any have any caffeine to David Man my energy and
I slept.

On the or Man two hours. I feels like I
have four cups of caffeine. I think I got about
two and a half hours of sleep last night. You
feel pretty good today? Feel great? I do. I feel fantastic.
I feel incredible because of trade deadline? Right exactly, it's coming.
Go on, Texas didn't do a damn thing. Ye, first

(01:17):
college football playoff has been or a college football playoff
ranking has been released. We're gonna go through that as well. Also,
do the Texans make a mistake by not making a
move and Dana Brown speaks to the media about Alex Bregman.
Who've got that audio? Nothing else happening in the world though,
So it's fine.

Speaker 4 (01:38):
It's a good day man sports Triple E looks bright
eyed and bushy tails or does it's uh now we're here,
it's not raining this morning. It's like pretty cool. Life's good.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
Life is good today. What we got's good today? We
got Western Wednesday. My toes white wood. That's in the sane.
Oh zb mat was b z.

Speaker 4 (02:01):
B No what toes of the sand says? It's a
you know, it's like, uh, you know, you're just kicking
it right. Holiday season coming up. I mean, everybody's happy
because the holiday season. You know what I'm saying, right Ezack,
Texans are in first place? H huh? Ass may retain

(02:23):
Alex Bregmans try well, of course they got a shot.
This is his crib. You got college football playoff out.
I mean, what's not to like about what's going on?
You're here, triples here, you haven't taken, you didn't take.
I'm surprised you didn't pull a handy last night. No,
I'm on the right side of the.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
Exactly. Get your head on the dogs. Oh you know
what David Bowie dancing in the streets. You you love
that in the street that had cut. But that's not
even a country cup. We're gonna make it one, as
we said, absolutely all right. You know what I think
it should. I think today should just be all requests Wednesday.
I can well request Wednesday. I got about I got

(03:02):
about forty five of them. Get R O. C K
in the USA fire back up man, man, I feel
that way every day. Life is good today. No, Sean,
you're not going Zach Brown, Man, I good to talk
to you about that.

Speaker 4 (03:18):
Yeah, good to see it. There's a couple of shows
I'd like taped today that I'd never watch. Yeah, I
would love to see that.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
There's a few shows around the country that I really,
I really, I really I'd like to I'd like them
taped just just to show. I don't know what those are,
but one of them just give you a good view.
But it's I can't wait to see that one or
hear that one. Listen if humans, if humans were made
of gold, follow around, because you you can melt it

(03:46):
down into a lot of money. Right now they are
gonna and it'll start right there.

Speaker 4 (03:51):
Life is good today anyway, Uh, college football ranking. Man, Yeah,
I know this about that. This game against LSU and
BAMA this week. Loser out three losses s CC, LSU, Alabama.
So this is single elimination because in truth, now with
twelve teams, no disrespect to the bull says, you still

(04:14):
want to go get your ring and your watch and
all that stuff right and get some extra practice in
for younger guys. But if you're outside the twelve at
the end of the season, and if you're Alabama or
LSU or you're not looking at it and saying that's
kind of a let down of a season for you. Yeah, honestly,
So I just was thinking about that because that's a
big matchup because loser goes home and think about the
enthusiasm or lack thereof. Now, I know you got to play,

(04:37):
I know the end of the seed. You I'll get
this month of the season and all that. But when
you're eliminated from twelve team, you could be eliminated from
before team or early right, twelve team, are you hanging
around hanging around now? It's like it almost feels like that.
I wonder if now these players are going to treat
the bowl games even worse. Proble I mean when I

(04:57):
say worse, meaning if you're not in the top twelve
and you're a draft eligible player, that you're you're I mean,
we've seen a lot of it. You may see a
to the point of or the commission. You know you can't.
But where you want to come in and say you're
anything a player get fined, you can't do that because
we don't have that legal system in the college you know,
not yet, right, it's coming if the unions come about

(05:19):
and all that and pay for play with all this,
you know, with the revenue sharing. But it's like you lose, Now,
how think about the coaching job and the players to
keep your enthusiasm just to oh where you're playing in
a mid December bowl game or you know what I'm
saying a little bit hyperbolical, but right, But if you not,
there's anything wrong with it. But Alabama and ls you

(05:39):
don't think like that. So that's just an example there
of you losing your out. So for here on, it's
now single elimination for two teams like that.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
Oh and you've got Georgia and Ole Miss. You've got
LSU and who did you say, Alabama? Alabama? They've got
those two games. I'm pretty sure both of them or
this weekend they are.

Speaker 4 (06:01):
Well, I know, I know it's Alabama Las Music that
in Death Valley Saturday night.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
And I'm pretty sure it's Georgia Ole miss on Saturday.

Speaker 4 (06:07):
Night, which is a huge, huge matchup Saturday at two thirty.

Speaker 1 (06:11):
Yeah, that that good. I don't want them both on
at the same time, even though you have more than
one TV that we can watch, But you want to
focus on that one, right I And then this college
football thing, man.

Speaker 4 (06:21):
I am god. And then if your army, this is
gonna be great good think about this too. With single
elimination is kind. But if your army b YU, if
your Boise State, if you're one of those teams you
you've been on single elimination for weeks.

Speaker 1 (06:40):
Look at that, no no respect army to army at
all twenty five Yeah at eight, No, you got Kansas
State seven and two, Colorado six and two ahead of you.
I always stay just got embarrassed by Texas.

Speaker 4 (06:56):
I would actually like to see a Colorado play Army
because you know what, while Colorado all over the place,
so I'm not sure Colorado's defense will be able to
stop that option.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
Washington State come on, man, say they're giving.

Speaker 4 (07:09):
They're given like the bigger, you know, the bigger they're
talking schedule the rest of But I'm gonna tell you what.
Guess guess who teams like that don't want to play
team like Army. They don't. They just don't because they're
too hard to defend. So Louisville six and three ahead
of them, Yeah, that's that's Louisville's good program. That's just
flat out disrespectful loss.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
Yeah, that's it.

Speaker 4 (07:30):
That's a regardless of what the program says or what
the the history of your programmer with your schedules, when
you lose three games, you don't deserve to be ahead
of an eight NO team just because they're a military academy.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
Don't deserve to be ranked in my opinion.

Speaker 4 (07:43):
Okay, then yet that's exactly right, that's exactly Then. If
you're telling me a six and three teams ranked that
high high of an eight NO team, then why in
the world is LSU or the loser of this game
pretty much out of the playoff when they're going to
be at three wins. So you got to tell me
right now, Louisville's done right, right, So is Army Armies.

(08:04):
Here's what's the crazy thing about it. Armies ranked far
below Louisville, and Louisville's got a better or however many
rankings are, and Louisville's and Army's got a better chance
to be in the playoff than Louisville. Yeah, so why
why why make them climb a ladder even more than that?
It's not fair, That's what makes sense. And you know what,
that's one right. I hope I hope BYU and Boise

(08:26):
I do. I hope by US and the Boise States
and the armies of the world. I hope they roll
the run the table. So these guys have to make
a decision. We're sitting down and what are you gonna
tell me? If Army runs the table, We're gonna look
at him, say they're twentieth.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
Yeah, there's no chance like that. That's absolute. That's just mad, disrespectful.
And also it's just not right when it comes to
a ranking system. Look at look at the teams that
I just mentioned, Louisville six and three ahead of Army,
Washington State seven and one, Colorado six and two, Kansas
State seven and two, and then Iowa State just got
their ass beat not on the score but physically by

(08:59):
Texas Tech man handled Iowa State. Now there's seven and one,
so I just you know, and I look at Missouri
also six and two. They're gonna get a NOD ahead
of them because they're in the SEC. But some of
these losses a three loss Louisville team, come on, it's
crazy how they uh that's too much respect for Louisville

(09:20):
right now? Yeah? And then uh so just looking at
these full rankings, you have Oregon, Ohio State, Georgia, Miami
that's your first four. Then you've got Texas, Penn State, Tennessee,
Indiana still no respect for Indiana at nine to zero,
b YU number nine, Notre Dame number ten, Alabama number eleven,
and then Boise State Boise State number twelve, and the

(09:40):
first four looking looking in from the top twelve SMU,
Texas A and m l s U and Ole miss
So it's gonna be I can't wait this, this is
gonna be crazy down the stretch Indiana, what if Indiana
rolls the table? What about BYU? What about a Boise
State team?

Speaker 4 (09:59):
Well, l you think about this, this LSU's lost twice
or once this year, twice right, LSU is six and two.
Not LSU, I know they're sixty two, and so is Alabama. Yeah,
Ole Miss, Ole Miss is seven and two.

Speaker 1 (10:12):
There you go.

Speaker 4 (10:12):
Yeah, if Ole Miss loses this weekend, and think about this,
two SEC teams eliminate themselves on the playoffs this weekend.
More than likely unless craziness happens in front of them.
The loser of the LSU Alabama game gone. I can't
imagine the Louisville. You can't continue to tell me a
three loss team that they're in the hunt. If that's

(10:34):
the case, then the loser of the LSU and I
mean a loser of the LSU Alabama game shouldn't go home.

Speaker 1 (10:39):
But three losses, I can't do it.

Speaker 4 (10:43):
If it meant put in the Boise State and Army
ahead of you. If they're undefeated and your three losses,
they deserve to be ahead of you, even though if
you played head to head.

Speaker 1 (10:53):
But you know what, that's part of it. That's part
of the thing you've asked.

Speaker 4 (10:55):
You tell the smaller guys to go and go undefeated
and we'll consider it.

Speaker 1 (11:00):
Well, there, there you have it, So they'd have to
do that.

Speaker 4 (11:02):
But think about this, two SEC teams more than likely
get eliminated with losses this week, and that is ole
miss if they get beat they played Georgia, Is that right?

Speaker 1 (11:11):
Yeah? And and there's that there's that chance, And and the.

Speaker 4 (11:15):
Loser of the ls and have a death Valley loses
the LSU Alabama and two powerhouses or teams at the
beginning of the year that we thought national title hopes.
If they both have three losses, those two teams go
home and they're not going to make the playoff. You
don't have enough ground to make enough time to make
up the ground in November to be there.

Speaker 1 (11:33):
Yeah, excuse me. We got like three after this, We
got like three or four regular This is four regular
season games left, I think for some I mean, you
think about this. We got by the weekend after Thanksgiving.
The only game after that is what Army Navy. Oh
my gosh, in early December. Oregon's got three games left.
That's what I'm saying. We blinked and all there. And

(11:53):
you know what, I don't know how Organ's gonna what's
the rest of their schedule Ireland, Wisconsin, Washington. They're not losing, No,
they're they're they're not losing. They'll be the number one
team right.

Speaker 4 (12:03):
As they got to do is just play the way
they've played and they will be the number one seed
going in.

Speaker 1 (12:07):
They've been rolling.

Speaker 4 (12:09):
I don't see how they're gonna get beat Washington is
not the same team even. I mean they've beaten some teams,
but they're not the same team as they were last year.
The last couple of years good but not that good. Wisconsin.
They still got to learning how to throw the ball
a little bit better. Wisconsin still got a ways to
go to build that team to where I know they
want to.

Speaker 1 (12:28):
And then who's the last one? Maryland they're gonna do?

Speaker 4 (12:30):
The Organs winning all three, they're going they will be
the number one seed going in.

Speaker 1 (12:34):
Crazy first year in the Big Ten, and they just
they're loaded and Dan Lanning's got a program going on now. Man,
if you're if you're a recruit, what what what? Why
would you not want to go to Oregon? Dude? I
mean just you know, some recruits Oregon and Eugene may
not be Yeah, but the the Nike connection, whether beautiful areas,

(12:56):
there's no doubt, but you know, some some want to
be in California. Some legacy.

Speaker 4 (13:00):
If you're in the South, going to the where it
rains two hundred days a year. Just it's just hard
sometimes to convince an eighteen year old seventeen year old
kid that this is where you want. But then they
walk in the facility and say, ooh and you get
to play for that guy and the truth. Yeah, and
I'm a huge fan of Dan Landet Oh easy to
be yeah, easy to be a huge fan him. They
they they got it going on. Well there, they'd have

(13:21):
to really play bad to get beat in one of
these three games. They won't and they'll be the number
one seed with a buye and then waiting on who
comes next it's good and then they'll bust.

Speaker 1 (13:32):
The only thing we got to deal with them is
what kind of uniforms are going to play the next
three weeks? You know, Yeah, like we're coming mount yep. Yeah,
it's gonna be nuts man, looking ahead for some of
these excuse me for some of these games that'll have
big implications on the college football playoff as the first
rankings have come out, got a lot of football to
get into today. Also, Dana Brown spoke to the media

(13:54):
yesterday at the GM meetings, and he spoke about Alex
Bregman spoke about justin Land, so we'll play that audio
starting at eight o'clock this morning. Let's talk to Houston
Texans football. Uh did they make a mistake by not
getting a player yesterday at the trade deadline? That's next
on Sports Talk seven eighty.

Speaker 5 (14:15):
Hello haters from LA to New York Park her up
and kiss hour ass Astros. Oh my goodness, this is
Sports Talk seven ninety Home of your Astros.

Speaker 3 (14:29):
Still twenty seventeen champs.

Speaker 1 (14:31):
No doubt about it.

Speaker 3 (14:34):
Sean Salisbury show continues right now.

Speaker 1 (14:41):
Good to see you this morning, You too, man Arl
the USA. I could say, Yeah, let's rock. Let's get
back to noise that has been un burdened by what
will be what? Sorry, Rockets Spurs tonight, seven o'clock tip off,

(15:04):
six o'clock launch. Pat right here on seven nine your home.
Four h What do you bring this out of me? Man?
I don't you know, greatness cackling idiots. Stop. We didn't know,
we didn't anyway. Yeah, anyway, you guys have a good night. Yeah.

(15:25):
Do you watch hockey? No you didn't. I did see
the Utah Hockey Club loss. So ah, one of these
days we'll have one here I hope one of these days,
I hope you got You gotta think it's coming soon, right, I.

Speaker 4 (15:40):
Would love to well now because Arizona move too. That
was your number one slot possibly, you know, grabbing the
Coyotes you call them coyotes or coyotes, yodis you call
the yodies.

Speaker 1 (15:51):
Yeah, okay, so the Yoats, you know, go to Utah.

Speaker 4 (15:54):
So you were maybe hoping a little franchise transfer fee,
you know what I'm saying. But now that they got theirs,
now you gonna have to little expansion. But there's no
why not here? That should be big place to go.
Got everything you want here, So that'd be awesome. Love
to be able to talk about that every day. Why
not US?

Speaker 1 (16:09):
There? You go tell me that's not a cliche any
underdog ever? Why Yeah?

Speaker 4 (16:16):
My favorite is when when you're like the number three
team in the country and you're playing the why not
US card? Well, you only got forty seven five star recruits,
but I don't know why not you?

Speaker 1 (16:24):
Oh yeah, the underdog New York Yankees and they're nine
hundred million dollars. Nobody thinks we're any good.

Speaker 4 (16:30):
Yeah, when you're paying everybody four billion dollars each and
nobody thinks you're good.

Speaker 1 (16:33):
Wrong, you know that?

Speaker 4 (16:35):
Try try to play that bulletin board material that sometimes
doesn't work.

Speaker 1 (16:38):
Right.

Speaker 4 (16:38):
Yeah, it's like a billionaire saying, man, you know what,
tough time to get into work. That gas was expensive,
while he's got his own gas pump at the crib, right,
feel me, dog?

Speaker 1 (16:47):
Yeah, pick it up, you're putting down. You think the
Texans made a mistake not making a movie yesterday, Make
no mistake. Can you get that first round? Ub?

Speaker 4 (16:54):
Do I think the Texans made a mistake. I told
you yesterday though, Well, you want to age with other teams.

Speaker 1 (17:01):
What's the price to pay to get what you want?

Speaker 4 (17:03):
Now? If you sat here and said, Sean, here's five
here's five trades they went after, and all of them
fell through, and here's the reason why.

Speaker 1 (17:10):
And it was because they either.

Speaker 4 (17:12):
Went in on the cheap, they didn't want to pay
the price to get somebody.

Speaker 1 (17:16):
They felt like they didn't.

Speaker 4 (17:18):
Have enough control over a few years, too much money
on a guy, maybe the guy's age backed them off,
or maybe they just they wanted too many assets for
a high priced guy that the other team did. If
you told me the reason and said they just weren't
engaged in it, then I'd have a problem with it.
I don't know who they engaged with. I have a
problem because I don't think they got better, that's for sure.

(17:40):
And I think Baltimore got better. I think Kansas City
got better. I think the Detroit Lions got better. And
right now, those are three teams. You may have to
get through two of them to get to the super
Bowl and through the playoffs, and one of them do
you have to beat in the NFC, and you're gonna
have to beat on Sunday night could very well be
the same team. So I'm a big believer in it's
like anything else. When you're when you're kicking ass, kick

(18:03):
ass more and market more. If you're one of those
in that type of business, if you're UH, when everything's
going to hell in a handbasket, advertise more because you
know what, well, everybody else is gone. Now you get
to dominate the alias football when you got the when
you got an embarrassment of riches, or even if you
don't do more. Why is it that the best three
teams in football did something that's crazy, isn't it. Why

(18:25):
didn't they just sit back and say we're good. Why
because they understand depth and what it takes. So this
isn't a knock on the Texans. I just don't know
what they were engaged with. Did they do they think
that their offensive lines fixable in their own building?

Speaker 1 (18:37):
Do they think that?

Speaker 4 (18:40):
Do they think that wide receiver wise, we're going to
be fine, Nico Collins is coming back, We're going to
be okay. So are they comfortable or they they try
to make something happen and it just didn't work because
they didn't either want to give up the assets or
nobody wanted to play in the sand with them.

Speaker 1 (18:52):
Looks like box. The only thing they did was they
traded defensive tackle Khalil Davis to the forty nine ers
in exchange exchange for a draft pick. That's it. That's
all they did. Well, that doesn't do anything for them
this year. Now the question is, you know, are once
again you're going to take that draft pick, another draft pick,
and another one and piece it together somebody else. But
the trade deadline's over, right, We had ended at three

(19:13):
o'clock yet yairth right, So now you're stuck with what
you got and what we said it as well, And
I think a lot of people. If you're begging for now,
if you're the Kansas City Chiefs getting Hopkins beforehand, now
that's that one. You say, well, what's another piece that
can really help us big time? You're going to help them,
so you say this, okay, But the truth is most

(19:36):
teams what's in the building by the trade deadline. You
got to win with that, right.

Speaker 4 (19:41):
But it sure is nice when you get a guy
who's got Hall of Fame numbers and it's still got
game with and you know he's going to play better
as he did when you got Mahomes throw on you
the ball and Andy Reid Calm plays. So the thing
is they didn't get better. Will they be better the
second half of the season, meaning the Texans, Yeah, they
didn't do anything to improve their teams well, but then

(20:03):
it puts pressure on the ones that are in the building.
The question is, now you got two choices. Do you
get comfortable because they didn't trade for a guy at
your position? You say, cool, they think I'm playing really
good or is there a sense of urgency that says
this may this opportunity to get this second chance to
go kick ass, especially if you're upfront and offensive line,
because they're getting evaluated when they walk across the room

(20:24):
and eat lunch, and if they're not, then something's wrong.

