Speaker 1 (00:03):
Hello, that what he means, this old Testament, mister mayor
real wrath of God type stuff, fire and brimstone coming
down from the skies, rivers and seas boiling forty years
of darkness, earthquakes, volcanoes, the bed rising.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
From the green, human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together, massistaria.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
Were you stuck up, half witted, scruffy looking not harder?
We come to this place from magic, to cry, to
care because we need that. That is like a psychopathic
that indescribable feeling.

Speaker 4 (00:39):
We get.

Speaker 3 (00:42):
And we go somewhere we've never been before. Not just entertained,
but somehow we form our hate space together sound that
I can feel. Somehow heartbreak feels.

Speaker 4 (00:56):
Good in a place like I do take it personally.

Speaker 3 (00:58):
Our heroes feel like the best part of us. These
stories feel perfect and powerful because here.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
They are LEAs good stock.

Speaker 4 (01:12):
Please me m.

Speaker 5 (01:18):
Energy energy, energy, energy.

Speaker 4 (01:29):
Oh hell yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
Twenty Cities News Talk AM eleven thirty one O three
five FM.

Speaker 4 (01:40):
I'm streaming on.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
The iHeartRadio app and broadcasting from the six y five
to one Carpet plus Next Day Install studios.

Speaker 4 (01:49):
My name is John Justice. On a Freedom.

Speaker 1 (01:52):

Speaker 4 (01:56):
Good to see you, my friend. Good morning John, Happy
for Happy Friday to you. Missed you the past two days.

Likewise, gunt in.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
The studio for a Freedom Friday today, So we'll have
Grace Keating, Catherine Johnson from American Experiment and changing the
lineup a voice not heard here on Twin City's News
Talk for far too long, and that would be Brian McDaniel.

Speaker 4 (02:29):
He'll be joining us in the studio coming.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
Up at six point thirty this morning, political pundent, host
about the Wrong About Everything podcast, stand up comedian, So
he'll be joining Grace and Catherine and hopefully should be
here right around six thirty this morning, and you as
well throughout the show today as we have a lot
to discuss this morning. Walls has caught in another lie.

(02:51):
What's most interesting isn't the fact that he's lying again,
that's a given, but it's the Minnesota Reformers calling him
out on it, kind of doubling down. We'll dive into
that coming up at seven o'clock this morning. Interesting controversy
regarding the lightrail and money that is supposed to be

(03:12):
spent on looking into writership and usage, and yet it
appears that the dollars may be going to essentially contractors
to provide their own endorsements of the light rail. It's
all very confusing, So we'll talk about that coming up
at eight o'clock this morning. Oh Chinese robots that may

(03:33):
in Vay Taiwan. I'm looking forward to that story. Also,
one woman's lawn fight against an hoa really stunning story
and I'm very interested to see what your thoughts are
about it on the show today, And of course you're
on and off topic comments from the iHeartRadio app all

(03:53):
morning long this morning on Twin City's News Talk. Let's
start here though. Continued fallout from the Epstein email leak.
I saw this morning that a bunch of prominent Democrats
who had shotgun that email that prompted all the individuals
to post online that Meg was dead. They've actually gone
back and they've deleted all those posts regarding the emails.

(04:16):
It's unsurprising because the whole thing was immediately debunked, and
it was there only to go and distract from the
Democrats caving in the shutdown, MSNBC host Jen Saki, the
President has been.

Speaker 7 (04:29):
Clear that our risk is not having a package that's
too big, it's having a package that's too small.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
She appeared to refer to President Donald Trump as a
straight up predator and a sexual predator at that on
her show Wednesday, before quickly going and taking that back.

Speaker 8 (04:45):
In supporting what Donald Trump is doing, you're talking about
the other predators out there in addition to Trump. I mean,
and I'm not saying he is.

Speaker 9 (04:53):
We don't know all the details about that.

Speaker 4 (04:54):
I just mean, in addition to.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
What we've learned about Epstein and others, there's other predators
out there.

