(00:00):
Him, Laura, Hi, howare you. I'm so excited to shot
with you. A huge fan ofyours, by the way, so thank
you for talking to me. Absolutely, thank you for having me absolutely.
Now, you've been in like twoiconic shows, right from Monk to of
course obviously The Office and also justyour sense of humor and all the other

(00:23):
work that you have done. Obviouslybeing recognized in the industry for it,
is comedy your heart or would didyou even know that? I? You
know, look, I started actingprofessionally when I was six years old,
so I have done so much drama, so much comedy. I've done just
lots and lots of different things, and you know, you get known for

(00:46):
something and then people say, oh, that's it, you know, that's
what you do. But I doeverything. I mean, I've been on
Broadway. I'm a singer, I'ma songwriter, I'm a dancer. You
know, I've done a lot ofthings. But yeah, I think it's
great. It's great that I'm knownfor, um, whatever you get known
for, that's you know, that'spart of the that's part of the deal.
Well after you want that, absolutely, But I would dare say comedy

(01:07):
is really really hard because either itworks or it doesn't, you know,
And I feel like you have sucha talent of crossing all boundaries. And
of course what am I hearing?I know we're gonna talk about clock,
I promise you, because that's horror. That's a whole other genre. So
we're gonna get into that. Butbut what are you have like a side
hustle with wallpaper? Am I hearingthis right? I have started a line

(01:33):
of wallpaper. It's called Storyboards byMelaura Harden. And yeah, people can
check it out on my website, which is Melaura dot com. Okay,
so I love this. I lovethis about you, and I love that,
you know, I get to youknow when you see somebody. I
mean, I don't know if youknow this, but you're at my house
a lot. You're in my livingroom and sometimes you're at the kitchen table

(01:53):
because we can sent the island andwatch you. So you're you're at our
house a lot and we just renovated. I didn't know about your wallpaper.
I would have supported you. Sonow I'm going to find a row.
I'm going to find a project becauseof you. Yes, you should,
you know, it's it would beamazing. It's amazing in bathrooms. It's

(02:14):
like, it's really fun if youwant to just turn something into kind of
a little world. It's like awhole different a whole different world, a
whole different vibe. It's definitely boldand joyful and uh, it's like having
art on your wall. So actress, singer, writer, Triple Threat,
quadruple what is it? What doyou? How do you add D I
Y? Like? What is that? Quinn tuple track? I don't even

(02:35):
know what that's like? How didyou even get into like d I Y?
Or interior? Was that also anotherlove? Well? I mean I've
always been making art. I've alwaysbeen making collage art, and I and
I think that it sort of wasjust a natural thing that kind of came
from from this documentary actually that I'vebeen working on for six years, which
I will bring to you when whenI get that into the world. Um,

(02:59):
and my my subject has started usingmy collage art for kind of as
like a resting place, a kindof place to go into kind of a
world to kind of meditate on orfeel like she had transported herself kind of
somewhere else that felt good and feltbetter than where she wasn't in that time
emotionally, So it was just sortof a thing that everybody kept saying,

(03:22):
I want these bigger, I wantthese bigger, I want these bigger,
and that I started collaborating with awallpaper company and now they're bigger. All
right, I'm gonna go. I'mgonna put the link up with this blog
two on our iHeart radio site, and I'm telling you I will be getting
some wallpaper. But now more importantlyit's common Yes, And coming up this
Friday, You've got a horror featurefilm coming out called Clock and it is

(03:45):
a horror movie on several layers.May I just say, like, first
of all, we're talking about ourbiological clock TikTok. That's a horror for
some people. Then it's a clinicaltrial which could bring up all kinds of
feelings. Then it's like it's it'scrazy, what is happening here with Clark?
What's going on? Yeah. Soit's a Hulu original movie that'll be

(04:09):
out this Friday, the twenty eighth, and it's a story about a young
woman played by Diana Agron that is, you know, have his great life.
She has a great career, shehas a great friends, family,
you know, and she's sort ofdoesn't really know she wants to change that
up. She has a really greathusband and they have a great sex life,
and she's worried that if she haschildren that might change, and she's

