Speaker 1 (00:00):
Lots of people chime it in on this, and I
think I might be winning. I'm just saying one of
six point seven night of fmcvey Christine producer Kristen we
told a story about what fifteen minutes ago, about something
kind of that happened to you and a friend of yours.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
Yes, so yeah, my friend Out'm my friend Tony. Tony Okay,
so Tony. His wife was making cupcakes for the class.
It was like, you know, towards the evening, everybody's tired.
She put all the icing on the cupcakes. She took
the can of icing and stuck it in the trash.

(00:33):
He was like, no, no, no, because he wanted to
do the you know, dip his finger in and get
the last of it. But because she put it in
the trash and it was straight up and she had
just placed it there, he went ahead and did it anyway.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
No problem with that at all.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Grossed her out, Yeah, that it had actually turned into
a thing between them.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
And you think it's gross too, Christine, I think it's gross,
And Kristin, you think it's gross. Yes. Again, it was
on the top of the trash, but it was inside
the container still, it was only on there for maybe
what a minute or.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
Two and open container.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
Yeah, but it wasn't like you were eating chocolate off
paper in the trash and it's scraped off or anything.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
Like that in the trash cubby.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
It was, but it was at the top of the
trash too. It wasn't at the bottom all day long.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
This sounds like Tony's house, not a problem. So we
said four four, three, six three. What do you think, Kristen,
you like five one six.

Speaker 3 (01:20):
No, you can read it.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
Hey, women lighting up, Absolutely nothing wrong with what he did.
If your cell phone fell in the toilet, would you
take it out or just get a new one?

Speaker 1 (01:31):
Huh? All right, you're talking toilet now.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
No, we're talking cell phone versus a scoop of icing and.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
A container on top of the trash.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
Okay, I'm going to have to deal with and rescue
my cell phone. I'm sorry, that's an investment.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
Right there.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
I kind of stopped with a hey women lighting up.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
Yeah, I stopped right there. So I don't know if
they're trying to be funny or oh yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
No, I don't think it's I think we're lighthearted. I
guess parted topic. Honestly, I'll fight nine seven three five
second rule. Agree with cubby?

Speaker 1 (02:05):
Thank you what.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
Nine seven three Again, I couldn't agree more with Cubby.
And I'm a woman who likes to keep everything clean.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
Andtay, thank you, my dear, thank you.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
Another Jersey loves you nine seven three. Not worth a fight?
Let him eat it?

Speaker 1 (02:17):
Thank you?

Speaker 2 (02:21):
Let's yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
I just shocked that you, Kristen, Like, I don't know
why I thought you'd be cool with it. Why cause
I have kids?

Speaker 3 (02:27):
Yeah, no, don't eat out of the trash. Please don't
eat out of the trash.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
But when you say it that way, that sounds gross.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
But that's what you're doing.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
You're not really doing it, yesh, you are. It's a
container on top again inside the container that what part
of that chocolate touched trash?

Speaker 3 (02:43):
It doesn't have to touch it. There are germs.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
Germs fly in the air, they leap right now.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
There's germs in the air. Sure, okay, you're drinking that coffee.
I sure am. It's on the trash, but there's germs
everywhere there.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
Are you going to like expose yourself to more and
like maybe possibly gross? Ones to you? A one says
it's fine if it's contained and hasn't been enclosed in
the garbage cuppy is right? It wasn't really contained. The
cover was off to another two to one. If there
was a cover on the can, yes, no cover, absolutely not,
that's what we're saying. There was wasn't even a.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
Cover, right, But again it went on there long. It
wasn't in the trash at the bottom for nine hours.
It was oh my gosh, and he grabbed it and
finished it.

Speaker 3 (03:22):
Are you that in need of a little piece of
chocolate that you need to go in the trash? Like
I don't understand, Like how hung you are? You go
in the cabinet?

Speaker 1 (03:31):
Just let it go? The answer is yes. There's something
about that last scrape on your finger, you know, like
doing the like doing the bowl when your mom was
making cake as a kid. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
What you're going for. And I know like he was
probably looking forward to that moment. But it's okay, we'll
make cupcakes again. It's okay. Nine one seven says cell
phone and toilet disinfect icing or eating out of the trash.
Ew mm hmmm.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
Well I'm gonna call that person when we do this break.
What's that phone number?

Speaker 2 (04:03):
Floor Cubby and Christine in the morning, just ahead on
one O six point seven light at them

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