Speaker 1 (20:27):
Yeah, excuse me. The NFL trade deadline has come and gone.
Let's take a look at some of the big moves
in the AFC. One of the teams that the Texans
would eventually face in the playoffs made some moves yesterday,
so we'll look at that. Seven one, three, two, five,
seven hints the number to join. Walls will take your calls.
That's next right here. Sports Talk seven to eighty.

Speaker 3 (20:47):
The Sewn Salisbury Show continued. Yeah, dude, get entertainer.

Speaker 4 (20:54):
Though you know good front me maybe one well, one
of the best frontmen of all time.

Speaker 1 (20:58):
And it has no doubt.

Speaker 4 (21:00):
You can't leave Mick Jagger out of your out of
your team picture, No you can't. You have to Bowie.
I know it's hard to say underrated by the way
old school No Bowie overrated to the new school folk.
Did they didn't? You know what I'm saying that you know,
like your age group. Honestly that may not kind of
between her and even at uh Triple E's age, probably
don't know enough about David Bodo Bowie to appreciate or

(21:23):
hear him enough on radio. Now you can say, oh yeah, man,
the guys, you know when they play the songs all
the time.

Speaker 1 (21:29):
Underrated. David Bowie to me has always been underrated. Dancing
in the streets. What a great cut. Huh.

Speaker 4 (21:35):
I can picture those two. Have you ever seen the
music video those two? It's an awesome biddy. Yeah, there
you go. You got to record.

Speaker 1 (21:44):
All requests Wednesday sports Stock seven aty KB ME. I'm
gonna say I'll come up with one. There you go, Okay.
Usually it's wow, go anywhere with you?

Speaker 4 (21:55):
By bye uh oh, Jaco jac Oen anywhere with you?
I mean we we gotta go right. It could be Scottsdale.
It could be mar Lago. I don't know where we're going.

Speaker 1 (22:07):
Hell, could be to Wisconsin, could be Wisconson, could be,
could be Pennsylvania, could be and it could be right here,
Kadia dead matter, we're just doing We're in this love together.
Could be FM fourteen sixty three. Yeah, hey, q hey,
It could be Boston. Queue the boat, que the duck boats.
I'll tell you what. Dancing in the street he the

(22:27):

They got to get that construction figured out. Dude, what
do you mean? Sounds terrible? I've lived It's perpetual. It's
like a treadmill. It's unbel it's similar to here. Tell
me I'm not right, folks. Six ' ten in West Timer,
Oh god, all right, I want you to start West
Timer down? Was it, Guestner? Where are you talking about?

(22:48):
Right here? Yeah? Just get let's just say Galleria, yeah,
San Felipe and all right, that area just over there
by True Lux right, start there and head towards six
ten and stay on West Timer and go all the
way to Kirby all that.

Speaker 4 (23:04):
What they do is they fake pave. They put a
band aid on the road. It's it's uneven.

Speaker 2 (23:10):
No.

Speaker 4 (23:10):
I've been here now since twenty thirteen, and I'm just
telling you here's what it is, because I lived over
there for a minute. And you know, we all drive
that area, and everybody in this listening knows exactly where
I'm talking about.

Speaker 1 (23:20):
You go right right by Steak forty eight, you know,
right there?

Speaker 4 (23:22):
Oh yeah, and it goes down and then they go down.
They pay where they the roads are closed. There's always
cones there. And then you get down and it's a
it's a cluster at every intersection. And then you get
down to like Kirby, even if a little further that way,
just take a r turn.

Speaker 1 (23:38):
Two years later, come back. They what they do is
they get to the.

Speaker 4 (23:41):
End and they start the way back and by the
time you get back, all the rain and all the
thing you can Christmas time's miserable because this guy, I
mean when I'm talking about, it's gonna be crowded and
they'll be construction and you'll get back to six ' ten.
Just flip another U and head back the other way
towards Kirby. And it's perpetual. It's a treadmill. It's say,
it's a root, it's a friggin hamster. And so that's

(24:01):
what it is. So yes, and now we're at the
FM fourteen sixty three and Katie full you're exactly right,
they said twenty twenty seven. Since I've been out there,
it's been the same thing. And then it rains and
they can't do contract. It's dude, if you're in a hurry,
don't come to my town. No, unless it's ESCO. We
got plenty of time for peeps, right, But it is,

(24:22):
it's maddening. That's the one thing about it. I love
this city and I love this state, but there's more constraint.

Speaker 1 (24:29):
Maybe it's going on.

Speaker 4 (24:30):
And how about if you're going to San Antonio, tell
me the last time in fifteen years that you have
gone from here to San Antonio either way west or east.
Once you get to Katie I ten, it's the same
way as west timer and sixty, you'll get there. There's
construction from here to there every single day, every single night,

(24:53):
for a decade plus and I'm still trying to widen.

Speaker 1 (24:56):
One.

Speaker 4 (24:57):
Come in the other side. Now it's your turn to
It's set there and it's just it's just boomed back
and forth. It's like doing the the ladder for football
one after you know, the sideways, boom boom boom, boom,
boom boom all the way down and when you get there,
start again.

Speaker 1 (25:08):
If you're in a hurry, stay away from that area.
Same thing going east towards like Charles, Yes, towards Beaumont.

Speaker 4 (25:13):
Yeah, Yeah, there's no question they SANDWICHI in brother. That's
the only thing about it. It's like the construction, it's
like feels like it takes a little longer here, but
maybe people in Dallas are probably bitching about it too.

Speaker 1 (25:25):
We all do.

Speaker 4 (25:25):
It's a relative to where you are, because we all
bitch about it Boston when they had the deep but
the dig that they had where it's like it's and
that's still going on. You're like, when is this going
to get done? Well, all we always had that complaint.
But other than if that's the biggest complaint we got here,
life's good.

Speaker 1 (25:39):
Well, it's gonna be pretty uh excuse me, pretty bad
when they start that construction on forty five fifty nine
and that whole project playing in East Downtown basically trying
to put the freeway underground, a low ground. What we're doing, Well,
they'll go under blood here when it when half an inch?
Just give me a bullet train here to Dallas d Yeah,
why why do we not have that? That will not
give me one of those that gets you there in
about an hour? Yeah, hour and ten minutes. Yeah, whatever

(26:01):
that is. I mean, we go down, you go down
and you watch a ball game. Boom, what have you
come on back? Yeah? You got business then you can
do you mean, it's a I mean, give me that,
but would I would love to be able to get
to Dallas to watch Cooper Rush. You know, well he's
there quarterback. Did you see the trade they made yesterday?

Speaker 4 (26:18):
Yes, Ezekiel Elliott for a first round pick or an
apple in a roadmap?

Speaker 1 (26:22):
They traded for Jonathan Mingo and they gave up a
twenty twenty five fourth round or for him not to
be kind receiver. Yeah, not to be confused with Barkavius
Mingo from the Panthers.

Speaker 4 (26:36):
I don't get him over the top. Why well, they
at least they can say they made more deals at
the trade deadline than they did in the off season.

Speaker 1 (26:44):
What I mean, what the hell for a fourth rounder?
Sorry about hawking? I was a hawk tua. Sorry excuse me? Yeah,
I did it off Mike, But sometimes when you hawk tua,
it's right that. No, no, what are you doing? Let

(27:06):
you say that, you boy?

Speaker 4 (27:07):
How do you spell hawk to h A w K
t u A yeah, h t A at h o?

Speaker 1 (27:14):
How would you know? Actually? When I was in scott
Stale for Labor Day, she was there. She was up
the in the section next to us at that gal. Yes,
when you refer it sounds like she have you seen
her in person? No, she's not even hot, doesn't have
to be hot. She came up with one of the
great lines of all time. Yeah, no, right, that thing

(27:34):
is I know it's fizzled, but she makes so much
money well and she How are you saying it's fizzled then,
because because it way?

Speaker 4 (27:43):
But you know, but have you heard her fifteen minutes
into fifteen millions?

Speaker 1 (27:47):
She sure did good for her. Hey, you've seen her podcast.
Listen to it. What can I do to give you
a sorry? Don't don't do any hawk. I just like
when you think about when you do it? What when
you clear your throat? I'm not see she turned it
into the sexual connotation, but I'm talking about no, but

(28:09):
I'm thinking about when you literally I get what you
what I just did. I could say whatever the hell
I want, but you can't sit. But now to when
we know what the meaning when you say you like
to smoke a pole, I don't when you say you
like to smoke a pole, and every one of us
in the city says, dude, that's not what anybody that
smokes a cigar I ask people, and I just said
I was just like hawk a loogie, yes, okay, not

(28:31):
not be like man. I love when I talked to him, sorry,
what you're doing? What?

Speaker 6 (28:35):
No?

Speaker 1 (28:35):
I didn't. I'm sure you.

Speaker 7 (28:38):
Guys got a love when I and you're like, I
love doing this love when I? Howked have you ever noticed?

Speaker 1 (28:45):
So you're doing what? Something so innocent, something so innocent
like nine months has turned into you can't say without
you did what? They turned her into a mean exactly man?

Speaker 4 (28:57):
Classic though, And can you imagine it when you're grandkids
and when you're old?

Speaker 1 (29:01):
Man? How did you? What did you make all your money?
A little hawk to a comment literally and without doing it?

Speaker 4 (29:07):
I just said the comment and the rest of it
took fold and I made a lot of money. Man,
isn't been amazing? She only in America? Can you know
something like that and get paid for it?

Speaker 1 (29:15):
You know what's crazy about the whole situation is the
guy that filmed her and asked the question and had
that interview. He didn't ask for money. He basically just
wanted like recognition, and she sued him. She's she's suing
him for the video. Oh gosh, yeah.

Speaker 4 (29:31):
I mean, who would have known that she had no
idea that was gonna no fly like it did? Were
such an immature society, were like, this is really cool?

Speaker 1 (29:41):
How cool. Let's give her twenty five million dollars for
HOWK tool Her podcast is. I haven't heard it? Oh do?
You don't want to it? You will lose brain stew Because.

Speaker 4 (29:49):
Somebody gave a one liner doesn't mean I'm paying them
big money to go on a podcast she reg on
a daily basis Only in America?

Speaker 1 (29:56):
Can we do?

Speaker 5 (29:56):
That?

Speaker 1 (29:57):
Brings her like like her actual like family friends and
like longtime friends on there, and they are just awful.
They're just as dumb as her. There's a group I
guarantee you there's a group being able to listen to
that though, and we love it. Don't even tell me
because I know I haven't. I'm sure it's fine and
dandy or it sucks, but I'm I got better things
to do than listen to Hayle. Is that her name? Yeah?

(30:20):
I just call her the hawk to a chick? Yeah,
HOWK to a girl? Yeah? And she got merch out.
You gotta be some merch out. Yeah. It's like hawk
to a twenty twenty four on there and stuff talk
to twenty twenty five to stop tripley get your boy
just make a great literally said, don't you guys love
when I talked to it. I was about to say, oh,

(30:47):
only in americauld you make that great again, guys, guy
who's been married sixty years. It damn right, though, Yeah,
there's probably people dropout that girl, honey, are you wat
coime here?

Speaker 8 (31:03):
Honey, I want you to see this. Take notes. She's
a and here's the exact technique too.

Speaker 1 (31:13):
Yeah. Man, she's killing it now though it's crazy. All right,
let's continue to talk about this NFL trade deadline. Texans
didn't make a move, but a couple AFC teams did.
Let's look at it next and Sports Talk sevent ninety.

Speaker 3 (32:29):
War Sean Salisbury. It's a Seawan Salisbury show.

Speaker 1 (32:35):
Obviously, there was a little change up in our lineup.
There were some things across the company, across the United States,
and unfortunately one of our teammates, stand Northfleet, it's no
longer with us at the company.

Speaker 4 (32:52):
Very talented, good guy, really good teammate. Unfortunate he'll find he'll, he'll.

Speaker 1 (32:57):
He's really good.

Speaker 4 (32:58):
And that's the only thing about corporate America sometimes when
things go on, you know that that's that's part of life,
the part that if you haven't been a part of already,
who hasn't, right, But it doesn't make it any better
for our guy, he'll We got a great line up
here and he was a part of a great lineup
and we're we're fortunate and you know he can lean
on us if he needs anything.

Speaker 1 (33:18):
Love stand yeah, I love stand utmost professional, really really talented.
He will find fun guy, great guy. Gentlemen, gentlemen, gentlemen.
You know our when we passed off to them that
we all have to we made stand o gentlemen, gentlemen. Yeah,
there's there's.

Speaker 4 (33:36):
Best, So don't stand. Ain't going far guys. You we'll
you'll find him. But great lineup, great team here and
uh he'll be missed here, but uh you know where
to find.

Speaker 1 (33:45):
I mean, you know he's got great opinion and he
loves doing this. Yeah and uh yeah, great great teammate,
great guy, very intelligent with every uh everything. When he
was on his show with Next Up him and Gordia,
I'm gonna miss listening to him and gordiell at each
other quite literally yell at each other. It was. It
was just a really good radio uh, in my opinion.
And you know, if you didn't notice yesterday, the Matt

(34:06):
Thomas Show will be after us from ten to two,
and then Adam and Adam and Dan Matthews will be
from two to six. So new line up here. Welcome
to the four hour show boys, I told Matt and
Rossis again yesterday. Welcome to big leagues boys, though we
don't mind the fourth hour, but ten am, no, yeah,
try thirty. No, they're we do. We got it. Like

(34:27):
I said, you had great show behind us. We'll still
have great show behind us. Good lineup.

Speaker 4 (34:32):
We're fortune, but we're gonna give them all the ribbon
we can because come on in early when the man
we're trying to go, let's go big leagues.

Speaker 1 (34:40):
Yeah, hey, this ain't triple A. You try to put
up her, shut up. You got to show him, show
out fortune. Good good teammates, man, We're lucky. A couple
of moves yesterday for the NFL trade deadline, these Steelers
went out and got Mike Williams from the Jets. So
they improved their wide receiver room.

Speaker 4 (34:55):
That's a question's gonna come up because you know what,
how come they got him?

Speaker 1 (34:59):
And you did you not try Mike Williams was available. Yeah,
and it cost them a fifth rounder, that's all. That's
all costs fifth rounder. Washington Commanders, they got Marshawn Lattimore
from the Saints and they had to give up a
third rounder, a fourth rounder, and a sixth rounder, all
in twenty twenty five. We said yesterday briefly, the Bengals

(35:22):
got Khalil Herbert took them seventh rounder, so they upgraded
their running back room. And then the big one for
me and you as well, Shawn as the Lions edge
rusher Zadarius Smith comes over to Detroit from the Browns
for a twenty twenty five fifth rounder and a twenty
twenty sixth sixth rounder. That dude is a good player
and he's gonna help the Lions out tremendously on their

(35:45):
defensive line. Okay, let's go to four teams. What's the
Steelers record? What are they seven two? Something like that?

Speaker 4 (35:51):
Yeah, okay, what did they go get? What with the
question about them? We know their defense?

Speaker 2 (35:56):
Good?

Speaker 4 (35:56):
Would we say they need. I mean that that did
they feel they need they need wide receiver? And would
they do fifth rounder? What did Detroit need with Hutchinson
out ed rusher? What did they get an ed rusher?
Baltimore given more it's not just Derrek Henry's not Lamar Jackson,
Mark Andrews.

Speaker 1 (36:10):
What did they do? They went out and they've got
Deontay Johnson, a wide receiver.

Speaker 4 (36:14):
And added added depth and a guy who can play
for you for a very inexpensive price. Kansas City went
and added a Pro Bowl Hall of Fame type guy
at wide receiver who doesn't even I mean he's going
to stumble into six catches a week.

Speaker 1 (36:27):
Yeah, and what do you make eight last week? You
think he had eight for eighty or ninety five ninety
yards just.

Speaker 4 (36:33):
The threat alone. So now you look at that four
Pittsburgh leads their division.

Speaker 1 (36:37):
Oh, don't even forget about Amari Cooper went to Buffalo.
But there's another team, but you know Buffalo, you wide receiver,
five teams, five situations, five needs.

Speaker 4 (36:47):
Four teams that are all right now would have high
seeds in the playoffs, or even Baltimore, who would wouldn't
win the division right now, that's Pittsburgh I believes in
first place right now?

Speaker 1 (36:57):
Are they not? And Kansas City added in an ed
rusher as well. That's exactly because they made two deals.

Speaker 4 (37:01):
Yes, so when you start to look at saying okay,
we're there, January is not good enough and a team
like Buffalo Baltimore, they they you're right, So they say,
how do we strengthen because what's the what's the measuring
stick or the where you want the line in the sand?
It can't say chiefs right, and you don't want them
to make it a line in concrete because you don't
want them to continue to have the stronghold on it.
They they've had it for a minute and now going

(37:23):
for three in a row. So when you upgrade, you
also five teams that just these five all of them
made their roster better.

Speaker 1 (37:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (37:33):
So the question is, and you're probably gonna know what
our callers call in. I'm sure they stayed up late
last night and trying to get some sleep as well.

Speaker 1 (37:40):
But when you start to call a lock.

Speaker 4 (37:41):
Night seven seven ninety is did you'll say, well, why
were we and the Mike Williams mix or were they
not interested?

Speaker 1 (37:50):
What? And did you did you notice for the most part.

Speaker 4 (37:52):
No big fella blocking and protecting their quarterback on any
good team moved. Yeah no not not so what in
the building. It's either in the building your bust, brother,
That's how you're going to win this thing.

Speaker 1 (38:02):
So yesterday Cam Robinson offensive tackle, he was the only
offensive lineman that was moved. And Cam Robinson, but he
he is a He went to the look the Vikings
adding depth their offensive line and that was I was
on that. Didn't that happen last week?

Speaker 4 (38:24):
I mean we got the last because I was on
there talking with Minnesota late last week and they're I
mean with a co host, Amberrero, and he said, Sean,
what can you talk about about Cam Robinson? I told
him that, you know, this guy was a high draft
pick and probably underachieved from what he had right which
you thought you'd get from him. But he adds he's
a body with a lot of experience that can help.

(38:47):
He's not the Pro Bowl guy. You know, he was
a high draft pick and he's had played a lot
of football. So that's a good get for them because
you can plug him in and say we got a
guy who gives us some experience there. So he's the
one to move, and that was last week before the
any of the trade deadline hit. Minnesota got out in
front of it, and a lot of those trades you mentioned.
People did the Hopkins, they did the Baltimore Ravens, Johnson

(39:09):
at wide receiver. They got out in front of theirs,
so they didn't have to get into a bidding war
on Tuesday yesterday. So five teams, five needs five answers.
The question is are the Texans still one of those.

