Speaker 1 (00:01):
Kata before you go.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
Will the government open this upcoming week?

Speaker 3 (00:04):
This is getting.

Speaker 4 (00:04):
Seriously impacting the US economy.

Speaker 5 (00:07):
What's your tape?

Speaker 6 (00:09):
I think it's likely to open Wednesday or Thursday of
this week. The Democrats will wait until after election day
because they think a shutdown is good for energizing the
crazies in their party. But I think it'll be either
late this week or early next week.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Hey, I believe that's what I said.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
I hope you had a fantastic weekend. Thank you for
joining the show on a Monday morning. My name is
John Justice, sitting here in the sixty five to one
carpet plus Next Day Install studios. You are listening to
Twin Cities News Talk at AM eleven thirty one oh
three five FM streaming on the iHeartRadio app. We have
a brand new phone number eight four four nine four

(00:53):
six fifty eight fifty five Brett. Were you aware of
this prior to your arrival this morning? And good morning
to you.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
Good morning. I was privy to it. Yeah, it's a
it's a neat change, very exciting. I was informed on Friday.
I was completely unaware of this.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
The phones went down, so the hot line went down,
I don't know what was it like two week two
weeks to replace the hot line exactly, but it feels like,
I mean, it's been at least what ninety days, if not,
if not longer than that.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
But I didn't know why they had gone down.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
I was complete. I didn't know what the what the
reason was. So I was told that we had to
get new lines, which just really caused confusion. I'm like, what,
we can't fix the one that's that we have found
out on Friday And this is a this is a
nice teachable moment to, you know, when you're curious about something,
asked questions, talk to boss Manchad. Boss Manchad let me

(01:43):
know that we had to update to a digital line.
We were still working off of an analog phone line,
so you know, it was like the uh, the dixie
cup in the string, you know, between the between between
the walls, that kind of that kind of situation. So
we have a new digital line tho, which is kind
of fun.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
Nice.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
Yeah, I had no idea, but that may to all
the sense in the world. You're fascinating to talk to
on the show this morning, Andrew lang Or, our DC correspondent.
He'll be joining us coming up at six point thirty.
We will later in the show get into House Speaker
Lisa Damuth announcing her gubernatorial run, already taking shots from

(02:20):
both Republicans and Democrats. That's not good, the Democrat part
of it. I completely understand the Republican side of things.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
I'm like, it's a bit of an eye roll. We'll
get into it.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
I understand the other candidates are going to have to
differentiate themselves within a crowded Republican field.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
Like I get that. I wish we.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
Didn't have so many candidates running, I'll be honest, because
we have a golden opportunity here.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
You know, we're just we're divided.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
We need to make sure that we get as many
Republicans out to go and vote as possible. That's really
what it comes down to. So while we go through
what will most likely end up being an incredibly contentious
period between now and next year, the unfortunate endorsement process,
which I wish that we could just eliminate. Hey, let's

(03:15):
keep the filibuster in Congress, but let's get rid of
the Minnesota GOP endorsement process.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
I'd be down with that.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
But we will get to a primary and I hope
whoever the GOP, whoever the voters decide, is going to
be the nominee that everybody coalesces around that individual, because
we do have opportunities, and the last thing that we
need to go and do is to eat our own
and do our own chances at victory and most importantly,

(03:43):
keeping Governor Tim Walls from getting what would end up
being a historic third term.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
Oh hell yeah, that's right.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
Do not want him to win.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
I just want to make sure I was clear on
why I was dropping that just there, not to cause
any confusion. We'll also get into the assassination culture that
we're currently enduring. A couple of different stories Halloween costumes
that sparked controversies. Teachers in a school district located in
an area of which I did a radio show for

(04:13):
almost a decade cause controversy. That story's gone completely viral,
So we'll dive into that after my conversation.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
With Andrew Langer this morning.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
Let's start here though, capping off Halloween weekend?

Speaker 2 (04:23):
Did you have it? Did you did you do anything
fun for Halloween? There?

Speaker 5 (04:25):
Brett, I'm not as far if costume goes. When a
few games had a family in town, but no costume,
didn't no getting dressed up. I would like to, it
just didn't have like a big party to go to.
So I didn't see the point.