Speaker 8 (04:58):
There are, and we have to remind remember that als cos.

Speaker 4 (05:01):
When yeah but yeah, but you but you did in
supporting what.

Speaker 9 (05:05):
Donald Trump is doing, You're talking about the other predators
out there in addition to Trump.

Speaker 8 (05:09):
I mean, and I'm not saying he is. We don't
know all the details about that.

Speaker 10 (05:12):
I just they have what's called a Trump derangement problem.

Speaker 4 (05:16):
Have you heard about that problem?

Speaker 11 (05:17):
You could almost see when you watch the video, like
the moment when she witnessed in her mind's eye the
lawsuit that was about to ensue if she didn't go
and make that rather quick correction on the fly.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
After calling Trump a sexual predator. I wonder how her
ratings are doing. Coming up, we'll talk a little bit
more about this. What we actually did find out via
the release of the Epstein emails. Now the Democrats are
no longer concerned with anything relating to that smear campaign

(05:53):
earlier in the in the week. Also, a really interesting
piece of audio that I wanted to share with you,
yes yesterday, I didn't get a chance to you, so
we'll do it on a Freedom Friday. But it is
a voicemail from President Donald Trump to the Ozzy Osbourne family,
really moving and again showing the true character of the president.
So we'll get into that prior to our guests of

(06:14):
joining us in studio this morning Again, Brian McDaniel hosted
the Wrong About Everything podcast to Grace and Catherine from
American Experiment and your comments talk back from the iHeartRadio
app all morning long on a Freedom Friday, brought to
you by Lyndahl Realty.

Speaker 12 (06:32):
Hello John Jessics, I don't know who your producer is.
Today's phone calling before you started? Okay, looking forward to
Freedom Friday. I don't know who your guests are, but
I'm sure it's going to be good. And I'm still
wondering about the ones that are running for senators if
they're going to have a chance to win, and the

(06:53):
ones who are run for governor, well they have a
chance to win, you know what.

Speaker 1 (06:57):
I'll address that coming up next here on Twin City's
News Talk AM eleven thirty and one oh three five FM.

Speaker 4 (07:02):
Good morning, and I love your show. Ai, this is
the Twin Cities news talk station. Hope, whoa John?

Speaker 13 (07:13):
You're telling me you're gonna kick off a Freedom Friday
with no Zema phizz.

Speaker 4 (07:19):
Shuh shuh, John.

Speaker 14 (07:22):
Let's not.

Speaker 1 (07:23):
Let's let's redo this.

Speaker 4 (07:24):
You can fix this, Make it right, Make it right, John.

Speaker 15 (07:29):
Happy Freedom Friday. I am disappointed that I didn't hear
Zema phizz. However, I am pleased that you played the
cats and dogs living together audio. And I hope no
one at work talks to me during the homeowners association

(07:49):
story because that sounds really interesting.

Speaker 4 (07:52):
And I hope you have a really good day.

Speaker 1 (07:54):
We'll be getting into that next hour once all of
our guests have arrived in studio, cause I get the
feeling it's going to take over. It is a fascinating
story of this woman who basically wanted a lot of
growth in her yard and ended up having this lengthy
battle with her hoa. The details are wild. We'll get

(08:16):
into it next hour. So I have a little bit
of bad news. Probably won't be hearing Ziema Phizz for
a while.

Speaker 4 (08:26):
At a minimum.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
So there are some We had some issues regarding the
licensing with playing just music on the show in and
of itself, which is why we have different bumper music
than what you've heard in years past. But apparently now
there is also an issue relating to AI that.

Speaker 4 (08:45):
We have run into.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
So I've been informed to hold off on playing anything
from the AI Overlords unfortunately, So I guess essentially that's
a long way for me to say that the AI
Overlords have gone on hiatus.

Speaker 4 (09:02):
There you go.

Speaker 6 (09:03):
They're not fired there like you said, just on hiatus.

Speaker 4 (09:05):
Yeah, they're take it out, They're taking a break.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
They're taking a break to pursue other interests, maybe some
some solo some solo outings. So unfortunately, because of that,
uh no Zema no Zeema fhis for for a while.

