it's Thursday morning.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
It is Thursday morning. It's funny how you lose a
day when you don't go to.
Speaker 3 (00:24):
Bed at all.
Speaker 4 (00:25):
I think I lost the election today. I think it's
all gone from our anyway. Here are some of our
top stories on Houston's Morning News. Kama Word salads her
way through a concession reaction to the Trump mandate and
coming up at five oh eight, I've got an idea.
I think progressives need an emotional support animal. Details in
the minutes ahead. You're in Houston's Morning News. First, let's
(00:46):
check out that morning drive. Here is skymye. Allright, we had.
Speaker 5 (00:49):
Something on the North Freeway that is now clear around
the loof. It's all over, but the crying southbound. We're
in good shape. Although here's the deal. I gotta turn
everybody snooze off this morning because we got.
Speaker 4 (00:59):
Wet free ways.
Speaker 5 (01:00):
I even saw fog, and I know if I saw
it around the ghetto house, I know we've got to
have it around the north side, northwest side, probably all
around Angleton. We'll check Zzoria County and see what the
fog is like and check your right at five ten
in the Generator Supercenter dot Com traffic Center.
Speaker 4 (01:16):
From r KTRH top tax Defenders, twenty four hour weather
center for today. Clouds early, partly cloudie this afternoon. High
temperature today right about eighty six. We'll talk to Terry,
get the latest on Raphael and the forecast run here
for the next few days. When we talked to her
in about nine minutes. Right now, temperature is seventy six
at your official severe weather station, News Radio seven forty
(01:38):
k TRH. It is time now for the news. Here's
Sheriff Fryer.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
Good morning everyone at is now five poht one on
news radio seven forty k TRH and our top story
this hour.
Speaker 6 (01:49):
While I conceive this election, I do not concede the
fight that fueled this campaign.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
Well, it took almost all day for Kamala Harris to
finally do it. But as she did conceding the election
to Donald Trump, that was speaking to supporters at Howard University,
she also did finally call President elect President Trump to
congratulate him on his victory. The electoral college victory gets
even larger this morning, as Trump now projected to flip Arizona,
(02:21):
giving him more than three hundred electoral College votes. He
also has a fifty thousand vote lead in Nevada. In
other words, this was a landslide and a mandate.
Speaker 7 (02:34):
The American people's voice came through. In spite of all
that has been thrown at us, the propaganda, the law
fair two assassination attempts, the American people's voices were heard.
Speaker 4 (02:47):
There's a mandate.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
Former Democrat congresswoman turned Republican Tulca Gabbard on Fox, So
who will be the new administration? Loyalty is maybe one
of the biggest factors in Trump's transition.
Speaker 8 (03:02):
He had some loyal members the first time, but some
weren't and that was a lesson to learn.
Speaker 9 (03:07):
Because Donald Trump had not been involved in politics before,
he really didn't have a long term political team.
Speaker 10 (03:13):
There were a.
Speaker 9 (03:14):
Divergent group of people from different camps.
Speaker 8 (03:17):
Former Trump White House advisor Steve Ministeri says Trump has
now had more time to tighten his circle and the
appointees will tell a lot about what he's learned.
Speaker 9 (03:25):
But I think you're going to see a lot of
business types, and you'll probably see some folks at held
elective office.
Speaker 8 (03:31):
He says, that includes potentially Texas A G. Ken Paxton
becoming the US Attorney General, Andre Pararden, who's radio seven
forty KTRH.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
And we could be certain that our allies and enemies
are watching this transition too.
Speaker 11 (03:45):
You've got a situation where a lot of countries are
going to be on hole to wait to see what happens.
They're going to want to see what personnel is brought
into the administration. Batt'll dictate policy obviously, and where the
administration will go.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
As national security expert Harry Casianis, he says Trump will
probably resolve the war between Russia and Ukraine and then
slap sanctions on Iran as some of his first duties.
It's now five oh four. Trump will have a Republican
controlled Senate. We know this after the GOP flipped seats
in Ohio, West Virginia, and Montana. Now that of Senate
(04:18):
race between Republican Sam Brown incumbent Democrat Jackie Rosen, though
still too close to call. Control of the US House
still in the air. Republicans are leading right now with
two hundred eleven seats to two hundred and three.
Speaker 12 (04:32):
We felt really good tonight about where we sit with
those California seats.
Speaker 4 (04:35):
We're still waiting.
Speaker 12 (04:36):
They've got to cure ballots and finish all their process.
But look, I think we are going to grow the majority.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
House Speaker Mike Johnson. It is now five oh five.
Well here at home, at least ten Republican judges have
won their races over soft on crime Democrats who went wave,
making the DA's race closer than Sean Tier.
Speaker 3 (04:56):
The new DA would have liked.
Speaker 13 (05:00):
Community is tired of the partisanship fights. I think they're
ready to unify behind the leader.
Speaker 2 (05:07):
Harris County DA Tier with our TV partner, Channel two,
he beat Republican Dan Simons by twenty three thousand votes.
Speaker 3 (05:16):
It was pretty close.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
In Fort ben Sheriff Eric Fagan has one re election,
defeating Marshall Slot by less than five hundred votes. It
is now five oh five. Stock futures are up across
the board this morning. After Ay. They soared on Wall
Street Yesterday, The now gained fifteen hundred points, closing at
a new record high. Bitcoin closed at a new high
(05:39):
yesterday as well, so now we look to the Federal
Reserve as it makes another move on interest rates expected today.
Speaker 14 (05:48):
The smart Money says it'll be the second interest rate
cut this year.
Speaker 9 (05:51):
I think we're going to see yet another rate cut,
and I'm increasingly confident that it has nothing to do
with either inflation or the labor market.
Speaker 14 (05:59):
The Heritage Foundation E J. Antony says it's about saving
the banks.
Speaker 9 (06:02):
A lot of financial institutions on the wrong side of
the interest rate trade and that's causing tremendous losses within
the financial system.
Speaker 14 (06:10):
He also says Donald Trump will allow chairman JR. Own
Pwell to finish his term, but won't nominate him for
another one. Cliff Saunders News Radio seven forty k TRH.
Speaker 2 (06:19):
High interest rates inability to get financing scares off many
potential home buyers right now. Real estate agent here in Houston, though,
Kenya Burrell Van Warmer says what the Fed does and
what actually applies to the bankers and the financial interest
for them as compared to main street, well, those are
(06:41):
two very different things.
Speaker 15 (06:43):
There's no guarantee that rates will decrease significantly. Home prices
may and probably will continue to rise. And then if
you look at the long term and short term benefits
of home ownership. You're building equity versus paying rent.
Speaker 16 (06:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
FED did cut rates back in September, remember, but mortgage
rates just kept going up currently six point five to
nine percent nationwide for the most part, that's average. Five
oh seven is our time Houston City Council to trying
to work out Mayor John Whitmyer's new plan to deal
with our homeless situation.
Speaker 4 (07:17):
Shara.
Speaker 17 (07:18):
It's a brand new city sponsored homeless encampment.
Speaker 18 (07:22):
Looks like taxpayers will be paying for It's to an
area that's not necessarily as public or in the way
as some of the other places they're at.
Speaker 17 (07:29):
That is Charles Blaine, President of Urban Reform here in Houston.
Speaker 18 (07:34):
I think if you ask a lot of people, that'd
argue that they approach that we've been on hasn't really worked,
and so people might be ready for a different approach.
Speaker 17 (07:40):
We still don't have all the details, but what we
do know is the Democrat's plan from Washington does not work.
Jeff Biggs, News Radio seven forty kt H.
Speaker 2 (07:52):
Is five oh seven. Hurricane Rafael in the Gulf of Mexico,
Cat two storm. Now after landfall on Cuba is a
cat three more with Terry Smith the Weather Channel. In
just a few minutes here the Rockets beat the Spurs
one twenty seven to one hundred. They'll visit Oklahoma City tomorrow.
I'm shepber Fryer on news radio seven forty KTRH.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
Stay in touch on your drive in with Jimmy Arrett
and Sheriff Fryar.
Speaker 4 (08:17):
This is Houston's Morning News. I would like to be
a magnanimous winner. Therefore, I would like to extend an
olive branch. This morning, five nine is our time here
in Houston's Morning News, and I'm inspired by an editorial
I saw this morning in USA Today. Their health and
wellness columnist is like most of the people who work
(08:37):
for USA USA Today progressive. Here's the headline. He wrote,
the surprising way I'm surviving Election day puppies, lots of puppies.
It goes on to say how stressed out he is
from the election. And now the bosses at USA Today,
sensing that they were all stressed out, invited six poodle
(08:58):
puppies from wolf Trap Animal Rest Thanks Cue to USA
Today so that the newsroom could play with the puppies
and de stress from the election, and I thought to myself,
you know, that's exactly what progressives need, emotional support animals.
This is actually a good idea. So, in an effort
(09:21):
to be part of the solution instead of part of
the problem, I would like to offer up the suggestion
that we begin something I'll call Doggies for Democrats, where
we get cute little puppies and rescue animals that need
a good home, and we give them to Democrats so
that they have something they can focus on other than
(09:42):
the emotional rot that Donald Trump is obviously bringing them.
They can worry about taking care of the puppy. Donald
Trump will take care of the country. You just worry
about taking care of that puppy.
Speaker 3 (09:54):
I see all kinds of problems with this.
Speaker 4 (09:58):
It's not perfect.
Speaker 3 (09:59):
ID You're what if.
Speaker 2 (10:01):
Your little rescue dog is somewhat neurotic. I mean, dogs
get frightened by thunderstorms. You're familiar with that, Yes, of course,
would you really want some neurotic taking care of a
neurotic dog.
Speaker 4 (10:12):
Well, they probably are better equipped to take care of
a fellow neurotic.
Speaker 3 (10:15):
Then most all go hide together.
Speaker 4 (10:17):
They can go they can all go to the vet
and get a prescription, an anti anxiety prescription for the
both of them. They can share their anti anxiety medications. There. See,
we already solved one problem. Five eleven time for traffic
and weather together.
Speaker 5 (10:29):
I spent thirty minutes yesterday trying to explain to a
liberal how you know when the economy.
Speaker 4 (10:34):
Is good, that's a good thing, you know.
Speaker 5 (10:36):
And I just I just want to invite all the
patriots out there, stop wasting time arguing with these people.
Speaker 4 (10:41):
Just give him a puppy, Give him a puppy and.
Speaker 5 (10:43):
Say, yo, mama, let's go to the golf Freeway. They're
showing me this shot here of the golf at Howard,
which is the same cross street as Belford, and boy,
that's a pretty shot. This morning, we did have a
stall on the North Freeway Cavalcade. No, he's still there,
he's on the exit ramp. And also, you know, if
you're coming down the North Freeway, the Cavalcade exit ramp
also shares the exit with Patton Street, which is where
(11:05):
that nice truck stop is. So if you're going that way,
just watch out. It's really dark there. They've done a
poor job of lighting that area. North Freeway. Otherwise twenty
two minutes from Rayford from Sawdust down into downtown. That
number is going to get a little bigger. We have
wet freeway, so I got to turn off the snooze.
Speaker 4 (11:21):
Terry. Also, I'm hearing about fog.
Speaker 5 (11:24):
I'm guessing people will be telling you all about that
in a few minutes on our tip line seven one
three two one two tips. I'm skylike here in the
bottles of the Generator Supercenter, dot Com Traffic Center Brobo.
Speaker 4 (11:34):
R Katirah Top tax Defenders twenty four, our weather Center.
Terry Smith is here, and let's start with Rafael, who
looks like maybe it's just going to meander around the
golf for a while because there's too many forces working
against it coming to the US.
Speaker 19 (11:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 20 (11:49):
So, Raphael is a hurricane one hundred and five mile
an hour winds made its way across Cuba. It's just
north of the western tip of Cuba in the Gulf
of Mexico. And like we talked about yesterday, there's this
coal front that's going to be making its way into
the Southern States, and that's going to act something like
a barrier to Rafael making much northward progress. It's actually
(12:12):
going to exert some influence and keep it well to
the south. So, as you mentioned, it will remain out
in the Gulf of Mexico through the weekend at this point,
and the longer it stays out there, eventually it encounters
some sheer, some drier air as well.
Speaker 3 (12:28):
That's going to weaken it.
Speaker 20 (12:29):
So by Monday, I expect we'll be just looking at
a tropical storm if that, so we'll continue to keep
track of it in case it does.
Speaker 3 (12:37):
Have some impact on the United States, but.
Speaker 20 (12:39):
Right now those chances are looking pretty slim for us.
We are dealing with some clouds, some fog, even a
few showers this morning. We do have a thirty percent
chance of seeing some rain early in the day and
then dry low to mid eighties today, thirty percent chance
of more thunder showers tomorrow, a forty percent chance of
rain sat with that call front that's helping to keep
(13:03):
raphae al away, and a thirty percent chance of war
rate on Sunday.
Speaker 4 (13:07):
Jep At you're right now, seventy five at your officials
severe weather station. Pardon me, News Radio seven forty k TRH.
Speaker 1 (13:14):
It's Houston's Morning News, brought to you by New South
Windows Solutions. Now back to Jimmy and Shara with the
info you need to take on the day.
Speaker 4 (13:23):
Okay, Democrats kniting puppies, We've got a few this morning.
Jen Sucky on MSNBC reacting to the Trump victory. She
needs a puppy in the worst kind of way. We'll
share that with you. Coming up next first though, at
five twenty Plaffic and weather together as we check out
the drive once again. Here's sky Minkee.
Speaker 5 (13:40):
All right, let's check your south side here as a
golf freeway. I've stook got the shot at Belfort for
some reason. I think they had some kind of minor
skip up there.
Speaker 4 (13:47):
It's gone.
Speaker 5 (13:48):
We look great from Texas City up clear Lake now
twenty one minutes up in the downtown two eighty eight.
Speaker 4 (13:53):
It's a little wet.
Speaker 5 (13:54):

