Speaker 1 (02:12):
Let's go, let's go. Come on. Welcome back, everybody. Good morning.
This is Ed McMahon and now, ladies and gentlemen, he's
ride riding love. Good morning, Hey, welcome back from the weekend.
I hope you guys had a wonderful weekend. Doant to

(02:34):
say happy birthday to the Marines right out of the
gate Marines birthday two fifty today, Wow, happy birthday? Okay,
other John big morning. What's he gonna do? What is
he gonna do? Is he gonna disrespect the game? I
hope not. Fresh out of bed? Head to head should

(02:55):
be interesting. He's going for win number five? Will he
break the brackets? Today? We're going to play the Texas
Hammer Game. At seven twenty it's Guitarvest Day one. We
start giving away guitars, autographed guitars. You want to take
a look at what's on the wheel. I put up
a little sneak peek on our stories on Instagram at

(03:16):
Rod Ryan's show, but we'll be talking about the guitars
that are on the wheel today. There is a spot
on the wheel that we've never ever ever done before.
I can't wait to tell you a little bit about
that concert announcement at nine o'clock. It's a big one.
We'll have tickets for you as well. Oh, the band's
coming here. I guess I got to say that now
it's a Houston show and then everclear tickets on know

(03:39):
the show today. So we're gonna be busy, guys. It's
cold outside, okay, I guess most talking. A little weather
coming up in just a little bit. But hide today
of around sixty two. Good morning, mom, what you got
for Houston's headlines?

Speaker 2 (03:51):
Hey there, it's day forty one of the government shutdown?

Speaker 3 (03:54):
Can I.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
Is it coming to a close? Though?

Speaker 3 (04:01):
No?

Speaker 2 (04:02):
No, But they did vote in the Senate to move
forward on a House pass.

Speaker 3 (04:06):
Bill to fund the government. This was overnight last night.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
Okay, so it is a major step towards ending the shutdown,
you take it.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
The vote was sixty forty eight.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
Democrats joined Republicans to advance the measure that had already
failed fourteen times before.

Speaker 3 (04:22):
Well, now the House will.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
Need to approve the bill before it can go to
the President to be signed. So still no real forecast
for when the shutdown will end, but we do know
the Senate will reconvene at ten am this morning. Americans
feeling extra cold temperatures and for some the first snowfall
of the year. I saw two feet possible. Or in

(04:44):
the Chicago area.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
Wow, that has a lot of snowe My sister called
yesterday in the home office of north Tonawanda, New York. Yeah,
first no fall yesterday.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
Ah see, it's fun to watch it.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
Oh no, she thought it was grossed of gods.

Speaker 3 (04:56):
If you live in it, you didn't get it.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
You live in it, you're not down here.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
Yeah, here is in southeast Texas. So we aren't going
to see snow right now. But we do have a
fire and for some of us freeze warnings this morning,
we'll warm up to sixties this afternoon. Continue those temperature
swings because we'll be back in the eighties by midweek
and we'll stay in the eighty range into next weekend.
If you're shopping at Target, you're probably going to notice

(05:20):
things are getting awkwardly happier. It's mandate from the company. Supposedly,
they launched this program called the ten four program, and
it requires their workers to engage with customers within close proximity.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
So if you're.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
Working, did you trying to get your work done and
you're within ten feet of a shopper, you're told to
smile at them. Okay, when the shopper comes within four
feet of a worker, employees must ask if they need
help finding anything, or ask how's your day going?

Speaker 1 (05:52):
Didn't I hate this so much? Did somebody get in
trouble for that when they were advertising for they were
looking for workers and they said hiring smiley bright you know, smiling,
hiring smiling faces applied within and they got in trouble
for that. It's like, what's the problem You're gonna work

(06:12):
for me?

Speaker 3 (06:12):
I want to file exactly.

Speaker 4 (06:14):
I know there's some like sun and ski sports, a bathroom, bodyworks.
Somebody talks to you every four feet and I hate
it so much.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
That's the thing. It's just like I don't I didn't
know to ask for help.

Speaker 4 (06:23):
I get I get the intention, but at a certain
point it's like, let's not do the like four feet things.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
But you've been places where no one acknowledges.

Speaker 4 (06:30):
Absolutely, I understand that you've also been in the place
where did you shut up?

Speaker 1 (06:34):
I will ask problem you need to help.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
Walmart and Disney have this similar proximity rule. It's working
for them, So we'll see about target. Uh, Kim Kardashian
in the news because she took to Instagram Stories to
post the results of her bar exam. You know, she's
been going about this for like six years now. She said, quote,
I'm not a lawyer yet. She shared that she had
failed at the bar exam and promised no shortcuts, no

(06:59):
giving up quo. Falling short is in failure.

Speaker 1 (07:02):
It's fuel many people fail the bar exam.

Speaker 3 (07:05):
So many people.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
I actually looked, sixteen thousand people take this California two
day bar exam.

Speaker 3 (07:10):
Right.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
The passway is just over sixty three percent, so you
have to take it multiple times, like go girl. Big
Weekend the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was Saturday night.

Speaker 3 (07:21):
Did you catch any previews?

Speaker 1 (07:24):
I watched some of it, did you?

Speaker 3 (07:26):
Was it really eight hours?

Speaker 1 (07:28):
Yeah? Disney Plus Yeah. Yeah it was long. Yeah it was.
It was long and raw, like you know, the real show.
It was. It was the show. It wasn't edited down.
They're gonna they're gonna.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
Edit it down, okay, and replay.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
It eventually show it on ABC. But yeah, I did
watch some.

Speaker 3 (07:43):
Of it, Okay.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
Bag Company, White Stripes, Outcast, Cindy Lapper, Soundgarden, and more.
Officially inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
on Saturday night, And of course we'd heard like the
rumors about who was going to be there and who
was going to be playing.

Speaker 3 (07:55):
All those details are finally out. Those are Houston saidlines.

Speaker 1 (08:01):
What a fourth quarter? Oh wow for the Texans. Yeah, dude,
that game looked over and then it wasn't over.

Speaker 4 (08:10):
The Texans gotta win yesterday, coming back to beat the
Jaguars thirty six to twenty nine.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
They trailed twenty nine to ten.

Speaker 4 (08:16):
Heading into the fourth quarter before scoring twenty six straight points.
It was the second largest comeback in franchise history. The
only time that they had more than that was when
they had a twenty one point come back over the
Chargers in twenty thirteen. Davis Mills and the Mills Mafia
made people proud, right.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
I tried. I tried on Friday, Davis Mafia. Stand up,
Davis Chills, I called it.

Speaker 4 (08:37):
He threw two hundred ninety two yards and two touchdowns
in that game.

Speaker 1 (08:41):
Defense made plays when they had to.

Speaker 4 (08:43):
Will Anderson maybe Defensive Player of the Year, I don't know.
He makes clutch plays when you need him to make
clutch plays. He's an absolute dog out there. Texans to
four and five in the year. They're gonna play the
Titans on Sunday. On Monday Nights Football, Jordan Love and
the Packers are gonna host Jalen Hurts and the Eagles.
Packers are one and a half point favorites, and that
one kickoff is gonna be at seven fifteen. You could
watch it on ABC and ESPN. And in basketball, the

(09:05):
Texans weren't the only team in Houston with a comeback
win yesterday. The Rockets also came back to beat the
Bucks one.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
One fifteen.

Speaker 4 (09:12):
They trailed for most of the game before outscoring Milwaukee
twenty two to seven over the last four and a
half minutes. Opera and Shangun was getting some crap from
Giannis Attenta Koompo from Milwaukee, and then he just bitched him.
And then Kevin Durant stepped up when he needed to.
He had thirty one points in the day to lead
the team in scoring. Rockets are now six and three
to start the season. It was a great day for
Houston sports yesterday. That is what's going on in sports

(09:34):
all right. Here we go four hours of pain. You
want the first phone call, come get it. All right,

Speaker 1 (10:36):
But it's good man. I mean, I think this is
kind of I think we've been waiting for these I have.

of the game is in your hands. Oh wow, the integrity. Okay,

come walting in here and throwing a game. You can't.

(10:59):

Speaker 10 (17:52):
But more importantly, and I've played in the last four
years of the Hall of Famer eight times and I've
lost seven of those. I'm like tyld Dyes Hall of
Famer than David Hall of Fame.

you were jet lagged or something. Well sexy James, four
time Hall of Famer, Father John, two time Hall of Famer.
There's sixteen people in the hall. Alex does not want
to have those brackets broke.

Speaker 10 (19:05):
Yeah, but now effect the games may make it.

Speaker 1 (19:07):
Oh wow, who even cares about brackets?

Speaker 3 (19:11):

Speaker 1 (19:45):

this answer.

Speaker 10 (19:51):
Four years.

Speaker 1 (19:52):
Who who is the Houston Texans backup quarterback?

Speaker 10 (19:57):
Oh? Well, I mean for talking currently, I ain't David
Mill or the men from Florida. I get David Mills.

Speaker 1 (20:06):
Davis Mills is still the back. He's not the starter.
He's starting. He's not the starter's starting. All right, John's
on the board, whether you like it or not. All right, James, Sorry, Alan,
I'm so happy right, here we go. Let's go question
number two? Which poll? Okay, James north Pole? Which poll?

(20:38):
Does Santa Claus call home the North Pole? He got it.

Speaker 3 (20:42):
I love this so much.

Speaker 1 (20:43):
Oh my god, he written early on two questions.

Speaker 3 (20:46):
Now I want to think of a South Pole question.

Speaker 1 (20:49):
Now you're mad at yourself.

Speaker 3 (20:51):
Okay, okay, this is a good game. Let's go.

Speaker 1 (20:55):
To Santa Claus not living. Oh, that would have been dirty, dirty,
so dirty. Don't even think like that. Right for the win,
sexy James, John, what number represents the month of November?

(21:16):
Don't even look at me? John got it.

Speaker 3 (21:22):
I can't breath.

Speaker 1 (21:23):
That was a tie eleven tie. Here we go. Mm

James Jake?

Speaker 9 (21:43):
There?

Speaker 3 (21:45):
What did he say?

Speaker 1 (21:46):
What did he say? Shakespeare? Shakespeare?

Speaker 16 (21:48):
Yes?

Speaker 17 (21:50):
Correct?

Speaker 1 (21:50):
Dance?

Speaker 18 (21:51):
Are I feel like John tried?

Speaker 1 (22:04):
He was forced to answer that one question. I knew
he's been a season ticket holder forever, so I knew
he could not get that one wrong.

Speaker 3 (22:11):
I was not let down by that game.

Speaker 1 (22:12):
He did try to get in on the November question,
that was a tie? All right. No part of me
feels like gone through the game today.

Speaker 3 (22:20):
Chop John a way to be a team player.

Speaker 1 (22:22):
First time ever losing on a game five too for John.
Thank you John, Thank you guys. I'm doing James.

Speaker 3 (22:30):
It's good to have you.

Speaker 1 (22:32):
James. You want to be back in the Hall of Fame, right, Yes,
I do.

Speaker 7 (22:37):
I don't want to practice.

Speaker 1 (22:39):
I do not do not worry about that. That's not
for you to worry about.

Speaker 3 (22:43):
Let's go. Please do this.

Speaker 1 (22:45):
Worry about it. I want to hear that he's not

Speaker 8 (22:53):
The Rod Ryan shown four.

Speaker 1 (22:55):
Five, the bus ninety four five, The bus on he

Speaker 3 (23:11):
About it, mo, I feel really good about it.

Speaker 1 (23:13):
John didn't throw it, or did he?

Speaker 3 (23:15):
Alex, he's a really good actor.

