Richard Skinner joins us on Wednesdays. He's with Local twelve

Is the Bengals get said to host the New England
Patriots on Sunday?

Speaker 2 (00:21):
Only seven games to go? Hi Skinny, Hi mo.

Speaker 3 (00:25):
So. I didn't get chance hear the Mike Tyson interview
because I was busy doing some other stuff. We after this,
did he sing in the air tonight? I shan't you know?

Speaker 1 (00:32):
We should have asked him to do that. That was
not That was not something that we were able to
get to. But perhaps perhaps the next time we have
Mike on, well, we'll see if we can get that done.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
All right, Joe Burrow practiced. Is he gonna play on Sunday?

Speaker 3 (00:46):
No? I think it's a long shot. He's practicing full,
although I'm guessing he the very least split reps, if
not gave up less rep or had less reps compared
to Jake Browning Joe Blaco. The plan was never from
the practice. This this today, This is the third straight Wednesday,
he's missed. He's gonna throw tomorrow. We'll see how that goes.

(01:07):
He says he feels good. He says his whole body
feels good. We'll see. And I just think I think
rushing Joe Burrow back out there. I will say this
in the locker room today. So we get down the
Flacco's press commas. I had to go talk to a
couple of players, and I left the locker room early
to go transcribe part of Flacco. And as I walked
past Burrow's locker, He's sitting in it, and I kid
you not, he looked like he had just been shell

(01:28):
shocked from zero blitzes for like fifty three plays. Like
what just happened to me? I literally it took me aback,
like I thought i'd walk by. Now. He's got that
hairdoo now right where it just drapes in his face.
Sometimes he's all over the map. He needs a haircut.
But I literally I walked by him, and I looked,
and I talked to another meme him. I go, it's okay,
I don't know, man, that looked weird. I go, sure,
did so?

Speaker 1 (01:50):
I mean, do you think he was dealing with some
sort of physical discomfort is their emotional trauma for realizing
there are seven more Bengals games to go, Like, what
did any idea what he's dealing with.

Speaker 3 (02:01):
I'll go the ladder. I'll go to the ladder because
again he did practice in full, which means he got
through the practice physically. Again, I know he didn't take
all the reps. I'm gonna go with with the ladder, like, Okay,
now I'm good enough to traumas and play. Do I
really want to? If you do? I don't know.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (02:19):
Dejon Anthony was back in practice. Can he play on Sunday?

Speaker 3 (02:22):
Yay? I think he can anybody.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
But Gino's don't literally anybody.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
I'm kind of with you. I'm kind I'm very much
with you. And the weird part is that we've talked
about is that nauseum. I mean, this wasn't like something
we didn't know last year, clear evidence of last year,
and yet you said no, we're good. In fact, we're
good enough with the depth and it's not gonna matter
there either. Even though we don't want to play the
guys by him because don't think they can play. What

(02:48):
are we doing?

Speaker 2 (02:51):
I keep framing it like this.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
You know, if I if I if Duke Tobin worked
for me, and I go, hey man, the genostone thing
just hasn't worked, that's a different discussion. Who else do
we got it? The answer is, uh, well, we can't
play any of these other guys. Well, that's that's another
damning indictment against you.

Speaker 3 (03:09):
Correct, It's a down one thousand percent. Look, if you
thought it was okay to run Gino and Jordan back
and say a new coordinator with new ideas, who knows
how to handle the safety position, he's gonna make this work.
You'll still have to have a backup plan of some kind.
You were so if you were banking on that, you
were banking on those two guys getting do all seventeen

games healthy. You can't bank on that ever in the NFL.
And yet they did. And on top of that, sadly,
they've both been healthy, healthy, and they both stink.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
Has Trey Hendrickson played his last game as a Bengal man.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
I knew you were gonna ask that question to me.
I'm gonna say no for this reason. He's gonna have
to put up something wherever that timeframe comes, and it
may be Okay, here's a three game stretch I can
excel in, which is the Dolphins, the Cardinals, the Browns,
because we got a chance to take a lead, and
I'll be the closer and I'll close those three games

(04:05):
and people will think I'm the Trey Hendrickson of you know,
the last couple of seasons when I had seventeen and
a half sacks. He has to do that mode. He's
not gonna get paid. I mean, you're not going to
do this on the income.

Speaker 4 (04:15):
Of Yeah, I know you probably made business decisions. I
get it, but even when you played, you only had
really one good game, and at thirty two years old,
coming off supposedly a hip and back in Pelvis and
whatever other issue business decision issues, you're really gonna pay
that guy?

Speaker 3 (04:30):
Mo? I mean, asta, would you really pay that guy? No? No,
I don't think any team will. And so he has
to come back in some capacity at some level for
at least, in my opinion, at least three games and
maybe more than. I mean maybe maybe he legitimately is
hurt to the point where he can't play. I mean,
he's hurt to the point where he's hurt. I don't
know if it's hurt to the point where he can't play.

(04:52):
But I never want to speak for a player's injury situation.
I just Bee's it's not fair. I'm not that person.
But here question, I do think he plays because I
do think he'll get healthy enough in whatever capacity that
is to go out and play, like I said, at
least the final three games, to say, Okay, this is me, guys,
you see me. I know I'm about to turn thirty two,
but I can still do this.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
Do you get the sense that Jermaine Burton has been
burning the candle at both ends to get ready to
to get ready to replace Jamar Chase.

Speaker 2 (05:19):
I can't even say without laughing.

Speaker 3 (05:23):
Okay, if you'd have just done the burning candones a
full hands stop, I'd have said, sure he sure is.
It's not surprising that he is. I would have taken
you up on that part of it. Here's what's going
to be so weird about Sunday, right, So they technically
only have four receivers up at the moment. If you're
going through the whole active roster situation, which is t

(05:44):
Andrea Yoshabash, Tinsley and Charlie Jones, and usually you keep
a fist up, and you could argue if they decide
to activate Mike Kisiki, which I do think they'll do,
if you can carry four tight ends into Sunday and
still carry four wide receivers and go, we're good. The
thing that'll be interesting is if they elevate like Kendrick
Pryor from the practice squat on Saturday and he's active

and Jermaine Burton isn't. I mean, at that point, what
are we doing?

Speaker 2 (06:10):
Uh? Would any of us be surprised?

Speaker 3 (06:12):
Though? No, no, I Li Jilly, I like that sounds
like it's in play. If you're gonna carry five five
receivers like you normally do, and you don't trust your
mane in any way, shape or form, and you don't
do you just go to heck with it. Man, We're
gonna embarrass this guy even further until he gets his
act together. And it is such a weird circumstance because
they don't believe in him. They've they've given up on him,

(06:35):
and they should because he's given up on himself. And
at that point, what why why Mike Brown is he's
still on the roster. I mean, I know you're trying
to probably help a kid because your father planning again.
And I'm all for that in some ways, but this
kid can't get out of his own way. At some
point he just go that's can't we can't do this anymore.
We're good, but they still i mean, he's still on
the fifty three because they can't even think about putting on.

(06:59):
And even this week when you're missing your best guy
and he he should be at least after Jamar's gone,
one of your five best and you still might not
have him on the field, and it's a party that wonders.
It's and you know, we we don't get clarification on this,
but there's a party that also wonders are they planning
on him playing? And then when Saturday comes and he

(07:19):
misses a Saturday meeting, which he probably will because it
is what he does, then what do you do?

Speaker 2 (07:25):
You know, he might just not show up for the game.

Speaker 1 (07:27):
I mean, there's the The possibilities with Jermaine Burton are
unfortunately endless. Thank youss, and seven more games of this
