Texans shouldn't be paying for center points eight hundred million
dollar lease for generators that have never been used. Hurricane

Entrepreneur future is Peter shaf and he doesn't expect an
AI market crash, but more of a shakedown. According to
the latest numbers, housing turnover dropped to its lowest level
in thirty years.

Speaker 19 (07:11):
The market's just anemic right now, and we've kind of
got the perfect storm, and if you put everything together,
it's just gotten really difficult to get some momentum here
in the housing market.

I don't know if you saw the FEMA administrator Shara
on ABC's this week. I didn't see it live because
I don't won't watch ABC live, but I did see
her appearance. She looks shockingly like that former Secret Service
director that got leg go. She looks just like her,
sounds just like her too. Her name is dian Criswell.

(08:34):
She spoke with George Stephanopoulos about how the misinformation surrounding
the federal government response to Helene is hurtful.

Speaker 4 (08:43):
It pains her.

Speaker 6 (08:46):
Because misinformation.

Speaker 3 (08:47):
Yeah, misinformation is frankly ridiculous and just plain false. This
kind of rhetoric is not helpful to people.

Speaker 7 (08:53):
I mean, the videos of people are hiking eleven and
twelve miles to check on their families, and it's the
dead bodies on the road.

Speaker 4 (09:01):
It's the evil things that Donald Trump is saying.

Speaker 3 (09:03):
You know, it's really a shame that we're putting politics
ahead of helping people. That's what we're here to do.
We had complete support from the state. What about the people?
Have you had complete support of the people? She added, We've.

Speaker 2 (09:16):

Speaker 7 (09:39):
You trying to get starlink communications into these people and
you're telling me I can't get in and they're.

Speaker 3 (09:46):
Claying, no, what are you talking about. We haven't closed
their airspace. We haven't done you that. Yes you have,
and it's just ridiculous. Who are you going to believe?
Is my question this morning? Do you believe the people
of North Carolina? Or do you believe the head of FEMA?
I know where my vote goes. Five to ten. Time

Actsavandary twenty four hour Weather Center. Terry is here in
keeping an eye on Helene and poor Florida. Tell you
what I'd hate to have to be shopping for homeoer's
policy in Florida right now.

Speaker 21 (11:26):
Yeah, yeah, it's This is the third hurricane to hit
Florida this year. So Hurricane Milton is in the southwestern
Gulf of Mexico right now, so it's a good distance
away from Florida, but strengthening at one hundred mile an
hour wins right now, and it's expected to continue to

(11:46):
strengthen and likely become a major hurricane here in the
next twenty four hours and head toward the Florida Peninsula,
this time just a little further south from where Helene hit.

Speaker 6 (11:58):
But right now the Tampa.

Speaker 21 (12:00):

for some sort of direct impact sometime late Wednesday into Thursday.
So we got ourselves another mess in Florida on the way.
And by contrast, our weather is the complete and total opposite.

(12:22):
Lots of sunshine. It's still warm today, our temperatures in
the load to mid nineties, but there's this coal front
that's headed our way, and so tomorrow, not only will

info you need to take on the day.

Speaker 3 (12:57):
So I've already asked the question, We'll ask it again
when it comes to who you believe about what's going
on in North Carolina. Do you believe the people of
North Carolina? Or do you believe the federal government? Do
you believe FEMA when they says that the Trumpet and
others are spreading misinformation that it is not true. We're there,
we're on the ground, We're providing all the help that

(13:17):
people want. And what you're doing is is sowing seeds
of distrust in the government and blah blah blah blah blah.
I know where my money is, and I know where
Tulcy Gabbat's money is too, because she sees it for
herself too. She's a former Democrat.

Speaker 7 (13:30):
You're getting a lot of these reports from the people
who are other Americans who are coming in from outside
trying to help.

Speaker 4 (13:35):
Exactly and running into stone walls trying to.

Speaker 7 (13:38):

Five twenty one now on news Radio seven forty ktr.
She's headlined sponsored by Moral Mechanical. Today is the one
year anniversary of the October seven attack on Israel by
Hamas terrorist the murders of some twelve hundred people, men, women, children, babies,
with about one hundred people kidnapped. Those victims still being

(15:06):
held hostage in Gaza. More violent crime in Houston, at
least two deadly shootings this week and including one that
in Southwest Houston that also left another person injured. Poop
Prints It's a service that matches the dog's DNA with
its poop. It's tripled its user base of mostly apartment
complexes to more than nine thousand apartment complexes condo owners

(15:31):

Speaker 3 (15:32):
They're all trying to find the dog. It's pooping on
the places where you're not supposed to poop. That's what
that's all about. That's doggy DNA. They're going to set
some those homeowners associations want to find folks.

Brother latest news anytime kgurah dot com.

Speaker 6 (15:51):
This is urban living. It stinks.

Speaker 7 (15:53):
Our next update is at the bottom of the hour.

Speaker 3 (15:57):
All right, things are slowly but sure. Talk to my sister.
She has her power back, she has her WiFi back.

Speaker 6 (16:05):
She lives in Nashville.

Speaker 4 (16:06):
She lives in Asheville.

Speaker 3 (16:07):
She lives in the city, so and she lives in
an area where, you know, among the first to get
it back. Obviously, you know, she's still trying to help
her neighbors anyway she can. She hasn't. They still don't
see much going on. I mean they see to see
the people. There are people there trying to help.

Speaker 4 (16:25):
She said.

Speaker 3 (16:26):
How she call it, She said, I'm staying out of
the way because it's chaos because there now there's so
many folks that are trying to help that it's just,
you know, everybody's kind of getting into everybody's way.

Speaker 6 (16:35):
Was ten days after the fact.

Speaker 3 (16:36):
Right now now that FEMA finally has shown up, right
and they're trying to bark orders at people about what
you can do and what you can't do. Uh, President
Trump talking about that the campaign appearance in Georgia over
the weekend, and Uh. Also you'll hear from Tulca Gabbard
on what is really going on with this.

Speaker 22 (16:54):
Our country is in the final weeks of a hard
fought national election, but in a time like this one,
a crisis is when our fellow citizens cry out in need.

Speaker 9 (17:06):
None of that matters when I'm talking about politics.

Speaker 23 (17:09):
Now, we have to all get together and get this solved.

Speaker 24 (17:11):
It was heartbreaking there to see how many people still
have been forgotten. And this is difficult to capture in
words when you see entire towns and entire communities have
literally disappeared, with their lives, their homes, their businesses, their
entire life savings swept away in this twenty foot wall

(17:32):
of water that went through their communities.

Speaker 4 (17:35):
The sad thing is, Maria.

Speaker 24 (17:37):
You know, I look back to what happened in Maui
during the wake of the tragic historic fires there and
the many layers of failures that came from FEMA, and
I'm seeing the exact same thing play out here today.
While Vice President Harris and Joe Biden claim to be
doing all they can and providing all the resources possible.

Speaker 4 (17:56):
FEMA is out on.

Speaker 24 (17:57):
The ground, they say, But when you go out into
these rural communities, they have yet to see anyone with
a FEMA jacket on knocking on their door saying how
can we help you. It is a slap in the
face to these Americans who also then hear how the
Secretary of Department of Homeland Security is saying, sorry, we
don't have enough money because we are providing hundreds of

(18:18):
millions of dollars to illegal immigrants and providing them with
free rent, free housing, free food, and other entitlements. Meanwhile,
these people have lost their homes, they've lost their vehicles,
they've lost their businesses, and they're wondering how they're going
to get by to tomorrow. What to speak of next week,
next month, and next year. There are such a huge

(18:39):
laundry list of the needs that they have. You look
at power. So many of these communities are still without power.
There are many small towns with hundreds or maybe a
thousand people who live in these towns. As you're seeing
here in these images, they have yet to be able
to get the power. They need to be able to
get access to water, and water pumps and wells. They

(19:00):
are wondering, where is FEMA, Where are the Army Corps
of Engineers? Why haven't people come out there and started
to do the necessary work that the volunteer firefighters are
unable to do themselves. They're doing all that they possibly can,
and they're wondering, where is our government? Why are they
not here for us? This is just another example unfortunately

(19:22):
Vice President Harrison Joe Biden's American people come last policies,
and we're feeling it firsthand.

