Badgers in their road cardinal uniforms with the white trimming

(01:24):
numerals Wisconsin diagonally down the chests, and Michigan comes out
in home maze uniforms with the blue trim and the
winged helmets. They'll be skating left to right here in
the opening period of play from Yost Arena. The children
of Yoaster here again, fully engaged. Already, every seat seems

(01:45):
to be taken in this old building where the Badgers
have had success under Mike Hastings. Although they lost last
night seven to four, we'll see how they bounce back
here tonight. You know, this team, to Paul, there are
some veterans, but there's some young men out here who
had never played in a hostile environment like this in

(02:08):
a college hockey game before, and an educational experience probably
to say the least.

Speaker 6 (02:15):
I remember early on in the game last night, Lou Osborne,
early shift, took a dive in the corner on the
law on the left boards in front of a lot
of family, getting the nerves out there.

Speaker 5 (02:26):
He ended up scoring shortly after that in the game.
But yeah, some of those young guys, it's a a
hawesile environment.

Speaker 6 (02:32):
But It's also really fun once you get past that
nerves at the beginning and get to see it again tonight.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
All right, here we go Morrissey to take the draw
it center ice against keenan draper they put out there
in the starting lineup, and the puck goes to Wisconsins Dubinski.
Now Morrissey follows up and sweeps it deep into the
Michigan zone to our left. The goaltender Ivan Koltak came
out of the net and paddled it over to the
far side wall. Michigan throws it out to center. It
bounces around a little bit. Bodril's got control of it.

(02:59):
Then Tassiy miss handles, but Dubinski alone back in his
own zone as it goes d to d to Osburn
and Wisconsin will look to break out thirty seconds into
the opening period, although Josh Ernesty just dogging Dubinski right
now and Ayden has to turn back around behind the net,
use that for some interference, and now Wisconsin's Osburn up
to the red line cut off by TJ. Hughes, the

(03:20):
senior centerment able to rub him off. Puck back into
the Wisconsin end and gulfed out to center by Ben Dexzheimer.
And there's the defenseman Luca van Tilli for Michigan. Up
to the near side Will Horkoff, will spin it in
out of his net, comes Hauser. He banks it over
the near side wall. Somewhat of a dangerous move by Hauser,
but we've got a whistle and I think offside will

(03:41):
be called based off coming out outside the Wisconsin zone.
So here's Daniel Hawser last night. He coughs one up
behind his net. Michigan scores an easy one and you're thinking, okay,
just stay between the pipes. No, he comes out of
the net here in the first minute of the game
and preventing Michigan from getting the puck in the offensive zone.

Speaker 5 (03:59):
Yeah, a good play, Steak.

Speaker 6 (04:00):
You talk about the way he is in resilience and
nothing bothers seems to bother him and no impact right there.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
Here's Malcolm Spence after winning the draw shot blocked by
Jack Falin. They bump it out to the point dear side.
It's roberts In his long range shot went off the
body of Piran to the far side wall. Horbock between
the legs break out. The Falan snaps off the pass
up the middle. Here's Blake. Montgomery drops it off to
Dick behind him, throws it back to Montgomery. He reaches
for it and then Tyson Dick able to put it

(04:28):
to the far wall. Badgers try to hold his own.
Montgomery takes it off the boards straight away, try to
force a pass. Got it back from Dick now and
Blake will send it in around to the right corner.
It goes and Wisconsin in the midst of a change,
sending out the fourth line for Wisconsin. Right now, Finn
Brink out there, Grady Deering and Bruto e John up
the middle comes Green Bay native Drew Shock from Michigan.

(04:50):
He'll dump it down into the Wisconsin zone. It rolls
behind the Badger net quickly there Logan Henzler outlet the
e John Grady Deering over skates now catches up at
the red line while Possession batted that by e John
and the Badgers able to dump it into the offensive
zone to our left. Quickly after it Tyler Duke. He
whips it around the near side wall and it comes

(05:10):
out to center and the Badgers have it there. Bruno
e John a healthy scratch last night. He's got the
ability to put the puck away twenty seven goals in
the USAHL last year in about a half season with Lincoln. Oh.

Speaker 6 (05:21):
Some of the guys talked to the Big ten guys
this week and Daniel Hauser has asked who had the
hardest shot in the team, and Bruno e John was
one of the guys he brought up as among the answers.
So we haven't seen it him. I have a chance
to use that too much yet this season.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
Michigan ice to PUK should correct myself. Ejohn had twenty
five with Lincoln last year. Forty seven points and forty
two games is one point two two points per game average,
second best in the USHL a year ago. Badgers, though,
send out Morrissey now with Tassi, Botterrel, Deck Sheimer, and
Falen face off to the right of Ivan Covid. Morris

(06:00):
You won twelve to twenty one draws last night. Wins
this one A snapshot by Deck Sheimer went behind the
net and taken now by Michigan up to center ice.
Since Adam Ballentini he'll fire it down into the Wisconsin zone.
It spins to the near side. Morrissey ducks away from
pressure in Falan picks up the loose puck in front
of the Badgery's nets and then he banks it out

(06:21):
to center right to the stick of Michigan's Asher Barnett,
product of the national team development program, A number of
these Michigan Wolverines over the last couple of decades played
their junior hockey, so to speak, up in Plymouth, Michigan
puck rolls on the far side, loose in the far circle,
to the right of Daniel Hauser, and now Morrisey got

(06:42):
cross checked in the back, but comes out of there
with a puck. Davin Morrissey headman's to Finley bumped off
the biscuit by Barnett, and it trickles into the Michigan
zone and Rayo Mullen goes to get it for the
Mazon Blue. Finley stays on him, uses his stick a
little bit, almost forced to turn over. This is probably
the game plan for Wisconsin, I know it is. They

(07:02):
want to pressure the defenseman as best they can to
prevent Michigan from getting in its transition game. Now Fitzgerald
will sweep it behind the net. Finley back to Fitzgerald
is shot denied by Ivan Covid. Good look, fitz He
back with it again off to the right wing. Now
Henzler low right puts one through the crease out to
the left point, shoals Oliver Tulk now controls whips it

(07:22):
across to Fitzgerald looking, puts it towards the net, pad
sade made by Ivan Covid, and Michigan clears it to center.
This first period similar to how the Badgers got going
last night too.

Speaker 6 (07:32):
I was gonna say we had no shots until that shift.
For the first three and a half minutes of this
game look kind of a little bit of feeling out,
But that was a good ship by the Badger's first line,
good puck moving. It went across ice a couple of times,
got the puck through the net and a couple stops
by the goaltender.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
Adam piedal of forces a turnover behind the net. Tyson
Dick with it low right sign finds Montgomery is shot
in and out of the glove of Ivan Kovic. That
was a point blank shot by Blake Montgomery, who had
four goals in his previous three games and untill last
night when he went minus three on the evening. And
now Adam Piedla has lost his helmet and whistle stops

(08:07):
play for safety reasons and they'll drop the puck in
the Michigan zone fifteen thirty five to go in the
opening period.

Speaker 6 (08:12):
No score at a Piella to me was part of
the line that was extremely effective last night, which is
totally broken up tonight. But it was Deering at Piella
and Jack Horbach. They had some extended, extended shifts in
the Michigan zone.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
Now Bruno e. John is out there with Deering and
Finn Brink, who gets his first shift of the evening,
and the Badgers have the puck. Osburn d Dubinskien now
to Brink cut off by shock. Those two battling in
the far corner. Deering goes for support and had it
for a moment, but Michigan comes out of there with
it and they throw it off the glass and out
through center ice. Dubinski banks it back, finds the stick

(08:51):
of Finn Brink, turns to his left, sweeps the pass
off to Osburn across the line try to get a
deep ran into traffic, Battling back for it. Brink, now
in the corner, turns and faces the net, goes back
behind the cage, whacked at by shock. Held in at
the point. Now Dubinski skips one went off the stick
of Deering and why Grady retrieves it during the freshman
centerment stick candling through three Wolverines and al Bruno e

(09:13):
John in the corner. Tassi has joined the Badger's forward
line right now bounces towards the front of the net,
whacked out towards Osbourn out high dex Sheimer's shot that's
blocked away. Look out, Ben's got a hustle out with
it now Malcolm Spence, he stays with him, stride for stride. Spence, though,
catches up to it one hands a shot on goal
and Howser stops at his first save of the night.

Speaker 6 (09:34):
Good battle there by Dexheimer after the shot block, the
puck just kind of died it for Spence at his feet,
but uh they played a make it force only a
one handed shot.

Speaker 2 (09:46):
Oh behind the defense Coal McKinney with it cut off
though by Falan nowhere to go. McKinney hope. Phalen just
got interfered with long range shot blocked before it got
to the net, and then Howser PopEd itto the near corner.
Michigan just ran a pick play on Thalen, which gave
them a scoring opportunity. No penalty call. Long range shot
by Tassy kicked out by Ivan Kovic. Morrissey put it

(10:08):
back behind the net. It eludes the stick of Tassy.
Hensler down the wall keeps it alive in the attacking zone,
but the Wolverines get to it. Although Morrissey applies for
checking pressure, he falls down back upon his skates and
the Wolverines now have it. McKinney scoops it out to center,
brought down by Fatlan looking for help. He's pressured by McKinney.
That was Hensler, beggar pardon. Now here's Fitzgerald at center

(10:28):
works his way to the middle of the ice. Now
Finley through traffic, had a shot blocked and got crushed.
Bike draper penalty coming up on Michigan, cross checking penalty
on the Wolverines. Badgers will get a cunest power playing
a scoreless first period.

Speaker 5 (10:42):
Well special teams we talked about last night.

Speaker 6 (10:45):
Badgers won that battle, got one out of three and
killed all the Michigans to outstanding power play teams so
far this year, and the bags here there get rewarded
for all their hard work here at the last five
minutes or so drawlie and get a chance to try
to get on the lead.

Speaker 2 (11:02):
Its content thirty four percent on the power play thirteen
of thirty eight, one for three last night, five for eleven,
and three Big Ten games so far eight for twenty
over the last five games. Here's Bondrel, Hensler, Tulk, Montgomery
and e John on this power play unit. Oliver talk
with it right wing catching shooting ejhn it block may

(11:23):
have gone off of Montgomery. Actually, now Montgomery retrieves right circle.
E John looking Hensler control straight away. Ejohn thought about
shooting right wing back to Hensler at center point. Left
wing blast by Tulk, kicked out by Ivan Kobc. Wisconsin's
got it again, e John Hensler, He'll tee it up.
Got through stick saved by Ivan Kobec in the corner.
Now it's e John. Badgers continue to pressure on this

(11:43):
power play. Still scoreless. Tulk walks in left side. She'll
twine into the chest of Ivan Kovic kneeling there. The
freshman goaltender made this stop and.

Speaker 5 (11:51):
Hung on clean. Let's by the badger of this power play.

Speaker 6 (11:54):
But it's been too much, too easy for the goaltender
to see where those shots are coming from.

Speaker 5 (12:00):
Been a lot of open ice.

Speaker 6 (12:01):
We saw Henzler from the point, clear lane. The goaltender
could see it. In the last shot just talk also
able to see the puck and the goaltender came out.
So the better's making good puck movement, getting good open shots,
but need a little bit of a traffic in front
of the goaltender.

Speaker 2 (12:17):
Orris he Fitzgerald, Finley, Tassy and dex Sheimer now out
for Mike Hastings squad based off to the right of
Ivan Kovic, and the Magers win that draw. Dex Sheimer
walks the line, He's got some space moves and chill.
Damn scores. Ben Dexheimer, the captain, lights the lamp on
a power play Wisconsin up early in ann Arbor, and.

Speaker 6 (12:36):
This time Simon Tassi standing in front of the goaltender
Ivan Kovic, exactly what we're just talking about. And then
Dexheimer had a lot of room. He skated right down
the slot, avoided the shot block and hit the corner
Simon Tassi again taking away the goaltender's eyes, and the
Betters get that one goal lead.

Speaker 2 (12:56):
Seven to eleven the time of then dex Sheimer's power
play goal for Dexi. That's his first this season. It's
his first goal in twenty one games, dating back to
January twenty fifth, when he scored against Michigan, a game
time goal at the Coal Center that eventually the game
was settled in a shootout. But Ben deck Sheimer is
first of the year and the Badgers on top. Here

(13:19):
at Yost Arena, Wisconsin, shots on goal eight to two
so far, We're only seven and a half minutes in
Badgers breakout. Horbock finds Montgomery wide right now, tries to
cut around the defenseman, stops near the dot. Now a
little stutterstep move put it on goal. Ivan Kobc stopped it.
It's loose to the blue paints, chipped out, no chipped
and held in by dex Sheimer. Ben dex Shimer down

(13:41):
the left wing wall. Here's Montgomery now and he coughed
it up and Michigan will exit its own zone. Rayo
Mullen will skate to the red line and Montgomery knocked
him off balance. Right wing pass for tj Ues could
stick by Tyson Dick for us to turnover. Here comes
deck Seimer on the move. Dex Shimer, who's right his
shot that's blocked by Valentini. Valentini, after it slowed by

(14:02):
e John, it comes out to center ice in mid air.
Deck Sheimer brought it down and then pinned against the
sideboards by the Michigan bench. E John battling Valentini. Badgers
have it. Deering to his right, shoots one it whistled
it wide. Oh, he moved to his right quickly and
got off an open shot but missed the nets. And
then Shoals just got smoked by Garrett Shifsky. We play

(14:26):
on e John. We'll send it to the left corner
and give Chase. Michigan gets there first. McKinney pressured by Deering,
Grady works through him at a penalty. Coming up on
Grady Deering, he kind of hogtied him a little bit,
knocked him down, shoved him down holding. They'll say on
Wisconsin's Grady deering. So the Badger's score a power play goal.
Now Michigan will get a man advantage when we come back.

(14:48):
Eleven twenty to go in the first period, Wisconsin leeds
Michigan won to nothing. From the Rail Transport broadcast booth,
this is Badger hockey from Learfield.

Speaker 8 (15:55):
Wisconsin dot.

Speaker 2 (16:03):
Ander Hockey brought you by rail transport for every mile
of your truck driving career. Learn more at rail dot
jobs the Badgers lead. Michigan won nothing but Grady Deering
in the box for holding at eight point forty. So
the Wolverines, who have the number one power play in
the country of thirty eight percent, get a crack here
face off to the left of wisconsint miner Daniel Hauser.

