Speaker 1 (00:14):
Pour two Twin Cities news Talk AM eleven thirty and
one oh three five FM. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis shared
a viral social media post claiming that Arizona teachers were
glorifying murder with Halloween costumes, allegedly referencing conservative activist Charlie
Kirk's death. School officials say the costumes were math themed,
(00:36):
predated the incident, and had no connection to any political
feature figure. So I saw the photographs online. We'll get
into more of this in just a moment. Apparently these
t shirts are available. I still don't know what the
reference is as to what this has to do with
math at all, and it still doesn't take away the
fact that these teachers on.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
This Halloween in the wake of one of.
Speaker 1 (00:59):
The the biggest news stories of the year, if not
the biggest news story of the year, not a single
adult who saw the individuals wearing this shirt thought for
just a second, maybe it's inappropriate for you guys.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
To go and wear these shirts.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
Kirk, of course, co founder of Turning Point USA, shot
dead in September speaking on a campus event in Utah.
The viral video shows, or excuse me, the rival viral
photo shows the teachers wearing the white T shirts splattered
with fake blood and the words problem solved. A design
the local school district says is a reoccurring math theme
costume unrelated to any individual. It's been really disturbing to
(01:42):
see teachers across this country glorifying a murder just because
they disagreed with the victim, DeSantis wrote in an ex post,
And there were dozens of photographs over the weekend of
individuals who went out on Halloween with white T shirts
blood so on the left hand side of the shirt.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
Most of them had the freedom.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
Logo on the front the shirt that Charlie Kirk was wearing,
clearly and specifically mocking the death of Charlie Kirk. In
a follow up post, the governor wrote, here's the explanation
from the school district. Some have cast doubt on this explanation,
but people can read it and decide for them. Cells
a turning point. USA spokesperson initially criticized the teachers, saying
(02:26):
their costumes appeared to mock the death of Kirk, but
he partially retracted those remarks after it was revealed the
costumes had been worn in previous years before Kirk's death.
The superintendent issued a statement confirming the image originates from
Sienega High School's math department. The school pushed back on
the claim that their reference was to that of Charlie Kirk.
(02:48):
The shirts were worn in reference to solving math problems,
and he referenced to the shirts relating to something other
than that were false and true.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
So maybe there needs to be a reframing of.
Speaker 1 (02:59):
The shirts that because it seems as if the stance
the district is taking in the midst of this viral
controversy is these shirts were related to something else. These
shirts weren't specifically about Charlie Kirk. Okay, fine, we'll go
down that route. Let's say for the sake of argument,
these shirts were available, they were worn the year prior. Again,
how does anybody in their right mind decide that you're
(03:23):
going to wear these shirts a second time.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
Oh and there's also this little issue a.
Speaker 3 (03:28):
Morning John and the little wrinkle on the bail teachers
is they have a picture of these people and their
costumes from last year. They're all dressed up like senior citizens.
So now we're being told they these were costumes from
last year. Well, did they run two sets of costumes?
(03:51):
Last year and then decided, well, no, we're just going
to take the one and redo it this year.
Speaker 4 (04:01):
Oh Phil or Eric or whoever the heck you are.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
You fell for the AI.
Speaker 5 (04:09):
Telling John not to go down the rabbit hole when
you're the one that fell for the AI photo. Also
quit trying to copy us. Dude, Saint Charlie Kirk, you
disrespect Saint George Floyd like that.
Speaker 6 (04:25):
Good morning everybody, Happy Monday's chat from Delano.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
Yeah, those math.
Speaker 6 (04:31):
Teachers, for being supposedly smart people, they would you would
think that common sense, which no Democrat has, would say, hey,
this year, it's probably not appropriate to our T shirts
like this. But yeah, no common sense.
Speaker 7 (04:50):
They think they're funny and it's too bad.
Speaker 8 (04:56):
Hey, John, I get the look I get with Charlie Kirk,
especially Arizona all the things.
Speaker 9 (05:01):
It looks awful.
Speaker 10 (05:02):
However, that is a shirt you can buy on Amazon.
Speaker 8 (05:04):
I saw a local woman, a friend of a friend,
wear it this weekend, and her husband had a shirt
on a kind of not matched it, but like show
that it was like a couple of costumes.
Speaker 10 (05:17):
So it's available for sale. I get the ill.
Speaker 8 (05:21):
The look of it is awful.
