A lot to dig into as part of this loss today.

Speaker 4 (01:17):
In some ways, you know, it's not how you win,
but you get over the finish line, but when you lose,
it's how you lose. And it was brutal at times today,
Ladies and gentlemen. While Ron finishes eating, we're gonna check
in with Dan in Austin. Dan, Welcome to Vikings fan line.

Speaker 5 (01:34):
G U t al E s s Gotless.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
What was it? Eight tall starts today?

Speaker 5 (01:45):
Yes, I mean at a certain point that's on the
QB and the coach and you can call it heresy,
but what is wrong with number eighteen?

Speaker 3 (01:53):
He hasn't been the.

Speaker 5 (01:54):
Same since a Meek Robertson body had last week or
last year week eighteen.

Speaker 3 (01:59):
There's a lot to be frustrated about. I'll hang up
and listen.

Speaker 4 (02:02):
Yeah, I appreciate the call eight false starts today, Ron.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
We just aired a previous segment.

Speaker 4 (02:08):
We were airing the press conference from Kevin O'Connell, not
the entire thing, but a nice portion of it, and
there was a lot of conversation around potential cadence and
on a couple of the false starts, we had some
motion moving so in the end though, I mean Justin
Jefferson had one.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
I think three or four of the old linemen had
a false start. Today.

Speaker 4 (02:28):
JJ McCarthy himself, I believe, was responsible for two.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
How on earth does that take place?

Speaker 6 (02:34):
Well, I mean there's a number of reasons, So I'm
not going to get into some of the basic ones,
which is just undisciplined, you know, no discipline, not paying
attention to whatever the call is, not paying attention to
the cadence.

Speaker 3 (02:45):
Well, I think that's the theme of this some entire operation.

Speaker 4 (02:48):
Right.

Speaker 6 (02:48):
Yeah, some people can say, like, oh, well his caten's changed,
you know, if it's hot hut or hut hut, So
that is different, you know, like is he changing the cadence?
That's gonna between him and Kevin O'Connell. Honestly, they're gonna
watch it back. They're gonna listen back to whatever they
can hear. You know, he's gonna go over with them.
But like that's the like day one of training camp
when you have a new quarterback is what is your

(03:09):
cadence and let your guys hear it, you know, cause
and then if you if whatever yours is, maybe max
you have to do it similar So when Max Brosmer
is in it's no different for the offensive line, and
so the number one guy sets it like whatever it is.
Was this hut hut or is it hut hut? Like
whatever that is, that's what it has to be too. Again,
if you're an up temple offense or something like that.

(03:31):
And it's on first sound when he went can camp.
As soon as he touched his helmet, TJ or TJ.
Howkinson and Derisol took off to the left. So it
tells me they were thinking, Okay, we're going fast. We're
trying to outmaneuver them. We're trying to out leverage them.
So the line can't, you know, stunt or shift or move.
We like it's lined up and looks good, let's go.

(03:51):
McCarthy on the other hand, was looking at maybe the
center and said, I don't think he can reach the
d tackle, So I'm gonna can this. Well, you probably
want to say, e's easy, slow it down. Then let
them know. Now again, I'm just saying from what I'm
used to. I don't know if they have a different
way of doing it. But that's why, like you see
a lot of quarterbacks do the leg thing. That's just
letting the center in the offensive line know I'm ready

(04:12):
for the ball.

Speaker 3 (04:13):
Now, that's what that is.

Speaker 6 (04:14):
And you'll see some guys do it like three or
four times because then the huddle we say he it's
on the fourth leg. So the first two or three
legs is nothing. That fourth one, Okay, now I'm ready.
And because what you don't want to do is you
don't want the defensive line of to figure out Okay,
every time he does one leg, he's snapping the ball.
So all that little stuff. Again, it's it's high level,
but it's simple. And so again that just like how

(04:35):
it's right. How focused were some of those guys in
those moments. And then honestly, like I hate to use PJ.
Fleck on this, but you know you've heard them talk
about that about penals. Ye, sometimes it comes down to
guys not paying attention. Like I mean, you know, you
can give every reason mistake possible. Sometimes guys just make
a mistake. It's part of the game. But eight is
way too many. Eight's embarrassing.

Speaker 4 (04:55):
Eight is going back to the beginning of your thought,
they're undisciplined of discipline for a team, by the way,
that was horribly pedalized early in the season, felt like
it had kind of leveled out, and the pre snap
penalties at one point kind of part of their issues.

Speaker 3 (05:11):
Eight fall starts today.

Speaker 4 (05:13):
Okay, Sam and Blaine, Sam, Welcome to Vikings fan line.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
Sam.

Speaker 7 (05:21):
Hey, guys, Hey, sorry, Yeah.

Speaker 8 (05:24):
I think the Vikings they should have won this game.
The defense they played pretty well and given up twenty
seven points for the betters out there. Lamar Jackson, he's
if he plays and they win. They scored twenty seven
points or more in his last sixteen wins. But I
think something that set out was just a batted down

(05:45):
balls at the line of scrimmage. So ron I would
like to ask you, like, is that just you defensive
play or is that have something to do with JJ
McCarthy staring down receivers.

Speaker 3 (05:57):
Thanks for the call, Sam.

Speaker 4 (05:59):
The Ravens came into this game with just eleven sacks,
so clearly you know part of their idea, especially since
they're just rolling with four all the time, and they
sent they sent Kyle Hamilton a number of times, so
they might send an extra rusher, but really just a
four men front in lieu of getting to the QB
on a regular basis. Get your hands up right right,
But then JJ McCarthy has to adapt to that, and

(06:21):
at times he did not today correct.

Speaker 6 (06:23):
Yeah, So the one I'm thinking of is Jordan Nison.
Was it was going into the end zone. The Asdon
had like a shallow route or underneath route, and looks
like McCarthy tried to sod like his arm was low,
so he was trying to like get it in there.
I'm glad he didn't actually make the play because Roquan
Smith was standing right there, like I don't know if
he saw him. And so that's where you kind of

(06:44):
like wonder, like did you even see the linebacker? Like who,
I know, you know Addison's coming, I know you see
nobody's out there, but you're missing zero. He's right there. Yeah,
And so when he got knocked down, we all looked up.
We're like, oh were they kind of worked out? Like
I'm glad you cause that would have been a pick
six probably. I mean McCarthy chasing down a linebacker maybe

(07:04):
makes the tackle.

Speaker 3 (07:06):
But one.