Speaker 1 (39:20):
Teams even with injuries and even though they didn't upgrade
at either position before the trade deadline, with the injury
to digs and with the lack of production at times
in past protection too many times, quite frankly, I thought,
and again we don't know if they were in on
an offensive lineman just to add some depth, But I
just figured, with the state of the offensive line and

(39:41):
the struggles they've had, that you'd overpay to get somebody.

Speaker 4 (39:43):
Yeah, you asked me yesterday, do I think they'd make
a move that will change the way they are, even
though at six and three make them better? And I
told I didn't think it'd be a wow factor move.
If it was anything, it'd be a depth move. But
what they what do you have is what you see
is what you get. We're gonna find out just if
they can start to scheme wise and flat out guts

(40:04):
and getting better, Yeah, execute better, protecting the pastor because
you can't keep living like that, No, you cannot. And
the pressure on Mixing to be the guy all the time.
At some point somebody's gonna hold him to fifty yards?

Speaker 1 (40:14):
Right then? What? Yeah? Then what are you gonna do? Yep?
And it could easily be this weekend against a really, really,
really good Lions team. Let's continue this discussion on the
Houston Texans and the trade deadline that has come and gone.
Are you surprised that didn't make a move. Let us
know how you feeling about it. Seven point three, two
point two five seveninety. We'll get to your calls next
as beginning the seven o'clock hour right here on Sports
Talk seven to eighty.

Speaker 4 (40:36):
There's a lot of place they's gonna charge you a
lot more money to do your thing when it comes
to curt ofpro sertapro dot com Cert of Propainters cirtapro
dot com for your free estimate and all the safety
protocols you need. Each and every cert of pro business
is individually owned and operated, which gives you that boutique
feel that you would want when people knowing who you are,

(40:56):
what your tastes are, help you pick out the paint
colors if you want to change indoor, outdoor, interior, exterior,
business or home. It's expensive to own a home in
a business, isn't it?

Speaker 1 (41:07):
So why wouldn't you protect it with the quality painting
of sort of pro painters. It's expensive and so you
want it done right, and they do it right. And
I was a customer first, which makes me proud to
be part of a great team that came into my home,
did three or four rooms, did some exterior stuff for me,
and I'm like, now that's the way it's supposed to
be done. You di I wires, I love you. But

(41:27):
even if they can go one better and free up
your time to do something else, why wouldn't you It's
sort of pro painters, sort of with the c sertopro

the Houston Astros. There is no better sort of pro

Speaker 5 (41:43):
Saulisbury, Old Very Salbury, Houston.

Speaker 3 (41:48):
Okay, let's do this Sewan Salisbury, The usc.

Speaker 2 (41:54):
Truths, longtime friend Shown Salisbury.

Speaker 3 (41:56):
Ryan Lima, go Lobo, this is the On Salsbury Show.

Speaker 1 (42:05):
You're listening to the Sean Salisbury Show. Right, amazing.

Speaker 4 (42:07):
How I didn't drink any coffee or any have any
caffeine to day, but man, my energy.

Speaker 1 (42:12):
And I slept on the r man. I feel like
I have four cups of caffeine. I think I got
about two and a half hours of sleep last night.
You feel pretty good today? Feel great? Do I feel fantastic?
I feel incredible because of trade deadline? Right exactly, it's coming.
Go on, Texas didn't do a damn thing. Ye, first

(42:34):
college football playoff has been or a college football playoff
ranking has been released. We're going to go through that
as well. Also, did the Texans make a mistake by
not making a move? And Dana Brown speaks to the
media about Alex Bregman. Who've got that audio? Nothing else
happening in the world though, So it's fine.

Speaker 4 (42:54):
It's a good day, man, sports Triple E looks bright
eyed and bushy tails or does it's uh, you know
we're here, it's not raining this morning. It's like pretty cool.
Life's good life is good today? What's good today?

Speaker 1 (43:11):
Western Wednesday?

Speaker 4 (43:12):
My toes wood that's in the sand? Oh, zb man,
let's start with z B z B. No, what toes
in the sand says? It's a you know, it's like, uh,
you know, you're just kicking it right. Holiday season coming up?

Speaker 1 (43:32):
Happy. I mean, everybody's happy for the holiday season. You
know what I'm saying. Right exact, Texans are in first place?
Uh huh?

Speaker 4 (43:37):
Astros may retain Alex Bregman try well, of course they
got a shot. This is his crib. You got college
football playoff out. I mean, what's not to like about
what's going on? You're here, Triple E's here. You haven't taken,
you didn't take. I'm surprised you didn't pull a handy
last night. No, I'm on the right side of the.

Speaker 1 (43:57):
Exactly. Get your head on the living room with my dogs.

Speaker 4 (44:02):
Oh you know what, David Bowie dancing in the streets.
You you love that gun in the streets.

Speaker 1 (44:06):
That's cut. But that's not even a country cup. But
we're gonna make it one, as we say, absolutely all right.
You know what I think it should. I think today
should just be all requests Wednesday. I can deal with
well the request Wednesday, I got about I got about
forty five of them. Get R O. C K in
the USA fire back up, man, man, I feel that
way every day. Life is good today. No, Sean, you're

(44:27):
not going Zach Brown, Man, I good to talk to
you about that. Yeah, good to see you. There's a
couple of shows i'd like taped today that I never watch. Yeah,
I would love to see that. There's a few shows
around the country. I really, I really, I really I'd
like to I'd like them taped just just to show.

(44:48):
I don't know what those are, but one of them
just give you a good view. But it's I can't
wait to see that one or hear that one. Listen
if humans, if humans were made of gold, follow around,
because you could melt it down into a lot of
money right now and it'll start right there. Is good

(45:08):
today anyway.

Speaker 4 (45:10):
College football ranking, Man, I know this about that this
game against LSU and BAMA this week loser out three
losses CC LSU Alabama. So this is single elimination because
in truth, now with twelve teams, no disrespect to the bullsys,
you still want to go get your ring and your

(45:31):
watch and all that stuff. Right, and get some extra
practice in for younger guys. But if you're outside the
twelve at the end of the season, and if you're
Alabama or LSU or you're not looking at and saying
that's kind of a letdown of a season for you. Yeah, honestly,
so I just was thinking about that because that's a
big matchup because loser goes home and think about the
enthusiasm or lack thereof. Now, I know you got to play,

(45:53):
I know the end of the seed you I'll get
this month of the season and all that, But when
you're eliminated from twelve team, you could be eliminated from
before team or early right twelve team, are you hanging
around hanging around now? It's like it's it almost feels
like that. I wonder if now these players are even
going to treat the bowl games even worse. I mean
when I say worse, meaning if you're not in the

(46:15):
top twelve and you're a draft eligible player that's got
your I mean, we've seen a lot of it. You
may see a to the point of or the commission
you know you can't, but where you want to come
in and say you're anything a player get fined you
can't do that because we don't have that legal system
in the college, you know, with not yet right, it's
coming if the unions come about and all that and

(46:36):
pay for play with all this, you know, with the
revenue sharing. But it's like you lose, Now, how think
about the coaching job and the players to keep your
enthusiasm just to oh where you're playing in a mid
December bowl game or you know what I'm saying a
little bit hyperbolically, right, but if you not, there's anything
wrong with it. But Alabama and LSU don't think like that.

(46:57):
So that's just an example there of you losing your out.

Speaker 1 (47:01):
So for here on it's now single elimination for two
teams like that. Oh, and you've got Georgia and Ole Miss.
You've got LSU and who did you say? Alabama? Alabama?
They've got those two games. I'm pretty sure both of
them are this weekend.

Speaker 4 (47:17):
They are well, I know, I know with Alabama ls
music that in Death Valley of Saturday.

Speaker 1 (47:20):
Night, and I'm pretty sure it's Georgia Old Miss on
Saturday Night.

Speaker 4 (47:24):
Which is a huge, huge matchup Saturday at two thirty.

Speaker 1 (47:28):
Yeah, that good. I don't want them both on it
at the same time, even though you've got more than
one TV that we can watch, but you want to
focus on that one, right I And then this college
football thing, man, I am got this.

Speaker 4 (47:41):
And then if your Army, this is gonna be great.
Good think about this too. Single elimination is kind. But
if your Army b YU, if your Boise State, if
you're one of those teams you you've been on single
elimination for weeks.

Speaker 1 (47:57):
Look at that. No respect Army to Army at all
twenty five yeah at eight. No, you got Kansas State
seven and two, Colorado six and two ahead of you.
I always stay. Just got embarrassed by Texas.

Speaker 4 (48:12):
I would actually like to see Colorado play Army because
you know what, while Colorado wash them ball all over
the place, I'm not sure Colorado's defense to be able
to stop that.

Speaker 1 (48:21):
Option. Washington State, come on, man, say they're giving.

Speaker 4 (48:25):
They're given like the bigger, you know, the bigger they're
talking schedule the rest of But I'm gonna tell you what.
Guess guess who Teams like that don't want to play.
I don't want a team like Army. They don't. They
just don't because they're too hard to defend. So Louisville
six and three ahead of them. Yeah, that's that's Louisville's
good program. That's just flat out disrespectful free loss. Yeah,

(48:46):
that's it. That's a regardless of what the program says
or with the the history of your programmer, with your schedules,
when you lose three games, you don't deserve to be
ahead of an eight NO team just because they're a
military academy.

Speaker 1 (48:57):
I don't deserve to be ranked in my opinion, it does.

Speaker 4 (48:59):
Hell, okay, then, yet that's exactly right. That's exactly then
if you're telling me a six and three teams ranked
that high, a high of an eight NO team, then
why in the world is LSU or the loser of
this game pretty much out of the playoff when they're
gonna be at three wins? So you got to tell
me right now. Louisville's done right right, so is Army Armies.

(49:21):
Here's what's the crazy thing about it. Armies ranked far
below Louisville, and Louisville's got a better or however many
rankings are, and Louisville's and Army's got a better chance
to be in the playoff than Louisville.

Speaker 1 (49:31):
Yeah, so why why why make them climb a ladder?
Even more than that, It's not fair, that's what it
And you know what, that's one right.

Speaker 4 (49:40):
I hope I hope b Yu and Boise I do.
I hope by US and the Boise States and the
armies of the world. I hope they ll run the table.
So these guys have to make a decision. We're sitting
down and what are you gonna tell me? If Army
runs the table, We're gonna lookt him and say they're twentieth.

Speaker 1 (49:53):
Yeah, there's no chance like that. That's absolute. That's just mad, disrespectful.
And also it's just not right when it comes to
a ranking system. Look at look at the teams that
I just mentioned, Louisville six and three ahead of Army,
Washington State seven and one, Colorado six and two, Kansas
State seven and two, and then Iowa State just got
their ass beat not on the score but physically by

(50:15):
Texas tech manhandled Iowa State. Now there's seven and one,
so I just you know, and I look at Missouri
also six and two. They're gonna get a nod ahead
of them because they're in the SEC. But some of
these losses. A three loss Louisville team, Come on, it's
crazy how they Uh that's too much respect for Louisville

(50:37):
right now? Yeah? And then uh so, just looking at
these full rankings, you have Oregon, Ohio State, Georgia, Miami
that's your first four. Then you've got Texas, Penn State, Tennessee,
Indiana still no respect for Indiana at nine to zero,
b YU number nine, Notre Dame number ten, Alabama number eleven,
and then Boise Snate, Boise State number twelve, and the

(50:57):
first four looking looking in from the top twelve SMU,
Texas A and m LSU and Ole Miss. So it's
gonna be I can't wait. This is gonna be crazy
down the stretch Indiana. What if Indiana rolls the table?
What about BYU? What about a Boise State team?

Speaker 4 (51:15):
Well, if LSU think about this, this LSU's lost twice
or once this year twice?

Speaker 1 (51:20):
Right, LSU is six and two.

Speaker 4 (51:22):
Not LSU, I know they're sixty two, and so is Alabama. Yeah,
Ole Miss, Ole Miss is seven and two.

Speaker 1 (51:28):
There you go.

Speaker 4 (51:28):
Yeah, if Ole Miss loses this weekend, and think about this,
two SEC teams eliminate themselves. Fro the playoffs this weekend
more than likely unless craziness happens in front of them.
The loser of the LSU Alabama game gone. I can't
imagine the Louisville. You can't continue to tell me a
three loss team that they're in the hunt. If that's

(51:50):
the case, then the loser of the LSU and I
mean a loser of the LSU Alabama game shouldn't go home.
But three losses, I can't do it. If it meant
put in the Boise State and Army ahead of you.
If they're undefeated and your three losses, they deserve to
be ahead of you, even though if you played head
to head. But you know what, that's part of it.

(52:11):
That's part of the thing you've asked. You tell the
smaller guys to go and go undefeated and we'll consider it. Well,
then there you have it. So they'd have to do that.
But think about this. Two SEC teams more than likely
get eliminated with losses this week, and that is all
miss if they get beat They played Georgia, Is that right?

Speaker 1 (52:27):
Yeah? And there's that there's that chance, And.

Speaker 4 (52:31):
And the loser of the ls and have a death
Valley loses the LSU Alabama in two powerhouses or teams
at the beginning of the year that we thought national
title hopes. If they both have three losses, those two
teams go home and they're not going to make the playoff.
You don't have enough ground to make enough time to
make up the ground in November to be there.

Speaker 9 (52:49):
Yeah, we got like three after this, You've got like
three or four regular This is four regular season games left,
I think per some I mean, you think about this.

Speaker 4 (53:00):
We get by the weekend after Thanksgiving. The only game
after that is what Army Navy. Oh my gosh, in
early December. Oregon's got three games left. That's what I'm saying.
We blinked and all there. And you know what, I
don't know how Organ's gonna what's the rest of their schedule?

Speaker 1 (53:13):
The Maryland, Wisconsin, Washington. They're not losing, No, they're they're
they're not losing. They'll be the number one team right.

Speaker 4 (53:20):
As they got to do is just play the way
they've played and they will be the number one seed
going in.

Speaker 1 (53:24):
They've been rolling.

Speaker 4 (53:25):
Oh, I don't see how they're gonna get beat Washington's
not the same team even, I mean, they've beaten some teams,
but they're not the same team as they were last year.
The last couple of years good but not that good. Wisconsin.
They still got to learning how to throw the ball
a little bit better. Wisconsin still got a ways to
go to build that team to where I know they
want to. And then who's the last one? Maryland they're

(53:46):
gonna do. The Organs winning all three, they're going they
will be the number one seed going.

Speaker 1 (53:50):
In crazy first year in the Big Ten, and they
just they're loaded and Dan Lanning's got a program going
on now. Man, if you're if you're a recruit, why
would you not want to go to Oregon? Dude? I
mean just you know, some recruits Oregon and Eugene may
not be Yeah, but the Nike connection, whether you like

(54:11):
a beautiful area, there's there's no doubt. But you know
some some want to be in California.

Speaker 4 (54:16):
Some have a legacy if you're in the South, going
to the where it rains two hundred days a year.
Just it's just hard sometimes to convince an eighteen year old,
seventeen year old kid that this is where you want.

Speaker 1 (54:25):
But then they walk in the facility and say, oh,
and you get to play for that guy and the truth. Yeah,
and I'm a huge fan of Dan Land. Oh easy
to be Yeah, easy to be a huge fan of
they They they got it going on. Well there, they'd
have to really play bad to get beaten one of
these three games. They won't and they'll be the number
one seed with a bye and then waiting on who
comes next, and then they'll bust. The only thing we

(54:49):
got to deal with them is what kind of uniforms
are going to play the next three weeks? You know? Yeah,
like communt yep, Yeah, it's gonna be nuts man looking ahead.
Uh for some of these excuse me for some of
these games that'll have big implications on the college football
playoff as the first rankings have come out. Got a
lot of football to get into today. Also, Dana Brown

(55:09):
spoke to the media yesterday at the GM meetings, and
he spoke about Alex Bregman, spoke about Justin Verlander. So
we'll play that audio starting at eight o'clock this morning.
Let's talk to Houston Texans football. Did they make a
mistake by not getting a player yesterday at the trade deadline?
That's next on Sports Talk seven to eighty.

Speaker 5 (55:31):
Hello, haters from La to New York, Parker up and
kiss houur ass astros. Oh my goodness, this is Sports
Talk seven ninety Home of your Astros, still twenty seventeen, chaps,
doubt about.

Speaker 3 (55:49):
It, Sean Salisbury show continues.

Speaker 1 (55:53):
Right now, let's rock. Let's get back to noise that
is burdened by what will be what? Sorry, rockets, So
spurs tonight seven o'clock tip off, six o'clock launch, pat

(56:15):
right here on seven one of your home four w
What do you break this out? Man? I don't you know,
greatness cackling idiots. Stop. We didn't know, we did not anyway, Yeah, anyway,
you guys have a good night. Yeah. Do you watch hockey?

(56:37):
No you didn't. I did see the Utah Hockey Club loss.
So ah, one of these days we'll have one here.
I hope one of these days. I hope you gotta
you gotta think it's coming soon, right.

Speaker 4 (56:50):
I would love to well now because Arizona move to
that was your number one slot, possibly you know, grabbing
the coyotes you call them coyotes or coyotes, yodies you
call the yodies.

Speaker 1 (57:01):
Yeah, okay, so the yoats, you know, go to Utah.

Speaker 4 (57:04):
So you were maybe helping a little franchise transfer fee,
you know what I'm saying. But now that they got
there is now you're gonna have to little expansion. But
there's no why not here? That should be big place
to go. Got everything you want here, so that'd be awesome.
Love to be able to talk about that every day.
Why not us?

Speaker 1 (57:20):
There? You go tell me that's not a cliche any
underdog ever? Why not? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (57:26):
My favorite is when when you're like the number three
team in the country and you're playing the why not
US card? Well, you only got forty seven five star recruits,
but I don't know why not you?

Speaker 1 (57:34):
Oh yeah, the underdog New York Yankees and they're undred
million dollars. Nobody thinks we're any good?

Speaker 4 (57:40):
Yeah, when you're paying everybody four billion dollars each and
nobody thinks you're good.

Speaker 3 (57:44):
Wrong?

Speaker 1 (57:45):
You know that? Try try to play that bulletin board
material that sometimes doesn't work right. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (57:50):
It's like a billionaire saying, man, you know what, tough
time to getting to work, that gas was expensive, while
he's got his own gas pump at the crib, right,
feel me, dog?

Speaker 1 (57:57):
Yeah, pick it up. You're putting down You think the
Texans made a mistake not making a move yesterday. I
make no mistake, tripley, can you get that first round?
Ub do? I think the Texans made a mistake.

Speaker 4 (58:07):
I told you yesterday though, that you want to engage
with other teams, what's the price to pay to get
what you want?

Speaker 2 (58:14):
Now?

