Coming to America for their first tour is a big step for Royel Otis, and even bigger since all of their shows are sold out! I talked to the boys in the DC101 Soundstage about what they like so far about America, festivals that they're looking forward to playing, keeping it just between the two of them when it comes to making music and how quick the cover of "Murder On The Dancefloor" actually came together!

have found anything that you really likeabout America that you're like, oh wow,
this is really cool sleeping. Yeah, well, you got a long

(01:33):
distance between every show, I'm sure. So everyone's so lovely, like the

Utah and Salt Lake City. Iforgot what it's cool, but it seems
like a good Festal okay, Yeah, we're playing Shaky Knees in a few

(02:35):
days. Shaky Eese is a greatone down in Atlanta. If you guys
have never gone, go to Atlantafor Shakyeese. One year they got Who's
this year? The Food Fighters andQueens of the Stone Age. Not a
bad lineup, not bad, androyal otis the main event here, of
course, you know, very early. Yeah, that's for all the early

pretty easy the two of you tostart making music together? Like, did
you find hey, this works realwell right off the bat or did it
take a bit till the real connectionhappened? It was easy, Yeah,

(03:22):

the difficult then it got real difficult. That's what I was gonna ask.
Do you have other people or doyou guys just keep it between you for
the music writing just mostly Yeah, once you get to the b someone's in
the room and they're throw an ideaand we lock it, then we'll be
like yeah, okay putting in.But mostly just mostly we've done okay so

guys know when you did that coverof like, oh we got something pretty
special here, Like did you feelthat when you recorded it for the first

wreck us, destroy us. Wewere talking to our lawyer man get ready
to take put the season desistent us. Did they I don't know how that
works. Did they give you alist of songs that you pick from before
you come in to do the thing? Not? Really, it's kind of

(04:27):
up to you, which makes itkind of harder because there's so many,
so many somethings to pick from.Sure, it was pretty last minute with
that metal on the down, sowe learned it learned the day the day
before. Really yeah wow, withan hour to do it. Yeah,
stupid. So that's why we wereexpecting it wasn't gonna do that. Well,
well it's not. Okay though,it's done. All right, You've
you've made some fans because of that, and yeah, I'm sure you're gonna

(04:50):
