Speaker 1 (00:01):
Time now for Fantasy Football Weekly from iHeartRadio, your weekly
source for the nation's best fantasy speculation and advice. Now,
along with the guys from dat leagues dot com, here's
your host, Paul Jargon.
Speaker 2 (00:19):
Well give you another edition of Fantasy Football Weekly. I
am Paul Georgy and my co hosts today are Matt
Harrison and Kent Wyrock. Welcome back to the show. Guys,
we've missed you. It's been a little while. Killow, good afternoon. Hey,
ready for some more football. Let's get it Vikings, yest.
And related to that, as the Vikings play the Steelers
(00:42):
in Dublin, we will hear from our Dublin correspondent for
the very first time in the history of this show.
Out Steely O Day Folly O'Day walk. That guy, well,
it's interesting. We found him in a Dublin gutter between
shifts of his two will maybe learn more about that,
(01:02):
But it turns out that he really knows his.
Speaker 3 (01:04):
Fantasy football Julie O.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
Day, and he's going to help guide us through the
letter rankings for all of the Vikings and the Steelers,
just like we'll do for fourteen other matchups. We'll give
you all the player grades. We'll give you nine players
upon whom you can take a chance. We'll answer three
tough questions and give you a tight end specific edition
of premature speculation. All of that coming on Fantasy Football Weekly.
(01:29):
Let's dive into the matchups. We got fifteen matchups to
get through in two hours, and we begin with the
Chargers taking on the Giants.
Speaker 4 (01:37):
Matt Yeah, oh, Marion Hampton right off the bat, he's
going to get an A grade here. Naji Harris done
for the season with the achilles injury last week, and
Hampton just took over twenty five touches one hundred and
twenty nine total yards in a score in his first
true start as a bell cow. He gets a soft
landing spot in the Giants, a team that's allowed five
point one yards per carry and the fifth most rushing
(01:59):
yards per game to a post backs. I don't think
Hassan Haskins is involved that much, but he's probably next up.
So Hampton gets an a justin airbear is going to uh, well,
he's finally living up to that game the average the
marriage and two scores per game, and he gets a
Giants team that's allowed the third most completions and the
(02:20):
third most pass yards in the league so far this season.
Speaker 3 (02:24):
A for air bear but worth noting.
Speaker 4 (02:25):
Makai Beckton looks like he's gonna miss this week with
a concussion.
Speaker 3 (02:29):
That's not too good.
Speaker 4 (02:30):
But how do you decipher these wide receivers for the Chargers?
I think you can pretty much start all three of
Keenan Allen, Ladd McConkie, and Quenton Johnston. The Giants have
been terrible against wide receivers, allowing the second most receptions
and yards per game, and two weeks ago, all three
Dallas wide receivers managed to score at least fifteen PPR
(02:51):
points in the same game against these Giants. While McConkie
is the one who's had the fewest points so far,
he's still getting the most snaps and he was on
the field for eighty percent of the offensive snaps last week. Sorry,
not eighty percent. He was on the field for eighty
offensive snaps. That's incredible, so many, so many. McConkie gets
the A grade. I got B grades for both Johnston
(03:14):
and Allen. Despite Alan getting the fewest snaps, he's almost
always in the slot and slot corner Andrew Phillips has
been roasted for twenty receptions as a slot corner already
through three games.
Speaker 3 (03:25):
That's a ton wow.
Speaker 4 (03:27):
Aronde Gadsden came out of nowhere last week. He's a
tight end for the Chargers, and last week in his
first NFL game, he got seven targets. Will Disley and
Tyler Conklin are each on this roster as well. They've
combined for six targets, four catches, and seventy five yards
on the season, and Will Disley's out this week. By
the way, so the Giants have allowed the sixth most
(03:48):
receptions to tight ends, including seven to the Chiefs tight
ends last week. So I think you can start arondeh
with a C grade. Another guy in a rookie situation
is Jackson Dart and I've got him on the bench
in his first ever start. The Chargers have been pretty
good against the pass this year, holding both Reno Smith
(04:08):
and Bo Nicks to under two hundred yards in the
last two weeks. Plus They've only allowed two touchdown passes
all season. It's just hard to complete passes on them.
Only fifty seven percent of passes are being caught on
the Chargers. Malik Neighbors so with Russ his average targeted
air yards was third best in the league at a
whopping eighteen point five yards downfield, and Jackson darts average
(04:31):
air yards last year led FBS, so he likes to
talk it deep. But he only completed twenty percent of
his passes over twenty yards against SEC opponents last year,
so that wasn't very good. So I think they'll still
push the ball downfield, but I worried that Neighbors is
going to have to do too much work and the
ball might not be anywhere near him.
Speaker 3 (04:51):
I'll leave him at an A grade.
Speaker 4 (04:53):
Because top wide receivers have been able to get it done.
But it's tougher than you think.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
Cortland Sutton went for six pein eighteen in one last week.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
Jackson Dart, We're gonna talk more about him later in
the show where I think he's gonna be really helpful.
Speaker 4 (05:06):
Matt is rushing, Yeah, I agree. I think that that's
part of it.
Speaker 5 (05:11):
He's got to be more fun to watch the RUSS.
I know that, well, that's for sure.
Speaker 4 (05:17):
Another guy who's been more fun to watch than Russ
is Cam Skataboo, who takes over for the injured Tyrone Tracy,
and he had sixteen touches for one hundred and twenty
two and a score last week, and he's just really
fun to watch. He punishes defenders at the end of
his runs. How much can the Giants lean on two
rookies in the backfield though? And how much work does
Devin Singletary get in this one? Either way, this isn't
(05:39):
the best matchup. The Chargers have seen the fewest running
back touches against them and the second fewest combo yards
per game at only seventy five total yards, so it
seems like just a low volume day. I'll limp Scataboo
in with a C grade. But the sea level is
very low, like the boats are hitting the reef because
the sea level is so low. And finally, Wandeale Robinson,
(05:59):
I have to leave him on the bench. I gotta
see a week of dart start before I can make
a judgment on if he can support two wide receivers.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
All right, again, more on Jackson Dart later. I think
this is a great opportunity for the Giants to get
a lot better quickly on offense.
Speaker 3 (06:15):
Let's go over to the Cleveland Browns taking on the
Detroit Lions.
Speaker 6 (06:17):
Kent.
Speaker 2 (06:17):
This is a great seemingly great Cleveland Browns defense against
obviously a great Detroit offense. Something's got to give in
that regard which side of the ball do you want
to start on with these two teams?
Speaker 5 (06:30):
Well, yeah, I'll start on the Cleveland side of the ball.
You know, we got to talk about Joe Flacco. He
just doesn't seem to slinging it like he used to be.
He's at the lowest yards per attempt of his career
through this point. He's had one interception every single game,
and he had two against the Cincinnati Bengals defense, which
really shouldn't be that tough for him. So he's got
a bench grade here. But if we look somewhere where
(06:51):
you know, there is some interest quin Shawn Judkins. I
got a B grade on him. We thought he might
start a little bit slow, having a late entry to
the year and camp and all that.
Speaker 3 (07:00):
But he did not start slow.
Speaker 5 (07:01):
He had thirteen opportunities in Week two and twenty opportunities
last week, so he scored sixteen fantasy points against a
very good Green Bay defense. And you know, even though
the Lions are stifling running backs, you know, last week
it was Derrick Henry for twelve for fifty. DeAndre Swift
was twelve for sixty one and Jacob's only nineteen for
(07:23):
sixty six, but they all scored a touchdown, so there's
an outside shot that Judkins can hit pay dirt here
as well. Dylan Sampson I have to give a bench now.
He's got the back seat to Judkins. He's an interesting guy,
but they just seem to give all the work to
Judkins going forward for sure. Yeah, as far as people
who are going to pass the ball or excuse we
catch the ball from Joe Flacco, Jerry Judy, I got
(07:44):
to give just a C grade two. He doesn't have
a single red zone target so far this year. He's
already got three drops on the season as well. Per PFLF,
he's leading the team in targets and averaged up to target,
but it's just not converting into anything now. The Lions
are thirty first in pass explosive plays allowed, so maybe
there's an outside shot of some big play, but I
don't want to bet on it at this point. So
(08:06):
you can start them if you have to, but don't
feel great about it. CedarA tillmoan bench. He's only got
six part targets per game. And a horrendous point eight
one yards per out run so far. And then David
Joku Harold Fannin. I'm gonna put a bench on both.
It's just confusing. At this point. Fannon has two red
zone targets to Nadjoku's zero, and Djoku hasn't topped forty
yards or gotten a score yet this year, and Fan
(08:28):
has fewer targets each the last two weeks. It's rolling
the dice between the two and I don't want to
start either if I can help it.
Speaker 2 (08:34):
Agree with that, and that's they might both be good
tight ends.
Speaker 3 (08:37):
It's like John of Smith and Pat Frymer.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
They're both being tight ends, but it doesn't matter if
they're just going to cannibalize each other.
Speaker 3 (08:42):
And that may be what's happening with the Cleveland tight
ends too.
Speaker 5 (08:45):
Absolutely, it's great from an NFL perspective, but for fantasy
it's annoying over on the Detroit side of the ball.
Jared Goff, I'm gonna give a B grade too. He's
the king of the home road splits. I mean, in
twenty twenty four, you a itage twenty two more yards
per game passing at home and through five more towns.
Speaker 3 (09:00):
Then he did on the road. The Browns have a
few key.
Speaker 5 (09:03):
Secondary players that are questionable for this game, Denzel Ward,
Grant Delpit, so there could be some opportunities there. And
then the only other thing to keep track of is
that Taylor Decker was at two times did not practice
in camp during the week for injuries, so it could
be a week left side of the line. So that's
the only thing holding him back from an A grade.
I think, even though it is a good defense. Jamior Gibbs,
(09:25):
I'm going to give an A grade. Do you had
twenty eight opportunities last week? I mean you you just
keep the ball crushing with him, so their rushing attack
is something to be afraid of. And then includes David Montgomery,
who did have an awesome game last week, but I'm
just going to give a B grade to him. He's
the second guy here on this team. He's got consistent
usage fifteen, twelve, thirteen opportunities every week and he had
a huge seventy two yard rush last week. That was
(09:47):
a lot of fun. In his one hundred and fifty
one total rushing yards. Even if you took that away,
he had seven point two yards per carry. I mean,
great outing for him. The Browns, however, allow the least
rushing explosive plays They've The longest rush they've allowed all
year is eleven yards to Lamar Jackson. Yeah, it's tough
receiving the ball from Jared Goff Amona Saint Brown.
Speaker 3 (10:09):
I have an eight grade.
Speaker 5 (10:10):
He's behind only Poka Nakua and Pff receiving grade this year.
The Browns slot corner is allowing the fifth most yards
per snap in slot coverage, so good opportunity for.
Speaker 3 (10:20):
Amana to eat there.
Speaker 5 (10:21):
And he leads the league in red zone targets with
eight and he has four touchdowns, which I believe is
also leading the league right now as well. Jameson Williams,
I got to give him a seed, dialing him down
a little bit. He's drawing tougher coverage here. Well, amana'z
in the slot. He hasn't topped five targets yet this year,
which is kind of strange considering how much they wanted
to talk him up in the offseason. But he is
(10:43):
sixth in average depth to target and he's first in
yards per reception, so all it takes is one. But again,
it's just a matter of if he's going to get
that or not in this game.
Speaker 3 (10:51):
Sam Laporta, I.
Speaker 5 (10:52):
Have a C grade the last two weeks, He's had
four targets each and still hasn't top thirty. He hasn't
top thirty three yards in those two outings. Brown have
some goods safety and linebackers in coverage.
Speaker 3 (11:03):
It's a TD or bust for him. Agreed.