coming up pastorro Sharon, but otherwise we're good to go.

Speaker 2 (14:34):
Everyone is now five twenty two on news Radio seven

who has been killed in a late night warehouse fire
on the East End at Polk Street. Elon musk networs
it rose by billions yesterday with a Trump rally on
Wall Street. Three Texas cities, including Dallas, approved decriminalizing marijuana

You're reliable forecast Next on the ten on seven KTRH.
Speaker 4 (15:15):
All right, Jen Saki is hurting. We need to get
her a puppy. We need to understand we need to sympathize.
We need to empathize.
Speaker 3 (15:23):
I have a better idea. What's that give them all
pet squirrels.
Speaker 4 (15:27):
Yes, in memory of Peanut. That would be the perfect
thing to do. First, though, let's see how heartbroken Jensaki
is on MSNBC.
Speaker 21 (15:37):
For so many of you watching right now, that news is,
to say the least.
Speaker 4 (15:42):
A lot to digest.
Speaker 21 (15:44):
I understand that personally. After college years ago, he refused
to accept the outcome and incited a violent insurrection on
our nation's capital. His campaigns and criminal indictments related to
his efforts to overturn the twenty twenty year results, and
he's run as a convicted felon. During this campaign, he
has also promised to essentially be an authoritarian leader, to
(16:07):
use power like no American president ever has before, and
wield that power to go after his political enemies. This
is a man who's also bragged about overturning Roby Wade
and stripping away women's bodily autonomy. He's promised to conduct
mass deportations to crack down on the rights of millions
of Americans.
Speaker 3 (16:27):
Donald Trump is an.
Speaker 21 (16:28):
Anti democratic force, but he's just been elected democratically.
Speaker 3 (16:33):
In our country.
Speaker 21 (16:34):
Donald Trump was elected by expanding his support over a
number of key groups. There will be a lot of
time spent on how and why he won and what
this will mean for the country over the next four
years and beyond. I wish I had better news for
my daughter later this morning. I know Tim Miller and
I were talking about this earlier. When she and so
many others wake.
Speaker 1 (16:55):
Up to this news, I wish I could.
Speaker 21 (16:57):
Have called her and told her that the first woman
president had just been elected.
Speaker 5 (17:01):
I wish that I won't be able to do that.
Speaker 21 (17:04):
What I can do, what I can tell my daughter,
and what I will tell my daughter is that our
roles as American citizens have never been more important than
they are right now.
Speaker 22 (17:13):
Oh my god.
Speaker 23 (17:14):
And this is something the media missed about Trump's campaign
all along. In many ways, he was the moderate candidate,
now masked by the way he talks and acts and
things he says at the rally. But on abortion, what's
the moderate position that we should have it all the
way through nine months and make Catholic hospitals do it?
Her position or his position. Let the states decide, And
actually I think some of the states have gone too far. Obviously,
(17:35):
his more moderate on trance. Who has the more moderate position, right,
he just opposes this stuff the way seventy percent of
the country does. Even on immigration, you wouldn't say mass
deportations is a moderate position. But the Public Center's moves
so right, and that on that reaction to what's happened,
they think that's more reasonable than just letting in millions
(17:56):
of people unchecked because you've let this flood happen at Southern.
Speaker 4 (18:00):
That is the National reviews Rich Lowry, by the way,
reacting to that, the part, the sad part. The sad
part to me is bringing up her daughter. I have
to now want I have to explain that.
Speaker 2 (18:15):
We had good friends tell me that they were in tears. Yeah, grandmothers.
They can't tell my granddaughter.
Speaker 4 (18:21):
But by the way, Jensaki's daughters ate, all right. This
is this is how you rage or raise emotionally disturbed
children is by subjecting them to things like that.
Speaker 2 (18:32):
You have an emotionally disturbed country, you know. And the
more we focus on these people continuing their death spiral
talk instead of moving forward and correcting what is wrong
and taking us into the future brilliantly with hope, enjoy.
That is what Donald Trump is doing.
Speaker 4 (18:49):
Yeah, and that's what we'll do since we're done making
friend of these time.
Speaker 3 (18:52):
I'm just tired of having to pay attention to these people.
Speaker 4 (18:55):
Have I'm not tired of yet. I'm just I'm having
I'm having too much fun.
Speaker 2 (18:59):
Don't have time for that. I just want to move forward.
What are we going to do next? What are we
going to do to make things better?
Speaker 4 (19:03):
Well, we'll do that tomorrow. Today I'm gonna have fun. Today,
I'm going to ridicule.
Speaker 2 (19:07):
I'm in that the hell with that mode right down,
the hell with all of them. I mean, go on,
do your crying. But I don't have to really.
Speaker 3 (19:15):
Listen to it anyway, I don't have to listen to it.
Speaker 4 (19:18):
Five twenty seven, Jeff Bellinger, are you in this morning
doing our Bloomberg Market Minute? I am.
Speaker 24 (19:25):

were from the left or the right. Donald Trump's selection

the Nasdaq, S and P five hundred are all at
record highs, investors will likely have something else to celebrate today.
Economists expect the Federal Reserve to announce a quarter point
interest rate cut when they're two day policy meeting ends

One of our heroes.
Speaker 25 (21:53):
Has been taken from us S.

Speaker 2 (21:58):
A Houston firefighter identi as Marcelo Garcia has died fighting

last night. At least one other firefighter injured expected to recover. However,
Garcia had been with HFD for ten years and was
forty two years old.
Speaker 3 (22:14):
Also topping our news.
Speaker 26 (22:16):
The Republican Party now reflects the country.
Speaker 27 (22:19):
It is the most diverse coalition of voters ever to
come together to elect someone to the White House.
Speaker 2 (22:25):
Florida Senator Marco Rubio with KTRH Sean Hannity. Now Donald
Trump's victory Tuesday night is growing. He's projected to flip Arizona.
Now has a fifty thousand vote lead in Nevada, on
top of the twenty nine other states he has already won.
Kamala Harris finally conceded after waiting sixteen hours, and when
she did, she took a veiled shot at Trump and
(22:47):
his supporters.
Speaker 28 (22:49):
In our nation, we owe loyalty not to a president
or a party, but to the Constitution of the United.
Speaker 2 (22:58):
States and to the American People Harris at Howard University yesterday.
Republicans confident about retaining control of the House, having won
two hundred eleven races, twenty three still undecided. The GOP
has already well won the Senate and may even gather
more seats. It is now five point thirty three here
(23:20):
at home, Texas. Republicans flipped several South Texas counties this week,
including the legendary Star County, which hasn't elected a Republican
since eighteen ninety six. SMUs cal Jilson says it's the
failed Biden Harris economy that did it.
Speaker 29 (23:38):
The argument that Democrats were a threat to the advances
that that Hispanics had made.
Speaker 3 (23:47):
That's it.
Speaker 2 (23:47):
Hidalgo County, which Joe Biden won with fifty eight percent
of the vote in twenty twenty, went big time for
Trump Tuesday, as did Cameron. As I said, Star, Sapada, Webb, Maverick,
Kenney and Valvere Counties Trump up and down the ballot.
We find Republicans here succeeding where the party has failed
in the past. And it happened because of turnout.
Speaker 30 (24:13):
This was a high turnout election, with nearly one hundred
and forty million Americans.
Speaker 19 (24:17):
Voting yesterday for a variety of everythings. Became an election
that was meaningful and purposeful, and people voted because they cared.
Speaker 30 (24:25):
Political consultant Bill Miller told KTRH voters in Texas showed
up big for both Donald Trump and Ted Cruz.
Speaker 19 (24:31):
Bruce Blew already right off the table. You've got South
Texas turning more Republican than ever before historically.
Speaker 4 (24:39):
So Miller says.
Speaker 30 (24:40):
If this election told us anything, it's that Texas won't
be a swing state anytime soon. Ethan Buchanan News Radio

