively they've
gotten better, and I love thefact that their run game has become such
(50:21):
a threat with gibbs Ken's I mean, Detroit's real now Detroit throy but they
are capable of also losing thirty fiveto seventeen against a good team in the
NFC. If Detroit played San Franciscoright now, give me the forty nine
ers. Yeah, but I alsoknow that if you're a team like Philadelphia
or forty nine Ers, you maynot want to play that team. Let
somebody else get eliminated or by them, or let them eliminate somebody else,
(50:45):
and you try to get them aslate as you can because they are explosive
offensively. Yeah. And speaking ofthe forty nine ers, Brock party towards
the Tampa Bay Bucks. He wenttwenty one to twenty five, three hundred
and thirty three yards passing three touchdownsin that twenty seven to four teen victory.
Things they have to say after thosecouple of bad games that they're back,
and especially getting Chase Young on thatdefensive line is stupid. Yeah,
(51:07):
they're they're They're a very very dangerous, dangerous team, and they are efficient
and they don't get enough credit forbeing overly explosive. They are loaded with
skill set on the offensive side ofthe ball. They can score from anywhere
at any time. And you sawagain. I don't know why All's purty
does is put up numbers and win. And I don't know why that's not
(51:30):
good enough for some I don't.It's like, you want the oh Man,
but he doesn't look as pretty doingit because he's not big and physical,
and so he's averaging like over nineand a half yards per completion throwing
the football. Well, he's ona good team. Oh okay, but
Hurts isn't. But but Lamar isn't. But Golf isn't, but Prescott isn't,
(51:54):
but Mahomes isn't. Right, Oh, oh okay, my bad.
You're only supposed to be a goodquarterback if your team sucks and you still
play well. It's the dumbest waythat the dumbest thing I've ever heard is
people not wanting to give pretty creditbecause he doesn't throw it a country mile

(55:50):
start since nineteen fifty four. Nineteenfifty four was the last time they went
eight and two. The Browns havenot had a better start. They're at
seven and three, since nineteen ninetyfour, and then the Jaguars have not
had a better start since nineteen ninetynine, seven and three. There are
(56:15):
some teams and I know you andI both had the Lions winning their division.
We could be headed towards Sean andyou think about it this way,
we could be looking at a Lionsin Eagles NFC championship a ways away.
But yeah, I mean, theLions are definitely capable of They showed some
(56:39):
resilience last week and coming back againstChicago. Now they're a better team than
Chicago, and that was at home, but they still did what the Lions
do. They allowed team to hangaround and then they had to come back
and beat them. But they didbeat them, and they did it with
a late drive and getting into theend zone. So yeah, Detroit's not
your teenage years Detroit Lions. They'rebetter than that. Now. This is
(57:02):
a really good football team. Nowthe question is do they have postseason moxie
and guts to go out there andtake care of a few games to get
to February. They sure offensively cando it, and defensively they've gotten better,
and I love the fact that theirrun game has become such a threat
with Gibbs Ken's I mean Detroit's realnow Detroit throw, but they are capable
(57:24):
of also losing thirty five to seventeenagainst a good team in the NFC.
If Detroit played San Francisco right now, give me the forty nine ers.
Yeah, but I also know thatif you're a team like Philadelphia or forty
nine Ers, you may not wantto play that team. Let somebody else
get eliminated or by them, orlet them eliminate somebody else, and you
(57:44):
try to get them as late asyou can, because they are explosive offensively.
Yeah. And speaking of the fortynine ers, Brock party towards the
Tampa Bay Bucks. He went twentyone to twenty five, three hundred and
thirty three yards, passing three touchdownsin that twenty seven to fourteen victory.
Things they have to say after thosecouple of bad games that they're back,
and especially getting Chase Young on thatdefensive line is stupid. Yeah, they're
(58:07):
they're They're a very very dangerous, dangerous team, and they are efficient and
they don't get enough credit for beingoverly explosive. They are loaded with skill
set on the offensive side of theball. They can score from anywhere at
any time. And you saw again. I don't know why all's purty does
is put up numbers and win,And I don't know why that's not good
(58:29):
enough for some I don't. It'slike you want the oh Man, but
he doesn't look as pretty doing itbecause he's not big and physical, and
so he's averaging like over nine anda half yards per completion throwing the football.
Well, he's on a good team. Oh okay, but Hurts isn't.
But but Lamar isn't. But Golfisn't, but Prescott isn't, but
(58:52):
Mahomes isn't. Right, Oh,oh okay, my bad. You're only
supposed to be a good quarterback ifyour team sucks and you still play well.
It's the dumbest way that the dumbestthing I've ever heard is people not
wanting to give pretty credit because hedoesn't throw it a country mile and because
he wasn't a he was, Hey, he's a seventh round, last guy
(59:14):
drafted in the draft. Of coursehe's not that good yet over the course
of seventeen games, his numbers arestupid. Seventeen games of starting last year
and this year. If he wasa first round pick from last year,
like CJ. Stroud was this year. The world would be raving about the
forty nine ers future at quarterback. But there's this stigma that follows the guy
who was picked seventh. Have youever thought that maybe experts who draft screw
(59:37):
up sometimes and miss out on aguy's ability to play. I can tell
you that, well. They didit to Stroud even though he was second.
The majority of them thought, ohno, no, no, we
can't, we can't take him,and the textans saw through the crap and
look what they got a hell ofa player. So this notion that you've
got to be a big, physicalguy and make off schedule throws all the
time to be considered a star, screw you. The forty nine ers are
(01:00:01):
dangerous because their offensive guy fits perfectlyat quarterback to what they're trying to do.
Kind of like here, they justgot more weapons. I don't know
why we punish a guy for havinggood players around him, because if he
didn't, Patrick Mahomes would not wina Super Bowl with the Chicago Bears teammates
no, or with Carolina, hewould not not Burrow. They wouldn't be
(01:00:22):
in it. They get better,They wouldn't be in it. Just so
you understand this before get to thestake. Let's go to Rob. Rob.
Good morning, Hey, good morning, gentlemen. What's going on?
Yeah, I wanted to know ifanybody else was cringing hard when CJ took
that hard hit on Sunday. Andalso, do you think that it affected
(01:00:45):
to play in the second half? They Rob, Yeah, he took a
big time lick. I don't thinkit affected his play. I mean,
listen, I don't know if hishead was spinning a little bit and he
got hit or his body and it'slike whoa. But usually when he's in
the game, I don't I don'tthink that it turned him to be a
little gun shy. It ain't thefirst time. I mean, he was
(01:01:06):
pounded the first two weeks of theseason. He got hammered hit after hit.
Nobody likes it, and I don'tknow the effect, but I wouldn't
think that that had the effect.I think at times you get a little
greedy and sometimes you force him inthere and they work. Sometimes you don't.
And it just didn't. But hestill overcame it. And I what
was his first part of this question? He asked two of them. You
(01:01:27):
said, cringing about the hit.Well, you know, yeah, anytime
they get close and hammer your quarterbacklike that, you'll yeah, well,
you can't afford to lose him.But unfortunately, it's not going to be
the last time I'm going to cringewhen a guy's running down the gun barrel
and coming down a gun barrel tohitch in his mouth. I mean,
it's it sucks, but I trustthat the guy can stand in here,
he's a big body and take it. Although you're trying to limit those as
(01:01:49):
much as you can for any ofthose guys. But yes, it's a
great point. None of us wantto see that hit. I don't think
it affected his game. I justthink he had a couple of things go
wrong, which is okay. Themajority of the game, he was accurate
within a hell of a decision maker. Yeah, he might have got his
bell wrong a little bit, butthere's a long line for that, I
say, take a number. Yeah, a long line for that, no
question about that. All right, let's get to the stakeout next on Sports

