Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hey, John Brandon, how did you grow? Good morning? So
I keep hearing them playing clips of this clown akeem Jeffries.
What is this guy's deal? Even the major media things
are saying Democrats caved to end the shutdown, and he's
still trying to say, Oh, the Republicans this and that,
and they had a vacation. What a bozo. I am
(00:23):
so sick of listening to these liars NonStop. Try have
a good day.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
You're not wrong, Brandon, that assessment is pretty much spot on.
As a matter of fact, I didn't even.
Speaker 3 (00:42):
Grab the clip. I had it a fucking Jeffries.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
But it's just so utterly ridiculous that they continue to
try to perpetuate the lie of the shutdown. Twin Cities
News Talk at AM eleven thirty one oh three five FM.
My name is John Justice, brought casting from the six'
five to one Carpet Next Day Install studios and the
master control booth Is devin And i'm glad you are
(01:07):
with the show this.
Speaker 3 (01:08):
MORNING i did Something i've never done.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
Before WHEN i left, TODAY i opened up with the
garage and put my stuff in my. Car spent three
hours at the dealership yesterday getting that paddle shifter. Fixed
by the, way became very accustomed with the waiting room
at the. Dealership thankfully it's all. Fixed but put my
stuff in my car and THEN i walked into the
(01:31):
edge of the lawn to take.
Speaker 3 (01:33):
In The Aurora.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
Borealis so my, Son, logan the, pilot he's obsessed with
The northern, lights knows all about, him follows all of
the very specific data related to solar flares and the
(01:55):
effect that it has on the, planets and so he
And melinda actually went up To malax last night to
go and take them.
Speaker 3 (02:02):
In and if.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
You're, online you cannot escape all of the numerous photographs
of The aurora. Borealis but, yeah this, morning WHEN i walked,
OUT i JUST i took a look from the LAWNDON
i could see. Them it's you, KNOW i will say
this THAT i. DON'T i got to phrase this. Correctly
so it's.
Speaker 3 (02:20):
Not like you see him in the. MOVIES i mean
maybe if.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
You go all the way up To, alaska it might
be more like.
Speaker 3 (02:25):
THAT i feel a little.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
Duped when you see all the, photographs but you could
only see really the. Colors if you're looking at it
through a. Camera it's hard to really. See, Yesee devin
shaking his head in, there you know, exactly you know exactly.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
What i'm but a really Faint i'm talking human eye exactly.
Now they were much brighter this. MORNING i was.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
Surprised i've seen them a few other, TIMES i haven't
gone as far north as the rest of the family
has to go and take these. IN i will say
THAT i was very much, surprised AND i can see
a hint of red with my naked, eye but, typically you,
know you got to look through a, camera AND i
don't even know how that. Works LIKE i actually pulled
my camera out to get a, shot not LIKE i needed.
Speaker 3 (03:10):
To everybody else.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
HAS i guess you could see LIKE i was seeing
a video yesterday of somebody all the way down in Like.
MISSOURI i think you can see them as far As,
texas and so they were still really bright this. Morning
BUT i pulled my phone out to take a, picture
And i'm, Like, god just that just looks. BLACK i
don't know how to any of this, works AND i
don't want to run late to, work So i'm sure
that my son got plenty of photographs last. NIGHT i
(03:32):
do appreciate the fact that that at least we as a,
species as human, beings with all the controversies that we
deal with on a daily basis and what we're going
to talk about, today can still stop and be, interested,
entertained amazed at. Nature we haven't lost everything to the
(03:53):
point where we no longer care about the northern.
Speaker 3 (03:56):
Lights that's still kind of a big. Deal, so you,
KNOW i just try.
Speaker 2 (03:59):
To go and look at the positive things as we
dive into a whole lot of negative, today including a
lot Of republicans freaking out Over President Donald trump in
comments that he made last night On Laura ingram REGARDING
h one B v says we'll get into this a
little bit later on in the in the. HOUR a
lot of pannikins right now THAT i simply do not
(04:21):
understand regarding that particular. Issue on the show, today working
in reverse, Order liz callin From Alpha. News she'll be
joining us at eight. THIRTY a city council member was carjacked.
