resisted arrest tried to run from agents before he was
finally caught. Also topping the news this morning, President elect

(02:18):
Donald Trump adds to his cabinet Robert F. Kennedy Junior
will lead HHS, which of course caused a mainstream media meltdown.

Speaker 4 (02:26):
Well, America, I hope you like measles, That was Jake
Tapper's reaction on CNN.

Speaker 7 (02:31):
Trump also hinted that North Dakota Governor Doug Bergham will
lead the Department of the Interior.

Speaker 9 (02:37):
I won't tell you.

Speaker 10 (02:38):
His name might be something like Burgham, Burgham. He's from
North Dakota. He's going to be announced tomorrow for a
very big position. So everybody's waiting there. He is, Hi, Doug.

Speaker 7 (02:49):
The President elect also signals at another big appointment today,
likely something to do with energy. Trump's first cabinet pick
was Tom hom and his borders are now. The New
York Post reports that thousands of ICE agents relegated to
desk duty under Joe Biden will be moved to the fields,
specifically sanctuary cities, and after four years of the Biden

(03:11):
Harris border policy order, patrol agents are thrilled with the
return of the Donald.

Speaker 11 (03:17):
The difference in morale for border agents was night and day.

Speaker 12 (03:20):
Some agents that were looking at already retiring or just
quitting the agency are now going to stay because President
Trump is going to be our new president.

Speaker 11 (03:30):
Retired ICE agent Victor Avilaw told KTRH it's not just
border agents that are excited about Trump's win.

Speaker 12 (03:35):

Ethan Buchanan News Radio seven forty KRH.

Speaker 4 (03:50):
Thank you, Eathan.

Speaker 7 (03:51):
In Austin, Texas, lawmakers file a bill to eliminate in
state tuition for legal aliens. State rebed Terry Leo Wilson
says it's on fair for education and unfair for American
citizens trying to send their kids to college.

Speaker 13 (04:05):
Many of which cannot afford college themselves that possibly could
if they got a discount on in state tuition. It's
not fair to them to deprive them of that same privilege.
If they would like to go but can't pay the
full price.

Speaker 7 (04:20):
She adds that everyone paying the same amount would be
beneficial and make tuition costs less. It's now five to four.
There's yet another battle brewing in the state capitol as
a Texas tribe says they might seek an expansion on
gambling in the lone Star state.

Speaker 14 (04:36):
In a letter to the state Senate, the Kickapoo Traditional
Tribe of Texas says they would look for full casino
gaming operations since they claim there's currently no control on
online lottery ticket sales.

Speaker 15 (04:46):
There's litigation and court fights ahead. If that's what the
tribe wants to do, they'll spend a fourth in doing it.
Maybe they'll win, maybe they won't.

Speaker 16 (04:53):
We'll see.

Speaker 14 (04:53):
Political consultant Bill Miller says the tribe is going about
this the wrong way.

Speaker 15 (04:57):
If their goal is com mitigat in and around there,
drawn that's not the right close.

Speaker 7 (05:03):
In my cher Lewis News Radio seven forty krh G,
President elect vows to return to tough trade policies, including tariffs.
Fox's list Peak says the Biden White House actually kept
a lot of Trump's previous policies in place. Despite criticizing
them publicly.

Speaker 17 (05:19):
There is definitely room to do more. And by the way,
it's not just the United States. The EU has imposed
tariffs on evs coming into their region. The United States
undoubtedly will do the same, if not more, draconian tariffs.

Speaker 9 (05:32):
This is a.

Speaker 7 (05:33):
Battle, and Mexico's economic minister is threatening that country's own tariffs,
but the Mexican president says they want to meet with
Trump and cooperate.

Speaker 4 (05:43):
It's coming up on five oh six.

Speaker 7 (05:45):
President Joe Biden's in Peru on the start of a
six day visit to Latin America. It'll be highlighted by
his meeting with China's Xijen Ping tomorrow. Back on Capitol Hill,
House Republicans held their final hearing on COVID CDC official Well,
they tried to defend everything that had to do with
the COVID jabs.

Speaker 15 (06:04):
COVID vaccines have really undergone the most rigorous safety monitoring
of any vaccine in history.

Speaker 9 (06:09):
And I'm sorry, please don't do that.

Speaker 7 (06:13):
That was Iowa Republican Marionette Miller Meeks shutting down doctor
Henry Walkee. With many hospitals across the country going woke
post COVID, there's a growing trend atheist chaplains.

Speaker 18 (06:27):
It's something that Dave Welch with the Texas Pastor Council
says doesn't make sense.

Speaker 19 (06:33):
Eighty ninety percent of all cultures believe there is a
God of some kind, so the atheist chaplains is really
a noxy moron.

Speaker 18 (06:42):
But well, Chad's some on the left want of faith
without God.

Speaker 19 (06:47):
There's a constant push against the premise that there's an
absolute God with absolute truth who is unchanging.

Speaker 18 (06:54):
Many of these atheist chaplains identify as humanists. Jeff Biggs,
News Radio seven forty kt EH, it's.

Speaker 4 (07:04):
Five oh seven.

Speaker 7 (07:05):
The Houston Rockets host the Clippers in the NBA Cup
Tournament tonight. We'll have the pregame at six o'clock on
our sister station, Sports Talk seven ninety and there is
college football tonight as well as UH visits Arizona. Coverage
A nine point fifty KPRC starts tonight at eight fifteen.
I'm Cliff Saunders on Houston's news, weather and traffic station,

(07:27):
News Radio seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 9 (07:30):
Look, what happened is.

Speaker 2 (07:32):
The greatest political comeback of all time.

Speaker 9 (07:35):
There has ever been two, three, four times.

Speaker 20 (07:37):
Today News Radio seven forty jgrh.

Speaker 3 (07:42):
Oh, do you remember Black Friday shopping at the mall?
Five oh eight is our time here in Houston's Morning News.
What was your job? Did you have a guys, did
you have a job on Black Friday?

Speaker 9 (07:52):
Did you ever?

Speaker 5 (07:52):
Did you ever participate in that?

Speaker 3 (07:53):
I tried real hard to never participate in Black Friday shopping?
And Elizabeth Well, I went to visit my sister one
Thanksgiving and her husband for Thanksgiving, and they were all about,
well she was all about my sister was all about
going to the mall and to buy stuff. And so
my brother in law, Chuck, and me, our job was

(08:17):
to be line holders. We were the line holders while
the ladies would go through the store and you know,
pick up bargains. We were in charge of being in
line because the lines were way back for checkout, so
you'd have to wait so long to check out. It
actually wasn't a bad plan. It wasn't exactly how I
would like to spend my you know, Black Friday morning,

(08:38):
but that's how that worked. The morning after Thanksgiving. They're
saying that the morning after Thanksgiving this year is could
be a record breaker, at least if you include cyber
Monday New Survey, but the National Retail Federation says a
record one hundred and eighty three point four million people
are planning to shop in store and online during the
five day period. That would be an all time record.

(08:58):
The number would be up from one hundred and eight
million shoppers in twenty twenty three, eighteen point one million
people more than five years ago in twenty nineteen. Okay,
it used to be Black Proddy was just the beginning
of the shopping season, right, That's when you started your
Christmas shopping. That's not when you've finished now, it's kind

(09:20):
of the beginning in the end. So we always get
these optimistic reports about how many people are going to
be shopping between Black Priddy and Cyber Monday, and they
may be record numbers, but what has really changed is
the amount of people shopping after that. That's gone way down,
especially as the inflation rate has gone way up five
to ten. Time for traffic and weather together. I wanted
them to bring back midnight Madness mid Yeah, how about

(09:44):
can we do the blue Lights special? I know km
Art's gone with the blue lights. You used to like
the blue Lights special too.

Speaker 4 (09:49):
That sounds like a lot of fun right here.

Speaker 6 (09:51):
It's a you know, it's a dirty shame about Green's Point, Maul.
I remember, you know, wearing my parachute pants talking to
girls buying records like Frampton Comes to Life and Green's Point.
We're looking around here North Freeway I forty five. You
look good over here. Let's go to the east side.
Talk about crying dirty shame. San Jacino Mall once the
biggest mall in Texas Baytown. It's gone, just evaporated. Garth

(10:16):
Road in on iten looks good past. At least we
have BUCkies into the San Jacento river Bridge. Twenty minutes
here Golf Freeway. I'll meet them all northbound. You're coming
up from clear Lake. Twenty one minutes here, first Colony Mall,
Sugarland still there, huh. Inbound your main lanes are looking
pretty good now. The fountains, that's a big deal. I've

(10:38):
been in the downtown. No problems here. Twenty two minutes, Terry,
Let's like, oh my god, go to the mall. I'm
Scottmick and the Generator Supercenter dot com traffic.

Speaker 3 (10:46):
So you know, wood Maall is still doing really well though.
Put Woodland's mall, Oh really you know, I'm not surprised
it's got all the lakes. Really seven days a week?

Speaker 16 (10:54):
Pack?

Speaker 6 (10:54):
Wow, absolutely pack Terry. What's the biggest album you ever bought?
Your like, your favorite rock music album that you in
the eighties?

Speaker 5 (11:01):
Boston Boom. I know there's the reason why I liked
you We were I could listen to that all day long,
more than the feeling over and over. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (11:11):
From our KTRH Top tax Defenders twenty four our weather Center,
Terry is here. No blue light special, but that's a
big white light special up in the sky this morning.

Speaker 21 (11:18):
Isn't that beautiful super moon? Full moon, clear skies to
be able to see it. I just I call it
Mother Nature's nightlight. It's just so beautiful. Well, we are
getting the week head off to a very nice start.
Could be a little damp by the end of the weekend,
watching this next storm that's going to be making its

(11:39):
way through the Southwest.

Speaker 4 (11:41):
That'll head our way with some rain by Sunday.