Speaker 1 (05:23):
Well, and what's interesting about it too, is that I
did a search online and you can find that T
shirt available to go and purchase on various websites. But
these are completely separate from school, these shirts being available. Okay,
so first off, I think there's a bit of a
question surrounding the motivation of the shirts in and of themselves.
(05:44):
I'm not saying directly related to Charlie Kirk, but what
the shirts are supposed.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
To be implying. Be that as it may.
Speaker 1 (05:51):
I am still very much of the opinion that these
teachers knew exactly what.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
They were doing donning these shirts again, and.
Speaker 1 (05:57):
Given the fact that the shirts already existed, may have
assumed that they would go and get away with it,
knowing that they had existed before. The story has absolutely
gone viral, and as I mentioned, I imagine that we
will get some clarity now that we're out of the weekend,
(06:18):
and in my opinion, there needs to be clarity because
there are good societal teachable moments that could be made.
Regardless of your opinion on the matter. Ultimately, where I
come down is if this was a simple misunderstanding, boy,
that is a stretch to say it was a misunderstanding,
(06:39):
because I do not understand how anybody, especially living in Arizona,
could possibly think on Halloween wearing that shirt again would
be appropriate in any way, shape or form. How could
you not expect that people would I wouldn't immediately see
that and think, what are you doing?
Speaker 2 (07:00):
I mean, that's what I thought. That's what most I mean.
This is why the story's gone viral.
Speaker 1 (07:08):
And at a time when you have liberal hosts like
Kyle Kolinsky mocking Erica Kirk, framing Erica, the mother of
two young children, as a money hungry widow who was
only pretending to miss her murdered husband for profit, you
have Julie Fox facing This is an actress uncut gems
(07:31):
if you're familiar with it anyway. She's a fairly well
known actress facing backlash over her controversial Halloween costume where
she was dressed ass Jackie Oh in a blood splattered.
Speaker 2 (07:49):
Dress.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
She was photographed wearing the recognizable pink suit and pillbox
hat that JFK's wife, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis war on the
day that he was assassinated. The outfit was splattered with
blood meant to represent the assassination. So everybody involved in
what happened was just that clueless. Regarding the Erica Kirk situation, Kalinski,
(08:17):
who was married to liberal host Crystal Ball, posted the
fake image of a Halloween costume which features a crying
Erica with running mascara holding a plate of money. The
costume is called fake Grieving Widow Grifter includes accessories such
as fake teardrops, skin tight black leather mourning pants. Conservative
(08:38):
Will Chamberlain responded to the post as saying, they hate you,
they want you dead, and will mock your wife if
one of their crazies assassinates you.
Speaker 2 (08:48):
Make no mistake.
Speaker 1 (08:49):
Though Charlie and his message were so powerful, is still
powerful that even in his death, the leftists have to
find ways to undermine him and his legacy. Listen, may
Kyle's wife Crystal Ball, love him, mourn him, and honor
his memory were he to have to go and face
(09:10):
his maker. Other posts is showing Erica Kirk and giving
JD Vans a hug and then accusing them of sleeping together,
or suggesting that JD would leave his wife and family
for Erica. Listen at last point on this we'll get
some more of your talk by its coming up in
(09:31):
just a moment here on Twinsday's News Talk, but more
concise terminology.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
It's just jealousy. It's absolute jealousy.
Speaker 1 (09:40):
Charlie Kirk was a powerful figure and he was assassinated
for it, and yet people still feel that it's appropriate
to go and mock his widow. The numerous photos of
individuals no controversy involved. I've posted these on my ex
page as well, dressing up like Charlie Kirk being assassinated,
and then the controversy out of vel school district as well,
(10:01):
and we'll see how all of this shakes out.
Speaker 2 (10:05):
We'll get to your talkbacks.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
From the iHeartRadio app coming up in just a moment.
Also House Speaker Lisa damonth announcing her campaign to run
for Minnesota governor. Already shots are fired on both left
and right sides of the political spectrum relating to her announcement.
Speaker 2 (10:19):
We'll get to all of.
Speaker 1 (10:20):
It coming up on Twin City's News Talk Am eleven
thirty and one oh three five FM. The talkbacks on
the iHeartRadio appage Spicy on a Monday morning from the
sixty five to one Carpet Next Day Install Studios. John
(10:41):
Justice here on Twin City's News talk Am eleven thirty
one oh three five FM viral social media post claiming
that Arizona teachers were glorifying murder with Halloween costumes, allegedly
referencing conservative activist Charlie Kirk's death. The viral photo shows
teachers wearing white T shirts splattered pi fake blood and
the words problem solved. A design the local school district
(11:04):
says is a reoccurring math themed costume unrelated to any individual.