Yesterday he's. Okay the stories surrounding the carjacking are absolutely,
(04:41):
wild AND i posted this online yesterday WHEN i was
previewing the. Story but you, know in a world where
carjackings should be. Rare the odds of a city council,
member a city council member In minneapolis being car jack
should be incredibly. Low so when it, happens it tells
(05:07):
you kind of everything you need to know regarding just
how many carjackings are taking, place because, like the odds
of that happening should really be, tiny but they're. Not
and he's not the first city council member that's dealt
with crime relating to the city Of, minneapolis and so
we'll discuss that a little bit later on in the.
(05:27):
Show plus we'll dive into this And jeff, O'Brien our lawyer, extraordinari.
Speaker 3 (05:31):
Will be joining us in studio at seven.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
THIRTY a provision in the, bill this would be the
shutdown bill of which The house is going to vote
on tonight to reopen the. GOVERNMENT a provision in the
bill would essentially that would end the government, shutdown would
effectively BAN thc products derived from, hemp and that has
(05:55):
craft breweries In minnesota. Scrambling that has craft breweries and
those that sell these products. Concerned but there's a lot
to break down regarding what this would actually go and,
do and much of which wouldn't take.
Speaker 3 (06:10):
Place until next.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
Year craft breweries specifically are at risk If congress effectively
makes the hemp BASED thhd beverages a federally illegal, product
and this would also include other hemp derived. Products back
in twenty, eighteen When congress passed The Farm, bill it
legalized hemp derived, products allowing for the creation of certain
(06:35):
seltzers that would, have Say delta eight Or delta, nine
a lesser potent version OF. Thhd but a letter signed
by thirty eight attorneys, general Including Keith, ellson As congress
to close what they call the loophole that allowed For
FRANKENSTEIN thc products they get adults high and harm and
even killed. Children while those concerns stem from illicit gummies
(06:59):
that appeal to, kids industry experts say the law change
would also affect THE thhd beverage. Industry seltzers that come
in cans with five milligrams or ten milligrams OF, thhc
the new federal law would limit that down to zero
point four. Milligrams these are already not able to be
purchased by somebody who's not over the age of twenty,
one so On monday this, Week Ran paul tried to
(07:24):
stop the. Provision Minnesota Democrat Senators Amy Klobash Arentina smith
voted with, him but the other side prevailed seventy six
to twenty.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
Four if The house passes at the.
Speaker 2 (07:33):
Current, language the new law wouldn't go into effect until next.
Year so there's a lot of moving parts on, this
and again we'll talk with our lawyer Extraordinaire jeff O'Brien
when he joins us in studio at seven thirty this.
Morning coming, UP i want to get Into trump's comments
(07:54):
from last night regarding THE h ONE b VSAs i
have the audio of, that but we're also going to
put into the mix a couple of other proposals That
i've seen a lot of CONSERVATIVES maga supporters frustrated, over
whether it's the two thousand dollars tariff given end, checks
or it's the fifty year. Mortgage i'm going to give
you more of a thirty thousand foot view on all
(08:16):
of these, issues along with THE h ONE b, visus
because in my, view there's a lot of needless panicking going.
On as, ALWAYS i want to hear from you throughout
the show this. Morning if you want to Email justice
at iHeartRadio dot. Com we do have a new call
in line eight four four ninety four six fifty eight
fifty five eight four four nine four six.
Speaker 3 (08:38):
Five eight five.
Speaker 2 (08:38):

justice at iHeartRadio dot. Com i'll share it with, you

Realty next here On Twin City's News Talk am eleven
thirty and one oh three FIVE.
Speaker 3 (08:52):
Fm good, morning AND i love your, Show Saint.
Speaker 4 (08:55):
Paul having grown up twelve mile felts of The canadian,
BORDERS i remember seeing beautiful northern, lights but the colors
were not the mean. Aspect you could sometimes see subtle,
(09:16):
colors but it was the beauty of the, white just
the glow and the fact that it was with the naked.
Speaker 3 (09:25):
EYE i missed that a.
Speaker 5 (09:26):
Lot.
Speaker 6 (09:28):
Adorning John zach From dayton. Here i'm sure your Son
logan's told you all about why The auroras is so
bright right. Now it's because of The. Earth the earth
magnetic pole is, drifting which causes normal CMEs from The
sun to cause exponentially more havoc at our. Atmosphere so
it's a whole different rabbit hole that you can go.