Speaker 2 (11:06):
The Montgomery decision is going to be one of the
hardest ones of the week, I think for people because
he you know, what we saw last week was astounding
for Monty and then the brutal matchup this week. You know,
you hate to bench a guy that can do what
he did, but everything about this matchup says show caution
on David Montgomery.
Speaker 6 (11:26):
Yep.
Speaker 3 (11:26):
Agreed.
Speaker 2 (11:27):
Let's go over to Washington taking on the Atlanta Falcons.
Terry McLaurin is out, Marcus Mariota will be your starting
quarterback here, so a lot of change. You're starting outside
receivers are going to be Chris Moore and Luke McCaffrey.
We are not going to go so far as to
start them. Even with AJ Terrell out. There not a
factor here, and that might lead you to think that
(11:47):
Deebo Samuel is going to get pelted with targets, and
maybe he will. But the problem is Deebo Samuel has
the lowest air yards of any receiver, just four yards
it and that's air yards, So that means if the
quarterback is taking the ball from a like out of shotgun,
he's throwing the ball back to basically the line of scrimmage.
Speaker 3 (12:08):
That's it.
Speaker 2 (12:09):
Declining targets, receptions, and yards, and three straight games for
Deebo Samuel also will worry. And then also with McLaurin
and Noah brown Out, I worry the Falcons are gonna
roll extra coveras to Deebo Samuel and play not not
to let Deebo Samuel beat them. So I can only
get you to a C grade on Deebo Samuel. All right,
zach Ertz, I thought a lot about here. Brutal matchup
(12:31):
against a team that hasn't allowed any tight ends to
top sixteen yards through three games. That is nothing, But
maybe Ertz makes up for it with volume. Because of
all the injuries to the receivers, Mariota didn't use him
last last week very much. So I'm nervous about zach
Ertz and I've only got a C grade on him.
(12:53):
All right, let's talk about Mariota himself. Mariota, I should
say I've been saying his name wrong for like a
decade now, and and by the way, that includes right
to his face one time at a Super Bowl radio row.
Speaker 3 (13:03):
I really need to get Mariota figured out.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
He looked I thought, very comfortable as the starter, very
poised last week.
Speaker 3 (13:12):
Again, lots of receiver problems though for Mariota.
Speaker 2 (13:16):
Fortunately he had eight designed runs last week, and I
think that's what keeps him fantasy viable. All three of
Atlanta's opposing quarterbacks have gotten a little something done on
the ground, including Bryce Young go at a rushing touchdown
last week. So I'm giving you a B grade on
Marcus Mariota, just mostly because of the rushing.
Speaker 3 (13:34):
That he could chip in here.
Speaker 2 (13:36):
Now to the running backs, it's Jacorey Krosskey Merit, It's
Jeremy McNichols, and it's Chris Rodriguez. And this is a
confounding three way time share that we do not like
cannibalizing each other. McNichols broke a long, nice touchdown run,
but he only had four carries. If it had turned
out that instead of McNichols. Had that been Jacorey Rosky
(14:00):
Merritt with the exact same run, people would be losing
their minds right now talking about Jacorey Krossky Merritt is
one of the all time great running backs. He'd be
up there with with John Riggins in the Commanders like
all time Hall of Fame.
Speaker 3 (14:12):
But it was Jeremy McNichols instead.
Speaker 2 (14:15):
And as it stands right now, we can't start any
one of them, in part because the Falcons are good,
not elite, but they're a good run defense. They ranked
ninth best in Fantasy points allowed. They're giving up just
three point six yards per carry. So unless Jacorey krossky
Merrit gets ruled out, which we do not expect he's
battling through knee injury, we got bench grades for all
those guys, all right, quickly with the Falcons side, you
(14:37):
know to start Bajon Robinson. But let me mention this
is a really tough matchup, and I've only got a
B grade on Bajon Robinson. The Falcons ranked third best
and run stuff win rate their number two in PFF
run defense. Washington's allowed the fourth fewest running back reception
so normally if it's a bad running day for Robinson'll
help you out through the air.
Speaker 3 (14:58):
That could be tricky as well.
Speaker 2 (15:00):
They've also given up the fourth fewest yards to running backs.
So just the B grade on but John Robinson, who
you still obviously start, but maybe with diminished expectations. Drake
London has had a quietly disappointing season. No scores, and
he's been ripe in this little window of forty nine
to fifty five yards in all of his games.
Speaker 3 (15:19):
That's not great.
Speaker 2 (15:20):
Washington's got two very physical cornerbacks, Marshall Lattimore and Trey Amos,
both have been very good.
Speaker 3 (15:26):
Haven't allowed to score this year.
Speaker 2 (15:29):
I know Trey Tucker went nuts against this secondary last week,
but his big catches weren't on the cornerbacks. They were
able to get him on linebackers in safety and that's
your hope for London too, who comes in with a
B grade here. Darnell Mooney's been basically invisible and Michael
Pennix has really hurt him. He's turned fifteen targets for
Mooney into six catches. That's hard to be that ineffective
(15:51):
on fifteen targets. I'm giving him a c grade here
in part because the Commanders do have these big, physical cornerbacks.
Maybe Darnald Mooney, who's got great speed, gets past them,
but you're really we're in dart throw territory for Darnell Mooney,
and at this stage, Michael Penix, I'm kind of out.
I don't like what I see here, and I think
you can do better and fear in anything other than
(16:12):
a two quarterback league. He has only managed one touchdown
pass in three games, and I don't I don't think
there's a lot of hope here. Gino Smith did just
throw for three touchdowns against this team, but still a
lot of that was in garbage time. I don't like Penicks,
and I prefer you keep him on the bench. All right,
when we come back, it is time for take a
(16:33):
chance on me nine players. You would not normally start
many of these guys available on the waiver wire. We
will tell you who they are when we return to
Fantasy Football Weekly, and take a chance. Take a chance
(17:26):
on me nine players. You would not normally start.
Speaker 3 (17:30):
Many of these guys available on the waiver wire.
Speaker 2 (17:33):
We're going to begin with a man who absolutely crushed
Take a chance on me. Three weeks ago. I think
this was coming into Week one. Matt Harrison, your guys,
I think rolled up five hundred total yards and five
or six touchdowns last time you did this.
Speaker 3 (17:49):
Who is your quarterback this week?
Speaker 4 (17:51):
Yeah, I had a really good Week two on take
a chance on me? This time, I'm going for Daniel Jones,
and this is for real. Jones has only three passings,
but also three rushing touchdowns, so he's pretty much Jalen Hurts. Now,
that same Jalen Hurts decided that he was a thrower
last week against the Rams defense and found the end
zone three times. Prior to that, they feasted on two
(18:11):
AFC South quarterbacks who have no offensive lines. So I
think we'd agree that Jones is a guy that can
add some fantasy points with his feet.
Speaker 3 (18:18):
CJ.
Speaker 4 (18:19):
Stroud got to thirty two yards, Hurts got to forty
and a score on the ground.
Speaker 3 (18:23):
Fire him up.
Speaker 2 (18:24):
I think this is the last week, though, that Indiana
Jones is going to be eligible for this segment. At
the rate that he's going, I don't know that we
can keep using it here.
Speaker 3 (18:31):
That's probably a kin you stole my take a chance
on me guy.
Speaker 2 (18:35):
Well, we'll talk about that guy in just a second, Ken,
who is your take a chance every quarterback?
Speaker 5 (18:40):
Yeah, I'm gonna go with Gino Smith playing at home
against the Chicago Bears. The Bears have allowed the third
most points to quarterbacks so far this year, and that
includes basically just one quarter of JJ McCarthy and deck
without Ceedee Lamb last week, So they're really really poorous
in the secondary there. Gino is third in the league
in passing yards per game right now, and he's the
(19:00):
excuse me the Bears. The highest coverage rank they have
amongst their cornerbacks and safeties is one hundred and fifth
out of one five, So they don't have a single
even above average secondary person right now.
Speaker 3 (19:13):
And even though.
Speaker 5 (19:14):
Ashton Genty is improving, this still isn't the focal point
of the offense.
Speaker 3 (19:17):
Geno Smith is oline.
Speaker 5 (19:19):
Composite rankings have the Raiders as middle of the pack
for pass pro and dead last and run block, and
so they're not really going to be able to get
Genty going.
Speaker 3 (19:26):
Gino Smith is going to be the one attacking through
the air.
Speaker 2 (19:29):
Yeah, I've got the Raiders matchup later in the show,
and I have a B grade on Geno Smith. Might
take a chance to be quarterback is Vikings quarterback Carson
Wentz not asked to do a lot in his Vikings
debut last week, but still a double two scores. I
like that the Wentz is releasing the ball quickly, almost
a whole second faster than JJ McCarthy, and that will
help neutralize that Steelers pass rush. You know, Cam Hayward, TJ.
(19:52):
Watt obviously great. We really need is the Vikings just
throw more passes by a wide margin. They're throwing the
fewest passes in the NFL. Hopefully that'll be the case
here in which should be a closer game than last week.
And the Steelers secondary hasn't been great. They've allowed the
six most fantasy points to quarterbacks. Every oposing quarterback has
multiple touchdowns one way or another. And Wentz gets back
(20:13):
Jordan Addison putting a legit number two receiver on the field.
All right, Matt, let's go to your take a chance
on me running back.
Speaker 3 (20:20):
I've got Blake Koram in this one.
Speaker 4 (20:22):
He averaged about four touches per game last season. It
was like a ninety ten Snaphare split last year with Kyron.
This year, he saw two touches in Week one, five
in week two, eight in week three, and it's now
closer to a seventy five to twenty five split. But
he's done really well with his rushing, averaging seven point
one yards per carry so far this year. He's got
(20:43):
a touchdown, he's earning touches at the very least. He's
now a change of pace guy. I think he's gonna
start seeing more work too. Key handcuff. If you're a
Kyron Williams owner, All.
Speaker 2 (20:55):
Right, that's Blake Korum. Let's go over to Kent. You
take a chance on me running back.
Speaker 5 (20:58):
Yeah, I'm gonna go with Trey Henderson. He's at home
against the Carolina Panthers. Yeah, it's risky for sure. His
Week three snap count was just forty six percent, but
he did have fourteen opportunities. This came on the back
of Romandi Stevenson fumbling twice last week and he got
out touched by Henderson as well. This is from friend
of the show Dwayne McFarland. After the fumbling incident from
(21:21):
Romandi Stevenson, Trevion Henderson did this in three drives after that,
eighty four percent of snaps, ninety percent of rushing attempts
seventy one percent of routes for five point seven fantasy
points and just three drives. So if we can, you know,
kind of extrapolate that out to a bigger shareload in
this game, I could get pretty interesting. That the Panthers
allow a league worst five point seven yards per carried
(21:41):
to running backs. I think this is a good chance
for Henderson to break out. Now that's the that's the
big one.
Speaker 2 (21:46):
And we'll talk about Romondre Stevenson a little bit later
in the show. He's going to be a really fascinating
decision for people. My fat take a chance at me
running back is Woody Marks from Houston. A lot of
speculation here because Marx really hasn't done anything to want
to start to this point, but his snap count jumping
up every week. Week one, it was just seven snaps,
then it went to thirteen, and then last week all
(22:07):
the way up to twenty nine snaps for Woody Marx,
and last week he ran nineteen routes. And that's the
big thing Woody Marx gives us is he's the past
catching running back for the Houston Texans. He has more
long down and distant snaps than Nick Chubb does.
Speaker 3 (22:23):
This year, and while he's only.
Speaker 2 (22:25):
Had two catches, admittedly you know we know he can catch,
and the Titans have allowed the third most fantasy points
to runners last week Jonathan Taylor doesn't catch a lot
had three catches, So I don't know. Woody Marks is
a as a dart throw could make some sense for
a take a chance on me option for your team.
Speaker 3 (22:41):
All right, Matt, let's go to your take a chance
to me receiver. Who you got?