Speaker 21 (11:43):
But what a gorgeous morning and a great day with
the sunshine and just a little more warmth. Mid upper
seventies today, Tomorrow, still dry, a few clouds, upper seventies
to low eighties, great weather overall. Then Sunday we've got
that next storm on the way, some showers and thunderstorms.
Is sixty percent chance of getting wet. Hopefully that'll hold

(12:05):
off until the afternoon. We'll be near eighty Sunday, and
we've got more rain Monday, and then we clear out Tuesday,
and the temperatures at least start off the work week
on the mile side.

Speaker 3 (12:16):
Temperature right now, Libby do will check it for you.
Here it is forty eight at your official severe weather station.
News Radio seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 2 (12:25):

Morning News team.

Speaker 5 (12:33):
All the info you need to take on the day.

Speaker 3 (12:36):
Well, looky, here we have our Is this our first
official defection?

Speaker 5 (12:40):
Not not really? Iva Longoria You know who she is.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
Right, The actress who by the way, used to live
in Texas, says she is anxious and nervous for Americans
who cannot escape there, and I quoted her Dystopian country.
Following Trump's White House win, she says, the shocking part
is not that he won. Okay, you're not the fact

(13:06):
that he won. Oh, The shocking part is that he's
a convicted criminal who spews so much hate that anybody
like that could hold the highest office. She says, I
would like to think our fight continues. What has she
done lately, if has she been anything in anything?

Speaker 5 (13:20):
Really?

Speaker 3 (13:21):
Since Desperate Housewives? Born here in Texas, Oh she has
long split her time between countries, living in both Spain
and Mexico, so this is really nothing new. She probably
won't make any changes whatsoever. She just wants you to
know that she's privileged and therefore she doesn't need to
live in the United States while Trump is President of

(13:43):
the United States.

Speaker 5 (13:44):
Five twenty. Time for traffic and whether.

Speaker 6 (13:46):
It's together it's expressed by celebrities or not, staff management
or any living person.

Speaker 5 (13:51):
Or anybody with a brain or me.

Speaker 6 (13:53):
An old friend named Kevin said that a lot of
you listeners know who I'm talking about. All right, let's
go to let's check your vizor right now as I
ten rocking along now from Ktie Mills mall, another mall.
This one's going twenty nine minutes into the president's heads. Now,
look at West Park. You're a big shot. You got
your tollsticker, You've paid good money for that cat Brookside Village.

Speaker 22 (14:14):
Morning, Mikey go freeway to follow that beautiful super moon.
Highway sixth was only forty three minutes.

Speaker 6 (14:24):
I'll see you in traffic court and I'm in the
Generator Supercenter dot Com Traffic Center.

Speaker 3 (14:29):
From r KTRH top tax defenders twenty four hour weather
center Sunday. About seventy five for the high today, becoming
partly clouding around eighty that's for tomorrow and then for
Sunday boarding thunderstorms likely, some scattered afternoon storms possible with
the high temperature right about eighty. Cooler temperatures coming four
next week. Temperature right now is forty eight At your

(14:49):
official severe weather station, News Radio seven forty KTRH. We're
checking out some of our top trending stories on this
Friday morning. Here's clip and we're.

Speaker 7 (14:57):
Brought to you by DNM Auto Leasing. After losing last week,
the Biden administration continues to gas like you on the
state of the economy. President elect Trump nominates former Georgia
Congressman Doug Collins to run Veteran Affairs and Tonight's Mega
Millions jackpot is three hundred and eighty seven million dollars.
Get the latest news anytime at KTRH dot com. Our

(15:19):

Speaker 9 (15:21):
Social media keeps me in the no.

Speaker 2 (15:23):
Good for you use doesn't care what KTRH keeps you
in form. There's a lot going on us Radio seven
forty KTRH.

Speaker 5 (15:33):
All right, got them by the radio kids.

Speaker 3 (15:36):
It's time to talk about the cabinet pics, at least
a few of the cabinet picks. Yesterday we got Robert F.
Kennedy Junior for Health and Human Services Secretary, and it
seems to have flummoxed.

Speaker 5 (15:48):
I like that word.

Speaker 3 (15:49):
It seems to flummix both people on the left, who
I think are still upset about Bobby Kennedy, you know,
leaving the Democrat Party, and people on the right, the
Rhino right, the Markowski's of the world, who who think
he's just he's too extreme. And then of course you've
got the talkings on the medium. Hope you like, Hope

(16:10):
you liked your measles vaccine because because after all, Bobby
Kennedy is going to come in and he's going to
take away all vaccines at least that you know, that's
the accusation. And there's some some other picks too. Greg
got Build and Dana Perino on the five talking about
some of these picks in reaction to it.

Speaker 23 (16:27):
There's this great meme going around where they took a
montage of all these media hacks saying threat to democracy,
threat to democracy, and they replaced democracy with bureaucracy. And
when you hear it, it seems like that is actually
the reality, whether it is Pete Hegsath, Tulsi, Vivek and
Elon and now RFK Junior, it feels as though there

(16:49):
truly is like a team of Avengers focusing on the
excesses of government.

Speaker 9 (16:54):
I love it.

Speaker 24 (16:55):
I want to see that meme, Son, I'll.

Speaker 5 (16:57):
Send it to you after the show.

Speaker 9 (16:58):
Okay, focusing.

Speaker 24 (17:00):
So this morning I was giving for a newsroom and
I was thinking, okay, what do I think about these nominations?
And I thought, you know what, I'm not going to
worry about it because by five o'clock there'll be something else.

Speaker 9 (17:10):
Guess what.

Speaker 24 (17:11):
Now we're back on Trump time. There are two news cycles,
maybe three new cycles in a day. By the time
Jesse shows on tonight and yours on tonight, there'll be
something else. So yes, I'm just like rolling with it.
And I've continued my answer to everybody who's texting me
what you think?

Speaker 4 (17:24):
What you think?

Speaker 24 (17:25):
We'll see right, so we'll see I like Liam Donovan
on Twitter, he said, or on excuse me, he said,
there's some forty Russian nesting dolls of nominations happening. Because
you have one, you're like, oh my gosh, and then
you're like, oh, yeah, you like that one, how about
this one? And they just keep on coming. I am
thinking about one thing though, and maybe there will be
a big to do about this. Voter said the number

(17:47):
one issue was the economy, inflation bringing prices down, and
since the election, which was only a week and a
couple of days ago, but we have all of these teams,
we don't have an economic team announced yet, and so
I'm waiting to hear that, like where's Treasury Commerce, where
are the prices coming down? Where's the plan? Who's the
National Economic Council Director at the White House?

Speaker 9 (18:06):
What are we doing?

Speaker 24 (18:08):
And I also very much want to know who is
going to be the secretary for the USDA and for
RFK Junior. That's a very important position because that's you
don't get school lunches from Health and Human services, right,
that's all done through USDA has a lot to do
with the things that he cares about. So finding out
who rounds out that package, to me, is what I'm
waiting for.

Speaker 3 (18:28):
You know, I agree with her on the economy part.
That's really the part I'm waiting. Who's going to be
the Treasury secretary, who are going to be his economic advisors?
When will they? In what form? Will they extend the
Trump tax cuts? Because we know they're getting ready to expire,
so they're going to have to be extended. Will be
they extended just the way they were? Will there be

(18:50):
changes made? President Trump on the campaign trail says he
was going to not be taxing waiters and waitresses or overtime.
Does that become part the next Trump tax cut package?
Is a separate one. Who's going to lead the way
on all this stuff? And that's probably what a lot
of you are waiting on, right because if she said
the economy is the number one concern, that's what people

(19:12):
want to know about. Jay Powell insists, Oh, the economy's fine.
Look if we got inflation under control at two point
six percent? No, not really, No, you really don't. The
only thing that's really dropped is gasoline prices, and those
are volatile. They could go again at any time. Five
twenty six. Here on news radio seven forty KTRH, it
is time to take a look at your money. Jeff

(19:32):
Bellinger is here.

Speaker 25 (19:34):
And Jimmy, good morning and happy Friday. And speaking of
Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, his remarks yesterday did not
go over well on Wall Street. Stocks fell after Powell
gave a speech in Dallas. He said central bankers can
take their time lowering interest rates as long as the
economy holds up. The major averages had losses ranging from
half a percent to six tenths percent, and the futures

(19:56):
are rather sharply lower this morning and now futures down
one undred seventy three points. Shares of Walt Disney managed
to rally yesterday. The stock rose more than six percent
after Disney reported strong quarterly results and issued an upbeat
long range forecast. And the bankruptcy Judge has approved a
restructuring plan for Diamonds Sports Group. It includes a multi
year agreement to stream games on Amazon dot COM's Prime

(20:20):
video channels. Diamond also has a new naming rights deal
with FanDuel, and it will be renamed the FanDuel Sports Network.
I'm Jeff Bellinger, Bloomberg Business on News Radio seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 5 (20:35):
You are Houston's News.

Speaker 26 (20:37):

Speaker 2 (20:47):
More of what's happening now from the Sean Moore Services Studios.

Speaker 3 (20:51):
It is five thirty here on Houston's Morning News. I'm
Jimmy Barrett. Among our top stories this half hour, j
Powell claiming the economy is great. Is Hair Counnie looking
at how you voted and coming up at five thirty
eight Autism. This study claims it's linked to air pollution.
Details in the minutes ahead. You're in Houston's Morning News. First,

(21:11):
let's check out that morning drive again. Sky Mike's here. Oh,
this is what Friday should be like. Jimmy Barrett, we're
looking at your North Freeway. The only thing I have
is this little stall after Richie.

Speaker 4 (21:21):
It's outbound.

Speaker 6 (21:22):
It's a little bit of a dark spot, so watch
out as you're coming up from greens Point southbound.

Speaker 4 (21:26):
We're all good.

Speaker 6 (21:27):
Twenty two minutes from Rayford and Sawdust itm. We have
two different stalls too, Lockwood and right around the truck
stops at Magnolia. That's pretty well lit up so you
can see it just fine. I'm Skymike in the classic
view at GMC Traffic.