Speaker 4 (58:14):
If you sat here and said, Sean, here's five here's
five trades they went after, and all of them fell through,
And here's the reason why. And it was because they
either went in on the cheap, they didn't want to
pay the price to get somebody, They felt like they
didn't have enough control over a few years, too much
money on a guy, maybe the guy's age backed him off,

(58:34):
or maybe they just they wanted too many assets for
a high priced guy the other team did. If you
told me the reason and said they just weren't engaged
in it, then I'd have a problem with it. I
don't know who they engaged with. I have a problem
because I don't think they got better, that's for sure.
And I think Baltimore got better. I think Kansas City
got better. I think the Detroit Lions got better. And

(58:55):
right now, those are three teams you may have to
get through two of them to get to the super
Bowl and through the playoffs, and one of them do
you have to beat in the NFC and you're gonna
have to beat on Sunday night, could very well be
the same team. So I'm a big believer in it's
like anything else. When you're when you're kicking ass, kick
ass more and market more. If you're one of those

(59:15):
in that type of business, if you're UH, when everything's
going to hell in a hand basket, advertise more because
you know what, well, everybody else is gone. Now you
get to dominate the always football when you got the
when you got an embarrassment of riches, or even if
you don't do more. Why is it that the best
three teams in football did something that's crazy, isn't it.
Why didn't they just sit back and say we're good?

(59:37):
Why because they understand depth and what it takes. So
this isn't a knock on the Texans. I just don't
know what they were engaged with. Did they Do they
think that their offensive lines fixable in their own building?
Do they think that Do they think that wide receiver wise,
we're going to be fine. Nico Collins is coming back,
We're gonna be okay. So are they comfortable or they
they try to make something happen and it just didn't

(59:58):
work because they didn't either want to give up the assets,
so nobody wanted to play in the sand with them.

Speaker 1 (01:00:02):
Looks like the only thing they did was they traded
defensive tackle Khalil Davis to the forty nine ers in
exchange exchange for a draft pick. That's it. That's all
they did. Well, that doesn't do anything for them this year.
Now the question is, you know, are once again you're
going to take that draft pick, another draft pick, and
another one and piece it together somebody else.

Speaker 4 (01:00:20):
But the trade deadline's over, right. We had ended at
three o'clock yees day or something, right, So now you're
stuck with what you got, yeah, and what we said
it as well. And I think a lot of people
if you're begging for now, if you're the Kansas City
Chiefs getting Hopkins beforehand, now that's that one. You say, well,
what's another piece that can really help us big time?

(01:00:41):
You're going to help them, so you say this, okay,
But the truth is most teams, what's in the building
by the trade deadline. You got to win with that right,
But it sure is nice when you get a guy
who's got Hall of Fame numbers and it's still got
game with and you know he's going to play better
as he did when he got Mahomesto on you the
ball and Andy Reid calm plays. So the thing is

(01:01:03):
they didn't get better? Will they be better the second half.

Speaker 1 (01:01:07):
Of the season, meaning the Texans, Yeah, they didn't do
anything to improve their team, Meshid.

Speaker 4 (01:01:13):
Well, then it puts pressure on the ones that are
in the building. The question is, now you got two choices.
Do you get comfortable because they didn't trade for a
guy at your position? You say, cool, they think I'm
playing really good? Or is there a sense of urgency
that says this may this opportunity to get this second
chance to go kick ass, especially if you're up front
of an offensive line, because they're getting evaluated when they

(01:01:34):
walk across the room and eat lunch, and if they're not,
then something's wrong.

Speaker 1 (01:01:37):
Yeah, excuse me. The NFL trade deadline has come and gone.
Let's take a look at some of the big moves
in the AFC. One of the teams that the Texans
would eventually face in the playoffs made some moves yesterday.
So we'll look at that seven sevenineties the number to
join walls to take your calls. That's next right here,
Sports Stark seven to eighty.

Speaker 3 (01:01:57):
The Sewn Salisbury Show continued.

Speaker 1 (01:02:02):
Good entertainer though you know fron me.

Speaker 4 (01:02:04):
Maybe one well, one of the best frontmen of all
time entertainment. It's no doubt I would say, you can't
leave Mick Jagger out of you, out of your team picture, No,
you can't.

Speaker 1 (01:02:12):
You have to Bowie.

Speaker 4 (01:02:14):
I know it's hard to say underrated by the way
old school no Bowie overrated to the new school folk?

Speaker 1 (01:02:20):
Did they didn't?

Speaker 4 (01:02:20):
You know what I'm saying that you know, like your
age group, honestly that may not kind of a tweener
and even at uh Triple E's age probably don't know
enough about David Bodo Bowie to appreciate or hear him
enough on radio now that you could say, oh yeah, man,
the guys you know when they play the songs all
the time.

Speaker 1 (01:02:38):
Underrated. David Bowie to me has always been underrated. Dancing
in the streets.

Speaker 4 (01:02:43):
What a great cut, huh? I could picture those two?
Have you ever seen the music video.

Speaker 1 (01:02:46):
Of those two? It's awesome vide. Yeah, there you go.
You got a record all requests Wednesday Sports Talk seven
aty KB ME. I'm gonna say all come up with one.
There you go. Okay. Usually it's about to go anywhere
with you by by uh uh jacoing Jacoen Okay, anywhere

(01:03:09):
with you? I mean we we gotta go. Right.

Speaker 4 (01:03:11):
It could be Scottsdale. It could be mar Lago. I
don't know where we're going.

Speaker 1 (01:03:15):
Hell could be to Wisconsin, could be Wiscanson, could be,
could be Pennsylvania, could be and it could be right here,
could be dead matter, we're just we're in this love together.
Could be f M fourteen sixty three.

Speaker 4 (01:03:26):
Yeah, hey, q hey. It could be Boston. Queue the boat,
que the duck boats.

Speaker 1 (01:03:32):
I'll tell you what. Dancing in the street, heat the
people out there and Katie full Shore fourteen sixty three.
They got to get that construction figured out. Dude, what
do you mean? Sounds terrible? I've lived. It's perpetual. It's
like a treadmill.

Speaker 4 (01:03:46):
It's unbel's it's similar to here, tell me I'm not right,
folks six ten in West Timer, Oh God, all right,
I want you to start West Timer down.

Speaker 1 (01:03:55):
Was it guestner, Where were you talking about? Right here? Yeah,
just get let's just say Galleria, yeah, Sam Fleet Bay
and all right, that area just just over there by
True Lux right start there and head towards six ten
and stay on West Timer and go all the way
to Kirby. All that.

Speaker 4 (01:04:12):
What they do is they fake pay. They put a
band aid on the road. It's it's uneven. I've been
here now since twenty thirteen, and I'm just telling you
here's what it is, because I lived over there for
a minute. And you know, we all drive that area,
and everybody in this listening knows exactly where I'm talking about.
You go right right by Steak forty eight, you know,
right there, Yeah, and it goes down and then they

(01:04:34):
go down. They pay with they the roads are closed.
There's always cones there. And then you get down it's
a it's a cluster at every intersection. And then you
get down to like Kirby, even if a little further
that way, just take a your turn. Two years later,
come back. They what they do is they get to
the end and they start way back, and by the
time you get back, all the rain and all the
thing can and Christmas time is miserablecause this guy, I

(01:04:56):
mean wh I'm talking about, it's gonna be crowded and
they'll be construction and you'll get back to six ten.
Just flip another U and head back the other way
towards Kirby. And it's perpetual. It's a treadmill, it's a saying,
it's a root, it's a frigging hamster. And so that's
what it is. So yes, and now we're at the
FM fourteen sixty three and Katie full, you're exactly right,
they said twenty twenty seven. Since I've been out there,

(01:05:18):
it's been the same thing. And then it rains and
they can't do construct. It's dude, if you're in a hurry,
don't come to my town. No, unless it's ESCO. We
got plenty of time for peeps, right, But it is.
It's maddening. That's the one thing about it. I love
this city and I love this state, but there's more
construct maybe it's going on. And how about if you're

(01:05:40):
going to San Antonio, tell me the last time in
fifteen years that you have gone from here to San
Antonio either way west or east. Once you get to Katie,
I ten, it's the same way as West Timer and
sixty eight. You'll get there. There's construction from here to
there every single day, every single night for a decade

(01:06:03):
plus and I'm still trying to widen one. Come in
the other side. Now it's your turn to set there,
and it's just it's just boomed back and forth. It's
like doing the the the ladder for football one after
you know, the sideways, boom boom boom, boom, boom boom
all the way down and when you get there, start again.
If you're in a hurry, stay away from that area.
Same thing going east towards like Charles, Yes, towards Beaumont. Yeah, yeah,
there's no question they SANDWICHI in brother. That's the only

(01:06:26):
thing about it. It's like the construction. It's like feels
like it takes a little longer here. But maybe are
probably bitching about it too, We all do. It's a
relative to where you are, because we all bitch about it.
Boston when they had the deep with the the dig
that they had where it's like it's and the's still
going on, You're like, when is this going to get done?

Speaker 1 (01:06:44):
Well all we always had that complaint. But other than
if that's the biggest complaint we got here. Life's good. Well,
it's gonna be pretty uh excuse me, pretty bad when
they start that construction on forty five fifty nine and
that whole project playing in East Downtown basically trying to
put the freeway underground, a low ground. What we're doing, Well,
they'll go underlood here when it one half an inch.
Just give me a bullet train here to Dallas, dude. Yeah,

(01:07:04):
why why do we not have that?

Speaker 4 (01:07:05):
That'll give me one of those that gets you there
in about an hour? Yeah, hour and ten minutes. Yeah,
whatever that is. I mean, we go down, you go
down and you watch a ball game. Boom, what have
you come on back? Yeah, you got business and you
can do.

Speaker 1 (01:07:16):
I mean it's a I mean, give me that, but
I would I would love to be able to get
to Dallas to watch Cooper Rush. You know, well he's
their quarterback. Did you see the trade they made yesterday?

Speaker 4 (01:07:27):
Yes, Ezekiel Elliott for a first round pick or an
apple in a roadmap.

Speaker 1 (01:07:31):
They traded for Jonathan Mingo and they gave up a
twenty twenty five fourth rounder for him not to be
kinder receiver. Yeah, not to be confused with Barkavius Mingo
from the Panthers.

Speaker 4 (01:07:45):
I don't get him over the top. Why well, they
at least they can say they made more deals at
the trade deadline than they did in the off season.
What I mean, what the hell for a fourth rounder?
Sorry about hawking, I was a hawk toua sorry excuse me? Hold, yeah,

(01:08:06):
I did it off Mike, But sometimes when you hawked toua, it's.

Speaker 1 (01:08:08):
Stop or right.

Speaker 7 (01:08:11):
That?

Speaker 1 (01:08:11):
No, No, what are you doing?

Speaker 5 (01:08:14):
You say that?

Speaker 2 (01:08:16):
Boy?

Speaker 1 (01:08:16):
How do you spell hawk to h A w K
t u A yeah, h t A yes at h O.
How would you know? Actually? When I was in Scottsdale
for Labor Day, she was there. She was up the
in the section next to us. That that gal. Yes,
I you refer but it sounds like she have you
seen her in person? No, she's not even hot. Doesn't

(01:08:38):
have to be hot. She came up with one of
the great lines of all time. Yeah, no, the right
thing is but it's fizzled. But she makes so much money?
Well then and she how are you saying it's fizzled then,
because because it'll way But you know, but have you
heard her fifteen minutes into fifteen million? She sure did
good for her. Hey, you've seen her podcast, listen to it.

(01:09:00):
I do give you a honk. Sorry, don't don't do
any I just like to say, when you think about
when you do it, do what when you clear your throat.
I'm not see she turned it into the sexual connotation.
But I'm talking about no, but I'm thinking about when
you literally I get what you like. When I just did,

(01:09:21):
I could say whatever the hell I want, but you
can't sit. But now today, when we know what the
meaning when you say you like to smoke a pole,
I don't when you say you like to smoke a pole,
and every one of us in the city says, dude,
that's not what anybody that smokes the cigar I ask people,
and I just said I was just hawk a loogie, yes, okay,
not not be like man I love when I hawked

(01:09:41):
to him. I'm sorry what you're doing what No, I
didn't even shot. I'm sure you.

Speaker 7 (01:09:47):
Guys got to love when I off and you're like,
I learned doing this love when I howked?

Speaker 1 (01:09:53):
Have you ever noticed so you're doing something? So it
said something? So it is s like nine months ago,
it's turned into you can't say without saying you did
what athlete should? They turned her into a meme, you
know exactly? Man, classic though, And can you imagine going
it when your grandkids are when you're old? Hey, man,
how did you? What did you make all your money?

Speaker 4 (01:10:13):
A little hawk to a comment? Literally and without doing it.
I just said the comment and the rest of it
took full and I made a lot of money. Man,
it'ded amazing. She only in America? Can you know something
like that and get paid for it?

Speaker 1 (01:10:24):
You know what's crazy about the whole situation is the
guy that filmed her and asked the question and had
that interview. He didn't ask for money. He basically just
wanted like recognition, and she sued him. She's she's suing
him for the video.

Speaker 4 (01:10:38):
Oh gosh, yeah, I mean, who would have known that
she had no idea that was gonna no fly like
it did.

Speaker 1 (01:10:44):
Uh, we're such an immature society. Were like, this is
really cool? How cool? Let's give her twenty five million
dollars for hawk tool her podcast is? I haven't heard it?
Oh do you don't want to? You will lose brain
cells because somebody gave a one liner.

Speaker 4 (01:11:00):
Doesn't mean I'm paying the big money to go on
a podcast. She's on a reg on a daily basis.
Only in America can we do that?

Speaker 1 (01:11:05):
Dring her like like her actual like family friends and
like longtime friends on there, and they are just awful.
They're just as dumb as her.

Speaker 4 (01:11:14):
There's a group. I guarantee you there's a group able
to listen to that though, and we love it. Don't
even tell me because I know I haven't. I'm sure
it's fine and dandy or it sucks, but I'm I
got better things.

Speaker 1 (01:11:24):
To do than listen to. Hey, is that her name? Yeah?
I just call her the hawk to a chick? Yeah,
howk to a girl? Yeah? And she got merch out.
You gotta be some merch out. Yeah. It's like hawk
to a twenty twenty four on there and stuff to
stop triple get your boy just make a great literally said,

(01:11:47):
don't you guys love when I talk to it. I
was about to say, oh, only in americauld you make
that great again? This guy who's been married sixty years?
It damn right though? Yeah, it's probably will drop out
that girl. Honey, are you watching this? Shy? Come here, honey,

(01:12:12):
I want you to see this.

Speaker 8 (01:12:14):
Take notes. She's all and here's the exact technique too.

Speaker 1 (01:12:21):
Yeah. Man, she's killing it now though it's crazy. All right,
let's continue to talk about this NFL trade deadline. Texans
didn't make a move, but a couple AFC teams did.

It's a Sean Salisbury show. Obviously, there was a little

(01:13:45):
change up in our lineup. There were some things across
the company, across the United States, and unfortunately one of
our teammates, stand Northfleet, it is no longer with us
at the company.

Speaker 4 (01:14:01):
Very talented, good guy, really good teammate. Unfortunate he'll find
he'll he'll he's really good. And that's the only thing
about corporate America. Sometimes when things go on, you know
that that's that's part of life, the part that if
you haven't been a part of already, who hasn't, right,
But it doesn't make it any better for our guy
he'll we got great line up here and he was

(01:14:22):
a part of a great lineup when we're we're fortunate,
and you know he can lean on us if he
needs anything.

Speaker 1 (01:14:27):
Love stand, Yeah, I love stand utmost professional, really really talented.
He will find fun guy, great guy. Gentlemen, gentlemen, gentlemen,
you know our when we passed off to them, we
all have to we made stand. See gentlemen, gentlemen, he's
the best, So don't stand. Ain't going far guys. You

(01:14:47):
we'll you'll find him.

Speaker 4 (01:14:49):
But great lineup, great team here and uh, he'll be
missed here, but uh, you know where to find.

Speaker 1 (01:14:54):
I mean, you know he's got great opinion and he
loves doing this and uh yeah, great great teammate, great guy,
very intelligent with every everything. When he was on his
show with next up, him and Gordia, I'm gonna miss
listening to him and Gordy yell at each other quite
literally yell at each other. It was it was just
really good radio. Uh, in my opinion. And you know,
if you didn't notice yesterday, the Matt Thomas Show will

(01:15:15):
be after us from ten to two and then Adam
and Adam and Dan Matthews will be from two to six.
So new line up here. Welcome to a four hour show,
the boys. I told Matt and Roths again yesterday. Welcome
to the big leagues boys. Though we don't mind the
fourth hour, but ten am, yeah, try three thirty. No,
there we do. We got it.

Speaker 4 (01:15:36):
Like I said, you had great show behind us. We'll
still have great show behind us. Good lineup.

Speaker 1 (01:15:41):
We're fortunate, but we're gonna give them all the ribbon
we can because come on in early when the man
we're trying to go, let's go big leagues. Yeap, Hey,
thank this ain't triple A. He tried to put up
a shut up. You got to show up and show
out fortune. Good, good teammates, man, We're lucky. A couple
of moves yesterday for the NFL trade deadline, and these
Steelers went out and got Mike Williams from the Jets,

(01:16:02):
so they improved their wide receiver room. That's a question.

Speaker 4 (01:16:05):
It's gonna come up because you know what, Well, how
come they got him and you didn't?

Speaker 1 (01:16:08):
Did you not try? Mike Williams was available. Yeah, and
it cost them a fifth rounder. That's all. That's all costs.
Fifth rounder, Washington Commanders, they got Marshawn Lattimore from the
Saints and they had to give up a third rounder,
a fourth rounder, and a sixth rounder, all in twenty
twenty five. We said yesterday briefly, the Bengals got Khalil

(01:16:32):
Herbert took them seventh rounder, so they upgraded their running
back room. And then the big one for me and
you as well, Shawn as the Lions edge rusher Zadarius
Smith comes over to Detroit from the Browns for a
twenty twenty five fifth rounder and a twenty twenty sixth
sixth rounder. That dude is a good player and he's
gonna help the Lions out tremendously on their defensive line. Okay,

(01:16:55):
let's go to four teams. What's the Steelers record? What
are they seven and two? Yeah? Okay, what did they
go get? What we question about them? We know their
defense good?

Speaker 4 (01:17:05):
Would we say they need I mean that that did
they feel they need they need a wide receiver? And
would they do a fifth rounder? What did Detroit need
with Hutchinson out ed rusher? What did they get an
ed rusher? Baltimore given more. It's not just Derek Henri's
not Lamar Jackson, Mark Andrews.

Speaker 1 (01:17:19):
What did they do? They went out and they've got
Deontay Johnson a wide receiver.

Speaker 4 (01:17:23):
And added added depth and a guy who can play
for you for a very inexpensive price. Kansas City went
and added a Pro Bowl Hall of Fame type guy
at wide receiver who doesn't even I mean he's going
to stumble into six catches a week. Yeah, and what
do you make eight last week? Had eight for eighty
or ninety five ninety yards? Yeah, just the threat alone.
So now you look at that four Pittsburgh leads their division.

