(00:00):
If you get a phone call rightand it goes to voicemail, Yes,
how long does your phone take totell you that you have a voicemail?
I like with the new update whereyou can hit the button and you can
see the voicemail as it's being transcribed. The Oh, my aunt left a
really nice one yesterday. It wasso nice I almost about picking it up
mid mid leaving, but I justpreferred to read the compliments. Yes today,

(00:25):
I asked the I don't I've neverseen somebody comes up on your screen
on the on the home screen.I don't have that. I don't have
that. Yeah, like as thecall or as the message is being left,
I can see it being transcribed, can you really? Yeah? And
then you could pick that up midmid message leaving. I thought about it.

(00:46):
I don't know if you actually can. So if I see it,
does it just come up as likeyou got a notification? And no,
you can see the words that they'resaying. Oh no, that's what I
mean. But like you don't haveto open anything. So like if your
phone is just off right, butyou know what I mean? Yeah,
now it pops up and you couldsee it as it's going. It has
to be unlocked like faceight, Okay, they wouldn't let a random person look

(01:06):
at a phone as a message,so I'd have to open public. I'd
have to unlock the phone on thehome screen. Yeah, and then I
could see it as it comes up, and I can answer that as they're
leaving. I don't know if youcan answer it. I got a phone
called what day did you call me? Oh? That was Saturday night,
Okay, Saturday night. I hadno idea. Tyler called. Never heard
the phone ring. I never heardanything, and I'm not on silnce so

(01:30):
at that moment. So it's notlike one of those where if your phone
is silent, but you like there'scertain people like the kids, for example,
if my phone's on silent, theyring through. I can't remember what
that's called. It's not an emergencycontact, but whatever. But like if
the boys call at any point,my phone will ring audibly even if the

(01:51):
phone is on silence, right,no problem. I have no idea.
And it's during a part of theday where if the phone rings, I'll
hear it, right or I'll feelit. No big deal. I had
no idea. The phone rings yesterdayafternoon, I was going to the grocery
store anyway. So well, Imean, that's TMI. So I'm going
to the grocery store. And asI'm as I'm walking into the grocery store,

(02:15):
I get a bring or whatever,and I see I have a voicemail
from Tyler okay, And I waslike, well, that's freaking weird.
I never I never, he nevercalled, Like I was right here in
the car on my way to thegrocery store and the phone never rang.
And so it was a voicemail. But it was a voicemail that went back

(02:38):
to Saturday, and he had sentme a text which I didn't understand at
all. But then I was ableto go, oh, well, now
that makes sense. And it wasbecause his house almost caught on fire.
What yes, the house? Nowthis part I don't know, because the
message was, Hey, I justwanted to let you know the house almost

(02:58):
caught on fire. As you toldus last week, you had purchased the
same gift for your sister, right, that is true, That is true.
I wanted you to let her knowto uh, to not walk away
from the indoor smokeless infra red grill. Was it like a short and a
cord or something or I don't know. I was not walking away. I

(03:20):
was standing right there when I hearda buzzing and I turned to lady.
Was it a buzzing from the unit? Because you've used it before, right,
and you agree it's a great grill. I can't. I mean,
this is why. If you're wonderingwhy the Instagram story about grilling out on
a Saturday night or grilling in ona Saturday night disappeared, it's because I
felt unsafe endorsing the product after whatwent down. So I'm standing there grill

(03:47):
inside the house. Yes, priorto that. You've used it before,
yes, yeah, with no issues? Correct? Right? And it works
great? Yeah, yeah, it'sbeautiful. It's an awesome grill. Yeah,
it was. It was cool.Embresson was the wait, So okay,
so the house so Saturday, you'regrilling, yes, right before they
were going to run the horses atthe Preakness, right, didn't watch it.

(04:09):
So I'm standing right atop the well. You're manning the grill in the
kitchen, the indoor grill and forred grill. And there's a buzzing.
And I said to Lindsay he wasin the kitchen as well. I said,
was that buzzing, mean, wait, is it coming from the grill?
It sounded more like the wall, but it was so loud I couldn't

(04:30):
in the grill's right there. It'snot a long cord. It's not like
it's it's an extension court. Imean, you're you're all kind of yeah,
no, you're trapped one well, they want you to be safe.
But then I was able to identifyas coming from the wall. When the
smoke started coming from the wall,Oh Jesus Christ, how bad was the
smoke? Like? Could you seeit? Yeah? The would you wait,

(04:54):
I was gonna say, would youcall it billowing? Uh? It?
It looked like there was a fire. The my god, it's like,
what's the what's the smoke called thatcomes along with the fire? It
was so I the color was thesmoke. It was like whitish gray.