Speaker 4 (09:17):
But thank you for noticing. I expected that you were going.

Speaker 13 (09:20):
To Good morning, gentlemen, Happy Freedom Friday.

Speaker 4 (09:24):
Just curious.

Speaker 13 (09:25):
I try to listen almost every day and I'm just wondering,
have you ever consolidated your sound bites? Like the intro
this morning was great a place to get those, download
those so we can put them on our phone, maybe
without actually having to sign up for X I currently
don't want.

Speaker 4 (09:43):
I don't up on my phone.

Speaker 13 (09:44):
I would just like an easy way or a way
to get those sound bites. Thanks, and have a great weekend.

Speaker 1 (09:50):
Yeah, unfortunately, there's really no easy way to do that.
I mean, all the all the sound bites that we
have are in our own computer system, and there's no
way to go and cross those over to another platform.
I mean, we could of course build a third party
website or something on the website wherein you could go
and grab all of those, but that would also be

(10:10):
incredibly labor intensive on top of everything that we need.

Speaker 4 (10:14):
To do on the show on a daily basis.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
So typically what I go and say to people is
that when it comes to specific things, especially like songs
by the AI Overlords or the parodies that we play,
like if you want copies of those, I'm happy to
go and send them to you, but I don't have
I only have a handful of things, and usually those
are reserved or those MP three's that I have are
reserved to those specific parodies that we've talked about in

(10:39):
the in the past.

Speaker 6 (10:40):
Yeah, I would say, you know, the worst thing, if
you choose to email or do a talkback or whatever,
the worst we'll say is no.

Speaker 4 (10:47):
But I mean we could try. I mean it's never
it's never like a no no. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
Yeah, there was a time and you had sort of
you had a lot more bodies involved in shows where
you could go and hand that off, and we just
do not live in that world anymore.

Speaker 4 (11:01):
Cree to Friday.

Speaker 11 (11:02):
Hey, if you're going to do zeema, Fiz, can you
at least do buy a shotgun with Biden Nick.

Speaker 4 (11:07):
That's a really good way to start. Yeah, we can
find that one. It's a hockey everybody every good day.
If you're what's to be saved or bagging here, buy Sam.
I know you're busy.

Speaker 1 (11:16):
I know you're busy in there, but if you can
track down the Biden shotgun intro, yeah, maybe we can.
Maybe we can play that coming up at the at
the top of the hour. It's been a long time.
But yeah, that's a fantastic suggestion. I haven't heard that
one in oh my gosh, a long long time. All right,
let's go here to the iHeartRadio app on Twin Cities
news Talk broadcasting from the six five to one carpet

(11:37):
plus Next Day install studios.

Speaker 8 (11:39):
The Epstein files are never going to be released because
the Democrats are going to have to defend themselves and
that will distract away from accusing Trump of everything, and
it will be one last thing that they can accuse
Trump of once they find out. It's a nothing burger
as far as Trump goes. So don't expect the Epstein
files to be opened up anytime.

Speaker 1 (12:00):
No, listen, I don't, And the Epstein files, in my opinion,
at least for the time being, they're going to be
used as political fodder from both sides of the of
the aisle. The whole issue of the Epstein files, I
also think that's, you know, a bit of a the
misnomer in and of itself. I don't know if there

(12:22):
are actual files, just the Epstein information is probably a
better way to describe it.

Speaker 4 (12:27):
But now I'm splitting hair.

Speaker 1 (12:29):
So ultimately I think both sides are going to use
this to their advantage when it's available. What we actually
did learn from those emails that came out earlier this
week was that Epstein hated Trump. Epstein didn't trust Trump,
they weren't friends. The New York Times actually directly worked
with Epstein to suppress.

Speaker 4 (12:49):
Stories about him.