Speaker 1 (01:17:46):
Oh, don't even forget about Amari Cooper went to Buffalo.
But there's another team. But you know Buffalo, you wide receiver,
Five teams, five situations, five needs.

Speaker 4 (01:17:56):
Four teams that are all right now would have high
needs in the playoffs, or even Baltimore, who wouldn't win
the division right now. That's Pittsburgh, I believes in first
place right now, are they not?

Speaker 1 (01:18:06):
And Kansas City added an edge rusher as well. That's
exactly because they made two deals.

Speaker 4 (01:18:10):
Yes, so when you start to look at saying, okay,
we're there, January is not good enough. And a team
like Buffalo Baltimore, they they you're right, So they say,
how do we strengthen because what's the what's the measuring
stick or the where you want the line in the sand.
It can't say chiefs, right, And you don't want them
to make it a line in concrete because you don't
want them to continue to have the stronghold on it.
They they've had it for a minute and now going

(01:18:32):
for three in a row. So when you upgrade, you
also five teams that just these five all of them
made their roster better. Yeah, so the question is, and
you're probably gonna know what our callers call in. I'm
sure they stayed up late last night and trying to
get some sleep as well. But when they started to
call the hockey seven seven ninety is, did you'll say, well,

(01:18:55):
why were we and the Mike Williams mixer were they
not interested?

Speaker 2 (01:18:59):
What?

Speaker 4 (01:18:59):
And did you notice for the most part, no big
fella blocking and protecting their quarterback on any good team
moved to move?

Speaker 1 (01:19:05):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (01:19:06):
No, not not so what in the building. It's either
in the building or bust, brother, that's how you're going
to win this thing.

Speaker 1 (01:19:11):
So yesterday Cam Robinson offensive tackle. He was the only
offensive lineman that was moved and Cam Robinson, but he
he is a he went to the look the Vikings
adding depth their offensive line, and that was I was
on that. Didn't that happen last week?

Speaker 4 (01:19:33):
I mean we got the last because I was on
there talking with Minnesota late last week and they're I
mean with a co host, Amberrero, and he said, Sean,
what can you talk about about Cam Robinson? I told
him that, you know, this guy was a high draft
pick and probably underachieved from which he had right what
you thought you'd get from him. But he adds he's
a body with a lot of experience that can help.

(01:19:56):
He's not the Pro Bowl guy. You know, he was
a high draft pick and he's had played a lot
of foota. So that's a good get for them because
you can plug him in and say we got a
guy who gives us some experience there.

Speaker 1 (01:20:05):
So he's the one to move.

Speaker 4 (01:20:07):
And that was last week before the day of the
trade deadline hit, Minisoda got out in front of it
and a lot of those trades you mentioned. People did
the Hopkins, they did the Baltimore Ravens Johnson at wide receiver.
They got out in front of theirs, so they didn't
have to get into a bidding war on Tuesday yesterday.

Speaker 1 (01:20:23):
So five teams, five needs five answers.

Speaker 4 (01:20:26):
The question is are the Texans still one of those
teams even with injuries and even though they didn't upgrade
at either position before the trade deadline, when the injury
to Digs and with the lack of production at times
in past protection too many times, quite frankly.

Speaker 1 (01:20:42):
I thought, and again, we don't know if they were
in on an offensive lineman just to add some depth,
but I just figured, with the state of the offensive
line and the struggles they've had, you'd overpay to get somebody.

Speaker 4 (01:20:52):
Yeah, you asked me yesterday do I think they'd make
a move that will change the way they are even
though at six and three make them better?

Speaker 1 (01:20:59):
And I told I didn't.

Speaker 4 (01:21:00):
It could be a wow factor move if it was anything,
could be a depth move, but uh, what they what
do you have is what what you see is what
you get. We're gonna find out just if they can
start to scheme wise and flat out guts and getting better,
execute better protecting the pastor because you can't keep living
like that, No you cannot, and the pressure on Mixing
to be the guy all the time. At some point,

(01:21:21):
somebody's gonna hold him to fifty yards?

Speaker 1 (01:21:23):
Right then? What? Yeah, then what are you gonna do? Yep?
And it could easily be this weekend against a really, really,
really good Lions team. Let's continue this discussion on the
Houston Texans and the trade deadline that has come and gone.
Are you surprised that didn't make a move. Let us
know how you feeling about it. Seven one three two
one two five seven hinety. We'll get to your calls.
Next is beginning of the seven o'clock hour right here
on Sports Talk seven to eighty.

Speaker 4 (01:21:44):
There's a lot of place they's gonna charge you a
lot more money to do your thing when it comes
to curt of Pro certapro dot com, Cert of Pro Painters,
cirtapro dot com for your free estimate and all the
safety protocols you need.

Speaker 1 (01:21:57):
Each and every cut of Pro business is individually owning up.

Speaker 4 (01:22:00):
Which gives you that boutique feel that you would want
when people knowing who you are, what your tastes are,
help you pick out the paint colors. If you want
to change indoor, outdoor, interior, exterior, business or home. It's
expensive to own a home in a business, isn't it?
So why wouldn't you protect it with the quality painting
of sort of pro painters. It's expensive and so you

(01:22:21):
want it done right, and they do it right. And
I was a customer first, which makes me proud to
be part of a great team that came into my
home and did three or four rooms, did some exterior
stuff for me, and I'm like, now that's the way
it's supposed to be done.

Speaker 1 (01:22:34):
You di I Wires, I love you. But even if
they can go one better and free up your time
to do something else, why wouldn't you. It's sort of
pro painters, sort of with the c surtopro dot com
for your free estimate official painting partner of the Houston Astros.
There is no better sort of pro painters. That's painting Happy.

Speaker 3 (01:22:50):
KD Houston, KTVHD two Houston, an iHeart radio station.

Speaker 1 (01:22:55):
Yes as a Rocket.

Speaker 3 (01:23:00):
Is Sports Talk seven ninety your home for your home team.

Speaker 1 (01:23:08):
Salisbury Oldbury, Salisbury, Houston. Okay, let's do this.

Speaker 3 (01:23:15):
Sewan Salisbury.

Speaker 2 (01:23:19):
To usc Truth, longtime friend, Shawn Salisbury, Ryan.

Speaker 1 (01:23:22):
Lima, go Lobos.

Speaker 3 (01:23:24):
This is the Sean Salisbury Show.

Speaker 1 (01:23:29):
Rockets Spurs tonight at the Toyota Center. Seven pm is
the tip off. Six o'clock is when the launch pad.
We'll start right here on seven out of your home
for a Rockets basketball NFL trade line. Trade deadline has
come and gone. Texans don't make any moves by acquiring anybody.
They traded Khalil Davis over the defensive tackle Khalil Davis

(01:23:51):
over to the San Francisco forty nine ers, but no
additions to the offensive line or wide receiving room. They
take on the Lions this coming Sunday. First college a
playoff poll was released yesterday. Got some interesting teams that
are on that top twenty five. Army coming in at
eight to o, but just at number twenty five. Obviously
Oregon the number one team in the nation. Let's talk

(01:24:15):
Astros baseball. Dana Brown spoke to the media yesterday tripley.
I know you've got a lot of things going on
over there with uh, you know, your duties during the day,
But can we get the one where he talks. He
talks about the good conversations he's had with Scott Boris.
Scott Boris obviously the agent of Alex Bregnan. This is

(01:24:35):
Dana Brown. Good going so Yeah, we've.

Speaker 10 (01:24:38):
Had a lot of a lot of discussions with Scott book,
multiple conversations, so we hope that, uh, and we're hoping well,
you know, we're hoping that.

Speaker 1 (01:24:48):
Yeah, some good things happening. You feel like different decent games.
I think really good change. I think we have a
really good chance, meaning bringing Alex Bregnan back. They've had
some conversation with a lot of conversations with Scott Boris.
You know you asked me the question, Sean, when we
talk about fifty nine percent if Alex Bregman comes back.

(01:25:12):
I think one thing that is interesting about this whole
process over the last couple of months is we haven't
heard a damn thing. We haven't heard anything. No no,
no insider, no beat writer, nobody has said anything about
how many years he wants the money he wants. Nothing
has come out a little different. When George Springer became

(01:25:35):
a free agent, we heard rumors, we heard different amounts
of money. When Corls karele, we heard three hundred million
right off the bat. Right Garrett Cole when he was
getting ready to leave the Astros, we knew he was
going to sign a massive contract, and we knew that
he wanted to go to the Yankees, Alex Brignan. We
haven't heard of him a thing.

Speaker 4 (01:25:51):
So the question begs the It begs the question of
is it wise not to put out there what you want?
Because he put out there and it's not a high
number and the team doesn't match it, aren't you as
a fan base, you're thinking, why'd you let him go?

Speaker 1 (01:26:04):
If it's too low?

Speaker 4 (01:26:06):
Or if he if he puts it out there and
he wants too much, Like, okay, what did when when
Correa left? What did most of the fan base say,
that's way too much? I mean when he wanted thirty million,
three hundred million for ten years, we knew what he wanted.

Speaker 1 (01:26:19):
He didn't get it.

Speaker 4 (01:26:20):
So in the end, it looked in the way pain
you play, it looked as if the Astros won that gig. Right,
So is it a wise negotiating move. I'm big on
not a not negotiating in the media, right. I think
it's a wise move, And I think he's crafting the
right way because then you don't and I'm not saying
he's worried about pissing people off, but this is still
his home base, this is his team. If he leaves

(01:26:42):
then you leave it for out there. Well, regardless, somebody's
going to report how much was offered at some point
right at something, but at least at least you're not.
It's almost when you do that, you put yourself in
because most of the fans can't most of us can't
understand that kind of money, right. And when you do that,
the dude who's making seventy five grand a year or
fifty grand a year or forty grand a year and

(01:27:02):
feeding families and has to go to work every day
can't quite understand how you can turn down twenty five
million a year. So you just kind of let him
think about it, right, And I think it's a I
don't know if brilliant is the right word, but smart
way to go about it.

Speaker 1 (01:27:14):
And in truth, I do believe that they're in play.

Speaker 4 (01:27:20):
This is I mean, Alex Bregman feels like this is
this is his place man, you know what I'm saying,
This is his place to be.

Speaker 1 (01:27:29):
So with that in with that in play.

Speaker 4 (01:27:33):
I don't know about hometown discounts, and if there is one,
what hometown discount to me? For Alex Bregman is taking
taking you know what, a million dollars less than somebody
else offers you a year, and that's but that's fair.
But when it gets to three or four million extra year,
if it got to that for five or six years,

(01:27:54):
you can't expect him to take a hometown discount. Regardless
if we sit back and say, how can you turn
all that money? What's what's one hundred and eighty vers
one hundred and sixty five million and to to that's
a lot of money to anybody. It's a lot of
how much money you make. So I think it's a
wise move. So I asked you the question and seven one, three,
two and two five seven ninety, I asked you the

(01:28:16):
question about fifty one the over under said, at fifty
one the percentage of chances that he's coming back here,
and you took the over.

Speaker 1 (01:28:27):
Yeah, it took the over fifty one over. I feel
like a couple of months ago, excuse me, ye know
what changed. A couple of months ago. I thought there
was no way in hell he was coming back. I
thought for sure that he would depart from here and
go towards Boston, Aarzona Cubs.

Speaker 4 (01:28:47):
San Francisco Giants type of thing. They got money out west, Yeah,
play play it. That way right where you can least
listen to the big boppers. Yeah, I would, I would think,
so it's one of those teams.

Speaker 1 (01:28:57):
And then I think my mindset has shifted over the
last couple of weeks just because one and for whatever reason,
I think the fact that we haven't heard anything, we
haven't heard how much money he wants. I think that's
a good thing. So I think that I think that

(01:29:18):
the Chapman contract also comes into play. I think he's
getting what twenty five and a half million dollars for Chapman.
Good base. The reason why the sole reason why Ox
Bregman hasn't won multiple goal gloves is because of Matt Chapman.
That dude has won multiple gold gloves when him and
Alex Bregman are in the running every single season. Yep.
So I think that helps with keeping the cost down.

(01:29:40):
I also think, and that's for the Astros sake and
y equalizer those of Scott Boris. You know that. Yeah,
But also I think Scott Boris, he's a Josel. Tuve
is a a Scott Boris guy. And remember it's the
player's decision, not the agent. The agent is supposed to advise,
and you make the decision. But Scott had a rougher
off season last season and then so maybe this is

(01:30:01):
a makeup call, is exactly. So that goes to hold
all your guys out, So that goes into play for
me as well. You look at the deals that Scott
Boris made last year. Every single guy had an opt
out after one year, and a lot of his guys
didn't get signed until spring training. Joran Montgomery fired Scott Boris.
Think about that. He fired Scott Boris. So with that
being said, in my mind, Scott Boris has to go

(01:30:24):
to the table with Dana Brown and with the Astros
with legitimate hopes and staying exactly. Let me ask you though,
and I also think you know we we can say that,
you know, Jim Crane, it's not gonna be the be
all end all if jose Al Tuve is continuing to
endorse Pregnant. But I think that plays a big part
in it. Not a big part, I'm sorry, it's it's

(01:30:45):
it plays a significant role in my opinion.

Speaker 4 (01:30:48):
But that can't be the final player. Can't be the
final decision, No, if you're the Astros or Alex Bragman.
But we do we don't hear very much from jose
Al Tuovay, and he's been so adamant. Well, he's he's
watched a couple of his dogs, Yeah to leave and
it's like again, you know, I'm sure that that's part
of it.

Speaker 1 (01:31:06):
And of course a guy who is on the team
and does his thing and speaks.

Speaker 4 (01:31:12):
He doesn't speak often but alloud to but when he does,
I'm sure that Jim Crane listened. But it's not surprising
that he wants bregmant here who doesn't With that, I'll
say this, if Alex Bregman would have had a MVP
offensive season, had a gold gloves, he would not be
here gone.

Speaker 1 (01:31:29):
I hate to say this, but.

Speaker 4 (01:31:32):
The blessing of him having an average season offensive production
where you know, a lot more pop ups than we're
used to seeing, you know, the power was it isn't
you know What's he a twenty two to twenty five
home run guy.

Speaker 1 (01:31:46):
I think he's got more than that. I mean that's
short left field. I mean he can pound that if
he goes.

Speaker 4 (01:31:50):
But you know, hitting two ninety five and driving in
one hundred run being an MVP offensive candidate, if he'd
have been that guy this year, priced out. Yeah, the
only advantage of him having what we would consider and
I'm sure for him as hard as he works, that
he didn't get because he didn't walk as much this year.
All those things that didn't make Alex Bregman who you

(01:32:13):
want to keep and been a staple for this team
at third base is he does everything fairly well some phenomenon,
but he didn't have the normal offensive production you'd expect
from him. Well during the season. It sucked at times
for like the slow start and the rest of it.
At the end of the season. If this scene you

(01:32:33):
didn't win a World Series, all that the blessing is
that may be the very very reason you get to
keep him because had he have played like an MVP offensively,
Alex Dana Brown couldn't sit in that chair rightfully with
their with the way they go about payroll and contracts
and say, because then he'd be getting thirty one to
thirty two million dollars a year and be in that devs,

(01:32:54):
that group of guys Manny Machado, and you'd say, have
at it, man, And he may still who knows it
takes one to love you outside of the one who's
got you. But the season that he didn't have that
we that you wanted. If he'd had the same season
Korea had. In his free agency, Alex Bregman, the chances
of signing him would you wouldn't have taken the over,
You'd have taken the under by thirty percent.

Speaker 1 (01:33:15):
Yeah, you'd have said eighty twenty against right seven one
three two two five seven ninety. Let us know, uh,
fifty one percent or forty nine percent which way you're
leaning uh when it comes to the Astros potentially bringing
Alex Bregman back. Call in, let us know your your
thoughts on that. You lean in fifty one, you lean
in forty nine seven one three two point two five

(01:33:36):
seven ninety. We want to hear you uh and your
thoughts on the free agency with Alex Bregman. That's going
to be next right here on Sports Talk seven ninety.

The Shawn Salisbury Show continues now you.

Speaker 4 (01:35:35):
Know, you know, taking a step aside for health. Hopefully
he's healthy and everything's gonna be okay.

Speaker 1 (01:35:41):
Yeah, he's out indefinitely with some health issues. So they
have an interim head coach for the San Antonio Spurs.
So Victor wabin Yama gonna be back back in town. Overrated, No,
he's not. He's a bum man, tough dork. Whoa yeah
was that that? Yeah?

Speaker 10 (01:36:03):
What be do to you?

Speaker 4 (01:36:04):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:36:04):
He dunked on you. Like Lifetime Fitness or something. They
didn't even have basketball courts a lifetime anymore? What? Yeah, man,
they have a what's it called pick a ball? Well,
my lifetime fitness. They have both separated by a big,
big net, Yeah, big big screen thing, did you guys?
Oh my, hey, but you're up there in the high

(01:36:26):
rent district? Was over here? You know, simply want to
play hoops? No, I'm not there anymore? You quit? Yeah, man,
I got tired of paying that price tag. You have
been dunked on over there, and I'll have I got
a truck payment now because we're you know, we're car
dealership free agents by the way, Hey, not that we're pandering. Yeah, yeah,
we are, you know, Lamborghini dealership for dealers. Actually know
what I yeah, just give me, just give me a

(01:36:49):
la a big truck. You look like a Fiat, but
I can know I could use a Jeep. I'll take
one of those, Yeah, Jeep. I wouldn't mind that little
custom Jeep drive. What let's go in Grand Cherokee. Hey,
if your wagon, you want.

Speaker 4 (01:37:01):
To throw that Grand Wagon here? By way, I'm bid
we cond pine. I will get pine.

Speaker 1 (01:37:05):
Have you ever been dunked on? It the uh last time. Yeah,
you have been dunged on? No dumpty? Yeah, you ever
been dunked on before? No? Okay, I have not. I would.
I would undercut somebody if they tried to dunk on me.
Trying to blow a guy's knee, yeah, before you get
dunk on. Yeah, I mean, at least you admit it.
At least you admit to your play that you're gonna

(01:37:25):
try to be violent with him and hurt somebody. You
know who played it hurt. You don't play to win,
you played it hurt. So we played play to hurt
the opponent. So we played. Uh so, Jimmy Butler was
in our district my junior senior year. Yeah, and I
played basketball in high school as well. Senior year. We're
watching tape on Jimmy Butler. He was a leading scorer
in Houston at the time. He's like he was averaging

(01:37:47):
like over twenty nine points a game. And so Tombull
he went Tomball high school. They always ran this back
like they swing pass across. Yes, they would run that
notoriously and they would just throw it up to Jimmy
and to go get it. And our point guard at
the time Matt Abraham short jacked, just angry human being

(01:38:08):
wrestler's body playing hoops. Yeah, I know. Those guys had
a few on my teams the way, and we weren't good, Like,
we were not very good. Our tallest guy was like
six foot five. Like we we we couldn't Like we
were just outmatched physicality wise, and we had way too
many basic white guys like me on the team. And
so basically our coach, you know, was like, they're gonna

(01:38:28):
run this play, Jimmy's gonna go up for an alley oop.
We're not gonna let that happen. So what did Matt do?
He didn't undercut close, dude. It was at Tomball and
that place was lit up. I guess, Oh my, dude,
he hit the ground. Yeah, I'm sure Jimmy wanted to
open up a can on him. Yeah. Well, I think

(01:38:50):
they ended up beating us by like three point It
was a badass game. We ended up Uh I dropped
nine points, you know, no big deal? Ye, him right
off the bench, guy you exploded for dive? Yeah, who
are you knocked down? Three threes? Man? Big ones too?
I mean Jimmy's twenty nine, My twenty seven what's the

(01:39:11):
big Yeah, no problem, Jimmy six foot in high school.
I didn't grow to him this hid would you say?