Speaker 1 (04:37):
You look a little bit like Palpatine right now with
your hood up in the master control.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
With well it's cold in here. You know you do
have a thervicet animal. While yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
These are more off air conversations I suppose that we
could we could have but keeping with the scary theme,
and there's a couple of different examples of this bias
in the mainstream media. So we talked about the break
News on Friday show during our Halloween Freedom Friday, but
FBI Director Cash Betel making the announcement of the thwarting

(05:09):
of a how Loween inspired terror plot. We now have
further details, although if you look at the headline from
the ap they frame it this way. Michigan lawyer says
Halloween terror plot that FBI Director Cash Betel described never existed.
So it's not the FBI stating facts. It's not the
law enforcement entity that gets the headline. It's the detractor

(05:34):
defending the lawyer defending one of the suspects. To give
you the sort of overview on this as we kick
the show off this morning. The FBI raided multiple homes
in Dearborn, Michigan, where apparently individuals were plotting a coordinated
violent attack on Halloween weekend. It was confirmed the suspects

(05:59):
were apparently Muslims tied to ISIS extremism. They had AK
forty seven weapons and firearm training. The suspects were coordinating
a violent attack involving firearms with references to Pumpkin Day,
a code a term for Halloween.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
It makes sense in online.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
Chat groups the plot was tied to ISIS extremism and
the suspects again had access to AK forty sevens and
other weapons along with that firearm training. Potential targets included Ford,
some high school, and other public events. It suggested a
mash casualty event during crowded Halloween celebrations. So the Michigan,
Michigan defense lawyer that is disputing FBI director Cash Bettel

(06:43):
is what the AP focused on. What I read to
you was actually just a synopsis coming off line. But
there are details in this AP story relating to exactly
what I was just talking about. So I'll present to
you a few more of the details regarding this this
thwarted terror plot, and then we'll get into President Donald
Trump sat down for a lengthy interview with sixteen minutes.

(07:04):
We have some clips to share and we'll do that
prior to our conversation with our DC correspondent Andrew Langer.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
Plus, I want to hear from you.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
Email me Justice at iHeartRadio dot com or if you're
listening on the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
He was a talkback.

Speaker 1 (07:17):
Those are brought to you by Lyndahl Realty here on
twins at his news Talk Am eleven thirty and one
oh three five FM. Good morning, and I love your show.
Keeps there's a slight moment of confusion. My finger touched

(07:38):
the mouse and ended up pausing everything, and then Brett
thought I did it intentionally, and we just stared at
each other for a moment in confusion.

Speaker 5 (07:46):
Well, normally if you do something like that, there's a
read you're going to play something.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
Or if I was like, well, what what's he up
to right now?

Speaker 7 (07:52):
Nope.

Speaker 1 (07:53):
On occasion, I get too clever. I try to get
too clever, and that time, I honestly it wasn't so.
Twin Cities News Talk Am thirty and one oh three
five FM, glad you're at the show this morning broadcasting
from the six to five to one carpet next Day
Install Studios. We'll get to your talkbacks here. Several of
them have rolled in already in just a moment. I
do want to go back to this AP story. Michigan

(08:16):
defense lawyer is disputing the FBI director Cash Betel's allegations
that his twenty year old client and four other young
suspects were planning to carry out a terror attack on Halloween. Well,
of course he's going to say that he is a
defense attorney, and yet the AP decided to lead with that,
announcing the arrests on Friday. Patel said that FBI in

(08:39):
Michigan authorities have offered few details beyond what I told
you a moment ago, and I'll share again here in
just a second about the case. Spokes versus for the
state and National FBI and the US attorney in the
Detroit have not immediately responded to messages on Saturday. What
we do know, though, is that the investigation involved a
discussion in an online chat room involving at least some

(09:00):
of the suspects who were taken into custody. According to
two people beriefed on the investigation. They spoke to the
AP on a condition of anonymity, and again allegedly the
conversation was about carrying out an attack around Halloween, referring
to it as Pumpkin Day. According to the people, the
other person briefed on the investigation confirmed there had been

(09:21):
a pumpkin reference. However, lawyer Emir Matlid, who represents a
man from the suburb of Dearborn, Michigan, who was still
detained on Saturday, said federal authorities having given him any
details about the investigation, but after reviewing the matter, he
concluded that no terror event was planned.

Speaker 2 (09:41):
Well, of course he did. He went on to say, if.

Speaker 1 (09:44):
These young men were on forums that they should not
have been on, or things of that nature, then we'll
have to wait and see. But I don't believe that
there's anything illegal about any of the activity they were doing.
Authorities said Friday, after the arrests were made that there
was no further threat to the public. Ptel announced in

(10:06):
a post on x the FBI thwarted a potential terrorist attack,
arrested multiple subjects who were allegedly applauding a violent attack
over the Halloween weekend. Investigators alleged the plan was inspired
by the Islamic State extremism. It wasn't immediately clear if
they had the means to carry out the attack, but
the reference to Halloween prompted the FBI to make the arrests,

(10:27):
said one individual. And again, according to some of the details,
there were weapons that were found relating to these particular individuals.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
So with that being said, we'll certainly keep an eye
on this.