Speaker 1 (12:52):
After Bradley Edwards, the lawyer for the accusers, said that
Trump was the only individual to cooperate and help. Epstein
then said that Trump didn't have have one decent cell
in his body. This was also compelling that Democrats faked
the redaction of the supposed victim's name, and as I said,
they've already gone back and deleted the original posts of

(13:13):
the claims that came out earlier this week. That name
that they blocked was Virginia Giuffrey, who publicly testified that
Trump was innocent. Oh and also, a Russia Gate was
continued to be confirmed as a hoax, just like people
have been saying all along. There was also this other
narrative going around that President Donald Trump was pressuring Republicans

(13:36):
over this particular issue regarding the release of the Epstein information,
Representative Lauren Bobert, though yesterday she ended up shooting that
left wing narrative down when she said this, this is.

Speaker 5 (13:49):
An administration who's going to continue to be transparent and
honest and we'll see what comes of it. But there
was no pressure, and I mean everybody's great and worked
just well with me. Daddy's that would have been lost
under Joe Biden's leadership if you ever let it all.

Speaker 15 (14:08):
But you don't feel like you've been marginalize in back
the world when you're ready by we are a position here.

Speaker 5 (14:12):
No, I don't film marginalize at all. President Trump is
an amazing man. I stand by him. I stand by
his administration and everything that he is doing to fix
the mess of the Biden administration.

Speaker 1 (14:25):
To Bobert's point of Trump being an amazing man, I
will share with you the personal voicemail that President Donald
Trump left for Sharon Osbourne after the passing of her
husband Ozzy. Also, the DOJ is seeking a suspect after
an attack on the US Attorney Alina Hobba's office, and
the Trump administration makes good handing out checks to TSA

(14:48):
agents who worked through the shutdown. It's all coming up
along with your comments on a Freedom Friday from the
iHeartRadio app brought to you by Lyndahl Realty next on
Twin Cities News Talk AM eleven thirty and one of
three three point five, And I heard radio station.

Speaker 3 (15:05):
I have two shotguns on my home.

Speaker 16 (15:10):
They're locked in a safe. There's a metal gun in case.

Speaker 17 (15:14):
We live in an area that's wooded, someone's secluded.

Speaker 1 (15:18):
And I said, Jill, if there's ever a problem, just
walk out on the balcony and fire two.

Speaker 17 (15:25):
Blasts outside guns by shotgun, Buy shotgun.

Speaker 4 (15:33):
You don't need machine gun. You don't need thirty.

Speaker 2 (15:36):
Rounds by shotgun, by dot that shotgun. You don't need
the flame fower, and you don't need you to change.
You don't need an AAR fifteen sand of stuffs away No,
and I don't need a grenade munch. I don't need
an F fifteen. It's just one thing I need to

(15:57):
do in the sail away from me. Fire two shotgun
by shotgun, job shotgun. If you don't need your shotguns.

Speaker 1 (16:16):
Shotgun Twin Cities News Talk AM eleven thirty one oh
three five FM on a Freedom Friday. Oh like a
breath of fresh air. I haven't heard that forever. Joe
Biden shotgun song from the six five to one Carpet

(16:40):
Next Day Install Studios.

Speaker 4 (16:41):
Glad you're with the show this morning.

Speaker 1 (16:44):
Our Freedom Friday guests will be making their way here
in studio, hopefully very shortly. Brian McDaniel, political pundit, attorney,
host of The Wrong About Everything podcast, stand up comedian.

Speaker 4 (16:55):
He'll be joining us this morning.

Speaker 1 (16:57):
Also, Catherine and Grace from the American Experiment podcast should
be in right around to the top of the hour,
and you're on and off topic comments all morning long.
Reality TV star Sharon Osborne became emotional when she shared
a personal voicemail that President Donald Trump left for her
after the death of Ozzy in July. This was during

(17:19):
an episode of The Osbourne's podcast, wherein Sharon played the
voicemail for the for her audience.

Speaker 4 (17:29):
I need to go to here.

Speaker 16 (17:31):
I mean, should we play the voicemail? I'm saying who
it's from. Everyone everyone will know.

