Speaker 1 (00:02):
Time now for Fantasy Football Weekly from iHeartRadio, your weekly
source for the nation's best fantasy speculation and advice.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
Now here's your host, Paul Judge.
Speaker 3 (00:14):
Yet Welcome to Fantasy Football Weekly. It is week number ten,
double digit weeks in. Hopefully you are in a great
spot at this later stage of the season, playoffs getting closer.
Here to help me this week, Brian Johnson and Kent
Why Rock.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
Hey, guys, good to have you back. It's been a
little bit. I've missed you.
Speaker 1 (00:37):
I don't think I've done the show with Kent. I
was just gonna say, yeah, first time training camp.
Speaker 3 (00:43):
And maybe know there's summer one or so. Yeah, this
is our combo, all right, first time combo. That means
it's the first time for the three of us as well.
Speaker 1 (00:51):
This is Kent and I have known each other for
a long time for the It's true. We did a
dynasty league way back of Minnesota only dynasty league, way
back in the day. We'll still run it to this day.
I mean without how's my team? How's my team doing?
Speaker 4 (01:04):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (01:04):
I don't remember. I think it's okay somewhere in the middle.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
Good. Yeah, someone took it over. All right, I'm done.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
Because you abandon your crappy team.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
Well, I moved. I moved from minute No. The team
was solid, very solid team. I moved from Minnesota, so
I got I gotta I got expelled.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
We have a very strict Minnesota only rule, so I
gotta go play golf at the rookie draft.
Speaker 1 (01:22):
So I miss it.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
So well, you know, if.
Speaker 3 (01:24):
It's a good league, you travel for that. I traveled
back to Minnesota for live drafts. That's you travel for
good leagues. Brian, tell them charge. I know, Yeah, a
couple of hundred bucks for you.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
Who cares if you're listening out there, I don't know
who has it. I'm coming back from my team. There'll
be they're be in good shape still.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
Well, yeah it's Paul. It's probably in better shape than
the way you left it.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
There's plenty to get to over the course of this show,
including take a chance on meat. That's nine players you
would not normally start. Many of these guys on the
waiver wire will help you with that. We've got three
tough questions coming in as well. You'll try to play along,
try to go three and oh and premature speculation still
going for our crew will break down all the matchups
f FW style, We've got four teams on by for
(02:11):
some bad defenses on By, which is gonna mean fewer
scoring opportunities, fewer layups, harder decisions to make. But let's
begin with probably the ugliest matchup on the weekend's card,
and that's the Saints taking on the Panthers. Brian, Yeah,
it's gotten uglier.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
Well we'll get into that in a minute, but starting
on the Saint side where it's the ugliest and Alvid
kamaraugh questionable with an ankle injury. But does it even matter.
I don't know if I'm starting Camara fully healthy to
put things into perspective how poorly it's going for Kamara,
Omari and Hampton has scored more Fantasy points in album
(02:49):
Kamara and amariy and Hampton hasn't played since Week five,
So yeah, even if fully healthy, a brutal matchup. Don't
sleep on the Panthers. James Cook lit him up a
couple of weeks ago. That game was an anomaly. James
Connor when he was healthy, Bejon Robinson, Devon a Chan,
Javonte Williams, Priest Hall and Josh Jacobs of All Fays
Carolina collectively, they've combined to average sixty six combo yards
(03:12):
per game. That is it. So Kamara on the bench
and if he's out, Devin Neil, if he's maybe on
volume alone, but don't expect good numbers from either. I
got him both on the bench basically unless you're absolutely
desperate over to the receiving game. Sadly, Chris o'lovey is
a desperation cee for me this week. I know Rashichi
(03:33):
head has been shipped off to Seattle, so more targets
probably come in his Alave's way, but more attention as well.
The Panthers have allowed the second fewescepsion receptions to wide
receivers ten per game, and among all teams, the third
fewest touchdowns only five. And they haven't had their bye
week yet, and Olave's targets catches yards per game significantly
(03:55):
down on the road. And for what it's worth, last
year two awful games against the Pan, there's one catch
for thirteen yards, two catches for eleven did not score
in either. So just to see for a Lave, I
am't gonna give Jawan Johnson a b in the tight
end wasteland, though Rashichi he'd gone. Johnson's gonna see a
lot more targets. Carolina allowing the seventh most passing yards
per game, the fourth highest yards per reception, and the
(04:18):
ninth most fantasy points per game to tight ends. So
a B for Johnson. Tyler Schuck on the bench not
getting into that at all. Over to the Carolina side,
Rico Dowdell thankfully returned to practice fully on Friday. He
is a go, just an automatic A at this point.
It is a solid matchup. But Rico Toutle League winner
Juba Hubbard, he's bench material. I would have. I think
(04:43):
he's still worthy of a handcuffs, especially if you have doubtle.
He's not as good as Rico Toutle is. But anyway,
enough to talk about Juw. But it's all about Rico
A for him. Sadly, tedor Roha McMillan popped up on
the injury report on Friday with a quad injury. I
only had to see grade on him because the Panthers
just don't pass a lot. But t Mac if he's out,
(05:06):
I would give I will give Xavier Lagett and Jalen
Cocher a see I have them on the bench. If
t Mac plays, but the Panthers, they rank second in
rush rate. They're just gonna run the rock all day long.
So a see for TAMAC if he plays, but I
would look elsewhere. Quad injury on Friday not good. I
would expect him not to play. Jatavian Sanders. He's on
the bench regardless, and uh, Bryce Young, I had him
(05:28):
on the bench before t mac popped up on the
injury report. His history against the Saints one hundred and
seventy one passing yards, one touchdown, one sixty one zero
one thirty seven zero one fifty three to one. That's
probably his ceiling in this game is gonna be all
about Rico Dawdle. He's on the bench. Bryce Young, I.
Speaker 3 (05:48):
Would contend, it's not the tight end waste Land. I
think you just say that because we've said it so
many years. We're having a pretty good tight end year.
Now tell that to Brock Powers for Craft.
Speaker 2 (05:57):
Yeah, well that's true too.
Speaker 5 (05:59):
I mean the guy with the single highest Fantasy game
in the in the season so far him.
Speaker 3 (06:04):
Yeah, that guy who had one catch on Thursday night.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
That's true.
Speaker 1 (06:08):
It was like in the first quarter of like thirty
yards and you're like, here, do we go.
Speaker 3 (06:12):
Yeah, but look at what we've gotten. We've gotten h
We've got Rondi Gadston every week startered, Dalton Kincaid has
been good, Juan Johnson, who you just mentioned, has been good.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
Even Dalton Schultz has been playable.
Speaker 3 (06:26):
Kyle Kyle Pitts of all guys, has been a fairly
the Kyle Pitts fantasy.
Speaker 1 (06:35):
It just rolls off the tongue.
Speaker 3 (06:37):
I think that's muscled memories with that is Buffalo takes
on the Miami Dolphins Kent. This Miami rum defense has
been terrible all year. James Cook is going to play
in this one. There was some concern injury concern, but
looks like Cook is gonna go.
Speaker 5 (06:51):
Yeah, he is gonna go, and he's been real hot lately.
I am giving him the A grade even though he
was limited parts of this week in practice.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
Some metrics for you here.
Speaker 5 (06:59):
He's got a five point seven yards per carry, tied
for first, one point five rushing yards over expectation, first
ninety point one rush grade, first third in EPA per attempt,
and the only downside he's only had one target last
three week games. But I think we will forgive him
with how dominant he has been on the ground. The
Dolphins have been obviously very poorest to the run game
(07:21):
thirty first and explosive run plays allowed this year. Last
week they allowed Derek Henry to get back into his
form with six point three of carry. I think this
is gonna be a great game for James Cook, you know,
swinging out over to the passing game.
Speaker 2 (07:33):
Josh Allen easy a.
Speaker 5 (07:34):
He's been a QB one six out of eight games
this year, tied ball second.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
Only behind Mahomes.
Speaker 5 (07:39):
He's gonna be throwing the ball to Khalil Shakir, who
gets a C grade. Minka Fitzpatrick is a premier slot
corner safety obviously, but he's very good at covering out
of the slot. Shakir plays seventy one percent of his
snaps from the slots. Sixty percent of his targets are
from the slot. He's gonna see a lot of minca
in this game, and it's going to downgrade him quite
a bit. I just don't like Shakiir's opportun He's much
(08:00):
in this game, even though he's probably still their top dog.
Keia call me on the bench. You don't even think
about it. Josh Palmer's coming back. He's had three or
few receptions each last three weeks. He just got to
not worry about him anymore. And in Dalton kin Kate,
even even Kyle Pitts has had good games against this
Dolphins defense. So d even Kyle Pitts, and he's been
good this year. I liked him, and he's been working out.
But don Kin Kate in a great spot here over
(08:22):
on the Dolphin side of things. Tu a tongue VII.
We got to bench him. It's just been up and
down with him. I don't want to try and call
my shots with him anymore. I'm just gonna let someone
else take that opportunity. The Bills are allowing the second
fewest fantasy points to quarterback, so this is definitely not
the game to play him. Devon h Chan, on the
other hand, I'll give him an A grade. I was
worried about doing it, but I think I'm gonna stick
(08:43):
with it. The Bills have allowed ten rushing touchdowns to
running backs this season, which is second most. They've allowed
the twenty eighth most explosive rushing up plays allowed, and
then they are also eighth in yards after contact per
attempt and fourth and breakaway percent allowed, so it's a
pretty easy matchup on the ground for Devon eight Chan.
Speaker 2 (09:01):
I'll give him the A.
Speaker 5 (09:03):
Jalen Waddle gets a B grade. Four of his last
five games have been eighty two plus receiving yards. He
still hasn't hit ten targets in a game this year yet.
This despite Tyreek missing most of the season. It sounds
like Christian Benford, cornerback for the Bills, is questionable. He's
kind of been in and out of practice this week.
He does tend to shadow, so if he plays, he'll
be on Waddle. But he's allowing one hundred and eighteen
(09:24):
passer ratings, so it's not as bad as usual. League Washington,
I'm not worried about him. I'm benching him. Tarron Johnson's
good and slot coverage. I'm not going to try and
pick my shot with him. And then yeah, don't think
about Greg Dalchitz hard bench. He looked okay last week,
but Julian Hill's coming back, so just ignore it.
Speaker 3 (09:43):
That's it for the Dolphins side, all right, Let's go
over to the Ravens taking on the Vikings. This is
going to be a very Derek Henry led game. John
Harbaugh's resurrected the Ravens season by using Henry as a
workhorse over the last three weeks, averaging twenty one carries
and in games with at least eight team carries, Henry's
averaging one hundred and twenty rushing yards.
Speaker 2 (10:04):
He's been running back thirteen or better in all of those.
Speaker 3 (10:06):
If you agree that there's gonna be a lot of
Derek Henry comming, you're certainly going to start in with
a B grade against an inconsistent Vikings run defense. As
for Lamar Jackson, quality passers getting it done against the Vikings,
Aaron Rodgers, Jalen Hurtz, Justin Herbert, Jared Goff. Those are
the four really good quarterbacks that have faced the Vikings.
They've had a seventy five percent completion rate, two hundred
(10:28):
and sixty yards and two point three touchdowns per game
against the Vikings. Jackson should have some success on the
ground as well. A grade for Lamar Jackson Zay Flowers
is his best receiver. He runs from all over the field,
which gives the Ravens the ability to find his preferred matchup,
and I think it's going to be from the slot
this week.
Speaker 2 (10:48):
Last week, I'm on ross.
