Time now for Fantasy Football Weekly from iHeartRadio, your weekly
source for the nation's best fantasy speculation and advice.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
Now, along with the guys from dat leagues dot com,
here's your.
Speaker 3 (00:15):
Host, Paul Chargian.
Speaker 4 (00:18):
Welcome to a week three edition of Fantasy Football Weekly.
Speaker 3 (00:21):
I am Paul Chargian.
Speaker 4 (00:23):
Co host today Thorne Einstrom and for the fifth straight show,
Scott Fish. Scott, we didn't we had you one time
the entire offseason. Now we've got you five straight shows.
Do you feel tuckered out?
Speaker 1 (00:37):
I am.
Speaker 5 (00:38):
I am tuckered out. That's the perfect way to put it.
Speaker 4 (00:41):
I need a vacation, the old five season, week three
vacation out of its eighteen weeks.
Speaker 5 (00:49):
Well, if I get to spend five weeks with anyone,
I'm glad it's your charge.
Speaker 3 (00:52):
Oh.
Speaker 4 (00:53):
We lots to get to over the course of this show,
including letter grades for every player across fifteen of them,
remaining matchups, well all fifteen the remaining matchups well answered,
three tough questions will give you premature speculation players, and
of course take a chance on me Indianapolis taking on Tennessee.
Speaker 5 (01:12):
Yeah, I feel just as good as I did about
the New Orleans Saints after two weeks last year. That's
actually I feel a little better than that. To be honest,
I think koc bight to fix Daniel Jones. It's hard
to really ignore what Jones is doing in this offense,
his ability to run with all the RPOs that the
Jeane Steichen is doing, it's really fitting what Daniel Jones
(01:33):
does well. I mentioned last week how the Titans spent
last year and even Week one holding qbs to the
lowest passing yards and a bunch of sub two hundred games.
Stafford last week profililed closer to the ones that rose
above that. He did great with two hundred and ninety
eight yards and two scores. I think this offense might
be a little still below Stafford last week, but it
might be able to overcome. So I have a B
(01:55):
grade on Daniel Jones. He doesn't have Stafford's weapon, but
he's got the offense humming, he's got the running ability.
Has two hundred and seventy plus yards in both games,
scoring five times with rushing, passing, et cetera. The Colts
haven't even punted yet through two games.
Speaker 3 (02:11):
That's insane.
Speaker 5 (02:12):
That's the first team out to go to NFL two.
Speaker 3 (02:15):
Games with no punts, and it's the Colts.
Speaker 4 (02:18):
If there are a lot of us that thought Shane
Steichen could be first coach fired and give him, give
him plenty of credit. It turns out a lot of
times you can be a pretty good coach if you
just don't have an NFL level quarterback.
Speaker 3 (02:32):
It doesn't matter.
Speaker 5 (02:33):
Yep, that's very true. Michael Pittman. I'm giving a B
grade too, A four for forty day on a day
where he was mostly shadowed by patzertan Is. It's probably
about as good as you could hope for. That was fine.
He'll get Lagerius Stead when he plays. He's been kind
of a part time player as he eases back from
the ACL and when when Steve isn't in there, he's
gonna get Jarvis Browne, who I mentioned last week in
(02:55):
the matchup with Devonte Adams, I recommended Devonte Adams. Brownlee
is ranked eightieth among quarterbacks. Michael Pittman's still getting well
over a twenty percent target chair and this is the
third easiest matchup for fantasy wide receivers. After the Titans
gave up that huge game to the Rams last week
and sudden and Franklin didn't do two terrible in Week one.
They both had feasible a wide receiver three level days.
(03:15):
So B grade for Michael Pittman, C grade for Josh Downs.
He led in targets last week. You could argue there's
a little bit of a product of Pittman covering or
Certan covering Pittman, so he got open more. He goes
up against Roger McCreery, who is PFF's eighth graded defensive
back with a seventy eight point one coverage grade. But
I'm still giving him a C because he plays all three.
(03:36):
He's mostly a slock guy, but he can move around.
And Danny Dimes is just on fire right now. He's
sending a ton of targets Josh Downs way, so if
he can move around, he's gonna get a little bit
of volume in this offense, which is this which is
second in the league in bassing currently. So C grade
for Josh Downs, A grade for Tyler Warren. No, I'm
not super worried about the toe. He's practicing limited to
(03:58):
end the week, but he should still go out there.
He's averaging just under six for eighty. Titans haven't really
been tested at tight end this year, Tyler Higbee and
maybe flop of the year at the tight end position,
Candyate Evan Ingram Or is that Mark Andrews might be
one of those.
Speaker 3 (04:14):
Yeah, it could be any of a variety of t J. Hockinson.
There's a bunch of candidates, sadly, and that would be
up for flop of the year at tight end so
far through two weeks.
Speaker 5 (04:23):
Yeah, but twenty nine percent target per route run, twenty
six percent target share for Tyler Warren. They're running that
offense through them. A grade there. A grade for Jonathan
Taylor as well, who has the most rush attempts in
the NFL through two weeks and the most total yards.
The Titans allowed one hundred and fifty seven yards in
a score to Denver in Week one, one hundred and
twenty four yards in the score in week two to
(04:44):
the Rams, and Jonathan Taylor gets everything unless it's a
blowout where DJ Gidden's got twelve carries in the first game,
but last week was a little closer and nobody else
got a touch. So a grade for Jonathan Taylor over
on Titan's side. I'm actually gon to start some Titans
this week. I have cam Ward still on the bench.
He's he has the lowest yards per completion and his
(05:05):
opponent opponent, the Colts, allow the fewest yards per completion.
It's just not a good spot for him. But I
am going to give C grades to Iomaner and Ridley.
I think they can get just enough to, you know,
have an okay day without Ward being worthy of a start.
Nearly twenty five percent target share for Iomanor. Ward doesn't
(05:26):
pass for many yards, but he's got a twenty seven
percent first red target share, leads the team in air yards.
He gets Xavian Hard who used to be a late
but this year he ranks one hundred and thirty first
out of one hundred and forty one cornerbacks with a
thirty nine point three PFF grade, a thirty five point
one coverage grade, and a one fifty two point or
(05:48):
one twenty five point two passer rating against very favorable
matchup for Iomanor there Calvin Ridley twenty five percent target
share despite some tougher cornerback matchups. He Ward just still
throws it right to him. He's gonna get Tavarious Ward
assuming he comes back, and if not, he gets Makai
Blackman if he gets Ward. In Week one, Ward was
the sixteenth ranked cornerback with a seventy six point one
(06:09):
coverage grade. If it's a Hasie situation or really can
move around, I expect a little more and really should
be able to get a C grade there. Tony Pollard's
gonna get a B grade here as well. Pollard with
just one target in each game, which is concerning, but
he leads the NFL running backs in snaps, averaging nineteen
touches for eighty nine yards or eighteen nineteen touches for
(06:30):
a nine yards in Week one, twenty touches for ninety
and week two, the Colts allowed seven point five yards
per touch to a Chan and five point seven yards
per touch to Dobbins. If Pollard gets anywhere near that
clip with twenty touches, he's gonna have a really good day.
So B grade for Tony Pollard.
Speaker 4 (06:46):
Pollard quietly been just a nice fantasy, quiet fantasy producer.
You know, nothing special, but it's all it's all been good, Thorn.
Let's turn our attention to two teams that have had
really good defenses so far, mostly good defenses. I guess
I should say Green Bay taking on Cleveland for Green Bay.
Really everything has worked, nothing hasn't, but the Cleveland defense
(07:07):
has been good in spots.
Speaker 3 (07:08):
So let's hear what your thoughts are on the Packers.
Speaker 1 (07:10):
Yeah, sure has. I'm expecting a low scoring game here.
We'll kick it off with Jordan Love, who I'm giving
a grade a B two in this game. He's number
one in the NFL and ad op by a significant margin.
Been highly productive on a person aut basis through two games,
but only twenty fifth in the NFL in passive tempts
so far. This game Profiles is a run heavy script.
(07:31):
If you assume like I do, that the Green Bay
is gonna run away from this one. They're over a
touchdown favorite, so that's why I gave Love a B
in this one.
Speaker 6 (07:38):
Josh Jacobs is a must start.
Speaker 1 (07:41):
He was clear to play on Friday, was limited on
Wednesday and Thursday, so keep an eye on his workload.
But you have to start him here a course. Romeo Dobbs,
I'm giving him a bee. He's been very good so
far this season. Got a decent opportunity here as well.
He's gonna draw Greg Newsom a little bit in this game.
This matchup Greg Newsom graded out as one of the
worst corners in the league last year. PFF coverage grade
(08:03):
of fifty four ranked one hundred and sixty third out
of two hundred and twenty two qualifying cornerbacks in PFF
grade down Tevian Wicks, I'll give him a seed. He's
the biggest benefactor from Jayden Reid's color Mode injury. Yeah,
and you could see it last week. Couldn't get charged
like right when Reid went out of that game. Wicks
after that four catches forty four yards on six targets
(08:25):
against Washington after Reid left that game, So he gets
the bump here, I cannot yet get I'm curious what
you guys saying, but I can't give the bump up
to Matthew Golden. He's gonna have to show it to me.
And the comments that Lafleur made earlier this week about
how he's not going to rush a rookies' development because
of a veteran injury, I'm going to keep him on
the bench. I don't want any part of Golden this week.
(08:47):
And then Tucker Kraft he's been cleared to play as well,
and he is a must start now, so I mean
you have to have him out there in the lineup
as well. Moving over to the brown side of it,
we got a lot of benches, a lot of bench here,
which is probably going to be a theme going up
against the Packer defense going forward in fantasy.
Speaker 6 (09:05):
A little bit.
Speaker 1 (09:06):
But yeah, Joe Flacco, you have to leave him on
the bench. I would also keep Jerry Judy and Cedric
Tillman on the bench. Those guys are both going to
need to score a touchdown in this game, I think,
to be startable. So if you have a better option
on your bench, I would make sure that they were
in your starting lineup. For one of those guys, I'll
give Quinnchawn Jenkins a see. He looked better than I
thought he would last week, you know against Baltimore ten
(09:27):
carries for sixty one yards.
Speaker 6 (09:29):
Also had three catches for ten yards. Quinn Shawn Jenkins.
Speaker 1 (09:32):
That was a big question we had about him coming
out was the receiving thing. Cleveland clearly wanted to get
him involved, you know with the dumpops, the screen stuff
like that. So that's something to monitor here. This is
a tough matchup for an encore if you want to
average over six yards per touch, again, Packers have allowed
seventy eight yards and no touchdowns on thirty two carries
to opposing running backs so far, So good luck, mister Jenkins.
Speaker 5 (09:56):
Not only that, Judkins only had twenty touch twenty snaps
and he got teen touches, and he forced five miss
tackles on those thirteen touches.
Speaker 1 (10:04):
Yeah, I don't know that he's gonna be breaking that
many tackles against the Packers.
Speaker 5 (10:07):
But well, they're right.
Speaker 6 (10:08):
We'll definitely see.