Speaker 17 (17:42):
I Sharon is subtle Trump, and I just wanted to
wish you the best. And the family of great Ozie
was amazing. He was an amazing guy. I met him
a few times and I want to say it was
unique in every way and talented. So I just wanted
to wish you the best, and it's a tough thing.
I know how close you were, and whatever I can do,

(18:02):
take care of yourself.

Speaker 4 (18:03):
Sailer to the family.

Speaker 16 (18:04):
Thanks by love him or hate him, he didn't have
to call and leave a voicemail. Listen, when it comes
to politics, we know nobody comes out a winner.

Speaker 1 (18:23):
It's interesting because and I know that there's no way,
there's no way that what I'm about to say would
it ever happen. It just it's it's impossible that ship sailed.
The moment that President Donald Trump, when people started to

(18:44):
realize that Trump was going to beat Hillary Clinton, what
I'm about to say just went out the window and
there is no going back. But the real tragedy in
all of this negativity towards Trump is that we could
be in such a dramatically different place actually hammering out

(19:05):
the issues from a standpoint of we are a divided country.
It is you know, center right sometimes goes center left.
Things have gotten more divided than they've ever been, but
you know, we still have a country that's generally speaking
made up fifty to fifty, you know, with the various
little carve outs from other parties involved in there. But

(19:27):
you understand what I'm saying, and because of that, if
there hadn't been this complete overreaction and ridiculous mindset on
President Donald Trump, we would be in a dramatically better
place across the board. Again, I'm speaking fantasyland right now.

(19:53):
It just it's a it's an impossibility.

Speaker 4 (19:57):
I bring it up.

Speaker 1 (19:57):
Because I'm just listening to that comment, that voicemail from
Trump and what we've heard from other individuals. We've had
the opportunity and the privilege to meet Trump or spend
time with him working within his administration, and the positive
things that are said about him, but the Democrats simply
would never allow that to happen. And through the course

(20:19):
of the years since he beat Hillary Clinton that you
and I both know, and I mean we're going to
be talking about it on the show this morning, it's
just gotten worse and worse and worse. This is a
commentary that is closely aligned with what I've said all along,
and that is the biggest mistake that Democrats ever made,
was to go and just point their ire at Trump

(20:40):
and never relent, because they could have gotten a lot
of what they wanted to get past in that first
administration and probably even now if they would ever wise up,
you know, up root to their heels that they've dug
in so deeply over the hatred of this man, because
ultimately he just wants to do what he feels is

(21:00):
right for the country. And that was indicative of the mega.

Speaker 4 (21:06):
Frustration with Trump this past.

Speaker 1 (21:07):
Week, whether it's over the possibility of fifty year mortgages
that we talked about earlier in the week, whether it's
Trump and his comments of being more sympathetic, for lack
of a better way to describe it, towards the H
one B visas. There are plenty of times when Trump
has suggested policy that pushes back on what conservatives believe

(21:28):
in and leans in a little bit more towards what
Democrats do, and then typically he you know, refines that
and ends up aligning more with the America First, you know,
Maga agenda. But Democrats could have gotten a lot of
what they wanted in that first administration if they hadn't
been so ardently against him, and they also would have

(21:48):
taken away a lot of the power, for lack of
a better way to describe it, doing nothing with my
fingers that Trump has regarding the support among conservatives, because
there would have been plenty of Republicans that would have
been upset that Trump was going on on along at
all with Democrats. And again this is all just fantasyland
Freedom Friday, extrapolating on the possibilities of what could have been,

(22:10):
because we're just not there anymore. Ultimately, I believe a
lot like previous Republican presidents. George Bush is the one
that comes to mind when I make a comment like this.
I believe that Trump wants to do what he believes
is best for the country, even though you may not
agree with that.

Speaker 4 (22:29):
His heart is in the right place. And like George
George W.