(04:31):
getting a lot of pressure from allof those different factors, and so it
is suggests to her that she needsto go to this clinical trial that sort
of genius doctor is running, whichis me, and that I am claiming
to be able to fix her biologicalclock, which in itself is a really
warped ideas. It's scary, andit's such a touch point. My goodness,

(04:55):
Like, was there like therapy onset, like when you guys need
to go for it? Well, you know, I mean, I've this
is sort of my first horror movie. Horror, you know, psychological thriller.
I like psychological thrillers. But Iwould say that, you know,
good horror is. I think thepeople that are real fans of it would

(05:15):
tell you that it's what it's foris it's for purging people's own individual fears
and their own terrors. They goand they see that and then they kind
of get to purge those terrors.I think that is absolutely what alexis Jack
Now, who wrote and directed itwas doing, and I could tell she
had a real vision and a freshvoice. From her short short film Clock,

(05:40):
which also is on Hulu. Peoplecan see that there too, And
that was sent to me along withthe script, and I you know,
when I saw that, I thought, oh, you know, this is
a really fresh take on you know, sort of the unique pressures of being
a woman in society. And Ireally I really liked it and wanted to
work with her. Well, Molura, I've seen some some clips of this.

(06:01):
I haven't seen the whole thing intruth, so I know it's it's
Friday. Um, it's exciting,it's Hulu. We're all going to be
watching it. Women especially love horrormovies. They've done studies. Maybe we
know we're harboring stuff. Who knows. You know. Sometimes I watch a
lot of horror stuff and my husband'slike, are we good? Everything okay
here? And you know, I'mlike, yeah, no problem. As
long as we're you know, aslong as you're doing what I need,

(06:24):
we're good. But I'm going tobe watching this, so I'm very excited.
But one more thing, I don'tknow how much time I have loved
with you. But another thing,I like about clock is that I think
sometimes reality also when movies are donewith a little bit of truth and reality
to them, I think they're evenscarier, right, Like there's that psychological

(06:44):
feel, don't you agree? Yeah, totally, totally yes, And this
and this is it definitely has that. It's it's very close to the bone
I think for some people, andI think that makes it really powerful.
Um. I know I don't wantto talk about other streaming networks or whatever,
but I you need to give youa nod for Transparent. Just fantastic,
absolutely incredible in there all of yourprojects. I really just love having

(07:08):
a chance to chat with you.Do you think you will consider or do
you have anything that maybe we don'tknow about. I know you mentioned the
documentary. Will will come back toyou for that, but would you consider
doing structured I don't even know ifyou called sitcom, drama, drama or
whatever show a TV a structure TVshow or series again, would you consider
that? Oh? Yeah, forsure. I mean, you know,

(07:29):
I'm always just looking for opportunities tobe creative. So whatever whatever comes in
my way that really you know, lights me up that way it excites me,
then that's going to be that's goingto be what I'm doing next.
All right, Well, Clock isexclusively on Hulu this Friday. We are
getting an exclusive right here. Itwill, from what I understand, go

(07:49):
on other streaming platforms at a laterday in time, so we'll keep you
up to that. Melaura Harden notonly beautiful, funny, many talents home
interior decorator. Oh if I buyyour wallpaper, will you come over and
give me a DIY with it?Because I am clue, I am not
talented in anything. To be honest, I'm sorry, but I'm not a
wallpaper hanger. You're gonna have tohire a professional for that. I cannot.

(08:15):
That is like a divorce court rightthere in our house. I'm going
to have to have someone else,to have someone else do. But you
are an absolute delay. I wishyou nothing but success in all of your
endeavors, whether they be in thisindustry or otherwise now that you're taking over
the world. But I really wishyou a lot of success with Cluck,
and I know I'll be watching it. So thank you for your time today.

(08:37):
