Speaker 1 (00:00):
Okay, in honor of Wink Martindale, can we play some

(00:02):
TV themes up in here? It's one of six point
seven Light FM. You don't mind, Christine, Right, No, it's
Cubby Christine, producer Christen and one of my favorite game
shows and themes from the seventies early early eighties Tic
Tac Dough.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
Wink Martindale was the host that. So we just learned
that he passed away at the age of ninety one.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
Yeah, that came out last night. And he got started
in radio. He was a great DJ. He did a
couple of game shows, but Tic Tac Doe this one
right here was a big one.

Speaker 3 (00:31):
And does this bring back memories? Christine?

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Yeah, I kind of don't remember how it was played,
but the music more than anything.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
Yeah, simple trivia questions and then you wanted to avoid
the dragon.

Speaker 3 (00:43):
That dragon will pop up, rah and then your whole
boar would be ruined.

Speaker 4 (00:47):
But man, that seventies theme was there, like Jokers Wild
did that have a dragon?

Speaker 3 (00:53):
Jungers Wild had the devil Ah you.

Speaker 4 (00:56):
Had to employ the devil with the dragon.

Speaker 3 (00:59):
And another great theme by the way.

Speaker 4 (01:01):
Oh Jokers Wild.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
Yeah, now you were spinning, right, were you spinning again.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
You had to answer trivia questions. But yeah, you would
pull the thing and the three.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
Slash like a slot machine.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
The category.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
The categories would come up, Jokers Wild, Jokers Wild, and
then the bonus round. I forgot how the bonus round went.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
But a dragon was the bad news.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
Well, so the dragon was the bad news, and Tiktac.

Speaker 4 (01:26):
Dough okay, okay, I'm sorry, and the.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
Devil you wanted to avoid and Jokers.

Speaker 4 (01:30):
Wild getting lost here?

Speaker 2 (01:32):
How come I can follow Game of Thrones but not
game shows?

Speaker 4 (01:35):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:36):
Really?

Speaker 4 (01:37):
Lost?

Speaker 1 (01:37):
Are these themes? These these game show themes from the
seventies and eighties, they're a trip to me. I mean,
they're just funny. They all had that same vibe like
family feud.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
This one I know. Yeah, if you know this one.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
Kristen, because you're too young for the other ones. The
family feud never went away, that's right. Jokers Wild had
its moment, and Tic Tac Dough had its moment. But
before you were born.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
Yeah, we had a lot of game shows in the nineties.

Speaker 4 (02:03):
Was like on Nickelodeon.

Speaker 3 (02:04):
There was a lot of like those game shows something.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
But they didn't have this these golden themes.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
Right, no, like the Match Game.

Speaker 4 (02:15):
Yeah, a lot of a lot of bound, a lot
of bow.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
Yeah, brown Chicken, brown cow.

Speaker 4 (02:21):
That's how I remember it, very seventies, very.

Speaker 3 (02:24):
Chicken, brown Cow.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Didn't A lot of these come back though, like the
Newlywed game, right, it wasn't that like a thing.

Speaker 4 (02:29):
And then it went away, and then it came back,
I think, come.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
Back for well, the Match Game. A lot of these
games came back in prime time.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
There was a period, I feel like so game shows
were all over daytime TV in the seventies and eighties.
They kind of went away, I feel and then when
Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?

Speaker 3 (02:44):
Came on?

Speaker 1 (02:44):
And then late nineties early two thousand in prime time
that kind of started the whole game show trend again
in my opinion, because the Match Game came back in
prime time, Dealer No Deal came on, there was a
lot of game shows came on after it kind of
to me hit a dead spot. Yeah a Millionaire kind
of cranked it back up again.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
But again, this theme music, you can't replace this. Yeah,
it's a time capsule.

Speaker 3 (03:06):
The price is right as a classic that's ever gone away, right.

Speaker 4 (03:09):
We still get to hear that.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
Yeah, I still like, you know, just picture a lot
of orange, yellow, red shag car these.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
I got one more for you. Do you remember card Sharks?
This song, this theme should have been a single, This
should have been a hit. This is a good song, right.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
It sounds like they should go card Sharks like after
the do you remember card Sharks show?

Speaker 3 (03:35):
Higher Lower? The car would come up. It's a four.
Change that card and you can change it once.

Speaker 4 (03:43):
You know you love game shows?

Speaker 3 (03:45):
Though, well, I was homesick.

Speaker 4 (03:47):
This is back in the day they had Game Show Network.
Does that still exist? Like that really is one of
your things?

Speaker 2 (03:53):
Like you love weather, I love weather, love game shows
and I love flying and I love game shows.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
And yeah, there's buzz that's a game show channel. There's
a game show network. And then there was a pleasure out there.
They show the old passwords, and.

Speaker 4 (04:06):
I think that's why this stays with you so much.
Do you know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (04:10):
What you're saying is Cubby, move on from this bit?

Speaker 2 (04:11):
No, no, no, no, no, it's just that when you ask me,
it's like, yeah, but not like I get you.

Speaker 4 (04:17):
You know them?

Speaker 3 (04:18):
Yes I do, I do. And I'm a fan of
the brown chick a brown.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
Hey give us a text at four four, three, six
three give me your game show memories.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
I mean, Christie is like wow.