Speaker 1 (22:33):
Bush's heart was in the right place, but unfortunately he
screwed up relating to things like immigration when he had
the opportunity to go and do something about it, and
he didn't criticized him for it, but still generally speaking,
understood that he wanted to do what was best for
the country. You cannot say that for Joe Biden and
the individuals around Joe Biden. You cannot say that about

(22:55):
former President Barack Obama, who is in no small part
responsible for the divisions that continue to be sewed today
and why we have stories like this that do not
get covered on the other media outlets apart from nationally
places like Fox News or locally places like Alpha News.

(23:17):
Attorney General Pam Bondi announced yesterday that an individual attempted
to confront Acting US Attorney for the District of New
Jersey Alena Haba on Wednesday night, destroyed property in her office,
and then fled the scene. Bondi said, thankfully, Alena is okay.
Any threats of violence or violence against any federal officer

(23:42):
will not be tolerated period. This is unfortunately becoming a
trend as radicals continue to attack law enforcement agents around
the country. We will find this person and the individual
will be brought to justice. Haaba said following the incident,
I will not be intimidated by radical lunatics for doing
my job. On the website for the Justice Department, they

(24:03):
said that as Acting US Attorney and Special Attorney to
the United States, Haba is responsible for overseeing all federal
criminal prosecutions and the litigation of civil matters in New
Jersey in which the federal government has an interest. But again,
here you have a story where the DJ is seeking
a suspect after an attack on Alina Hobba's office. And
yet there's nothing coming from the mainstream media. It's kind

(24:26):
of relevant news. Just a little teeny tiny bit. Let's
go to your talkbacks from the iHeart radio app this
morning and Nope, sorry.

Speaker 4 (24:38):
I can't.

Speaker 1 (24:39):
Hey, if you're gonna leave a talkback, you can't curse
in it.

Speaker 4 (24:43):
How many times do I have to?

Speaker 1 (24:47):
Can we do a like I was talking with legal
form my heart earlier this week, I wonder if we
can put like a disclaimer up when you go to
record your talkback. Just a reminder from John Justice on
Twinsday's news, don't curse.

Speaker 6 (25:01):
It could be a little video of you almost like
it pop up bad kind of thing. Oh do you
like point out them like they're not cursed?

Speaker 4 (25:07):
I like that. I'd like that.

Speaker 1 (25:10):
It's like going back to the eighties when you had
the celebrities and they would do PSAs at ten o'clock
at night, and they would pop up on your TV
and they say, it's ten o'clock.

Speaker 4 (25:17):
Do you know where your children are at?

Speaker 1 (25:19):
That was actually a thing that was actually a thing
back in the eighties because kids actually went out and
did stuff and were out late at night.

Speaker 4 (25:25):
And I'm not talking about.

Speaker 1 (25:26):
Carjackings I'm talking about just going out and playing basketball
and hanging out with their friends, or exploring the forests
near their homes, and you ended up having to have
a PSA because parents wouldn't know where their children were
at night. Two more closely aligned with what you were suggesting.
You know, in my car, I've had to sort of

(25:48):
learn the ins and outs because it's the most modern vehicle.

Speaker 4 (25:51):
That I've ever owned.

Speaker 1 (25:52):
Being a twenty twenty three drove me nuts, though, because
every time I would go online to click to learn
something new about the features in the vehicle, instead of
just giving me like a text rundown, it would send
me to a video of a very lovely model inside
of akia displaying all the wonderful features and telling me
how it works.

Speaker 4 (26:09):
Like, I don't want a video, I just want to
read to learn how it works. That would make it
a heck of a lot easier for me. All right,
I think we can go here.

Speaker 10 (26:19):
If you believe polls, seventy percent of Americans agree with
Trump's border policy and his deportation protocol. I don't personally
believe in polls, so I actually think that percentage is higher. Yeah,

(26:40):
in any case, that's not a divided country.

Speaker 1 (26:43):
Well, it depends on what issues you are referring to, Sheila.
We are a divided country. You cannot dispute that you
may have the issues that people go and agree upon,
and that may be shown inside of polling, but there
is absolutely no debate in my mind of just how divided.

Speaker 4 (27:03):
The country is.