Speaker 2 (11:08):
And that might be true.
Speaker 1 (11:11):
Looking at the availability of these shirts online, apparently you
can purchase them. I still have not seen a rational
explanation as to what the shirt is supposed to be
conveying relating to math. There's an argument to be made
that shirt does exist outside of school altogether and is
actually meant to go and glorify assassinations in general.
Speaker 2 (11:31):
Be that as it may.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
Where I've landed on this whole thing is, how is
it that not a single adult recognized that this would
be inappropriate and could potentially cause controversy, especially in this
school district, which is one of the best school districts
in the Tucson area of southern Arizona. Let's get back
(11:55):
to a few of your thoughts from the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 11 (11:58):
What does it beem available for sale have anything to
do with it being appropriate or not?
Speaker 3 (12:04):
Hereby it?
Speaker 11 (12:04):
Nazi uniform on Amazon too ory. I don't get what
it being for sale has anything to do with judgment.
Just because it's for sale doesn't mean it may be right.
Speaker 12 (12:21):
What I love about this teacher and controversy thing is
that when I was a teacher, we weren't allowed to
be offensive or even.
Speaker 13 (12:28):
Potentially inventive in any way.
Speaker 12 (12:30):
Whatsoever, to the extent that we weren't allowed to wear
black and orange during the Halloween season or were you
could say Happy Halloween. We weren't allowed to wear red
and green around Christmas or say very Christmas because it
might possibly have been somebody.
Speaker 1 (12:49):
Why in the world would any teacher, in any way,
shape or form, think wearing a bloody T shirt to school,
even on Halloween is appropriate. Given all of the conversations
regarding violence in our schools, what has transpired national news
(13:09):
stories of what has taken place here in Minnesota just
a few months ago raises a whole host of other questions.
Speaker 7 (13:19):
Yep, the optics were bad, and personally, I probably wouldn't
do it myself. But then again, I wouldn't say anything
to those people either, because I doubt they would care
what we would say. I know, I don't care what
they think about my fashion coy too, and anything negative
they have to say about me. I would just offer
them the opportunity to shove it where the sun don't
(13:40):
shine well, and I want to.
Speaker 1 (13:42):
I'm going to go off the first part of your
comment here, uh in just a moment, let's get back
to a few more of your of your thoughts though.
Speaker 2 (13:51):
Hey, good morning guys, John.
Speaker 14 (13:53):
What I'm surprised about is that you, guys are surprised
that these people have no sheep, that public school teachers
don't know what is appropriate and what isn't appropriate. What
is appropriate to them and their broken brains is whatever
makes them feel good in the moment. It's been that
way for quite some time. Nobody, and I mean nobody
(14:17):
should be surprised or.
Speaker 15 (14:18):
Shocked by that.
Speaker 1 (14:20):
May maybe always be surprised and shocked. I mean, heaven forbid,
we become accustomed to this. It's kind of my point again,
going back to having to endure the assassination culture trends
(14:42):
that we are living in right now, which is frightening
in and of itself. I was watching a video recently
Jason Pargin, he's an author, used to host on the
Crack podcast I listened two years ago, back when it
was relevant. He posted a video recently and he was
talking about a day that he was dreading and he says,
(15:05):
it'll be the most divisive online moment.
Speaker 2 (15:09):
In history when this person dies.
Speaker 1 (15:15):
And he immediately made his point, going the moment you
say this person, you know who he's referring to, because
you know one day that will happen. One day Trump
will die natural causes. Hope he lives along and continues
to live along in healthy life, but one day that
will happen. And he's right, It's going to be the
(15:35):
most divisive day online because of the commentary that will
thwirl around it. We already had a preview of that
over the two times that Trump was almost assassinated.
Speaker 2 (15:47):
We already see what happened in.
Speaker 1 (15:49):
The wake of Charlie Kirk and individuals going out on
Halloween dressed as Charlie Kirk being assassinated, and now this controversy.
I don't want to get to a point where this
stuff isn't surprising we're splitting hairs over the terminology.
Speaker 2 (16:03):
I understand what you're saying.
Speaker 1 (16:06):
I get that individuals will feel completely fine in doing this,
so that aspect of it doesn't surprise me.
Speaker 2 (16:15):
But I'm not, ever not going to point it out and.
Speaker 1 (16:20):
Say, as a society, we need.