Brian, The Shawn Salisbury Show continues, Good go on Sports Talk seven ninety.
All right, Sean, what areyou hearing out there now? The
(01:04:03):
Salsbury's takeouts Salsburys takeout on the SeanSalisbury Show. Time for the steakout here
on the show this morning. OnTuesday morning, a couple of days away
(01:04:24):
from Thanksgiving, Rockets fall to theWarriors. Legendary Astro's pitcher Billy Wagner on
the twenty twenty four Hall of Fameballot, Eagles be the chiefs of Monday
Night Football. I Seohn for thesteakout. Greatest quarterback of all time had
some thoughts on the play in theNFL. In today's game, he was
(01:04:45):
almost Stephen A. Smith. Andthis is what Tom Brady had to say.
I think there's a lot of mediocrityin today's NFL. I don't see
the excellence that I saw in thepast. Why not and why not?
I think the coaching isn't as goodas it was. I don't think the
development of young players is as goodas it was. The rules have allowed
a lot of bad habits to getinto the actual performance of the game.
(01:05:09):
So I just think the product,in my opinion, is less than what
it's been. I think I lookat a lot of players like ray Lewis
and Rodney Harrison and Ronnie Lott andguys that impacted the game in a certain
way, and every hit they wouldhave made would have been a penalty.
Your coach is complaining about their ownplayer being tackling and not necessarily, Why
don't they talk to their player abouthow to protect themselves. We used to
(01:05:30):
work on the fundamental those things allthe time. Now they're trying to be
regulated all the time. Offensive playersneed to protect them Sell, it's not
the defensive player to protect offensive player. A defensive player needs to protect them.
Sell, I didn't throw the ballto certain areas because I was afraid
players are going to get knocked out. That's the reality. I didn't throw
it to the middle when I playedray Lewis because you knock them out of
the game and I couldn't afford tolose a good player. So it's funny,
(01:05:53):
Well it was not funny. Butit's Tom Brady and Steven A.
Smith talking about today's NFL game. But just a couple of weeks ago,
Oh, Sean, I asked you, is this some of the worst football
you've ever seen played in the NFL? Every Thursday night game has not been
very good. You've seen poor playon Sundays, And there it is Tom
(01:06:14):
Brady talking about it. Coaching isnot as good players are. It's watered
down. Man. Yeah, whyis that in your opinion? Obviously we
just heard Tom Brady, But whyhas told you? I feel I don't
think we developed plive said it.He said development of players. Have I
not said that a million times?Yeah? Yeah, And the rules are
set up to make this a It'sjust not the same football. And when
(01:06:34):
you say that, some dumb asswill say, oh yeah, you just
stuck in the old way. No, I'm actually not. I like new
brand of football. I like spreadout offenses. I like running the football
and being physical. I like somebodythat attacks and has got guts and plays
aggressive. Isn't playing not to loseas opposed to playing to win. I
love all that. There are certainthings at old School. Will never get
(01:06:55):
that. You can call it oldor whatever you want. If you're not
physical, you ain't winning a championship. I'm just telling on you now.
Finesse teams don't win titles in anysport, hockey, football, basketball.
If you can't shoot and can't knocksomebody around and they knock him in a
teeth, and I don't mean literallyonce in a while under the at the
glass and rebound on both ends ofthe floor and play some defense, you're
(01:07:15):
not winning an NBA title. Welllook what Gold State did well. Gold
State, if you remember the year, if I'm not mistaken, it was
the same year they had the bestdefense in basketball and in their offense was
obvious. I believe that was theyear. What were they seventy three and
nine? Their best year? Ithink they led the league or first or
second in defense as well. Soit's not just and maybe I'm wrong.
I think it's the same year. But they defended you as well, so
(01:07:38):
in football, I don't think wedevelop them. I actually think there's there
you go. I actually think there'stoo many buddies on coaching staffs. I
do. It's one thing to havefamiliarity with your buddy. I don't care
if my if an offensive coordinator that'sa friend of mine is my best friend.
If I don't think he can helpus win, I'm not hiring him.
Love him. He can be ina different that. But I'm I
(01:08:00):
think we have too much of that. I think we have too much of
the the uh. I think alot of coaches coach for a certain approval
as opposed to making what's best fortheir team. I'm not saying all of
them, and a lot may beoverdoing it, but Tom Brady's right,
I don't. I think it's watereddown. I think we've met will never
(01:08:21):
have seen more. Every now andagain we get spectacular plays, We're seeing
him just as often as ever.Spectacular plays. The consistency of doing it
the right way all the time wedon't see. I think coaches let it
slack. I think You'll see acoach celebrating and doing the you know,
celebrating with a player, but noteven know why you celebrating the play.
You know what I'm saying, didyou do it right? Are we making
(01:08:43):
sure you go back and teach it? And it's not just on the coaches.
The players are the ones who gotto make plays and do the lonely
work. But and when I saycelebrating, what do you mean, Sean,
they can't celebrate. But he everknows the guy will come over and
maybe didn't do it right, butpulled it off. Like a defensive back
gets beat and the balls underthrown. The guy catches it, and you know
what, the coach says. He'sover there hugging him and that's great,
but are you teaching him that?Dude, you got beat by six yards
(01:09:03):
If it wasn't an underthrow, whatwere you biting on? So you've got
to be able to still coach anddevelop players. I think that the spectacular
players are spectacular. I think thedepth of rosters and doing it right on
a consistent basis and demanding it onthe practice field. Let me let me
tell you when you can't show upon Sunday and expect to be great if
(01:09:27):
you didn't already take care of iton the practice field the other five six
days a week. I believe that, so every now and again you'll be
fine. Sustained greatness has nothing todo with the era. It's not comparing
airs. I think that we playmore inconsistent bad football than at any time
I've ever seen in my life.Ten years ago, twenty years ago,
five years ago. I also thinkthat we make more spectacular plays than we've
(01:09:50):
ever made. The problem is,I think that's part of the problem.
I think everybody wants to be ahero as opposed to just grinding it out
and doing it right, be ahero when necessary. You cannot be a
hero in every play, And Ithink the brand of football that's being played
in the NFL on there's more badthan good. Let's put it that way.
Yeah, there's more bad than good, and more average and subpar than
(01:10:14):
good. Year. If this wasa golf tournament, you'd win shooting over
par, I was gonna say shootingover par. Yeah. I feel like
this season it's been the worst asfar as mediocre play this and other people
can judge it the way they dobecause I'm still going to be a gym
rat. I'm still gonna watch it. I'm still going to But I can
tell you this, I'm speaking forme. You can speak however you want,
(01:10:38):
so you can't tell me what I'msupposed to think. I'm just telling
you from me. I've never beenmore bored with the consistency of NFL football
or the inconsistency of it, inmy life. Yeah, I've never been
more bored to get up at halftimeof a game against two good teams and
watching football and say, hit theDVR, I'll watch it tomorrow. Even
(01:11:00):
last night, Chiefs and Eagles,Like the Eagles towards the end of the
game finally took control of it.But do drop ball after drop ball for
the Chiefs, their offense not lookingreally like the same offense that we've seen.
I was kind of bored with it. I was just kind of bored
with it. I think at onepoint going into the third quarter, Jalen
Hurts had like eighty nine yards passing, Like I don't know, maybe it's
(01:11:26):
just me. I don't know howyou felt about the game last I just
thought some of it was a littlebit boring. So, I mean,
and we have two of the twobest teams, some would argue, and
two of the best quarterbacks, twoof the five best quarterbacks in the league.
I think that we have some spectacularplay, and I think the great
ones still do it great. Don'tmisunderstanding. You watch guys play every week,
Max Crosby, Miles Garrett, they'redoing it. I'm just talking about
the overall play like Brady's talking about. Do they put it this way?
(01:11:50):
The overall play on a golf tournamentat a major wouldn't make the cut.
Does that make sense? Yep?When everybody wants to be spectacular every now
and then, you just got todo something. When you make your scrambled
eggs, you just got to makethem the same way. Does that make
it? When you when you putyour toast in, when you're when you
cook your bacon the way you wantit every now and then, you can't
(01:12:10):
try to be spectacular and cook itfor forty seven people. You just got
to cook it and like it becauseand just it's it's it's sometimes the basic
stuff and with certain things, don'tyou got to put flour to raise the
Don't you have to have something toraise the bread that you're going to make
homemade bread. Then there have tobe something in there that you know,
yeast, so it raises. It'sthe same thing. The foundation of what
these football teams do. I thinksome of the foundation there's a lot of
(01:12:34):
cracks in it. Does that makesense. I don't think there's huge holes
in all of it, but Ithink there's major cracks. I don't.
I think the talent's just as good. I don't think the execution is.
Yeah. I think with with themediocrity in the NFL today, I think
it goes into coaching. How muchhas coaching changed and where do the parents
(01:12:56):
fall when it comes to youth sports. Let's discuss that next on Sports Talk
seven. Back to it, hTown. You on juice, Bring the
juice, Let's go. The SeanSoundsbury Show continues most definitely on Sports Talk
seven ninety so I take you tothe Candy Show. I look to the
(01:13:30):
shop. Don't you stop going tostop? Billy Wagner On the twenty twenty
four Hall of Fame ballot, formercloser for the Houston Astros, Rockets fall
to the Warriors. They've lost threestraight. Eagles be the Chiefs in Monday
(01:13:50):
Night Football. We're gonna talk coaching. We just started some audio from Tom
Brady talking about the mediocrity in theNFL this year, and one of the
big things he said is to blameis guys aren't really coached as hard.
Well, before we get to that, let's get back out to the phone
line. Seven seven eins go toDoug Aggie, Doug, what's up?
(01:14:13):
Patty Fellas Man, I think theNFL finally got what they want when the
Institute of free agency, they gotparody. You're seeing it in college football
too, with the NIL and theI mean, think about it. Guys
aren't in the schemes as long asthey used to be with the free agency,
so I mean you had you wentfrom players that played on teams for
ten and twelve years the players thataren't even on teams for two and two
(01:14:34):
and a half years. So Imean, I think honestly, with with
free agency and NIL, I thinkthat's exactly what the NFL wanted in college
football wanted. They wanted parody. They wanted the inability to predict for the
for the Vegas odds, and Ithink it's just making everybody a ton of
(01:14:55):
money. I agree, guys, coaching UH has has fallen off. I
think it's kind of falling off theface of the earth, just because of
the fact that there's so many peoplethat are turned off to a lot of
the I guess I don't know howto put it. The money aspect,
especially in college football now, there'sjust a lot of guys that are like,
(01:15:15):
you know what, I don't Idon't have to deal with it.
I'll just go coach high school football. And that's why you see Texas high
school football booming right now. Thankyou, Doug. I think he's right.
But I look at it. Idon't think it's parody. I think
it's mediocrity, and mediocrity has createdparody because there's more teams that are at
the bottom of the bear. Lookat it now you get a handful of
(01:15:38):
teams at the top. And really, do you look at love Dan Campbell,
love what Detroit's doing. Do youthink that's a great team. That's
a good team. That's a goodteam. Yeah, great, it's a
great team. No, I don'tthink me. I mean, Philadelphia is
beatable. But if we're going tolean great, there's close against the Baltimore
Ravens are not a great team.Who's a great team in the NFL outside
of the Phillies, the Phillies,Philadelphia, Philadelphia great talent, San Francisco
(01:16:01):
great talent when they're all now theold well, when they're playing their best,
their great team. But I'm talkingabout the consistency. Think about Aikman's
Cowboys or Brady's Patriots, just asthen the teens of the twenty teams,
how great they played. It's notthe talent, it's how great and consistent
you play. And so talent's throughthe roof. And I know you've got
(01:16:24):
something to read a tweet, andso do Why Tony Murk Askediska Sean,
you think these young coaches being promotedtoo quick and always just coming up a
new scheme is part of the problemin the NFL. I do some are
ready, some are and I don'tthink you can force leadership. I've seen
it where a guy's an assistant coachtakes over the leadership role and can't do
it. And some are made perfectlyfor it, like the guy we got
(01:16:45):
here. But you know what,Demiko just didn't fall out of a position
coach and play for and coach forone or two years, then all said
is now a head coach he's beenthrough some things and been on winning programs
as a as an assistant coach, and then as some guys are just built
for it. Josh McDaniels is notbuilt for the head coaching position. He's
just not. I'm not sure. And Nick Sirianni seems to be. Is
(01:17:10):
Jonathan Gannon in Arizona. I don'tknow our guy in San Diego, will
now La does Brandon Staling, Hedoesn't feel like he's built for it.
Sean, this group of this youngSean McVeigh, then Kevin O'Connell in Minnesota,
who's at his ups and downs doinga good job this year. We
get to the point we're so intriguedwith one scheme and the tree of it.
(01:17:31):
You look at the Washington Redskins atthe time, now, the commanders,
at the assistant coaches on that Ohyeah, McVeigh, McDaniel, McDaniel,
Kevin O'Connell. There's like six ofthem now that are head coaches in
the league. Or happened they wereall a tight end coach that are all
head coaches. Now I understand youthink, well, if that guy's smart,
(01:17:53):
the other guy's got to be smart. For instance, I love Mike
McDaniel. I've told you this,But Mike McDaniel is so scheme happy,
which is good. They create spacefor their players. I think they also
lose some of the substance of physicalitybecause they're a big twelve offense. But
he's brilliant. So we get caughtup in the brilliant and saying, Okay,
are they all ready for leadership orsome are and some aren't. So
(01:18:16):
I to me, I do thinkit's a product of everybody wants their scheme
to be a success. We wantyou, Hey, look at Bill Walsh
had this scheme, and then JoeGibbs had this scheme, and look look
what Don Coriel did. Look atAndy Reid's Oh now we got Sean mcvay's.
Man. Oh, you gotta haveKyle Shanahan's run game. See my
(01:18:38):
point. And so I think guysare so caught up in I'm young,
and we as fans and media getway too caught up in that young means
good for coaching. It doesn't onthat Matt and Mike both Then I'm not
saying that Matt, yeah, hewas an assistant in Washington as well.
I'm saying Mike the Packers head coach, and I I'm not saying that young
(01:19:00):
isn't good. In some cases,it's not automatic. You don't always have
to go young for success. AskBaseball, and we saw that happen this
year. It's the same football. If I could care less about age,
If you're thirty five and your leadershipskills, I'm all for it, and
you know how to teach and developplayers, I am all for it and
maximize the building and get buy in. But I'm also if you're seventy and
(01:19:25):
you can do it, which plentyhave. I have a problem with that
either. Was Mike Tomin too oldto coach? Absolutely not. So we
get caught up in Ooh, theassistant Dan Lanning at Oregon. They're winning
there. Matt Rule, Oh,guys, had some NFL experience, goes
the NFL can't coach out of whatyou couldn't coach way out of what we
paid back, goes back, andhe'll be good in college. Eventually Nebraska
(01:19:46):
will win some games. So mypoint is we're always so intrigued with Ooh,
this new system. How much moredo you think you can do in
the NFL with eleven players? Everysingle thing we've thought of somebody's tried to
implement it. The question is takingthe best of all of them, Like
and Andy Reid does. Put itin a pot, melting pot, bring
it out and use this stuff thatyou can apply. I don't. I
(01:20:09):
think we get to the point thatwe're more we want to be cute than
more substance at times. This isn'tan umbrella statement. You'll get a young
guy like Demko off the charts. You'll get a young guy like Staley,
hell of an assistant coach, notready for the not ready for primetime head
coaching. He's just not. Nowhe's learning the second time around, he
may be great. And Bill Belichickwasn't real good the first time around when
(01:20:31):
he did it great second time.Pete Carroll, I mean, the list
goes. Pete Carroll's in his seventies. Think he's pretty good coach, He's
pretty good. So we're so well, I gotta go get a young guy,
know you, you actually don't unlesshe's the best. Oh, I
got a stiff with the old schoolretread. No, no, you don't.
If the old school retread isn't willingto make changes and coach to the
talent and his team get his assout. So yes, I do believe
(01:20:55):
that we're called and not all ofthem. To me, the number one
trade for a head coach has tobe leadership. If you don't have it,
I don't care what you know aboutexercose. I know as much ex's
and o's as you do. I'vebeen around it and played it. I
don't mean it arrogant I do.The question is is your leadership match mine
or vice versa? Can you commanda building I can find, I can
go over here to a local highschool and the head coach knows as much
(01:21:15):
excess to those anybody on a planet. I got a million of them,
Coach Hill, Stephen Hill like amillion of them. The question is can
you take that, apply it tosubstance and bring them all together and get
everybody to buy in? Yeah? Not all of them can. Yeah.
So our guy Matt Williams tweeted usand said, how much of the lack
of development correlates to society. Thefact that players aren't coached hard anymore is
(01:21:35):
because society has changed. Parent involvementhas changed as such, coaching has changed.
In my opinion, you are notallowed to coach anymore. It's come
full circle or very soft. Society'sfinally caught up in the product on the
field in the NFL is exactly whathas been manufactured and cultivated over the last
two decades. And you sports highschool in college. He's one correct.
I don't even know if we canadd to that. Yeah, I can't.
(01:21:56):
I couldn't agree more because you andI both see it. You court
young quarterbacks. I coach fourteen yearold baseball, and I've been around youth
baseball for forever. It's the parentsthat hover and the helicopter parents, and
they are scared to let their kidsfail in whatever. That number one not
being scared to let your kids fail. And you know what, it may
happen, he may fail ten timesgood. The chances are they will good.
(01:22:20):
Agree, and that's Matt is spoton. Why Because it is a
society and coaching are direct parallel, and it's not everybody. When you say
something, well, no, whatabout this. There are a million examples
of great coaches, great teachers inschool. Listen. You can apply it
to teaching. There's plenty of teachersthat listen that don't want to be there,
(01:22:42):
but they have to. And thenthere's the ones that don't want to
be there. And sometimes with theway that school systems and parents, one
person changes the whole because you don'twant to wear a costume to school or
somebody said some so one person getsto dictate the whole school. Now,
and that teacher who's trying to teach, if you're a good teacher right now,
how many of them want to takeon a job like that? Thankless?
(01:23:03):
You're busting your ass preparing lessons,And and the principal supports the kid
who walks in and punches a teacherin the face, right, and you
can't defend yourself, why would youwant to teach? There's some who say,
you know what, I'm gonna winthat kid over. And I love
those types. So you gotta haveguts to do it. Same thing here
society. And if you coach toohard, you're abusive. And when I
(01:23:25):
say coach too hard, I don'tmean hit them, No, I'm talking
about sometimes you got to raise yourvoice. Sometimes you got to shift the
narrative. Sometimes you gotta you gottado what it take. Every kid can't
be coached the same. And Iam one hundred percent agree it's not an
umbrella statement, but I will tellyou that these coaches are not. And
sad thing is too some that arevolunteer coaches, I know they mean well
(01:23:45):
coach as if they've had experience andthey're coaching the wrong thing at an early
age. They're not learning it becauseand we're not paying them, but they
want to they want to throw inand they mad at you for coaching them
right, and then they're not coachingthem right, and so by the time
you get them, you gotta breakall these bad habits. While you're trying
to break it, well, he'snot ready to play yet. What do
you mean he's not ready to playit? My son's a star. Then
they moved to the next one andmoved to the next one. So it
(01:24:08):
all comes. There's some really goodones, but that we're at a time
when you can't teach, you can'tcoach, and if you give tough love,
that's not how we do In twentytwenty three, kiss my ass,
yes it is. Yeah. Inanother we've pussified everything, the worisification of
this country. And it's also evidentin U sports. If a parent doesn't
like what their head coach is doing, they just take them to another program.
(01:24:30):
Well, isn't that what we doin college bingo. I see college
high school guys have transferred three forIt's unbelievable. You couldn't do that back
when I was there. What youcouldn't do it right? If it fits,
to transfer because your kid deserves toplay, I'm all for it because
you're not getting the right shot. But just to transfer because you don't like
the coach, coach and you hardor the parents mad that you my kid
(01:24:51):
give I give twenty thousand dollars tothe Booster. Screw your dedicate your your
pay to the Booster. I don'treally if the principal comes to me or
who what ever school and says, you're playing that kid because dad gave fifty
thousand dollars to the Booster. No, I'm playing that kid if he's better.
I don't care if his dad gavefive million dollars to the Booster club.
If his kid's the third best player, he better find another position or
(01:25:12):
compete harder. And if I can'tcoach him, take your ass out.
I'm not here to pander to arich parent because well, he gave money.
I ain't on that payroll. Whatis it a finder's fee that the
more I can find a booster guyto get the more money I get paid
to play his kid. Nah.Sorry, if you can't take a punch
to the face literally or figuratively, guess what you might want to take two
(01:25:38):
weeks off and find a different sport. And unfortunately some are doing that because
people aren't getting the coaches aren't gettingthe respect they deserve, and some coaches
are quite frankly like players at times, are in it for the money.
Yeah, And I think it alsogoes back to as we get ready to
go to break, I think italso goes back to can you be a
leader of men and women? Ifyou're a teacher or a coach, It
all goes back to being a leaderof men and women And can you lead
(01:25:59):
when it's crappy? Yes, whenyou got to go into a place that
if nobody else wants to go intoand lead those kids, or take the
kids that people want to go intoand find a way to take from everything's
come easy to them, to createan environment where they can handle failure.
That's what a good teacher and coachdoing. The good ones thrive in those
environments. Let's look at some NFLWeek eleven overreactions or reality checks. That's
(01:26:26):
next on Sports Talk seven ninety's TheSalisbury Show with Sean Salisbury and Brian Lima.
On Sports Talk seven ninety I gotSouth shirt. Well they's out the
(01:26:59):
word dah. I know all thebad break out the kicks, but you
damn you, I know all thebad city city treated you talking about some
(01:27:25):
of these this coaching stuff. Righton Q, the Steelers have fired their
offensive coordinator, Matt Canada. Thatcoming from Tom Pelisio, another offensive coordinator
getting fired. That was right onman. I hate to say this ram
you know you don't like to seeit, but that's been Pittsburgh fans have
been pining for this since the startof the season and since he like we
(01:27:48):
won. You know, when youwake up in the morning, the last
thing you want to do if you'reMatt Canada now you lose your job,
don't read social media because I'm justtelling you he had the Burner account.
This is I'm just going to tellyou now there is no assistant coach in
professional football right now that's taking andhas taken more heat from the start of
(01:28:12):
the season to now than him.Yeah, this is inevitable and hate to
say it, but probably like eightweeks too late, and he'll be fine.
Matt knows, but it just hasnot has not worked. That's the
case in point of a guy whojust doesn't get it with the Pittsburgh Steelers
offense. And it was time andit sucks because I hate to see it
(01:28:34):
for coaches, But you know whatpart and parcel to what you do.
Yeah. Yeah, And one ofour loyal listeners and followers on Twitter,
Trey tweeted us, I teach pe. There's no greater feeling than watching the
kid fail for weeks or even months, only for them to finally figure out
how to throw or jump rope.No other class shows the instant gratification.
(01:28:57):
I think that's I was just havinga conversation with one of my assistant coaches
over the weekend when we were playingin the championship. One of the kids
that I have, actually one ofmy probably one of the best athletes I
have on my team, struggled allfall at the plate, and he was
one of the top three hitters inthis big tournament that we played in because
he kept grinding, kept figuring, trying to figure it out, figure it
(01:29:18):
out. He failed, failed, failed, failed, fail, but continued
to roll through and then the tophitter. No concept, right, get
better. Yeah. Another one ofmy players ended up being the MVP of
the tournament and we got second. We didn't win the championship, and he
still won MVP. This past season, not this fall, but the past
season before. He struggled at theplate, making adjustments, continue to grind
(01:29:41):
through, grind through, grind through, and they finally get there. And
when you see kids succeed, thatis one of the best feelings as a
coach to watch some of your playersfail and fail and fail and fail and
boom, finally break through. Thebest feeling is it is And then twenty
years later and they come back andthank you for coaching them tough, Yeah,
and you know they grow up.But I will also say I have
(01:30:03):
to give credits to the parents thatare a part of my team because they
bought into what I'm trying to doas a head coach, and they buy
into letting their kid fail. That'scalled that's the buy in. I'm talking
about it. Every level, doesn'tmatter if it's pop Worner or what you're
teaching, what I'm teaching, itdoesn't matter why, And kudos to those
and their kids and you know what, their kids will always have success,
(01:30:23):
even though the failures will come asout a life sentence right. Failures come
because they let them, and theyallowed the coach and teacher, the reason
why they're on that team allow youto do what you do. Everybody has
a specialty right. Everybody's good atsomething right, and sometimes the best thing
for a parent to do is getup, step up, and move out
the way. Coaching when you're athome that mode, if you're entrusting somebody
(01:30:45):
who may know more about that sportthan you, let them do their work
and let the kid have those youknow, ups and downs with it,
and you're right. So when thekid comes back twenty years later, it
says, thanks coach, but youI comply. I don't. I don't
think there's anything more important than watchinga kids ruggle. And then the light
switch goes on. It doesn't matterif they're in the seventh grade or if
they're twenty seven and they come backto in their eyes get big and they
(01:31:05):
finally figure it out. It's like, that's why you do it, exactly,
that's exactly, that's the only reasonwhy you do. The rest is
gravy, and it's one thing tocoach you guys who's never had failures,
Like this guy's really good and it'sawesome. But you know what, at
some point in time, you aregoing to run into somebody who's better than
you. Yeah, you know what. You know what. The ones that
(01:31:28):
have never failed or might be alittle bit harder to coach because they've never
felt failure before, Well, Igot news for you. At a young
age. You know, you gothrough it and you dominate. If you
never felt failure, I got newsfor it. I wouldn't hold my breath
because guess what you are gonna faceit? Yes, the question is that
how you face it? The questionis what you do when it hit.
(01:31:49):
And some can't handle it. Now, if you've never been through it,
you'll never be able to handle itbecause you don't know what it feels like
to get what How are you gonnarespond? I don't know. Oh,
never had it happen? I'm forty. If you're lucky enough to go that
long without major failure, then Godthend and you're sitting next to the Good
Lord yourself and walking on water.I didn't happen. I don't encourage that
(01:32:12):
like I would encourage getting some failureearly in your life, you, Matt
Sean, because you you personally, could you imagine not failing until you're forty?
Dude? I would never failed likethat. I think I failed like
once before. For Yeah, I'mkidding once. Yeah, that's of course.
And my parents let me. Matterof fact, they encouraged it.
It's okay, go out there anddeal with it. Yeah, and you
(01:32:33):
still don't know if you're ready forit, right, but you know what,
you got no choice. I mean, you can either sit back and
let it happen, or you cango and face it in what do they
say? What's this saying that thebest way to face a fear or face
failure is to jump right back inand go get basically, And I think
it's important you don't have to makeexcuse and you don't have to explain yourself
to everybody as a parent, asa player, or a coach. I
(01:32:56):
don't owe you an explanation every timeI think different than you, exactly,
And if you think you're gonna getone, you could kiss my ass.
I'm not giving it to you.Yeah, I don't have to. Yeah,
I don't know owe you an explanationfor all my decisions yeah, he
ain't lying cut right, I feela cuh okay, cuh, you ain't
gotta cut that bitch off. Youknow what I'm saying, Hey, let's