Speaker 1 (10:09):
And then a rookie for the Browns that I am
more interested in this week, Carrol Fan and Junior, I'll
give him a beat. Harrol Fan and Junior Day you're
gonna be come. Yeah, Like this guy's moving closer to
being a weekly start for me. He's got thirty routes
in both the games he's played his first two in
the NFL. Usage rate has been very high in those
snaps on those routes, averaging nearly twelve Fantasy points per
(10:32):
game cut twelve or fourteen targets for one hundred and
eleven receiving yards so far. That's the guy that Flacco
seems to be looking for. For manufactured touches, there will
be a lot of manufactured touches in this game, because
you need to get the ball out of your hands very,
very quickly when Michael Parsons is pursuing on foot.
Speaker 6 (10:49):
And so I like Fannon in this one.
Speaker 1 (10:51):
David and Joku on the other hand, and I'm curious,
I'm if you guys are going to push back on
this any I would keep him on the bench. I
don't like what I have seen about him, you know,
the first couple of weeks and again this one where
I think you're gonna have more than manufacturer touching. I
prefer fan and anyway, fans look better in the first
couple of games. Anyway, I would bet on fannin. I
would Fade and Joku in this matchup.
Speaker 4 (11:15):
Tucker Craft might be tight end one one healthy yep,
he can play yep. And with Jayden Reid out, I
think there's just that much more for him to do
in the middle of the field. And that guy is
that guy's going to be a beast. Let's go over
to Dallas taking on Chicago.
Speaker 3 (11:31):
Dallas.
Speaker 4 (11:32):
I want to note this they lost their starting center,
Cooper beebe so that could be a pretty big factor here.
Speaker 3 (11:36):
Brock Hoffman is going to try to fill in.
Speaker 4 (11:38):
It's a pretty big drop off, so everybody just a
little bit more caution here, but this should be a
point orgy for two pretty good or semi good offenses
against two bad defenses. You know, Ceedee Lamb is an
obvious a now, don't need to expand on that, but
so is George Pickens in this one great opportunity. Chicago's
two best cornerbacks, Jalen Johnson Kyler Gordon, both going to
(12:01):
miss this game. The Bears have allowed the most points
most fantasy points to wide receivers, including a league worst
five touchdowns to wide receivers. Already, George Pickens absolutely in
play in this one, and for that matter, if you're
in a desperate spot or you're looking for a DFS flyer,
Jalen Tolbert and Cavante Turpin are in play as well
(12:23):
because of the overwhelmingly positive matchups that they are going
to have and Jake Ferguson so c grade on those two.
I prefer Tolbert. It gets about runs about twice as
many routes over Turpin. Ferguson tight end getting a ton
of usage. He's fifth among all tight ends in routes run.
He's second in targets.
Speaker 3 (12:42):
Chicago's allowed an eighty three percent catch rate for opposing
tight ends eighty three percent, So Jake Ferguson absolutely in
play and a B grade there. Then, as I'm doling
out all these letters, you know this must mean I
love Dak Prescott. I've got letter grades on six receiving
options for Dak Prescott. I don't think that has ever
happened in the time that I've been doing this show,
(13:03):
so at least not for Dak Prescott. Anyway, this is
probably the best opportunity for Dak Prescott's entire season is
right here.
Speaker 4 (13:13):
So he comes in with an A grade in this game.
Then let's go to the running game. Last thing for Dallas.
Jontay Williams also an A grade. He is the second
highest scoring fantasy back. If you did the opposite and
your draft, and you sloughed running backs to the mid
rounds and you scooped up just just a starting running
(13:33):
back for the Dallas Cowboys, You've been paid nicely.
Speaker 3 (13:36):
With Javonte Williams.
Speaker 4 (13:38):
The Bears have allowed the second most fantasy points to
opposing running backs, and Williams honestly looking as strong as
he has since his ACL injury. He comes in with
an A grade as well. Over to the Chicago side,
there's only one guy for the Bears who is an
unequivocal success story.
Speaker 3 (13:59):
Roma doonsay. He has looked great.
Speaker 4 (14:04):
He is leading all Baird's receivers in every metric, snaps, targets, routes,
a dot, everything you want. It's all this offense is
going through Roma Dunza cornerback to Ron Bland. He's the bet,
probably the best cornerback including Trayvon Diggs for the Cowboys.
Speaker 3 (14:19):
He's out and.
Speaker 4 (14:21):
The Cowboys are allowing the most passing yards to wide receivers.
So Roma dunsay a lock a. Dj Moore also gets
an A even though he's turned into a second option
in this offense. But just last week the Giants had
two different receivers top one hundred and forty two yards
against Dallas, and so a nice opportunity for both guys
(14:43):
to get paid here and again with Deron Bland out,
that'll open up some extra opportunities for DJ Moore, So
he also comes in with an A in this one. Now,
all the rest of the receivers Olamide's a chaias Luther
Burden and Coldkaman and Colson Lovelin all on the bench.
Somebody probably has some success in this game, but none
(15:05):
of them getting enough reliable playing time. We'll keep all
of those on the bench. While we're on the passing game.
Caleb Williams Russell Wilson just threw for four hundred and
fifty yards and three touchdowns against Dallas last week. And
Williams will also chip in some rushing help here. He's
had five and six designed runs in the two games
(15:27):
so far, and so far this season, the Cowboys have
allowed eighty five.
Speaker 3 (15:31):
Rushing yards and two quarterback rushing touchdowns. I really like
Caleb Williams of this matchup too b grade for him.
Then we go to the running game, where things aren't
as quite as nice. DeAndre Swift has got this quad injury.
He's shaping up as a game time decision. The guy
you want to go get is Kyle Mnungai.
Speaker 5 (15:49):
If only he was a premature speculation last week by
someone on the show exactly.
Speaker 4 (15:55):
It's I can't give you the peacock plight yet on that, Scott,
but we're not.
Speaker 1 (15:59):
We're not that far off.
Speaker 4 (16:01):
But go get him and young guys in case Swift
either doesn't go here or if Swift looks bad again,
he's only he has struggled to this point.
Speaker 3 (16:10):
He's just giving you just four yards per carry.
Speaker 4 (16:13):
Despite the fact that Chicago's offensive line has been good.
They ranked number one in run block win rate, and
Swift's not doing anything with it. He's currently at negative
point three yards over expectation, so change could be a
foot here. I've got a C grade on a gimpy
DeAndre Swift. If he does go all right, that wraps
(16:37):
up our first three set of matchups. Coming up next,
take a chance on me nine players who would not
normally start. Many of these guys available on the waiver wire.
Find out who they are. Would we come back to
Fantasy Football Weekly.
Speaker 3 (17:17):
A welcome to take a chance on me.
Speaker 4 (17:26):
Nine players you would not normally start on your fantasy roster,
but you'll.
Speaker 3 (17:30):
Want to this week.
Speaker 4 (17:32):
Find out who they are as we begin at the
quarterback position and Scott Fish, who you got?
Speaker 5 (17:40):
Yeah, I'm gonna start with Aaron Rodgers QB for the
Pittsburgh Steelers. I kind of stole this last week with
using TUA against the New England Patriots. The Patriots have
just been terrible defending fantasy passers. This year, they've allowed
thirteen explosive plays over twenty plus yards in just two games.
Three hundred us to Geno in Week one, three hundred
(18:01):
plus and two scores to might take a chance, I
mean two of last week. This might be a teamy
stream quarterbacks against. All year, the Steelers have allowed thirty
two first downs on fifty completions, had thirty two first
downs out of sixty six attempts, so basically half the
time they you dropped it back to pass on them,
you're getting a first down. It's it's absolutely ridiculous. Bounce
(18:23):
back game here should land somewhere in between his four
score opener and the one score game last week.
Speaker 4 (18:28):
All right, Aaron Rodgers are first, take a chance on
me quarterback? Or who is your take a chance on
me quarterback?
Speaker 6 (18:34):
Saints quarterback Spencer Wow.
Speaker 1 (18:38):
I like it, Beer Rattler, Baby, Spencer Ratler just as
a quick as side looks fabulous this year so far.
I would be wildly impressed if that Saints coaching staff
can keep this going the rest of this season. But
that offense, and specifically Spencer Ratler, has looked a lot
better than I thought they would in the early going
last week for Spencer Raler quarterback ten in to see
(19:00):
now three passing touchdowns. But that's his game, right And
this is a game script where they're gonna be presumably
playing from behind. I think the Saints are seven and
a half point underdogs at Seattle in this game. Seattle's
corner is decent but not great. E their pass rush
decent but not great. This is a game where I
think Spencer Raler can put points on the board again.
Last week twenty two fantasy points against the forty nine ers.
(19:22):
I would expect something around that this week against the Seahawks.
Speaker 4 (19:25):
All right, and Spencer Ratler has been I tweeted this
halfway through his game, like, this kid is so much
better this year.
Speaker 3 (19:33):
Saints.
Speaker 4 (19:34):
They the fact that they called that quarterback competition very
early not surprising in retrospect.
Speaker 1 (19:39):
My quarterbacks are recruit Yeah, that kid's got talent, Spencer Ratler, Yeah.
Speaker 4 (19:44):
Yeah, there there is something there. Jake Browning is your
new starting quarterback for probably at least until Thanksgiving. For
the Cincinnati Bengals like him in this matchup with Minnesota,
even though they've managed to hold both of the opposing
quarterbacks they face so far in check, but Minnesota's potentially
missing seven eight starters on both sides of the ball
(20:05):
that could provide some opportunities for Browning.
Speaker 3 (20:08):
Browning has thrown.
Speaker 4 (20:09):
At least one touchdown in all seven of his career starts,
and he scored twice last week in a non career start,
but played most of that game. Scored two times through
the air, once on the ground, and speaking around the ground,
he's got the mobility that's pretty good. He's not saying
he's Jalen Hurts out there, but Jake Browning will extend
plays with his legs, and he likes to run. He
(20:29):
has run for four scores in his last eight games
of meaningful work. And for anybody who thinks maybe Brian
Flores is just gonna throw the book at this kid
and he might unwind, a reminder. Jake Browning faced Brian
Flores two years ago as a member of the Bengals,
rolled up three hundred and twenty four passing yards and
at two touchdowns. All right, let's go to our take
(20:50):
a chance to be running backs. And that begins with
Scott Fish.
Speaker 5 (20:53):
Who you got, I'm going with Tyler Aljier. He gets
by far the worst run to defense from last year
in the Carroll Panthers, who allowed the non lead running
backs the second running backs to hit fifty plus yards
nine times last year and they scored eight nine.
Speaker 3 (21:11):
All right, this year.
Speaker 5 (21:12):
They held the Cards runners down to ninety six in
the score last week, but et on the first week
crushed the Panthers. Atlanta uses their running backs at the
third highest rate at thirty five touches per game. Carolina
allows the second most touches per game to backs at
thirty eight per game. In two games last year, Tyler
Algier went eleven for sixty nine and nineteen for one
(21:32):
oh eight and one score against this Carolina Panthers team
at Yes, Jean Robinson played fall both games. In fact,
the four full games with Bijeon to Algier had fifty
had sixty nine one eight fifty one ninety four and
scored three times.
Speaker 3 (21:48):
Geez, that's starting running back numbers for Tyler Algier. All right, Thory,
you're take a chance with me running back?
Speaker 1 (21:54):
Might take a chance. Running back this week is Lion's
running back David Montgomery against the Ravens Monday Night Football.
Speaker 6 (22:01):
Montgomery looked great last week.
Speaker 1 (22:02):
He's running with his trademark power, and I think this
is a nice situation to have a good game here.
The Ravens are allowing four point seven yards per carry.