Speaker 3 (10:49):
Saint Brown was targeted thirteen times against Minnesota, piling up
ninety seven yards mostly from the slot.
Speaker 2 (10:56):
Flowers is a tough to tackle water bug.
Speaker 3 (10:58):
He ranked sixth best and avoided ten rate amongst receivers,
fifth best in yards after the catch. He's been very
reliable in Lamar Jackson games, and he comes in with
a B grade.
Speaker 2 (11:07):
Here's your flyer from this game. It's for Shod Bateman.
Speaker 3 (11:11):
Last week I mentioned that Jamison Williams as once a
month flyer was a nice play against the Vikings. That
one came peak. Get the peacock ready here, Robbie, that
one came through. I think Bateman similar category here, deep
ball threat against the Vikings, Minnesota giving up the league's
highest completion rate on deep passes fifty nine percent. Only
(11:35):
two teams have allowed more touchdowns on deep passes than Minnesota.
So for deep ball specialists like for Shod Bateman, this
is a chance.
Speaker 1 (11:42):
And the last game of sorts too.
Speaker 2 (11:45):
It is former not born in.
Speaker 1 (11:47):
Minnesota, but obviously a former Golden Goverer, well obvious to
us on the show. Yes and now everyone listening as.
Speaker 3 (11:54):
A go the two tight ends, Mark Andrews Isaiah Likely.
They're splitting time almost evenly. Last week they both posted
good fantasy games. Could happen again here. Over the past
four games, the Vikings have given up four tight end touchdowns,
third most, including a ninety seven yard game to Sam
Laporta last week. I don't love it. If it weren't
(12:15):
a bye week, i'd given both bench grades. But with
the buys, we're going to go see grade on both
Andrews and Likely. And for the Viking side, let's start
with the running game with Jones and Mason. It looks
like Jones is going to play through his shoulder injury.
But you should note that these shoulder injuries and running
backs are bad combo. They get tackled on the shoulder
all the time, They could fall on the shoulder, get
hit on the shoulder, helmet to the shoulder, A lot
of things to go wrong here. Jones got a lot
(12:36):
more work last week before the injury, and it looked
really good. In PPR leagues, Jones the preferred play against
a defense allowing the eighth most running back receiving yards.
Mason remains the likely goal line back if the opportunity arises,
though Baltimore has seen the fourth most rushing place from
inside the five yard line, so there is a chance
for a touchdown for Mason. Both Mason and Jones see grades,
(12:59):
know your scoring sys them to use them effectively. Justin
Jefferson obvious a grade which I'm going to continue to
say obvious even with the JJ McCarthy starts. But he
is seeing four fewer targets per game and two fewer
target catches per game under JJ McCarthy than he did
under Carson Wentz. For Jordan Addison. In their first game
(13:20):
together last week, JJ only completed two passes to Addison.
Speaker 2 (13:23):
That's a worry.
Speaker 3 (13:23):
McCarthy isn't being allowed to throw very many balls. He's
averaging just twenty two passes per game. That is the
lowest of any quarterback who's got three starts, like JJ does.
Since the Ravens secondary return to health three games ago,
depth receivers have done very little, and I don't see
him making big catches downfield against Kyle Hamilton, the league's
highest ranking coverage safety. So I can only get you
(13:44):
to a C grade on Jordan Addison. I do I
do have a C grade on TJ Hockinson. He scored
in his revenge game last week, which Brian Johnson assured
me would happen off Mike, but prior to that he
had finished better than tight end nineteen only one time,
So you.
Speaker 2 (14:01):
Got to pick your spots with Hockinson.
Speaker 3 (14:02):
It might be here because every single opposing team has
had a tight end top at least thirty eight yards
against the Ravens, including fifth stringer Greg Dulsige last week,
who caught five balls for forty nine yards against Baltimore.
So we'll put Hockinson on a st grade and that
leaves us with JJ McCarthy.
Speaker 2 (14:18):
The Ravens have been one of the.
Speaker 3 (14:19):
Most feeble pass rush teams in the league, and no
small part because the loss of Nandi Madubice their twenty
fourth and pass rush winweight. Last week, McCarthy spent the
third longest time before passing three point two seconds. He's
got to learn to get the ball out of his
hand faster, but that can unlock some bigger downfield plays.
Speaker 2 (14:37):
Hopefully that'll be the case here.
Speaker 3 (14:39):
But the Ravens have an entirely healthy secondary and in
the last three games when healthy, they've been great. Matthew Stafford,
Caleb Williams and Tua Tungo Violoa. I've scored one zero
and zero touchdowns. Bench Gray on JJ McCarthy. When we
come back, it's time for take a chance on me.
Nine players you wouldn't normally start your probably gonna find
(15:00):
somewhere with your roster. We're gonna help you unearth some
gems when we return Fantasy Football Weekly.
Speaker 6 (15:26):
Yeah, tell me chance. Trying to get a chance out.
Speaker 3 (15:46):
Heke a chance? I mean none players you would not
normally start. All of these guys playable this week.
Speaker 2 (15:51):
You're gonna find some of them on the waiver wire.
Speaker 3 (15:54):
We begin at the quarterback position and Kent why rock.
Speaker 2 (15:58):
Oh, We're gonna get a real nasty with this one.
Speaker 5 (16:00):
I'm going with Davis Mills versus the Jacksonville jaguarres. I know,
I know, but honestly, if you take a look at
the streaming quarterbacks this week, most of them have really
tough matchups. So you know CJ. Stroud's gonna be out
with a concussion. Davis Mills, you got to pick your spots.
In twenty twenty two when he was the starter for
the Texans, he did have three top twelve QB performances.
If you can find him in the rough there. The
(16:22):
Jacks pass defense is absolutely reeling. Gino Smith threw for
two hundred and eighty four yards four touchdowns last week.
Stafford had five touchdowns against them the week prior on
just one hundred and eighty two passing yards. With Travis
hunder on ir Jordan lewis not practicing. I just think
it's a good spot. And if you're really going through
it and you're you're missing out on you know, Mahomes
(16:42):
or someone like that, take a stab.
Speaker 2 (16:44):
Davis Mills is your guy, all right.
Speaker 3 (16:46):
I'm not totally fove sold on that, but you did
your best in a tough situation to make a case
for Davis Mills.
Speaker 2 (16:52):
Ryan, you take a chance on me quarterback.
Speaker 1 (16:54):
I like Davis Mills and daily any quarterback under five k,
I always.
Speaker 3 (16:58):
Got here you go.
Speaker 1 (16:59):
I like, I like that call. He's gonna be a
little more than five k, but he's still pretty cheap.
Justin fields at home versus the Browns and fields five
starts where he played the entire game, he has finished
as a QB one four times, QB two, QB four,
QB seven, and QB twelve overall, and in those five games,
he has averaged forty five rushing yards with three rushing scores.
(17:21):
And that's always the angle with Fields, always is the
Browns have only faced one more mobile quarterback all season.
That was Drake May in Week eight. He had seven
carries for fifty yards. And the Browns run defense has
kind of fallen off a little bit overall. We'll talk
about Field as a running back in this sense. Since
Week five, the Browns have allowed the eleventh the eleventh
most yards before contact per attempt, the third highest misstackle rate,
(17:45):
the eleventh most rushing yards per game, and the sixth
highest explosive run rate, and middle linebacker Carson Schwesinger questionable
to play. And oh yeah, Fields does throw the ball.
Garrett Wilson will make his return on Sunday. We'll talk
more about that late in that matchup.
Speaker 3 (18:00):
But uh, justin Fields, when Fields can avoid getting benched
and he plays a whole game, he dudes money.
Speaker 2 (18:08):
I mean, you know, you know we don't like it.
Speaker 3 (18:09):
I mean, what you really when you take Fields, you're
basically just saying I think Fields will finish the game,
because when he does, he's usually a top ten fantasy quarterback.
Speaker 2 (18:18):
I'm going with Michael Penix against Indianapolis.
Speaker 3 (18:20):
Now, in transparency, I'm gonna let you know that I
picked Penix before the Sauce Gardner trade for this bit,
and I could have changed it down the later down
the week, and I was like, Ah, even though Pennick's
playing in is playing Indian Sauce Gardner, I'm still gonna
stick with him because Gardner probably is not going in
his first game in India. I'm five days based He's
(18:41):
gonna be a epic factor here. And it's not like
teams are getting nothing done against Sauce Gardner when he
was with the Jets. And over the past six games,
the Colts are giving up three hundred and one passing
yards and one point seven touchdown passes per game. So
even if Sauce helps that, there's still a lot of
room for Michael Penix to have a decent game here.
It's not all about not all about about Sauce. Pannick's
(19:03):
coming off that three touchdown his first ever three touchdown
game last week in the London Fest. Let's go to
the running back position, Kent, who you got.
Speaker 5 (19:10):
Yeah, I'm going Devin Singletary against the Chicago Bears, a
notoriously bad run defense last week, Devin Singletary out snapped, out, touched,
and outplayed Tyrone Tracy, which you know, frankly, isn't that hard.
I think the Tyrone Tracy experiment has just done. He's
got just a thirty four percent success rate on the season.
I thought Singletary, who touched the ball ten times, looked
pretty decent against the Niners. He's always had a little
(19:31):
bit of pep in his step. And the Bears are
bottom ten in rush yards per game, yards per attempt,
stuff right, rush yards over expectation per attempt, and explosive
plays allowed. So not to mention the running backs that
they've played against has been a very weak crop of
pure rushers, so I think they're actually worse than we think,
and Singletary is in a good spot.
Speaker 3 (19:50):
Yeah, on paper, the Bears run defense looks a lot
better than last year.
Speaker 2 (19:53):
But I agree with you.
Speaker 3 (19:54):
Singletary's to the eye test, looked really good last week.
I think you're dismissing Tyrone Tracy a little bit faster
than the coaching staff's going to But I agree with
your call on on Devin Singletary, especially whether is a
factor in Chicago, which many expect Brian, let's go to here.
Speaker 2 (20:10):
Take a chance on me running back.
Speaker 1 (20:13):
I got Cardinals Imari de Marcado, Yes, that Imari de Marcado,
the infamous fumble, which I still don't think was a
fumble by the way, I can't weevely overturn that. But
he's learned his lesson Pierce. He will be the starter
in this game. Quietly reeled off seventy nine rushing yards
on Monday Night against the Cowboys. He did the right
thing and slid in bounds to help secure the win.
(20:36):
That was a good look. It is a tough matchup
in Seattle. No won back has topped one hundred combo
yards against the Seahawks, but I think ed rises to
the occasion here, even against competition. Uh Demart de Marcado
did catch a touchdown when these teams met in Week four,
and opposing backs are averaging more than six catches per
(20:57):
game against the Seahawks. So taking a chance on de Marcado.
Speaker 2 (21:03):
Well done in there. That was some snappy writing right there.
Speaker 3 (21:06):
David Montgomery goes up against Washington, and at this point
I'm interested in pretty much any carbon based life form
against the Commanders. Here's some futility stats for them against
the run twenty fourth and run defense success rate twenty
seventh and run defense EPA fifteenth in yards before contact.
You got to pick your spots of David Montgomery, but
this feels like one of them. Three of the past
four teams to face Washington have had a runner post
(21:28):
a monster game, and granted, Gibbs is probably going to
get first crack at most of that, but last week
Monty actually out carried and outscored Gibbs last week from
a fantasy standpoint, so we'll give David Montgomery a try
here against the Commanders in an easy matchup. All right,
let's go to our receivers, Kent, who is you taking
chance on your receiver?