Speaker 2 (24:47):
And preliminary data is showing that eleven point three million
Texans voted in this election. There are eighteen million, though
on the voter rules. Mainstream media pollsters got it all wrong,
not even close to the close election they insisted it
would be. But Robert Kahaley's Trafalgar Group they were more
(25:07):
accurate than most.
Speaker 10 (25:10):
We feel good about where we are, and to basically
knock out the mainstream media groups again, it is so
frustrating they keep just referring them this so good. But
a lot of these guys haven't been good in a
long time.
Speaker 2 (25:22):
I haven't been good in a long time, having undercounted
Trumps support for the third straight presidential election. Yeah, that's
a long time. It is now five point thirty five.
The expected mainstream media meltdown over the Trump victory, Well, boy,
is it ever in full swing? If you can mix
the metaphors there.
Speaker 21 (25:42):
I'm worried about mass deportation and internment camps.
Speaker 2 (25:46):
We're going to lock us all up, Sunny Houstin on
the view, just one example of what we were having
to listen to yesterday. As for the coming months and years, you.
Speaker 31 (25:56):
Would think the media should do some soul searching. We
did see that for like a few days, maybe a
couple weeks after twenty sixteen, that before they very quickly
went back to their biased ways.
Speaker 2 (26:07):
Courtous howck, he doesn't give as much hope for the
Media Research Center, he told KTRH. Mainstream media really doesn't
care that their credibility has been shot. They've only been
talking to themselves for the longest time anyway.
Speaker 3 (26:20):
Five point thirty six.

Speaker 32 (26:49):
American Petroleum Institute CEO Mike Summer says the US shouldn't

Wall Street exploded with the Trump landslide now gaining fifteen

next year, the third straight year of significant increases, and
healthcare analyst David Belott says the system has gotten top

Speaker 3 (27:33):
Can Trump fix.
Speaker 33 (27:34):
That the primary stakeholders in healthcare are medical professional and

to get in between those two and extract the value
and have to drive up the price in order to
extract more and more value on a year over your basis.
Speaker 2 (27:50):
Other factors in the rising costs fewer healthcare workers and
fewer hospitals, they've all consolidated. You know, that's a bureaucratic
money saving thing to do. It is now five thirty eight.

How do y'all feel about gift cards? I like person
I like getting gift cards, especially ones that are fairly
generic in nature that you can use it a variety
of different places. You'll multi use gift cards. I don't
mind them. I know there's some people think they're impersonal
and wow, you really put a lot of thought into
that it got.
Speaker 2 (28:45):
So difficult to make sure that your package got packages
got where they needed to be. Yeah, you know is
a great ass shipping things across the country.
Speaker 3 (28:53):
Right, it just got better?
Speaker 4 (28:56):
He did?
Speaker 3 (28:57):
You know, just spending time with people, how do you
really know to give them something that's going to be meaningful?
Speaker 4 (29:02):
Exactly right? And even too. I mean, for example, the
last thing I would try to if you have grandchildren,
last thing I would try to do as a grandparent
is to buy a personal gift for a grandchild because
the chances of me connecting with them on what they
find interesting or stylish or whatever is to probably slim
and none so better giving them a gift card that
they could a cast sort of gift cards so they
(29:25):
can just go out and spend it as the as
they see fit. They would prefer that anyway. The reason
why I bring up gift cards is do you have
any gift cards around that you haven't used?
Speaker 3 (29:33):
Oh?
Speaker 21 (29:34):
Boy?
Speaker 3 (29:34):
Do people ever?
Speaker 4 (29:35):
Yeah? Well, here's here's something to think about. You know,
TGI Fridays has filed for bankruptcy and some of the
restaurants are probably going to end up shutting down, and
there's no way to know for sure how long the
company will last or if it will last. You know
that currently they have fifty million dollars in outstanding unused
(29:57):
gift cards for TGI Fridays million. Is that amazing or
what if you want to know? By the way, by
By restaurants in particular love to push the gift cards.
It's because of that. People get them and they forget
about them and they don't use them, and that's like
free money. So if you get a gift card, yep,
(30:17):
that's great, but make sure you use it. Okay, five
forty time for traffic and whether together.
Speaker 5 (30:22):
The specs have gift cards. Yes, okay, I'm just asking
for a friend. That would be the perfect gift that
would say it all right there, let's get put on
your heart a friend, right, yeah, just a friend once
to know. Let's go the hard work and east side.
Put your your hard hats on and as I click

Speaker 4 (30:38):
Me see if I can get a good shot of it.

And check from Baytown over to Laporte both ways, Let's

Let's go from laport this way.

Speaker 9 (31:12):

I think we'll get a break in the clouds by

late morning, maybe even even into the afternoon.
Speaker 3 (32:06):
And you might get a few rain drops on top
of all of that.
Speaker 20 (32:08):
But it's only a thirty percent chance of any sort
of rain today. Temperatures, it's going to be warm. Load
of mid eighties tomorrow at thirty percent, chance of thunderstorms

Speaker 4 (34:27):
Next on the ten. Well, fight's over for now. Five
to fifty three is our time here in Houston's morning news.
We had a really amazing election. You have Donald Trump
getting what have you seen a final total? I guess
there is no final total just yet. But the last
time I saw, wouldn't you get about seventy six million votes?
And I think he had about four and a half
(34:49):
or five million more than common.
Speaker 2 (34:50):
We were saying, yeah, he uh what we had yesterday?
He's up to six million dollars six million difference.
Speaker 4 (34:58):
No difference between the two between the two right now,
which will probably tighten a little bit, Casey.
Speaker 2 (35:02):
You add it all together, is still twenty million short
of what it was supposedly four years.
Speaker 4 (35:08):
Ago, isn't that asa?
Speaker 2 (35:09):
And they keep saying that it was a record turnout,
So like, where are the missing twenty million votes?
Speaker 3 (35:15):
Where'd they go?
Speaker 4 (35:16):
I don't know. Let's ask Bill Miller, he's a political strategist.
I mean, as good as the turnout was, it wasn't
as good as twenty twenty.
Speaker 19 (35:22):
Well it was. The turnout was healthy, it was, you know,
an exciting electorate. They everyone was talking about this race.
They didn't didn't depend on which side you were on.
Everyone was excited about it. And truthfully, I think everybody
expected their team to win. So you go into the
race and then you have this outcome. There's some big
(35:45):
disappointment out there among Democrats.
Speaker 3 (35:48):
Well here it was cracky.
Speaker 2 (35:50):
Here in Texas, we had more than eleven million votes.
As far as we know, it is not official yet.
What eleven point six or something? We had eighteen million
on the voter rolls. So is that still considered great
or should there have been even more?
Speaker 5 (36:08):
Well?
Speaker 19 (36:08):
I think the argument is the more, the more, the
greater the vote, the better the healthier it is for
the system.
Speaker 4 (36:15):
I think that.
Speaker 19 (36:15):
Argument can always be made and will always be made.
The truth is that was a great turnout. It was
It was a turnout that you would want in every election.
People were interested in they voted. Does everyone always vote
no for a lot of different reasons, but you know,
the people who cared voted. I think that you know,
if you look at those numbers, those are people who cared,
(36:36):
and that's the election that you want. You want the
election or people who care on both sides participating, and
then the outcome is what the outcome is. And of
course we saw what it was on on Tuesday.
Speaker 4 (36:46):
Yeah, and we saw some major shifts. Let's start with
the early voting shift. You know, a lot of Republicans
just were completely averse to the idea of early voting.
That got turned around in a big way this year.
Speaker 19 (36:57):
Well and and Jimmy, one of the reasons, and I
didn't really realize that we're into this whole deal, is
that Trump had discouraged early voting in twenty twenty. I
don't know why. I had no idea why he would
take sick position, but the campaign said that they had
to overcome his opposition to that, and I don't know
what it was, but he went along with the idea
(37:20):
voter vote often, which is the old that age. But
so yeah, voting early made a difference, and I think
it was they got participation up and got the ball rolling,
and that was a difference in philosophy for Trump.
Speaker 3 (37:31):
Bill, can you believe Star County?
Speaker 16 (37:37):
I don't think anybody can believe Star County, our county
start it was it was you know, it had a
starring role. And it's a bad metaphor, but it's true.
It just startling really in what happened.
Speaker 2 (37:50):
Yeah, Star County had not voted Republicans since eighteen ninety
six during reconstruction, and it went for Trump.
Speaker 19 (37:59):
When you those who have the kind of fact, you
take the whole election nationwide, but that's that's a county
and a small county and a big state, a lot
of many states, and all of a sudden you take
a look at the whole election, and that's it's everything
you want to.
Speaker 4 (38:15):
Know about what happened. Yeah, exactly, that perfectly. That that
shows you the fundamental shift that that happened in the
Republican Party. Yes, yeah, I mean the Republican Party has
become the party of the Hispanic vote, and the gains
in the black vote just quite amazing. It's it's it's
(38:37):
a much bigger tent for the Republicans. I think that
will serve them well. Bill Miller always good to talk
to you there, got to run political strategist, Bill Miller.
It's five fifty.

Speaker 28 (41:08):
My heart is full today, full of gratitude for the
trust you have placed in me, full of love for
our country, and full of resolve.
Speaker 2 (41:22):
Harris only carried nineteen states on Tuesday, Trump on the
verge of winning a thirtieth for him, though Arizona, a
state that he would flip from twenty twenty. He also
leads in Nevada and will wind up with well more
than three hundred Electoral College votes, not to mention the
popular vote by millions. It is now six zh three.