Speaker 1 (27:04):
You can argue how divided we are compared to times
in the past, but that being said, we are absolutely
a divided nation right now.

Speaker 9 (27:13):
Good morning, John Alna Hava. It is so disturbing to
see how the left can only respond with violence. I'm
not saying the right is perfect, but I haven't seen
any of our side going after judges and other Well,
Charlie Kirr, great. I mean, if you're a democrat, I

(27:34):
think you're a democrat, you might want to wake up
and see who you're hanging out with.

Speaker 1 (27:38):
Let me add another caveat to the talkbacks. Also, don't
try to get clever because I'm not playing your talkbacks either.
I know it's a Freedom Friday, but come on, guys,
exercise a modicum of restraint. Give me a favor hold
on Security. Secretary Christy nom announced on Thursday the thousands
of TSA agents would receive a ten thousand dollars bonus

(28:01):
check for showing exemplary service and stepping up during the
government shutdown. I had a press conference alongside a group
of TSA agents who were among the more than one
million government workers who've been weeks without pay during the
longest shutdown in American history, adding that the administration will
be looking at every single TSA official that helped serve

(28:23):
during this government shutdown and do what we can to
recognize that they and recognize that they didn't call in
sick for work and help them financially with a bonus check.
Trump has also promised to hand out ten thousand dollars
bonus checks to air traffic controllers who stayed on the
job during the shutdown. Listen, I don't know about you,
but if I were a government employee and the government

(28:46):
and the you know, we had the shutdown that we
went through, I would still be showing up for work.
Why in the world would you not show up for
your job. I know you're not getting paid. I understand
the argument, don't mist understand. I also want also, I
would believe that probably a lot of individuals don't support
President Donald Trump that work for these various government entities.

(29:11):
But that being said, why would you still go and
risk your job knowing the Trump administration was letting people go,
knowing that at the start of Trump's administration for this
term earlier this year, they were letting government to employees go.

Speaker 4 (29:27):
Also just knowing the fact that.

Speaker 1 (29:29):
You're probably going to end up getting that money anyways
once the government reopens back up.

Speaker 4 (29:37):
That's what blows my mind.

Speaker 1 (29:38):
So Hattip to those guys that got the ten thousand
dollars bonus checks, I mean, what a bonus. But perhaps
I just have a better work ethic than a lot
of people.

Speaker 4 (29:51):
Sam, you work a lot of jobs.

Speaker 1 (29:52):
Would you have kept would you have kept going into
if you worked for the government, would you have kept
going into work? Or would you have been like, Ah,
I'm not getting paid. I'm not I'm not heading in
or maybe it's unfair for me to No, it's okay.

Speaker 6 (30:02):
I mean the irony is I don't take home a
lot of pay from this job because I put it
mostly towards my iHeart four one K in taxes, so
I kind of feel where they're coming from. I just
show up and then it's like, oh, I got you know,
a few extra dollars in my bank account. Cool.

Speaker 4 (30:18):
Yeah, but you know I.

Speaker 1 (30:20):
Would I would not be I'd be like, yeah, I
know I'm not getting paid, but I also know eventually
the government's going to reopen, and I still want to
have my job, and I would still like to get
paid for the work that I was doing, so I
would still keep coming to to work. But then I've
always had and maybe it's unfair for me because of
the profession that I have chosen, because for me, I've

(30:42):
always just considered myself. I probably shouldn't say this live
on the air, but it is a freedom Friday. You know,
I understand how businesses work. At the end of the day,
you are a number. I get it, and hopefully you
develop a good enough rapport and you are a valuable
enough employee that you know, if the cuts come from
up on high down, then maybe your job can be said.

(31:05):
But even if it doesn't, you kind of go, that's
just the job that I have chosen. I've always personally
felt that way. It's also a self preservation a thing
is as well. Make sure you never put your boss
in a position.

Speaker 4 (31:19):
To get mad at you. That's what the advice that
I give to my children.

