Speaker 1 (00:00):
Right now, though, it's time to talk with our fantasy
football expert. He has been a big part of our
show for years. Our guy, Dan Klaskens, host of Fantistics
Insider Football on Sirius XM Fantasy. Make sure you check
out insiderfootball.com. I went one and one this week, Dan.
(00:21):
I won one game. The other I lost by close
to 90 points. Hey, take a little, give a little, Mo.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
I mean, you know, we'll take average. We'll take average.
It's better than below average. But week two will tell
the true tale, I believe. And that's a great segue
because don't chase that week one box score, man. So
right now, everybody, it's like overreaction, overreaction city. Week one
fantasy points aren't particularly predictive. Usage is what matters. So
(00:50):
let's focus on the routes, the targets, the touches, the
red zone work. That's going to tell us what's coming.
I mean, Jamison Williams, he's playing tonight. It's a great example.
Quite a fantasy day last week, but 95% route participation, 25%
target share. Don't overreact a week to one point. Follow
the opportunity. I've got a few other players here that
just sort of build off of that with in the
(01:11):
same sense. And Jack Prescott, I mean, better than the
box score presents here. I mean, it wasn't great last week,
but now he gets Washington a game at 50 and
a half point total. I love him as a bounce
back candidate. I think by Shelton is another guy here
in Jacksonville that 16 opportunities last week for six for
Chris Rodriguez. Yeah, I realized he didn't deliver the huge numbers. But, hey,
(01:34):
Denver gave up 197 yards to Kansas City running back.
So I'm not making him a bell cow, but I
think there's room to grow there, as with his teammate
Parker Washington, who 26% target share essentially ended before the
halftime blowout. So it's a tough matchup here, Mo, with
Denver coming up here. But Jacksonville, the trends and the
numbers showing us a lot of goodness potentially ahead there.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
Let's take a look at some critical Week 2 injuries
worth paying attention to.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
I'm sure you talked all day, all week here about
Joe Burrow since yesterday about Joe Burrow's back. But, I mean, obviously,
his increased workload Thursday, he's playing. We're not particularly concerned
about that. There are some other quarterback issues we are
watching for fantasy. And Tyler Murray, one of them, he
is still in concussion protocol. He's in the fourth stage
of it as of this morning, which is really good.
(02:24):
He practiced limited on Wednesday. So this is big for
Justin Jefferson, the entire that's Minnesota, Chicago fantasy game. It
could be blowout city or lots of points. Sam Darnold.
We know he's out through locks and start this week.
So we're downgrading Seattle, potentially getting a better game script
there for Arizona, the entire Falcons quarterback rooms. It has
a tool with his oblique, Michael panics with his knee,
Cooper rush, the QB three. He's all in there. So
(02:47):
we'll see how it goes. That would be a situation
to watch closely on Friday. They're running back. Buzzkill City
for Jordan Mason. Owner's placed on IR. So Aaron Jones
is going to be the next man up there in
that full workload, mostly in Minnesota. That's a good thing.
We're keeping our eyes on R.J. Harvey. His hamstring issue
will be dialed. J.K. Dobbins gets a bigger boost. And
DeAndre Swift, he's a little bit limited right now. Knee
(03:07):
and ankle, still expecting him to go, but something to monitor.
And then, obviously, the biggest injury news breaking here in
the last 24 hours, Nico Collins with his hamstring. Major concern.
Heard it Wednesday. Missed today. They're calling it a grade
one stain. I'm preparing for he sits this week versus
the Bengals maybe a couple weeks. Fantasy managers need to
have a backup. And Zay Flowers, same type thing. Two
(03:28):
straight did not practice it. I'm increasingly skeptical that he
doesn't play. It's week two. He's dealing with a hamstring injury.