Speaker 5 (21:46):
Yeah, I'm going de Mario Douglas playing against Tampa Bay
last week after Keishaan Budi got knocked out, and it
sounds like he will be out again this week. Per
his Discord server, Douglas had four for six targets on
and he had one hundred yards in a touchdown twenty
two percent target share with one hundred and thirty one
air yards. Kyle Williams did play more snaps, but he
earned just one target and didn't catch it, so I
(22:08):
think you're gonna have to wait a little bit to
see more Kyle Williams in action. I think they're going
to go with the veteran presence in Douglas and he
was trusted in the hurry up offense last week too,
so it's another sign that the coaching staff has his trust.
I do think that in the last four weeks the
Bucks have had the twenty fifth most explosive passing plays allowed,
so it's definitely a good spot for the passing attack
(22:30):
of the Patriots. And you just want to be attached
to Drake May right now, that's for sure. So I'm
taking Douglas all right, Brian, you take a chance of
me receiver.
Speaker 1 (22:38):
I got Indies Alec Pierce against Atlanta in Deutschland. Pierce
used to take a lot of flack on this show
from Fish and I because you would just run around
and never get a target. He'd run like a marathon
and cardio master, yeah he was the cardio master, but
he is legit. This season seventy two receiving yards per game.
That's tenth of Bunk seventy nine qualified wide receivers, two
(22:59):
point four yards per route run that is twelfth among
all wide receivers. Over the last month, Pierce is averaging
eight targets per game. That's even more impressive because he
has the fourth highest a dot at twenty yards during
that span. This week faces Atlanta, who runs the single
highest the highest single high safety rate in the NFL,
(23:21):
and against single high Piers has a twenty eight percent
target share with three point seven yards per route run
and a thirty three percent first read share. Those are
elite numbers. So I like Alec Pierce a lot in
this one.
Speaker 3 (23:34):
All right, I'm going with Wendale Robinson as he goes
up against the Bears. This is the Giants wide receiver
runs overwhelmingly from the slot and the Bears are still
missing their slot cornerback Kyler Gordon. That they've tried Nick
McCloud at slot. He's allowing a ninety percent catch rate.
That's bad. They tried CJ. Gardner Johnson in slot duty
(23:55):
last week. He had been cut by Houston in Week four,
shows up for the They play him and he promptly
gave up a touchdown to slot receiver Andre Yoshivash, which
was called here on this show last week. Big not
only is one dal Robinson to take a chance to
be player.
Speaker 2 (24:14):
He is a B grade and for me, all right.
Speaker 3 (24:18):
Let's work in one matchup and that is Cleveland Brown's
taking on the New York Jets. Brian Man, you got
some bad matchups. You had Saints Panthers, and now you
get Brown's.
Speaker 1 (24:27):
Jets, Brown's Jets and then Bengals Jets the week before.
The Jets are is on an epic run right now,
but start with the Browns. Quinchn Judkins is an elite
play this week off the injury report with the shoulder issue,
gets an A grade here against the Jets, who just
gutted their defense, including defensive tackle Quinn Williams. Big boats
very well for Judkins who despite missing significant time this season,
(24:52):
four hundred and thirty five yards after contact that's a
third among all running backs. Five rushing touchdowns is seventh,
twenty nine first downs, that's seventh. He is an elite,
elite player and against his Jets defense that was allowing
one hundred and nine rushing yards per game. That's gonna
go off now after this week. So Judkins with an
A only running back for starting for Cleveland in this game,
(25:13):
though not going to start any wide receivers for the Browns,
including Jerry Judy. With Dylan Gabriel under center, Judy as
a sixteen percent target chare averaging nineteen receiving yards per game.
Not great. I know Sauce Garter no longer a Jet,
and Michael Carter as well one of their other cornerbacks,
but not much upside here for Judy with Dylan Gabriel
under center, he's on the bench. I do like both
(25:35):
tight ends, David and Joku and Harold Fannin. Gonna give
him both a C. I'll give him an A if
they were one person. Both have been top twelve tight
ends with Gabriel at quarterback, and the Jets have been
a solid matchup for opposing tight ends who are averaging
five catches and forty plus yards per game. Pretty decent.
And the Jets have also surrendered six tight end touchdowns
in eight games played. So solid C for In, Djoku
(25:56):
and Fannin. No grade for Gabriel, he's on the bench.
Might throw a DFS started him as well, but no,
he's on the bench. Among us normal fantasy players. Over
to the Jets side, Presaull borderline bench grade. He's still
on the Jets, by the way, but gonna give him
a sea on surface. It's on surface. It's a brutal matchup.
Cleveland is second fewest in Fantasy points allowed to running backs,
(26:18):
number one in rush defense success rate, and number one
in yards before contact. But I mentioned earlier and take
a chance on me. The run defense has softened a
little as of late. I think Hall still will see
his twenty twenty five opportunities in this one, even though
Isaiah Davis has been threatening. I'm giving Hall to see
Davis still on the bench, but his staff stash worthy
(26:39):
because we don't know what we'll talk about Presaull more later,
won't we charge in the show? It's enough for now.
Garrett Wilson mentioned him, and take a chance on me.
He will make his return. I'm gonna give him a
precautionary see here. Though not a great matchup, but the
Browns are one of five teams who have had their
buy who have also surrendered double digit wide receiver touchdowns,
so you can start Wilson making his return from injury.
(27:02):
I was gonna give Mason Taylor Jets tight end to
see if Wilson was out, but with Wilson back, I
got Taylor on the bench. Big names like Tucker Kraft,
Sam Laporta, Mark Andrews all had big duds against the Browns.
Hunter Henry did score against Cleveland in Week eight, but
it was his only catch for seven yards. So Taylor
now on the bench, with Wilson back in the fold
(27:24):
and Justin Fields was might take a chance on me?
Or I was about to say running back, but he's
my favorite chessy quarterback. But we're planning for that Russian upside, baby.
But Garrett Wilson return that helps.
Speaker 3 (27:37):
Can't Let's go over to the Jaguars taking on the Texans.
I'm gonna focus on Traves etn for just a minute.
I saw the stat come by this week. He's had
five carries from inside the five zero touchdowns.
Speaker 5 (27:49):
Yeah, that doesn't really surprise me. The efficiency, the explosiveness,
it just doesn't really seem to be there in these
last few weeks that we saw early in the season.
He's a volume c this week. The Texans. You know,
they're allowing the seventh least rushing yards, but weirdly enough,
they're allowing the eighth most rushing touchdowns. They've allowed seven
this year. The only problem is, like you said he's
(28:09):
just not getting a lot of inside the five touches.
Tuton has two to Etn's zero yet this year, so
just to see for him, and I'm going to bench
the entire passing attack for Jacksonville Jaguars. Trevor Lawrence has
not been good. Just two multi touchdown games all year.
Not much else you need to say there. This Texans
defense is stout. And then Parker Washington, who's had a
(28:32):
lot of targets recently nineteen in his last two games,
is likely going to see Derek Stingley Junior. Because of
Brian Thomas being out in this game. New receiver Jacoby
Myers plays more from the slot. He's going to be
going against slot cornerback Jalen Petre, who allows the least
epa per target in the league. So it's just really
bad across the board. And then you know, back to
(28:52):
basechallpe Tuton, he's a bench as well. You don't want
to try and ride or die on a touchdown against
this Texans defense. Looking over on the Texans side of
the ball, Davis Mills was might take a chance on
me quarterback. I'll give him a C and I'll say
the only reason I'm not giving him a number.
Speaker 2 (29:07):
B is a little bit of O line injuries too.
I like him that much. This week.
Speaker 5 (29:10):
Woody Marx, on the other hand, gets a C grade.
It's gonna be He's had three straight games of three
plus rushing attempts, three plus targets, thank you, and his
efficiency has been up and down these last few weeks.
So it's really hasn't been a strong showing overall, but
you've seen flashes for sure. Nick Chubb has been not
practicing nearly as much this week. He has two limited
(29:31):
practices going into Friday, so it's going to be a
good opportunity for Woody Marx to get some work on
the ground and through the air.
Speaker 2 (29:38):
And then we're benching Nick chubbed. I mean, his role
is dwindling.
Speaker 5 (29:41):
He hasn't eat six fifty percent of snap since Week three,
a yard per carry of three point two over his
last three games, and no targets last week against Denver.
He's not usable right now. Just drop him, let someone
else try and find the spot. Nico Collins gets an
A grade. Twenty one targets in his last two games.
His last game versus Jacksonville was eight for eleven for
a hundre four yards and a touchdown. We'll mostly see
(30:02):
Greg Newsom in coverage, who is allowed a one hundred
and thirty two passer rating in coverage as a hears defender,
so it's a good spot for him. Christian Kirk gets
a C coming back. He got an eight target game
looked okay. He had seventy percent of routes, nineteen percent
target and air yard share.
Speaker 2 (30:19):
So he's in a good spot.
Speaker 5 (30:20):
The numbers aren't really totally there, but if you really
need a desperation play, he's okay. And then Dalton Dalton Schultz,
excuse me, gets a C grade. The snap percentage and
targets have been solid over the last month, just not
really exciting. Six plus targets, five plus reception, sixty plus
yards in three of his last four games. Just hasn't
scored a touchdown yet this year, so you really kind
of need that to make it anything more.
Speaker 2 (30:40):
Than a see.
Speaker 3 (30:42):
I was looking at some Christian Kirk as a possible
take a chance on me guy, and it turns out
Jacksonville oddly has given up the fewest fantasy points to
slot receivers. Wow, what of the god it's Jacksonville. Holy cow.
That's that was a little bit surprising. Kirk's off my radar. Now,
I don't think that. I don't think that's an area
I want to go.
Speaker 1 (31:03):
I've added and dropped Christian Kirklake four times in multiple leagues.
Speaker 2 (31:09):
Yes, I don't blame you. That only four. That's that's impressive.
It's impressive.
Speaker 3 (31:14):
When we come back Giants Bears, it could be our
first big snow game of the year.
Speaker 2 (31:21):
It could be snow, it could be cold rain, it
could be sleet, or it could be.
Speaker 4 (31:30):
Sneat.
Speaker 3 (31:31):
That's right, possible sneak Giants Bears. When we come back
to Fantasy Football Weekly, Welcome back fan, I see Football Weekly.
(32:01):
Paul Charchie and Brian Johnson and Kent Wyrock with you.
If you haven't already subscribed to the Fantasy Life YouTube channel,
you may want to do that. Tons of content every day,
including the Chop podcast for Guillotine players me, Brian Johnson
Tuesdays and Thursdays, and Ian Hartitz show like nearly every day.
I don't know how this guy does it. They work
(32:22):
him hard. Ian hart It's show is fantastic. We highly
encourage you to subscribe to the Fantasy Life YouTube Channel
Giants take on the Bears in a possible weather game
thirty four degrees cold rain.
Speaker 2 (32:35):
Maybe turning two. That's right, sneat.
Speaker 3 (32:39):
We could have a sneak showing in Chicago, but either way,
you're gonna see a lot of running in this game.
Devin Singletary was Kent's take a chance on me running back.