Down i'm sure he's told you all about.
Speaker 2 (09:49):
IT i was under the impression based off of what
he told me and the article THAT i have in
front of me here On Twin City's News Talk am
eleven thirty one oh three FIVE fm from the six
five One carpet Plus Next Day Install, studios was that
The aurora borealis last night and also, tonight which is
supposed to be, stronger is because of the biggest solar
(10:11):
flare so far in this. Year the flare is AN
x five point one solar, flare which is the strongest
since AN x nine point zero solar flare In october
of twenty twenty, four which made the northern lights widely
visible Over. MASSACHUSETTS i, mean perhaps you're right relating to
(10:31):
the magnetic, poll BUT i was, told and Again i'm
looking at the story here by from Both logan and
the news that it was the solar. FLARE i was
seeing the videos. Yesterday you, know AS i say, Videos
i'm not talking about a, camera But i'm talking about
the thermal images of The sun and the massive solar
flare that took place causing The, aurora which is again
(10:53):
supposed to be stronger tonight than even it was last
night and this.
Speaker 7 (10:57):
Morning Hey, john it's wonderful that you've got to see
the photon. Lights they were pretty impressive last, night even
FOR us city. FOLK a lot of times in the,
city what you're fighting against is light. Pollution but you
can't see as many stars. Either, oh the lights of
the street, lives, neighborhoods, houses.
Speaker 3 (11:16):
Cars were flecked.
Speaker 7 (11:17):
Off the moisture particles in the air effectively jam you
light thumb the stars and or or science, Case i'm.
Speaker 3 (11:27):
BREAKING i hate that term light.
Speaker 2 (11:29):
POLLUTION i JUST i get, it and it might be,
appropriate it just has such a negative connotation to. It
AND i remember several years, ago not, here but WHEN
i was working In, arizona there were whole organizations that
were pushing back against light pollution and proposing all of
(11:51):
these different ordinances that would reduce street lamps and make them,
dimmer all to deal with light, pollution which were just
would have aided in crime by giving criminals the opportunity
to do what they do in the. Dark, again it
might be, appropriate AND i don't want to push back
on haunts too, much but that term light pollution just
(12:12):
kind of drives me nuts a.
Speaker 3 (12:13):
Bit All, RIGHT i.
Speaker 2 (12:15):
Want to talk about trump comments that he made On
Laura ingram regarding THE h ONE b visas that has
a lot of maga flipping. Out but let's start here,
first BECAUSE i want to put all of these different
issues into the same basket and discuss them because there's
a larger there's something a lot larger going, on much
(12:38):
bigger here with What trump is trying to, do AND
i think people are sort of missing the. Point first,
off From, Alvenus President Donald trump did announce plans to
pay two thousand dollars and these would be dividend checks
coming in FROM us tariff revenues to All americans except
for high income. People so here's a bit of What
(12:59):
trump had to say earlier this week regarding this.
Speaker 3 (13:01):
Issue going to issue.
Speaker 8 (13:03):
A dividends to our middle income people and lower income
people of about two thousand, dollars and we're going to
use the remaining tariffs to lower our. Debt we're going
to be lowering our, debt which is a national security.
Thing so we were doing a lot of good. Work
the numbers were reported so. Incorrectly the real numbers are
trillions of dollars have been taken in or have gotten
(13:25):
in terms of investment from the, tariffs and so if
that were ever, reversed it would be a. Disaster, frankly
it would be a national security problem for our. Country
and nobody thinks it's going to be.
Speaker 3 (13:37):
REVERSED i think we had a very good.
Speaker 8 (13:38):
Court, case as you, know it's before The Supreme court right.
Now but if that were ever, reversed you, know people are.
Speaker 3 (13:44):
Saying, oh it's a billion.
Speaker 8 (13:46):
Dollars some people, said, oh it's too. Billion well that
obviously we can handle very. Easily but this is trillions
of dollars we're talking about in terms of the tariff
income and all the investment income that's come into our.
Speaker 3 (13:57):
Country you, know, NOW i certainly it is not.