Speaker 6 (07:07):
Yeah, I don't think the staring down is a problem.
I just think it's the like the arm angle, Like
if you know you're looking here, you know, you gotta
know Okay, I gotta throw it over this guy or
I got a pump without for no reason, just I'm
pumping to make this guy go up, and then I'm
gonna throw it like watch ta mar Jackson.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
You watched him like he does that.

Speaker 6 (07:23):
He'll do like the fake little pump and then he
throws it because he knows I want to get you
off balance. So you don't know when I'm gonna throw
the ball the other thing, and I'm not telling him
to start doing this. Patrick Mahomes. You know we've seen
Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes.

Speaker 3 (07:36):
The no look like.

Speaker 6 (07:37):
Part of it is you don't want to look at
the receiver you're throwing it. Two you know you're about
to throw this here look over here. And then it's
not truly a no look like. Everybody's like, oh he's
a magician. No, he's looking at him out the corner
of his eye.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
He just turned his.

Speaker 6 (07:49):
Head to kind of make it look like he's looking here.
And you know, I'm doing this for Nordal people at
the home in the radio. You can't see what I'm doing,
but I'm doing some elite no look throws peripheral, peripheral,
So you just got to use that peripheral vision where
you're kind of like you're looking, but your head kind
of tilts to the left, and then that just makes
the guy think like, oh, he's not throwing it here, sure,
and then.

Speaker 3 (08:05):
You throw it quick.

Speaker 6 (08:06):
So again, this is like we keep acting like this
is a two year veteran. This is a kid that's
played in five football games in the NFL. You know,
he this is stuff that comes with learning timing, seeing it.
So these are just growing pains of a young quarterback.
It is what it is like. You know, he threw
for almost two hundred and fifty yards, which two undred
fifty yards was our sinker sailed to day, kind of
pissed off.

Speaker 3 (08:26):
He's two forty eight, so I guess you sailed it.

Speaker 6 (08:29):
I did sail it. I was hoping he's gonna go
for two fifty one HAWKINSI should have just reached out,
just reach out. That's that's two more yards right there.
He just fell to the ground, like, reach out, get
get a couple of more yards?

Speaker 4 (08:40):
Can I get my Can I get my QB to
accurately hit receivers on our regular There was some guys
four We started trying to get him to do the
no looks, Ron Like, I want him to hit the
looks and then we can get to the no looks.

Speaker 3 (08:52):
You know what I mean, Josh and Lincoln.

Speaker 4 (08:56):
Josh, welcome to Vikings fan line.

Speaker 9 (09:00):
Hey man, thanks for having me. I know we're dogging
on our team. Man, there's a lot that went wrong today.
We got to acknowledge some real studs. We got a
real star development and Jalen Redman up on my d line.
He's really the strongest kind of stirring the drink.

Speaker 4 (09:16):
Yeah, Josh, I couldn't agree with you more. I appreciate
the phone call, man. Jalen Redman with eight tackles today,
only behind Blake Cashman in his eleven. Jalen was all
over the place and the I mean, in the end,
I'm trying to it was the it was that field
goal drive shortly before half. No, it was the well
what should have been I believe the it would have

(09:40):
been the second field goal they kicked before we quickly
went three and out, took like thirty seconds off the clock,
and then they drove down and kicked another one. They
figured out how to run and for a while, for
a while that looked worrisome. But overall in the day,
if you're gonna say, hey, I'm I'm I'm letting Henry
get three point a to carry, you know what I mean?
And Lamar Lamar actually has kind of taken some of

(10:03):
the running back, maybe specifically because of the injury, and
he's missed some games obviously, but he gets to thirty
six on the ground through some scrambling I thought, Jalen Redmond,
I mean not only all effort, all energy, but he
was all over the place, first to the ball, kind
of leading the gang tackling, if that makes sense. Jalen
Redman just continuing to impress.

Speaker 6 (10:24):
Yeah, and he shoots the gap pretty fast and he's
does a great job of wrapping up. We see so
many guys get in there and then they missed that
tackle and they come out on the back end. But yeah,
I mean he's been playing well. I think we said
it like weeks ago, like he's been playing well all season.
Like he's been a bright surprise, which is probably one
of the reasons why they kept him and got rid
of some guys, you know, or traded Harrison Phillips. You know,
I think they saw what they had in this kid,

(10:45):
and yeah, I think he's going to be a hopefully
be a good piece of defense for a while.

Speaker 4 (10:50):
Howard and cast Leg Howard, Welcome to Vikings fan line.

Speaker 10 (10:55):
Hey, thanks for having me. Yeah, I have several points
to make a starting with undisciplined, unprepared, out coached, outplayed
in basically all phases. Then let's get to Mattelas and
Murphy big contract extensions and to me, up to this

(11:16):
point in the season, that's all they're doing is collecting
their paycheck. Mattellus is horrible in coverage, and he does
not want to tackle the big boys, starting with tight end,
going back to Gadsden, Henry, you name it. He doesn't
want to wrap, he doesn't want to have much to

(11:37):
do with any of them. Murphy, after the stellar season
he had last year, where is he? I mean, I
see him, but I don't see him making any kind
of a big difference like as he should. And O'Connell,
my goodness, third and one and you have to get greedy.
You can't pick up a first down on a running

(11:58):
play that's through Dick And then after the game to
hear him say the same old thing every time after
every one of our losses and sometimes even after a
couple of our wins. It's a broken record. And McCarthy

(12:19):
those tip balls, as far as I could tell, mostly
sidearm passes, when do you throw over the top. And
then on one of our last drives when he gets sacked,
he stepped up into the pocket instead of going outside
where he could have run for the first down. But

(12:41):
other than that, that's pretty much it.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
Okay, thank you.

Speaker 4 (12:45):
Other than that, it was a pretty good gang. Thanks
for the call, Howard. I appreciate it. I'm kind of
Mattelis has been putting spots that aren't in his favor.

Speaker 3 (12:55):
We've chronicled some of those in a cup.

Speaker 4 (12:57):
From a coverage standpoint, Murphy, I'm not necessarily There's a
couple of things going on here. Murphy has not had
the same impactful season by any stretch of the imagination,
that he had a.

Speaker 3 (13:09):
Year ago, So I'm not necessarily mad.

Speaker 4 (13:11):
There's really not a lot that I can Overall, I
can't really disagree with much of what Charlie Howard said there.

Speaker 3 (13:17):
But the tough thing for me is what.

Speaker 4 (13:21):
Is happening between our lack of success pressuring and sacking
the QB.

Speaker 3 (13:28):
Overall, I mean, save for last week.