Speaker 1 (10:40):
Not getting a lot of coverage over the weekend, though
I know we had an AP story here, but that
was just regarding the initial release of the information that
came out over the weekend. All right, let's get to
some of your thoughts this morning on a Monday morning
here on Twin Cities News Talking or iHeartRadio app Talkbacks,
brought to you by Lyndall Realty.

Speaker 7 (11:00):
Hey John Breda Cottage Grove.

Speaker 8 (11:01):
So, I've been traveling through the social media world calling
out Democrats on the lies and crap that they've been spewing.
They have no comeback, but it's great when I come
across the friend of the show and see stuff like
man Baby Mom Jeans Mayor Frey posts it right to
his account. Tell me listen to John Justice without telling me.
You listen to John Justice, love it, have a great day.

Speaker 1 (11:26):
I've seen that rolling around a few places. It's kind
of taken on a life of its own, and I,
for one, I'm very happy about that. Even if people
don't realize where it started from.

Speaker 2 (11:36):
I know, and that's what truly matters.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
Muslim extremists pot to cause a mass.

Speaker 9 (11:44):
Cosby event on Halloween.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
Yeah, that's not a story. Twelve people, including seven of
them being FBI informants, But to potentially kidnap the governor. Oh,
that's the worst thing in the world.

Speaker 7 (12:00):
You seriously don't hate the media.

Speaker 1 (12:03):
At Oh wait until we get later on into the
show and we get to the Southern Arizona math teacher
bloody T shirt controversy, and you hear the headline coming
from news from Newsweek regarding Governor DeSantis and his response
to the story that went viral over the weekend. We'll
get to that coming up after our conversation with Andrew Langer,

(12:26):
the president of the Institute for Liberty in about ten
minutes from now.

Speaker 10 (12:31):
Good Morning, John Barring andover kind of a last word
on Daylight Savings, was I literally the only person last night,
who felt like I should be in bed by six pm.
And then as I'm looking at my ceiling clock at
four thirty wondering if the Good Lord wanted me up
this early, he'd issued me a rooster or maybe a

(12:53):
talk show host, have a great day.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
I didn't.

Speaker 1 (12:56):
I had no negative impacts off of the clock's falling back.
I mean, apart from getting the extra hour on Saturday night,
I stayed up later than I should have or that
I typically do on Saturday to sort of offset that.
But I didn't like even last night, I had completely
forgotten it. Now you went out, So did you have
where you tired it all from?

Speaker 5 (13:15):
I mean, that's my natural state. But when I was
working Sunday morning, I didn't change my analog. I literally
have an analog one, so I have to physically get
up from bed and turn it off. Sure, I didn't
reset that one. So I was ready to roll Sunday
morning to go into work, and I was like, oh,
I've got another hour to sit here and put on
my thumb.

Speaker 3 (13:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (13:35):
I was surprised the controversy around daylight saving wasn't nearly
as vocal or loud as it was in previous years.
I did see a couple of stories just from overnight.
It'll probably come back up again when we go to
bring just bring forward. So all right, let's go here
I played. Let me play this clip again. This was
Ted Cruise on Fox News from over the weekend regarding

(13:58):
the shutdown. As we're now in two month or two
of the shutdown, SATA before you go, will.

Speaker 2 (14:03):
The government open this upcoming week?

Speaker 3 (14:04):
This is getting.

Speaker 4 (14:05):
Seriously impacting the US economy.

Speaker 7 (14:08):
What's your take?

Speaker 6 (14:10):
I think it's likely to open Wednesday or Thursday of
this week. The Democrats will wait until after election day
because they think a shutdown is good for energizing the
crazies in their party. But I think it'll be either
late this week or early next week.

Speaker 1 (14:23):
Now, I made a similar comment to sort of expectations
looking at the possibility of when the government was going
to open back up again. This is the Democrats keeping
the government closed. There is no other way to spin it.
Even the legacy media is making sure that when they
talk to Democrats they're correcting them, trying to go and
throw the blame on Republicans. But if there are electoral

(14:47):
victories tomorrow for Democrats and they do attribute this to
the shutdown. I don't know, and I can't even begin
to speculate whether or not they will continue to keep
the government shut down. If they feel like that they're
benefiting from it, why would they go and open it up.
President Donald Trump did an interview with sixty Minutes from

(15:11):
over the weekend, talked about the shutdown in a couple
of different ways. First off, this was Trump on discussing
nuking the filibuster, of which I completely disagree with.

Speaker 3 (15:20):
Said, I know John.

Speaker 11 (15:21):
Doesn't well, John and a few other but you know what,
the Republicans have to get tougher.

Speaker 3 (15:27):
If we end the filibuster, we can do exactly what
we want. We're not going to lose power.

Speaker 12 (15:31):
The theory is, oh, then we'll do it, but then
when they get into power, someday they'll doude.