Speaker 4 (22:45):
I've got Cavante Turpin. He plays for the Cowboys. Eighty
two percent of Turpin's routes this year have come from
the slot, which is where a bunch of Ceedee Lamb's
routes came from. So it stands the reason that Turpin's
gonna be on the field for most of the slot
situations this week against the Packers, and the best way
to beat them it's up the middle with the slot
receiver or the tight end. And Javon Bullard is a terrible,
(23:08):
terrible slot corner. He's one of their weaknesses on the team.
He's given up eighteen receptions in his coverage this year.
The other three corners for the Packers have combined to
allow only ten receptions. So everybody's just attacking Javon Bullard.
The best wide receivers. In the first two weeks to
face the Packers, it was the slot guys A Monra
and Debo from the slot, so higher up, Cavante Turpin.
Speaker 3 (23:32):
All right, that is a tea tall.
Speaker 2 (23:33):
I like this one.
Speaker 3 (23:34):
Cancel. Let's go to you.
Speaker 2 (23:35):
Who is your take a chance.
Speaker 6 (23:36):
On the receiver?
Speaker 5 (23:37):
Yeah, I'm gonna go with Christian Kirk here. He missed
weeks one to two with a hamstring injury, so he
was working his way back from that. In week three,
he immediately leaped frog the rookie wide receivers and Xavier
Hudson Hutchinson for the wide receiver two role on the offense.
Speaker 3 (23:50):
He cut three three.
Speaker 5 (23:52):
Balls for twenty five yards, but it was on eight
targets and only four of those targets were deemed catchable.
Speaker 3 (23:57):
And C. J.
Speaker 5 (23:58):
Stroud threw two tough picks when trying to target Kirk
in this game. I mean, he had a tough outing,
so hopefully he bounces back. But Titans slot cornerback Roger
mccree's decent, but he's allowed the fifth most yards per
snap out of the slot this year and the most Yeah,
per reception as well, So could be a good chance
for Kirk to get some volume here. Kirk and this
offense needs to get going, move the chains, and that's
(24:19):
the short and intermediate stuff, and that's all Kirk.
Speaker 3 (24:21):
Yeah, Kirk is the clear number two receiver for Houston.
Speaker 2 (24:24):
They don't really have anybody else yet that's developed. And
so I'm with you on Christian Kirk. I'mbullish on him
the rest of the way. Is just the kind of
guy who can help you out as a as a
flex guy.
Speaker 3 (24:34):
I am going with might take a chance with.
Speaker 2 (24:36):
The receiver Dontavian Wicks of the Green Bay Packers going
up against Dallas, and that's a lot of it. Your
Packers leader in targets is dan Davian Wicks, and with
Jayden Reid out, he's getting a team leading twenty three
percent target per route rate. But this is mostly about
a Dallas secondary that embarrassed itself last week in a
fashion that you almost never see it.
Speaker 3 (24:57):
And in the.
Speaker 2 (24:58):
NFL, Dallas is second ranks, dead last and fantasy points
allowed to wide outs, they rank dead last and touchdowns
allowed to wide outs and dead last in yards are
allowed to wide out. So We're gonna pick on Davian
Wicks here. Dallas does get Deron Bland back cornerback from
his foot injury, that's gonna help a little, but man,
it's still a primo opportunity for don Tavian Wicks. All right, guys,
(25:21):
let's work in one more matchup, Kent. Let's talk about
the Saints going up against the Bills. The Saints just
got drubbed last week and now a tough matchup as
they travel from one coast Seattle over to the other coast.
Speaker 3 (25:33):
For the Buffalo Bills.
Speaker 5 (25:34):
Yeah, it's probably gonna be more the same. I'll start
talking about the Saints here because you got to kind
of pick your spots. Spencer Rattler, obviously we're benching he's
He's looked fine all things considered from what we expected
of him. But you just have better options for fantasy
right now. But Alvin Kamara, on the other hand, I'm
gonna give him an A grade. He's had sixteen point
seven attempts and three point three targets per game so
far this year. He hasn't played fewer than seventy four
(25:56):
percent of offensive snaps. The Bills are dead last and
explode have rushed plays allowed, and he has six red
zone rushing attempts to KeAndre Miller's one, So I don't
think there's any push for competition here.
Speaker 3 (26:07):
I'm giving him an a grade.
Speaker 5 (26:09):
Over on the receiving side of the ball, Chris o'lava,
I give him a bat grade. He has the most
targets in the league right now with thirty six. He's
had at least ten each week so far and six
receptions in every game, but he still hasn't cleared fifty
seven receiving yards. He just hasn't really turned it into
anything meaningful. The Bills have allowed the fifth least receiving
yards to wideouts this year. He's a reliable PPR floor
(26:30):
wide receiver, but you got to hope for anything above
that for a splash play. Rashij head C grade last
two weeks just five and six targets. He's had the
lowest eight out of his career thus far at ten
point one versus his career average of fourteen point three.
So a lot different role than we're used to with him.
And he's tied with Olave for red zone targets at
four piece. Juwan Johnson, charge your guy, He's tight end
(26:54):
four on the year, good third in targets among all
tight ends, tied fourth in red zone targets, just one
touchdown so far, but I think that could be ticking
up here soon. And then every week he's had eight
or more targets, five or more receptions, and forty nine
or more yards.
Speaker 3 (27:08):
Plug him in over Ron Johnson.
Speaker 2 (27:11):
Is a is one of the great success stories of
this season. And where is the peacock for this, Robbie?
I think yeah, worthy territory, and I think you're kind
of asleep at the wheel right now. There we go,
Thank you, mine man. That's great saving.
Speaker 3 (27:26):
Some of my fantasy teams at the tight end position.
Are we Yeah, let's go to the Buffalo. But I
assume you're done with the Saints over the Bill side, Yes.
Speaker 5 (27:34):
Over on the Bill's side, Josh All, he's an Are
you're locking him in?
Speaker 3 (27:37):
James Cook, I'm giving an a again.
Speaker 5 (27:39):
He's had one hundred plus scrimmage yards all three weeks
this year, four rushing touchdowns. The Bills are likely to
be ahead in this game. Slam dunk Khalil Shakir keon
Coleman and Josh Palmer. I'm given a three way bench
grade because all three receivers have been between thirteen and
eighteen targets, one hundred and thirteen and one hundred and
fifty eight receiving yards, and zero or one touchdowns, and
(28:00):
none of them have had more than four targets since
Week one. Benjamal, you don't know what to do with
this receiving core yet right now, so I'm not gonna
deal with it.
Speaker 3 (28:10):
No chance on benching Khalil Shakir.
Speaker 2 (28:12):
I mean, you're a free but Shakir is a is
a safe, like five six seven targets a game. I
you know, I don't know what your hesitation is here
against the Saints.
Speaker 5 (28:24):
They like they've they've been using Kiak Coleman more than
they have last year. They've I don't know, last couple weeks.
They just haven't really targeted Shaki that much. But I
will see.
Speaker 3 (28:32):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (28:33):
Don kin kid b grade six targets in weeks two
and three leads tight ends in red zone targets with five.
He's hit the pay dirt twice. Looking good there.
Speaker 2 (28:40):
So far.
Speaker 5 (28:41):
He's got a two point one yards per route run,
which is fourth among tight ends with five plus targets,
so h He's in a good spot here.
Speaker 2 (28:47):
B great for him, all right, and that's it for that.
That's it for buffalotchup, nicely done. That was wrapped up
quickly right there. Even if you're totally wrong about Khalil Shakir.
Let's go ahead and uh we'll give you credit for
for that. A fast move Buffalo Bill's segment. When we
come back, we will hear from our Dublin correspondent duly
O Day for making his Fantasy Football Weekly initial appearance.
(29:10):
Find out about the Vikings taking on the Steelers Aaron
go Brock when we come back.
Speaker 3 (29:17):
To Fantasy Football Weekly.
Speaker 2 (29:32):
Welcome back to a special edition of Fantasy Football Weekly,
live from Dublin, Ireland. We needed to find somebody that
could break down this game in a way that only
the Irish can, and outside a pub in Dublin, we
found duly O Day. Welcome to the show, making your
(29:53):
debut on Fantasy Football Weekly.
Speaker 7 (29:56):
Tati Tato, how you Paullen kent to leo' day A
fresh couchy from the Jamison scut.
Speaker 3 (30:05):
I'm doing a dusser today as I was in a
rag order for breakfast. I don't know what that means,
can't can you translate.
Speaker 5 (30:14):
Let me help out here. I know a little bit
of Gaelic and stuff. Maybe I can mix it in.
It sounds like you're saying, Hey, Paul Ken, I'm Duli O'Day.
He's a fresh lad from up in Ireland. He's looking
to tell us a little bit about the football game
this weekend.
Speaker 3 (30:27):
Oh good, here, are you out of your tree?
Speaker 7 (30:30):
Cause we got the Minnesota MC Vikings and the Pittsville,
Oh Steelers over.
Speaker 3 (30:35):
It, he said.
Speaker 5 (30:39):
I think Julio Day asked if we are drunk yet
because the Vikings and Steelers are playing in Dublin on
Sunday morning.
Speaker 7 (30:45):
Dude, Jordan o' mason, is he only your man? He's
a story horse and was quite the whooper last Scarlett.
Speaker 3 (30:54):
He said.
Speaker 5 (30:55):
Jordan Mason was awesome last week and gets an A grade.
The Steelers gave up one hundred yard days to Breese
Hall and Kenneth Walker in the first two weeks, and
Romandrie Stevenson would have a fine fantasy day if he
didn't fumble twice.
Speaker 7 (31:08):
Oh, Carson mcquentz, he was Paul's Jennie.
Speaker 3 (31:13):
Mack, he said. Carson wentz his churches. Take a chance
on me.
Speaker 7 (31:17):
Quarterback TJ o' hockinson, get out of that garden and
bang on what a bogger. Don't be gobbed on Sunday
because the sun is splitting the stones.
Speaker 3 (31:30):
TJ. Hockinson gets a B grade.
Speaker 5 (31:32):
Last week, Wentz targeted Hawkinson six times that he had
forty nine yards in a score. It feels like darisaw
back at left tackle. Hockinson was asked to stay home
and block a lot less. The Steelers have already allowed
three touchdowns to the tight end position, including two last
week to Hunter Henry D.
Speaker 7 (31:48):
Justin mcjefferson fucking diesel.
Speaker 3 (31:52):
He's deadly.
Speaker 7 (31:53):
The Craig will be ninety, I tell you, with messages
and minerals.
Speaker 3 (31:58):
He said. Justin Jefferson gets an agger.
Speaker 5 (32:00):
The Steelers have a good set of corners, but it
won't stop Garrett Wilson, Cooper Cup and Jackson Smith and
Jigma from hitting seven receptions in each topping ninety yards.
Speaker 7 (32:09):
Jordan and Adam are off my head. They're moldy, They're baluebas.
Speaker 3 (32:14):
In a heap, he said.
Speaker 5 (32:16):
Jordan, Addison and Adam feel in our bench grades. I
don't know if there's enough to go around. And the
Vikings haven't top twenty one passing attempts in a game
so far this year. Wentz has only thrown it only
through twenty times last week, and the Steelers have only
allowed two wide receiver touchdowns through three games.
Speaker 3 (32:31):
There's one to go around. It's going to Jefferson. Do
you fancy a few scoops? Paul Cuz?
Speaker 7 (32:38):
Jalen o' warren will bring the juice, but he might
get ben jaxed, which could make us all stall the ball.
Could Kenny g be jammy and lobbing the gob on Sunday?
Speaker 3 (32:51):
Jalen Warren gets a C grade.
Speaker 5 (32:53):
He was added to the injury report on Friday with
a knee injury, but was limited and practice.
Speaker 3 (32:57):
You'll need to wake up early to make sure he's active.