Speaker 2 (13:59):
LOST i certainly understand the concerns that people have when
it comes to checks being handed out from the federal
government in this fashion and the potential of just putting
more money into the economy in this, way which could
lead to a rise in. Inflation And i've seen arguments
(14:20):
going both ways on, this but also just an unnecessary
amount of freaking out Over trump's suggestion of doing this
before we've even gone and had a, debate something very
similar is happening happening Regarding trump's idea to have a
fifty year mortgage amid a slumping housing. Market President Donald
(14:43):
trump last weekend flooded the idea of introducing a fifty year.
Mortgage he appears to have some support from The Federal Housing.
Agency they say that a fifty year mortgage would make
affording a home more attainable for Some, americans as it
would lower the monthly. Payment the longer mortgage means homeowners
have a longer time to spread out to their repayment
(15:06):
of the. Loan the process includes a fixed monthly payment
in conjunction with an interest. Payment so for a sample
four hundred thousand dollars loan with a six percent interest,
rate a simple comparison using the amortization calculator shows that
you get a monthly mortgage payment of under twenty four
(15:27):
hundred dollars under a thirty year, loan and you know
twenty one hundred under a fifty year. Loan those numbers
don't include taxes or. Insurance interest paid under a thirty
year loan would be about four hundred and sixty three
thousand and calculates to nearly double that of eight hundred
and sixty three thousand under a fifty year. Loan and
Again i've seen a lot of criticism of this plan as.
(15:50):
Well we'll talk more about, this and then we're going
to get into THE h ONE b visa because there's
again a bigger there's something that at play with all
of this and a better way to look at these particular.
Issues AND i think a lot of people are doing
at the moment and getting unnecessarily spun up over these
(16:11):
suggestions From Donald. Trump so we'll get into more of
this and also more of your comments from The iHeartRadio
app brought to you By Lyndall realty here On Twin
City's News Talk am eleven thirty and one oh three FIVE.
Fm speaking of, TALKBACKS.
Speaker 9 (16:24):
A fifty year mortgage another financial, scam brought.
Speaker 3 (16:28):
On a fight financial.
Speaker 9 (16:30):
Institutions how many people are going to get a fifty year,
mortgage live in their house for more than four or,
five maybe even ten, years then turn around Sell oh
there's more refinancing.
Speaker 7 (16:41):
Charge.
Speaker 3 (16:41):
Ah by the, way rates wet.
Speaker 9 (16:43):
Up fifty year, mortgage that's just a scam so they can.
Speaker 3 (16:47):
Charge more for the.
Speaker 10 (16:48):
House that's my.
Speaker 9 (16:50):
Thoughts for the, NAME i haven't Been.
Speaker 3 (17:00):
Aurora palis bad name or horse name a rock band or.
Racehorse On Aurora, Borealis i'm both. Good, hey now What
i'll Go.
Speaker 2 (17:16):
Aurora borealis straight From, Minnesota Aurora borealis live on. Stage
thank you for the talk. Back we have a lot
more to get to here On Twin Cities News Talk
am eleven thirty one oh three FIVE.
Speaker 7 (17:33):
Fm according to A Keem, jeffries the solar flares that
are happening now are The republican's fault and they're the
ones that are causing a.
Speaker 3 (17:42):
Path all, right so let's continue down this.
Speaker 2 (17:46):
Path i've got to get things in the right order
here as we continue the broadcast from the six to
five to One Guy carpet Plus Next Day Install. Studios
so on the issue of the dividend checks of two
thousand dollars per, person all of these various, issues so
THE h ONE b visas will get into in just a.
MOMENT i got a lot of comments regarding the fifty year.
(18:09):
Mortgages also THE h ONE b. Visas, again LIKE i,
said we'll talk about there's a larger issue THAT i
think a larger point that everybody's missing over all of.
This BUT i want to make sure we get to
these talkbacks AND i frame this. Appropriately let me start
here going back to the dividend, checks just, briefly based
off of the money that's been brought in with the.
(18:32):
Tariffs this Is Treasury Secretary Scott beissent infuriating AN msnbc
panel after he explained how the tariffs have actually gone
and Helped. Americans and this is important to know based
off of the larger commentary That i'll share here in
just a, MOMENT.