Speaker 1 (31:22):
I wanted to give you an update on what happened
with the shutdown regarding the hemp industry. Lawyer extraordinaire Jeff O'Brien,
through his law firm Hush Blackwell, they put out a
lengthy report which is actually available on my x feed
at John joen Justice.

Speaker 4 (31:39):
You can go and find it there.

Speaker 1 (31:42):
But what was included in the reopening package with respect
to hemp, Because a lot of people have been asking
if those restrictions regarding hemp products here in Minnesota actually
went through, and they did.

Speaker 4 (31:54):
Since June of twenty twenty five.

Speaker 1 (31:56):
They write in this piece, the end of the government
shutdown starts at start a three hundred and sixty five
day countdown for the hemp industry. Since June of twenty five,
industry efforts have targeted the removal of language championed by
Representative Andy Harris in the twenty twenty six Health Agriculture
Appropriations Bill. The language would have excluded from the legal

(32:17):
definition of hemp any products containing synthetic cannabinoids or a
quantifiable amount at THHC and any other intoxicating cannabinoids. Similar
language in the Senate Companion Bill had been removed, but
when the Senate released the text of the bills to
be considered on November ninth, they included alternative language regarding hemp.

(32:41):
The bills ultimately passed with this language alternative language as
part of the government reopening. One important concession included with
respect to HEMP was that the language will not be
in effect for three hundred and sixty five days. So,
as we talked about at length with lawyer extraordinaire Jeff
O'Brien earlier this week, you can go and hear that

(33:02):
podcast on Wednesday's show, there's a year here for changes
to be made at the federal level before it has
an impact on those businesses negatively here in Minnesota that
are already selling these products that contain between five and
ten milligrams of THHC derived from hemp via Delta eight

(33:24):
and Delta nine. According to Jeff I was talking to
him a bit yesterday, there's not a sense of panic
just yet. There's a lot of hope that perhaps this
will be remedied between now and the end of the year,
and also potentially an expectation that Trump may go ahead
and move. As Jeff said on the show earlier, this

(33:45):
week may move to go ahead and declassify marijuana and
make it legal nationwide, in which case all of what
I'm talking about right now may actually be a complete
moot point. All right, let's get you a couple of
your talk batch on the iHeartRadio apps are to make
their way in studio for a Freedom Friday this morning
here on Twin City's News Talk.

Speaker 4 (34:05):
Hey, John, pat friend of the show.

Speaker 7 (34:07):
I'm a retired federal employee. By law that was signed
in twenty nineteen, everybody, every federal employee will get paid,
whether they were furloughed or not. And before that they
always paid us anyway, because quite personally, I think it
costs them more, would have cost them more to try

(34:28):
to refigure all the benefits that will.

Speaker 18 (34:34):
Good morning everybody. It's Chad from Delano. Happy Friday. Yeah,
that's great. The bonuses for the people that showed up
to work. If you're calling in sick, you don't deserve bonuses.
So anyways, that's my stance on it.

Speaker 14 (34:52):
Good morning, John, This is Mike from Saint Paul. One
thing you're not realizing is so many people today think
that at having a job is a right, not a privilege. Therefore,
if they're not getting paid, they're not going to show
up because well that's just their right, all right.

Speaker 1 (35:09):
We'll continue to get to your comments coming up from
the iHeart Radio app here on Twin Cities News Talk.
As we enter into hour two, we have guests that
are arriving. I believe Grace and Catherine have showed up downstairs.
They'll be heading up shortly. And I'm staring at Brian
McDaniel right now across the room here in the studio
a Twin Cities News Talk. Hello, Brian, how you doing
on time? No see man, I know, finally I.

Speaker 4 (35:31):
Have come back to KATLK. It's fantastic. I'm so glad
you're here this morning. Giddy up.

Speaker 1 (35:36):
We'll get your thoughts on whether or not if you
worked for the government and it shut down, you would
have shown up for work or if you would have
stayed home. We'll do that coming up, and we'll get
to more of your thoughts from the iHeartRadio app next
on a Freedom Friday here on Twin City's News Talk
Am eleven thirty and one oh three five FM.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