Speaker 1 (23:18):
I don't think John would. I'm gonna round, he said,
smirk right off your face. I was in the process
of sexy James wins the game. He's a four time
Hall of Famer. I'm in the process of getting his
victory speech and my computer just just pieced out, So
we may have lost the Facebook feed and the YouTube

(23:40):
feed as well, I don't know. I'm looking for Chili.
I haven't seen him, so I'm restarting over here. So
I don't have a victory speech, but the fresh out
of bed head to head challenge, here's your current champion,
and the guy's got such a great voice.

Speaker 19 (23:55):
It was something like, this is sexy James, and I'm
before time hall of famer, and uh, I might bust
those brackets tuned in on Tuesday bitches.

Speaker 1 (24:06):
Something like that. He was gonna do something like that. Yeah,
all right, I brought in some fun fact for you guys.

Speaker 3 (24:13):
It's the fuck that to the day.

Speaker 20 (24:16):
We make you look smart in funny your buddies, It's
the fuck that to the day.

Speaker 1 (24:25):
All right, there's fun facts for you today. There's Captain Cash. Hey,
how brother, good morning. So the movie Dazed and Confused
was that Matthew McConaughey's first movie.

Speaker 16 (24:38):
I think so.

Speaker 1 (24:39):
Maybe? All right, alright, alright he came up with that line.
The budget for Dazed and Confused was about six point
nine million dollars. Six point nine million ALEX. Over one
million dollars was spent on getting the rights to all
of those seventy songs that they used in the movie.

Speaker 3 (25:02):
Slow Rad Take It Easy.

Speaker 1 (25:05):
I mean, I don't know what foghead. I don't know
how much that track was, but I mean there was
a ton of music in that movie and they paid

It was first used in a nineteen sixty one novel,

those Martian words that the main character uses, and it
means to understand empathetically perfect fit for the X. Finally,

(25:49):
fun fact. Silly string was originally created in the nineteen
seventies when a chemist was trying to invent an instant
spray on cast.

Speaker 3 (26:05):
That's neat like a broken bone.

Speaker 1 (26:08):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, Like he was trying to come up
with like a spray on cast, and then he came
up and then he said, oh, this is kind of cool. Strike.

Speaker 16 (28:45):
Hi?

Speaker 1 (28:46):
What's your name? Herbert? Herbert? Welcome to the fun Fact flashback?
What position did the player play in nineteen eighty two
when he won the NFL MVP Award? Kicker? He was
the kicker boom. I mean it wasn't even yeah, Mark Moseley.

(29:09):
He was with the Redskins. He made twenty out of
twenty one field goals that year, which is good. But
that season, that must have been just a crappy NFL season.
I mean, all respect to.

Speaker 2 (29:19):
Kickers in all right, do you think they all make
the joke now though? Like, like you know, what happened
in eighty three could still happen today.

Speaker 1 (29:25):
Like did you not do anything in eighty two when
you played? He wins? What are you giving him?

Speaker 2 (29:30):
Hey, Herbert, We've got the download code for Battlefield six.
For you, it's their biggest launch in franchise history and
you've got it, my friend.

Speaker 1 (29:38):
Oh dude, thanks for being a part of homeroom man.
Thank you. Have a great week well, Herbert, thank you, Herbert,
thank you so much. Forty five degrees outside right now.
There's a bunch of fires around that. There's one in
clear Lake right now that we're seeing a bunch of

(29:59):
different fires going on some of these guys today, no
rain high of sixty two. Mote with Houston's headlines.

Speaker 3 (30:06):
It's also the marine's birthday.

Speaker 1 (30:07):
What Yeah, it's.

Speaker 3 (30:10):
Breaking news that it's a day.

Speaker 1 (30:14):
Happy birthday, devil dogs.

Speaker 2 (30:16):
It's day forty one of the government's shut down. The
Senate voted to move forward on a House passed bill
to upon the government late last night. It is a
major step towards ending the shutdown. The vote was sixty
forty eight. Democrats joined Republicans to advance the measure that
has already failed fourteen times.

Speaker 3 (30:31):
Okay, so now the House will need.

Speaker 2 (30:33):
To approve the bill before it can go to the
President to be signed. No zero forecaster when the shutdown
will end, but we know the Senate will reconvene at
ten am this morning. Okay, I mentioned earlier that a
few of our counties have that frost warning, but also
the fire warning row. That's what you saw the pictures
on the news. Over and over again. We've seen a
couple of house fires this and Clear Lake is a

(30:55):
business fire. It's been happening early this morning, and the
Houston Fire Department is reminding everyone be cautious. We're turning
on our heaters for the first time. You got to
be mindful if you're using your space heaters. You can't
use your soave to eat your home. And it's also
a good reminder to check those co two monitors. I
got to do that when I get home. But the
cold air is not the primary cause of the increased

(31:15):
fire danger. It's outside your home because it's so windy.
We actually have a trifecta for fire risk, the wind,
the low humidity, and the dry vegetation. So a spark
can lead to flames quickly. That's why we're seeing all
these fires. If you're planning on traveling to visit friends
and family for the holiday season, usually when you're hosting,

(31:36):
you say come stay as long as you'd like.

Speaker 1 (31:39):
Oh yeah, you say that but you don't mean it right.

Speaker 3 (31:42):
How long is too long?

Speaker 4 (31:43):
There's a new survey, however long they were there on
Christmas vacation, because they're there for like six weeks.

Speaker 1 (31:47):
It fell. It feels like that. I was told that
house guests are like fish. Yeah, they start to stink
after three days. Oh, I've never heard that.

Speaker 3 (31:57):
According to this survey.

Speaker 2 (31:59):
It's six days is like the money, it's like a week.
It seems like about the mac feels pretty good. U
Thirty three percent of people say they'll start dropping hints
when it's time to go. But of course all guests
do not have the same timetable, because mothers report that kids.

Speaker 3 (32:14):
Can stay as long as they would like.

Speaker 2 (32:20):
The biggest problem with hosting isn't too much work or
guess getting annoying.

Speaker 3 (32:23):
It's just space.

Speaker 2 (32:24):
Forty percent of people so they don't have a guest room,
so they're sleeping on guests or sleeping on couches or
just like around their.

Speaker 3 (32:29):
House and they just want their house back.

Speaker 1 (32:31):
It just upsets your routine. Yeah, and then there's different
kinds of house guests. There's some house guests that if
it's family, they just do whatever they want when they
want and that's cool. But if it's a house guest
that you have to entertain the whole time, and you
got to make sure that you're keeping them busy and
there's activities. Yeah yeah, yeah, that's those are the ones
that are kind of a lot of work.

Speaker 9 (32:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (32:51):
I love having people at my house. I know, we
got to mention the Marines this morning. But also today
is Sesame Street Day.

Speaker 1 (33:00):
Oh that came out in nineteen sixty nine.

Speaker 2 (33:01):
Yes, November tenth, nineteen sixty nine. That's fifty six years ago.
So say, Same Street turns fifty six today.

Speaker 1 (33:08):
Everybody's watched it, right, Yes, it doesn't matter. Well how
old you are. Everyone's watched Sesame Street.

Speaker 3 (33:14):
And they still are making new episodes.

Speaker 1 (33:15):
Yeah, just on a streaming platform. Yeah, somebody's keeping it going.

Speaker 2 (33:19):
There's a list of lessons you learned from Sesame Street
as a child. Cherish your friendships, celebrate yourself whenever you can,
and remember it's okay to let things go.

Speaker 1 (33:32):
And the cookies rock cookies rock. The count taught me
to count. Yeah alongo yeah three. Yeah, Sesame Street was awesome.

Speaker 3 (33:40):
I knowed that it just like shaped all of us
and the people that.

Speaker 1 (33:43):
Were on there mister Hopper or Hooper. They were on there.

Speaker 2 (33:45):
Forever however, yep, and you remember them and you see
them and you're like, oh, you have to google them
and find out what's going on in their lives.

Speaker 3 (33:51):
Now.

Speaker 2 (33:52):
Hailey Williams has quote leaked her tour dates.

Speaker 3 (33:56):
For twenty twenty six.

Speaker 1 (33:57):
Then that makes it just that out right.

Speaker 3 (33:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (34:01):
The new tour is supporting her latest solo album, Ego
Death at a bachelorette party. The announcement came the same
day she received four Grammy nominations.

Speaker 3 (34:10):
Shout out to you girl.

Speaker 2 (34:11):
Twenty dates in the North America part of this tour.

Speaker 3 (34:14):
I see that.

Speaker 2 (34:15):
She has one Texas stop in May in Austin wamp
Water from your Eyes Opening.

Speaker 3 (34:22):
Most of the shows those are Houston's headlines.

Speaker 1 (34:25):
You mentioned the Grammy nominations, that's why they came out.
That's on the music blog page today. I always same
with you. It's like, do we bore people and go
through all of that, like the Grammy nods and who's
up for what? Some of it's boring, some of it's interesting.
I got the rock categories and stuff all up on
the music blog page, so you can go when you
check that out, But I think the most interesting thing
is the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction highlights

(34:46):
that has its own blog page. Come on, I mean,
the greatest fourth corner in Texans history might be to
Thoms did get.

Speaker 4 (34:56):
Away yesterday come back to be the Jags thirty six
to twenty nine, field twenty nine to ten heading into
the fourth quarter before scoring twenty six straight points. It
was the second largest comeback in franchise history.

Speaker 1 (35:08):
Davis Mills and the Mills.

Speaker 4 (35:09):
Mafia three for two hundred and ninety two yards and
two touchdowns in the game. The defense made plays when
they had to in the fourth quarter. Texas are now
four and five on the year. They're gonna play the
Titans on Sunday. On Monday Night Football, Jordan Love and
the Packers are gonna host Jalen Hurts and the Eagles.
Kickoff is gonna be at seven to fifteen. You can
watch it on ABC and ESPN. In basketball, Attacks joined
the only team in Houston with a comeback win yesterday.

(35:31):
The Rockets also came back to beat the Bucks one
fifteen twelve for most of the game before outscoring Milwaukee
twenty two to seven over the last four and a
half minutes. Kevin Durant had thirty one points on the
day to lead the whole team in scoring. Rockets are
now six and three to start the season that was
going on in sports.

Speaker 1 (35:47):
All right, here we go, guys, the Texas Hammer Game
coming up next hour. Guitarvest comes back and we launch
into it for two weeks straight, spitting the wheel of guitars,
blowing out an autographed guitar each and every day. You
want to take a look at the wheel, It's the

(36:08):
stories at rod Ryan Show on Instagram and Facebook. We'll
get rolling with that at a twenty big concert announcement
coming up at nine. Busy show today, guys, I.

Speaker 8 (36:17):
Have the rod Ryan Morning Show, six Am.

Speaker 3 (36:21):
The Buzz.

Speaker 1 (36:25):
Ninety four five, the Buzz, fuel and hemorrhage in my hands.
Good morning, rod Ryan Show. Thank you for being on
board with us today. I hope you guys had a
great weekend. I have a busy right. I haven't had
a chance to get into most six picks. I saw
mo over the weekend, so I don't know if any
gala gala gala with direction? Do you go with that.

Speaker 3 (36:49):
Wherever your heart takes you.

Speaker 1 (36:51):
Friday night, there was a gala and Moe was the
host of it. I got to meet your old co host.

Speaker 3 (36:57):
Oh my goodness, wasn't that wild?

Speaker 1 (36:58):
Yeah? I got to sit with him and talk with
him a little bit. Great guy. I'm like, oh god,
so much nicer than me. So nice.

Speaker 3 (37:06):
Stop it.