As for the future of his legal fights, Biden Harris
Justice Department now says it's going to wind down all
these witch hunts against the president elect.
Speaker 34 (41:51):
Oh really, every case that should never have been brought
will be dropped, should be dropped. We see the DOJ

James appearing with New York Governor Kathy Hokeel, who promised
to fight regulatory threats from a second Trump administration. His
cabinet appointees are going to be saying a lot about
the lessons that he learned after having all of those
stab him in the back during his first term.
Speaker 9 (42:54):
I wouldn't say so much what you can expect from
the cabinet. Let's talk about what we're going to expect
from Donald Trump. He has a clear eye I on
where he wants to go with the country. He knows
where the lever of powers are. He knows how to
get things done. I think the big, big difference is
they're going to hit the ground running.
Speaker 3 (43:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (43:11):
Former Trump White House advisor Steve Munister, he says, we
can see former cabinet members, maybe like Mike Pompeo, coming
back to the fold. His win is also sending a message,
by the way, to all of our rivals overseas.
Speaker 32 (43:25):
President Alex Donald Trump will soon be back to addressing
the moves of our greatest threats.
Speaker 11 (43:30):
The thing that Trump has to worry about first, and
his very first foreign policy priority is the war in Ukraine.
Speaker 32 (43:35):
National security expert Harry Cassianis says Trump will be a
busy man in the first few days dealing with foreign affairs.
Speaker 11 (43:41):
I would it be shocked if you saw Trump right
away take a trip to Brussels, maybe go to Kiev.
Then after that, I think he's going to slap around
with a lot of sanctions, try to bury their economy.
Speaker 32 (43:51):
And of course North Korea and China will have to
be watched closely too. Char Lewis News Radio seven forty

Well, Republicans could be at to the majority they have
in the US Senate already. The Nevada race between Sam
Brown incumbent Democrat Jackie Rosen, However, ninety nine percent of
the vote in and they're just tens of percentage points apart.
So it's too close to call, they say. The GOP already,
by the way, has flipped Ohio, West Virginia, and Montana.
Speaker 3 (44:20):
Control of the.
Speaker 2 (44:21):
US House still unsettled too, but the GOP is confident
about that, seven seats away from having the clear majority.
As for what happens in twenty twenty.
Speaker 12 (44:30):
Five, we've got to come right behind him with a
robust legislative agenda. We have got to do this for
the American people. Secure the border and then turn to
the catastrophe that's been created by the border being open.
Speaker 2 (44:42):
Current House Speaker Republican Mike Johnson on Fox it is
now six oh six and Harris County at least ten
soft on Democrat judges are voted out. It's a red
wave that has made the DA race closer than expected.
Sean Tier only beat Republican Dan Simons by twenty three
thousand votes.
Speaker 13 (45:03):
We are going to operate an office that gets out
of the business of scandalous politics, and we're going to
go after bad guys.
Speaker 2 (45:11):
Tier after his close win on our TV partner Channel two,
a race we were watching closely yesterday, the Fort ben
County Sheriff's race. Eric Fagan wins reelection. He defeated Marshall,
slought the challenger by just four hundred and ninety votes.
It is now six oh seven. Stock futures are up
again across the board this morning. It was a huge
(45:33):
day on Wall Street yesterday, the Dow gaining fifteen hundred
points to close at a new record high. That a
Reserve expected to cut interest rates by twenty five that's
a quarter percentage point today, twenty five basis points, second
straight meeting that we would be getting a cut. But
how does financial how much will financial policy change next
(45:54):
year when a second Trump administration takes over.
Speaker 9 (46:00):
Unfortunately, I think it's just impossible to tell what Powell
is going to do just because we have another Trump presidency.
I don't think that's enough information for us to know
what is the Fed going to do. They're just too unpredictable,
and that's not a good thing.

learn more, maybe about Mayor John Whitmyer's plan to deal
with a homeless problem.
Speaker 18 (46:34):
So the mayor said that he was going to be
rolling out a new city sponsored if you will, I'm
homeless encamp men. I mean there has been a visible increase,
and so I think this is an attempt by this
administration to curb the problem a bit, because there have
been a lot of compliants.

Speaker 4 (47:05):
I love you guys.
Speaker 1 (47:06):
On US Radio seven kg RH six old nine is
our time. You're in distance porting news. So what fueled
the Trump victory? Pollster Frank Lunz, who leans left, says
Democrats have a lot they need to learn from this election,
and one of them is how to talk to the
people who are living paycheck to paycheck.
Speaker 26 (47:28):
Well, you got it, and you understand it. And that's,
in fact, exactly what happened. And this is a group
that has been voting Democrats since I've been alive, and
Trump is the first Republican able to coalesce them. And
one of the key moments in this is that it's
not white paycheck to paycheck, it's not brown Latino, Hispanic
(47:50):
paycheck to paycheck. It doesn't matter what your ethnicity is,
it doesn't matter what your gender is. If you're a
paycheck to paycheck voter struggling every week or every month,
you were more likely to consider and to actually vote
for Donald Trump than at any time since Ronald Reagan
in nineteen eighty four. You'd have to go back forty years.
(48:13):
And it happened in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, and happened in Georgia, North.
Speaker 35 (48:21):
Carolina, Arizona, Nevada. That is the similarity, and it helped
bring Republicans major victories in the Senate race, and it's
likely to keep the House in Republican hands.
Speaker 26 (48:36):
That's how significant this election was.
Speaker 4 (48:40):
So the paycheck to paycheck, the blue collar folks, the
people who depend on their job just to make ends. Mean,
they are having a hard time making it.
Speaker 3 (48:48):
Maybe you weren't.
Speaker 2 (48:49):
Getting a lot of money from the government, which they
were during COVID Think about that, right, all that government
pay for nothing?
Speaker 4 (48:55):
Right, So now the people.
Speaker 3 (48:57):
Who had to work, Wow, yeah, been a rough time.
Speaker 4 (49:03):
It has been a rough time. And I mean it's
nice to know that they realize that that the person
who's most likely to help them in their situation, get
them better pay, get them better jobs, get them more opportunities,
is Donald Trump.
Speaker 3 (49:17):
It's the rising prospects.
Speaker 4 (49:19):
Yeah, they figured that much out.
Speaker 3 (49:20):
Rising prospects of people.
Speaker 4 (49:22):
Again, every now and again, we in our little vacuum,
in our little media vacuum, we have a tendency to
feel like they're not getting it. People are getting it.
Speaker 3 (49:30):
Ok, Hey, we live paycheck to paycheck too. I don't
know about you, but I do.
Speaker 4 (49:34):
I try not to. I shouldn't, but we all Yeah,
there's a lot of folks that live paycheck to paycheck

That explains a lot. Let's go.
Speaker 5 (49:48):
First of all, I'll give you a tip line shortly.
Obviously we're turning off this news. I've got reports of
well and I see it with my own eyes. We
got wet freeways all over town. Visibility spen a thing.
I'm still wanting to hear a little more about fog
from some of you out there, but so far we're
not bumping into each other except JC from Huffman.
Speaker 4 (50:06):
You make different here, dude.
Speaker 25 (50:07):
Got Mike, get three cars tangled up Middle Lane.
Speaker 19 (50:11):
It's down south at Hopper too bad.
Speaker 5 (50:13):
Yeah, all right, let's check and make sure that's inbound,
and I'll let the rest of the media know about it.

Bryce Magno, Yes, Mike, we have a little bit of fog,
but there's no rain yet.
Speaker 36 (50:23):
And a bug.
Speaker 5 (50:24):
All right, I'll see you at traffic Court. Yours is

Speaker 19 (50:28):

Speaker 36 (50:29):

Speaker 3 (50:54):
Oh, yeah, no problem.
Speaker 20 (50:56):
Well, the good thing is, as one of the callers
mentioned earlier, he's not seeing any rain out there.
Speaker 3 (51:02):
There's very little in the way of rain.
Speaker 20 (51:04):
There are a few sprinkles up around Brenham and down
south near Lake Jackson, but other than that, there's not
much going on at the moment. I'm only expecting about
a thirty percent chance of some showers over the course
of the day today, and the low clouds and fogs
should begin to improve too later.
Speaker 3 (51:23):
On this morning. Warm day.
Speaker 20 (51:25):
I mean, this is November and we're talking load to
mid eighties today, load of mid eighties as well tomorrow,
thirty percent chance of more rain thundershowers in the afternoon tomorrow,
forty percent chance scattered thundershowers Saturday, and a thirty percent

of course we've got wet freewaists backups from the Beltway.

Speaker 4 (53:56):
By our day, the optimistic ust Todd, I thought what Washington, DC?
I just think of the swamp wind. I think of Washington,
d C. There will be some new faces in Washington,
d C. But the Trump administration Peter Navarro yesterday talking
about some of the people we might see and some
of the qualifications that President Trump will be looking for
this time.
Speaker 37 (54:17):
Just for the record, I'm here as private individual Botsball
guarding for the president elect.
Speaker 4 (54:23):
I think the lesson.
Speaker 37 (54:25):
Of the first term was that it's important to get
the appointments absolutely correct. We had some folks there early
on that were very, very difficult. I think for your viewers.
We've got two tracks. The first hundred days are critical.
You'll see one hundred or more executive orders. All of those, Leland,
(54:47):
can be drafted by people who are not Senate confirmed,
who are not in the cabinet. Those will be West
Wing personnel. And there's a lot of veterans that were
in the first term, who served well, who are likely
to be considered for.
Speaker 4 (55:02):
Those kinds of positions.
Speaker 37 (55:04):
And then after the first hundred days, the cabinet secretary's
become important. I don't know if you know this, Leond,
but it takes an extraordinary amount of time to get
a government in place, and that's why the executive orders
first hundred days, and then the laws and regulatory changes thereafter.
Speaker 4 (55:24):
So I think that I think that.
Speaker 37 (55:28):
What the boss is looking for, and I thought about
this a lot. There's four qualities, Leland. You want somebody
to be loyal to the president, not a Sinka fan
who'll be honest and.
Speaker 4 (55:40):
Blunt when need be, but loyal.
Speaker 37 (55:43):
Most importantly, they need to be loyal to the agenda,
the Trump agenda, particularly on trade, particularly on border issues.
Speaker 4 (55:52):
He likes people who are good with the media.
Speaker 37 (55:55):
And if you're in the West Wing, you really have
to have a command of how the policy process works.
So if he says I want an executive order on
men out of women's sports tomorrow, you need to be
able to know how.
Speaker 4 (56:09):
To do that. There you go. I think I think
he said on right about all those things. I wonder
who he's going to have as his press secretary. I
haven't heard any names floated around yet. Would you want
that job, Shara.
Speaker 3 (56:20):
No, I'm not that quick. I don't have the.
Speaker 4 (56:25):
Grass, I don't have the patience.
Speaker 3 (56:27):
I mean he has some good ones.
Speaker 4 (56:29):
Yes he did. I mean with accept I think Sean
Spicer was the weak link out of White House press secretaries.
But other than Seawan Spencer, and his problem was his temper.
But other than that, I think they were all very
very good. I wonder if he'll go back to well,
one of them is a governor now and no one's
probably baking. Yeah. The other one is making big money
at Fox, so she probably has no interest in doing
(56:51):
that again. So he'll find somebody. He'll find somebody.

