Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's time to talk fantasy football with our guy, Dan Klaskens,
host of Fantistics Insider Football on Sirius XM Fantasy. Check
out insiderfootball.com. We bounced back, Dan, last week. Back-to-back wins,
2-0 in one league, 1-1 in the other. I'm back, baby.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
You are back, Mo, and that's impressive, dude. You talk
it up, positive affirmations, good things happen. Yep, yep.

Speaker 1 (00:26):
I manifested it. I visualized it, and here we are.
So if you're one of those losers who's 0-2, what
advice do you have for them?

Speaker 2 (00:35):
Well, first of all, let's not panic, right? I mean,
two games, tiny sample. Be aggressive, but don't make desperation
moves based purely on your record. First question, Mo, I
always ask is, why are you 0-2? Was your team
struggling to score, or did you simply just get beat
by two higher-scoring opponents, right? We talk about, too, those
underneath layers, touches, targets, routes, playing time. Those are what

(00:55):
we really want to focus on. If those underlying numbers
remain strong, don't sell a good player at its lowest value.
And bottom line, though, we're always trying to prove 0-2, 2-0, 1-1.
It doesn't matter. Each week you should try to get
your team better. So most fantasy seasons, with 14 games
and 0-2 teams, still have 12 games remaining. So go
7-5 the rest of the way, and guess what? You're 7-7.

(01:18):
So plenty of time, but now you need to start
making good decisions. And here's the bottom line. Your record
tells you how urgent the situation is. Those underlying numbers
are going to tell us what to do about it.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
One thing you could do about it is take a
look at your league's waiver wire. Let's look at the
week three waiver wire.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
You know what? I messed up and sent you the
wrong notes, Moe, because waiver wire is outdated. They were
looking at the injury report. That's my fault. That's my
fault for not changing the header there. Hey, let's do injuries.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
We'll pretend we're taping this. Let's do injuries for week three.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
Yes, yes. There are a lot of them to get to.
We'll go position by position. Let's start quarterback. Obviously, Jaden Daniels, dude,
that made Buzzkill City there for the commanders and his owners.
Out now, who knows for how long with this elbow issue.
Marcus Mariota, he takes over. Daniels is expected to miss
multiple weeks. Mariota immediately becomes interesting. in super flex leagues,
deeper formats because it's rushing outside. Caleb Williams, obviously, with

(02:18):
the hamstring, did not practice today. Tyson Bajent, also out
of practice with a concussion. Case Keenum, currently taking first-team reps,
looking like the most likely starter in this Monday night matchup.
We're going to want to pay attention to that for sure.
Jackson Dart, obviously, devastating injury there. So, it's Jameis Winston
time for the rest of the season. Downgrade all the Giants.

(02:39):
Good news with Kyler Murray being cleared for his concussion.
Michael Penix, also, Expected to make his season debut off
that knee injury there. Good news at running back Saquon
Barkley back at practice today. That's encouraging. So we're expecting
him to play through that stinger issue there on Thursday night.
We also got Rico Dowdell with a toe. Second straight

(02:59):
in this practice there for the Steelers on Thursday. He's
trending in the wrong direction. And their other running back,
Jalen Warren, was limited today. Spears is on track to play.
We did get some good news with Vikings running back
Aaron Jones. He returned to practice today after sitting out yesterday.
He's trending towards playing this week. If he for some
reason can't go, rookie DeMond Claiborne is in line for
a larger role. Both Titans running backs, Tony Pollard and

(03:19):
TyJ Spears, they are dinged up. Pollard returned to practice today.
Spears missed two straight. They're talking about a Northeaster, very
crazy weather conditions in that Titans-Giants game. So a lot
of things to pay attention to there. Travis Achan, former ETN.
He is now dealing with a hamstring injury, remaining a
little limited. So a lot of different things there. At receiver,

(03:40):
Nico Collins with the hamstring. He's still not practicing, nor
is Zay Flowers with his hamstring. Kuka Nakua not heading
in a good direction. He's a primetime guy. Right now,
it sounds like any three of those stud wideouts are
in there.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
This week.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
Michael Pittman, two consecutive limited practice here for the Steelers.
That's good news. He appears to be training towards playing.
Kamara's practice obviously being critical. Jayla Coker, he's got an
ankle issue after an electrifying first two weeks. He didn't
practice again Thursday after a limited on Wednesday, so we're
going to want to watch that. DJ Moore not back
at practice yet today. Don't think he looks like he's
playing anytime soon, so not getting any better there. And, oh, yeah,