Speaker 3 (21:39):
Center from our KTRH Generator super cent or twenty four
our weather Center Sunday today. With the high temperature right
about seventy five, there's a rain chance this weekend, primarily
on Sunday. We'll check that out and Terry Smith at
the Weather Channel. In nine minutes, current temperature forty eight
did your official severe weather station? News Radio seven forty
k TRH. It is time now for the news. Here's

(21:59):
cliffs onto yours.

Speaker 7 (22:00):
Thank you, Jimmy five point thirty one on KTRH. Our
top story this hour, your money Fed chair Jerome Powell
continues to try and convince you that the economic pain
you feel every day because of inflation isn't real.

Speaker 27 (22:13):
Inflation has eased substantially from its peak, and we believe
it is on a sustainable path to our two percent goal.

Speaker 7 (22:20):
That was pale in Dallas yesterday, ignoring that prices have
not gone down, and the fact is inflation is closer
to being at three percent year over here than his
two percent goal. After rising for six straight weeks, mortgage
rates slightly dropped to six point seven nine percent. So
why haven't they come down after the Fed cut rates

(22:41):
not once, but twice.

Speaker 28 (22:42):
People don't believe the Fed is actually getting inflation under control,
and so they're demanding higher interest rates to compensate for
the inflation that they know is coming.

Speaker 7 (22:52):
Heritage Foundation economist DJ and Tony telling KTRH that the
market is also trying to make guesses about how things
are going to look over the next four years. Taking
a look at overnight trading, down futures are down almost
two hundred points losses across the board. This follows a
down day on Wall Street, with the Dow losing two
hundred and the NASDAK being down one hundred and twenty three.

(23:16):
Closer to home, a warning about the rise of home
title thefts right here in Harris County. It's led to
a lawsuit which is seeking a million dollars in damages.

Speaker 29 (23:25):
Home title theft is a growing problem. Somebody will go
in and file a deed to your home in their
name or somebody else's name, without anybody knowing about it,
and before you figure out what's going on your home
has indeeded to somebody else.

Speaker 7 (23:41):
That is legal analyst Chris Triteco Jimmy is going to
talk to Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee at six twenty
on Houston's Morning News five point thirty three now on KTRH.
Here's another lawsuit, this one filed against Harris County and
the voting machines used in the election.

Speaker 4 (23:57):
Jay Christian Adams.

Speaker 7 (23:58):
With the Public Interest Legal Things Foundation says those machines
allow officials to literally see how you voted.

Speaker 30 (24:05):
Texas officials know this is happening. This is not a
secret to anybody who's in the know in election administration.
They don't have a full time fix for it. And
we're bringing a case to protect the right to a
secret ballot because right now in Texas you don't have one.

Speaker 4 (24:19):
He says.

Speaker 7 (24:20):
It's a clear violation of the First and the fourteenth Amendments.
In Florida, President elect Donald Trump made more cabinet picks
official last night.

Speaker 31 (24:29):
The President elect let the cat out of the bag
early and announced that he is choosing North Dakota Governor
Doug Bergram to lead as Interior Secretary, so.

Speaker 9 (24:40):
I won't tell you.

Speaker 10 (24:41):
His name might be something like Burgham Burgham.

Speaker 5 (24:45):
He's from North Dakota.

Speaker 31 (24:47):
Really wanted to hold his tongue, but he couldn't help it.
So Ourfka Junior was also there tonight at that gala,
and Trump congratulated him.

Speaker 9 (24:55):
He got a standing ovation.

Speaker 7 (24:56):
Aisha Hansei reporting there. Now, the left and the main
street media, they continue to throw tantrums over these picks,
especially Matt gets as Attorney General. But Texas Congressmanship Royce says,
this is exactly what Washington needs.

Speaker 32 (25:12):
Obviously, President Trump has been sending up some some nominees
that I think would be disruptive to the status quote.
You know, these are outside the box folks that are
coming up here to you know, challenge the status quote,
drain the swamp.

Speaker 9 (25:23):
I think that's critically important.

Speaker 4 (25:24):
Roy on Fox Now.

Speaker 7 (25:26):
One of the lessons that one of the reasons rather
Trump won was because the left ran on radical positions,
and even though those ideas were rejected by the voters,
the Democrats seem to be doubling down.

Speaker 12 (25:39):
They will not give up this fight, and the main
fight that they want to fight is on the identity stuff.

Speaker 16 (25:45):
The reactions to Trump.

Speaker 7 (25:48):
Political analyst Chris Johnson telling KTRH that the Democrats are
now beholden to this activist class that now runs their
party five point thirty five on KTRH. There's another sign
that Trump is going to be good for the Texas economy.
A new report from Robert Half says seventy nine percent
of local employers are hiring for the holidays.

Speaker 33 (26:09):
Forty nine percent of these Houston companies are actively hiring
for new permanent positions that they'd like to get filled
as we go into the back half of the year
or for sure to start the new year.

Speaker 7 (26:19):
Robert halfs Brandy Clark says that now that the election
is over, many companies are starting starting to look ahead
of the first quarter of next year, with the highest
in demand holiday hires, by the way, are going to
be in marketing, legal and technical. First time jobbles claims
dropped last week by four thousand, a total now of
two hundred and seventeen thousand. It's the lowest number we've

(26:40):
seen in six months. But there's this. According to new research,
nearly twenty percent of office managers have considered quitting. Why
the stress involved with managing gen Z employees Gabrielle Bochet
of The Millennial Solution says her generation has literally turned
into their parents.

Speaker 22 (27:00):
Millenials are becoming managers, are getting a taste of their
own medicine, of what it's like to hire another generation
that feels almost foreign to them.

Speaker 7 (27:09):
More than twenty five percent of managers say they would
avoid hiring from gen Z if they could have said.
They have already fired a gen Z employee. Five point
thirty six on KTRH, former HBDF officer Gerald Goins is
looking for a new trial after his conviction in the
Harding Drug Street Harding Street Drug raid. A couple of
months ago. Goins was sentenced to sixty years in prison

(27:32):
after a jury convicted him of murder for the tests
of Dennis Tuttle and Regina Nicholas in twenty nineteen. Five
point thirty seven college football this weekend, ut will visit
Arkansas Tomorrow. Kickoff will be at eleven o'clock. That game
will be on Sports Talk seven ninety Elsewhere, Number fifteen
Texas A and M hosts New Mexico State. Baylor is

(27:53):
at West Virginia and the Texans continue to prepare for
their game.

Speaker 4 (27:56):
On Monday Night.

Speaker 7 (27:57):
Football when they visit Dallas, trying to bounce back from
two consecutive losses, kickoff, and that one is set for
seven fifteen. I'm Cliff Saunders on Houston's news, weather and
traffic station, news Radio seven forty k TRH checking in.

Speaker 16 (28:11):
I'm money.

Speaker 9 (28:12):
Why don't you call more?

Speaker 34 (28:13):
We all avoid it, but you'll better understand the world
around you if you check in with US news Radio
seven kt RH.

Speaker 3 (28:22):
It's uh five thirty eight. It's not that bad, is it?
Five thirty eight? Here in Houston's morning news. I yes,
we have some pollution, of course we do. We have smog.
We're Houston. We have smog, but our era is far
cleaner than it was twenty or thirty years ago, and
the same can be said for the entire country. A recent,
a relatively recent, historically speaking, recent development are the cases

(28:43):
that we see of autism. And we really don't know
what causes autism. They're studying it all the time, they
don't really know. You know, kids who develop autism appear
to be normal for the most part when they're born,
and sometimes for the first several years of their life,
and then all of a sudden, the autism kicks in. Well,
there's this new study. I'll put that in air quotes.

(29:05):
They claims that air pollution breed them by women during
pregnancy may be linked to a greater risk of their
child developing autism. According to the study, babies who are
exposed to particulate matter of nitrogen oxides, sulfur dioxide, and
ozone are more likely to develop the neurodevelopmental order disorder

(29:26):
I should say. Study claims that these four common pollutants
that breed them by the mother or when the infinite
is still in early childhood, the pollutants are able to
bypass the protective layers of the brain and cause inflammation,
which affects the way nerves function and develop. I don't
know who did the study, who funded the study, of
course you always want to know that, right. Evidently the

(29:47):
study was done at the Laboratory of Neuromics and Transitional
Medicine at Hebrew University of Jerusalem, so it was done
in another country. By the way, there are four states
in the United States that have all four particulates in
the air at a level that they believe could have

(30:09):
an impact on something like autism. Those states are Arizona, California,
and Oregon. I guess there's three states. California, I get
they have a tremendous amount of smog. Oregon I was
a little surprised by in Arizona. Two Texas is not
on that list. Now it'd be interesting, I guess to
study how many autism cases, for example, do they have

(30:32):
in California per capita versus other states. I mean, is
there are there more kids that have autism because you
know the pollution is worse there. I would start with that.
I guess five forty. Time for traffic and weather together,
we're checking out the drive against what's happening.

Speaker 6 (30:48):
Well, it's a good morning for all the big shots
this morning on Graham Parkway. Now we have that roadwork
going through Sinco Ranch. Does Sinco Ranch have a big mall?
Let's check between Frei Road and Highland Knowles got that
tight down, those little squeeze down puning lanes and the
text off wall of death on both sides.

Speaker 4 (31:05):
But for now we're actually getting through that. People are
being nice.

Speaker 6 (31:08):
If you're going north of that from I ten up
to two ninety, rocking Long two ninety over to Tomball.
If you're somebody's butler, you know one of these days.
People are gonna say, I.

Speaker 5 (31:17):
Remember when there was nothing around here in the Grand.

Speaker 4 (31:19):
Parkway Northwest corner.

Speaker 6 (31:21):
But we're rocking along all the way over to the
golf ball Terry, let's see here. Kat from Brookside Village
sends her compliments, by the way.

Speaker 4 (31:28):
Follow that beautiful supermoon outstanding.

Speaker 6 (31:31):
And by the way, Cat was my first caller on
the tip line this morning, seven one three two one
two t ips. It's interesting because I'm working in Schutlenburg
this weekend. North freeways rocking long. We haven't had our
wreck at Shepherd yet, golf freeways rock and we haven't
wreck had a wreck at park Place.

