Speaker 1 (00:00):
Please welcome from below deck. Several seasons ago, Culver Elliott, Hey,
real quick, what are you doing.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
Oh, I'm sitting here in beautiful Fort Waterdale, Florida. I
just put a post up of my season and someone
said Elliott was talking about you, and I was commenting
on the post and then across my phone and just said,
Elliott in the morning. So that was too funny that
you were calling.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
And I feel bad because I promised you I wanted
to just check in with you from time to time
and see it what part of the beautiful world you
were in and what you were doing.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
And I feel like I put well, I called you.

Speaker 3 (00:43):
That one really unfortunate time. But I feel like I
feel like I haven't done a good job keeping up
to live vicariously through you.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
Oh that's all good, Elliott. It was. We just finished
up our season, and I'd say I'd say we hung
around the neighborhood. We ran up the East coast and
did a big New England season. So we went from
Fort Lauderdale and stopped in a bunch of towns all
the way up to Portland, Maine.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
What is the if you had to guess the most
expensive yacht you worked on during the season.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
During the season, like right now we're on We're on
like one hundred foot boats, so it's a pretty common
common boat. But I mean the bigger you go, the
bigger the bills. Like I talked about, right, we just
finished up at the boat show Elliott, So we sold
this boat and we we just purchased a new boat

(01:40):
and there'll be some exciting changes coming for the future.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
Right on, Hey, did you did you work Did you
work for anybody very famous over the season? Uh?

Speaker 2 (01:50):
No, we have a private owner. And when I have
a catch up with you in person, I'll have to
share share some more info about them, because you'll pully
know who he is. But you're a local, you know
he's he's in the DC area. He'd be a great
person to connect with and but no, no, he's a

(02:11):
he's a lovely guy and he takes care of the
crew really well. But I'll have to share more inso
on and what I see in person.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
Can I ask you this, because you know I can't wait?
Is he you said I would know I would know
his name?

Speaker 2 (02:25):
I think you would you would know about him.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
He's got yeah, but I have ever met him.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
Do you think I would have ever met him.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
Uh maybe me.

Speaker 4 (02:37):
I'm not even sure though, I think I think you
might have Elliott. Yeah, he is one of the d
C Sports teams.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
So oh my god, Well it's Ted or Josh Josh Harris.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
I can't say, Elie, you know the rules?

Speaker 1 (02:54):
No, I don't. Actually, I know.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
They'd be excited to have you on board Elliott. Amen.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
Oh I love to be on board. I'm on board, Culver,
I'm on board. Wait, so.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
Elliott is on the guest list the thank you?

Speaker 1 (03:10):
Hey am I.

Speaker 3 (03:10):
So when you say like we're done for the season,
does that mean like between now are you off now?

Speaker 1 (03:16):
Like are you done sailing?

Speaker 3 (03:18):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (03:19):
Yeah, So it just it's kind of you have this
little break where you come back to like Port Largo
such a hub, so you come back here and get
a lot of work down to the boat, and then
the winter season starts. And usually winter season, a lot
of boats will go to the Caribbean or you'll go
to the Bahamas and you just put together a new

(03:40):
itinerary for a winter season. And that's kind of where
we're just like in a transition right now.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
When does winter season start?

Speaker 2 (03:48):
Ah, that's like due to a lot of these owners.
They love to go on like the Christmas New Year's trip,
so you know a lot of boats are getting you know,
some last minute work done and then they're heading the
Saint Bart's Saint Tom of course.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
Yeah excellent. But you're doing well. You're doing well, Culver.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
Yeah, yeah, doing well. And man, just had so much
fun this season and yeah yeah, and you know, and
I'm gonna be up that way, Elliott. I'm gonna get
home and see the family for the holidays. So I'm
excited about that because I didn't. I just saw him
in little pit stops along the summer. We stopped in
Annapolis and they came on board and I got to
catch up with them a little bit there. But yeah,

(04:32):
that's person time home, person time home in southern Maryland.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
All right, Well, hit us up when you get back,
all right, buddy.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
Yes I will.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
I'll let you know, all right, Culver, thank you, my friend.
Good talking to you, you too, You got to talk
to you later. Thanks brother, talk to you later.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