(05:15):
What is electrical electricals not white?Isn't electricals fire black? Oh? I
don't know. I didn't know todifferentiate between the two in any case,
I don't know either. So didyou unplugged? We plugged? You think
the corps hot? You should havefelt the wall because I'm thinking, oh

(05:38):
my god, there's a fire behindthis on the other side. So I
run downstairs to the fuse box andflipped the circuit breakers. It's not the
most convenient time to find out thereare five labeled kitchen just shut them all
off. I did. I did, and there went everything, the fridge,

(05:58):
the coffee maker, and of coursethe grill. Eventually we did the
kids give you their heads up,lights are off. No, we really
were trying to them, not scarethem, right, they they did because
I jumped They were both in thebasement. I jumped him. The couch
is underneath the circuit box. It'slike hidden kind of in a cabinet,

(06:23):
and so I had to kind ofleap over him to get to it,
and he was like control. Sohe went running down there were you like,
oh my god, the house isfrantic as hell because my next stop
was going to be under the syncto grab the Yeah, of course,
because I expected to come back andsee like flames. The whole time thinking

(06:46):
what a gift, What a gift? So we then we we don't.
The smoke stops, and I waslike, well, I got to see
what's going on behind this outlet,So I unscrew like the plastic plate and
then unscrew the actual outlet from thewall to pull it to see if the

(07:10):
wiring has been burnt or if there'slike something that's going to continue to cause
problems, or to see if there'slike smoke or fire damage inside whatever the
cutout is called for the outlet. So I pulled it out and it is
hot, It is really hot,and there's a little puff of smoke that
comes out as I pulled out theoutlet, but there's no noticeable like charring

(07:33):
of the cutout. And you guysdon't have like a rolled up wick in
the wall or anything like that. What what do you mean by that?
Like a wick where you take thetoilet paper and you roll it real real,
real real tight and thin. What'sthat for it? And then you
find a gap in the wall andyou just put that in there and keep
it lit. And that way youcan always add on to the length of

(07:54):
the wick. But that way youalways have like something that can help start
a fire, like for if youwere going to smoke, like coffee,
cigarettes or or just that way, there's always something that you could use to
light something. I don't know,I don't know, I don't get that
you don't have one of those now, okay, anyway back to you.
So luckily we do have an electricianwho lives in the neighborhood, and I've

(08:18):
never, in our fourteen years livingthere, talked to him. No,
no, no, We've chatted alovely family, but I've never asked for
any sort of favor, especially onetied to his professional right, Well,
this is an emergency, it was, except for they were watching the Preakness.

(08:39):
So his I text like this longthing through lindsay to his wife and
uh the wife who again they're they'rethey're great. But the wife says,
do you think you need him nowor can we watch the horse race?
And I was like, I guesshe doesn't think based on what's happening we've
described it that it's run over here. So he did come over after Seize

(09:07):
the Gray won the Preakness, andhe checked it all out. He replaced
the whole outlet with a new box. And it was funny because I had
left because now dinner was ruined,so I went to go pick up pizza.
I didn't know how long it wasgoing to be before they ran the
horses, so I went to thepizza place and I come back and he's

(09:31):
there and the first thing he saysis Lindsay said, you guys turned off
the circuit breaker. And I waslike, did you check that? I
don't know. I just hit fivethat said, kitchen, please tell me
that you checked the lines. Hedid. He did, but he replaced
the whole thing and put it backin the wall. He even he stepped
back and like tried to level theplate and I was like, look at

(09:54):
the one to the side that wedon't care about that. It's all off
kilter. But he did say,and this is where you can, I
guess, feel comfortable in the giftgiving that you did. He did say,
it probably wasn't the grill, Thankyou, thank you. I'll tell
you this. So it could havebeen anything in that plug. Well,

(10:16):
it could have just been it.It could have just anything in that plug
would have had the same result.Let me, that outlet was on the
fritz and was going to go.You could have plugged in a hair drier
and that thing was going to go. Uh yeah, I mean that would
have been weird for the kitchen,But sure, I guess. So.
I don't know if the grill you'rewelcome is requiring more electricity voltage volks if

(10:41):
there's well, there's high voltage andthere's low voltage. But I don't know
the actual I was so thrown offby what had gone down and that we
were finally having to after almost fifteenyears, like call in a favor.
I didn't love that. That's nobig deal. That's what the guy does.
But if he needed somebody to comeover and make an announcement, you
could have done that. He hadn'thad a day off since April fourth,

