have kind of a nice ring to it. Details in
the minutes ahead. You're in Houston's Morning News first, or

Speaker 4 (00:42):
Let's go all right, I've got bad news on the
Southwest Freeway.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
This is a complete shutdown.
Speaker 4 (00:47):
Jennifer from Channel eleven text to me on the way
in and here we are looking at this shot here
it's all lanes blocks Southwest Freeway.
Speaker 2 (00:54):
I will tell you it is fatal.
Speaker 4 (00:56):
A supposed to be an injection to nothing good's happening here.
That's about all I'm going to do on that this morning.
But inbound, you've got the backups after the looplitz do
not get on the Southwest Freeway because that feeder the
lights don't work very well. They work, but they suck.
Do the Kdie Freeway instead. I'm skymik on a Generators

Speaker 2 (01:38):
It's time now for the news.
Speaker 5 (01:40):
Here's Cliff Sanders, Thank you, Jimmy, and good morning everybody,
five oh one on kt RH.
Speaker 6 (01:45):
We are inheriting a difficult situation from the outgoing administration,
and they're trying everything they can to make it more difficult.
Speaker 5 (01:54):
Donald Trump at mar A Lago yesterday, the President elect
didn't just talk about the transition from Joe Biden. He
doubled down on owning Greenland. The Panama Canal and Canada
being the fifty first state. By the way, Biden's eleventh
hour regulations, including the banning of offshore drilling in most
federal waters, did not go over well with Texas Senator
(02:17):
Ted Cruz.
Speaker 7 (02:18):
Taking six hundred and twenty five million acres of offshore
drilling and trying to de ban the drilling there, which
is just stealing from the American people.
Speaker 5 (02:28):
Cruise with ktr Each's Sean Hannity, and there's this. The
Biden administration wants to lower nicotine levels in cigarettes before
they leave office. Texas Congressman Ronnie Jackson says that doesn't
make a lot of sense.
Speaker 8 (02:42):
If you decrease the amount of nicotine in a given cigarette,
people are just going to smoke more cigarettes. And it's
not the nicotine in the cigarettes it causes cancer. It's
the tar and all the other carcinogens in there.
Speaker 5 (02:53):
A former ATF official telling Fox that this move would
effectively ban cigarettes and would be a quote.
Speaker 2 (02:59):
Gift to the cartels.
Speaker 5 (03:02):
So obviously Trump has a lot to fix in the
first one hundred days of his administration are going to
be crucial to getting it done.
Speaker 9 (03:10):
In coming officials say they won't be wasting any of
those first one hundred days.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
Day one is going to be action packed.
Speaker 10 (03:16):
What you will see as the President work quickly and
aggressively to implement the policy that he campaigned on.
Speaker 9 (03:22):
Incoming Deputy Chief of Staff James Blair told Fox there's
a lot Trump can get done in that time with
executive orders.
Speaker 10 (03:28):
Securing the border, unleashing American energy, getting wokeness out of
the military, and restoring it to being the world's most
lethal and well trained fighting force.
Speaker 9 (03:36):
Blair also said he's hopeful that Congress will work with
Trump to quickly advance his agenda. Ethan Beginnon News Radio
seven forty KTRH.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
Thank you, Ethan.
Speaker 5 (03:45):
The Republican led Senate makes a move on the Trump
cabinet sooner rather than later. They approved committee assignments so
confirmation hearings can start next week now, while the Biden
DOJ is still prosecuting Trump supporters will January sixth. It
turns out left wing groups are planning their own insurrection
for Inauguration Day, organizing a day of protest across the country.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
It's ridiculous, it's absurd, it's ridiculous.
Speaker 7 (04:12):
I don't know how the American people put up with.
Speaker 5 (04:15):
This, Yeah, Rudy Giuliani's reaction on Newsmax. Former President Jimmy
Carter lies in state this morning at the Capitol Rotunda.
Among those paying tribute yesterday, House Speaker Mike Johnson.
Speaker 11 (04:26):
President Carter's life, his selfless service, his fight against cancer,
and his lasting contributions to his fellow man are all
truly remarkable.
Speaker 5 (04:36):
Carter state funeral is tomorrow at the Washington National Cathedral
five h four now on KTRH. Texas Governor Greg Abbott
has increased the readiness level of state operations. With a
winter storm impacting tomorrow, Orcott is not warning of any
grit issues.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
We're only going to get rain here.
Speaker 5 (04:55):
The governor will hold a news conference at ten thirty
this morning time. Three Houston firefighters continued to recover after
suffering severe burns during a fire in Sunnyside yesterday.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
They came the.
Speaker 12 (05:07):
Savus not to get hurt or anything like that, and
I just feel bad for him.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
I want them to be okay. More than anything in
the world.
Speaker 5 (05:15):
That woman with our TV partner channel to the firefighters
suffered burns on their hands, legs, and neck. There's a
dangerous situation that's developed in Los Angeles, California this morning,
as three wildfires have forced evacuations, zero percent contained.
Speaker 13 (05:32):
Quite frankly, you know, there's not a lot we can
do in terms of suppressing them once they're ignited. You know,
our main focus is getting people and lives out of
the way of these fires.
Speaker 5 (05:43):
That's Orange County Fire Chief Brian Fantasy five h six. Now,
the manhunt continues in Fort Bend County for the man
accused of setting his home on fire in September. Lorena
Martinezy is. This started as a car chase from a restaurant.
Speaker 14 (05:58):
We end up losing him. The calls as this is
going on, and he is telling me he's going to
kill me and burn down my house.
Speaker 5 (06:05):
US marshalls are not sure if Luis Adrian al Varano
is in Texas, to Mexico or somewhere else. Former Harris
County DA Kim Ogg. We've told you she's now working
for the lone Republican on Commissioner's Court, Tom Ramsey. But
while the local newspaper wants you to think she's joined
the Republican party, others say it's just too soon to
(06:27):
make that call.
Speaker 15 (06:28):
Right now, kim Auga is probably in a gray area
where she has one foot outside of the Democratic Party,
but not two feet.
Speaker 5 (06:37):
Rice is Mark Jones after losing her primary to Shawn
tier Ogg cross party lines to endorse Texas Senator Ted
Cruz last November.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
Five oh six.
Speaker 5 (06:48):
NASA, which has been hit with delays in the Artemis
Moon program, while currently working on a plan to bring
back samples of dirt from Mars. They say they should
be able to get that done by the twenty thirties.
Speaker 16 (07:01):
I'm talking about utilizing commercial partners. SpaceX and Blue Origin
have already been ones that have expressed an interest.
Speaker 2 (07:09):
But it could be others as well.
Speaker 5 (07:13):
But this comes with a cost, as Administrator Bill Nelson says,
they'll need at least three hundred million more dollars from
Congress this year alone just to get the project started.
And finally, the Rockets blow out Washington one thirty five
to one twelve, they visit the Grizzlies tomorrow night. I'm
Cliff Saunders on Houston's news, weather and Traffic station KTRH.
Speaker 1 (07:35):
More with Jimmy Barrett and the Houston Morning News teams.
Speaker 3 (07:39):
This is Houston's Morning News. Well, here's what's on my
mind this morning. Why do we call it the Golf
of Mexico. Why isn't the Why isn't it the Golf
of America? Does Trump have a point? Five oh eight
is our time here in Houston's morning news. So the
man gives a seventy minute press conference, and this morning,
if you will, if you were to google Gulf of Mexico,
(08:02):
the only thing that will come up is all the
stories about President Trump talking about renaming the Gulf of
Mexico Gulf of America. It's his way of I don't
know if you're serious or not, but it's his way
of sending a shot across the bow of Mexico. Right,
what have you done to deserve having a golf named
after you? I mean, you're not cooperating with us, You're
not giving us any help. This is what Trump does.
(08:24):
You remember this, right, This is what he does. But
if you want to make a case for actually renaming it,
let's think about this for a second. First of all,
how do you think the Golf of Mexico got its name? Well,
it was first explored, It was discovered by Spanish explorer
in fifteen nineteen. I think it officially got the name
(08:44):
sometime in the sixteen hundreds. Think of what North America
looked like in the sixteen hundred. You had you had,
of course, Mexico controlled by Spain. You had the southwestern
United States Texas controlled by Spain. All those all those
areas were Spanish territories. Okay, you can make a case
(09:04):
for calling of the Gulf of Mexico. What about now
the vast majority of the border of the Gulf of
Mexico is occupied by the United States of America. You
have a little portion of Mexico, Cuba's there, but mainly
the United States of America. So why not call Gulf
of America geographically? Probably makes more sense. Five ten time
(09:29):
for traffic and weather together. You're so triggered by that too,
I know it.
Speaker 17 (09:32):
Oh my God, is a racist.
Speaker 18 (09:34):
He wants to call it in America.
Speaker 2 (09:36):
That's what's so fun about all this, guy, Mike.
Speaker 4 (09:37):
Let's really make come on, let's call it the Gulf
of Texas.
Speaker 2 (09:40):
All right.
Speaker 4 (09:41):
Southwest Freeway is nothing good happening here at Kirby.
Speaker 2 (09:45):
This is all lanes blocked. What you need to know
is don't go there.
Speaker 4 (09:48):
Let let's don't do the Southwest inside of it now
if you're outside of the loop, you're fine. Fact do
your usual thing and then hop on to six ten
and then go up to it in the Katie Freeway
or the south Loop, Terry, since your hazardous either way,
let's don't do the Southwest Freeway. They dropped at two thirty.