Speaker 4 (31:47):
And I've got Joe from Baytown.

Speaker 19 (31:48):
My dude, the Hartman Bridge is clear.

Speaker 16 (31:51):
The repairs, you're all done.

Speaker 4 (31:53):
Oh, we're good to go.

Speaker 6 (31:54):
Yeah, they were fixing an expansion joint and you got
to have a whole lot of papers for that.

Speaker 4 (31:59):
Terry doesn't get that.

Speaker 6 (32:00):
Well, Chack, we're good both ways, Baytown to Laporte.

Speaker 4 (32:04):
I'll bet you every dollar in my pocket. She doesn't
even know what zis.

Speaker 6 (32:06):
I guess Skymike on the classic GMC Traffic Center.

Speaker 5 (32:10):
I only know because of my cousin running of course.

Speaker 3 (32:12):
Yeah, from our Katie our Age Generator Supercenter, twenty four
hour weather Center. Terry Smith is here and we're gonna
talk about the forecast.

Speaker 5 (32:22):
Here we listen, We're gonna go.

Speaker 3 (32:23):
It looks like we're gonna go basically from September into
December in here in about five days.

Speaker 5 (32:30):
In the next four or five days.

Speaker 21 (32:31):
Yeah, I mean like today is uh nice November day.
Temperatures get a little warmer over the weekend and early
next week, and then we do have a cold front
with submarine and be cool down not quite December maybe.

Speaker 4 (32:48):
Well anyhow, it's.

Speaker 21 (32:50):
All academics, so outdoor plans are in fine shape today
and tomorrow. Today is a little bit warmer, mid upper seventies,
Tomorrow close to eighty. Sunday we'll start to get so rain.
There's a sixty percent chance of showers and storms. Temperatures
near eighty Monday and eighty percent chance of rain, and
then Tuesday drives out. We're near eighty degrees Monday and Tuesday.

(33:11):
It's Wednesday when we see the cooler weather show up.
It looks like high temperatures middle part of next week
mid to upper sixties.

Speaker 5 (33:20):
So yeah, it'll be nice we'll.

Speaker 3 (33:22):
Like it right now forty nine at your official severe
weather station, News Radio seven forty k TRH.

Speaker 5 (33:27):
What you need to know for the day ahead.

Speaker 2 (33:30):
This is Houston's morning News, brought to you by New
South Windows Solutions.

Speaker 3 (33:35):
So I have some very interesting local stores we're working
on today. The Texas Public Utility Commission met yesterday and
they have decided that they are going to hire at
a third party to audit Center Point. The suspicion is
that Centerpoint has been overcharging Houstonians to the tune of
one hundred million dollars here in the greater Houston area,

(33:56):
and I think they want to get to the bottom
of that and find out if there's any truth of that.
So we'll begin to that story here before you know,
probably in the next twenty or thirty minutes, so please
stay by. Also, we're going to talk next with Victor Reveal,
a former ICE special agent. All of a sudden, border
agents are quitting. Matter of fact, there's probably some of
them we're talking about coming back and retirements are on
the hold. Why Trump is coming to the White House,

(34:19):
we'll talk about that next first though, at five fifty
Traffic and Weather together, if Sky Michael is looking for
trouble and it didn't find him much.

Speaker 5 (34:26):
You know, not a whole lot.

Speaker 6 (34:27):
And you know what, hopefully with Trump and Victor at
Vila may need this slinky two in a couple of years,
so too, we'll just pass this over to him.

Speaker 4 (34:33):
We've got your six ' ten north loop.

Speaker 6 (34:35):
We' getting a little loopy at the squeeze westbound right
there at forty five. I call it that because it's
just two little puny lanes and a wicked curve. Dude,
watch out coming over from the east. Text so far
we're looking good. We're going up through uptown.

Speaker 5 (34:48):
Does that make sense?

Speaker 6 (34:49):
We're looking at maybe an extra minute if that sky
Mike and the classic PUA GMC traffic center.

Speaker 3 (34:54):
From our KTRH Generator super center twenty four hour weather
Center's sunny about seventy five for day, becoming partly cloudy
around eighty four tomorrow and then the morning thunderstorm chants
on Sunday, a scattered chance in the afternoon with the
highemperature bout eighty temperature right now currently forty nine at
your official severe weather station, News Radio seven forty k TRH.

(35:16):
Check out some of our top stories here on this
Friday morning. Here's Cliff you.

Speaker 7 (35:19):
Said forty nine Wow, sponsored by Morrow Mechanical. Jimmy, a
Euston man with ties to ISIS is arrested for planning
terrorist attacks. An arrest is made in this week's murder
of a woman in a Southwest Houston liquor store. It's
the woman's ex boyfriend and nerd. Wallach says that the

Speaker 9 (35:50):
News, weather, and traffic updates. It makes my day easier.
Remember the rule of three can make the day better.

Speaker 1 (35:57):
On News Radio seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 16 (36:01):
Five fifty two start time.

Speaker 3 (36:02):
Here in Duson's Morning News, Victor of Villa joins US
Farmer Ice Special Agent. It's amazing, Victor, how you can
kind of turn morale around in an agency in a
twenty four hours less than a twenty four hour period
post election versus pre election.

Speaker 16 (36:19):
That's absolutely true. A good morning.

Speaker 12 (36:21):
I actually talked to a lot of my colleagues.

Speaker 16 (36:23):
And friends that are there on the border.

Speaker 12 (36:27):
The following morning after the election, and it was literally
like a flip of the switch where there I felt
like they were like just giddy about it.

Speaker 16 (36:37):
Just it's so excited.

Speaker 12 (36:40):
And you're right what you said right now that they
are some that were planning on retiring and putting in
their paperwork are now going to hold off and they're
going to stay, which is what we need. And you're right,
there's see even some others that want to come back
because they know that they're gonna basically just come back
and be able to do their job.

Speaker 16 (36:59):
That's what they've been wanting.

Speaker 12 (37:00):
To do for the last four years, instead of being
asked to do and forced in many ways to do
things that are not right and in my opinion, illegal
in a lot of ways. And so you're going to
see an incredible movement, not just border patrol, by the way,
it's kind of across the board with law enforcement.

Speaker 16 (37:20):
You're going to see recruitment go up.

Speaker 12 (37:22):
You're going to see even all the way spelling over
to the military because people are going to get inspired
to go back and want to be public servants once again.

Speaker 3 (37:30):
And I'm thinking too that this all comes from the
fact that I think these folks realize that Hey, finally
I'm going to be able to do my job again.
We're going to be following US law. I'm going to
be doing my job again. In fact, I saw a
story early this morning, Victor. The thousands of Immigration and
Customs enforcement officials that have been relegated to desk work
processing illegal immigrants are going to end up going back

(37:51):
in the field. That's automatically going to give a boost
to the number of border patrol agents we have out
there protecting our border.

Speaker 12 (37:59):
That's right going to be what I call a surge
of a lot of this personnel, initially down to the
southern border, even northern border. We can't we can't forget
about the northern border. But you're going to see a
surge not only of border patrol agents and others that
have been, like you said, assigned to desk jobs, but
also you're going to see a lot of temporary duty
assignments from other agencies like the US Marshals, maybe even

(38:22):
Secret Service, and other agencies that can afford to lend
US borrow their personnel for several months while we secure
that border initially, but then the Interior enforcement is going
to be probably what I think the rest of the nation.
I know I've been doing a lot of interviews about
what that's going to look like with these deportations that

(38:44):
are going to take place.

Speaker 3 (38:45):
I'm guessing, Victor that you know, there's only so much
you can do at any given time. I'm guessing Mission
number one is going to have a lot to do
with the cartel in cutting the amount of fentanyl in
human trafficking coming across that border.

Speaker 16 (38:58):
That's it.

Speaker 12 (38:58):
That's that's the price already. It's the actual line, it's
the river, it's the ports of entry. But more specifically,
it's dealing with Mexico. I mean, we have to know
and we have to understand that there's Mexico plays a
vital role here and they haven't.

Speaker 16 (39:15):
Been a good partner.

Speaker 12 (39:16):
There haven't been a good friend or neighbor, and they're
going to have to be held accountable. And so the
diplomacy there is going to be ramped up and a
lot of action is going to be taking care there
from President Trump to deal with Mexico because, whether you
like it or not, we need their cooperation to stop

(39:37):
that flow. And the next the biggest thing I think
is that President Trump will do is designate these cartels
as foreign terrorist organizations. That's going to be the biggest
game changer because we as the United States government, get
the ability to bring additional resources like DD resources, but
not just that, but different authorities to really strip them

(39:58):
of their money and assets that they have.

Speaker 16 (39:59):
All over the world.

Speaker 3 (40:00):
I would think too, that there may be a military
component with all this. The cartels are dangerous and they're
very well armed, but we're going to we're going to
have to fight fire with fire when it comes to
the cartels.

Speaker 12 (40:10):
We're gonna have to And I understand sometimes people think
that that's the initial thing that we're going to do,
but it really isn't.

Speaker 16 (40:15):
It's going to be it's on the table.

Speaker 12 (40:18):
It'll be something that we get to if necessary, which
I think at this point it might be it's going
to be necessary to do some kind of intervention, their
military intervention. But we have so much to do initially
that we just need to stamp stop that flow of
all the illicit traffic, the human trafficking, the human smuggling
right now is out of control because in this last year,

(40:42):
different things have happened in Mexico that a lot of
people stopped coming in. You saw some of the numbers
of the numbers of them coming drop significantly. Why because
that doesn't mean they stopped coming. They just means that
it came they started coming smuggled and undetected.

Speaker 16 (40:57):
And we've seen.

Speaker 12 (40:58):
That spike, especially in the Opasso area with over two
hundred and eighty stash houses of human beings being.

Speaker 16 (41:05):
Detected on the US side.