Speaker 3 (19:29):
Oh, it's are you spreading more misinformation? Tulsa Gabbert.

Speaker 6 (19:34):
You know what, let's just call him.

Speaker 7 (19:36):
You know, when it's Tim Walls lying, they call it
misspeak misstatements. You know, he's gout doing I'm clearing up
my misstatements, tour.

Speaker 6 (19:45):
I mean it's misinformation.

Speaker 7 (19:47):
If somebody gives truth, if somebody lies, it's called a misspeak.

Speaker 6 (19:53):
I mean, really.

Speaker 7 (19:54):
Misstatement speaking of them? Is it getting very complicated?

Speaker 3 (19:59):
Well, did you see, by the way, on you know,
we were all when we saw the jobs report on Friday.
You know, I was like, oh, come on, there's no
way that sucker is accurate. And he said Marco Rubio
over the weekend talking about you know, speaking of misinformation,
called the jobs report completely false. You know, he basically
said that this is this is garbage, there's no truth

(20:21):
to this whatsoever. I mean, you want to talk about misinformation,
it's it's it's it's really quite amazing that, you know,
what the left is doing here is they basically saying
anything that you're saying about them is misinformation.

Speaker 4 (20:34):
And you know, and.

Speaker 3 (20:37):
There it's the amazing it's the amazing ability to It's
like I said, I know you are, but what am
I that? That really is the way they operate. They
were they're spreading misinformation like this business and saying that
the right is spreading misinformation.

Speaker 6 (20:51):
Bureaucracy.

Speaker 7 (20:51):
Our government is nothing more than one big leftist bureaucracy.

Speaker 4 (20:55):
By twenty eight our Times, you're Obama.

Speaker 7 (20:57):
I remember back in you know, twenty ten, twenty two twelve,
when I first started working here and we were doing
job reports.

Speaker 6 (21:04):
That doesn't make any sense.

Speaker 3 (21:05):
Right, yeah, five twenty eight now here in Houston's morning news.

Speaker 4 (21:09):
Let's do this. You are no Houston's News.

Speaker 1 (21:12):

Five thirty our time, Houston's Morning News. I'm Jimmy Barrett

Imperial Valley. You've got this business. Look at that west Sam.

News Radio seven forty KTRH. It is time now for
the news. Here's Sheriff Fryer.

Speaker 25 (22:43):
Morning.

Speaker 7 (22:43):
Everyone is now five point thirty one on news Radio
seven toty KTRH.

Speaker 6 (22:46):
Our top story this hour.

Speaker 7 (22:47):
On this anniversary date of the October seventh terrorist attack
on Israel, we had two people heard in a hamas
rocket attack on the Jewish state overnight, and meantime HESBA
also fired more rock as at Israel over night, at
least thirty five missiles. It comes after yet another attack yesterday,
nine people wounded after a rocket hit a restaurant in

(23:09):
the northern port city of Haifa. The Biden Harris regime
has told the Israelis nonetheless not to target Iran's nuclear
sites and retaliation for that massive one hundred and eighty
nine Iranian missiles attacking last week. House Intel Committee Chairman
Mike Turner says that's outrageous for.

Speaker 26 (23:29):
Him to give Iran the comfort that their actions of
attacking directly Iran will not have any consequences for the

I said, one year now since the Hamas attack on
Israel that murdered twelve hundred people, hundreds more taken hostage,
and about one hundred are still being held.

Speaker 27 (23:59):
Even after a full year, there are still Americans trapped
by Hamas.

Speaker 28 (24:02):
We had several dozen Americans that were killed on that day,
and we have anywhere from five to six Americans that
are still being held in Gaza.

Speaker 27 (24:11):
Brent Sadler with the Heritage Foundation told KTOH this is
a tragic example of the Biden administration's weakness.

Speaker 28 (24:17):
This administration has given concessions to the aggressor and applied
pressure to the aggrieved party in Israel. It should be
no surprise that the fighting continues.

Speaker 27 (24:27):

to grow. Thanks to Biden's weakness. Ethan Buchanan News Radio

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has declared today a state wide
day of observance in honor and in the memory of
the October seven victims. He ordered the United States and
Texas flags to be flown at half staff across the
state and asked religious leaders to light candles at their
next service.

Speaker 6 (24:53):
It is five thirty four on the campaign trail.

Speaker 7 (24:56):
If you needed any more proof that Kamala Harris can't
speak without or teleprompter, well it's this is what it
sounded like when it suddenly quit on her in Michigan
this weekend.

Speaker 6 (25:08):
Thirty two days.

Speaker 4 (25:10):
Thirty two days. Okay, we got some business to do.

Speaker 6 (25:14):
We got some business to do, thirty two days.

Speaker 7 (25:19):
You should have seen the look on her face. Oh
where do I go from here? She's putting more televised
interviews on her schedule, apparently friendly sit downs with the view. Oh,
that's not an interview. Stephen Colbert, that's not an interview.
And Howard Stern, Oh that's not an interview. Those three

(25:39):
spots well short of the sixty three interviews Trump Advanced
ticket has done since July a lot of times with
very hostile press. The VP isn't getting any help from
her boss either. Joe Biden put his foot in his
mouth again during a surprise appearance. He made it a
victory lap about the September jobs report.

Speaker 6 (25:58):
You were just talking about Jimmy.

Speaker 23 (26:01):
We're a singer from the same song sheet. She helped
pass all the laws of being employed. Now, she was
a major player, and everything we've.

Speaker 7 (26:10):
Done, blame it on her. Biden was trying to defend
the federal government response actually lack thereof, in Hurricane Helene
there in North Carolina, Northern Georgia, Western Tennessee. He says
he's ordered five hundred more troops to assist with relief
efforts in North Carolina now ten days after the fact.

(26:32):
Don't forget the eighty second airborne rabid Response team was
just minutes away ten days. That response one of the
many things Donald Trump could hit upon during his return
to Butler, Pennsylvania side of the July thirteen assassination attempt.

Speaker 6 (26:46):
This summer, this has been.

Speaker 9 (26:48):
The worst hurricane response by a president and vice president
since Katrina.

Speaker 6 (26:53):
And this is simply not acceptable.

Speaker 7 (26:56):
Trump campaign says that rally drew some one hundred five
thousand people who has began as a commemoration of Corey Comparatore,
who was murdered by the assassin July thirteenth. We'll have
more from that rally, including Elon Musk making his appearance.

Speaker 6 (27:13):
We'll have that at six am.

Speaker 7 (27:15):
The death toll from Helene is at least two hundred

make landfall, believed around Wednesday afternoon just south of Tampa.
Governorn DeSantis has declared an emergency for dozens of counties

and then it heads.

Speaker 6 (27:41):
For the Bermuda Triangle.

Speaker 7 (27:46):
Milton is a cat to hurricane at this point, five

Speaker 6 (27:51):
Well, better go ahead and spend it. That's the mantra
now for billions of dollars unspent funds that were given
to local governments by the fact for pandemic relief, new
report shows as of this year, forty percent of those
funds are still untapped economists. Van Skin says, well, that
money could be used elsewhere.

Speaker 29 (28:11):
The current amount of money that's still available for COVID

give that money back, and that way it helps to
reduce the federal deficit over time.

Speaker 3 (29:15):
Is a right getting a life insurance policy in Florida.
That's doable. Homeowner's insurance policies, however, getting tough and only
getting tougher here. Here's what's been going on in Florida
and to a lesser extent here in Texas too, as
companies have dropped out of the market feeling that it's
too risky to ensure homes in Florida and Texas. Especially

(29:38):
Florida right now, the government has been forced to step in.
The largest insurer of homeowner policies in Florida right now
is a company called Citizens Insurance. It's run by the
State of Florida. Just like we have Texas Wind in Hail.
That's that's their version of Texas Wind and Hail. The
governor warning on Friday that Citizens Insurance might not survive.