Speaker 4 (13:29):
Of course, you put five on golf, and then the
lack of turnovers and the lack of splashy plays on
the back end. You know where I'm going with this.
Like that, there's just something that's off that was there
you can't predict. You know, they were tied for the
NFL lead in takeaways a year ago. It's tough to
predict or make that a measurable standard, and there are
so many different factors and circumstances that go into that.

Speaker 3 (13:51):
But overall, in totality.

Speaker 4 (13:55):
The splash plays in the secondary almost completely gone in
the nation, with some trouble we've had getting into the
QB this year.

Speaker 6 (14:03):
Yeah, I mean yeah, because you're not forcing a quarterback
to move faster than he wants to move.

Speaker 3 (14:06):
He's kind of sitting in the pocket. He's comfortable.

Speaker 6 (14:09):
The one Murphy almost had was where he broke on
the out route and Lamar Jackson throws up perfect, like perfect.
It was like a change up, Like he didn't throw
the fastball, he threw the change up.

Speaker 3 (14:20):
And that's that's kind of the thing.

Speaker 6 (14:22):
That's like great defenses you have to be able to
It's just like great hitters in baseball. You can't just
throw a fastball. You gotta throw a change up, you
gotta throw a slider, you gotta throw a curve. But
you gotta go something off speed when you know they're coming.
And that's what he did. He kind of stared the
blitz down most of the time. He stared the rush
down and hoped that his offensive line and running backs
could you know, keep him protected. And then the minute

(14:44):
he felt like, okay, this is a quick out Bier
Murphy's sitting on it, he just floated it right over him.
So part of the like the other one was it
Isaiah Rodgers on the tip from Van Ginko couldn't get
to it, you know, the other one Van Ginko gets
the tip and Lamar Jackson knocks it down. You know, honestly,
I wish he hit pushed Lamar Jackson because at that point,
once you hit the ball, you can do whatever you

(15:04):
want to the receivers, anybody.

Speaker 3 (15:06):
You can hit the quarterback. You So if he had just.

Speaker 6 (15:08):
Thrown Lamar Jackson to the ground, now he can stand
under the ball and intercept it. He kind of stood
there with him and like boxed them out and let
Lamar Jackson knock the ball down again. I know it's
probably like, well there's a quarterback. I want to be
careful because theyll throw flag on me. But yeah, I
think the splash plays could have come, but it just
wasn't the Vikings day. Like I feel like, you know,
a couple of weeks ago, when was Isaiah Rodgers had

(15:28):
those huge plays, those same plays today if last you
know whatever, two weeks ago, three weeks whatever game that was,
they happened. It's just today wasn't the Vikings defensive day.
And it's been that way. Like you have to get
but Lamar Jackson mainly you have to get after him
and then make him move in the pocket uncomfortably. He
was pretty comfortable for a lot of those dropbacks. And

(15:49):
I think that's that was the biggest key.

Speaker 3 (15:51):
That's Ron Johnson Nomnordo.

Speaker 4 (15:53):
When we return, Vikings fan line continues, a bunch of
talkbacks dialed in. I had to read to make sure
there were no FCC violations, ready to fire a bunch
of those off. We got full phone lines, some text messages.
But when we return, I do want to touch on
one thing, that interception, the third and one going for it.
JJ Jefferson trips easy connection on the back end. I

(16:13):
think that was Humphrey with the interception. I want to
get Ron's take on that. A lot of questions about
going for two when the Vikings were able to pull
within eight.

Speaker 3 (16:22):
Points, Why or why not? All kinds of things to
get to.

Speaker 4 (16:25):
As the Vikings lose today twenty seven nineteen to the
Baltimore Ravens, falling to four and five Bears at home
next Sunday, we continue on with Vikings fan line.

Speaker 3 (16:35):
This is Minnesota Vikings Football.

Speaker 1 (16:38):
Your home for all things Purple God FM one hundred
point three kfa N the fan.

Speaker 11 (16:57):
Another anthetic job of coaching, kind of wondering if they
put coach under the tent to be evaluated. You score
a touchdown three minutes left and you go for two
and you miss.

Speaker 12 (17:12):
Great.

Speaker 13 (17:13):
It's a piece that was a piece of crap game coaching,
special teams, mental mistakes, players aren't being very smart.

Speaker 14 (17:26):
Coach that needs to call better play calls.

Speaker 3 (17:29):
And learn how to manage the clock has an embarrassment.
Time for change has Bopam Bismarck.

Speaker 15 (17:39):
Hey, the biggest take from today's game.

Speaker 3 (17:43):
JJ McCarthy is a gamer.

Speaker 6 (17:48):
We all know that, but.

Speaker 15 (17:51):
You know his alter ego number nine needs to take
a step back every once in a while, because not
every not every needs to be one hundred mile per
hour fastball.

Speaker 4 (18:04):
Thanks for the talkbacks, and let's let's play this one
as well.

Speaker 3 (18:08):
Actually free, iheartrate Alex and Blaine love the show. Listen
every week.

Speaker 16 (18:11):
I just wanted to get guys thoughts on going for
two when they scored in the fourth. I actually do
know the map behind that. I'm usually a huge proponent
for that. I have to argue my friends explain why
it makes sense, but I actually didn't like it in
this case. I know they were really discombobulated. Everything was
going wrong. I just didn't trust them to get the
two there. I think they should have probably just kicked

(18:32):
it and you know, taking their chances trying to go
for overtime.

Speaker 4 (18:36):
Hey, thanks for the talkbacks. Free iHeartRadio app. And that's
where you know what, that's where we'll start. Welcome back.

Speaker 3 (18:42):
It's Vikings fan line.

Speaker 4 (18:43):
Vikes lose twenty seven to nineteen to the Ravens, and
albeit it ended up not mattering because the Vikings weren't
able to find their way back into the end zone
to then have to attempt the two point conversion that
they would be forced to use to tie instead of
potentially just kicking the extra point to tie because they
went for two when they made it twenty seven nineteen

(19:06):
and were unsuccessful.

Speaker 3 (19:07):
Thank you Alex and Blaine and others for bringing this up.
Ron I'm reading about it. Kind of the idea is.

Speaker 4 (19:16):
You want, from a momentum standpoint, you put yourself in
a spot where if you get that too, then as
they are driving down to score that touchdown there, if
they had been successful, an extra point wins them the
game versus simply then going to overtime.

Speaker 3 (19:32):
Correct.

Speaker 4 (19:33):
I understand the logic behind it. I even understand some
of the math behind it. Like Alex was talking about,
I frankly just don't like it. That's just me as
me as a rube, I'm thinking to myself, you're at home,
Just handle bleeping business at home. If it requires OT,
it requires OT to mess around and such with, you know,
in that particular spot, as discombobulated as they were, just

(19:57):
get rikered out there, get an extra point, make it
a touchdown game, and then we can see what happens.