They have also allowed the second most receptions to opposing
running backs. David Montgomery, as you guys know, generally good
for three or four catches per game. This is also
expected to be a competitive game, So a profiles as
a moni game script. I like David Montgomery this week.
Speaker 4 (22:25):
All right, my take a chance to me running back
Basil Tuton. You could say, where was this last week?
Speaker 3 (22:30):
Charge?
Speaker 4 (22:30):
And that's fine, but you know, rocketed up to eighteen
snaps last week, which is still way behind it Travis CTN.
Speaker 3 (22:38):
But man Tut's got some jeuwice, especially for a bigger runner.
Speaker 4 (22:41):
He's got that rare size speed combo in the shockingly
good footwork for such a big player, and he can catch.
And that's what made Tank Bigsby disposable in Jacksonville. And
a big distinction here is he's going to chip in
some receptions. Houston is the opponent for Tuton, really good
pass rush, really good secondary. So teams attack Houston on
(23:02):
the ground, like last week when the Bucks two runners
combined for twenty seven carries. If we're gonna see anything
close to that from Jacksonville in this game, that puts
Batial Tooton sitting potentially in a nice game. All right, Scott,
let's go over to your take a chance on me
receiver this week.
Speaker 5 (23:20):
Yeah, I'm gonna get a little grimy here. I'm gonna
get deep in the weeds. I'm going with Jacksonvil wide
receiver Diami Brown, who when he came out. When he
came out, I was like, this is a perfect match
for Ryan Fitzpatricks test catch deep balls didn't work out there,
rostered in three percent of the leagues. But he's sitting
(23:41):
on back to back fifty plus yard decent target games
scored last week, with second in the team in targets
last weeks as Travis Hunter's defensive snaps went up and
his offensive snaps went down. Yeah, he stacked on some
runs too. He's got three rushes. He gets Kamari Laster,
who's so far this year is allowing a perfect one
(24:01):
fifty eight point three passer rating against. He's allowed ninety
percent catch rate and two scores in just the first season.
Speaker 3 (24:09):
That's terrible. Yeahly cow all right, I like it, Diomi Brown.
Speaker 4 (24:13):
That is that is the definition of a take a
chance and I'll play it right there, all right, Thori,
you're taking chance on me.
Speaker 1 (24:18):
Receiver is is Broncos wide receiver Troy Franklin at the
Chargers this week.
Speaker 6 (24:24):
Last week he popped off.
Speaker 1 (24:25):
Franklin did eight receptions on nine targets for eighty nine
yards and a touchdown against the Colts. That was good
for twenty four fantasy points. And basically my argument here
is that wasn't a fluke at all. Troy Franklin, who
was Bonexit by far his favorite target when they played
together at the University of Oregon. Troy Franklin now appears
to be Bonex's second favorite target behind Courtland Sutton on
that team, but certainly ahead of Marvin Mims and certainly
(24:48):
certainly ahead of Evan Ingram. Franklin has a fifty nine
point two percent snapshare it were in the first game,
which increased eighty three percent last week. I think you're
going to see it at that level or above going forward.
And I thought it was cool the way that Denver
has been using Franklin initially. It's the way that we
wanted him used as a rookie when we weren't seeing
(25:09):
him as much on the field. You see the scheme
boot concepts for him. He got a touchdown on one
of those. You see the quick kitting stuff with him.
You see the stuff where they manufacturer and touches off
the RPO looks, which we saw a whole bunch when
Nix and Franklin were in Eugene. So definitely trust Franklin
more than some of those Ancillartery Denver skill guys. And
I like him to be startable this week against the Chargers.
Speaker 5 (25:30):
Still annoyed. He was almost my prespect last week. They
lived together in college too.
Speaker 6 (25:35):
Yeah, oh I did.
Speaker 3 (25:36):
I didn't know that they're roomies.
Speaker 5 (25:39):
I love it.
Speaker 3 (25:40):
Somewhere Brian Johnson is smiling.
Speaker 4 (25:44):
He's getting like a tingling feeling in his extremities right
now because I am actually going to recommend.
Speaker 3 (25:50):
Dan Arnold, Kyle pits Oh, dan Ardold.
Speaker 4 (25:53):
That would be deep, That would be very impressive if
Donald dan Ardold came out of retirement and had a
big game, Kyle Pitts in and you know that, you
know the position is desperate. When I'm going to Kyle
Pitts here, it's the opponent, it's Carolina. So far, they
rank dead last and tight end yards allowed ninety four
tight end yards per game. It's only two games so far,
(26:14):
but get this. Four different tight end Trey McBride, Brenton Strange,
Elijah Higgins, and Hunter Long have all topped forty five
yards or scored against the Panthers, and Pitts has been
active in this Falcons offense thirteen targets in two games.
Speaker 3 (26:28):
So sure, let's give Kyle Pitts a try.
Speaker 5 (26:31):
Let me give it some more love. The Panthers also
allowed the most touchdowns to tight ends last year, and
Pitts is far better against cover three than both London
and Mooney.
Speaker 3 (26:41):
Oh, I like it. Nice additions to the Kyle Pitts off.
Speaker 5 (26:45):
Last That was here, Gram bar Field of Fantasy Points
I like to credit, so.
Speaker 3 (26:48):
Thank you, Graham. I do too.
Speaker 4 (26:50):
Let's work in a matchup, Scott Sam. Let's go to
Atlanta taking on Carolina. It's a perfect segue. We just
talked about Kyle Pitts. Who else do you like in
this seemingly positive matchup for the Falcons.
Speaker 5 (27:02):
Yeah, I'm leaving Pennox on the on the bench. However,
Panthers are currently third ranked past dy in regards to
fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks, mostly because teams get ahead
and they run a ton and this is a team
that really uses the running backs a lot because and
that's why Tyler Algier was might take a chance on
me running back in the in the past game. I
(27:24):
have a B grade on Drake London. Get this in
two games last year versus the Panthers ten for one
to eighty seven and two scores and in the other
game six for seventy four yards and a score. He'll
get the majority. J C. Horn, who hasn't allowed to score.
He has a pick, has only allowed fourteen yards in
his coverage through two games on his way to be
(27:46):
in PFF's twenty ranked twenty first cornerback. But Drake London
does get a thirty percent target share and he has
owned the Panthers, so I'm gonna give him a B grade.
If it wasn't for that matchup, I could be convinced
into an A. Otherwise, Ravera Mcloud's on the bench. Darnell
Mooney came back but only had four targets, and he's
also got a tough matchup with Mike Jackson so I
(28:06):
have him on the bench. I think we're gonna see
more out of London and Pitts and mostly the running
game where I give Bijeon apparently wants to be called
Bijon now again, I.
Speaker 4 (28:16):
Know, right, he said his name three times on national
television and he didn't say Bijon. No. No, I think
anything goes at this point.
Speaker 5 (28:25):
Yeah, yeah, he yeah, he he quoted. Yeah, let's go.
Let's move on. Eighth grade. There in two games last year,
Bejon went bananas one hundred and seventy three yards and
two scores, one hundred and five yards and two scores.
He owns them as well. Over to the Carolina side,
Bryce Young's getting a C grade. They did lose two
starters on the line this week, starting guard Robert Hunt
(28:46):
and starting center Austin Corbett.
Speaker 1 (28:48):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (28:48):
And we did just see what Atlanta defense did to
that JJ McCarthy and that vikings O line when they
were a beat up. That said Baker had three scores
against the Falcons in Week one. Bryce Young's last game
against the Falcons, he totaled two hundred and seventy five
yards and five scores. At the end of last year
on this team, five point five dogs at home, they
might be passing a little bit. I'm giving him a
(29:09):
C grade here. I think he's still startable. Hunter Renfro
is getting a C grade clear number two in week
two for this team Week one, remember he was signed
like that week of I know he was in camp
with them, but he might have missed game planning and stuff.
Is His snap percentage jumped a ton in week two,
So C grade there. If Young is throwing a lot
like he has been, He's leading the NFL in pass
(29:30):
and TEBs per game with forty five per game. If
he's throwing that much, there's volume to be had. So
Hunter Renfro gets a C grade. Five red zone targets
by the way, for Hunter Renfro.
Speaker 4 (29:40):
Last Yeah, already amazing five red zone Adam.
Speaker 3 (29:43):
I believe if Adam Thalan ended up staying there.
Speaker 5 (29:45):
Yeah, or Jalen Cocher in two weeks yeah, cooint B
grade on Teto McMillan. AJ Terrell may missed this one
with the hamstring injury weakening the secondary uh Tetro leads
in basically every category for the Panthers nine plus targets
a game, twenty three percent target share, if Terrell is. Oh,
(30:06):
he's gonna get Mike Cues, who's allowed two scores in
two games and a seventy five percent catch aide, it's
a good spot for him. B grade. You could talk
me into an a Jadevian. Sanders is going to get
a C grade. I think it's another high volume young game.
Falcans haven't allowed much, but Sanders has going been good
for two weeks here, the last two weeks with thirty
five and forty nine yards. C grade and chewba Hubbard's
(30:29):
going to get a C grade. To hear it too.
Donald's working in but uh, he gets receiving work and
it's it's it's gonna be an interesting one here. I
don't think he can get quite the amount of yards
and touchdowns with the volume, but he'll get a C
grade here.
Speaker 3 (30:43):
All right.
Speaker 4 (30:43):
When we come back, we'll break continue breaking down matchups,
including La taking on Philadelphia. We've got the Rams coming
in hot, but a stern a stern test against the
Eagles defense.
Speaker 3 (30:57):
Find out on level of optimism for the various Rams players,
including Kyron Williams. When we come back. Fantasy Football Weekly.
Welcome back Fantasy Football Weekly.
Speaker 4 (31:16):
Paul Charchie and Scott Fish and Thor Nistrom with you.
We're breaking down all the matchups from the weekend slate
with letter grades on every player, and we moved to
the Rams taking on the Eagles. Rams passing game was
on fire last week, but a much tougher opponent this
time around as they faced the Eagles.
Speaker 3 (31:35):
What do you think of this passing game?
Speaker 1 (31:37):
Yeah, I do like it in rusting matchup here. You know,
you mentioned the success the Rams had last week against
the Titans. Stafford had twenty one Fantasy points in that game.
And if you look at the two games that the
Rams had against the Eagles last year, Matthew Stafford had
twenty three plus fantasy points in both of them regular
season and then the playoffs. But you mentioned thefficulty of
(32:00):
this matchup sort of in a vacuum for Stafford.
Speaker 6 (32:03):
The Eagles held.
Speaker 1 (32:04):
Dak Prescott and Patrick Mahomes so far to a combined
three hundred and seventy five passing yards with only one
touchdown through two games. So I'm going to give Stafford
a bee here and we'll end up seeing who gets
the best of this matchup here. The two must starts,
of course, Kyron Williams and Puka On the Rams side,
Davante Adams, I give him a B in this one.
(32:26):
Wide receiver sixteen and Fantasy points per game so far,
but he's looked really even better than that, like just
on the field on the tape, top three in both
separation rate and route win rate as well for Adams
this season almost three yards per route run. The Eagles
have allowed the eighth most receiving yards per game to
boundary receivers. So we'll see with Adams, but I think
(32:47):
this is a decent matchup for him. I'm fading the
tight end higbee for the Rams, I would keep him
on the bench. Moving over to the Eagles, Jalen Hurts
and Saquon Barkley, of course, both must starts.
Speaker 6 (32:59):
AJ Brown.