(30:04):
This is the government run insurance might not survive another
major hurricane in Florida, and we've got Milton on its
way to the Greater Tampa area will be highly impacted,
which is one of the big population centers in the state.
So it's heading an area with high dense population that
they had a lot of flooding issues in high surf

(30:25):
problems as a result of Helene, and this might be
the storm that knocks out the state. So if the
private insurers won't insure you because the risk is too high,
and the state goes bankrupt trying to ensure you, what's next?
What's left?

Speaker 7 (30:43):
Disneyland, disney World. I mean it's going to pass south
of Orlando. That means it's going to get the wind.

Speaker 3 (30:49):
Okay, But who who's left to ensure you? If the
state can no longer do it? I think if their
insurance goes insolvent, what happens?

Speaker 7 (30:56):
I think you think the fun Florida?

Speaker 6 (31:01):
No, I don't think so.

Speaker 3 (31:02):
No, you think there's gonna be a few folks moving
from Florida because they can't get insurance. Probably, So let's
hope that doesn't happen here.

Speaker 6 (31:08):
To swoop in and buy up the property.

Speaker 3 (31:10):
Yeah, I wonder black Rocket thing. Maybe Black Rock is
standing by to buy some property. Five forty time for
traffic and weather. Together, we're checking out the drive again.
Here's gonna make better. Put on your hard hats. Let's
go to the hard work in east Side. It's time
to check ship channel bridges.

Speaker 5 (31:26):
As we look at the heart Met Bridge, it's all
pretty and lit up both ways from Baytown to Laport,
and you have eight lanes of fun to get across
the ship channel.

Speaker 4 (31:34):
So that's easy. Toll bridge.

Speaker 5 (31:36):
Let's see, remember all that suckage we had a few
weeks ago southbound, it's gone. We have a whole extra
lane southbound. One of these days we'll have four both ways.
But for now we're just what we are. Six '
ten the Sherman Bridge. Let's go around. Let's go from
the bud Plant southbound turning basin.

Speaker 4 (31:52):
Looks good.

Speaker 5 (31:52):
I don't have a shot from Manchester, but it looks
like nothing's scooching here. Butt Plants to twenty five two
Skymike and the Generator Supercenter, dot Com Traffic Center brobo.

Speaker 3 (32:02):
RKTRH Generator Supercenter, twenty four hour Weather Center. Time to
check in with Terry Smith. YEP, Milton is on its
way to Florida. What are you thinking? I'm hearing CAT
three CAT four somewhere around there by the time it
gets to Florida.

Speaker 21 (32:15):
The official National Hurricane Center projections are for it to
be a high end CAT three, but the conditions, especially
over the Gulf, could allow it to strengthen even further.

Speaker 6 (32:33):
I would a CAT four is not out of.

Speaker 21 (32:35):
The question, and I don't even want to invoke the
idea of something stronger than that. I am so burnt
out on these hurricanes for Florida. I'm burnt out on
the hurricanes, but the ones that have been hitting the
United States, We've had our share. I'd like this to
stop at some point, and I'm sure the people in
Florida feel the same way. So yeah, high end Cat three,

(32:57):
possibly a Cat four, and it's going to hit the
west coast of Florida and a part of Florida that
probably hasn't seen a direct hit from a hurricane in
over one hundred years, So this is going to be
something quite consequential, obviously for the west coast. Nice and
quiet around here, I'll take that. We've got a cold

(33:17):
front on the way, so a little less heat in humidity,
especially starting tomorrow. Today's still going to be warm, low
to mid nineties, and then tonight temperatures in the mid
sixties to the mid seventies and a little bit cooler.
The rest of the week's sunny and dry, upper eighties
to low nineties in the afternoon.

Speaker 3 (33:44):
This is Houston's Morning News, brought to you by New

but even the Department of Homeland Security had Alejandro Majorkiz says,
the FEMA does not have the funds to make it
through the hurricane season. The funds, I don't think to
make it through this upcoming hurricane that's about to hit Florida, Milton.

(34:06):
But it did have six hundred and forty million dollars
to help communities provide children and support for illegal immigrants
around the country. So is this putting Americans first? No,
certainly not well, Doctor Marie Espinosa about that coming up next. First,
we've got traffic and weather together as we check out

Speaker 6 (36:06):
Sorry money the giant to be funny.

Speaker 16 (36:09):
But out today.

Speaker 3 (36:13):
So we spent it all on housing illegal immigrants around
the United States, you know, So we're out of money.
That's that's the story from Alejandro Majorcas, although he doesn't
like talking about the illegal immigrants part. Just the feena
needs more money, That's how he would like to pose it.
We just we need to get fhoena more money. Maria
Espinoza joins us with the Rememberence Project to talk about this.
Certainly not putting Americans first this time?

Speaker 4 (36:35):
Are they?

Speaker 19 (36:36):
Oh?

Speaker 16 (36:36):
Absolutely not.

Speaker 15 (36:37):
And this is just once again, the Biden Harris administration
continues on its path with the illegal aliens first and
Americans last. And people should not stand for this. They
shouldn't allow this government to spend our hard earned tax
dollars on illegal aliens.

Speaker 16 (36:56):
People who don't care about our laws.

Speaker 15 (36:58):
But yet they come with their hand out and expect
it and get it.

Speaker 16 (37:02):
Jimmy.

Speaker 7 (37:02):
Now, this regime has certainly done that in terms of
opening our borders, destroying our borders. You can change that
very quickly in just a month now with a vote.
But what about Congress, I mean, they keep doing these
continuing resolutions, They just keep passing the money through. Congress
has the ability to tighten the purse strings and shut
down these agencies who don't operate the way it should.

Speaker 15 (37:24):
Absolutely good, great point share, because there's not the federal
government in Biden Harris administration aren't the only.

Speaker 16 (37:33):
Solution.

Speaker 15 (37:34):
And here the Republicans, they have to have the courage
to stand the ground and not continue to waste our money.
And again, we're invaded. We have been invaded, and if
we are out of female money, what's going to happen?
Then if they stop supporting these illegal aliens?

Speaker 16 (37:52):
Who expect it?

Speaker 15 (37:54):
And the answer to that is more crime against Americans.
So we are victimized for caring for them, which were
forced to. We're victimized on the end result when they
are here, Our veterans are being kicked out of you know,
their homes, while these illegal aliens are put in luxury hotels.

Speaker 16 (38:16):
That's just absolutely wrong.

Speaker 3 (38:17):
That's a great point that you're making. That maybe is
the worst case scenario that could happen is that they
just run out of money in general to help anybody,
including illegal immigrants, and those people resort to crime. In
some cases they wouldn't resort to crime in order to
be able to make ends meet. It could spike the
crime rate and the whole bunch of other things.

Speaker 6 (38:38):
Crime rate has already Jimmy, Yeah.

Speaker 15 (38:44):
Exactly, and I think it's part of the big plan.
I mean, any monkey can figure that out, you know,
if you don't feed uh, these guys, and some of them,
in my opinion, are savagely already crimes against Americans. And
that's what the Remembrance Project does, is we unfortunately honor

(39:07):
and remember Americans who were killed by illegal aliens. And
in fact, this is perfect timing, Sharon, Jimmy, because we
have the Remembrance Month for Americans killed by illegal aliens.
We expanded President Trump's National Day Remembers that he signed
for US in twenty twenty two, twenty twenty. So we're

(39:27):
asking people to go to our website and send the
proclamation to your governors so that we do not forget
who is important here and it's we, the citizens.

Speaker 7 (39:37):
The citizens need to stand up. I tell you what
they just arrested twenty members of trained Arragua TDA in
San Antonio trying to take over an apartment complex here.
It can be done, but the people have to insist
that their government does it.

Speaker 15 (39:53):
Absolutely and share it's in our front yard. I mean,
citizens are in imminent danger and I am a shock
that we are. We are at this situation where we
are in America, and absolutely President Trump must be re elected.