Speaker 1 (37:07):
You did great. You did an awesome job. He did great.
You looked great. On Instagram, I posted a couple of pictures.
You really, really, really really did a great job seeing
that gala. But I can't wait to get into the
rest of your pictures. So those are on links and
guests getting set up for the Texas Hammer Game. Yes,
you were going to play that, and uh and then

(37:30):
guitarvest is back and I'm looking at the wheel over here,
and Ghost Filter, Wolfgang Van Halen, Black Keys, three Days, Grace, Blue,
October Offspring, Bangers. Okay, everything's a banger on this thing.
Marilyn Manson, Chevelle Limp, Biscuit. And for the first time ever,
there is a spot on the wheel that says your choice.

(37:53):
You can have your choice of many guitar you want.
You get that. I will keep that on the wheel
the whole game one. It's not a one on one
thing now, there's fourteen spaces on the wheel, there's fourteen
guitars that are up there at all times. There are
about twenty guitars that I have to choose from Befoy.
We just came out of the gate with massive absolute masks,

(38:16):
and then you know what's fun are those those Buzzfest guitars.
So what's on there? Buzzfest twenty two as corn Shine
down three to eleven, Red Jumpsuit, Pop a Roach ten
years Blue, October, Hoobastank Theory, Amberlyn Tody's Framing, Hanley Electric Touch,
and Aranda or Aranda. I said, Randa. It's probably Oranda.

(38:40):
So those Buzzfest guitars are fun because there's just names
all over the place. I mean, they are literally all
over the place. Some sad news over the weekend, and
you know, we always want to keep it light, tight
and bright around here. But I received a disturbing email
on Saturday and we lost somebody that I think if
you've listened to this show for any number of years,

(39:02):
you've heard him on the air with us before. He
was a great Navy veteran. He would have called me
today for sure. Because the Navy is a division of
the Marines. So he would have called today, he would
have been at bare minimum. He would have emailed me today.
But so many of you over the years have heard
his truck horn and I really really was upset to
hear this.

Speaker 16 (39:22):
JD.

Speaker 1 (39:23):
The truck Driver has passed away. I got an email.
The dude emailed me Friday morning. He was at the
Lone Star Rally. He sent me some photographs. He's like, brother,
I heard you wanted some photographs. Boom, and you know,
he was like that, and I'm going through you know.
I got a bunch of his emails here, and he

(39:43):
always sent in words for read my Lips. He sent
in words this week for read my Lips. He was
a proud Navy veteran. He would always sign his emails
to me, JD. The truck Driver, Navy veteran. Here's a
picture of a he made a Cajun shrimpberger just like
a couple of weeks ago. I got an email from

(40:03):
him Friday morning. He was at the Lone Star Rally
this weekend. He was a biker. He was a lifelong biker,
but he was always a Navy veteran. I talked about
it with him. He just came out to Willie's grill
and ice house. No, he probably got a chance to
meethim for the first time. But he was there. He
was asking me. He's like, brother, Rod, is there a

(40:23):
place where I could park my truck? He was in
his big rig and I'm like, I don't know. You
got to figure that out. And he's like, I'll figure
it out. I'll be there. And I think he parked
like in Target and walked over. I mean, he just
wanted to be a part of it. He bought some
T shirts. Just a great dude. So many of you
met him. I put it up on our Facebook page.
I saw that his sister had posted, and I didn't
know JD. I mean I knew JD from you know, years,

(40:45):
I didn't know his family, but it was his sister Terry.
I got ahold of a post that she put out
there that JD transition unexpectedly. She said she's gonna miss
him so much. And I don't have any details, but

(41:05):
I think he was at the Lone Star rally and
maybe he had a heart attack. So I put it
up on our Facebook page, and so many of you
had such beautiful words because you heard him on the
air with us before and he was a great guy,
and he came out to the events, and he came
out to the things, and he always donated and helped
us out with our charities, and he was just a

(41:26):
really really good guy. It made it made me very
happy to see that his sister saw it. Yeah, so
somehow she must have been told. And I never met
her before, but she was reading all the things that
you guys were writing about, and it was really really nice.
I mean everything, I can't even imagine, like she had

(41:48):
to be so happy to read just the people that
were touched by him and just enjoyed his energy on
the air with us and his calls and the truck horn,
you know what I mean. Like he was the guy
it's like JD, I know you're out there, and he
would check in all over the place. He'd be listening
to us on iHeartRadio. And I always thanked him for that.
I said, man, you know, you could listen to whatever

(42:09):
you want, you know, if you get out of our range.
He's like, I got that. I got that app dude,
And it keeps me connected to Houston while I'm out
on the road in my truck. And I really really
always appreciated that, but you guys were beautiful. You guys
had some beautiful words to say. I posted it. I
don't know Saturday afternoon when I found out about it,
and I was very very sad. But miss you. JD

(42:31):
great long time listener to the Orod Ride Show. And
I know that many of you over the years got
a chance to meet him, and he would be greatly
missed for sure. Okay, call man to win the best
game in Houston. Who wants it? Well, let's move forward here.
We've got the Texas Hammer Game. Let I don't know
if you're gonna be allowed to do that. Last week

Speaker 4 (43:41):

States Marine Corps. Theresa, bring the two hundred and fiftieth
birthday today, birthday.

Speaker 1 (43:48):
You have a brother that's the Marine you Yeah, is
he all super gung ho about this day? But you've
been doing this for a while. Can you think of
another Can you think of like a coast Guard guy
that like is so fired up about the coast guards
birthday that he calls like note one hundred and fifty
days out to let you know that, Hey, just so
you know it's one hundred and fifty days out. I
will get Marines that will call me two hundred days

(44:09):

There's no other branch now that loves their birthday like
the Marines. And it's two fifty. It's a big one.
So thank you, thank you all, thank you all.

Speaker 16 (44:26):
Yes.

Speaker 4 (44:27):
Also trending is the Manuel class He and former Guardians
teammate Luis Ortiz are charged with fraud, conspiracy, and bribery
in a scheme where they were rigging pitches to win
Better's money. Talking for this too, but yeah, not a
great look for the sport. And then Davis Mills is trending,

(44:48):
the leader of Mills Mafia, brought the Texans back from
a deficit yesterday. They won thirty six to twenty nine,
scoring twenty six unanswered points against the Jaguars, and a
lot of people are pretty stoked about it at Mills Mafi.

Speaker 1 (45:00):
Do we have a quarterback controversy? Now? I don't know.

Speaker 3 (45:03):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (45:05):
Pretty good in that fourth quarter, that's just training at night.
You provide the buzz.

Speaker 1 (45:08):
Who's faster him or Tom Brady? When he was running,
he looked like Tom Brady running. He's faster than Brady
and he got it in though. He got the job done. Man,
it was awesome. What a great fourth quarter. Unbelievable fourth
quarter for sure. Okay, I didn't even talk about what
we're giving away right now. Everyone knows we're playing the
Texas Hammer game. I'll get that started. But tell everybody
what they're trying to win.

Speaker 2 (45:28):

part of you thinks that he through the game mode.

Speaker 3 (48:52):
No, No, Sexy James really good.

Speaker 1 (48:55):
He sounded like he was trying to win. I don't
know if he was throwing the game. I couldn't pick
up on it at all. So he doesn't go into
the hall. Sexy James wins Texas Hammer game. Second game, Guitarvest.
Next big event on the show eight twenty. We're gonna
spin the wheel and we're gonna start giving out autographed
guitars every single day two weeks straight. And I guess

(49:18):
the big thing about that is there is a kind
of a wild card. There's fourteen spots on the wheel
and we've never ever, ever put your choice on the
wheel before. You could just say, you know what, boom,
you could pick any of the guitars that you want
if that comes up. But on the wheel is Wolfgang

(49:40):
van Halen. A van Halen is on the wheel, three days,
Grace Blue, October Offspring, Marilyn Manson, Destruts, Limp Biscuit on
the wheel. Wow, so you had already mentioned this. MO
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction seremy ceremony went down.

(50:01):
I was watching some clips. It was how many hours
eight eight hours Disney plus had it. I was trying to,
you know, fast forward and go through different things, and they're.

Speaker 3 (50:11):
Going to edit it down and play like have a replay, right.

Speaker 1 (50:13):
Yes, I think that's it's going to air. I think
ABC might air it. ABC, Disney, they're all in. Yeah, yeah,
so bad Company, White Stripes outcast, Sidney Lauper's Sound Garden
all go in. Chaperone inducted, Sydney Lauper. I know that,
you guys love chaperone. She was so terrible. She couldn't read,

(50:35):
she didn't put her contacts.

Speaker 2 (50:36):
In what she was.

Speaker 1 (50:37):
It was bad. It was bad. The thing about watching
it how I did. It's not edited, it's raw, it's happening,
it's right there. I mean, they're just running the show
as you're if you were in the audience, so you
will not see that when it's all cleaned up, and
they will edit it a ton.

Speaker 2 (50:57):
But all of the greats and music were in one
room and you looked like that in front.

Speaker 3 (51:01):
Of all of them.

Speaker 1 (51:02):
Ma'am, Yeah, what are you trying to do? What she
was wearing was, I guess a tribute to Cindy Lauper.
I just don't like when somebody tries to make it
about themselves. You're you're there for Cindy Lauper, you know.
But what she was wearing was a tribute. It was
something that Cindy wore before. So, okay, I want to
get the Sound Guarden in a second. Jack White they
were induct White stripes were inducted by Iggy Pop, who

(51:26):
not only wore a shirt, but a jacket on top
of it. Well, da Big Day, Giggy Pop was not shirtless.
Meg White fifteen year streak of not being seen anywhere.
Meg White not there, just jacket. She's not interested in
any of the stuff. She did not want.

Speaker 3 (51:43):
She just he reference.

Speaker 1 (51:45):
He did. Yeah, but she's the most reluctant rock star ever.
She didn't want any of the fortune or fame, and
that's why the White Stripes kind of disbanded. She just
didn't want that life. She didn't want that lifestyle. Andre
three thousand and Big Boy both showed up for Outcast induction.
Andre did not perform, and to be honest with you,
he's my favorite of the two. Big Boy went on

(52:06):
stage and he performed. That company went in, but I'm playing.
David Letterman inducted Warren Zevonne. He said they were friends. Now,
when we said that Jim Carrey was going to be
putting Soundgarden in, we didn't know, like, what's the connection there?
And apparently he was really good friends with Chris Cornell,
and he talked about when he hosted Saturday Night Live,

(52:28):
he insisted that Soundgarden be the musical guest, And does
the celebrity have that kind of power?

Speaker 3 (52:36):
Know that you could have that flex. That's pretty cool.

Speaker 1 (52:38):
I mean he said it, so I don't think he'd
go out there and lie.

Speaker 2 (52:42):
Maybe if it's on Brandon not too far out there,
and then they can make it happen.

Speaker 1 (52:47):
In nineteen ninety six, Soundgarden would have already well, super
Unknown was nineteen ninety four. That's where they really broke
huge and then down on the upside. So they did
have new music out at the time, so it completely
would have made sense. But yeah, Jim Carrey inducted them
into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, insisted that
they beat the musical guest when he hosted, and then

(53:08):
he broke into one of his most beloved characters as
he's putting him in. I want to play you some
audio of Jim Carrey bringing up or inducting Soundguard.

Speaker 15 (53:18):
After the show, they handed me what is to this
day one of my most prized possessions, the Fender Telecaster
Chris played on.

Speaker 1 (53:26):
The show, signed by the whole band. Pay no attention
to the burnmarks on the pit guard.

Speaker 15 (53:34):
Someone backstage, you're playing with matches.