Speaker 12 (41:07):
And so that's another factor because the cartol is not
going to want to stop. They're still going to want
to continue their flow. And but now the enforcement's going
to be there's something that we haven't had in the last.

Speaker 3 (41:18):
Four years, Right Victor, thank you as always appreciate it.
Former Ice Special Agent Victor Avila. It is five fifty seven.

It is time now for the news onders.

Speaker 4 (43:00):
Thank you, Jimmy six zero two.

Speaker 7 (43:01):
We are sponsored this morning by Plans for All Seasons
and our top story, the FBI arrests a Houston man
for supporting and plotting terrorist attacks here in the US.

Speaker 4 (43:11):
That man, identified as Assan Said.

Speaker 10 (43:14):
Said explain allegedly in great detail the level and extent
of his support for a foreign terrorist organization isis.

Speaker 7 (43:23):
He's accused of planning attacks against Jewish interests and American
military personnel. He also tried resisting arrest. The FBI had
been watching Said since twenty seventeen.

Speaker 4 (43:34):
Also topping the.

Speaker 7 (43:35):
News, President elect Donald Trump's cabinet continues to take shape,
officially adding our FK junior to lead the Department of HHS.

Speaker 10 (43:44):
We want you to come up with things and ideas
and what you've been talking about for a long time.
And I think you're going to do some unbelievable thing.
Nobody nobody's going to be able to do it like you,
and boy does he feel it in his heart.

Speaker 7 (43:57):
Trump also hinted that North Dakota Governor Doug Berger will
head the Department of the Interior. He would be the
second governor to join Trump's cabinet. Christy Noam would be
DHS Secretary. The president elect also signaled that he could
name his Energy secretary today. Trump's top issue will be
border security, of course. In the New York Post reports

(44:18):
ahead of mass deportations, ICE agents that have been on
desk duty under Joe Biden will now be moved into
sanctuary cities undocumented.

Speaker 9 (44:27):
We have no idea who they are and where they've gone.
They've been shipped all over the country.

Speaker 7 (44:32):
Lara Trump, the RNC co chair, on Fox Business. After
four years of not being able to do their jobs
under Biden and Harris, agents are excited about the return
of Trump's law and order immigration policy.

Speaker 12 (44:44):
There's nothing extraordinary about what we're going doing other than
going back to follow the existing immigration law that's been
there for a long time, the same law that the
Bien and Harris administration they've been ignoring.

Speaker 7 (44:55):
Former ICE agent Victor Ovlah told KTRH that the difference
in border patrol morale after Trump's victory has been night
in day in Austin, one Texas lawmaker files a bill
to eliminate in state tuition for illegal.

Speaker 5 (45:09):
Aliens stay repped.

Speaker 35 (45:11):
Terry Wilson filed it this week, and it's about equality
and education.

Speaker 13 (45:15):
Everyone's hurting. But to carve out illegal and give them
a discount on in state tuition, it's just really not fair.

Speaker 35 (45:24):
Her last attempt at this failed, but a shifting house
changes things, and beyond being unfair, it just hurts everyone's
wallets more.

Speaker 13 (45:31):
Charging full tuition for everyone and not having these carve outs.
When you do that, everybody pays a little less.

Speaker 35 (45:38):
She says it has a good chance this time because
more true conservatives have taken over the House. Andre Perard
News Radio seven forty KRH. It is now six oh five.
There's yet another showdown coming in the state capitol. The
Kickapoo traditional tribe of Texas says the state does not
have proper control over online lottery ticket sales and therefore

(45:58):
they would seek full casino game aiming operations.

Speaker 15 (46:01):
Right now, I don't think online daming's going to happen
because the Senate supposed and that's a hard vote for
people to vote for something and then it doesn't happen.
Not even good appearing at the Senate for the House
won't take it up again, and therefore it's a non
issue in this session.

Speaker 7 (46:16):
Political consultant Bill Miller says that the tribe would likely
be met with litigation and further court battles. President elect
Donald Trump has US rivals and allies bracing for tougher
trade policies.

Speaker 36 (46:28):
Mexico's economic minister is threatening to slap its own tariffs
on US goods if President Trump does it to them.
Congressman elect Riley Moore tells Fox Business he's already proposed
a bill to enforce tariffs on countries that harm our
economic interests.

Speaker 37 (46:41):
As President Trump is rightly said, we are for free trade,
but we are for share trade.

Speaker 9 (46:46):
China is winning.

Speaker 30 (46:47):
We need the American people to win, the American worker
to win, and the only way we're going to do
that is to be.

Speaker 34 (46:53):
Able to have reciprocal tariffs to put these people back
in their place.

Speaker 36 (46:57):

Speaker 3 (48:55):
I wait us our time here on news Radio seven
forty KTRHA. Woman has penned at essay explaining why she's
canceling both Thanksgiving and Christmas following the election. It is
Andrea Tate. She wrote an essay into the Huffington Post
reflecting on her reaction to the President elect's victory, knowing

(49:17):
that she voted for Harris and her husband had voted
for Trump, a mixed marriage. Tatero howed upset she was
following the announcement, and how she had resorted to scrolling
on social media to make herself feel better when she
noticed a Facebook post from her husband that read God
Bless America, God Bless number forty five, number forty seven.
It had likes and a few commentators joined him in

(49:39):
his celebration. He was downstairs in the kitchen making coffee,
she wrote, and I was upstairs affording him. I couldn't
talk to him. I couldn't even look at him. Immediately,
I texted, I love you.

Speaker 16 (49:49):
Oh. She had to text it to him. She couldn't
talk to him. She's a man.

Speaker 5 (49:52):
I love you.

Speaker 3 (49:52):
But out of respect for me and all my liberal
writer friends, can you please take that down? Down that post.
Also tell your family I will not be coming for
Thanksgiving and I will be hosting Christmas. I'm a little
surprised at the Christmas thing. I get the Thanksgiving, but
I thought a lot of the you know a lot
of the Harris supporters, you know, they didn't really you know,

(50:16):
worship Jesus or celebrate his birthday. They were more about,
you know, celebrating the liberal issues. So I then again,
I guess it's easy to cancel Christmas if that's how
you feel, right, I wonder how many people other people
are canceling Christmas because of the election of President Trump.
I think I'm going to have the half half happiest

Speaker 2 (55:01):
Your forecast is at the bottom of the hour like
seven KTRH six twenty three now here in Houston's morning news.

Speaker 3 (55:09):
Yep, this is a This is a scary story. A
retired Houston g h ISD teacher had her stole home
stolen liberally out from underneath her. I guess this is
a title company scam. Let's ask Harris County Attorney Christian Menaphie,
how did this happen?

Speaker 5 (55:23):
Christian?

Speaker 39 (55:25):
Hey, what we saw here was an individual in our
community who had lived in the same house since nineteen
seventy seven. A retired teacher was getting some home repairs
done to her home, and eventually the contractor company required
her to dead her house to them so that they
could use it to get alan in order to complete
the work. And then they beat it the home to

(55:47):
someone else who held it for a few months and
then deeded it back to the company. All this resulted
in this elderly woman, who again had lived here since
nineteen seventy seven, being without her home. It's a tragic story,
and I think it's a testament to how sca are
trying to take advantage of the most vulnerable people in
our community.

Speaker 3 (56:03):
Have we seen an uptake in these types of stories?
Are we seeing more and more of these home theft
sort of scams? We seem to hear stories of the
people or who are particularly vulnerable. People have vacation homes,
for example, maybe they don't live in it all the time.
They don't necessarily other than paying the proper taxes, they
don't really keep up with what's going on with the
title on their home.

Speaker 39 (56:23):
Yeah, these stories are becoming more and more prevalent here
in Harris County. Just last year, my office filed a
lawsuit against the title company that was using any number
of scams to steal people's homes out from under them,
and in other instances they would take people's escraw money
and then run with it. When we foilt this lawsuit,
the owner of the company filed for personal bankruptcy, but
she was I guess social media famous, and it had

(56:45):
run the scheme across our county. So we're seeing more
in uptick and these types of scams, as well as
other scams as we approach the holiday season. So what
we at the Harris County Attorney's Office want is for
people in Harris County to be diligent, to take steps
to protect yourself and go to FREEHC dot com for
tips to protect yourself and to report fraudulent activity.

Speaker 3 (57:04):
Well, let's talk about some of those tips. Because you're
mentioning a couple of title companies. Evidently not everybody in
the titled company business is scrupulous. So how do we
spot one that is going to potentially be a fraudulent
company or somebody who might do something like this to us.

Speaker 39 (57:18):
Well, one great thing that's happened recently is the FTC
has banned people putting fake reviews out for the company,
and so in many instances, consumers would go to see
the reviews to ensure that it's a good company and
they would be scanned in that sense. So check the reviews,
check the Better Business Bureau, but be on the lookout
for unique business practices like asking you to deed your

(57:39):
home or to make some sort of commitment that would
put your home as collateral for work done to your
home is very dangerous. Anytime people are doing something that's
outside of the norm to get your personal identifying information
or to get an ownership stake in your home, very dangerous.
Check people's references right when you put workout, put it
out to be have multiple companies bid on it, make

(58:02):
them submit references, talk to their references.

Speaker 4 (58:04):
To make sure that they're doing good work.

Speaker 39 (58:06):
What we see is more often than not, when people
go with the first company that shows up at their door,
they're more susceptible to these types of scams.

Speaker 3 (58:13):
You clearly never signed your title over to anybody else,
unless unless you are selling your home and you are
at closing right.

Speaker 39 (58:21):
That's exactly right, And I think that's one of the
reasons why we see these companies prey on some of
ourmost vulnerable communities. You know, you may have an elderly
person who's never had work done on their home, so
they don't know that this is a that that would
be an odd thing for someone to ask for. So
that's why we think it's so important that you talk
to people's references, that you know more about a company
before you engage with them.

Speaker 5 (58:39):
All right, Kristin, what's the website again for people to
get those tips.

Speaker 4 (58:42):
It's SCAMFREEHD dot com.