Speaker 2 (16:22):
To act better. And that's what all of this is about.
In my opinion.
Speaker 1 (16:25):
This is why I said, you know, I hope that
we get to some sort of final explanation across the
board on this particular issue, because it will be a
teachable moment for everybody, people that are frustrated, people that
think that this is, you know, being blown out of proportion,
you know, Speaking of which, let's go here, Good morning, John.
Speaker 13 (16:48):
Are we those guys now who are going to get
offended every time we see a bloody shirt or somebody
making reference to their neck or their throat or something.
I mean, it's Halloween. People wear bloody, gory stuff all
the time on Halloween.
Speaker 11 (17:03):
You know.
Speaker 13 (17:03):
I saw the picture and I thought, oh, that's real
classy of them, and that's about it. I mean, that's
really where I should we scroll on.
Speaker 1 (17:11):
But again I disagree. I mean, you thought the same
thing when you saw it. You said, real classy of them.
I'm assuming you said that in reference to oh classy
as you thought as well they were mocking the death
of Charlie Kirk. But we have unfortunately stripped away the
societal norms in this country to the point where this
(17:33):
type of thing is potentially not becoming controversial anymore.
Speaker 2 (17:38):
Part of the reason I.
Speaker 1 (17:39):
Brought it up this morning is because I heard a
lot of commentary like that of individuals on the right
saying we're making too big of a deal about this,
and I just disagree, because you know what happens when
we don't go and focus and point out when adults
act inappropriately. It is in some way a bit of
a well whatever, it's okay, But you know what happens
(18:02):
that leads to individuals, young people influenced by progressive policies
and the radical ideologies on the left to go out
and potentially commit heinous acts of murder, you know, like
when individuals who are out there trying to reach college
students and are assassinated in the middle of expressing their
free speech by simply going onto campuses to talk to
(18:25):
other individuals. So yeah, I kind of feel like we
need to continue to focus on stuff like this.
Speaker 2 (18:33):
We'll get back to.
Speaker 1 (18:33):
More of your comments coming up on the iHeart Radio app,
and then we will get into I'll play you the
campaign announcement video by Lisa Dame at House. Speaker tossed
her hat into the ring Fort Minnesota governor and is
already taking jabs from both Republicans and Democrats.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
It's all coming up on Twin City's News Talk three
point five and on the iHeartRadio app Twin City's News Talk.
Speaker 1 (19:06):
Am eleven thirty one oh three five FM from the
sixty five to one Carpet Next Day Install Studios. Glad
you're with the show this morning. All right, we're gonna
lightning round a handful of talkbacks relating to what we've
been discussing. These math teachers Halloween costumes in a southern
Arizona school district viral social media post.
Speaker 2 (19:27):
Claiming they were glorifying a murder.
Speaker 1 (19:30):
That takes have been really, really interesting on this from
both conservatives. Well, actually, I'll just gope for mostly conservatives.
Those I've seen on the left don't give a rip.
I had somebody that had messaged me this morning through
Instagram who was coming at me for bringing it up.
Speaker 2 (19:49):
Online.
Speaker 1 (19:49):
I'd posted a video regarding this photo of these handful
of math teachers wearing a shirt. This is problem solved
with blood splattered all over one side of the shirt.
And again, unless you been living under a rock, it's Halloween.
And based off the number of individuals that have been
out trick or treating or celebrating Halloween and wearing Charlie
Kirk assassination costumes, of which there are dozens of photographs available,
(20:13):
one has to question why in the world, regardless of
your excuse or justification, did you think it was appropriate
to go and wear that shirt again if you indeed
did wear it the first time. But this individual was
questioning and was pointing to the AI video that allegedly
debunked this and said, are you going to apologize for
bringing this up and then go and then went and
(20:36):
explained how it was justified that Charlie Kirk was assassinated.
So there is no arguing with the left right now,
and this will get to what I'm about to talk
about with Lisa Damuth as well. So it's been really
interesting seeing the conservative commentary and sort of the division
between those that feel that it's appropriate to go and
point this out and that's how I feel we need
(20:59):
to bring back some of the those societal standards. You
have your right to free speech, but it doesn't mean
that when you display something inappropriate or say something inappropriate,
depending on the context of which it is involved, that
you just ignore it.
Speaker 2 (21:15):
And those that feel like it's much ado about nothing.
Speaker 1 (21:18):
So let's do a lightning round of your talkbacks from
the iHeartRadio app brought to you by Lyndall Realty.