Speaker 1 (53:52):
Brandy Carlyleaylor momson went up there and helped her out
with us. It was pretty great. It's gonna be interesting

(54:15):
to see what they do. Tony, which is Chris Cornell's daughter,
she sang with just an acoustic guitar and a cellist.
You just sing, she sings, She sings her ass off. Dang,
no pressure, and it was Anne Nancy Nancy Wilson from Heart.
The guitar was out of tune.

Speaker 2 (54:33):
Oh dang it, come on the guitar.

Speaker 1 (54:38):
I'm not trying to crap on the performance, but the
guitar was incredibly out of tune the entire time, and
Tony handled it like a champ. She sang the song.
The cellist was nails. I don't know how I'm gonna
fix that in post production. When we finally see this
thing on ABC, it's running on Disney Plus right now,
did anyone else see just the guitar was wrong. I'm like,

(54:58):
that's the kid. This is the moment. This could make her.
You know, like, we don't know what she's going to
do yet. We don't know what Tony's gonna do. Is
you know she can obviously sing? Does she want this life?
Was that going to be the springboard? Was that going
to be the launch? Many people have seen her sing
at different things before, but this could have been the one,
and it was destroyed by that acoustic guitar. And I'm

(55:21):
not even blaming Ann Wilson or Nancy Wilson, which it's
just the guitar is done. We got highlights. We have
a whole page up for the Rock and Roll Hall
of Fame induction ceremony on the World Famous Rod Ryan
Show page.

Speaker 8 (55:35):
They're on Ryan Show ninety four or five.

Speaker 1 (55:38):
Experience Interventure into the Cosmic Unknown ninety four or five,
The Bus Breaking Benjamin and Awaken, Good Morning Rob Ryan
Show on this milk Monday. Sunny skies today, no rain
hides hip around sixty two up her forties, maybe fifty
outside right now, it's cold. It's most six picks Mo

(56:01):
was out Friday night hosting a gala. I got to
see her great job at the gala. I got to
hang out with with your hubs and everybody was looking really,
really nice. Now you had to go and get makeup done,
like right after the show.

Speaker 3 (56:14):
You know how that goes. I don't know how to
do that.

Speaker 1 (56:16):
You do professional makeup job. I'm looking at your six picks. Oh,
so Friday night, your house. I just wanted me to
see if I got this strike. So Friday night, I'm
with you having some drinks. You're doing a great job.
You're MCing the whole thing. We're all at Minute Made.
I'm sorry, we're all at dyke In Park. Yes, that's
where the gala was. Friday was Briggs's third birthday, sure was.

(56:37):
I'm having drinks with you. And your son's birthday is
that day?

Speaker 3 (56:44):
I know he's three.

Speaker 1 (56:45):
You guys celebrated later on in the weekend.

Speaker 2 (56:47):
We celebrated starting Thursday, so he had plenty of celebration.
That's also why I got my makeup done early on
Friday so I could go home and open presence with them,
so he felt loved.

Speaker 3 (56:56):
You know, kids, they don't actually know what the date is.

Speaker 1 (56:58):
It's got a bluey cake, yes.

Speaker 3 (57:00):
Blue, big into blue right now?

Speaker 1 (57:02):
Yeah, the bluey cake. That's awesome. And then of course
I always look ford to your food pictures and your
six picks, and uh, you made chicken and dumplings.

Speaker 3 (57:10):
I made homemade dumplings.

Speaker 1 (57:11):
Homemade dumplings.

Speaker 3 (57:12):
I felt pretty good about it.

Speaker 1 (57:13):
Yes, that's like, is that a regular of yours or
I've never made dumplings before.

Speaker 2 (57:17):
I usually just cut the biscuits from the can yeah,
and that's awesome. But the homemade was pretty good because
you can control the seasonings.

Speaker 3 (57:24):
A little bitter.

Speaker 1 (57:24):
Yeah yeah, yeah, great picks. Thanks, great picks. So most
six picks on the world famous Rod ranchol block page
at the Buzz dot com.

Speaker 8 (57:33):
Houston's Rock and Alternatives The Rod.

Speaker 9 (57:35):
Rost Morning Show six to ten AM ninety four or five.

Speaker 1 (57:39):
Buzz ninety four or five the Buzz. Lincoln Park's new Divide.
Two Grammy nominations that I can see for Lincoln Park
Best Rock Performance the Emptiness Machine and then Best Rock
Album from zero Big Year for Lincoln Park. Young Blood

(58:01):
got a bunch of nominations. Okay, happy about that. You know,
I didn't think his rendition of changes. I thought it
was good. I knew it was good for him. And
this is at the Ozzy Osbourne the tribute show that
Ozzy when he was still there for it, back to
the beginning. He did changes, he had new no on guitar,

(58:22):
and I thought it was really really good. But I
knew it was going to be good for him. It
was a good moment for him. He's nominated for a
Grammy for that specific performance too. So best of luck
to young Blood and everybody else. All the grammy stuff
is on the music blog page LinkedIn guests. Not one
of you'll look at it. That's fine, all right, it's
a lot. It's like, beat my head against the wall

(58:43):
and say, why am I worrying about this grammy stuff.
No one's going to look at him. But luck, right
now somebody will look at him.

Speaker 3 (58:48):
You do the headlines. I'm gonna go.

Speaker 1 (58:49):
Leut Mo's six picks. That's what everybody's looking at right now,
sweet baby. And then like dumplings, any dumplings make their
way in here?

Speaker 3 (58:59):
They did. There's not a single dumpling left.

Speaker 1 (59:02):
Damn it. Sailor the dumplings. I know, tailor ate all
the dumplings.

Speaker 3 (59:08):
She probably picks the peas out, but she ate the dumplings.

Speaker 1 (59:11):
Sun these guys today, no rain, highs of around sixty two.
There's Mo right there with Houston's headline.

Speaker 3 (59:15):
Good morning.

Speaker 2 (59:15):
It's day forty one of the government shutdown.

Speaker 3 (59:20):
Shut Okay, so.

Speaker 2 (59:23):
The Senate voted to move forward on a House passed
bill to fund the government last night.

Speaker 3 (59:28):
Don't get too excited. It does mark a major step
towards ending the shutdown.

Speaker 2 (59:31):
But but they gotta get the House to approve the
bill before it can go to the President to be signed.
So still no forecasting when the shutdown will end. The
Senate will reconvene at ten am this morning.

Speaker 3 (59:44):
Okay, it's a little glimmer.

Speaker 2 (59:46):
Americans are feeling extra cold this morning. Cold temperatures and
the first snowfall of the year for a lot of folks.
I saw possibly two feet of snow in the Chicago area.

Speaker 3 (59:55):
That's a lot of snow.

Speaker 1 (59:56):
We're Notre Dame game with snowing.

Speaker 3 (59:59):
Yes Bend, Indiana, so they had a big snow game.

Speaker 1 (01:00:02):
My sister sent me some pictures back in Buffalo and
the home office of north Tonawanda some snow, just the dusting.
She hates it, right, She's sent a barf emoji with it.

Speaker 2 (01:00:11):
If you have to live and function in it, She's like, oh,
it's so gross.

Speaker 1 (01:00:15):
It's snowing here again. Meanwhile, London and I are on
the video camera're like, oh my god, show us again, yeah,
show us again.

Speaker 2 (01:00:21):
Here in southeast Texas, we aren't going to see any
snow right now, but we do have fire and freeze
warnings for several counties. We're warming up to the sixties
this afternoon and continuing those temperature swings, because we'll be
back in the eighties by midweek and stay in the
eighties range through the weekend. All right, if you're shopping
at Tarje, you're probably going to notice things are awkwardly happier.

(01:00:45):
The company supposedly launched this program called the ten four program,
and it requires their workers to engage with customers as
customers get within close proximity to a worker. So, according
to this new standard, if you are with thin ten
feet of a shopper, the worker has been told to
smile at the shopper as they're getting closer systemic eye

(01:01:07):
contact waves say hello. Well, when the shopper gets within
four feet, the employee must ask if they need help
finding anything, or if they're directed to ask how their
day is going or similar pleasantries.

Speaker 1 (01:01:20):
I don't know how I feel about this.

Speaker 3 (01:01:23):
It's so awkward.

Speaker 1 (01:01:24):
I always feel like if I need help, I'll come
get you. Yes, except for when I'm at like lows
Er Home Deeple. I can never find.

Speaker 3 (01:01:30):
Anybody I feel that.

Speaker 2 (01:01:33):
But isn't it nice just to like acknowledge, like just
a smile, like if I need something, I'm going to
talk to you, But just acknowledge them.

Speaker 3 (01:01:38):
I'm there. I don't mind that, thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:01:40):
There's when they're prying is when I am.

Speaker 3 (01:01:44):
I done, I'm out.

Speaker 1 (01:01:45):
When was the last time you went furniture shopping?

Speaker 3 (01:01:47):
Oh it's been a long time.

Speaker 1 (01:01:49):
Oh, they stalk you're I'm like, I'm just here. I'm
just looking around. Those they really don't have something in mind,
and I'm just looking around. Yeah, And it's like they
will stalk you. And they were just like, okay, just
pop it in again. There's another place in town. I'm
not gonna name names, but if you wanted, they have
prepackaged meals.

Speaker 3 (01:02:07):
Oh, I know exactly where you're talking.

Speaker 1 (01:02:08):
As soon as soon as you put that story, it's
not even that big. As soon as you put that
in your hand, Like can I take that to the
register for you? Like they want you to buy that.
They don't want you thinking about it.

Speaker 3 (01:02:19):
And it's like change your mind.

Speaker 1 (01:02:21):
I have this, I know what you make. I got this,
and it's it's the most flop. They like jump on
you like a spider monkey, and they just they shop
with they shop with you. It's it's too much like overdoing.
That's the model of that place, and that's what they
I'm sure they do a ton of research and it
works this. I don't mind Target. I don't mind even

(01:02:45):
I didn't mind when that place was advertising hiring smiling faces.
They got in trouble for that where somebody was trying
to cause trouble by saying that, like what if I
don't smile, then don't work there?

Speaker 3 (01:02:56):
Yeah, I want people look in a cubicle if you
don't smile.

Speaker 4 (01:02:59):
Target has a little buttons you can push and O, hey,
I need somebody to come here.

Speaker 1 (01:03:02):
And really, this thing I don't know about that Video
Games is that they unlocked you like him there. It's like,
that's what I need, It's all I need.

Speaker 2 (01:03:09):
It's a Walmart and Disney have a very similar proximity rule,
so that's probably where Target got there.

Speaker 1 (01:03:14):
Do cvs have a thing a rule if they have
to greet you when you walk in Welcome to CBS,
Maybe because they always do behind the Yeah, I think that.

Speaker 3 (01:03:21):
Yeah, from like the back the pharmacists in the back closet.

Speaker 1 (01:03:25):
And that's that must be a mandate, you know. So
I think a lot of places have these things. It's
just we found out about the Target one.

Speaker 3 (01:03:31):
Yeah, kim Kay is back in the news.

Speaker 2 (01:03:33):
She took to Instagram Stories to post the results of
her bar exam. She said, quote, I'm not a lawyer,
yet after sharing she had failed the tests, she promised
no shortcuts, no giving up, and that quote falling short
isn't failure, it's fuel for her.

Speaker 3 (01:03:49):
So props her.

Speaker 2 (01:03:50):
Honestly, she's been doing this for like what six years?
And I did look up that sixteen thousand people take
this two day California bar exam every year and the
pass ray is just over sixty three percent.

Speaker 3 (01:04:00):
So I didn't think it was that high that I
was surprised by.

Speaker 1 (01:04:03):
That, didn't like, who is the real handsome JFK Junior
that couldn't pass? Yeah, Like he could not pass it.
I mean he may have taken it ten times. That's
how sh Yeah, no shame.

