(00:00):
Yeah, what's up? Five ohfive ESPN fifteen thirty. By the way,
thank you for your help. Ican access ESPN. Now, all
right, what are we doing now? Oh, Miles Robinson is going to
be on the show in thirty minutes. FC Cincinnati All Star US Olympian that

(00:20):
coming up in thirty and a formerNFL quarterback is mad at Joe Burrow.
Plus I think I I think I'mbeing convinced the Reds are actually better than
the standings would indicate. But first, let's go back to Vegas. Big
twelve media days happening right now.Scott Springer covers Using Sports for the Cincinnati

(00:43):
Inquirer and Cincinnati dot Com. Heis in Vegas. Are you are you
out there melting? Are you? What's what is the heat doing to you?
You know what? I like?He I don't have an issue with
it, So I just this ison vacation. Like two weeks ago.
My wife and I came here andthen we went into Utah to a bunch
of the parks and it was hot. Supposed to be hot. It's called

(01:06):
summertime. So you know, talkto me in January and February when it's
twenty and tell me you know,I'll take I'll take the heat. I
like them good. I like thatvery good. That was the answer.
That was the answer that I wanted. It feels like there's been some encouraging
news regarding Dante Corleone. Should Ifeel encouraged that, look, we're all
rooting for him from a health perspectiveto be okay, but that maybe maybe

(01:30):
he could help the Bearcats sooner ratherthan later. Well, that's what it
sounds like. You know. CoachSatterfield said he thinks he'll be fine.
He was doing some interviews before theydid the official program and everything, and
I pulled him aside and just said, you know, heads up, I'm
going to be asking you about Dante. And then he just started giving me
an answer, and he said, yeah, he's been back running with him

(01:52):
for the past week. You know, it was kind of delayed the reporting
on that incident. He was outof hospital late June fourteenth, but you
know, I didn't really leak outuntil late in the month. So I
think they've done a great job attreating them. Aaron Himler there and the
sports medicine staff and the doctor Devine, and you know, he wants to

(02:15):
play. I think the big thingfrom my understanding, when you have blood
clotch, you have to take thesethings called anti coagulants. I once had
to take them, and you justcan't have a whole ton of physical activity
when you're doing that. But thereis players that have had that type thing
before and played. And the neatthing was Coach Satterfield said that that Neil

(02:38):
Brown from West Virginia called him immediatelyand they had a player last year that
had a similar condition who did play. So that part of its trending pretty
good. And the fact that he'sbank is pretty good and he was his
health checks out otherwise pretty well,so you know, I was, it's
a key cog in your defense there. You're going to the three three,
five, and you need to havethat mean guy in the middle. I

(03:00):
think they'll be fine if they haveto go a game or two without him,
but hopefully he can get in andstart right away and you can see
if this defense is gonna work.Tyson Vite. Matt Campbell was just up
at today as a couple minutes agoand he had great things to say about
Tyson Vite. He was with himthere at Toledo and an Iowa State so

(03:20):
it's an interesting defense. It's aninteresting year that they've got. Everyone keeps
saying, mind you think they're goingto be better, saying, you got
forty seven new players who on thehoof looked better. They look better on
paper, but we've not seen them. And every college is in that predicament
because you know, you're building culturenow based on one year. It's not
the three and four year build anymore. It's like right now. A key

(03:44):
a key news item, though,is they have fixed the Cincinnati sign in
the locker room presentation that they showedon the turf. They have prepared it
and added the appropriate extra in.I think it was did they put an
extra tea in Cincinnati, which isa common mistake. Did they apologize?
No? No, but they didfix it briefly, it said Mason Fletcher

(04:06):
about that. So Mason Fletcher brieflywas one of the big twelve. Now
it's just a punter. But yeah, dude, I'm glad they brought him
along. Yeah, and that's quitea luxury they have too, because his
brother Max was terrific last year andI said, well, how do you

(04:27):
convince your brother to come to UCand not play next year? And he
goes just the family issue. Sothe Max is waiting in the wings,
and there's a guy that was,you know, forty six yards of boot
last year. So the Max Fletchercon booted and Mason Fletcher was a Rey
Guy finalist. So you know,I never root to see the punter.
But in the case that you do, I think you're in pretty good shape.

(04:49):
Yeah, I'm with you on thatfrom an offensive perspective, and I
know Soresby Brendan Sorosby, isn't thereEverything I hear is really encouraging? Would
they be able to do more thingsoffensively than they did last year? They
ran the ball great. I thoughtthe guys they had on the outside were
going to be okay, we neverreally got a chance to see that.