came down in the NFL has beenfired. Let's get into college football.
Ryan Day, the Ohio State headcoach. Obviously, you've got all the
(01:36:02):
drama going on with Michigan sign stealing. Apparently it was Ryan Day that went
to he was the what what doyou want to call it? A whistleblower
for this Michigan stuff. Well,he was asked about it on WBNS ten
(01:36:27):
TV in Ohio. This is whathead coach Ryan Day had to say.
Yeah, Well, it's it's likethat every year, right, I mean,
this is this game comes comes everyyear and this is how you're evaluated.
We know that, and you know, we've we've learned a lot about
you know, what's gone on inthe last couple of years, and so
we're going to be really prepared toplay in this one. There's been a
(01:36:49):
lot said over the last couple ofyears. There's been a lot going on
the last few weeks, investigation andeverything. You've taken the high road on
the whole thing, and you're continuingto do that. Yeah. I don't
think it does any good to commenton it right now. I think there'll
be a time and place for that. What matters is this game and getting
(01:37:09):
our guys prepared to go win it. That's Ryan Day, the head goes
of Ohio State. He said,we've learned a lot about what's going on
in the last two years, sowe'll be highly prepared. Yeah, meaning
got your ass kicked two straight years, and Ohio State had been kicking Michigan's
asked for a while too. Soit's this makes for great banter. The
first thing that everything, there'll besigns in the stands. What is this
(01:37:30):
game at the big house or oris it? Why do I feel like
it's in the shoe? Is it? Or is it in the big house?
It is? Let me let medon't check that for us, but
you're going to see if Michigan wins, what's there, they're gonna say that
cheated. Of course, cheaters. You've opened that can of worms. If
they lose, gonna say, oh, they had to quit cheating. With
(01:37:51):
the allegation come down so that theWaterhouse they won. Of course you're gonna
hear that. Both teams are loadedwith ability, both coaches are really good.
It's a hardball. It's at Michigan, Okay. So it was to
the Big House, right, theywent and beat him in their building last
year because the year before they smokedhim physically, ran for like four hundred
yards or whatever it was, didMichigan and beat him in ann Arbor.
(01:38:12):
So it's back. Why is thisan eleven am kickoff noon games? Perfect?
I don't. I'd rather watch thenoon game than the seven thirty game.
Really, oh yeah with that one, hopefully it's I'd love it if
it was, Yes, physical,I just like that game because it gets
my Saturday going the right way.I understand we got the big SEC games
(01:38:33):
at two thirty and the night gameswith Herb Street and Fowler and that good,
which I love. But I gotno issue with a noon game.
Get your ass up and get rollingon some holiday. I'm up anyway,
I'm up by seven. You upa noon game, but then at prime
time doesn't equal great football all thetime. Well, big ten, let's
go bitches Oregon State in Oregon. You know what time they're playing Friday night?
(01:38:57):
Probably thirty seven thirty Okay, great, you gotta have some game going
there in time slot. You wantto know what time air Force and Boise
States are playing. I could careless, okay, but let's go.
It's for the air Force. I'mgonna put some respect on him. Yes,
when three o'clock, there you go. So what's wrong with the new
it's not an am right noon eastern? I always speak on Eastern terms because
(01:39:17):
then when I'm looking at the thing, if it's twelve, it's eleven right
after game day? Don't you wantto hit the ground running? No?
Why so, wait a minute.Isn't the first one out of the out
of the out of the shoot thewhole shot the best? No? Not
always. Have you ever been onsix to ten in the morning Monday through
Friday? Who starts this Who startsthis day off? No? Damn you
(01:39:38):
damn right? You put yeah,it starts this day off? Yeah?
We did time six a m weset the tone for everything. Yeah,
absolutely, Well doesn't what about theeleven am kickoff michigan O house date.
Doesn't your day get any better? So when do you want it? Probably
about a three o'clock start. Ithink that'd be perfect. But no,
but you wake up, it's fresh, and then when you just come off
count you got to make yourself abreakfast burrito. You got a bloody mary
(01:39:59):
going, a little chill in theair. You maybe went out and got
your exercise in, walked your doga mile and a half round of blocking,
little bit of breath coming out andthat, and everybody's teet up.
It's friggin go. Now, I'drather have a three o'clock start. Well,
you fall under the soft hearted man, so keep at it. You're
(01:40:20):
we're just talking about people, peoplein society being solved, you know what
the lima Just because you want athree o'clock start, you're soft, just
like I think that's probably the one. Sometimes people don't want to wait up
late for the nine eight o'clock WestCoast game, and then some they want
to get they want to they'd likean appetizer before the because there's no bigger
game than this one. This week, right, But it's gonna be awa
(01:40:44):
be a big one. Yeah, they're all big, but I mean those
when it comes to deciding who's gonnawin what in the conference championship. But
I like the Michigan Ohio State gameand I can't wait till less season a
big ten y although I'm going tomiss the PAC twelve. Affiliation is that
you wake up at noon. NowI don't have to wait all the time
at night. I get to watchSC play Michigan at noon and you'll be
able to actually get the game becausethe PAC twelve networks sucks. And I
(01:41:08):
actually will be in Las Vegas forl s U s C Early season game
next year. That's a game youdon't want to miss. Yeah, I
can't wait for us to go outthere. Oh you mean, oh that's
right. Was there a mouse inyour pocket? There was? Yeah?
Yeah, cops, Will you comebow Jangles? Yes, you're gonna you're
gonna show up? Yes? Sowell, yeah, you're afraid to buy
(01:41:31):
a plane ticket? What I think? You're scared? Man, scared of
what? You're ready tomorrow? You'llbook it right today. That's another thing
I've always it right now exactly whywould not let's go I got Airline miles
even an, Let's go eleven. That's I love that game at noon.
If you really look at some ofthese games on Saturday, they kind of
suck. There's not very many goodgames Friday. There's some good ones.
(01:41:53):
You got UTSA and TWU Lane. That's a two thirty start, too,
well coached shames by guys that don'tget another credit for it. Yeah,