have other deals they have to do there.
Speaker 2 (10:14):

Isn't that a sweet start in the morning.
Speaker 2 (10:44):
It's special, that's for sure.
Speaker 20 (10:46):
Well, it's a good way to start the day because
we've got some rain headed our way. And yes, we'd
like to stay above freezing before the rain clears out,
and we will. It's areas of North Texas that are
going to get the snow and the ice from this
next storm. Today we'll be dealing with some clouds, no
big deal, A little bit cooler today, mid upper forties.
Speaker 2 (11:09):
Overnight, we're dry.
Speaker 20 (11:10):
Temperatures generally above freezing, though some of our northern suburbs
may be flirting with freezing. There's rain on the way tomorrow.
It's mainly in the afternoon and tomorrow night, and briefly Friday.
Looks like we could get some very heavy rain too.
That area of low pressure to the south of US,
a slow moving system, so a soggy afternoon tomorrow, one
(11:34):
hundred percent chance that you're going to get wet at
some point tomorrow. Load of mid forties, thirty percent chances
some showers Friday before we dry out. Still cloudy, still cold,
only in the load to mid forties Friday, but Mother
Nature has timed this out with sunshine for the weekend

Speaker 3 (14:57):
No Susie go back to slave. Susie is over, at
least at least did for now for most of us.
For most of us, there's still some people out there,
though especially the Hollywood crowd. By the way, you see
all the fires going on in California. I'll get I'll
get to that story in just a bit. But anyway,
back to the wokeness. Uh, there are some people on
(15:17):
the left coast, apply named by the way, who still
haven't figured out why the election turned out the way
it did. Bill Maher's talking to actor John Cryer, who's
three three and a half men or three I forget.
Speaker 2 (15:31):
Where the show was, you know, the one? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (15:33):
Anyway, John Cryer, who's as bald as a cube ball
these days would have doll's hair. Anyway, Bill Maher's talking
to him about the election, and they're going back and
forth about why Democrats lost the election so badly. You'll
hear that in some reaction to it all from Greg Guttfeld,
who's back from vacation.
Speaker 22 (15:54):
The trans people in my life feel at this point
really right. Not only was you know, this election was
the outrage cycle of this of this particular election targeted them, but.
Speaker 2 (16:11):
It was accepted.
Speaker 23 (16:12):
But the reason why of the Democrats shouldn't have blown it?
Speaker 22 (16:15):
Well, I I you know again, so you know, you
can blame them all you want.
Speaker 2 (16:20):
I believe I.
Speaker 22 (16:22):
Believe again that there was a worldwide reaction to the
inflation bump.
Speaker 2 (16:27):
After COVID you telling you, and you'll lose the next
one too.
Speaker 9 (16:32):
A couple of people trying to tell it like.
Speaker 24 (16:34):
It is brick Well, it's interesting again.
Speaker 2 (16:36):
Trump effects.
Speaker 24 (16:37):
Suddenly it's okay to say what you think, see and
feel and not parrot.
Speaker 2 (16:42):
What people told you.
Speaker 24 (16:44):
Both of these guys, Carville and mar you know, they
did predict Trump would lose and Kamala would win. I
believe they were saying what they were told as opposed
to what they saw.
Speaker 2 (16:56):
They they put too much faith.
Speaker 24 (16:58):
In their political allies, though it ran counter to their
own common sense.
Speaker 2 (17:02):
It's kind of weird because you're seeing this everywhere.
Speaker 24 (17:05):
It's weird that the Rotherham mass rape story is now
suddenly everywhere.
Speaker 2 (17:10):
It's been around for ten years, but it's everywhere.
Speaker 24 (17:12):
It's almost as though people aren't scared anymore of talking
about things.
Speaker 2 (17:16):
The Trump effect is.
Speaker 24 (17:17):
Simple, the freedom to believe what you see as opposed
to what people tell you. No, a man cannot be
a woman. Kamala Harris not qualified to run. Biden cognitively
a wreck, streets aren't safe, the borders a security threat
before if you said that, the media would have done
something to you. They would have put you in the
pro Trump camp, and that was really scary for people,
(17:42):
especially celebrities.
Speaker 2 (17:43):
So that fear no longer carries weight.
Speaker 24 (17:46):
Because who's been proven right? And now people are saying
things that they normally wouldn't have said.
Speaker 3 (17:52):
You know, we are saying, well, I don't think I'm
saying anything I wouldn't normally have said, but there are
other people out there who feel more free to talk,
and that's a good thing. Even Mark Zuckerberg's out there
talking about freedom and speech on with Beta and Facebook.
I mean, of course he's just running to the right
because the right's now in charge. I think Mark Zuckerberg.
Mark Zuckerberg's only chasing one thing, and that's the almighty dollar.
(18:15):
That's so don't think that like he's somehow somehow changed
deep down inside, He's the same person. He's just reacting
to the way the political winds are currently blowing. Five

It's five thirty two on KGRAR. Top story is the
Trump transition. As Telsea Gabbard, Donald Trump's pick to be
Director of National Intelligence, says it's urgent she'd be confirmed quickly.
Speaker 27 (21:10):
There are a number of serious national security threats that
our country faces, and it's important that we all stand
together to put the entrance of the safety, security, and
freedom of the American people first.
Speaker 5 (21:24):
Gabbard met with Alabama's Tommy Tuberville. Meantime, the President elect
warned that humas there will be held to pay if
hostages eld captives. Since October seventh aren't released. President, letting
folks know, whether it be our neighbors, whether it be
our adversaries, whether it be people who are causing additional
security threats in the Western hemisphere or even in the
(21:45):
Arctic Circle, that America is back, America's standing in the
world is back, and we're not going to be pushovers
any longer, Trump advisor Jason Miller. According to a Newsmax reports,
American intelligence officials believe only twenty hostages are still alive.
Speaker 2 (22:02):
Well.
Speaker 5 (22:02):
Trump will also have to deal with Iran, which of
course is hamasa's financial backer. National security analyst Harry causianisis
Trump contained them once and can do it again.
Speaker 23 (22:12):
Trump is really going to have to put a line
in the sand. He's going to have to tell countries, Look,
you're either with us, you're with the West, you're with
the democracies. But if you want to partner with Iran,
if you want to start getting cheap oil from them,
you're not going to be a friend of the United
States anymore. And some countries are going to have to
make some very difficult choices.
Speaker 2 (22:27):
He says.
Speaker 5 (22:27):
Trump needs to reimpose sanctions and freeze Iron's assets. Meantime,
you might have missed this. The Biden Whitehouse just made
a stunning and chilling admission about China.
Speaker 28 (22:38):
With National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan telling the Wall Street
Journal that China has the ability to hack the US
power grid and close our ports.
Speaker 29 (22:48):
Americans have to be prepared for China taking down our infrastructure.
Speaker 28 (22:52):
That is China expert Gordon Chang, who also told ktr.
Speaker 29 (22:56):

our own for a many months, because that is what
China is planning for us.
Speaker 28 (23:05):
Chang says, hopefully that plan will change once Trump takes office.