Speaker 7 (20:02):
You know.

Speaker 6 (20:03):
Yeah, not getting the two point conversion conversions also deflating,
like to your team, it's like you're up, You're up.
Jalen Naylor makes a great catch, Just ride that high,
Ride that high, go back because again, if they if
they're down seven, you come back out there with a
different mindset.

Speaker 3 (20:18):
The fact that you're only down seven.

Speaker 6 (20:19):
Now you put the pressure like on the other team
to kind of feel like, dang, they just drove down.

Speaker 3 (20:24):
You know, had a great drive before that.

Speaker 6 (20:26):
Even within that drive, you know the thirty yards something
scamper for a first down.

Speaker 3 (20:30):
You know, to get a bunch of yards back.

Speaker 6 (20:32):
Yeah, you know, if you're down seven again, mentally, everybody's
still in it. I just I don't like it either
because I look at like when you make those decisions.
Dan Campbell goes against a lot of analytics at times,
Like he does a lot of stuff that people like, dude,
just kick the field goal. Just do this, just do
you know, don't go for it here, punt or kick
the field goal. Stop going for it on fourth from whatever.
And it did bite Dan Campbell on the butt in
the NFC Championship game against the forty nine ers. Right, Yeah,

(20:55):
but there's a time to do in a time not
like it shouldn't just be analytics. You know, like people
probably can go back and say, dude, if you just
took the field goal there, it's Dan Cambell I'm talking about.
You're probably in the in the super Bowl, you know,
so sometimes like going like the guy said, analytics might
say this is the time to do it, but feel
the game, like feel it. You know, I think Dan
Campbell failed against the forty nine ers. He wasn't feeling

(21:17):
the game like you were absolutely destroying them. Just keep
taking every single point at that point, no need to
like pile it on for one more touchdown, take the
three that puts a bigger distance on them, like like
feel the game out. And that's where sometimes these coaches
get caught up in the analytics side of it, and
you know, I just I didn't like it there, But
the broadcast said it. They were like, oh this, it

(21:38):
does call for this in this situation, but who calls
for it? Like what math are you doing? You're I
agree with you, you're at home. It's okay to going overtime
at home on the road. I get it because you
don't want to deal with their fans anymore and you
just want to dagger them you're at home. You're going
to have a quiet overtime. When your team gets out there,
your defense is going to have all the help in
the world from the fans.

Speaker 3 (21:58):
Just take it overtime.

Speaker 4 (22:00):
Can you imagine if we had gone to overtime, how
many false starts we could have had that was taken
from us today? We only had eight. We only had
eight today. I feel cheated thirteen total penalty that we
didn't get the extra penalty. Uh, the extra false starts
in the extra period, wand a dozen?

Speaker 3 (22:16):
You want to just go for a four dozen? I
just fall started.

Speaker 6 (22:18):
We left some false starts on the table today at
a Baker's dozen of penalties though ye had thirteen there.

Speaker 3 (22:23):
One hundred and two yards.

Speaker 4 (22:24):
I think football fields whereths of L's Frank and Iowa Frank.
Welcome to Vikings fan line.

Speaker 17 (22:31):
Yes, yes, I would like to mention they're going to
have to work on their defense to stop the opposing
quarterback from having good games and prying open guys to.

Speaker 7 (22:44):
Pass off off too. And also on offense, JJ McCarthy
needs to understand the the play he's the wide receiver
or tied in or running back from the backfield, he's
going to throw to in the huddle and the offensive
line to kid keep no when the move, move, move

(23:06):
on rotation, when the when when Jake McCarthy gets the ball,
doing the harder when he when he hiking the ball,
when the when he hiking the ball. That's pretty much
what I need to discuss, because the previous caller already
brought up most of the stuff that I mentioned mentioned earlier.

Speaker 4 (23:21):
Well, I appreciate it, Frank, have a great day, Owen
and fairmount Owen.

Speaker 3 (23:25):
Welcome to Vikings fan line.

Speaker 18 (23:28):
Hey guys, thanks, I'm sorry, guys, the QB is more
of a problem than we were taking it. I understand
he didn't play last year, but we spend all this
money on a defense for an offense that can't keep
be consistent.

Speaker 6 (23:40):
For a half of ball.

Speaker 18 (23:42):
We have the most wasted talent on offense and our
defense has not been the issue at all. McCarthy does
not look comfortable out there. For example, the first pick
he threw, he had plenty of green grass in front
of him and he he forces it to JJ and
terrible throw. I mean, I didn't see the all three

(24:03):
go today? Is if an over reaction to see what Brosmer.

Speaker 10 (24:06):
Has that's all I got, guys, thank you.

Speaker 3 (24:09):
I was waiting for it.

Speaker 4 (24:10):
We were I was joking about it with with Max
and an Abbot prior prior to fan line, prior to
the l and I was waiting for the Brosmer. What
do you the Brosmer mentions? Uh you actually there was
like a gratuitous Brosmer mention.

Speaker 3 (24:22):
You were talking early on.

Speaker 4 (24:24):
H what do you think, Brosemer it's a rap put Brosmer.

Speaker 3 (24:29):
In, No, why not, No, it's not.

Speaker 6 (24:31):
Time's here's the thing, the arm angle stuff, fixable, the not.
I'm not saying no, look, you're right, let's get the
brails stuff. But it comes down to when you watch
Lamar I said, and I can't I use Lamar Jackson
in this situation. Right early on in his career, people
said the same thing. He's not a thrower, right, They're like,
he can't make some of these throws. He's making the

(24:51):
throws now, his passer rating is ridiculous, like his turnover
to his touchdown interception ratio is nuts, like he might
end up having mean, if he can stay at this pace,
like it's gonna be nuts, Like he's gonna have one
of the best touchdown of interception ratios in NFL history.
So I'm not saying we need to wait three years
for JJ McCarthy to get to there, but I think
that and JJ McCarthy's more of a true passer than

(25:13):
Lamar was in college, like Lamar was a true dual threat.
He could throw the ball though, And here's what I
think about it. It's fixable with the arm stuff. His
evolution as a passer is insane. Or Lamar Jackson lamars,
Oh yeah, he's got wave. I mean, like I said,
me and Bursus broke him down in the three minute
drill in the pregame show. And when you just watch
some of the layer throws the secondary over the guy's head,

(25:33):
throws the corner routes that just beat the safety and
get over the corner's head. I mean, it's beautiful, But
that comes down to two. Probably his coach is top monkey,
one of them probably saying, hey, you don't have to
always be ready to run, like I'm gonna help you
out with some motions, like they motion a ton to
help him out, they shift a bunch to help him out.
When Kevin O'Connell shifts emotions. And I said this to Rosie.