Speaker 3 (01:04:15):
Bad company.

Speaker 2 (01:04:16):
The White Stripes, Outcasts, Outcasts, Cyndey, Laupers, Soundgarden, and Moore
officially inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
Saturday night. The full eight hours were broadcast on Disney Plus.
Right now, they're editing it down so they can reshow
it in its purest or most beautiful form, if that
is what you want to see. Lots of headlines from

(01:04:37):
the night, and Rod has graciously posted all of them
up on the world famous Rod Ryan Show page at
the buzz stock Off.

Speaker 1 (01:04:43):
Did you see the picture of Jim Carrey with Taylor Momson?

Speaker 3 (01:04:46):
So cute?

Speaker 1 (01:04:47):
Kind of a twenty five years I could I could
send with it since they made The Grinch together. She
played little Cindy lu Who and she's all grown up
now and Jim looked great. But seeing them together and
then like the split screen of seeing them when you
know they they did the movie. I saw that a
bunch over the weekend, so appreciate it.

Speaker 16 (01:05:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:05:04):
The Rockber Hall of Fame, it was good. It was good.
I don't think it was great. I thought it was good.

Speaker 2 (01:05:09):
Will you watch the whole edited version of it?

Speaker 1 (01:05:13):
Yeah? Because I want to see the bad Company. I
didn't really see much of the white stripes. I'll tell
you the the Joe Cocker tribute with everybody out there singing.

Speaker 3 (01:05:22):
Oh at the very end is Derek Truck's a little
help from my friends.

Speaker 1 (01:05:25):
Oh my god. It was awesome and that's what they
closed with. It was Yeah, the Joe Cocker stuff was
surprisingly amazing. Since headlines, how about that fourth quarter. Yeah,
Texans got to win yesday.

Speaker 4 (01:05:38):
Came back to beat the Jaguars thirty six to twenty nine.
Trailede to ten adding into the fourth quarter before scoring
twenty six unanswered points. It was the second largest comeback
in franchise history. They are now four and five on
the year, and they're gonna put the Titans on Sunday.
On Monday N Football, Jordan Love and the Packers host
Jalen Hurts and the Eagles kickoff for that at seven fifteen,

(01:05:59):
and you can watch you're in ABC and ESPN and basketball.
The Texans weren't the only Houston team with a comeback
win yesterday. Rockets also came back to beat the Bucks one,
twenty two to one fifteen. They trailed for most of
the game before score outscoring Milwaukee twenty two to seven
over the last four and a half minutes. Kevin Durant
had thirty one points on the day to lead the
team in scoring. Rockets are now six and three to
start the season. That is what's going on in sports.

(01:06:21):
Some guy just turned on his radio. You guys just
did your thing for about ten minutes. Oh wow, Like
these sons of bitches didn't mention the Marine Corps birthday today.

Speaker 1 (01:06:29):
We don't doubt do they? Oh we've been talking morning.

Speaker 16 (01:06:33):
You're right?

Speaker 1 (01:06:34):
Do they even know? I mean November tenth, seventeen seventy five.
Ever heard of it? Two hundred and fifty years ago? Today?
Happy birthday, Happy birthday.

Speaker 8 (01:06:43):
Marines Houston's rocking alternatives The.

Speaker 9 (01:06:47):
Rock Last Morning Show from six to ten am ninety
four or five Buzz the Buzz.

Speaker 1 (01:06:53):
On the show, give up eight oh eight on this
milk Monday. Sorry, the milk pretty great today. The mill's
really good today.

Speaker 3 (01:07:03):
Why are you apologizing to me?

Speaker 1 (01:07:04):
Well, because it's keeping your beautiful three year old child's
pictures from the first spot like the top link.

Speaker 3 (01:07:12):
No shame. Oh she's very strong.

Speaker 1 (01:07:15):
Yeah he is. But your six picks are doing really
really well today, so a lot of people checking out
most six picks from the weekend. Thank you for checking
out the world famous rod Ryan Show blog page at
the Buzz dot com. I put a little sneak peek
of what the wheel looks like. We're going to be
spinning the guitarist wheel coming up in just a little bit.

(01:07:36):
Alex gets mad when I touch it.

Speaker 3 (01:07:38):
Somebody, How did that feel?

Speaker 1 (01:07:42):
I feel like Alex is looking at me. Now he's
somehow you should today? It feels what's the matter, buddy,
giant's got you down?

Speaker 3 (01:07:54):
Why did you even say that?

Speaker 1 (01:07:56):
They always have because I can relate. My Bills got killed.
Oh oh, they're so good by the Miami Dolphins. I'm
running around here saying, squish the fish, squish the fish,
and uh, they destroyed. I mean, the Bills just didn't
even show up for that game. Great news for Texans fans.
What an unbelievable game that was had. Okay, what an

(01:08:16):
unbelievable fourth quarter. The fourth quarter and you know what,
the Bills game got over early because they just got
shell ACKed. And then it switched over and I got
to see just about everything that was going on in
that fourth quarter. So it was definitely awesome, uh to see,
and you know, happy for Damiico and fun. I mean
that guy he's running down the sideline after that interception.

(01:08:37):
You would think that, like you, that guy wants you know,
he wants to pad up. Yeah, Dimago Dimgo wants to
pad up and be out there. And that's what's so
much fun about him. It's fun when you win. Yes, Okay,
I don't know what that feels like today, but uh,
great win for the Texans. Chili's in a pretty decent
mood today. Well about three weeks ago, four weeks ago,

(01:09:03):
I'm like, uh. At one of our little meetings on Thursday,
I'm like, we, uh, we got any of those autograph
guitars left playing around because we don't have a storage
there's nothing here. Somebody asked, can you put up some
pictures of the guitars? I said, I don't think they're here.

Speaker 3 (01:09:20):
Right, but there's not a closet. I can just go
take pictures of yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:09:23):
Right, in the old building we went in, there was
a whole room set aside for guitars. If you look
at there's old pictures of us milling about, just guitars everywhere.
We don't have that kind of space here anymore. We've
been downsized. So I don't even know if any of
these guitars I do. I know they exist. They exist
off campus, somewhere in some storage unit, or probably in

(01:09:44):
some employees' garage. That's kind of now. I bet your
other in Skinner's garage, no joke. So the wheel is
loaded with autographed guitars. Somehow, Manson did not sign this
year this. The Buzzfest guitar from this year is not

(01:10:05):
on the wheel yet. We don't know if it ever will,
but I but you have access to it. We have
access to it. But Manson did sign a guitar. We
have a Marilyn Manson signed guitar.

Speaker 3 (01:10:14):
And that's so low.

Speaker 1 (01:10:16):
That's just from this Buzzfest. Yeah, I think Wizard went
back there really, Yeah, I saw him sneaking back there.

Speaker 3 (01:10:23):
Well, he needed to get the guitar signed.

Speaker 1 (01:10:24):
Yeah, yeah, he was like a covert mission. He went
back there and got that guitar.

Speaker 3 (01:10:28):
So take one for the team.

Speaker 1 (01:10:29):
And no, remember walking around Buzzfest this past one, where
has any even some of the artists were saying, Hey,
has anybody seen Marilyn Manson? Yeah, everybody was wondering. He
didn't come out of the bus like he was just
he had himself locked away, so he was just getting
his mind right whatever he does. Before the show, there
was no sign of Marilyn Manson. I remember even asking

Speaker 1 (01:13:19):
Why hannay birthday of the marine? You damn well dogs,

Speaker 4 (01:13:35):
Lindsay Gomez was submitted to us by Angel from Cyprus
and people are checking her out the world famous ride
Rye and show page at the Buzz dot com.

Speaker 1 (01:13:41):
And then Japan's tsunami warning is trending.

Speaker 4 (01:13:44):
There was an earthquake that hit the northern coast of
Japan earlier and they are now currently under a tsunami watch.
Hopefully nothing comes of that, but because the people over there.

What uh ninety four or five the Buzz. Good morning,
rod Ryan Show. Thank you so much for having us on.
Hope you're off to a great start. It is milk
Monday and coming off of the weekend, always hoping that
you had a great weekend. Looks like Mo had a
lot of activity going on over the weekend. She's got
her six picks on the world famous rod Ryanshop blog

(01:15:20):
page at the Buzz dot com. We got sunny skies today.
A little windy this morning, but man, it's gonna be
a beautiful day. Hi today of sixty two and Travis said,
don't worry. He's letting everybody know. He's like, I'll tell
you right now. The first thing out of Rod's mouth
this morning was acknowledging our beloved birthday today. I'm just
I'm hearing from marines all day today. I guarantee you

(01:15:43):
find out where the marines are tonight and the drinks
are on them. Woke up extra early this morning three
am to start my workout for the first time, and
I don't know how many years I am making a
commitment to myself. Hold me to it, brother Rod. Now
I'm riding around Houston moving brick in driving truck styles.
Always onto the buzz. Love what y'all do, respectfully, sent

(01:16:04):
Travis Hudman, who is a Marine. He's using today's birthday
as a as a little motivation. I appreciate that he's
like man two hundred and fifty years he started working
out again today. It sounds like it's been a while
since he worked out. When we did the whole years ago,
we were holding ourselves to do one hundred push ups
a day. What Yeah, we did one hundred push up
to day.

Speaker 3 (01:16:24):
You'd have to do them all at once, just throughout
the day.

Speaker 1 (01:16:26):
I always did them all. He did not. Oh, we're
doing like four sets of twenty five.

Speaker 3 (01:16:32):
That's still really awesome.

Speaker 1 (01:16:33):
But it came from guys in the service. I remember
a guy in the military, and I don't remember what
branch it was. I apologize, but they were I think
it was like graduation and whoever like that. You know,
the dude in charge was sorry, I didn't serve, So
I don't know, like all the different terms. But the
guy in charge, he's like, all right, you pukes, you know,
and he's yelling at him still on their last day,
and he's like, I want you to make a commitment

(01:16:55):
to me right now. He goes, all you guys, I
don't want to see you guys getting all at and sloppy.
You've worked so hard, you know, because I mean, when
you're when you're in the military, name shape of your life,
you know what I mean. And you're young, and you're metabolism,
but you're you know, you're just you see, these guys
are in shape. And he called him Pukes, and he said,
I want you all to make the commitment to me

(01:17:17):
right now. I want you all doing one hundred push
ups a day. That's where we got the idea from
on this show. Because then I yelled at my pukes.
I'm like, all right, you pukes called everybody pukes on
the show, and I said, we're going to That's where
we got the idea. So hey, Travis, best of luck
to you. I don't know how I can hold you
accountable other than just mentioning it on the air. I said,
your first and last name, somebody knows you more than
I do. And they're gonna say, hey, did you work

(01:17:38):
I heard you on Rod's show? Did you work out
again today? Did you work out? So I will hold
you accountable. I I hope you stick with it, dude,
I really do. And it's a great day to start.
You're like, oh damn, I sir, all right, Happy birthday Marines.

Speaker 16 (01:17:56):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (01:17:58):
Nobody loves a wheel of stuff like Alex.

Speaker 3 (01:18:02):
I've noticed that.

Speaker 1 (01:18:03):
And then he tried to sneaking snacks. I'm like, no,
we're not doing the snacks. Say come on, can we
give away snacks with.

Speaker 3 (01:18:09):
The with the guitars?

Speaker 1 (01:18:10):
We don't need the snacks. I think it's not what Really,
I don't think I am in the headspace to positively listen.

Speaker 3 (01:18:21):
I had a great day yesterday.

