Speaker 1 (00:00):
Usky's a one ten to forty seven winner over the
UMass Lowll Riverhawks. Paul Roper with you in the lear
Field Network Studios Time out of Here from U CUT
head coach Dan Hurley, sponsored by new Face Home Improvements.
Your home is like our home and you facect dot com.
So we said it back to Harford where coach Hurley
is speaking to the media.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
The I just felt we showed an appropriate level of
anger and a mindset of like a redemption Friday, just
relative to the you know, the first official game performance.
You know, I was I was pleased to see the

(00:41):
level of defensive intensity that we were able to sustain
for probably you know, eighty percent of the game, eighty
five percent of the game. We're probably able to sustain that,
and and.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
That's because of the depth.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
Yeah, I just thought it was an appropriate level of
playing mad playing, being embarrassed with the first game performance
and you know, taking it out on an opponent at
the defensive end of the court, which is you know,
where it all begins and ends, And it just felt good.
It'd been you know, we didn't have really a game
like that last year. I mean, we won some games

(01:17):
by a considerable margin but there was a level of
of of dominance where this team has now told on
itself relative to what it's capable of at the defensive end,
you know, especially as we get healthier and Taris could
play you know, more extended minutes and as you know,
Braillon's getting closer to getting back and Furfee so and

(01:38):
I got a lot of respect for ums Lovewell. I
got a lot of respect for their program. They got
a lot of new guys. Uh. You know, Pat does
an awesome job. He's he's a he's a great, great
coach and a great basketball guy. I think we uh,
you know, we caught him in and this was a
good year to play him with such a big turnover
with his team.

Speaker 3 (01:56):
So that's it.

Speaker 4 (02:00):
And you had uh Geral take on charge of your
thirty uh out dying for a loose ball of sixty
who lay the game? I mean that what you're talking
about just in terms of uh you know, you you've
used the term foot on the gas. Do you do
you actually use that for as tonight or is that
even necessary?

Speaker 2 (02:15):
I mean no, I just think that there were so
many reminders. I mean, there's so many things we've done
in the last few days with them. The video sessions
were obviously crushing and long. Uh and they went multiple
days cause there was so much footage of bad from
New Haven.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
You know.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
There were posters throughout the building of players not helping
each other on defense. There were all types of statistics
of players getting scored on and not making identity hustle plays,
and and then there was also a lot of talk
of just uh, you know, to to you know, what

(02:54):
is that too much as given? Much as expected? You know,
we invest a lot these players to come out and
perform to their absolute maximum and give everything they got.
I mean that these players are very well resourced. I
think they owe it to the university. They owe it
to each other, They owe it to the coaching staff,

(03:16):
they owe it to the fan base, they owe it to.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
The donor, and.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
They owe it to a lot of people to go
out and play on game night and practice every day
to the absolute max for all the resources that are
invested in them. So that should be every night and
every practice A players should show up and play to
the level of effort that they played with tonight.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
That's not a one off.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
If they can't provide that, I'm gonna get their ass
out of the game.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
Yeah, I mean it helped everybody. It helped Eric's performance.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
It allowed Eric to kind of slide into the Donovan
freshman situation where you know, he had a doma out
there that you know, you know, pave the way, you know,
for him to be in a more comfortable position. But
you could see the impact on the defense, the impact
on the offense.

Speaker 3 (04:19):
Uh, you know, and he was.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
On the minutes restriction here, so you know, we'll be
able to bump that up. And you know, I think
we wanted to keep him at twenty. Now he can
go and I'd imagine we'll extend that out another five
to eight minutes because he felt great and so he
makes a big difference on both ends on the backboard.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
He's one of the best big guys in the country,
all right.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
So that's Dan Hurley who gave us the blueprint and
how to fire up a team after what he deemed
was a disappointing performance in their season opening when he
gets New Haven while he come back and defeat U
massel All by the score of one ten to forty seven. Again,
the postgame comments from head coach Dan Hurley sponsored by
New Face Home Improvements, your home is like our home
and you facect dot com And I was coach Hurley

(05:10):
speaking to the media following Yukon's one ten to forty
seven win over you, massolole

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