Speaker 11 (18:50):
I think that the tariffs help consumers because we are
able to if you go back and, look we have
they have brought down the budget. Deficit and if You
mit came out with a study that said that forty
two percent of The great inflation was caused by the
(19:10):
big deficit. Spending so as you bring down deficit, spending
inflation will come. Down and the tariffs right now we
take in substantial tariff. Income over time that will rebalance
as the factories moved to THE, us and that will
become the corporate income or wage. Income and by bringing
(19:31):
down the budget, deficit we are bringing down.
Speaker 2 (19:33):
Inflation Now i've seen a lot of people that have
been critical of potentially trumpet issuing these two thousand dollars dividend.
Speaker 3 (19:43):
Checks what it would do relating to the.
Speaker 2 (19:45):
Economy let's get to a talk back regarding that in
just a or let's did that go ahead and do
that right?
Speaker 12 (19:50):
Now if the dividend checks are being paid for with
money that already, exists so to, speak then it would
not cause inflation quirking money to do them would so,
yeah longer to not turning on the money.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
Right and the dividends text based off the tariffs is
a little bit different since this is money that we've
brought in via the, tariffs so you're kind of splitting the.
Speaker 3 (20:17):
Two BUT i tend to agree with what you're.
Speaker 2 (20:20):
Saying needless to, say that still is causing concern among
a lot of a lot of, people as is the
fifty year, mortgages of Which i'll get to your comments
here in just a. Moment but let me add the
other element to this BEFORE i get to those. Talkbacks first,
off following months of, controversy we go back in time
just a. Bit President Donald trump In september had issued
(20:42):
a proclamation decrying the systemic abuse of THE h ONE
b visa, program which he said was fueling large scale
replacement Of american workers and is undermine both our economic
and national. Security to address, This trump instituted a one
hundred thousand dollars for companies seeking to OBTAIN h ONE b,
visas a move that was widely criticized by business, leaders
(21:06):
especially in the tech. Industry, now debate over the program
has split both The american public and THE, gop one
side saying the visel holders are Proaching american jobs and
the other saying it's vital TO us. Competitiveness and by
far the industry most heavily utilizing THE h ONE b
visas has been the tech, industry which accounts for nearly
(21:29):
sixty percent to seventy percent of all new recent all
new applications in recent. Years critics say the current program
has veered away from its original intent to attract a
top talent to work in THE us and instead is
being used by employers to import cheap foreign labor to
press wages and cut Out american. Workers, okay so with,
(21:53):
that last, Night trump goes On Laura ingram and has
this back and.
Speaker 3 (21:57):
Forth it was almost a bit of an argument.
Speaker 2 (22:00):
This is being, framed Is Donald trump's surprising You. Turn
i'm looking at an article here From Fox, News trump's
surprising you turn ON h ONE b. Visas during an
interview With Fox News Laura ingram On, Tuesday trump defended
(22:21):
THE h ONE b visa, scheme saying that the country
needs it to bring in, talent talent for certain. Fields
and here's What trump had to say On Laura, Ingram
republicans have to.
Speaker 13 (22:30):
Talk about it a Last and does that mean THE
h ONE b visa thing will not be a big
priority for your administration because if you want to raise
wages For american, workers you can't flood the country with
tens of, thousands hundreds Of.
Speaker 8 (22:42):
We also do have to bring in talent when.
Speaker 3 (22:45):
We any of talent and know you don't we don't have.
Speaker 8 (22:48):
Talented, no you don't have you don't have certain, talents
and you have to people have to. Learn you can't
take people off an unippliment like an unemployment line and
Say i'm going to put you into a factory who
we're going to make missiles or.
Speaker 3 (23:00):
How do we ever do it? Before, Well i'll give
you an.
Speaker 8 (23:03):
Example In, georgia they raided because they wanted illegal. Immigrants
they had people From South korea that made batteries all their.
Lives you, know making batteries are very. Complicated it's not
an easy thing and very, dangerous a lot of, explosions
a lot of. Problems they had like five or six
hundred people early stages to make batteries and to teach
(23:26):
people how to do it.
Speaker 3 (23:27):
Well they wanted them to get out of the. Country
you're going to need, That.
Speaker 8 (23:30):
LAURA i, MEAN i know you AND i disagree on.
