Republicans passed out of the House funds the government at

its current level, with a couple of minor changes. Maybe
it does indeed include a little bit more spending for
the Pentagon, but it also includes a few more spending
cuts Beyond that, though it is largely the same, and
that's why it's called a CR. And Democrats have been
posturing and planning and announcing nope, nope, nope, nope, they

don't have the votes. Chuck Schumer just literally a day
ago said the Republicans don't have the votes to clear
the way for that sire to fund the government through September.

They can't do it, and they won't do it. And
then suddenly.

Late yesterday Chuck Schumer changed his tune and said he's
going to vote for it.

It's really bizarre.

It's in somehow, some way he's blaming President Trump for
his own blink, his own surrender. He looked at the
situation decided it was not a tenable situation and not
a winning message for him and his party, and his
caucus said okay, well I'm going to vote for it,
and it's Trump's fault, which is really kind of odd.

So the grand standing on Wednesday sure looked.

Like a bluff. It sounded like a bluff.

President Trump called it a bluff, and on Thursday, Chuck
Schumer proved, yeah, it was pretty much a bluff.

However, this is Chuck Schumer.

This is not necessarily the full Democrat caucus in the Senate.
His entire party is not necessarily going to automatically vote
for this just because he said he would. Now he
doesn't need the entire President Trump, that is, doesn't need
the entire party to vote for this. He needs just
well seven Democrats. So that's a good thing. And it

looks like Fetterman is going to be one of them.
Now Schumer is too. He's going to need five more.
So it's very likely that there will be a handful
of more that follow Schumer's lead. But the Democrats are
starting to splinter a little bit. And this is something
that Republicans better take note of because it doesn't happen often.
The one thing that the Democrats can be given it

for is their steadfast loyalty, marching in lockstep, almost in
goose step with one another sometimes, but lockstep and not
you know not, I don't a phrase. It not causing
any waves, Let's put it that way, because they know
ifs soon as one of them starts to buckle, they
will get cast out of the party. They will be destroyed.

They really really believe in uniformity. They do not believe
in individual ideas. So the odds are very very good
here that they will indeed follow in line or follow
in line with their leaders. But this is a really
really interesting situation. The vote should happen today and we
could be heading off that long expected shutdown because they
were posturing for quite some time.

More than Elon Musk. We should not give it to them,
and make no mistake, Donald Democrats will continue to fight
what Donald Trump is doing. Everything that Trump, Musk and
Republicans have done so far has a clear goal again,

Again, they repeat the same talking points that have failed
them over and over and over again in elections. In
public polling, nobody believes that Republicans are trying to a

seized the lobby, the inside lobby of Trump Tower in
New York City to protest the detainment and the potential
deportation of a Columbia University graduate who helped lead pro
Palestinian protests on the Columbia campus, putting Jewish students in

very precarious situations, making them afraid to come out of
their dorm rooms and walk across campus, which of course
is why this is a problem. The detainee, Machmoud Khalil,
was taken into custody over the weekend last weekend by
federal agents and is now in a holding facility in
Louisiana awaiting hearing. The Trump administration wants to deport him

despite him having a green card, which has sparked some protest,
including what happened to Tronptwer yesterday. The protesters inside the
tower were seen holding signs that read free Mockmood, Free Palestine,
and fight Nazis, not students, which is really interesting. Jade
Vance sat down with lor Ingram last night to explain,
just because you have a green card, it does not

make you undeportable, doesn't give you the right to stay
here forever.

and to me, yes, it's about national security, but it's

also more importantly about who do we, as an American
public decide gets to join our national community.

And we do get the right to make that decision.

determination this guy needs to be deported and there's a
good reason for that.

and if you tell us when you apply for your visa,

down your universities. If you told us all these things
when you applied for a visa, we would deny your visa.

shop owner stands his ground shooting a person who broke
into their shop earlier this morning. The business owner is
cooperating with police. The bad guy is hospitalized but expected
to survive. This as research shows that concealed carriers actually
stop more active shooters than police do.

The study from the Crime Prevention Research Center found that
concealed carry permit holders stopped fifty one and a half
percent of active shootings, compared to forty four and a
half percent by police.

We wanted to try to get a measure of how

John Lott, president of the CPRC, says attackers can't locate
concealed carriers as easily.

and see what the actual record.

That permit holders actually stop these active shooting attacks about
fifty two percent, of the time compared to about forty five.
Percent for police and a lot, OF the differences i
think stem from the fact that the police are in uniform.

And readily identifiable so if you're one of these attackers
that's out there to try to go, and kill people
and you see a police officer, in the vicinity, you're
gonna wait maybe until the, police officer leaves or you'll
move to, a different target or if you're going to,
take out someone you're going to take out the. Police

officer first and what that means is that it's less
likely the police officer is going, to be nearby and
so it takes, longer for them on average to arrive
on the scene than it does for a concealed, carry
permit holder where the attacker doesn't know if somebody is
going to be around there or not until they actually start.
Doing the attack it also helps explain why police officers
(01:42:29):
are much more likely to end up being killed in
these situations than a concealed. Carry permit holder of the
one hundred and fifty times that police officers, stopped these
attacks twenty seven police officers were, actually killed there compared
(01:42:49):
to only two of the concealed carry permit holders who
were killed in when they were trying to, stop these
attacks and police were much more like. Dead being, wounded
so police at least, those in uniform have a much
more difficult job and we should thank them for the risks,

that they take but they have a much more difficult
job precisely because they're. So, easily identifiable yeah no.