Speaker 10 (42:46):
President Trump must win to preserve the Constitution. He must
win to preserve democracy in America.

Speaker 7 (42:54):
Musk added, the Democrats want to take away our right

you haven't registered to vote, well, Harris County Clerk Tanisha
Hudspas tells KT your age, it's the deadline today, your

Speaker 12 (43:10):
It's the absolute last day to register to vote. That
means those voter registrations need to be in a county
office to process thought. Maybe you've changed your name, maybe
you have moved and chant your address. Make sure that
you are ready to go.

Speaker 7 (43:24):
Early voting in Texas begins October twenty first. Civil rights
groups are pushing for those states impacted by Hurricane Helene
to extend voter registration deadlines. The date in South Carolina
has been pushed back until a week from today.

Speaker 6 (43:40):
It is now six to oh three.

Speaker 7 (43:41):
The death toll from the hurricane stands at two hundred

federal government's lack of response is under even greater scrutiny.

Speaker 26 (43:52):
I would just tell you at the federal level, this
has been a massive failure. When you talk to the
people who are directly affected, they will tell you that
this has been an abject failure.

Speaker 7 (44:01):
US House Speaker Mike Johnson was on Fox won't help
recovery efforts. As we told you last week, the DHS
Secretary of MAJORCA says FEMA doesn't have enough cash to
get through this entire hurricane season. You know, we've got
another one bearing down in Florida right now.

Speaker 27 (44:19):
Americans are now wondering why FEMA spent hundreds of millions
on illegal aliens.

Speaker 15 (44:23):
Once again, this is the Biden Harris administration, you know,
continuing on its path to place illegal aliens first and
Americans last.

Speaker 27 (44:31):
Maria Espinosa with the Remembrance Project, says there needs to
be consequences for the officials making these decisions.

Speaker 15 (44:37):

Speaker 14 (45:13):
I've seen mister Wells tell us all the things are

Speaker 4 (45:16):
Why didn't they do them before Burrow? Why didn't they
do them?

Speaker 7 (45:21):
Patrick also wants an audit of operations of Center Point.
He says Texas taxpayer should not be stuck with the
bill for Center Points eight hundred million dollar lease agreement
for generators that they didn't bother to use. Hurricane Milton,
as we just mentioned, getting stronger. It's in the Gulf

Speaker 18 (46:20):
Help, to rely on ourselves and rely on our neighbors.
We have to have access to the tools that let
us do that, and the electric battery powered things is
not the way to go. Communal living things is just
not the way to go.

Speaker 7 (46:34):
Yeah, the bureaucracy, in other words, really doesn't care about us.
Looking at our money. Attaining the American dream. It costs
US four point four million dollars over our lifetimes, according
to the website Investipedia. That's owning a house, new cars,
taking week annual vacations. And what about AI. You know,
they say they're coming here to take your job. Well, no,

(46:56):
now they claim not to take your job, just to
make your job better.

Speaker 30 (47:01):
A top MIT economist says AI may only take over
or impact about five percent of all jobs over the
next ten years.

Speaker 19 (47:07):
What AI is going in a lot of situations, it's
going to accelerate the speed at which we get things
done regardless.

Speaker 30 (47:13):
Entrepreneur and futurist Peter Shenkman says, there's no need to

I remember the first electric ones?

Speaker 3 (48:22):
Oh yeah, power ones? Yeah, the power windows. Yeah, that's

to get to the tower windows.

Speaker 6 (48:35):

Speaker 3 (48:38):
Guarantee you that had crank windows. It's the end of

was the last do you remember y'all remember ashtrays in vehicles?

And I found out you can still buy vehicles with ashtrays,
but they're like Aston Martin's and Bentlee's, you know for

I can't remember a vehicle I've had a lighter in

had a lighter in them. Really mine, I haven't don't
have lighters or ash trays or crank windows. And I
got to thinking, do you remember there used to be

a whole generation of young people who have no recollection
of not having it. My mother in law actually still
has a vehicle that has no backup camera. You know,
it's it's not something that I would consider roadworthy or
taking out to drive, but it's still it still exists.
It was mandated that starting I think, I want to

(50:09):
say twenty eighteen that all vehicles had to have backup cameras.

Speaker 4 (50:13):
It was. It's been mandatory since then.

Speaker 16 (50:15):
You know.

Speaker 4 (50:16):
Good.

Speaker 3 (50:16):
So if you have a vehicle that's older than twenty eighteen,
then it may or may not have a backup camera
in it, but they all have them out.

Speaker 7 (50:21):
I drove a five speed BMW that I bought in
nineteen eighty four, and I drove it for ten years
before I uh, and that's the clutch. When was the
last time you drove a vehicle that had a clutch.

Speaker 4 (50:34):
It's spent a long time. I still know how to
do it. I still have.

Speaker 6 (50:38):
I switched to all automatic.

Speaker 4 (50:39):
Yeah, ninety I mean clutches. Did you burn out?

Speaker 18 (50:42):
Well?

Speaker 7 (50:43):
I had replace the clutch. You're driving driving in town, sure,
driving the city? I mean constantly.

Speaker 4 (50:48):
You know those are the days, my friends, that's where went.

Speaker 6 (50:51):
It was the clutch. It was always a clutch.

Speaker 3 (50:53):
It was good the times they have James six eleven,
time for traffic and weather together.

Speaker 5 (50:56):
When you used to give people ask trace for Christmas?

Speaker 3 (51:01):
I remember I remember making ashtrays, pottery ash trays in
the school.

Speaker 4 (51:05):
Dude, do you want to.

Speaker 6 (51:06):
Ask me how many ashtrays I have? I've never gotten rid.

Speaker 5 (51:10):
Of ashtrays from my mother and grandma and at Barbara.

Speaker 4 (51:13):
And then I paint them, you know. Merry Christmas. Let's
go to the north side here.

Speaker 5 (51:19):
We've got a little scoochy on the North Sam westbound.

Speaker 4 (51:22):
And now my secret hack.

Speaker 5 (51:23):
If you're trying to catch a plane, will Clayton Parkway
Uber Mike should be popping in. I want him to
check on Terminal Road, Mike, that's your assignment to this morning.
But the North Sam westbound at Aldien Westfield, we're missing
two left lanes left westbound and then eastbound. That's just
one left lane at Imperial Valley. You could take the
secret hack the Hardy Toll Road Airport connector don't tell

(51:45):
anybody about it. Starting to squish up on the east
Text around the Cemetery Laughter Road southbound. A bit of
a back order slip on the North Freeway, just a
little forty five between Parker and Tidwell.

Speaker 4 (51:55):
I don't want to say things are quiet, but the
song I know.

Speaker 5 (51:58):
We got to watch that tip lines Evan went three
two one two t ips and Terry. Oh man, if
we just didn't have that hurricane, if there's any chance,
because then we could be laughing about Alabama this morning.
I'm in the Generator Supercenter dot Com traffic Center because
I know you think that's funny.

Speaker 4 (52:14):
Oh, it's funny.

Speaker 3 (52:15):
From r Katirih top to Accidvenders twenty four hour whether
sentat Terry Smith is here. Her voice is back, and
a hurricane is on its way to Florida.

Speaker 6 (52:22):
Oh my goodness.

Speaker 21 (52:23):
And we just got a special update from the National
Hurricane Center. They're out there flying around checking it out,
and Milton has strengthened into a Category three hurricane already
with one hundred and twenty mile an hour winds, and
it's going to keep strengthening before it makes landfall. It
looks like category four is in its future, and hopefully

(52:47):
no more than that, but we're gonna have to continue
to monitor it. West coast of Florida, that's the area
that is on high alert for a major hurricane to
head their way sometime Wednesday into Wednesday night. So that's
the latest on Milton. Our weather's nice and quiet. In fact,
we had record heat yesterday and we're right around that

(53:09):
same range of temperatures again today load to mid nineties,
so we may have some records, but there's this col
front sneaking through tonight. No rain with it, but you
will notice the drop in temperature and the drop in humidity.
So tonight temperatures mid sixties to mid seventies, and then
it's sunny and dry the whole rest of the week

(53:29):
and temperatures for the most part in the upper eighties
to low nineties through Friday.

