Speaker 1 (00:01):
You know, the Navy doesn't get as much love as
the Army does, at least on our show. So and
I don't know why that is. My dad served in
the Navy during World War Two. My son Brian served
in the Navy, so you know, give a little love
to the Navy. The Navy comes out of the Department
of Defense, and Pete haig Seth is President Trump's nominee
for Secretary of Defense. Doctor Robert Armstrong joints his RNC
(00:24):
committee man. Pete seems to be one of the more
quote unquote controversial picks, not because I think he's controversial,
but because that's what the left thinks, that he's somehow
not qualified to do the job, as too many skeletons
in his closet, blah blah blah blah blah. What do
you think about Pete haig Seth as Defense Secretary and
do you think he will be confirmed?
Speaker 2 (00:46):
I think that Pete hegg Seth is that do will
make a great Defense Secretary, and I think he's gonna
be confirmed because I believe that people have gone home,
Some of those senators have gone home for the Christmas break,
and they've heard from their own constituent, including some of
the Democrats, and their constituents are telling them that they
want Trump to have the cabinet that he wants. I
(01:06):
believe that Pete hex That's going to be a great
Defense secretary because it's going to be a reformer. He's
done a lot of interviews, He's talked about this a lot.
He's someone who has actually fought in the military, and
he's been a boots on the ground guy, and he's
going to support our troops. And that's what we need.
A Defense secretary who is wholeheartedly sold out to supporting
our troops. And that's what he's going to do. He's
(01:27):
going to reform that Defense Department. And I'll tell you,
the bureaucrats do not want that. These woke generals do
not want that. But I'm looking forward to having him
as Defense secretary. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
It's amazing to me that we have so many woke generals.
I just don't know how that happened. How did we
end up with a bunch of generals who are who
were trained in DEI and all this other stuff. I
thought the military was trained to fight and to protect
the country.
Speaker 2 (01:53):
You know. I love what Russell Inball used to say,
you know, the military is there to kill people and
break things, and and we only use them when it's
absolutely necessary. But if you're not training them to do
those two things, then you're not you're not bringing up
a good military. I'll tell you that these generals are
just a product of the long term education system in
(02:15):
the United States and then just the product of an administration,
certainly the Biden administration, even many years before that. You know,
these these these administrations who have just valued the wrong
things in this country. They valued this, this multiculturalism, they
valued you know, defen DEI training, They've they've valued all
(02:39):
these things that have nothing to do with with what
the military is there for. And and and I believe
that that is what they're threatened about, Jimmy, I really
believe that they're threatened that Pete hexeth Is is not
that kind of guy. He's the kind of guy that's
going to fire these generals because they need to be fired. Uh,
we need to remake our military. It needs to be
one that is that is mean and leant a fighting
(03:03):
machine that's going to take care of business, fight wars,
win wars, in wars, you know, avoid wars when possible.
But but but be there to defend the American people
in our interest and that's the only thing that they're
there for.
Speaker 1 (03:17):
Yeah, and that part of the job seems relatively simple
Compareddike it guess to some of the bigger problems you're
gonna have at the Pentagon, which is just you know,
reforming you know, the spending habits and their inability to
work within a budget and and even know what they're
spending money on. How do you get a handle on that?
Speaker 2 (03:35):
Well, I think that it's going to be you know,
I think Elon Musk and if I vec Raamaswami are
going to be very helpful with that with their Doge department.
Uh and and I believe they're going to have some input. Certainly,
President Trump is one to you know, not be He's
not He's not one that wants to go out and
fight wars. And that's one of the reasons why he's elected.
He's he's he's a Republican that's going to end wars.
(03:58):
Use our economic might, use our our negotiating ability to
end wars. But I believe that that it's going to
be very very That's one of the most important parts
of it. As well. The waste and inefficiency is also
a part of the Pentagon has been that way for
a long time. You hear about them paying thousands of
dollars for toilet seats, and so I think that that's
(04:18):
going to change. And we're looking forward to having a
new administration and new Defense Secretary.
Speaker 1 (04:23):
Doug Collins Secretary Veteran Affairs. He will be up in
the confirmation process starting today, as will Doug Bergram, Secretary
of the Interior. I don't think there's gonna be a
problem with those two, do you, No, I don't.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
Collins is a as a former congressman from Georgia. He's
a very conservative guy, so they don't like him. But
I think he's going to get through easily. And Doug
Bergham's I'm going to be Energy Secretary. I think they're
gonna do on a Secretary Interior. I think they're going
to do a great job. I think it's gonna be easy,
easily get them through. But I think that Pete hex
is going to be the controversial one today according to
(04:55):
the media, But I think it's going to be fine, all.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
Right, sir. Always a pleasure, Thank you, Doctor Robert Armstrong