(05:11):
What sort of things should they beable to do offensively that we that were
lacking a year ago. Well,I think they're obviously going to have an
accomplished run game, and I thinkthe receivers, again we haven't seen them
in competition, But just if you'relooking at the roster, if you're looking
at the guys, the physical specimensthat have been in, they look better.

(05:31):
In the spring, they looked better. Xavier Henderson you know, caught
a ton of balls last year andhe's back. And then you've got guys
that you haven't really seen play yet, but Tony Johnson and Tyron Smith,
and I think the tight end roomis probably better than people think. I
think Joe Royer's always to have adecent year if he stays healthy. And
then you know Joey Belgium that noone heard of him last year because he

(05:54):
got hurt back in the spring andhe was a transfer from Weshton Kentucky that
they're very high on. And theyhave another tighty end from Louisville, and
the young Titans looked pretty good.So everyone early on looks good. It's
just you got to get into theschedule and see what happens. Now,
hopefully what happened last year doesn't happen. You know last year too, and
oh from the start, everyone's optimistic. Then you have the Miami game this

(06:17):
year. You have a chance. If you look at the schedule in theory,
you could see a four and ohstart. Now, I'm not saying
that's what's going to happen. Youshould beat Towson. You've got to hit
who's going to come in and probablyangry, but it's at home. You
should go up to Oxford and takeout your frustrations from losing last year.
And then you have Houston coming inas Game four as your opener of the

(06:42):
Big Twelve, and that's a teamthat you've eat on the road last year.
So you get a four and ohstart and then roll the dice and
get a couple more wins and youknow, hopefully there's a ball game.
I can tell you there's both peoplehere that we're talking to John Cunningham,
you know, so the deple areaware of it, and some of the
major publications said they should get there. So you know, again I'm not

(07:03):
you know, I'm in Vegas, but I'm not that type of gambler.
We're going to say, yeah, you know, guarantee seven wins, but
I think they're fully capable of it. Did did did fourteen in the preseason
poll? Then feel low to youor about where you would have thought felt
real low? Felt low. Ithink people were lazy on that and they
just looked at last year three andnine record and said, well, you

(07:26):
know, they got some new guys, but they weren't very good. But
you know, all those guys thatmaybe you thought weren't very good. You've
got your entire starting offensive lineback. What kind of luxury is that when you're
in a center field offense that runsthe ball, you know, two hundred
plus yards a game. So Ithink that that's a big luxury. I
think, you know, Corey Kineris going to be better, and the
guys behind him are better, andthey're pretty quick, and they came from

(07:49):
pretty good places too, So offensively, I don't it wasn't the total issue
last year. It was defense. And you know, hopefully among all the
new DV that you have in thisnew defense, hopefully somebody stops somebody and
and you're onto something. But Ithink that I think it's very key to
get to a bowl game this year. And I've been hanging around John Cunningham

(08:11):
and he's pretty much said as much. And he's the one that's being approached
by, you know, both peoplewho are saying, well, I know
you guys want to win nine orten. But if you know that's what's
going on, I mean, Ican tell you that the guy from it's
the Liberty Bowl guys walking around,he's one of them, and they just
they're talking to schools now they scoutout teams that that maybe have the possibility

(08:35):
and they're looking for teams that mighthave an interest in incoming. So so
that's one. And then for thefuture of Brett Yormark made no mistake.
They want they want to be apart of the Vegas Bowl. So big
Fwell is going to become in aVegas for some time because because Brett likes
it, and what Brett says goes, uh yeah, no do ball representatives.

(08:58):
I mean, like I like myjob, you like yours, But
in another life, I want tobe a ball representative. That seems like
an easy, sort of fun gig. Oh yeah, I've always wanted an
Orange sports code and to be likean Orange Bowl guy, you know,
and you just you go around andyou know, you dish out some oranges
and say, well, we'd likeyou to come, but I'm not sure.

(09:18):
And maybe if you give me astake, I'll think about it.
You know, that'd be a goodgig. It sounds like a pretty good
you farewell as a bull rep.I do too. I you know,
I might see if there's any openingsat any of the bulls and see if
I can do that, at leaston a part time basis. All right,
man, I appreciate it, enjoyVegas and we'll talk soon. Thanks

(09:39):
so much, all right, seeyou