Speaker 5 (23:13):
It's now five point thirty four and at the border,
another illegal alien caravan is trying to get here before
Trump takes office. This one with up to two thousand people,
left southern Mexico last Friday. In DC, the House of
Representatives passes the Lake and Riley Act, which would require
immigration authorities to detain illegals who are charged with theft.
Speaker 2 (23:36):
Now it goes to the Senate.
Speaker 30 (23:38):
By Parson support that you saw in the House I
am really hopeful we'll carry on into the Senate, and
we're already seeing good traction from our Senate colleagues interested
in coming on board.
Speaker 5 (23:48):
Alabama's Katie Britt. Only forty eight Democrats voted for the
bill five point thirty five. In Austin, the legislative session
begins next week. State Representative Briscoe Caine files a bill
that would block events like the Texas State Fare from
banning firearms.
Speaker 31 (24:04):
Also fifteen, it requires government contracts include a provision that
protects the rint of licensing gun holders to carry in
government property, ensure that private entities using taxpayer on property
cannot ban license scary in places where it's legally allowed.
Speaker 2 (24:16):
Kane says it's Second Amendment protection.
Speaker 5 (24:19):
He expects this to pass and he'll join Jimmy on
Houston's Warning News at six twenty. There's also another attempt
in Austin to get rid of daylight savings time.
Speaker 32 (24:28):
When you do change, you have trouble sleeping. I think
you have productivity issues at work and at school. You
can have kids going to school in the dark, early
in the morning, waiting at bus stops in the dark.
Speaker 5 (24:39):
State Senator Jose Menendez says that he thinks Texas voters
should have a say in this. Texas Senator May's Middleton.
State Senator May's Middleton filed the latest proposal. President adelect
Trump is also talked about wanting to get rid of
daylight saving time five point thirty six. Looking at your money,
overnight training is up across the board after a down
(24:59):
day yesterday that saw the DAL lose one hundred and
seventy eight points, and now that we're in January, Yeah,
it's time to think about your taxes.
Speaker 33 (25:07):
Well, just get the documents together as soon as you
can so you can find them come tax time. And
Jackson Hewitt manager Valerie Brooks also says, if you don't
pay all the money you owe on April fifteenth, you'll
get penalties at five percent per month. But there is
something you can do in that case, ask for an
FTA waiver.
Speaker 12 (25:25):
It's a first time abatement penalty waiver that they can
apply for if it's their first time and they're in
compliance with all of the for the past three years,
they've been in compliance and they don't have any significant penalties.

Speaker 5 (25:40):
And Oil futures this morning, by the way, are training
for more than seventy five dollars a barrel. The climate
change crowd, well, they want you to think global warming
is getting worse, but what's really getting worse is their
political rhetoric.
Speaker 34 (25:58):
One meteorologists dubbed it climate ambulance chasing, which is exactly
what it is. A bad weather event hits, a blizzard,
a tornado hits and tornado alley, a hurricane hits and
hurricane season, and they claim we caused it because of
our SUVs, because of our cold plans, because of our
air conditioning.
Speaker 5 (26:14):
Mark Morano with the Climate Depot says the claims that
the cold weather today or hurricane barrel are the result
of climate change is just an attempt to turn weather
events into political activism. Five point thirty seven. The Astros
reportedly lose justin Verlander to the Giants for a one

Of course, you got to get to Arlington in the

Speaker 1 (26:50):
This is Houston's Morning News with Jimmy Barrett.
Speaker 3 (26:56):
Oh, it's almost that time of the year for the dude.
They do show up outside of the Crooker. I don't know,
have I ever.
Speaker 2 (27:02):
Seen them outside of Achib I'm not sure if.
Speaker 3 (27:03):
I've ever seen them outside of Achib Always outside of Croker,
maybe Walmart, But they'll be out there selling their cookies.
Can I just order them online and cut out the middleman?
I guess the problem with that is the way this
works is is each Girl Scout troop gets credit for
the cookies they sell, and therefore, you know, it has
(27:27):
a has an impact on the bottom line for that
particular troop, Right, So that's why they go out there
and they sell the cookies. I mean, they don't really
sell the cookies. The cookies they sell themselves. If you
like Girl Scout cookies, This year's flavors are eventul easy
for me to say, adventure Folds. That's an indulgent browning
(27:47):
inspired cookie talked with caramel flavored cream and a hint
of sea salt. My, they're getting sophisticated caramel chocolate chip,
caramel Delights otherwise known as Samoa's. That's the peanut butter
sandwich cookie, Girl Scouts, some moors. This is the last
year for some mors if you like those, they're retiring
some oars after this year. Lemonades, lemon ups, peanut butter
(28:11):
patties otherwise known as tag alongs, Thin mints Hello, by
the way, best eating out of the freezer, thin mints,
toast Yay, toffee Tastic, and treefoils which are short bread
the short bread cookies. Those are the cookies this year,
and the price is up to six bucks a box.
And yes, I guess you can order them on the
(28:31):
line if you want, but you know the Girl Scouts
will be out there pretty soon five forty times for
traffic and weather together.
Speaker 2 (28:36):
What no, no, what, oh no, no, strike that from them.
Speaker 4 (28:38):
We do not order Girl Scout cookies online because you
have to get it from the Girls Scouts themselves and
their sponsors and their moms, because it builds character and
gives them gumption to be out there selling so.
Speaker 3 (28:50):
Well, there's a lack of gumption on the plant. So
I'll support you on this.
Speaker 4 (28:52):
Guy's right that we want them to be like we
were when we were kids. All right, Southwest Freeway, big
wreck cold. It's a total shut down at Kirby. Now,
got your help here. Seven one three two one two
t ips.
Speaker 35 (29:02):
Dude, Guy, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike coming in from Sugarland. Dude,
I got to give you a correction. The complete shutdown
at Kirby is actually southbound and it's not northbound. I
just passed it and shut down is on the south
Sound side.
Speaker 2 (29:16):
All right.
Speaker 4 (29:17):
Now, This is why you should still listen to KTRH,
even though sometimes I'm stupid and mess up in front
of the whole world. And that's because I have you
to back me up. No other media outlet has this
much backup. So even when I mess up, I've got
you to fix it. Seven one three two one two tips.
I've got some other calls. I'm guessing that's what it's about. Also,
I tend outbound. That is road construction, that some overnight stuff.
(29:40):
It should be gone by now, but no, it's still there.
From the loop six ' ten back out to John Ralston.
This is also messing up your ramp truckers coming down
from Wallaceville. Uh So I'll make sure the rest of
the media also knows it's outbound, not inbound, and that's Katie.
I'm sorry, Southwest Free Well, let's take the Katie as
your alternate. Thank you so much for the correction, sky
Mike and the Generator Supercenter dot Com Traffic Center.
Speaker 3 (30:01):
From our katrh Generator super Center twenty four hour whether
centaer Terry Smith is here, And I guess we're pretty
lucky with this upcoming winter storm Terry because I'm noticing
that the San Antonio is talking about school closures out there,
so that systems that the frozen stuff evidently is dipping
a little bit towards the south, but not in our
direction at this point.
Speaker 15 (30:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 20 (30:23):
Well, what's interesting is right now San Antonio doesn't have
any weather alert, so I'm not quite sure what the
school closures would be for.
Speaker 2 (30:33):
The weather alerts.
Speaker 20 (30:34):
Are in West Texas like El Paso, and then further
to the north where the winter storm watches in winter
storm warnings are in e fact, Dallas is in one
of those precarious spots where they're going to get something
possibly a couple inches of snow, possibly some freezing rain
as well, and you know, if the forecast doesn't play out,
(30:54):
it may end up just being all rain. At this point,
that storm doesn't really exist. It's the area we have
low pressure. It's well to the west that hasn't even
made its way into Texas yet. So it is an
evolving situation, kind of like weather soap operas. So nice
thing is we're all dry and when we get the rain,
it is all rain. Today is a cloudy day, mid
(31:15):
to upper forties. Tomorrow, showers in the afternoon, one hundred
percent chance of rain, and more rain tomorrow night, and
a few showers Friday morning. We're going to dry out
by the afternoon Friday, and then lots of sunshine over
the weekend and it finally starts to warm up into
the fifties and some places may be low.
Speaker 2 (31:33):

Speaker 3 (31:49):
So, all of a sudden, Mark Zuckerberg is a champion
of free speech, and he's moving some of these people
from California to Texas. Is he really reformed or is
he just going with the flow for the next few
years on that story coming up next. First though, at
five fifty, you're gonna hire some people that don't have
green hair and booger rings. Not if he goes to
(32:13):
Not if he goes to Austin. You can find plenty
of bigger rings in Austin this time.
Speaker 4 (32:16):
Mike, all right, we're on the Southwest Freeway. Good news
they did clear that wreck.
Speaker 2 (32:20):
Nothing good. What's going on there?
Speaker 4 (32:21):
It was outbound, not inbound at Kirby, Mike from Sugarland.
Speaker 2 (32:24):
You're a hero.
Speaker 4 (32:26):
That's out of the way. Stay of the course. The
Southwest will be just fine within a minute or so.