I had a C grade on him. Tyrone Tracy startable
only as a PPR flyer. He does not get goal
line looks, and this is a surprisingly tough matchup. Can
(33:00):
catch and the Bears got rocked through the air by
Chase Brown last week, but mostly the Bear's been a
pretty good team against receiving running backs. Tracy only averages
two catches per game, which I think is absurd, So
I've got him on the bench in this one. Looking
at the Giants passing game, Wendel Robinson might take a
chance at me wide receiver, but you could also play
Darius Slayton in a pinch. This is still a Bears
(33:22):
defense missing star cornerback Jalen Johnson on the outside. Slayton
is getting a solid six targets post game post per
game post Malik Neighbors now Slayton hasn't scored yet this year,
and the Bears have allowed the second most wide receiver scored,
so maybe that streak gets snapped here. I've got a
C grade on Darius Slayton, THEO Johnson tight end, expected
(33:44):
to play through his shoulder injury, he is emerging as
an every week starter. Since Week four, THEO Johnson's got
the second most tight end touchdowns, which is shocking. The
catch is Johnson is a low volume guy. He averages
just three catches per game, so he needs those touchdown
to help you. The Bears have given up fantasy relevant
games to a tight end in every single game since
(34:05):
the opener. So THEO Johnson didn't play here with a
C grade, and that brings us to Jackson Dart. I've
got decent grades on his runners, and I expect Dart
to be pretty good through the air, but we're here
for Jackson darts rushing. He scored rushing touchdowns in four
straight games. He has top fifty rushing yards four different times.
There's our Dart and in the last four games, Tyler
(34:26):
Huntley and Jaden Daniels of topty rushing yards against Chicago.
So I've got an A grade on Dart and totally unrelated.
Speaker 2 (34:35):
Joe Dart is.
Speaker 3 (34:36):
An amazing bass player worth checking him out, no relation
to Jackson Dart as far as I know.
Speaker 2 (34:40):
Let's go to the bear side.
Speaker 3 (34:42):
The Giants have numerous possible injury problems, including both starting
cornerbacks and a safety in this game, so we're gonna
watch that up to kickoff. Along with the weather, there's
a lot of reason to pay attention Sunday morning to Chicago.
The running game is the big story here. Kyle Manungai
went Bazar last week. DeAndre Swift expected to be back,
(35:03):
but he missed practice on Friday.
Speaker 2 (35:05):
Both with the injury and personal reasons.
Speaker 3 (35:07):
I think both are going to play, and they both
have a grades.
Speaker 2 (35:13):
Get this.
Speaker 3 (35:15):
Over the past two weeks, the Giants have given up
five hundred and eighteen yards to running backs two weeks,
that's it, and five touchdowns to running backs both guys.
Especially if it's a bad weather game where we would
see increased running both Swift and Manong Guy potentially fantastic plays.
(35:37):
And if Swift doesn't go, Thenung Guy jumps into elite territory.
He'll probably be my number one ranked running back for
the week. If Swift gets ruled out of this game.
Let's go over to the receivers. Roma Dunes put up
that gooseg last week despite Chicago rolling up five hundred
and seventy six total yards, but probably a one game blip,
(35:57):
although I should note A Dunesa's sort of been slow
trending downward in his usage over the last month because
guys like Colson Loveland and a little media's A Chas
have been getting more looks.
Speaker 2 (36:07):
Still, as a, Dunes.
Speaker 3 (36:09):
Crushes man coverage with a wopping twenty six percent target
rate versus man, and the Giants use man coverage the
third most of any team, so Roma dunesay comes in
with a B grade. As for DJ Moore, last week,
he threw a touchdown, he ran one, so that gave
you a very fluky fantasy point total last game. We're
not going to chase that. As a receiver, DJ Moore
(36:31):
remains very disappointing compared to prior years. He's had three
or four catches and six straight games. You just can't
fill box scores and three or four catches, and I
don't see that changing here because of the run orientation
of this game and the fact that I still prefer
Roma DUNESA. So I've just got the C grade on
Dj Moore. Now Colston Loveland. It was a great hit
(36:55):
by Matt last week what he called a big game
from Colson Loveland. And I hate to be the wet blanket,
but with cole Kmet back and Luther Burden back, Loveland
likely goes back into a shared workload, and that's the
same workload that kept him unstartable in every game prior
to last week. In games with Met and Luther Burden healthy,
(37:16):
Loveland was averaging one and a half catches for sixteen yards.
That's your downside here, so be aware of that. Now
Loveland is an emerging rookie and there's probably more confidence
in Loveland now after he scored the game winning touchdown
last week, but in all likelihood he's going to be
on the field far less than the last two weeks.
And I've got a bench grade on Colston Loveland that
leaves us with Caleb Williams. I fear the run heavy
(37:38):
attack that I've already mentioned, especially with the weather in Chicago.
Giants are far better pass defense than they are run defense,
although again, monitor all the injuries in the Giants secondary,
Williams is a B grade in clear weather against a
banged up secondary. He is a C grade in bad
weather against a healthy secondary.
Speaker 2 (37:58):
All right, Brian, let's go over to the foul Flkins
taking on the Colts.
Speaker 3 (38:01):
I'll note this is an early morning start to get
your lineup set early for this one. Falcons Bjon Robinson
coming off of back to back dud games? Do you
like him better here against the Colts?
Speaker 1 (38:14):
I don't like him better than against Miami when he
should have went off one of those bad games. But
I just got to be on Beijon in this one.
Offensive line issues for the Falcons. The Colts will be
without DeForest Buckner. That's a big loss for them on
their defensive front, but Indie only allowing seventy rushing yards
per game. That was with Buckner, but still not a
great matchup. Posing backs are averaging seven catches per game
(38:35):
against the Colts over the last five, So be for
safety for Beijon. Drake London I wasn't given a grade
to before they acquired Sauce Gardner. I know he's just
joined the team, but maybe if he doesn't know the
defensive playbook too well, they just say, hey, follow Drake
London around all day.
Speaker 2 (38:50):
Be great, It be a good assignment.
Speaker 1 (38:52):
Yes, Sass Gardner among cornerbacks this season first in yards
average target separation, I off that my bad, but uh
second and tight windows forest first and coverage snaps per
reception allowed twenty one coverage snaps per reception allowed for
Sauce Gardner. So I gotta see on Drake London. I
am a little concerned you're still starting him. You're gonna
(39:15):
start Drake London, but temporary expectations a little bit. But
since the Colts have allowed the second most catches to
wide receivers pre Sauce Gardener, I'm still not playing Darnell Mooney.
He's on the bench. I I cannot trust him in
this game. That's yeah, that's been a disaster. But who
I can trust is Kyle Pitts coming in within a Yeah,
maybe the fantasy fonsie A. I know I'm going out
(39:38):
like this. Since Week five when the Golds played the
prop powerless Raiders tight Raiders by the way their tight
ends went off in that game. Since that Week five game,
opposing tight ends averaging eight catches ninety yards per game
against the Colts with four total touchdowns and I'll remind you,
of course, Kyle Pitts is pretty much a wide receiver,
so I'll circle back to that second most catches allowed
(40:00):
to wide receiver stats too. So love Kyle Pitts. Gotta
like Michael Pennox. That's why he's charged to take a
chance on me. Quarterback Over to the Colt side. You
still gotta like Jonathan Taylor. Kind of a dud last week,
but giving him an A this week. Over the last
three games of posting backs or averaging one hundred and
eighty seven combo yards against the Falcons with the five
(40:20):
total touchdowns A for JT. Michael Pittman gonna give him
a B. Currently a top ten fantasy receiver, you can't
sit him, and the matchup against the Falcons has softened
a little bit. Since Week five. Atlanta has allowed the
twelfth most PPR points per target to permitter wide receivers
and they've started four wide receiver touchdowns over the last
two weeks. Alec Pearce was might take a chance on
(40:40):
me wide receiver Josh Downs almost gets to see, but
giving him a bench grade. I like Pittman and Pierce
too much. Almost want to give Tyler Warren a bench
grade he gets to see. Atlanta has only allowed seventeen
catches to tight ends all season, so ten per your
expectations against Warren on Warrendaniel Jones. Lastly, I like too
(41:02):
many receivers to say bench him. Not going to bench
him for Daniel Jones Indiana Jones. Not in a DoD
game for him kind of last week too. But I
think he bounces back.
Speaker 3 (41:12):
I think he does too. I think he does too.
I like him here a lot. We've only got two minutes, Ken,
I don't think that is quite time to get in
Patriots versus Bucks.
Speaker 2 (41:20):
I think there's just too that is too meaty of
a matchup.
Speaker 3 (41:23):
So we're gonna spend a couple of minutes on a
variety of other topics, including this dynasty purposes. I got
offered a trade. I've got, I've got. I've got Tyler
Warren as as a tight end in the Dynasty League,
in tight end mandatory leagues, is Tyler Warden about the
(41:44):
best asset you can have in the league.
Speaker 2 (41:48):
It's certainly up there.
Speaker 5 (41:49):
I mean we talked about this maybe about a month ago,
as in three tough questions. He's one of the best
Dynasty access period right now. I mean the way he's
scoring and and you know he's a rookie, is he's
fucking the trends of don't trust rookie tight ends. So yeah,
I mean you're in a good spot there. That's a
decade of production and you can just go worry about
your receivers and running backs and just leave that be.
Speaker 1 (42:11):
Yeah, I'm not putting them above well, I'm gonna say
Trey McBride first. I like McBride the most, or brock Bowers,
but he's he's he's pushing pushing the limits there. Rondy
Gadson too, he might he might be in this.
Speaker 2 (42:22):
Kanston might be in there.
Speaker 3 (42:26):
Yeah, Arondy Gadson suddenly looking very very very very tantalizing
from a tight end perspective. I had thought Gadsden would
be really hit or miss, even when he was already
doing really well, just because they have so many options
among receivers there, you know, and hard to find which
game there's always one receiver that gets left out right
out of every you know, early on in the season
(42:46):
was like McConkie a few times, and then it was
then it was when Johnson being left out.
Speaker 2 (42:51):
Then Johnson showed up last week.
Speaker 3 (42:54):
And those Chargers receivers are really really painful to pin
down as to which one's gonna have the good He's
the good week and any given week.
Speaker 2 (43:01):
But Gadson's been good basically every week. One of my
best prespects this year. Well done, my man. But this
it's all Peacocks all day.
Speaker 3 (43:09):
We're not acknowledging any of our misses today on Fantasy
Football Weekly. When we come back, it's three tough questions.
Let's talk through poor Brese Hall. Guy raises his hands,
He's like, I'm ready to be traded. I need to
finish my career someplace other than New York. Where else
can I possibly go? Can you find a spot for me?
(43:29):
I'd like to play for a winner. The Chiefs reportedly
made an effort to get him, didn't change anything.
Speaker 2 (43:35):
He didn't end up getting moved.
Speaker 3 (43:37):
Let's talk through the future prospects for the rest this
year for Breese Hall.
Speaker 2 (43:42):
When we come back to Fantasy Football Weekly, our.
Speaker 3 (44:09):
Number two Fantasy Football Weekly. Paul Chargy and Brian Johnson
kent Y Rock with you.
Speaker 2 (44:15):
You can follow us on Twitter.
Speaker 3 (44:17):
Brian Johnson is at b t X Jay kent Wyrock man,
you just got to figure it how to spell it
at kent yrock k e n.
Speaker 2 (44:26):
T w E y r a U c H.
Speaker 5 (44:31):
I figure my super German name matches the German International
game this week, so it's perfect.
Speaker 2 (44:37):
Oh, I like it. I like it. That's fantastic.
Speaker 3 (44:39):
You know when they played him in Berlin last year,
and I believe it was Berlin last year, to hear
everybody's singing Sweet Caroline on a commercial break, they came
back and they showed everybody in Berlin singing Sweet Caroline.
Speaker 2 (44:52):
I was like, that's pretty, that's pretty f and cool
right there. I thought that was great.