Speaker 39 (58:44):
And not only can you get tips about how to
protect yourself and these types of deed scams, but there's
another of other scams that people run on our communities,
especially during the holiday season. So as you're going into
Cyber Monday and Black Friday, it's important to be in
a position to protect yourself.

Speaker 3 (58:59):
All right, Counselor thanks Jonius Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee.
It is six twenty six. It is time to take

Thank you, Jimmy six thirty two on KTRH our top
story is your pocketbook. Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell claims
inflation is slowly heading towards their two percent goal, but
he admits there's still some obstacles.

Speaker 27 (01:01:29):
Inflation is running much closer to our two percent goal,
but it's not there yet, and we are committed to
finishing the job. With labor market conditions in rough balance
and inflation expectations well anchored. I expect inflation to continue
to come down toward our two percent objective, albeit on
a sometimes bumpy path.

Speaker 7 (01:01:45):
But inflation went up last month, and there's this. Mortgage
rates are now in six point seven eight percent, reflecting
inflation and other concerns.

Speaker 28 (01:01:55):
Markets are trying to take account for the presidential election,
and so people are now having to reevaluate. Is spending
going to continue the way it is? Is economic growth
going to continue the way it is?

Speaker 7 (01:02:06):
Heritage Foundation economist E. J. Antony says investors are also
concerned about the recent FED rate cuts that have been premature.

The Harris County Attorney is filing a lawsuit seeking a

(01:02:27):
million dollars in damages for victims of home title theft.

Speaker 14 (01:02:31):
The question now is do the alleged criminals have that's
stolen money?

Speaker 29 (01:02:34):
And they may have filed the deed, sold the homes,
and pocket and cash out of their scheme to swindle
people out of their homes, But the question is do they.

Speaker 5 (01:02:42):
Still have that money.

Speaker 14 (01:02:43):
Legal analyst Chris Tritteco says anyone can become a victim
of home title theft.

Speaker 29 (01:02:47):

Speaker 18 (01:03:25):
Not a secret at all, as Texas officials can now
look up how any person voted.

Speaker 30 (01:03:32):
Look, it sounds far fetched, I get it, but it
turns out it's actually happening, and we brought a lawsuit

RFK juniors. HHS Secretary Doug Bergham officially will be named
Secretary of the Interior today. We could also find out
who Trump's choice is for Energy. Democrats are crying foul
about several of Trump's picked so far, including Pete Hegsith
as Defense Secretariat, Matt Gates for attorney General.

Speaker 4 (01:04:08):
But you sent up.

Speaker 7 (01:04:09):
Majority leader John Thune says he won't allow the Dems

Speaker 3 (01:04:14):
We are not going to allow the Democrats to thwart

his agenda.

Speaker 7 (01:04:24):

What too early in the six thirty eight is our ton?
You're on Houston's morning News. Not too early? Sonny is
switching our sister station, Sonny is switching over to Christmas
music at five pm today. The reason I bring that
up is because all poll rather has found that the
top sign the Holidays have arrived is hearing Christmas music
on the radio. Twenty percent say that Christmas is I

(01:07:21):
just heard Christmas music. It's Christmas or the holiday season.
So this is kind of the another region.

Speaker 15 (01:07:30):
Right.

Speaker 3 (01:07:30):
We're getting close to Thanksgiving. It's not Thanksgiving yet. I
used to have a rule about not turning on Christmas
lights until laughter Thanksgiving Day was over and done with.
My neighbors have completely broken that rule. I mean, if
I don't turn them on before Thanksgiving, I'm going to
be the only one the neighborhoods and turned them on.
That didn't come That didn't come up on the list though,
of things that tell you the holiday season is here.

(01:07:51):
To me, that's that's the number one thing is when
the neighborhood, when the neighborhood you know, turns on their
own Christmas lights.

Speaker 5 (01:07:58):
See.

Speaker 3 (01:07:59):
But number one was hearing Christmas music on the radio
twenty percent of the vote. Number two was seeing your
first seeing or hearing your first holiday ad. That didn't
know because they start those earlier and earlier Christmas ads
have been on for several weeks now, so I don't
go with that one. The number three item was the
sun setting before five p m. And we have we

(01:08:22):
have a waste to wait for that right now? I
think I want to say sunset. Terry could tell us
and probably will in the second, but I want to

keep an eye for now that's two right lanes. Let
me see what the backup is. We'll look at those
backups from bel Air. Which other way could we go?
We could thank Rice Avenue, get around that Southwest Freeway
over our shoulder. West Park is the back door. You've
got another big slow down around Kirby. I'm not sure

(01:09:32):
we don't have a some kind of stall right there
in the Montrose Canyon East Text Freeway Downtown. It's a
crammed up wall of breaks from Quiitman you're trying to
get down to the Med Center.

Speaker 4 (01:09:43):
You'll be a lot better.

Speaker 6 (01:09:44):
After the big George southbound and we cleared that wreck
on the north sam that had the overturn a long
time ago.

Speaker 9 (01:09:50):
Lee Road.

Speaker 6 (01:09:50):
Now you have the usual Scooch going westbound, Alding Westville.

Speaker 4 (01:09:53):
We're missing two left lanes. I'm skoy Mike on a
classic few at GMC Traffic.

Speaker 3 (01:09:57):
Center from r ktr H Generators twenty four. Our weather center.
We've got Terry Smith standing, but we've got some nice
mild temperatures today. I always used to think I needed
it to be cold before I could feel like it's
the holidays. I had to give that up when I
moved to Houston.

Speaker 4 (01:10:14):
Well, you have to redefine what cold is.

Speaker 5 (01:10:16):
Yeah, that's right. It's a whole new definition now. Terry,
and you.

Speaker 21 (01:10:20):
Were saying something about the sunset.

Speaker 3 (01:10:22):
Yeah, evidently the number three choice for people on when
they feel it's the holiday season is when the sun
sets before five.

Speaker 5 (01:10:29):
Oh, gully, we have a waste of wait, don't we.

Speaker 25 (01:10:32):
Yeah?

Speaker 21 (01:10:32):
Yeah, I don't even know if our sun does set
before five. That's my question. I'll check that out. But
right now, five twenty five is sunset.

Speaker 36 (01:10:42):
So yeah, we'll see.

Speaker 4 (01:10:44):
I'll go look, I'll see. That should be interesting.

Speaker 5 (01:10:46):
All right.

Speaker 21 (01:10:47):
Back to our weather, blue skies, great temperatures, like a
little bit of fall, and we're going to see more
heat and humidity. So today's my pick of the weekend,
mid upper seventies. Tomorrow we're still drying. It's just a
little bit warmer, close to eighty. Sunday we'll start to
get some rain of sixty percent chance of showers and storms.

(01:11:07):
More rain Monday, that's the actual cold front Monday, eighty
percent chance of showers and storms. Tuesday drives out. It's
back to sunshine. But Wednesdays when the temperatures expected to
feel a little more like the holidays, maybe with eyes
in the sixties.

There have been accusations that Center Point has been overcharging

the Texas Public Utility Commission seems willing to hire a
third party due to an audit of the finances of
Center Point. More in that story coming up next. First, though,
traffic and weather together as we check out the drive again.
Here's sky Mike.

Speaker 5 (01:11:54):
I've got a.

Speaker 6 (01:11:55):
Reason for that big back up on the Southwest Freeway
that was inbound northbound Montrose right under that pretty bridge.
We got two left lanes blocked. Heer, Hopefully everybody's okay
with this accident. I've got backups from Greenway Plaza northbound.
You know what, the Katie Freeways a really good alternate.
Now even Southwest also has backups. Right after iillcroft on
the west Flop six ten. Don't like what I'm hearing about.

(01:12:15):
This wreck here northbound at Post Oke, and we have
backups from bel Air.

Speaker 4 (01:12:20):
We're taking up two right lanes.

Speaker 5 (01:12:21):
They may take more shortly.

Speaker 3 (01:13:30):
So Center Point been overcharging us? And are we going
to do an audit? We be the Texas Utility Commission.
Are they going to do an audit? Third party audit,
independent audit in order to find out? And will Centerpoint
cooperate with all that? Our television partner kPr C did
a report on that here it is Lave Friday.

Speaker 40 (01:13:49):
Centerpoint announced plans to return to the negotiating tables with
its coverage cities for fair rates, so we expected the
PUC to discuss it, but they didn't say much. Instead,
they're following suggestions by the Lieutenant Governor to have someone
looking to whether the energy company overcharged customers before the
May to Ratro and Hurricane Barrel hits. Center Point Energy

(01:14:11):
asks the PUC for a sixty million dollar rate increase
roughly a dollar twenty five per month per customer. After
the storm, the company received pushback, plenty of it.

Speaker 3 (01:14:23):
Nobody wants to pay higher rates, and like stated before,
we're paying more for power these days that we ever have.

Speaker 27 (01:14:29):
I think they had to cover some of the expense
of fair mistake.

Speaker 9 (01:14:33):
They're kind of too big.

Speaker 40 (01:14:34):
Including from Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick.

Speaker 29 (01:14:36):
I cannot say I'm proud of the work of Centrepoint,
neither of the preparation or the communication.

Speaker 5 (01:14:46):
Or the recovery of the storm.

Speaker 40 (01:14:47):
It was during this October meeting in Houston where Patrick
urged the PUC to do something about Centerpoint and the
allegations it's overcharging customer by hundreds of millions and the
purchase of generators. Today, the PUC chairman did just that,
empowering staff to hire a third party auditor on it.

Speaker 5 (01:15:05):
I think there are a few things we can look at.

Speaker 41 (01:15:07):
Centerpoints policies and procedures when procuring goods from a third party,
how they evaluate customer needs for where the mobile generation
needs to go, including looking at their emergency operation plan
and how it deals with this.

Speaker 40 (01:15:19):
The chairman hopes whoever they hire to look into the
company has the work completed by April, before the end
of the eighty ninth legislative session.

Speaker 41 (01:15:27):
I think that's really the important piece of this is
to have something, you know, that we can show and
potentially take exe if we need to.