Speaker 2 (33:52):
Facebook.
Speaker 3 (33:53):
I don't know, I don't know why about Facebook. Five
fifty three is our time here on Houston's Born News.
I'm not on Faceboo all that bunch anymore. And all
I get our ads and reels, and you know, I
realize it's all about getting clicks. But I don't even
hear from my friends on Facebook anymore, and they probably
don't hear from me on those rare days I do post.
So I think that Mark Zuckerberg is trying to reinvent
(34:17):
himself to a certain extent, you know. I think that
was really a black stain on Meta's reputation when they
got caught up in the whole government censorship thing. And
he's blaming the government, but he was willing to go
along with the government. Okay, So if you're willing to
go along with it, it's easy to stand up now
that the new administration is coming in and say, yeah,
(34:37):
I never did like that censorship stuff. Easy to do
that now. But here is Mark Zuckerberg. Here's what he
said about clearing up the censorship on Facebook, and we
get some reaction to it on the five.
Speaker 36 (34:53):
And that's why it's been so difficult over the past
four years, when even the US government has pushed for
censorship by going after US and other American companies, it
has emboldened other governments to go even further. But now
we have the opportunity to restore free expression and I
am excited to take it.
Speaker 2 (35:11):
We all love a redemptive sinner.
Speaker 37 (35:13):
It's just that it would be great if that occurred
before you were caught, and we have a great deal
of information now that does not really support the argument
by Zuckerberg that they were unwilling partners forced into this
by the Biden administration. They resisted calls from many of
us for years to join elon Musk the reveal, for example,
(35:37):
the Facebook files, which they resisted. They fought at every
stage not to be transparent, and that finally collapsed. Now
that criticism aside, this is an important moment. You know,
Musk has been out there taking these slings and arrows
throughout this process as the only social media company that
(36:00):
in all you know, went full in on free speech.
Zuckerberg would be a powerful ally. I would be a
wonderful change. You know, Facebook funded a really creepy campaign
years ago trying to get young people to embrace what
they call content moderation, what some of us call censorship,
and it really failed in a spectacular fashion. It would
(36:22):
be great if Zuckerberg could join Musk and create this
powerful alliance for free speech.
Speaker 3 (36:30):
Yeah, like I said, Zuckerberg is pretty good figuring out
which direction the wind is blowing. By the way, President
Troupieste said, yeah, I saw where he said that. He said,
I think he's just responding to some of the things
I've said that maybe he found to be a little
bit threatening. You think, Yeah, I don't trust Mark Zuckerberg
any further than I can throw him. And as far
(36:51):
as moving jobs to Texas, I don't know if that's
a giant Cliff said, I don't know if that's a
giant middle finger to Gavin Newsom or if he's really
serious about moving his cup to Texas. But he'll probably
move to Austin. And if you moved to Austin, it
won't feel very much like he left California, will it?

It is six oh one on KTRH. We are sponsored
by plants for all seasons. Our top story. President elect
Donald Trump has got a long to do list, and
the incoming administration is hoping Congress will work with them
on it in the first one hundred days of the administration.
Speaker 10 (38:53):
He is the one with the mandate and the will

That is incoming White House Deputy Chief of Staff James Blair,

operated by China. China, and we gave the Panama Canal
to Panama.
Speaker 18 (39:34):
We didn't give it to China.
Speaker 5 (39:35):
He also talked about Canada as the fifty first state
and his desire to buy Greenland any case, and thought
he was not serious about that. Donald Trump Junior was
in Greenland on a personal trip and talked about what
he saw firsthand.
Speaker 38 (39:50):
So many of these young kids coming up and telling
us on a daily basis. You know, when we go
to Denmark, we're treated like second and third class citizens.
They tell us to go home. There seems to be
quite a bit of racism there. They just want to
live their best life, just like we want to live
ours in America and utilize the resources that we have
in the ground.
Speaker 5 (40:06):
Junior on Fox on the Home Front, Trump says he
wants one big budget bill as opposed to two something.
Texas Senator Ted Cruz is not so sure can happen.
Speaker 7 (40:16):
I think doing it all in one giant bill is
going to be tough, and so I think there's a
very reasonable debate about what would be more effective.
Speaker 2 (40:25):
I think if we.
Speaker 7 (40:25):
Took up a reconciliation bill quickly and secured the border
and did energy and defense, we could unify Republicans and

Trump's cabinet picks can move forward, and that, of course,

Speaker 39 (40:52):
Far left groups like the Democrat Socialists and Palestinian Youth

on President trump inauguration Day. At the same time, the

Speaker 2 (41:08):
Oh, look, we're going to look at but I'm going
to be acting very quickly within your first one hundred days.

The state funeral for former President Jimmy Carter is set

Speaker 40 (41:36):
Simply lending his name or maybe attending a gale or

that literally on numerous habitat bills.
Speaker 5 (41:50):
Senate Majority Leader John Toon was among those to pay tribute.
Yesterday six oh four, Texas Governor Greg Abbott addresses the
winter storm that's going to hit Texas later this morning.
At a news conference yesterday, he increased the readiness level
of the state's operations center with that winter storm. Urkott

Speaker 5 (42:30):
There the firefighters suffered burns on their hands, legs, and neck.
Wins up to one hundred miles an hour are not
helping the situation. With three wildfires burning in the Los
Angeles area, forcing mandatory evacuation, fire.
Speaker 41 (42:45):
Crews are on the ground desperately trying to contain the flames,
but so far all three fires are at zero percent containment.
So President Biden was stuck in Los Angeles overnight. He
was set to travel to the Coachella Valley yesterday, where
he'd announced two new national monuments, but the event was
canceled due to the dangerously strong wind gusts. He says
he is being continuously briefed on the wildfires and is
(43:07):
offering the state any federal assistance needed to combat the flames.
Speaker 5 (43:11):

was found in a Cypress area garage yesterday. Preaching four,
Constable Mark Hermann said there were no explosives in it.
That grenade apparently left behind by someone that used to
live in the residents. The latest on the New Orleans investigation,
FBI agents apparently found a cooler inside a storage unit

I think until though she actually files to run for

left the Democratic Party completely, but she.
Speaker 5 (44:04):
Did cross party lines to endorse Texas Senator Ted Cruz

Speaker 1 (44:37):
Go with Houston's News radio seven forty KTRH serve limits forget.
Speaker 3 (44:44):
About it six six all start time. Ted grows is
not forgetting about term limits. Although there's some irony in this.
First of all, I'm a supporter of Senator Ted Cruse.
I appreciate him being one of our two United States senators,
the other the other guy not so much. But but
but take Cruise, yes, and I'm glad he's our senator
(45:04):
from Texas. But there is something to dare I say
hypocritical perhaps about a guy who's running for a third
term in the Senate, and he is running for reelection
in this upcoming fall, he will be running for reelection.
He did, actually he did run for election for a
third term and one and he has filed a bill
(45:30):
again to limit US editors to two terms. I mean,
he could have limited him I'm glad he didn't, but
he could have limited himself to two terms and said, well,
I believe in two terms, and you know, twelve years
in the Senate, I'm done. But that's not what he
decided to do. So that that that part of it's
a little bit strange. But now that he has been
(45:52):
re elected for his third term, he is again filing
a bill to limit US editors to two terms. You know,
I've said this many times, and I guess I might
as well go ahead and say it again. If we
would all just kind of wise up and really think
about who we're voting for, and study who were voting for,
and hold the people we elect accountable for their record
(46:16):
and how they vote, pay attention to how they vote,
and then we could impose our own term limits at
the ballot box. It's very easy. We we imposed a
term limit on Joe Biden. He only got one term
as President of the United States. He could have he
could have well, if his party would have led him,
he could have run for reelection and had a second term.
(46:37):
But the American people have given that opportunity, no doubt,
would have said now you no, thank you, We're going
to term limit you to one term. By the same token,
they also said to to President Trump, hey, we want
you back. Sorry, we made a mistake. We want you
back for another term. So we voted him in.
Speaker 2 (46:56):
You know that.
Speaker 3 (46:57):
To me, that's the best way to deal with term
limits is just to get rid of the dead weight.
We just need to pay more attention to where the
dead weight is. Six ' ten Time for traffic and
weather together as we check out the drive again to Skymine.
Speaker 2 (47:08):
All right, I got a new problem.
Speaker 4 (47:09):
This is two eighty eight northbound at six ten.
Speaker 2 (47:12):
It's a stall. It's a center lane.
Speaker 4 (47:14):
I don't see a lot of people slowing down, so
watch out for other stations listeners that don't know about it. Again,
that's two eighty eight northbound at six ten. It's showing
up a center lane. And if you're coming up from Manville,
now still just a twenty minute and twenty one minute
drive downtown. We had something on the Pierce Elevated forty
five northbound at Sandra Center.
Speaker 2 (47:33):
Sure look like we.
Speaker 4 (47:34):
Had a stall or a minute, and that's why I
messed up the ramp from two eighty eight. But it
was gone before we could even see it. So that's
the true definition of toe truck. Ninjas did their work there.
But we still have a bit of a scooch now
on the Golf Freeway northbound, just around Scott Street six
' ten north. We're not looky at the squeeze yet.
We're good to get through forty five. Watch that curve
and you have the roadwork on the north SAM that's