(25:56):
You can see I mean, and again, maybe just because
I played it, I can kind of see where they're
trying to go. I was saying it every time. I'm like,
here's just it's about to go to Justin Jefferson. I'm like, oh, yep,
they're going to Naylor. Because it looks a little too predictable.
Predictable you got us, Like Hockinson is on this team,
he is six six right, six' five whatever he, Is
if he's in the middle of the, field just nice

(26:17):
little easy, past like you don't have to zing it in,
there like just let like cause who Does andrews you,
know he kind of turns around and just boxes out
the guy behind, Him LIKE i don't.

Speaker 3 (26:26):
Know if we think the office line is not giving
him enough.

Speaker 6 (26:29):
Time part of the problem is we're doing way too
much play, action so his back as to the. Defenders
so by the time he sets, up he doesn't have
time to read where he's going. Next it's a force
read because he doesn't have. Time maybe just let him
sit in the in the in the pocket and just
throw the ball every once in a, while just do
one or two.

Speaker 3 (26:45):
Drives let's see what.

Speaker 6 (26:46):
Happens run a, hitch run a, slant you run a corner,
route you run a, dig you run a, curl you
run a. Flat let him learn how to read high low. First,
yeah and that's WHAT i just, Wonder like we say
it over and over, again but you, KNOW i think
this is Just Kevinc counmor's. Offense it's play. Action it's
second and. One i'm gonna go. Deep it's third and.
One i'm gonna trick. Them it's what third and, Eleven

(27:08):
i'm gonna run a double motion shift throwback with my
receiver to my quarterback who's running with a jail breaks
screen in front of. Him, like you, know it's.

Speaker 4 (27:16):
Just AM i. AM I i can't be the only
one that wins a little. Bit when he took that,
hit oh, YEAH i was, like oh my, God Max
bus was coming.

Speaker 3 (27:22):
In we did we just do that to number? NINE
i mean he.

Speaker 6 (27:25):
Made i'm not gonna say he made a little shifty.
MOVES i like the jump stock.

Speaker 3 (27:29):
There was a. Shimmy what if that knocked the nine
out of?

Speaker 4 (27:33):
Him hey what if he lost his alter ego for
the rest of the game because we tried.

Speaker 6 (27:38):
To get Cutes, like, YEAH i thought he's gonna get
up and do like a shoulder thing or a leg
thing like, yeah just like he doesn't need to take unncessary.

Speaker 3 (27:44):
Hits so, no, no he.

Speaker 4 (27:45):
Doesn't can you imagine if some of those play action
passes were runs for a team that averaged six point
seven to carry?

Speaker 6 (27:51):
Today, Ron, yeah they're probably in second and, two you,
know third and, one first, down Maybe Aaron jones fire
to start the.

Speaker 3 (27:58):
Game, yes he's on. Fire he was absolutely just as
he was a week. Ago troy And, Hampton, Troy welcome
To vikings fan.

Speaker 9 (28:05):
Line, hey good, afternoon.

Speaker 3 (28:07):
Guys how are we doing doing? Well how are?

Speaker 7 (28:09):
You we're go away from the.

Speaker 19 (28:12):
GAME i really want to talk about four some the, Coaches,
ben BUT i kind of changed my. Mind SO i
thought About Kyle, hamilton how good he was. Looking purple,
said what do we Take lewis? Scene and ONE i
wanted to make is The bikers have a great. Season
you know THE wilf they raised the ticket, prices but

(28:33):
we've lost three or four home. Games are they gonna
get me a?

Speaker 8 (28:37):
Refund i'm a season take over for.

Speaker 7 (28:39):
Years hecking a.

Speaker 19 (28:40):
Refund, guys have a great.

Speaker 4 (28:42):
Day thanks for the, call and, uh you, know what
best of luck trying to trying to get any money,
back but.

Speaker 3 (28:50):
Uh, yeah one in three A us. Bank.

Speaker 4 (28:52):
MAN i, mean that's that's painful just to think about
it as. Well and The gophers are undefeated at, home
so there's. That, Okay, ron we're gonna. Pause this Is
vikings fan line.

Speaker 6 (29:04):
Didn't want to say something though he brought up the
The lewis scene. THING i actually said something to a
couple Of ravens execs BECAUSE i was, like, yeah, man
we gave you Guys Kyle, hamilton and they were, like,
yeah appreciate.

Speaker 3 (29:14):
That but then they also said don't forget.

Speaker 6 (29:15):
Though Eric DaCosta got blasted at first Because Kyle hamilton.
Struggled remember he was getting beatn practice because he was
so slow head.

Speaker 3 (29:23):
Exactly so that pick was not great at.

Speaker 6 (29:26):
First but what they ended up doing was they're putting
him in positions to be all over the. Field now
not SO i think The vikings would have done that too.
Eventually but let's not come out the gate saying. That you,
Know Kyle hamilton was a sure first, route like it was, like,
oh go.

Speaker 3 (29:38):
Get, him you.

Speaker 6 (29:39):
Know BUT i just like the Connection Harrison smith had
With Notre dame, LIKE.

Speaker 3 (29:43):
I, mean it was.

Speaker 6 (29:43):
ABSOLUTELY i mean after they drafted, him, like don't act
like The ravens fans were, like, oh this was the
best decision we ever. Made like they were all, saying
why were we draft the safety that? High that's what
they were. Saying, Yeah i'm talking to them LIKE i
was acting, them and they're like BECAUSE i was said the.

Speaker 3 (29:54):
Same, Day i'm, like, man we Took lewis.

Speaker 6 (29:55):
Scene we could have had you, know we could have
Had Cayle hamilton right now next To Harrison. Smith you,
know two Gold, domers Two Notre, damers you, know speaking
the same.

Speaker 3 (30:04):
Language could have had. That, yeah we could. Have we could,
have but we. Didn't we.

Speaker 4 (30:09):
Didn't we had we Had Andrew booth and we had N,
ingram so Between Andrew booth because that was the trade
back for the extra, PICK i believe twenty spots back
and we only added a pick in the second.

Speaker 3 (30:21):
Round by the, Way woof and Lou sen in the.

Speaker 4 (30:24):
First would you rather Have Kyle hamilton hindsight or pick
Between Andrew booth or At?

Speaker 3 (30:32):
Ingram what do you think? Rhindsight what do you think? Hindsight?