Speaker 3 (15:36):
That's true. But you know what, So you think, Joe,
you're here right now.

Speaker 11 (15:39):
No.

Speaker 12 (15:39):
I like John Downe. I think it's terrific, But I
disagree with him on this point.

Speaker 3 (15:43):
He said today he wasn't going.

Speaker 4 (15:44):
To do it.

Speaker 3 (15:45):
Well, that's too bad.

Speaker 2 (15:48):
Yeah, so far the shutdown hasn't.

Speaker 1 (15:50):
I disagree with with Trump on on the filibuster and
the idea that, like I get it from Trump's perspective.
I think Trump is looking at it right now from
his time in all office. It's his second term. He's
not running again. He will be leaving the White House,
despite what Democrats say, and he wants to go and
see things get done. And therefore the way to get

(16:12):
things done would be to go and get rid of
the filibuster. But eventually, at some point in the future
Democrats will regain power.

Speaker 2 (16:20):
Hopefully it doesn't happen for a long time.

Speaker 1 (16:23):
Further polling data shows that their party right now is
in shambles according to the voters and those.

Speaker 2 (16:29):
On the you know, on the left.

Speaker 1 (16:32):
So having this thought that, well, we'll nuke the filibuster
now to move forward and get the government back open,
and then hope and pray that Democrats don't get into
power and abuse the fact that the filibuster doesn't exist anymore. No,
I'm not willing to go in and make that mistake.
One more quick comment on this. We'll have more audio
from President Donald Trump to share in just a moment,

(16:53):
but currently right now online the Democrat criticism against the
GOP regarding the shutdown is and I've seen this on
multiple videos from over the weekend. It's Democrats. It's the
left saying, if you're celebrating people losing your food stamps,
then your you know, insert whatever level of horrible label

(17:15):
you wish, you know, you're an awful person, you're an
evil person, you name it. But Democrats are only using
that narrative because one, it's a gaslight. It further exposes that,
this exposes this is what the left does. By example,
it's the left that celebrates assassinations. It's the left that

(17:36):
celebrates the downtrodden if they're not aligned with Democrats. I
haven't seen any Republican whatsoever celebrating people losing their Snap benefits,
people that have been pointing out unhealthy individuals and common
jeries from individuals losing their Snap benefits. But that is
a far cry from saying, Haha, you're losing your Snap benefits.

(17:57):
Republicans just simply aren't doing that. But Democrat r that's
er claiming Republicans are, because that's what Democrats do. DC
correspondents regulatory guru and also works with SAPAC President the
Institute for Liberty Long Resume. Andrew Langer joins us next
here on Twin City's news Talk a'm eleven thirty and
one on three five FM.

Speaker 11 (18:19):
The problem is they want to give money to prisoners,
to drug dealers, to all these millions of people that
were allowed to come in with an open border from Biden.

Speaker 3 (18:30):
And nobody can do that. Just one Republican would ever
do that.

Speaker 4 (18:34):
My understanding is if those healthcare subsidies are not extended,
premiums will double for many of the people that are
on it.

Speaker 2 (18:41):
I was looking into it.

Speaker 4 (18:42):
Three quarters of these people will see their healthcare premiums double.

Speaker 3 (18:46):
Live in states where you won in the last election.

Speaker 4 (18:49):
I mean even here in Florida has the highest number
of residents on Obamacare in the country.

Speaker 3 (18:55):
And I'm sure you can fix it.

Speaker 11 (18:56):
Nora.

Speaker 4 (18:57):
You have helped end these government shutdowns in the past
when they came about, and you did it by bringing very.

Speaker 3 (19:02):
Good at it. But I'm not going to do it
by I'm not going to do it by extortion.

Speaker 12 (19:06):
I'm not going to do it by being extorted by
the Democrats who have lost their way.

Speaker 3 (19:10):
There's something wrong with these people.

Speaker 2 (19:12):
What happens is the best.

Speaker 12 (19:14):
Case Schumer is a basket case and he has nothing
to lose. He's become I just left Japan. He's become
a become a Kazi pilot.

Speaker 3 (19:23):
Sounds like it's not going to get solved. The shutdown.
It's going to get Sofia. Oh, it's going to get
so we'll get a sub Eventually, they're going to have
to vote.

Speaker 4 (19:30):
You're saying the Democrats will capitulate.

Speaker 3 (19:32):
I think they have to and if they don't vote,
that's their problem.

Speaker 2 (19:35):
Now I happen to.

Speaker 3 (19:36):
Agree to something else. I think we should do the
nuclear option.