It was RNC CO chair Lara Trump who was on
Fox last night talking about President elect Trump's victory on Tuesday,
and is getting even larger a projected win in Arizona now,
and if he gets that state finally called for him,
he will have won thirty states. So much for the
joy and the vibes that Kamala Harris talked about on
(01:00:59):
the campaign drill yesterday, she officially conceded to Donald Trump.
Speaker 28 (01:01:04):
This is not a time to throw up our hands.
This is a time to roll up our sleeves.
Speaker 2 (01:01:12):
Harris at Howard University yesterday. Republicans have won two hundred
eleven so far of the US House races. Twenty three
still have to be decided, and they have to have
seven more wins in order to main maintain the majority
control of the House. They have already flipped the Senate.
It is now six point thirty four Texas. Republicans flipped
(01:01:33):
nine South Texas counties on Tuesday, including Star County, which
hasn't voted Republicans since eighteen ninety six. More than eleven
million Texans voted in this election, and along the way
prove that Texas is not the swing state mainstream media
has tried to tell all of us that it is.
Speaker 19 (01:01:51):
This is the state that isn't turning blue, it's not
turning purple, it's not even turning pink. It's a red state.
Speaker 2 (01:02:00):
Consulted Bill Miller telling k t r H, you can
expect Democrats to try the Texas's purple trick again when
John Cornyn's Senate seat is up for reelection in twenty
twenty six. Mainstream media got Texas wrong. So what about
all of their pollsters.
Speaker 17 (01:02:18):
And share specifically, how accurate were they?
Speaker 10 (01:02:22):
The polling industry did not have a good night, especially
the quality posters has defined bought the media.
Speaker 17 (01:02:28):
That's Robert Kahley, head of the Trafalgar Group, and they
were actually pretty close.

That's Claire mccaskell there, talking heads on MSNBC literally crying
at Harris's loss. What will the next four years look like?
Speaker 30 (01:03:18):
Right now, they're still just trying to adjust to Trump's
landslide victory.
Speaker 31 (01:03:21):
Media prognosticators were wrong again, and it's very similar to
how they reacted in twenty sixteen and yet different based
on the margin.
Speaker 30 (01:03:29):
Curtis Hawk with the Media Research Center told KTRH, don't
expect them to learn from their mistakes this cycle.
Speaker 31 (01:03:34):
The media are going to be outrageously negative. I think
they know that the American people don't talk them. It's
just a matter of whether they actually care.
Speaker 30 (01:03:43):

It's now six thirty six, oil futures stabilizing with Trump's
wind writing seventy one bucks a barrel this morning. Fracking,
of course, the big talking point for Trump on the
campaign trail. Expect another fracking boom starting next year.
Speaker 27 (01:04:06):
We need a stable regulatory environment, We need an administration
that actually supports development of American oil and gas, and
we need an international markets. American drillers and American oil
and gas producers are up to the challenge if we
get those things right.
Speaker 2 (01:04:21):
As the CEO of the American Petroleum Institute, Mike Summers,
he says, a country we just couldn't continue without fracking.
That's what's unleashed our energy miracle. Wall Street loves them
some Trump though. Now the Donalds skyrocketed fifteen hundred points yesterday,
closing in a new record high. Nearly fifteen years after Obamacare. However,
(01:04:43):
healthcare costs are still on the rise. Can Trump do
something about that?
Speaker 39 (01:04:48):
The average employer sponsored healthcare plan is expected to rise
by nearly six percent next year, the third straight year
of at least a five percent increase. The report cites
fewer healthcare workers and hospitals. The healthcare analyst David bel
says it goes beyond that.
Speaker 4 (01:05:01):
The annual reports of the insurers themselves.
Speaker 33 (01:05:03):
They're showing massive profits on an annual basis. For them
to blame only the healthcare providers is just not honest.
They themselves are contributing to the increases in the premiums
and the overall cost of healthcare.

who voted against him. And guess what, it was a
bad night for everyone who voted for him too.
Speaker 4 (01:06:57):
You just don't realize it yet. And oh yeah, we
just don't realize yet. When a bad night it likes
her who voted him voted for him. It's an absolute
disaster of a night from Milania. Oh that that part
might be true, because now she has to deal with

And they're still talking like that. Well they're still.

rain chances here, but these these are not rain out
days are they.
Speaker 20 (01:09:29):
No, None of these days are rain out days at
the moment. So we've got this warmfront that's making its
way across southeast Texas, and it is a very warm,
muggy day to go along with the warm front, and
with the high humidity, we are seeing a few sprinkles
here and there, nothing that's very concentrated or a prolonged nature,
(01:09:50):
So not a washout, I think. Actually by the afternoon
we may see some sunshine. Low to mid eighties today Tomorrow,
a thirty percent chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon,
and it's still warm load to mid eighties Saturday. That's
when the cold front comes to town and brings us
a forty percent chance of thunder showers, helps to cool

that's hanging around Sunday, so we still have a thirty

Here's sha morning, Everyone is sell six fifty two on

Moral Mechanical. Houston firefighter Marcel Garcia has died as a
three alarm warehouse blaze overnight.
Speaker 3 (01:11:55):
He was forty two years old.
Speaker 2 (01:11:57):
NBC reporting that the White House is now hearing itself
for another illegal alien surge between now and when Donald
Trump takes office. On this date, in nineteen forty four,
Franklin D. Roosevelt won an unprecedented fourth term in the

as VP Harry Truman became president. Then latest news anytime

Your reliable forecast next on the ten on seven forty KTRH, sixty.
Speaker 4 (01:12:34):
Fifty grand Tom, You're on Houston's warnings. That is not
the court that Donald J. Trump found himself in that's
for sure. Question is will he find himself in court
again or will common sense prevail in this case? Is
all get dropped? Here is former Attorney General Bill Bard.
Speaker 41 (01:12:50):
I don't think that the president really is going to
have any legal problems going forward. These cases are not
going to go forward, neither the federal cases nor the
state cases. Again, he's the president, So I think it's
really a question of how these governments, the federal government,
the Justice Department, is going to dismount from the limb
it's gotten itself out on. So I think all cases
(01:13:19):
are a matter of discretion. There's no rule that says
just because you can make a case, or think you
can make a case, or put a case together, you
have to pursue it. It's always a question of what's
in the best interests of the country, And in this situation,
there's no doubt in my mind that the best interests
of the country are served by them dismissing the case.
They're not going to be able to go forward with
(01:13:40):
it while he's a sitting president, either the federal cases
or the state cases, because we don't want these kinds
of things distracting the chief executive from dealing with the
people's business, and the cases are very weak cases. After
they were brought, there were nonumber of Appeals Court decisions
(01:14:02):
and Supreme Court decisions that essentially shot at their cases
full of Swiss like Swiss cheese, and they're not compelling cases,
and trying to pursue them after the president leaves office
would involve years and years of arcane litigation over legal doctrines.
Because these cases are not meating potato criminal cases. They're
(01:14:23):
very novel cases. They raise all kinds of constitutional issues,
and at the end of the day, the juice is
not worth the squeeze as far as the public interest
is concerned.
Speaker 4 (01:14:33):
Yeah, but did anybody listen to what Letitia James was saying?
You say, Bill Barr, did you hear her? She sure
doesn't sound like she's going to let anything go.
Speaker 35 (01:14:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:14:41):
And here's a little interesting side note. Fannie Willis remember
her at County DA. She overwhelmingly won reelection.
Speaker 3 (01:14:50):
So she's still out there, She's still da.
Speaker 4 (01:14:53):
Yeah, Well we'll see. I think the most interesting thing
to me to watch when Trump takes office is how
many hours it takes for him to empty the Department
of Justice.
Speaker 3 (01:15:04):
I don't can't take any time at all.
Speaker 4 (01:15:05):
He will take any time at all.
Speaker 2 (01:15:07):
No, I mean he's at his discretion. Anybody who's a
political appointee he can.
Speaker 4 (01:15:10):
Fire, right right, Well, you'll be looking to fire a
lot of people to do check. Yeah. Well, and so

Top story this hour.
Speaker 2 (01:18:18):
Tenured veteran of the Houston Fire Department, Marcelo Garcia, has
died fighting an East End warehouse fire last night. He
was forty two years old. Another firefighters suffering minor injuries
will have more in this at seven thirty, also topping
our news.
Speaker 6 (01:18:33):
While I concede this election, I do not concede the
fight that fueled this campaign.
Speaker 2 (01:18:42):
I took almost all day for Kamala Harris, but she
did finally concede the election to Donald Trump, speaking to
supporters at Howard University, the one she left hanging on
election eight night, and she also confirmed she did a
phone call to congratulate Trump on his victory. Electoral college
victory gets even larger meantime every day, as Trump is
(01:19:03):
now projected to flip Arizona that would take him to
more than three hundred Electoral College votes. His popular vote
lead is by the way, over six million more than Harris.
In other words, America sent the left a very strong
message sure.
Speaker 4 (01:19:19):
Credation of democratic policies. The fact that they put this country.
It on the road of destruction.
Speaker 2 (01:19:25):
Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson on Fox who joins that new administration.
The pundits say loyalty is going to be a big
factor in Trump appointees.
Speaker 8 (01:19:36):
He had some loyal members the first time, but some
weren't and that was a lesson to learn.
Speaker 9 (01:19:41):
Because Donald Trump had not been involved in politics before,
he really didn't have a long term political team. There
were a divergent group of people from different camps.
Speaker 8 (01:19:51):
Former Trump White House advisor Steve Ministeri says Trump has
now had more time to tighten his circle and the
appointees will tell a lot about what he's learned.
Speaker 9 (01:20:00):
I think you're going to see a lot of business
types and you'll probably see some folks at held elective office.
Speaker 8 (01:20:05):
He says, that includes potentially Texas ag Ken Paxton becoming
the US Attorney General.
Speaker 4 (01:20:10):
Andre Berardenh's Radio seven forty krh.
Speaker 2 (01:20:13):
Our allies and enemies closely watching this transition too.
Speaker 11 (01:20:18):
You've got a situation where a lot of countries are
going to be on whole to wait to see what happens.
They're going to want to see what personnel is brought
into the administration. Batt'll dictate policy obviously and where the
administration will go.
Speaker 2 (01:20:30):
National security expert Harry causianis predicting Trump will resolve the
war between Russia and Ukraine and then slap sanctions on Iran.
It's now seven oh five. Trump used podcasters YouTubers to
his great advantage during this campaign. Also had help from
surrogates who are more in tune with that entire world.
Speaker 43 (01:20:53):
And we can see that with people like RFK Junior,
Tulsei Gabbard, Elon Musk. The people that were on the
left but close to the center are no longer welcoming
the Democrat party. They didn't change their party changed.
Speaker 2 (01:21:05):
As Kenny Webster of our sister station AM nine fifty KPRC,
the left calling these podcasters the new talk radio accusing
the podcasters are spreading misinformation. Now Trump will have a
Republican controlled Senate after the GOP flip seats in Ohio,
West Virginia, and Montana. The Nevada Senate race, though between
(01:21:26):
Republican Sam Brown and incumbent Democrat Jackie Rosen, still too
close to call, even with ninety nine percent of the
precincts reporting. Control of the US House still up in
the air too. Republicans are leading to eleven to two
oh three.
Speaker 12 (01:21:42):
We feel really good tonight about where we sit. With
those California seats. We're still waiting. They've got to cure
ballots and finish all their process.
Speaker 4 (01:21:48):
But look, I think we are going to grow the majority.
Speaker 2 (01:21:50):
House Speaker Mike Johnson. Seven oh six is our time.
Ten Republican judges with their races over soft on crime.
They won their races soft on crime Democrats Here in Texas,
Harris County in particular, this is where it happened. The
red wave made the DA's race closer than Democrat Sewn
Tier would have liked.
Speaker 13 (01:22:10):
However, our community is tired of the partisanship fights.
Speaker 4 (01:22:16):
I think they're ready to unify behind the leader.
Speaker 3 (01:22:20):
Tier with our TV partner, Channel two. Now.
Speaker 2 (01:22:22):
He beat the Republican challenger, Dan Simons by twenty three
thousand votes. Fort Bin County, the Sheriff Eric Fagan has