Speaker 3 (53:33):

of the Hamas attack on Israel. We'll talk about it
with Brent Sadler with the Heritage Foundation coming up next,
but first we've got traffic and weather together. That starts
with you, SKay Mike.

Speaker 5 (54:01):
I'm going to pitch from the stretch here. Oh, I've
got something on two eighty eight southbound. I see at
Croy Road. Look at that big Scooch coming down from
Magnolia Parkway.

Speaker 4 (54:09):
This is outbound, not inbound.

Speaker 5 (54:11):
I bet we have some laneage at six thirty and

top stories on this Monday.

Speaker 4 (54:37):
Here's shaff It's six.

Speaker 7 (54:38):
Twenty one now on news Radio seven forty KTRH. Hurricane
Milton gaining strength now a Cat two storm happ still
in the Gulf of Mexico. It's headed for Florida. Maximum
sustained wins one hundred miles an hour. Anti Semitic incidents
in the United States went up by two hundred percent
in the years since the October seven attack on Israel
by Hamas. Last year, six people facing charges including identity theft,

(55:03):
for stealing a check written out to one point two
million dollars to the Bazuka bubblegum company. See what Well,
if you're a big store chain and you're selling bazooka gum, you.

Speaker 6 (55:17):
Gotta pay for it.

Speaker 4 (55:18):
That's a lot of gumm.

Speaker 7 (55:19):
Some big theft. Latest news anytime ktiurage dot com. Our
next update will be at the bottom of the hour.

Speaker 6 (55:26):
I live in southeast Houston.

Speaker 2 (55:28):
Your forecast is at the bottom of the hour by
seven forty ktrh.

Speaker 3 (55:33):
Certainly most of us do stand with Israel. The Biden
administration not quite so much. Brent Sadler joins us at
the Heritage Foundation. It's the one year anniversary of the
horrific attack on October the seventh, Brent, and our policy
is just as muddled with the Biden administration today as
it was last October seventh.

Speaker 28 (55:54):
No, yeah, I think the inability of the current administration
to very clearly nix explicitly support Israel, and the failure
to apply any pressure whatsoever in the real terms on Iran,
on its support to proxies and the terror organization hesbla
Hamas and the who the thees is why we're at
this sad anniversary.

Speaker 7 (56:17):
And how it's being observed around the world. I'm kind
of curious about that I know what we're trying to
do here in this country, how else is it being recognized?

Speaker 6 (56:26):
If at all?

Speaker 7 (56:27):
I know that Hamas and Hesbel are launching more missiles
into Israel.

Speaker 28 (56:32):
Yeah, the war is actually turning, turning into a very
aggressive state. I mean, it's turning in favor of Israel,
but the intensity is actually, you know, coming to a
culminating point. Israel's in the early stages of a ground
incursion into southern Lebanon. They've been very effective at decapitating Hesbelah,
but we also saw the larger of two mass missile

(56:57):
attacks from Iran into Israel just recently last week. And
the world is waiting, I think, most notably the Mullahs
in Tehuan are waiting for a response from Israel that
many anticipate will be significant.

Speaker 3 (57:11):
And if that does happen, what do you suspect will
happen next? You know, there's a lot of talk about
a potential World War three. Are you concerned about that
or do you think that this is going to remain
strictly in the Middle East region of the world.

Speaker 4 (57:23):
Well, I think the powers that.

Speaker 28 (57:26):
Would see this potentially go into ur would fight a
world war. China Russia have their hands full in other areas,
and so no, I think this will stay constained. I
don't think it'll directly bring in the United States in
an offensive action against Iran, because Iran also doesn't want
to pick a fight with the United States right now

(57:47):
by attacking our forces directly, which would be that red
line triggering an American attack. I think Israel is vindicated
if it attacks. I think it's got several potential targets.
The most challenging and risky and the longest would to
go after is Iran's nuclear programs. But there are other

(58:07):
options on the table that I think would further isolate
the Iranians and also taking out their oil, takes away
their money.

Speaker 7 (58:14):
Have we conveniently forgotten most of the American people that
it was our government, this regime that lifted the sanctions
against Iran, that in the last night of Obama's presidency,
flew in a bunch of palace of cash to Iran.
They funded all this terror Hesbola and Iran on American dogars.

Speaker 28 (58:37):
Yeah, I mean, it's a you know, ideology. First seems
to be this national security team's approach, because history definitely
proves that appeasement doesn't lead to peace.

Speaker 4 (58:49):
It only comes through.

Speaker 28 (58:49):
Strength, and this administration has refused to acknowledge that. And
it's actually worse than removing sanctions. They're not enforcing sanctions
that are still in place. And even more to the point,
they've actually encouraged other nations to release funds and the
tunes of tens of billions of dollars to.

Speaker 32 (59:09):
The regime in Tehran.

Speaker 28 (59:10):
So the the molas are flush and cash. So no
surprise that they've actually continued to support in a more
aggressive and much greater scale in the last year or
two their proxies, which is the preferred way of exercising
influence and coersion.

Speaker 3 (59:28):
Yeah, again, thanks to us. All right, Brent, thank you,
appreciate your time. Bret Sadler with the Heritage Foundation, it's
six twenty six. It is time to take a look
at your money.

Speaker 33 (59:36):
Karen Muscow's in well, Jimmy, it looks like the rally
we saw on Friday may fizzle today. Futures are lower
and treasury yields are climbing, with yields on the ten
and two year back at four percent or levels we
haven't seen since August. Meanwhile, SMP futures are down about
half percent. Oil is jumping. Goldman Sachs is predicting Brent
could jump to ninety dollars a barrel if exports from

(59:58):
around are disrupted, with the extent of the price game
contingent upon whether Opek offsets the laws supply. I'm Karen

Speaker 3 (01:00:27):
Six thirty our time, Houston's Morning News. I'm Jimmy Barren
along with Sheriff Fryar. Among her top stories this half hour,
both Amus and hesblon launching rockets into Israel. It's the
anniversary of the last year's major terrorist attack and coming
up at six thirty eight, oil prices up nine percent
in the last week. Are they about to go even higher?
Those stories are more coming up in the minutes ahead. First, though,

(01:00:50):
let's get you an update on the drive with sky Mike.

Speaker 5 (01:00:52):
All right, we got rainage on two eighty eight southbound
Croy Road or County Road fifty eight. That is two
left lanes. Thank you, trans Star. I've let the pretty
ladies on TV. Note and Tammy may get me an

will be calling me complaining about the east text elevated.
We already have suckage at equipment southbound.

at the entire workweek, which looks sunny and dry. When
we talk to Terry Smith at the Weather Channel in
about nine minutes. Temperature right now is seventy one at
your official severe weather station, News Radio seven forty k TRH.

Speaker 4 (01:01:47):
It's time now for the news. Here's Sheriff Fryer.

Speaker 7 (01:01:50):
It's six thirty one on news Radio seven forty k TRH.

Speaker 6 (01:01:53):
Our top story this hour.

Speaker 7 (01:01:54):
Hamas marking the one year anniversary of its era attack
on Israel by launching more into the Jewish state, injured
two people overnight. Meantime, at least thirty five rockets fired
at Israel by Hesbela as we slept nine people injured
in a Hesbela rocket attack yesterday. Meantime, White House is

(01:02:14):
and what Israel to target nuclear sites in Iran and
retaliation for that massive a week ago, that massive missile attack,
one hundred and eighty nine missiles, hypersonic missiles launched at Israel,
And that's not sitting well with Republicans.

Speaker 14 (01:02:30):
The Biden and Harris or flexive response is always cease fire,
don't escalate, take the win. What we should do is
very simple, back Israel to the hilt and let Israel win.

Speaker 7 (01:02:44):
Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton there. As we mentioned, it's been
a full year now since the Hamas terrorist attacks against Israel.
It sparked what has become basically a major war now
in the Middle East.