Speaker 3 (21:24):
Grove.
Speaker 16 (21:25):
Here, I'm with you, John, regardless if the message was
about Charlie Kirk, which if it was, was absolutely disgusting.
But regardless if it was or not, what message are
they trying to portray? Because if it's assassination your teachers
of very young children and that is your funny Halloween costume,
(21:51):
that it's okay to kill people.
Speaker 1 (21:53):
And it was interesting too because all the photographs that
are available of past Halloween celebrations at the school, every
single one one of them, of all the other faculty members,
they're all like really benign fun costumes relating.
Speaker 2 (22:06):
To what you would wear for underage children.
Speaker 6 (22:11):
Hi, John, They gaslight us so that we spend all
of our time talking about whether they intended demock Charlie
Kirk or not, and I refuse to be gas lit.
Speaker 2 (22:21):
They intended to do it.
Speaker 1 (22:22):
No sane, reasonable person would put that shirt on without
knowing what it looked like.
Speaker 2 (22:28):
So no more being gas lit.
Speaker 17 (22:32):
All teachers knew one hundred percent what they were doing.
They thought they were being very smug and COI hiding
under the pretense of a Halloween outfit. I hope parents
go to a school board meeting and call them on
their behavior. They need to be accountable, just like everybody
else does.
Speaker 10 (22:48):
Yeah, basically, the T shirts are saying that violence solves
the problem.
Speaker 2 (22:55):
That makes no sense to me.
Speaker 1 (23:00):
That's the one thing I hope that we get out
of all this. I hope that we get a firm
explanation in rationale of why this T shirt was made
in the first place. Let does a bloody T shirt
have to do with problems being solved unless you're referring
to the way that this was taken by those that
saw the shirts in the first place.
Speaker 14 (23:19):
John, You're right in your analysis. We should always be
surprised by this kind of behavior, But we have allowed
these individuals to act this way and done absolutely nothing
about it for so long. They have put on a
peer of dance shoes and tapped out into public like
Fred Astare on.
Speaker 2 (23:39):
This kind of behavior.
Speaker 14 (23:41):
We shouldn't be surprised because we've seen it so many
times before. We should actually do something about it.
Speaker 15 (23:49):
And to the talk packer that called in and asked.
Speaker 3 (23:51):
Are we going to be offended?
Speaker 11 (23:53):
We don't have to be offended.
Speaker 15 (23:55):
But your point has been polluted by leftist rhetoric. They
want you to say that because on one side they
will be offended and hold you to the death when
you say something that they don't like. They don't want
you to have that power. You don't have to be offended,
but you can't point it out that it's wrong. You
(24:15):
can absolutely point out that it's wrong.
Speaker 3 (24:17):
Have a great.
Speaker 2 (24:18):
Day, Good morning, John and Brent.
Speaker 18 (24:20):
It's a slippery slopism that we seem to start accepting
as Wow, that's just the way it is.
Speaker 2 (24:26):
Is wrong. I'll give you a prime example.
Speaker 18 (24:29):
So in my fitness class, I'll put together playlists and
I can play song from the sixties, seventies, eighties, nineties,
and the two thousands, and every decade I move forward
to today, I have to worry more and more about
content and language. Than I did back in the sixties
and seventies. Case in point, Good.
Speaker 16 (24:51):
Morning, John, frustrating morning for me.
Speaker 19 (24:55):
We are going on and on and on about something
that really doesn't matter at all. So they were tasteless
in their attire for Halloween.
Speaker 3 (25:09):
So what they're not?
Speaker 19 (25:10):
Our kids? Yeah, our kids know of the news.
Speaker 2 (25:13):
Hopefully parents are teaching them. Right, Let's get on the
subjects that matter to America.
Speaker 1 (25:19):
I understand the spirit of what you're saying, but I
also believe that this matters in America right now because
the issues don't matter right now. Are the important? Sure, absolutely,
they're absolutely important, But right now, in the grand scheme
of things, we're not talking about the issues. There is
no debating with liberals right now. This is where the
(25:42):
debate takes place. Is this type of assassination culture going
to be allowed to continue to permeate or are we
going to call it out to put those guardrails back
in place. You used to lose jobs overdoing stuff like this.
(26:03):
We had standards, and slowly those standards are being eroded,
and sometimes they are eroded by ridiculous nonsense of what
we're talking about this morning, which is why I personally
find it so important because a lot of the time,
most of the time, people only get held accountable in
(26:26):
twenty twenty five when.
