(00:00):
Well, hello, Jim, howare you. I'm very good, how
are you excellent? Well, thisis my first time actually getting to interview
you, so I'm kind of excited, and I mean, there's so many
things I want to ask and say. But first of all, thanks for
everything. I've so enjoyed you overthe years of all your movies. And
my mom is like, literally shewatches your canine movie Jerry. She watches
(00:24):
that on like every other week. She's she knows it, and I just
need to like bring that up becausewell, tell her thank you, and
Teller, I still have a Germanshepherd. And actually the German shepherd,
his name is Paul, is onGrowing Belushi also, so he's got a
little cameos in the TV show. That's what I want to talk about now.
(00:45):
In your third season Congratulations. Bythe way, it already premiered her
already April, Thank you, thankyou. Yeah, it's been out since
April fifth. It's on Wednesday nightsas six episodes, and you go to
Discovery Plus and see the first twoseasons. But tonight it's on Discovery Yeah,
and then it'll it'll all end upthere eventually, But if you want
to catch up that's a good pointto do that. But you know here
(01:07):
in Connecticut now they've just legalized recreationalmarijuana. Everybody. You know, we
have X amount of dispensaries opening uphere and there. What have you learned
trial by error in doing what you'redoing because there's so many rules to follow.
So in starting all of this, what was the research like and doing
all of it? Oh my god, that is a big, big question.
(01:30):
Because I've been doing this for sevenyears and it's a constant research and
it's a constant education. I thinkthat's why I like it, because I
like all the challenges and overcoming thechallenges and through that being educated myself.
And I'm trying to show that educationon growing pollution because it's not just about
(01:51):
me growing cannabis. It's about megrowing as a man and you know,
spiritually as a man, but alsogrowing as a businessman and a person.
And this relationship with the cannabis hasbeen great. But by the way,
congratulations Connecticut for going legal. It'sabout time and everybody there. It's really
(02:13):
going to make a difference in people'slives. So you're a legal cannabis farmer
way, and I know you're I'mnot bringing up anything, trust me on
this one. But you know youand your neighbors. We'll just leave it
at that. But like, howwas that received? I mean, where
is your farman? How did thatall come about? Well, I'm in
the southern Oregon and an agricultural areaalong the Road River, and if you
(02:38):
watch the first episode, you'll seeabout the neighbor. The neighbor, unfortunately,
it was victimized by a organized crimeoutfit that kind of intimidated him to
grow, they said to him.But what they were doing was growing,
uh, cannabis illegally and my barndown mysteriously. In the first episode,
(03:01):
we expoil the possibility of this organizedcrime organization burning it down. It's it's
it's in Oregon. My neighbors areall oregan. It's part of their state's
economy. They support it terrifically. And there's some conservative people there. You
(03:23):
know. The thing about the medicineof cannabis is that it reaches over the
blue and the red states and conservativesand liberals because everybody has one thing in
common. Everybody knows somebody who's struggling, screaming inside, whether it's from anxiety
or PTSD or Alzheimer's or you know, going through chemotherapy and losing your appetite
(03:47):
and seizures. And also people wantto feel good. There's nothing wrong.
You should never feel guilty about feelingthat. We go through the day trying
to feel good, you know, whether we have a drink or we go
see entertainment and we go out todinner, and so cannabis is a very
safe way to feel good and there'sa lot of medical benefits to him.
(04:11):
Now let's talk a little bit aboutbringing your family into this. Is this
is you know, some people havecertain legacies they leave behind. You know,
maybe yours would have been comedy orsinging and or acting or however,
did you, in your believe anyof that. I didn't leave any of
that behind. I'm doing a TVshow about cannabis, so I'm blending the
two. That's true. That's that'strue, So that the legacy would be
(04:33):
the legacy is still the farmer, though, because this is something that you're
cultivating that is generational at this pointwith with the land, right, yes,
yes, I mean the land.As a farmer. They used to
go hey there, uh you know, soybean, and now I have a
bunch of cattle on it, havingbabies. By the way, I got
(04:56):
fifty little little cute little cabs onearound and having so much fun. And
I'm going cannabis, you know, cannabis. I'm going on like one acre
and I have a ninety three acrefarm. So, oh my gosh.
What's that like being the head ofyou know, like you you are living
the yellow Stone life right if youwill. But what is it like to
(05:18):
have that I'm a cannabis cowboy girl? How can people follow you on social
I mean, I have all thisinformation. It's so stupid to add,
so automatic that we ask these questions. But you know, I've got all
the links up to follow you thefarm and everything like that. And of
course, currently in season three onDiscovery you can watch Discovery Plus for the
(05:41):
first two. Uh this is it'sa great show. And the comedy is
still in there, and the actingis still in there and the the interaction
I love. But if people wantto get more information about you, will
follow the farm. What's the bestplace to do that? Well, yeah,
you know, just Jim Belushi.Just type in Jim Belushi, you
know, and it'll show you Belushi'sfarm on Instagram and TikTok and Facebook and
(06:05):
you know Jim Belushi or Jim orBelushi's farm all right, and it'll lead
you to all the information you need. I know you got to go live
in just a bit. But Iwant to get back to German shepherds.
We all have German shepherds. I'vegot my German shepherd puppy Wolfgang right behind
me right now. Um are animalswhere they always like something for you,
because I always like to talk tomy guests about, you know, the
(06:27):
relationship and the impact of having youknow, dogs, cats, pets.
Now you've got cattle, what thatmeans to you in your life. I
have really two special relationships. Onewith cannabis because it's really been an interactive
thing. And the feminized plant bringsa beautiful feminine energy into my life and
(06:50):
has healed me in so many ways. But the main thing it's been my
My, My Tara. You whois in the show by the way,
you got a little cameos. Heis, uh, you know the guy
I can't go to the bathroom abouthim playing in front of me. I
(07:11):
mean he follows me everywhere, heprotects me, and he's just a real
ass. About the ball. That'sall you know. Blah blah blah blah
blah blah blah blah blah blah blahblah blah. I mean, even now,
I swear in the sound of hisbark is starting to sound like ball.
(07:35):
I mean he's starting to put thebee on it. German shepherds are
so no, like you could paintyour body in meat, but they're like,
oh, ball instead. No,I totally get that, but oh
my gosh, my German shepherd. He will literally paint the house for a
ball, the ball, doing theball, paint the ceiling, paint the
(07:59):
ceiling up on netline, and I'llgive you the ball. I love it
all right. I know you gottago growing, Belushi, I'll discover you've
been a pleasure. I have agreat day. Thank you so much for
joining us. Please please give mylove to your mother. Tell her thank
you for her support. Oh mygosh, she's gonna die with this.
Thank you so much.