Speaker 2 (01:39:21):
Yea?

Speaker 1 (01:39:22):
The tried infecto yeah three oh yeah. And then they
came to they came to our place, dude, and he
lit us up and they beat like twenty five payback
on senior night. Yeah, for real. He was pretty He
was pretty good player. He was just you know, he
was only like six three in high school. Now he's
like what six six? Pretty good player? Yeah, he's all right,
got some game. Yeah he was, he was. He was
really good. Man, doctor Robert, real quick, Robert, what's happening? Hey,

(01:39:45):
what's going on? Guys? Sean? Uh, Brian, how y'all doing awesome? Man?
Good morning, it's a good morning, right.

Speaker 6 (01:39:52):
Good morning, Yes, sir, it is Hey.

Speaker 1 (01:39:54):
I have two things. Uh.

Speaker 6 (01:39:57):
I took the two and a half on.

Speaker 1 (01:39:59):
The on the on the Texans this week this week
against Detroit.

Speaker 6 (01:40:07):
Yeah, I think it's gonna go up though, if Nico
gets ruled out and then uh on Bregman. Has he
even said anything? I mean, it's obvious that you know.

Speaker 1 (01:40:18):
That's the crazy thing. Roberty likes. It's it's quiet, it's
no one said anything.

Speaker 6 (01:40:23):
I know, it's so crazy. I think silence is bad
for us. I mean, uh, it's it's I don't know.
I mean remember when remember when like everybody was on
on on eggs shells with Durant waiting for him to
say something, and then he did that statement on whatever
that website is that he was going to Golden State,

(01:40:44):
and it's just like, my goodness. And then one more
thing real quick, uh, just shout out to Northfleet. I
just wanted to say thanks for the energy and thanks
for the uh you know, the energy.

Speaker 1 (01:40:56):
I guess the energy he brought. I enjoyed the show
and watch from the best.

Speaker 4 (01:41:00):
There you go, well you pass it along and I'm
sure he'll be grateful and a lot of people feel
that way. Robert, good on you man, Thank you appreciate
that and stand in the hell of a job. I
I don't know if silence, I don't know how to
read this. You think silence is a good thing for
the for the I'm not sure. I may lean towards

(01:41:21):
Robert to not saying much. To listen, One thing you
do know is you you know, to me, there's a
floor and a ceiling for this. If you're Alex Bregman.
Here's where I'm not going, and you have to do
it for the floor. First of all has to be
set here for him. He has to say listen, because

(01:41:43):
it starts. It's like a two tiered negotiation. If you
ask me, if they make this offer, I can't go
any lower than this one. And if they if they're
below this offer, they're out, unless, of course it's it's
a fair and honest negotiation where you know you're gonna
you're gonna have a true negotiation. Usually negotiation where both
sides win, not one takes a hammer to the forehead
right the other side is then there's the ceiling of

(01:42:06):
when you get to this point and I'm happy with
everybody I met, whether it's here somebody else. The second
level is then I'm gonna take it. So I don't
know how to read this. I'd love to be able
to say, man, quiet means good for the astros or
quiet means bad form I don't know. I just know
this that when we find out what the first when
we find out somewhere in one of these guys these

(01:42:27):
insize Makeswell is going to dig enough to get exactly
what he wants, meaning what he's asking for and then
you're gonna get a barometer on one of the first
offers at all. He turns that down, Okay, then something
else is said, whether it's from here somebody else. Right, So,
but he does have to set a floor for you know,
he doesn't want to get low ball because there's a
lot of guys watch and also saying, dude, you're part

(01:42:48):
of this fraternity in baseball, don't be the guy who
because you know what, in truth, as much as we
love him for taking less the third baseman of the world,
don't like what Ramirez did because dude, that's a big
hometown discount that he did with Cleveland and then goes
out there and dominates, right, And as much as you
love him, because another guy who negotiated in silence, you
didin't hear much about what And it's like working and

(01:43:11):
said it's okay when it's all done, because not a
lot of people root for you, and more people that
you think are rooting for you sometimes don't. So working
in silence and then closing out that deal and then
you give you know, then you don't have to give
four goodbyes or four on backs. It's just hey, man,
let it happen.

Speaker 1 (01:43:25):
See what happens.

Speaker 4 (01:43:26):
Work as much as you can in silence with all
those good reporters. They're going to be digging and find
out where you are with years and money. Yeah, so
with I'm kind of with you both.

Speaker 1 (01:43:34):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (01:43:35):
I'd take the over on the percentage, but not much
more than fifty one, less than sixty more than fifty
on him being back here. The other side is, though
I have zero idea where the astros are coming in
money wise. Yeah, that's what I don't know. No, honestly,
I don't know their plan. If he turns down like
twenty seven million from the Astros, yeah you know he wanted,

(01:43:56):
did he probably not going to be here if he
turns down that kind of right where, But that's in
the realm. Yeah, and he turns it down, you will
know that he knows that him and Boris have more
going on.

Speaker 1 (01:44:06):
Twenty seven and a half million dollars would make him
the third highest paid third basement at six years.

Speaker 4 (01:44:10):
Yeah, sounds like a pretty good deal to me. But
I'm telling you, I can't give him an opt out here, No,
I just can't. No no opt outs, because if he's here,
I want him here, right. I don't want you to
go and have an MVP year then all of a
sudden Bolton year two because we gave you an opto.

Speaker 1 (01:44:21):
Even year one. Yeah, not doing that, Yeah, no, no,
opt out doing it. Dana Brown spoke about the potential
of having to replace Alex Briggan. Let's talk about that next.

what I wanted.

Speaker 1 (01:46:21):
I know when I ordered checked the supposed it's supposed
to be sausage, egg and cheese.

Speaker 4 (01:46:26):
Yes, adapt and adjust. I do it once a year.
Today is a good day to eat breakfast.

Speaker 2 (01:46:30):
It is.

Speaker 4 (01:46:32):
But it's like a health bart But I'm right full green. Yeah,
but you know what, it's okay once a year. You
get a nap today too. No, I don't play that
did I'm going It's gonna be a beautiful day. I
got to do a few things business. Well, I'm gonna
go beat balls. That didn't sound right? God, what's what
I but that's what I call haws. That's what I
call hitting golf balls on the range.

Speaker 1 (01:46:49):
I always do.

Speaker 4 (01:46:50):
You've heard me say before, Well, I am gonna go
beat ball. Maybe I spit on my on my titleist.

Speaker 1 (01:46:58):
Man he checked the south today? Right either? No? What
but today we've heard from Sean Hawk two on it. Bruh.

Speaker 4 (01:47:05):
We've heard one eyed. But you guys took you now
he wanted to balls. You guys took Hawk to to
a level I wasn't even thinking about.

Speaker 1 (01:47:14):
Okay, I do you think about it? Well pre hawk
to a girl. You just thought about it, you know.
But we're in breakfast today's day and age hawk is
a thing and you're is different than hawk. Tu Yeah,
good point by you. She says, quote hawk ta right

(01:47:35):
and spit on that thing. Well, I didn't say that.
I didn't say anything about that.

Speaker 4 (01:47:38):
I was just talking about because I had to clear
my throat and I did it off the mic and
say said I don't think the hawk too for you guys.
You guys took it is. Oh, and now I said,
I go beat balls. But you know what I mean
by that because I've said it a million times. That's
what I talk about on the range, just beat just
hitting wedge after wedge, smacking balls around, yeah right, taking
divots after the golf shot, not before, right. So I'm

(01:48:01):
just trying to really dial in at the flagstick.

Speaker 1 (01:48:03):
Well, I hope you beat balls today. I will. It's
going to be a beautiful day. Your nap and bitch
is overrated, then yeah, I'm gonna have to nap. There's
a shock three hours when don't you I get plenty
of when don't you nap nap? I didn't app yesterday. No,
actually I did nap just kid. Yeah. See it's a
pretty it's like breakfast for you. It's a nap. Oh

(01:48:26):
I didn't either. No, no Monday naps, No nap here.
Today's no nap Wednesday. No, it's a nap. Wint is it? Yeah?
I got like two hours of sleep, three hours of
sleep yep. So I'm gonna go. There's a lot of
hockeys and business. I'm gonna throw it at the flagstick
some business there.

Speaker 7 (01:48:39):
You go.

Speaker 1 (01:48:39):
Well, you're you know, you stand on business, staying on business.
There's no doubt you got tos. Dude, You're not You're
not even concerned about the Texans, And I don't get it.
I don't get while you're not concerned about it, I
am concerned about it. You said they're winning the super Bowl.
You guaranteed it. No, I did not. That was tripley. Oh,
that was tripley. Yeah. That's why he had and winning
like eighteen games. I had little going eighteen and oh
yeah yeah gaming. Then they only play seventeen games. That's cool. Yeah.

(01:49:02):
Dana Brown spoke about replacing Alex Bregman can't you hear.

Speaker 10 (01:49:06):
That mindset right now is that he's not going elsewhere
and that we want to sign up. So if he
ends up going elsewhere, across that bridge when you get there.
But I'm going into this offseason with the thought process
that we're going to get pregnant don hopefully you know.

Speaker 1 (01:49:24):
We can enjoy.

Speaker 10 (01:49:26):
And as I said, you know the conversations which Scott.

Speaker 1 (01:49:29):
Have been for doctor there you go, productive conversations. They
want to bring him back, and his mindset is he's
not going anywhere.

Speaker 4 (01:49:37):
Okay, let me ask you this is this comment by
Dana surprising, So no, I mean this is not new news.
Of course, you've heard him on here every single Wednesday
and his praise and admiration for Alex Bregman's game.

Speaker 1 (01:49:52):
Yeah, when he was asked, when he was asked on
this show when they were trying to get through the struggles,
what's the most important person? Who is the most important
person or the most important thing it's got to happen
for in your mind?

Speaker 4 (01:50:10):
Dand Brown to turn this around, and his answer was
Alex Bregman. He had a lot of guys to choose from.
He thinks Alex Bregman is the glue for the most part,
in clubhouse, in clubhouse, on the field, how hard he works.
This is not a This is not a shock.

Speaker 1 (01:50:29):
And if he came in and said, well, we're not
sure we're gonna be able to keep him, probably not
what we want to hear right now. So this is
this is not a shock. What the end what the
end all is going to be is what are those
what's that C note look like? Yeah? How many zeros
are on?

Speaker 5 (01:50:42):
It?

Speaker 1 (01:50:42):
All going to come down to the green Backs exactly right.
So I'm interested to see the years, the number and
just do you have something something reported? Just give us
a report to me.

Speaker 4 (01:50:55):
Less than six, less than thirty here, I can't say,
I don't I have zero idea if the Cubs or
the Red Sox are willing to pay him more.

Speaker 1 (01:51:03):
I don't know. I'm not going over twenty seven.

Speaker 4 (01:51:05):
Okay, well there's twenty seven six. I don't think you.
I don't think he takes less than six years to you, No,
I think it's six years. Yeah, that's a sweet spot,
and I don't think many teams offer more than that.
But I do believe that there'll be more money on
the table for him than twenty six or twenty seven
million somewhere, whether it's here or somewhere else, or maybe hell,
you know what you really want to know? What hikes
of price up getting four teams that want you.

Speaker 1 (01:51:26):
I wonder if could we be far off? Could teams
has offered less like around twenty five?

Speaker 4 (01:51:33):
Well, I think if you came in and offered twenty
five one hundred and fifty for six years, I think
Alex Pregman would say no. Yeah, but I don't have
any idea. I don't you know, I'm not in many
people's wallet when it comes to that. But right it
feels low. Maybe I'm wrong. Yeah, one hundred and fifty

(01:51:54):
for six seems easier to turn down, just does Yeah,
I would think. So, remember what I said the first
thing I said about this, I said, whatever you do,
make your first offer.

Speaker 1 (01:52:07):
The competitive, Yes, yeah, making competitive.

Speaker 4 (01:52:10):
Don't have him walk away say after all this that's
what you offered me. Don't do that because it immediately
and talking to players and being a part of it,
you almost feel not saying he will, but there's a
feeling of.

Speaker 1 (01:52:22):
They don't love me or this is disrespectful.

Speaker 4 (01:52:24):
Yeah, and you say, well, how can twenty five million
I'm talking about sports terms, right, So when you make
the first offer, that's damn. When you have the damn
call that the player is saying, I didn't realize they
were going to go their first meeting high not low,
because the damn in the negative way means you're already
in a chase mode as the organization wants to keep him.
Damn in a good way means I didn't expect him

(01:52:46):
to be that competitive on their first offer, right, And
so you have a tendency to want to pay a
little bit more attention.

Speaker 1 (01:52:51):
I think with what we've seen from some of these
guys that have have left, the first offer out of
the gate is usually never competitive and h well, it just.

Speaker 4 (01:53:01):
Leaves you with a oh okay, so it's easy for
them to say that, well, it's gonna be easy for
me to leave.

Speaker 1 (01:53:05):
Yeah. Yeah. And also we saw what happened in arbitration
with Kyle Tucker a couple of years ago that obviously
rocked the boat a little bit. But Dana Brown, obviously
a new general manager, trying to uh lock up Alex Pregman.
Uh So we'll have to see, excuse me, we'll have
to see kind of how that all plays out. You know,
it's still early in the offseason. See if we can
get a report out or something, you know, maybe maybe

(01:53:27):
some kind of numbers or years of the one of
these good baseball insiders will get you a number, Yeah,
I would think.

Speaker 2 (01:53:32):
So.

Speaker 1 (01:53:32):
Let's also talk about the first base position for the
Houston Astros. They have got to make a move. There's
a player out there that's been reportedly one of the
top what is it not destinations but top I want
to say prospects. How do you top wants for the Astros.
Let's talk about a next on Sports Talk seven to eighty.

Speaker 5 (01:53:54):
Wear a mask, wear gloves, wear leather and chains. Reminds
me of that time I accidentally walked into an S
and M convention.

Speaker 1 (01:54:04):
Hey nice, my back still hurts.

Speaker 3 (01:54:07):
Would be good?

Speaker 5 (01:54:08):
Oh, speaking of back pain, back to former QB Sean
Salisbury on Sports Talk seven ninety get medieval on him, shun.

Speaker 1 (01:54:18):
I'll also get back to the Houston Texans not making him.
With the trade deadline coming up at nine thirty, so
you're not gonna want to miss that final hour of
the nine of our show, the nine o'clock hour, talk
a lot of football, all right? Looks like there's a
potential want for the Houston Astros at the first base position,
Christian Walker? Is it? John Hayman reporting it? I thought

(01:54:41):
that's who I saw reported it. Christian Walker could be
a potential fit for the Houston What I say, he's
like a sixty million dollar guy? Is that about the right?
What his contract is? Is that what I saw? Yeah,
he gives you. He's not the.

Speaker 4 (01:55:01):
Obviously the draw guy like Pete Alonzo would be, but
he's also not the money makes sense.

Speaker 1 (01:55:07):
Let's see, so Christian Walker well in this lineup, yeah
he would. He won the twenty twenty four Gold Glove
yep for first base. I haven't had that kind of
defender since Juliski also, yeah, we haven't. Kerry Miller of
Bleacher Report also reporting and saying that the ideal landing

(01:55:27):
spot for Christian Walker would be the Houston Astros.

Speaker 4 (01:55:31):
I'll take it that answers that question if he If
he is here, right price, great glove at first base,
pop in the bat. You want a guy who will
fit here because he's protected in the hell of a lineup? Yeah,
why not.

Speaker 1 (01:55:44):
You in on him or not? Let's see, I am
I'd be in on him. Thirty three years old, a
little you know, a little bit older. Do you call
it long in the tooth a little bit? But you know,
but you would you got you got three or four
good ones in you, don't you good three in you?
Oh yeah, two to three years thirty three? Yeah, yeah,
that that's how long the window is going to be open.
John Hayman actually reported back in July that Houston considered

(01:56:05):
the thirty three year old a dream target. So it
looks like there's where there's smoke, there's fire if you will, well,
I got an idea. Let's get it done quickly. If
that's the case, you feel me, dog and answer that one. Another.
Another reporter for Bleacher Reports said, with money seemingly out
of pre premium right now, Walker would be a much

(01:56:27):
better fit for the club's payroll situation than Pete Alonzo.
There you go that that it fits better obviously in
that pay scale. And you sure is that? Don't Walker?
You don't want to what? You don't want Walker to
be a Texas Ranger? And he was coming.

Speaker 4 (01:56:45):
I knew it, Yeah, you know, I mean you do
not want Walker to be a Texas Ranger? Yeah, I mean, yeah,
I know, you feel me so is. But why didn't
you come up with it then?

Speaker 1 (01:56:55):
Because I left that to you. Oh you just teed
it up. Yeah, there you go.

Speaker 4 (01:56:59):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:56:59):
This year Christian Walker had eighty four RBIs. He had
two fifty one ops of over eight hundred. Uh. He
hit twenty six bombs. Last year he had thirty three.
The year prior to that, he had thirty six ops
of over eight hundred. Every single season, won the Gold
Glove three times last three years, three years in a row,
dominant first basement with the glove.

Speaker 5 (01:57:21):
You.

Speaker 1 (01:57:23):
Oh do you think he? Uh has a sister named
Christian Christian Walker? Oh, sister Christian, Oh dude, I'm delirious
right now. I really have you know the cut, right,
sister Christian singer for me? Oh, your time has come.

Speaker 4 (01:57:45):
No, we got to have him the sea walk Yeah right,
he'll have a nickname in five minutes, right.

Speaker 1 (01:57:50):
Yeah, what will it be? Walker? Christian Walker, Kristan Walker
steps into the plate what they call sea walk Walkie.

Speaker 4 (01:58:00):
Well, if he went to Georgia, it'd be simple walker
my dog, but talker, my talk.

Speaker 2 (01:58:07):
But he did.

Speaker 4 (01:58:07):
I don't know where he went to school, so I
don't know what we would do with the nickname probably Chris.
You know, Christian doesn't like to be called Chris, doesn't
do I mean, you don't call it Christian Chris.

