Speaker 1 (00:01):
Time now for Fantasy Football Weekly from iHeartRadio, your weekly
source for the nation's best fantasy speculation and advice. Now,
along with the guys from dat leagues dot com, here's
your host, Paul Judge.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
Welcome to season thirty one of Fantasy Football Weekly. Yes,
we're getting into grandparents' age at this point, so it's
only appropriate that we have the original recipe with us,
that is Matt Harrison and Brian Johnson.

Speaker 3 (00:37):
Hey, guys, how many thirty one year old grandparents are
out there?

Speaker 2 (00:41):
Probably a disturbing number of thirty one year old grandparents,
But we have now covered on this show the players
and now their kids that have come up.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
I mean that's in some cases.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
A while ago there was Altoon and his kid who
was in Remember what was Altoon's kidd to I believe right, yeah, Nick, Nicktoon, Yeah,
in the in the league for just a flash in
a moment.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
Yeah. Now when Shadeur Sanders maybe yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
Probably true over the course of thirty one years, so
kind of like grandparents, but not you are listeners. We
are happy to have all of you here, no matter
the age, even what it would be greatest we had
whole families listening to Fantasy Football Weekly. The grandparents, the parents,
and the kids all listening Fantasy Football Weekly for your

to our flag ships, ship Station k fa N in
Minneapolis and everywhere else where you are hearing Fantasy Football
Weekly over the air. This is our first two hour
version of Fantasy Football Weekly. Matt Brian, Yeah, We've got

(01:53):
a ton of stuff to get to. We're going to
talk about the one thing you need to know about
each team's off season. So here's what these teams did
in the offseason. If you haven't been paying attention to
the NFL very closely, here's the key.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
Thing that you need to know. We'll go through our
peacock off.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
This is where we give two bold predictions per person.

Speaker 3 (02:13):
Mine.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
I'm fin assured are both going to come to fruition.
We're gonna talk about players we love but don't draft,
love the player, hate the adp our blacklist player players
we do not like and never draft, and then we'll
answer three tough questions and give out our sleepers of
the week. Ready to roll up our sleeps. Guys, Let's

(02:35):
go all the way up, all the way up. Are
you gonna tear off the sleeves.

Speaker 4 (02:39):
At the at the shoulder, Yeah, I'm gonna go beyond
Bill Belichick all the way.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
Love it. This week, Fantasy Football Training Camp.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
Fantasy Football Training Camp Fantasy Football Weekly will be live
at Treasure Island Resort and Casino and Minnesota.

Speaker 3 (02:57):
We encourage you to come. It is free.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
You'll be able to see a live Fantasy Football Weekly.
Brian will be there, Matt will be there. The whole
gang's going to be there. We're excited to talk to
you and see you in person. Treasure Island, Friday the fifteenth.
It is free, beginning at six o'clock. Super excited. Everybody
will be there and hopefully including you. Let's go through
the off season moves that you need to know for

(03:20):
each team.

Speaker 3 (03:21):
We begin with.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
I believe I think it's Matt who has the Bills?
Am I correct about that? Matt correct? The bar Bills.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
The wide receiver two battle behind. Khalil Shakir is in
full swing. Stop trying to make Joshua Palmer a thing,
though he followed Joey Bosa over to Buffalo He's challenging
keyon Coleman for reps, and a Bill reporter called Palmer
the most exciting newcomer to the offense. Palmer had more
catches than Coleman last year, and that was in a
down year. While Coleman is a mid round pick in drafts,

(03:55):
Palmer isn't going to the twelfth round. So if you
want that second Bills wide receiver, keep Josh Palmer on
your radar.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
All right, Brian, what's the one thing people need to
know about the Dolphins offseason?

Speaker 4 (04:08):
A few years ago in the preseason I called out
an unknown undrafted tight end named Darren Waller as my
sleeper and.

Speaker 5 (04:15):
You can check the check the time stamps.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
Where's the pack for that?

Speaker 5 (04:19):
I ask, and guess there is. It's good to hear that,
bring them off.

Speaker 4 (04:24):
But Darren Waller back with the Dolphins. I'm not going
to really talk about that though. I'm not going to
tout Waller too much here.

Speaker 5 (04:30):
Really, the one thing you need to do about the Dolphins.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
Camp right now is we want to to stay healthy,
of course, but right now, Tyreek Hill has been sliding
down draft boards since the early spring. He's a kind
of like a mid to late third round pick almost
right now, and he's sort of dealing with an undisclosed
injury at the moment. But uh, really looking like an
ultimate boom bust player right now. But if he can
return to form and you're getting him in the.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
Early third, mid third.

Speaker 4 (04:56):
Uh, he's the guy I'm I'm rolling the dice on.
So it's really just we want the Dolphins to stay healthy.
But Tyreek Hill pretty cheap for that upside.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
But there is a risk there. Tyreek Hill is thirty
one years old.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
He's at an age where I think I'm going to
get out a year too early rather than a year
too late.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
Let's go to the Jets.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
Your new starting quarterback is Justin Fields with the stylistically
similar Tyrod Taylor as his backup. Fields has always been
a polarizing fantasy commodity. He is a subpar passer, you
got to deal with a lot of one hundred sixty
yard passing games, but his rushing almost.

Speaker 3 (05:33):
Always gives you that reliable floor. So one way or.

Speaker 2 (05:37):
Another, pretty good, by the way, pretty good trade for
guillotine use more so I think than standard leagues, And
every now and again both of them hit for Justin
Fields and he explodes well. He did in Week four
of last year three hundred and twelve passing yards, one
passing touchdown, two rushing touchdowns. Soevery now and again everything
comes together for Fields, but wasn't able to hold that
job last year. Probably holds it here because Tyrod Taylor

(05:59):
is not much a threat. Last year, Fields started the
first six games of the year, and depending on your
scoring system, he was writing like the QB seven range,
So rushing breaks your scoring system open for quarterbacks and
justin Fields. Now the Jets news starter, Matt, let's go
to the Cowboys.

Speaker 3 (06:20):
Yeah, Rookie running back Jaden Blue is starting to get
reps with the first team offense in practice. He has
to beat out two really good veterans and Javonte Williams
Miles Sanders. I mean, both of those guys are just
warm bodies. At this point, a beat writer for the
Cowboys set it's likely Blue as the first back out
in the regular season, then Sanders and then Williams, and

(06:44):
they're being drafted in the exact opposite order.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
Blue has had a ton of mixed reaction. You know
who does not like him? For n Eystrom notes that
Blue was not somebody you could even get reliable carries
on his own college teams. Many opportunities to become a
workhorse back, never took it. Thora is very nervous about Blue.
I think the situation is one to avoid. Brian. Let's
go to the Eagles. What's the one thing from the

(07:11):
offseason people need to know?

Speaker 4 (07:12):
I just want to let it be noted. I am
team Miles Sanders all the way. That is the running
back you want on the Cowboys.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
The Eagles planting the flag on Miles Sanders, Wow, old
move right now?

Speaker 5 (07:24):
Coming back? I mean you get them on the cheap.
That's that's the plush of Sanders.

Speaker 4 (07:28):
But anyway to the Eagles, Miles Sanders old team. Not
a lot has changed here unless you want to talk
about AJ Dillon coming in. He was getting some kind
of steam early on, but I haven't heard much recently.
Never bought into it. How really with the Eagles, it's
are you gonna pay the steep price for Saquon Barkley
after getting him like in the late second round last year?

Speaker 5 (07:46):
An absolute league winner for anyone who drafted him.

Speaker 4 (07:48):
If if you lost with Saquon Barkley, then you might
want to consider a new hobby.

Speaker 5 (07:52):
Outside of fantasy football.

Speaker 4 (07:53):
Now you got to pay a top five pick for Barkley,
I say, I'm still paying up.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
I think he's got in the tank for sure.

Speaker 4 (08:01):
The Eagles run the ball almost sixty percent of the time.
That's not going to change behind arguably the best defense
in the NFL. If the push Toush got banned, Barkley
is your number one pick overall. In my mind, there's
still the push tush, but it's really are you going
to pay up for Barkley? I'm saying yes, there are
some other Eagles that are more expensive I don't like.
We'll talk about them later, but for me, it's all

(08:22):
about Barkley.

Speaker 3 (08:22):
Is he worth it? And I still think he is.

Speaker 2 (08:25):
There was really not a lot to talk about with
the Eagles in their offseason, so I commend you for
finding some angle right there. I'll note this Thursday night,
Tanner McKey, their backup quarterback look great, and I'm not
putting you never put too much stock into a week
one performance by backups, but he made some NFL caliber
passes and that makes me feel a little bit better
about this offense. In case, for God forbid, anything happens

(08:47):
that Jalen hurts back.

Speaker 3 (08:50):
To the AFC East for a moment.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
With the Patriots, the apparent lead wide out for Drake
May is Stefan Diggs. Despite his age thirty one years old,
he has back in really fine fashion from his Week
eight ACL He's been running with the first team offense
all training camp, and Diggs has very little competition for
playing time. Pop Douglas is going to be the slot receiver,

(09:12):
and then it's just Mac Hollands, a journeyman, Kaishawn Booty,
and third round rookie Kyle Williams who's been all over
the place with good and bad plays that it looks
like Stefan Diggs fully recovered and gonna walk right into
the wide receiver one job for the Patriots.

Speaker 3 (09:29):
Let's go to our next team, that is the Washington Commanders, Matt,
the Washington Commander's receiver room is different right now. First off,
Terry McLaurin, good old Terry McLaurin. He asked for a
trade and he's holding out. He was a top seven
wide receiver and basically every scoring system last year and

(09:49):
is Washington's real only deep threat. They did add Deebo
Samuel to the offense too, but he's more of a
yak guy, and I'm a little nervous for Jayden Daniel's
receiver room right here?

Speaker 4 (10:03):
Do you mean yak because he throws up because he's
so out of shape. He looks in great shape this year,
not so much last year. No, A, well, I think
you mean that.

Speaker 3 (10:15):
I don't know. I assume you're not.

Speaker 2 (10:17):
Don't mean that literally because obviously Deebo Samuel has looked
slow and overweight. So yeah, heck yeah, plot I'm reading
different hype plotting out. Plotting is a good way to
describe Deebo Samuel right now.

Speaker 3 (10:32):
Well, you know, maybe camp will drop.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
He'll drop some pounds over the course of camp, which
would be helpful. Let's go to the Carolina Panthers, Brian.

Speaker 3 (10:39):
Yeah, my hometown Carolina Panthers.

Speaker 4 (10:42):
They have too many wide receivers all of a sudden,
after having zero they have. They drafted Ted AOA. Don't
call me Ted McMillan in the first round. He wants
to go by T mac By the way, I.

Speaker 3 (10:52):
Can't do that.

Speaker 5 (10:53):
Tracy McGrady WI always be T mac to me.

Speaker 4 (10:57):
I'll call him T mac here TM Max Xavier like
first round pick last year, Adam.

Speaker 5 (11:02):
Fieln still got it going on.

Speaker 4 (11:04):
Jalen cocher Thor's guy broke out, Jimmy Horn Junior was
getting praised, Joe horn'son charge.

Speaker 3 (11:10):
You were talking about.

Speaker 6 (11:11):
The back in Grandparent Most Hunter renfro is back with
decent odds for that about the laiter of the year.
So outside of t mac, all these guys are super cheap,
including Bryce.

Speaker 5 (11:25):
Young, who I will talk about more later.

Speaker 4 (11:27):
So I'm there's a lot of excitement at least around
the offense in Carolina. The defense sucks, that makes the
offense even more excitable. So I'm excited about the Panthers
after a year ago. Don't even talk about him around here,
but there's a there's a buzz, so there should be
in fantasyland too.

Speaker 3 (11:45):
Let's go to the New York Giants.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
Your new starting quarterback is Russell Wilson with Jamis Winston
backing him up. And look, Wilson just brings stability, maybe
not explosiveness anymore to the quarterback position. Also note that
the team drafted Jackson Dart in the first round, but
he is expected to get starter reps all year. In fact,
when asked about Dart's role this year, Giants general manager

(12:07):
this week, Joe Shane said, there's real value in sitting
and learning, and so that tells you where Jackson Dart,
what Jackson Dart is looking at. That is a long
term move for the Giants, and Russell Wilson is your
new quarterback.

