round draft choice of the San Jose Sharks. Michigan dumped

it out to center and it bounces free. Fitzgerald picks
up the loose puck off to his right, looking back door.

Oh for Finley. Good stick by Tyler Duke, the senior defenseman.
Finley got knocked down to the seat of his pants,
taken away by Michigan. Up the middle they come and
Spence tries to dump it in. Eventually they do, and

Horback's going to go back behind the bench and trainer

so the Badgers get a chance on the power play. Well,

on his knees and blocks it down and Hensler picks
up the puck thirty five seconds to go in this
cunest power play scoreless. Early on here in ann Arbor,

and the Badgers keep it alive in the attacking zone.
A little backhand swat at it by Morris He kept

it in Osbourne after it faked left, went back right,
got some space and found Aiden Dubinski, who breaks out
to Montgomery. Pass ahead, good reach by Zen and off
to collect and he can't get a deep. Badgers have
possession though, back in their own zone again. Dubinski up

out of his neck comes Ivan Kovic and he'll leave

wasn't called. Badgers have possession. Breakout up the middle of
Montgomery stick candling through traffic, coughed it up at the

I talked a little bit ago about Montgomery and how
he blew through some players a couple of weeks ago.
This time just stick handling just inside his own blue line,
and tough place to turn the puck over when your
teammates are headed the other way. Michigan turns it around.
Really their first chance of the game, first time with
possession of the puck and the offensive zone, and this
one ends up in the Badger's net.

Garrett Schifski on the fourth line, the junior from andover Minnesota,
gets his fifth goal of the season. Give Aiden Park,
the former Green Bay Gambler helper, and so Michigan is
on the board first. Valentini will get the secondary assists,
so the fourth line contributes for Michigan. Although Mike Hastings

spoke with the Big Ten referees and Mike Hastings as
elected to use his time out to challenge that play,
I did not hear exactly what the referee tried to indicate,
that being Anthony Victor, did you hear what he said? Yeah,

If he watch the replay the initial shot by Shifski,
he foleows it up. He kind of makes some contact
with Houser and then pushes the puck in, So this
will be an interesting one.

Shipsky went down the middle of the ice and beat
Dubinski to the spot, got the original shot off. Actually
it was Montgomery who was trying to defend on Shipskey
got the shot off, but his momentum carried him in
to Wisconsin goaltender Daniel Hauser, knocking him back into the

net somewhat, not completely, but he had his backside across
the goal line, and then Shipsky took another whack at

Blake Montgomery protects the puck, able to scoop it into

Well. Michigan's always been a puck possession team, whether it
was under Red Baron Center or Mel Pearson or now
Brandon Narrato. Wisconsin likes to possess the puck too. It's,
as Mike Hastings has said multiple times, it's a lot
easier to defend when you have the puck, and that's
certainly is the case. One thing that Mike pointed out
as we resume play here in ann Arbor that Michigan

is doing this year more than he had seen in
recent years. Fuck the flex off his stick all the
way down to the Wisconsin zone. They'll call icing on
Michigan is that they're defending harder. They're more physical and
defending harder than he can recall. And while Wisconsin right
now only has three shots on goals so far, the
Badgers have had a lot of offensive zone possession, just

not getting a lot of pucks of the net.

We will say that Michigan's kind of gotten in a
way a bit from some of the passes through the
slot and shots. I've had some close call opportunity is