Speaker 1 (01:18:22):
What week was this in the NFL? You've been moping
around for all of them? Ten? Oh wow, you've been
moping for ten weeks a year, seven eight weeks left
then playoffs.

Speaker 4 (01:18:32):
This guy's gonna be in a bad mood until Valentine's Day.
If I spent it, whoever they want to land on
will not happen. So I think MO is better luck.

Speaker 1 (01:18:42):
It's uh, it's guitarists. It's autographed guitars. There's fourteen of
them on a wheel right now. And again another great
shout out to everybody that's watching us online. You can
see the action of the wheel in real time. Good morning,
rod Ryan Show. Who's on the phone, Adrian. I'm gonna

(01:19:02):
ring the bell because your collar ted. You're winning a
guitar today, Adrian. Now, we just don't know what guitar
it's going to be. So we are going with this
option here because I did throw it out to you. Guys.
We're going to spend the wheel live. What comes up

(01:19:23):
comes up. There is your choice on there too. You
want most motion spin, Adrian, I wish.

Speaker 12 (01:19:31):
I think you should thank you.

Speaker 1 (01:19:33):
You think motion spin? All right? I do most.

Speaker 3 (01:19:36):
I've never spun before, never spun the wheel for me.

Speaker 11 (01:19:39):
I'm feeling no, it's not bolted to the counter here
all the top and then just rip it.

Speaker 1 (01:19:48):
Okay, we can't see it. Get down lower. There you are.
She's watching herself at the camera.

Speaker 3 (01:19:55):
All right, all right, Adrian, give it my fringe doesn't
get in the way.

Speaker 1 (01:20:00):
Ready, go go?

Speaker 3 (01:20:03):
How was that good?

Speaker 1 (01:20:04):
That's pretty good? That's wheel girl.

Speaker 3 (01:20:07):
What does she get? What does she get what'd she get?

Speaker 1 (01:20:09):
Filter? I believe that's from a couple of years ago
when they played on a buzz Fest. You just scored
a filter, grabbed guitar from the guitar rist wheel. Way
to go.

Speaker 3 (01:20:26):
We're thankful for you, Adrian, Thanks for listening.

Speaker 1 (01:20:29):
All right, good spin mo. Okay, filter comes off. Another
great guitar will go on. I should probably know that now.

Speaker 4 (01:20:38):
Huh pick one, yeah right, just just pick one.

Speaker 1 (01:20:41):
I will anyone you want. Silly like that, Let's do
this filter take filter off? And why don't you put
why don't you put volt beat in there? Okay, bo
l beat eight volbeat added to the wheel, filter off
volbeat in Oh yeah, that looks good on the wheel. Adrian,

(01:21:06):
hang on for me. Congratulations, show.

Speaker 16 (01:21:12):
The buzz.

Speaker 1 (01:21:15):
Here we go Juice ninety four or five the buzz.
Good morning Rod Ryan's show. Guitarrists. Before that, it's just
day one, kids. We've got ten days of guitar vest.
We're gonna do it at eight twenty every morning, Monday
through Friday. Two great weeks of it. Will blow out

(01:21:38):
ten guitars. There's fourteen of them on the wheel at
all times, just like Moe replaced filter with bold beat.
Everything else is still up for grabs on that wheel.
So that's awesome. So congratulations. I just got a great
picture too, Todd. Todd Lester sent me a picture. He's like,
here's my favorite buzz best picture from the pit and

(01:21:59):
what is it? It's filter no way, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
it's a great picture. That's awesome. Thank you for sharing that.
I'll send that to the listener. Whoever just won that guitar.

Speaker 3 (01:22:10):
What was her name, Adrian?

Speaker 1 (01:22:12):
Adrian? Adrian email me, I'll send you this picture from
the It goes along with your guitar. Is it all well?

Speaker 12 (01:22:18):
Todd?

Speaker 1 (01:22:18):
Can I send you that picture? You send it to me?
Can I send that along to her? That would be
a great thing to go with her guitar, for sure.
Every Day Guitarist eight twenty Now we talked about most
six picks on Links and guests. There's the looking at
Girls blog page. Oh good news, Britney spears back on Instagram.

Speaker 3 (01:22:37):
Why don't you lead with that ron?

Speaker 16 (01:22:38):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:22:38):
Back running? Well, I thought the Marine Corps birthday was
the story. And then number two Brittany Brittany back on
Instagram running around in her ponies nicely pennies, pennies, pennies.
So yeah, she's running around in her panties.

Speaker 3 (01:22:54):
So what did she just like explain what was going on?
Why don't you left?

Speaker 21 (01:22:59):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (01:22:59):
Yeah, I mean I I was more confused afore I
read what she wrote.

Speaker 3 (01:23:02):
Sohow okay, I'll try and look at it, right about it?

Speaker 1 (01:23:05):
So that's going on there? Looking at girls blog page again,
a link that nobody ever looks at. Three things you
must see? How cool is this? Now? A friend of
mine had a house and I think he was like
building it and in Louisiana, and he allowed there was
like some group that would kind of come in. They'd
pay for everything, and they would give you a cut.

(01:23:26):
They would just dig down a couple of levels into
the area where you were building a house, like a
preservation society, to see if they could find anything. A
lot of rich history around where he was building. And
I think they found a couple of plates or something,
and they give you a cut if they find anything.
But all they do all this free work on the
land that you're about to build your home on, just
in case if there's any you know, civil war stuff
or War of eighteen twelve, you know whatever. Okay, they

(01:23:50):
didn't find much, so he didn't really get anything out
of it. But this guy putting in a swimming pool
in his backyard in France, this guy's headlining through things.
You must see five gold bars somebody buried what Yeah,
five gold bars and a bunch of coins in plastic bags.

(01:24:12):
And it's on his property. It's his his, it's his.

Speaker 3 (01:24:15):
Wait, do the people digging for the pool find it
and you give.

Speaker 16 (01:24:18):
It to him?

Speaker 3 (01:24:19):
Yeah, that's rare.

Speaker 1 (01:24:21):
Somehow the cops were able to determine that it wasn't stolen,
so he keeps it. Does it pay for the Does
it pay for the price of the pool?

Speaker 9 (01:24:29):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (01:24:30):
Yeah, and then some eight hundred thousand dollars. Is that
the dream or what? That's a pretty good We all
have buried treasure in our backyard someday, So I don't advise.
Don't you got to call some number before you dig? Yeah,
it only started digging. It makes sure you call somebody.
You don't know what you're gonna hit The Buzz.

Speaker 16 (01:24:50):
Rock and.

Speaker 1 (01:24:52):
Ryan Morning Show.

Speaker 9 (01:24:53):
I'm six to ten am.

Speaker 1 (01:24:55):
Ninety four or five The Buzz Good Morning, Rod Ryan's
show lead singer Richard Croff still at it. The verb
not together, but Richard opened up nineteen Oasis shows that
includes the seven sold out Wimbley Arena shows. He was
asked by Oasis to open and I did see a

(01:25:16):
podcast with him talking about it. It's like what a
phone call to get you know. You know, this Oasis
thing is going to be huge. It's worldwide, it's biblical,
all the things that they said, and getting to open
I can only man, I can't wait till the next
time we see Cage the Elephant, because they got to
do the show that I saw, and they did the
North American shows, but they got to open up for Oasis,
and just to get that phone call to open up

(01:25:38):
on what's going to go down as one of the
biggest tours of the year for sure. That was the
verb bittersweet Symphony. We have a big concert announcement coming up.
It's a show that's happening here.

Speaker 3 (01:25:51):
You have to say that.

Speaker 1 (01:25:53):
We never used to have to say that. If there
was a concert announcement, it was just gonna be something
that was here. It's not the thick case anymore. But
this is given me a big deal. So we're going
to give you this right after you guys are done
with your thing, and I'll give away the very first
pair of tickets for it. Sunny's guys today no rain,
highs of around sixty two. Take it moll with Houston's headlines.

Speaker 2 (01:26:10):
Thank you, Good morning, Good morning, day forty one of
the government shut down and the Senate voted to move
forward on a bill with a bill to fund the
government last night. Yes, it marks a major step towards
ending the shutdown, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.
The vote with sixty to forty eight. Democrats joined Republicans
to advance the measure. That measure had already failed fourteen

(01:26:30):
times before, so it feels like a little bit of progress.
But now the House will need to approve the bill
before it can go to the President to be signed.
So still no forecasting when the shutdown will end, but
we do know the Senate will reconvene at ten am
this morning. I mentioned earlier that a few of our
counties have a frost warning. It expires you know here soon.
But also the fire warnings. Okay, we've seen a couple

(01:26:51):
of house fires and a business fire and clear Lake
this morning. The Houston Fire Department is just reminding everyone
to be cautious when heating their homes.

Speaker 1 (01:26:59):
I did even think about it. People turning on their
heaters for the first time today first time. I still
live the fireplaces.

Speaker 3 (01:27:04):
Yes, just to be smart.

Speaker 2 (01:27:06):
If you're using space heaters, know where they are and
when they're on, and don't use your stove to heat
your home. Check your co two monitors also a major
trifecta for fire risk. We have strong winds, we have
low humidity, and we have dry vegetation, so one spark
outside can spread flames so quickly. So just put extra

(01:27:28):
love towards taking care of your family and thinking about
our firefighters that are out there working their tissues off.
If you're planning on traveling to visit friends and family
this holiday season, chances are you'll be going into someone's.

Speaker 3 (01:27:42):
Home and they'll say, stay as long as you'd like.
We'd love to have you. We're so happy. That's what you.

Speaker 1 (01:27:46):
Don't make it comfortable for them. You have like an
air mattress. You can see you're welcome as long as
you want on that air mattress.

Speaker 3 (01:27:52):
The question rod, how long is too long?

Speaker 1 (01:27:56):
A couple days, three days?

Speaker 3 (01:27:59):
This whole says six is the magic spot.

Speaker 1 (01:28:02):
Oh I told you the fish.

Speaker 3 (01:28:03):
What's the fish again?

Speaker 1 (01:28:05):
House guests are like fish. They start to stink after
three days.

Speaker 16 (01:28:07):
Oh wow.

Speaker 2 (01:28:10):
Thirty three percent of people admit they'll begin dropping hints
when it's time for their guests to go. But not
all guests get the timetable, because we do have moms
on this list that say kids can stay as long
as they want.

Speaker 1 (01:28:21):
When you guys, when you guys getting out of here.

Speaker 3 (01:28:24):
Especially when you bring grandkids, and moms are like, sure,
stay forever.

Speaker 1 (01:28:28):
Day five, it's like, hey, you guys, any plans, leave them.

Speaker 3 (01:28:32):
If you want your house back, right, you need to
get back in your routine. That's why I want guests
to leave.

Speaker 1 (01:28:36):
You gotta get back. Plants are going to die at
your house.

Speaker 3 (01:28:39):
I love it.

Speaker 2 (01:28:40):
I love those sing We have mentioned a couple times
today that it's the Marine Corps birthday.

Speaker 3 (01:28:46):
Yep, it's also Sesame Street's birthday.

Speaker 1 (01:28:48):
Oh they're not going to like sharing that.

Speaker 3 (01:28:50):
I'm sorry.

Speaker 2 (01:28:51):
Sesame Street Durings fifty six today. Yes, it premiered fifty
six years ago on November tenth, nineteen sixty nine.

Speaker 3 (01:28:59):
You learned a lot from that show, didn't you, Rod.

Speaker 1 (01:29:01):
Yeah, Big Bird was a sharpshooter. He was in the Marines. Yeah,
so is Elma.

Speaker 2 (01:29:08):
Cheers your friendship, celebrate yourself for wherever I remember, let
things go.