Speaker 3 (12:19):
There you could say that Joe Shane about sitting in there. Yeah,
he's not gonna be around either.

Speaker 2 (12:25):
He's going to be sitting and learning as well from
his couch before too long. Great point to go to
the Falcons, Matt. What's the one thing people need to
know from the offseason.

Speaker 3 (12:34):
Michael Pennix is the starting quarterback right now and for
better for worse. It sounds like the offense is way
ahead of the Atlanta defense in camp, which is usually
not the case when you talk about training camp this
time of year. I think that Atlanta defense is just
going to be so bad that it's going to be
catch up mode. And I think Pennix, Beijon, and Drake

(12:56):
London are in for absolutely huge years for Atlanta just
playing catchup mode the entire time.

Speaker 2 (13:04):
I thought you were gonna note the big offseason news
that it's.

Speaker 3 (13:08):
Bijon Ohon, Bajon, Robin hardon me.

Speaker 5 (13:12):
Did you draft any Bijon Robinson.

Speaker 2 (13:16):
Let's go over to the Saint Brian. What's the one
thing people need to know from the off season?

Speaker 3 (13:20):
Uh? Yeah.

Speaker 4 (13:22):
All the teams are so exciting in the NFC South
when it comes to their offense, it seems, but not
the Saints, especially when we're trying to decide whether it's
gonna be Spencer Rattler or Tyler Shuck.

Speaker 5 (13:32):
I believe it's pronounce shuck even it was the show.

Speaker 4 (13:36):
H Shuck was the early camp favorite, but he has
looked pretty shucking bad. And Spencer Rattler has looked great
in practice, but that's kind of been his mo throughout
his career. From what I hear, he's a great practice player.
So draft any and all Saints at your risk. Crystal
Lave's had concussion issues. Hopefully he doesn't get his bell

(13:56):
run Bell rung. Alvin Kamara still there older, I don't know.
This is just a kind of an icky offense that
I'm not going out of my way to draft any
of these guys except maybe Juwan Johnson very Leech.

Speaker 2 (14:08):
Yes, that's one of my We'll be talking about Juwan
Johnson more in a future episode. Of Fantasy Football Weekly,
because that is a guy that I'm particularly interested in
with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Chris Godwin's dislocated ankle still
not healed. He's not practicing, not expected to be available
for the start of the season, and that puts first
round rookie Amika Egbuka into a spot to be the

(14:31):
team starting slot receiver immediately. Ag Buka ran eighty one
percent of his routes from the slot at Ohio State
last year and last year. When they moved Chris Godwin
back into the slot position at the beginning of last year,
all he did was crush from there and get pelted
with targets, and a Buka's gonna walk right into that workload.

(14:52):
Egbuka was very prolific three year starter at Ohio State,
and because of that, his proven productivity is work cabits
his professionalism. Everybody views him as NFL ready. Coaches and
and Baker Mayfield have been raving about Amika Igbuka, who
has shot up draft boards over the course of this summer,

(15:13):
and probably appropriately so.

Speaker 3 (15:15):
All Right, let's.

Speaker 2 (15:16):
Transition over to the AFC South Indianapolis Colts Man.

Speaker 3 (15:22):
The Colts have not named a starting quarterback as of yet.
It's Anthony Richardson or Daniel Jones, and both bring you know,
the run pass aspect to the game. So whoever wins
is probably going to put up some half decent fantasy numbers.
Richardson probably has the lead in the race. He's been
very confident about that and very welcoming of the challenge.
But careful what you wish for Anthony Richardson.

Speaker 2 (15:44):
Well, yeah, and then on Thursday night he got lit
up when he didn't follow his hot read dislocated his
finger looks like Richardson's. It's not a serious injury, and
I don't know that he's going to miss any time
because of that. But a lot of people pointing out
that Richardson not picking up the blitzing the blitzing player

(16:06):
to his h to his backside is something that quarterback
in his third year absolutely should have been able to
do identify his hot red dump off the ball, and
instead he got killed.

Speaker 4 (16:16):
That wasn't even his backside, He no, that wasn't his backside,
the front side.

Speaker 3 (16:23):
Yeah, don't be right about that.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
Yeah, yeah, all right, let's go to the Let's go
to the Jaguars.

Speaker 4 (16:29):
Brian, all right, a lot of excitement around the passing
game in Jacksonville.

Speaker 3 (16:32):
Travis Hunter drafted.

Speaker 4 (16:33):
He's gonna play mostly wide receiver, former college quarterback to
Victor Cruz at UMass. Liam Cohen is the new head coach.
He's very past happy. But you know, we got to
talk about tank bigsby charts. Should I just help you?

Speaker 3 (16:47):
Warrior is Tank Rowland surging.

Speaker 4 (16:50):
He was the third running back off the board in
drafts pretty much all summer, but he has usurped Bye
shille By, sell Root and Towton. He's I've seen people
take him over Travis Etn personally, I've always not close.

Speaker 2 (17:04):
I don't I think I've got I've got like four
rounds between those guys.

Speaker 3 (17:09):
So you were you were looks like you weren't wrong.

Speaker 4 (17:12):
Charts just a little early uh Sok surging.

Speaker 3 (17:17):
Oh there's our tank right there.

Speaker 2 (17:19):
It took a minute, but we've got our tank back.
It's is Liam Cohen's new Bucky Irving.

Speaker 3 (17:28):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (17:28):
One thing tank can't do is catch like Bucky Irving
but stylistically very similar runners. And I believe Travis Etn
is going to be used primarily a third down past
catching pass blocking back at this.

Speaker 3 (17:42):
Stage, Tank big Be is going to be the winner
at that one.

Speaker 2 (17:47):
When we come back the Fantasy Football Weekly, we are
going to continue to break down the one thing that
you need to know from each one of the NFL teams,
and a little later on in this show, we're going
to talk about the players we love but never end
up drafting. Find out who they are when we return
to Fantasy Football Weekly, Welcome back Fantasy Football Weekly, season

(18:26):
number thirty one. Paul Charchie and Matt Harrison, Brian.

Speaker 3 (18:29):
Johnson with you.

Speaker 2 (18:30):
You can track our day to day movements, hour to
hour movements on x.

Speaker 3 (18:35):
Matt Harrison is at Explosive Output, Brian Johnson.

Speaker 2 (18:38):
Is at VT XJ, and I'm Matt Paul Charchion and
you're just gonna have to figure out how to spell that.

Speaker 3 (18:44):
We're going through all.

Speaker 2 (18:45):
Of the team's off season moves and the one biggest
thing you need to know from each team's off season,
and we begin with Matt Harrison. You've got the Lions.
What's the big storyline around the Lions from their off season?

Speaker 3 (19:00):
I mean, the biggest storyline is they have two new coordinators,
which makes a big difference since Dan Campbell doesn't call
the offense or the defense. But let's focus on John Morton,
who's the new offensive coordinator. He was a senior offensive
assistant in Detroit three years ago and the passing game
assistant in Denver the last two years. Replacing Ben Johnson

(19:20):
is going to be difficult, and it's hard to fathom
that Lions offense that was historically good last year not
taking a at least a minor step backwards this season.

Speaker 2 (19:31):
This can be This is really the only thing to
nitpick at with this Lions team and your whole roster
and the chances of making a Super Bowl is the
two coordinators. The Eagles tried this a couple of years
ago with some really unpolished coordinators and it ended up
costing them a season. Then they came back last year
with veteran coordinators and won a Super Bowl. So you

(19:54):
know this, it's not trivial. Also, I'm gonna mention this
for the Lions wide receiver. Isaac Tessela is getting a
ton a ton of glowing reports and Thor is a
big fan too. We're gonna keep our eyes on him
as somebody that could yet add yet another weapon to
the Lions. Brian Let's go over to the Packers, the

(20:14):
Green Bay Packers. What's the one thing people need to
know from their offseason?

Speaker 5 (20:18):
The Packers like the Panthers.

Speaker 4 (20:20):
They kind of have too many wide receivers too, But
for the record, I like the Panthers wide receivers more.
But after drafting Matthew Golden in the first round, he
got Matthew Golden.

Speaker 3 (20:27):
Jayden Reid Romeo.

Speaker 5 (20:29):
Dubs the top of the depth chart.

Speaker 4 (20:30):
But apparently that the Packers is gonna run a lot
of two wide receiver sets on the outside, and that
doesn't bode well for Jayden Reid, who his underlying numbers
are great, but he just put up huge stinkers sometimes
like zero is weak losing performances.

Speaker 3 (20:46):
So I don't know.

Speaker 4 (20:48):
I like Jordan Love here, so I guess the moral
of the story, and I should have said it with
the Panthers is if you're targeting a wide receiver on
the Packers, take the cheapest guy.

Speaker 5 (20:57):
But I like the quarterback for the Packers, Jordan.

Speaker 4 (21:00):
Love, like uh, Bryce Young for the Panthers, where they
got a ton of options. So I'm just kind of
rolling naked quarterback with these two teams. But like Young,
I think Love is also very underrated, underpriced. Excuse me,
all right, let's go over to the Minnesota Vikings.

Speaker 2 (21:14):
I think the right topic for the Vikings is really
the acquisition of Jordan Mason, but I'm going to talk
about Jordan Mason.

Speaker 3 (21:18):
In detail a little bit more later.

Speaker 2 (21:23):
So instead, let's go to the obvious topic, and that's
a new starting quarterback, JJ McCarthy. It's possible McCarthy is
dropping into the single most advantageous position of any first
year starting quarterback ever. He gets raining coach of the
year Kevin O'Connell, who worked magic with Cousins and Darnold,
even Nickmullins. He's surrounded by Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison minus

(21:44):
the first three games, TJ.

Speaker 3 (21:46):
Hockinson, you can throw to Aaron Jones.

Speaker 2 (21:48):
He's got the new improved offensive line with upgrades at
left guard, center, and right guard from last year for Minnesota,
and the training camp so far for JJ McCarthy has
been promising against a very good, difficult Minnesota defense. So
our key topic here, JJ McCarthy. Let's round out the
NFC North matt with the Chicago Bears.

Speaker 3 (22:08):
Yeah, I mentioned Ben Johnson and he joined the Bears.
As their new head coach. So heading into year two,
Caleb Williams will be on his third play caller, and
our friend Thorne Eistrom was all over the internet this
last week talking about how Johnson is a system coordinator
and Williams is an improv drawed up in the sand
quarterback and how these two meet in the middle is

(22:29):
absolutely everything for the Bears this offseason. Love it, and
I think it's gonna take time.

Speaker 2 (22:37):
I think the I think this Bears offense, and we're
gonna talk more about this later in the show as well.

Speaker 3 (22:41):
I think the Bears.

Speaker 2 (22:41):
Offense will be inconsistent early in the season. Hopefully Ben
Johnson's coaching prowess will ultimately Prevail's cover to the AFC
North Cincinnati Bengals. We got a good look Brian at
the Bengals in the first preseason game on Thursday night
with the because the first team offense played through roughly
the first quarter and basically looked unstoppable.

Speaker 4 (23:03):
Yeah, Jamar Chase that that guy looks good. I'm convinced
he's might be good overall. Now, Yeah, the Bengals are
going to be explosive on offense. That they're They're expensive
when it comes to adp all of them, the big ones,
Chase Higgins, uh well to to Chases, Chase Brown and Burrow,
who's going off the board excuse me around quarterback five.

(23:25):
But I think they might be worth worth the price
because like last year, the defense in Cincinnati was awful, awful,
their starters are getting the starting defense was getting lit
up by Philly's third stringers who were probably still hungover
from the you know, I don't know, man, this gonna
be bad defense for for the Bengals, but great for
the offense. So probably not gonna win the Super Bowl,

(23:46):
but they're gonna win a lot of fantasy titles.

Speaker 3 (23:49):
So I'm paying up for the Bengals when I can
the time.

