Speaker 1 (00:01):
First off, silence, tell us about what just happened here?
How your team just mobbed you here?

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Man. You know we're putting in a lot of hard
work starting to starting back in June. Man, we've been
building camaraderie, chemistry, everything and doing things off the court. Man,
that's just a little bit. Just are so in love
to each other.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
Man.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
I appreciate all those guys pushing me every day, my coaches,
my teammates, my every day. You know, those are my guys.

Speaker 1 (00:19):
Man.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
We've been putting in work for the longest, just to
get on this stage and perform and showcase all the
hard work we've done. Is just approved that the testament
to our hard work.

Speaker 1 (00:26):
The twenty point leads slipping away. Did you kind of
feel at that point you were going to take things
over because nobody else was scoring? But you did?

Speaker 2 (00:33):
I just I just did what coach wanted me to do. Man.
Coach wanted me to be the leader on the floor,
and when it's time to make plays, I make those plays,
and Coach got the utmost confidence of me to do it.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
First half, you kind of played so well both ends
of the court. What was working for you kind of
helped build that lead, which eventually became twenty.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
I think we were just making them guard as man
longer possessions, not getting up and down battle with them.
I think we played our game and I think we
made them chase us in the first half. We did
what we had to do in the first half. Obviously,
thing slipping in the second half, but we got back
right and did what we were supposed to do.

Speaker 1 (00:59):
They missed their first ten three pointers. They started coming
live in the second half. Did you come three point defense?
Do you a little work? Definitely?

Speaker 2 (01:06):
I think we got a little lax. But you know,
I think that's just the way of the game. You know,
the team is a bunch of threes in the first half.
At some point those threes are going to start calling.
I think that's just a lot of basketball. Sometimes that's
just how it happened. So I think we just had
to luck back in and we got to put together
a full forty minutes.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
Yeah, full forty That was coach Dan Hurley. And by
the way, tell the radio folks what you're holding on
to here.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
MVP basketball. But it's not about me, man, It's about
the team and us just continue in the win. What
you learn about this team tonight, that we that when
we get in tough moments and adversity, we were able
to push through. And I think our coaches put us
in a great position to be able.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
To do that. Silo this great game. Thanks very much
and so I appreciate you. Silas Emery Junior. You con
twenty one point score in tonight's victory over BYU

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