Speaker 1 (33:00):
The interesting case of AJ Brown. Yes, I'm gonna give
him a bee. I know you could take this one
any different direction that you wanted. I'm gonna sort of
split the baby with the bee. AJ Brown, of course,
has struggled so far last week only wide receiver sixty
seven in Fantasy twenty seven receiving yards in that game
one point two yards per route run. But in this one,
(33:21):
you have a Kella Witherspoon out, So Brown I think
is gonna draw plenty of the bust to Manuel Forbes.
Manuel Forbes allowing eighty percent catch right, one hundred and
forty seven passer rating allowed so far this season, so
tentatively optimistic for Brown, will give him a B. DeVonta Smith,
I'm gonna give him a C. Another case of inconsistency
(33:43):
here in fantasy so far wide receiver sixty five and
fantasy points per game for mister Smith. But and this
is probably not the game where he's at least going
to break out. The Rams haven't allowed an opposing receiver
to reach sixty yards against them through the first two games.
I'll give DeVonta a SEE, though I can't give him
a bench grade like I can give for Dallas Goddard,
(34:03):
who hasn't played since the opener because of his knee injury.
He did return to practice, but is questionable for this game.
I would make plans to have another tight end in
your lineup this week.
Speaker 3 (34:14):
Yeah, you know Goddard is the tricky part. On Goddard
who we hope it's going to play, and their optimistic
he's going to play.
Speaker 4 (34:20):
There's so few tight ends out there. You know, it's
there's just nowhere to go.
Speaker 3 (34:24):
And if you you know to me, if you know,
in an ideal world, I could I could wait on
a guy like Goddard, but I probably don't have a
backup option. That's that's any more promising than he is.
Speaker 6 (34:33):
Yeah, just to go to West.
Speaker 4 (34:34):
Yeah, let's go to Las Vegas. Take a Washington, And
I want to start here with an FFW favorite, Scott Fish,
Jacoby Myers. He's been targeted twenty two times in two games,
you know, And what will be interesting is when Brock
Bauers his knee is fully healthy, is that going to
continue with Jacoby Myers? Maybe it's Pete Carroll and Chip
(34:55):
Kelly recognize that Jacoby Myers is really good, and I
feel like he's sort of been languishing in Las Vegas
to now. He primarily runs from the slot that puts
him up against sophomore cornerback Mike Sandrastill. So far this year,
Sandra Still has been worked, giving up a seventy eight
percent completion rate and a touchdown last week to Romeo
Dobbs from the slot. So I like Jacoby Myers at
(35:16):
a B grade here. I just alluded to brock Bowers,
let's go to him in his A grade, assuming that
knee is in good shape. It's a nice matchup against
a defense that just allowed Tucker Kraft to put up
one hundred and twenty four yards in a touchdown. The
Commanders primarily cover their tight ends with their safeties, and
the Commander's safeties as a group ranked thirty first in coverage.
Speaker 3 (35:39):
By Pro Football Focus. So brock Bowers with an A
grade in this one. I'm not going down to Trey
Tucker and Dante Thornton. They just don't get enough targets
and they're not on the field quite enough for my taste.
So those guys will stay on the bench.
Speaker 4 (35:53):
Gino Smith like I like Bauers and Myers to bring
it up upside where I think Geno's a serviceable option
for but just to a C grade if you want
to use him. And then there's Ashton Genty. This is
a tricky spot for him. We'll talk more about him
a little bit later in the show. Currently, running back
twenty seven, he goes up against a good Washington run
(36:14):
defense that ranks number two and runs stuff win rate
number two in Pro Football focuses run defense rankings. You know,
part of the problem here is pass blocking has been
so bad that he may give up some of those
third downs that we wanted him to catch passes on.
And when I roll all this together, I c.
Speaker 3 (36:34):
Grade on Ashton genty Man. I hate it. It doesn't
feel good rolling off the tongue, does it?
Speaker 5 (36:41):
No?
Speaker 3 (36:41):
Jeez?
Speaker 4 (36:43):
You know, maybe he gets a bunch of run by
Pete Carroll here as they try to get him back
on track. But I like Bauers a lot better, and
I like Meyers opportunities better.
Speaker 3 (36:52):
All right, let's go to the Washington side.
Speaker 4 (36:54):
Jayden Daniels is out, Marcus Mariota will be your quarterback
for Washington. That dings everybody a bit, And you know
that's just the reality of our situation. We don't have
the same level of quarterbacking here. Deebo Samuel to this
point has been the best story for Washington. I think
he's out everything to Terry McLaurin to this stage, targets, routes, catches, yards, touchdowns,
(37:17):
everything Samuel's been better on. He works almost entirely from
the slot like he always has throughout his career, where
he's going to be matched up against cornerback Darnay Holmes,
who ranks one hundred and twenty fifth in Pro Football
Focus cornerback rankings. They also use some linebackers and safeties
in there, but none of them have been very good
at defending slot receivers. Last week, Keenan Allen and Lad McConkie,
(37:40):
often running from the slot, combined for ten catches on
hundred and nine yards and a score.
Speaker 3 (37:44):
So I like Deebo Samuel B grade for him. Terry McLaurin.
Speaker 4 (37:47):
Two modest games for him so far really disappointing. And
you know we see this a lot after guys that
have the extended training camp absence. He runs entirely from
the left side of the field. Noah brownually runs from
the right. He's going to be out in this game,
and that puts him exclusively against cornerback Kayu Blue Kelly,
(38:08):
who plays that side of the field. He has only
ever seen one hundred NFL passing snaps at his entire career,
three year journeyman. That's a plus matchup for Terry McLaurin.
And if you think there's a chance for him to
break out of his two game slump, this is it
right here. Be great on Terry McLaurin. Interesting with the
running backs for Washington. So now with Austin Eckler out,
(38:34):
Jeremy McNichols turns into a deep dart throw. He's the
only remaining running back on rocks he can catch at all,
and so an opportunity for him. In Week one against
the Raiders, New England threw to their runners ten times
with eight receptions. So maybe Jeremy McNichols as a deep
dart throw in a C grade for him. Most of
(38:57):
the running work should go through Jacory Krossky. Merriton Austin
echlicks and changed a lot here for Bill since he's
not a receiver, but very promising week one for Jagoriy
Krosky Merrit did nothing in week two, but now I
think there's at an emphasis with Eckler out, so I
think he gets plenty.
Speaker 3 (39:15):
Of work in this game and he comes up with
a C grade.
Speaker 4 (39:18):
Zach Ertz has turned into one of the most reliable
tight end options out there, which you know some of
us expected, some didn't, but I liked him better with
Jayden Daniels, of course, but still able to get to
a C grade here against a very sketchy Raiders tight
end defense.
Speaker 3 (39:34):
C grade on him, Scott.
Speaker 4 (39:37):
Let's see if we can work in Houston taking on
Jacksonville in this game.
Speaker 5 (39:43):
Yeah, so I have a bench grade on c J. Stroud.
Jaguar has allowed the second worst passerway into opposing quarterbacks
that just sixty five point two. They're also second in
the NFL and quarterback knockdowns when you have a really shaky,
bad offensive line, that's probably not a good thing. Through
two games, Stroud is averaging fewer than two hundred yards
and has just two scores. He's not even adding rushing yards.
(40:05):
He's got twenty. I mean he's adding a little bit
in rushing yards twenty five per game, but not enough
to make up for the lack of yards. Bryce Young
only went for one hundred and fifty eight in Week
one and this in ten more pass attempts than CJ.
Stroud is even averaging. So wow, I have CJ on
the bench. I'm still given a B grade to Nico Collins.
(40:26):
Fifty percent catchable target rate for Nico Collins, like half
the balls that come his way are just not catchable.
Nearly a thirty percent target chair though, and a seventy
five percent end zone target chare and forty percent of
air royards, so when he does get them, it's good.
It might be a squeaky wheel game. He's he's getting
a middle of the pack draw against Tyson Campbell, who's
(40:49):
allowed two scores this year. So B grade on Nico Collins.
The only other textan I'm starting is Nick Chubb, who's
had thirteen touches and fourteen touches in the first two weeks,
about four yards per carry, getting just enough volume. The
Jags did hold Chuba Hubbard to fifty seven yards and
Chase Brown to forty seven yards. It's probably just a
volume C here for Nick Chubb. On the other side,
(41:13):
Trevor Lawrence, I'm giving a C grade too. He's second
in the NFL in pass attempts inside the ten. Once
he gets inside the ten, he likes to throw the
ball this year that might come into play. Houston held
Stafford and Mayfield in the mid two hundreds and three
combined touchdowns. That's probably fair for Lawrence here. As Lawrence
is averaging two twenty five and two scores a game.
(41:34):
That feels like a pretty fair, maybe even high stat
line for Trevor Lawrence here. Might take a chance on me.
Wide receiver was Daomi Brown, But I also like Brian
Thomas Jr. I know he's dealing with the wrist injury
and the team said that may have been a factor
in a couple of the drops he had last week,
but he's still got that twenty five plus percent target
share only eleven. Like Nico Collins, only eleven of his
(41:56):
nineteen targets have been catchable. He'll probably see shadow from
Derek Sting, but given the amount of volume he gets,
I'm only putting a B grade on him. I got
a C grade on Travis Hunter his snaps on offense.
Hisnat percentage went down more on defense, but he's still
got six targets eight targets in Week one, and he's
gotten eighty six percent catch rate, twenty percent target chair,
(42:18):
and he's got a good match up against Jalen Petrie,
who has a one P fifteen passer rating against Basiell. Touton,
was your take a chance on me running back? And
I have an A grade for a lot of the
reasons you mentioned for Tooton. I have an A grade
on Travis Etn who leads the NFL in rushing yards
over expectation, and he still gets most of the past
game work even though they're working with quin down a
(42:39):
little bit for that. So you're looking at eighteen to
twenty touches and well over one hundred yards per game
for ETN. I think he still gets similar workload here.
Speaker 4 (42:48):
I keep trying to count out Travis ETN year after year,
and this might be one the year where he really
is pretty special playing healthy. Finally, Travis CTN has has
looked good and I'm happy to need some grow on
that one. When we come back. Three tough questions, see

Speaker 4 (43:57):
Scottfish is at Scottfish, twenty four is at thoor k
U Rock Shark, and I am at Paul Chargie.
Speaker 3 (44:05):
And you'll just have to figure out how to spell
it all right.
Speaker 4 (44:09):
This is a segment we call three tough questions. Play along,
see if you can go three and oh, And we
begin here.
Speaker 2 (44:15):
Tough question number one?
Speaker 3 (44:17):
Are you trading for Las Vegas running back Ashton genty
for seventy five cents on the dollar or are you
just glad you didn't draft him? We begin with Scott Fish.
Speaker 5 (44:29):
Can I go off board to neither? Like, I'm not
trading for seventy five cents on the dollar, and I
did draft him, and I'm still fine with it, and
I'm not happy right now, but I'll be fine later.
It doesn't seem like the offense runs through him like
it does other bellcow backs, you know backs taking that opportunity. Here.
He has eighty one rushing yards. Eighty four rushing yards
(44:51):
are after contacts. He has three receiving yards, but twenty
six receiving yards after the catch, which is a dot
is minus tad. It's it's absolutely ridiculous he'd be if
those were even flat even, he'd be saying at one
hundred and ninety four yards through two games, if if
those were even even the before contact in ZOOE rushing
(45:16):
yards against expectation over expectations second worse than the league.