This you can't just say a country's coming, in going
to invest ten billion dollars to build a plant and
going to take people off an unemployment line who haven't
worked in five, years and they're going to start making their.
Missiles it doesn't work that.
Speaker 2 (23:45):
Way it was a really interesting exchange On Fox news
and kind of a bit of a role reversal in this.
Case you Had Laura, ingram in my, view overly generalizing
relating to What trump was trying to, say While trump
was actually offering up a level of. Specificity, now BEFORE
(24:10):
i get to my thirty thousand foot view on, THIS
i do want to get to your comments from the iHeartRadio.
App those talkbacks brought to you By Lyndall. Realty let
me make this point regarding THE h ONE b is issue,
Specifically this is another great circumstance and example of where
two things can be true at. Once you can be
(24:31):
critical OF h ONE b, visas tightening fees related to,
them and also acknowledge the value of skilled immigrants coming
into the country. Legally trump has already increased the fees
(24:52):
necessary to go and take advantage of THE h ONE
b visa program to whittle down to just individuals that
are the most. Skilled for businesses to go and take
advantage of THE h onebvisa program along with. Requirements What
trump said there doesn't push back on what he's already,
(25:15):
done which is WHY i was a little bit surprised
At Laura ingram pushing back as hard as she did
and over, generalizing because that seemed fairly obvious to. Me
but the argument in and of itself does another, thing
and this is relating to the dividend checks and the
fifty year. Mortgage, now BEFORE i get to, THAT i
(25:38):
do want to go to some of your. THOUGHTS a
lot of Comments i've rolled in regarding the potential of
a fifty year, mortgage and let's hear from you.
Speaker 3 (25:46):
Morning John dostin.
Speaker 2 (25:47):
CONSIMERAMENT i feel like if you have to get a
fifty year loan to save two hundred hole dollars a.
Speaker 3 (25:54):
Month maybe you shouldn't be buying the house at. All
to begin, With, yeah, no that is a really good.
Speaker 2 (25:58):
Point you, know nobody is going to be forcing anybody
to buy a fifty year.
Speaker 3 (26:03):
Mortgage some of the commentary seems to be speaking to. That.
NOW i, know based off.
Speaker 2 (26:09):
Of your comments that there are a lot of broader
issues relating to the fifty year, mortgage especially for those
individuals that are actually in the housing market and.
Speaker 14 (26:19):
REALTY a fifty year mortgage is one of the stupidest
Ideas i've ever. Heard oh, yeah you can buy a
property and you can lower your monthly, payments but you're
going to have those monthly payments. Forever AND i think
if you do the, math you're going to find out
that it's a money losing.
Speaker 2 (26:37):
Proposition, sure but, again that's the choice that somebody can
go and. Make you're not, wrong but that's the choice
that somebody has made if they're young enough to, whar,
hey this will save me some money on my monthly.
PAYMENT i Know i'm going to go and have this
loan for much longer and pay a lot. More BUT i,
(26:58):
mean you can make the same argument related to interest
rates on credit. CARDS i don't disagree with, you but
again we are talking specifically in this case personal.
Speaker 15 (27:07):
Choice happy hump, Data. John Home, ownership like so many other,
things is a. Privilege it requires a lot of. Work
this is not going to fall out of the. Sky
and if you don't know how to manage your money
and know what to, do it ain't gonna.
Speaker 16 (27:29):
Happen good, Morning, john For, ONAMIA i don't understand why
anyone would be up in arms about a fifty year.
Mortgage WHEN i bought my first house in nineteen eighty,
FIVE i was a young twenty something year old and
interest RATES i assumed a twelve and a half percent.
(27:50):
Mortgage there are people paying up to eighteen percent on.
Mortgages we never bought it that expecting stay in there.
Forever we refinanced when they came back.
Speaker 17 (28:00):
Down.
Speaker 2 (28:01):
YEAH i have an email that came in just as
at iHeartRadio dot com From Scott, andredwing who, says just
because you take out a fifty year, loan doesn't mean
you have to take fifty years to pay off the.
LOAN i always take out a longer term loan to
get my monthly payments down in case something unexpected should.
HAPPEN i worked to pay off the loan. Early and
thank you for the kind words about the.