fewer than five hundred votes. Seven oh six is our time.
Stock futures up across the board this morning. Big day

to close it a new record high. And today the
Federal Reserve makes another move on interest rates.
Speaker 14 (01:22:52):
The spark Money says it'll be the second interest rate
cut this year.
Speaker 9 (01:22:55):
I think we're going to see yet another rate cut,
and I'm increasingly confident that it has nothing to do
with either inflation or the labor market.
Speaker 14 (01:23:03):
Heritage Foundations e j Antni says it's about saving the banks.
Speaker 9 (01:23:07):
A lot of financial institutions on the wrong side of
the interest rate trade and that's causing tremendous losses within
the financial system.
Speaker 14 (01:23:14):
He also says Donald Trump will allow chairman Jerom Pell
to finish his term, but won't nominate him for another one.
Cliff Saunders, News Radio seven forty k TRH.

West Park Toll Road KTRH.
Speaker 4 (01:23:39):
Time saving traffic connect on the ten seven to eight
is our time here on the Houston's Boring News. Well,
that didn't take long Donald Trump gets elected president and
all of a sudden, Habbus wants, oh oh, stop this
war stop. Please please, mister Trump step in and stop
this war. So it's gonna be interesting to see how
(01:24:01):
President Trump plays that. He got a lot of support
from Muslims who have not changed their opinion one iota
about Israel. And he got some support from the Jewish
community because they didn't like what the Biden administration was
doing in not supporting Israel. That's a real needle thread
situation to try to land to stick the landing on
(01:24:23):
that mound.
Speaker 3 (01:24:24):
There's been no greater supporter of Israel than.
Speaker 4 (01:24:27):
John that's a fact.
Speaker 3 (01:24:28):
As President Harry Truman.
Speaker 4 (01:24:31):
I'm also got I'm also interested to see what Vladimir
Putin and our friends in the Ukraine have to say
about all this. You know, there's another needle that he'll
try to threaten and I'm sure he'll try to bring.
Speaker 2 (01:24:44):
Well, it's really critical, is what Mohammed bin Salmon, who's running.
Speaker 3 (01:24:48):
Saudi Arabia, has to say about it. NBS. I think
I think that is really critical too. Yeah, we never
talk about.
Speaker 4 (01:24:56):
That, right, Well, there was no war during the will
with Donal. Yes we will, yes, we will, and there's
plenty there's plenty of potential powder kegs out there. I'm
sure the Taiwanese are breathing a little sigh of relief
because I'm you know, I'm sure they feel it brightly
so that with Trump at the helm, there's far less
likelihood that China is going to make some sort of
an invasion attempt or risk a war with us. And
(01:25:19):
you'll know that one of the first things he'll do,
I'm sure, is get somebody to run the Department of Defense,
who is going to get the military back on track.
Seven ten, Time for traffic and weather together, we're checking
out that drive again. Here's guy Mike.
Speaker 5 (01:25:32):
Fast recording the ninjas have struck on one forty six southbound.
Speaker 4 (01:25:36):
That was an accident.
Speaker 5 (01:25:37):
iHeartRadio listeners knew about it first southbound one forty six
Spencer Highway. We're still a little smashed up at two
twenty five and this is also missing to ramp up
from two twenty five that goes eastbound. Stay the course.
That gets better pretty quickly. Let's go to your tip line. Oh,
let's go to the east loop first, and then tip
line east loop southbound. We cleared the wreck after the
truck stops at Wallaceville.
Speaker 4 (01:25:57):
It was minor. Another minor one hit Lockwood.
Speaker 5 (01:26:00):
If you're going counterclockwise around this way from the east
Text to Iten, you lose about eighteen minutes that way.
So let's take it unless you're hazardous and then take
the South Loop.
Speaker 4 (01:26:09):
Oh south beelt cat Brookside Village.
Speaker 36 (01:26:11):
The line STEMI there's a semi truck broke down dot Street.
There is a tone ninjup with warning tones out, but
it's going to be there for a little bit.
Speaker 5 (01:26:21):
All right, watch out westbound. Thank you so much, and
let's see. Oh Jack from Connecticut is listening. I believe
I think that's who it is.
Speaker 4 (01:26:28):
Hate it's a Jack from Connecticut. I am driving the
Boston and there's stuck a jibywhere.
Speaker 5 (01:26:32):
Well you're not missing nothing in Houston and Ghetto Dave
is on the north side here.
Speaker 10 (01:26:37):
Can you tell us to These clouds are down real
little over here.
Speaker 14 (01:26:41):
It looked up.
Speaker 4 (01:26:42):
It sounds like mister Haney.
Speaker 5 (01:26:44):
Yeah, it's looking a little heavy on the North Freeway.
I forty five both ways from the Belt to the Loop.
I'm in the Generator Supercenter dot Com Traffic Center.
Speaker 4 (01:26:52):
Ghetto Dave from r kt RH Tom tax Defenders twenty
four hour wather senat Terry Smith is here. Yeah, there's
a lot of low clouds out there. We call that
fog at least in subspots, but there's low clouds in
general out there, but they look like they're starting to
burn off.
Speaker 20 (01:27:06):
There's clouds and some mist and a little bit of fog.
Visibilities aren't too bad from what I'm seeing here. In
one place, Conro's reporting about a quarter mile visibility, but
everybody else visibility is a little bit longer. Well, if
you are seeing clouds in fog or even missed or
a sprinkle, it's going to be improving into the afternoon.
(01:27:30):
I think we'll start to see a little more sunshine
and the rain will take a break. We do have
a thirty percent chance of some showers today, mainly in
the morning. Anything that falls will definitely be light. What
temperatures like. These temperatures are five to ten degrees above
the average in the load of mid eighties today, same
thing tomorrow, thirty percent chance of thundershowers in the afternoon tomorrow,
(01:27:52):
load of mid eighties. Then there's a colfront come into
town for the weekend. Forty percent chance of thunderstorm Saturday,
thirty percent chance more range Sunday and blue skies Monday.

info you need to take.
Speaker 4 (01:28:19):
On the day. Well, once again we found this year
that the pollsters had a hell of a time trying
to figure out the presidential polling. How many people would
vote for Trump has never been something that they've been
able to do accurately, not in three election cycles. Now
we'll talk to Robert Gahley, pollster and founder of the
Trafalgar Group. He'll join us next. First though, I'll be short,
(01:28:40):
be short, sky Mike. That's what you are.
Speaker 5 (01:28:42):
South Belt, Scott Street, lookout westbound. That's some kind of
big rig that's stuck right in the middle. Cat from
Brookside Village with the banana sticker. Also, we have cleared
both wrecks on the East Loop, but it's a miss Wallaceville, Lockwood.

all this stuff burns off with high temperature today right

top stories on this Thursday.
Speaker 2 (01:29:27):

Speaker 4 (01:30:05):
Hi, listen talk radio all the time. The world doesn't
wait for you to clock out.
Speaker 19 (01:30:09):
You usually have it on all day at work.
Speaker 4 (01:30:11):
So check in office, stay up to date with used radio.
Seven forty KTRH seven twenty two is our time here
on Houston's Morning News. We are joined by Robert Caahaley's
a follster and the founder of the Trafalger Group. Welcome
to the show. I'm kind of looking at the polling information.
Maybe Wisconsin is a great example about how difficult this
(01:30:31):
thing was. I know, I think the last poll that
you folks did and Wisconsin you showed Kamala Harris with
an ever so itty bitty lead. Of course she ended
up losing that Donald Trump and Wisconsin bud. It was
all within the margin of error. I mean, Trump ended
up with about forty nine point seven percent to Kamala
Harris's forty eight point eight percent. When you're split numbers
(01:30:52):
like that, that's pretty tough to come up with the
winner sometimes, isn't it. It's real tough.
Speaker 22 (01:30:59):
That was one that we were off by one point
seven and you know the goal is trying to be
within your margins the era and me under two percent
is really good. So Georgia we were off by one
tenth the point, North Counta two tenths of point, Pennsylvania
six tenths of the point. I mean, I think Michigan
(01:31:21):
was one point six. I mean, it was our err
rate so far. It is just phenomenally low in the
in this election.
Speaker 2 (01:31:29):
Yeah, but you made so much sense to me when
we talked to you the last time, talking about how
you asked different questions and you go to different targets
than the traditional and what has been the mainstay of
polling has been because the whole world has changed, there's
no question.
Speaker 22 (01:31:47):
I mean, that's why we kind of pushed back on
some of the polling orthodoxy they're focused on. Yeah, they're
all they have to use only the live call. The
live call is only Okay, that sounds great, you know,
but the thing is, how many people do you know
under fifty that you call on the phone and that
(01:32:11):
they're just going to answer the phone or a number
they don't know and talk verbally like that doesn't happen.
And that group you've got to send a text message
and that group is also many of them are very
savvy and they're not going to just clip on a
random link that somebody sends the MOS do they say
it's a pole? I mean, at best it's a fundraising appeal,
(01:32:33):
and at worst it's some kind of a you know something,
some kind of virus is going to affect your phone.
We don't do it that way. We send you a pole,
and all we ask you to fund to is whatever
letter of corresponds to your answer, and then we send
you the next question. You don't risk anything. I mean,
nobody's ever gotten infected by taking back in aarb.
Speaker 4 (01:32:57):
Have you found though that I know? And I can
all the use myself as an example. I am that
everybody wants me to take a survey, everybody in their brother,
every business out there that I do business with, every
restaurant I go to, Uh, everybody wants a survey. The
last thing I've just taken the policy in my mind,
I'm not responding to any of them. You can go
survey somebody else. Have you found that certain age groups
(01:33:19):
in particular are resistant no matter what you do to
answering questions?
Speaker 22 (01:33:24):
Oh, that is the case for a lot of things,
and certainly when we're trying to pull uh you know,
lower race.
Speaker 10 (01:33:32):
Uh you know, somebody trying to.
Speaker 22 (01:33:34):
Pull a house race or a local race. But with
the president's race is a little different. They we get
a better participation rate when there's a question. I mean
that's the ut Donald Trump like him, I don't like him.
People kind of share their opinions about it. And this
(01:33:54):
president race, it just it is. People have an opinion.
It's not a person.
Speaker 10 (01:34:00):
Oh well, I think of that guy.
Speaker 22 (01:34:01):
Nobody says that.
Speaker 2 (01:34:03):
Can I ask you quickly because we're going to run
out of time. What are you pulling now now that
the election is over? I mean, are you polling anything
political now?
Speaker 3 (01:34:14):
Moving forward?
Speaker 10 (01:34:16):
Hopefully hopefully nothing for a little while.
Speaker 22 (01:34:21):
Yeah, we do have, I believe it or not. Politics
has already started. There's just some municipal elections in some
major places coming up next spring. So uh, you know,
we've got a couple projects right now, but we have
to do between now and the now on Christmas that
we've got to get some mattress on because as soon
(01:34:42):
as the Christmas season starts, it's just miserable. Uh, and
it won't let up until after the first year. So yeah, well,
and these are more like just kind of name recognition stuff.
And again this are going to be hard to get
to next people. And one thing, you don't try anything anything.
It was the swing space because you know, God for me,
(01:35:03):
those poor people has just been Yeah, that's for sure.
Speaker 10 (01:35:06):
I'm going to answer that time.