Speaker 2 (26:27):
There's a public outrage and people are forced.
Speaker 1 (26:29):
To go and move, because most people don't want to
deal with the controversy, because dealing with the controversy and
holding people accountable in.
Speaker 2 (26:35):
And of itself becomes a political move.
Speaker 1 (26:39):
Let's say, for example, that the school district in this
high school in Veil, Arizona, that they decide, the school
board decides to move against these particular teachers. You don't
think that those members of the district board aren't going
to be looked at by taking a political stance one
way or the other. Of course they are. In the past,
(27:01):
this would have been a right or wrong versus issue.
This is going to become a left versus right depending
on where you stand politically.
Speaker 2 (27:11):
What I'd like to see is get back to just
simple right or wrong. And that's what this is about,
you know.
Speaker 1 (27:17):
And this brings us to the big news story heading
out of the weekend.
Speaker 2 (27:22):
Let's go here.
Speaker 10 (27:24):
Good morning, John Lisa Damoth running for Minnesota governor. That
is the best news all day. Finally an adult on
the scene. I can't wait to vote for her.
Speaker 1 (27:37):
And yet in the moments after she announces, already taking
heat from other Republicans running for governor. And we'll talk
about this in just a moment, but House Speaker Lisa
Damoth did announce on Sunday that she will be seeking
the GOP endorsement to challenge Governor Tim Wallson the gubernatorial
race next year Lifelong, Minnesota and Daymoth is joining a
(27:58):
large field of candidates hoping to be the first GOP
governor since Tim PAULENTI now she hopefully will be on
the show tomorrow. I've been working on scheduling in the
wake of the announcement. I know she's I believe she's
going to be holding some sort of press conference today
regarding this, and hopefully we'll have her on the show tomorrow.
This is the audio from the campaign video released by
(28:19):
her campaign running for governor. I posted this up on
my x feet as well at John j O Injustice,
or you can head on over to at TC news
talk of how easy.
Speaker 16 (28:29):
It would be to be a damn Republican today.
Speaker 1 (28:34):
We start off of the contact here is is U
is appropriate? So she's driving in her car and she's
listening to the radio and she's hearing these clips of
Governor Tim Wallas.
Speaker 2 (28:45):
She's listening to my show.
Speaker 1 (28:46):
By the way, I have no I have no evidence
radio sception I have I have, I have no evidence
of that whatsoever. I made that joke online with a
with a winkie face emoji Brett and uh. And somebody
was like, I don't know if you can prove that, John,
I said, well.
Speaker 2 (29:01):
No, I can't do. It's a joke.
Speaker 1 (29:02):
I just wanted so for the fact I played that
clip all the time. But it does it make Here's
the audio from her announcement video.
Speaker 2 (29:09):
To be a damn Republican.
Speaker 11 (29:11):
Oh what should I wear today?
Speaker 9 (29:12):
This stupid frigging.
Speaker 19 (29:13):
At Donald Trump's goatpoo is scooping folks up all the
streams by soul life facts.
Speaker 7 (29:19):
And not enough.
Speaker 20 (29:22):
I've had enough of the hate and enough of the lies,
and enough of Tim Walls dividing Minnesotan's to cover up
his failures.
Speaker 2 (29:31):
Let's be real. Tim Walls doesn't just disagree with us,
he hates us.
Speaker 20 (29:37):
He's more focused on.
Speaker 2 (29:38):
Attacking President Trump than on fixing Minnesota.
Speaker 20 (29:42):
I grew up right here. Mom worked at a bank.
Dad drove of us we went to church on Sundays,
worked hard, Families were thriving. We believed in Minnesota. Now,
too many homes boarded up, too many families living in
fear of crime, rising costs, drugs flooding our streets, taxes
(30:03):
through the roof, and a governor more worried about pleasing
the far left than doing what's actually right.
Speaker 21 (30:09):
He blew the surplus, raised taxes, let fraud run wild.
He attacked Ice and gave free health care to illegal immigrants.
Speaker 2 (30:19):
That's not leadership, that's betrayal. But Minnesotans don't give up.
We fight for what's right.
Speaker 21 (30:26):
That's why I ran for school board to give parents
a voice, why I led Republicans in the House to
stop Walls's reckless spending and radical agendas.
Speaker 2 (30:35):
And I'll always fight to.
Speaker 21 (30:37):
Make sure girls' spaces are for girls, not men in dresses,
because our daughters deserve fairness and our families deserve freedom.