(16:27):
Their power play unit Hughes horkof Hage Valentini and the
quarterback is Jaden Peran, the former North Dakota Fighting Hawk.
Buck goes to the corner on the draw failing got
a good piece of it, rimmed it around. Horbock couldn't
handle it, dives to try to keep it out of
the zone or get it out of the zone. Lost
his stick when he gets it back, and Michigan will

(16:48):
set up on the man advantage. Horkoff eleven goals, tied
for the national lead. Stick candling with it puran low left.
H didn't know what to do with it and didn't
get much wood on it, and actually it just trickled
back below the goal line behind the net. Hage battling.
Now Horback's lifted off the glass far side. Hughes with it,
forced out of the zone, but the puck stays in
barn Now left wing Hage, Morrissey out on him, Morrissey

(17:11):
horback Falin and shoals with it, cues far side Hage
sliding right on his knees. Houser makes this stop and
hangs On's been at twenty three to go in the
Michigan power play, one nothing Wisconsin.

Speaker 6 (17:22):
Here in the first period, Gavin Marci had the power play,
won the face off back to Deck Sheimer for the
assessed this fine. He starts out the Pelly kill wins
the face off back. I Badgers try to get the
puck out, just takes a kind of a goofy bounce
off jag Horbach and then Michigan went to work for
a little while. Looked like they might have had it
out right away, but did not, and Michigan gets its
scoring chance.

Speaker 2 (17:41):
Michael Hage eight goals this season, had two last night.
One was an empty net or seven shots on goal
for Hages, who someday soon will likely be playing with
former Wisconsin Badger Cole Clawfield in the Montreal Canadian Sage
of first round pick a couple of years ago. And
now here's Michigan up the middle of the ice. Ben
Robertson the Cornell transfer will give Chase back behind the

(18:03):
Badger net first man there, though Dubinski tried to get
an up off the glass and out no luck. M
Kinny now wide open low right. Robertson catches no angle
to shoot straightaway. Rayo Mullen now have tried by Robertson
stop by Howser. It got caught up underneath his right pad,
but he's able to control it eventually and get another whistle.

Speaker 4 (18:24):
Right.

Speaker 5 (18:24):
He said no angle for Ryers at the first time.

Speaker 6 (18:26):
He kind of took a shot with tough angle on
the second try too, but it's the Michigan players in front.
But Howiser does his best to fight through and ends
up covering up the puck before and he damaged occurs.

Speaker 2 (18:38):
So far, so good for Daniel Hawser. He's faced four
shots and stopped them all one nothing. Wisconsin Badger's still
short handed for another forty nine seconds, failing and shoals
defensively with Morrisey and Horbach on this PK, there's TJ.
Hughes said to take the draw. Hughes one hundred and
thirty eight points and one hundred and twenty seven collegiate games.

(18:58):
Rayo Mullen snaps off left wing. It bounced over the
stick of Hage, who took it off the wall and
possesses Age. Double team sauces out to Rayo Mullen now
Valentini with it immediately pressured by horback Rayal Mullen now
to Hage. Here's a slot past Hughes. Then oh my goodness,
Howser just stone Hage on a shot from the left wing.
Beautiful passing play by Michigan. Hage wide open and Howser

(19:22):
leaning right with a big stop. Hage again coming in
left wing, defended by Felan. Powerplay continues for Michigan. Fifteen
seconds left in it. Hage again wants a one timer.
Alex not to shoot this time, looking looking at a
pass to flex off Fhelan gathering it in. Now is TJ. Hughes.
Eight seconds left in the power play, low right, Valentini backed,
I use his drive may have skipped off the far

(19:44):
post and then hit the netting above the glass. It's
out of play. One second left on the power play.
One nothing, Wisconsin, nine twenty one left of the first.

Speaker 5 (19:53):
Wow, some great puck movie by Michigan and the I
think it was t J.

Speaker 6 (19:57):
Hughes passed up a shot in the slot just so
get the puck back to Hage for that one. Big
say by Howser, who his movement back and forth to
the center and then back to the right to get
in place.

Speaker 5 (20:08):
It was a big time for Wisconsin.

Speaker 2 (20:16):
Right face off to the left of Howser, Grady Deering
anxious to get out of the box. However, Tolkien there
to take the face off. Tassy, Dubinski and Osburn talk
over sixty percent on the draws. He wins that one,
although Osburn pinned against the near side wall. Eventually Tall
cable to backhanded out through center. That allows Deering to
get cross size and Ryan Bonol will join his line

(20:39):
mates here as Wisconsin at full strength. So the Badgers,
who won the special teams battle last night but lost
the game, lead the special teams battle here tonight and
lead the game one nothing, nine zero two to go
in the first That.

Speaker 6 (20:52):
Was a big kill there by. Wisconsin and Michigan had
some pretty nice passing plays. We talked about their skill
that they had their top line over with the puck
around here. Robertson on the back end had a couple
of chances there on the side as a defenseman all
the way down below the dots and how there was
up to the task on that one.

Speaker 2 (21:10):
Oliver Tulk take the draw to the right of Jack
ivan Kovic and it goes to Lucafan Tilly, who plops
it out to center. Osburn has it for Wisconsin, d
to d with Dubinsky and right back to lose Osburn.
Osburn head man's to bottle it the blue line, pass
off the far wall. Tassie hammers it deep. Tulk moved

(21:30):
it along to the near side, stumbling a bit moodral
Ernesty takes it away. Ernesty at center scoops it deep
and keenan draper in pursuit cut off by Dubinsky, freed
the puck for Osburn rims it around the Tulk, who
skates it back into the Wisconsin zone, but defines the
stick of Osburn. His headband passed knocked down by Paran,
who slides it slowly into Robertson and then off the

(21:53):
bench comes McKinney backhand passed Paran across the line, now
right wing. McKinney tried to refeed piranh and Osburn got
his stick the way and he'll scoop it out to
neutral ice well nothing Wisconsin eight minutes to go here
in the opening period of play, long shift for Luke Osburn.
Here in the opening period, Montgomery after the puck, whips
it across and Adam Piedla scoops it ahead for Dick

(22:15):
and aerial fee that Tyson couldn't make contact with. Badgers
get that change finally. Now here's Drew Shock Shock right wing,
passed Pern right back to Shock and a wheeling backhand
passed to the slot picked off by Wisconsin sensler, and
then Dick tried to escape through traffic and passed it
was picked off momentarily, but the Badgers get it back.
Pencler off balance pass ahead now to Dick, works to

(22:36):
the slot, right wing pass to Finn Brink PopEd off
his stick by the defenseman Barnett's. Now the Badgers shoot
one towards the cage, blocked down by ray O Mullen.
Valentini trying to stick candle with Montgomery in his hip
pocket and lost it. And now a penalty coming up
on Michigan slashing penalty. His brink went down in Wisconsin.

(22:57):
Who's going to get a cutest power play at second
of the night, already won for one a chance to
take a two nothing lead here seven twenty four to
go in the first.

Speaker 6 (23:05):
At Valentini trying to protect the puck in his own slot.
Kind of a dangerous play and yeah, kind of what
end up causing the penalty by Michigan having to take
the penalty on Michigan turned the puck over when a
second batger came in and then some stick work got
the Badgers.

Speaker 5 (23:20):
The power play succeeded on the first one. Get another
chance here.

Speaker 2 (23:25):
Slashing on Valentini at twelve thirty six. All right, Morrissey
back out there to take the draw on top power
pulling it out for Mike Hastings Badgers. Here's deck Seimers
straight away now Morrissey shot deplected off a stick, tough
angle off the n boards. Findley trying to hammer it in.
But I've been Covid told to his left and smothered

(23:47):
that puck.

Speaker 6 (23:48):
Wow, just shot why by Wisconsin to the right of
the goaltender and bounced off the backboards and Quinn Finley
on the far side had the loose puck kind of
was waiting for the net to move. Ivan Covid got
over made the same finley give one of those sticks
over the shoulder type of plays. It was a tough angle. Actually,

(24:09):
I don't know that it was actually even headed towards
the net when.

Speaker 2 (24:11):
You see the replay not on goal, it was headed
towards the crease for sure. Badgers win the face off
dex Sheimer right wing, Morrissey one timer, ah, he scores.
Gavin Morrissey ripped it from the right wing. Another power
play goal to nothing, Wisconsin.

Speaker 6 (24:28):
Point passion Ben deck Sheimer to Gavin Morrissey. We've seen
other people in that position. Quinn Finley's been there, Kristin
Fitzgerald's been there. Haven't seen Gavin Morssey over there. But
he got the job done. It didn't look like a blast,
but he found the right spot and found the net,
and the Batterers get a two goal lead here early
and a.

Speaker 2 (24:45):
Two goal weekend for Gavin Morrissey, who hadn't scored all season.
Morrissey from dex Seimer, a reverse of the opening power
play goal when Morrissey set up Dexheimer. The Badgers with
a two nothing lead at the twelve to fifty mark.
Hop the draw horkoff comes in and slow moving shot
easy saved for Howser. Good defense by Zach Schulz and
a face off to come in the Wisconsin zone Morrissey

(25:08):
from Dexheimer and Finley at twelve fifty for Finley, he
extends his point scoring streak to seven games. Morrissey did
so by setting up dex Sheimer before based off to
the right of Houser. Oliver Tulk against TJ. Hughes. Taul

(25:29):
Clean's in and he wins that draw. He's sot his
center of gravity, Oliver Tulk, and he's just built. He's
a strong young lad, not tall, but he's thick. In
that time, he just got underneath Hughes and won the draw.

Speaker 6 (25:44):
Slow center gravity. He always gets his hands down with
inches of the ice.

Speaker 2 (25:48):
Oh a shot from the left wing by Bottrel that
was stopped by ivan Kovic, who shakes his head a
little bit. Eleven shots on goal for the Badgers in
the opening period leading to nothing and now shoals try
to smack it out of the zone. No luck. Hohrkoff
got in the way, passed by Hage. Intendant for Rayom
Mullen intercepted by the Badgers Henzler, who misfired on a

(26:08):
Headman passed to Tassi. Wisconsin called for icing six twenty
six to go in the opening period. Hey, Badger fans
choose chill and celebrate responsibly twenty one means twenty one
corps light choose chill twenty twenty five Cores Brewing Company,
Golden Colorado.

Speaker 5 (26:24):
That last one.

Speaker 6 (26:24):
Logan Hensler almost caught Michigan in a line change as
Simon Tassi up the slot or I should say far
blue line.

Speaker 5 (26:30):
If he received that pass, he was in alone.

Speaker 2 (26:34):
Face off one by Michigan in the offensive zone. Luka
Fantilly shot blocked by Bottrell, gathered in by Shoals. He's
at the red line. He'll dump it in. He needs
a change and he'll get it out. Comes Dick and
Porbach and Montgomery, along with Osburn and Dubinski with speed,
Drew Shock left wing across the Badger line. Shock tough
angled shot on goal, Houser stopped it and then running

(26:54):
into Hauser was Keenan Draper, knocking Houser off balance into
the goal, which off its moorings. There was unnecessary contact
there by the Michigan forward Keenan Draper, but the referees
aren't gonna call anything.

Speaker 5 (27:09):
Badgers are cleaning their case.

Speaker 6 (27:10):
They reacted after the contact with Houser, gave a little
post whistle cross check.

Speaker 5 (27:18):
Well deserved.

Speaker 2 (27:19):
Yeah, we've got a stoppage and play with six oh
six to go in the opening period. Power play goals
from Ben deck Seimer and Gavin Morrissey have the Badgers
on top two and I think this is Badger hockey
from Airfield.

face afters tender Daniel Hauser. He stopped all eight Michigan
bids so far. Draper's out there now with Ernesty and

(29:00):
on the far wing Nick Moldenauer the Toronto maple leafs
draft choice Morrissey against Draper in the face off circle
and that draw one by the Wolverines placed to the corner.
Dubinsky gets there before Moldenour. A little bump by Moldenower,
and then Dubinsky coughed it up. Ernesty shovels it back
behind the badger. Net Osbourne stops there. It's loose in
the corner. Dubinski finds an open man finley and the

(29:21):
Badger's breakout had numbers for a moment, but Finley held
up lead feed for Fitzgerald too far, but Christian will
chase it down. Now tied up with Barnett deep in
the Michigan zone, comes free to Tyler Duke and he
turns north and we'll scoop it up through center ice.
Batted down with a right hand by Felan and hand
pass waved off as Tyler Duke for Michigan picks it

(29:42):
up and now at wobbles back Wisconsin's way and Gavin
Morrissey now has it at center and he'll heave it
deep five point twenty to go in the first Ivan
Covid out of his net. Wanted to feed Rayo Mullen
with a pass, but the big defenseman took a digger.
He's back upon escapes now and outlets to Robertson. He'll
place it to the left corner foot race between Dexheimer

(30:03):
and Park Park with a reach. Got it there to
the near side Paraan forced to the wall by Grady Deering,
he turns and dumps it deep again, slides to the
far side wall of the defenseman Robertson. Fitzgerald there Phelan
as well, and now it's slide back behind the badgering net.
Dezheimer stops it, tries to move back left, Park got
in his way, tries to move right, and Spence got

(30:24):
in his way. And now Grady deering with a puck.
Chopp dat held moved ahead with a hand pass, but
it goes through the legs of E John And now
it's real mullin who's got it for the maze in Blue?
Two nothing Badgers. Four and a half minutes left in
the opening period. Dexheimer brings the puck down with a
right hand passed to E John slowly ahead, now for
Finn Brink Wing Brink ptexts puts it behind the net,

(30:46):
out of the reach of E John and then Talk
with a huge hit and from the red line. The
referee Anthony Victor is gonna call a pedale on the
Badger's centerman Oliver talk delayed pedalty extra attacker for Michigan
Talk trying to to the puck. Hensler slows McKinney and
a whistle stops play.

Speaker 5 (31:04):
Wow, I mean assume that's gonna be an interference penalty.

Speaker 2 (31:09):
It will be boy Tulk squashed him on the far corner,
and I'm not so sure that's a penalty.

Speaker 6 (31:17):
I think that I think there was no both players
going for the puck and we didn't really have possession
of it, and yeah, Tul came in and smoked him,
and yeah, the linesman from one hundred feet or I'm
sorry the referee from a hundred feet away called it.

Speaker 5 (31:31):
But I think it's probably a call that could see
it happening.

Speaker 6 (31:38):
It was.

Speaker 5 (31:38):
It was an interference play for sure.

Speaker 6 (31:41):
If he waited a half second longer when he had
the pucke, it would have been fine.

Speaker 2 (31:45):
All right, I'll take off the red sweater i'm wearing here,
and yep, Tulk interference fifteen oh two. Good physical play
though by the Badger's freshman, But you gotta be smart
against the Michigan Wolverines. Falan got pulled down, yes, sir,
Off the draw to the left of Howser. Falan had

(32:06):
possession of the puck and Valentini put his stick right
up in his sweater in arms and pulled him off balanced.
And so Michigan's power play lasted but four seconds. So
Victor calls Michigan for a penalty after calling Wisconsin for one.