(01:48:09):
eight o'clock West Coast game. Getthat, and then some they want to
get they want to they'd like anappetizer before the because there's no bigger game
than this one. This week, right, But it's going to be awesome
to be a big one. Yeah, they're all big, but I mean
those when it comes to deciding who'sgonna win what in the conference championship.
But I like the Michigan Ohio Stategame, and I can't wait till less
(01:48:31):
season a big ten y although I'mgoing to miss the PAC twelve. Affiliation
is that you wake up at noon. Now I don't have to wait all
the time at night. I getto watch SC play Michigan at noon and
you'll be able to actually get thegame because the PAC twelve network sucks.
And I actually will be in LasVegas for l s U s C Early
season game next year. That's agame you don't want to miss. Yeah,
(01:48:53):
I can't wait for us to goout there. Oh you mean,
oh that's right. Was there amouse in your pocket? There was?
Yeah? Yeah, titles. Willyou come bow Jangles? Yes, you're
gonna You're gonna show up? Yes? So well, yeah, you're afraid
to buy a plane ticket? WhatI think? You're scared? Man,
scared of what? You're ready tomorrow? You'll book it right today. That's
(01:49:15):
another thing I've always with it.Right now exactly why wouldn't I let's go
I got Airline miles, Let's goeleven. That's I love that game.
At News. If you really lookat some of these games on Saturday,
they kind of suck. There's notvery many good games Friday. There's some
good ones. You got UTSA andtwo lane. That's a two thirty start,
too well coached, shames by guysthat don't get enough credit for it.
(01:49:38):
Yeah, Jeff Trailer with utsa,Uh, what's his name? Coach
Fritz down at TWU lane, WillWilberfritz. Yeah, Texas Tech at Texas
at six thirty on Friday, andyou got Oregon State Oregon seven thirty on
Fox. That's a Friday night andthen Saturday. Really, outside of Ohio
State and Michigan, there's not alot of good games. Let me go
(01:50:01):
down here, keep going, keepgoing. Washing to say Washington, that's
a rivalry game. Obviously, we'regonna be watching to see if the Huskies
win. Florida State and Florida. The Florida State doesn't have their quarterback Notre
Dame in Stanford. Stanford's gone awful, so Notre Dame should take care because
none of that there's really not anygood games on Saturday. All of them
are on Friday, a lot allof them, but a couple of them
on Friday. So let's just bellyup, let's go. What do you
(01:50:25):
want to do. I'm at aparty and then Sunday, you know,
hopefully we're gonna be at an EnergyStadium tailgateon I don't what do you got
to do? Coach baseball? No, no, we're done fall season.
It's what the false scene is overcoach baseball playing some tournament where we come
up short of a chip. Herewe go. We finished eighteen six.
You know what, you know whattwo second place finishes, a semi final
(01:50:46):
appearance in one Louisiana and it championship. We beat four of the top ten
teams in the state of Texas thisseason, because you know why, we
are now a top ranked team. But you know what, actually here in
the city and in the state countfourteen. You Bandido's black twenty twenty eight.
Put some respect on our damn name. I almost dropped the F bomb.
Who's what's up? But who's counting? And you know what, we
don't pick up players. We don'thave twenty twenty seven athletes. We've got
(01:51:08):
all twenty twenty eight's okay, youknow that, soapbox, let it rip?
Why not? I got a teamup for I got twelve kids on
my team. We don't pick upplayers. We don't go bounce around teams.
It's homegrown right here. You Soyou draft, you got it right
there there here in the system inthe city. You're there in the baseball
farm system, going up through thesystem, and when they're ready to thrive,
(01:51:29):
they're doing it right there under rightright under your guys. If you
think about it, and I knowyou probably have some thoughts on this,
if you think about it, infourteen you youth baseball here in the city,
there's some really really talented players. There's twenty twenty sevens that are still
eligible to play fourteen you, butthey're freshmen in high school and they're playing
down with fourteen you kids. Eighthgraders play up exactly, play with fifteen
to sixte in you. But whatwe saw here in the city all fall
(01:51:50):
along is four teams with nine twentysevens on their team. And you know
what, we beat their ass too. There you go, let's go there,
you go, go, be done, passion. It's good Thanksgiving week
here's the way I look at yourteam. Belly up, here's why I
look at your team. You're onlyas good as your last performance. We
(01:52:10):
got second. Guess what got smacked? What? You're just you know what
second place is? We lost? What five? The second place is?
Many Manuel, it's just the lastloser. It is exactly right. People
say that. It's like like webattle, we battle. Oh, we
finished second. You're just the lastloser. It's only one team got well,
(01:52:31):
the last know, the first loserlost early in the tournament. Okay,
so yeah we're the last last game. Okay, I got you.
But here's the way I look atit is that, but not the way
society. But we're gonna give youa trophy anyway. No, we did
not. We did. We saidno to the rings. If you're not
winning chips, h huh, gobuy a bag exactly okay, go get
you to get the step in.Yeah, I'm with you. You did
(01:52:56):
a great job. So, oh, I figured you were gonna say,
Sean, I can't well game. No, man, I gotta go coach
batting practice, teach our guy togo gap to gown. No, we're
off season right now. Yeah, yeah, we got we got you're ready.
It's all football. A time itis you know what time it is?
Time for for h let's see youdon't have anything? No, no,
(01:53:17):
it's time to really take us aboutthree or four minutes off right.
So yeah, we got about uh, I don't know, ten seconds before
we get to break. Gotta stayon time, stay on time. Okay,
yep, yeah, we've got Martyand Biscuit on hole. We'll get
to you guys next. Let's hearabout from here from Jim Harbaugh, the
head coach University Missigan. A bunchof cheaters? What do you have to
(01:53:38):
say about Ryan Day in this bigtime matchup Ohio State Michigan. That's next
on the Sewn Salisbury Show. Thisis this Sewan Salisbury Show. Yes,
yes, that's very nice. Nowwith that fresh leather scent. On Sports
Talk seven ninety, I got acondo women baby girl's showing up right,
(01:54:06):
so done gets a cabin to performturn around in John drop A found it
pigs out in my way, goodwin. No, Jimmy's the seventh Dinna
talking college football. Got a bigmatch up this weekend Ohio State Michigan in
(01:54:26):
the Big ten, huge rivalry gameall of the drama surrounding Michigan in their
cheating scandal. Billy Wagner, formerastro's legend on the twenty twenty four Hall
of Fame ballot, Rockets fall tothe Warriors. Eagles be the chiefs of
money and no football. We're gonnahear some audio from Jim Harbor, the
head coach the Michigan Wolverines. Butbefore we get to that, let's get
to the phone lines seven one, three, two point two five seven hind
of the start with Marty. Marty, good morning, Hey, good morning
(01:54:50):
doing what's up man? How youfeeling Hey, I'm feeling beautiful. Many
thanks, Hello, Billy Wagner forme, Man and uh Sean love you
as always. But let me tellyou I must have didn't tell you.
I must have been. I musthave been. I know, I know
I'm gonna I know this has alreadybeen said, but I know I'm beating
(01:55:10):
the dead horse. But you know, man, I must have woke up
in the damn time war I'm gonnatell you something, Man, Since when
did uh are stealing signs of footballbecome illegal? I mean, on the
sidelines, you see them throwing upall these double sides and listen. I'm
listen. I know that the thatthe helmets with leather when I when I
was playing my football and all thatkind of stuff. Man, But we
(01:55:31):
was We was always trying to shieldfrom being scouted and being people stealing our
plays. And now when did thisbecomes such a big deal. Man,
I just don't get it. Man, I just don't get it. First
they go after the Astros. Nowthey're going after Michigan. You know,
I just don't get it. Moneyand maybe I'm maybe I'm late to the
(01:55:53):
party, but this man should notbe suspended and having his whole coaching career
being screwinized just because he stole. If you ain't treating, you ain't trying.
And I know that and maybe alittle clicheoish, but I'm just all
hang up and listen. We appreciateit, Marty. You've got to love
a good cliche Sean. And it'shard for me to criticize. I get
(01:56:15):
what he's saying that we all tryto you're trying to get that advantage.
I think the problem is is thatwe when technology is involved, we haven't
allowed that. I don't to me, A rule that needs to be dropped
is you're not allowed to advance scoutcollege football. I think that's stupid.
(01:56:35):
If you want to buy a ticketfor a guy on your staff and send
him to watch Ohio State play Iowa, that's scouting. Yes, that's scouting.
I don't understand problem. That's thedumbest thing I've ever heard. You
know, middle school coaches do thatfor the high school coaches. Listen,
go to one of those games. You'll see four or five of them sitting.
I've seen it at Pop Warner. My brother and my one of my
(01:56:56):
best friends when they were coaching PopWarner, they'd go watch the opposing team
they were going to play next weekafter their game, stick around and watch
that game. Why they want tosee what they're gonna get. It goes
all the way back then. Idon't have a problem with you going and
scouting me and taking a notepad inthe stands and write down every single sign
you saw. I don't have problemchange your freaking sign I think for me
waltzing in with a tape and tryingto get on my sidelines and running a
(01:57:20):
video of our hands signals is probablya tad bit overboard. Now, well,
smart ones change their signs all thetime they wears with the little camera
in it, or you know what, you get better you get instead of
four guys in four different how aboutthose guys got four from Wigwagen college signals
that you got a red put fifteenon him, on him and then use
(01:57:45):
who the live indicator guy is right? So to me, I get what
he's saying. But the technology part, and unfortunately it is a rule,
so right now you got to buyby it. But to me, telling
me I can't advance scout in collegesports is a dumb at thing I've ever
heard. I agree, But there'salso a fine line between scouting and cheating.
Of course, you know what,no doubt what Connor Stallions did for
(01:58:08):
Michigan. That's straight up cheating, right And to think allegedly, of course,
yeah, allegedly so they say so, they tell us, yeah,
so yeah, I'm with you onehundred percent. Let's get out the biscuit.
What's that biscuit? Hey man?Happy Thanksgiving to you, My brothers
trying to get to that shine.I don't think he's still been by me
to get that yams man. I'mtelling you you've been bragging on those for
(01:58:30):
a minute. Brother, I hearyou. I hear you. Yeah,
hey, hey Lalima. Uh inthe Midwest and in the East, Man,
we want to get the game inearly man, when the sun is
up and everything is going good.Man. We don't want to wait the
sun go down and get cold andall that. Now, Man, were
kicking it off at twelve high noon. Baby, I'm with you. Yeah,
I'm with you now, Sean.Uh, it just came to me,
(01:58:54):
Shane, I think you know myboy Cam Shane. Did you have
a cross paths with Cam Cam Camerahim the one that coach uh, he
coached in the NFL a few yearshe was at Michigan for a minute,
my cousin. Yah, yeah,yeah, I didn't know you. I
thought you talking about local absolutely, yes, yeah, so uh but what
brings me to camras Sean? WhenI was like in like eighth grade or
(01:59:15):
because Cam was you're wrong along withyou guys, I was a little behind
y'all, and we had uh andthe game of the week in our high
school, the two rivals played eachother, and one of the guys on
our team, uh the north side, sat Campbells on the south side,
and they tapled him and he fumbledthe ball and the guy picked it up
right, but he ran the wrongway Sean for a touchdown for the team,
(01:59:36):
and he lived. He still didthis day. We called him wrong
way Rudy man. And the pointI'm getting to Seane what played, because
I'm thinking the scanning last night, man blowing that catch and losing the game
and the whole world watching what play? Do you remember that you had a
gas or you messed up in abig moment, and just to this day
(01:59:59):
you're like, man, you seewhen you see your buddies again, y'all
on that man, Remember that timeyou had to wide o't miss shot and
you shot the airball? Man.So I was just curious to you know,
because the gas man. I'm thanksthis scandaling one to live that now
until he makes a catch you knowbig time it is that is, Biscuit,
thanks for the call. That isso frigged true and it's all in
good fun now, but it wasn'tfun and it never leaves you well.
(02:00:21):
I've never missed a throw or madea mistake, so I wouldn't know what
that fit. No, I'm kiddingplenty of them, Biscuit. I'm thinking
in in the and I'm thinking atevery level of because I remember the bad
ones more than the I mean thegood ones. You always remember the one
you could have had. I couldtell you, although it didn't label me
(02:00:43):
a nickname. At basketball and baseball, you know you strike out in that.
I'm trying to think in football,we're the one where you're like,
you can't, you can't let itgo. There's plenty of times when I
say, please, I want thatthrowback right. I missed him on a
flat route. I had a cornerroute, but then I threw it out
of the end zone. I youknow, well, I can think of
one in the CFL. We wenton, threw for a five hundred and
(02:01:06):
ninety yards or whatever it was,and six touchdowns. I don't mean that
arrogant, but you know what,I had three guys opening the end zone
on three other throws just went outof their hands that I missed. We
had nine touchdowns. Dude. Itwas one of those days where I could
have closed my eyes and made thethrow right. I guess for me,
(02:01:26):
Biscuit, it goes back to highschool. The one that sticks with me
the most. Trust me along theway. I never made that mistake where
somebody gave you the dictave like RogwayRoy or whatever you call it classic.
I've had plenty of times where theysaid, damn, Sean, remember we
had that just missed that jump shot, or just you know, miss that
throw. Oh yeah, there's nodoubt. The one that sticks out to
(02:01:48):
me we were playing Poway High School, which is a cross A team in
our division. We are on theroad going down to score, and we
were inside to five yard line, inside the yard line, and I fumbled
the center snap. Now, whoever'sfault it was, doesn't matter, it's
my job to get it, laidit on the ground. They recovered,
we lost the game, And tothis day, of all my high school
(02:02:12):
plays, I'm still bothered by that. Of all the college plays, I
missed plenty of throws. You couldthrow the interception, or you throw a
pick six. Every one of usthat's ever played the positions thrown a pick
six in the NFL. You missedthe throw that you say, damn I
caught, or you had a gamethat you didn't it just didn't go well
and you got beat. I've hadplenty of those two. And then there's
(02:02:33):
that game where you feel like you'restruggling, but you grind it. Out
and win, and you're more proudof that than you are when you threw
for four hundred yards. But inhigh school, the ball hit my hand.
I can't even remember how it happened. I just know, I mean
of where the ball hit on myhand. But my jobs to get the
ball fumble the center exchange, whichshould never happen, and I laid it
on the ground. And to thisday, I think that was a difference
(02:02:54):
in us getting to the playoffs andgoing deep as opposed to not. And
that bothers me to this day.Other than that some throws that I missed
and stuff, there's there's plenty ofthose, but the one that bothers me
the most. Now, I'm surethere's times when a player says, damn,
Sean, I was wide open andyou missed me. But that's just
part and parstor but that when yougo the wrong way, that's one of
(02:03:15):
those blatant mistakes, right, Oryou're all of a sudden running into his
end zone and your trip and fault, or you're going up to dunk and
you and you hit the front ofthe rim and miss the dunk. Those
type of things, right, Yeah, I would say that those I mean,
that's happened a ton of people. For me, it was it was
that fumble when it was my faultfor laying it on the ground because the
quarterback you just can't I and Ito this day, I've never forgotten it.
(02:03:39):
I never I'll know where I couldtell exactly where it is on the
field and when it happened and howit happened. What did Jim Harball have
to say about Ryan Day and thecoach of staff at Ohio State. That's

