Speaker 1 (00:00):
One O six point seven Light FM with Kubby and
Nina del Rio. She's in for Christine and producer Kristen.
So I have two ladies in the studio. So I'm
gonna run this by you because a question for all
women heading into the office right now, I'm reading a story. Okay,
who is more likely to help you advance in your career?
Men or women? And if you said women, you'd be right.

(00:20):
A survey found seventy three percent of women who mentored
colleagues helped other women will only thirty percent of men
did that.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Here's what I would say to that is, I've so
rarely had a female manager in this business that it's
hard to make an educated guest. I mean I have
had one female boss. She was fantastic, But the men
helped me bring me along only because there were so
many more.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
Of them, right right, So I got you.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
Do you have any did you even work for any women? Here? Kristin?

Speaker 1 (00:50):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (00:50):
Oh yeah, at the old station I was at. Yeah,
that's an interesting take. I feel like it's been balanced
for me.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
Me too, Yeah, me too. I mean it says thirty
percent of men, it says again, A survey found seventy
three percent of women who mentored colleagues helped other women.
Only thirty percent of men death.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
So men aren't helping the women. Men are helping the
other men, or or men not helping anybody, right, anybody.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
I was just thinking about help around the office too,
Like I get help from everybody, you know, like Kristin,
our buddy Trevor will help us with something, You'll help
me with something, as far as like just every day.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
I always thinking managers, you know how sometimes they kind
of groom you. They want to be like, oh, why
don't you learn this system because that would be useful
for you, or why don't you do a little bit
of this because that might help you get further along, right, right?

Speaker 3 (01:38):
And I think that's the that's the case here, right
because if you think about it, it's always competition. Right.
If there's that one position that somebody's going for, I'm
not going to help you because I want it, you know.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
Or when you're training somebody, you don't want them to
know all the secret.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
That's very true.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
I want to be needed for something