Speaker 5 (33:00):
Kenneth Gainwall only saw five touches last week, but did
score on a run from the goal line, and other
than that, it was all Warren twenty three touches but
only eighty one combo yards. If he gets the volume
C grade, as the Vikings have allowed the tenth most
rushing yards this season, and if he's not active, the
C grade moves over to Kenneth Gainwell. Oh Daniel Metcalf.
(33:20):
He's flothered.
Speaker 3 (33:22):
He's the bull of the Catholic school. What good old Calviy.
Speaker 7 (33:26):
Mcaustin his stick as a small hospital.
Speaker 3 (33:29):
He's downright paralytic, he said.
Speaker 5 (33:33):
DK Metcalf gets a C grade. Calvin Austin is on
the bench. No wide receivers top sixty nine yards against
the Vikings and they only allowed a touchdown to Romo
Dunes and the opener. That includes their matchups with Drake London,
Jimar Chase, Anti Higgins. Metcalf has been a favorite of
Rogers near the goal line so far, with touchdowns in
each of his last two games. He's the safest receiver option,
but he's only averaging five targets a game.
Speaker 3 (33:55):
Sure, listen, it's grand. Johnny Smith he.
Speaker 7 (33:59):
Snacker, but Patio Friarmouth is still going on the gargle
for some of the black stuff and a bag of tato.
Speaker 5 (34:07):
Johnny Smith and pat Friremuth are on the bench too.
The best day the Vikings have given to a tight
end was to Drew Sample last week in absolute garbage time.
And with these two basically splitting seven targets per game,
it's not worth it unless you have a primo matchup
Aaron mcrodgers.
Speaker 7 (34:22):
He's a sleeping The Jacks have him r swize for
donkey years and you'll have a nail of a time.
Speaker 3 (34:29):
Aaron Rodgers gets a C grade.
Speaker 5 (34:31):
Is the second time he's played against the Vikings in Europe,
and last time that did not go well. But he's
a low yardage passer now, averaging less than two hundred
yards per game. He's thrown seven passing touchdowns in three games, though,
which is enough to keep him startable with a C grade.
Let's see how he does against a blitzing Brian Flores defense.
Speaker 7 (34:47):
It's been a good day for dry and so I'll
send you to eat the head off. Don't be a
pox or a chancer. Go get yourself in bits like
a muppet, because we'll all be toss pots on Monday.
Speaker 1 (35:01):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (35:01):
Thank you, Duley Oday. That's it.
Speaker 2 (35:04):
And the beautiful part about having you on the show, Duley,
is now with all the money that you've earned from
Fantasy Football Weekly, you can quit that second job at
the Jamison Distillery.
Speaker 3 (35:13):
Oh thank you. Polio Chachian.
Speaker 2 (35:19):
I like how everybody becomes irish if you just throw
an O or a mac in front of their name.
Speaker 3 (35:23):
Thank you, duley O Day.
Speaker 2 (35:25):
Let's go over to Let's go back to the North
American Continent and the Carolina Panthers taking on the New
England Patriots.
Speaker 3 (35:34):
We're gonna watch Chuba Hubbard's injury status.
Speaker 2 (35:37):
He's got a calf game time decision ninth in utilization,
getting almost seventy percent of his team's snaps and rushing attempts,
He's always safe even if he's not bringing the same
upside he did last year.
Speaker 3 (35:47):
Patriots run defense has been really good.
Speaker 2 (35:49):
I don't think anybody expected two point eight yards per carry.
Holy cow, that's a massive improvement for them. Second best
in the league. New England's actually allowed more recent receiving
yards then rushing yards to runners, and Tuba Hubbard can
catch a little bit. He's already scored twice through the air,
and that's a nice opportunity for him if the running
(36:10):
game does fall apart a.
Speaker 3 (36:12):
I would have given Cuba a B grade if healthy.
Speaker 2 (36:15):
I'm giving him a C grade because of the calf
injury and the fact that calf injuries do sometimes come
back up again. Pick up ric o'dowdele just to be safe.
Let's go over to the Panthers passing game. Teed McMillan
says he's going to play through his calf injury. New
England's hoping to get its best cornerback, Christian Gonzalez back
from a hamstring injury, but even if he plays, it'll
be his first action of the year. Teed McMillan tied
(36:36):
for eighth in targets, the most of any rookie receiver.
He hasn't scored yet, but it's easy to see a
big game coming. The Patriots have allowed the eighth most
receiving yards, third most receiving touchdowns to wideouts, and they've
given up either a touchdown or ninety seven receiving yards
to wideouts six different times in three games. So Ted
McMillan potentially sitting on a really good game. Xavier Leguette
(36:59):
is out, Renfro should get an uptick in usage, and
especially from the slot. Renfos had one good game, two
bad games. I think Renfro here is sitting on a
nice game. He matches up in the slot against Marcus
Jones and that is a favorable matchup and he comes
in with a C grade. The only other guy that
I really want to talk about to Bryce Young. If
it's ever a time to start Bryce Young.
Speaker 3 (37:20):
This is it.
Speaker 2 (37:21):
Patriots have played arguably the softest set of quarterbacks in
the league, yet despite that, they've given up touchdowns in
every game, multiple touchdowns in two of three games, and
the fourth most passing yards. Young has look great, but
it's a plus matchup and he's a sneaky helper on
the ground.
Speaker 3 (37:38):
So a C grade for Bryce Young in this one.
Speaker 2 (37:41):
Not a lot that I love about the side of this.
For New England Stefan Diggs is barely a C grade,
with the caveat that the Panthers haven't played any really
good passing defenses. No opposing wide out's top fifty five yards.
That's not good, and only one opposing wide receiver has
scored against the care line of Panthers in this one.
Speaker 3 (38:01):
Cornerbacks Mike Jackson J. C. Horn looking like a formidable
young duo of cornerbacks. And here's the weird thing. They
skip on the volume.
Speaker 2 (38:10):
Just four targets per game and he's yet to be
targeted in the red zone. So I've got a barely
C grade on him. Kaishan Booty at this point just
not getting targeted. He's got one of the worst separation
rates and cushion rates in the league. So he's just
not getting open and he's not seeing enough targets. My
guy Kaishan Booty. Were putting some booty on the bench
this week. Hunter Henry went butzerk last week, but the
(38:33):
previous there he is. That's our booty right there. Hunter
Henry held to just one catch for nine yards two
weeks ago, so that gives you the upside and the
downside for him. Caroline has allowed the most yards seventy
four per game to tight ends in three games, four
different tight ends of top forty yards, and the only good,
particularly good tight end the Panthers have faced, Trade McBride
(38:55):
put up seventy eight yards. I like Hunter Henry here
b grade on him. So that brings us to Drake May.
The Panthers sound like a layup, but they've allowed the
fewest passing touchdowns just two all year, and two of
the three opposing quarterbacks that they faced have failed to
top one hundred and seventy eight yards.
Speaker 3 (39:11):
This is a good Panthers secondary.
Speaker 2 (39:13):
May is always a rushing threat and that's the best
reason reason to start him here, but no quarterbacks rush
well against the Panthers against the Panthers this year. So
I've only got a C grade on Drake May Travion
Henderson was kent take a chance on me running back.
Speaker 3 (39:27):
I do not agree. I think this is going to
be a Remandre game.
Speaker 2 (39:30):
But this thing is totally in flux because Ramandre fumbled
two times. Now on Friday, Mike Vrabel came out and
said that Stevenson was not going to face any kind
of disciplinary action, presuming the like a benching because of
the two fumbles. Stevenson has acknowledged he can't keep fumbling
or Stevenson could end up looking great. Stevenson has looked
(39:51):
really good when given opportunities, and he's looked like far
better than Travion Henderson by a mile. And this is
a plus matchup for him against the Carolina Panthers, who
remained they were last year one of the league's worst
run defenses and they remained bad this year.
Speaker 3 (40:08):
I've got a B grade on vermondre Stevenson.
Speaker 2 (40:11):
But it's possibly never even sees the field. So tons
of risk, tons of downside with Stevenson.
Speaker 3 (40:16):
And plenty of upside in a plus matchup. All right, Ken,
Let's see if we.
Speaker 2 (40:21):
Can sneak in one more matchup. It's got to be
a little tidy. We've got about three little over three
minutes for this for the no. This is actually a Matt.
This is Eagles taking on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Matt, Yeah,
let's let's go. Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley. They continue to
get a grades.
Speaker 4 (40:36):
Hurts showed you could pass last week, and Barkley's still
seeing at least twenty two touches per game. So even
though the numbers weren't great last week, you're not sitting
Saquon aj Brown and DeVonta Smith. They must have been
the squeaky wheels going into week three because each got
their highest total targets, receptions, yards of the young season,
and both scored. Tampa's an average opponent for wide receivers.
Garrett Wilson and Nico Collins were each able to find
(40:57):
the end zone in the last two weeks. Devanta Smith
runs most of his routes from the slot for the Eagles.
That's the path at least resistance against corner. Jacob Parrish,
Jamel Dean, and Zion McCollum are on the outside. They're
pretty good so I got C grades on both Brown
and Smith just because I'm just a little nervous that
we could go back to Week one and two with
these guys. Dallas Goddard gets a C grade as well.
(41:19):
He missed Week two with a knee injury. Played in
Week three but only saw two targets, but he caught
one for thirty three yards in a score. It looks
like a tough matchup on paper, but the Bucks have
only really faced one half decent tight end and that
was Kyle Pitts and he got seven catches for fifty
nine yards. So that's a C grade for Goddard. On
the Buck side, Baker Mayfield, he gets a C grade
(41:40):
as well. It's hard to pass against the Eagles. Phillies
faced Dak Mahomes and Stafford this year, three guys who
can chuck the ball. They're allowing one hundred and ninety
passing yards and one score per game. Plus with Mike
Evans out for a few weeks, that's just one fewer
weapon Baker has it at his disposal. Just a C
grade for Baker. Now a Mecca eg Buka, He's a weapon,
(42:03):
though he's a shiny new dagger. He's been playing from
the slot so far, but Chris Godwin appears to be
ready to return from injury. So here's the deal. The
slot wide receiver has been the moneymaker against the Eagles.
Ceede lamb ran a lot of slot routes against them.
In the Cowboys, he had thirteen targets, seven for one.
Ten Puka ran almost all his routes from the slot
(42:24):
from the Rams fifteen targets, eleven catches in one hundred
and twelve yards last week. So it's clear that slot
wide receivers have been the focus against Philly. So if
it's eg Buka's defined role, I give him an A.
But I think Godwin is probably gonna get like a
portion of the slotte routes. So I'm going to downgrade
Egbuka to a B grade in this one, and I'm
(42:45):
leaving Godwin and Shepherd both on the bench. Sterling Shepherd,
I should mention I fear Godwin. He just gets like
twenty snaps and that's it because he's had almost a
year off, and Shepherd's going to see a bunch of
the outside work. But he's probably close to his Week
two snapcount of seventy five percent. The problem is the
Eagles are only giving up about thirteen receptions per game
(43:06):
to wide receivers and they're almost all going to the
slot so far. Finally, our last guy, Bucky Irving. He
gets a sneaky B grade in this one. The Eagles
have allowed four point seven yards per carry, that's the
south most in the league, and Javonte looked pretty good
against them in Week one. He had two scores kyro
and cobbled together one hundred and twelve combo yards in.
Speaker 3 (43:28):
A score last week.
Speaker 4 (43:29):
Bucky's a bellcow and bellcow backs can get it done
against Billy.
Speaker 2 (43:33):
When we come back for our number two, we'll open
up with three tough questions. These are some of the
toughest brain benders that are puzzling fantasy owners. See if
you can go three and oh in three tough questions
when we come back in moments, welcome back our number
(44:18):
two Fantasy football weekly. Paul Chargi and Matt Harrison kent
Wyrock with you if you want to follow us on X.
I am at Paul Chargie and Matt is at Explosive
Output and can I love you?
Speaker 3 (44:31):
But I don't know how to spell your Twitter handle?