League Baseball, the Rockets fall tothe Warriors. Eagles beat the Chiefs.
(02:06:17):
In Monday night football, Michigan OhioState. Huge rivalry, matchup, playoff
implications on the line in college footballthis Saturday morning, it's an eleven am
kickoff. Jim Harbaugh talked about thecoaching staff at Ohio State. This is
(02:06:39):
what the head coach of Michigan hadto say. It's uh, it's all
about our preparation for Ohio. Youknow, the days, the minutes,
the hours everything leading up to thisgame. You know, that's where our
focus is preparing ourselves and planning, gonna practice and then execute. So uh,
(02:07:02):
I mean anything else is irrelevant, you know when you get into this
kind of this kind of big gameweek. M So, he was asked
about the coaching staff, and hesaid, everything else is irrelevant, kind
of swerving around. Not want totalk about Ryan Day. A little cheap
shot in there too. Ohio Thatwas what I gathered from it. Instead
(02:07:27):
of saying Ohio State, he calledhim Ohio, which was which is just
enough to get well two guys thatdidn't go to Ohio State, Me and
you enough for me to think,oh, that wasn't by chance. No,
there's a both have a condescending approachto it that I understand. It's
Michigan Ohio State. They're not supposedto love each other, right, you
(02:07:49):
can't love both. You choose andlet's go who you like in the game.
I would think Michigan. But manif Marvin Harrison starts to run rampant,
I'll tell you what's been concerning thelast two weeks. The play calling
(02:08:11):
in the passing game, they havenot been effective at all. Throwing the
football Michigan I'm talking about, andthey haven't thrown it much. I guess
they haven't had to. But you'regonna need to throw the ball a little
bit this week. I think Michiganwins. I think Michigan is the better
team, but not by much. And some would argue in Ohio State,
(02:08:31):
like I said, last two years, Ryan Day, it hadn't been kind
to him. I would imagine they'llhave something. But I love this.
Let's get this thing rolling a punchto the face at noon eleven o'clock our
time. That's the way you startyour day and wake up, and let's
get it on. So cannot weighthis heavyweight fight now. Against Maryland,
they won thirty one twenty four JJMcCarthy twelve to twenty three, one hundred
(02:08:52):
and forty one yards, throwing thefootball, one interceptions. On the ground,
Michigan ran it forty five times kormtwenty eight carries for ninety four yards
and two touchdowns. That means youdon't have to throw it much. But
they're gonna need to throw up morethan that this week. Forty five times.
Yep, wow, yep. Let'slook back at against Penn State.
They won twenty four fifteen. Well, I mean, what in the hell?
(02:09:16):
JJ McCarthy seven of eight throwing thefootball, no touchdowns, no interceptions.
They ran it forty six times.Blake corn twenty six carries one hundred
and forty five yards, two touchdowns, Donovan Edwards ten carries fifty two yards,
one touchdown. Just stop the rush, Ohio State. Yeah, JJ
McCarthy beats you rather than Blake kormIt will be tough to do. Just
(02:09:39):
to stop the rush. Sounds easy, though, doesn't it? Man?
Dude? Forty six times sounds easy? What do you like about Ohio State
in that game? Versatile, greatspeed on the perimeter. They can score
a lot of home run hitters, and they're we always think Michigan physical.
(02:10:01):
Ohio State's pretty physical upfront, andthey too can wear you outrun the football.
This could be a real short, quick game if they want to run
it. I like the receivers moreat Ohio State. I like the physicality
of Michigan upfront. It's gonna bewho gets a stop and forces field goal
in the red zone as opposed togiving up touchdowns. Yeah. Like,
I go back to the Ohio Stateagainst Penn State game. Kyle McCord was
(02:10:24):
twenty two to thirty five. Theyran the football forty one times. Mayan
Williams for Ohio State twenty four carriessixty two yards than a touchdown, So
a little more throwing the football forOhio State compared to what Michigan does.
And let's see against Minnesota, Imean they blew him out of the water
thirty seven to three. Kym accordtwenty thirty two hundred and twelve yards passing
(02:10:48):
two touchdowns, Trevon Henderson fifteen carriesfor one hundred and forty six yards.
They ran the football thirty five times. A little more complimentary football in that
game, but again it was ablowout thirty seven to three. Marvin Harrison
only had three receptions a Mecca Agbukafive receptions eighty three yards. So I
don't don't know. Maybe maybe Iwould lean a little more towards Ohio State.
(02:11:11):
I'm anxious to see if both games, if both teams could stop the
run, then who's got the advantage. That's what I'm anxious to see.
Remember three weeks ago, JJ McCarthywas the leading candidate to win the Heisman
Trophy. Yet people are saying, well, who have they played. They
are not overly battle tested this year. Yeah, Michigan that ends on Saturday.
(02:11:33):
They will be battle tested in thisgame, and I would imagine they'll
be ready for it. If you'reSean Moore, do not get too cute
in the game plan of this.Go do what Michigan does, and you're
gonna have to throw the ball towin. You're not gonna You're not gonna
be able to throw it eight timesand beat Ohio State. You're gonna have
to make more plays with your armtoo. Let's get out to the phone
line seven one, three, two, two, five, seven eights,
go to Will Hey, Will Hey, good morning guys, thanks for taking
(02:11:58):
my call. I got a couplethings. One, Uh what are what?
What need? What kind of needsto happen? You know, if
Texas continues to win to win thebit Twell title, who needs to lose?
Who do you see losing? Whatwould what it takes for Texas to
get into the college playoff? Second, the this that uh wrong way Rudy
(02:12:24):
guy. That that had me laughingout loud, and it kind of it
kind of reminds me of that videoof the throw it in reverse Terry with
the fireworks and the wheelchair guy.Yeah, put it in reverse. Yeah,
put in reverse, Terry. Butuh, and it's just I don't
have any like a nickname for it, but I just remember something like I'll
be sleeping in laying in bed andthis pops up in my head from ten
(02:12:46):
years ago, and it just I'membarrassed by myself. But I wouldn't.
My buddy who actually fights in theUFC now or got out of it.
But he he played in a ina tournament softball league and they needed an
extra player, and I'm talking aboutthis is like high level tournament where they
hit the ball so hard it's likescary. So I show up. The
(02:13:07):
only thing I wanted was like, don't put me at third base. They
put me at third base. SoI got like bruises and stuff all on
my chest, just everywhere. Well, we're losing by one run and there's
one minute left, and so we'rejust trying to get the last out and
this guy hits a bullet to myleft and I just closed my eyes and
(02:13:28):
I threw my hand up and Isnatched it, and everybody in the stands
went crazy because you know, likeit gives us a chance to come in
and we're a good hitting team, and I get it and I take it
and I throw it forty feet over. That's over the first the first base
sence and uh, and we lost. And it's something that hawks me every
single day because it's just it's it'sso embarrassing that I just, uh,
(02:13:52):
I don't think I stepped on asoftball field after that. But it's no
wrong way, Rudy. But it'ssomething that will stick with me forever.
Isn't it an amazing thanks call?Isn't it amazing the things that we remember
and that that bother us. Yeah, something that's silly at a at a
softball game with your buddies, andit doesn't go away. I'll tell you
(02:14:13):
how. Well, let's talk abouthow Michigan, how the big mission,
how Texas gets in, Okay,we come back. Yeah, let's discuss
that and look at these college footballplayoff implications with the big weekend coming up.
That's next on Sports Talk seven ninety. Hey, it's good. Listen
to every game anywhere on the iHeartRadio. Sports Talk seven ninety it's home
(02:14:39):
of your Rockets. The Sean SalisburyShow continues on your game console. Listen
to Sports Talk seven ninety on anydevice with our free iHeartRadio AMP. I
like a longheaded pig. We boundopen up, putting up. If they're
(02:15:01):
mean. Down, I'm a I'ma gin in nip if she if she
let me in, I'm a.How does the University of Texas get into
the College Football Playoff? What implicationsdoes Ohio State and Michigan have on that?
You're asking me to create some scenariosfor you. Yeah, we did
(02:15:24):
a couple of yesterday. Well, first way to get in is not to
lose again. Correct, you loseagain, you can put your head between
your legs and kiss your national titlehopes goodbye. All Right, Yep,
yep, that's one. Gotta betech. Gotta win the Big Twelve Championship.
Correct, there's one two, Sowe're assuming they they're winning their next
(02:15:46):
two. Correct, they get tothe come out of the Big Twelve Championship
undefeated. Correct. Who are theygonna play? Oklahoma State? I think
that appears that way. I don'tknow if somebody's still in the mix,
but it's Texas, Oklahoma State,Oklahoma, Kansas State. Okay. So
with that, I'm assuming you're toanswer his question that you're going to tell
(02:16:09):
me that they win the Big TwelveChampionship. Correct, Oklahoma State's got BYU
left, so I'm assuming they're goingto be Okay, So Big Twelve Championship,
the Texas is going to win thatfair So they're the representative of the
Big twelve. Now do they getto go to the Final four? One
is they've taken care of that. You have to, in my opinion,
you have to hope that Georgia beatsAlabama because if Georgia does not beat Alabama
(02:16:35):
in the SEC title game, youare going to have to compete with it.
You're that's one team you're going tohave to compete with Alabama. I
mean with Georgia. A one lostGeorgia team still is as viable as hell
getting in I'm talking about from thecommittee's standpoint. And if people have to
(02:16:56):
say, oh, Georgia gets beatby Alabama, scrooge. No, It's
not as simple as just running themout of the building. I'm just telling
you there's going to be a groundswell in that room that george is still
one of the four best teams inthe country. If Alabama beats them,
you do need that. The truthis, you'd mean for Georgia. You
(02:17:20):
want Georgia to win because that eliminatesAlabama in the SEC champ because the winner
of the SEC championships going. IfAlabama wins, you may damn well get
two. So George is going tobe a competitor if they lose. Secondly,
you probably would love Oregon to winthe Big twelve. I mean,
(02:17:41):
the truth is you'd love you'd lovesomebody else's step in and or you'd love
Oregon to lose this week or towin this week or lose. Should I
say lose and Washington to lose becausethe two loss Oregon team is not going
to I don't think a one lossWashington team if it's to Oregon, I
(02:18:01):
don't think a one loss Washington team'sgoing A one loss Oregon team may because
their loss was earlier. Now theyget a chance against Washington one of six
weeks ago, whatever it was,if they go win. But if Oregon
is the representative for the PAC twelve, you're still in the mix. But
that's another competitor. If Washington goesundefeated, do you've eliminated that? The
(02:18:22):
truth is the easiest way to getin for Texas to I could give you
a million Stars. The easiest wayto get in. Georgia win Michigan,
Ohio State winner PAC twelve winner,Louisville beats Florida State, Texas wins a
Big twelve. They're in and theACC is left out. The simplest way,
(02:18:45):
if you're a University of Texas,Washington, run the table Michigan or
Ohio State, whoever wins there, and Georgia to win out to eliminate Alabama,
and for Florida State to get beatby Louisville, you are in the
final four. Now, there's otherways you can get in. That's the
simplest way, and quite frankly, may very well be the one way.
(02:19:09):
Let's just say Georgia beats Alabama,Louisville beats Florida State without the quarterback,
Texas takes care of their business, the Big ten winners going. Georgia's gone,
right, We've already got that settled. Let's say Oregon goes on and
wins a PAC twelve championship with onewin, and let's say Florida State goes
on and wins the ACC undefeated. Now what you don't want then, Now
(02:19:31):
that's a problem. That's a bigproblem because recency buyas for Oregon beating a
Washington team and Florida State finding away to win without their quarterback over Louisville,
which I think Louisville is going tobe favored. They may. I
mean, now you're Texas. Nowyou've got three people for one spot,
(02:19:52):
three for one because Michigan. Itake that back, three for two,
right, because Michigan. If Washingtonwins, it's three for one if Michigan.
If Oregon wins the Pack twelve championshipin Michigan and Ohio State and Georgia
win, I believe with all myheart an undefeated Washington team's an automatic bid.
And there's a lot of people JerryPalm and considering that thinks that if
(02:20:13):
Oregon runs the table and wins thePac twelve Championship, that they're in.
To me, the best and simplestway for Texas is Georgia, Washington and
the winner of the Big Ten toall take care of their business and for
Florida State to get beat by Louisville. Texas is in. If that's the
case, If it's Oregon and FloridaState that are still in the mix with
(02:20:35):
Texas and the Big Ten winner andthe SEC winner are automatically going. You
want that to be Georgia if you'reTexas. Because of Alabama wins, Georgia
is still in play for the finalfour. And there is a very very
simple, I mean, it's stillvery viable that what two conferences could represent
four teams. That's crazync Oregon State'sCape beat in Oregon. Washington capably beaten
(02:21:01):
Washington if both those were to happenthis weekend, the Pac twelve's done.
Florida State gets beat by Louisville, that very very reasonable that should happen.
Louisville is not going. Florida State'sout. If Texas were to lose one
of these two games, lose thisweek or losing the Big twelve championship game,
(02:21:22):
Texas is out with two losses, and that would mean Michigan, Ohio
State, Alabama, Georgia. IfAlabama beach Georgia, those four teams are
going. Do you understand what I'mtelling you? Yeah, A one loss
Washington's team, a two loss Oregonteam are not going in front of Georgia.
If Georgia gets beat by Alabama andif Alabama beach Georgia, there is
no way on God's Green Earth thatAlabama with one loss is being left out.
(02:21:45):
I don't care if it's Texas oranybody else. The winner of the
SEC title game is going. Ifit's Alabama, Georgia is still in play.
If Georgia wins, Alabama's out.Texas needs to hope for Washington,
Georgia, and the winner of theBig Ten to all take care of the
business. Their biggest hope is winand let Louisville take care of Florida State
and you don't have to then thenall those factors don't come into play.
Texas is automatically in big win overAlabama. One loss, Big Twelve champion
(02:22:09):
ACC misses out and the other twoare in. Another three are in.
Yeah, and Florida State's gonna haveto do that without their quarterback. Jordan
Travis says, broken is like he'sgoing to be out, So they're going
to be on a backup quarterback. And Louisville's hot right now. They have
played probably some of the best footballin all of college football. I told
you, I don't think there's ateam in America that's being talked about less
(02:22:30):
that's been this good. And it'sgonna make that it should go on and
beat the undefeated Florida State team withouttheir quarterback. They should now I don't
know if they will, but ifthey do, Texas just has to take
care of their business and they arein. Unless this happens, Washington wins
Big Ten winner Alabama beach Georgia. It comes down now comes if if Florida
(02:22:52):
State get beat by Louisvie. Nowcomes down to two choices. Will the
committee go Texas with one loss Georgiaif one losses the SEC runner up that
most think it's still the best teamin the country even if Alabama beats them.
I'm not saying Texas shouldn't go.Texas should go. I'm just telling
you a one loss Georgia team inthat committee there, if it's a walk
(02:23:13):
off kick by Alabama, people arestill going to believe that Georgia is the
best team in America. In around robin type tournament right in the final
four. It is not out ofthe woods. If Texas wins and Georgia
loses, so that would be AlabamaWashington. Let's say they run the table
and Michigan Ohio State would be outand the winner of the Georgia even if
(02:23:37):
they lost in Texas, it wouldcome down to two teams of Louisville takescare
of Florida State. Of all that, the truth is, I think Florida
State would be the weakest entrance, especially without their quarterback. Definitely, if
they go undefeated, I'm still notsure they're going. Who would you take
a number an undefeated Florida State.I'm not talking about because well, they
won their conference championship. Who's abetter football team undefeated Florida State without their
(02:23:58):
quarterback or Georgia Georgia with one lossGeorgia. So if you're in the committee,
is it an easy decision for you? There's no process as the conference
champion has to go, right, george is the better team. I almost
the better team even if they hadalmost feel like could be Cincinnati playing like
they did a couple of years ago. If it was Florida State without their
quarterback, I think Georgia would bea seventeen point favorite over them. Yeah,
(02:24:22):
I do, I agree, Sodepends on how you look at it.
Yeah, definitely, let's keep talkingcollege football. DUKEEAD coach Mike Elko

