Speaker 1 (00:00):
So, coach Daily, what do you think of the afternoon?
Your team looked from our perspective, pretty darn good.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
We played well. You know, I thought we handled their
pressure well and we only turned the ball again over
against pressure when we made some bad decisions. But you know,
I thought we did a really good job on Jelanna Cambridge.
She's a terrivic player, perfect example. You know, KK did
not score, but did a tremendous job on Jelani and

(00:27):
you know, helped for seven turnovers. So that just says
a lot about our team. You know, I think the
way we just step up and do the next thing,
and KK was willing to do that, didn't have to
score and had an impact on the game.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
And talk about the defense, you know, first quarter, they
seemed it was a track meet, practically everybody up and down,
both teams shooting pretty hot. Changes in the second quarter,
and I know much is made about Sarah's strong scoring,
but she seemed to have a lot of deflections and
being a big impact on defense everywhere too.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
Well. Yeah, in the first quarter, ny came ended up
making three threes. That's not what she does, and that
kind of these scored nine points off you know, a
player that we were okay with shooting three, finished with
I think only one point after that, but it was
to track meet the first quarter. But second quarter, I
think we turned it up a notch defensively, and as

(01:17):
she said, Sarah Sarah Strong just has great feet and
great hands. She has a sense of where the ball's going.
She makes tremendous plays, and I thought, you know, she
flirted with a triple double with the assist with finishing
with seven assists and thirteen rebounds twenty nine points. But
she's just you know, she's she can do anything. You know,

(01:38):
she's a point forward. She handles the ball, she handled
the ball against pressure, made good decisions, So happy for her,
and she just makes us a better team. And then Blanca,
I thought, gave us some good minutes before she lost
her mind with her turnovers. Gave us some good minutes
off the bench, so that helped. And Sarah Williams started
off really strong. And maybe we have to play big

(02:00):
ten teams and make her play like that right from
the get go. But I thought she gave us a
great start in the first quarter.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
Right I thought, you know, it just seemed that she
wanted that ball, and I don't know if it was
by design, but you seem to have textbook plays where
on the block she was getting the ball and getting
the score.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
She did a really good job, I think, getting position
and taking advantage of her matchup against their players. So
I was happy for her. I thought she did a
nice job.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
So all in all, you say, I want to grow on,
But knowing that what's looking ahead, you will be not
to skip ahead. You will be having another Big ten team.
Is it something it's the style of player? Will you
see two different types? No?

Speaker 2 (02:40):
I think I think against Michigan we're going to see
something similar and similar to ourselves. Where they press, you know,
they put pressure on the ball, they get out and transition.
They've got two really dynamic guards who've had a great
freshman year, and both of them start off really well sophomores.
But you know, I think it's all these are contest.

(03:00):
It's really the challenge of who can do what they
do well better. And today we were better than Ohio
State at handling their pressure than they were able to
handle ours. And you know, on offense, we're willing to
make the extra pass. We had thirty assists on thirty
nine buckets. So we're an unselfish team and that'll be
the same. I mean, we're going to enjoy this one

(03:23):
today and we'll look at film from this game and
have off on Tuesday and then get ready for Michigan Wednesday,
Thursday and play Friday.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
All right, well, thank you, thank That is the Daily Report.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