Speaker 20 (30:46):
I'll never bow to the radical mob, and I'll never apologize.
Speaker 21 (30:50):
We're standing up for common sense. My mom taught me
something simple. You can complain or you can do something.
And I've never been one to sit on the sidelines.
I bought Walls as fraud, his waste, his attacks on
our freedom, and I'm not done yet.
Speaker 20 (31:05):
I'm Lisa Dame and I'm running for governor because Minnesota is.
Speaker 2 (31:09):
Worth fighting for.
Speaker 21 (31:10):
Let's fire Tim Walls and take our state back.
Speaker 1 (31:17):
First elected to the Minnesota House of Representatives in twenty eighteen,
Damouth represents a rural district just outside of Saint Clouds.
He's regularly one reelection by wide margins. I want to
get into a little bit more of this Alpha News
post here in a bit.
Speaker 2 (31:31):
We are going to go back.
Speaker 1 (31:32):
I got a lot of talkbacks that rolled in based
on the previous conversation, and we'll combine it with the
conversation we're having here regarding Lisa Damoth's announcement, because I
believe that you can look at the Venn diagram of
how these issues are crossing over based off of where
we need to be concerned and how do we move
forward strategically.
Speaker 2 (31:53):
To win elections.
Speaker 1 (31:55):
So Tory van Out out of Axios posted this on
line in the wake of Lisa Damoth announcing her gubernatorial run.
Statement from fellow GOP candidate, Representative Kristin Robbins in response
to Daymouth bid underscores one of the thornier aspects of
challenging Walls. As a divided Minnesota Speaker members on both
(32:20):
sides were unhappy with aspects of the bipartisan budget deal.
Speaker Daymouth has been a friend since we were both
elected in twenty eighteen, says Kristin Robbins. But I'm the
only conservative Republican who's a proven winner in the suburbs.
I'm the only one who can actually defeat tube term
Governor Tim Walls. I've led the fight against the rampant
(32:40):
fraud and the Walls administration, and as governor, I'll fight
the fraud lawer taxes and stop the insanity after meetings.
Speaker 2 (32:47):
She goes on to say, Kristin Robbins with grassroots Republicans
across in Minnesota for.
Speaker 1 (32:52):
Months, it's clear there's no appetite for a Republican who
sides with Tim Walls on raising taxes and making our
streets less safe. Lisa Damouth agreed to a back room
budget deal that raised taxes and shut down the Still
Water prison plan with no plan which will result in
releasing criminals back into our communities. Daymoth and Walls raised
(33:14):
our taxes and made our streets less safe. That's exactly
what I'm fighting about, says Representative Christen Robbins, who's also
running for governor as well. Tourist response coming out of
that campaign, and I completely understand how in a crowded
GOP field, the candidates are going to need to find
ways to go and distinguish themselves from one another. I
(33:36):
just hope it doesn't get too ugly. And I'm not
saying that those statements were that ugly. I think any
time if you're a Republican and your being compared or
attached to Governor Tim Walls, yeah it's pretty egregious. But again,
I understand the need and desire to go and separate
yourself because we're not talking about the issues now. And
(33:58):
this is the point that I wanted to make on this,
and we'll get back to your talkbacks because this goes
back to that previous comment. We need to get back
you back to the subjects that matter. Well, this is
where we are right now. We're not talking about these issues.
Speaker 2 (34:12):
And while these.
Speaker 1 (34:13):
Issues relating to the primary fight that will ensue between
now and next to August might be the deciding factor
between these candidates, I'm still very much of the opinion
that it's really going to come down to who is
best positioned on a host of other issues, not relating
(34:33):
to the to the issues to beating Governor Tim Walls,
and I just hope that Republicans don't go about just
beating each other.
Speaker 2 (34:43):
To to the point where everybody is damaged. I get
how this works.
Speaker 1 (34:51):
I wish we could get rid of the endorsement process,
the Minnesota GOP endorsement process, NUK.
Speaker 2 (34:57):
It is not doing us any favors. It is only
going to end up.
Speaker 1 (35:01):
And I know we're not going to and I know
we're going to have to go through this, but I'm
very much of the opinion, especially right now with the
climate that we're living in in Minnesota and across the country,
that endorsement process is going to rip people apart. And
I just pray that once we get out of that,
and once we get past the primary and we have
(35:21):
a candidate, that the candidate is not damaged to the
point where suddenly we had a goalden opportunity to go
and make sure that Governor Tim Walls doesn't get an.