I know it's all bad, but it is super early
in the season. They will figure. Lots of rookie running
backs have had this similar thing and balled out by
the end of the season. I know we expected immediate
impact and the ADP doesn't match it. I'm still thinking
it's going to come around by end of season.
Speaker 4 (45:37):
All right, Thorpe, are you trading for Las Vegas running
back Ashen dent d for seventy five cents on the
dollar or are you just glad you didn't draft him?
Speaker 1 (45:45):
I would buy him for ninety eight cents on the dollar.
Oh all right, if we can get any small disc
on whatsoever, I'm down. And Scott gave a lot of
the contacts for you know, the first two games obviously
not what we expected, twenty eight among running backs in
PPR points per game, But like Scott mentioned, he's getting
the workload that you were looking for when you when
(46:06):
you gave a high draft pick to Ashton Gent. He's
played eighty four percent of the early down snaps. That
is the fourth highest at the running back position in
the NFL. He's played nearly seventy five I'm sorry, taken
nearly seventy five percent of the Raiders rushing attempts so
far this season. That is also number four in the NFL.
He will figure it out. He will figure out. I
(46:27):
would take him and read draft certainly would take him
in Dynasty. But yeah, any discount whatsoever, give me a call.
Speaker 3 (46:33):
All right, Yeah, we are not panicking on Ashton gent
d He's I understand he's losing snaps as Zamir White
and Dylan Lowby.
Speaker 4 (46:39):
That's not going to continue. I mean, the talent differential
is massive. It's going to come around for gent We're
not gonna panic quite yet. But I would offer. I
would offer offered the discount. I mean, go try to
acquire him. This might be a historic by Low moment
for the next five years on Ashton gent This might
be as cheap as you're going to get him.
Speaker 5 (46:58):
So our whole league charge, that's.
Speaker 3 (47:01):
Right, And I'm not listening because I've got.
Speaker 4 (47:03):
Genty in the home league dude, if you don't have genty,
which is you know, eleven out of twelve listeners don't
have him, let's go see if there's some panic built
into those genty managers right now, and let's go see.
Let's go see what you can get him for. All right,
let's go to the second tough question.
Speaker 2 (47:20):
Tough question number two.
Speaker 3 (47:23):
What's the appropriate level of concern for Omari and Hampton?
Is it none? Is it some?
Speaker 4 (47:28):
Or is it a bowel loosening level of existential dread?
For this one, we go to thor is back to
back rookie running back disappointments from the first round thour
what do you Let's see if you're any different on
Omari and Hampton appropriate level of concern.
Speaker 1 (47:44):
For re draft leagues, I'm going to say some, whereas
for dynasty I would say none. But you have to
be at least a little bit concerned if you have
him in a reed draft league. Less than six PPR
points per game to this point three point one yards
per attempt. We did not expect that, obviously for Amari
and Hampton only three catches so far, which maybe that
(48:04):
would would have been closer to expectation, but has not
scored a touchdown, Yet you saw Nase Harris out there
a little bit more in Week two, the box score
was a little bit deceiving. I will say that the
early down or the early game stuff was definitely in
Hampton's favor, but Najre Harris, of course coming on a
little bit. The other thing, I'm sure you guys are
(48:25):
gonna get into this, the Chargers all of a sudden
becovered like this air raid team that puts the ball
in the air as much as anyone that has usurped
our expectations of what we know of Jim Harbaugh and
Greg Roman offenses. So that embeds some of that doubt
as well. But Omari and Hampton is their guy, would
expect him to get better later in the season. Who knows,
maybe maybe the improved passing is is going to lead
to more touchdown opportunities later in the season when he
(48:47):
gets acclimated. But I'm gonna say some all.
Speaker 4 (48:50):
Right, we have an answer of some Scott appropriate level
of concern for Omari and Hampton the Chargers running back.
Speaker 3 (48:56):
Is it none, is it some? Or is it blowed?
Speaker 5 (49:00):
My answer is some. I know the fumble didn't help.
I know it got credited to Herbert. The right out
of bounds didn't help, but he's still got all the
inside the five work. He got a majority of the
long down and distance, He's got better yards after the catch.
He's forced five missed tackles. Harris is only force one
better routes here, and he sees eight men in the
box twenty six percent rate, far more than than she is.
(49:23):
I think he's gonna turn it around, but for now
it's just some.
Speaker 4 (49:28):
There is some level of concern for Amar and Hampton.
Same level of carries on Monday night as the blind guy.
Speaker 3 (49:35):
That's not what you want to see.
Speaker 2 (49:36):
Now.
Speaker 4 (49:37):
I do think it turns around and potentially this weekend.
This is a Broncos team that you run on, not passed,
so maybe the Chargers make a real effort to get
the running game going here. It's still very early for
Hampton's career. He does need to pass block better, so
that's going to be an issue. We're going to watch
as well, but overall optimistic for Omari and Hampton, but
(49:58):
don't love what we've seen, so there is some level
of concern. By the way, get a moving laterally and
Hampton's got some problems. You know that is a North
South runner, and that's gonna be something I'm gonna keep
watching as well.
Speaker 3 (50:11):
Let's go to our third and final question.
Speaker 2 (50:13):
Tough Question number three?
Speaker 4 (50:15):
Should you drop Kansas City running back Isaiah Pacheco?
Speaker 3 (50:19):
For this one, we begin with Scott Fish.
Speaker 5 (50:22):
Sure, I normally wouldn't, but I think that this qualifies
as what Charge wants to be as a sabotage drop.
Speaker 3 (50:31):
Nobody likes him enough to be a sabotage drop.
Speaker 5 (50:33):
I don't think that he will be picked up immediately
in almost any normal twelve team league, maybe even ten
team leagues, but definitely twelve team leagues. If he gets
dropped out there, he doesn't get a ton of volume.
Hasn't been that They don't need to run and pass
a lot. They don't need a lot of offense because
their defense is so good. Britchard Smith might slowly get
more involved. Kareem Hunt is somehow splitting almost dead even
(50:57):
with touches, so I get it if you do. I
probably wouldn't, but sure, if you want to attempt to
sabotage another team, I think that's the play.
Speaker 4 (51:06):
Thor should you drop out right Kansas City running back
Isaiah Pachecko.
Speaker 1 (51:10):
You know, through two weeks he has proven to us
that he needs to be on benches. I would wait
two more weeks before I would cut him, So I
would just keep him a fix to the bench, right,
unless you desperately desperately needed the roster spot you didn't
have anywhere else to turn, I would try to keep
him on that roster. Really, And I love Fisher's point
about freeing Brushard Smith and maybe the chiefs in a
couple of weeks, maybe you call New Orleans and see
(51:31):
if maybe they want to send Alvin Kamar to a contender.
Speaker 4 (51:34):
That I was just going to say the biggest concern
for me and why I think you can consider dropping
Isaiah Pacheco or I'm just gonna go out and say it.
I would drop Pachecko in park because you're not tempted
to start him.
Speaker 3 (51:46):
By the way, which is a bonus and somebody.
Speaker 4 (51:47):
Else is if there's a trade, Pachecko's dead, and not
only that, imagine Alvin Kamara shows up and here's Pacheco
running poorly, doesn't contribute on special teams, and doesn't catch.
He could be inactive in the near future if there
were a trade. I'm very worried about that. Weirdly, he's
running a lot of routes which he never normally does.
(52:08):
But he's not a skilled pass catcher. Those routes are
gonna start drying up for him. I'm out on Isaiah Pajeco.
I've seen enough and I'm cutting my losses. All right,
Let's go back to some of our matchups, and for
this one, we begin with Thor the New York Jets
taking on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Speaker 3 (52:28):
Jets offense looked brutal last weekend. They'll be without their
starting quarterback, Tyrod Taylor will be starting a quarterback this week.
Speaker 1 (52:35):
Yeah, and you're gonna be keeping mister Taylor on the bench,
Ti God. Oh and you're also because ty Gods, in
this game, you're gonna be keeping every non Garrett Wilson
pass catcher of the Jets on your bench as well.
Let's talk about some guys you can start. Garret Wilson.
You're not going to bench either way. If anyone is
getting any volume here, it's gonna be Garret Wilson. So
obviously you're keeping him in the you know, in your lineup.
(52:57):
Breese Hall, I'm gonna give a grade of B two,
RB twenty three and fantasy points per game. To this point,
he's averaging a ball at sixteen touches ninety one total
yards per game. But this is not an easy matchup.
First off, you have a quarterback's not very accurate, and
so you're gonna have loaded boxes. And then Tampa Bay
they already have a good run defense outside of that,
you know, just in a yeah, fifth fewest rushing yards
(53:20):
per game. But someone's got to get the touches though.
So that's why you know, I'm giving Breeze a B
in this one, but a high variance, high risk type
be in that one for Breeze Haw moving over to
the box. Baker Mayfield, I'm giving them a C in
this game because I'm projecting this to be like a
low scoring kind of grinded out thing where maybe Tampa
uses their run game more there in the second half
(53:42):
because they ain't gonna need to score very much. Mayfield
to this point QB eight and fantasy points per game
playing like classic Baker Mayfield, like back in Oklahoma, scrambling
around everything like that. You're playing great thirty six rushing
yards per game to this point. You know, I mean
some of those times breaking containment stealing some yards, but
that has led to a minor knee issue, which I
(54:03):
don't think is going to be a big deal. But
I'm gonna give him a C in this one. Bucky
Irving I think is about to go off. But yeah,
he's a must start, but this this week he could
be in play to be our top you know, running
back in fantasy. Moving to the pass catchers there, Mike Evans,
I'm gonna give him a C overall. I think he's
he's a good by low candidate in fantasy, but I
(54:24):
don't think this the week he's probably gonna bounce back.
The reason he's a by low is because he's still
playing well even though the stats aren't there. Eighth and
separation rate to this point, but only one point six
yards per role run, averaging about fifty three receiving yards
per game. This one, I think he's going to be
getting sas Gardner who shut down DK Metcalf in Week
one for four targets one reception that one for DK.
(54:49):
I'll give him at a buka a b wide receiver
thirteen in fantasy to this point, three touchdowns in two games,
and this is a better scenario for him than it is.
Speaker 6 (54:58):
Evans, because well Evans draws.
Speaker 1 (55:00):
Sauce Gardner a metag Buka is gonna drop Brandon Stevens,
who's been getting.
Speaker 6 (55:04):
Lit up like a Christmas tree so far.
Speaker 1 (55:06):
Eighty percent catch rate, one hundred and forty five point
four passer rating allowed for mister Brandon Stevens, a metaic Buka,
You were about to have yourself another day.
Speaker 5 (55:14):
Do you know who the last wide receiver to have
two touchdowns in their first two games was, tell me
Johan Dotson.
Speaker 6 (55:22):
No, don't go put that evil into the universe.
Speaker 5 (55:24):
Okay, this is better. The one before him was Martavis Bryant.
Speaker 3 (55:29):
No way, Wow, that's cow wow.
Speaker 5 (55:32):
Okay, thanks for that.
Speaker 6 (55:34):
He just he just blew my mind.