If he's out, Mark Andrews gets a big boost. Ladman
Contney with his ribs this Wednesday. We're going to see
what he does today. Jordan Coker coming off a huge game,
dealing with a little bit of an ankle issue. Not
really too concerned there. Michael Pittman Jr. and Jacoby Myers,
a couple other wideouts we're watching. And then the tight
(03:49):
end news. There's no news. No good news, at least
on Brock Fowler. He did not practice again today. I'm
preparing as though he could sit. Michael Mayer, the hometown
hero here, becomes a legitimate streamer again. And Chigokako, we'll
keep our eyes on the commander's tight end. He missed Wednesday,
I believe, in week one. Not necessarily all that over-concerned now,
but a situation to monitor on the left.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
Dan Klaskens, Fantistics, Insider Football, Sirius XM Fantasy. Check out InsiderFootball.com.
It would not be a week... for fantasy owners without
you going through your studs, duds, and sleepers?
Speaker 2 (04:22):
Yeah, let's get through them, my friend. And studs is
where we'll start, and we'll start with Caleb Williams. He
was fantasy's QB one in week one. Love the fact
he had seven scrambles, two rushing touchdowns. That's a huge
rushing floor. Chicago's offense, 59 points. I expect plenty of volume.
Sharp Money has also hit this game on the over,
so don't overthink the matchup. Caleb is in home and
on offense looking ready to score. My other stud, also
(04:44):
pretty obvious coming out of last week, Kenneth Walker. And
his KC debut, 191 total yards and a touchdown, 26 touches,
just dominated the backup, all the work inside the 10. And, oh, yeah,
Indianapolis just gave up Derrick Henry, 24 carries, 144 yards
and three touchdowns. I don't need another 173 rushing yards.
I just need another massive workload. I think we'll get
it with Walker. From studs to duds, Marshawn Lloyd at
(05:06):
the Jets. This one is scary to me. Brooks, Chris
Brooks started and out-snapped him last week, 37-30. Lloyd did
get 13 touches, but just 2.9 yards a carry. Josh
Jacobs being out mode doesn't automatically mean Lloyd inherited this
job glory good, so tread carefully. Harold Fannin at Tampa Bay,
really this whole Cleveland passing attack. Yikes. Only three targets
(05:26):
in week one for the tight end. Bigger concern is
Cleveland's dramatic drop in two tight end formations. It was
a big game change under the new regime here. The
Masters find my concerns. The roles change. Errol Bannon needs
to play his way back in the lineups for me.
And then the sleepers of the week, I'm going to
go with Antonio Williams at Dallas. I love the rookie wideout.
Loved him all summer. He only ran 11 routes last week,
but four targets, went four for 64 and one. I
(05:49):
really love the separation, the target earning metrics. It's a
50 and a half point total. I think he gets involved.
I'm taking a stab there. My final sleeper of the week,
Tyler Algier versus Seattle. Hey, man, going back to what
I said at the top, 17 carries, 57% of the
snaps in week one. Jeremiah Love is awesome. He's great,
but right now he's not getting the volume. So with
Darnold out, I think Arizona is taking a sharp market
(06:11):
support here. I'm expecting the Cardinals to be in this one,
and everyone wants the exciting rookie, but this week I'll
take the veteran who's already getting the touches.
Speaker 3 (06:19):
Makes sense to me. Dan Klaskens is with us.
Speaker 1 (06:22):
Week one is in the books, but that doesn't mean
that it's too late to get involved in the Do
Good Fantasy Salary Cap Challenge. Tell folks how they can
get involved and play fantasy while helping to support America's vets.
Speaker 2 (06:36):
I love it, Mo.
Speaker 3 (06:37):
Yeah, you missed week one.

Speaker 3 (07:00):
Awesome as always, man. Thank you very much.
Speaker 2 (07:04):
All right, brother. Best of luck to you. 2-0 this week, Mo.
Speaker 1 (07:07):
2-0.
Speaker 3 (07:07):
2-0 and 1-1, and I'll be a happy man when
we talk next Thursday.
Speaker 2 (07:11):
All right. Looking forward to it already.
