Speaker 1 (00:00):
Up here Alley's of Bell's with us. Hi, Ali, how
are you doing? Hi good? How are you? We're doing great?

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Thanks, And it's nice to see your confidence really take
a nice bump up. You seem like you're playing with
a lot of confidence so far in these first three games.
Do you feel it like things are coming together for you?

Speaker 1 (00:17):
Yeah? Absolutely.

Speaker 3 (00:18):
I think freshman year you don't really know what to expect,
and then coming in your next year, you're a little
more experienced. And I just have so much confidence in
what I did over the summer and everything like that
to get us.

Speaker 1 (00:26):
Prepared for this. Tell us a little bit of that
summer program.

Speaker 4 (00:30):
It sounded like you had a pretty good workout in
the game plan, getting better with different facets of the game.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Yeah. Absolutely.

Speaker 3 (00:36):
After the season, I just talked with the coaches about
things I can work on, one definitely being confidence and
just working on my body, getting in better shape and
just everything like that. I think that itself just brings
a lot of confidence.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
Have you seen the payoff in the weight room now
that from the weight room to on the floor. What's
the payoff been like in your mind? Other than the confidence.
But we're just you're well rounded game.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
Now.

Speaker 3 (00:57):
Yeah, I think one way you can see it is
just boxing on red on and being able to be
more physical and do other things other than score, which
is what I'm known for. So I feel like impacting
the game in different ways has really helped me a lot.

Speaker 4 (01:08):
How beautiful was that to play before the half.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
With oh, third quarter, our third quarter?

Speaker 4 (01:13):
Sorry, yeah, well they're that way and he hit the
buzzer beater or that just was pretty from the outlet
to you how many.

Speaker 3 (01:20):
Yes, it was really cool just to see gamble all
excited and everything like that. But it was a great
class by Blanca.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
Just had to get something up.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
So yeah, yeah, it's nice there. Defensively, this team continues
to play good defense. I'm sure coach reminded you guys
a few things at halftime that first quarter was a
little bit ugly, little bit sloppy. But what was the
message from coach coming out for the second half, because
you guys certainly entered the bell with a twenty three
to three third.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:45):
Absolutely, I think just the way that we approached games.
If it's no matter who the team is, you still
need to get after it, work on what we did
in practice, be more up in the passing lanes, and
he gave us a huge challenge and just really took
it after that.

Speaker 4 (01:58):
Have you found a key in a sense of coming
off the bench and that you just you're ready to go?
So I don't have that mindset of where you're feeling.
You know what you're looking at and you're observing the
game or it's just a style. You know that you've
got the green light and coach once you're shooting the ball.

Speaker 3 (02:12):
Yeah, Coach mal always says, make him yell at you
to stop shooting. So I usually have a problem with that.
So I'm trying to work on that a little bit more.
When you have the green light, used it until he
rains you in. So I think just coming off the bench,
trying to be more of a spark as everyone says,
but also just contributing and helping other players get them
back in the game.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
All right, Finally, are you one of those that got
the tattoo with the date of the National Championship game?

Speaker 3 (02:36):
I am one of the ones Man Ashcot matching one
farm your elbows arm, Yes on.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
Our own elbow. Yes, nice, very good, yes, very good.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
Allie, thank you for a few minutes, and I'm sure
we'll talk again during the season.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
Appreciate it, yes, absolutely, thank you so much.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
