Speaker 1 (00:00):
Thank you, Bob. Coach a game like this in front
of a crowd like this, what are the emotions that
you get to feel looking at the room of guys
who just accomplished a pretty I'd say good, feel good win.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
Yeah. I mean, it's just it's kind of why you
coach college football, you know, because you get to experience
moments like this with young men that you really care
about and that are invested in this program the way
they are, and so it's it's a good feeling. And
I'm just really happy for our players and the way
they hung in there and showed resilience and kept coming back,
and you know, it was really today was kind of
an application of all lessons learned this year and put

(00:38):
it into action.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
Thirty eight in attendance. What was it like being able
to play in front of that kind of crowd, loud,
largest crowd since twenty thirteen.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
I mean, like I've always said, and I'll say it again,
we love it when there's people at our games. And
if there people aren't there, then you know, that's that's
fine too. It's a harder and money, but we always
appreciate the crowd. I think that I was pretty oblivious
to it mostly game, but when when we needed him
at the end and they were great. Don't get me
wrong when I say oblivious to it, I'm not saying
I didn't know. I'm just saying, you know, you're focused

(01:08):
on what's happening on the field. But I know this
as I heard him on that last drive, and I
think they had something to do with that with us
getting that sack cause fumble with the end and.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
It was Brian Parham that had the sack cause fumble.
We've talked about him all year. What does he continue
to do here with the Huskies prove his.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
Worth in college football? Not just here. You know, there's
a young man that did not play college football last year.
You know, he's at wat University of Washington, wonder redshirt.
They basically booted him out of the program, and sometimes
you know, that can spell the end. But he was resilient.
He trusted us, he came here. Now, Washington said good
things about him. You know, Jedfish and I are friends

(01:48):
and they liked him a lot. But he just has
proved his worth, you know, And it shows you that
if you're resilient and you stick with something you really
believe in and you work hard, good things can happen.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
In the second half, it was a duke offense that
you guys had to keep up with, and Skyler Bell
continues to do what he's done all years. So what
more can you say with two more touchdowns about Skyler
Bell here tonight?

Speaker 2 (02:10):
I don't know what to say about Skyler. I mean
that that corner that was covering him is a you know,
potential first round draft pick. He's one of the best
corners in the country. And you know, Skyler did a
pretty good job. Not I mean, and they didn't cover
him with that guy the whole game, but when they did,
you know, sky competed his butt off. And I think
Skyler continues to prove his worth. And I think that
connections me doing him and Joe is very relevant. And

(02:32):
it sure paid off tonight.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
In the second half. Needed to play to spark things,
and there are three phases of football, and special teams
came up with a fake punt, so you know what
went into the confidence of being able to draw that
up and get that first down.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
We've been working on it all year. It's something that
we you know, we work on every single week. So
we knew that that we knew how to execute. It
wasn't something we just put in this week and you know,
say hey, let's see if it works. We knew that
we had a really good chance to make it work.
Our guys had a high degree of confidence that would work,
and they just went out and executed it.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
And lastly, you know the rule book inside it out
far more than most people. At the end of the
third quarter with two minutes left, what were you trying
to get an explanation from from the officials with that
fourth one fourth and one play where a timeout needed
to be called.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
I wanted an explanation as to why they didn't let
us SUP. That's about all I can say without having
to pay money. So I'm going to just stop right there.
I'll let you say what you want, or maybe we
talk off Aaron, then you can convey my feeling.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
Don kidden kidding win number seven. Congrats coach, Thank you,
thank you,

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