We're still not expecting any frozen stuff in Houston now.
Speaker 20 (48:11):
No, I am not looking at any frozen stuff near Houston.
The nice thing is this low pressure system is going
to be taking her track right now.
Speaker 2 (48:21):
It looks like pretty close to the.
Speaker 20 (48:23):
Coast, and so we're going to be warm enough that
will be above freezing, and uh, we'll get the rain
and perhaps even some heavy rain. That actually is a
possibility for us, particularly tomorrow night.
Speaker 2 (48:37):
You've got to get into the.
Speaker 20 (48:38):
Cold air and the deep cold air in order to
get anything frozen, and I think that'll be primarily confined
into northern Texas. Western Texas too will likely get some
snow out of this. All right, So we got a
dry day today, a cool day, no big change in
the mid to upper forties for eyes today and tomorrow
(48:59):
looks like the rain will be mainly in the afternoon
and at some point you're going to get wet. It's
one hundred percent chance that you're going to get wet
tomorrow again, mainly in the afternoon and then overnight as well.
Temperatures tomorrow load to mid forties. It's cold, but it's
above freezing, and it stays above freezing tomorrow night. And
we still have a few showers a thirty percent chance
of rain Friday before we dry out for the afternoon. Now,
(49:22):
temperatures Friday in the load of mid forties. But once
this clears out of here and the sun shows sup
over the weekend, we will finally get out of the
cold temperatures with highs in the fifties on Saturday and
upper fifties to low sixties by Sunday.

Speaker 3 (52:30):
SAX twenty three is our time here in Houston's pony News.
Texas State Representative Riscocaine has put a new measure in
it's targeting the state fair gun ban, and it also
expands Second Amendment protections. He's here to tell us about
the bill. Brisco, Welcome to the program, sir, good to
have you back. Howdy howdy, hey, good morning, Dree perfect
(52:51):
perfectly said for the State Fair of Texas. So the
band went into effects. I think was last year, right
that the band and went into effect at the State Fair.
Speaker 42 (53:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 43 (53:02):
Yeah, here's essentially what we've figured out. Right, if you're
a license holder out there, we're talking about conscert scare,
we talking about the license chair. You know, whether that's
concealed or open. You know, there's certain places you can go.
There's certain buildings and you can't go to the courthouse,
but you can go to other government buildings. And so
we were all assuming that the state fair grounds or
(53:23):
government property. Well, it turns out that apparently private entities
can contract your rights away, right, and so that's problematic.
You may recall from last year we were all trying
to go to the state Fair. All of a sudden,
firearms are banned in the State Fair. And we'll bring
a lawsuit and we lose at the Supreme Court or
the Attorney General does, and so we had to file
(53:43):
a bill for it to fix it. It essentially says, look, hey,
it's taxpayer property. You get to have your rights there,
right that government can't not contract away your rights just
because someone's renting the space. It still belongs to you, right,
and you get to.
Speaker 2 (53:59):
Carry your weapon there.
Speaker 3 (54:00):
Let me ask you this then, because as you know,
there's a lot of businesses of signs right under doors,
you know, concealed carry signs that you can't bring a
weapon into their business. Does that change under this bill
or not?
Speaker 43 (54:11):
No, because you wouldn't be able to put that up really,
But one the bill does rive you from doing that.
But this is government owned property, right rather taxpayer owned property.
This is not a purely private business. The private business
the moment is using the tax payer property, but it
still belongs to the peoples. The people's rights should not
be changed.
Speaker 3 (54:31):
So private business owners in Texas who want to be
able to maintain if no concealed carry in their business
can continue to do so. We're just talking about the
public entities, places that are owned by us, the taxpayers.
Speaker 43 (54:45):
Yes, the government owns it, just because some private individuals
using it for a moment does not change your rights
as to the use of that property. So if you
have to have your prior arm, that place is still
a safe place.
Speaker 3 (54:57):
Okay, So it's hospital seventeen fifteen. When do you plan
to introduce it? I guess it probably already has been introduced. Man, Yeah,
do you expect it to safely make it to the
House floor?
Speaker 43 (55:09):
I mean I expect it to do fine. Hey, well
that really depends. Right on the fourteenth, we're electing our speaker.
Speaker 19 (55:14):
Guys.
Speaker 43 (55:14):
I know those in this audience are probably supporting David
Cook or hoping the representatives do. There's two Republicans running.
There's only one real Republican running because there's only one
that fits the Republican Party platform that has been properly
nominated by a majority of Republicans. So if we get
that done, I believe absolutely so.
Speaker 2 (55:31):
All right, we'll check back with you.
Speaker 3 (55:32):
Thank you, so appreciated Texas State representative from Deer Park
that is Briscocaine six twenty six. It is time to

She's gonna be great and look forward to her taking

Speaker 2 (58:27):
And we're gonna work with it very hard.
Speaker 5 (58:28):
Alabama Senator Tommy Tumberville There now, the incoming administration is
already trying to get the hostages still held by Hamas
after the October seventh attacks released.
Speaker 44 (58:40):
Everybody wants to see this happen, so I am I
am hopeful it happens. Before the inauguration, and if it
does happen, it'll be in large part because of the
President's directive.
Speaker 5 (58:52):
Special Envoy Steve Witcoff with KTRHS Sean Hennity. But Newsmax
reports today that intelligence officials believe only twenty hostages are
still alive. Trump won't just be dealing with Hamas, but
he's got Iran again. Of course, they being Hamas's backers.
Speaker 45 (59:09):
He kept him in check once, but Biden has reopened
the door.
Speaker 23 (59:13):
Biden administration has weakened sanctions. They've handed them billions of
dollars to fact that we have cash getting access to
bank accounts that were flurizen during the Trump years.
Speaker 2 (59:20):
They are still on the ascendancy.
Speaker 45 (59:22):
National security analyst Harry Cazianis says it's crucial to make
sure Iran doesn't get nukes, and while we can't wipe
them out, we can push them to the brink.
Speaker 23 (59:30):
Take Iran, take its aspirations and its terror threat, stick
it in a steelbox, and make sure that they can't
come out of it.
Speaker 45 (59:37):
He says that starts with Trump reimposing strict sanctions like
he did the first term. Andre Parard New's Radio seven

Speaker 5 (59:45):
Another Biden administration follows foreign policy failure. Is this The
Whitehouse now admits China can shut down our power grid
and our ports.
Speaker 29 (59:54):
At this moment, the Chinese can take down much, if
not most, of our infrastructure. These Americans have to be
prepared to live like they did in the nineteenth century.
This is a very dangerous moment.
Speaker 5 (01:00:07):
China expert Gordon Chang says that country already has operatives
and a biological weapons facility.
Speaker 2 (01:00:13):
Here in the US it's six point thirty four.
Speaker 5 (01:00:17):
There is yet another attempt by illegal aliens to beat
Trump to the border. Another caravan left southern Mexico last
week trying to get here before Inauguration Day. The Lake
and Riley Act, which would require immigration authorities to detain
illegals charged with theft, passes in the House.
Speaker 2 (01:00:35):
Now it goes to the Senate.
Speaker 22 (01:00:37):
I don't know why it's controversial that we need to
deport any migrants here illegal that are engaging in kinds
of criminal.
Speaker 5 (01:00:45):
Activity, Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman. But only forty eight Democrats
in the House voted for this six thirty five. Last year,
the Texas State Fair banned attendees from bringing in guns.
This year, state law makers are literally firing.
Speaker 2 (01:01:01):

right direction and I believe it'll pass.
Speaker 28 (01:01:26):
If passed, the new law would go into effect on
September first. Jeff Biggs News Radio seven forty k T raids.
Speaker 5 (01:01:34):
And there's also this in the pipeline in Austin, a
bill that could end this state's participation in daylight saving time.
Speaker 9 (01:01:41):
It's an issue that's been tossed about for years in Austin,
but nothing has.
Speaker 2 (01:01:44):
Come of it.
Speaker 32 (01:01:45):
But State of Texas is silent on the whole issue
of daylight savings. We haven't addressed it, even though many
of us have filed bills for quite some time.
Speaker 9 (01:01:53):
State Senator Jose Menendez says Texas voters could ultimately get
to choose which time we stick to.
Speaker 32 (01:01:58):
We're in a modern ah where we can acclimate to
whatever the voters decide, whether it's standard time or daylight savings.
Speaker 2 (01:02:05):
But the going back and forth is a pain.
Speaker 9 (01:02:07):
And then it says that back and forth causes health
problems as well as losses in productivity. Ethan Buchanan, News
Radio seven forty KTRH.
Speaker 5 (01:02:16):
It's now six thirty six, looking at your money Wall

about filing your taxes early now that it's January. One
reason the file is it will reduce your chances of