Speaker 3 (01:29:14):
That's what we learned from Sesame Street. And last but
not least, Hayley Williams is calling this a leak. She
leaked her tour dates for her twenty twenty six tour and.

Speaker 2 (01:29:24):
Support of her latest solo album, Ego Death, at a
bachelorette party. The announcement came the same day she received
four Grammy nominations. Congrats to her twenty days in her
North American leg of the tour, one.

Speaker 3 (01:29:37):
Texas stop in May in Austin. Those are Houston's headlines.

Speaker 4 (01:29:43):
Come on, Yeah, Texans got to win yesterday and they
came back to beat Jaguars thirty six to twenty nine.
They twilled twenty nine to ten heading into the fourth
quarter before scoring twenty six straight points.

Speaker 1 (01:29:54):
There is the second largest comeback in franchise history.

Speaker 4 (01:29:57):
Davis Mills and the Mills Mafia through the third ninety
two yards and two touchdowns in the game, and the
defense made plays when they had to in the fourth
quarter to get the job done.

Speaker 1 (01:30:05):
That Texans are now four and five on the year.

Speaker 4 (01:30:08):
They're gonna play the Titans on Sunday on Monday Night Football,
Jordan Love and the Packers host Jalen Hurts and the Eagles.
Packers are one and a half point favorites coming into
this game. Kickoff is gonna be at seven to fifteen.
You can watch it in ABC and ESPN. In basketball,
Detexans weren't the only team with a comeback win yesterday.
The Rockets also came back to beat the Bucks one
two to one fifteen. They trailed for most of the game.

(01:30:29):
If we're outscoring Milwaukee twenty two to seven over the
last four and a half minutes. Kevin Durant had thirty
one points on the day to leave the team in scoring.
Rockets are now six and three to start the season.
That is what's going on in sports.

Speaker 1 (01:30:41):

Speaker 16 (01:34:51):
Some they get it's nigs. I can't cut my sense.

Speaker 17 (01:35:00):
And you saw the first night stand a great coaling.

Speaker 24 (01:35:12):
Sad I have to make cow.

Speaker 16 (01:35:20):
Maybe I stack some thing.

Speaker 1 (01:35:29):
I said, stop at.

Speaker 17 (01:35:37):
I can't stack it said, so you can say that

(01:36:02):
dog silent now says this Sadam's.

Speaker 16 (01:36:13):
Head. I have a way.

Speaker 1 (01:36:20):
Hell ninety four or five the buzz Good morning, Rob

(01:36:47):
Ryan's show. That's Adam Gontier when he was in Three
Days Grace animal. I have become they're coming to town
and they're gonna have to Matt's gonna be singing as well,
so I still let moo. Adam leaves the band. A
ton of hits with Adam. Okay, Matt comes in at

(01:37:07):
the band. Not only is Matt holding down and playing
all the old stuff, but then they came out with
new bangers and now those songs are great. They're bringing
Adam back, not getting rid of Matt. And they got
two lead singers and they're up there, yes, and somehow
they're coexisting. This is their latest wells the old can

(01:37:30):
read your mind. This is Three Days Grace. It's called
kill Me Fast. I believe this is like the newest
thing that they're out promoting. But when we made the announcement,
I was losing my mind, saying, oh my god, I've
never before seen a band. We've just seen bands replaced
lead singers, and that's exactly what they did in Three
Days Grace, and they successfully replaced it. Matt was doing
a great job and they had their own new catalog

(01:37:52):
with Matt, but with Adam back in the band and
carrying two lead singers. It's unheard of. It's unheard of.
But they haven't had a Houston date. They've been dancing
around us and they're finally coming and we're gonna bring
them as part of something we're calling buzz Oween October
twenty fifth, I Prevail and The Funeral Portrait October twenty fifth,

(01:38:13):
Woodlands Pavilion. Tickets will go on sale this Friday at
ten am at ticketmaster dot com. I said I'd give
away the very first pair of tickets to that show,
Good Morning, Rod Ryan Show. Who's on the phone, Corey Williams.
Corey Williams, you're call her number ten?

Speaker 10 (01:38:28):

Speaker 4 (01:38:35):
Oh that's Rad.

Speaker 13 (01:38:36):
I can't wait.

Speaker 1 (01:38:37):
It is Rad.

Speaker 3 (01:38:38):
Yeah. If we went right now, you'd be the only
one there, Rad besides the bands.

Speaker 1 (01:38:42):
And I'm bringing Rad back into myself Rad Rad Okay,
I love it. Yeah, dude, you're in. Congratulations Corey, have
a great day. Thank you for listening. Thank you, Thank
you so much. Alex, You're closer than me. There's a
three days Grace guitar on there. Isn't there?

Speaker 3 (01:39:01):
I see it on the wheel.

Speaker 1 (01:39:03):
Yeah, So back to guitarists. All this new three days
great stuff is great too, man, all of it's great.
There's like three eras now Adam Matt and then now
the stuff that they're doing together and you can be

(01:39:23):
a part of it. What do we look like here, Chili?
Are we giving away tickets for Is this just a
one off thing? Or do we have tickets all week
now before they go on sale? He's scrambling.

Speaker 3 (01:39:39):
Buzz a week.

Speaker 1 (01:39:40):
I believe we have tickets all week loan, that would
make sense because we're going on sale Friday. Yeah cool,
All right, guys, I mean, do you have any money
left after this last Friday? Wasn't here ten shows that
went on sale through Ticketmaster. Yeah, they're trying to get
everything on sale before the end of the year. There's

Welcome back everybody, Rod Ryan Show on this Monday.

Speaker 16 (01:40:56):
Oohee, it's the.

Speaker 1 (01:40:57):
Busiest Monday I'm in a long time. I mean, the
fireworks were already happening in homeroom this morning with the
fresh out of bed head to head. That's no lie.
I thought about it more than once up of the weekend.
What other John was going to do. He was going
for the Hall of fame, he was going for win
number five. Made it sound like he was going to
throw it for Alex and Alex is honor for the brackets.

(01:41:19):
But boy, fireworks this morning and then every single hour.
It's been busy. A guitarist is back eight twenty every day,
huge concert announcement. And now I got Alex online. It's
Alex online the muzz. I'd just like to say, I
am joining you in. Your football is dumb, u the

(01:41:43):
little like a club you have going on this year
is dumb. If I can come in and hang out
with you guys for a while. Football is dumb. And
your team's good?

Speaker 6 (01:41:52):
Are they?

Speaker 1 (01:41:53):
They have a winning record? How what are we doing
for AOL today?

Speaker 5 (01:41:57):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (01:41:57):
It's this fine, A good time to bring this one back.
We're just gonna run back. Slapped in Kirk. Oh yeah,
sometimes you just want to slap Monday in the face.
This is those Mondays really good enough? And ready I
got four slaps per second earlier.

Speaker 1 (01:42:12):
You check it out.

Speaker 4 (01:42:12):
You can track your slap count. You can see how
many slaps per second you're averaging. You can see what
the most you got to was. And yeah, pretty much
that's all you do is slap Captain Kirk at the
world famous rod Ryan showpage at the bus dot com
and joy it's one.

Speaker 1 (01:42:25):
Of the all time greats.

Speaker 3 (01:42:26):
Yeah a rod Ryan Show.

Speaker 12 (01:42:29):
The Bush.

Speaker 1 (01:42:34):
Ninety four five, The Bus the Morning, Rob Ryan Show,
Lovely the band broke In. I'm always thinking to gen
Z when I hear that song. I don't know, it
just seems like that's at the anthem, you know. Come on,
come on over here and just be mopey with me.
Let's mope around.

Speaker 16 (01:42:53):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:42:55):
The latest trend showering in the dark. I'm not even
I'm spending my time on this. I'm not even spending
time on this. Somebody's gonna step on something, somebody's gonna
wipe out, break their neck. Don't you showering in the dark?
You break your neck and really do it in the dark. Yeah,
I guess seeing I guess you don't see it coming.
Dark showering just trending on TikTok right now.

Speaker 3 (01:43:16):
Is there like a health reason behind it?

Speaker 1 (01:43:18):
I think it's as simple as number one, A nice
warm shower before you go to bed. That's where I
prefer to shower before I go to bed, and then
I can see dimming the lights.

Speaker 3 (01:43:29):
I have a dim option.

Speaker 1 (01:43:30):
That's all it is. It is just dimming the lights
a little bit. But now they're telling you just take
a dark shower so that there's no lights, and then
you're supposed to go right to bed. You know how
they say don't use the phones before you go to bed. Yeah,
so I just having no light in the shower seems
dangerous to me.

Speaker 3 (01:43:48):
So that's what you're doing in there.

Speaker 1 (01:43:50):
I like that you're lonely, lonely like me taking showers
in the dark. I'm gonna try stepping on soap, breaking
your neck. You deserve it. Moving on number one song
on Billboard's Country Digital Song Sales chart right now, this
is the number one country song.

Speaker 3 (01:44:12):
Okay, like the song of the week or like all time.

Speaker 1 (01:44:16):
Billboard number one, currently number one, Okay, currently number one
on the Country Digital Song Sales It's got the most
activity downloading, It's got the most activity going on right now.
Let's take a listen to this song.

Speaker 16 (01:44:30):
Rocks.

Speaker 6 (01:44:31):
If you don't like I talk, I'm on Keye Bone
talking and walk my Walk. Ain't changing my tone, ain't
changing my song. I was born this way. Being a
loud too long, you gave my style.

Speaker 1 (01:44:45):
It's called Walk the Walk by a mysterious artist named
Breaking Rust. The number one song is a fake artist.
Stop this is a I friend. Alex breaking Rust put

(01:45:08):
out a song called Walk the Walk. You just heard
it I mean, did they type in like give me
something like along the lines of a Chris Stapleton or
is that just me?

Speaker 3 (01:45:18):
It sounded like a little bit of Chris Stapleton.

Speaker 2 (01:45:20):
It sounded like it came like off the Yellowstone soundtrack,
a little bit like with a little bit of that
what was the O Brother Where art thou?

Speaker 3 (01:45:26):
Soundtrack?

Speaker 1 (01:45:27):
So that sounded like okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, I hear
that too. The number one song is from a non
existent band, so he can't say country music.

Speaker 4 (01:45:36):
Seriously, guys, the number one thing end, it's not happening
just in country music right nowadays.

Speaker 1 (01:45:42):
It's credited to someone named Aubreervol Rovoldo Taylor. So this
guy barely seems to exist outside of a few sketchy
corners of the internet. If he's real. He's linked to
another AI music project, and it's known for like explicit
parody songs. So Breaking Rust is the name of the

(01:46:09):
band that I just played you nearly two million monthly
Spotify listeners. So there's somebody by the name of Ella Langley.
She has a song called Choos in Texas. Yes, she's
number two on that same chart. She's being kept out
of the number one slots out of an Ai created song.

(01:46:31):
This is the world we are living in. What are
we even doing here that there's not something Milli Vanilly,
the guy that the one that's alive, he's up for
a Grammy, doesn't have new music out, but he he
read his book. He has a book like all about

(01:46:53):
Millie Vanilly.

Speaker 3 (01:46:53):
He did the audio.