will be this Saturday big one obviouslywith their rivalry. We heard some audio
(02:27:28):
from Jim Harball, Ryan Day alittle bit of pettiness from both of them.
Mike Elko, the head coach ofDuke, sent a warning to the
college football world regarding the transfer portal, and Shawnee said, quote, We're
probably about thirteen days away from completeanarchy in the Wild West. It's literally
open free agency for all of collegefootball. I don't know that anyone is
(02:27:54):
immune to what is going on inthe transfer portal. It just is what
it is, and you've got toput together a strategy to retain your players,
and nil is a big part ofit. End quote. Who said
that, Mike Elko? He ud, Yeah, he is. Mike's correct.
I Uh, I've thought about itmore and more matter of fact that
(02:28:16):
I think about it every day becausewhen you train them and you think about,
you know, quarterbacks and just watchingcollege football, and I get asked
all the time, as do you. I'm sure how you feel about it.
This won't be popular with some.I'll be honest with you, though,
I think the transfer portal is Whileit helps a team, if you
get four seniors that are going tohelp you win, it's great. I
(02:28:37):
think the transfer portal mix in withname, image and likeness the way we're
going about it. Not that theydon't deserve to be paid, because you
know how I am bless you.I feel like they should be. But
I think that we've talked about regulatingit. The slippery slope that all this
is involved. It seemed like itchanged so fast that we weren't ready for
it. I actually think that thetransfer portal and name, image and likeness
(02:28:58):
are ruining college football, not thetalent. If people bailing like crete,
well, hey the kid could beable to go fight. No, and
I got a problem. If bythe fifth time you've transferred and it's not
working for you, you know whatI have to tell you. Probably,
well, maybe time to think aboutsomething else. I know that sounds harsh.
(02:29:20):
Yeah, but it's like the quarterbackat Rice, what's his name,
TJ? I mean Daniels? Howmany teams? This is his fourth?
Four? Listen, I understand whenpeople say, well, let him chase
the dream. Well, at leastwith a coach that leaves there is a
buyout. Is there a way wecan instill grades and academics with name,
(02:29:45):
image and likeness in the transfer portalif you're not academically I don't even say
it thriving with like For instance, let's say you're making a two point five.
If you're making less than a twopoint five, should we just mean?
I guess My point is, isthere any way we can tie transfer
(02:30:07):
portal and name, image and likenessinto academic not achievement or academic dedication meaning?
And I don't know what the ruleis. If you're making a g
if your GPA is sub two pointzero or two point twenty five, I
don't think you're eligible. I wouldn'tthink so. No, So I can't
remember. If it's you see average, you are, But if it's either
(02:30:28):
a two point or two point five, you have to be above to be
eligible in NCAA Division I two orthree. I know they've changed it over
the years, and the transfer portaland with name, image and likeness get
I listen, I'll never subscribe toa high school senior leaving and without playing
to drop somebody gives him cash togo to that university. That's not what
(02:30:48):
name, image and likeness was builtfor. And it's sure as hell.
I think we're cheating more now ruleswise, because it's such a broad spectrum
that how what would you know rightnow? Somebody's given hand to hand cash
but saying it's a name as anendorsement, but you're not doing anything for
it. How are they checking that? I don't think they are. So
(02:31:11):
I got a problem with that.I don't a problem with kid gettingaid.
And when people say, well, coaches can leave whatever they want, Yeah,
for it's fifteen million dollar buyout,So there is some sacrifice by the
university that has to be made. And I do understand why kids transfer.
You got hurt, you're not gettinga chance in high school college. I
get it. But at some pointin time, if you're not hurt and
you transfer four times, do youhave a problem with that? Yeah,
(02:31:33):
you're not hurt and you're through fourtimes. Right, just because you get
beat out and you get beat outand you beat out, keep going,
Yet you still want to go toPower five. Maybe if you get beat
out three times, maybe it's timeto step down a notch and go play
Division two football, right, whichis finely, there's nothing wrong with it.
There's great football played at every level. I guess my point is,
I don't know how. I don'tknow the answer, but I do know
(02:31:56):
this that the conflict is even thoughcoaches are benefiting from name it like like
I said, Mike Krzyzewski used tohate one and Doun's he didn't. Yeah,
but guess what he started to do. Although you can hate something and
still benefit from it. I don'tthink name, image and likeness is the