Speaker 3 (44:58):
All right, guys, let's jump in three tough questions, beginning.
Speaker 4 (45:01):
With this tough question number one.
Speaker 3 (45:05):
Now that Breescee Hall is officially stuck in New York
for the rest of the season, will he be in
RB one, in RB two, flex or bench level players?
You got four different options, and let's begin with Kent
for this one.
Speaker 5 (45:21):
I'm going with flex when he plays because I'm just
assuming some weird narrative is going to come out where
he ends up sitting out of games down the stretch
of this year based on all the trade rumors stuff.
But with the emergence of Isaiah Davis, you know, it's
it's just been a kind of a tough situation for
Breecee Hall. He is coming off his best game of
the season, but boy, it's a pretty rough outlook overall,
and this defense is going to make things harder for
(45:43):
them to get head.
Speaker 3 (45:45):
All right, Brian with for Breescee Hall rest of season?
Will he be in RB one an RB two flex
or bench level player.
Speaker 1 (45:53):
The Jets better not be given him belcow usage as
much as I want them to from a fantasy perspective,
because they better tank properly this time. They're clearly in
rebuild moode. You think they gotta work Isaiah Davis and
more and more until it's basically fifty to fifty. So
it's flex level at best at this moment. It could
become bench though, but I'm gonna go with flex for now.
Speaker 3 (46:14):
I think you guys are looking past the possibility that
the Jets, knowing Breese Hall will not come back next year,
that they just run him into the ground, they give
him the DeMarco Murray treatment or what Josh Jacobs got
in Vegas.
Speaker 2 (46:27):
Right, there's a chance they just do that.
Speaker 5 (46:31):
The only problem there is if he gets injured doesn't
get signed, they lose the compick.
Speaker 2 (46:35):
So I don't know, but maybe.
Speaker 3 (46:36):
Well yeah, I mean if he tears an ACL or something,
But otherwise I think he would get get sure. By
the way, back to back to back brutal matchups for
Priese Hall. He's gonna go up this week against the
number one red defense Run Defense, and next week against
the number two run defense.
Speaker 2 (46:50):
Cleveland and New England.
Speaker 3 (46:52):
Then he faces a now healthy Baltimore defense and then
a very good Falcons defense. He's only got two easy
games left on the schedule. He's got my me five
weeks from now for Breeze Hall, and then New Orleans
seven weeks from now, and the rest of the matchups
are all hard. The Jets without their two best defensive stalwarts,
Sauce Gardner and Quinn Williams, means they're going to be
(47:12):
losing a lot. They may be trailing in a lot
of games. And for a guy who can catch, the
Jets just don't throw enough to Breese Hall. He's averaging
just two and a half catches per game. The correct
answer is flex level player. Rest of season for Breze.
Speaker 4 (47:26):
Hall tough question number two.
Speaker 2 (47:31):
What's the appropriate level of concern for DK Metcalf? Is
it none? Is it some?
Speaker 3 (47:36):
Or is it a bowl loosening level of existential dread?
For this one, we begin with Brian Johnson.
Speaker 1 (47:43):
Your instinct is to go with blowed after last week
two catches for six yards in a great matchup against
the Colts, which I mentioned had allowed the second most
catches to wide receivers. It was the Calvin Austin Show.
They were clearly focused on DK taking him out of
the game, which is I fear that other teams will
do moving forward. But if you look back on the season,
six of eight games he's had at least eighty yards
(48:04):
end or a touchdown. He's been essentially money. So I
was gonna go none, but just some that he's gonna
see a ton of double teams because the Steelers should
have got another wide receiver. I wish they did, so
I'm at some level of concern for DK.
Speaker 3 (48:18):
All Right, Kent, what's the appropriate level of concern for
DK Metcalf?
Speaker 2 (48:22):
Is it none? Is it some? Or is it blowed?
Speaker 5 (48:25):
I'm sitting at some as well and talking about the
double coverage. He's tenth and tight window percentage targets despite
having a shorter average depth of targets. So he's doing
the best that he can with the situation. But he
actually leads the league in yards after the catch per
attempt right now, so he's doing pretty good job, or
maybe that's over expectation per attempt. And he does have
(48:46):
some pretty good fantasy playoff matchups as well. Miami, Detroit,
and Cleveland are all bottom half in wide receiver points allowed.
Speaker 3 (48:54):
His lack of consistent production is absolutely baffling because in
years past, Rodgers would lock into his favorite goat receiver
and it should absolutely be DK Metcalf, not Calvin Austin,
not anybody else. But if you give me a chance
to blame Arthur Smith for anything, I will do it.
And we're gonna blame Arthur Smith for sending a dozen
targets to his tight ends every game at the expense
(49:15):
of Dk Metcalf, who's getting just four catches per game.
And that means when Dk does not score touchdowns, he
hurts you. And when he doesn't score, he's averaging three
catches for forty six yards, and that's how you get
chopped in the guillotine league. That's how you lose a
playoff game. I think the appropriate level for DK metcalf
is some.
Speaker 4 (49:35):
Tough question Number three, how.
Speaker 3 (49:38):
Much does Arizona's move to Jacoby Prisett positively affect Marvin Harrison?
Speaker 2 (49:44):
Not at all? Some or a lot. We're back to
Kent for this one.
Speaker 5 (49:50):
Against my better judgment of putting all my eggs in
the Jacoby Prissette basket. I'm saying a lot because frankly,
he's scrambling at a lower rate. Kyler was eight point
seven percent scramble. Ray per Sett just a four point five,
So he's looking downfield instead of scrambling. He's got a
farther average step of target nine point two to Kyler's
six point four.
Speaker 2 (50:08):
You know, Marvin Harrison Junior had.
Speaker 5 (50:09):
The most receptions in his career last week, and he's
had ninety six air yards in each game or more
with Brissette.
Speaker 2 (50:16):
Isn't in a good spot. Okay, So you're saying a lot,
a lot. I'm going with it a lot.
Speaker 3 (50:22):
Brian Johnson, how much does Arizona's move to Jacoby Brissett
positively affect Marvin Harrison?
Speaker 2 (50:28):
Not at all? Some or a lot?
Speaker 1 (50:31):
Well, I would say the difference between five foot nine
and six foot four is a lot. Jacoby Present can
actually see over the line of scrimmage. So it's gonna
affect Harrison a lot. And you know, Harrison still is
coming into his own as well. But I'm gonna say
a lot. I mean, the offense is clicking. It's really
McBride should have been this question. We'll talk about the
(50:53):
effect that Prissette has had on McBride later later in
the show.
Speaker 3 (50:58):
McBride has gone from as under I will all right,
I will mow your one.
Speaker 2 (51:04):
Let me ask both of you this quickly.
Speaker 3 (51:06):
Do you believe Kyler Murray's foot injury is requisite of
a trip to injured Reserve?
Speaker 2 (51:13):
It could? Yeah, I think so.
Speaker 1 (51:16):
Well, do we call of duty comes out like tomorrow?
Speaker 4 (51:20):
That?
Speaker 2 (51:20):
There you go, that lines up perfectly.
Speaker 3 (51:22):
Yeah, that's that has been The people have connected those
dots for sure.
Speaker 2 (51:26):
It doesn't seem like it to me. It doesn't seem it.
Speaker 3 (51:28):
Didn't, you know, for a guy who almost played three
weeks ago and then you throw them an ir Now,
that's something's fishy about that. Here's where Marvin Harrison gets
really affected in a positive way, notoriously a hit or
miss player. It's horrible game, horrible game, great game, horrible, horrible, great, horrible.
Speaker 2 (51:45):
Great, great, horrible. You just you know, really tough to tell.
Speaker 3 (51:49):
Jacoby Brissette brings basic passing competency that should erase those
epic dud games that Harrison's been dropping on fantasy managers
all the time. Under Kyler Murray, I think the floor
moves way way up for Marvin Harrison, and so we
will go with a lot of positive effect for Marvin
Harrison with this move. Love it, love it. Okay, let's
(52:12):
dive back into our matchups coming up next. I had
mentioned we wanted to get in Patriots taking on the Buccaneers.
Kat Ramandri Stevenson's ruled out of this game. Travon Henderson
should be the starter here, but still a split backfield.
Speaker 2 (52:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (52:27):
I think we're gonna get another good look at Travon
Henderson here because he looked I think decent last week.
His totals weren't amazing, but he rushed fourteen times for
fifty five yards, cut four to six targets for thirty
two yards, and that's good for running back sixteen on
the week. A touchdown would have definitely made you happy.
Jennings did get the one goal line carry and one
touchdown in the week, but Henderson dominated the backfield in snaps,
(52:47):
routes and targets, yards after contact per attempt, and two
minute drill usage. So I still think it's a Henderson show.
As lackluster as that show may be, only one running
back has had more than a six rushing yards again
this Tampa Bay defense, though, so you do have to
temper some expectations. Terrell Bennings Jennings, excuse me, is a
bench like you said, I just don't think he's gonna
(53:08):
get enough work. He got eleven carries and the touchdown
last week, but he only played seventeen snaps, so I
just don't know if they're gonna be willing to get
him on the field enough to have a sizeable workload
in His three point two yards per carry was kind
of tough too. Both running backs in this backfield had
negative rushing yards over expectation, not to mention Drake may
td vulture himself, So if you don't get that touchdown,
could be could be tough slid as well.
Speaker 2 (53:30):
Speaking of Drake.
Speaker 5 (53:30):
May yeah, I'll give I'll give may a b great
he's on vegeable right now. He just doesn't really have
the upside with Booty and Stevenson out of this game.
He's got six top twelve weekly finishes tied for second,
so he's at a good spot. Stefan Diggs gets a
B grade. He ran the most routes with Booty out
last week. He leads a team with a twenty percent
target chair and six red zone targets over the last month,
(53:53):
so he's been playing really well even if the box
spores haven't backed him up there, and he moves around
the formation, so he should be able to avoid the
top Bucks cornerback Jamal Dean enough to prosper in this game.
Tomorrio Douglass was might take a chance on me receiver.
I'll give him a C grade here. Kyle Williams a
bench I talked about him a little bit, and take
a chance on me as well. And then Hunter Henry,
(54:14):
I'm benching him. He's tight in nine of the year,
but he's only had two top twelve finishes. You can
find better options there. Looking over at the Buccaneers side
of things, Baker Mayfield, I will be giving a bee
coming off the by and we could throw that. Saints
game he had out, Baker just wasn't needed there. The
four games prior to that, he was averaging two hundred
and eighty eight passing yards per game, one point eight
touchdowns in half an interception. The Pats defense is actually
(54:36):
kind of a pass funnel, so they've allowed the seventh
most passing yards this game, and then they're twenty ninth
in explosive passing plays allowed. In the last month. The
schedule has been baby soft for them. They've only played
against one Top twelve fantasy quarterback and that was Josh Allen.
The rest have been nobody. So I think Baker could
step up into this game. He's gonna be throwing to
(54:57):
him mechag Buka, who gets a B grade. He's got
twenty one targets in his last two games, but only
seven receptions. He's kind of feeling a little bit of
the heat of being the top receiver with not a
lot of outside help, and he hasn't scored a touchdown
since Week five on just three red zone targets, so
it's a little bit iffy, but he still gets a
B grade on volume.
Speaker 2 (55:13):
He could be shadowed by Christian.