Speaker 3 (28:22):
Show good, Morning John.
Speaker 1 (28:24):
Say one aspect of the fifty year mortgage versus a
thirty year mortgage that no one's talking about is that
you build equity as significantly slower.
Speaker 2 (28:33):
Rate, sure AND i would hope that individuals would certainly
be aware of that if they were to go and
take out a fifty year.
Speaker 18 (28:39):
Loan good, Morning John, andyman the safety realtor. Here regarding
the fifty year, Mortgage i've got a few concerns are
artificially increased prices of homes because the demand will be,
higher and we already have artificially increased prices because of
THE covid interest. Rates it's going to virtually turn mortgage
(28:59):
companies into, landlords because nobody stays in a home long
enough to get to the point where you can even
get that first big chunk of interest paid. Down and
we'll just encourage.
Speaker 5 (29:09):
You good, Morning John. Devin as somebody that has been
in the money lending business his entire. CAREER i will
tell you that a fifty year mortgage is absolute. Absurdity
what it will do is it will put people into
homes that shouldn't be in that homes because they have
a payment that they can maybe afford for a. While
eventually they will not be able to make that payment
(29:31):
and the banks will take them. Back and meanwhile the
banks will just take all that interest money to their bottom.
Line not a great.
Speaker 17 (29:37):
Idea, hey good, Morning John dennis And Southwest. Minnesota you
had an earlier to talk back about this fifty year
mortgage is a. Scam, Well nolan says you have to do.
It you can do fifteen, year twenty, years thirty, year fifty.
YEAR i, Mean nolan's pushing the arm do. It it's
(29:58):
just an option to make housing more.
Speaker 16 (30:00):
Affordable and if you can't afford.
Speaker 17 (30:03):
It maybe you shouldn't do. It, hey you guys have
a great.
Speaker 3 (30:06):
Day, yeah you have a great day. Too thank you
for the.
Speaker 2 (30:08):
Talkback let me get one more in and Then i'll
go ahead and give you my commentary on all these.
Issues because there's the point that's been completely missed by.
Speaker 3 (30:19):
Everybody so.
Speaker 10 (30:20):
Far i'm definitely A trump, supporter but this has got
to be the stupidest THING i have ever heard come
out of his. Mouth, seriously a fifty year, mortgage you're
pretty much already in the first ten years of a
thirty year mortgage of paying nothing but, Interest so you're
paying now double an interest to a corporation and a
bank who really is making on.
Speaker 1 (30:41):
That how about?
Speaker 10 (30:42):
This how about get fifty million illegals out of this
country to drop the housing market or get corporations from
buying houses out of.
Speaker 3 (30:48):
Market that sounds like a better. Idea two things.
Speaker 2 (30:52):
Here first, off a lot of people that are frustrated
over all these.
Speaker 3 (30:58):
Items they have their concerns in those concerns are.
Speaker 2 (31:00):
Valid but the last thing in that talkback was that
sounds like a better, idea and that's WHAT i want
to zero in. On first, off for the most, part
these are all just commentary and ideas relating to THE
h ONE b visa. Issue trump has already made moves on,
that again raising the criteria and the thieves relating to the,
(31:23):
issue which makes the argument That laura was having with
him just Over trump's view on the issue rather. Perplexing
the concerns over the dividend. Checks they haven't happened. Yet
fifty year mortgage hasn't happened. Yet trump's just floating. It
let me add one more, thing and THEN i promised
(31:44):
THAT i will give you.
Speaker 3 (31:45):
My commentary on.
Speaker 2 (31:46):
This this Was Caroline, levitt The White House Press, secretary
a few days, ago talking about the power of social,
media wherein people go and consume their, news primarily from
places LIKE.
Speaker 19 (32:00):
X doll who is the head of news AT. X
as you all, know you're all ON. X it's home
to hundreds of millions of, users a large contingent of
independent journalists and news organizations across geographies and political. Spectrums
and at the same, TIME x remains the go to
platform for many legacy news. Outlets AND i, know AS i,
(32:20):
mentioned many of the reporters in this room USE x
to attract eyeballs to your.
