At the Cole Center, Wisconsin faces Bowling Green tonight. Quick
turnaround for the Badgers, now joined by Wisconsin head coach
Robin Pinchton. I want to go back to the game
on Monday night against Milwaukee. What does this say about
this team that you've had a different leading score It
was Brianna Ware on Monday night, but three games and
three different leading scores.

Speaker 12 (04:53):
Yeah, you know, I think we've got a lot of
I don't know, versatility. We've got some good depth, you know,
and I just think there's a lot of different players
on any given night that you know, might have the
hot hand. And so I think it makes you a
little bit more difficult to scout. And hopefully we can
continue with that trend.

That'd be great.

Today, also a signing day, announced the signing of three
recruits Leah Noordin, Adeline Shepley Giselle Janowski, all from the
state of Wisconsin for the Badgers. What can you tell
us about those signers signings.

Speaker 12 (05:24):
We're really excited about them, feel really blessed three just
not only talented players, but extremely amazing human beings. You know,
our culture is really important to us, the environment in
that locker room, and so you know, being able to
recruit players from the state of Wisconsin, that was one
of the most important things that you know, we set
out to do in our recruiting of this class. And

(05:46):
so they're just passionate, they're they're excited to help us
move the needle for Wisconsin women's basketball. They're gritty, they're tough,
they love playing the game, and like I said, just
incredible human beings. So we feel like we hit home
run with all three of them.

Speaker 3 (06:01):
Yeah, and then finally, Destiny Howell is a leading scorer
this season for your team, just recently hit fifteen hundred
career points.

Speaker 13 (06:10):
What does she mean to this team?

Speaker 12 (06:11):
Yeah, you know, she's just been such a blessing. This
year is going to go too fast. I wish we
had her for a few more years. But just again,
not only a talented basketball player, but just a really
neat person and has got a great story, has had
a great journey, really proud of, you know. Unfortunately this
summer she wasn't able to be on the court much
because of some injuries and has had to work herself back.

So she's still catching her stride, but impacts the game
obviously in a big way on the offensive end, has
the ability to do it on the defensive end, and
that's where we continue to try and stretch her. But
a young lady that has the ability to make place
and shoots it on all three levels. So it's nice
to have her on our squad.

Bacher's assistant coach who played four seasons at Tennessee. You
played in the pros, now you're coaching. What made you
want to go to the route of a coach.

That's a really good question.

Honestly, it was not by choice.

Speaker 26 (10:26):
Had a lot of former teammates and mentors that kind
of pushed me in this direction, just with who I
was as a player and how I carry myself as
a point guard. They're like, you're already a coach, there'd
be nothing for you to just move a couple of
seats down.

Speaker 3 (10:40):
Yeah, tonight, it's Bowling Green. The Falcons come in one
and one. Now, their last game was against number two
South Carolina, So how much can you learn about an
opponent when they have you know, that type of I
guess I'll call it lopsided type of game.

Speaker 26 (10:51):
Well, I think in those situations like you really have
to lock in and to lock into who you are
and stay true to who you are regards of what
the score, have to do, what you do it's a
way to still run through your sets, you know your
plays and whatnot, work on different schemes and things that
you might want to do as you continue to move forward,
and so don't ever want it to be a wasted opportunity.

So was able to just kind of get some of
their sets, get a feel for how people play their
tennis seas and whatnot.

Speaker 3 (11:18):
And Paige Coler is the only player there averaging double
figures and she scored over I think it's over seven
hundred and seventy points in her first two seasons at
Bowling Green. She's going to be one to watch.

Speaker 26 (11:27):
Tonight, right most definitely, like you said, leading scorer. She
is preseason All first team in their conference this year,
and so she's got the green light, like whatever shot
that she wants and that she feels that she has,
I think the coaching staff and our teammates trust her
to take it. So she takes on a lot of
that scoring responsibility. So we would definitely have to have
a lot of awareness on where she is at all times.

the Badgers notebook hits the Big ten versus the mac Here.
In this non conference game, Wisconsin faces Bowling Green and
when you look at the all time series between the
Badgers and the Falcons. This is the third meeting ever.
Last time these two teams met back on November fifteenth
of nineteen ninety eight, it was a Wisconsin win. The
series is tied at one apiece. Wisconsin's coming off a

dominating victory over Milwaukee seventy five to forty six on
Monday night. In that game, as a team, Wisconsin shot
forty five percent from the floor. They hit seven to
three pointers, picked up a season high sixteen steals. Now,
in that game, Brianna ware led the team with thirteen points.
Twelve different Badgers scored points in the game, including the

first of the career for Reese Hatomio, a sophomore. But
back to where with those thirteen points, the Badgers to
play three games, They've had three different leading scorers. Destiny
Howell led the way in the first, it was Kiarra
Daniels in the second game, and then in the third

It's time for Wisconsin Bachers basketball. Let's take a look
at the lineup, starting first for the visitors from Bowling
Green under coach Fred Shamiel. They're won in one this season,
and the lineup looks like this. Janea donahu'es a five
eight sophomore guard scoring nine points per game. Page Colder,
the five eight junior, leads the team twelve and a
half per game. Tayo Ellis a six to one junior,

Kiara Miller is a five to seven freshman guard, and
the Lauren Gerkins, a six to one sophomore forward, leads
the Falcons with five and a half rebounds per game.
For Robin Pinston's Wisconsin Badgers, they are two to one
this season. Destiny Howells six foot grad student transfer from
Howard leading score at thirteen point three per game. Ronnie
Porter five foot four senior guard from Saint Paul, Minnesota.

She's scoring almost five per game. Gift du Chenna gets
the start. Six to three senior transfer from Southern Illinois
leads the Badgers at over eight rebounds per contest. Kira
Daniels six foot junior transfer from Missouri State ten point
three points per game and Lacy Steele, five eleven junior
guard transfer from NC State, scores about eight per game.
Four Wisconsin, it's the Badgers and the Bowling Green Falcons.

Both teams out to mid court. Now ready for this
one to get underway. This is the fourth different lineup
in as many games for head coach Robin Pinched in
fourth different lineup for the Badgers. We are in game
number four tonight with gift U Chennam in the center
circle for the Badgers at six foot three. Taya elis
at six foot one for Bowling Green. Opening tip off
is back tapped and picked up by Daniels up Wisconsin,

and we are underway from Madison. Kira Daniels with the
rock for the Badgers. Two and one this season. Overall
as a team, they're scoring seventy two per contest. A
drive by Daniels who lost the basketball, that's a turnover
from Wisconsin into the front court and a carry called
on a drive by Donahue will turn the ball right
back over to the Badgers. Wisconsin and Bowling Green just

underway in the first quarter. And what's interesting too about
Wisconsin during the starting lineups. Here, you'll notice if you
come out to a basketball game this season, the Badgers
get introduced as a team. They do not introduce to
starting five. That's something that they wanted to try out.
They got to do it last time on Monday against Milwaukee.

for Chenna Gift. Chenna nine point three points per game
this season. She's a fifty five percent shooter so far.