Speaker 12 (01:02:41):
They may want to take a look at their w

they don't want that much money taking out of their paycheck,
and they.
Speaker 2 (01:02:51):
Forget about it.
Speaker 5 (01:02:52):
The filing deadline is April fifteenth. Governor Greg Gabbott holds
a news conference at ten thirty to update the winter
storm that much of Texas will be faced with tomorrow.
There are also three wildfires burning out of control in
the Los Angeles area. This warning, and if you believe
the climate crowd, these weather extremes are coming thanks to
global warming.
Speaker 33 (01:03:13):
That's what some folks are now calling climate alarmism. If
it gets really cold, climate change, if we're in a drought,
climate change, and Climate Depot publisher Mark Morano says, it's
a narrative.
Speaker 34 (01:03:25):
Well, this is the media climate activist United Nations literally
changing and adapting the narrative to whatever weather events happen.
Speaker 2 (01:03:33):
In other words, after something happened, they claim.
Speaker 19 (01:03:36):
We predicted it.
Speaker 34 (01:03:36):
This is what we warned you about.

The Green beret who's floted his cyber truck in Las Vegas.
Speaker 2 (01:04:24):
A couple of things for you.
Speaker 3 (01:04:25):
First of all, turns out he used AI artificial intelligence
to plan the blast. Yep, he did so, he was
he was using the technology. But more importantly than that,
they found a more enlightening manifesto on his phone, and
(01:04:47):
it's about six pages long, and some of it has
been redacted for national security reasons. But thanks to the
Las Vegas sheriffs Department, we're getting some inklings as to
why he did what he did or is the Sheriff's
office in Las Vegas updating that story yesterday afternoon.
Speaker 46 (01:05:06):
Now moving on to that six page manifesto that the
sheriff talked about. This document was found as part of
the digital forensic analysis of his phone.
Speaker 2 (01:05:15):
There's a variance of grievances.
Speaker 46 (01:05:17):
And a constant evolution of his plans or intense of
what he wanted to do. There's mentions of political and
social and culture issues to include criticism of the current administration.
He also does right in there that he was super
high on weed and drinking, which we are still working
to confirm, and then he discusses the cyber truck being
(01:05:37):
used as a vehicle borne improvised explosive device. He also
says that he he has graphic encounters from his military
experience that replay in his head over and over and
that now he feels like he's a shell of a
human being with nothing to live for. This is important
not only because it points out the suicidal component, but
it also talks about the mental health that he was
(01:05:58):
dealing with, mental health issues that he was dealing with.
Just continuing on that manifesto, a few other excerpts for
now is he discusses the concerns about the withdrawal from
Afghanistan and losing his teammates, which again builds upon that
potential PTSD that.
Speaker 9 (01:06:11):
We're referring to.
Speaker 46 (01:06:12):
He does transition at some point and talks about being
concerned of the media labeling them as a terrorist and
that he had no intent on killing anyone else asides
from himself.
Speaker 3 (01:06:20):
Yeah, just suicide PTSD related to suicide the Afghanistan withdrawal.
Evidently he lost some friends in that, and Yaki probably
did blame the Biden administration as well he should for
what happened with that whole thing. Does that make him
maga No? And in fact he belonged to the No

Labels party, so he didn't identify as either Republican or Democrat,
but he sure did identify with what went wrong in

we're checking out that drive again.
Speaker 4 (01:06:53):
Here's sky Mike, whoa all right, North Freeway Airline. We're

let's go all the way back from Gulf Bank. That's
gonna get worse. Jump on the hardy big shots commoners.
The East text show hit a smash right at Lauter Road.
But otherwise go ahead and let's do that instead. Now
(01:07:14):
downtown your East tex elevated southbound, that's breaks from I

go ahead and stay the course there to eighty eight northbound.
That's in your system on some of your navigation as
a center lane. This is actually on the rimp that
goes from the two eighty eight South Freeway northbound up
to the south Loop six ten and downtown Josh League City.
Speaker 42 (01:07:36):
Forty five northbound. That's backed up getting on nine ten.
Speaker 2 (01:07:39):
Instead of two.

you go early enough and get there before the snow,
then maybe that's your best bet.
Speaker 20 (01:08:44):
Yeah, and here's the thing. This doesn't start to really
be a concern until tomorrow morning.
Speaker 2 (01:08:53):
That's when it may start.
Speaker 20 (01:08:55):
But the bulk of whatever is going to fall will

get Greenland and the bantamal Canal too. More in that
story coming up next. First, though, traffic and mother together.
It's so much fun hearing Disney, though if he's driving

We all avoid it, but you'll better understand the world
around you if you check in with US News Radio
seven KTRH six fifty four.
Speaker 3 (01:12:14):
Now, actually six fifty three. You're in Houston's Porting News.
So Donald Trump knows how to dominate a news cycle,
and he gave a seventy minute press conference yesterday. He
just is dominating the news with what he had to
say about the Golf of America, renaming it the Golf
of America, and the real estate evidently would like to
(01:12:36):
negotiate for on behalf of the United States.
Speaker 2 (01:12:38):
Here's what he said.
Speaker 6 (01:12:40):
We are inheriting a difficult situation from the outgoing administration,
and they're trying everything they can to make it more difficult.
Inflation is continuing to rage, and interest rates are far
too high. President Biden's actions yesterday on offshore drilling banning
(01:13:01):
offshore drilling will not stand. I will reverse it immediately.
They told me that we're going to do everything possible
to make this transition to the new administration very smooth.
Speaker 2 (01:13:14):
It's not smooth.
Speaker 18 (01:13:16):
We're going to be changing the name of.
Speaker 6 (01:13:18):
The Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.
Speaker 2 (01:13:24):
Which has a beautiful ring.
Speaker 21 (01:13:25):
Your references to Greenland and Alanama Canal so forth, can
you assure the world that as you try to get
in full of these areas, you are not going to
use military or economic coercion.
Speaker 6 (01:13:40):
No, we need them for economic security. The Panama Canal
was built for our military. We need Greenland for national
security purposes.
Speaker 17 (01:13:50):
Considering military force to an.
Speaker 6 (01:13:52):
Acquired economic force, because Canada and the United States, that
would really be something you get rid of that artificially
drawn line and you take a look at what that
looks like, and it would also be much better for
national security. Uh.
Speaker 3 (01:14:11):
The thing that cracks me withut the most is the
is the mainstream trying to get Trump to say that
he's going to military militarily invade these guntries. That's not
what he's doing, not even close. All right, time for
the timeline, we have four pack of tickets pit pass
including pit passes by the way, for Monster jamm at
NRG in February of the second. You can get your
(01:14:33):
tickets now for that event, or you could just go
ahead and win a pair from us. Just tell us
what year today's timeline's from.
Speaker 2 (01:14:38):
If I were to make public these tapes, it was January.
Speaker 47 (01:14:41):
Richard Nixon said he wouldn't hand over the Watergate tape.
Speaker 16 (01:14:44):
Confidentiality of the office of the President would always be

Speaker 47 (01:14:50):
Trying the movie Jonathan Livingston Seagull was big at the

Sorry Yeah, going to the hospital for a lousy operation.
Speaker 18 (01:14:57):
I wake up two hundred years later and I'm.
Speaker 47 (01:14:59):
Flash Woody Allen Sweeper was also raking in the box
office dough while on TV.
Speaker 2 (01:15:06):
It was the premiere of Happy Days.

checking out that morning drive once again with Skymike.

backed up from you of age. Let's actually connect the
dots now to wayside and you lose sixteen minutes this
way clear the North Freeway. I knew they were serious
about it. Southbound airline from the Fiesta, the recks gone.
The backup still there. From West Mount Houston and Katie Freeway.