Speaker 5 (55:14):
Gonzalez, who's been very, very good this year, so can't
get him up to an A. Tess Johnson on the
other end, gets a C grade. He's a seventy percent
snap player right now. He ran the same amount of
routes as like Buka in the last two weeks and
he's only had seven or excusely six fewer targets that
then ag Buca in that stretch. He's got four straight
games with forty plus forty three plus receiving yards and
(55:36):
he could take advantage of that explosive pass funnel. Both
of his touchdowns this year have been twenty plus yarders,
so maybe that's a good opportunity for him to score.
Kate Totten, I'll give a C grade. He's startable in
a pinch if you got a tight end on buy
or something. He's got four straight games of five plus targets,
four plus receptions, forty plus yards. He just doesn't score much,
so it's really just a filler at best. And then
(55:56):
looking at the run game Rashad White, he gets a
C grade. He's got team plus opportunities each of his
last four games. It's been very mediocre output and this
New England defense is absolutely decimating opposing running backs on
the ground zero running backs have had a positive zero.
Starting running backs, they should say have had a positive
rushing yards over expectation against the Patriots this here, but
(56:18):
they have allowed the most running back receptions and the
fourth most running back yards. Playing into that pass fun
a little bit more so, he's a flex play on
the receptions with a C grade.
Speaker 3 (56:28):
Yeah, it's been disappointing for Rashad White. And you'll note
that Sean Tucker got a bunch of carries last week.
Those didn't amount anything either, but the fact that they
went away from White and went to Tucker to try
to get something going is a worry. Yeah, it's really
just the receptions that I'm looking at. It is we're
here for and only in PPR. I think I would
go bench grade in standard more standard, fair enough for
(56:49):
shod White. Detroit takes on Washington. The Lions offensive line
is worth watching here. They got injuries to Taylor Decker,
Penes Sewell and backup Dan Skipper. Watched that, and then
their starting guard Christian Hoginy whin an I are this week.
It's say wreck up front and that could give you
more downside than usual with this Detroit offense. Gibbs and
Saint Brown remain obvious. A's even after gibbs dud last week,
(57:11):
which surprised us, but still it's it's Gibbs and I'm
on Ross Saint Brown. And unless these these injuries are
really severe and multiple players are missing, then I think
you can go ahead and safely keep those at A grades.
David Montgomery was might take a chance at me runner,
Let's tuck Sam Laporta. The Commander's defense is getting wrecked
by everybody, including tight ends. The past three games, they've
(57:33):
given up four tight end touchdowns. And even if Decker
and Sewell, who've been banged up on and off like
the last several games, they don't ask Laporta to cut
to block. They even even when they need blocking they
go to brock Right, they don't go to Laporta. So
he's still going out into routes. You can expect him
to run plenty of routes and a B grade for
Laporta in a positive matchup. Last week, I also had Lions.
(57:55):
We called the Jamison Williams Big game, and I like
him again. Here Commander's allowing the fifth highest completion rate
on deep passes forty eight percent completion rate on passes
of twenty or more air yards. They've given up the
sixth most deep passes and the third most total yards
on deep passes. This is all about Jamison Williams, who
comes in with a C grade for this one, and
(58:17):
that leaves us with Jared Goff on the Lion's side.
He has thrown touchdowns in every game, multiple touchdowns in
four of the last five, and the last three quarterbacks
to face Washington have thrown three, three and four touchdowns.
I worry again about the offensive line, so let's continue
to track that.
Speaker 2 (58:32):
But regardless, this feels like a great play.
Speaker 3 (58:36):
Everybody's crushing the Commander's secondary and likely Golf will two
a grade for him, assuming Taylor Decker and Panasu will
end up playing Commander's side. Let's start with Deebo Samuel.
Last three games, he is averaging twenty two scoreless yards
per game. That's it for Deebo Samuel, and they don't
(58:57):
throw to him downfield, which is just killing Deebo Samuel's productivity.
The last three weeks, he has had an average distance
of target five yards, three yards and one yard.
Speaker 2 (59:17):
That is it.
Speaker 3 (59:18):
It is impossible to fill a box score on bubble screens.
Speaker 2 (59:22):
And that's all Deebo. Samuel gives you.
Speaker 3 (59:24):
The Lions secondaries all beat up, but they do likely
get Kirby Joseph back. That could be huge against Samuel
because Kirby Joseph will play the slot where Samuel lines
up a lot.
Speaker 2 (59:34):
We've got a bench grade on Samuel.
Speaker 3 (59:36):
Zach Ertz has not seen the spike and usage that
you'd expect from a team missing two of its three
starting wide receivers. I thought Art should be more copiously used,
but since mclaurin's injury, ERT's only averaging three catches per game.
He's gonna be facing Pro Football Focuss top rank coverage
linebacker group. I don't love that, but working in his favor,
the Lions have allowed three straight big games to tight
(59:56):
end C grade.
Speaker 2 (59:57):
On zach Ertz.
Speaker 3 (59:58):
Marcus Mariota, we've seen him now in three different starts.
He has been a decent fantasy producer. He's currently Pro
Football Focus's fifth ranked quarterback for passing, which is not
all bad. He has scored in all three starts. He's
chipped in thirty one rushing yards per game. Those things
aren't terrible if you're in a two quarterback league.
Speaker 2 (01:00:15):
I could start.
Speaker 3 (01:00:16):
I could see starting Marcus Mariota just on the hope
that he runs you a little something. No quarterbacks top
thirty five rushing yards against Detroit, but he could cobble
together a C grade between his arms and his legs
here and that.
Speaker 2 (01:00:27):
Leaves us here.
Speaker 3 (01:00:29):
Jacory Krossky merit a massive implosion over the last month,
and I think it's going to continue over the last
month of games. Bill is averaging thirty nine scoreless rushing
yards and he does not catch. Detroit has been a
great run defense. No runner has scored against Detroit since
Week four, and over those five weeks, the Lions are
allowing the second fewest Fantasy points to runners.
Speaker 2 (01:00:52):
Bench grade for Bill.
Speaker 3 (01:00:53):
Jacorey Krossky merrit and what and the game script probably
likely also working against him here as the Lions likely
out to a big lead and the running game gets
abandoned for early yuck. It's all bad right now for
Jacorey Krofsky, merit, but it's good for you because when
we come back, we're gonna break down Cardinals taking on
the Seahawks. We were just talking glowingly about Jacoby Brissett,
(01:01:16):
this new look offense. Let's find out which other Cardinals
are starters as they take on a very good Seattle
Seahawks secondary.
Speaker 2 (01:01:23):
When we return to Fantasy Football Weekly, Welcome.
Speaker 3 (01:01:48):
Back Fantasy Football Weekly, Paul Churchy and Brian Johnson can't
why rock with you. Plenty to get to in this
big block of matchups beginning with the Cardinals taking on
the Seahawks. Brian, when I was doing my radio hits
this week, somebody asked me spontaneously to pick my Super
Bowl winner. I said, the Seattle Seahawks. I feel like
this is the most complete roster in the NFL. I
(01:02:09):
don't see a team with an obvious weakness in the Seahawks.
And this is a tricky matchup for the Arizona Cardinals.
Speaker 1 (01:02:15):
You know I'm in full agreement. Led by MVP candidate.
We'll get to him in a minute. Anyway, We're going
to start with the Cardinals here A Mario Dimocardo was
my take a chance on me running back. A tough matchup,
but should see good volume here. Over to the passing
game for Arizona Trey McBride and a for me always
McBride twenty nine catches away from the most catches from
a tight end in their first four years in NFL history,
(01:02:36):
in their first four years in NFL history, that's insane.
Had seven These teams did meet in Week four. I
should have mentioned previously Seattle did win. McBride had seven
catches fifty two yards in that first meeting, saw eleven targets,
did not score, but that was because Kyler Murray was
the quarterback in that game. Since Jacoby Brissett has taken over,
McBride has caught four touchdowns in those three games. He's
(01:02:59):
caught five touchdowns from Kyler Murray across the three seasons
in the NFL, So huge upgrade for McBride with Brissett.
I mentioned that in the last segment. Over to Marvin Harrison,
who we were talking about in the last segment, is
an upgrade with McBride. He had six catches for sixty
six yards and a touchdown in the first meeting with
Kyler Murray. It is a tough matchup though Seattle has
(01:03:21):
only allowed one one hundred yard receiver all season and
they haven't surrendered a score to the wide receiver position
in two straight games. Their secondary was also very banged
up earlier in the season. Seattle's was healthy Now I'm
not benching Harrison, of course, but I'm only coming in
with a C grade for him here. I think he
draws a lot of attention.
Speaker 4 (01:03:42):
For that.
Speaker 1 (01:03:43):
I'm still gonna bench Michael Wilson and z Jones, even
though I think Harrison sees some double coverage. They're on
the bench and Jacoby Brissett, Man, I know we're steaming him.
I'm borderline benching him, bunk. I'm gonna give him the
C grade matchup. It is a tough matchup. Trevor Lawrence
had two fifty eight and two against Seattle in Week six. Again,
the secondary was more banged up then.
Speaker 3 (01:04:05):
I know.
Speaker 1 (01:04:06):
Brissett's got the hot hand, but he's not playing the
Cowboys like he was last week. I got him on
the bench. I'm sorry, but I like it moving forwardy
very very hard to do it. But on the bench,
Jacoby Prissett is for me. I'd rather play Davis Mills
Kent take on quarterback. Let's over to the Seattle side.
Kenneth Walker finally got red zone workover Zach Sharboney. Last
(01:04:26):
speech had led running the backfield with the fifty snap share,
he had even one hundred and ten combo yards on
twenty touches in the first meeting. Kenneth Walker. Did the
Cardinals stifle Javonte Williams last week, but Arizona has allowed
at least one running back touchdown in every other game
this season this season, so a B for Kenneth Walker
(01:04:48):
and a SEE for Zach Sharboney. He had a thirty
nine yards and a touchdown in the first meeting. He
could folter a touchdown here. I think both running backs
see some good work in this game. Over to the
pass game, I should mention Arizona down two corners, two
starting cornerbacks. So Jackson Smith easy A had his worst
game of the season. Four catches, seventy nine yards. Yes,
(01:05:12):
by far his worst game targets. Hopefully he sees more
in this game, but he might not. But it's still
an A for JSN. You might not. With Rashid Shaheed
in town, he is the wide receiver to play. Tory
Horton pretty much ruled out Cooper Cup pretty much ruled
out Shaheed's gonna step right in. But since Week five,
Arizona has allowed the fewest PPR points per target and
(01:05:34):
the seventh fewest receiving yards per game to perimeter wide receivers,
so ten per your expectations in Shaheed's debut, But I
haven't gonna give him a C. I'm benching both Aj
Barner and Elijah Arroyo unless AJ Barner happens to sit
this week. He is nursing a calf injury. If he
is out, I will start a Rye Arroyo with a B.
But if they're both active, they are both on the bench.
(01:05:55):
And lastly, Sam Darnold, give him in a greight here
of course, of course you gave him an eight guy.
In NFL history, four quarterbacks have done the following over
their team's first eight games of the season, completed seventy
percent of passes thrown for two thousand plus yards, throwing
for fifteen plus touchdowns, taking fewer than ten sacks. Those
(01:06:18):
four quarterbacks, Tom Brady and O seven, Peyton Manning and
nine Drew Brees in twenty eighteen, and Sam Darnold in
twenty twenty five, maybe on his way to the MVP
award and drinks on me, boys when he wins it.
I'll tell you that much.
Speaker 2 (01:06:37):
There will be drinks on you.
Speaker 3 (01:06:38):
I've seen you've posted your MVP tickets several times on Twitter.
None will be cash Lly, I never right Ryder down.
You will ride or die, absolutely true. Can Let's go
over to the Steelers taking on the Chargers.