Speaker 40 (01:15:36):
In a statement of KPRC who Centerpoint says it's committed
to working in full transparency and accountability, while adding they
have hired a third party company of its own to
review its response to Hurricane Barrel.

Speaker 5 (01:15:49):
Sure we're committed to transparency. How many times have we
heard this?

Speaker 3 (01:15:54):
It'll be interesting though, to compare those two different third
party audits, right, See those numbers match up at all.
Glad to see that we're you know, we're hanging in
on this whole center point thing, holding them more accountable
than we ever have in the past. All right, six

I won't tell you.

Speaker 10 (01:19:46):
His name might be something like Burgham, Burgham. He's from
North Dakota. He's going to be announced tomorrow for a
very big position. So everybody's waiting there.

Speaker 7 (01:19:56):
He is, Hi, Doug, and we're on the lookout for
more big appointment today, also something to do with the
energy sector. Trump's first cabinet pick was Tom Homan as
borders are and now The New York Post reports that
thousands of ICE agents are about to be moved to
the field from behind the desk. Specifically, they'll be going
to sanctuary cities and after four years of the Biden

Harris open border policy. Border patrol agents are thrilled with
the return of President Trump. The difference in morale for
border agents was night and day.

Speaker 12 (01:20:28):
Some agents that were looking at already retiring or just
quitting the agency are now going to stay because President
Trump is going to be our new president.

In a letter to the state Senate, the Kickapoo Traditional
Tribe of Texas says they would look for full casino
gaming operations since they claim there's currently no control on
online lottery ticket sales.

Speaker 15 (01:21:51):
There's litigation and court fights ahead. If that's what the
tribe wants to do, they'll spend a fourteen doing it.
Maybe they'll win, maybe they won't.

Speaker 16 (01:21:58):
We'll see.

There is definitely room to do more. And by the way,
it's not just the United States. The EU has imposed
tariffs on evs coming into their region. The United States
undoubtedly will do the same, if not more, draconian tariffs.

Can you remember that the fired FEMA worker who said
that they didn't go to homes with Trump Yard signs.
Turns out according to and of course she got fired
for saying that. Well, it turns out that all she
did was speak the truth that FEMA routinely would ignore

(01:24:58):
holmes with people that who may be occupying it of
they're a different political persuasion. Here is that fired FEMA worker.
Her name is Mary Washington. Here's what she said about
how they avoided homes. They call it avoidance. That have
you know, things like Trump yard signs reaction by the way,

(01:25:19):
from Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody.

Speaker 43 (01:25:21):
They all alleged the thesis actions were made on my
own recognizans and that it was.

Speaker 9 (01:25:27):
From my own political advances.

Speaker 43 (01:25:30):
Unfortunately, it just so happened that the political hostility that
was encountered by my team, and I was on two
different teams service employment, they just so happened to have
the Trump campaign signage. FEMA always preachies avoidance first and
then de escalation, So this is not isolated.

Speaker 11 (01:25:51):
This is a colossal event of avoidance.

Speaker 9 (01:25:53):
This is this is part for the course, right.

Speaker 37 (01:25:55):
We keep having this messaging coming out of these agencies,
especially during the Biden Harrison administration, that you know, there's
nothing to see here. All of these allegations that we're
being partisan, or that we're not doing our jobs, or heck,
the border may not be secure, it's not true, and
then we find evidence.

Speaker 9 (01:26:10):
That it is true. And so you know, as with regards.

Speaker 37 (01:26:14):
To FEMA, they are being now presented with evidence that
they were treating people differently based on their partisan views.
That is an incredible discovery in the United States of America,
and so of course you're going to have to have
an investigation.

Speaker 9 (01:26:29):
We're not going to wait right now.

Speaker 37 (01:26:30):
Biden and Harris are still in office in Florida, We've
launched our own investigation. I think you're going to see
once we start uncovering things, you're going to start seeing
them say, well, maybe we did do this and it
was routine, but it was because of safety issues. You know,
that is what you're going to probably start hearing. You're
already seeing some insinuations to that. But this is unacceptable.
I commend Congress for looking into this. It's a bare

(01:26:54):
minimum we have to do that, and we'll consider to
consider all options on what Florida can do to defend
those that may have been targeted.

You are cheaper commute coming up every ten minutes on
the tens.

Speaker 5 (01:31:31):
Well you voted in Harris County.

Speaker 3 (01:31:32):
Well, actually, if you just voted in Texas, but in
particular Harris County for our intents and purposes, for our concerns,
would it shock you to know that if they wanted
to see how you voted, they could they could look
up how you voted David as an individual who you
voted for. I think all of us would like to
work under the idea that we're casting a secret ballot,

(01:31:54):
but evidently that's not necessarily the case. Joe Nixon joins
US Public Interest Legal Foundation that group file of the
lawsuit against Arascunny. Welcome, sir to the program. How did
we find out that this was going on?

Speaker 44 (01:32:07):
Actually, Jimmy, thanks for having me on. It's been a
well known secret for a long time. It's caused by
use of vote centers, and it's particularly pronounced with regard
to early people who early vote, which are now more
than half of us. So it's basically the cause is

(01:32:31):
the accountability. You have to account for every ballot in
every vote, and when you register go to an early
vote center, it records you electronically sends a signal out
to all the other early vote centers to know that
you're at that location. And so we know that a

(01:32:51):
person from a particular precinct may have voted Tuesday, the
first week of early voting, at one fifteen, we can
check to see on the ballot itself what precinct that
person was from. It matches, and you can you can
go back and match voters to ballots and ballots to votes.

Speaker 5 (01:33:12):
The public can because all of this.

Speaker 44 (01:33:15):
Information is subject to Freedom of Information Act request.

Speaker 3 (01:33:19):
Okay, so it's not just Harris County that could look
at how you voted. Others could look at how you
voted as well. Yes, of course, Holy.

Speaker 44 (01:33:26):
Moly, right, So that's a that's the main problem, and
it's been going on for years.

Speaker 3 (01:33:32):
So is anybody actually looking at how we voted? What
what purposes would they or intended uses or unintended uses?
Could be fine for something like this, I guess from
a few seriously, just from a commercial standpoint, if you
know how I voted, then you could target me with marketing.

Speaker 16 (01:33:50):
Right.

Speaker 44 (01:33:51):
Well, worse, the opportunity for malicious mischief is unbounded.

Speaker 3 (01:34:00):
Sang, Are you saying that, For example, I know, Jimmy
Brett that you voted all Republican and this is going
to be a close election. We need to go in
and change some of those votes.

Speaker 44 (01:34:11):
Well, it's like this. You want to raise, your boss
can look up how you voted. You want a promotion,
they can look up how you voted. A university can
determine how a person voted before they admit him into school.
You need a kidney transplant, Well let's see who the
kidney goes to based upon how you vote. We want
to extort money out of somebody, Well we're going to

(01:34:33):
look at your wife's ballot. It's the opportunity and that's
why it's so important to have.

Speaker 16 (01:34:40):
A secret ballot.

Speaker 44 (01:34:41):
So the fundamental question is, and that the question we
have brought to the court is does the United States
Constitution under the First and fourteenth Amendment provide for a
secret ballot? Do you have the right of a to
vote secretly. It's not explicit in the in the know
States Constitution is not set out anywhere in there. So

(01:35:03):
it's it's something that we it's a it's a it's
a case the first impression, it's an initial question and
it needs to be decided in the infirmative. Without a
secret without a secret ballot, we are all in trouble.

Speaker 3 (01:35:16):
So to protect that secret ballot, would you go in
front of the state legislature or would you go in
front of Congress?

Speaker 44 (01:35:22):
Well, uh, the leg the state legislature for such United
States Constitution has the has the initial opportunity to fix
the problem. But so like the Secretary of State of Texas,
who's in charge of all the voting, has issued a
uh an advisory asking all of the counties to withhold

(01:35:46):
personal identifying information from both the pole book and the ballots.
The problem is when you do that, you cannot then
audit the election. The public needs to be able to
audit the election. So if, for example, in Precinct four
ninety nine, if you know that fourteen hundred people voted,

(01:36:08):
you need to have fourteen hundred ballots from Precinct four
ninety nine.

Speaker 5 (01:36:14):
So the precinct.

Speaker 44 (01:36:15):
Information needs to be on the ballot. So the problem
is that the electronic recording of who voted and when
compared to the information on the ballot allows people and
the government to track people the ballots in vice versa,
and you have to be able to do that in

(01:36:38):
order to audit. You have to have this certain information
or an audit unless unless we go back to signing
in on your precinct in only allowing for voters in precincts,
because then you only have one precinct book and it's
just a different process of recording who vot.

Speaker 3 (01:37:00):
I got you. We're run out of time. Joe, I
want to first of all, thank you for what you're doing,
and please keep us posted on on how this is going.

Speaker 4 (01:39:08):
Thank you, Jimmy.

Speaker 7 (01:39:08):
Good morning everybody. It's seven point thirty two on KTRH.
Our top story.

Speaker 27 (01:39:12):
The economy has made significant progress toward our dual mandate
goals of maximum employment and stable prices. The labor market
remains in solid condition.

Speaker 7 (01:39:22):
That is Fedchair Jerom Pal who's continuing to try and
convince you that the economic pain that you're feeling because
of inflation isn't real. Here are the facts inflation rose
in October, and it's closer to being at three percent
than is two percent goal. After rising for six straight weeks,
mortgage rates dropped slightly to six point seven eight percent.

(01:39:45):
So why haven't rates come down with the federal reserves
to rate cuts.

Speaker 28 (01:39:49):
People don't believe the Fed is actually getting inflation under control,
and so they're demanding higher interest rates to compensate for
the inflation that they know is coming.

Speaker 7 (01:40:00):
Heritage Foundation economist dj an Tony says, the markets are
now trying to figure out how things are going to
look over the next four years. Because of that, we've
got continued losses in overnight training with now futures down
more than one hundred and fifty points. A warning about
the rise of home title thefts here in Harris County.
It's led to a lawsuit seeking a million dollars in damages.