Speaker 4 (23:54):
Jamar Chase, like, I haven't seen Jamar Chase not go first,
and I've done like three hundred drafts. He's just like
one of the most overall picks in a long time.

Speaker 3 (24:03):
We don't talk about him that way.

Speaker 2 (24:04):
It's just like the obvious first overall player. And I
think part of it is he's a wide receiver, and
it's always like, you know, everybody's excited about running backs
at one oh one, when you're taking receivers it's less.

Speaker 3 (24:15):
It's somehow less exciting.

Speaker 2 (24:16):
I don't know why. That's just that's just a theory
of mine. The one, the one, Bengal at ADP who
is still a great value. I believe Chase Brown going
off the board roughly are a running back eleven. I
think you should be close to running back six. I
think he's still a good value. But we have met
plenty of opportunities to talk more about them. Scover to

(24:38):
the Steelers. Steelers overhauled their passing game with new quarterback
Aaron Rodgers, who will now be throwing to DK Metcalf,
and I don't really know who else. George Pickanu in
Dallas might be John, Oh, John, that's my hope, more
than Robert Woods. I mean, here's what Robert Woods brings
to the table every year, losing his job as a starter,

(25:00):
That's what Robert Woods does. Rogers real number two receiver
might end up being John Neu Smith, who was acquired
last month. Finds himself in a really kind of a
time share with Pat Fryarmuth. But hopefully they'll be able
to find ways to get both guys on the field
a lot. Friar Mooth's the better blocker. John new Smith
can be a stand up slot guy. Still optimistic that
John new Smith can have good games, but I think
he's going to be hard to predict.

Speaker 3 (25:21):
Let's go over to the Baltimore Ravens.

Speaker 2 (25:24):
We got a quick look at them on Thursday night,
and Matt the big storyline here. Keaton Mitchell looked fantastic
and great to see him really look like the old
Keaton Mitchell from before the ACL Yeah.

Speaker 3 (25:38):
Let's hope.

Speaker 7 (25:39):
So.

Speaker 3 (25:39):
I mean, the offseason for the Ravens is really beefing
up their defense, which is absolutely scary right now, especially
that secondary room. Not much changed on the offensive side
of the ball, though, they added DeAndre Hopkins to the
wide receiver room, who looked compete for looks with Zay
Flowers and Rashad Bateman. I'm not really buying that Hopkins
has a lot left, but you do you on the one.

(26:00):
But Keaton Mitchell is a pretty decent handcuff to Derrick Henry.
I think we'll talk a little bit more about some
handcuffs later in the show. Looking forward to that, Brian.

Speaker 2 (26:09):
Let's go to the team that I one of the
teams that I think is going to be sneaky good
this year Cleveland Browns. Nobody talking about the Browns as
an improved offense. I think with I think with Joe
Flacco in, Deshaun Watson out, I think there's a there's
a real chance that this Browns team gets a lot better.
And Kevin Stefanski, when he hasn't been handcuffed with Deshaun Watson,

(26:31):
has had a lot of success there.

Speaker 3 (26:32):
I think this team is gonna be sneaky good. Yeah,
I'm optimistic about the passing game too.

Speaker 4 (26:37):
With Flacco, Jerry Judy, Cedric Tillman looked great when healthy
last year. Deontay Johnson could have a rebound year. He's
in Cleveland now. For those who forgot David and jok
who's still there. Harold Fannon was an early third round
pick at tight end, so a lot of a lot
of excitement in the past game. But the running back
situation is a mess right now. Well, there's been a
little more clarity kind of rookie quin Shawn Judkins, who's

(26:58):
stretched in the second round charge.

Speaker 3 (27:01):
Charge with the domestic assault.

Speaker 4 (27:03):
It might have not been a felony, but now it's
looking like it will be because he was denied a
speedy trial the other day, so that lessens his chances
of any speedy touchdown runs anytime soon. I don't know,
but it's looking like fellow well, I still think Jerome
Ford will be the starter in Week one. Fellow rookie.

(27:23):
Why am I blanking on the other running Sampson? I
want to talk to Dylan Sampson. Thank you, Matt.

Speaker 5 (27:30):
He's also gonna be in the mix for touches. But
I don't know. Judkins sliding down draft boards.

Speaker 4 (27:34):
Maybe an interesting dynasty stash right now, but it's not
looking good for Judkins playing anytime soon for Cleveland.

Speaker 3 (27:42):
Nope. And yeah unsigned, and here is middle August, and.

Speaker 2 (27:46):
You know this is you know, if there's a one
of the key rookie running backs who has the potential
to just completely evaporate this season, Judkins could be that guy.
I mean that's there's a there is a scenario where
he's just like a non actor for a big chunk
of this year.

Speaker 3 (28:01):
Unfortunately.

Speaker 2 (28:03):
We'll head over to the NFC West with the Cardinals,
a team with no changes on their starting offense, all
eleven guys from last year back. The team rolled over
the entire starting offense. As I mentioned, Marvin Harrison. I
guess is just is the only story that we know.
We think he's going to get a lot better in
year two, almost has to. You can probably get him

(28:23):
at a certain values. ADP is less as a sophomore
than it was as a rookie last year. So for
those that want to make a gamble, you could try
Marvin Harrison's second year in the same offense. Let's go
over to the forty nine Ers, Matt.

Speaker 3 (28:35):
The wide receiver group is in a big churn right now.
Deebo went to Washington. Brandon Ayut is coming back from
a knee injury and according to reports, probably won't be
ready for the beginning of the season. We might not
see him till October or November. Yeah, Juwan Jennings is
holding in but is not practicing due to a calf injury.

(28:55):
He wants a new contract or a trade, and Ricky
Pearsall hasn't been shot this year, so it might be
October before we figure out exactly what this wide receiver
room actually looks like. I think George Kittle is the
top target that you want to get on San Francisco.

Speaker 2 (29:13):
I love Juwon Jennings. I think he's going to be fantastic. Well,
plenty more time to opportunities to talk about him over
the course of the preseason, but he's the forty nine
er I'm targeting.

Speaker 3 (29:24):
Let's go over to the Seahawks.

Speaker 2 (29:26):
Brian, your guy, Sam Darnold now the new quarterback for Seattle.

Speaker 4 (29:30):
My boy, Sammy Darnold one of the many new faces
in Seattle. New offensive coordinator Clint Kubiak is there. The
Seahawks drafted tight end Elijah Royo in the second round.

Speaker 5 (29:42):
We'll talk about him more. He's very exciting prospect.

Speaker 4 (29:44):
Tory Horton looks like a draft day steal for the
Seahawks right now. He slid further in the draft than
most expected, so not a lot of people excited about
the Seahawks offense, but they got some nice pieces there.
Of course, Jackson Smith and Jigba still around. So Sam
Donald is going like quarterback twenty eight right now, which
is insane to me that the stigma will never leave him, But.

Speaker 3 (30:05):
That's fine by me.

Speaker 4 (30:05):
I'm scooping all the shares I can get at that
price because he's gonna He's gonna outlive his ADP like
you did last year, big time. Maybe not as high,
but he's still gonna produce.

Speaker 5 (30:16):
So much more than people think. So I'm gloating.

Speaker 3 (30:18):
I love Sam, you know that.

Speaker 2 (30:19):
Yeah, Sam Donald finished, Yeah, this is really a peacock moment.
Sam Donald finished as wide quarterback nine in roughly depending
your scoring system, he'll outperform quarterback twenty eight for sure,
no doubt. Staying with that conference, we go to the
Los Angeles Rams. The Rams upgraded from Cooper Cup. We

(30:40):
were just talking about Seattle. He's there now, we're gonna
talk more about Cup later in the show. They went
from Cup to DeVante Adams, who would have been the
headline if it weren't for now Matthew Stafford's lingering back issues.
We're going to continue to watch that. He hasn't been
practicing in training camp, and Jimmy Garoppolo could be your starter.

Speaker 3 (30:57):
And let's remember Garoppolo and.

Speaker 2 (30:59):
Adams have a history together and it wasn't good in
Las Vegas. So we're gonna continue to watch this one
a potential. This doesn't feel great about Stafford heading into
the season. You don't want somebody coming off a long
off season and he still can't play. So we're gonna
watch that one very closely, and that's sure the most
important thing to know from the off season with them.

(31:20):
Let's go to Kansas City, Matt, what's the one thing
we need to know.

Speaker 3 (31:23):
From their off season? Who will win the running back
room there? It's Isaiah Pacheco, back from his fractured fibula
that made him miss most of the first half of
the season and made him worthless for the second half
of the season. Kareem Hunt is still there. He's old
and terrible. They signed Elijah Mitchell, but what can you
expect from him but the sneaky dude seventh rounder Burschard Smith,

(31:47):
who Thor covered on a Fantasy Football Weekly podcast just
a couple of weeks ago. I'd go listen to that
episode of that and get real excited about Burschard Smith,
particularly as a pass catcher.

Speaker 2 (31:58):
Smith could easily walk into a third down pass catching
role immediately.

Speaker 3 (32:02):
That's not Pacheco's.

Speaker 2 (32:03):
Game, and that's you know, that's a scenario or Brishard
Smith can chip in some PPR value early in the season, potentially.

Speaker 3 (32:13):
Let's go to the Chargers.

Speaker 2 (32:14):
Uh massive loss at left tackle on Thursday for the Chargers.

Speaker 4 (32:18):
Brian, Yeah, yeah, you pretty much covered it. I wasn't
gonna talk about Naji Harris, Well this affects him? Well,
maybe it does if Nase's ready to play. For those
who don't know, he's nursing a eye injury because a
bottle rocket got shot into it or something.

Speaker 3 (32:32):
But uh yeah, Naji, all running back handle right into
the eyeball.

Speaker 4 (32:37):
Oh used to know. We used to do Roman candle
fights as kids. I used to do Roman candle fights too.
We should do a Roman candle fight at the Fantasy
Football training campus Treasure Island, resorting to see you.

Speaker 3 (32:47):
No, I like it? I like it? Can we do it?

Speaker 5 (32:49):
Indoors can do it anyone we want. I'm doing anything.

Speaker 4 (32:52):
I whyn't be walking around that place in the bathroom,
so everyone shuld come around.

Speaker 5 (32:56):
Where was I?

Speaker 3 (32:57):
Chargers? Yeah, all running backs screwed?

Speaker 4 (33:00):
Justin Herbert screwed Rashaun Slater, starting left tackle, All Pro
starting left tackle.

Speaker 3 (33:05):
Done for the year.

Speaker 4 (33:06):
Thank god he got his big payday recently. But yeah,
huge loss for the entire Chargers offense. You got a
ding ding each and every one of them, especially mari
and Hampton looking like a Rookie of the Year favorite,
at least at the running back position. Among the running
backs outside of Asgen Genti, but huge loss for San
Diego Major bummer.

Speaker 2 (33:28):
Chargers have got a very good offensive line in totality,
so maybe they could absorb this loss more than most.
But this is the best player on their offensive line,
so losing Slater will be significant here. Unfortunately, I'm gonna
circle back to the Titans for just a moment. It's
easy to forget them first overall, pick cam Ward is
the titans new starting quarterback. Word's not a flashy or

(33:50):
dynamic player, but if he can just bring like competency
and consistency to the quarterback position, that'll be a big
upgrade over Will Levis, who, by the way, his season
over after offseason shoulder surgery. Ward will be throwing to
a thin group of receivers. There's Calvert Ridley and then

(34:10):
Ben Jefferson, Tyler Lockett. Let's keep an eye out on
rookie Eric Iomannor, who is really dazzled in training camp
and has an opportunity to make a move sooner than
later with that offense. And he's somebody who looks like
he has the potential to be maybe a little bit special.
It's God of the Las Vegas Raiders. Matt, what's the

(34:31):
one thing people need to know about their offseason?

Speaker 3 (34:34):
Complete overhaul, especially on the offensive side of the ball,
and it should make it actually pretty respectable this year. Yeah.
He Garrel's the new head coach. He brings a winning
culture to the building. More importantly, Chip Kelly is the
new offensive coordinator. He's gonna run a ton of plays
like he always does. Gino Smith is the new quarterback
and just a super solid vet Brock Bauers in year

(34:55):
two that's fantastic. And Ashton Genty brings a running game
element that Raiders sorely lacked last year. I mean, they
had a good one and Josh Jacobs a few years ago,
but Ashton Janty could be just otherworldly in this offense.