Speaker 6 (32:27):
Yeah, that's just a that's story playing from Michigan part yeah,
fuck on on through the slot, get your stick on there,
and you're going to force somebody to turn the puck
over and to put the referee in the spot.

Speaker 5 (32:37):
You have to call that. The Bagger's killed at four
second power play.

Speaker 2 (32:43):
Right, fifteen fifty two is the time of Tulk's penalty.
Fifteen fifty six the time of Valentini's penalty. So we'll
skate four on four for the next roughly two minutes
or so. Fuck is near the Badger's bench across the way,
pulled free by Robertson, Pope loose by Dubinsky, Osburne protects
and he'll put it out to center, and now Rayo

(33:05):
Mullen lead feed Robertson right through the wickets, icing cold
on the Wolverines. Three forty two to go in the
opening period, two nothing Wisconsin. Ben Dekzheimer a power play
goal at seven eleven from Gavin Morrissey, and now they've
corrected Morrissey's power play goal at twelve fifty dex Sheimer
the lone assists no helper from Finland, but that could

(33:27):
change because scoring change last night too.

Speaker 6 (33:31):
And the Badger's almost got another pud. I'm sorry Michigan
a must took another penalty right after that. Right the
batterers wanted a call. They were trying to get the
fuck up on their own blue line out of the
zone and a little bit of hooking and holding going
on and thatders eventually got it out, but the batter
bench wasn't happy with nothing there.

Speaker 2 (33:47):
They saw towards the right of Ivan Kovik, Fitzgerald doing
the honors. He's paired with Tassie on this four on four,
Henzler and Dexheimer on the ice as well. Michigan has
Hage and Hughes, Rayo, Mullen and Robertson minute fifteen to
go in the four on four, here's Michael Hage with
it longlinky right hander Whar's number nineteen off to his

(34:09):
right into the Wisconsin zone. Wants to dangle Deckzheimer tries
to push through Hensler. The puck got to the crease,
Howser pushing his teammates away to locate it, did and
pounced on it.

Speaker 6 (34:20):
That just did a good play, but took the body
on Hayes going to the net and the puck just
kept going and with the bodies there.

Speaker 5 (34:25):
And the puck just kind of bouncing around.

Speaker 2 (34:28):
How is there?

Speaker 5 (34:29):
Looked like he had an eye on it the whole
time it popped up in the air.

Speaker 6 (34:33):
He made the stop, get into his own teammate bounced
into him, but he jumped down the pocket.

Speaker 5 (34:41):
Ended the kind of the mess.

Speaker 2 (34:43):
Howser stopped twenty six of thirty one last night. He's
nine for nine so far. Here tonight to two nothing,
Wisconsin lead three twelve to go. In the opening period,
Morrisey wins the face off. Dubinski had it swatted off
his stick, and now it slides to the near side
in Osbourne, who hits the brakes and then turns right.
In McKinney, Osburn battled back one possession and outlet Studubinski

(35:04):
er at least intended to aiden stopped, peeled back and
now he'll skate out of his own zone up to
the blue line. In Morrissey, who's stuck behind Duke Gavin,
down to the corner, pinned against the wall. Now by
Duke and the loose puck slides to the front of
the Michigan Gold mouth and it's taken by McKinney. Three
on two right wing pass Horkoff out of his reach.
He chased it down near corner, held up by Osburn.

(35:26):
Now Finley tries to pull it free. Dubinski puts a
body on McKinney, and Wisconsin's Morrissey now turns to his left,
nifty stickhandling in front of his own net and outlets
to Osburn, pass to Finley, skates back to the red
line and now Dexheimer with it fifteen seconds left in
the minor penalty to Wisconsin's Oliver Tulk straight away catching

(35:46):
Felan and he had just come off the bench and
was just getting to the blue line when dex Sheimer's
pass reached him. Hadn't gained the line yet. Offside on
the Badgers two seventeen to go in the first to
nothing Wisconsin.

Speaker 6 (36:00):
Room on the ice on that obviously four and four
and that played deck. Seimer got the pucket. The flow
of the play was going right. He looked like he's
gonna make a pass, but he found a lot of
open ice down the left side, and that we had
a connected with Faal and that probably would have turned
into a pretty good chance.

Speaker 2 (36:13):
Montgomery to Falan. Jack now forced out of the zone,
Badgers will touch up just as they get to full strength.
A near turnover from Wisconsin's deck. Seimer in his own
zone lead feed Talk out of the box, mishandled now
picks it up low left pass to the slot and
no one there for the Badgers look out. Here comes
Michigan in transition two on two, although Shipsky couldn't handle
the original pass and the Badger's now control. Minute fifty

(36:35):
to go on the period, Lake Montgomery stick handling up
the middle, finds Tyson Dick. He stops lost it, retrieved
by Talk lost it, Dick now has it. Tyson turn
around shot blockered away by the goaltender Ivankovic, and Michigan
has possession, scooped ahead by Shipsky, batted away by Hensler
and back to neutral ice In Rayo Mullen cuts to

(36:59):
his left the center circle, tried to dump it in
Tyson Dick got in the way. Jack Horback now will
scoop it on goal and blocker it again away by
ivan Kovic for Horbock in on the ford check. Here
comes Grady Deering and Bruno e John joining their line mate. Horback,
shoals and Hensler out there too. As we get to
about a minute ago in the opening period, too nothing

(37:20):
Wisconsin deck Simer and Morrissey with power play goals. In
the opening frame, Puck squorts free in the corner. Still
a battle going on. Ray Ol Mullen has it. Ernesty
tries to bust free. Puck slides out towards the high slot,
held in for a moment by Deering and then placed
to center by Michigan. Ernesty battles against shoals and had
it for a moment. But now logan Hensler for Wisconsin. Lead,

(37:43):
feed for E John a bit too far and they'll
call icing on Wisconsin. Pensler had quite a bit of
mustard on that shot. Are that past that is? And
E John just couldn't catch up to him.

Speaker 5 (37:55):
That Wisconsin.

Speaker 6 (37:56):
That was Jack horback in the corner. That's about fifty seconds.
The puff didn't move.

Speaker 5 (38:01):
In the corner with a couple of Badgers a couple
of wolverines. Back in the day, obviously we used to
blow whistles on those plays all the time.

Speaker 6 (38:10):
Nice that they don't do that anymore. It's a long
time ago, but let's keep the flow of the game going.

Speaker 2 (38:15):
All right. Important shipped here is Michigan sends out its
top line Badger's lead by two age with a puck
tried to skate it towards the slot and Horback got
in his way and PopEd it free. Jack. Now to
the bench for Simon Tassy, and we've got a whistle
and another penalty.

Speaker 9 (38:34):
And who's this song?

Speaker 2 (38:35):
Sit on Simon Tassi?

Speaker 5 (38:38):
Oh no, it was offsides? Was also the call?

Speaker 2 (38:41):
I think? Well the referee, Anthony Victor put his hand up.
Now he's putting his right hand on his chest and
almost looking like he's apologizing to his fellow officials. Mike
Hastings looks perplexed as Victor goes to the Badger bench
to explain to the Wisconsin head coach what's going on.
And now Victor will talk with Michigan's Brandon Doroto. The puck.

Speaker 6 (39:07):
It looks like they're setting out for a whistle outside
the blue line, so it's like the ref picking up
the flag in a football game.

Speaker 5 (39:13):
I'm not sure what's happening here right.

Speaker 2 (39:15):
I'm not sure either.

Speaker 6 (39:21):
It's definitely not a Pelly the face. I wouldn't be
in the neutral zone, so I don't know what just
happened exactly.

Speaker 2 (39:26):
Hey put his right arm up to indicate a penalty,
and I'm not sure why he did so, but he
owned up to his mistake, which you appreciate from the
men in stripes, and so a face off outside the
Wisconsin's own Michigan controls it and Duke will whip it
in left corner to right. Finley, a two hand shop,
can't clear, held in for a moment by Van Tilly.

(39:48):
Now Park roughed up near side by Osburn, slides it
to open ice and Finley pins it against the kick plate,
but Park comes out of there with it, and then
Osburn leans itto him and separates him from the puck.
Badger still can't clear. Fantilly Farsi twoke eight seconds ago
in the period, took down the left wing wall, his
shot deflected by Fitzgerald for seconds. Finley again tries to clear.
No luck, Park pushed against the corner wall by Dubinsky

(40:11):
as the horn sounds hey. The Wisconsin Badgers come out
strong tonight, draw a couple of penalties and scored twice
on the power play Ben Dekzheimer and Gavin Morrissey. And
after one period of play at Yo Stina, it's Wisconsin
too and fishing in nothing. Badger Hockey brought to you

Speaker 2 (43:57):
I'm oh Wisconsin leads to Michigan to do nothing in
the first intermission. Both power play goals for Wisconsin, then
Deck Seimer is first of the year at seven to eleven,
the loan assist to Gavin Morrissey, who extended his point
scoring streak to seven games, and then deck Sheimer set
up Morrissey for a power play goal for Gavin is
second of the year, second of the weekend. It came

(44:20):
at twelve fifty. Badgers with twelve shots on goal in
the opening period. Jack ivan Kovic stopped ten of them.
Michigan had nine shots on goal. Daniel Hauser stopped all
of them. Officially, Wisconsin two for three on the power play.
The one power play it didn't convert upon it was
four seconds long. Michigan went over two to one of
its power plays was four seconds long. So the Badgers

(44:43):
with a two to nothing lead after one period of play,
and with what transpired here last night when Wisconsin rallied
twice to take the lead twice and then eventually lost
seven to four, I'm not sure you can ask for
much more out of a first period.

Speaker 5 (44:57):
How last night, Wisconsin was a great first period.

Speaker 6 (44:59):
They came out down one goal somehow. This time it
was somewhat similar action, but the Badgers capitalized on a
couple of power plays. Two face off plays talked earlier
in their first power play, and Badgers were getting some
nice looks at the goal, but there was the Ivan
covid could see it clear as day. Three shots finally
got Simon Tassi in his place. Deck Seimer beat him,

(45:21):
beat the goaltender once second time it was Simon Tassi
again after the faceoff straight to the net. Gavin Marci
with the one timer from the left dot also found
the net. Badger's traffic equaled goals and Daniel Howser was
pretty good that period as well.

Speaker 5 (45:36):
Michigan had their one full power play.

Speaker 6 (45:39):
They looked really good, but Howser was up to the
task and Badgers coming out feeling pretty good.

Speaker 5 (45:43):
Up to nothing.

Speaker 2 (45:44):
Ye Wisconsin after suffering its first loss so the season
last night as a two nothing lead on second ranked Michigan.
Here during the American Family Insurance second intermission report, American
Family Insurance Ensure carefully dreamed fearlessly America and Family Insurance.
We'll check the scoreboard when we come back. This is

Speaker 4 (46:06):
Badger Hockey is brought to you by American Family Insurance,

w Health Sports Medicine, treating the Badgers, treating you each
time to drop the pot for the second period.

Speaker 2 (46:24):
The landlow here at no peren and honor of the Badgers,
Lee Michigan suit and nothing. And before we drop the
puck on the second period, let's pause ten seconds for
station identification, ten seconds for a legal ID. You're listening
to Wisconsin Badger Hockey and Dex Sheimer and Gavin Morrissey
with power play goals in the opening period has Wisconsin

(46:45):
on top. And now there's some ice maintenance being done
right now by line than Bill Hancock in the crease
to our left where Daniel Hauser will ten goal in
the second period of play. Maybe Ivan Kovic was sticking
his skates in there and trying to make the surface

(47:06):
a little bit more difficult to deal with for Daniel Hauser.
I'm just joking, of course, but the line's been working
on some ice repairs right now.

Speaker 5 (47:18):
He does have blades on his feet that he might
have been able to.

Speaker 2 (47:20):
Do that last. Oh really, yeah, okay, did not know that. Oh,
look at the ATA he does well again. A good
first period for the Wisconsin Badgers. Their power play has
been clicking now ten for twenty two over the last
six games, moving closer to forty percent. Actually fifteen out

(47:41):
of forty What quick math for me divided by five
is three out of.

Speaker 5 (47:45):
Eight thirty five seven percent? Maybe somewhere in there.

Speaker 2 (47:51):
No, I think that's over forty percent and close thirty nine.
I don't know. I'm not a math major. I wasn't
a math major. I never went to math. Just right,
let's drop the puck. Got ready to do so Morrissey
against Hughes and uh we little premature by both of them,
anxious to get this period started, while the linesman don't

(48:12):
appear to be as anxious. Now the puck is drop Skan,
Michigan has control. Dylan Duke had it, lost it now
Botterrel kicked it to the stick of Luke Osbern ducked
underneath the hit of Michael Hage and then able to
one hand it deep into the Michigan zone down right
below us. As we sit up high here at Yost Arena,

(48:34):
Luca Fan Tilly will skate out of his own end
lead feed tj Hughes bit too far in the ice
the puck. Twenty five seconds in, Badger's get an offensive
zone face off and Gavin Morrissey, who was on the
ice a moment ago, Actually we'll head to the bench
now for a line change. Oliver Tulk will come out
with Christian Fitzgerald and Quinn Finley. Then Fitzgerald, with a

(48:57):
team leading seven goals this season five on the power play.
He's in the slot right now to the left of Tulk,
who leans in. Won the draw a handcuff. Finley tied up,
goes to his knees. Horkoff knocked him down. Hughes has
it fans Off right now down the middle and he
coughed up the puck, just over handled it a little
bit too much, and Jack Falan, patient with it, finds

(49:18):
Ben deck Seimer using the net to wall off Hughes
and now the Badger's Finley left wing. Barnett backpedaling, Finley
dumps it in, Barnett carries him to the net. Fitzgerald
now finds Finley right side, immediately pressured by Josh Ernesty,
and he'll break out the molden hour right hander up
the middle of the ice. Now veer's right and Canaan
Draper was offside. Whistle stops play. Fifty seven seconds into

(49:42):
the second period. Two nothing Badgers.

Speaker 6 (49:44):
A couple of plays there at Michigan, a little too shifty.
The first one who lost the pucket stick handling over
the blue line. This time similar stick handling. It forced
his teammate Draper. It was all now with the puck.
Draper lift his foot up so he would get out
of the way, and he was going to put himself
offside doing it.

Speaker 2 (50:03):
They saw off the neutral ice, puck is free, Horbach
reaches for it. Rayome Mulling got their first. Michael Hage
now with it. The deer's right tries to get wide right,
takes it to the corner, centering pass between two Badgers,
long range shot. Now house are all balanced, the puck
was gonna go wide. Daniel back in between the crees

(50:25):
and the possession belongs to Wisconsin. Although Tyson Dick just
got rupped up near the benches. He's okay, He's back
upon his skates. Here's Blake Montgomery stick handling to the slot,
turns it, shoots it scores. Oh my goodness, Blake Montgomery.
He went right, sliced back left to the slot and
risted one past Ivankovic. Blake Montgomery three nothing Wisconsin.