Speaker 29 (01:40:23):
Home title theft is a growing problem. Somebody will go
in and file a deed to your home in their
name or somebody else's name, without anybody knowing about it,
and before you figure out what's going on, your home
is indeeded to somebody else.

Speaker 7 (01:40:39):
KTRH Legal analyst Chris Triniko there it's seven thirty three
on KTRH. Another lawsuit is filed, this one against Harris
County over the voting machines used in the election. J.
Christian Adams with the Public Interest Legal Foundation says the
machines allow officials to seat how you voted.

Speaker 30 (01:40:58):
Texas officials know this is happen. This is not a
secret to anybody who's in the know in election administration.
They don't have a full time pick for it. And
we're bringing a case to protect the right to a
secret ballot because right now in Texas you don't have one.

Speaker 7 (01:41:13):
Adam says it's a clear violation of the First and
the fourteenth Amendments. In Florida, last night, President elect Donald
Trump made more cabinet picks.

Speaker 4 (01:41:21):
Official Robert F.

Speaker 45 (01:41:23):
Kennedy Junior's nomination comes as no surprise. There were reports
during the campaign that Kennedy could play a role in
Trump's administration if he endorsed the former president, who is,
of course, now the president elect. President elect Trump also
picked former Georgia Congressman Doug Collins as Secretary of Veterans' Affairs,
his defense lawyer Todd Blanche as Deputy Attorney General, and

(01:41:43):
North Dakota Governor Doug Bergham as Interior Secretary.

Speaker 7 (01:41:46):
Madeline Rivera reporting the left continues to throw a tantrum
over some of these picks, especially Matt Gates as US
Attorney General, but JAXA's Congressman Ship Royce says this is
exactly what Washington needs.

Speaker 5 (01:42:00):
Obviously.

Speaker 32 (01:42:00):
President Trump has been sending up some some nominees that
I think would be disruptive to the status quote. You know,
these are outside the box folks that are coming up
here to you know, challenge the status quot drain the swamp.

Speaker 9 (01:42:10):
I think that's critically important.

Speaker 4 (01:42:12):
Roy on Fox Now.

Speaker 7 (01:42:14):
One of the reasons Trump won last week was because
Kamala Harris had radical opinions, and even though those ideas
were rejected, the left is doubling down on them.

Speaker 12 (01:42:25):
They will not give up this fight, and the main
fight that they want to.

Speaker 28 (01:42:28):
Fight is on the identity stuff. The reactions to Trump.

Speaker 7 (01:42:33):
Political analyst Chris Johnson telling KTRH that the Democrats are
now beholden to the activist class that now runs their
party seven thirty five on KTRH, there is yet another
sign that Trump is going to be good, not just
for the national economy, but the Texas Economy and You
Robert Half survey found that seventy nine percent of local

(01:42:53):
employers hiring for the holidays.

Speaker 33 (01:42:56):
Forty nine percent of these Houston companies are actively hiring
for new permanent positions that they'd like to get filled
as we go into the back half of the year,
or for sure to.

Speaker 28 (01:43:05):
Start the new year.

Speaker 7 (01:43:07):
Robert Haffs Brandy Clark says that now that the election
is over, many companies are looking ahead to next year,
with the highest demand by the way and holiday hires
being in marketing, creative, legal, and technical. There's some new
research that shows that nearly twenty percent of office managers
have considered quitting because of the stress involved with managing

(01:43:27):
their gen Z employees. Gabrielle Bochet of The Millennial Solution
says her generation literally has become their parents.

Speaker 22 (01:43:35):
Millennials are becoming managers are getting a taste of their
own medicine, of what it's like to hire another generation
that feels almost foreign to them.

Speaker 7 (01:43:44):
More than twenty five percent of managers say they would
avoid hiring a gen Z employee if they could, and
half of them said they already fired a gen Z worker.
Seven p thirty seven on KTRH. Former HBD officer Gerald
Goins is seeking a new trial after his murder conviction

Speaker 3 (01:44:58):
On the Houston's boring news is running to the middle.
Looks like the LA Times. Is you think the Houston
Chronicle will.

Speaker 15 (01:45:06):
No.

Speaker 3 (01:45:08):
I don't either, but you may have heard Cliff mentioned
it earlier in one of his newscasts that the Los
Angeles Times, their ownership, has come out and said that
they are going to revamp their editorial board to make
it more fair and balanced. Maybe sensing that for the
next four years newspapers may be a tough sell if

(01:45:29):
they don't, or maybe they just are waking up to
the idea that America is much more mainstream, even in California.
Maybe they looked at that California electoral map we talked
about with all that read all over it and decided, well, maybe,
you know, maybe we're not serving all of our constituency
by being so far left. I mean, you'd like to
think they can figure that out. Greg Guttfeld on his

(01:45:51):
show last night, had comedian Jim Brewer on and they
were talking about that the Times are.

Speaker 46 (01:45:57):
A change in Jim, I'm gonna give you three great
things happened. The LA Times is replacing its entire editorial
board to more closely reflect all opinions after Donald Trump's
landslide when Hollywood claims it's gonna be more welcoming to
conservative actors and less woke, and apparently the view is
desperate to find a Trumper to join.

Speaker 5 (01:46:17):
How long do you think.

Speaker 4 (01:46:18):
This is gonna last?

Speaker 47 (01:46:20):
But it'd be great if it's if it's true, Yeah,
it really would be great. I mean, first they should
start with uh, I mean the times just anyone walking
in the first thing we need to ask you is
just what's a woman?

Speaker 5 (01:46:34):
Yeah, let's let's start with that.

Speaker 9 (01:46:36):
Okay, you can define that.

Speaker 47 (01:46:38):
Let's go and as far as you know what, as
far as movies.

Speaker 5 (01:46:43):
Again, common sense, I had nothing.

Speaker 4 (01:46:46):
If you gay, knock yourself out?

Speaker 9 (01:46:49):
What you do behind closer?

Speaker 38 (01:46:51):
I'm tired of watching a Disney and they got it
at the end of to Star Wars my last Star
Wars and begin see why do I why is it shake?

Speaker 11 (01:47:01):
Like?

Speaker 5 (01:47:02):
Wow, let's make out?

Speaker 9 (01:47:05):
Why why are we watching? It's shoved in your face?
It's an agenda?

Speaker 5 (01:47:11):
Good let them all, you know. I'd like to see
on the on.

Speaker 47 (01:47:15):
The view, what would be like Roseanne and like Candace
right out of it again?

Speaker 5 (01:47:22):
Roseanne?

Speaker 46 (01:47:23):
Why is the is the most inspired choice?

Speaker 16 (01:47:29):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (01:47:30):
I agree?

Speaker 3 (01:47:30):
With Roseanne instead of whoopee on the view. That could
be ratings gold seven forty times for traffic and whether it's.

Speaker 16 (01:47:38):
In the ring.

Speaker 3 (01:47:39):
Oh yeah, little mud wrestling skuy Mike, No no, no,
I mean like political mud slinging wrestling.

Speaker 6 (01:47:45):
Okay, now now we're better, yes, thank you. Oh by
the way, soundy alarm, Jimmy, soundy alarm, we gonna get
our big boss Eddie Martini off the West Park tollway.
Eddie get off the west part now all right, So
here we've got this accident. It's mineer. Everybody's okay. West
Park came bound right before the Southwest Free. It's even
over to the side. I don't know why we're scunched
up from fundering before that. You've got more breaks at
Highway six and there's at least a twenty two minute

(01:48:07):

We've taken a suspected terrorist off the streets of Houston, Texas.

Speaker 42 (01:53:19):
Twenty eight year old in Nas Sayed charged with one
count of attempting to provide material support to the terrorist
organization ISIS.

Speaker 8 (01:53:26):
By his own admission, planning a terrorist attack on US
soil from his apartment here in southwest Houston.

Speaker 42 (01:53:35):
Sayot has been on the radar for the FBI Houston's
Joint Terrorism task for since twenty seventeen. They say early
investigations revealed Sayad frequently viewed ISIS literature and attempted to
create ISIS propaganda.

Speaker 8 (01:53:48):
He held a deep affinity for high ranking ISIS personnel,
and even ordered custom propaganda to outwardly show his support
for ISIS.

Speaker 42 (01:53:59):
The FBI uncovering multiple social media accounts they alleged Sayad
used to display his support for ISIS. They also say
he admitted to researching how to conduct an attack on
military recruiting centers, offering his home as a sanctuary for
ISIS operatives, and wanting to use explosives to commit a
mass killing in Houston.

Speaker 8 (01:54:18):
He bragged that he would commit a nine to eleven

Speaker 42 (01:54:46):
If convicted, said faces up to twenty years in federal
prison and a two hundred and fifty thousand dollars fine.

Speaker 3 (01:54:53):
Up to twenty years for a terrorist sympathizer would be
terrorists who, if he had the opportunity, would blow a
bunch of people up. That does that seem like a
little bit of lenient possible sentencing? And listen, I understand,
you know part of the problem with us, you know,

(01:55:14):
not feeling comfortable with the fact that he's been on
the loose here for seven years and you know he's
obviously they're watching him, but they're still he's on the loose.
You know, you watch enough crime shows you figure out that, really,
when you get right down to it, it's very difficult
to arrest somebody for what they might do. You really

(01:55:35):
can only arrest somebody for what they have done. And
that's problematic when it comes to terrorism, because if we
could have arrested the nine to eleven terrorists before they
actually got on board those planes, you know, almost four
thousand people would still be alive. The World Trade Center

(01:55:57):
would have never been hit, the Pentagon would never been hit,
that plain would would not have crashed landed in Pennsylvania.
If you could just stop them before they actually do it.
I guess we stopped this guy, but it remains to
be seen how willing we are to punish him. All right, listen,

(01:56:18):
you have a great weekend. I hope you do, enjoy
the weather. See you Monday morning, bright and early, five am.
And I'll see you the Sam from four on AM