That's really tricky.
Speaker 5 (44:34):
Well, I'll tell you what. I don't want to have
to spell it every time we come on the show,
so can't. Wyrock starts with the W. You can figure
it out from there.
Speaker 4 (44:41):
Hey, Charch, I wanted to mention too. Fantasy Football almost
Daily returned. Yes, Yes, the return.
Speaker 2 (44:49):
Of Fantasy Football almost Daily, the old show that we
had in the League Safe days and years ago. Tell
me more about fantasy football almost daily, Matt.
Speaker 4 (44:57):
So I'm hosting it as a part of our old
League Safe thing, and we're doing a waiver wire show
with Scott Fish every week. We're doing the Thursday night
matchup Fantasy Football weekly style every week and I get
to give plus and minus grades because you're not there
to stop me. And then we also do a DFS
(45:20):
preview on Thursday. So three shows a week Tuesday, Wednesday
and Thursday. Just search for fantasy football almost daily wherever
you listen to pods or it's.
Speaker 3 (45:29):
A video show on YouTube as well.
Speaker 2 (45:32):
Oh, that sounds like it's happening almost daily almost All right,
Let's go to a game. We call three tough questions, beginning.
Speaker 6 (45:41):
With tough question number one, what is.
Speaker 3 (45:45):
The appropriate level of panic for Travis Hunter? Is it none?
Speaker 2 (45:50):
Is it some or is it a bowel loosening level
of existential dread?
Speaker 3 (45:55):
We begin with Matt Harrison.
Speaker 4 (45:58):
You know, I only had one share of I Have
a Hunter this year, and I just traded him away.
I've already moved on. He runs the same number of
routes as Diami Brown, he gets the same number of
targets as Parker Washington, and his A dot is stupid
low at six point seven. Oh, by the way, he
also plays corner and he could disappear for days on end.
Speaker 3 (46:17):
You don't know if you're gonna be able to play him.
It's early.
Speaker 4 (46:20):
I don't know if he develops into a reliable every
week Fantasy contributor. I think you're just playing a guessing game.
I think it's bowel loosening level of existential dread, and
I'd move on all.
Speaker 2 (46:32):
Right, Ken, what's the appropriate level of panic for Travis Hunter?
Speaker 3 (46:35):
Is it none? Is it some? Or is it blowed?
Speaker 5 (46:39):
I am running to the nearest store for some adult
diaper's charge because it is bowel loosening for sure. I
think you know, we're only three games into this thing,
but I think it's fair to say that he might
be a better cornerback than he is wide receiver by
a fair amount. And you know, a two way player
in a thirteen game season, that's one thing. They got
seventeen games to play here, Jakes are gonna need him
on the side of the ball that he's played better.
(47:00):
And let's be honest, even if he does get on
the offensive sign Shane Waldron is a football terrorist the
way he is affecting wide receivers in this league. So
even if he does get chances, it's gonna be tough sledding.
I don't know, huh, I don't like it. The appropriate
level of panic for Travis Hunter.
Speaker 2 (47:17):
Is full blown bowel loosening levels of existential dread. I've
got Hunter in an Empire league and I am deeply,
deeply worried.
Speaker 3 (47:26):
Right now. It's a four man logjam.
Speaker 2 (47:28):
Hunter's been unable to separate himself from Diami Brown and
Parker Washington. He's seeing decreasing snaps, targets and targets per
route run as a receiver and increasing snaps as a cornerback,
where the Jaguars just need it more. They're not four
deep at corner, they're four deep at receiver. They don't
need him there and I know the right answer intrinsically
(47:48):
is to say, don't react to three weeks of a
rookie season, But man, I don't like what I'm seeing.
I can't I can't say drop Travis Hunter outright, and
I can't say trade him away at this very low
value point right now, I don't think.
Speaker 3 (48:04):
But right now, the concern level off the charts.
Speaker 4 (48:08):
Do you want to hear my grade that I made
for for Rocky Rice straight up? Or wow that you
killed him? Killed him? I would take that.
Speaker 3 (48:18):
I gotta wait three more weeks to Eve one. Let's
go for it.
Speaker 6 (48:25):
Tough question number two.
Speaker 3 (48:27):
Rest of season?
Speaker 2 (48:28):
Will New York Giants quarterback Jackson Dart most often receive
a grade of a B or C or bench on
this show. For this one, we begin with kat weyrock Yeah.
Speaker 5 (48:44):
I was kind of between two options here, but I
am going with B grade. I think he's got a
nice rushing floor. He at thirty four yards per game
in college rushing. He was on the Lane Kiffin offense,
which did force a lot of defense into two high
covered shells, so he should be ready for that at
the NFL level. And he's got a big time throw
percentage of seven point one last year for ole Miss,
and we talked about how he likes to sling it.
Speaker 3 (49:04):
I think we're gonna get some exciting games out of
him this year.
Speaker 2 (49:07):
All right, So that was did you say B grade?
I sat from yet? All right, Matt. Rest of season
will Giants new quarterback Jackson Dart most often receive an
ABC or bench grade on this show.
Speaker 4 (49:19):
I gave him a bench grade this week, and then
I just looked at their very very difficult schedule, and
I gave him six more bench grades coming up after that,
Philly twice, Denver, San fran, Green Bay, Minnesota. That means
seven bench grades and six starting grades the rest of
the season.
Speaker 3 (49:36):
Some of those will be a B, some of them
be a C. But I don't think he's.
Speaker 4 (49:39):
Accurate enough with the deep ball, and I think he's
gonna end up with more bench grades than anything.
Speaker 3 (49:43):
So I got bench.
Speaker 2 (49:46):
I believe the correct answer is gonna be halfway between those,
and I'm not just splitting the difference here.
Speaker 3 (49:49):
The correct answer is gonna be a C grade.
Speaker 2 (49:51):
The running is going to keep Jackson Dart viable for
games in which the passing does not come through, and
I think we're gonna say end up saying a lot.
We don't love passing games for Dart, but we do
love the fact that he's going to give us thirty
forty rushing yards.
Speaker 3 (50:04):
If for some reason Brian Dable does.
Speaker 2 (50:06):
Not give him designed runs, well it's Brian dables last season.
So I mean, that's gonna end it for him, and
that's gonna be one of the one of the factors
that ends ends his coaching head coaching career with the Giants.
I believe you got to use all the tools in
the weapon in the all the tools in the shed,
all the bullets in the chamber, what yeah those I
use all of those, Yeah, absolutely, tools in the bag,
(50:29):
tools in the bag.
Speaker 3 (50:30):
I think that's I think that's what we're gonna do.
Speaker 2 (50:32):
Like do we saw in the preseason seventy eight percent
completion rate, a lot of short passes in the preseason,
but he did throw as as Kent mentioned, he threw
downfield a lot in college.
Speaker 3 (50:42):
Hopefully that'll be the case here.
Speaker 2 (50:44):
I think I think between running and passing, uh, we
will get c grades out of Jackson Dart.
Speaker 6 (50:51):
Tough question number three.
Speaker 2 (50:54):
Who scores more Fantasy points going forward? Is it Kansas?
City tight End Travis Kelcey or is it Kansas City
tight End Noah Gray? H Matt Harrison, Let's start with you.
It's thornier than it looks.
Speaker 4 (51:08):
But Kelsey's had more snaps, more targets, more receptions, more
yards every week. He's only got the one score. He's
got the only tight end score too. But the thing
is it's not a huge gap. Kelsey's only had one
more target than Gray in each of the last two weeks.
But this is not a question on which one do
you want more? This is a question on why do
you have Travis Kelcey on your team. He's ninety eight
(51:31):
percent rostered while Gray is two percent. He's basically like
Noah Gray at this point in his career. If you
can get anything for Travis Kelcey, trade him now. If not,
I think he's in sabotage drop mode very very soon.
Speaker 2 (51:45):
Kent who scores more Fantasy points from this point forward?
Kansas City tight End Travis kelce or Kansas City tight
End Noah Gray.
Speaker 5 (51:54):
I mean it's Travis Kelcey. He's showing his age, for sure,
but it's not like Noah Gray is some up and comer.
This is his fifth NFL season. He's on his second contract.
The whole offense is kind of stinky right now without
any true receivers really pulling things together. So they got
Kelsey probably doing a bit more than he should. But
you know, like the stats listed out, he's doing better overall.
(52:14):
He's got more red zone targets in the touchdowns, so
the only thing Gray had was a couple of multi
touchdown games last year.
Speaker 3 (52:21):
He's really nothing special. Give me Kelsey.
Speaker 2 (52:24):
You know who else isn't anything special? Travis Kelcey. Let
me give you the eye test tells you that much.
Let me give you some numbers on Travis kelce I
think most listeners are going to find illuminating. His separation
has dropped from three point five yards last year, which
was also low for him, down to two point nine.
This puts him in the very bottom rung of separation
(52:45):
among tight ends.
Speaker 3 (52:46):
Kelsey is not catching passes downfield.
Speaker 2 (52:49):
His a dot has shrunk to six point five yards.
Speaker 3 (52:53):
That's it.
Speaker 2 (52:54):
That is his shortest a dot average distance of throwdownfield
in eleven years for Travis Kelcey. It is hard to
fill box scores on six yard catches. Also a concern
Travis kelce ranks second from the bottom in pro football
focuses tight end pass blocking. His pass blocking has gotten
(53:15):
to be a liability that keeps him off the field
on fourth down potentially. Noah Gray last Sunday played four
snaps fewer than Travis Kelsey.
Speaker 3 (53:26):
And here's the part that's really gonna not I think
fantasy uners have to consider.
Speaker 2 (53:31):
Over the past two seasons, including the playoff, Kelsey has
scored single digit PPR points in half his games. You
guys are auto starting Travis kelce and he is killing you.
He was the most chopped tight end last year in
Guillotine League's Noah Gray probably will not outscore Travis kelcey
(53:51):
the rest of the year, but Travis Kelsey is going
to hurt you more than he helped.
Speaker 3 (53:57):
Your fantasy team. Let's go back to matchups.
Speaker 2 (54:01):
The next one up is not the greatest, most exciting
matchup in the world, but nevertheless, Tennessee taking on Houston Kent.
Let's start with the Tennessee side of this. How about
the running games. We can get a little more positivity
going with Tony Pollard.
Speaker 5 (54:17):
Yeah, you know that really is I think the only
startable player on the Tennessee side of the ball is
Tony Pollard. He's getting the C grade just because he's
had sixteen plus attempts every game with a smattering of targets.
The Titans just aren't moving the ball well between the twenties,
so he doesn't really have a lot of touchdown upside either.
He's got just six red zone rushing attempts and one
TD so far on the year. As for the rest
(54:39):
of the Tennessee offense, I'm giving them a team wide
bench other than Tony Pollard, even Calvin Ridley. Cam Wht's
just throwing for one hundred and sixty nine yards per
game right now. Granted he's coming off his best at
two nineteen, but that's still not a lot to be
able to supercharge Ridley or any of these guys to
get a Fantasy relevant day. Dereck Singley is question could
(55:00):
miss this game, but I don't even think I care.
The Titans O line is the fourth worst in Pass
Pro Composite rankings, and the Texans have a really nice
pass rush between Daniel Hunter and Will Anderson, and they're
gonna get cam Ward in fits of pressure this week.
Calvin Ridley's cut just eight of his twenty targets this year,
so I'm just not interested.
Speaker 2 (55:19):
Eight of twenty is incredibly bad. One of seven last
week too.
Speaker 5 (55:23):
Yeah, yeah, it's stinky. So let's talk about a different
team instead, the Houston Texans C J.
Speaker 3 (55:30):
Stroud. He's dealing with some of his own issues over there.
Speaker 5 (55:33):
He still hasn't cleared two hundred and seven passing yards yet,
he has just two passing touchdowns on the year. He's
got the fourth lowest Big time throw rate per PFF.