Speaker 2 (35:11):
I've got him right now as pick number five in
fantasy drafts. Overall, that's I think. I think Gend's gonna
hit the ground and be hit. Hit the ground and
be great from day one. Brian, your final team the
Denver Broncos. What's the one thing people need to know
about their offseason?

Speaker 3 (35:27):
Rookie running back r J. Harvey.

Speaker 4 (35:29):
Everyone was excited about him, but he's undraftable because he's
now listed as the fifth running back on the death art,
and we all know Sean Payton doesn't.

Speaker 3 (35:37):
Doesn't mess around in these moments.

Speaker 4 (35:40):
No, but that that is total bs. But it's going
to be competitive in the backfield for touches with JK.

Speaker 5 (35:47):
Dobbins in town now and r J.

Speaker 4 (35:48):
Harvey, but really the the whole offense, there's a lot
of excitement around it. Bo Nicks has surpassed everyone's expectations,
especially Thor's. We gave Thor a lot of credit for
a lot of stuff, but Thor kind of whipped on
that one. Love you Thor, sorry, But Joe Nick's like
QB six right now going off the boards. It's that's
it's scary, trust me. We fear the sophomore slump. But

(36:09):
right now, JK. Dobbins, I feel like Sean Payton's gonna
give him the reins for the most part until he's
think so too. I think he's a value right now
because R J. Harvey is going well before Dobbins. This
news might hurt it a little bit, but he's not
the fifth running back on the depth chart.

Speaker 5 (36:25):
Don't don't buy into that.

Speaker 2 (36:27):
Our final team is the Houston Texans. Joe Mixon remains
in a walking boot. He's not practicing. His status for
the start of the season is in doubt, and as
a reminder from last year, Joe Mixon slowed badly in
the second half of the season and devolved into one
of the league's least effective backs.

Speaker 3 (36:45):
And then the team signed Nick Chubb.

Speaker 2 (36:47):
He's the presumed starter, although lately we've seen Damian Pierce
getting some first team reps as well.

Speaker 3 (36:52):
The team also drafted Woody Marks in the fourth.

Speaker 2 (36:55):
Round, who's just sort of an all around back by
older and slower than most rookies. I don't think Mark
is really a factor here, but Nick Chubb moving up
by draft rankings and I think he's your Week one
starter for the Houston Texans.

Speaker 7 (37:09):
When we come back, next segment, the Peacock Off, it's
two very very cold predictions for each one of us.
You'll get six high risk, high reward angles when we
come back to Fantasy Football Weekly.

Speaker 3 (37:51):
Welcome back Fantasy Football Weekly.

Speaker 2 (37:52):
This is a segment we do every preseason called the
peacock Off. These are two bold predictions per host, and
if we get these right, there's gotta be a lot
of fee cocking. Let's hope that this all comes to fruition.
We begin with Brian Johnson. What's your first of two

(38:13):
pee cock offs.

Speaker 4 (38:15):
We'll keep your finger on that button, Robby, because last
year I gave you Sam Darnold top ten quarterback.

Speaker 3 (38:19):
I was gonna run it back, but that's too easy.

Speaker 5 (38:22):
This year, I mentioned him earlier.

Speaker 4 (38:24):
I'm going with Bryce Young, who once smiled at my
dogs when I was walking.

Speaker 3 (38:28):
Around the Panther stadium.

Speaker 4 (38:31):
I thought he was a kid wearing a Bryce Young jersey,
but it was in fact Bryce Young. But Bryce Young,
top ten fantasy quarterback. After getting benched early in the
season last year, came back as a starter, played pretty good,
especially over his last six games multiple touchdowns and five
of those games he had five rushing touchdowns in that
span too. And I already mentioned how I love the
Carolina pass catchers, the coach, the sucky defense. I almost

(38:53):
slipped there. Love Bryce Young this year dirt cheap. He'll
finish its a top ten quarterback me in January. I'm done, dear,
top ten quarterback.

Speaker 2 (39:03):
At the end of last year, he was playing great
and as you mentioned earlier in the show, deepest set
of Carolina receivers we've seen in years.

Speaker 3 (39:11):
Matt, what is the first of your two pet kockoffs.
I've got Bryce Hall finishing as RB one in PPR
Dame what yep? The top overall. He's got absolutely no
competition for touches. Braylen Allen, Nah, Nope, nope. Justin Fields
is his new quarterback. Aaron Rodgers is out a new

(39:32):
offensive coordinator and head coach coming from Detroit. The offensive
line is actually really good there. He averaged about four
catches per game over his career, and four to five
catches per game for a running back is usually among
the league leaders, and he was third in targets and
fourth in receptions amongst running backs last year. The Jets
have already said they're going to run the ball and

(39:54):
they're going to play good defense. I like Bryce Hall
to just get a buttload of touches this year. You
had to have a unit of measure and that's the
one that you went with.

Speaker 2 (40:06):
Okay, thank you, David, and Joko will finish as a
tight end one, the highest scoring tight end in Fantasy
football last year once Deshaun Watson went down in Week
seven and Joku was great. He was tight end six
and PPR tight end four and utilization number one in
end zone target percentage. Just don't be coupled with Deshaun

(40:29):
Watson and you're good. Joe Flacco locked in as the starter.
And remember when these two played together at the end
of the season two years ago and Joko went berserk.
He averaged with Joe Flacco nine targets, six receptions, eighty
one yards and point seven touchdowns with Flacco. If he
does that this year, he will be tight end number one. Brian,

(40:52):
what is your second of two pee cock ops?

Speaker 5 (40:55):
Those are very bold call charge.

Speaker 3 (40:57):
I'm impressed David and Joku number one tight end. Well.

Speaker 4 (41:00):
Last year, I said Terry McLaurin would finish as a
top ten wide receiver when he's getting drafted as wide
receiver thirty. I'm predicting the same this year for Calvin Ridley,
who was one of fourteen wide receivers with at least
one hundred and twenty targets and one thousand receiving yards
last year, and he was operating with not such great
quarterbacks that we alluded to earlier mentioned earlier, Ridley last

(41:23):
year led all wide receivers and total air yards you know,
intended targets through the air, empty six percent of them
were catchable.

Speaker 3 (41:31):
That was a horror. That's it.

Speaker 4 (41:33):
Wow, less smaller clip than the receiver below him, which
by the way, were Courtland Sutton, Drake, Lundon, Justin Jefferson,
Marvin Harrison, Malik Neighbors, Calvin Ridley more air yards.

Speaker 3 (41:43):
Than all of them.

Speaker 4 (41:44):
That's not gonna change. Yes, cam Ward is a rookie,
but he is an upgrade. Tennessee is gonna be throwing
a lot, and I know Ridley's gonna draw a lout
of attention, but they're still gonna pepper in with targets.

Speaker 3 (41:56):
I'm going out of my way.

Speaker 4 (41:57):
I'm reaching around on Calvin Ridley wide receive thirty way,
way too underpriced.

Speaker 3 (42:02):
For an alpha.

Speaker 5 (42:04):
He is still an alpha in my mind. So I
love Calvin red really this year.

Speaker 2 (42:08):
Our previewing next week's show, which will have our preseason classic,
to reach around.

Speaker 3 (42:13):
Excited for that.

Speaker 2 (42:14):
All right, Matt, what is your second and final peacock off.

Speaker 3 (42:19):
I've I'm going back to the well and back to
the well again. It's my third year in a row
about Garrett Wilson, and this time it's the year I
have double jets peacock os.

Speaker 2 (42:31):
By the way, how can they both come true?

Speaker 3 (42:34):
They're gone. I'm Breeze Halby, the.

Speaker 2 (42:35):
Number one running back, and then what do you what
is your claim here going to be on Garrett Wilson.

Speaker 3 (42:40):
A top five wide receiver fourth he was fourth in
the league in twenty twenty three with basically awful quarterback play.
Had to share Aaron Rodgers with DeVante Adams last year.
Justin fields, is this new quarterback and Adams is gone?
That leaves a ton of vacated targets and he's the
guy who'll probably get at most of them. And fields

(43:02):
you may say not a great passer, but who cares.
We're talking about Garrett Wilson here. In twenty twenty three
with the Bears, field supported Dj Moore to ninety six catches,
almost fourteen hundred yards, and eight touchdowns, which was enough
for a top six finished amongst wide receivers. I think
Garrett Wilson just gets target hogged here, and we're in

(43:22):
a good spot. Garrett Wilson gets target hogged. You had
me with Breeze Hall.

Speaker 2 (43:28):
I don't think both of those things can come true
at one time. I'm down on Garrett Wilson saying I
don't trust justin fields to pass well enough the ball.

Speaker 3 (43:37):
When I get it right, Yeah, that peacock sound will
go off Church All right, I hope you are right.

Speaker 2 (43:43):
But the problem is as a top five wide receiver,
he's gonna have to battle Courtland Sutton.

Speaker 3 (43:49):
Who's gonna finish as a top five wide receiver.

Speaker 2 (43:52):
After bo Nitch started cooking in Week six, Courtland Sutton
averaged eight and a half targets per game, six catches
per game, and from Week six forward last year, Sutton
finishes wide receiver twelve despite a rookie quarterback, no running game,
a battered offensive line and all those situations should be

(44:15):
better this year for Courtland Sutton. And if Bowe Nicks
is better as a sophomore, and he almost certainly will
be a great opportunity for Courtland Sutton. And as a big,
physical receiver with that big frame, he is a great
end zone target. Only Mike Evans averaged more end zone
targets per game than Courtland Sutton did.

Speaker 3 (44:37):
He's gonna be fantastic.

Speaker 2 (44:39):
If you haven't tried a Guillotine league yet, we encourage
you to do so. Guillotine leagues dot com where you
can go to get into three different kinds of guantine
leagues right now. If you want to just dabble for free,
we have free public leagues. If you want to play
with your friends, we've got private leagues you're gonna pay,
play for prizes. You can do that at Guillotine leagues
dot Com as well. Bro get a little skin in

(45:01):
the game, win your league makes some cast geteen league
dot com.

Speaker 3 (45:05):
All of that available to you.

Speaker 2 (45:07):
Coming up in our number two of Fantasy Football.

Speaker 3 (45:11):
We're going to talk about players we love but never
end up.

Speaker 2 (45:14):
Drafting, players we dislike and never draft, and will answer
three tough questions and identify.

Speaker 3 (45:22):
Our sleepers of the week.

Speaker 2 (45:24):
All of that and more coming up in our number
two of Fantasy Football. We welcome back our number two

(46:02):
Fantasy Football Weekly season, number thirty one. My co hosts today,
Matt Harrison Brian Johnson. Hey guys, great to have you back.
Let's talk through the players we love but they don't
find their ways onto our team because the price is
too high. We begin at the quarterback position. Matt Harrison,

(46:24):
give me a player you love, an ADP you hate.

Speaker 3 (46:29):
I've got Jayden Daniels here. He's great, he's accurate, he
runs there's nothing wrong with anything he does. But do
I want to pay a third round value for the
number three or number four quarterback off the board? I
do not. I'm nervous about Terry McLaurin maybe leaving town.
I'm nervous about a sophomore slump. I'm nervous about the

(46:50):
frame that we all referenced last year. He's a big,
skinny guy and we were all nervous about it last time.
This year, if he gets hit in the wrong way,
I think he misses some time. I love watching him play,
but it seems a little bit too risky to pay
that third round price tag for him.

Speaker 2 (47:08):
Okay, Brian, your love the player, hate the ADP?

Speaker 3 (47:11):
Who is it?

Speaker 4 (47:13):
You gotta love Baker Mayfield, especially after his monster season
last year. One of three quarterbacks with forty plus passing touchdowns,
he also threw for negative eight touchdowns worth of interceptions.

Speaker 5 (47:24):
He led the league in that category.

Speaker 3 (47:28):
Wait wait, wait, wait wait, Baker Mayfield threw eight pick sixes?
Is that what you no?