Speaker 2 (01:06:52):
We just talked about DK Metcalf.
Speaker 3 (01:06:53):
Let's start with the passing game here and Aaron Rodgers
Charger secondary has been pretty good.
Speaker 2 (01:06:58):
I think this one's a bit thorn.
Speaker 5 (01:07:00):
Yeah, it's gonna be okay for him down the stretch,
but not this week. DK Metcalf is going to get
a C grade here. Talked about him a bit in
three tough questions, so I won't go too much. But
the Chargers have only allowed four touchdowns to opposing wide
receivers this year, tied for second in the league, so
I don't like him very much this week. Aaron Rodgers,
the guy throwing the ball, I'm gonna bench him as well.
Only three quarterbacks have had a positive EPA per dropback
(01:07:22):
against the Chargers this year, and that was Jane Daniels,
Daniel Jones, who's good now, and then Pat Mahomes.
Speaker 2 (01:07:27):
So it's really not a good spot for him.
Speaker 5 (01:07:30):
And when Aaron Rodgers isn't playing against New York Jets
or the Cincinnati Bengals, he's averaging one hundred and ninety
nine point eight passing yards and no, I will not
round that up.
Speaker 2 (01:07:38):
So I'm gonna bench him this week.
Speaker 5 (01:07:41):
You know, Kelvin Austin, keep him money radar to bench
him not not worth playing in any formats right now.
Speaker 2 (01:07:46):
Jalen Warren gets a B grade.
Speaker 5 (01:07:48):
He's got eleven plus rush attempts and two plus receptions
in every single game this year. He is coming off
his lowest total, but he'd had two touchdowns and he's
had the ninth most red zone rushing attempts in the
last month, so he may in a decent spot to
get a touchdown, but not much else. The Chargers are
bottom ten in mistackle rate and yards after contact allowed,
so Warre could have a decent outing, but it's not
(01:08:10):
going to be an electric one. And then bench all
tight ends you were talking about Arthur Smith, do not
touch any of them. It's a carousel. You don't want
to deal with it over on the Chargers side of things,
you know, justin Herbert, I'm giving him a B grade.
He's coming off a really awesome last month. He's averaging
two hundred and ninety yards two and a half touchdowns
a game. But the Joe Alt loss really hurts. A
(01:08:31):
little stat from friend Rich Reebar. He has widely different
stats in yards per pass attempt, air yards per attempt,
touchdown rate, interception rate, and fantasy points per drop back
when Joe Alt is off the field, So it's a
big down grade for the whole offense.
Speaker 2 (01:08:47):
You know, he's throwing a ball.
Speaker 4 (01:08:48):
To a.
Speaker 2 (01:08:51):
Limb of receivers. We got Lad mccacky with a B grade.
Speaker 5 (01:08:54):
Only Jamar Chase has more targets than mcconkee in the
last month and he's wide receiver eleven in Fantasy points
per game during that stretch. The Steelers have allowed the
most explosive passing plays in the last month as well,
so you know, maybe he gets a couple deep shots,
but it's going to be a shorter attack range with
that Joe Alt injury. So that's going to lead to
McConkey and Keenan Allen, who gets a C grade. He's
(01:09:16):
basically eighty percent of what mccaukey is. He still is
has the most top twelve wide receiver weekly finishes on
the team with three, so you still got to keep
him in mind for some flex positions. Quentin Johnson, I'll
give a c as well, and it's mostly because of
those explosive passing plays. He did recover after his goosegg
and weedt a where he cut four to six targets
for fifty three in a score. But yeah, you really
(01:09:38):
got to hope for a long deep threat touchdown on
this one to get your value out of them. This week,
Aronde Gatson, I'll give him a bee. In last month,
he's tight end two and fantasy points per game. He's
had twenty seven targets, which is third among all tight ends,
and seven of which were red zone targets. And he
leads all tight ends with three hundred and seventy seven
receiving yards, eighty yards more than second place Travis Kelsey.
Speaker 2 (01:09:59):
He's doing great. Be great for him. I was gonna
say sorry, Comani Videll. Yeah I did forget him. Yes,
I'll talk about the past game too much. Last week
against it.
Speaker 5 (01:10:07):
Last week against the Titans, he rushed twelve times for
just thirty yards and miss his only targets.
Speaker 2 (01:10:11):
So it's kind of a tough outing. No wonder I
forgot about him.
Speaker 5 (01:10:14):
The Steelers have allowed the seventh least fantasy points to
running backs. They held Jonathan Taylor to forty five yards
Josh Jacobs to thirty three yards. Last two weeks, the
Chargers O line issues only exacerbate things. I give him
a C just on volume, but you don't feel good
about it.
Speaker 2 (01:10:27):
And that is it for the Chargers right there. Holy cow.
We will take a break.
Speaker 3 (01:10:32):
When we come back, we have another block of matchups
for you, and we will also have the FFW time Machine.
Very very exciting. I know, I know, I'm very excited
about the FFW Time Machine. We'll give you premature speculation
guys that you can pick up now that other people
will be trying to pick up, but they're already on
your team.
Speaker 1 (01:10:50):
Yah.
Speaker 3 (01:10:50):
Yeah, premature speculation when we come back to Fantasy Football
Weekly nyal segment of Fantasy Football Weekly for this week,
but we'll be back next week, which is great news
(01:11:12):
and also great news. We love to give you every
week somebody you should pick up now that everybody else
is going to be trying to pick up after this.
Speaker 2 (01:11:20):
Week, but they're already on your roster.
Speaker 3 (01:11:23):
It's the Fantasy Football Weekly time Machine. We call this premature.
Speaker 1 (01:11:33):
Time machine.
Speaker 3 (01:11:34):
Does sound a lot like Defender just saying maybe a
little joust mixed in there. Perhaps we begin with Kent Wyrock,
who is your premature speculation player.
Speaker 5 (01:11:45):
Yeah, at this point of the season, a lot of
the sleepers are kind of dried up and gone. But
I'm gonna go with the sneaky one, Jalen Wright.
Speaker 2 (01:11:50):
And the reason is.
Speaker 3 (01:11:52):
Because Miami running back Jalen Wright. Okay, that's right.
Speaker 5 (01:11:56):
Because last week Ollie Gordon got a little injured, gotten
in a spat with his coach on the sideline. And
as much as we like to believe we get past narratives,
narratives like that do matter. He could be potentially seen
some reprimand for that, Jalen Wright came into the game.
It did all right. He had nine rushes for twenty
nine yards and caught his sole target, so you know,
(01:12:16):
he at least showed up and put in his work.
Olli Gordon, frankly, has been somewhat disappointing relative to what
we were hoping for early in the season. He has
just one touchdown, which is what we thought his forte
would be, and that's partially offensive and two of problems.
But he's been almost a yard under expectation and he's
just got three point one yards per carry this year,
so I really don't think he's been all that great,
(01:12:37):
and they could be looking for a swap.
Speaker 3 (01:12:40):
All right, jleb right way off my radar, that's for sure.
All right, we'll track that one. I think if Ali
Gordon's healthy, it's still his job. But we'll find out
how that plays itself out. Brian, your premature speculation player.
Speaker 1 (01:12:53):
I got the rams Blake Corum only ten percent owned
in Yahoo League's averaging four point six six' five yards per.
Carry that's fifteenth among forty four qualified running. Backs he's
sixteenth in explosive run, rate ninth and miss, tackles, fourth
forced per attempt an eighth and success. Rate And korum
(01:13:13):
is almost essentially splitting work With Kien williams right. Now
it's kind of get like a sixty to forty split right.
NOW a, MUSTACHE i think it. All if you Roster
williams or, not go Get. Korum it's a mustache For, november.
Speaker 2 (01:13:29):
That's what you're.
Speaker 1 (01:13:30):
Saying And i'm growing an awful one right now in
honor of.
Speaker 2 (01:13:34):
It every year you don't learn Good evans got to
under the like the.
Speaker 3 (01:13:39):
MOVIE i hope it doesn't come to, this but If
god Forbid christina ever leaves, you it's going to be A.
NOVEMBER i can assure you there is not a one
in twelve chance it'll Be. November there is like a
ten and twelve chance it'll Be.
Speaker 1 (01:13:51):
November i'd like to.
Speaker 2 (01:13:53):
Place a bet on.
Speaker 1 (01:13:54):
THAT i like.
Speaker 3 (01:13:54):
That my premature speculation player Is cleveland wide Receiver Ederck.
Tillman Jerry judy's an unmitigated. Disaster he has got the
seventh Worst Pro Football focus great among all. Receivers he
is tied for the most drops in the. League Jerry
judy has seven. Drops right, Now Kevin stefanski is battling
(01:14:16):
for his. Job he has to start producing a downfield passing.
Attack stefanski needs, wins both w's in the win, column
but also w's on the.
Speaker 2 (01:14:28):
Field Cedric tillman can be.
Speaker 3 (01:14:30):
That and these tight ends are all, great AND i
appreciate what he's done With Harold, Fannin david And. Joku that's.
Great The browns need wide receiver, production especially. Downfield this
Is Cedric. Tillman, Now he's just coming off ir this.
Week he's been activated For sunday's. Game he is a
big bodied receiver At this team Needs Cedric tillman six foot,
(01:14:51):
three two hundred and fifteen. Pounds last, year you may,
Recall Cedric tillman looked really. Promising they traded Away Mary,
cooper which feels like a million years. Ago Mary cooper
was in the league last. Year they traded him, away
and Then Cedric tillman gets on the field and he
is a Totally he is a difference. Maker he averaged
sixty six yards and half a touchdown per. Game tilman
(01:15:13):
looked great last. Year then this year he started the.
Season you may recall we were grading him the. Week
he was one of my favorite preseason. Sleepers we started
this year With Cedric. Tilmany he got a touchdown in week,
one touchdown in week, two didn't do much a week,
three and then he probably got. Hurt and now he's coming.
Back Cedric, tillman go pick him. Up let's see what
happens down the stretch in This brown. Offense DO i
(01:15:35):
Love Dylan?
Speaker 2 (01:15:35):
Gabriel?
Speaker 3 (01:15:36):
No DO i Think Dale Dylan gabris got a big downfield. Arm,
no but they got something. Going Cedric tillman's a swide
receiver on roster for The Cleveland. Browns go pick him up.
Speaker 2 (01:15:45):
Now that he is.
Speaker 3 (01:15:46):
Active, okay let's go TO uh. Two we have two
final matchups. Left the first one Is eagles as they
go To Green. Bay let's begin With Saquon barkley coming
off the best game of his, season a two touchdown
game before last week's by and the Green bay run
defense got punctured By Rico dowdell last, week but that
(01:16:08):
was the total aberration on both. Sides in the prior five,
Games barkley had only averaged forty four rushing yards and
twenty receiving. Yards we were talking About barkley's disappointed season
all the, time and then prior to getting massacred By
dowbell last, week The packers were only giving up fifty
four rushing yards per game and a quarter of a
touchdown to lead. Backs Green bay hasn't allowed to receiving
(01:16:30):
touchdown to a runner all, year and through the, air
no opposing runners top thirty one. Yards point being don't
get too swayed by The Rico dowdell aberration last. Week
most likely The packers' run defense comes back and plays.
Speaker 2 (01:16:45):
Great b grade On Saquon. Barkley let's go.
Speaker 3 (01:16:48):
Over to The eagles passing. Game Dallas. Goddard get, this,
Guys Dallas goddard leads all tight ends and. TOUCHDOWNS i
know it's LIKE i don't THINK i would have guessed
that it's that is the. Case seven touchdowns For Dallas
goddard and good tight ends have their way with The.