Speaker 5 (50:47):
Oh my gosh.

Speaker 6 (50:48):
Last night we talked about it earlier today he keeps
going to the middle, even on the rush. This time
he earlier and tonight he went out on the outside
once and made something happen. This time he was partly
on the outside cutbacks in the middle. Looked like he
was about the Lewis control that got it back and
just ripped it across the cross his body farce or
the glove side of the goaltender against the green is

(51:09):
what I was trying to say.

Speaker 5 (51:10):
And what a play by Blake on Montgomery.

Speaker 2 (51:13):
Blake Montgomery, goodness. Fifth goal in four games for Montgomery.
He had three against Well Ye had no four gold
Let's see. Fifth goal in five games for Blake Montgomery.
I told you I can't do math. Sorry about that.
He scored in the Alaska game when he went right
down the middle of all the Polar Bears, and then

(51:34):
scored three times against Minnesota. Blank last night was minus three.
Struggled a bit, but he has the ability to score.
You keep guys like that in your lineup. And here
he likes the lamp to make it three to nothing.
At one twenty four of the second period. He can do.

Speaker 5 (51:46):
Matthew counted one, two, three, three nothing.

Speaker 2 (51:49):
Here's Tassy turnaround shot and knees saved by Ivan. Covid
goes to the corner, deering now placed it back behind
the net. McKinney over skates and deering Tassy with it
now deering open, shoots on high to the glove side
of Ivan Kovic pushed back deep by the Badgers. E
John goes down. Shifsky misplays loose puck picked up by
Drew Shock left handed defenseman up the middle of the

(52:11):
ice is past too hot to handle for McKinney. His
stick was lifted. Morrisey took the puck away, tried to
headman to eat John, but a bit too much on
it and ice the puck. Seventeen forty three to go
in the second it's three to nothing. Wisconsin. Montgomery from
Zach Schulz adds one twenty four.

Speaker 5 (52:31):
And another Michigan player getting on the square sheet for
the weekend.

Speaker 2 (52:34):
I'm sure his family is happy. He's got twenty plus
members of family and friends here, you know, and when
you come to Yost Arena, if there are Wisconsin fans here,
you see them because the red stands out in the
maze and blue and a lot of them are at
center ice up above the Wisconsin bench across the way.
Wisconsin wins the defensive zone, face off, Tassie able to

(52:56):
muscle it out to center. Now Matthew Mania with it,
Nia Mania walk back in the Wisconsin z own Osburn
immediately for checked by Paran. Coughed it up for a moment,
but battles back with help from Morris's able to get
it far side. Good work by Bottrell to chip it
ahead to Tassy trying to get around Dylan Duke. No

(53:17):
lock there, Duke now with us. He turns left, long
lead feed for Puran. It goes length of the ice
on goal. Houser had to stop it and cover seventeen
oh six to go. Second period, the Badgers with a
three to nothing lead. Badger fans, if you're listening to
this right now, it's time for a reward. Reward yourself,
Reward your full time fandom with an ice cold modelo

(53:40):
Modello brewed for full time Badger fans.

Speaker 5 (53:45):
Early second period. Here the way Michigan scores.

Speaker 6 (53:48):
You know, uh, this game is a long way from
going for being over. Oh yeah, trying to stretch past
the last time. We're going to open things up more
than usual or more than they already do.

Speaker 2 (54:00):
Wsconsin face off win. They send it deep into the
Michigan zone. Will Horkoff, though possess it, tried to bank
it out, held in by talk nice place slot pass.
Here's Finley stepping in shooting and missed it gloves side
just wide on the near post. Finley tried to retrieve,
put it towards the middle of the ice. Badger's able
to hold. Now Fitzgerald off his stick behind the cage.

(54:20):
Fan Tilly walled off Finley, and now Michigan will chop
it out to center. Caught by Hage nicely. Hage off
to his left, wants to drop it off to Hughes.
He stick candles with it. Two Badgers immediately on him.
Shot long range shot that went off the stick of
deck Sheimer, who's first of the puck on the far wall,
be able to get it out to center. Three nothing,
Wisconsin sixteen twenty to go. Second period. The puck back

(54:43):
in the Michigan zone. D to d goes Barnett to
shock up the middle, Hughes all by himself shoot Dan
Houser got his glove on it. It went wide, then
probable to do so. Long range blast by Barnett that
missed the net. Rayel Mullin down the wall, put it
behind the cage. Wisconsin to get it. Dick took a hit,
passed it off to Hensler, up ahead to Findley, lobs

(55:05):
it for Piedla trying to settle the bouncing Pucket's loosen
the slot and placed back out at center and then
shipped by Montgomery into the Michigan zone. But the Badgers
were off side. Now they've touched up. Everything's cool. Michigan
now controls three I think Wisconsin fifteen thirty five to go.
Second period. Here's Draper off to his right across the line.
Forced why kicksafe Howser rebound behind the net. Penalty coming

(55:28):
up as Draper just went right into Daniel Hauser. May
not have been Draper, it's not. It's one of his linemates,
but he just clabbert. Hauser went right into the Badger
netminder and the goal came off both pegs and Howser's
down on all fours and very slow to get up,
and trainer Andy Roady is gonna come out and take

(55:48):
a look at the Badger's netminder who remains on his knees.
Penalty on Rayo Mullen for at least goalie interference, and
again Howser remains down. Eli Pulver, the only other goaltender
in uniform tonight, is getting ready just in case.

Speaker 6 (56:08):
It looked like it looked like it wasn't going to
be that much contact, but I think might have been
a little extra with the arms into Daniel Hauser on
the play by the Michigan defenseman Rae Mullen. I'm watching
a refai from behind.

Speaker 2 (56:26):
They're going to review this for a potential major penalty
on Rayoe Mullen.

Speaker 6 (56:30):
He kind of gave a little forearm or arm shivered
the head of Daniel Hawser on that play. It looked
like as he went into the goaltender taking advantage of
his positioning. It was a Badger that kind of helped
him in a little bit, but that was definitely finished
off a little extra by the Wolverine. At least it
looked like from some of the angles they've shown.

Speaker 2 (56:53):
Yeah, I'm not sure he really tried too hard to
stop the fans booing. They can see them overhead camera
angle of the collision. And Tyson Dick, while he's a
nice young man, is nowhere near the strength of Dakota

(57:14):
Rayom Mullen. And there was a little bit of contact,
but it appeared to me, and again I'm trying to
be unbiased, it appeared to me it was more of
Rayo Mullin's doing and nothing to do with Tyson Dick.
They give him a two minute minor for goalie interference.
Badgers get a cuenest power play, leading three to nothing

(57:36):
here early second period. The Badgers have.

Speaker 6 (57:40):
Been deadly so far tonight on this so we'll see
if they can add to the three goal Eadier. We
want to get greedy because again Michigan can score in bunches.

Speaker 2 (57:49):
Yep, you never have enough against the Wolverines. Face off
still loose in the Michigan zone and cleared out by
Draper off the body of Dex Shimer. He'll hustle back
after Rio mullen interference at four thirty. Fourth power player
in the night for the Badgers. They're two for three.
Here's Finley flying in left wing backside, Fitzgerald sets and

(58:11):
fires block by Duke. Oh nice pass by Finley. Lookout shorthanded,
here comes Michigan. They've got five shorties. Fentilly fines Earnesty.
Oh my goodness, howser with a stop rebound though fan
Tilly put it in a six shorthander of the year
for the Wolverine to finally get on the board during
a Wisconsin power play.

Speaker 6 (58:33):
Yeah, Wisconsin, uh won I say, lack of days ago,
but a loose puck in the offensive zone after a
shot block kind of saw it there. I didn't expect
the Michigan player to go as hard as he did
to get up and get it. It was Fantilly that
started the rush. He grabbed the puck and he scores
on the rebound after a heck of us saved by

(58:53):
Daniel Hawser the first play, and Badgers give one here
up against were handed and still have a lot of
time here.

Speaker 2 (59:03):
Try to get one though Fantilly from Earnesty at four
point fifty nine, the defenseman Luca fan Tilly's second goal
this season, again a shorthander. It's three to one now
Badger's on the attack on the power play. Tulks past
to the point, deflected Michigan three wide, three on two
the other way again, here comes Shipsky pass to Robertson

(59:24):
off his stick, crawls to Howser, tries to cover. Finally
the whistle blows, wow, who's on the power play?

Speaker 6 (59:33):
Right man rush for Michigan again on that one three
on two, So a little bit more numbers back for
Wisconsin and fuck ends up getting loose and rolling on
Daniel Hauser and another pile up at the net.

Speaker 5 (59:47):
So the Badgers will.

Speaker 6 (59:50):
Try to reset here at can this crowd down right
the goal would help that for sure, to kind of
stop the momentum here Michigan's getting on this Pelly kill
just green.

Speaker 2 (59:59):
Game in control somehow, all this sudden Michigan with some
extra jump short handed again Fan Tilly from Arnesty at
four fifty nine. Wisconsin still leads three to one. Second
period Finley, here's Fitzgerald stepping in down low right. Finley catches, looks, Fitzgerald,
we'll sweep it out to the point in deck Seimer

(01:00:21):
left wing. Now Morrissey near the hash marks. Morrissey's stick
handling below the goal line. He goes he'll bank it
out to the right wing in Finley immediately on him
as Arnesty passed by Finley to the point in deck.
Seimer steps in shot, block went off, the body of
Fitzgerald held in by the Badgers. Borise has it top
of the left ring. Thirty seconds left on the power play,
passed back out to deck. Sheimer pressured, finds Finley now

(01:00:42):
right circle. Finley pass open, Fitzgerald looking Morrissey backdoor pass
Tassy cutt into the middle. That pass deflected Borise's got
it back fifteen on the power play, Tassy setting up Fitzgerald,
he shut it ay beautiful pass by Tassy point pass
now deck Sheimer right ring looking for Finley. Now Quinn's
got it head up, looks at the net, shoots one block,

(01:01:02):
bite draper loosen the slot still loose, chopped that held
in by Finley. Power plays expired, passed by Finley for
Tassy behind the net, Tassi in front. Fitzgerald had it
on his stick right outside the crease but just couldn't
pull the trigger and Michigan able to force it out
to center. Badrew's unable to convert on that power play
out two for four on the man advantage. It's a

(01:01:25):
three to one, Wisconsin lead thirteen ten to go. Second period,
wourkoff with a puck double teamed and lost it four
back now on the rush right wing looking shooting love
save by the kneeling ivan Kovic that he hangs on
with thirteen oh one left on the clock, Drink was
going hard to the net looking for the rebound, got
wiped out. No harm, no foul in a face off

(01:01:47):
inside the Michigan.

Speaker 6 (01:01:48):
Zone that started tough for the power play obviously Michigan
with a two on one shorthanded goal and another chance
three on two.

Speaker 5 (01:01:56):
I just got some looks after that question.

Speaker 6 (01:01:58):
Fitzhered a couple especialtually missed the net on one right
at the right after in fre Thenet didn't get stick
on it either. But uh, this will be a key
point to see what happens here with the momentum in
Michigan's favor.

Speaker 2 (01:02:12):
Right now, Dick Montgomery e John out there a nice
hold by Osbourne, but pressured now Drew Shock has it
d to d to Fan Tilly long lead feed it
was not was deflected by Hughes no icing Badgers though
have the puck. Nice breakout Dubinsky to eat John bad
passed by the freshman, though in Wisconsin regain's possession up ahead.
Montgomery nifty catch, beautiful spin move works to the left wing.

(01:02:36):
Show it's one. Oh, he almost snuffed that past ivan Kovic.
Want to move by Blake Montgomery.

Speaker 5 (01:02:41):
He used his body to shield off a defender too.

Speaker 2 (01:02:43):
Here's Osbourne now open.

Speaker 5 (01:02:45):
Man to Bedski.

Speaker 2 (01:02:46):
Stars had Dubinsky with a blast in the slot. Badgers
get one package for one.

Speaker 6 (01:02:52):
Devinsky was snuck in from the blue line. Was a
perfect place in the slot. Great vision buy his teammate.
Just a shot over the glove of the goal turner.
Ivan Kovik and the Batteries get that three goal lead back.
Big goal by Wisconsin right the hash mark again the
defenseman just unattended right in the slot.

Speaker 2 (01:03:14):
Great shot Aiden Dubinsky. His first goal is a Badger.
It comes at the seven point thirty four mark of
the second period. Wisconsin ree gains that three goal lead. Wow.
It started with a play by Montgomery, who used his

(01:03:36):
speed his skating ability to get free, and then the
Badgers had possession of the offensive zone. Passed from the
right wing to the slot in Dubinski, who buried it.
A four to one Wisconsin advantage. Ivan Kovic remains in
goal for the Mazon Blue. Here's Rayo Mullen now for
Michigan up the near boards by the scorers table. Takes
a hit from Hensler, dumps it in shoals after it

(01:03:59):
four was a hard rim around off the stick of Brink,
still loose, gathered in by Deering. He's pushed to the
Michigan bench. Stick battle ensues. Farsie still free, Deering has it,
rolls it across the Michigan line. Badgers will get a
change with eleven thirty nine to go in the second
buck to flex into the Wisconsin's own. Henzler goes to

(01:04:20):
get it, bumps it off for Falan. Now Falan right
back to Hensler up the near boards to Finley across
the line harder than that talk backside open Fitzgerald in
front Old Tunk. That pass for Tunk just a bit
too far, went off the pad of the goaltender Ivan Kovic,
but the Badgers have possession. Finley out high right, his
shotter pass deflex to the corner. Dexheimer goes to get it,

(01:04:42):
leaves it down to the corner. Now Tulk, his past
midair batted down by Finley and we play on buck
crawled out to center. Badgers have to touch up they
will eleven minutes to go in the second period for one.
Wisconsin lead feed Shipsky pivots to hold the puck. Valentini
dumps it in, Osburn first to it, veers to his right,

(01:05:02):
thanks it out towards center and across the line. Delayed
offside called on the Michigan Wolverines time out on the
ice with ten fifty one to go in the second period.