Speaker 4 (47:32):
I was the fantasy points I didn't do that well.
The fantasy points from the interceptions takes eight touchdowns off
of his total. He threw a lot of interceptions. Okay,
I got you get things for interceptions. Baker did not
help in that regard. He's gonna help this year. But
the price tag of QB seven seventy three overall, especially
after losing Tristan Wurf's for extended period of times left

(47:55):
tackle the Mecca Aguca very exciting wide receiver, but Chris
Godwin like to start the season on the puff, so
he's down some weapons.

Speaker 5 (48:03):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (48:03):
QB seven is very rich, and I'm already screaming from
the rooftops how much I love Bryce Young and Sam Darnold.
Of course Gino Smith we mentioned earlier, so much value later.
And Baker has some mobility, but it's it's really like break.

Speaker 3 (48:19):
Glass in case of emergency mobility.

Speaker 4 (48:21):
So I'm not paying this price tag for Baker, but
I do love him.

Speaker 2 (48:25):
We all kind of landed in a similar zone on
our quarterbacks who we love the quarterbacks but don't like
the ADP.

Speaker 3 (48:30):
I'm going with Joe Burrow.

Speaker 2 (48:32):
You know, he is the first of those of the
non rushing quarterbacks to go at quarterback. Five led the
NFL and touchdown passes last year with forty three.

Speaker 3 (48:40):
He's got Jamar Jason T. Higgins.

Speaker 2 (48:41):
He's great, but the ADP is just so high. He's
only separated from Jalen Hurts, whoever year, runs in twelve
touchdowns on his Touschbush, he's almos. They're only separated by
a round and a half. If I'm going to invest
in quarterback early, I want one of the rushing quarterbacks,
you know, instead of Burrow. As an example, I could
draft Jared Goff, who threw only six fewer touchdowns last year, and.

Speaker 3 (49:06):
He's going in round ten.

Speaker 2 (49:08):
So there's just so many other options to find similar
production at a much deeper discount later in your draft
five rounds later in the case of Burrow to golf.
So I'm I love Joe Burrow, but I'm never drafting
him on my teams.

Speaker 3 (49:23):
Let's go to the running back position.

Speaker 2 (49:24):
Matt who is a player you love with an ADP
you hate?

Speaker 3 (49:28):
Devon ah Chan one of the fastest guys in the league.
He's elusive, he does more with touches than just about anyone.
But I'm just kind of off on the Dolphins offense
in general. I don't love to I never really have.
I don't love an aging Tyreek and Waddle hasn't been
good in like two or three years. I don't love
the offensive line. I don't love that they're gonna spell

(49:51):
him with Jalen Wright and Alexander Madison, who, by the way,
is turning the lake and I never heard that before.
Not turning your head away in disgust. He's actually like, oh,
Alexander Madison's looking good. What I pay an early second
rounder for a running back in an offense that I'm

(50:12):
quickly losing faith in And I'm just out on that price?

Speaker 2 (50:16):
Okay at this time at One of the big talkers
to this time last year was will Devon a Chan
play seventeen games or will he play two? You know,
we were very, very worried about his health. He played
all seventeen, but we seem to have forgotten the history
of injury that associated is associated with Devon a Cham. Okay, Brian,
who is your player you love and an ADP you hate?

Speaker 5 (50:37):
I love Derrick Henry. You gotta love Derrick Henry.

Speaker 4 (50:39):
There's been no running back like him in NFL history,
at least in my lifetime. Maybe Jim Brown, but that's
not my lifetime. Henry will be a first ballot Hall
of Famer slam Donkey better be but man RB seven,
you're taking him at the turn. Basically, he's thirty one
years old. Again, he's a different breed. Like he he's insane.
But he's not going to catch many passes this year,

(51:02):
especially with Keaton Mitchell back and Justice Hills at past
catching back. But Keaton Mitchell, he wasn't available for the
majority of last year.

Speaker 3 (51:09):
He's not just a pass catching back.

Speaker 4 (51:11):
Keith Mitchell could be a future starting running back in
this league. And the Ravens have Super Bowl aspirations. They
don't want to grind Henry into the ground. He's not
gonna get Bell Cow usage. Lamar Jackson certainly a threat
to steal rushing touchdowns. I love King Henry, but I
am not paying an early second, late first price for him.

(51:31):
Can't do it.

Speaker 2 (51:31):
It's just one of those guys. It's fun to have
on your team, but without the pass catching, you know,
he could be sitting on like a twenty catch season.
You know, like won a game that does affect the
real value for most of us, that gets something for
receptions for out of our running backs. You don't get
it with Derrick Henry the player. I love it I'm
not taking for some similar reasons. Jonathan Taylor ADP is twenty,

(51:55):
so I need to take him in the middle of
the second round if I were going to draft him,
which i'm He's a really good back, but he doesn't catch.
Last year one reception per game, oh a year before that,
last two years combined one reception per game. And then
there's the shaky quarterbacking in that Indie offense that I
just don't trust this offense to be good, and I'm
worried that the quarterbacking is just gonna limit the overall

(52:17):
scoring opportunities.

Speaker 3 (52:19):
And Indy overhauled their offensive line.

Speaker 2 (52:21):
They lost excellent players in the offseason in center Ryan Kelly,
guard Will Fryes, and they're going to boar with Tanner Bortolini,
who in limited work last year was Pro Football Focuses
center number twenty two, a downgrade from Kelly, who was
center seven. And then Dalton Tucker, huge drop off from

(52:42):
Will fries At Dalton Tucker. Tucker was Pro Football Focuses
guard seventy two. Fries was guard twelve, so massive drop
off there. So I don't like the offensive line. I
don't like that Taylor can't catch. I don't like the
quarterback situation. It's just too high of a price to
pay middle of the second round for Jonathan Taylor. Let's
go to the wide receiver position.

Speaker 3 (53:01):
Matt. Who's a player you love with an ADP you hate? Well,
it's Nico Collins. He's going off the board at the
tenth overall pick right now, not the tenth wide receiver,
the tenth overall pick. And in PPR points per game
last year he finished tenth among wide receivers. And he's
a really good player. But the offensive line in Houston

(53:24):
is offensive eyeballs and without that time, is CJ. Stroud
really going to have the time to get him the ball?
He's going to have to work some magic for Collins
to return number ten overall value. And I just don't
think I can pay that price for Nico. We love
Nico Collins. It's amazing on this show.

Speaker 2 (53:42):
Nico Collins has gone from the guy that we loved
as a for the potential to like, you know, become
a good receiver, to now a first round pick for
Nico Collins.

Speaker 3 (53:54):
Brian, who's the player you love with an ADP you hate?

Speaker 4 (53:58):
Well, Matt, you might be a little mad at this
but with one of your peacock peacock off guys.

Speaker 3 (54:02):
It's Garrett Wilson.

Speaker 4 (54:03):
I love Garrett Wilson, elite wide receiver, but I just
can't buy into the situation with the Jets with Justin Fields,
Tyrod Taylor. There's rumors they might have the next Kurt Warner.
I forget his first name. It's something Martinez, who's played
in like NFL Europe and then all these other ault
leagues and now he's on roster. Like, I cannot pay
a mid third for Garrett Wilson when he has no

(54:23):
help at wide receiver either Josh Reynolds and Alan Lazard.

Speaker 5 (54:26):
You don't even have to cover those guys. I'd rather
take Jackson.

Speaker 4 (54:30):
Smith and Jigba, Mike Evans, Davante Adams going after Garrett Wilson.
I love him, He's just in a real bad spot still,
so I can't do it.

Speaker 3 (54:39):
Sorry, Matt not.

Speaker 5 (54:40):
Saying he might not finish top five, but I'm not
taking the risk.

Speaker 3 (54:44):
That's fine.

Speaker 2 (54:46):
I'm going right to the top of the first round
with CD lamb average Draft position three. The Cowboys have
just got this stench of death on this organization. They've
got a head coach.

Speaker 3 (54:59):
Nobody w on it.

Speaker 2 (55:00):
They've got infighting with their best defensive player. They went
into the season desperately needing a running back and only
came out with Jayden Blue, who Thor is really worried
about and doesn't look like a full time back with
a running game that might be the league's worst. Dallas
is going to pass a lot and maybe through sheer volume,
Ceedee Lamb's gonna live up to that ADP of three.

(55:21):
But Dak Prescott didn't look great last year. In his
nine game games played, he was quarterback nineteen in fantasy
points scored. And you know what I was really hoping
for Ceedee Lamb's sake in the offseason. Dallas was going
to get a speed burner downfield to open up the middle,
that intermediary area where Ceedee Lamb is so good. But

(55:43):
they brought in George Pickens, who doesn't bring any real
speed to the position. I don't know, guys, I just
Ceede Lamb's gonna get a ton of volume.

Speaker 3 (55:51):
He's a great player, but I.

Speaker 2 (55:53):
Don't know if I want a cowboy with a third
overall pick What do you guys think?

Speaker 3 (55:57):
Are you in or out on Ceedee Lamb at pick three.
Pretty hard to return number three overall value for any player,
but especially with the situation you described. I'm with you,
you might be a tail end of the first round
value guy, but not number three.

Speaker 4 (56:12):
Yeah, personally, I'm going a running back over over Lamb
or or Jefferson in that early first round range.

Speaker 3 (56:19):
But yeah, to go over to the.

Speaker 2 (56:21):
Tight end position a player you love with an ADP
you hate Matt.

Speaker 3 (56:25):
I mean, how can you not love Travis Kelcey? Right,
He's done so much for us for so long, and
really I chose him because there's not a lot of
tight ends that have crazy high ADPs that I wouldn't
mind taking there. Most of the tight ends are slotted
pretty well this year. Kelsey's at the end of the
eighth round right now, but it's probably his last year.
Kansas City actually has some good wide receivers that can

(56:47):
work the middle of the field. Kelsey took on more
of a blocking role to help protect Patrick last year,
and their offensive line could be better than last year,
but on paper, it seems like more of a lateral
move if that, and he only scored three touchdowns last season.
He only scored five touchdowns the year before that, the
targets will be down, the catches will be down, the

(57:10):
touchdowns will probably be in the same range. We can't
pick Travis Kelcey that high anymore. Yeah, I think I'm
with you, Matt. I think I think it's the beginning
of the end.

Speaker 2 (57:19):
Unfortunately for our Hall of Fame career, it has to
happen sometimes sometime. I think it's happening now to Travis Kelcey.

Speaker 3 (57:25):
I'm with you on that one.

Speaker 2 (57:26):
Brian, who is the tight end you love with an
ADP you hate?

Speaker 3 (57:32):
Now?

Speaker 4 (57:32):
I promise I'm not trying to pick fights with you, guys,
but I'm going after your one. Are your peacock guys
now charge it's David Joku, who I love what? But
it's not the steepest of price tags at tight end
twelve overall, not at all talking about Well for me,
if I'm not going, if I'm not getting an elite
tight end, I'm waiting later in the draft. I like
a lot of guys late. We'll talk more about him

(57:53):
later in the show. But again, I love Djoku, but
he has top seven hundred yards once in his career.
His season high in touchdowns is six. These are both
the same season. By the way, he's only caught five
touchdowns in the season once.

Speaker 5 (58:06):
Outside of that, every other season less than five.

Speaker 4 (58:11):
Kind of a lot of car target competition in Cleveland,
especially with Harold fannin a rookie.

Speaker 5 (58:15):
They brought in that he is going to see the field.

Speaker 4 (58:18):
So I love David and Joku, And just like Matt's prediction,
I'm not saying yours can't come to either charge, but uh,
I'm not gonna take a tight end in the round
nine or ten. I'm either taking one very early or
very late. And that's really the reasoning for me here.
So I love you David.

Speaker 2 (58:33):
I'm not sure you understood the assignment here. I mean
he's gone off the board his player one hundred and
twenty two. David and Joku, I mean that's I want
Jatavian Sanders much later. I'll take Jatavian Sanders with this
ADP much later. Elijah Royo, I take him.