Speaker 1 (19:39):
This is a totally different We'll get to a talk
back regarding that in just a moment. Twin Cities News
Talk a eleven thirty one oh three five FM first
show for November broadcasting from the six five to one
carpet Next Day Installs studios. My name is John Justice,
and we are once again joined and the president of
the Institute for Liberties Sea Pack Regulatory Guru Andrew Langer.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
Come on, and Andrew, are we doing this morning?

Speaker 7 (20:04):
I'm doing fine, man. How are you doing?

Speaker 2 (20:06):
I'm all right. How do you feel about nuking the filibuster?

Speaker 7 (20:10):
I think that nuking the filibuster would be a mistake. Listen,
this is one of those things where I you know,
I always come back to what's gonna what's gonna come
around and bite us on the posterior down the road.
It's part of you know how I take my you
know how, what what I'm what I'm arguing for in
the various regulatory comments that I'm filing. Uh, let's not
do something that's gonna come back and bite us in

(20:32):
the butt down the road. As Tom Burrelly pointed out,
I did news Max yesterday and as a humble bragg
there John by the way, nice, Uh, Tom Barelli did.
Tom Burley was on the panel with me. Actually this
is not when I was on the panel, and he
was right. It's like, you know, it's one of those
things where if we knuke it for this, the Democrats
will wind up, you know, coming back and nuking it

(20:53):
for expanding the Supreme Court or something else. That's anathem
and everything we even and we just we just can't
give them that opportunity. This is what they want.

Speaker 2 (21:04):
Yeah, it's gonna be bad enough.

Speaker 1 (21:05):
You know, when Democrats do regain some power, it's going
to happen at some point in the in the future.

Speaker 10 (21:11):
I know.

Speaker 1 (21:11):
Right now they're damaged, but pee that as it may,
we still are a pretty even split country. And I'm
one hundred percent with you. Let's not let's not give
them anything that they can go and really irrationally use
against us. I know where Trump's coming from. I mean,
as I mentioned a moment ago, Andrew, he he's in
his second term. He's not going to run for reelection.
He wants to see this get to get done. But no,

(21:33):
I'm I'm I'm with you. I'm thinking long terms, this
would be a bad, bad idea, right, And let's.

Speaker 7 (21:37):
Let's keep in mind, right at the end of the day,
the election is tomorrow. Now there are two schools of
thought that this thing is going to continue at infinite
in the shutdown, but there's also the rumors that you know,
and I think this makes a lot of sense. Then again,
I say, this makes a lot of sense, And as
I said, I realize, of course nothing makes sense anymore.
But uh, you know, the election is tomorrow, and themocrats

(22:00):
have been really trying to use this shutdown as a cudgel,
especially in Virginia, but in both Virginia and in New Jersey,
you know, and hammering on the issue of snap benefits
and hammering on the issue of medicare, hammering on the
issue of Obamacare premiums, and of course we all know
that this, this was the feature, This is not the

(22:23):
flaw in Obamacare. This is what Obamacare was meant to do.
And obviously ignoring their culpability and all of this, but
the bottom line is, once the elections happen and the
chips fall where they may in Virginia, New Jersey, it
makes a lot of sense that that Democrats would come
back to the table and reopen things.

Speaker 1 (22:41):
What are your well, okay, but before I get I
would you want to get some sort of your predictions
of the outcome of some of these some of these elections.
But I wonder with what you just said. I played
a clip from Ted Cruz he was on Maria Bartiromo
and Fox News saying that he was under the impression that,
you know, the Democrats were waiting until after for the
elections tomorrow, and I said something similar last week.

Speaker 2 (23:03):
It was a pretty common take on it.

Speaker 1 (23:06):
That being said, if Democrats do end up, you know,
having some victories that they can tout and they feel
as if the shutdown and the narratives that they've created
are benefiting them, I don't know if they have much
motivation to go and open.

Speaker 2 (23:23):
Things back up.

Speaker 1 (23:23):
I mean, I feel like we've I feel like we've
been at this spot before over other instances when we
thought the Democrats would go and vote with Republicans and
they haven't. So I'm just wondering if this will really
be the moment or if they'll decide let's keep it
shut down and see how much we can benefit off
of people's angst.

Speaker 7 (23:40):
Yeah, but I think at the end of the day, right,
here's what's going to happen the Democrats. Here's a funny thing, John,
So you know, understanding the way that these midterm elections
normally work, right, it would augur well for the Democrats.
The Democrats should be winning these elections in a cake walk,
but because of a lot of different reasons, they're not,

(24:02):
and so they can blunt things. The reason why the
Democrats are are not is some of that has to
do with with the economy, some of it has to
do with the polling numbers that we've seen about working
class Americans not trusting the Democrats, independence, not trusting the
Democrats to do right. And so you know, this is

(24:22):
at the end of the day, we have had a
shutdown where yeah, there have been problems. You know, people
are are certainly hurting. There are real people who are
hurting out there, but we haven't had disaster yet, right
and and so you know, the more for instance, we
we we don't fix the air traffic controller problem, the
more risk we are at some major disaster actually happening.