(01:05:25):

Speaker 2 (01:06:23):
Ride well the chemroxide he saw off a neutral ice
with ten fifty one to go here in the second
period of play. Wisconsin leeds Michigan four to one. Wolverines
seven to four winners last night, so Wisconsin trying to

(01:06:44):
split this Big Ten series and get to three and
one in league play. Ivan Kovic remains in goal for Michigan,
although he's given up four goals on sixteen shots. Barnett
with a puck in his own sauces across for shock
up the middle. Now to Draper. Draper stick, candles can't

(01:07:05):
get around. Osburn drops it off Ernesty. He had a
long range shot kicked out by Hawser, rebound to the
left circle Inhauser. Stop that shot by Shock too. Shock
now walks the line off balance, shot off a stick
high glass. Now right side shot stop by Howser. That
off the stick of the defenseman. Barnetts Howser with three
saves in that sequence. Puck lucid center ice and now

(01:07:26):
a collision. Two badgers go down, loose puck picked up
by Osbourn playing keep away from moldenaur and up to
neutral ice and then it's lifted up and into the
children of Yost had a souvenir ten twelve to go.
Second period four to one Wisconsin deck Sheimer and Morrissey
first period power play goals, Montgomery and Dukebinsky's second period

(01:07:46):
even strength goals.

Speaker 6 (01:07:49):
A burst of shots there by the Wolverines, a couple
of easy saves and line that was a good read
by Hawser. The big rebound to his right, got over
across and again had clear vision of this shot and
made a good.

Speaker 2 (01:08:02):
Save Dubinski from Osburn and they say Bruno E John
that's seven thirty four again this is subject to change. Dubinski,
we know, bought it his first as a Badger. Fucking
scythey Wisconsin zone, Schuals battling for it. Horkkough finds himself
with it right circle and he can score. But that

(01:08:24):
shot not much on it, kind of fluttered towards Howser,
who made a relatively easy save and then covered.

Speaker 6 (01:08:31):
I just closed himself up, got out above the crease
and I think that I made the say. It looked
like the puck maybe dropped in between his pads. He
didn't move there, got the whistle based off to the
left of Houser. Badgers win it. Nice job by Morrissey
Schulz Dehnzler banked ahead too far. But a foot race
now bottlerel Fan Tilly that'll be won by the Michigan

(01:08:52):
defender in Wisconsin's ice the puck.

Speaker 2 (01:08:54):
Yeah. Will Horkoff, Pittsburgh Penguin's first round pick last year,
twenty fourth overall from Imingham, Michigan, eleven goals this season
to share the national lead with Penn State's JJ Wee Bush.
He's got six goals and ten points in his last
six games, and he's a thirty percent shooter. That's pretty
good in hockey. If you can get fifteen percent, that's good.

(01:09:18):
Thirty percent shooters so far on the early going, that's
pretty crazy high. Here's Warkoff with it right wing, met
by Pensler, who pushed him into the wall back towards
Warkoff bounces over the stick of Van Tilly and out
to center. So Michigan has to touch up and does,
and the puck belongs to Wisconsin. Moderlate neutral ice with

(01:09:39):
speed picked up by Hensler across the line, back pedaling Duke.
Now he has a move and n Hitzler went short
side off the shoulder of Ivankovic and out of play.
There was a little bit of space there, Paul, there.

Speaker 6 (01:09:51):
Was good play by Hensler with speed up the right wing,
got around, gave himself a little bit of a shooting
position around the and again that spot short side that
is so hard to hit. We've seen people hit recent
years all over the place. And uh, the arm, unfortunately

(01:10:11):
for Hensler, was in the way.

Speaker 2 (01:10:14):
Deering face off won by the badger's brink. Patient with
a puck finds an open man far side the bouncing
pass Feelan just has to send it behind the net.
Deering cut off by Piran, but fights through it out
to the point. Deck Seimer off the corner wall to
the far side, Feylan pinches in, keeps it alive in
the attacking zone, and Piela in pursuits and now it's

(01:10:34):
out towards the line and knocked off a stick or
two out of play. Nine on nine to go here
in the second period, Badgers lead four to one. UW
Health Sports Medicine, the healthcare team for the Badgers and
proud partner of UW athletics.

Speaker 5 (01:10:53):
Matters.

Speaker 6 (01:10:54):
Fourth Lione was out there for a short time, got
a change at the piedla on the way to the bench,
might have knocked into uh perone.

Speaker 5 (01:11:03):
I think it was for Michigan.

Speaker 2 (01:11:05):
Fase off one by Michigan. Spence on the attack, but
dex Sheimer stays with him, muscles up the freshman and
won the puck away. But now it's back behind the
Wisconsin nets. They'll bump it out to the point. Robertson
long range shot knocked down by Oliver Tulk who gets
it pass off the wall, intended for Finley too far.
Michigan sends it deep again. Dexheimer wanted to go right

(01:11:26):
instead comes back left finling down the boards, trying to
help his teammates, and now dex Sheimer, with plenty of
time and space behind the nets, surveys and brings it
to Fhalan eight and a half minutes to go, second period,
Jack skating with it, seems uncertain.

Speaker 15 (01:11:42):
What to do.

Speaker 2 (01:11:43):
E John though, finds Tulk right wing open, steps in
any fan at the shot, lifted up his head and
fan on it, but he's got it back passed to
an open man out high Osburn. He has to veer right,
cuts back left and looks turn around shot and kneeling
catching it was Ivan Kobc and a base off to
come with eight fourteen second period for one Wisconsin.

Speaker 6 (01:12:03):
We've only gotten a little taste here. Oliver Tulk so
far this early season. Put a nice some vision there
with a backhand passed to the top of the zone
and his teammate at the blue line three some traffic.
He's gonna be a fun player to watch for a
long time for Wisconsin.

Speaker 2 (01:12:20):
Been playing center so far this season. Mike Hastings is
toyed with the idea of putting Tulk on the wall
at some point the Badgers win the offensive zone face off,
Tyson Dick battling for it, so is Osbourne. It trickles
out to center, still lose. Osburn has it on his stick,
tries to come down the boards, shot cuts him off,
takes the buck away, gave it right back to him.

(01:12:41):
Osborne open finds a man straight away shot by Dubinski.
Saint made by Ivan Kovic Aiden getting hungry, he wants
another out to the left point. It slowly moves to
bnsk able to put it to the corner. It eludes Montgomery,
who checks Barnett against the end boards. Horbock there for support.
Buck's still loose in the corner. McKinney's got it, shovels
it all off now to Barnett, who got hit a

(01:13:02):
little bit by Hornbock. He's struggling to clear and a
bad pass picked off by Osburn low right looking Osburn
at the dot, back pedal shoots and that's blocked by
McKinney to the near wall and then spun a round
back behind the net. Badgers will change seven twenty four
to go in the second, four to one Wisconsin shots
on goal. Even bad pass picked off Morrissey drop pass,
Fitzgerald can't reach it, hook toward the blue line. Tassy

(01:13:25):
with it, his shot blocked by shock. Ernesty now with it.
They come back three on two, but Fitzgerald hustling back
to even the numbers. Ernesty now with it. Michigan too
many men on the ice, but we play on. Schifsky
now turns and fires it around to the left corner.
Morrissey working for it. Shoals will skate after it to
the far boards. Mania out to mold an Hour. His

(01:13:47):
long range shot goes off a body behind the net,
wrap around a tip. Howser kept that out and now
Draper with it pass to the right circle. Morrissey defending
molden Hour. Those battle Pnzler put his body into a man,
but Duke's got the puck. Now left wing pressured by Tassy,
still loose in the Wisconsin zone to the point Draper

(01:14:09):
thought about shooting instead past his right side. Mania's shot
blocked by a sprawled out Fitzgerald to get stick taps
from the badger's bench. Long shift for these five skaters
for Wisconsin, Morrisey, Tassy, Fitzgerald, Scholz and Henzler. Here's Mania
in front, turn around shot and hate scores. They wash
it out. They wash it out. Houser lost his stick

(01:14:31):
and went tumbling to his right to try to stop
that shot, but he must have been knocked off balanced
or was interfered with somehow. Immediately the referee, Anthony Victor
said no goal, no goal. They wash it out and
Brandon Nurrado standing there with a blank look on his face.

(01:14:53):
Now he comes down to the dasher and wants a
conversation with a big ten referee. So Draper trying to
fright through the defenseman in front, and then I'm not
sure if that's the right call or not.

Speaker 6 (01:15:08):
It looks like Draper's foot hit a caught up a
little bit with Hawser's right foot, and Howser ended up spinning.

Speaker 2 (01:15:15):
I'm sorry, no, no, no, that's you go ahead.

Speaker 6 (01:15:18):
And uh I mean they showed the overhead you see
their feet connect. They looked pretty light. I don't know
like Howser did a spin. You can't You can't imagine
a goaltender would embellish a play like that with the
gulp pucker right there.

Speaker 2 (01:15:32):
No you no, you that that's the wrong position to
be embellishing. There was some contact, I mean shoals slowed Draper.
There was Draper was in the crease. He did get
Houser's right foot, and then Daniel dropped his stick. That
is a bit of embellishment, it appears, but immediately the referee,
Anthony Victor washed it out. Brandon Narnto, the head coach,

(01:15:53):
talking with his assistant coaches. Do they want to take
a look at review or are we going to play
on fans? Obviously you can hear it. Don't like it much.
And Doronto's still talking with his assistant, and now he's
trying to get the attention of referee Barry Pakmara. And
again Doronto down to the dasher to talk with Punkmara

(01:16:17):
and rather animated in doing so. And there's a hefty
Michigan fan above the Michigan bench indicating that Houser took
a dive. And now Punkmara and Victor are going to
take a look at video replay. Wow, that took them
an awfully long time to decide. They're going to take

(01:16:38):
a look at video to determine whether or not that
goal should counter or not.

Speaker 6 (01:16:46):
You see the Michigan player comes out from behind the net.
Shols is there. He doesn't knock him in at all,
He just kind of is in the way.

Speaker 2 (01:16:53):
He's blocking him out basically.

Speaker 6 (01:16:54):
Basically, and he wasn't even in the blue paint anyway.
Drapery catches his foot on Howser's leg. I mean, that's
in it that you hit the goaltender in the crease
right before a shot and you wave it off right away.

Speaker 5 (01:17:10):
It's hard to say that to make that a goal.

Speaker 2 (01:17:12):
I agree. I agree.

Speaker 5 (01:17:14):
If Howser embellished a little bit, it's possible. But their
feet are caught up.

Speaker 6 (01:17:22):
Howser's kind of caught on as he tries to I
don't know what he was trying to do exactly, if
that caused them to spin out, or if.

Speaker 5 (01:17:30):
He was trying to get in a position for the
shot and he was.

Speaker 2 (01:17:33):
Trying to move right and draper was in his way,
and it looked like the scape blades actually connected somehow,
and Howser was losing his balance. But then when he
went tumbling to his right, what are those called in
gymnastics or swimming where you're spinning perpendicularly no goal. They

(01:17:59):
read no goal. Michigan loses its time out and a
hat throne on the ice. There's no reason for that.

Speaker 6 (01:18:12):
He adds a little more flavored of the game here.
Oh yeah, let's see what happens now. Michigan player is
led by their coach. Probably a little angry. Now, certainly
the fans are.

Speaker 5 (01:18:27):
We'll see how both teams react to this.

Speaker 2 (01:18:29):
Second ranked team in the country on home ice, trailing
tenth rank Wisconsin four to one. Now warning on TJ. Hughes,
as we did set to drop the puck four to one,
Wisconsin six point fifteen left in the second, they'll kick
Hughes out of the face off area age against Tulk.

(01:18:49):
Now again, this game long from over twenty six minutes
and fifteen seconds left in at Badgers won the draw.
Pushed into the offensive zone by Horbach, Rail Mullen reversus
course fan Tilly. Two men collide. Here's a pass from
Tulk to the middle of the ice. It went off Findley.
You couldn't locate it. Torbock did and sends it to
the corner. Now cycles for talk to Finley in a

(01:19:12):
right shoulder saved by Ivan Kovic. Talk after it retrieves,
passed to Horback wasn't ready for it, taken away by
Michigan lead feed fan Tilly goes down. Fans won another penalty.
Badgers then ice the puck accidentally he had a face
off down on the Wisconsin zone with five point forty
four to go in the second period.

Speaker 5 (01:19:29):
An interesting line they just have out there right now.

Speaker 6 (01:19:33):
They put Jack Horback out there at Tulki and Finley.
They were looking for our third winger or a third forward.
While all that was going on and code chase things
pointed to Jack Horback. I think he didn't believe him
at first, and then he jumped over there when he
told him.

Speaker 2 (01:19:47):
Again, base off the Housers left. He stopped nineteen of
twenty Michigan shots so far. Here tonight, Wisconsin wins the draw,
sends it out to center, Michigan takes it from there.
Hayden Park, the former Green Bay gambler offside called on
Michigan everything. Every whistle that's blown from here on out

(01:20:09):
will receive booze from the crowd. Here at Yost Arena,
five thirty three to go, second period, we have a
timeout on the ice and Wisconsin leeds Michigan four to one.
Back in a minute. This is Badger hockey from Learfield.

second period neutral zone face off deering Brink and Piela
on the ice Mike Hasting's fourth line tonight or a
portion of it. Piedla is the extra skater here this evening,
and up with Brink and deering for the time being.
Puck slies to center Spence with it now right pass
caught by Ernesty, trailing Shock put it towards the slot,

(01:22:03):
knocked away by Dubinski and actually went on goal and
Hauser had to suffocate that thing. And now Park going
at it with Finn Brink. They I'm sure we're combatants
at some point in the USAHL last year. Everything's all
calmed down and a face off coming up inside the

(01:22:23):
Wisconsin zone.

Speaker 6 (01:22:26):
You've seen a lot of play around Daniel Hauser and I.
First period he got hit, blunts down it right in
front of us. Second period, he got hit another time
earlier that was called a penalty, and then this last
time with the disallowed goal, and right here the puck
kind of bounced on him and some more hijinks right

(01:22:46):
in front of him.

Speaker 2 (01:22:48):
Face off to Houser's right, Morrissey digs in and wins
it to the corner in Hensler up off the boards,
held in by Duke, dropped it to the ice, Morrissey
over skates, passed by Kinny, intended for Shifsky, broken up
and taken back, and a shot by Valentini on goal,
and then rather easy save for Daniel Howser who was

(01:23:10):
on top of the grease and made the stop. Daniel
now with twenty one saves here this evening.

Speaker 6 (01:23:18):
How their attempt at an aeriel clear by Wisconsin at
Cossam months yesterday that time picked off again for a
shot this time, how is there there for the save?