Speaker 3 (01:58:15):
Do you know?

Speaker 1 (01:58:17):
No, there's really no room for a nickname for him.

Speaker 2 (01:58:21):
Walk.

Speaker 1 (01:58:21):
You can't do too much work. Christian Walker would what
would it be? It's not Walk, It's not you know
what do you what do you call? Uh? What did
we call Breggy? Bamb Breggy?

Speaker 3 (01:58:37):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (01:58:37):
JP three King Tuck?

Speaker 4 (01:58:40):
How about we just don't name how about we just
don't have a nickname for him and just let him
be Christian Walker, big Walk. How about well, well we
need to run to Christian Walker. I want I'm on fire, dude, dead,
no sleep last night. A lot of hockey on last
night I had there was a lot of hockey hockey.

Speaker 1 (01:59:02):
No, we don't. He didn't need anything. Just come on,
it'll be a spiritual experience if we get Christian. You
gotta admit that was pretty good. You get spiritual. Pray,
I pray, I pray we get Christian you guys, you guys,

(01:59:24):
that's him. Man, here we go, that's him. We got
to run, not walk, to go get Christian. We really
did any more before we get to the night I.

Speaker 4 (01:59:33):
Got him, all I came. I can't think of him anymore.
So I'm sure something will happen. Okay, it'll happen. It'll happen.
I'll tell you what, though, you gotta give me some credit.
That's just I mean, boom, boom boom. That's George Carlin,
like you know what I'm saying. Yeah, well maybe no,
let's not go overboard. I probably wouldn't go that. There
you go, close though, close, man.

Speaker 1 (01:59:52):
There you go. You didn't contribute. No, no, you didn't
freaking contribute. I just let you roll with it. Man,
bringing the segment down. I'm trying to get you. You
can't come up with a nickname. You couldn'tven come up
with a nickname. That's thee Walk. Oh man, Astro is big.
You get him hawk who goes first to ride field.

(02:00:16):
That's going to be a home run. That's the perfect
that's a Union the train number twenty seven has left
Union states.

Speaker 4 (02:00:23):
Can't you use the other phrase? Can't use home run? Christian.
That's got to be a spiritual experience. You can't tie
that in for your home run? Click now, give me
one right now, go for it, Christian Walker.

Speaker 1 (02:00:34):
Christian Walker is going to step up to the plate,
deep fly ball to ride field. He's going apoh opo
taco for Christian Walker. That's a spiritual experience. Yeah, that
fits in perfect. There you go, man like it. It's
pretty good. And only only TK who's got that great voice,
because you possibly pull it off right, Yeah, man like it.
Imitation is a sincere form of flattery. Is do you

(02:00:57):
just come up with that? That's what I heard was
the way to put your time, man, damn right, come
up with it. That's a great job by you. Thank you, appreciate.
He's a good day, man, It is a good day.
Texans didn't do much. So are they good enough to
make this run? I don't know. Are they six and three?
You tell me?

Speaker 4 (02:01:12):
Well, I can tell you right now six and three
with the way they perform on the offensive line, The
answer is no. Six and three with the players they have,
if they fixed that, the answers absolutely, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:01:21):
We got to talk about it. We will. Texans didn't
make any moves, so we'll talk about that at nine o'clock. Also,
college football playoff ranks that'll come up at nine thirty.
I had a mixed up when I teased it. Earlier.
Let's talk Texans next on Sports Talk seven to eighty a.

Speaker 3 (02:01:35):

Salisbury, Oby Hoon.

Speaker 1 (02:02:13):
Okay, let's do this.

Speaker 2 (02:02:15):
Sean Salisbury, the USC Truths, longtime friend, Shawn Salisbury.

Speaker 3 (02:02:21):
Ryan Lima, Go Lobos. This is the Sewan Salisbury Show.

Speaker 1 (02:02:28):
No moves for the Texans outside of trading Khalil Davis,
one of the defensive tackles over to the San Francisco
forty Niners. They did not add anybody. Bless you, bless you,
excuse me, thank you. College Football Playoff releases their first
playoff poll of top twelve teams. We'll go through it

(02:02:51):
at nine thirty. Got to talk about the Texans, the
way that the roster's constructed. Now, Nico Collins, I'm assuming
is going to be this weekend. No Stefan Diggs, He's
out for the season. You have a good defense, your
offensive offensive line does a good job when it comes
to run blocking, but past blocking it is atrocious.

Speaker 2 (02:03:12):
C J.

Speaker 1 (02:03:12):
Strout has not had uh probably obviously it's only a
second season, a little more inconsistent than what we're used to.
Off schedule at times or excuse me, timing's messed up
because of being pressured so much. This is not a
throws or slump's no, he's remember we said at the
beginning of the year that he may go through times

(02:03:33):
when the numbers, if they don't look the same, doesn't
mean he's not playing good football. He can listen. Last
week was one of those you're saying, he doesn't normally
miss those throws and that doesn't happen very often.

Speaker 4 (02:03:42):
But what quarterback hasn't gone through that, right, It's like
we expect him to be perfect every frigg in week
that he's not allowed to make throws. He miss throws that. Now,
if he did that four weeks in a row, we'd
start to say, what the hell's going on here? Because
he missthrows from clean stuff last week at times, which
is not like him. But what happens is that built
in time clock starts to be built in a little quicker,

(02:04:05):
even though it's not so you start to at times,
like I've said before, borrow trouble and that it's a
cumulative effect of okay, are we blocking this one? Oh,
we didn't block the last one, so I can only
assume I'm not going to.

Speaker 1 (02:04:17):
Have the time here.

Speaker 4 (02:04:19):
And it's just unfortunately what happens when you're not used
to those things happening right then they got to adjust.
He'll be fine, Cee, just judge one hell of a player.
But what happens if you keep doing this that the
cumulative effect also becomes a habit and it affects everybody
they have, just whether it's the quarterback getting them in

(02:04:40):
the right protection, whether it's the coordinator putting them in
better situations to get the ball out quicker, whether it's
the offensive line, which has got to be number one
is bowing your neck a little bit and saying enough's enough.
We've had it and taken some pride in you know,
we're running the ball physically, which is tough to do,
but we have got to be better technique why and

(02:05:00):
a little nastier in pass protection because I assure you
this as talented as they are. I don't care if
four Nico Collins come back. If you ain't, if you
don't have the time to deliver the ball, it won't matter.
Because if that was the case, then why why isn't
Jamar Chase's team the Bengals? And why isn't the why
why isn't the UH San Francisco forty nine and they

(02:05:21):
got all their weapons? And why isn't the Minnesota Vikings
with Jefferson win in super Bowl after super Bowl after
super Bowl?

Speaker 1 (02:05:27):
And Jefferson pretty good? Yeah, if you.

Speaker 4 (02:05:29):
Could throw it to him ten times a game, that's great.
But if you're sitting on your ass to fifteen other times,
it won't matter. So the point is, and they're all
good teams. My point is that it all starts with
two things. What did Demiko Ryan say about his front
so we got to get more physical? Yes, when he
came here. And what have they done well? Uh tackles

(02:05:50):
for loss and pressures they're right near the top of
the league.

Speaker 1 (02:05:54):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (02:05:54):
And then the other side is if you're not. If
you're it doesn't matter. Name me a super Bowl team
where the quarterback doesn't play upright. You won't find one.
You will not find one that wins a championship. And
there now in that game they be him knocked around
and lost to somebody else. What kept the Cincinnati Bengals
from winning the Super Bowl?

Speaker 1 (02:06:11):
Offensive line? They got their ass kicked and they were
still in it.

Speaker 4 (02:06:15):
And at that point in time in that year going, well,
it was Joe Burrow playing as well as anybody on
the planet. Yeah, sure he was, and they had all
three of those wide receivers and Joe Mixon in the backfield.
All the things walk away from it. Well Whitworth wasn't
there anyone?

Speaker 2 (02:06:32):
Right?

Speaker 1 (02:06:32):
Was Andrew Whitworth? Who was there before? He was a ram? Correct?
So you you didn't have that.

Speaker 4 (02:06:36):
And what happened what inevitably cost him in Aaron Donald,
the rest down it what inevitably cost him a Super Bowl.
The physicality on the interior, it exists here. Now, what
are you gonna do?

Speaker 1 (02:06:50):
What are you going to do?

Speaker 4 (02:06:51):
And the truth is it really comes down to this.
I'm convinced that offensive line play, while technique is so
important and knowing who you're supposed to block, but I'm
also convinced that every now and then, every now and again,
you can actually manhandle a guy on the offensive line.
If your attitude's nastier than his, regardless if he's a
good player, they.

Speaker 1 (02:07:09):
Need that's what they need. They need the nastiness on
the offensive line. I need a guy have that right now.
I'd like a group that goes over the side. And
like I said, I'm not on sidelines. I don't know,
but if I was, you said, Sean, you're you're the
head coach of a team. You're highing an offensive line coach,
and you're putting together an offensive line.

Speaker 4 (02:07:25):
What is your number one priority? Of course, they have
to have talent. I'm assuming that's at every position right right,
Then when they come over the line of scrimming, when
they come over the sidelines, or when they practice, my
coach has to back them off. My offensive line coach
has to say, hey, quit getting kicked out of practice
because you're so nasty.

Speaker 1 (02:07:42):
You know what I mean, Dude, I've been on teams
like that.

Speaker 4 (02:07:44):
Yeah, I can guarantee you Richie and Cognito got kicked
out of practice plenty of times in his career. It's
Kevin Gogan and Steve Wisnowski And I mean I watched
fights happen on our practice field with our offensive line
of defense, like because Johnny Randall was the same on
defense Krystal as as Zimmerman and Loudermilkar two. They protected
their on or even on the practiceville without trying to
hurt somebody, right, I want when they come over there,

(02:08:06):
I got to say, dude, I'd much rather have to
back a player off then teach him to be more
intense and play in controlled anger on the field.

Speaker 1 (02:08:18):
In pass protection. It really literally comes down to it, Dude,
are you tired of getting your ass kicked? I can't
coach you up anymore. You did the right technique and
then the guy walked you back into CJ's lap. That's
got to get fixed. Yeah, that's physicality, and that's attitude. Yeah.
And like I've said before, Parcels, when I'm down at
the goal line and they got nine and I got seven,
and Joe Mixon's bringing his own blocker and that's himself,

(02:08:41):
it doesn't matter if they have an extra guy. You
just got to guess what, buddy, that's called a full
blown fistfight, and you've got to be a little bit
more physical. And I know that sounds so simplistic, but
when it gets right, down to it. Isn't it a
series of one on one matchups in sports? Yes, that
happened to be on in a team game.

Speaker 4 (02:09:00):
If four guys are getting their ass whipped in a
one on one matchup, guess what happens in that sport.
I don't have much shot, So that's why you're not
seeing it at times. And and Bobby Smoke's gonna be
responsible for putting them in keeping the other team on
skates pass rush, right, It just is.

Speaker 1 (02:09:19):
That's part, that's part of his approach to this. It
has to be. And he's gonna have to make some
adjustments there, there is no question about it. He's going
to have to make some adjustments against a really, really
talented physical One of the best teams in the NFL
right now is the Detroit Lions and they come to
town Sunday evening. All right, c J. Stroud, there's a narrative,
a little bit of a narrative out there that he
might be in a sophomore slump. Let's the spell that narrative.

(02:09:43):
I got some statistics to back it up, and we'll
have Sean Way and that's next on Sports Talk seven ninety.

Speaker 3 (02:09:50):
Oh oh, have we played at fort Blum A Hey,
it's Jeff Blum.

Speaker 1 (02:09:54):
You've got more Sean Salisbury to.

Speaker 7 (02:09:56):
Pick up where you left off Doll Dolphins.

Speaker 1 (02:09:58):
On Sports Talk seven to ninety Home of Your Stros.

Speaker 2 (02:10:05):
C J.

Speaker 1 (02:10:05):
Stroud has been sacked thirty times this season. That's the
second most in the NFL, only behind Deshaun Watson when
he was healthy for the Browns. He's on pace.

Speaker 2 (02:10:17):
C J.

Speaker 1 (02:10:18):
Stroud is to be sacked fifty six points six one
times for this season. Despite that, he's on pace for
over four thousand yards passing and twenty three touchdown passes.
Now I'm not I'm a simple caveman like you like

(02:10:41):
to say Sean, but I would probably say if he
had proper blocking when it comes to pass protection, those
numbers would go up. Just doesn't take a mathematician to
understand that. So this whole narrative about sophomore slope, I
see it every Sunday or Monday, whenever they play. I
see it all the time. He misses one throw and

(02:11:02):
the haters come out, oh, sophomore slump. He's overrated. Stop it,
he's overrated, because that's the easy way to do it.

Speaker 4 (02:11:10):
That's the easy way without diving deep but why they're
struggling crazy, or why what the cumulative effect is of
hits and pass protection and pressures are so lazy? Yeah,
it's a it's a lazy there, of course it is.
Now if he is leading the league in interceptions and
playing football, it gave us no chance to win here.
Then the first thing you say is the things are

(02:11:33):
different this year. He hasn't adjusted to his sophomore year,
and they've adjusted to him different. I've seen he had
a game where he missed a few throws right, and
so is all of a sudden TUNSI when he jumps
off sides ten times? Is he having a eight year slump?
He's in his eighth year slump. You forgot how to play. No,
it's just not having a good year when it comes
to balance at the line of scrimmage and patience. So

(02:11:56):
it's are we I mean, stop it. Sophomore slump is
when you're playing like ass all the time.

Speaker 1 (02:12:04):
CJ.

Speaker 4 (02:12:04):
Stroud had what most quarterbacks have that are really good
an average game or a below average game. It's probably
the more throws I've seen him miss on opportunities that
he We're so used to him hitting every one of
those mid intermediate long throws.

Speaker 1 (02:12:21):
Then when he misses one, we're shocked. He misses four
of them. You're like, what's wrong. I'll tell you what's wrong.

Speaker 4 (02:12:28):
The acheuative effect of hits, but also of pressures and
not setting your feet. You just speed up your time clock.
And what have I always said about hurried doesn't work?
But if you want to know what I'm not worried
about is CJ. Stroud being able to deliver when things
are right. So I look at even when they're not.

Speaker 1 (02:12:46):
I look at his numbers right now, played in nine games,
he's got a completion percentage of sixty three and a half.
He ended last season with a completion percentage of sixty
three point nine. Last year, through for fourth and eight yards,
he had an average of eight point two per row.
This season, he's already thrown for two, one and thirty nine.

(02:13:06):
He's got an average of just over seven. He's got
eleven touchdowns four interceptions. Last year he completed the or
he finished the season with twenty three touchdowns five interceptions.
Last year in an entire season or the games that
he played, he played fifteen because he missed two games
to that concussion. In fifteen games, he was sacked thirty
eight times. He's played nine games so far and he's

(02:13:28):
been sacked thirty times. Think about that thirty eight sacks
last year in fifteen games. He's been sacked thirty times
already in nine games. And his completion predecedentage is basically
the same.

Speaker 4 (02:13:44):
So is it his slump or somebody else's that's where
he got? Is it a protection thing, play calling thing?

Speaker 2 (02:13:49):
Him?

Speaker 4 (02:13:49):
Put it this way, the offense is not playing their
best football for the most other than the dude in
the backfield anywhere.

Speaker 1 (02:13:55):
And also Bobby Slowick's offensive play calling is not good,
not good. I should say that's that's a fair statement.
Not as good. That's a fair statement. They got they
got to figure it out, man.

Speaker 4 (02:14:08):
I'll tell you after I was just reading that because
you were talking about with the stock market. I didn't
mean to digress, but I cheated. We were talking and
I said, uh, elon must about the stock market. How
you know after an election always one way or the other, right,
And we said, you said, Sean, what's he gonna make?
I said he can make it because he can make
about five billion today.

Speaker 1 (02:14:28):
Yeah. So I was listening to on my drive in
I was listening to Jimmy and cherre Over on our
sister station, seven News Radio seven forty KRH, and they
talked about the stock market the projections for today and
it was going to rise. And one of the things
was like Tesla's stock was going to go up like
fifteen percent.

Speaker 4 (02:14:43):
Well, I said five billion today. Do you know how
much he's made today? I mean I see the graphic,
twelve billion dollars.

Speaker 3 (02:14:53):
Good.

Speaker 1 (02:14:53):
Hey, and it's with the b Yes. Okay, so there
you go.

Speaker 4 (02:14:56):
But we digest. Well, we're talking about money. He mean,
I get twelve million, but there'll be a lot. But
back to the football thing. Is Bobby Slowick. I don't
call it a sophomore something. I call it he needs
to adjust a little more because I don't think going
into the season he thought protection was going to be
this issue.

Speaker 1 (02:15:13):
I don't think anybody did. No. They they've had more
continuity on the offensive line than ever.

Speaker 4 (02:15:18):
If they thought it was going to be a big
problem the off season with Nick Casariel would have been different.
Offensive line play they thought healthy because last year they
were playing you know, card shuffle.

Speaker 1 (02:15:28):
All over the places. Over thirty different combinations in the
offensive line, and it.

Speaker 4 (02:15:32):
Felt like every time he had a different combination, that
guy was trying to work and save his job or
be the guy. So there was a little different approach
to it, almost a survival approach, right, And maybe they
need to get back to that. But I don't think
anybody anticipated. You always anticipate we're gonna have to make
adjustments at every position in a game. You don't anticipate
that nine games in you're still real and protection wise,

(02:15:53):
that can't happen. No, it's gonna have to get fixed.

Speaker 1 (02:15:55):
Yeah, it's it's it's a problem, and these show it
when you look at sacks alone. Thirty eight last year
in fifteen games, thirty sacks this year in just nine games.
You know, as we we're gonna turn to college football
next segment, but and then of course tomorrow we'll talk
more about the matchup and we'll start getting into the

(02:16:16):
real x's and o's of the game against the Lions.
Play calling for Bobby Slowick, early prediction, What do you think,
what adjustments do you think he's actually gonna make?

Speaker 4 (02:16:28):
Well, I would start first off with coming out, and
I don't care how you start running. It's not the
running or throwing That concerns me. It's the timing of
it and when you do it. I think you have
to get early quick completions where the ball's out where
those guys start, even if it's not protection reasons, because
in the quick game, the ball should come out anyway,
and then you hit five or six in a row

(02:16:49):
and nobody's on the ground. Psychologically, if you're the right guard,
you're saying, you know what, we've got this thing handled.
And even if you miss a block in the quick game,
the ball is still coming out, so you still got
a chance. I think Bobby slow hashould do a better
job of this year of mixing and matching situations where
protections are more advantageous to his team than the other team.

Speaker 1 (02:17:12):
He knows this. Yeah he's not dumb, right, So but
you have to.

Speaker 4 (02:17:18):
As I always go in, I don't always go in
saying I know for the best and hope the worst
doesn't happen. I've always gone in in preparation saying, what
if this happens, meaning the negative stuff, how would we
combat that? Then the rest is gravy if it works
for you. So I think that play calling and situational football,
situational play calling right now, wouldn't you go in, what's
the conflict protecting my quarterback?