Speaker 4 (30:36):
Hindsight, yes of, course hindsight is a, Beast there's no
doubt about.

Speaker 3 (30:40):
It vikings lose twenty seven to.

Speaker 4 (30:42):
Nineteen do want to dig more into THE qb because
there's an element, here you, know expectations set roster independent
of a quarterback should be. Competitive kid goes, out throws two.
Picks kid throws beautiful fade To Jalen. Naylor kid throws
the ball ten yards over the head Of Jordan. Addison
the inconsistencies of the KID qb all part of this.

(31:03):
One twenty seven. Nineteen the Final vikes are four and.
Five It's vikings fan. Line Ron johnson's, Here I'm. Nordo
Max fuller's with, us leading up to some overtime and
eventually wild hockey this evening right.

Speaker 3 (31:14):
Here on the. Fan but right now this Is Minnesota vikings.

Speaker 20 (31:17):
FOOTBALL i cannot believe some of these people want to
bring In.

Speaker 14 (31:28):
BROSMER i, mean come, on the kid's twenty two and
he's played four. Games if he can just have his
offense not full start eight times and take a little,
breath they'll be just. Fine anybody who can't see that
this kid has the clutch gene needs to take a
visit to the Blue.

Speaker 4 (31:45):
Tent The blue ten sending, Coaches we're sending callers.

Speaker 3 (31:52):
Everybody there's room.

Speaker 4 (31:53):
For everybody in the blue tent to get checked.

Speaker 3 (31:56):
Out dan From, robinsdale you know what's going to happen,
online don't do it IS.

Speaker 21 (32:04):
Jj McCarthy throw across his body interception to lose a
big game for. Us throws across the body have got to.
Stop those are just, ugly, ugly, ugly. Ugly, anyways part
trip's always going to be fun in the, morning love.

Speaker 3 (32:22):
Y'all skull for. Life, yes what's that ball?

Speaker 4 (32:27):
Doing?

Speaker 22 (32:28):
Talkbacks, yeah So i'm done with the quarterback whisper. NONSENSE
i don't ever want to hear that, again the phrase
thrown out ever. AGAIN i don't care if he's done
okay with some quarterbacks in the. PAST i think that
has more to do with circumstance and where those players
were going and the teams they were at prior to

(32:49):
coming to The. Vikings we got some. Problems it's not
gonna be solved, easily not this.

Speaker 4 (32:56):
Year Beace Man vikings fan Line The Exasperated nature A
coordination twenty seven. Nineteen The vikings lose to The. Ravens
they're now four and. Five here's another.

Speaker 23 (33:09):
Talkback this team needs to come together and play comptromary.
Football this Is christopher from the east side Of Dayton's,
Bluff Saint, Paul, minnesota the toughest neighborhood in the.

Speaker 3 (33:23):
State we.

Speaker 23 (33:24):
GO jj McCarthy made some cold blooded. Throws you can
make the, throws you can make the pro. Throws we
just need to limit the mistakes and play compromary.

Speaker 3 (33:34):
Football thank, you East Side Saint. Paul what Up Dayton's?
Bluff thank You. Christopher i'm from the eas side Of.
Detroit is that the same? THING i?

Speaker 10 (33:45):
Think?

Speaker 6 (33:45):
So he's out Of Saul's Fadamarin Luther King High school
exactly thirty two. Hundred was that Tough? Gardner was that
a tough guy, town tough guy? AREA i don't even
know if it's tough. Guy they don't Even you don't
see them coming, There you don't.

Speaker 3 (33:57):
Know.

Speaker 4 (33:59):
Uh the point of a couple of, those the patience
required with McCarthy and the growing pains associated with the arm.

Speaker 3 (34:08):
Angle what about from like a quarterback?

Speaker 4 (34:10):
Whisperer what about from a decision making standpoint with, McCarthy
like in The lions, GAME i thought that he took
steps in terms from a decision making, standpoint you can
even put the pick On terry And arnold in some,
Ways i'm Thinking naylor probably actually needs to catch.

Speaker 7 (34:26):
That.

Speaker 3 (34:26):
Yeah and and by the, Way naylor showed.

Speaker 6 (34:28):
Up in a big way on the thigh the thigh, One,
yeah that's not On.

Speaker 3 (34:33):
Naylor that was behind. Him it was behind.

Speaker 4 (34:35):
Him That there's, no it's there's, there it's it's.

Speaker 3 (34:39):
He's definitely, no he's.

Speaker 4 (34:41):
Definitely he's definitely culpable in terms of where it's at
when he comes into connection with the.

Speaker 3 (34:47):
Ball and Somehow terry And arnold ends up with the.
Ball act's not on. Him the decisions were. Pure there
will be no receiver slander On.

Speaker 4 (34:58):
Sundays but some of the throat or complete L's AND
i was joking about it last week with the throwover Justin.

Speaker 3 (35:05):
Jefferson's head on to the.

Speaker 4 (35:06):
Field well that's the thing though he's he had about
four or five to that.

Speaker 3 (35:09):
Ron so it's just the is it all? Mechanical is
it all these are?

Speaker 6 (35:14):
Correctable it's So orlowski you know when you watch him
talk about, yeah, platform where your, feet where your, shoulders
where your?

Speaker 3 (35:24):
Eyes where's your? Arm so that all goes.

Speaker 6 (35:27):
Together you, KNOW i Guarantee kevin O'Connell can break it
down and, say, hey look look at your shoulder on this. One,
hey look at your eyes on this. One because they
use That god's eye, camera you, know so you can
kind of get a different higher up. Angle you can
see all that like he's gonna. Again i'm not staring at.
That i'm not even gonna waste my time doing. It
But kevin O'Connell can see. IT i don't care what
the talkback. Said he is a quarterback. Whisper you can

(35:49):
say whatever you, want quarterback, whisper quarterback, whisper talk About,
Donald wait hear it, again you're gonna hear it, again quarterback.
Whisper he is a quarterback. Whisperer so But jajon, McCarthy
you can't. Say we can't say he's the first it
is his first, year like it looks like a rookie.
Y it is like we you can't ask for a
rookie quarterback and a Low here's the. Thing every time
they kept re Signing.

Speaker 3 (36:10):
Kirk everybody was, saying why don't we just try the
guy to draft?

Speaker 6 (36:13):
Him and look at look at the look at The
chiefs look at the The chiefs didn't win the First
Super bowl With Patrick.

Speaker 3 (36:18):
Mahomes it took.