Speaker 28 (01:02:57):
This is one war, but there's actually several. Gaza is
just one Pezible as another one the who these are
another Iraq and Syria, Iran proxy's fighting against our troops
as well as supporting attacks on Israel.

Speaker 6 (01:03:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (01:03:10):
Britt Sadler with the Heritage Foundation there, he told us
that there are around five or ten Americans still being
held hostage now by Hamas in Gaza. Some have already
been killed, but their bodies haven't been released. Texas Governor
Greg Abbott has called for a statewide day of observance
to honor the victims of October seventh. He's ordered flags

(01:03:30):
to be flown at half staff, and he's asking religious
leaders to light a candle at their next service. It's
six point thirty three Harris Wall's campaign continuing to play
both sides against the middle when it comes to Israel.

Speaker 4 (01:03:43):
We have been clear Israel has the right to defend itself.
We've always stood in that position.

Speaker 7 (01:03:48):
Minnesota governor on Fox Yes, the VP candidate. Different tone
from Kamala Harris, though she went out of her way
to duck questions about the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netsan Yahoo.

Speaker 34 (01:04:01):
The work that we have done has resulted in a
number of movements in that region by Israel that were
very much prompted by many things, including our advocacy for
what needs to happen in the region.

Speaker 6 (01:04:17):
Do you know what she said?

Speaker 7 (01:04:18):
Harris was on sixty minutes six thirty four is our time,
Harris Donald Trump both making speeches about Israel today, but
Trump is focusing on the suffering in North Carolina as
well in the wake of femus botched response or lack
of to Hurricane Helene this weekend.

Speaker 9 (01:04:37):
If you want a president who won't even try to
save you when the floodwaters arising, vote for Kamala.

Speaker 4 (01:04:45):
She's not the right person.

Speaker 7 (01:04:46):
That was Trump, on his return to Butler, Pennsylvania's Slight
Sight of the July thirteenth assassination attempt, campaign says the
rally drew some one hundred five thousand people. You ought
to see those photos. We're going to have more from
that rally, including Elon Musk making an appearance. That's at
seven am. The death toll from Hurricane Helene now at
two thirty two. Hundreds of thousands remain without power this morning,

(01:05:10):
and now Florida is also bracing for Hurricane Milton to
make landfall somewhere south of Tampa. Is the way it's
projected right now? Is expected? Oh, it is now has
just been upgraded again. Jimmy A cat at three storm,
the winds hitting one hundred and twenty miles an hour,

(01:05:31):
the sustained winds, it's devastating. Six thirty five is our time.
Deficits are piling up in the federal government. They're still
trying to spend more unused COVID money, deficit money, borrowed money.

Speaker 35 (01:05:47):
A watchdog report find state and local governments have only
spent sixty percent of recovery funds doled out during the pandemic,
with two more years to spend the rest. Economistvanskin says,
with the pandemic long over, the rest of this unspent
money should be given back.

Speaker 29 (01:06:00):
We really do have a spending crisis happening at the
federal level, and unfortunately, with these COVID.

Speaker 4 (01:06:06):
Funds at the state level, if they.

Speaker 29 (01:06:07):
Cheat them, which they likely will, they are wasting scare
taxpayer money.

Speaker 35 (01:06:11):
Instand local governments are using these funds on various things
like buying new equipment, plugging budget deficits, or creating new
government programs. Corey Jolson News Radio seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 6 (01:06:22):
Six point thirty six.

Speaker 7 (01:06:23):
Now, as deficits pile up, the federal government, as I said,
still planning to do that, but what about you have
you borrowed money? Bank Rate analyzed data on one hundred
and fifty two different college majors and guess what. People
who studied STEM courses showed the most promise For graduates.

Speaker 36 (01:06:42):
SEM majors often lead to higher salaries because of the
high demand for STEM professionals and the skills learned in
those disciplines. We generally have seen growth in STEM jobs
over the last ten years, and we're producted to continue
to see growth.

Speaker 18 (01:06:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (01:06:58):
Analyst Alex Gale says that STEM majors made up the
top fifteen of the most valuable college majors in their
rankings based on median annual salaries and unemployment race.

Speaker 6 (01:07:11):
The new US Supreme Court.

Speaker 7 (01:07:12):
Term officially gets underway today, twenty eight cases on the
docket thus far and more expected.

Speaker 11 (01:07:20):
And Sharraf first step out of the gate a challenge
to the Biden Harris ghost guns rule the.

Speaker 37 (01:07:26):
Biden ministries and essentially wants these to be subject to
the same rules background checks rather than just anybody being
able to buy a kit online.

Speaker 11 (01:07:34):
That is Caitlin Richardson reporter with a daily caller as
for here in Texas will be the peign age verification law.

Speaker 37 (01:07:42):
That case challenges Texas law, and nineteen other states have
passed some more laws.

Speaker 11 (01:07:48):
Another key case Tennessee's ban on transgender procedures for minors.

Speaker 4 (01:07:54):
Chuff Biggs, News Radio seven forty k t or H.

Speaker 7 (01:07:58):
Six point thirty seven is our time. Well the Texas
Longhorns one without even playing this weekend, they had to
buy number one in the polls again. Alabama got shocked
by Vanderbilt Saturday night. Aggie's also made a big jump
of the polls to fourteenth and the coaches poll fifteenth.
In the Top AP Top twenty five. After beating what

(01:08:18):

the very leader the presidential election.

Speaker 3 (01:08:40):
On news radio seven forty KTRH. He's a right Phil Flyinn.
You remember we've had Phil on the show many times.
I saw him on Fox over the weekend. Oil went
up about nine percent last week in the speculation we
could see similar games over the course of the next
few weeks of because of what's going on in the
Middle East right now here is I'm Fox talking about

(01:09:00):
the price of oil.

Speaker 4 (01:09:01):
I'm afraid Sean.

Speaker 31 (01:09:02):
It could be a major price spike and basically a
potential damage to the economy cad ad inflation.

Speaker 4 (01:09:11):
And it's a crisis that didn't have to happen.

Speaker 32 (01:09:14):
You know.

Speaker 31 (01:09:14):
One of the reasons why we're so vulnerable right now
is that the Biden administration has drawn down the Strategic
Petroleum Reserve to a forty year low. They misuse the
reserve if you don't have that cushion, you know, now
we're going to be looking to opek, you know, to
make up the difference if we lose Iranian oil production.
And while the world might be able to afford to
lose Iran, we're not going to be able to lose

(01:09:36):
one more drop. And if we do, believe it or not,
America is going to be really feeling it here at home.
The US shell miracle, you know that mister ham was part.

Speaker 4 (01:09:45):
Of, really changed the world.

Speaker 31 (01:09:47):
Right you know, years ago, when I was growing up,
you know, we were worried about you know, OLDPEC cutting
off our supplies.

Speaker 4 (01:09:54):
That was always hanging over our head.

Speaker 31 (01:09:56):
But the US technology change all that and if you
look at the way we've reversed that over the last
couple of years, it's absolutely mind boggling. And listen, we
had one of the biggest economic advantages in the world.
You know, we should be opening up manufacturing and being
able to power our factories and create jobs with low
energy prices. But the administration is stepping away from that.

(01:10:18):
It's absolute madness. You know, he was handed one of
the biggest gifts in history. Instead he's letting US oil
production basically peak out and it's going to start to
fall unless we get a change at the White House.

Speaker 3 (01:10:31):
All right, met, Well, let's we get that change, because
it'll be drill, baby, drill if we do.

Speaker 7 (01:10:35):
Yeah, he promises he'll bring it down fifty cost of
energy in one year's time.

Speaker 4 (01:10:41):
That would be huge for the economy.

Speaker 7 (01:10:42):
So he met with some oil industry folks when he
was here in Horeston last week.

Speaker 3 (01:10:46):
For sure, he did six forty time for traffic and
leather together for Christmas. What do you want for Christmas?

Speaker 33 (01:10:51):
Time?