Speaker 1 (02:17:39):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (02:17:39):
So if you know the conflict, what do you do?
You either max protection, the ball comes up, there you go.
The answers are much easier when you know what the
problem is. And if you're not put it this way,
let's go the worst thing that happening or the worst
thing could happen. Let's say the protection just gets where
they suck. So if you're the offense, let's just say
that's the case. Listen using the words suck for an
office of line a little over. They're just not playing

(02:18:01):
great football. They're not protecting as well as they did
last year. It's as simple the analytics are then. But
with that, so if you know, going in all the time,
if you know you look horrible in a blue blue
shirt and your girl tells you that, or you're whoever
your PR person tells you that, and that every time
you wear it makes you look fat, Okay. If that's

(02:18:22):
the case with a pH.

Speaker 1 (02:18:26):
No, okay.

Speaker 4 (02:18:26):
So if you go into once you find the conflict,
that the answer is usually pretty easy. If it's not
the first one, that can find the second one, right,
find two different color shirts to wear. So in this
you know the conflict. The biggest conflict on the team
is protecting our passer and getting the ball out. So
if they can't protect it in a five man in
a three step or five step hitch, long route, drop,
what do you do as the guy who is the architect?

Speaker 1 (02:18:49):
Change the plan?

Speaker 4 (02:18:50):
Right, get on your computer, change the three D architecture
or your golf course of elevation and let's change that.

Speaker 1 (02:18:56):
And then once that starts to hit, what do they do?

Speaker 4 (02:18:58):
On defense? They change their approach, So what do you do?
You try to adjust your approach and then boom, you
combat them with the other thing. Just like anything, you're
looking for their weakness and hoping they don't find the
conflict in the answers early.

Speaker 1 (02:19:11):
And you know the going in.

Speaker 4 (02:19:12):
It doesn't take a genius that's watched football to know
what the issues they're gonna face this weekend, and when
they face it that they faced every weekend. It's can
we And that's a cumulative thing with a bunch of
different people. The ain't just the right guard or the
left guard and can It's not just that guy, and
it's not just laying me Tunshel jumping out sides. It's
you can't have three guys doing it right and two

(02:19:33):
not every other play because on the run game right now,
you're not. They're as good as anybody, and mix is
jopped out as anybody running it right now. So it's
gonna have to change if they want to get where
they're going. If they just want to be this and get.

Speaker 1 (02:19:48):
To the playoffs, great, but I don't think that's the
goal with the guy that leads like dmko ryans do.
I don't think it's the goal at all. Let's look
at the college football playoff rankings. The first one was
released last night. Let's go through them next. On Sports
Talk seven ninety, The Shawn Salisbury Show continued, Lady Wilson, Dude,

(02:20:12):
I watched a video of her yesterday where this girl,
this little girl probably eight years old, nine years old,
held a sign. She was sitting in front row at
Laney Wilson's concert and it so don't tell me something's
gonna make me dislike her. No, no, no, no, it's good.
And the sign says, Laney, if you pull me up
on stage. My dad promised me a new horse trailer.

(02:20:35):
So Laney of course pulls her up and she's like, dude,
it was like her country.

Speaker 4 (02:20:41):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (02:20:41):
She was like, oh my god, you're gonna be my
new best friend. What's wrong with that? Dude? Come on?
She's like, oh my god, oh my and the girl
little girl written you know, you know me and my kid?
I got like girls really cute. She was like, uh.
She gives She starts giving Lane her phone number on
it in the mic, right, and you're my best friend

(02:21:01):
And she's like, no, you're He's like, no, you're my
best friend. What do you think about that? Could you
stop it? Lane? Look like a door? God, dude, what
do you think about that? Did she crickle her nose
like that? Yes, dude, you're off. You know the lady's kitchen? Man?

(02:21:23):
I really was we we we can't we can't be
giving out your number all these people. What are you doing?

Speaker 6 (02:21:30):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (02:21:31):
Man?

Speaker 1 (02:21:31):
Well, maybe a collab with uh, I don't know. Yeah, Wall,
it's a big clab guy, a little dirk. Yeah. Yeah,
where's a little jeezy? Is he in colab business? That's
young jeezy? Oh there's not a little jeezy. I know
there's a young but there's no little jeezy. There's a
little jazz. Okay, yeah, no, there's young Jeezy like we've
talked about. If he's twenty sixty, he's no longer young. No,

(02:21:55):
So there you go. I'm not sure you gonna be
my friend. What's the name of that? What was the
name of that cut? Real American? There you go, put
some respect on it. Yeah, I did with with the
two c's man. Respect. A lot of hockey last night, Manyeah,
really good night of hockey. No overtime either, No I

(02:22:15):
saw that overtime either. Watching the highlights this one and
two man, pretty good. You feel pretty good about it?
I feel great about it. I want some money. Except
for the Utah Hockey Club didn't win lit upset. You'll
have more chances. There's eighty two of them. Good college
football playoff rankings, first one released Oregon, Ohio State, Georgia,

(02:22:40):
Miami Top four, Texas, Penn State.

Speaker 4 (02:22:42):
There before you go, okay, Georgia, I mean uh, Oregon,
Ohio State, Georgia, Miami top four.

Speaker 1 (02:22:54):
Uh. Any of them overrated? The way that Carson Beck
has played at think Georgia is a little bit overrated.

Speaker 4 (02:23:01):
If the quarterbacks that of the four, he's probably playing well.
Now he's playing worse than any of them, because one
of the top first or second most efficient quarterbacks in
the country is Will Howard. We know how good Dylan
Gabriel's playing, and who's the other one? And cam Ward's
got a chance to win the Heisman Trophy of all

(02:23:22):
those And I guarantee going to the season, if I
said the weakness of the top four teams will be
George's quarterback. You they looked at me like I was
on crack, But it is right now. So but their
defense does a pretty good job and make up for that. Right,
So we'll see if he can shape his game up
as ahead. And he's got a good test because you
know what happens now. Old Mists can score and they're
gonna play fast and Jackson Darts coming off a five

(02:23:43):
hundred yard six touchdown.

Speaker 1 (02:23:45):
Game, and I know it's in Athens, but that's a
scary game.

Speaker 2 (02:23:48):
So you know.

Speaker 4 (02:23:51):
It's in Oxford. That's exactly right, So that even better
for them. But what's your thought process going in if
you Georgia, I know we want to keep him down,
but if they start to score, does Carson Beck start
to feel pressure having to make tight window throws which
he has not consistently made stole the ball the other
team wait to eleven picks or something in five games.

Speaker 1 (02:24:07):
Crazy.

Speaker 4 (02:24:07):
He's got to get better. He's absolutely got to get
better if they're going to win the national title.

Speaker 1 (02:24:11):
And then five through eight you have Texas, Penn State, Tennessee, Indiana.
Do you think Indiana is too lower? You think they're
right where they need.

Speaker 4 (02:24:18):
To be fair, I'll take it. I know they're undefeated,
but people are still voter. I mean, the people who
control this are still sitting back committee and sitting back saying.

Speaker 1 (02:24:28):
You know how it is in the first time, You're like,
is that he had a this reel they have.

Speaker 4 (02:24:33):
They keep beating people about another two weeks of it
and they'll have no choice but to move them up.
But if you're Indiana, dude, you're sitting in a great position,
sitting in now. Of course you like to be one.
They're never getting to one. I'm talking about before the playoff.
They're just you're not. You're not going to get to one.
There's too many, you know, the big the big boppers
are you're there going to be there. But I love

(02:24:56):
the position they're in and they do too, because come on, man,
if I tell you at the beginning of the season
or Indiana's gonna be in the top ten, you'd have
looked at me like, dude.

Speaker 1 (02:25:04):
A new coach, what are you talking about? Yeah, well,
they're talking about a culture change. We saw it here
in the in the NFL. We've seen it here.

Speaker 4 (02:25:12):
Look, local Willie Fritz is doing, although they're not there yet,
doing some hellified things with that football team. And now
they're going to get a chance at Indiana to prove
to people, you know, biscuits home state, that they're not
just a basketball school, and this year they're anything but that.

Speaker 1 (02:25:27):
Yeah, Indiana still has Michigan this weekend.

Speaker 4 (02:25:31):
Michigan mayke it. Last time Indiana was a favorite over Michigan. Probably,
I don't know if they're a favorite now.

Speaker 1 (02:25:37):
But they should be.

Speaker 4 (02:25:38):
I know they were their record, But no matter where
they play, I'm talking about in your the emotional favorite,
where of course the betting line, but it's the emotional favorite.
Yet normally you'd go into a game like this and
the national champion, the former national champion, the current national
champion is underdogs to Indiana. This isn't a basketball game. Hell,
Michigan's got good basketball programmer has had. They've struggled a

(02:25:58):
little bit. Reason but they know what a good bad
basketball is. But this is a football game. And and
he has two touchdown favorites over the reigning national champion.
Part of it is that Michigan just can't throw right.
They can't good offensively.

Speaker 1 (02:26:10):
Uh. The Indiana still has Michigan and Ohio State then
Purdue to finish out their season.

Speaker 2 (02:26:15):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (02:26:15):
The Ohio State game is gonna be if you put
it this way, if they beat Ohio State, they will
get into the top five.

Speaker 1 (02:26:20):
Oh as they should.

Speaker 4 (02:26:21):
That's that's They're never getting to one and until unless
they win the whole thing. But the top five, which
is a great goal. And you know what, Ohio State,
while talented, is beatable.

Speaker 1 (02:26:32):
Yeah. They they are even inconsistent this year at times
on offense.

Speaker 4 (02:26:36):
That's exactly right. So we'll see. But good on Indiana.
I root for these for these teams.

Speaker 1 (02:26:40):
So who's it's it's b YU, Notre Dame, Alabama, Boise
State that round next four. Yeah, so I've got last
one in. Yeah, So I have the let's see the
brackets based upon the first College Football Playoff rankings. That's
what we're gonna do next because it is. I love it, man, Like,

(02:27:02):
this is gonna be awesome because if you look at it,
if you are one of those teams that actually has
to play in the first round, you gotta play in
the first round, you gotta play in the quarterfinals, then
you gotta play in the semi finals, and then you
got to play in the national title. Four extra games.
You will who's gonna survive? You will have earned it.

Speaker 4 (02:27:18):
That's what another people They don't think the mid level
guys physically can stand up week after week.

Speaker 1 (02:27:23):
Depth wise to the big boys. Well, man, love it.

Speaker 4 (02:27:27):
The Indianas by US and Boise States may beg to
different because BILLI Boise State runs the ball like the
big boys. Yeah, so you're gonna have a tasttas to
tackle that guy too.

Speaker 1 (02:27:35):
Love it. Let's let's go through that playoff bracket. Next
on sports Stock seven eighty.

Speaker 3 (02:27:42):
The Shawn Salisbury Show continues.

Speaker 1 (02:27:46):
You got John and Neadville, John and Needville. You're on air.
What's up actually today?

Speaker 11 (02:27:54):
But look here mount just just right here was brought
up to my attention last time. And uh, the Thursday
I went up to the ranch, but I was talking
to a homeowner.

Speaker 1 (02:28:07):
Me and David. We talked for about an hour on
the phone, various things. Are you talking to a guy
for an hour? Shocker? Shut up?

Speaker 2 (02:28:16):
You got to learn the words to these songs, man,
if you're going to sing them, because.

Speaker 11 (02:28:22):
You know, just ask me and David. This is a
throw out to you, to Andre, to Oliver, all my
guys that worked at my customers, some other guys.

Speaker 1 (02:28:32):
Uh huh, dude, you got to learn the words if
you're gonna do this. John printed up that that that
I ain't called you in three or four days. Man,
I've missed giving you a hard time.

Speaker 2 (02:28:45):
I love y'all.

Speaker 1 (02:28:46):
You go ahead, y'all have them go ahead. I get you.
Don't say y'all, I know the words to the songs
and put it on his ass. Get the jokes off.

Speaker 10 (02:28:54):
Dog.

Speaker 1 (02:28:54):
That is that goober that ain't never watched the Halloween
movie Old school work? Yeah? Whatever, he came in, he came,
he saw, he whooped your butt, whooped my butt? Go on, dude,
what my a like? Let's let's talk like a man.
Didn't I always say? Asked just a little bit. What

(02:29:15):
did Mike say about the song? That ass?

Speaker 2 (02:29:20):
Not that?

Speaker 1 (02:29:21):
What do you say? That or that. People got to
understand like that's the bit, yes, the radio bit. Yes,
we were just never mind that sounds bad. Yeah, just
leave it.

Speaker 4 (02:29:34):
Some day I was gonna say, I mean you were
in the bathroom, yeah, playing swords.

Speaker 1 (02:29:38):
Yeah, yeah, we're both washing our hands and you said, hey,
sing ain't no love in oaklhom like you don't know
the words? Well, which is a normal Yeah it's a
but the bit, dog, it's a bit. Let me run
through this bracket real quick before we get out of here.
Do you say that or that that? Yeah? That I
like it.

Speaker 4 (02:29:57):
I said, where your butt? Because he the reason because
John Oyce, Oh yeah yeah that's what I said. Okay,
I got Tom's rs. You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (02:30:05):
The first round buys, it would be Oregon College Football
Playoff if it happened today with the current stuff, it
would be b YU Oregon, Miami, Georgia because Georgia would
win the SEC, Miami would win the ACC, Oregon would
win the Big ten, b Y, you would win the
Big twelve.

Speaker 4 (02:30:24):
So b YU where they are gets the buy even
though they're not a top four team. And that's that's fair.

Speaker 1 (02:30:28):
It's awesome. Boise State and Ohio State would be in
the first round. They would play b YU, Indiana Tennessee.
In the first round they would get Oregon, Alabama, and Texas.
They would get Miami, and then Notre Dame and Penn
State they would get Georgia. I love it. Could you

(02:30:48):
imagine Texas or Alabama they play each other and then
they have to go play Miami just to win that
game and play the winner of Notre Dame and Penn
State who then take on Georgia. Now, but now you
have to you absolutely have to. Now, dude, one's not enough.
You gotta do.

Speaker 4 (02:31:07):
You got to withstand the gauntlet like pro football playoffs,
one after the other man, and they keep moving on
and then it's like okay, or the college basketball turn
with a little more physicality.

Speaker 1 (02:31:19):
That's the way it is. Man. Now one's not enough.
Four quarters.

Speaker 4 (02:31:22):
You don't get just four quarters to win this thing,
or eight quarters considering the final four.

Speaker 1 (02:31:27):
I love it. I do man. I love the banner
that goes with it too. I can't wait, Man, this
is going to be awesome.

Speaker 4 (02:31:34):
Three weeks left in the lot's going to happen this weekend.
Teams will eliminate themselves. You get the three losses, you
can stick a fork in your playoff chances.

Speaker 1 (02:31:43):
Let's see, we've got yeah, one, two, yeah, three weeks
left in the regular season, dude, Thanksgivings right around the corner.

Speaker 4 (02:31:50):
Yes, a couple with three weeks from now or four weeks.
I mean, what is the last Thursday of the month
this year? So yeah, yeah, so.

Speaker 1 (02:31:58):
Three weeks from tomorrow this Thanksgiving Day. Thanksgiving overrated, underrated,
properly rated, overrated, properly rated. For the food, it's overrated, I.

Speaker 4 (02:32:10):
Say, I'm taking it. We all three have a different opinion.
I think it's underrated. Really, I do family, good food.
You're not obligated to give gifts, so you don't feel
like people. Yeah, you have football, it covers it all.
You get college football and NFL. You get good vituals,
you get left over for three or four days, good conversation, naps,

(02:32:31):
kick into play, the weather hopefully be cool down.

Speaker 1 (02:32:34):
I actually think.

Speaker 4 (02:32:35):
It's highly underrated. I think it's overrated, and he thinks
it's properly rated. That's that's what makes a good show.
Three guys are different. I hate you both now because
we have a different opinion. And that's what it's bush
to happen in politics.

Speaker 1 (02:32:45):
Yeah, I hate you. You guys think different than I do.
You want a different food than I do? Yeah? Now,
so there you have it.

Speaker 4 (02:32:51):
I think it's underrated. A matter of fact, I can
put it as I can make the argument and maybe
the best holiday we have.

Speaker 1 (02:32:57):
Yeah, honestly, yeah, I can make that argument and stand
firm on it. I mean I stand on business anyway.
Do you feel me stand on business? Good day? What
are you laughing at? Oh? You know, just on Twitter?
So yeah, the the means are starting to pop off

(02:33:20):
in regards to the election, and they are hilarious. You
can laugh. It's okay, you know what I mean. Not you,
But I'm just saying. You know, the Tom Brady video
of him looking back smiling, somebody walked into the room like,
oh you're here, So what I just want? It's the

(02:33:42):
Tom Brady video, and it's the caption this Joe Biden
watching Cabala walk back into the White House today, and
then it's Tom Brady look get back smiling.

Speaker 4 (02:33:53):
I doubt just my just just my perception, my doubt.
I would doubt that she's gonna get a lot of
verbiage at that table in the conference room. Man, uh,
these last two months, these last two months. Yeah, I
don't think there's a lot of love lost there.

Speaker 1 (02:34:12):
No, I don't think so. Man, what do you bet?

Speaker 4 (02:34:16):
What do you bet that the in the United States
right now has a little more energy this morning? I
don't know what saying it should have been me right,
I'm just telling you. And if you can't either way,
you gotta laugh at the memes on bull.

Speaker 1 (02:34:29):
ST's classic you pushed me out and you got your
ass whooped.

Speaker 4 (02:34:34):
That's really what it comes down to. And the vice
president had a red suit on vice President's wife should
I say the president's wife? What I meant to say
is the first lady, the first lady walked out of
her voting with a red outfit.

Speaker 1 (02:34:51):
Now, I'm not sure if that was a dig or not.
I'm sure it was.

Speaker 4 (02:34:54):
I think it probably was. But the memes and stuff
it did, they're find to laugh. Hey, we wake up today,
wake up tomorrow, hopefully right side of the dirt, and.

Speaker 1 (02:35:01):
Just keep on keeping on right, having on, keep on
Brother Life's of Garden, dig It, show up, show out.
Apparently there's some love in Oklahoma. There is, yep, a
little bit there you go. That's that's that's our ode
to Tripoli's Crib. Yeah, there you go, t Town Dog,
good day. It is taking a nap, yep. I will
definitely be head a second, There's no doubt about it.

(02:35:23):
That's gonna do it.

Speaker 4 (02:35:24):
You sleep when you're dead, that's another that's another big
time basic white guys.

Speaker 1 (02:35:28):
Hey, do you could sleep when you're dead? Yes? Right,
there you go. It is alive. That's John Salisbury Triple.
Emmanuel Elmore is our producer, Ryan Brian Liema. Thank you