not And there's got to be protectionof the companies, not just the kid.
If you're going to leave and yousign this deal name members likeness with
us, and you want to goto another school because you're not playing,
but you're a five star guy that'smaking a half a million bucks. There's
got to be a way that youjust don't get to take that with you,
(02:39:30):
maybe in a trust that if youstay at the school for two years
you get to grab I don't knowwhat the answer is. I'm trying to
grab back and how do we tietransfer portal into academics to where by a
certain point in time. You gotto understand that if you're transfer four times,
you may not be an NFL player. You may resilient stick with it.
I just don't subscribe to you gotbeat out transfer, You get beat
(02:39:52):
out transfer, You get beat out. I understand you're a fifth year senior
and you can transfer because you knowwhat you estyle of eligibility left and you're
not going to play there there givingit to a sophomore five star go play.
I get it. I just Ithink we're at a slippery slope.
There's a way for the kid towin name, image and likeness and transfer
portal without it being like they saythe Wild West, where watch when this
hits dude, we're in two weeks. It is going to be ridiculous.
(02:40:15):
We got guys that are starting ata school and leaving to go get more
money because they're collective. Is bigger, right, and you're a junior.
Is there a little bit something wrongwith that? A little bit? Yeah?
I want everybody to win, butand I please don't. I don't
want to hear the woe is mefor the twenty year old anyway. I
don't he's just a kid. No, he's actually not. If he's out
(02:40:39):
drinking with his friends on Thursday night, he's old enough to understand that he
got beat out, work harder, yeah, or smarter, whatever it is.
But I think there's got to bea way to name manage. I'm
all for you selling Jersey, getpaid, a way when to get it,
and the transfer portal of when youcan and when you can't, and
how many trans I don't think youshould be allowed to transfer four times without
sitting out. Shouldn't be a atleast a limit on it. Yes,
(02:41:01):
So to me, I'm just Ithink that it is made. We used
to be able to be loyal toa college football program. Now it's like
the end of I don't know ifa guy's going to be there. He
could be in three different schools inthree years. Free agency it is,
and we're playing pro football on thecollege level. Yeah, it's free agency.
I just don't like it. Iguess maybe that's a personal thing.
(02:41:22):
Yeah, I don't think it's goodfor college football. But I don't like
it either. But I also thinkthat players should be able to make money
off their night. Great, butthere's got to be a regulated way to
do it. There's got to beregulation. You're a high school sophomore.
I'm not giving you two hundred grandto recruit you to go to school there.
I'm just sorry, because the truthis, if you haven't urinated a
drop in college football, the factthat you're a great sophomore player doesn't mean
(02:41:46):
anything to me. No, itdoes not, other than I can offer
you a scholarship and by the timeyou're a junior, if you don't get
better, maybe that was your peak. I don't know. I'm not giving
any My program can change without payinga million dollars to a high school senior.
I'm just not doing it happening,I'm not doing it. No,
let's get back to the NFL.Let's look at some Week eleven overreactions or
reality. What are the Texans fallin this category. That's next on sports

Stock seven ninety. First, let'stalk about a fourth wireless network that's Boost
Mobile. They are built with moderntechnology for the next fifty years, not
like others that were built for thelast fifty years. And because of this
advanced technology, they automatically switch youbetween networks to give you the best service
wherever you are at a lower price. And this is what I'm hearing about.
(02:42:31):
Boost Infinite easy to purchase online. You don't have to go to a
store and wait thirty minutes while somehigh school kid is going through a thousand
plans with the person in front ofyou. You get a low rate for
unlimited data, and a new iPhoneevery year. Yep, that's right,
a new iPhone every year. Themost important aspect is the best coverage.
(02:42:52):
You automatically switch to whatever network isbest wherever you are located. That's what
separates Boost Infinite for the rest caughtaction. How do I get this?
We'll call it eight five five fivefive Boost again. That's eight five five

(02:44:24):
Wagner on the twenty twenty four Hallof Fame ballot. Rockets fall to the
Warriors, Eagles be the Chiefs inMonday Night. Football Week eleven is concluded
in the NFL. So let's takeus some overreactions or reality. Sean,
you're ready to fire these off reactionor reality? Overreaction or reality? All
right, here we go. Allright, Cleveland Browns will make the playoffs.
(02:44:46):
I'm gonna go overreaction. Okay.Let me see Kansas City, Baltimore,
Texans. I'll get it up foryou Chiefs, Baltimore Texans, Dolphins,
(02:45:07):
and then you got three wild cards, which could be there's Denver,
there's Buffalo, Pittsburgh. So onethrough six here, I'll give it to
you real quick. How can Inot put Cleveland in there? But at
the backup quarterback, I don't know. It's Baltimore, Kansas City, Jacksonville,
Miami, Cleveland, Houston, Pittsburgh. That's one through seven, and
(02:45:31):
right there in the hunt, Buffalois the seven or eight teams? Seven
seven, That's what I thought Buffalo, Indie Denver, all right there,
I'm gonna say, take Cleveland out, and I'm saying we may even get
two teams from the AFC South,Okay, which I didn't believe was gonna
happen this year. I'm gonna say, uh, what is it? Overreaction?
What's the other one? Reality?Reality? I'm gonna say Cleveland out
(02:45:54):
without Watson? Okay, Darren andis the defensive player of the year.
What are his numbers? Let's see. Bland continued his dominant season in the
secondary with his fourth interception return fora touchdown in the season. Right,
I knew he had to to picksix, but I don't know what else
(02:46:15):
he's got, his numbers of deflectedballs or what have you. Yeah,
well, let me just answer thatfor you. So okay, So he's
having one of the best covered seasonsin recent memory, as opposing quarterbacks targeting
him are completing just forty three pointone percent of their passes for two hundred
thirty two numbers. Yeah, andthey're saying, will he be the Defensive
Player of the Year. Yes,he answers overreaction or reality overreaction. The
(02:46:37):
name value alone is not going tolet that happen. Yeah, people probably
don't know who he is, right, that's just a fact. You do
I do right, But most peopleare gonna say what I did? What
are his pass breakup some percentage againsthim? I know he had you know,
pick six, but I don't thatthat's not he won't finish in the
top two or three. Yeah, quarterbacks when they target him have a seventeen
point five passer rating. All that'sgreat. Well, that's great, but
(02:47:01):
it can be a popularity ward too. You're not gonna wined reality. Brandon
Staley of the Los Angeles Chargers shouldbe fired this week overreaction or reality.
Probably an overreaction on my part. This late in the season. I think
he's still They're gonna hang maybe aweek or two more and now if it
gets ugly. Yes, the realityis he won't be the coach in twenty
(02:47:22):
twenty four unless they go on someout of body experience. I don't think
they're good enough to do that.I'm gonna say, reality is he's not
the coach in twenty twenty four, but he will make it through the week.
Okay, here's another one. RonRivera should be fired this week overreaction,
but reality is he probably won't beback in twenty twenty four either.
How long has he been there?Three years? Four years? Man,
(02:47:46):
Buffalo Bills will make the playoffs.Overreaction or reality reality. I still think
they're gonna get in. I thinkthey end up they may end up being
a team like that with a veteranquarterback that knocks out a team like the
Cleveland Browns. If I had todo it now, Miami and Buffalo,
Kansas City, that's three, right, the North winner, which is Baltimore,
(02:48:11):
that's four, give me Jacksonville, the Texans five to six and number
seven. I don't think it's goingto be Cincinnati. It's gonna be too
little, too late. And withthe Burrow out right, Yeah, I
don't. I mean, it waskind of rhetorical. I'm going to say
that a possibility that a team fromthe West, they were actually going to
(02:48:35):
have Denver in the play in themix for this thing after what they've done.
Bara, Yes, he has,so I'm going to say that.
I'm going to say, and we'rethinking after all this, we're only getting
it one team from the North andthe AFC. I don't see how they're
going to sustain it offensively without Watsonand Nick Chubb. And I don't see
(02:48:58):
how Pittsburgh's offense can can keep doingthis and get in I just don't.
Yeah, obviously Pittsburgh firing their offensivecourse change, right, Yeah, I
have to wait and see. Itcan't get any worse. But the reality
is I'm starting to lean towards twoAFC South teams because the road's easier too
than it is getting through the North. All right, let's get I got
(02:49:20):
two more for you. Brock Partyis the league MVP overreaction, But if
he's not in your top three, three or four right now, then you're
not paying attention him. Tyreek Hill, you probably put to his name in
there, But at the MVP onthat team right now, is Tyreek Hill
(02:49:41):
not to so Tyreek Lamar is stillhanging around they I don't like the way
that two weeks you know the gamea couple of weeks ago, right,
Lamar, Rock Party? Are wetalking about? Nfcre is just overall MVP?
Right, Brock Purty and the guyhere CJ. Yeah, I think
(02:50:01):
that those are your tough and youcan you know who you throw in the
top five. You got to beDak Prescott as well. Yeah, Prescott,
Purdy, Stroud, Uh, TyreKill, Tyreek Hill, and Lamar
Jackson. I think those are yourI think those are the five leading candidates
right now. Okay, last onebefore we get to break the Houston Texans
(02:50:24):
will win the AFT South. I'dlike to say, can you ask me
that question Monday, But I'm gonnago out on a limb. Say they
beat Jacksonville and with their schedule, they go on, they end up tying
Jacksonville with the record and they winvia tiebreaker. Yes, and Jacksonville wins
a playoff spot on the last dayof the season and forces an AFC North
(02:50:48):
team out of it. Can youthink back to everything that this organization has
had over the last couple of seasonsand now we're actually talking about them with
a chance to win the AFC SouthRyan's first year as head coach. Considering
how quickly we can how quickly wecan turn things around with a quarterback and
(02:51:11):
a head coach. I believe it, but I'm fascinated that it happened this
fast for a team that was supposedto if they were lucky double their win
total and still finish near last placein the division. I'll win this week,
and I do believe they win thedivision. But I'm going to go
out and say they do win thisweek and that there's a chance now in
the last week of the season thattwo teams end up making the playoffs from
the South, which I never wouldhave bought. It's crazy, it is,
(02:51:33):
It is absolutely crazy. Let's keeptalking Texans. Let's look ahead,
early, look ahead, how dothey stop? Trevor Lawrence. That's next