Packers let's focus On trey, McBride Sam laporta And Jake
Ferguson against The. Packers they averaged eight, catches sixty four
(01:17:13):
yards and a full touchdown per. Game those are gigant
tight in, numbers and If Alice goddard gets anywhere near,
that he is sitting out a big. Game i've got
A b grade On Dallas. Goddard let's go to Aj.
Brown good passing attacks generally work against The. Packers if
you throw out The, Cardinals carolina And, cleveland which do
not have good passing, attacks opposing receivers are very safe.
(01:17:36):
Plays another big, bodied physical, Receiver George, pickens absolutely dominated The.
Packers he put up on hundred thirty four yards and
two scores against The. Packers The packers play very little man,
coverage and that Is. Brown Where brown is best is man,
Coverage SO i would prefer to have the man matchups
that probably aren't coming. HERE i would otherwise give him an,
eight but because of the zone, Coverage i'm gonna GO
(01:17:59):
b grade on Aj. Brown Davante smith's situation is the
exact opposite of. That smith is better in zone coverage
and that's what The packers. Play this is his zone heavy.
Matchup the bad news is That smith runs from the
slot a lot this. Year The packers have been excellent
from the. Slot they're giving him the fourth Fewest fantasy
points to slot, receivers and will credit cornerback hybrid Safety Javon,
(01:18:20):
bullard who hasn't given up a touchdown this. Year he
is the guy who mans the. Slot So i've given
you a lot of mixed input here On, Smith Davante.
Smith and then There's Jalen. Hurts i've got THREE b
grades for his, receivers and when you have that in
with the touch, push he Is Jalen hurd's an EASY a.
Grade he has scored multiple touchdowns in six straight, games
(01:18:41):
one way or. Another all, right let's go over to
The Green bay, side beginning With Josh. Jacobs he has
scored in five straight games and another Touchdown like, here
The eagles run defense a lot worse than last year's dominating.
Version here are some shocking ranks of futility for The
philadelphia run. Defense they are twenty ninth in yards before,
(01:19:03):
contact they are twenty third in yards per, carry they
are twenty fifth in run DEFENSE, epa and they are
dead last in third down conversion. Rate, YEEZ i, mean
what are we talking about with The eagles? Here powerbacks
in particular have had a lot of success against The
eagles in recent. Games Jordan mason And cam scattabout twice
(01:19:25):
combined for five. Touchdowns powerbacks getting it done Like Josh.
JACOBS i think we're gonna see a delert effort By
Matt lafleur to Keep jacobs. Fresh and we are seeing
that he's worked in a lot Of Emmanuel wilson and
he could be even a pinch starter, here but he's
got a bench. Grade but this matchup very, positive so
much so That jacobs gets AN a, grade even With
(01:19:46):
wilson getting some work as an elite handcuffed.
Speaker 2 (01:19:48):
Option all, right let's go To Luke.
Speaker 3 (01:19:51):
Musgrave you, know Sadly Tucker craft's season is, over BUT
i for, one do not see a big drop off.
Speaker 2 (01:19:56):
Coming Musk.
Speaker 3 (01:19:58):
GRAVE i think he's gonna give you eighty eighty five
percent of What Tucker graft was giving. You Remember musgrave
drafted Before Tucker. Craft last, Week Tucker craft goes out
in the third, Quarter Luke musgrave posts season highs in
everything despite only starting for that fourth. Quarter they went
right to him and had him just Run Tucker craft's
(01:20:18):
routes and play his. Role working Against musgrave, though this
week is a very tough matchup against a great tight end.
Defense The eagles allowed the third fewest fantasy points of tight,
ends including just one tight end touchdown all. Year no
tight end is top forty three yards Since week two
against The. Eagles so even THOUGH i really Like musgrave
going forward this, matchup just to see grade For Luke.
(01:20:41):
Musgrave all, right now let's go to all the wide
receivers for The. Packers, now we're still tracking the health
status Of Matthew golden And Dontavian. Wicks if they are
going to, play THEN i think you got to avoid
all The packers. Wideouts, yes somebody will probably have a good,
game but g luck guessing. Who it's incredibly difficult because
(01:21:04):
they use so many receivers and in so many replaceable.
Ways there is only one exploitable matchup on the field
against The, eagles and that's against cornerback Of Dori, jackson
who plays the offense is left side of the, field
but The packers rotate wideouts all around the, field so
you can't isolate somebody on A Dori. Jackson and you do,
(01:21:24):
want do not want to try to play receivers up
against the other two starting Cornerbacks Quinnyon mitchell And cooper
dejen because they're. Awesome Romeo dobbs is your safest. Play
If Christian watson is like Your Hail mary, play, maybe but,
again If Matthew golden and Dun Tavian wick are playing in,
here this is too messy for anybody to earn a letter,
grade all.
Speaker 2 (01:21:45):
Right and that leaves me With Jordan.
Speaker 3 (01:21:47):
Love he has thrown zero or one touchdown in four
of the last five, games and The eagles have allowed
zero or one passing touchdown in four straight. Games SO
i hate to say, it but we might be looking
at a zero one touchdown output From Jordan Love Will
this should be a, well we'd love hate to say.
That we want good things for fantasy players, Everywhere, yes
(01:22:09):
and this should be.
Speaker 2 (01:22:10):
A run heavy game plan.
Speaker 3 (01:22:11):
Coming because The eagles are so much more vulnerable on
the ground than they are through the.
Speaker 2 (01:22:15):
Air it's just gonna be a lot Of Josh.
Speaker 3 (01:22:17):
Jacobs i'd hope we'd see more rushing From Jordan, love
but that has not really materialized at.
Speaker 1 (01:22:22):
All.
Speaker 3 (01:22:22):
Guys you, know last year we had the excuse of
the groin injury and that's why he didn't run at.
All but we're still waiting For Jordan love's first rushing
touchdown on the year and is averaging just thirteen rushing
yards per. Game that's. It that Is Joe flacco like
rushing right there From Jordan.
Speaker 2 (01:22:38):
Love just A c.
Speaker 3 (01:22:40):
Grade our final matchup of the, Week, brian is The
rams taking on the forty Nine. Ers you already told
us that we talked About Blake korum extensively in premature.
Speculation so what's the letter grade on him here against
the forty nine.
Speaker 1 (01:22:55):
ERS i Got korum on the. BENCH i got to
mention these teams meet In week. Five The rams won
twenty six to twenty three in that. One the forty
Nine ers have only allowed one total running back touchdown
over their last three. Games they Held Bijon robinson to
ninety two combo. Yards The giants backs did nothing Against
San francisco last, week But Woody marks And Nick chubb
(01:23:16):
did combine for a solid day against the forty nine ers.
Recently SO i got a SOLID c On Kyron williams
would only see Because Blake koram is eating into that.
Workload So koram on the bench, here but borderline sees for.
Both But i'm just gonna get THE c To williams
in this. ONE I am not going to give A
ce To Puka. Nikua he gets AN a, obviously ten
(01:23:38):
catches eighty five, yards a touchdown in the first. Meeting
he has at least ninety seven yards or a touchdown
in four career games Against San. Francisco he should build
on those numbers in this. ONE a For puca almost
AN a For Devonte. Adams he had five catches eighty eight,
yards did not score in the first, meeting did see eleven.
Targets very SOLID b though For Devant day here you're
(01:24:01):
Starting Davonte. Adams don't need to go too much further
into that. One you are not going to start any
of the tight ends for The, rams, though there's too
many to, name and only one tight end has topped
sixty yards against the forty nine ers this. Season only
one other tight end has topped fifty, yards and neither
(01:24:21):
of those tight ends Were trey, McBride so you know
it's a tough matchup for light. Ends so they're on the.
Bench Matt, stafford, though is not Threatening Sam donald for
THE mvp. AWARD i have Hedged Mike Donald bett with
Was stafford way back three hundred and eighty nine yards
three touchdowns in The week five meeting could easily replicate those. Numbers,
(01:24:44):
AGAIN a grade For Matt. Stafford with pogainakol off the injury,
report by the, WAY i should say he got banged
up towards the end of last week's, game but he
is good to go over the forty nine ers, side
starting With christian. McCaffrey i'm not gonna go Well christian mc,
afy who charges somewhat willing injury upon. Recently not, really
(01:25:04):
but you're just, like.
Speaker 2 (01:25:05):
No, Waiting i'm. Nervous i'm waiting at this.
Speaker 1 (01:25:09):
Point you're you're like a pitcher goes into the dugout
after the eight you, know perfect innings and you come
up and ask, him like if he's done his taxes,
yet that's what you're. Doing McCaffrey. Injury but, ANYWAY i
just got to be on McCaffrey. Here he was stuffed
on the ground In week five against The, rams twenty
two carries for fifty seven scoreless yards on the. Ground
(01:25:30):
he didn't make up for it through the air as
he usually. Does eight catches eighty two yards at a
touchdown in that first. Meeting. Uh that, touchdown, though was
the only running back touchdown surrendered by The rams so
far this, season rushing or. Receiving so just to be for,
McCaffrey i got to see On Juwan jennings And Kendrick.
Bourne jennings missed the first. Meeting he was Mainly. Kendry
(01:25:54):
the forty nine ers racked up one hundred and ninety.
Yards forty nine or wide receivers racked up one hundred ninety. Yards, again,
like ninety percent of those yards were. Borns The saints
pass attack was shut down last week BY la but
that is not a. Shocker but in the game, Prior
jaguars wide receivers racked up more than two hundred and
fifty yards on The, rams SO i will start Both
jennings And. Born IF i had to pick, ONE i
(01:26:16):
would Pick jennings. Though between the, Two George kittle the
last one we'll mention in the pass. Attack he gets
to be. Here Jake tungus And Luke ferrell combined for
eight catches forty nine yards in a touchdown on thirteen
targets in the first. Meeting Juwan johnson scored against The
rams last, week so you Play kittle when he's. Healthy
he's healthy, now so you play. Him it's SCIENCE b
(01:26:38):
grade For. Kittle and, Lastly Mac jones is going to
start this. Game Brock purty might be, active but they
said even if, active Brock purdy will not. Start so
we're looking At macoons, again, who by the, way y
odds right, now smash that three hundred and forty two,
yards two touchdowns in the first, game no. INTERCEPTIONS i
(01:26:59):
got to be greade On Mac jones and what should
be a. SHOOTOUT i hope.
Speaker 3 (01:27:05):
You remember when it was like week three and they were, like,
oh you, know brock perty might play this. Week what
a bunch of.
Speaker 2 (01:27:10):
Bs you, know every week they're, LIKE.
Speaker 3 (01:27:12):
Abbi might, play might, Play and Then finally they, acknowledge you,
know much later that there was no chance he was
at a different not for a long, time But brock
to the return looming For.
Speaker 2 (01:27:21):
Brock not that the forty nine ers have ever done that, before,
oh no history of that.
Speaker 1 (01:27:25):
Whatsoever but think about forty nine ers win that, Division
Mac jones primary of the quarterback five hundred to. One right,
now give me those that would, be well That i'd,
be that would convoy they win The.
Speaker 3 (01:27:37):
West check out The Fantasy life channel On SERIOUS ExM
With Kendall valenzuela And Adam.
Speaker 2 (01:27:43):
Ronez they do a fantastic job and you get.
Speaker 3 (01:27:46):
To hear me Every tuesday talk about the et league
top ten most chopp. Players best of luck everybody in
week number. Ten we'll be back next