We are inheriting a difficult situation from the outgoing administration,
and they're trying everything they can to make it more difficult.
Speaker 5 (01:17:44):
Donald Trump and mar Lago talking about the transition from
the Biden team. Despite the pardons in the eleventh hour regulations,
Trump also doubled down on wanting to take control of Greenland,
the Panama Canal, and Canada becoming the fifty first state.
By the way, those regulations include the banning of offshore
drilling in most federal waters. How did that go over
(01:18:05):
with Texas Senator Ted Cruz.
Speaker 7 (01:18:07):
I think doing it all in one giant bill is
going to be tough, and so I think there's a
very reasonable debate about what would be more effective.
Speaker 2 (01:18:16):
I think if we.
Speaker 7 (01:18:16):
Took up a reconciliation bill quickly and secured the border
and did energy and defense, we could unify Republicans and
get a quick, quick win.
Speaker 5 (01:18:24):
Well cruise with kJ Recha Sean Hannity about a possible
reconciliation bill there. The Biden administration also wants to lower
nicotine levels in cigarettes before they leave office. Texas Congressman
Ronnie Jackson says that doesn't quite make sense.
Speaker 8 (01:18:39):
If you decrease the amount of nicotine in a given cigarette,
people are just going to smoke more cigarettes. And it's
not the nicotine in the cigarettes it causes cancer. It's
the tar and all the other carcinogens in there.
Speaker 5 (01:18:50):
A former ATF official told Fox that a ban of
cigarettes would be a quote gift to cartels. So obviously
Trump's got a lot to fix in the first first
one hundred days are going to be crucial to doing so.
Speaker 9 (01:19:04):
In Coming officials say they won't be wasting any of
those first one hundred days.
Speaker 2 (01:19:07):
Day one is going to be action packed.
Speaker 10 (01:19:09):
What you will see as the President work quickly and
aggressively to implement the policy that he campaigned on.
Speaker 9 (01:19:16):
Incoming Deputy Chief of Staff James Blair told Fox there's
a lot Trump can get done in that time with
executive orders.
Speaker 10 (01:19:22):
Securing the border, unleashing American energy, getting wokeness out of
the military, and restoring it to being the world's most
lethal and well trained fighting force.
Speaker 9 (01:19:30):
Blair also said he's hopeful that Congress will work with
Trump to quickly advance his agenda. Ethan beginning News Radio

Speaker 2 (01:19:37):
Thank you, Ethan.
Speaker 5 (01:19:38):
The Republican led Senate is making a move on the
Trump cabinet. They approved committee assignments yesterday, allowing cabinet confirmations
to begin as early as next week. Now, while the
Biden DOJ is prosecuting Trump supporters over January sixth, left
wing groups are planning their own so called insurrection for
(01:20:00):
January twentieth, organizing what they're calling a day of protest
in cities across the country.
Speaker 1 (01:20:05):
It's ridiculous, it's absurd, it's ridiculous.
Speaker 2 (01:20:09):
I don't know how the American people put up with this.
Speaker 5 (01:20:12):

Three separate wildfires have forced thousands to evacuate.
Speaker 2 (01:21:22):
None of them are contained.
Speaker 13 (01:21:23):
Quite frankly, you know, there's not a lot we can
do in terms of suppressing them once they're they're ignited.
You know, our main focus is getting people and you know,
lives out of the way of these fires.

Republican on Harris County Commissioner's Court. But while the local
newspaper wants you to think she's joined the Republican Party officially,
others say it's too soon to say that.
Speaker 15 (01:22:21):
Right now, kim Auga is probably in a gray area
where she has one foot outside of the Democratic Party,
but not two feet.
Speaker 5 (01:22:30):
Rice is Mark Jones there and after losing to Shawn

Old baby Loven who has too many calories to be
carbs you too sweet? Seven to eight is our time
here in Houston's Morning News.
Speaker 2 (01:23:39):
Right.
Speaker 3 (01:23:40):
I want to preface this by saying this is completely
one hundred and fifty percent a marketing ploy. That's all
this is. So when you see it, don't fall for it,
although there'll be a plenty of people who will. You
know how popular ozembic and these other weight loss drugs
are now the ones where you have to give yourself
a shot in the stomach. You know, if you're phobic
that you may not be participating in the ozempic weight
(01:24:03):
loss program. And if you've seen the price and it's
not covered by your insurance, then you definitely probably are
reconsidering whether or not you want to participate because it
is expensive, but plenty of people are doing it. Why
because it's easy. It's easy. All I got to do
is give myself a shot and I lose some weight.
Of course, you know you're going to be hon it
(01:24:24):
for the rest of your life or you're going to
put the weight back on one of the two. But
the food industry sees what's going on here. They see
that we're all into this easy weight loss ozempic craze
right now. So you're going to see a lot of
food manufacturers come out with what they are going to
call and I quote ozempic friendly food. So that give
(01:24:49):
you the idea that pair this food with your ozempic
shots and you'll lose even more weight. The reality is
that a high protein, low carb diet will help virtually
anybody lose weight. All they're going to do is, you know,
take Atkins and some of these other you know, high protein,
(01:25:11):
low carb processed meals and just kind of branded with
the ozepic name. It's nothing that you can't get right now,
you know, if you want to, if you want to
lose weight, that virtually works for everybody. Eye protein low
carb and it's not that figure not hard to figure out,
especially with processed foods. Of course, with the processed foods,
(01:25:32):
you got to get the flavor from somewhere. So please
note that you're gonna be eating a lot of sodium
and there'll be some other things in there in that process,
foods that probably aren't particularly good for you, but you
will lose weight seven to ten high for traffic and
weather together, as we check out the drive again, here
sky Mike, all right.
Speaker 4 (01:25:47):
To I forty five coming into downtown. This is on
the sixty nine connector. This is on the connector that
goes to the East text elevator and also the southwest.
It's I forty five Golf Freeway right where you have
to make that switch done from Channel three teens in

it's an accident. Looks like a lot of flashy lights here.
Don't do the connector. Let's just go straight through and
(01:26:09):
take a different route, maybe the Katie Freeway or the
Southwest Freeway to whichever where you're headed, especially for going west.
All right, clear forty five north airline in front of Festa.

we know what to do with rain, so we're good.
Speaker 2 (01:27:16):
We just got three.
Speaker 20 (01:27:17):
Days and then the prize arrives for the weekend. So
a cloudy, cool day today, middumber forties, and tomorrow we
have a one hundred percent chance of some rain. It
looks like the bulk of the showers will be in
the afternoon, but it does continue overnight and a few
showers early Friday. It's all liquid, but we may get
some heavy rain, so we'll be watching that tomorrow. Temperatures

One of the stories we're working on today we've been
sharing with the Cliff has been sharing with you during
the news is the fact that China can close down
our ports, they can interrupt our power grid. They may
have something to do with drones. I think I saw
Gordon Chang say something about that on Fox. We'll ask
him about that. Gordon Chang is a he's been a