What are you doing. You'll tellme I can't wear I have to wear
socks in the NFL above my calves, and you'll you'll find me if you

over the name. Yeah, okay, I got the NFL. Do what
you want. Just protect the shieldthe shield, baby, Yes, yeah,
(02:57:07):
I got you in my lineup. You know, I'm surprised. Remember
how we used to give Ryan Moneya hard time when we bring up the
rockets and go right, Yeah, you mentioned Dak Prescott potentially in the running
for the m v P. No, I know we didn't hear Manny many
trips. Look, this is whatThis is what he's gonna say. I'm
(02:57:31):
telling you, Sean, I'm tellingyou super Bowl, super Bowl, right,
that's what he does. It soundsso quiet because y'all know that it's
on. We own the mink.I mean this, dude is I know
y'all feel I know you know,I feel you, Dog, I feel
you. I'm betting them, butI feel you. I gave Dak.
I remember I told you to betthe long odds of him winning the m

v P this year. I askedyou to do it. I asked you,
I damn near begged you to do. This is the year? Yeah,
Maniel Manny's like, I mean, hot girl Prescott. He's going with
Prescott, no doubt, no friggingdoubt. I hate you though for it.
I don't. I don't. Idon't hate you though many. I
(02:58:13):
mean, like lima hot girl,Billy Wagner, you're going hot, You're
going Billy Wagner. Put some respecton Bill exactly. Flamethrower. Who's who
is that? Oh my gosh, she's an actress. He's an actress.
Or she's an actress. She was? What's that scene with Billy Bob Thornton
(02:58:33):
you're talking about? Uh, you'retalking about Joe Lee? Yeah, no,
Angelina, Joe Lee. Hold on, hold on, I'll figure it
out. What you mean? Googleit. That's how you figure it out,
You google it? Yeah? Yeah, yeah? What about Bill Bob?
What is her damn name? What'sthe movie? I can't remember it.
I'm not a good movie guy, that's obvious. Is it Bad Santa?
(02:58:56):
No? I love Bad Sanda though. No, no, no,
no, Kathy Bates in Bad Santa. Oh my god, I'm completely drawn
up, Like you know what,I'll figure it out during the U during
the break, can we get ahint of what it is? I can.
What's the thought process? What's thethought process? Halle Berry? There
you go, halle Berry bingo. All right, So this is my scenario
(02:59:16):
here, triple. He went tohis alumni prayer view a and m proud
alumni went to the homecoming a coupleof weeks ago. He went outside,
as we talked about here on theSeawan Salisbury Show. So if I think
this is how would go if hehad a choice between halle Berry. You
know who Ali Berry is? Ido? Okay? If he had a
choice between Dak Prescott and halle Berry, and on who his date would be,
(02:59:39):
it's Dak Prescott. Yeah, hemay be invited Barry along for that
for the trifecta. He may beinvited halle along for the trifecta. Here's
an even you want to even throwin another kicker guarantee you want a kicker
in it too, don't bring akicker guarantee. You don't want al grek
Aldig to come now, Al delGreco golfer too, teammates. You don't
(03:00:03):
want Ray guy to come. Iknow he's a punter, but same thing
that kicked the damn ball. Youknow what about it? Triple it would
be guaranteed to get with Halle Berry, you'd still pick Dak Prescott. Halle
Halle would be after you know, you know I got top of that with
Dak. We got to have afew conversations. Can't blame him. What
you gotta have? Overrated? Who'soverrated HB? And the hum on HB?
(03:00:28):
In which way her actress career, her looks. We've been saying this
about Holle for a while. It'sgotten to the point where she just doesn't
seem to want to keep a boyfriendher husband. I'm kidding, I'm kidding.
I want when I say overrated,at no time where you're gonna mention
Halle Berry's overrated in your life?Right? No? I think he won
an Academy Award to as Best Actress. I think she's a good actress.
(03:00:52):
She's been good movies. Obviously, she's held in high regard by many.
Yeah, Strong, I'm just kidding. When I say you say overrated,
it might very well be it mightvery well be Dak Prescott more than who's
more overrated Halle Berry Dak Prescott? Is it even a question, Dak Prescott,
do you think so? So you'rejust based and everything on which you
(03:01:13):
think the looks are so Prescott maypull pulled you didn't he? No,
he didn't. Okay, I thinkthat. Uh yeah, halle Berry is
a good choice Manny when all issaid and done that they were put in
front of him. Manny's not takingDak Prescott over halle Berry. No he's
not. He's not just like likeyou're gonna take you like Melissa McCarthy over
(03:01:39):
Mike Trout, No or over Let'ssee who you're crush. You're a You're
you're a jose L Twove crush guy. No, not Kyle Tucker. Why
who's your who's your astros crush? Why did you throw Melissa McCarthy? I

she wears those gloves. I wantto see her naked and those gloves.

same conversation when you said you wantto see Lizzo naked again. Yeah,
against one thing I want you todo. Don't take your don't take your
(03:02:30):
crush and throw stuff on me.I don't refert that's the person who the
old I confess he did it justbecause you were raving in a text at
about midnight one night. I rememberwe both saw and showed me that picture
with the gloves on. Yeah, and then you try to throw Listen,
Kyle of Lizzo. Don't hate thathe's on me because I Lizzo is my
(03:02:54):
girl, right, you know,Lizzo has been a part of the show.
We love Lizzo. Out of hereyou do. Yeah, damned rights,
Sean, let's talk. Yeah, you gotta better roll up off now.
So why do I throw Melissa? But just to see how about your
reactions? See if you so,then I just google with gloves on and
(03:03:16):
in the movie see her gloves Iprobably would. I probably would just for
the story value. She'd probably turnyou down. Probably her husband, the
one who's always had movies with her. That's oh, that's her legit husband.
That's right, that's her guy hotterthan you is. Okay, let
me give this hotter, hotter thanyou, Sean, He's he's in the
(03:03:43):
gym longer, Sean probably better, probably coaches baseball a little bit better,
but better. X's and O's gaslight. This is gaslights right now. She'd
take a glove off and slap yourass. I mean you're in dude,
he's hotter than you are. Letme see it. Oh yeah, oh
yeah, man M tell me youwouldn't take liz O over that. I'm
(03:04:13):
not telling you that. I'm nottelling you that. I don't know why
you guys because you don't believe it. Well, why are you guys so
down on Lizzo? I don't getit. I don't understand. I just
know that you like her. Isn'tshe from Houston? Yeah? I think
she's h town takeover. Well,there's a lot that she's taking over.
Whoa, whoa, don't shame peopletalking about the charts. Don't shame fat
(03:04:35):
what don't know what's with the ph with a pH? She celebrates her
week. Yeah, I think hewould take halle Berry over Prescott though.
I think Manny, when all ofa sudden that he's gonna go, he's
gonna go. Halle Berry did Iwas just telling you Prescott's good. This
is a hypothetical situation, that's allit was. Yeah, why why you
(03:04:56):
gotta why you gotta bus toss?Any I didn't bust toss with know with
Prescott, No, because he lovesPrescott. So he's your favorite quarterback in
the league right now? Oh yous c J. Stroud. You know
it was it was Joe Burrow, but he got hurt. Oh you're that
guy. I love Joe Burrow.Man, Joe Joe. I'm Joe shisty
(03:05:20):
cause you look to cause a littlelittle argument every doy you have, man,
Juel, No, dude, itwas Joe Burrow, Joe joey.
But I have no idea why Ithrew Melissa McCarthy or her husband probably hotter
than But that's cool. There's nothingyou can do about those looks. No,
there's not. This is you know, you're stuck with it, right,
(03:05:41):
this is you know. I can't. I can't help the fact that
this is the way that God mademe. My mother my just accepted.

as a reliever in most of thosein the important categories, how are you
not a Hall of Famer? Andwhy is there even a question about this,
Well, what's what's the deal?He doesn't have a World Series rank?
Correct? Did he get it anywhere? I don't think so. I
don't either. Okay, but there'sguys in all fan without a World Series
ran. It's basically now, youdid the Toppers when you owe and they
(03:11:46):
won four World Series. You hadgreat postseasons and you put that on there.
But he dominated his era. Youtease it. I mean, pitched
innings, got people out at ahigh level, struck out people at a
high level, didn't give up hitsat a high I mean just everything he
did was I don't know, isthe top five home run hitter in baseball
(03:12:09):
history in the Hall of Fame?Yeah? How about RBI guy? Yeah?
Hit list the guys hits, wins, pitching wins. I don't know
what. What what other criteria arewe looking for the truth of the matter
is you know what the what? What the problem is here? Is the
arrogancet the people not to put himin already? Why is it taking so
(03:12:31):
long? That's what was gonna bemy question. Why has he not been
elected yet? Because he's not whatI don't know, He's Billy not out,
He's not a self promoter. Idon't see him out there self promoting.
You shouldn't have to. I thinkthose those numbers pretty much speak for
themselves. Billy Wagner belongs in Canton, I mean in uh in h Can's
football. Billy in Cooperstown and itwas a c he belongs to Cooperstown.
(03:12:56):
I don't know why this is eventhat this is even a big deal.
It's a big deal here, Imean, why we're sitting here. I
shouldn't have to sell him any Imean, is his performance sold? Its
in that what a Hall of fameare supposed to do when you listen to
the Okay, here's the numbers, here's what he did. He dominated his
ear Why isn't he in right there? I mean, I know, kind
(03:13:18):
of like putting relievers in is similarto putting like a like safety's in in
football, whatever, whatever that comparisonis. He was the best. He
was the best at what he did, one of the best of what he
did, consistently, year in andyear out. Why isn't that Hall of
Fame worthy? I don't get it. I don't know. Here's a fun
(03:13:41):
note before we get out of here. Eachiro Suzuki pitched a complete game shutout
on one hundred and sixteen pitches againstthe high school girls team. Today he
had nine strikeouts. He topped outat eighty six miles an hour, and
at the place he went two orfive with a double each year, cutting
up a high school girl seem overin Japan. I don't hate him,
(03:14:07):
that guy, Stu. What aplayer though, huh oh my god,
speed frigg outfield. And what afriggin player. Yeah, what a great
arm, great player, great hitter. Yeah yeah, And that's the way
in the show. I mean, you get hit by some girls. Huh
huh. You don't want to treadthere with me, dog, Yeah,
(03:14:31):
don't tread on me. Uh Ichirow What a player? What a frigging
player. It's still a player apparentlystill still. Yeah, there you go,
awesome throw one hundred and sixteen pitches. That's gonna do for the For