Speaker 1 (01:46:54):
He did the audio, and he's up for a Grammy
for it. That's how like some of these people get
Grammys for their books when they narrate it. I think
Obama may have a Grammy, and I think maybe Hillary
Clinton may have a Grammy. Yeah, I'm reading there are bodies,
but I'm just the only reason I'm bringing up Milli Vanilli.
Those were real artists that sang those songs. They just
put those two good looking guys out there to lip

(01:47:16):
sync it, and they had the Grammy taken away from them. Okay,
oh yeah, they had their Grammy taking taken away Best
New Artist really because they Rob and Fabreez whatever their
names were. They they didn't do the singing. You don't
know that Millie Vanilla now, oh yeah, yeah, yeah. They
were on an MTV show with blah blah blah blah
blah bah Downtown Julie Brown, and they were singing it

(01:47:39):
like maybe a spring break and they were using it
what was back then, It was called a DAT, a
digital audio tape. I think that's what they were using.
And it got stuck. Girl, you know it, it's true.
Ooh ooh ooh, I love you. They're on there dancing girl.
You know it, girl, you know it. It's stuck.

Speaker 3 (01:47:58):
It's and that's how they were found out.

Speaker 1 (01:48:00):
That's how they were found out that hey, we were
just lip syncing at the thing. But then it came
out that that wasn't them on the album. And they
even said, they're like, damn it, just don't win the
Grammy for Best New Artists and maybe we can get
away with this. And they won the Grammy and that's
when people started digging into this. But that but we
they recognize, you can't do that. This is not even

(01:48:24):
a human being at all. And I'm just saying, I
don't know anything about Ella Langley. She's that song is fire,
but she is being kept out of the number one
slot on this Billboard chart because because she's so pretty reals,
So what is real anymore? I don't know, all Right, guys.

(01:48:48):
That being said, now, it's gonna be hard to ask you.
Do you like it?

Speaker 6 (01:48:55):
If you don't like, ain't changing my tone, Ain't changing
my song. I was born this way, being allowed too long.

Speaker 1 (01:49:07):
You gave me my statuo million.

Speaker 3 (01:49:10):
It feels good alowing down.

Speaker 1 (01:49:12):
Are you mad at it?

Speaker 3 (01:49:14):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (01:49:14):
Yeah, Rock.

Speaker 6 (01:49:16):
If you don't like our talk, I'm on keep bone
talk welcome.

Speaker 1 (01:49:21):
Not even a human being on that. It's insane crazy.

Speaker 9 (01:49:25):
You're listening to The rod Ryan Show on ninety four five, the.

Speaker 1 (01:49:28):
Bus, ninety four five, the Buzz that's three eleven and
beautiful Disaster, Good morning, rod Ryan's show boy. I just
didn't look at my emails for a little bit and
seeing the reaction to Three Days Grace being announced buzz oween,
it's we're doing a Halloween show. I don't know that

(01:49:48):
we've ever done. Not in my time. We haven't done
buzz oween. Three Days Grace, I Prevail and the Funeral
Portrait October twenty fifth, Woodland's Pavilion next year. We have
not seen this version of Three Days Grace. Here is
why I'm so excited, Michelle, Michelle Myers. I just saw

(01:50:09):
them in Fort Worth in September Rod. They are amazing,
both lead singers together, each compliment one another. I can't
call until the fourteenth. I won to see their tickets
on October fourteenth, and I think that's what I can call. Anyways,
she said that they're great, she said three days Grace
with two lead singers. She says it's so powerful. She says,

(01:50:32):
it's amazing. So like I needed to be any more
excited about that, now I'm super excited.

Speaker 14 (01:50:39):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:50:40):
Chile confirmed we're giving away tickets all week when them
before they go on sale. Buzz Aween tickets go on
sale this Friday at ten am through ticket Master locations.
Do you have any money left from last Friday? Jim
Gaffigan ac DC, which I was thirty two thousand people
in the queue, and I was like, like my number

(01:51:03):
I had thirty. I had over thirty two thousand people
in front of me. What you were doing it too?
Just just for the exercise of going through it. I
did end up buying some ac DC tshes. Yeah, I
want to tell you what I spent.

Speaker 3 (01:51:15):
Yes, I mean tell me like where they are?

Speaker 1 (01:51:18):
Are they good on the floor?

Speaker 3 (01:51:19):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (01:51:20):
I am aware behind the pit dang seats, the pit
ones were sold out when I got in.

Speaker 1 (01:51:25):
Yeah, I couldn't get any pit tickets.

Speaker 12 (01:51:27):
It was a lot.

Speaker 1 (01:51:28):
It was a ridiculous amount of money. Jim Gaffigan.

Speaker 3 (01:51:32):
That and the what else went on sale?

Speaker 1 (01:51:34):
Wolf Mother? Oh yeah, they were all doing that was
just the time. There's like ten classic rock shows that
have announced everything's going on sale right now. They're trying
to get your money before Christmas. These are all shows
next year. I mean, for crying out loud, buzzween, it's
a year from now. That's you know, that's the band's
wanting this stuff on sale before Christmas time. So I
don't have a ticket price. Somebody was asking me. He's like, Rod,

(01:51:56):
Christmas is just around the corner. You're killing me here.
Three days Grace oh, Casey's like just my favorite band.
I said, yeah, I don't know. I don't know what
the ticket prices are going to be for that, but
we'll let you know since we find out. We'll probably
find out Friday at ten.

Speaker 3 (01:52:08):
Seriously, we'll be right there with you, all right, what
are you giving away?

Speaker 1 (01:52:11):
I know the show, I can't tell.

Speaker 2 (01:52:12):
You yet, says The show announces at ten am on Monday,
November ten.

Speaker 3 (01:52:16):
Oh geez, you tried to trick me. It worked one time,
but this time no, I know, I know, I'm just kidding.

Speaker 1 (01:52:22):
She'll we try to get me in trouble. I didn't
know that we were doing this.

Speaker 3 (01:52:25):
Yes, he now highlights them on my papers because he
knows that I'm messed up. One bye, okay, okay, deal,
we're going to give the secret.

Speaker 1 (01:52:32):
We're going to give away a pair of tickets to
a show that doesn't announce until ten okay, fair, yeah, okay,
all right, mo the show for.

Speaker 3 (01:52:41):
A show, other show that's coming to Houston.

Speaker 1 (01:52:44):
We'll tell you right before ten o'clock.

Speaker 13 (01:52:46):
Houston's Rock, Houston's Alternative All Day and The Rod Ryan
Morning Show ninety five.

Speaker 1 (01:52:52):
Because La La La La La La la la la
la la la la la la la la La. Okay,
welcome back, everybody, four or five The Buzz Rod Ryan Show. Yeah,
we're we're in another one of those weird situations where
the tickets that we're giving away right now, the show

(01:53:12):
doesn't officially announce until ten am. Is that right? Just today? Monday,
November tenth? Is that today? Yeah? Yes, ten o'clock. I
can't tell you what you're calling for, but you're gonna
like it. You're gonna like it. And it's not ten
months from now. I don't think it is. No, it's
actually not that long, not that far off. So we're

(01:53:34):
gonna do the whole thing. Let's give away the tickets,
just can't say what they are until the last minute
before we leave. What's your question?

Speaker 2 (01:53:40):
We talked a lot about the rock and Roll Hall
of Fame that happened over the weekend and an iconic
picture that surfaced after the Hall of Fame. It was
of a Jim Carrey and someone else. Who is this
person in the picture with Jim Carrey?

Speaker 1 (01:53:54):
Okay, seven one to three two on two five nine
four five. If you know the show, tickets to a
show that I can't tell you about, we are easy
to find any place you.

Speaker 5 (01:54:04):
Off tell your smart bus on Iron Radio.

Speaker 1 (01:54:11):
Two ninety four, Fun the Bus, Good morning, Rod Ryan's show,
Buddle of Mud, blurry guys, thank you so much for
hanging out with us today. Really fun Monday morning. Wow.
There's a lot of stuff going on, that's for sure.

(01:54:31):
And the weather's gonna got everybody in a pretty decent
mood here. The high today is sixty two, sunny, sixty two,
get me out there, all right. We have some work
we got to do after the show, but then we
want to get outside, all right. So we're in a
weird position here. We still are sitting on a pair
of tickets contractually, I cannot say anything for early too.

(01:54:55):
Why we early? Same early? Because we're gonna wizard.

Speaker 4 (01:54:59):
What do you think that we're never this early, just
sitting there watching us like November ten.

Speaker 1 (01:55:07):
I love you guys being early. I mean, this is great,
you guys watching the clock. It's so good. I want
to talk about six A but I won't bring it
up now. But anyway, go ahead. You know what you're
doing a little behind in the six o'clock hours, Yeah
for it. Yes, now let's go now.

Speaker 21 (01:55:20):
Time for know this show on ninety four to five
The but La la la la la la La la
la la la la la la la la.

Speaker 1 (01:55:29):
La la la la la la la. All right, here
we go. Good morning, rod Ryan Show. Who's on the phone.

Speaker 3 (01:55:36):
Oh this is David.

Speaker 1 (01:55:37):
Hi, David, how are you today? I'm doing very well,
are you rod? Great? Great? That all my Halloween stuff
put away last weekend, over the weekend, it's good news.
When can I start putting up my Christmas stuff, David,
after Thanksgiving? After Thanksgiving. Geez, yeah, that's what we did

(01:55:59):
when we were here.

Speaker 3 (01:56:00):
I know, I agree with you.

Speaker 1 (01:56:01):
Not like that anymore, I don't know. All right, Well, David,
let's get your pair of tickets to something. I'll go
a little early. What's your qu see if he wins first?

Speaker 3 (01:56:09):
Okay? Fair David.

Speaker 2 (01:56:10):
We talked a lot about the weekend's Rock and Roll
Hall of Fame ceremony and how incredible it was. Tons
of awesome details. You should check out Rod's post about
it online.

Speaker 3 (01:56:19):
But Jim Carrey was.

Speaker 2 (01:56:20):
There presenting, and this iconic picture surfaced after the ceremony.

Speaker 3 (01:56:25):
It was Jim Carrey and who, David Chris Cornell?

Speaker 1 (01:56:30):
Well, Chris Cornell's dead. No, Chris Cornell is no, there's
no I felt weird.

Speaker 3 (01:56:41):
I'm sweating.

Speaker 1 (01:56:42):
Maybe Jessica knows, Jessica.

Speaker 3 (01:56:43):
Good morning, Hi Jessica, Paul, I love you.

Speaker 1 (01:56:49):
Twenty five years after twenty five years, they got back together,
starring in a movie together. Who was Jim Carrey in
a picture with at the Rock and Roll Hall of
Fame induction ceremony? Sorry, gosh, I'm under the water, Cindy
Lou or do you need the mean actressy, I'll take
taylu who I will take that. Yeah, Taylor's Taylor momson.

(01:57:12):
Yeah yeah yeah. Twenty five years she.

Speaker 2 (01:57:16):
Was in the movie as a child. Yeah yeah yeah,
and reunited backstage at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Speaker 3 (01:57:21):
Well, yeah, she's so cute. She's so cute, cute.

Speaker 1 (01:57:25):

you got them all right? Thank you so much, Gay,
oh many, thank you. Hang on the phone for me.
Well there you go. Two concert announcements. One we were
supposed to do and one we got a little early on. Boy,

(01:58:12):
what a game this morning, fresh out of bed, head
to head challenge other John was really trying to win
this morning. I the integrity of the game was intact.
He was playing for a spot in the Hall of Fame,
but four time Hall of Fame or Sexy James kept
him out of it. Rolando won those zo Lights Zoo Lights,
No kids, most said, she said, leave your sparkle snot

(01:58:34):
knows kids at home, go to sip and smart Sip
and sparkle at the Zoo Lights. We'll have tickets all week.
Adrian won the Filter guitar and I don't know, man,
we just replaced it with a Vulebeat guitar. Every day
this week and next week at eight twenty, we're spinning
the guitar wheel. Guitarvist is back and I'm super happy

(01:58:56):
about it. Buzz Oween our Halloween show with three days

Woodlands Pavilion. Chilli says, we're giving away tickets all week

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