(24:46):
And the Democrats they don't want that. What the Democrats
don't want is for things to go so out of
control that by the time they get to the midterm
elections next year, they're going to get blamed for it.
And again, in an era in which they should be
in the camp bird seat, they want to make sure
that they can that they can maintain that. So that

(25:08):
to me augurs that they are not going to let
this thing go. But again, this is the silly season.
You know, we're about to elect an anti Semitic socialist
mayor in New York. So you know that's you know
who who Who am I to say this thing?

Speaker 11 (25:21):
So is that? So?

Speaker 1 (25:22):
What is your prediction on some of these I know
I saw a tightening of polls in New York City.
I don't know how much stock to put into the
polling data just across the board right now.

Speaker 2 (25:34):
I suppose we'll all find out soon enough. But what
is what are some of them? You know, what are
some of your thoughts on the way that these elections
are going to go down?

Speaker 7 (25:40):
I suspect that the only real, the only real miracle
is going to be in New Jersey if Chitdarelli winds
up pulling it out there the Republican there, and there
are some opportunities for that to happen. I think that,
you know, history and and just sort of the general
electoral politics August for the Democrat Abigail Spanberger to win

(26:04):
in Virginia. Of course, the wild car there is you know,
the fact that she's got these not just one, but
two drags on the ticket. Abigail Spaanberger, does you know
you got this situation with the attorney general candidate now
possibly under criminal investigation, and you know, just so many
Democrat voters and we will see some not necessarily tickets

(26:27):
splitting in Virginia, but you will see a lot of
under voting, you know, folks who will not vote for
j Jones or hatch Me, the Lieutenant governor candidate, and
then still voting for Spamberger but the question is how
much of a blunting do these two candidates. And when
I say that lieutenant governor candidate, this hatched me. She's

(26:49):
a state senator, she's radical. She's just tried to sort
of stay under the radar, and that hasn't done Spaanberger
any favors. But I think the odds are still largely
in her favor. And Mom, Donnie, I mean right, I mean,
you know, if Mail Bloomberg had spent you know, his
millions to try to get Cuomo elected, you know, weeks ago,

(27:10):
maybe he could have had an effect, But you know,
dumping money into the election at the last minute is
too little, too late. I think.

Speaker 2 (27:16):
Well, and Sleeve was staying in you know, didn't help.

Speaker 1 (27:19):
Didn't help either, Although I wonder if this comment really
quick here talking with Andrew Langer from President Donald Trump
may helps way things.

Speaker 4 (27:25):
Zorhan Mandani thirty four year old Democratic socialist.

Speaker 3 (27:28):
He's the communist, non socialist communist.

Speaker 4 (27:31):
He's far worse than some people have compared him to
a left wing version of you, charismatic breaking the old rules.

Speaker 3 (27:38):
What do you think about that? Well, I think I'm
a much better looking person than him.

Speaker 2 (27:45):
He's so entertaining man, I don't care. I don't care.
I don't care why anybody feels about him.

Speaker 7 (27:50):
By the way, also, by the way, you know, Gavin
noose Of tried to compare Donald Trump to Joe Biden.
I mean that is Joe Biden wishes on his best day,
even when he was cognizant, Joe Biden, that he had
a moment like that.

Speaker 1 (28:04):
We'll be talking about our our own mayoral race in
Minneapolis later on in the in the show, we have
our own version of Mom Donnie with Omar Fote.

Speaker 2 (28:13):
Although I will say.

Speaker 7 (28:14):
And I'm turning the tables on you for a second,
what is the what is the boy mayor going to
do after after he leaves.

Speaker 1 (28:20):
Office Minneapolis mambyby may or Mom jeans, yeah, that I
don't know. Although well, the point I wanted to point
out was that most most individuals are saying that they
expect Jacob Fry to win re election. I know that
Omar I know that Omar Fate is getting a lot
of attention. He certainly is according the Muslim community, but

(28:42):
it is not as large as everybody thinks in in
in Minneapolis, and so most of the commentary swirling now
with rank choice voting. You and I both know, you know,
I mean, anything is as possible, but a lot of
money has gone into keeping Jacob Fry as the as
the mayor lesser of two evils, and so well.

Speaker 7 (29:03):
Roster of two evils. Well, listen to I wish him,
you know, my fellow William and Mary alumnus, I wish
him godspeed and hark upon the gale and his in
his re election effort.

Speaker 2 (29:12):
Well, as you know, and as people said, it's one
or two things.