handle those kind of all I can add.
Speaker 4 (01:35:15):
How long before you do your first presidential approval poll
for Trump?
Speaker 22 (01:35:22):
You know, he's the one guy that you that you
could probably do something. You give me an idea, and
now you give me an idea, get an approval ready
on how he's been at me as president elect. That's
that copy that probably gets.
Speaker 4 (01:35:41):
Well, let me.
Speaker 3 (01:35:45):
Love to see it.
Speaker 4 (01:35:46):
If you do that, we'd like to see the results.
That's for sure. Thanks for joining us as always, sir,

Speaker 5 (01:37:01):
Of course, we've got fog all over the place.
Speaker 4 (01:37:03):
We got wet freeway.
Speaker 5 (01:37:04):
So if you didn't get the memo, no snoozing Katie
freeway breaks at Mason West Park. You'll jam up right
at South Park or Cyprus if you had a grand
march at your wedding two nineties. Looking awfully slowed from
my five star. Yeah, Southwest Freeway. The break start at
ninety not bad for the Southwest, and then you hit
the hillcrofts back on northbound loose about six minutes there
one more time hitting into the canyon slow downs from

From our KTRH generator super Center, twenty four hour weather
cent A couple of showers early, partly claudy for the
afternoon today with the high temperature of eighty four. It
looks the way the clouds are burning off. I think
it's gonna be partly claudi this morning. Before too much longer.
I will get the update on the forecast when we
talk to Terry Smith at the Weather Channel. We will
do that in about eight minutes. Right now, seventy six
at your official severe weather station, News Radio seven forty

k TRH. It's time for the news. Here's Sheriff Ryer.
Speaker 3 (01:37:57):
Morning.
Speaker 2 (01:37:57):
Everyone is say seven thirty two on news Radio seven
ktr H in our top story this hour, it's.
Speaker 25 (01:38:04):
Very tough to console a family. A mother can you
hear talk about her baby that was lost? Responding to
a fire department call.
Speaker 2 (01:38:19):
Houston Mayor John Whitmyer be after an HFD firefighter identified
as Marcelo Garcia has died fighting a warehouse fire on
Polk Street late last night. At least one other firefighter
was injured, expected to recover. Garcia had been with HFD
for ten years. He was forty two years old. Also
topping our.
Speaker 44 (01:38:38):
News, I'm going to predict four years from now, whenever
he's leaving office for a second time, he is going
to go down with one of the greatest approval ratings
and I believe want to be one of our great
leaders in history.
Speaker 2 (01:38:50):
Rnc CoA chair Lara Trump there on Fox Now. Trump's
victory on Tuesday night is growing. He's projected to flip
Arizona now on top of the twenty nine other states
that he has already won. Kamala Harris finally conceded after
waiting sixteen hours, and when she did, she took a
failed shot at him. As well as Trump supporters.
Speaker 28 (01:39:10):
In our nation, we owe loyalty not to a president
or a party, but to the Constitution of the United States.
Speaker 2 (01:39:21):
Too bad you didn't practice it, Harris at Howard University yesterday.
Republicans confident about retaining control of the House, having won
two hundred and eleven races so far. Twenty three is
still to be decided. The GOP already securing the Senate
and maybe will even grow that lead. It is now
seven thirty three. Here at home, Texas. Republicans flipped several
(01:39:42):
South Texas counties this week, including the legendary Star County,
which hasn't elected a Republican since eighteen ninety six. SMUs
cal Jilson says the failed Biden Harris economy is why.
Speaker 29 (01:39:55):
The argument that Democrats were a threat to the advances
that Hispanics had made.
Speaker 2 (01:40:03):
Yeah in their paychecks. Hidalgo County, which Joe Biden won
with fifty eight percent of the vote in twenty twenty,
actually also went for Trump on Tuesday. A number of
South Texas counties did Trump, and down ballot Republicans here
succeeded where the party has failed in the past, and
that was with turnout.
Speaker 30 (01:40:23):
This was a high turnout election, with nearly one hundred
and forty million Americans.
Speaker 19 (01:40:27):
Voting yesterday for a variety of everythings. Became an election
that was meaningful and purposeful, and people voted because they care.
Speaker 30 (01:40:36):
Political consultant Bill Miller told KTRH voters in Texas showed
up big for both Donald Trump and Ted Cruz.
Speaker 19 (01:40:42):
Cruce Blew already brought off the table. You've got South
Texas turning more Republican than ever before historically.
Speaker 4 (01:40:50):
So Miller says.
Speaker 30 (01:40:51):
If this election told us anything, it's that Texas won't
be a swing state anytime soon. Ethan Buchanan News Radio
seven forty.
Speaker 2 (01:40:57):
KTRH preliminary data shows at eleven point three million Texans
voted in this election. Mainstream media polsters got it wrong again,
not even close to the being a close election they
insisted it would be, though Robert Kahale's Trafalgar Group was
more accurate than most.
Speaker 10 (01:41:17):
We feel good about where we are, and to basically
knock out the mainstream media groups again, it is so
frustrating they keep just referring in this so good, but
a lot of these doubts haven't been good in a
long time.
Speaker 2 (01:41:30):
Having undercounted Trump support for the third straight presidential election,
it is now seven thirty five.
Speaker 21 (01:41:38):
I'm worried about mass deportation and internment camps.
Speaker 2 (01:41:42):
Yep, that's a sample of what mainstream media is trying
to tell its listeners after Trump's win. As for the
coming months and years, you.
Speaker 31 (01:41:52):
Would think the media should do some soul searching. We
did see that for like a few days, maybe a
couple of weeks after twenty sixteen of this, for they
very quickly went back to their biased ways.
Speaker 2 (01:42:04):
Curtis helped there with a media research that are you
told KGRH mainstream media really doesn't care that their credibility
has been shot.
Speaker 3 (01:42:13):
It's now seven thirty six.
Speaker 2 (01:42:14):
We've got oil futures trading around seventy bucks a barrel
this morning, stabilizing after Trump's win and winning the battleground
state of Pennsylvania largely on his support for fracking. That's
something America initiated developed.
Speaker 32 (01:42:28):
And yes, we need the US maybe getting back on
track of being an energy dominant country again.
Speaker 27 (01:42:36):
We know that demand for oil and natural gas is
only going up, it's not going down.
Speaker 32 (01:42:41):
American Petroleum Institute CEO Mike Summer says the US shouldn't
rely on other countries for energy.
Speaker 27 (01:42:47):
Where exactly are we supposed to produce Because if you
can't produce it here in the United States, they're going
to be producing it someplace else in the world.
Speaker 32 (01:42:54):
President elect Trump says the country will indeed frack in
his second term. Jared Lewis News Radio seven forty h.
Speaker 2 (01:43:00):
Well Street exploded with that Trump landslide. The Dow gained
fifteen hundred points, closing at a new record high, Futures
up well just slightly under one hundred again this morning.
The cost of employer sponsored healthcare, though it is expected
to rise by nearly six percent next year, the third
straight year of significant increase. Healthcare analyst David Blott says
(01:43:21):
the system is just too top heavy with insurance companies
and yes, bureaucrats.
Speaker 33 (01:43:27):
The primary stakeholders in healthcare are medical professional and patient. Unfortunately,
we've got so many people that are trying to get
in between those two and extract the value and have
to drive up the price in order to extract more
and more value on a year over your basis.
Speaker 2 (01:43:41):
Yeah, we'll see whether Trump and his new cabinet can
change that. It is now seven thirty seven Astros free
agent third baseman Alex Bregman he had off season surgery
to repair a bone chip in his right elbow, and
reportedly now six teams are interested in signing him. I'm
Sheba Fryer, a news Radio seven krh.