Speaker 5 (01:10:51):
Everybody give me an ash tray. I'm gonna put him
all in the ghetto house yaka coma, make you one,
make me one out of clay.

Speaker 4 (01:10:58):
All right, you already know about the two eighty eight thing.
It's outbound, not inbound Croy Road. I'll get to that first.

Speaker 5 (01:11:04):
I want everybody to look out for this hazard on
the Hardy Toll worad. This is outbound at Riley Fuzzle,
which is fun to say. It's right before all that
crazy merging those of you trying to get onto the
Grand Parkway. This is Hardy Toll Road, northbound stall in
the left lane.

Speaker 4 (01:11:18):
It's really dark there too, so look out. All right.

Speaker 5 (01:11:20):
Now, let's get down to two eighty eight. That's gonna
hurt southbound Croy Road. It's two left lanes. I hope
everybody's okay with this wreck. Big backups coming down from
Pearland right after Broadway you hit a twenty minute wall
o breaks.

Speaker 4 (01:11:33):
This is outbound, not inbound northbound.

Speaker 5 (01:11:35):
I am seeing a bit of a squish Highway six
probably rubbernecking here. I'm always warning you about the north
Sam watch out for other stations. Listeners not paying attention
at Imperial Valley and it happened you have that squeeze
down with the road work. It's a left lane here.
We are now taking two center lanes. Everybody's okay, it's
a pretty light show. And we're backed up from elaging
that way eastbound and then westbound the other way Aldean Westfield.

Speaker 4 (01:11:56):
It's just suckage because we lose two lanes going that way.

Speaker 5 (01:11:59):
Sky Mike in the classic Buick GMC Traffic Center from
r KTRH Generators super Center, twenty four hour Weather Center.

Speaker 3 (01:12:07):
Terry Smith is here with the latest on Milton. I
understand Milton just hit Cat three.

Speaker 21 (01:12:12):
Terry, Yes, The Hurricane Center is out there checking it out,
and the latest update is it has rapidly intensified up
to one hundred and twenty mile an hour sustained wind,
so that makes it a category three hurricane easily on
its way to a Category four hurricane. Here's the thing,
I don't want to focus so much on what the

(01:12:33):
category it specifically is, but more so on the rapid
intensification that we're going to see and likely the historic
nature of what will happen along the west coast of
Florida if it continues to evolve as the indications are
right now with our forecast models with winds up to

(01:12:54):
one hundred and forty five miles an hour. It's almost
approaching a Cat five storm, So that just tells you
how strong this storm is. Looks like landfall right now,
sometime late Wednesday.

Speaker 6 (01:13:05):
Into Thursday night.

Speaker 21 (01:13:07):

Cher was just talking about how Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan
Patrick showed up at the Public Utility Commission of Texas
Public Hearing here in Houston Public Hearing and workshop. What
shall we workshop? Let's workshop this issue the commission was there,
Lieutenant Governor said he has heard from businesses now who

(01:28:01):
are reluctant to move to Houston because they don't know
how long it would take to get the power back
if a storm should hit.

Speaker 4 (01:28:10):
That's a legitimate concern.

Speaker 3 (01:28:12):
But I'm not quite sure again why, although he did
kind of grill the Public Utility commissioners themselves, why he's
putting all the heat on Center Point getting rid of
their CEO. I mean, I can understand that, you know,
we're not real happy with the CEO to begin with,
based if nothing else, on his background with Pacific Gas

(01:28:32):
and Electric before he ever took over at Center Point.
But at the end of the day, the buck is
supposed to start up. Stop brother. With the Public Cutility Commission,
there are five commissioners, all appointed by the governor to
six year terms. They are Lori Cabos, She's a commissioner,
Thomas Gleeson, he's the chairman, Jimmy Aglotfeldti he's a commissioner,

(01:28:53):
Kathleen Jackson, she's a commissioner, and Courtney Joltman also a commissioner.
So if their job is to make sure that Center
Point is doing its job and not overcharging and taking
care of the things that're supposed to take care of.
Why aren't we spending more time calling out the governor
to reappoint the commission for the Public Cutility Commission? If

(01:29:17):
they serve at his leisure? Does he not have the
right to fire them? Can he fire them at will?

Speaker 4 (01:29:22):
Shara?

Speaker 3 (01:29:23):
Can you just decide? Yep, I think we need a
new Public Cutility Commission. I'm firing all five. We're gonna
start over. Is that within if he has the ability
to appoint them, I assume he has the ability to
fire them.

Speaker 6 (01:29:36):
You point them to terms. I don't know.

Speaker 7 (01:29:38):
You know, it's kind of like you appoint somebody to
a judge term. You don't hire and fire, you know,
I'm not sure.

Speaker 3 (01:29:45):
Interesting, it seems to me we should have that component
available if it turns out that the people you appoint
aren't getting the job done, that you have the ability
to say, well, I'm going to reappoint the commission. But
get I donle hear everybody calling for that. Why is
that seven eleven time for traffic and weather together, we're
checking out the drive again the Governor's office. I think

Well, it is a major hurricane actually, one hundred and
twenty five miles hour staying twins.

Speaker 6 (01:31:37):
All right.

Speaker 21 (01:31:38):
It just keeps getting stronger, and it's gonna stay like
this as it continues to make its way gradually through
the Gulf of Mexico and head toward the west coast
of Florida. Maximum sustained winds right now one hundred and
twenty five miles an hour. That makes it a Category three,
likely to get even stronger before it does make landfall
sometime late Wednesday into Thursday. More round the Tampa Bay

(01:32:01):
area between Tampa Bay Sarasota north of Maples. That's where
the cone is showing the direct impacts. But the entire
peninsula of Florida is going to feel either the rain
the wind. The west coast will experience some surge. It
could be monstrous surge for the Tampa Bay area. So

we'll see how that pans out. Nice and quiet around here, thankfully,

You are cheaper commute coming up every ten minutes on
the tens Harris County Clerk Kenisha Hudsbeth joins us, Welcome
to the show.

Speaker 3 (01:35:22):
Good to have you back on today. You've got to
get it do as far as registration goes, and then
early voting starts when October twenty first.

Speaker 12 (01:35:29):
October twenty first, good morning, thank you for having me on.
Today is the absolute last day to register to vote,
and I know there's a lot of efforts going on
around the county, so at voters are needing to double
check their voter registration. They can simply go to Harris
Votes and cut the voter registration tab or call the
voter registrar's office to be sure their information is up

(01:35:51):
to date. And again, October twenty first is the first
day of early voting and November first is the last day,
twelve whole day to early vote, with extended hours and
over eighty locations to early vote at Harris's Votes. You
can go find the nearest location to you. Voters can
vote absolutely anywhere during that period of time, and this

(01:36:12):
is definitely the election you might want to early vote.
October twenty fifth is the deadline if you are applying
to vote by mail.

Speaker 7 (01:36:21):
Okay, I have a question, because you have to orchestrate
all of this what happens on during the actual election
itself at the various precincts. How much oversight do you
have or is it just a matter of taking what
the precinct judges and the various precincts give you. Because
we've had reports about an uneven balance of pole watchers

(01:36:42):
between Democrats and Republicans. I mean, how secure are the
polling locations themselves and how much oversight do you have
over any of that?