Speaker 1 (29:15):
If you you know, want to see the status quo
and things continue to deteriorate but at a slower rate
in Minneapolis, you vote for Jacob Fry. If you want
to send a message to voters and have everything collapse
to hopefully wake everything up, you know, wake everybody up,
then you rank Omar Fonte is number one. I mean,
I have to look at it that way, but that's
the reality that the you know, the Minneapolis voters are

(29:35):
faced with right now.

Speaker 7 (29:36):
It is well listen, I do not do not envy
all of you, but this guy gets into the real
concern I have with the Mandami race. Right, Mamdani wins,
and this emboldens the Democratic Socialists of America who will
start running more candidates nationwide. And this is this is
not me playing the conspiracy theory, right, this is this
is this is fact. Remember that guy there was a

(29:59):
two with a conspiracy fact thing. Oh yeah, so I
will never forget Stephen Kruzer and I standing in front
of him and getting our pictures and yes, nice, nice
call back there. So you know, the the real issue
is that, you know, Nikita Krushchev, in his speech to
the UN in the early nineteen sixties said, uh promised

(30:23):
that he would be that the Soviet Union would be
at our funeral. Right, that's what he's He didn't say
we will bury you. He said we will be at
your funeral. And what he meant was that they were
going to go all out to use whatever they could
to undermine the traditional Western republican democracy that we have.
And and this is the end result of sixty seventy

(30:45):
years of that almost seventy years of that of of
this kind of you know, stalwart effort to undermine us. Also,
by the way, doubled down by the Chinese and the CCP. Right,
you know, so when we talk about so many of
these divisions in America, and the fundamental tearing of the
fabric of who we are as a people. You know,

(31:05):
the folks who want to turn us against each other.
These are outside influences, and this is so much of
this is by design. So what we are seeing with
the Mom Donnie race in New York and the normalization
of democratic socialists or as Donald Trump calls them, communist right,
because remember that socialism is the transitional stage between the
capitalism and communism. This is, you know, this is the

(31:28):
end result of many, many years of folks working to
make this happen.

Speaker 1 (31:32):
Let's go here in our time remaining because I think
it fits. It fits nicely with what you were just
talking about. The Republican Jewish Coalition Leadership as summit taking
place over the weekend. Republican Jews at the event acknowledged
anti Sebentism is cropping up in their movement during the conference,
but they were quick to blame left leaning Democrats for

(31:53):
going and fanning the flames, working off of a story
here from Politico.

Speaker 2 (31:57):
Amandrew, I'll be honest.

Speaker 1 (31:58):
I saw a bit of this over the weekend, didn't
spend a lot of time on and I know you
wanted to make a couple of points though, regarding what
I just mentioned.

Speaker 7 (32:06):
Well, listen, I I you know, at the end of
the day, you know, I think Kevin Roberts and Heritage babbled,
babbled the statements he had came out with a strong
statement at the you know, afterwards condemning you know, both
Tucker and Nick Fuentes. But you know, the issue here
is this, this idea that there is some kind of

(32:27):
fundamental anti Semitism problem on the right is overblown.

Speaker 6 (32:30):
Now.

Speaker 7 (32:30):
The fact that there are anti Semits on the right,
and maybe that movement is growing, that is a problem.
But I think so much of this has to do
with again the folks who are trying to turn us
against each other, who are trying to foment this. I
think if the if the cash fatal Justice Department went
out there and started investigating, you know, what is behind

(32:52):
the rise of anti Semitism, at least, you know, the
the attempts to infiltrate you know, the right with anti Semotism.
They're going to find that it's coming from Russia, and
they're going to find that it's coming from China, and
it's coming from folks who want to again undermine who
we are as a people.

Speaker 2 (33:09):
Andrew Langer, as always, thank you for the time this morning.

Speaker 1 (33:12):
Anything you got going on you would like the listener
to go and check out listen.

Speaker 7 (33:16):
Got some really great interviews this week with the lunch Shower.
I sat down with Matt Petty and Caesar Biaz from
the Reason Foundation to talk about what's going on with
the interdiction of boats, interdiction, the blowing up we've done
blown up boats coming out of Venezuela. And it's actually
a very nuanced, thoughtful conversation with the guys from Reason

(33:39):
about what this means and where we're going and very
very important to check out. But as always, you know,
follow me on x at Andrew Underscore Langer.

Speaker 2 (33:48):
Thanks buddy, we'll talk to you again next week. Have
a great one, Doctor Letterman.

Speaker 1 (33:52):
All right, let's go back to the ihearta Radio app
here on Twin City's News Talk, brought to you by
Lyndahl our realty.