Speaker 1 (55:36):
Kate Otten, I would advocate to keep him on the bench,
but I wanted to bring him up because he's only
averaged zero point four yards per route run to this
point and twelve receiving yards per game. But if someone
out there is super duper desperate for a startuball tight end,
this is a guy that you could potentially give a
shot to as a streamer this week. Because of the
thing of Sauce Gardener on Mike Evans and maybe more
(55:57):
targets going to Iggbuka and then maybe some filtered down
to Kate Aughton. I'm not saying to start him. He
gets a bench grade. But if someone in a desperate
situation could.
Speaker 3 (56:07):
Look at Kate Aughton, Bucky Irving, I like your call,
could be the highest scoring player this week. That is,
he is sitting on a very big game, all.
Speaker 4 (56:16):
Right, Kansas City takes on the Giants. We just I
just got done telling you that as far as I'm concerned,
I'm dropping Isaiah Pachecko outright. So obviously I'm not giving
him a letter grade here. He's got a bench grade.
Both he and Kareem Hunt look awful to my eyes.
In full PPR points, Isaiah Pachecko's given you four and
four points. If you have a scoring system that is
(56:37):
not that generous you're getting, You've gotten like two and
two points out of Pacheco right now. Kansas City ranks
twenty eighth and rushing attempts. Now, the Giants are the opponent.
They're a bad run defense, But at this point, I
don't think it even matters. I'm not risking the bounce
back for those guys this week let's go to the
passing game. Still a big fan, Xavier Worthy might go
(56:59):
in this one. He is a game time decision. You're
gonna want to watch that all the way up to
Sunday if he plays on his dislocated shoulder.
Speaker 3 (57:07):
The problem with playing on.
Speaker 4 (57:09):
A dislocated shoulder is they got to throw short balls
to you so that your quarterback can hit you in
the numbers because you can't extend the arm. So Worthy,
even though he's got great speed, I don't think they're
going to throw to him deep downfield because the extension
with the arm on the dislocated shoulder is not very easy,
and you can't just throw balls right into the numbers
when you're throwing thirty yards downfield. So I think Worthy
(57:31):
is just a C grade even if he's able to go.
Speaker 3 (57:34):
Here.
Speaker 4 (57:36):
Hollywood Brown a B grade. I like him better Here
he runs about half of his routes from the slot.
Easy matchup against the cornerback that has allowed the most
receptions of any cornerback in the league, Andrew Phillips. He's
already given up eighteen receptions in his coverage, and here
(57:57):
comes Hollywood Brown running half his spots out of the
That's a great opportunity for him. Staying with the passing game,
Travis Kelcey just six catches in two games. His eight
out is just seven yards. That's not great. His separation
is way down. And that touchdown last week that the
well the pass to the end zone that was intercepted,
(58:18):
and Travis Kelsey didn't even bother running down after the
play to try to make the tackle.
Speaker 3 (58:23):
He looked disinterested.
Speaker 4 (58:25):
Man, I just don't like the vibes off Travis Kelcey
right now. Fortunately, the Giant stephen Is defense has given
up a touchdown to Zach Ertz in Week one and
then a nine cas seventy eight yard day to Jake
Ferguson in week two, so Kelsey's still startable.
Speaker 3 (58:39):
But man, I don't like what I've seen so far.
C grade on him, and that leaves us with Patrick Mahomes.
Speaker 4 (58:46):
I've got to be a B and a C grade
so far between various receiving options. I've got a B
grade on him after getting rosa by Dak Prescott last week,
New York allowing the fourth most passing yards Prescott through
fifty two passes against New York, and I think we're
gonna get a lot of volume here too, because the
Chiefs running game is not good, so Mahomes is a
(59:07):
safe start for abee Over on the giant side, Let's
start with the running game because we saw a major
shift last week. Cam Cam Scataboo ends up getting a
majority of the work. He had more snaps, more rushing attempts,
more routes run than Tyrone Tracy, and Scataboo is a
(59:29):
sneaky good receiver.
Speaker 3 (59:30):
Scott.
Speaker 4 (59:31):
How many college receptions did he have last year? Cam
Scattaboo twelve? Now, wasn't it forty five? Wasn't it forty five?
Didn't we just talk about this on Wednesday night?
Speaker 3 (59:46):
I thought we did.
Speaker 5 (59:48):
I was being a little facetious because you were talking
about how good he was.
Speaker 3 (59:53):
Kansas City a good run defense. Last week.
Speaker 4 (59:56):
It took Tae Kwan Barkley twenty two carries to get
to just eighty eight yards in one score. Now, in theory,
Tyron Tracy, a converted receiver, ought to be catching more passes.
But Kansas City's only allowed twenty four receiving yards to
running backs.
Speaker 3 (01:00:11):
All season. That's it. That's a great number. I think
that's fourth best in the league.
Speaker 4 (01:00:15):
So here's where I am on scatabow with Tracy Scatobo's
getting all the touchdowns, he's getting more work. I got
him at a B grade in this game, Tyrone Tracy
C grade on the presumption he's gonna get enough work
and enough receptions to end up getting it into like
ten PPR points. Hopefully that would be enough for him.
Let's go to the passing game. Malik Neighbors a grade
despite a tricky matchup with Kansas City's best cornerback, Trent McDuffie,
(01:00:37):
who they will do some shadowing with.
Speaker 3 (01:00:39):
It's not impossible matchup, though.
Speaker 4 (01:00:41):
McDuffie did a give up a touchdown in his coverage
in Week one, and Malak Neighbors obviously can get pelted
with targets like he was last week when Dale Robinson
a huge hit by Matt Harrison last week did a
fantastic job with that. This week, Robinson is going to
see coverage mostly from safety Chamari Connor, who goes into
the slot where Robinson plays. He has allowed one hundred
(01:01:05):
percent of the passes in his coverage to be completed
one Dal Robinson another possibility for a good game here,
and he comes in with a C grade.
Speaker 3 (01:01:14):
Russell Wilson C grade spots starter here.
Speaker 4 (01:01:17):
I don't love against the Eagles in general, but I'm
sorry the Chiefs in general. But neighbors and Robinson good
enough here that if you're in a pinch, you could
go up with Russell Wilson in a you a one
time like two quarterback superflex style option. All right, let's
take a break. When we come back, we've got another
(01:01:39):
block of matchups with you, including Scott Fitch breaking down
the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Speaker 3 (01:01:44):
He already told us he likes Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 4 (01:01:46):
Which of his receivers could be beneficiaries?
Speaker 2 (01:01:49):
Is it?
Speaker 4 (01:01:50):
Finally, John hus Smith times find out when we come
back to Fantasy Football Weekly. Welcome back Fantasy Football Weekly.
Paul Charchie and Scott Fish thor A Nystrom with you.
(01:02:11):
Another block of matchups here, beginning with Scott Fish. Pittsburgh
takes on New England. As we mentioned heading into the break, Eric,
you like Aaron Rodgers and for good reason, this New
England secondary has been bad.
Speaker 3 (01:02:23):
Which of his receivers do you like in this game?
Speaker 5 (01:02:26):
So I have an A grade on DK Metcalf if
Christian Gonzalez does not go, If he does go, I'm
gonna drop it down to a bee. But remember Christian
Gonzalez has a hammy issue and that could affect him
in trying to shadow DK Metcalf. But I have an
A grade on Metcalf for now. Leads the NFL in
yards after the catch per reception eleven point one yards
(01:02:48):
per catch after the reception, which is it's just crazy
this Pidgriots and Steelers in this game are tied for
dead last with thirteen point five yards allowed per reception,
so there might be a lot of passing in this game.
I have a C grade on Calvin Austin three. I
disappeared a bit after a decent Week one, but he
was still the main outside guy, played ninety two percent
(01:03:09):
of the snaps, still second in targets. If Gonzalz doesn't go,
it's you know, even more wheels up because that secondary
will be more depleted. But if not, he'll get Carlton Davis,
which might be a little bit of a tough draw.
But it's still a C grade on Calvin Austin, John
and Pat I don't know what to do with him.
Charge now do you want fifteen to thirty five yards
and to hope for a score.
Speaker 3 (01:03:30):
No, I don't.
Speaker 5 (01:03:31):
If you want to flip a coin between which one
is gonna get the touchdown, that's what you're gonna get.
Like they're only throwing at the tar the tight ends
eight times per game and they're splitting them up super even.
So I'm both on the bench, but you know one's
gonna score and it's gonna be annoying. Jalen Warren gets
a B grade here. He's getting most of the work,
especially inside the five, and the ten pats are susceptible
(01:03:53):
to the pass against running backs. Eight Chan destroyed him
last week in that past game role eight for ninety
two and a score, and he does have a higher
target per route reign that gain Well and Aaron Rodgers
said just a couple of days ago that he wants
to get more pass game work to Jalen Warren, mainly
after that sixty two yard or where he broke four
tackles or whatever. So B grade on Jalen Warren Kenneth
(01:04:18):
Gainwell I do have on the bench, But I understand
a dart throw here just because of how New England
play pays plays pass catching running backs and the potential
volume in this game. But I do have a bench
grade on him over on the New England side, Steelers
are bottom five against fantasy passers, and they may be
without Alex Highsmith, Deshaun Elliott, and Joey Porter Junior. Joey
(01:04:40):
Porter Junior is actually out, so maybe with out of
all of them. So I gave I gave Jake May
a bee. I could be talked into an A, but
I'm gonna leave it at a B for now. He's
averaging two hundred and forty five yards passing and twenty
one rushing attacking on a couple scores per game. Pittsburgh
allowed two hundred and fifty plus and three scores to
fields in Week one, two d and ninety five scores
(01:05:00):
and two hundred and ninety five yards and two scores.
That darnold last week. You know what, I'm gonna flip
it to an A. I'm gonna flip it to an
A and gives. I think he's gonna send it all
over though, So I'm gonna give kay Shan Booty a
C grade. Plays most of the snaffs, most of the routes,
gets a third of the air yards. He's gonna see
the accommodation Darius play and Brandon Echoes depending on where
(01:05:24):
he lines up. They're both positive matchups and impossible shootout.
You could even talk me into a be there, but
he disappeared so much last week, just had the one
touchdown score that it's tough to give him any more
than a se Stefan Diggs, playing a part time role,
had five five of the wide nine wide receiver targets
last week. C grade because he's only playing half the
(01:05:45):
snaps he's not getting he's playing fifty five percent of
the time, but when he's out there, he gets plays
and he's probably gonna be going up a Steelers against
the Steelers TV that's got one hundred plus past rating against.
I got Tomorrio Douglas on the bench. He'll get Jalen
Ramsey and he disappeared last week. Hunter Henry splitting more
and more with Austin Hooper and Hooper he did have
(01:06:07):
the Loan red zone target, but h Pittsburgh has been
good against tight ends this year and even going back
to last year, so I have him on the bench.
Rmandre Stevenson is the only running back I'm giving a
grade yes year A grade. The Steelers will likely be
without those without three defensive linemen on top of the
three secondary people and just got crushed by both Kevin
(01:06:30):
and Kenneth Walker and Breese Hall. In the first two
weeks of the season. Ramandre himself coming off a huge
one hundred and forty two dr day that includes five receptions.
The Steelers have allowed the second most yards to running back.
Trevian h isn't getting the work. He's just not getting
enough to be a starting running back yet.
Speaker 4 (01:06:50):
And for Henderson, Travion Henderson and by the way, talk
about getting a bad read by preseason action. I mean
they're like, this is this is the ultimate example. He
was in for two pass protection plays and Trayvon Henderson
ended up with a penalty on one and he gave
up a sack on the other. I mean, that is
how you don't see the field right there. And then
(01:07:13):
remondreate with a beautiful long catch and a route that
would have been his had he not already given up
his opportunities to be on the field. Formandre, that's my guy.
