in the Senate. It now moves on to the House.
A lot of us a little surprised that the Republicans
didn't cave and coming up to five to eight. So

the same eight Democrats that broke ranks on Sunday voted
with Republicans again.

It really wasn't difficult well for me personally, compared to
the forty two million Americans now that they had their
snap suspended.

Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman on Fox. The bill would fund
the government through January. Democrats get nothing on Obamacare. President
Trump declared a total victory over Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.

Speaker 8 (02:19):
He thought he could break the Republicans, and the Republicans
broke him.

Speaker 5 (02:23):
Adding that Republicans have quote good policy unquote. The big
surprise to a lot of people was that there was
not the Republicans who caved this time.

And so we asked Republicans strategist Matt Locke, what happened?

Donald Trump happened? I mean really, in the end, you
have a field general and Donald Trump that told the
Republican Party were not doing things as usual.

But there was also something that was usual.

The phone line started burning up to Capitol Hill because
these big healthcare companies, they liked the gravy train. It
was a special interest in the lobby.

If there's an outstanding warrant from another city, another state,
or ICE, then they're going to hold that person turn
them over to whoever.

Bill King with the Baker Institute says Whitmyer is simply
focused on city issues, not performative resistance.

national issues. Like immigration, healthcare, and all these things elected
officials who want to go out and do.

I didn't serve myself. You know, I was kind of

part of that end of the Vietnam War era, you know,
just you know, too young to serve there and just
just never enlisted.

My son Brian served in the Navy. He was in
Operation Desert Storm and brought back more than a few
unpleasant memories with him. So he was in the Navy.
My father was in the Navy. It's funny because my
dad was still in high school and he was seventeen
when he signed up, and he never really saw any

action per se. He got as far as Florida, where
he learned to hate lobster. Only only the Navy could
make lobster so bad that you don't want to eat lobster.
He hated lobster. Evidentally, they had a lot of Florida lobster,
and the one one story he did tell me, because

you know, that generation didn't talk a lot about their service.
But the one story he did tell me was how
their ship they were patrolling the Florida coast, but they
were part of the Homeland Operation Protect the Coast of
the United States, and they were stationed in Florida and
they were an Italian sub that they spotted an Italian sub. Well,
actually the Italian sub spotted them, came up, they're they're

waving the white flag, and my dad was so embarrassed
that they ended up getting a medal for capturing an
Italian sub.

Uh.

Because you know, all all the all the Italians of
this up, all they wanted to do was surrender. They
had They weren't interested in fighting anybody or anything. Please
take us easiest, easiest surrender, maybe the history of the war.

things back up and get things back to. Normal but

it's not going to be an overnight thing getting back to.
Normal don't think. THAT i mean things didn't go to hell.
Overnight they're not going to get fixed overnight. Either here's
a Far our air traffic controller who talks a little
bit about you know how it takes a while to
wind this stuff up and wind this stuff.