Speaker 12 (01:36:53):
Yes, well, as you all know, the County Clerk here
in Harritts County is the chief election official. We do
heavily depend on election workers la Fairs County and we
hire thousands of individuals on during early voting and election day.
Those individuals are appointed by the two political parties here
in Hammon County, the Democratic and Republican Party, and they're

(01:37:13):
trained in terms of oversight. Our office is connected to
what's going on at the polling locations from a system perspective,
So we have poll workers and those election judges are hired.
So in terms of security at those polling locations. We
know that vote centers are used throughout the county. Now
we don't own those facilities per se, but those facilities

(01:37:35):
go into contract with the County Clerk's office, agreeing to
all the security measures that the Texas Election Co provides.
So in terms of oversight, you all should know we
hire election techs that are hired to be at every
single polling location. That is an additional cushion to be
able to address any technical issues anything that our office

(01:37:57):
needs to know in real time to be able to address.
And then again we have texts that are and employees
that are rovering around and the county throughout voting to
be able to address as measures. You all should know
that we also have a security task Force that includes
all of our law enforcement agencies to be able to
address any security needs in this election. We definitely have

(01:38:19):
increased the presence of that for this election site. So
I do have oversight in terms of the election. I
cannot control election workers per se, but if there are
issues that come up we have to address, we do
do that with the support of our Election task Force
and County Attorney. So this election voter should know that
we're prepared. We've been preparing all years since January. As

(01:38:41):
a matter of fact, Harris County is the third largest
county in the nation, and the largest of Texas.

Speaker 4 (01:38:45):
So it takes us about.

Speaker 12 (01:38:46):
Eight months to a year to prepare for the super
Bowl of elections, which is a presidential and so we've
worked very hard to make sure that we have backup
measures in case of weather events, and you know, we
hope that there are no weather events and we're able
to get through voting very soon. But this year has
been kind of a rough one until we are moved

(01:39:09):
into a new elections headquarters that will handle that impact
and then we have energy as a backup in case
of any emergency this election cycle.

Speaker 3 (01:39:16):
Well, Denisia, love me quickly ask you, because we're about
out of time here. Do you have plenty of paper
and you're prepared to move it around if you need to.

Speaker 12 (01:39:24):
We have tons of paper, enough paper to hit the
filling if we have to, but we won't. There won't
be stacks of paper.

Speaker 16 (01:39:29):
To this filling.

Speaker 12 (01:39:30):
I'm saying that jokingly. We have in terms of paper
inventory has been tremendously important to me. You all should
know we were able to minimize the amount of paper
that voters have to print on because we did a
software upgrade. When I to the reigns of voting here
in Harrison County, and so every location will be over
allocated in terms of paper. That will be a concern.

(01:39:52):
And again we have those election texts also within a
five mile radius of every single posal location. And the
case that to turnout is you know, very very high,
and we need to get additional resources there. So thank
you for that question. More than n s paper. Voters
do not have to be worried about that at all.

Speaker 4 (01:40:08):
Glad to hear that.

Speaker 3 (01:40:09):
Thank you for joining us this morning, Harris County Clerk

Our top story this hour on this anniversary date of
the October seven terrorist attack on Israel. We've got two
people heard in a Hamas rocket attack on the Jewish
State overnight. HESWLA also fired more rockets at Israel overnight
and at least thirty five of them. It comes after

another attack yesterday in which nine people were wounded, a
rocket hitting a restaurant in the northern port city of Haifa.
It goes on Biden Harris regime, though has told the
Israelis not to target Iran's nuclear sites in retaliation of
that massive Iranian missile attack last week. Republicans like Iowa
Senator Jony Ernst disagree.

Speaker 40 (01:43:13):
If I were sitting in a position of power in Israel, yes,
it is something that I most certainly would consider.

Speaker 6 (01:43:21):
Ernst was on Fox.

Speaker 7 (01:43:24):
It's the one of year anniversary, as I said, the
Hamas attack on Israel. It killed nearly twelve hundred people
the terrorist did. Hundreds more were taken hostage and still held.

Speaker 27 (01:43:35):
Even after a full year. There are still Americans trapped
by Hamas.

Speaker 28 (01:43:39):
We had several dozen Americans that were killed on that day,
and we have anywhere from five to six Americans that
are still being held in Gaza.

Speaker 27 (01:43:48):
Brent Sadler with the Heritage Foundation told kt H this
is a tragic example of the Biden administration's weakness.

Speaker 28 (01:43:54):
This administration has given concessions to the aggressor and applied
pressure to the AGREEF party in Israel. It should be
no surprise that the fighting continues.

Speaker 6 (01:44:03):
Sadler says.

thirty four on the campaign trail. If you needed any
more proof that Kamala Harris can't speak without her teleprompter,

(01:44:34):
well listen to this. Her prompter went down at her
Michigan rally this weekend.

Speaker 41 (01:44:40):
All right, thirty two days and we know we will
do it, and and this is gonna be a very
tight race until the very end.

Speaker 18 (01:44:56):

Speaker 29 (01:46:27):
The current amount of money that's still available for COVID

give that money back, and that way it helps to
reduce the federal deficit over time.

Speaker 23 (01:49:05):
I'm confident will be free and fair. I don't know
whether it'll be peaceful.

Speaker 1 (01:49:10):
Can you talk about how your vice president, who is
running for the presidency has worked on these crises.

Speaker 23 (01:49:15):
I'm in constant contact with her. She's aware, we're we're
we're singing from the same song sheet. She helped pass
all the laws of being employed now, she was a
major player and everything we've done.

Speaker 4 (01:49:28):
Joe Biden is a lame duck.

Speaker 20 (01:49:31):
So we're shocked when he pops up and he wanted
credit for the port strike resolution and he couldn't let
Kamala have it. Kamala was going on TV. Biden watched
her wander on the TV, and he had to go
out there and get credit because at this point he's
just worried about his legacy.

Speaker 3 (01:49:48):
And that's all he has left there. You go, now,
as far as the port strike goes, a bunch's eyes
surmised last week. You know, they're we got to settle.
This strike is over. Yeah, it's all it is, is delayed.
Do not be surprised to see another port strike coming
in January. January fifteenth, when this next contract expires. If
the long shoreman don't get the Maritime Alliance to agree

(01:50:12):
to eliminate all automation from our ports, which is not
going to happen, then don't be surprised if that's when
the walkout happens, because it'll either happen after the election
and the new administration has gone in, or Trump will
have taken off, or it'll potentially happen in his watch.
Not that he couldn't make it end. I'm sure he

(01:50:33):
would be very aggressive about either getting it settled or
making it end. We'll find out seven forty dive for

Let's go to the east loop six ' ten clear

now after Market Street, that is we're looking at an

Speaker 4 (01:50:57):
It's all I know.

Speaker 5 (01:50:58):
I do the toll bridge instead of you can. That's
a better way around. These backups will go away shortly,
but I don't think they'll completely eliminate. Two twenty five

A lot of breaks here. Do we have a stall

Speaker 21 (01:51:55):
So yeah, our records are ninety five degrees both at
bush in or Continental and Hobby and that was set
on both of them back in nineteen fifty six. So
we're going to be in that vicinity. We'll see if
we get there. But after today it'll be a little
bit cooler, which will be a nice change of pace
along with less humid and not a drop of rain.
The rest of the week load to mid nineties today.

(01:52:17):
You'll notice the cooler temperatures tonight mid sixties to mid
seventies for most of us, and then Uper eightis to
low nineties tomorrow, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. So yeah, a
little bit of fall is finally here.

Speaker 6 (01:52:31):
And maybe it'll stay.

Well. Let's hope we get some rain though, because we

Speaker 5 (01:53:42):
Let's go to the east Loop sixteen southbound. That's the

They cleared the wreck. It's gone, but I think these

Speaker 4 (01:53:52):
So let's do the toll bridge instead.

Speaker 16 (01:55:52):
Absolutely, George.

Speaker 44 (01:55:53):
We again, we moved resources in before this storm happened.
We embedded our staff in the state to work side

how long we're going to have to provide this level
of sustained support.

Speaker 16 (01:56:12):
We will continue to do that.

Speaker 43 (01:56:16):
Let's talk about some of the misinformation that is out there,
including these claims some former President Trump that FEMA is
about a billion dollar short because money has been going
to undocumented immigrants. Also that the areas of the Republican
areas of the state are being intentionally ignored in some fashion.

Speaker 44 (01:56:34):
Yeah, it's frankly ridiculous and just plain false. This kind
of rhetoric is not helpful to people. You know, it's
really a shame that we're putting politics head of helping people,
and that's what we're here to do. We have had
the complete support of the state. We've had the local

did was fly over. And when he flew over, all
he did was shut down the ability to put up