You know, we get plenty of things wrong here, Fire
up the Peacock. We get plenty of things wrong on
this show. But when Trayvon Henderson was throwing berserk in
the preseason, several of us here on Fantasy Football Weekly,
we're saying, whoa, whoa, whoa. You watch, there's gonna be
(01:07:34):
a lot of Remandre still in this game and then
and in this season, and there was all right, let's
let's move on to our our next matchup, which is, Hey,
this one is this is Thorn Nice from Denver taking
on the Los Angeles Chargers. If it's okay with you, Thor,
I'd like to start with the running game. I don't
(01:07:54):
think we're gonna see a lot from JK.
Speaker 3 (01:07:56):
Dobbin or.
Speaker 4 (01:07:57):
Sorry, I don't think we're gonna see a lot from
r J Harvey in this game. I think this is
going to be an another Dobbins game.
Speaker 6 (01:08:03):
I'm totally with you. Yeah, for me, you have to
leave r J.
Speaker 1 (01:08:06):
Harvey on the bench until we get some sort of
solidified idea about his usage and his work great going forward.
Until then, you're gonna have to he's gonna have to
hit a home run for you to returning fantasy value
on him. So yeah, I would keep ar J Harvey
on the bench if you can. This week, JK. Dobbins,
I'm giving a B two JK. Dobbins in his revenge
spot here against the Chargers RB fourteen and Fantasy points
(01:08:27):
per game so far for Dobbins. That's through two games
against the Titans and Colts. Granted, Dobbins has thirty carries
on hundred and thirty nine yards, two touchdowns given they
thrown in the ball at three times, but not much there,
but just under fifteen PPR points in each of those games.
So I'm gonna give him a bee. Courtland Sutton, I'm
giving him a bee. I think this is a decent
(01:08:48):
bounce back opportunity for a guy that last week had
four targets and only one catch against the Colts. But
I thought it was so interesting that Sean Payton to
the media this week set and I quote, it's important
to get Sutton the ball, and this was the Yes,
it is the exact quote from Sean Payton quote. I
think it's important on third down, I think it's important
in the red zone, and I think it's important throughout
(01:09:10):
the game plan. So for whatever it's worth, Sutton head
of Yeah, well.
Speaker 4 (01:09:14):
Is he is a notorious liar, Sean Payton, so you
know there is I like the for what it's worth
part but he's right, He's absolutely right.
Speaker 1 (01:09:24):
Yeah, so I do expect more targets here for Sutton.
The course, Troy Franklin was might take a chance on me,
guy bo Nicks. Meanwhile, I'm gonna give him a c.
He struggled to this point. He's has the lowest PFF
grade of NFL quarterbacks by far. Accuracy has been off
to this point twentieth and catchable target rate and not
a great matchup here against the defense at Gino Smith
(01:09:45):
and a blender charges have allowed the second fewest yards
per attempt this so far this year. But at least
Khalil Mack is out and maybe you get some scrambles
for mister Nicks mentioned. I would have Harvey on the bench.
I would have Marvin Mims on the bench. I would
have Evan Ingram, who's on a milk carton on the bench.
Speaker 3 (01:10:01):
I think even yeah, I think yeah, I think he's
not playing Ingram.
Speaker 1 (01:10:05):
He's gonna put up this, Yeah, same stat line. He
would have Chargers court moving over to the Chargers justin
Herbert has moved into must art category, with the Chargers
throwing more than any other team in the league, which
I still can't wrap my head around, h O'marion Hampton.
I'm gonna give O'marion Hampton a see. We talked a
lot about him earlier, so I won't, you know, go
super duper in depth. But basically, usage has been good,
(01:10:27):
production hasn't, but the volume is still going to be there.
So I got to give him a See the charters receivers,
I'm curious what you guys think about this.
Speaker 6 (01:10:35):
I went back and forth for a while. I gave
him all c's.
Speaker 1 (01:10:38):
Then I'm like, maybe I shouldn't do that, Maybe I
should should stick to one. Anyway, I so I switched
it up. Here, give two of them bes, and I
give one of them a bench. I feel like I
had to fade one of them. So one of the
guys I give a bee to is Lad McConkie. And
it's crazy to me that the Chargers have become an
air Ray team. But Lad McConkie's disappointing wide receiver thirty
eight and fantasy points per game so far for McConkie,
(01:10:58):
and not the best matchup. Of course, Denver has allowed
the seventh fewest PPR points per target to slot receivers.
But I do think that mcconkey's is in line here
for a better game because he ain't gonna be Certan's
not gonna be on him basically as the factor there.
Keenan Allen is also the guy where him and McConkie
will switch in between boundary and the slot. The Chargers
have gotten the ball into the hands of their wide
(01:11:19):
receivers more than any NFL team through two weeks, so
that needs to be mentioned. No receiver has scored against
Denver Broncos, though in two games. Should mostly avoid Patrick
Surtan in this game, so I'm gonna give him a
be in a passing offense. It's been really good. The
guy that I'm gonna fade is Quinton Johnson, who I'm
almost remiss to say it because he's been so good
the first three games one hundred and fifty receiving yards,
(01:11:41):
three touchdowns through two games that obviously been fantasy productive.
But I think he's gonna drop Patrick Curtan the most
by far of any of those three guys. So I'm
gonna give Quinton Johnson the bench.
Speaker 4 (01:11:50):
Greade YEP, agreed, and Johnson's been great three touchdowns so far,
as you mentioned, But the Certan matchup worries me Johnson
plays exclusively on the outside, that's cir tan Terrrit and
if it's not him, it's Riley Moss on the outside.
Speaker 3 (01:12:02):
He's really good too. So you know there's nowhere to go.
Speaker 4 (01:12:05):
Whereas McConkie and Keenan Allen, they run from the slot
a lot, so they've just got an easier pathway to
a good game. Let's go to Cincinnati taking on Minnesota.
On the Cincinnati side, I already told you Jake Browning
was might take a chance at me quarterback, and so
I must like his receivers. Jamar Chase obvious a start.
Nothing changes with Jake Browning. And if you're Jake Browning
(01:12:28):
like in the last game, why not if you're gonna
get thrust in action, why don't just keep throwing the
ball to Jamar Chase. That's what I would do too,
Really smart. T Higgins is also an A grade in
this one. The Vikings, you might want to watch whether
or not Andrew van Ginkel their their past rushing edge
is going to be able to start with this one.
Harrison Smith their safety also a question mark. A lot
(01:12:50):
of that would change between T Higgins being an A
or a B grade.
Speaker 1 (01:12:53):
Here.
Speaker 4 (01:12:53):
They will be without starting cornerback Jeff Okuda, which might
be auditioned by subtraction, but a Lossvertheless, the Vikings have
three healthy cornerbacks on roster. I don't think I've ever
seen that before. I feel like this is a really
nice matchup for T Higgins, who's six foot four. He
is a half foot taller than any Viking cornerback. Byron Murphy,
(01:13:17):
Isaiah Rodgers. That's those jump balls for T Higgins are
gonna be very winnable here. He gets an A grade.
I love the prospects of Chase Brown bouncing back in
a big way. Here's your by low candidate, your last
chance to get a discount on Chase Brown, whose fantasy
managers might be rattled after two dud games. But Minnesota
(01:13:39):
has seen the most running back rushes in the league,
and they've given up the most running rushing yards to
running backs. And he's also a good receiver. He'll chip
in some help there. I think this is no other
Bengal has a rushing attempt just Chase Brown. I like
his prospects A grade for him as well, So I've
(01:13:59):
got a bump rolling around eight grades for the Bengals
Viking side. To me, the worries are less about Carson
Wentz and more, although you can make a case that
there should be worries there too, more about missing your
starting center Ryan Kelly, and whether or not left tackle
Christian Darisaw is going to try to come back from
his first game back off of tourny acl last year
(01:14:22):
because his backup, Justin's school is out and it falls
apart after him. So this is a really tricky spot
for this offensive line. We're going to watch that as
it shapes up to kickoff. Justin Jefferson comes in with
a B grade. They've dialed back his usage so much
trying to keep JJ McCarthy from having to go out
(01:14:43):
and throw his arm out of socket as a young
rookie that jay Justin Jefferson is thirty sixth than wide
receiver targets so far.
Speaker 3 (01:14:50):
That's it for a superstar receiver.
Speaker 4 (01:14:53):
Justin Jefferson should not be thirty thirty sixth than wide
receiver targets.
Speaker 3 (01:14:58):
Right in three six and anything, great point, great point.
Speaker 4 (01:15:02):
Carson Wentz comes in, I don't think he'll get I
don't think Jefferson gets any less used because he almost can't.
Jefferson runs from everywhere on the field. He could see
shadow covers from Dax Hill, especially with Cam Taylor britt
out in the secondary for the Bengals. Now, Dax Hill
is the best of the Bengals cornerbacks, but he's already
allowed fifteen receptions, second most in the league.
Speaker 3 (01:15:24):
So it's not a shutdown assignment.
Speaker 4 (01:15:26):
You're still starting Jeffers justin Jefferson, but with all these
moving parts. I only have a B grade on him.
Staying with the passing game, TJ. Howkinson's the only the
guy that you care about. I know thor you and
I thought Hockinson would be pelted with targets from a
young JJ McCarthy. That is not materialized yet. The poultry
volume is very worrisome. He's twenty fourth among tight ends
(01:15:49):
in routes run and twenty sixth sixth then targets.
Speaker 1 (01:15:52):
He's been dropping passes, been missing chips off the line,
allowing free rusher back. I don't know.
Speaker 6 (01:15:57):
TJ.
Speaker 1 (01:15:57):
Hawkins in the last game against the Falcons was it
just wasn't a bad fantasy game. I was a bad
game to watch on tape.
Speaker 3 (01:16:05):
It was. I still have a C grade on him.
Speaker 4 (01:16:07):
Here in part because Aaron Jones is out, and that
means that those routes in the flat that Aaron Jones
would have had, they might choose t. J. Hockinson to
go leak into the flats instead, So I'm optimistic about that,
but he also might be asked to block more because
the offensive line situation for the Vikings. So really just
the C grade on Hockinson here. The Bengals did get
(01:16:28):
rocked by the Browns tight ends in Week one, so
there is a ray of hope there for Hockinson with
the C grade. Last guy I'm gonna mention is Jordan Mason.
Aaron Jones out. As I mentioned, Mason could be looking
at twenty carries in this game. His Vegas line is
eighteen and a half carries. Again, factor in the state
(01:16:48):
of the Vikings offensive line with Jill learn more about
closer to kickoff. Bengals have allowed the second most fantasy
points to running backs, so Jordan Mason could be sitting
on a good game. A lot of that they have
have been through the air and Bason doesn't catch much,
but a nice opportunity for Mason anyway. We'll be back
with more Fantasy Football Weekly last segment coming up. Next
(01:17:15):
final segment Fantasy Football Weekly, Paul Jarchi and Scott Fish
throw Nystrom with you. This is a segment, but we
like to start with premature speculation. This is where we
give you guys to pick up now that other people
will be trying to pick up next week, and they're
already on your roster.
Speaker 3 (01:17:37):
We begin with Scott Fish.