Speaker 3 (58:47):
I don't know I a Bryan here in the fact
that I think the tight ends are slotted right in
ADP this year. There's not many to hate the ADP on. Yeah,
I think love. I did struggle. I did struggle with
this assignment it is.

Speaker 2 (59:04):
It is a little bit hard, and I'm going to
George Kittle, and I love George Kettle, you know, but
I'm taking this assignment seriously and taken. I'm going I'm
going top of the draft kinds of guys. George Kittle
ADP thirty seven, and he was great last year. I've
finished in your scoring system probably for second or third
at tight end. So what's wrong with pick thirty seven? Well,

(59:26):
not a lot, But again, this is a hard assignment.
Quants constantly questionable. So you gotta just be okay with
the fact that George Kittle is gonna be on your
injury report every week, and I'm not always cool with that.
Hasn't played a full season since twenty eighteen for George Kittle,
and weirdly underutilized at the stripe by Kyle Shanahan. From

(59:47):
inside the five yard line, George Kittle averages.

Speaker 3 (59:51):
Two targets per year.

Speaker 2 (59:55):
That's it, and that might just cap his upside as
touchdown upside. He's got a score from distance and not
everybody can do that. All though Kittle, again, it's great
after the catch. You know, I still think he's a
threat to get you, you know, like eight touchdowns, which
is great from your tight end, but I don't see
like fourteen touchdown upside from George Kittle because they don't.

Speaker 3 (01:00:14):
Use him at the goal.

Speaker 2 (01:00:15):
One pick thirty seven just a little bit rich for
my taste. When we come back players we don't like,
and we've done all these drafts, here's the players that
we never end up with. So are blacklist players coming
up next on Fantasy Football Weekly. Welcome back Fantasy Football Weekly.

(01:01:02):
Different from the previous segment, here are guys that we
don't like. We've all done lots of drafts, the best ball,
DA teams, a lot of other formats, and these.

Speaker 3 (01:01:13):
Are guys we never end up with for various reasons.

Speaker 2 (01:01:15):
These are black list players that would require a massive
drop in ADP before we would actually end up targeting them.
And Brian, I want to start with you. Who is
a quarterback you never draft?

Speaker 4 (01:01:29):
I've already been ragging on the Jets pass game, so
I gotta go with Justin Fields right now. He started
to slide a little bit after the dislocated toe, but
he's back at practice, so he's pretty much stabilized at
the QB ten eleven range. And I'm not paying that price.
I've already touted all the late round quarterbacks. I love
justin fields at QB ten. No, not doing it. End

(01:01:51):
of story, Move on of story. Okay, all right, he finished.

Speaker 2 (01:01:54):
As I mentioned earlier in the show, I think he
was QB seven ish in the games that he played
last year. But I can understand that sooner or later,
you need to be a functional passer in this league,
which is what.

Speaker 4 (01:02:05):
He was free last year too, though, you know, like, yeah,
now he's got to meet those expectations. I want him
at value. I'm not paying the you know, I'm not
paying retail.

Speaker 2 (01:02:13):
Put it that way, all right, Matt, who's your blacklist quarterback?

Speaker 3 (01:02:18):
H I've got Caleb Williams who finished in the middle
of the pack last year at QB sixteen. He had
twenty touchdown passes and only six picks, which is something
the Bears faithful are really hanging their hat on. But
you don't throw picks if you don't let the ball
out of your hand. He was sacked sixty eight times
last year. That's four times per game. And by the way,

(01:02:40):
NFL offenses score a touchdown on average twenty six percent
of their drives. But when you're sacked on a drive
that drops to eight point two percent. Sacks are drive killers.
And the way he holds onto the ball to improvise
and try to squeeze every bit out of every pass play,
it's not only reckless to or his body, it's he's
ellen drives for his offense.

Speaker 2 (01:03:01):
Does he turn that around this year? I won't be
the guy finding out yep. My Blacklist quarterback Kyler Murray.
By the way, one more thing in Kayler Williams, and
I've alluded to this earlier in the show. I just
worry it's gonna take a lot of time for them
to overhaul this offense and get the whole Ben Johnson's
scheme going. I My worry is Caleb Williams. If he

(01:03:23):
does turn into a reliable Fantasy starter, it's.

Speaker 3 (01:03:26):
Gonna be like after Thanksgiving.

Speaker 2 (01:03:29):
Get up, man, I gotta I need to win some
games before then, Thank you very much.

Speaker 4 (01:03:33):
And don't forget Bears quarterbacks are historically cursed and that
but I will never change.

Speaker 2 (01:03:38):
They believe that it's all gonna change. Ben Johnson's gonna
drop the curse. My Blacklist quarterback, Arizona quarterback Kyler Murray.

Speaker 3 (01:03:46):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:03:47):
My heart can't take watching Kyler missfire to Marvin Harrison
for another season.

Speaker 3 (01:03:52):
Ah, come on, just.

Speaker 4 (01:03:54):
Nodre McBride, who got screwed the most from Murray too?

Speaker 2 (01:03:58):
By the way, you know for a moment quarterback Kyler
doesn't score touchdowns on the ground last three seasons, just three,
three and five rushing touchdowns. He's too small for goal
line use. They're never going to push Kyler Murray. And
the offense for Arizona didn't change any starters from last year.

(01:04:18):
I mean, the only thing they've got going for them
is that they all know each other. They bring back
same guys, so I mean you gained something with that continuity.
But there wasn't like a talent upgrade at the receiver
position for Kyler Murray. And we know his year over
year output is it, We know where it is. It
just puts him in a cluster of guys kind of
to Brian's point earlier, where he's getting taken. I can

(01:04:41):
drop down four rounds and still get quarterbacks that I like.
So I don't take Kyler Murray in any of my leagues.
Let's go to our blacklist running backs. Matt who do
you never end up with.

Speaker 3 (01:04:53):
I got Jalen Warren on My Blacklist. It was a
theme on the show for the last two years that
Jalen Warren was just out better than Najie Harris, and
mostly that made sense going into last year's draft season.
Then Warren looked like just a dude. Last year, his
yards per carry dipped from five point three to four
point three. He only scored once. He had twenty three

(01:05:14):
fewer pass receptions on twenty six fewer targets, And maybe
the latter was due to them, you know, not having
Kenny Pickett do dump offs, but I think it was
mostly due to the change in OC and having Arthur
Smith nause he's gone. They did draft Caleb Johnson in
the third round, and yeh, Warren is the inside track
on the job now. But from what I'm hearing, Caleb

(01:05:35):
Johnson is the whiz in the zone blocking scheme. Guess
what Arthur Smith's offense runs a zone blocking scheme. So
I think it's Caleb Williams taking this job. I'm not
drafting Jalen Warren. I love Caleb Williams at Iowa. He
was the only part of the offense that worked.

Speaker 2 (01:05:52):
Every defense knew they had to stop Caleb Johnson, and.

Speaker 3 (01:05:55):
They put into it.

Speaker 2 (01:05:57):
He has the potential to be a really nice player,
even in a time share, and he's gonna get the goal.

Speaker 3 (01:06:01):
Line work almost certainly for Pittsburgh. Not Jalen Warren.

Speaker 2 (01:06:05):
All Right, Brian who is the blacklist running back that
you never end up with.

Speaker 4 (01:06:12):
I hate that he's on this list because he was
an absolute league winner last year and until he went
down late and shredded his knee. And that's Carolina's Cuba
Hubbard right now. RB seventeen. And that's the thing. That
knee injury was like week fifteen, Week sixteen. I don't
see I see a slow start for Juba, especially with
Carolina bringing in Rico Dowdell, who is a pretty nice
running own.

Speaker 3 (01:06:32):
No, not that, not Rico Dowdell.

Speaker 4 (01:06:34):
Although we were saying, oh no, not Cuba Hubbard last
year at the exact same time. So Rico Dowdell is
going to get a lot of touches. Cuba Hubbard. He's
gonna start the season, but it's gonna be in a timeshare.
And I'm all about the passing game with the Panthers,
and they got so many receivers now they come on
shifty intermediate routes.

Speaker 3 (01:06:53):
I just think it's just going.

Speaker 4 (01:06:54):
To be pass past pass all day in Charlotte or
when they're on the road, of course. So I just
can't take Cuba as RB seventeen. That's too rich for
me coming off a very late season major knee injury.

Speaker 2 (01:07:05):
He's fine, then, he's fine, he's practicing. I don't I'm
not with you on this at all. I thought Sube
at Harvard looked great, the metrics were great, and I
think he's the I think he's the lead back in
Rico o'donald's a non factor. You and I total opposite
sides on this. I think RB seventeen is a steal
for Chuba Hubbard. Now remember, yeah, probably, I guess we'll
find out, Robbie, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:07:27):
Mark the tape.

Speaker 2 (01:07:28):
My blacklist running back is Chicago running back DeAndre Swift,
and I realized that Swift can be fantasy successful just
by showing up in Chicago due to the dearth of
other viable options there. But Ben Johnson benched him once
already in twenty twenty two, when Swift was younger and
better then than he is now.

Speaker 3 (01:07:48):
Let me give you some stats.

Speaker 2 (01:07:49):
From last year on DeAndre Swift among starting running backs,
dead last in rushing yards over expectation, dead last in
yards after contact, third from last in avoided tackle rate,
second from last in yards per carry. DeAndre Swift just
not very good. At some point. You have to be

(01:08:09):
better in the NFL than DeAndre Swift is, and I'm
not pinning my hopes to him this season. Let's transition
over to the wide receiver position with our blacklist wide receivers.
Matt who is a wide receiver that you never end
up drafting.

Speaker 3 (01:08:25):
Oh, I've got Jamison Williams here. He's missed time in
each of his first three seasons for very different things.
Had an ACL tear in his rookie year, was suspended
for gambling in twenty twenty three, was suspended for peds
last year. That's a lot of ways to take yourself
off of the field, and there's no way that this
offense is better than last year without Ben Johnson. Last year,

(01:08:49):
Williams was tied for forty second in the league amongst
wide receivers with only fifty eight catches. That's not very good.
He's going at the end of the fourth round. That's
exactly the type of player that kills a fantasy roster.
He's not for me.

Speaker 2 (01:09:05):
Jamison Williams a hi variance player. You get the spike weeks,
you get the dud weeks. In regular fantasy. You can
live with some of that. But I don't know that
Jamison Williams in your fantasy playoffs can win you three
straight games. Can he be great three straight games in December?
I don't know, man, he never puts together three straight
good games. I'm kind of with you on that one.

(01:09:26):
And the price tag a little too high, Brian, who
is your blacklist wide receiver?

Speaker 4 (01:09:32):
Big name I'm avoiding in the second round is AJ Brown?

Speaker 5 (01:09:35):
Wide receiver ten?

Speaker 4 (01:09:36):
Right now, I just can't sink that kind of investment
in a team that.

Speaker 5 (01:09:40):
Threw the ball forty three percent of the time.

Speaker 4 (01:09:42):
Last year, Philly owned the lowest passing play percentage.

Speaker 3 (01:09:46):
In the league.

Speaker 4 (01:09:47):
That probably will not change this year behind an elite
defense Saquon Barkley. They're never gonna throw AJ Brown a
fade in the corner of the end zone at the
one yard Hurts is gonna get pushed in. And AJ
Brown has had monster games about his career, but he's
had some major dud games too. I can't invest that
heavily and a Spike week player. Maybe in Best Ball,
I admit I might have taken a little bit of

(01:10:08):
aj Brown, but in any other format I am totally out,
even though he is an elite player, just not in
a great situation for fantasy production for us.

Speaker 5 (01:10:15):
A mid second rounder.

Speaker 2 (01:10:17):
To me, some games Sekwon Barkley scores three times, or
Jalen Hurts scored three times, or combined they scored three times,
or DeVonta Smith has a big game, or it's a
Dallas Goddard game. There's just Philly's a great offense, but
there's only so.

Speaker 3 (01:10:30):
Many touchdowns to go around. I'm kind of with you
on that. My blacklist wide receiver is Seattle receiver Cooper Cup.
He faded badly last year.