Speaker 2 (32:24):
Work it's good that we have. Debate it's good for
you to be. Concerned it's good that we look at
these and the context unintended consequences of what could. Transpire
none of this so far is set in, stone apart
from THE h ONE b visa, issue But i've seen
dozens of posts FROM maga supporters panicking pannikins over all
(32:49):
of these different, issues but consider, this the two thousand
dollars tariff divenend checks to middle low income that's certainly
counter to the liberal narrative Around, OH i don't, know most,
recently the cruelty of The trump administration relating to snap.
Benefits you're not being really cruel if you're willing to
(33:12):
go and give two thousand dollars to middle and low
income individuals because of what was achieved via the. Tariffs
the fifty year mortgage debate and, suggestion, well that certainly
pushes back on affordable.
Speaker 3 (33:27):
Housing oh and THE h ONE b Visa.
Speaker 2 (33:34):
Trump talking about the importance of skilled the immigrant, Labor,
well that certainly pushes back Against democrats and their continued
immigration narratives That trump is just a racist relating to,
immigration and.
Speaker 3 (33:53):
Don't think for, listen here's an example right.
Speaker 2 (33:55):
Here this Is Peggy flanagin recent campaign stop looking in
front of a group of older white liberal. Women that's
all that was in the, room and this is what
she had to.
Speaker 20 (34:06):
Say, well, friends when we started fighting for these, ideas
they were moonshot, ideas, Right but WHAT i learned is
that you don't get.
Speaker 5 (34:15):
What you don't fight.
Speaker 20 (34:17):
For and folks deserve that we fight for. Them they
deserve to, thrive and we have to stop negotiating with
ourselves and dare to.
Speaker 3 (34:26):
Dream so how about you get there to?
Speaker 16 (34:28):
Dream.
Speaker 2 (34:28):
Everybody there's so Much, listen there's so little substance in
that in this in what she has to say, Here
BUT i do want to zero in on what little
substance she does speak of in the minute that remains
in this audio.
Speaker 20 (34:40):
This how about we push for real healthcare reform where
some guy behind a desk doesn't get to decide whether
you live or, die and we get rid of prior.
Authorization How about how about real immigration for that is
(35:00):
focused on safety and due process and humanity and the
needs of our country because we know that our economy
and our communities are improved by our immigrants.
Speaker 21 (35:11):
Neighbors and how about we stop billionaires and greedy corporations
from controlling our.
Speaker 2 (35:28):
Elections it's all just, shallow vapid. Commentary AND i don't
have any larger expectation that you're going to make, huge
sweeping changes to The democrat voting base based off of
What i'm saying here and What trump is, Suggesting but
(35:50):
every single one of these suggestions absolutely pushes back on
the narratives That democrats continue to go and use during
their campaign means of. Propaganda we can hash out the
details on all of these, issues dividend, checks fifty year,
mortgages people getting frustrated Over trump's comments over h ONE b,
(36:12):
visas And trump can do a lot of things via
executive order and, memorandums but everything else has to go Through.
Speaker 3 (36:19):
Congress we have our checks and.
Speaker 2 (36:20):
BALANCES i just personally don't want to continue to see
conservatives losing sight here on the bigger picture of the
issues that aren't nearly as important right now as the
messaging and the momentum taking, place and at a time
where as you heard From Caroline, levitt people are using
(36:43):
x more often to go and consume their news and
where they get their news. From it doesn't Do trump
Or republicans any good when people start freaking out knee
jerk reactions to proposals That trump has before we have
even gone and had a debate or heard anything relating
(37:04):
to how this would move Through congress or how he
would go and implement. This trump makes all kinds of different.
Suggestions sometimes they're, good sometimes they're. Bad And i'm not
saying that the fifty year mortgage is a good idea
or that the two thousand dollars dividend check is a good.
Idea WHAT i am, saying, though is certainly pushes back
on so many of those liberal narratives right now as
(37:25):
they continue to try to drag Down trump's. Popularity as
conservatives And, republicans we don't need to do that on our.
Own The democrats are doing it just fine on their.
Own we'll get back to more of your talkback's coming
up in just a moment here On Twin City's News.
Talk we'll give you the latest regarding The snap. Payments
Supreme court extends the order blocking The snap, payments and
(37:48):

Speaker 3 (37:55):