He's a bench as well, until we see something a
little bit better out of him.
Speaker 3 (55:44):
Nick Chubb, I will still give a C grade too.
Speaker 5 (55:47):
He's playing more than fifty percent of the offensive snap
still even last week. He's seeding some work to Woody
Marks for sure, but Chubb does still lead the running
back room in yards per carry, rush grade, rush yards
over expectation force, mixed tackles per attempt, and explosive rush rates.
So you got to just give him a little bit
of a nod for now. Wood He Marks. I do
have a bench bench grade on, but the CN bench
(56:09):
is a little bit bolded.
Speaker 3 (56:10):
I don't know. That's strange.
Speaker 5 (56:12):
You know, his opportunities and snapcounts have been upticking every
single week last year. He was forty eight percent of
snaps eight opportunities. You know, it's one of the things
like I just need to see a little bit more
until I'm confident to get him in a lineup. But
it would be a nice breakout opportunity. Nico Collins, he
gets a B grade. Having Christian Kirk back really did
seem to take some stress off of Collins in the
passing game as far as getting bracketed by coverage. He
(56:35):
had eleven targets eight receptions for one hundred and four
yards in a score last week.
Speaker 3 (56:39):
Was really awesome.
Speaker 5 (56:40):
The great game script could be the only problem if
they do get ahead, you know, the takeaway a bit
of the passing game just by beating down on the
lowly Titans. But we'll see Christian Kirk I talked about
already in the Take a Chance on Me. I'm giving
him a C grade, but I do think there's upside
there on top of the targets. And then Schultz, don't
(57:01):
bother just bench him. He's not getting enough volume more
yards to do anything. I don't think so either. Houston
probably get picks up their first win here. That offensive
line is just you know, you know, you got all that,
you got all the momentum that c. J. Stroud had
coming out of his rookie year, and did have never
committed to making the offensive line requisite of what c J.
Speaker 3 (57:21):
Stroud showed you.
Speaker 2 (57:22):
I think that is a general office, a general manager,
front office.
Speaker 3 (57:26):
Failing it starts in the trenches. Yeah, absolutely it does.
Speaker 2 (57:29):
You know, you got a great young quarterback, go ghetto,
do whatever it takes to protect him. All right, let's
talk Ravens taking on the Chiefs. I want to start
with Derrick Henry. Fumbles in three straight games is the
lead story with Derrick Henry. After his late game fumble
last week, he didn't see another touch.
Speaker 3 (57:45):
Now, they were also in past, you know.
Speaker 2 (57:47):
Trying to come back from behind at the end of
the game, and so that was probably most of it.
And you can't obviously they're not going to bench Derrick Henry,
but you've got to watch this fumbling issue. Kansas City's
run defense was great last year. It's merely middle of
the pack so far this year. And if you look
at last week against the Giants, the north south running
stylings of Cam Skataboo was very effective. Six yards per carry.
(58:10):
Here comes Derrick Henry. Hopefully the same grade A for
Derrick Henry. Lamar Jackson's in autow A. As we turned
to the passing game for the Ravens. You'll start him
every time. And I'll note when these teams met last year,
Lamar Jackson ran for one hundred and twelve yards against
the Chiefs. Jay Flowers got the got double team for
most of last week's game. They end up throwing to
(58:30):
a shot Bateman a bunch, as he can be a
game changer. Though Jay Flowers is great and I still
like this matchup. Kansas City's got an excellent cornerback named
Trent McDuffie. He's one of the few NFL corners who
can go left, right and slot as well. Almost no
corners will play every part of the field, but Trent
McDuffie will. And I think he's gonna shadow Zay Flowers,
(58:54):
and that worries me because McDuffie's really good.
Speaker 3 (58:56):
That's why I've just got the B grade on Zay Flowers.
Speaker 2 (58:59):
I love Zay Flowers and he's great player, but I
do worry about this matchup in particular. Mark Andrews is
fascinating everybody benched Mark Andrews last week because he had
done nothing through two weeks, and then of course he
ends up going berserk, in part because of the Zay
Flowers situation that I just described in last year's meeting,
he only had fourteen yards. And worse, get this in
(59:21):
is in Mark Andrews's last six games against Kansas City,
Andy Reid has dismantled him. He's giving an average of
twenty receiving yards in his six games against Andy Reid.
Speaker 3 (59:35):
That's it.
Speaker 2 (59:36):
Kansas City ranks fourth best in fantasy points allowed to
the position. So Mark Andrews back on the bench. I
am not chasing last week's game. Let's go over to
the Kansas City side. Isaiah Pacheco and Kareem Hunt also
on the bench.
Speaker 3 (59:49):
They have looked awful.
Speaker 2 (59:51):
The Ravens, I know, just got blasted by the running
stylings of Detroit, but that was Jamior Gibbs and David Montgomery.
They they're arguably the best one two punch in the league. Well,
Pachecko and Hunt, I think of the worst one two
punch in the league. Pachecko is giving negative half a
yard over expectations per carry, so he's losing half a
(01:00:11):
yard compared to what he should be getting, and it's
an almost even split of workload between Pachecko and Hunt,
so they're cannibalizing each other.
Speaker 3 (01:00:20):
This is an avoid situation.
Speaker 2 (01:00:22):
Xavier Worthy comes back for the passing game, and I
have a little bit of worry about him protecting his shoulder.
Speaker 3 (01:00:30):
But man, did the Chiefs need is downfield speed. Patrick
Mahomes ranks twenty second in yards per pass attempt. Yuck
for Patrick Mahomes. That is not cool.
Speaker 2 (01:00:42):
Hopefully Worthy can unlock a deep passing attack here, but
we just saw a similar player, Jamison Williams, who's also
got really good speed going up against the Ravens got
completely ignored and they opted for easier down intermediate targets
That could happen to Worthy here too.
Speaker 3 (01:00:58):
I'm just going with a C grade. Xavier Worthies first
game back. Hollywood.
Speaker 2 (01:01:03):
Brown remains a plausible starter because of an increasingly good
matchup against struggling slot cornerback Marlon humph You, who got
targeted all over the field last week by Detroit.
Speaker 3 (01:01:12):
And I'm on ross Saint Brown. He has been roasted
this year.
Speaker 2 (01:01:15):
He's giving up an almost perfect passer rating in his
coverage and he's given up touchdowns in consecutive games. Hollywood
Brown running half his snaps from the slot, still a
plausible start with a C grade. I just got done
ripping Travis Kelcey. We just discussed him in detail, you
know about all his struggles. But all that said, the
(01:01:35):
Ravens are giving up the second most tight end yard
seventy three per game. Hopefully this is a bounce back
spot for Kelsey in a primo matchup. But again, you
got to look out Noah Gray cannibalizing a lot of
his usage. I've just got the C grade on Travis Kelcey.
And lastly, Patrick Mahomes just a C grade for most
of his receivers here worthies of C. Brown's a ce Trevor.
(01:01:59):
So I've really just got to see great on Patrick
Mahomes as well. The last two starting quarterbacks to face
the Ravens, that's Joe Flacco and Jared Goff. Very modest
numbers two hundred yards and one touchdown each, that's it.
So I've only got to see great on Patrick Mahomes.
He is not the auto stark he used to be.
When we come back to Fantasy Football Weekly, another big
(01:02:19):
block of matchups including the Indianapolis Colts and the Los
Angeles Rams. Will tell you more about that matchup and
if Jonathan Taylor's domination.
Speaker 3 (01:02:28):
Automatically continues when we return.
Speaker 2 (01:02:41):
Welcome back Fantasy Football Weekly, another big block o matchups.
We begin with the Indianapolis Colts taking on the Rams.
Matt Jonathan Taylor was a terror last week. Now he
goes up against probably the stoutest defense that he's seen.
We're certainly gonna start him, But what kind of expectations
do you have for John Taylor.
Speaker 4 (01:03:01):
He's the best running back in football right now. He's
got an A grade. He's also recorded the top speed
in the league this year at twenty two point three
to eight miles an hour. Dude is just cooking right now.
Daniel Jones might take a chance on me. Quarterback Michael
Pittman gets a B grade in this one as well.
Speaker 3 (01:03:19):
The Rams wide receiver numbers.
Speaker 4 (01:03:20):
Were inflated by playing the Texans and Titans in the
first two weeks. I mentioned it earlier, but the Eagles
pair wide receivers each managed a good day against this
defense last week, and Pittman is the clearer number one
wide receiver in Indy leading every category. He's the only
wide receiver with a touchdown this year, and he has two.
Alec Pierce also out with a concussion, and I don't
(01:03:41):
really want to start Josh downs. The only reason he
sees high volume is when the slot defense is the
weak spot, and that's not the case for the Rams,
as they flex safety Quinton Lake down into the slot,
and he's very good in coverage, so I'm leaving downs
on the bench. Tyler Warren gets a B grade. The
Rams haven't seen a tight end as good as Warren
(01:04:01):
this year, so their numbers look great against the position.
But I'll take the rookie averaging seven targets per game
over his first three career contests all day long. Not
gonna overthink it. Given him a B grade. Robbie, you're
ready for this one. Pooka Nakua is the fantasy Ardvark
this week. Oh, the Ardvark's back. Ah the Ardvark. We've
(01:04:24):
missed the fantasy Ardvark we really have. That's a double
A grade for Ardvark. He's about to smash Cooper Cups
all of Cooper Cup's records for most targets, catches, yards
in a season. He's gonna do it. He's averaging ten
catches in one hundred and eleven yards per game.
Speaker 3 (01:04:39):
Amazing.
Speaker 4 (01:04:40):
Crazy And by the way, slot corner Kenny Moore for
the Colts, he's expected to be out in this one.
Speaker 3 (01:04:46):
Houkah is in a good spot.
Speaker 4 (01:04:48):
By the way, DeVante Adams, he's pretty tricky this week.
He did not practice Wednesday or Thursday with a hamstring injury.
I mean, if he's active, I think you can start him.
But I'm scared off by he's on a thirty two
year old wide out a little bit here. Still, his
Fantasy Life utilization scores an eighty six. That's seventh in
best amongst wide receivers. So I'll give him a c.
(01:05:11):
But if you have better options, start them instead. But
the Colts have allowed the eleventh most receptions to wide
receivers this year. Matthew Stafford gets you like two fifty
to two in every game. I'm not sure he can
do it this week. The Colts are allowing under two
hundred per game to oppose. In quarterbacks, both Tua and
cam Ward had nothing but garbage time to do damage
(01:05:32):
with and they barely did anything. So I have to
admit I don't have a super strong read on this one.
Stafford's like quarterback sixteen. The Colts seem good on paper,
but we're not super sure. I'm just gonna throw a
C grade on Stafford and move on. And for the
running game, Blake korm Was might take a chance on
me runner, But I still love Kyrin Williams. He's getting
twenty one touches per game, most of them on the ground,
(01:05:54):
and the Colts are giving up four point six yards
per carrying about a touchdown per game to opposing backs.
One hundred yards in a score seems imminent. Kyron gets
an a.
Speaker 2 (01:06:04):
All right, let's go over to Jaguars taking on the
forty nine ers Kent. This Jaguar passing offense has been
a real bummer in a lot of ways. Trevor Lawrence
hasn't looked great. They're splitting up work a lot of
different ways. Brian Thomas has been among the most disappointing
players in fantasy football.
Speaker 3 (01:06:19):
Where do you want to start with this Jaguars passing game?
Speaker 5 (01:06:22):
Well, I want to start with despising Shane Waldron once
again because it's come into play. But you know, I
mean Trevor Lawrence hasn't been doing a lot for himself
either here, but he does get a C grade simply
on the back of the forty nine Ers injury report
being ginormous, including Joey Bosa being out for the year,
so there could be some broken plays in order.
Speaker 3 (01:06:41):
Lawrence has two hundred twenty three yards per game.