Speaker 6 (36:19):
Time but you want that first, contract so it give
it four. Years give it four, years and then let's
look at the fan line in twenty. Thirty in twenty,
thirty if it didn't, happen then we can go back and, say,
man they should just Sign Sam. Darnold but you got
to give them, time like you got to give them
time to throw, it like and that's or, sorry time to.
Grow but that's the, Thing, like but, yes he is.

(36:41):
Somebod these throws are. High tell me you know the.
Decision so back to the, decision because you were saying
that's what.

Speaker 2 (36:46):
That's what it.

Speaker 6 (36:47):
Is that's WHAT i wanted to decision. Make he got
rid of the ball today though it threw it out of.
Bounds he threw it into the. Dirt he didn't like
some of the ones where we were, like, dude stop
running around and then throwing. It and to the other
caller or the talk, back you have to be in
a big game to throw it across your body to get,
intercepted like four and. FIVE i don't know if there's
gonna be any big games like they're basically potentially planning

(37:10):
for draft status at this, point, like you, know like
it's it's not far off because The, packers you, know The,
bears nobody's really jumped out there and just ran away
WITH Nc.

Speaker 3 (37:18):
North so they still have a chance to get.

Speaker 6 (37:19):
In the, playoffs you, know with ten, Wins but when
you look at the, schedule where do those other six
wins come? From, yeah you, know and that's the tough
thing about down the. Stretch you got The lions, again.

Speaker 3 (37:29):
You got The.

Speaker 4 (37:29):
Packers what you're talking about going six and two to
the finish line for the regular. Season, yeah that's a,
tough tough, stretch very very tough. Stretch to the phone,
Lines justin And Shokape, Justin welcome To vikings fan.

Speaker 5 (37:42):
Line, HEY i just want to SAY i think everyone
just needs to take a step back ON jj and
give them a.

Speaker 3 (37:50):
Break.

Speaker 10 (37:52):
Young i'm twenty four AND i KNOW i still make,
Mistakes so why can't he at that?

Speaker 8 (37:58):
Age you, Know, LIKE i just think everyone needs to.

Speaker 5 (38:01):
Take a step back because we weren't going to win
A Super bowl this, year and everyone needs to take
a deep breath and see what we got throughout the
rest of the.

Speaker 3 (38:11):
Year thanks, guys he's twenty. Four thank? You can you
throw the? Looks?

Speaker 4 (38:17):
Yeah so the the second, pick the third and, one
the deep, Ball, YEAH i like that they took that shot.

Speaker 3 (38:23):
THERE i.

Speaker 4 (38:24):
Don't and he said in the press conference that he
had planned on going for it on fourth no matter,
what Right jefferson gets tripped. UP i just WAS i
was watching THE tv. Copy you were. There, yep he
stepped on his calf or. Whatever, yeah, okay and he
just fell.

Speaker 7 (38:40):
Down.

Speaker 3 (38:40):
Yeah well the balls in the air before that. Happens ron,
Correct so it looks. Bad, yeah, yeah he was running under.
IT i, mean but you you don't like, that you
don't like the decision on third and.

Speaker 6 (38:49):
ONE i don't if you're gonna do, that, RIGHT i
get the one on One jefferson down the field With Marlon,
humphreys BUT i would rather for a secondary deep Over
so you have the deep overcoming this, way you Have
jefferson on the other over going. Deep give him a
second dary option other than just throw it as humanly
far as possible as he can for Just jeffson to

(39:09):
fall on the. Ground now, again hindsight twenty twenty Of
jefferson doesn't fall does he Outjump Marlin humphreys for that?

Speaker 3 (39:14):
Ball?

Speaker 6 (39:14):
Probably SO i understand your thought and THAT i, MEAN
i understand, it But i'm just third one second one,
Again i'm always a, fan and just go get the first.
Down run like you have a back like you, said
six six and a half yards of carry at that. Point,
yeah just run the. Ball you have a full back
back HEALTHY. Cj, ham he doesn't fall. Backwards just hand

(39:37):
it to him and let him fall forward behind What
darrin saw and what's his, Name Donovan? Jackson like you got,
It just go get the first. Down and like The
ravens every time it's third and, one they're not thinking toush.
Push they're handing it to the two hundred and thirty
pound mac truck or they're giving it to the three
hundred pound full back like they're just trying to get
first downs to move on to the next. Drive it's it's.

(39:58):
Patience we're supposed to have patients with the. Quarterback the
coach and needs to have patience with the. Drive it
doesn't always need to be gotten in a one big
you know. Gulp you don't have, to you, know drink
it all right, there take your time it's like an
old Fashion just sip.

Speaker 4 (40:11):
It it's not a shot At Tequila't i've got to
throw it.

Speaker 3 (40:14):
Back just sip it.

Speaker 4 (40:16):
After a game like, That how good would a shot
at tequila? Be Holy, Cats andrew And Detroit Lakes, Andrew
welcome To vikings Fan.

Speaker 8 (40:23):
Line thanks for having.

Speaker 2 (40:26):
Me number.

Speaker 24 (40:27):
One first of, all there will be No Max. Bros
brand For jaj McCarthy slander from me because that's just
absurd and people are way too. Reactionary get over. It
he needs. Time give him, time and then we'll. Decide
twenty twenty five starts like your guy. Says but two
Things Dan brero Fan line shout.

Speaker 2 (40:46):
Out he's.

Speaker 24 (40:47):
Been he likes to bloviate and kind of get under
our skin a little bit As minnesota. Fans but he
was right about two things that come to mind right.
Away number, One Julius randall running the point forward for The.
Wolves and number, two he's been on this the whole.
Time keep running the, wall he said. Earlier, no we're
averaging six point seven yards for. Carry we love it's
second or third and. SHORT i don't care if you're

(41:08):
going for. Them forth down the predictable nature on our
offense now is that we're gonna throw, it we're not
gonna run. It so even more, so it's it's in
our favor to run the ball. There and number two
some one of the most frustrating things that's been happening
over and over. Again when we have a when we're
trying to drive to take a, leader we're down and
it's late in the fourth or whatever the case they.
Be our hurry up offense is need some work because

(41:31):
there isn't a lot of hurry up that's. THERE i
don't understand Ron and what do you see when you
that over and over you if you remember, this it's
constantly it's they're not rushing back to the. Huddler they're
kind of in. Between we're gonna uddle or, Not but
there isn't just get up to the. Line i'll call the,
play let's.

Speaker 14 (41:47):
GO i.

Speaker 24 (41:48):
Don't it's so. FRUSTRATING i look back at my.

Speaker 3 (41:51):
Text with my.

Speaker 24 (41:51):
Buddies it, says where's the hurry? Up where's the hurry?
Up and it's constant throughout. Weeks SO i don't understand
where a hurry up offense how it lacks so badly
when there is no urgency. There it feels, like appreciate the,
time have a good.

