Speaker 1 (00:00):
Yeah, thank you very much, Bob. And this is a
good place to kind of paint a picture for everybody.
As we're standing here, you've got seniors walking out. They've
taken the name plates off of their lockers, and that's
kind of the finality of it. There's still a road
game next week, there is a bowl game to be had,
But senior day, what did those emotions feel like for you?

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Well, you know, haven't spent four years here now every
year it just gets a little bit deeper and more
emotional because there's guys you spent more time with and
the things that they've been able to accomplish. And then
the guys that have come into this program, you know
as transfers, and the way they integrated themselves into this
program and just embrace what we were all about and
the value add was amazing. So you try to put

(00:43):
those emotions away until after the game. But like you said,
you see these guys walking out, it's the last time
they're going to probably play was for sure, play at
the rent. Hopefully they come back as a lums and
come to our games and all. But it's sobering. It's sobering.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
The win though you come out with the ten point victory.
How do you think the team accepted what had happened
in the first half and was able to go out
and seal off those thirty.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
Minutes outstanding, you know. And I got to give a
lot of credit to our defense today, you know. I
mean they you know, they worked the ball up and
down the field a little bit, but we got stops,
and we had to get stops, and then our offense
came out in the second half and had that drive
to score and then we were able to put it
away at the end. And that's what it's all about.
So I think we showed toughness and resilience and character
and all those things that you're looking for in a

(01:27):
good football team.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
Cam Chadwick and Donovan Branch and Umar Diamande. I'm listening
guys that probably need an ice bath. I'm sure they're
accountless more that we don't even know about. It's game
number eleven. What does it say about those guys who
just found a way to try and stay on the field.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
Well, I mean it was a physical game. I mean,
you know, you're playing that type of offense and they
just you know, run it every down and just try
to pound you and they've got big, physical backs and
they're disciplined and tough. I mean they represent the United
States of America. I mean they are are protectors. So yeah,
we're gonna have to heal up and we'll go do
the best we can to get everyone back. This week.
We have an important game Saturday on the road at

(02:03):
FAU and then guys will have a little break where
they'll get a chance to heal before we find out
what bowl we go to.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
Four carries for fifteen yards for Cam Edwards in the
first half, twenty carries for one hundred and fifty yards
in the second half. What more can he do? And
what might be his final game here at the Rent.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
It's just balance, you know. We've talked a lot about balance.
I don't know what else he could do. I mean,
he's a heartbeat of this team, you know. I Mean
there's a lot of guys Joe and Skyler and Damon
and Donnie, but Cam is like our toughness, you know.
And when he's doing that, I mean everybody just feeds
off it.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
Last year six and one at home, you managed to
do a little bit better than that. This year six
and zero at home just the third time in the
stadium's history, a team's gone undefeated. What allows the group
to be so focused and not allow the distractions of
being at home get to them.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
It's not a team that I've found to be easily distracted,
whether we're at home on the road. Certainly, the routine.
You know, if coming into a place where you're comfortable
in the locker room, that you're comfortable on a field
that's fantastic, and comfortableent in front of your fans. I
think it just gives us a lot of confidence. When
you win games at home, you know that confidence compounds,
So I think that's what it is.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
Congrats on the winm We'll talk to you next week.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
Okay. Thanks,

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
