Speaker 1 (00:00):
Five point fifty two on news radio seven forty k
t H. Here is a guy who may or may
not remember, we interviewed when I was in on the
air in Dallas over the past year. Two Phil Flynn,
a Chicago guy. Just like hello, Phil, Oh, we just
lost him. We'll take him back in a second. He's
a market analyst talking about the gas prices and such.
I had a lot of conversations with him earlier on

(00:22):
a year or two ago in Dallas. I was doing
my regular show there. We'll get him back up in
a second. But the gas prices are obviously affected by
I ran, particularly the straight up one mouse, which is
a very very narrow area. That is, of course, one
side I ran. The other side is oh he's back now, okay,

(00:43):
all right, Phil Flynn, market analyst. How are you, my friend?
It's Chris Croc remember me from Dallas?

Speaker 2 (00:49):
I do, Chris. It's so good to be on the
air for me. When I heard your voice, I'm like
old school man. We're back on the air.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
Two Chicago guys right here. Tell me, sir, we had
we have a ceasefire. Then we don't have a ceasefire.
We have threats of the strait of homos, not straights,
but straight of hormos. We that to be shut it
down on such. How is this affecting our gas prices?
How have they risen over the past week or so
since the war in Earnest began? And what are you
thinking about over the next week or two? And where

(01:18):
do you see this going?

Speaker 2 (01:20):
Yeah, I'm thinking peace to it in my friend. I mean,
we did see a spike in gasoline prices. Depending on
what part of the country you are eight to ten
sense of gallon. But my sense right now, Chris, is
that the worst is over. You know, when we saw
that increase in price, we saw panic buying because everybody thought,

(01:41):
you know, Iran would lash out and you know, blow
up their neighbors' oil fields and they would try to
shut down the straight so horror moves. And now people
realize is that Iran in many respects was a paper tiger. Yeah,
they didn't have the ability to do that because Israel
hit them hard, the US hit them hard, and so
we're taking away those fears and we're going to see

(02:01):
that benefit at the gas pump.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
You know, Phil China came out and said publicly, which
is crazy, but for their own interest that the straight
up hoo moves will not be blocked. And basically China
is like job of the Hut and I RAN's like
a little cackling muppet on Java's lap. So market says
that China purchases the market things that China, which purchased

(02:24):
over ninety percent of Iranian oil exports along with other
Middle East MIDI screwed to oil, will pressure I Ran
to avoid shutting the straight down. That is true, is
it not?

Speaker 2 (02:34):
It is true. And if you think about it, I
think forty percent of China's oil imports on a daily
basis go right through the Strait of Horror Moves. And
also I think it's over twenty percent of their liquified
natural gas. So if you're a little buddy, Iran tried
to shut that down, the Chinese economy would take a

(02:55):
huge hit. You know, they would be getting killed. So
they didn't want that to happen. And you know, listen,
years ago, you know when I Ran threatened to shutdown
the Straits of Horror Moves, it would have mattered a
lot because the US was dependent totally. I'm imparts that's
not true anymore. And and because of these threats for
the you know, the last twenty thirty years. You know

(03:18):
from Iran. The world's got smarter, right. They have alternatives
built in, they have worst case scenarios built in, and
even if the straight was shut for a while, we'd
see a price bike. I think it would be short lived.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
Phil Flynn, great talk to you, my friend. We'll talk
to you again soon, Market Analyst. We appreciate your time
this morning, you bet you.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
I want to learn how to work these phones one
of these days, so stick with my mad friends.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
You can do it. Thanks brother,