Speaker 2 (01:10:39):
As you know, he has missed at least five games
in three straight years, and he's he's just at an
age where he's breaking down a lot. But the biggest
issue for sure, he is for his entire career a
slot receiver. And he has signed with the team who's
got a young superstar receiver who runs best from the slot,
And it was a weird signing. I don't understand why

(01:11:01):
they why they gave him the money they did. But
when it comes down to prioritizing for Seattle and Sam Darnold,
where that where that playing time is gonna go, Where
the ball is gonna go. I think they're gonna go
to their young superstar receiver, not their fading, broken down,
aging receiver in Cooper Cup.

Speaker 3 (01:11:18):
All right, let's go to the tight end position.

Speaker 2 (01:11:20):
Matt, give me a tight end that is on your
blacklist that you never end up with.

Speaker 3 (01:11:25):
I've got Kyle Pitts here and as the old Okay,
bring it on, here's here we go. Shame on you.
Fool me twice, Shame on me, fool me three times,
Shame on all of us, fool me four times on
all of our houses. Well, I mean, to Brian's credit,
we can go. Kyle Pitts has scored more touchdowns in

(01:11:48):
each of his four seasons. He had one in his
rookie year, and then two in his second year, and
then three in his third year, four in his fourth year.
So all he's saying the blacklist in his tenth season
in in the league. Furthermore, Susan I wouldn't be the
least bit surprised if he only got fifty receptions this year.
He only averaged four targets per game last year, and

(01:12:10):
his target totals went down with Michael Pennox games over
the Kirk Cousins games. So I'm off of Kyle Pitts completely,
all right. I think that's an easy one.

Speaker 2 (01:12:20):
Well to see if Brian goes with a higher level
of difficulty, who is your blacklist tight.

Speaker 4 (01:12:25):
End going well before Kyle Pitts, who is a great
value right now?

Speaker 5 (01:12:29):
Why not roll the dice on him?

Speaker 4 (01:12:30):
I really disagree, but anyway, I'm going Colston Loveland right now,
tight end eleven. A lot of hype around Loveland looks
at it be an elite talent, probably a promising career ahead.
But I already was ragging on in Joku, who I
love at tight End twelve. So I'm not going to
pay a tight End eleven price tag on Loveland when
Cole Comet is still in tow making a lot of
money too, and we're already been kind of ragging on

(01:12:52):
the Bears offense. We don't have a ton of confidence
in them at Caleb Williams specifically, So I'm off of Loveland.

Speaker 5 (01:13:00):
Uh In redraft at tight end eleven. No way, all right.

Speaker 2 (01:13:05):
The tight end that I am not taking is Baltimore
tight end Mark Andrews. I think this is this is
one that I've put a lot of thought into. We're
still damaged many of us from Mark Andrews September of
last year. You'll remember he started the season with doing
absolutely nothing. Many of us just dropped Mark Andrews outright.

(01:13:25):
And then he went on a lengthy tear through the
middle of the season that was very good. And then
at the end of the year, including the playoffs, Mark
Andrews did nothing. And then if you remember, in the playoffs,
he dropped a game tying two point conversion that could
have given Baltimore a much needed playoff win against Buffalo.

Speaker 3 (01:13:45):
And then.

Speaker 2 (01:13:47):
Then in the they were very noncommittal about it. They
were like, we know, we'll see what happens with Mark Andrews.
We don't know for sure. Man, I want my front
office telling me how much they love Mark Andrews.

Speaker 3 (01:13:59):
And then you add in that.

Speaker 2 (01:14:00):
Possible career arc collision with Isaiah Likely. You know, Isaiah
Likely is good, he's young, he needs more time.

Speaker 3 (01:14:09):
Now.

Speaker 2 (01:14:09):
They play a little bit differently in that Andrews is
a much better blocker, likely doesn't do a ton of blocking,
and likely stands up in the slot more than Andrews does.
And Andrews still gets targeted in the end zone, but still,
in totality, this is not a situation that I feel
very good about. And you got to still pay a

(01:14:29):
pretty heavy price for Mark Andrews currently going off the board.
So I'm looking at this right now. Pick one hundred.
That is tight end number seven. To me, that is
just it's just too high for a confounding situation and
a player who has.

Speaker 3 (01:14:45):
A lot of highs and lows.

Speaker 2 (01:14:47):
Unfortunately, I would much have a brother David n Joko
as suggested earlier here, let.

Speaker 3 (01:14:53):
Me ask you guys about one other tight ends.

Speaker 2 (01:14:55):
So we've got a spare moment here before this segment ends.
What are your thing on a potential bounce back for
Dalton Kinkaid. Are we finally going to get the season
out of Kinkaid that we thought we were going to
get either as a rookie or a sophomore. Really, the
results have been very, very inconsistent. Dalton Kinkaid. You can

(01:15:16):
get him at a value right now, but you're betting
on him being better than he has been to this point.

Speaker 4 (01:15:23):
I mean value, He's going right after Joku basically, So
like you know my mantra, pay up early for Titan
or goal.

Speaker 3 (01:15:31):
I don't know Kinkaid.

Speaker 4 (01:15:32):
I don't have them in front of me, but the
underlying numbers not impressive. I know a lot of draft
nick's are questioning the pick that the Bills made a
couple of years ago. So I'm not super riddled for
Kinkaid and Dawson. Knox is still there, and like I
think they like Knox at the goal line a lot
in goal line packages.

Speaker 3 (01:15:50):
So no thanks for me on Kinkaid. Yeah, Brian, he
nailed it.

Speaker 2 (01:15:57):
The reason I'm optimistic about Kinkaid is they don't have
anybody else to throw to. Really, I mean, they need
they need to find guy they can get the ball to.
Maybe Keon Coleman a Ruughs in Buffalo this year and
maybe this he's gonna have a great sophomore season. But
we didn't see any signs of that last year from
Keon Coleman. And that's a lot of a lot of
hope work. And Khalil Shakir God loveman. I loved Khaleil Shakir.

(01:16:20):
You remember at this time last year was very very
high in Khaleil Shakir. He's not a number one, he
should be a number two wide receiver. So by all
that together, and I don't believe that we've got really
an opportunity here, or I do believe we've got an
opportunity for Dalton.

Speaker 3 (01:16:37):
Kin Kay to maybe do a little bit, do a
little bit more with.

Speaker 2 (01:16:40):
The opportunity when we come back our final segment of
Fantasy Football Weekly, including three tough questions, and we release
our first sleepers of the preseason. Final segment of Fantasy

(01:17:11):
Football Weekly, Paul Charchie with you, Brian Johnson, Matt Harrison
as well. If you can follow us on Twitter at BTXJ,
Brian at Explosive Output for Mass, and I am at
Paul Scharchian. If you haven't tried a guillotine league, they're
super fun. It's the freshest way to play season long
fantasy football.

Speaker 3 (01:17:28):
You've heard me talk about it for years. No head
to head matchups.

Speaker 2 (01:17:32):
Instead, every week the low scoring team gets chopped from
the league, all their players go to the waiver wire,
and the rest of us start building superstar rosters. All
you have to do is not finish last. You can
play at Guillotine leagues dot com three ways to play.
You can join a free league with the public. You
can join a private league with friends, or paid leagues
for contests Guillotine leagues dot Com. All right, guys, let's

(01:17:54):
release our first sleepers of the year. We begin with
Matt Harrison, your sleep of the year. Well, I don't know,
have just sleeper of the year. We're gonna do one
every show. Sure, who is your first sleeper for this year?
Let's frame it up that way.

Speaker 3 (01:18:07):
I've got Jacory Krosky Merritt, who everybody likes to call Bill,
including himself. The whole town knows that. Brian Brian Johnson, Yeah,
that Brian Johnson.

Speaker 4 (01:18:20):
Me.

Speaker 3 (01:18:20):
No, Brian Robinson. He's just a guy. He ranked sixth
worst and avoided tackle rate last year, a very boring
four point three yards per Carrie, twenty fifth in rushing
yards over expectation per Carrie. Everyone in camp, though, is
gushing over Bill Krossky Merrit. He's blazing through the d

(01:18:42):
In practice, they're talking about one cut, rushing vision preparation.
Coaches all love him. He had six point three yards
per Carrie in twenty twenty three at New Mexico. He
ranked fifth among FBS running backs that year with seventeen touchdowns.
He only played one game for Arizona last year year
with eligibility issues, but he had thirteen carries for one

(01:19:04):
oh six and a score in that game. Dude is electric.
He only has to beat out Brian Robinson and old
Austin Eckler for touches, and I think he does that
in short order.

Speaker 2 (01:19:16):
I don't think he's gonna get end up taking any
away from Austin Eckler because Bill can't catch, and or
at least it has not shown any ability to catch
in college. I think Robinson is the pathway here, and
I'm very intrigued by him as well.

Speaker 4 (01:19:32):
From now on, we will officially call him. I love
Bill to the Bill Cow. That Bill Cow. That's all
the Bill Cow. That's brilliant.

Speaker 2 (01:19:41):
But he's got to actually get He's got to actually
get the ball, right, I mean.

Speaker 4 (01:19:44):
He's got to get the ball. But uh, I'm with
Matt on Bill. Love Bill. Apparently they call him Bill
because he looked like a character and a cartoon that
we're all too old to know about.

Speaker 5 (01:19:54):
But that's where Bill came from from what I've.

Speaker 3 (01:19:55):
Heard, well, Ja, Cory krossky Merritt.

Speaker 2 (01:19:58):
Okay, I assume that they're t talking about I'm just
a Bill from Schoolhouse Rock.

Speaker 3 (01:20:03):
No, and here he is in Washington.

Speaker 4 (01:20:05):
I don't think you know, I don't think any players
in the NFL will know what Schoolhouse rockets.

Speaker 3 (01:20:10):
They're a little too young. There is that.

Speaker 2 (01:20:12):
So when you said old, you meant like from twenty fifteen.

Speaker 3 (01:20:16):
Yeah, I mean yeah, probably, yeah, not from nineteen eighty two.

Speaker 4 (01:20:21):
The last cartoon I watched was like Beebs and butt
heead so and that's not even a real cartoon. But yeah, anyway,
enough about Bill, We'll talk more about Billy guys.

Speaker 3 (01:20:27):
Pretty good, South Park's pretty good.

Speaker 4 (01:20:29):
True.

Speaker 2 (01:20:30):
I think those I think those count all right, Brian,
who is your sleeper for this year?

Speaker 4 (01:20:34):
This week, I've been slurping the Seahawks, and I love
a rookie tight end. Elijah Arroyo, second round pick out
of Miami, six' five two fifty, five ran a four six.
Ninety he wore short shorts the other. Day you must
have gotten excited about. That you go check check the
social media's for. That it's it's all over. There but

(01:20:57):
Uh arroyo is. Legit they Kick Noah fan to the,
curb who was a former first round. Pick mike head,
coach excuse, me head, Coach mike McDonald On. Arroyo this
guy can run an extensive. Routree it's a tight end
tight end body on the. Field also can split out
wide DO x receiver type of things we talked About Cooper, Cup,

(01:21:17):
Jackson Jackson smith And. Jigba they're gonna be running up
up the. Seams it's gonna Be Elijah arroyo who's gonna
be like the alpha wide receiver when they're going three
wide For seattle Tight end twenty five right, NOW i
know rookie tight ends are kind of scaring rookie tight.

Speaker 3 (01:21:31):
Ends it's super it's super.

Speaker 2 (01:21:32):
Sketchy, yeah, Well Samuel, Porta Rock, BOWERS i don't.

Speaker 4 (01:21:36):
Know they're breaking the trend And arroyo is going to
help do. THAT i love them Tight end twenty five all.

Speaker 2 (01:21:40):
Day it is possible for a rookie tight end to
contribute early and, contribute you, know in a meaningful. Way
and the Way Brock bowers did, it he did it
on a bad. Team so if you don't even if
you don't trust The seattle. Offense you could come back
and just, say you know, what we saw Brock bowers
do it in a bad. Offense it can be, done
but more often than not by a, lot it does

(01:22:04):
not end up working out that.

Speaker 3 (01:22:05):
Way most first round tight.