Speaker 2 (01:23:30):
Michigan changes things up. Barnett and Rayo mullin out now Valentini,
Shifsky and McKinney for the mazing Blue Oliver Tulk will
take the draw. Valentini kicked out, McKinny will step in.
Five minutes left, second period, four to one Badgers. Tulk
wins it to the corner. Henzler looks to his right

(01:23:52):
and leaves it back now to Shoals, who skates open
ice to their Badger's line to the red line, bumps
it to the Michigan line and finley direct it in
the Barnett their first Horbock immediately converged upon him, but
Barnett skates past him. Now Valentini tried to get it deep.
Quickly after it Barnett Backhand's pass intended for this slot
broken up. And then Horback took an elbow to the

(01:24:13):
head an incidental contact. And then Wisconsin's is a Zach
Schulz down there tackling one of the wolverines. Horback got
hit in the head. It looked like incidental contact. And then,
oh my goodness, the Michigan wolverine without his helmet. That
Shifsky pounding the badger who's down on the ice who

(01:24:34):
lost his helmet too, and that's Logan Hensler. And then
Shipsky shoved Hauser. The referees need to get control of
this thing. Shifsky lost his helmet, and Hensler was down
on the ice and he was popping him in his
Hensler's head was bobbing back and forth. Logan appears to

(01:24:55):
be fine. He heads to the penalty box, putting his
helmet back on his head. He looks into the Michigan
penalty box, but Logan is a man of few words,
doesn't say anything and just goes and takes a seat.
They're gonna match him up for the referees again. Pacmara
and Victor need to settle these young men down a
little bit.

Speaker 6 (01:25:14):
This will be interesting because I think the original penalty
might have been on Wisconsin for the tackle.

Speaker 5 (01:25:20):
Next to the behind the goal to the right of Hauser.
But also, as you.

Speaker 6 (01:25:25):
Mentioned, Corbac got hit pretty good, and I'm not sure
from here, we're kind of far down the other side
of the ICE's kind of hard to tell what happened
to him exactly.

Speaker 2 (01:25:34):
Referees talking and are they gonna look at video again?
Oh my goodness, it's the fourth time tonight they're going
to video replay. Four point thirty four to go, second period,
Wisconsin with a four to one lead.

Speaker 5 (01:25:50):
I just saw replay of Barnett hitting corback.

Speaker 6 (01:25:56):
It looked like it might be a headshot from behind
the behind the net who's and still has its time out,
by the way, just a pretty sip of play behind
the net. Horbock's kind of down trying to play the puck,
and he got hit pretty good in the head, it
looked like. So this will be really interesting to see

(01:26:18):
what the pelly is or what all the calls are
really and he gets a shot also while he's down
on the back.

Speaker 5 (01:26:24):
That is a cross check to.

Speaker 2 (01:26:26):
The back that was from Shifsky, so Barnett ran into him,
and again I thought it was incidental because he had
a badger on him. But then Horback went down and
for whatever reason, Shifsky just cross checked him in the
upper part of the back. And then that's when Hensler
came and tackled Shifskey. I mean you could, I suppose
you could get Barnett for a head contact. I think

(01:26:49):
Shifsky's the one that's gonna get I mean, he should
be kicked out of the game for something like this.
That is just a dirty play. With Horbock unable to
defend himself to dirty.

Speaker 6 (01:27:00):
Play, that's when Hensler comes in and takes Karashisky, gets
them out of there, pulls them right down to the eynd. Yeah,
and then that's again that's when Hensler ended up getting
jackhammered a little bit from Kenny after the helmet came off.
I think it kind of might have pulled the helmet
off because I'm not sure how it came off. A

(01:27:23):
couple of guys without helmets. So this is gonna they
might take a little while on this one and see
what they're gonna get out of all this.

Speaker 2 (01:27:30):
Wow. Score is four to one Wisconsin, four point thirty
four to go, second period of play. The puck is
laying at center eyes, both teams at their respected benches,
the linesman, one with their arms crossed, another with the
arms behind their back, looking across the eyes at the
scorer's table, where Anthony Victor and Barry Pakmara continue to

(01:27:52):
look at video and discuss what they just saw with
their own eyes. And that's what makes video replay difficult
as well, because you just witnessed the play a moment ago,
and either you don't trust your eyesight or your own instincts,
and you have to go back and take another look

(01:28:14):
at it for four or five six minutes.

Speaker 6 (01:28:16):
The problem is there is so much happening on that
one it's hard to keep track of what just happened
if you're the referees on the ice.

Speaker 5 (01:28:23):
And Shifsky is the one that got obviously pretty angry there.

Speaker 6 (01:28:26):
I don't know if he was the one that got
taken down by Hensler, and I don't know that's what
he was reacting when he was trying to got Henslaer
a few times and his helmet came off earlier.

Speaker 2 (01:28:35):
But it was Shifsky who Shipsky's done, Shifsky got two
minutes for cross checking and then a five minute major
for grasping the face mask.

Speaker 1 (01:28:56):
He does not like it.

Speaker 2 (01:28:57):
He heads to the Michigan locker room, hence get to
a two minute minor for rupping. Wisconsin gets a five
minute power play out of it.

Speaker 5 (01:29:04):
So they caught him.

Speaker 6 (01:29:05):
They caught the cross check yep by Shifsky on Horrbock.
They didn't call anything on the contact of the head
of Horbach, but I mentioned Shifsky. It looked like it
was the one. It looked like he grabbed Hensler's helmet
and pulled it off. It looked from when he was
held trying to separate by the linesman, and it looked
I'm assuming that's where the call was for the face mask.

(01:29:29):
So after all that, the Batters end up with a
five minute major power.

Speaker 2 (01:29:32):
Play and.

Speaker 5 (01:29:35):
We'll see what happens now.

Speaker 6 (01:29:36):
The last time Batterers around the power play, Michigan got
temporarily back in the game and got a shorthanded goal
made it a three to one game. Wisconsin responded on
that one shortly after and got its three goal lead back.

Speaker 2 (01:29:49):
Shifsky, one of their better penalty killers, though done for
the night, so the time of the penalties fifteen to
twenty six, again Shifsky cross checking Henzler for roughing, and
then a five. I've been at major on Shifsky for
grabbing a face mask at fifteen twenty six. Wisconstant two
for four on the power play, jumped out to it
two to nothing first periodly because of a pair of

(01:30:10):
power play goals based off inside the Michigan zone to
the right of Ivan Kovic, Morrissey and Draper. Linesman fake
like he was gonna drop the puck, and how he does,
and the Badgers win the face off. Dex Sheimer at
the blue line works back left wing, Morrissey stick candling,
pressured by Draper to the corner, open Man Fitzgerald right
wing Finley, his shot blocked by Duke and chipped out

(01:30:32):
of Harm's way. Fitzgerald was open, Finley was as well.
This is where you'd kind of like to see the
guys just get greedy, right shoot the puck. Morrissey sends
it to the corner first man to a Tassy catches
out to the point Fitzgerald holds pressured, throws it back
to the corner in Tassi swings it around to the
left side and Morrissey. Morrissey to Fitzgerald. Finley now right circle,

(01:30:53):
pressured a bit by Duke open, Morrissey looking oh backside
Tassy down on one. He got a stick th go
it just couldn't direct it on goal. Morrissey again right wing,
pass off of sticks settled by Finley, point past dex Sheimer.
Left wing. Morrissey sets in fires blocked again by Michigan
with it ernesty got tripped up. No penalty. They try
to clear, cannot Fitzgerald holds Finley blast that's blocked by Duke.

(01:31:16):
He goes down like a sack of potatoes. Finley again
with it out to the point. Now dex Sheimer whooking.
Morrisey with it left wing topol can't shoot. What's he
gonna do? He gets it to Fitzgerald drops back. Dex
Shimer shoots one, missed the net on the blockers side.
They whip it around Finley good hold. Power play continues
for three forty five. Badgers lead four to one. Late
second period, Finley with it outside the circle, down to

(01:31:39):
the goal line. Tassie walks behind the net, Center's one.
Fitzgerald not ready for it, comes off of skate ernesty
will shovel it down.

Speaker 6 (01:31:48):
It was one of those that was building for Wisconsin.
A couple of block shots by Michigan players, both of
them in a world are hurt for there for a
little while. They see him to recover after because it
was pretty much there's a lot of time between plays.

Speaker 2 (01:32:00):
Broken stick in the middle of the Michigan zone, right
in the slot, Badger's with a puck out high right.
Tulk got squashed by Moldenauer. Badger's able to hold the zone.
Osburn He's on side booking shooting block shot that hit
McKinney in the mid section. Loose puck picked up by
Barnett and a whistle stops play as the Michigan defender
is down and appears to be injured. And that's actually

(01:32:23):
a break, I think for Wisconsin because Michigan picked up
the loose puck and was headed to our left. It
looked like that shot McKinney took was in a bad
spot right in the mid section, and he's on all
fours in the Wolverine zone. Two forty to go in
the second, three to zero six remaining on Wisconsin's major
power play. It's four to one Badger and.

Speaker 6 (01:32:44):
That's three block shots by Michigan. All this power play,
their players have gone down. The other two were covered
while play was going on. Although it didn't it took
him a little while. That's why McKinney finally gets off
the ice to some applause from the fans.

Speaker 2 (01:33:04):
Old McKinney freshman from Lake Forest, Illinois, projected to be
a pretty high draft pick next year. He looks like
he's going to walk behind the Michigan bench and try
to shake this off a little bit, face off to
the right of Ivan Kovic, Morrissey, Tassy Fitzgerald, Finley, and
Deck Sheimer. That break allowed the Badger's top power play

(01:33:24):
unit to catch their breath a little bit. Now the
linesman kicks Morrissey out, Fitzgerald will step in against TJ. Hughes,
their best face off man use it about fifty eight percent.
Wisconsin wins the draw. Morrissey stick candles point, Deck Shimer
walks in Finley right wing. Immediately they come out on him.
Finley has not had a place to shoot. Now, a
shot past if Fitzgerald tried to redirect it on goal

(01:33:47):
went off the Wolverine and then Michigan clears.

Speaker 6 (01:33:51):
I I've tried that a couple of times on this
power play with us just a stick as like a backboard,
try to.

Speaker 5 (01:33:55):
Bank it in. I saw Tassie earlier behind everybody.

Speaker 2 (01:33:58):
Fitzgerald cutting in partial breaky scores. Christian Fitzgerald blue pass
Barnett down the middle, deeked out the goaltender and potted it.
Wisconsin with a powerplay goal up five to one.

Speaker 6 (01:34:11):
What a pass, you know, if you get into such
a rhythm on the power play of how the teams
break out, Badger's changing up a little bit, christ and
Fitzgerald' skating along the blue line. Great pass up the ice,
takes it a little bit of action on his back
as he gets in there, makes the move and puts
the puck home.

Speaker 2 (01:34:27):
It's five one Wisconsin and the power play continues for
another two point forty eighth goal of the year for Fitzgerald,
his sixth on the power play. It comes. It's seventeen
forty six Fitzgerald from Deck Seimer. Three point night for
the captain, Ben Deck Sheimer, Buck louseids center in the

(01:34:48):
Badgers habit. So now it's Montgomery, Tulk, Bottrel E John
and the point man is Luke osburn He's got it
up to center and Bottrel whips across into the Michigan zone.
Duke there wanted to clear, could not down the right
wing wall. E John holds carries it to the corner
back behind the net. Bruno. E John slides it over

(01:35:10):
to Tulk bumped it off the wall, Bottrel out to
the point Osburne right side. Eight John shot stop by
ivan Kovic. It popped into the air and then he
swung and snagged it quickly as the whistle blows two
seven left on the power play won forty one to
go in the second, five to one at Wisconsin.

Speaker 5 (01:35:30):
Five line. There's still a lot of action after the
whistles here, seeing this a lot around the net. At
that time, Draper again had Bottrel cut up.

Speaker 6 (01:35:37):
I gave him a short little cross shack at Bottrel
did obviously enjoy.

Speaker 2 (01:35:44):
Hughes against Morrissey to the left of ivan Kovic and
the Badgers. When the draw held in nicely by Deckzheimer,
Finley with it skates left wing looking and shooting it
hit Tassi in front, bounced around a little bit that
Gerald couldn't reach it, and Michigan did and Malcolm Spence
sends it down. It rolls all the way towards Howser,
who leaves it off for deck Seimer. I'm in a

(01:36:06):
twenty to go here in the second, Finley with it
placed it to the corner Morrissey offensive zone. Badgers have
it right wing now Fitzgerald down to the goal line,
bumps it back to Finley, Quinn backpedaling out to the point.
Deck Seimer right back to Quinn. Finley. Finley snaps off
at pass cross ice, intercepted by Michael hage Beggar. Pardon
t J. Hughes hard to the net, goes Spence, Hughes

(01:36:28):
trying to feed him. He's cut off. Dex Sheimer got
in the way. Badger's leading five to one. Powerplay continues
under a minute to go in the period, and now
it passed towards Hughes after a steal by Spence. He
stumbles down at a penalty coming up on Wisconsin. Em
So that'll do it for the remainder of the power play.

(01:36:50):
There was one sixteen left on the ship scheme Major.
They're going to take Wisconsin's deck Sheimer for tripping. Wisconsin
right now three for six on the power play, leading
five to one. Will skate four on four for the
rest of this period unless there are more Shenanigans.

Speaker 6 (01:37:09):
Tex Himer just send a slot two baggers on the
Michigan player stick ended up in the left skate and
Hughes fell over and chep call pretty easy one.

Speaker 2 (01:37:21):
Yep, face off the howser's left. Michigan wins it. Fantilli
back pedals to the blue line. Here's Hage now with it. Stick.
Candle's got by Dubinski now twists away from Dubinsky, but
he stays with a man a man. Good play by
Aiden Dubinsky to stick with Michael hage Age still has
the puck. Now to Fan Tilly. Thirty five seconds to
go on the period, left wing pass Puran to Fantilly

(01:37:43):
walks around Deering comes down low left and he tried
to shove it in Houser down low. He never got
the shot off. Michigan though with a puck Fan Tilly
outside the right circle cross ice left point Age stick Candling,
slowed by Horback, maintained possession, but a while pass out
to center draws Michigan back to neutral ice. Thirteen seconds
to go. In the second period, Badrews had a two

(01:38:05):
to nothing lead after one period, went up three to nothing.
Michigan got a shorthanded goal to cut it to two,
but then the Badgers score a pair of Bolden hour
right before the horn sounds. His shot was picked off
by his teammates backhander just as the horn went off,
went high and wide, and that's it for period number two.
Won a wild second period with reviews and penalties and

(01:38:29):
four goals three by Wisconsin. The Badgers lead the Wolverines
five to one after two periods of play. Badger hockey

Second intermission, Tenth rank Wisconsin lead second ranked Michigan five
to one. Badgers had a two to nothing lead after
the opening period thanks to power play goals from Ben
Deckzheimer and Gavin Morrissey. Then in the second period, a
beautiful move by freshman Blake Montgomery at won twenty four
to finish off his fifth goal of the year. Zach
Schulz the lone assist. Badgers had a three to nothing

(01:42:22):
lead and then got a power play, but Michigan scored
shorthanded Luca fan Tilly with a rebound goal after a
shot by Josh Ernesty, Dylan Duke Bigger Pardon Tyler Duke
with a secondary assist. It came at four fifty nine,
second goal of the year of fan Tilly. Was a
three to one game and Michigan had some momentum, but
the Badgers got it right back about two and a
half minutes later. Montgomery got the play started. Bruno e

(01:42:45):
John found Luke Osburn, who then found Aiden Dubinsky down
the slot. Dubinsky buried as first as a Badger at
seven thirty four that made it four to one Wisconsin.
Then a major penalty on Michigan's Garrett Schifski for grabbing
the face mask of Logan Hensler gave the Badgers an
extended power play they would convert to as Christian Fitzgerald

(01:43:07):
snuck behind the Michigan d and beat Jack ivan Kovic
at seventeen forty six, his eighth goal of the year.
Ben deck Sheimer and goaltender Daniel Hauser with the helpers
five to one Wisconsin. Ben deck Sheimer eventually took a
tripping penalty to end the major power play for the Badgers,
but Wisconsin with a four goal advantage after two shots

(01:43:28):
on goal in the second period, advantaged to Michigan thirteen
to ten. Daniel Houser twelve saves in that period. He's
made twenty one so far, seven saves for ivan Kovic,
he has seventeen so far. Tonight, face offs, Wisconsin's won
thirty one of fifty two face offs tonight. That is

(01:43:48):
rather impressive.