(11:05):
and he told us that did youdid you like pay him something or by
the dinner or that's that. No, you don't do that, that's those
are friends helping friends. So No, what I did was I pay you
want a grill? It was funnytoo. We just saw on the buy
Nothing group that afternoon the same grillsomebody was giving away after what they said,

(11:31):
one use but no longer a needfor it. Oh, because it
caught the house off. Heause wedon't have a house anymore. House fire.
I actually popped into the liquor storewhen I went to get pizza to
buy them a bottle of wine,as I thought, eventually they'll run that
race and he'll be over at thehouse and they had a Kendall Jackson for
the one hundred and fiftieth running ofthe Kentucky Derby. So I thought,

(11:54):
what a great gift to remind himand his wife of the last time they
watched a race uninterrupted. Right,So I did give him that because he
went let me pay for his northe thing he had on the trade.
He's a friend, well, butI don't want to about just for the
materials. Yeah, no, friends, friends don't let friends. But he

(12:16):
said, he said, at whatpoint he He's like, no, you
charge something. You and Elliott keepus entertained. Oh, thank you,
thank you and busy during the preI was gonna say, it's his gift,
by the way, that you're herefor, but my sister I didn't
even tell my sister. So thatwas the thing I called him because I
will say this too. Nothing sobersyou up more than your house almost burning

(12:39):
down. And so on my mydrive over to get the pizza on the
wine, I calling this message whichhe did not get. And I got
it yesterday when I was at thegrocery and I send that text message which
I did not understand. It wasthe follow up and it said revoicemail.
This is Saturday. At eight thirtyuh, A neighbor came over. He
switched out out let, tested everything, said, it probably wasn't the grill

(13:01):
for your sister's knowledge, right.I saw that, I saw the text
message. I didn't know what itwas, so I was like, okay,
I had no idea what it was. So then yesterday at five o'clock,
your voicemail just came through. Nowthe above text makes so much more
sense, and I wrote, Oh, I thought you were just ignoring my

(13:22):
near house fire. I had noidea. But that gets back on legal
advice. I thought your attorney said, don't yeah, don't even to any
sort of guilt or apologize or doanything that they could come back to haunt
you. But why does my phonenot get Why doesn't it Why don't I
hear it ring? Why don't Ifeel it ring? And why don't I
get a voicemail alert until the nextday. I have the same problem too,

(13:43):
where I don't get like, evenif the volume is up and I
don't have do not Disturb on,sometimes text will come through and I won't
get a notification about it. That'sfine, But why I've got I've had
the same thing happened with phone callsall the time and voicemail. Why doesn't
the voicemail come frough till the verynext day? That's the part. I
don't know what time did you call. You guys should think about calling the

(14:05):
fire department because when that happened,my wall is a blaze, and you
guys are worried about your phone.Well, no, but I wish I
would have gotten the phone call toknow what was going on. But you
still didn't warn your sister because she'sused the grill a thousand times and there's
never been a problem. I have. I don't have the exact same one.

(14:28):
The one that I have. Theydiscontinued, probably because it causes wallfires.
Earn that. Wait, so areyou never going to use the grill
again? I'm not going to usethe grill? Oh come on, give
it away. Yeah, somebody willuse it, you know. Wait,
you'll never use it again. I'llget you another one that's a great grid.

(14:52):
I hope it's your understanding, Theguy said, probably not grill.
Why we're we'd be hesitant to plugit into our wall again? Can you
run an extension to the neighbors steeltheir electricity and try. That's a nice
gift. That was a very thoughtfulgift. Yeah, it was funny because
it was a workaround for my notwanting to ever own a real grill.

(15:13):
Right, so did you throw itout? We did not throw it out.
Well, what are you gonna Well, don't leave it in the house,
as a reminder, not in thehouse. Is in the garage and
like not near a wall, likein the middle of the garage with a
lot of water in it, nextto a bucket. So that's out.
So you'll never use it again. If I'm being honest, I cannot see

(15:39):
a scenario in which have you triedplugging anything else into that outlet again?
We put in the new one,Yeah, of course after he tested it.
Yeah, did you try the grill? Why didn't you try to fancy
a light to show you that it'sall working properly? Oh have you ever
seen those before? No? Ithink you're pretty popular. No, I
don't have one of those, butI had never seen him before. Why
did you try it when he wasthere and go, hey, let's try

(16:02):
the grill? Ask him to comeover. Oh, you guys, that's
how a think though. During theBelmont ask him if he could come over
and just watch. Let's drill in, let's drill in, and in cases
of fire, you're here already, all right. Well, sorry that my
gift caught your house on fire, and sorry I didn't get your message.
But that's on Apple. That's noton that's not on Thank you, Ernie,
and thank you absolutely