Speaker 5 (01:17:39):
Yeah, I'm going with Woody Marx, who passed Pierce on
the depth chart. Damian Pierce, that is sorry. Charge looked
pretty good last week in his limited role, but his
snaps and touches and routes all more than doubled from
the previous week. He's starting to get going, and we
don't know how long Nick Chubb can maintain that starter's role.
Speaker 3 (01:18:00):
All right, let's go to thorn Eistrom your premature speculation player.
Speaker 1 (01:18:03):
If Titans wide receiver elk Io Manor is still available
in your league, change that right now and pick him up.
Cam Ward loves Iomnor. Iomner leads all rookie receivers with
the twenty three point two target share. He's at at
least six targets in both games. I still don't understand
how Iomanner felled a round four in April, id them
round two on my board at Compton to Braylen Edwards
(01:18:25):
a little blast from the pass there. Late bloomer from
Canada was Iomannor forty percent college dominator rating in a
ninety seven percentile size of justed athlete. He's gonna be good.
Cam Ward loves him.
Speaker 3 (01:18:36):
DeAndre Swift has been bad and change coming in Chicago.
Things of the wheels have already come off through two weeks.
Speaker 4 (01:18:43):
It feels like and if something's going to change in
that backfield, Kyle Manungai is probably the winner of that opportunity.
Roshawn Johnson last week was healthy and only played special teams.
It looks like Kyle manong guys the next guy up
and change could be coming.
Speaker 1 (01:18:57):
George Swedland, Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:19:00):
Fo two weeks in a row and then Manongay two
weeks in a row. Wonga, you had.
Speaker 3 (01:19:06):
Used him last week, that was the better time to
pick him up. But go get Kyle Mnungay now if
he's still available. And tip of the hat to you
for that one. Although it hasn't been proven right quite yet.
Scott Arizona is taking on San Francisco.
Speaker 5 (01:19:19):
Yeah, I have I'm starting over here on the passing
inside for Arizona Kyler Murray, I have a B grade
with He's tacking on thirty plus rushing yards in both games.
In his two games against the foty Niners last year,
he averaged two hundred and nineteen passing yards, but fifty
three rushing yards and six total touchdowns in those two games.
Is his passing yards have been averaged this year. Foury
(01:19:41):
Nards held down Rattler and Darnold. But I mean, I
don't know that those are the best comparisons for Kyler.
I think Carlo will have a better game B grade there.
Marvin Harrison Junior just so much volume, twenty percent target
Cherry's out there all the time, a third of the
air yards, half the end zone targets. He gets an
advantageous matchup against Renardo Green, who ranks one to twelve
out of one hundred and forty one cornerbacks with a
(01:20:03):
forty five point seven coverage grade, but he has the
ability to dot it any time. So I'm just gonna give
him a BI. I mean, he had the same amount
of targets and targets share the last two games and
very different results. So it's it's weird how that happens.
Automatic a on Trey McBride. I don't even have to
bother with him. James Connor gets a C grade. However, Yeah,
(01:20:25):
San Francisco defense held Walker and Charbonnet down for the
most part in week one, seventy one yards and a
score on twenty five touches, which is like, that's less
than three yards per touch. Kamara did have one hundred
and eight one hundred and twenty yards last week, but
it took twenty seven touches to get there. The problem
is the Cardinals are getting twenty two combined touches per game.
(01:20:47):
They're not giving a lot of running back touches, and
Benson is now taking seven to ten of those. Although
I will say in watching the game, it's a lot
more spelling him than him actually taking a full role there. Yeah,
the view of it is different than the false stats.
Look like I have Trey Benson on the bench. Over
to the San Francisco side, Mac Jones gets a C grade. Here.
(01:21:11):
Party has been limited and is very doubtful or very
unlikely to play at Cornishanahan. The Cardinals maybe down three cornerbacks.
Radler did two hundred and fourteen and no scores. But
last week Bryce Young went for three hundred and twenty
eight and three scores. Mac Jones threw it thirty nine
times last week. He can get some good yardage out
(01:21:31):
of this, maybe some score. C grade if Juwan Jennings goes.
He played fall last week, but he hasn't practiced this week.
He's got a new ankle injury on top of the shoulder.
If he goes, I'm gonna give him in piece pearsall
B grades. If he does not go, I'm gonna bump
pearsall to an A. If Piersaw there's so many cornerbacks injured.
(01:21:53):
Max Meltain's injured, Will Johnson's injured, so he might see
Garrett Wilson. Garrett Williams, who's got his seventy five percent
catch right against and over one hundred plus pass rate,
has allowed two scores in the first two weeks. Jake
Tanjis might be a C grade if Juwan Jennings doesn't go,
because it's a good matchup and tight ends have lit
them up two weeks in a row. I'm not gonna
(01:22:14):
start him unless Jennings misses, though Christian McCaffrey automatic A grade.
Speaker 4 (01:22:19):
All right, thor you told us you like Spencer Ratlers,
you take a chance with me, quarterback. And now he
goes up against Seattle. Which of his receivers do you like?
If you like Spencer Rattler.
Speaker 1 (01:22:29):
I like two of his pass catchers. We'll start with
Chris o'lave, who I'm giving a B grade too. The
Saints offense, interestingly, has been playing up tempo through the
first two games and then gives some more volume to
some of those skill guys. Olave, for his part, has
twenty two targets through two games, thirty one percent targets here,
number ten in the NFL. Right now, he is Spencer
Ratler's safety blanket from the slot. So we're gonna give
(01:22:50):
him a beat. And speaking of guys that Spencer Ratler loves, juwan,
jeez my gosh. Yeah, Fantasy's tight end two to this point,
and I think Ratler is gonna look his way even
more in this game. The Seahawks have allowed the second
fewest yards to opposing wide receivers in the NFL, but
Seattle has allowed the fourth most Fantasy points per game
to opposing tight ends. This is another big game script
(01:23:11):
here coming for Juwan Johnson, Rashi Chiahat, I'm gonna advise
you to keep him on the bench because Seattle's defense
has aforementioned been really good against opposing wide receivers. For me,
this one is olave or nothing. And then Elvin Kamara.
I give him a BE running back fifteen in fantasy.
This is a weird matchup for him. Seattle's very good
against the run, but not so good against receiving running backs.
(01:23:34):
The Seahawks have not allowed an explosive run yet this season.
They've allowed the eleventh fewest rushing yards, but Seattle has
given up the most receiving yards to opposing running backs
so far. Moving over to the Seattle side, Sam Donald,
I have him with a C. He's quarterback thirty two
and fantasy points per game so far. The Saints have
an average pass defense. I do think the Saints can
(01:23:54):
score some points in this game, though, incentivizing some more
passing volume from Seattle to hopefully make Donald usable at
least in super flex leagues. Kenneth Walker, I'm giving him
a BE. With Zach Sharboney doubtful and likely out. This
is going to be the Walker show Walker last week
against the Steelers, thirteen carries for one hundred and five
yards and a touchdown. He also had one catch, a
(01:24:15):
huge bounce back for him after that the disappointment in
the opener against San Francisco. Walker's eighty two point five
PFF rushing grade this season is number two among all
NFL running backs, and New Orleans allows almost five rushing
yards per game.
Speaker 3 (01:24:29):
They have the three let's let's go A. Let's go
an A grade on Kenne.
Speaker 1 (01:24:32):
Let's let's go yeah. Yeah, we're bumping him doing a
Jackson Smith and jig, BUTA is a must start as
well this week. And then Cooper Cup, I'm gonna give
him a huge bounce back last week against the Steelers,
were Cup cut seven of nine targets for ninety yards.
He was wide receiver twenty one in Fantasy. The Saint
secondary has allowed the fifth most PPRT points per target
(01:24:54):
to perimeter wide receivers this year, and Cup is playing
about half of his snaps on the boundary.
Speaker 4 (01:25:01):
Which I didn't think Cup would play, like any snaps
on the boundary. I'm I'm really surprised.
Speaker 1 (01:25:05):
And I kind of have to though, right like, because
of how a few boundary receivers they have on that roster.
Speaker 3 (01:25:11):
Yeah, I'm with you on that.
Speaker 4 (01:25:12):
Seattle maybe out three cornerbacks or is it three members
of their secondary that maybe missing in this game?
Speaker 3 (01:25:19):
Saints.
Speaker 4 (01:25:20):
Saints might be a little scary in this one. Saints
might be scary in this one. I think they can
put a fight. Honestly, I do too. Yeah, I do too.
If you're in a survivor league, I'd show some caution there,
all right. The Monday night game, it's Detroit against Baltimore.
Can I just just say start everybody and just walk
away and we can end the show two and a
half minutes early. Maybe maybe we should do that.
Speaker 3 (01:25:41):
I'm on Rosse Brown and Jamir Gibbs A grades obviously.
Speaker 4 (01:25:46):
I don't think we need to expand on those two.
Let's talk about Sam Laporta.
Speaker 3 (01:25:49):
He's been lightly used so far, but the Ravens have
allowed the second most tight end yards ninety three per game.
Get this.
Speaker 4 (01:25:59):
Tight ends have been tar get seventeen times against the
Ravens sixteen catches. That's a great opportunity for Sam Laporta.
A grade for him as well. David Montgomery was Thors
take a chance on me running back, and I like
Jared Goff. Ravens got rocked by Josh Allen a week one.
They shut down Joe Flack on Week two. But obviously
the Lions are much closer to the Bills offense than
(01:26:21):
the Browns. And if I like all these I got
all these A grades littered around, I gotta like Jared
Goff as well, who I've got a B grade on
Isaac Tesla two of the best two catches to ever
start a career, but it's his only two catches and
he's barely on the field for Baltimore. Lamar Jackson's an
obvious A grade. Derrick Henry is gonna get the bounce
back game. He did nothing last week, but the Lions
(01:26:43):
have allowed rushing touchdowns in both games, although last week's
touchdown was in garbage time only, but still they've given
up touchdowns at both games. Hey guys, let's watch Dereck
Henry's fumbling. He has fumbled in both games. And I'm
not suddenly gonna call him out of nowhere fumbler, but
let's just watch that and keep an eye on that.
Probably nothing but something to keep an eye on as
(01:27:04):
we look forward. Zay Flowers has been fantastic, very highly used,
a whopping thirty seven percent targets per route run ratio.
Speaker 3 (01:27:13):
It's hard to get a read on.
Speaker 4 (01:27:15):
This Detroit's secondary because the Packers didn't bother throwing against
him in a blowout in Week one, and then the
Bears rolled up good numbers in garbage time in week two.
But Jay Flowers has been a huge part of this
offense and I love his matchup against Karrion Arnold, who
has allowed the most passing yards in his coverage of
any receiver in the league. So Zay Flowers coming back
(01:27:35):
with an A grade and the last player who needs
mentioning Mark Andrews disaster to start the season with one
catch and one catch in the two games, and Isaiah
likely could come back, which would make things even worse
for him here. No tight end has more than two
catches against the Lions all year, and we're putting Mark
Andrews on the bench.
Speaker 3 (01:27:55):
That is a tough spot.
Speaker 4 (01:27:57):
Scott Fish, great job today, thor you two. This has
been a ton of fun. Thanks for the technical guidance
to Robbie Rosenhaus as well, and we will be back
next week for more Fantasy Football Weekly. We will talk
to you, then everybody, best of luck in week three.
Speaker 3 (01:28:11):
We'll talk to you in a week. Bye bye,