Speaker 15 (01:43:50):
I know.

Speaker 2 (01:43:50):
Gavin Morrissey had a heck of a opening period. He's
won fourteen of twenty, and Oliver Tulk has now won
nine of fourteen. Michigan has blocked sixteen shots tonight. But
the Badgers with a five to one lead, and you
know again Badgers up on that three nothing, Michigan scores
and they get some momentum Paul, but Wisconsin had an

(01:44:11):
answer and then able to build on it too.

Speaker 5 (01:44:14):
That was a huge goal by Aidan Dubinski there.

Speaker 6 (01:44:17):
It was a nice past Luke Osbourne from actually the
corner and he one defense him in the corner. Then
Aidan Dubinski cutting down the slot, wide open, nobody near him.
Nice pass by Osbourne and catch the the Duluth transfer
and he had pretty much a wide open shot hit
the corner and that was a huge momentum killer. The
crowd was really getting into it and that kind of

(01:44:39):
shut him down. And one detail he left out Michigan
to add to the wildness of that period.

Speaker 5 (01:44:44):
They thought they had scored a goal.

Speaker 6 (01:44:46):
True at one point when Daniel Houser was immediately waved
off by the refs when I think it was Draper's
skate if I'm not mistaken, caught Daniel Hauser as he
was coming out from behind the net and a loose
puck out in front was put in the net.

Speaker 5 (01:45:00):
By Michigan, but waved.

Speaker 6 (01:45:01):
Off for a goaltender interference, got reviewed and upheld that way,
so that got the crowd going. And there's been a
lot of physical after the whistle stuff that has the
Michigan fans in a sour mood in addition to the
score on the scoreboard. So a little bit of a
while period, but Batterer's come out of it with one
more goal than they did the first one more goal

(01:45:23):
lead than they did the first period.

Speaker 5 (01:45:24):
Or sorry, I talk about mathing a two lead.

Speaker 2 (01:45:30):
Good thing.

Speaker 5 (01:45:30):
We're not getting tested tonight, No kidding, no kidding. So
that's five one after too, you know, the goalie.

Speaker 2 (01:45:36):
Or the review too, came after Dubinski's goal. It was
four to one at the time, but nevertheless that was
an important play. We've seen a lot of them. Badger's
lead five to one second in a mission. We'll take
a ninety second break. This is Badger Hockey from Mirfield.

Speaker 4 (01:45:51):
Badger Hockey is brought to you by a Lion's Energy,
Powering Beyond for you and by seat Geek. Seat Geek
is the official dieting partner of the Wisconsin Badgers.

Speaker 1 (01:46:02):
Find tickets to Badger games and more see d it's
time to drop the put for the third period.

Speaker 2 (01:46:10):
Paul Capo Bianco here in ann Armor, Wisconsin with a
five to one lead as we start the third, twenty
six seconds left on the Garrett Shipsky pedale. There's a
minute ten on Wisconsin's penalty to Ben deck Sheimer, so
four on four for twenty six seconds. Then Michigan will
get a power play for forty four seconds. Five to one,

(01:46:32):
Wisconsin with the lead here tonight, waiting for the ice
to firmly sets and for the Big ten network Ben
Holden and Fred Plesh to get back on the air,
and we'll drop the pucket center ice Fitzgerald against Spence,
which Gerald falls to his knees. Puck is free, Finley

(01:46:54):
pulling for it, but Fan Tilly's got it, and now
it's Tyler Duke Ugh to center across the line. They're
on side. Good stick checked by Finley, good hit by Finley,
but the puck free right side and Spence with a
one timer and he rang the iron oh quick pass
left point low right. Spence pulled the trigger and the

(01:47:14):
Badger's fortunate. It's still five to one.

Speaker 5 (01:47:17):
That's a hell of a play. I'm pretty sure that
pass was in the air across the ice.

Speaker 2 (01:47:21):
Michigan bag at full strength Badgers with the puck, and
Fitzgerald tried to scoop it deep and lifted it high,
too high, up over the glass and out of play.
So they will face it off if it's center ice.
So Wisconsin officially three for six on the power play.
Michigan will get its third crack on the manned advantage.

(01:47:43):
Oh for five so far this weekend for the top
rank power play in the country. Hughes Valentini porkof Hage
and Raya Mullen, who's puck at center picked up by Horbox.
Gates left, taking some time across the line, shoots one
and Ivankovic with a stop, but he's forced to hang
onto it is. Horbock followed his shot and Morrissey was

(01:48:03):
coming down the middle too.

Speaker 6 (01:48:05):
Horbach it looked like he was gonna just kind of
play it and dump it in, but he saw all
the open ice in front of him, tuck it, said
what the heck, I'll take give it a go here, right,
and then Marcy was going towards the net. It actually
turned into something for Wisconsin.

Speaker 2 (01:48:18):
Morrisey on the face off against hughes again in the
offensive zone. On this penalty kill, Buck is loose. Michigan
has control twenty three seconds to go. On the Wolverine's
power play, Hage patient with a puck near his own
bench and misfired on a headman passed a Horcoff and
if they say no icing, Horcoff gave up as if
he didn't touch it. It could have been icing, maybe

(01:48:40):
should have been, but it wasn't called. And now good
work by Shoals to muscle the puck out to center.
Horback picks it up. He looks back over his right
shoulder and throws it up over the top of the
Michigan cage. He'll get a change. Wisconsin gets back at
full strength. So the Badgers three for three on the PK,
three for six on the power play, lead Michigan five
to one. Just over a minute going by. Here in

(01:49:01):
the third lead Feedlake Montgomery deflex on side. No, they're
gonna call icing. I thought Montgomery got a piece of it,
but apparently his stick hit the ice. That's what we heard.
Not to stick on puck, So icing on Wisconsin faceoff
back in the Badger's zone.

Speaker 5 (01:49:18):
I thought that he got it too. But obviously not.

Speaker 6 (01:49:20):
There's no complaints at all, right, So man a twenty
five in here, four goal lead. Badger's here formula is
pretty simple. Stand in the box here and just player game,
possess the puck and defend.

Speaker 2 (01:49:35):
Dick won the face off. Montgomery fights through a slash,
can't clear though, although he follows up the play and
able to nudge it out to center. Now it's back
into the Wisconsin end, but Michigan needs to touch up
there on side. Wisconsin with possession, Osburn up ahead near
side two handed out by Montgomery, taken back by the Wolverines.
Dubinski able to poke it free. Now it's Wisconsin's Tassy,

(01:49:57):
who whistles one wide as he was on the rush.
Montgomery puts it back behind the net. Tassi collects. He's
tied up there by. Shock gets some support from Tyson Dick.
Dick stick candling towards the net, had to come off
his stick, and now Moldenauer had it, had his stick
lifted by Dick, and then Dick lost the puck to Shock,
and now it's Robertson with it five to one, two

(01:50:19):
ten gone by third period, Wisconsin with the lead on
the road, against Michigan, hoping to get a series split
before heading back to Madison for a matchup with Ohio State.
Shot goes down at center, tried to draw a penalty.
Nothing called McKinney from the right wing. He fired one,
missed the nets looked like Howser had the angle and
it carry ved off the far corner wall all the

(01:50:40):
way back into the Michigan zone. Now Tyler Duke nifty
stick handling until he coughed up the puck, and then
he lost his stick. And now he gets physical with Deering,
which allows his teammates to get to the puck. They
throw it to center. Falan back though to pick it up. Deering,
now with speed, trying to cut around Barnett. The freshman
defenseman does a nice job against Deering, carries him into
the end boards and Tyler Duke's got it again. Now

(01:51:01):
for Michigan, left handed defenseman up ahead off the stick
of Deckheimer goes towards Wisconsin's cage. Howser well out of
his net to his right, paddles it back to deck.
Seimer steps past Spence and comes up the middle of
the ice. Now off to the right, gets the red
line and Wisconsin's finley fell over the blue line as
it stumped down in.

Speaker 6 (01:51:18):
It looked back like he maybe caught himself on the Linesman.
I'm not sure, but either way it didn't really affect
the play.

Speaker 2 (01:51:24):
Nope, Michigan has the puck up the center Vanalentini shovels
it near side. Paran top angled shot miss the nets
off the far wall. Hage now with it pressured by
Tulk catching it as Fitzgerald tried to headman to Finley
but flubbed it. Fitzi's got it back, tried to sauce
it to Osborne, coughed it up. Look out, here's a chance.
Parawan on his backhand. Good puck check by Dubinski. It

(01:51:45):
became a two on one after the Badger's blue line turnover,
but Dubinsky with a huge play. Now Michigan again forces
a turnover. Hage on the attack right wing back of
Shoals wheeling on his backhand. Hage with it looking backside
for Valentini the past five behind him and Nol. Fitzgerald
the other way gets hooked a couple of times by Valentini,
fights through it. Right wing all alone shoots one stop

(01:52:06):
by the goaltender Ivan Kovic leaping to knock it down Finley.
He has possession cycles with Morrissey off the right wing
wall Davin. Morrissey peels back to the corner and then
got held up by Robertson Finley and on the fort
check Steels tried to pass to the slot to Tassie,
who was open for a moment, didn't get through. Hensler
now with the badgers. Hensler just lost an edge. He

(01:52:27):
wiped out on the seat of his pants. The nifty
skater is logan Hensler. That was not pretty. He looked
like me there for a second. Look out past slot
Shock shot stop by Houser. They bumping off the end boards.
Hughes now steps in front, short angled shot that was
blocked by Hensler. With it now molden hour, little feather
pass towards the slot. Shock never got it picked up

(01:52:48):
near side Moldenour. He whistles one Wye Michigan buzzing a bit,
but they're down four fifteen to fifteen to go.

Speaker 5 (01:52:53):
In the third.

Speaker 2 (01:52:56):
Nol Finley and Hughes both go down. Every time there's
nothing called or some thing called. Vansier don't like it.
Puck came out to center. Michigan is offside with the
puck as Morrissey, Horkoff hits him. As Morrissey passes the
puck to Penzler, the Badger's patient shoals did he gain
the red line? He tried, but then his attempt to
dump it in went off the stick of Hughes and

(01:53:17):
the puck went out of play. Fourteen fifty six left
here in the third Badger's lead five to one.

Speaker 5 (01:53:22):
Michigan just.

Speaker 6 (01:53:25):
Trying to put the puck on the net from everywhere
on that chef. When they got the puck in deep
and they were right before hence there went and I
took a digger in the corner and they had Moldenauer
hanging out by the far blue line. So they're just
keeping guys floating up, trying to catch a chance for
a breakaway or whatever.

Speaker 5 (01:53:42):
Here as they're down four goals.

Speaker 2 (01:53:43):
Certainly more aggressive right now. Here's Montgomery on the attack
left wing shot fought off by Ivan Kovic Porbob trying
to pull it free in the corner. It slides out
towards the Michigan line, and that's where Park just got crushed.
Huge tech by mind Gummery separates him from the puck.
Tyson dick off balanced, Montgomery picks it up. He'll shoot

(01:54:05):
one from out high that skips wide and goes behind
the nets. Montgomery you can see playing with a bit
more confidence tonight than last night and getting some things done. Turnover,
Badgers have a Piedals steps up, tried to go on
the glove side high and miss the nets. He had
deering right down the middle and open for a moment.
Piedle has got a back right wing feeds, deering goes

(01:54:26):
harder the net. He got tripped down. Ivan Covid goes
down trying to draw a pedalty and the referees let
him play on. Fourteen minutes left in the third, five
to one, Badgers brink with a puck open man that
pied La Hammer's at home. Oh he pounded that one
past Ivan Kovic at six to one Wisconsin.

Speaker 6 (01:54:45):
What a shot out in Piedla from the slot a
one timer. That's kind of like where Christop Fitzgerald hines
out for the power play open there one time, gets
down on his knee and beats the goaltender who looked
right at the ref after. I think he was stilling
it his head from I think he got knocked over,
maybe got a skate caught, kind of like earlier when
Michigan's game goal was this allowed. But he got back

(01:55:09):
up on that one and just kept looking. But Badger's
Pietlo just rips it. He missed a net a little
bit before that on the other side and makes it
a six to one game.

Speaker 2 (01:55:18):
Adam Piedla, who had one goal as a freshman, scores
his first as a sophomore at six oh five. The
Badgers have a half dozen and lead Michigan by five.
Dubinsky carried into the end boards of the Wisconsin zone
talk with some muscle on McKinney. Wolverine's hold his own
left wing with it Valentin. He is shot out through

(01:55:39):
Houser made this stop. Puck is lose. McKinney fell down,
got back up, slashed at Dubinsky steel backside left passed
for McKinney, out of his reach. He tracks it down
off the wall and then he's forced out to center
by Aiden Dubinsky. Good play, He's got to stay on
the ice, though, Where's Fan Tilly? A little sauce pass
for McKinney, knocked down by Osbourne and pulled free by

(01:56:02):
Spence in the attacking zone. Spence wide right, Fitzgerald stays
right on him like glues. Spence, trying to get free,
hands it off to Mania near side. Parn had it
caught up in his skates. Buck taken away by Osborne,
flips it ahead, batted down by the Wolverines. They can't
play it otherwise. It's a hand pass and the badger's
nudget ahead. Bottrel trying to hit Fitzgerald, but fan Tilly

(01:56:24):
comes over to take it away and the Wolverines have
it back. Mania on side winds it deep hold an
hour far corner, tied up for a moment. Now hege
finds Paran at a right pat saved by Howser. Wow,
he is on his game tonight Daniel Hauser and then
chucked out to center by Finley. It rolls on edge,

(01:56:44):
not strongly enough for icing.