Speaker 9 (33:58):
Ay quick programming. Note the bloody math teacher picture that
you talked about that's been debunked. They have done that
in previous years and you can actually see the costume online.
It is math relates so has absolutely nothing to do
with Saint Charlie Kirk. So please don't go down the

(34:20):
rabbit hole. Don't embarrass yourself.

Speaker 3 (34:22):
Thanks.

Speaker 1 (34:22):
First off, I will go down whatever rabbit hole I
wish to go down, and if I want to embarrass myself,
I'll embarrass myself. I just want to say that upfront, Eric,
it hasn't been debunked, and this is why I'm bringing
it up. So for those that aren't familiar. Over the weekend,
photographs emerged of the Vale School District. Veil is in

(34:44):
southern Arizona. It's just outside Tucson. I call it Tucson.
If you're not from the area, it's Tucson, but it's
just outside of Tucson. Really nice area. If you move
to southern Arizona and Tucson and you have kids, typically
you would want them to go and.

Speaker 2 (35:00):
Live in Vail.

Speaker 1 (35:02):
It's a really nice area of southern Arizona. The school
district is top notch. At least that's what I thought,
having broadcasted there my show for nine years. But these
photographs emerged of these math teachers. They're all wearing white
T shirts as say problem solves, and every single one
of them has this blood spatter soaked on the left

(35:27):
hand side, and all of them are done differently. And
the photo emerged along with a host of other photos
on the Vale School District's Facebook page for Halloween. And
as I mentioned at the start of the show, unless
you've been living on a remote island without internet access
or competing on Survivor, you look at that photograph and

(35:47):
the first thing that you are going to think of,
knowing of the assassination of Charlie Kirk and what happened,
is that they're marketing Charlie Kirk. And this caused a
massive uproar over the weekend, with people rightfully so calling
into question why they go and wear these photographs now. Subsequently,
the first excuse that was given by the Vale School
District was that, well, they wore these shirts last year.

Speaker 2 (36:08):
These are old shirts. Okay.

Speaker 1 (36:11):
There was a photograph that emerged in the wake of
the story going viral over the weekend that appeared to
show these math teachers in a classroom wearing these shirts
from last year. However, that particular photograph is filled with
all kinds of AI artifacts. There's a woman missing a leg,
there's another individual whose face is all smeared. I mean,

(36:33):
you just you look at the photograph and go, yeah,
I'm not buying any of that, And we'll go down
this road here in a moment. Because there are other
questions that have emerged with all of this as well.
The story has gone viral, I would expect that we'll
get some further clarification. I too also saw allegedly some
photographs of other teachers wearing these particular shirts from the

(36:55):
year before.

Speaker 2 (36:57):
Newsweek. The way that they covered it just made me lie.

Speaker 1 (37:00):
This morning, Ron DeSantis amplifies false claim about Math teachers
Halloween costumes, except for the fact that there still is
a massive question and a couple of questions relating to
this particular story. So, first off, nobody has offered a
coherent explanation as to what the reference was to bloody

(37:21):
T shirts saying problem solved. Like I fully believe that
those shirts had been made before white T shirts with
problem solved. That makes sense for Math, But I haven't
seen a single explanation as to what them being all
bloodied up has to do with Halloween you or.

Speaker 2 (37:37):
The rationale behind that.

Speaker 1 (37:39):
And again, I don't doubt the T shirts previously existed,
but people are curious as to the original intent.

Speaker 2 (37:47):
If the shirts did exist prior.

Speaker 1 (37:49):
Again, you'd have to be completely out of touch with
what happened to Charlie Kirk to not look at that
photograph and immediately think, oh my gosh, that is a
handful of men features that are mocking the death of
Charlie Kirk. The AI picture confuses the matter. The story
is absolutely gone viral. But here's the other question that

(38:10):
I have with all this. And if you haven't seen
the photo, I posted it up on my ex account
and we'll talk about the assassination culture in general coming
up on the show. I have other examples coming out
of Halloween two to share with you. But here's the
other issue that I have. Is it how is it
that not a single not a one of those math teachers,

(38:33):
or the person taking the photograph, or the people that
saw the photo that was posted online on this Vale
School District website thought for just a moment, hey, probably
shouldn't wear those shirts. People might think you're mocking the
death of Charlie Kirk. Not a single adult said, hey,

(38:54):
you might want to think better of that. When every
single person that knows of the assassination of Charlie Kirk
and as being rational, saw those photographs and immediately thought
that's what they were mocking. We'll give you further details
on this coming up. Liberal host viciously mocks Charlie Kirk's
widow immediately got dragged online. That's good news. Plus, we

(39:16):
we'll get into House Speaker Lisa damonth announcing her campaign
to run for Minnesota governor, and your comments from the
iHeartRadio app coming up on Twinnesday's News Talk AM eleven
thirty and one oh three five FM

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