Listen to news Radio seven forty KTRH on the free
iHeartRadio app. It's all your news, music, sports, podcasts, and
talk free.
Speaker 4 (01:44:11):
Never sounded so good. Seven thirty eight is their time
here in Houston's warning news Now. Fox News led all
networks in primetime when it came to election Night. They
were far and away number one, but the audience was
smaller across the board than it was for the twenty
twenty election. TV viewing on election night dropped off considerably
from four years ago. Primetime coverage of the presidential election
(01:44:33):
averaged forty two point twenty nine million viewers across eighteen
cable and broadcast networks from seven to eleven pm Eastern Time,
according to final same day ratings from Nielsen. That is
a twenty six percent decline from four years ago. In
twenty twenty, sell to people weren't watching. They weren't watching
on TV.
Speaker 3 (01:44:52):
Yeah, they were streaming somewhere else.
Speaker 4 (01:44:54):
That makes it the least watch election nights since the
rating service began keeping total viewer tallies back in the
year two. Here's what I wonder. It's clear if you
just said share that they were watching.
Speaker 2 (01:45:08):
It and I'm streaming alternatives, you know, because the TV
stations all stream themselves so, right, and they count that
in their tally exactly.
Speaker 4 (01:45:17):
So that was my question. Is that a reflection of
fewer people in general watching television or is it more
a reflection of fewer people trusting the election results they
are getting from the traditional sources. In other words, do
you trust ABC, CBS, NBC? Would you watch them on
(01:45:38):
election night if you used two years ago watch them
on election night? Are you still watching them on election night?
Or are you looking for alternative sources where you think
it's going to be more fair balanced and accurate.
Speaker 3 (01:45:47):
Aren't we just reporting how untrustworthy and how they're at
the bottom of the line now in terms of being
trusted by the American people? That was that latest poll.
If you can trust that bowl?
Speaker 4 (01:46:00):
Yeah, I mean, when you lose one fourth of your
audience in four years an election, in the presidential election,
that is wow. That's I mean, that's a huge number.
That is a huge number. And if it continues to
climb that way every four years. You know, we're about
four election cycles away from nobody watching traditional media to
get their election coverage. That can bode well for people
(01:46:23):
who depend on ratings to make a living. Seven forty
time for traffic and weather together. We're checking out the
drive again. Sky Mike's here.
Speaker 5 (01:46:31):
Do we have a new problem on the east sam
northbound before Wallaceville?
Speaker 4 (01:46:34):
That sure looks like a stall.
Speaker 5 (01:46:35):
This is northbound instead of southbound. Everybody else is going
the other way trying to get across the toll bridge bridges.
I think fog may be a problem shortly Hartmon Bridge.
So far, I saw a lot of fog earlier. Baytown
to Laport. We're still open around the toll bridge southbound.
I've got kind of a smush at just Central Port.
Sure looks like we've got another stall this way southbound.
(01:46:56):
Let's jump on the six to ten Sherman Bridge instead,
if you can around town. We've cleared the problem we
had on the north Freeway long time ago.
Speaker 4 (01:47:03):
West Road We're not bad.
Speaker 5 (01:47:04):
We're kind of thick from the belt to the loop,
and then after the loop it's breaks down past the
text dot wall of death at North Maine's that's permanent.
Speaker 4 (01:47:12):
It's a left lane.
Speaker 5 (01:47:13):
And also east text all smashed up now right after
Collingsworth trying to get down into the canyon. Boy Old
al from Kingwood's going to be mad. That's twenty extra
minutes this way. You know, we started out so good
this morning and then I had this slinky What the heck?
I am so sorry downtown golf Freeway. Let's go to
gil from clear Lake.
Speaker 10 (01:47:30):
Dim mid dude, there's a fender bender at the entry
ramp of the Peace Street entry rap.
Speaker 4 (01:47:37):
That makes sense.
Speaker 10 (01:47:38):
It looks like it just happens, so it'll be effect
in traffic.
Speaker 5 (01:47:41):
I see the suckage already starting from telephone two eighty eight.
That's breaks now from a heart up into town and Terry,
look at that fog around the golf ball. I just
send you an image at Gosling Road you can barely see.
Speaker 4 (01:47:53):
Let's take it easy this morning.
Speaker 5 (01:47:54):
Skymike and the classic Buick GMC traffic center from a
r ktr H generator supercenters only four hour weathers under
time to shake in with Terry Smith.
Speaker 4 (01:48:02):
I think we might get to partly cloudy earlier than
you might have thought. There terry because we're already well
on our way to burning off this glod deck.
Speaker 3 (01:48:08):
Well, good for you.
Speaker 20 (01:48:13):
Well, there are other places that aren't having that level
of success yet, but it will happen eventually, a lot
of the cloudinesses to the north and the west of
Metro Houston, but it'll all improve at some point later today,
So we'll get to partly cloudy at some point. A
(01:48:33):
few showers still possible, couple of rain drops this morning,
only a thirty percent chance of some raine. Temperatures today
are going to be warm lo to mid eighties. Tomorrow's
warm low to mid eighties, thirty percent chances of some
thundershowers in the afternoon.
Speaker 3 (01:48:46):
The reason why coal front's on the way.
Speaker 20 (01:48:48):
We'll get a better chance of rain tomorrow night and
then a quick dose of scattered thunder showers Saturday as
the front makes its way through southeast Texas. It will
be cooler, mid toropper seventy. We have a thirty percent
chance of rain Sunday, not much to slow you down,
and then Monday a sunny, dry day.
Speaker 4 (01:49:06):

you need to know for the day ahead.
Speaker 1 (01:49:15):
This is Houston's Morning News, brought to you by New
South Windows Solutions. All right, the election is over, and
our enemies we're paying attention, and we're already hearing from
some of them calling to congratulate President Trump. And you know,
we'd really would like to get along with you, sir.
We'll talk to Harry Casianis national security Expert, Senior Director
(01:49:38):

coming up about this next first of though, We've got
sky Mike with an update on your drive.
Speaker 5 (01:49:45):
It's your North Loop Quest bound at Irvington. Nobody wants
that stall, but we get one every single day and
the squeeze I can't hit the board here. I've it's
taking up a right line. Now, Heartmembridge, look at all
that fog. We'll check all your bridges at the eight
o'clock report in the classic Buick GMC Traffic.
Speaker 4 (01:49:59):
Center from our KTRH Generator super Center twenty four hour
Weather center. Today, we're starting off with some clouds and
a shower possibility, but it's can to be partly claude
by this afternoon. With the high eighty four tomorrow partly
Claude scheduled thundershower chance about forty percent of the high
eight three temperature currently is seventy six at your officials
Severe weather station News Radio seven forty KTRH. Time to
(01:50:21):
check out some of our top stories.
Speaker 2 (01:50:23):
Here's Shriff seven fifty one on news Radio seven forty KTRH.
These headlines are sponsored by the Brian Museum. First time
jobless claims up by three thousand from last week. Two
hundred twenty one thousand. Houston firefighter Marcel Garcia dies in
a three alarm warehouse blaze over night.
Speaker 3 (01:50:39):
He was forty two years old. Hurricane Raphael has knocked
out power to the entire island of Cuba. That's ten
million people, just as China is trying to develop a
military base there. H Goo, Thanks you're strange. Latest news
anytime at KTRH dot com. Our next update is at
the top of the hour fifty nine.
Speaker 4 (01:51:01):
Inbound at the loop is always a problem KTRH time
saving traffic. Next on the ten seven fifty two is
or a time here in Houston's boring news. All right,
national security obviously a big topic. Election is now over.
I think we know from the previous four years of
a Donald Trump administration. He's very good at preventing war.
He's very very tough on our adversaries. He certainly made
(01:51:25):
things difficult for Iran. Iran is an entirely different position
now after almost four years of a Biden administration than
they were under Trump. Harry Cassianis joins US national Security
Experts Senior Director for National Security Affairs at the Center
for the National Interest. I think already the world is
taking note. President Trump is heard from China, and I'm
(01:51:46):
sure he's heard from a lot of other world leaders too,
and I'm sure they're probably trying to tell him, We're
not going to cause any trouble. Sir, absolutely, good morning.
Speaker 11 (01:51:54):
Yeah, No, I think that's right. I think one of
the advantages that Donald Trump has is that he doesn't
abide by any of these you know, ideological prisms. You know,
he doesn't you know, he doesn't have a PhD from
Princeton International Affairs. He goes by his gut and he
looks at very clearly what things that are going to
make the United States safer and executes on those strategies.
Speaker 4 (01:52:13):
So, for example, he rebuilt the US.
Speaker 11 (01:52:15):
Military and gave the military, the arms, equipment, and bonds
they need to fight the wars that they may have
to fight, but in a deterrence model, making sure that
we're not going into these forever wars, you know, putting
pressure on allies to spend more on defense. This way,
if a contingency like a Ukraine invasion comes up, you
know they're able to do more. Putting pressure on China
when it comes to trade to make sure that you know,
(01:52:37):
we're not losing thousands of jobs, you know, every single
month when it comes to you know, bring in all
these imports. So he hit on all these key points
that were very hard to do. And look that the
I think the results are already starting to come in
and he hasn't even become president yet.
Speaker 4 (01:52:51):
So it's it's great to say.
Speaker 2 (01:52:52):
He put in place the Abraham Accords and that was
an agreement between Saudi Arabia and Israel. Never in his
three of mankind. I mean, has this happened and it's held.
It's held for the four years that he's been out
of office. So we don't talk a lot about Saudi Arabia,
But is that part of the steadying factor moving forward?
Speaker 11 (01:53:14):
I think I think it has to be. I think
one of the things that needs to occur is the
Trump administration really needs to put in the time and
effort to try to bring Israel and Saudi Arabia together.
Speaker 4 (01:53:23):
Now, look, it's not going to be easy.
Speaker 11 (01:53:26):
It's this is something that that countless administrations have failed on.
But I think bringing these two, these two nations together
in some way to have some sort of agreement where
Saudi Arabia recognizes the state of Israel, and look, maybe
they don't entirely agree about what happens with the Palestinians.
You know, there can be room for disagreements and talk
(01:53:46):
about that going forward. But I think it's very clear
that Israel and Saudi Arabia are very, very scared of
what a nuclear Iran looks like, or in Iran that
has so many ballistic missiles that get more accurate because
of their alliance with North Korea, that that both of
these countries, even though they have some big differences, can
come together on the larger threat, and that's what changes history.
(01:54:07):
So I think it's something you've got to watch, and
I think it's something Trump's going to focus on.
Speaker 4 (01:54:11):
We have less of the minisot quick thought if you would, sir,
about China and about Putin in Ukraine, and what do
you think Trump's solution to those issues are going to be?
Speaker 11 (01:54:20):
Well, I think, Look, I think when it comes to Ukraine,
it's very simple. It's a stalemate war. There's no amount
of American arms, guns, finance that is going to allow
Ukraine to win that war take back CRIMEA. So I
think Trump is going to push a compromise. It's going
to look something like the Korean War where there's probably
an armissist, where there's probably both sides don't agree on
the borders, but they agree to stop fighting and you know,
(01:54:41):
hopefully back and hold and Ukraine becomes a bigger part
of Europe, not part of NATO, but a bigger part
of Europe. China, I think it's very simple. The United
States is going to continue to put pressure on China,
make sure they don't try to invade Taiwan. We're going
to get more arms to Taiwan so they can defend themselves.
And it's not something the United States tends to do,
and we're going to put a lot more pressure on them.
When it comes to trade, We're not going to keep
losing American jobs to China anymore, and I think Trump's
(01:55:03):
gonna push it.
Speaker 4 (01:55:04):
Well done, sir, Thank you. Harry casianis national security expert.
Y'all have a great day. We'll see you tomorrow morning,
bright and early five. I'll see the saturnoon at four
on AM nine fifty KPRC.