Speaker 5 (01:06:43):
He's got four touchdowns but also four interceptions through three games,
and the rushing really hasn't been as much as he's
done in years past, so I am hoping that he
can bump that up a little bit against this broken
forty nine Ers defense. In the running game, Travis Etn,
I'm gonna give him a C grade. He's still to
the ball enough to play, but does not feel great.
He has fourteen attempts or more and two or more
(01:07:06):
targets per game every game this year. His yards per
carry each week, though, has dropped from eight point nine
to five point one to three point five in the
last three weeks, so it's getting worse as time goes on.
Leaning over to the other side of the backfield, base
Shall Tuton, I am also going to give a C
grade too. He only had seven opportunities last week, but
he has scored in each of the last two games now,
(01:07:29):
so the key track. He did have a limited practice
on Friday. I don't think he's quite a game time decision,
but something worth to keep an eye on. On the
receiver side of things. Brian Thomas Junior a C grade.
He's been dealing with a lot of struggles in terms
of drops and route commitment, putting his body on the
line for the ball. He's been through a lot of
weird stuff so far this season. His only game above
(01:07:51):
seven targets was against that week Bengals defense, and he
hasn't caught more than four balls in a game yet
this year, so we just want to see it before
we start bumping his grades up.
Speaker 3 (01:08:00):
He's out a Sea Travis.
Speaker 5 (01:08:01):
Hunter we talked about in Three Tough Questions, Grab the Diapers.
He's a bench over on the San Francisco side of things.
We did get a word on Friday that brock Party
will be playing. His injury designation is dropped. I am
going to give him a C grade because the Jaguars
pass defense is kind of sneaky good. They're second in
EPA per play allowed and the seventh fewest explosive passing
(01:08:26):
plays allowed through three weeks, so it might be a
little bit of a struggle. He had two touchdowns two
interceptions in week one, so he's also got two semi
injured receivers in Ricky Piersoll and Jennings Juwan Jennings, so
we'll see if that affects things as well.
Speaker 3 (01:08:41):
Christian McAffrey gets.
Speaker 5 (01:08:42):
An A grade running back three eighteen plus points every
week so far.
Speaker 3 (01:08:47):
He's good.
Speaker 5 (01:08:48):
Ricky Piersoll, you know, talking about the injury, it could
affect things, but if he does suit up and play,
he gets a B grade.
Speaker 3 (01:08:53):
He's picking up right where he left off last season.
Speaker 5 (01:08:56):
Eight targets, six receptions, ninety three and a half receiving
yards per game so far this year. The touchdowns will come.
He hasn't had any yet, but with those kind of
numbers they come in time. Juwan Jennings, I will give
a C grade to last week. He had ten targets,
he only caught five of them, but for eighty nine
and a score, so it was pretty nice if you
did start him this week. However, he had two do
not practice and then followed with a limited practice. And
(01:09:18):
this was an ankle injury, which is a new injury
compared to the shoulder slash tow.
Speaker 3 (01:09:23):
I believe it was previously.
Speaker 5 (01:09:25):
So he's dealing with lots of injuries right now and
could affect things if he plays.
Speaker 3 (01:09:29):
He's a sea though.
Speaker 2 (01:09:31):
Juwan Jennings one of my favorite players. Man, is he
hard to roster. It's just a never ending cavalcade of injuries.
Speaker 3 (01:09:39):
Questionable.
Speaker 2 (01:09:39):
You never know what to expect with him, and that
you know, I'd hate rolling into Sundays never knowing if
Juwan Jennings is going to be dragging one leg behind him,
is he going to finish the game? Is he going
to start the game? Massive bummer for an otherwise really
good player. Chicago takes on the Raiders, and let's start
with DeAndre Swift. Speaking of injury issues, hip injury. He's
a pot game time decision the way he's shaping up.
(01:10:02):
Pick up Kyle Mnungai. I think we've said this every
single week he's available in the league, Go pick him up.
If Swift can't go, Manungui potentially crushes the Cowboys defense
and then maybe never looks back as the starter. But
here's DeAndre Swift doing nothing with the opportunity. He's only
averaging three and a half yards per carry. He's only
broken five tackles all year. That's it.
Speaker 3 (01:10:23):
Now.
Speaker 2 (01:10:23):
The Raiders like the one really good thing they're doing
as a team is their run defense has been shockingly good.
Except for Jeremy McNichols ripping off that sixty yarder last week.
No back his top thirty nine yards against the Raiders.
I mean, you wouldn't think that would be the case.
They're giving up just three and a half yards per
carry against them, and I've got DeAndre Swift on just
(01:10:45):
the C grade. But again, things could be brewing here.
He has not been good enough. Let's go over to
the passing game. Roma dunes it. I think have we, guys,
have we got to a point where you can just
say he's an obvious A.
Speaker 3 (01:10:57):
I don't have to elaborate anymore.
Speaker 2 (01:11:02):
Good touchdowns In all three games, Dunsay's turned into the
focal point of the passing offense.
Speaker 3 (01:11:07):
He is in A grade.
Speaker 2 (01:11:09):
DJ Moore has moved into the beta receiver role, but
he continues to be involved enough that I think you
can continue to start him, especially this week easy match.
Raiders have allowed the third most wide receiver yards, third
most wide receiver touchdowns. A B grade for Dj Moore,
Luther Burden, Olamedes a Chais, col Comet, Colesland, Lovelin none
(01:11:30):
getting enough usage to warrant to start here and do
not chase Luther Burden's big game last week. He was
only on the field for nine passing snaps. That is
not enough at all.
Speaker 3 (01:11:41):
Caleb Williams is your reigning NFC Offensive Player of the
Year and the Raiders are seeing the fourth most quarterback rushes.
Williams should ship in some.
Speaker 2 (01:11:51):
Help on the ground like Marcus maryx week he had
sixty He had six carries, forty rushing yards and a touchdown.
I think Caleb Williams could fall into that kind of
spot as well. And if I love a Dunsay and
I like DJ Moore, Caleb Williams comes in with a
B grade for this game. All right, Let's go to
Ashton Genty and roll up our sleeves on this conundrum
right here. So far, one hundred and fifty four rushing yards,
(01:12:15):
one hundred and fifty five rushing yards after contact. Unbelievable
stat right there. The Raiders have the worst run blocking
line according to ESPN's run block win rate, and secretly
Genty's playing pretty well. He has the fourth most broken
tackles in the league. I told you DeAndre Swift has
five to this point. Ashen Genty has thirteen broken tackles
(01:12:38):
right now. To give you an area of comparison. He's
playing well. His offensive line is just terrible. The Bears though,
a great opportunity to get right if you can get
any help.
Speaker 3 (01:12:49):
From his offensive line.
Speaker 2 (01:12:50):
Chicago allowing the second most rushing yards and the fifth
most rushing yards per carry almost five and a half
per carry, So I think Ashon Genty puts it all
together this week. I've got a B grade on him
just to be safe, but I don't hesitate to start
Jen d this week. Go over to the passing game.
Jacoby Myers might be an elite start this week. If
(01:13:14):
Bear's slock corner Kyler Gordon does not play, he is questionable.
Speaker 3 (01:13:18):
He's shaping up as a game time decision.
Speaker 2 (01:13:20):
His backup Nick McCloud, who's played the better part of
two and a half games, has allowed two scores in
those two and a half games and an eighty three
percent completion rate. I love this opportunity for Jacoby Myers,
and Chicago's allowed the second most PPR points to slot receivers.
Myers has had ten or more targets in two of
(01:13:40):
three games. An A grade for Jacoby Myers if Gordon
doesn't go, and.
Speaker 3 (01:13:45):
A B grade if Kyler Gordon does go.
Speaker 2 (01:13:48):
Trey Tucker, Raiders receiver, had three touchdowns last week, and
I know the reaction is going to be, well, I
don't want to chase last week's box score. Well, against
this defense, you can chase last week's box score. He's
gonna go up against backup cornerback Nashan Wright, who has
allowed a touchdown in back to back games.
Speaker 3 (01:14:05):
With Jalen Johnson out be great for Trey Tucker.
Speaker 2 (01:14:08):
And if you're looking for a deep dart throw, I've
got a C grade on Dive Oden. He is a
low volume, all or nothing speedster, so you totally got
to pick your spots. But this is the one two
weeks ago against Chicago, the very similarly built, low volume,
all or nothing speedster Jamison Williams turned two catches into
(01:14:30):
one hundred and eight yards and a touchdown. Dante Thornton
could do something like that here. He is a nice
DFS dart throw. Dante Thornton C grade. Brock Bowers comes
in with an A grade. With linebacker TJ. Edwards expected
to miss the game, it is a great matchup for Bowers.
The Bears have been rocked by tight ends in consecutive weeks,
including a thirteen catch game last week by Jake Ferguson,
(01:14:52):
and Bowers should be healthier off that knee injury that
is now three weeks old. So Bowers is an easy
A grade for me, and that leaves us with Geno Smith.
His receivers have got two A grades, a B grade
and a C grade. That puts Gino into a nice spot.
He was your take a chance, I mean quarterback Kent
and I agree B grade on Geno Smith. All right,
(01:15:12):
let's work in one last matchup into this segment, Matt.
That is you with the Green Bay Packers taking on
the Dallas Cowboys and what should be a one sided affair.
Speaker 4 (01:15:22):
Yeah, it looks like it. I have a B grade
on Josh Jacob. His streak of eleven straight games with
a touchdown ended last week in Cleveland, but Dallas has
allowed the top running back on two of the three
teams they faced to find the end zone this year.
Problem is Jacob's maybe his offensive line. They haven't worked
well together this year. He has a league worst negative
(01:15:43):
fifty three yards over expectation, which means the least efficient
runner in the league this year. So Josh Jacobs something right.
Jordan Love, on the other hand, he's an A grade.
This is a pure matchup A grade here. In the
last two weeks. Dallas allowed Russell Wilson to go for
four fifty and three and he's on the bench now.
(01:16:05):
And Caleb Williams, who might have been one very bad
start away from the bench, had two ninety eight and four.
So a grade for Love, a grade for Tucker Craft
as well. Dallas is the opponent. Here's what they've done
against tight ends. Goddard caught all seven of his targets
for forty four yards. Theo Johnson had a career day
of four catches in thirty four yards.
Speaker 3 (01:16:26):
Cole Comet scored.
Speaker 4 (01:16:27):
Colston Loveland had a thirty one yard reception, so they
haven't really faced a player of Craft's talent yet. He
was silenced by the Browns, but were only a week
removed from six for one twenty four in a score.
Dontavian Wicks was charges take a chance on me wide receiver,
So let's talk Matthew Golden and Romeo Dobbs. I'm gonna
give them both C grades. We know how bad the
(01:16:48):
Bears secondary, how bad the Bears made this secondary look
last week and the Giant week before.
Speaker 3 (01:16:54):
One of these guys is gonna break free for a
long touchdown. Though.
Speaker 4 (01:16:58):
The Cowboys have allowed thirteen recepts of over twenty yards
and a league high six receptions of over forty yards.
So who has the biggest A dot here? It's pretty close.
Dobbs leads the team with sixteen point two, Golden right
behind him at fifteen point six, so I'll give I'm
actually gonna upgrade Dobbs to a B grade. He's been
(01:17:18):
a a little bit better. He's been a zone beater
in his career, and Eberflus's defense is playing zone at
a ninety percent clip. Dak Prescott gets a C grade
against the best pass defense in the league. The Packers
are seeing the fifth most passing attempts in the league,
but they're allowing the sixth fewest yards. Game script should
be having passing workload for Dak, though, that is if
(01:17:39):
he doesn't get killed by Micah Parsons Jake Ferguson. He
gets an A grade, averaging eleven targets per game, and
he's the preferred DAK target outside of CD Lamb, who's
out for a few weeks. So what's more, the Packers'
one big weakness seems to be the tight end. Laporta
went for seventy nine, Ertz for sixty four in a score.