Speaker 6 (01:56:46):
At some point blacks blank shot to the right of Hauser.
Yep again Confident came up, cut down the angle and
just watched it hit himself.

Speaker 2 (01:56:55):
Piedla from brink and deering at sixteen oh five. How
about the fourth line coming.

Speaker 5 (01:56:59):
Through love it that completes the Michigan for some to
each get in a point.

Speaker 2 (01:57:05):
Yeah, we had a whistle and a stoppage and play Badgers.
Have a goal from each line here tonight and leave
the Wolverines six to one with twelve oh four to
go in the third. American Family Insurance is the official

At Joe's Marina that railed transport broadcast booth. Brian and
All the Badgers lead Michigan six to one with twelve
oh four left here in the third period. Number two Michigan,
Number two Michigan against number ten Wisconsin. Rankings don't be
in a hill of beans in November, but it'll be

(01:59:01):
interesting to see where these two teams stack up when
the ratings come out again. On Monday. Western Michigan got
swept by Denver at home. Oh, there's a little collision.
Michigan State swept third rank Penn State. Where do the
Nitney Lions fall. It'll all shake out. We got a

(01:59:26):
four more months left to this and if it's anything
like this weekend, it's going to be a blast.

Speaker 6 (01:59:32):
Long way to go, but it'll take every one of
these again, long way to go, still eleven minutes.

Speaker 5 (01:59:38):
Still crazy stuff can happen.

Speaker 2 (01:59:40):
But no question. Felan, pressured in his own zone, head
Man passed to Montgomery off his skate dex Shimer over skates,
then got knocked down from behind, but Montgomery there to
play it back to center. Now Ernesty gives Dexheimer a
whack or two while he's laying on the ice, and
now it's scooped ahead. Reaching for it, Ernesty just can't
pull it free. Osburn then hit the brakes, outskated Earn
as he took it away, and now Wisconsin's deering with

(02:00:02):
it three on two to our left, Brank looking shooting,
Block back to Brink looking and he tried to shoot.
He got blocked down again, and then Brank went into
the end boards the goldtender ivan Kovic spinning around, he
falls down. Fans won a penalty, but it was his
own teammate that interfered with him. And now here's Mania
with five Badgers in the defensive zone and only one wolverine.

(02:00:24):
Michigan has been slow and now look out Park takes
a run at Wisconsin's deering. Now Brink going at it
with Draper, Valentini and Dubinski. Grady Deering is going at
it with Robertson, and now it's Brink coming back over.
Osburn is matched up with Shock. The referee is trying

(02:00:45):
to cool everybody down. Deering and Robertson still going at it.
Osburn still tied up on the near side with shock.
Draper will not get over the top of Brink. He's
standing over him. Draper without his helmet, and Brink is
jawn at him. And now Piela over to have a
word or two. Piedla wants a piece of Draper. The

(02:01:07):
line's been doing all they can. We got sticks and
helmets and bucks everywhere badgers. Quinn Finley pounding his stick
on the bench, cheering on his mates, and Brink still
John with the veteran Keenan Draper. I know Draper's dad, Christy,

(02:01:31):
long time Detroit Redwing, is here standing to the left
of the Michigan bench. Well, there's gonna be a group
meeting of badgers in the pedally box. Deering Brink. Looks
like Pieda is gonna go yep. We'll also see Luke
Osborn head to the box. So we got a foursome

(02:01:53):
of badgers in the pedaly box right now, just two wolverines.
But it was Aiden Park who started that whole thing
by taking a run at Wisconsin's Finn Brink I think
it was.

Speaker 6 (02:02:10):
And then draper on might have been Brink again or
somebody came in later maybe it was piedla which would
have been an interference call because the puck wasn't in
possession of anybody.

Speaker 2 (02:02:22):
So again, this has been building here tonight. This is
the fifth time the referees have gone to the scores
table to look at video replay. Shock and park from
Michigan in the Wolverines penalty box right now and now

(02:02:42):
their captain T. J. Hughes will come over to find
out exactly what they're thinking, and Wisconsin captain Ben Deckzheimer
will do the same.

Speaker 5 (02:02:54):
Just doing the math again, which we've not been good
at tonight. The four Badgers and two Wolverines doesn't see
to make sense with what just.

Speaker 2 (02:03:01):
Happened, No, because it was instigated by Michigan, and that's
I think what the referees are looking at. Now they're
taking numbers and we'll hand things out accordingly. Well, in
case you're joining us late after a seven to four
loss last night, a game that was closer than the score.

(02:03:22):
If Badrews jumped out to a two to nothing lead
in the first period on power play goals from Ben
Deckzheimer and Gavin Morrissey, it was three to nothing early
in the second when Blake Montgomery made a beautiful move
left to right and back left in the slot and
whistled one past ivan Kovic for his fifth goal in
fifth games to make it three to nothing. Andrews had

(02:03:42):
a power play. Michigan got the crowd going when Luca
fan Tilli scored a shorty about five minutes into the second.
It was a two goal game, but two and a
half minutes later Luke Osborne set up Aiden Dubinski for
Dubinski's first goal as a Badger that made it four
to one. Christian Fitzgerald a power play goal at the
end of the second made it five to one. Adam

(02:04:02):
Piedle scores from the right circle six minutes into the
third to make it six to one, and with ten
to eleven left, that's when all the craziness, or the
additional craziness started happening.

Speaker 6 (02:04:18):
I think Hearing ended up hitting at the other end,
ran into ivan Kovic. You watch it again, Fantilly hit him,
knocked him into the goaltender, kind of got caught up
and again I'm wearing my red sweater. As you said earlier,
he looked like he was trying to catch his balance
and ended up knocking the goaltender over hit him on

(02:04:38):
the back or whatever, knocked him over and spun around.
And that's when Michigan defenseman turned around, saw that happen
and started working on deering up the ice. He gave
him a couple of shots from behind, and then we
saw pretty much some direct Michigan player is going right
after Badges in the corner, pied La or Fink, and

(02:04:58):
then I went kind of squared off all over the ice.

Speaker 2 (02:05:02):
No punch is thrown. You know this is You don't
see that in college hockey anymore. If you do, it's
very rare. And the referees continue to look at video
replay to determine who should be sitting in the penalty
box or maybe who should be escorted to the locker room.
Ten to eleven left in the third, Wisconsin has a

(02:05:23):
six to one lead on the Michigan Wolverines. Hey Badger

We'd love to see at the rink both nights. Saturday
will be especially fun and memorable as we celebrate the
life and the fandom of Phil and Mary Louzik. So now,

(02:06:11):
Barry Pakmara, the referee has a list of names in
his hand and he's explaining to Wisconsin's Deckzheimer and Michigan's
Hughes and it looks like I mean he's used his
right hand and thumb to indicate that somebody's been injected,
or maybe more than one to.

Speaker 6 (02:06:30):
The Badgers in the penalty box went back to the bench.
It might have been just a tactic to get Efron
off the ice that make sure things are cleaned up.

Speaker 2 (02:06:37):
Yeah, Brink and Osburn are in the penalty box for
Wisconsin's Shock and Park from Michigan, So maybe the skaters
that remain on the benches or on the ice will
remain until the game concludes. Oh okay, Ssconsin's gonna get

(02:07:12):
a power play out of this, so Park for charging
Shock for roughing after the whistle Draper as well. Brink
is in the box for ruffing Osburn two. So three
miners to two, Michigan is shorthand at Badger's leads six'
one and on the cuenest power play for the seventh

(02:07:35):
time tonight that was.

Speaker 6 (02:07:37):
In my book pretty well Called Dayden park came in
with the game from the other side of the, ice
hit fak and Then Keenan draper came in. LATE i
don't think he got a penalty for it after all,
that but hit one of The. BADGERS i think it
was Pied La, yeah with a puck nowhere near. Anyway
ninety nine time of the.

Speaker 2 (02:07:54):
Penalties wisconsin with a six to one, lead And michigan
takes the puck and sends it all the way down.
Again michigan has the ability to score in bunches, quickly
so take advantage of the man. Advantage Philly finley Low
laugh trying to go shortstide and Somehow Ivan covid kept it.
Out Here's Fitzgerald finley hashboards or half mark excuse, me

Half wall, right Dex sheimer left. Wing morrissey sets in

pass left Wing. For botterlerel i'm all able to catch
It and michigan clears it all the. Way down that'll
do it likely For the badger's power play three for.
Seven tonight pretty good looking.

Speaker 6 (02:09:43):
Power, play actually both the first and second unit's got
the puck, moving around got some. Shots off montgomery had
a chance on a backhand that would have been a good,
rebound Shot but michigan player slid in front prevent that.

Speaker 2 (02:09:55):
Potential goal So the wolverine's back at. Full strength eight
minutes to go in the third Six, on wisconsin and
they'll rim it Around and hughes trying to get it
Out and leu's kept in at the blue Line by
dick darts off to, his right low right deering beat
can't shot miss. The nuts horback takes it off, the
glass gets hip checked away from the Puck by horkaf

(02:10:15):
and Now It's rayo mullen with It. For michigan they
look to exit, their zone but they threw it away.
At center schole sends it right back Into the michigan
zone and then deering it is stick slashed out of
his Hands. By Ernesty here's, hughes now that's right lost
the puck as he was slashed at by puck popped
into the air off Side on michigan seven twenty four.

(02:10:37):
To go in the third Six' one wisconsin.

Speaker 6 (02:10:40):
Anthony To see how wisconsin uses their lines the rest
of the way here You do see finley out here

kind of get a little, bit of distance yesterday and
neither team could do that till the. End Of the
game the badgers got a little extra cushion and kind
of went from there a couple of power play goals
within five or so minutes and Kind of sent the.

(02:38:41):
and certainly when the puck goes in the back and
then more than the other team that you. Feel GOOD
about it but, i, would say. That yeah mission accomplished they,
wanted to. Defend harder they did they wanted to possess
the puck, better and, they did and yeah they Made
it tough on.

Speaker 6 (02:38:56):
Michigan as he, talked about puck management and that was
some of those miss they had yesterday that. Did not,

(02:41:46):
associate head coach todd cannot following, The, victory, here tonight
todd congratulations you know last, night was you know YOU'VE learned,
some lessons? I, think don't you.

Speaker 16 (02:41:56):
Yeah one hundred percent and, just through the group that's
the first time we've been in this spot on the,
road after a loss, and that eight, o'clock for whatever
reason start feels, like two days later and so that
piece you get a little bit, concerned with your guys
a lot of dead time during the, day at the
hotel and couldn't be prouder of the group how they
handled that. And started on time and then you got

(02:42:19):
to give credit the power play just momentum and how
huge that was. In the first period you go two
for two on your. FIRST two power plays i thought
that gave us. Momentum, for the, Game Yeah you.

Speaker 2 (02:42:28):
KNOW mike hastings and i had talked in you too
about things you wanted. To see differently tonight you. Wanted
to defend harder, you certainly. Did that didn't you you,
know what we did and we talked about it.

Speaker 16 (02:42:39):
In pregame this afternoon we're, not gonna play perfect but
the one thing we had done really well.

Speaker 2 (02:42:44):
Up to that point on.

Speaker 16 (02:42:45):
Our mistakes are turnovers, earlier in the season guys just,
at each other's backs whether we got to stick a block,
shot after a turnover and yesterday one mistake led into
two mistakes three and, back of the net and there's
far too much of that where we gave the game.
AWAY a little bit a lot of good things, that
happened last night but you can't play Against a team like.
Michigan who's got firepower you've got. To MANAGE the pocket

(02:43:06):
and i thought we did. A much better job and again,
not playing perfect tonight but they played.

Speaker 2 (02:43:10):
Hard for each other they Certainly Did, end without joe
polatachuk one, of your best defenseman unable to go. Because,
of an illness.

Speaker 16 (02:43:16):
Yes and, he's such a leader And so that's Where
i'm gonna give dexi.

Speaker 2 (02:43:18):
A lot of credit.

Speaker 16 (02:43:21):
MORRIS our other captains i thought they did a great
job making. Sure guys were ready dexi, not only point
wise the stuff he does on a bench that nobody
can see to, keep a group calm especially when tonight
it got out, of control at times especially. In the
third period there's a lot of running around in, PENALTIES
and Within that i think dexi's a really calming.

Speaker 2 (02:43:42):
Influence, on the Group Yeah. So is daniel, hauser by
the way it was a nice, bounce back. For him wasn't?

Speaker 16 (02:43:47):
It, you know what yeah the team bounce back and he.
Made some incredible saves and now we'll go to the penalty.
Kill side of it he's got to be, your BEST
penalty killer and i thought he made two big time
saves in the first period on a penalty kill to
make sure that, didn't go one. One two to one
they get momentum in this, building with FULL crowd and
so i thought he.

Speaker 5 (02:44:05):
Was, big time tonight.

Speaker 2 (02:44:06):
Yeah when you think about the, series as a whole
you score ten goals against a team that was giving
up one and a half a game and your penalty
kill was perfect against the number one power.

Speaker 16 (02:44:16):
Play, in the country, yeah you know what you hold
your breath with that power play the first period and
again you.

Speaker 2 (02:44:21):
That's.

Speaker 16 (02:44:21):
WHERE your goaltender ay i thought we did a really good.
Job early last night we held out in the third
one and a. Key for discipline, too like our group you.
HAVE to stay disciplined i know there, are some penalties
late but it was the game was. OVER at that
point i thought our guys stayed very discipline and you
keep that number.

Speaker 2 (02:44:38):
To two to three. You got a chance how? Important
was this win mike was talking about, In the pregame
show this, Is An. Important game it's november? How important
is it very just because. You're ON the road And,
I do think michigan. I give them credit i think
they're top five. Team in the country the, fighter power
they have, they've got the goaltender and that WAS the
big part i Think for us growing it was being
on the road and, finding way to score not just

(02:44:58):
on the power play. But five on five monty KEEPS
coming and what.

Speaker 16 (02:45:02):
I loved about him it would be the first to
say last night, wasn't HIS best night and i thought.
He was outstanding tonight so a young Guy taking a
step brink who hasn't. BEEN in the lineup i thought
he was great. Tonight and brought energy batila getting his
first and so a lot of good things with some,
of our young Guys and Again with dexi and morrissey
the leadership. With the older guys it takes a team

(02:45:22):
effort to do, something like this tonight and we just got.

Speaker 2 (02:45:25):
To, keep moving, Forward, no all right todd. Thanks For Coming.
Up congratulations paul Sure associate head coach todd Connat with
us after wisconsin's six' One. Victory over the michigan wolverines
we're gonna check, scores from around the country. Plus highlights

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