Speaker 2 (35:32):
Historic third term.
Speaker 1 (35:33):
But unfortunately we beat each other up so badly that
that person is damaged to the point where Governor Tim
Walls rides to victory in the third term. I just
don't want to see that happen, and I'm worried that
it's going to and I'm praying that it doesn't. All right,
let's get back to some of your thoughts from the
iHeartRadio app this morning on Twin City's News Talk.
Speaker 22 (35:54):
Great morning to you, John. To the talkbacker who just
said that this topic does not matter, I strongly disagree
with him. Moral decay of societal norms does absolutely matter,
and if you don't think it matters, then you are
a part of the problem.
Speaker 18 (36:14):
Hi John.
Speaker 23 (36:17):
For the people that are saying these T shirts are
no big deal, that's incredible. They're a huge deal. These
are public school teachers getting paid with tax dollars to
push ideas onto your kids, not preparing them for the
real world, and making our society psychotic in a way.
This needs to end, and we need to put our
(36:37):
foot down and we need to get these unions back
on track or abolish them.
Speaker 9 (36:47):
Hi John, I'm a teacher in Anoka Hennapin and I'd
like you to mention the Anoka Hennipin school board election tomorrow.
It is a really life changing election for teachers and
parents who care about quality education and no indoctrination. There's
a chance that three Conservatives could get elected to the board.
(37:11):
If we get too elected, we will have a majority
of conservativism.
Speaker 24 (37:18):
Good morning, John Dashaw, as always say, with respect to
your comments on the Republican field and upcoming primary, I
hope the Republicans state the stance I took in twenty sixteen.
Speaker 2 (37:28):
I was on the ABH train anybody but Hillary.
Speaker 24 (37:31):
Hopefully after the primary, Republicans will get on the ABT
train anybody but Kim, no matter who the endorsed candidate
is or what are the primary Excuse me, have a
great day, guys.
Speaker 4 (37:45):
Good morning John, So Lisa Damuth and these little Republicans
are going for governor.
Speaker 2 (37:49):
I have a question for you.
Speaker 4 (37:52):
Unlike the Democrats, do they live in the state, live
in the district. Do they have any criminal backgrounds having
skeletons in her closet like diafellon the other one out
of shockp I think or John Thompson I invoked his name.
Oh I'm sorry, man, but just a question if you
(38:13):
could answer that.
Speaker 2 (38:16):
Well, wrong one got not playing the whole thing right. Now,
I don't have time.
Speaker 15 (38:25):
Now.
Speaker 2 (38:25):
Listen.
Speaker 1 (38:25):
It's a it's a good question, and it goes back
to what I was mentioning before and what I don't
want to see happen, and a lot of this, a
lot of my commentary surrounding this, is essentially a wholesale
change to the way that we look at the election
process right now, because we're not living in normal times.
(38:45):
I mean, the fact that I've been cross pollinating the
talkbacks between Lisa Damuth announcing her campaign as Minnesota governor
and this controversy over these Arizona math teachers and their
bloody Halloween costume tells you that we're not living in
normal times. We're not living in a time where we
can get down on the granular level on these particular
(39:08):
issues and feel like we're going to be able to
reach people. Right now, the Republicans game is going to
be getting as many Republicans out to vote as humanly
possible and not beating each other up to the point
where the candidate who is at the top of the
ticket is damaged and can't go and win. Whether it's
the governor's race or any other races either. I'm very
(39:31):
much of the view that we need to shift our
focal point.
Speaker 2 (39:36):
Yes, I get it.
Speaker 1 (39:36):
These candidates are going to have to go and differentiate
themselves from one another as they vie to be the
nominee for the GOP for the governorship here in Minnesota.
I completely understand that. I just hope that people keep
in mind that, you know what, this needs to be
a friendly fight. It doesn't need to be an ugly fight.
(39:58):
Differentiate ourselves from Democrats in the midst of when you're
differentiating yourself from the other candidates, and prove why it
is that you are the individual who can solely go
and beat Tim Walls. All right, we'll get into a
little bit more of this coming up. A few more
details regarding Lisa Dema's announcement on We also have more
(40:19):
Christian Robbins News.
Speaker 2 (40:21):
Robin slams a.
Speaker 1 (40:21):
Billboard company for blocking and ad linking to walls fraud.
Speaker 2 (40:25):
This was a really stupid move by the Billboard company.
I'll explain why coming up, and we'll