(04:14):
tight ends. Let's start with some good news. Brock Bowers,
encouraging trajectory. He practiced again Thursday. He's now participating in
three consecutive practices, looking like he's going to play his
first game of the week. Same camp, he said, for
Dallas Goddard. He's out for a few weeks here with
an MCL issue. And then you've got Terrence Ferguson with
an ankle issue. This one's I'm only mentioning because if
Pukunuku is out, Ferguson's actually very viable, but right now

(04:37):
he's questionable. So we'll see Friday's status before we make
any decisions there, and we'll also keep our eyes on
Mason Taylor for the Jets. He did not practice again
today with a dumb injury.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
Dan Klaskens, host of Fantistics, insider football on SiriusXM Fantasy.
We've done this so long now that you know I'm
Ron Burgundy of radio. So if you put it in
front of me, I'm going to read it. Let's take
a look at your week three studs, duds, and sleepers.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
Yes, sir. My favorite part of the segment. Let's start
with those studs, Mo. We'll start with a couple big-name studs.
Jonathan Taylor will top my list. We love that elite workload.
It remains the foundation for him. He's involved both as
a runner and as a receiver. Matchup's tough against Houston,
but that definitely sets him for another high-volume opportunity. Historically,
it's just ridiculous against him. In career games, 10 of

(05:24):
them in his career, 10 touchdowns, 18.3 fantasy points per game.
I'm firing him up. I think he's in for a
big week. I think Devontae Smith is in for a
big week to the Eagle receiver on Monday night at Chicago. Yeah. 27%
of the target share for the Eagles in week one, 38%
this week. Now you got Dallas Goddard out with an
MCL injury, a Chicago defense on the other end of it. Hello.

(05:47):
Get him into your lineup. On the Duds side, Marvin
Harrison Jr. definitely on my Duds list here. And really,
it's the involvement. This is one of the most concerning
things of the fantasy season so far. Just one target
in week two. Michael Wilson had seven. What's more concerning
is this difficult road matchup now against San Francisco. 6.8

(06:08):
fantasy games in three career matchups versus divisional foes. So
he's sitting on the bench. He's got to play his
way into your lineup. And Justin Herbert. I'm maybe this
is a reverse jinx. I'm trying to get here for
my Herbert shares. I don't know. It's looked ugly. You
think it's going to be a shootout. Everything says this
should be a monster game, but he's on my bench.
So he plays away and he's a dud on the season.
This whole chargers offense is, you know, he's got a

(06:30):
15.6 week to QBR. The chargers have only scored 14
points in each game. I'm sorry, Mike McDaniel. It's not
looking that explosive and Buffalo at home. It's not going
to be an easy task. And We'll leave you with
the sleepers. I mentioned both of these guys already in
the injury issues, but Marcus Mariota, he's a deep sleeper here. Listen,
quarterback's a mess right now. Of all the guys out there,
the matchup's not great versus Seattle, but I love the

(06:52):
rushing upside here. I think he's a better play today
and maybe over the next few weeks with some of
these other waiver wire guys. And then Terry Twerkson. As
I said, receiving role's been developing. Puka's injury could open
up more opportunities like it did last week. Yeah, Denver's
a difficult matchup, but If he's there, I really like
him as a back-end tight end 12 and a really
sneaky PPR play.

Speaker 1 (07:13):
It doesn't seem like it, but Veterans Day is going
to be here very, very soon. DAV is asking schools, businesses,
and community groups around the country to get involved by
hosting a field of flags. I want you to tell
everybody how they can be a part of that.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
Yeah, I appreciate that, Mo. And, you know, we talk
about DAV quite a bit here. But DAV, we help
a million veterans every single year. And as you mentioned,
the Veterans Day is coming up. And everybody wants to
thank veterans on Veterans Day. We need to do stuff
all year round. But this year specifically, you can get involved.
Every flag honors the service and sacrifice of America's veterans. And, yeah,
we're looking for schools, workplaces, communities. You can host a

(07:50):
field of flags to raise. funds and awareness for DAV.
It's a really powerful way to bring people together around
this great cause. DAV, as I said, helps a million
veterans and their families each year through free programs and services.