(01:17:59):
The tight end combo found their way to eight catches
and sixty five yards last week. So Ferguson, fire him up.
Cavante Turpin was my take a chance on me. Wide
receiver George Pickens and Jalen Tolbert, they are also Cowboys
wide receivers.
Speaker 3 (01:18:14):
I'll give Pickens a B grade.
Speaker 4 (01:18:16):
He's been targeted nine times in two straight weeks and
put up twin box scores nine corect same box for
two weeks in a row, five catches, sixty eight yards,
one touchdown two weeks in a row, consistency calling it
for three. Yeah, let's go for it, Toby, I'll leave
on the bench. I like Turpin, Pickens, and Ferguson. I
don't think we can see four receivers look that good
(01:18:39):
against this Packer defense. And finally, Javante Williams sneakily seventh
among running backs in the league in receptions so far
this year, just over four receptions per game, and the
Packers have allowed the third most receptions to opposing backs.
Other than that, it's tough sledding against this Packers defense.
They're basically top five in every other category against the run.
(01:19:01):
So I'll just throw a C grade on Williams, mostly
based on the receiving potential.
Speaker 3 (01:19:05):
But he's been pretty good this year. I can eat
crow on that one. When we come back, we will
do premature speculation.
Speaker 2 (01:19:13):
We'll jump in the Fantasy Football Weekly time Machine and
we will take a look at tight end, three different
tight ends. Whoever you need a tight end, here's your
opportunity to grab one of three premature speculation tight ends
when we continue Fantasy Football Weekly.
Speaker 6 (01:19:58):
File.
Speaker 2 (01:19:58):
Things that Fantasy Football Weekly, Paul Churchi and Matt Harrison
ken blyrock with you. This is a special edition of
Premature Speculation. I don't know that we've ever had three
tight ends a premature speculation.
Speaker 3 (01:20:11):
Everybody needs a tight end.
Speaker 2 (01:20:12):
We're gonna jump in the Fantasy Football Weekly time Machine
and tell you guys to pick up now that everybody
else to be trying to pick up next week, Matt Harrison,
who is your premature speculation tight end?
Speaker 4 (01:20:22):
I've got Jatavian Sanders of the Carolina Panthers. In week two,
he had nine targets, turned it into seven catches in
fifty four yards. Didn't see many passes last week as
the Panthers actually didn't.
Speaker 3 (01:20:33):
Need to throw the ball at all. I'm gonna win
over the Falcons. But here's what I like.
Speaker 4 (01:20:39):
This week he gets the Patriots, They've allowed the tenth
most receiving yards to tight ends. Next week he gets
the Dolphins, who might have the worst tight end defense
in the league. Then Dallas the week after that, and
we know how bad their secondary has been. So for
at least the next three weeks, he's kind of viable,
kind of interesting, and if he goes off in one
of those weeks, you might already have him on your roster.
Speaker 2 (01:21:00):
I'm gonna give him a retroactive C grade. Jatavian Sanders.
Back to that matchup, Kent.
Speaker 3 (01:21:04):
Your premature speculation tight end.
Speaker 5 (01:21:07):
Yeah, I'm gonna go with the Rendez Gatz in the
second and Matt did give him a starting grade. I
believe it was a sea of will Disley is out
again this week and last week when he was out
he got five to seven targets, two of which were
in the red zone for forty six yards. In his
two full seasons at Syracuse, he had at least nine
hundred thirty four yards and six touchdowns. He's got some
upside in the receiving game. He's got the highest PFF
(01:21:28):
for receiving grade and yards per route run among tart
tight ends.
Speaker 2 (01:21:32):
So he's looking good so far. Ronde Gadston, it is
very promising for him. I remember covering his dad, which
tells you how long I've been doing this. My premiature
speculation players Chig a konqual somebody have never normally loved,
but rookie quarterbacks like to dump off to their tight end,
and we're starting to see that with increasing catches in
three straight games. And Chick's got zero competition for playing
(01:21:53):
time in Tennessee. I'm guessing there is a single listener
right now who knows the name of the backup tight
end behind Chigo Konku in Tennessee. The Titans are getting
very little production from Tyler Lockett, spotty production from Calvin Ridley.
Chig might have an opportunity here and new head new
play caller Bo Hart agree when he had a brief
(01:22:14):
Stint a nine game Stint is a play caller for
the Raiders. He increased the tight end usage for the
Raiders by sixty six percent over his nine games as
play caller, So an opportunity there. All right, let's go
to your final matchup, Kent, and that is the Jets
taking on the Dolphins. Not a lot to talk about
with the Jets, but let's go with maybe the high
water mark here the best player Brese Hall. As we
(01:22:37):
start with the Jets side. Yeah, he's going to get
a B grade here.
Speaker 5 (01:22:40):
The rushing attempts are dwindling, but he's at least thirteen
opportunities every game this year, and he's got three plus
targets each week, including six last week, so he liked that.
Speaker 3 (01:22:48):
For the PPR receiving floor.
Speaker 5 (01:22:50):
The Dolphins are bout a five in explosive plays allowed
for both rushing and passing, so he can hit them
either way. Justin fields I believe will play in this game.
He's logged two full practices. He's still in the cushion protocol.
It's a Monday night football game, so we'll see. But
This Dolphins cornerback room is so bad we can't even
pick on Storm Duck anymore.
Speaker 3 (01:23:06):
He's not even gonna play in this game. You know.
Speaker 5 (01:23:09):
He had a good Week one with three total touchdowns,
so if he plays, it's a bet. If it is
Tarrod Taylor for some reason, I'll just give him a
C grade as kind of a downgrade over fields, and
then Garrett Wilson.
Speaker 3 (01:23:19):
Will be catching the ball from one of them.
Speaker 5 (01:23:20):
He caught ten of twelve last week for eighty four
and a score from Tarrod Taylor. And quick quiz, who's
the second receiver in targets on the Jets?
Speaker 3 (01:23:28):
Can you name him for Lazard?
Speaker 5 (01:23:31):
No, it is Minnesota's own Tyler Johnson. So that's the
state of the situation over there. Garret Wilson gets an
A grade over on Miami side of the ball, Tua
turn to ball Ova is going to get a C grade.
He's had two touchdowns each of the last two weeks,
but really that's the highlight for him. Only week two,
he's had more than one hundred and forty six passing yards.
(01:23:51):
He's got the third worst six point three percent turnover
worthy play rate per PFF. The Jets d is one
of five teams without an interception though, so it's stoppable
force movable object devon eighth. Chan is going against a
tough rut. Jets run in success rate fifth best, but
they do allow a decent amount of explosive plays and
that's eight Chane's game. So he's hit fifteen plus Miles
(01:24:13):
Prower on thirty three percent of his carries this year.
Speaker 3 (01:24:15):
He's in a good spot. That's a B grade. Olie
Gordon probably just still leaving him on the bench.
Speaker 5 (01:24:19):
He's getting some red zone work, but he's still not
above the double digit touches. Tyreek Hill C grade. He's
going against Sauce Gardner. The touchdown kind of bailed him
out last week. He caught five of ten for forty
nine yards, and he's only had two red zone targets
this year. Jalen Waddle, I wanted to say bench, but
I'll still give him a seed just because he's getting touchdowns.
He still hasn't top six targets yet, and he is
(01:24:42):
questionable with his so shoulder injury. So if he starts,
I'm playing, I guess, but don't feel great about it now.
Speaker 2 (01:24:49):
Unfortunately, Tyreek Hill maybe can avoid Sauce Gardner by going
into the slot, and so I'm a little more optimistic
about him than Chary. But yeah, our last matchup is
the Bengals and the Broncos. A rare B grade for
Chase for Jamar Chase because Jake Browning is playing behind
the league's worst offensive line and that is really tough
(01:25:10):
to overcome even if you're a great player like Chase.
But you also have to beat out Patrick Surtan and
Riley Moss, arguably the best duo of cornerbacks in the league.
Speaker 3 (01:25:21):
Denver is only allowed one wide receiver touchdown and opposing
number one receivers against Denver have gotten twenty seven yards,
forty yards, and forty one yards so far.
Speaker 2 (01:25:33):
B grade on Jamar Chase and t Higgins barely a
C grade, and it's only because he's a great player.
He's wide receiver sixty in Fantasy points six to zero
now one six and a brutal matchup because he gets
whichever Riley Moss or Patrick Surtan isn't being used up
by Jamar Chase right now. The Broncos allowing the sixth
fewest PPR points to wide receivers, So just the C
(01:25:57):
grade on T Higgins and the old other Bengal you
can about is Chase Brown, who I advocated for one
week ago. But this Bengals offensive line is just even
worse than I thought. They ranked twenty seventh in run
block win rate and they ranked dead last in run
blocking by Pro Football Focus. I remain convinced Chase Brown
is a good player stuck in a bad situation. Denver
(01:26:20):
is such a good passing defense. The teams are running
on them a lot, and so I'm hoping he's that
Chase Brown gets a bunch of carries here through three weeks.
Tony Pollard in week one had eighteen carries, Jonathan Taylor
had twenty five carries, and Omarion Hampton had nineteen carries
against Denver. So I'm hoping, just through sheer volume, Chase
Brown can be good here. And all three of those
(01:26:41):
guys got good utilization in the receiving game, so I've
still I've got a secret in Chase Brown.
Speaker 3 (01:26:47):
I thought he was gonna be great all season.
Speaker 2 (01:26:48):
It hasn't worked out, but this is a nice opportunity
for him. All right, let's flip over to the Ravens. Sorry,
the Broncos side JK. Dobbins comes in with an A
gray in this game. The Bengals run defense really bad.
They're twenty fifth in ESPN's run stuff win rate and
thirty first in Fantasy points allowed.
Speaker 3 (01:27:09):
JK.
Speaker 2 (01:27:10):
Dobbins is a clear alpha runner for the Bengals, getting
roughly double the snaps of any Broncos runner, quadruple the
Carrey's of any other Broncos runner. And teams are staking
big leads on the Bengals and they're running the ball.
They've seen the fourth most rushes against twenty five per game.
I really like JK. Dobbins in this one and R. J.
Speaker 3 (01:27:28):
Harvey.
Speaker 2 (01:27:28):
If I love Dobbins that much, I can't. There's not
enough happening for RJ.
Speaker 3 (01:27:32):
Harvey. He is on the bench in the receiving game.
Courtland Sutton scored in the last year's meeting between these games,
and I like this matchup against Cam Taylor Britt, the
gambling cornerback for the Bengals. Last year, Taylor Britt allowed
the most touchdowns of any player, and Sutton always used
in the end zone a lot. He has a healthy
(01:27:52):
thirty three percent end zone target rate, so I like
cut Sutton to score in this one. Don't forget about
Troy Franklin.
Speaker 2 (01:27:58):
His usage exploded to two weeks ago, came back to
earth last week. He is really fast, so is cornerback
Dax Hill for the Bengals, who might shadow him, but
still a nice opportunity here against a team that has
struggled against receivers.
Speaker 3 (01:28:14):
I still think Ry.
Speaker 2 (01:28:14):
Franklin is chartable with a few grade and last Fleet
Bony as disappointing as any fantasy quarterback has been, but
startable because of the opponent here. The Bengals better pass
defense than run defense, But like Carson Wentz who turned
twenty passes into a couple of touchdowns, I could see
bon Nicks managing to find the end zone through the air,
(01:28:35):
maybe through the ground as well, and he remains startable
with just Ac Bright.
Speaker 3 (01:28:40):
Many thanks to kat Wyrock, who.
Speaker 2 (01:28:42):
Did a great job in this particular show, as usual
Matt Harrison, our technical guidance from Robbie Rosenhaus as well.
Speaker 3 (01:28:48):
Best of luck everybody in Week four.
Speaker 2 (01:28:50):
We'll tak to you next week for more Fantasy Football Weekly,
but bye everyone.