about Red China and their project to destroy America for

I feel like I see you every day on Fox
sporton How do you make all the time to do
all these interviews?
Speaker 29 (01:30:46):
Well, there are important things to talk about, Jimmy, So
that's why I wanted to discuss this, because I don't
think the American people understand how much danger we are in.
Speaker 3 (01:30:56):
Do you think let's let's tackle this quickly before we
we get into ports in the electric grid, which I
think is obviously the bigger concern.
Speaker 2 (01:31:04):
Do you believe it?
Speaker 3 (01:31:05):
Seems to me I saw that you, at least at
the beginning, thought that some of this drone activity had
something to do with the communist China.
Speaker 2 (01:31:12):
Do you still feel that way?
Speaker 29 (01:31:15):
Well, yes, we know that, for instance, a Chinese national
was flying a drone over at Vandenberg's Space Force Base
during some launches, and that person's been charged also over
Langley Air Force Base. The best explanation is that the
Chinese were involved. But we've got to remember that there
were drones entering US airspace over the Atlantic, and that
(01:31:39):
is unlikely to be domestic federal zone federal drones, and
it's unlikely to be American hobbyists. The most probable explanation
is that a foreign power was sending drones over the
East coast. That could be Iran, as some people believe.
But if it was Iran, China was behind it, because
Iran can't move without Beijing's approval.
Speaker 3 (01:32:00):
Good point, All right, let's talk about our ports in
our electric grid. I think even more than the ports,
I think the electric grid is obviously something that could
cause immediate chaos. You destroy the electric grid for a
matter of even days, let alone weeks, and you've got
complete and utter chaos in this country.
Speaker 19 (01:32:19):
That's right.
Speaker 29 (01:32:20):
We start living like we did in the eighteen fifties,
and China can take down our grid in a number
of different ways. First of all, there's hacking, of course,
but also there appears to be Chinese agents in our
country in great numbers, and I'm sure that some of
the things they are thinking about are taking down substations
(01:32:41):
and power lines. So we are vulnerable.
Speaker 2 (01:32:45):
All right.
Speaker 3 (01:32:46):
Is there anything that we could or should be doing
to cut back on the vulnerability or is this something
that we've just waited way too long to act?
Speaker 23 (01:32:54):
One?
Speaker 29 (01:32:56):
Well, we have to do something, even though yes, we've
waited way too long. So for instance, we can increase
the cyber defenses of our grid utilities have been trying
to prevent federal standards for protections. That is obviously wrong.
We now need to protect the grids. Also. There's another thing,
(01:33:18):
and that is we have imposed no costs on China
for attacking our networks. Now, those costs don't have to
be cyber attacks back. In fact, we don't want to
do that because we don't want to show our capabilities
unless we absolutely have to. But for instance, things like tariffs,
trade restrictions, all sorts of items that we can impose,
(01:33:41):
and I think that that will go a long way
to showing the Chinese that no, they can't attack our grids. Unfortunately,
we have not had the political will to impose those
severe costs.
Speaker 3 (01:33:52):
All right, And one quick one for you if you could.
I know that you're also concerned about our ports. I
assume that the Port of Houston is one of those
ports that you would be concerned about.
Speaker 2 (01:33:59):
In what way.
Speaker 29 (01:34:02):
Any port that has a Chinese crane. For instance, those
cranes from the Shanghai Company were found to have cellular
modulars that were not part of the original specifications and
which gave China the ability to disable those those cranes
for to operate them in ways that we would find
to be dangerous, in other words, dropping containers all over
(01:34:24):
the place. You know, this is something that we have
known for quite some time.
Speaker 2 (01:34:29):
We've done nothing about it.
Speaker 29 (01:34:30):
It's only been in the last three or four months
that we've had actually a public discussion of it.
Speaker 19 (01:34:36):
It's way pastime for us to do something.
Speaker 2 (01:34:39):
Thank you so much for the wake up call. We
always appreciate it.

I'm Jimmy Barrett. Among our top stories this half are Tulsi.
She says they need to confirm her quickly. China, they
can shut down our ports and our electric grid. And
coming up at seven thirty eight, Senator Tom Cotton wants
to know the same thing I was asking yesterday. How
could Biden justify releasing Terrormus terrorist brother from Juantanamo Bay?
(01:36:27):
Those stories and more coming up for the minutes ahead. First,
we're checking out the drive again. Here sky Mine, they've.
Speaker 4 (01:36:31):
Moved the wreck on the Katie Freeway at Campbell inbound.
That's over on the shoulder. Now just watch out. It's

Newsmax reports that intelligence officials believe only twenty hostages are
still alive. Trump will also have to deal with Iran again.
National security analyst Hary Caseyani says Trump contained them once
he can do it twice.
Speaker 23 (01:38:31):
Trump is really going to have to put a line
in the sand. He's going to have to tell countries, Look,
you're either with US, you're with the West, you're at
the democracies. But if you want to partner with Iran,
if you want to start getting cheap oil from them,
you're not going to be a friend of the United
States anymore. And some countries are going to have to
make some very difficult choices.
Speaker 5 (01:38:46):
He says, Trump needs to reimpose sanctions and Frey's assets. Meantime,
you might have missed this. The Biden Whitehouse just made
a stunning admission about China.

Speaker 2 (01:39:51):
It now goes to the Senate.
Speaker 30 (01:39:52):
The bipartisan support that you saw in the House, I
am really hopeful we'll carry on into the Senate, and
we're already seeing good traction from our Senate colleagues interested

wants you to think global warming is getting worse, you know,
thanks to a Texas winter storm. But what's really getting
worse is the political rhetoric from the climate crowd.
Speaker 34 (01:42:00):
One meteorologist dubbed it climate ambulance chasing, which is exactly
what it is. A bad weather event hits, a blizzard,
a tornado hits and tornado alley, a hurricane hits and
hurricane season, and they claim we caused it because of
our SUVs, because of our cold plans, because of our
air conditioning.
Speaker 5 (01:42:16):
Mark Morano with the Climate Depot says, the claims that
today's cold weather or last year's hurricanes are the result
of global warming is just political activism. Seven thirty seven.

Speaker 3 (01:43:05):
So yes, I was talking about you know, what the
hell is he thinking President Biden pardoning eleven Yemeny terrorists?
You know they were in Gitmo. They've been in Gitmo
since two thousand and one. I mean, these are the
worst of the worst. And what is the justification for
(01:43:26):
releasing these people? I mean, are we working under the
idea that they're going to ohman? Are we working under
the mistaken impression that somehow they've been rehabilitated, that they're
not going to become terrorists again? These are the same question.
I'm not the only one asking. Here's Senator Tom Cotton, Shine,
it is true.
Speaker 49 (01:43:43):
Actually three of them were slom bin laden bodyguards, so
it's hard for them to argue that these were just
innocent goat herders rounded up by the American military twenty
four years ago. People left in Guantanamo are the worst
of the worst, the hardest cases, and Joe Biden, as
you said, release them for nothing. They're going to the
exact same place and the exact same program where Obama
(01:44:04):
released thirty Guantanamo detainees in his final two years, or
what happened to them? Twenty nine of them went back
to their home countries Yeomen in Afghanistan with no accounting
for their whereabouts. For all we know, they're back in
the fight, threatening Americans. Yet another step for Joe Biden
to add to history legacy of coddling America's enemies and
endangering our people. No, Sean, I don't think it is explicable.
(01:44:27):
It's just consistent with the democratic mindset.
Speaker 2 (01:44:29):
Though.
Speaker 49 (01:44:29):
Going back to the early days after the nine to
eleven attacks, they've been criticizing Guatanamo Bay, trying to close it,
trying to bring these hardened terrorsts to American soil to
give them the full set of rights that any person
present in the United States has. And remember a lot
of the lawyers working in the Biden White House, the
Department of Justice. These are the lawyers that were suing
(01:44:52):
the federal government on behalf of hardened terrorists during the
Bush administration and during the first Trump administration. And what
do you think they're going to do in two weeks,
They're going to go back to representing terraced again, suing
the federal government, taking the side of those who have
American blood on their hands.
Speaker 3 (01:45:09):
Well yeah, in this uh, this administration, the Curd administration
doesn't think you'll ever find out about it, So no

Yeah, Whitey Whiteay's stealing people's mail seven fifty four is
our time. Here's a report from Curzy in Fox twenty
six Houston about a Webster post office worker pinched for
stealing credit cards.
Speaker 50 (01:50:03):
Cornelius Jermaine Davis. Webster police say that he is a
USPS mail carrier who allegedly used stolen credit cards to
buy big box items like this go Kart.
Speaker 2 (01:50:16):
A search forign affidavit.
Speaker 50 (01:50:17):
In this case says that he used a stolen credit
card to buy this exact model and thousands of dollars
worth of more merchandise, all for curbside pickup. This academy
in Webster was a hotspot, according to records. They say
that Davis placed more than forty curbside pickup orders here
using thirty six different people's names from November to December,
(01:50:42):
and on December ninth, investigators decided to meet Davis here
when he was set to pick up an order that
was worth more than six hundred bucks. According to records,
the credit card on the order belonged to a Miss
Mary Paris. Hi, I'm looking for a Mary Paris. I
got a hold of Mary on the phone.
Speaker 47 (01:51:02):
I checked my bank account and I had I said,
almost seven hundred dollars in charges to academy.
Speaker 35 (01:51:08):
So I prosed my card because I knew I hadn't
done it.
Speaker 5 (01:51:11):
From when they told me he had had a tumpy
of my driver's license, even which I have no idea
how he had that.
Speaker 50 (01:51:18):
According to records, this is the ID Davis presented to officers.
Speaker 2 (01:51:23):
You need to have something with David Parris on it.
He was even crazier, he said he was my husband.
Speaker 50 (01:51:29):
Records show that Davis was arrested that day for using
the fake ID, and that's the only charge that he's
facing at this time. But the search warrant that I'm
pulling all of this information from suggests that Davis did
this multiple times and that more charges could be coming.
Speaker 2 (01:51:45):
Great.
Speaker 3 (01:51:46):
What kind of a background check do you suppose the
United States Postal Services doing on folks? Do you think
that's that's pretty sophisticated, that you still in the credit
cards then buying and reselling stuff, it's fairly sophisticated, That's yeah.
It doesn't sound like somebody that the first time they've
ever done something like that, Let's put it that way.
Makes you real good about sending stuff in the US mail,