Speaker 2 (01:22:07):
Ends it's it's even first, rounds and in this, Case
arroyo is the second. Rounder it's a slow development process almost.
Always SO i don't, Know i'm more nervous than you
are in terms Of arroyo's chances of early.

Speaker 3 (01:22:22):
Success hopefully that does not end up being the. Case
but we'll go find.

Speaker 5 (01:22:27):
The short shorts picture charge that might change.

Speaker 3 (01:22:28):
Your, mind that might change.

Speaker 2 (01:22:29):
Everything all, right my sleeper And i've Been this has
been my sleeper Since, march since the moment The vikings
traded For Jordan. Mason this has been my, guy AND
i had it validated by no less Than Aaron.

Speaker 3 (01:22:41):
Jones so the story goes like, this we bring.

Speaker 2 (01:22:45):
In we The vikings bring In Jordan mason to get
to be effectively into a. Timeshare, NOW i think a
lot of people didn't think it was going to be
a time, share but now we know because it's been
confirmed by the coaching staff and many other people around the.
Organization this is going to be an almost even split
Which Jordan mason And Aaron. Jones Aaron jones can catch
a lot, Better he's going to maintain SOME ppr, viability

(01:23:06):
But Jordan mason is going to get the tough.

Speaker 3 (01:23:08):
Yards how DO i know?

Speaker 2 (01:23:09):
That Aaron jones told me THAT i had the chance
to talk To Aaron jones at The vikings draft. PARTY
i asked, him who's gonna you, know what's the what's
the role going to look like with you And Jordan?
Mason and he, said Shortyarded geork's gonna go To Jordan.
Mason and the team's alluded to that as. Well so
it makes. Sense Aaron jones has spent two years failing
at the goal line For, minnesota and Now Jordan mason's

(01:23:31):
going to walk into that goal line role AND i
think he has the upside to get ten touchdowns this.

Speaker 3 (01:23:36):
Year you guys with, me m, yeah oh.

Speaker 4 (01:23:40):
Yeah that recent picture Of mason standing next To Aaron,
jones it was like the old one Of Derreck henry
and who was the his running?

Speaker 3 (01:23:48):
Maid, no it was someone even.

Speaker 4 (01:23:52):
TINIER i don't, know But mason Dwarfed Aaron, Jones, like
it's clear cut who's going to get the ball at
the goal. Line and by the, Way Aaron jones fumble
issues had a few last year that got Credited Sam
donald hurt my mba.

Speaker 5 (01:24:05):
Unfairly So jones better not be touching.

Speaker 4 (01:24:08):
The ball anywhere near the goal line From minnesota if
they if they can get there Without Sam.

Speaker 3 (01:24:12):
Darnold now the public.

Speaker 2 (01:24:14):
Figured this out a. Lot It's Jordan mason has. Moved
he's vaulted up draft. Boards he was going a month,
ago he was going roughly round. Twelve now he's going round.
Eight So Jordan, mason you, know the public has picked
up on. This i've been banging. Drum i'm not Saying
i've moved this, personally you, know to some great, degree
but the public has picked up On Jordan mason and

(01:24:36):
the fantasy importance that he can. Have now we're gonna
wrap up with a classic segment on this, show three Tough,
questions and we.

Speaker 3 (01:24:44):
Begin with this tough question number.

Speaker 2 (01:24:47):
One Does chicago wide Receiver Roma dunza make a sophomore?

Speaker 3 (01:24:52):
Breakout we begin With Matt. Harrison, Well i've kind of
poop pooed The bears all, day So i'm gonna say.
NO i we talked a lot About, caleb And i'll
add this the second wide receiver in A Ben johnson.
Offense last year it Was Jamison williams who hit a
thousand yards and seven touchdowns but only on fifty eight,
catches so he was crazy efficient with his. Catches but

(01:25:14):
the year before that it Was Josh reynolds who had
forty for six oh eight and five. Scores and the
year before that it Was Khalif raymond who had forty
seven catches for six hundred and sixteen yards and no.
Scores the theme is they're all under sixty. Catches two
of the three barely cracked six hundred yards and the
one who did was on a historically good, offense which

(01:25:37):
This bears team is not. That so no sophomore breakout For,
Dunza Brian.

Speaker 2 (01:25:42):
Johnson Does chicago wide Receiver Roma donsay make a sophomore?

Speaker 4 (01:25:47):
BREAKOUT i two have been bagging on The bears a little,
bit But Ben johnson and his past receivers In, detroit
what he said About romodonsay is he hasn't had a
wide receiver Like romadonsay. Before and what a lot of
teams probably. HAVEN'T i mean he has an alpha. Bill
The giants albeit run by a clown shoe openly admitted
ON hbo as well as to many other stupid, things

(01:26:09):
but they are practically flipping a. Coin Between Melik neighbors And,
romodunza there are pretty similar. Players odunza is actually, bigger,
faster amazing rookie season For odunse or promising.

Speaker 3 (01:26:22):
Amazing it was promising for a. While it could have.

Speaker 4 (01:26:25):
Been he ran four hundred and ninety five routes that
was fourteenth most among all wide. Receivers now on one
hundred and forty four of those. Routes not he wasn't.
Targeted not a single player was targeted for The. Bears
so the offense was in shambles last. Year it's gonna get.
Better it's not gonna be, Great it's gonna get. Better
odunonsay averaging ninety four air yards per game last, year

(01:26:47):
that's that's gonna tick up this. Year in my, MIND
i think he's gonna be the number one receiver OVER
dj more. Easily SO i am calling a breakout For.
Odunza they are gonna the offense is gonna go through.
Him it's not gonna go Through Dj More. Dunza he's
the alpha on this team.

Speaker 3 (01:27:02):
Now the correct answer is.

Speaker 2 (01:27:04):
No he will be better as a sophomore and there's
gonna be some great moments For Roma, dunza but a
lot of things working against him to have a full blown.
Breakout how long does it take for The Ben johnson
offense to?

Speaker 3 (01:27:17):
Click Is Caleb williams any? Good and what and if he?
Is is? That what's the learning curve look?

Speaker 2 (01:27:21):
Like does he get really good In, September, October, November?
December and there's just so many miles to, FEED Dj, Moore, Colson,
Lovelin Luther burden and they won't stop talking About Olamed
he's a CHAUS i, mean for whatever that's. Worth And
Ben johnson loves to run the, ball especially near the.
Stripe Oh dounze may need to score from. DISTANCE i don't,
know there's to. ME i think there's just too many
things that hold him back from a true.

Speaker 3 (01:27:43):
Breakout he'll be better this, year BUT.

Speaker 2 (01:27:45):
I don't Think rome is going to be have a
true breakout season this coming.

Speaker 3 (01:27:49):
Year let's move to tough question number.

Speaker 2 (01:27:53):
Two speaking of, sophomores Does Brock bowers have room to
get better or have we already seen his?

Speaker 3 (01:28:02):
Ceiling we begin with, You.

Speaker 4 (01:28:03):
Brian amazing rookie, year and it's incredible to think that
he slid so far in fantasy drafts because of that
one picture With gronk where he's like he.

Speaker 3 (01:28:13):
Had like the duck feet pos. Whatever but huge year For.

Speaker 4 (01:28:16):
Bowers only five touchdowns, though but that was With Jimmy
garoppolo AND i can't even Remember aidan. O'Connell Gino smith
is an. Upgrade so, Yes Brock bowers can get. BETTER
i mean he needs to score more. Touchdowns but one
hundred plus, yards twelve, hundred one hundred plus, catches twelve
hundred plus, YARDS i, mean there's not a lot of
room to, grow BUT i think he does. Grow gino

(01:28:38):
will be an. Improvement ash and Gen t will take
a lot of pressure off the pass.

Speaker 3 (01:28:41):
Game we can only.

Speaker 5 (01:28:42):
Hope So i'm gonna, Go, Yes bowers gets.

Speaker 3 (01:28:45):
Better bowers gets. Better.

Speaker 2 (01:28:49):
Matt have we seen the ceiling already in Brock bowers
or does he have room to get better as a?

Speaker 3 (01:28:55):
Sophomore, absolutely he's got a chance to be. Better he
had one hundred and fifty three, targets one hundred and
twelve catches and almost twelve hundred yards last. Year in
twenty twenty, two by the, Way Travis kelce had one
hundred and fifty two, targets one hundred and ten, catches
about three thirteen hundred, yards but he had twelve touchdowns
and Brock bowers only had five touchdowns last. Year that's

(01:29:17):
where there's room to. Grow they have better, coaches they
have a better. Quarterback his touches are going to be more.
Quality he's going to be.

Speaker 2 (01:29:23):
Better you hit on a lot of my talking points
where you can easily see Brock bauers getting twenty percent
better on the same number of. Targets is the efficiency
last year only the five, Touchdowns and there's a real
opportunity here if he has another one hundred and twelve catch,
season that Brock bauers ends up at something much closer
to ten twelve touchdowns and he can get. Better they're

(01:29:45):
an ash and genty's just gonna help the overall. Offense
people talk about gent siphoning off too much work From,
bowers BUT i see the. OPPOSITE i just see more
scoring opportunities from a better. Offense that helps everybody all,
right let's go to our final question.

Speaker 3 (01:30:00):
Off question number.

Speaker 2 (01:30:01):
Three who is the single most valuable handcuff for this
year's fantasy?

Speaker 3 (01:30:07):
Drafters, MATT i think It's Daniel jones of The, colts
a quarterback. Handcuff. Hey either, way it's the Backup colts.
Quarterback in the games That richardson started and finished last,
year he averaged twenty point two Standard fantasy. Points that's
more Than Justin Herbert Dak, Prescott Jordan, love and a
host of other. Guys Daniel jones averaged seventeen in a

(01:30:29):
Terrible giants offense last, year but in his last healthy
season with The giants he averaged over twenty points per
game as. Well both these guys ad a ton on the.
Ground whoever wins the job might not keep it for,
long SO i draft. Both If i'm drafting, one they'll
still be good from a fantasy, standpoint even when they're
both losing their job at some point throughout the. SEASON

(01:30:50):
i might just avoid.

Speaker 2 (01:30:52):
Both, brian who's the most valuable handcuffed in fantasy?

Speaker 4 (01:30:55):
Drafts at, FIRST i thought you were going to hate this,
Answer BUT i think you're actually gonna love it Because
i'm Taking Sean tucker of the bucks here because if
something were to, happen so you're a, Boy Bucky irving.
CHARGE i Love Sean. Tucker in his third, year he
had monster games as a. Starter last, year the loss
Of Tristan wurf's. Hurts but H Sean, tucker no one's

(01:31:15):
talking about. Him Rashad white is not going to step
in For Bucky. Irving Rashad white's going to stay With Shad.
White Shawan tucker will be the starting running back if
something happens To Bucky irving and he's, free And i'm
grabbing him WHEREVER i.

Speaker 2 (01:31:26):
CAN i Consider jalen right, HERE i Consider Justice hill.
Here BUT i landed with the correct answer Of Ray.

Speaker 3 (01:31:34):
Davis you, Know James cook is still holding.

Speaker 2 (01:31:36):
Out and look this is and by the, way this
is an old fashioned hold, out not one of these
new hold inns that players like to do now that's
like the hot new thing is the hold.

Speaker 3 (01:31:45):
In we don't have the hold in.

Speaker 2 (01:31:46):
Here you know last Year cook missed one, game and
in that, game what Did Ray davis? Do twenty carries
one hundred, yards three, catches fifty five receiving yards in
A week six win against the Good jets, Defense Ray
davis walks into a huge. Workload if anything happens To James,
cook and If James cook does this long, enough we've seen,

(01:32:09):
many many, times like last year With BRANDON, i where
guys hold up for the entire training camp and they're
just not ready for the next, season that maybe that
happens here With. Cook who knows now on out Probability
cook ends up signing in time for week, one but
we don't know if that's going to be the case or.

Speaker 3 (01:32:25):
Not thank you for, listening.

Speaker 2 (01:32:27):
Everybody Fantasy Football weekly season number thirty one in the,
books the first. Episode we're here with you all season,
long including next, week live At Treasure Island, Casino friday
the fifteenth at six.

Speaker 3 (01:32:41):
