Texas State Representative Steve, let meplay Devil's advocate if you will for just
a second. Here there are peopleon the left who are saying, you
know that the people on the righttalk all the time about students being indoctrinated.
Is posting the Ten Commandments in ourschools an attempt to indoctrinate kids.
That's ridiculous. Jimmy, you're advertisingearlier about our American story. Well,

our American store is built on virtue, and the foundation that virtue comes from
the Ten Commandments. The truth isthat stealing is bad. The truth is
that lyne is bad, murder's bad, adultry is bad. Right, but
we have a left. The leftnow wants basically to say absolute truths,
like saying that stealing her lying isbad. They want to replace that and

just say, hey, whatever youwant, your truth to be, and
so they throw out the scientific method. They throw out absolute truths like this,
which leads to a stable, virtuoussociety. So movement afoot not the
first time in the Texas legislature.Other states have done this, but it
doesn't seem to pass in Texas.So what makes you think it might this

time? It passed through the Senate. Phill King carried the bill in the
Texas Senate, it moved over tothe House. Canny Noble picked it up.
She carried it and Dad feeling killedat Sharah go figure Dave again.
Huh yeah, yeah, yeah,his fingerprints around a lot of dead bills.
So what makes you think it'll passthis time? Well, I'm hoping

that there's going to be some pressurefrom from folks from the state of Texas.
Eighty to ninety percent of Republicans thinkit's a good thing. Fifty five
of Independence think it's a good thing. Roughly forty forty two percent of Democrats
even think it's a good thing.It has it has pretty strong support across
the state. Okay, what doyou think is accomplishes, if anything,

the order to remind our children thatthere are some absolute truths and that we
can't build up a future in thestate of Texas or America. That's that's
void of virtue. How are yougoing to get the teachers and to go
along with this schier? That's agreat question. Yeah, I'm speechless on

that one. I'm not worried aboutit, and I don't care. We're
going to start listening. We're goingto start listening to parents. I'm guessing
that wouldn't be the first thing thatthey've opposed that n in Texas schools that
have actually happened. No, itwouldn't. But Jimmy, here's the thing.
The vast majority of teachers don't identifywith the teachers' unions. Of the
teachers union, the vast majority ofteachers in the state of Texas a really

great people that hold on the samevalues that you and I hold on to.
So if we do post this inthe schools, where does it go?
I assume you want to put Youwould want to put somewhere where they
have the maximum amount of impact.Where would that be? You know,
if it's somewhere in the front ofthe classroom, near the American flag,
near the Texas flag, that'd befine. Okay, So we're not talking

about posting one list in one spotin the school. We're talking about having
it in every classroom in every school. It depends on what the final bill
is going to look like. AndI don't want to presume that I know
what the final bill is going tolook like. Okay, got you,