Speaker 3 (42:03):
Night, hey thanks.

Speaker 4 (42:04):
Man first of, all total cosign in terms of running
the ball more, absolutely and that's EVEN i mean to
the standpoint of that third and, One, PHIL i simultaneously totally,
agree BUT i have no issue with him with them
taking that shot there with about the second, one But
i'm with the idea of the of the secondary.

Speaker 6 (42:22):
Option but what about the second. One the second one
was the other. Interception he ran the corner post or,
whatever and he just throws it the first.

Speaker 4 (42:32):
Pick the first, pick, well that was that was third
and five and five or, six and going down the
road of the decision, making that's where where we were
kind of going talking about some of these. Things it
was a terrible decision BY jj McCarthy to throw the,
ball who.

Speaker 3 (42:47):
Had a ton of real estate to work.

Speaker 4 (42:50):
WITH i think it's a ninety nine land of arbitrary percentages,
here ninety nine er percent chance he's able to move
the chains just by pulling the ball down and running.

Speaker 3 (43:02):
There SO i think that was an, oh he stepped
up in the.

Speaker 4 (43:05):
Pocket it was an awful, decision and there was there
was nothing in front of him for about twenty yards
except right around the sticks there was a linebacker who
was starting to turn, around so it would have been
a race to the to the. CHAINS i get. It,
terrible terrible decision of the first role.

Speaker 6 (43:20):
Should have been to the, pilot like it should have
been more away from the. Safety he kind of threw
it to the further. Outside further outside Led justin Because
justin had the corner beat and the safety was coming
over the. Top if he throws it, Straight justin might
have time to just run up under it and it's
a race to the to the end zone between him
and that.

Speaker 4 (43:39):
Safety wasn't a great throw and it just turns he
turned single coverage into double by throwing it, inside and it.

Speaker 3 (43:44):
Felt like he threw it short.

Speaker 6 (43:46):
TOO i don't know if because he was running up
to throw it like he was trying to throw it
like at a perfect, angle or if that's as far
as he can throw.

Speaker 4 (43:52):
It but to Answer andrew's, QUESTION i WANT i want
you to hit on this because he's also dead right about.
This one thing that went into last week that was
was awesome.

Speaker 3 (44:01):
Is you felt LIKE jj was getting to the line more.

Speaker 4 (44:05):
Quickly they were getting out of, huddles like the whole
operation was smooth last.

Speaker 3 (44:09):
Week today we got eight fall, starts kind of.

Speaker 4 (44:12):
Disastrous but specifically when they go, tempo it doesn't really
feel like they're going. Tempo do you see that at?
All ron things are just everything's a bit. Slower is
that raising the? Kid is there continued communication? Issues like
where's your head at with?

Speaker 7 (44:28):
That?

Speaker 3 (44:28):
Yeah so AGAIN i don't know if they're running tempo
at that.

Speaker 6 (44:31):
Point sometimes you just like if you Watch Peyton manning,
back you watch The rams do this, too and maybe
this is where what he's doing is not no huddle
or so it's not, tempo it's just no, huddle, okay
meaning they're just coming to the line of. Scrimmage the
receivers don't need to come. Back the offensive line is
just gonna get. There it's kind of a loose. Huddle
they get over the, ball and then it's giving him

(44:51):
because the coach can still talk to him up to fifteen.
Seconds so as long as he's not like lining up
and like give me the, ball the headset. On so
now he can kind of stay back away from the loose,
huddle away from the line getting, there away from the.
Receivers he get a little bit of A, hey this
is what you do? Here, boom all, right cut it.
Off now when he goes up, there he's able to
see for a longer period of time the.

Speaker 3 (45:13):
DEFENSE i think that's what he's trying to. DO i
think he's trying to see the. Defense.

Speaker 6 (45:17):
Again i'm just a fan of, like if you're gonna do,
that the play call needs to be a little bit
simpler because you're getting a simple. Defense so don't trick
yourself and, Think, okay they're gonna do some tricky Because
i'm going no temple or So i'm going up. Tempo,
yeah like they're gonna kind of go. Basic so then
take the basic, throws take the like whatever the defense
is showing, you it's. There it's not a. Trick BUT

(45:38):
i think that's what people have gotten. Into Like Brian
floores actually does try to trick, You SO i think
that's where that comes. From it's, like, well this is
our defense, coordinator or Do why would they do? It
because they don't think that. Way they're just telling their,
guys like you can see guys do the pump up
sign or. Something they tell them the, guys, hey back,
up getting the cover, two getting the cover, four getting
some we can manage and be ready for whatever they're

(45:58):
about to do to, us you, know kind of for
a minute, offense two minute offense type of. Idea that's
that's WHERE i think they're. At, LIKE i don't think
he was trying to Go. TEMPLE i think he's just
trying to give his quarterback time to see the coverage
and see the, rush like get the line of, scrimmage
let them tell you what they're gonna, do and then
call a. Play so, again maybe trying to get him
a little bit more within this. Playbook BUT i am

(46:19):
a fan of just straight up. Tempo just go, fast
just go, fast and then take you, know run a hitch,
run a slant, run, shallows you, know get your tight end.
Involved LIKE i just feel Like hockinson's not involved in
the offense at. All like it just it feels like
it's far and few, between very. Forgettable, YEAH i mean
really for the most part when the game, STARTED i,
like honestly like he hadn't done.

Speaker 3 (46:36):
Anything, man he had he had a couple of catches.

Speaker 4 (46:39):
Today what was the one was that on the final
drive where it's JUST i almost find myself going back
to like The Kyle Rudolph. Days i'm, like if you
just break one, tackle, yeah you're not asking for everything.

Speaker 3 (46:49):
Kind of, catches it just falls.

Speaker 4 (46:50):
Backwards, well i mean the defender was right on him,
too so's it's a little bit. Unfair but it's just you,
know just like make a move once in a while
ToJ could? You but we don't. See he's also not
getting a lot of. Work just two targets to two
catches in eight yards. Today let's do. This we'll pause
and we're going to continue on one more segment on
The Vikings Audio, network and then we'll continue on on
the via The flagship and then eventually there'll Be vikings

(47:13):
overtime With maxie And. Saucy as we continue the conversation
surrounding our favorite football. Team a couple of, interceptions weird
fumble on special, teams actually two, fumbles but one went
the wrong wrong, way one went the right. Way we
got thirteen penalties for one hundred and two yards awful
on third down today and The vikings lose twenty seven to.
Nineteen phone, lines good, talkbacks loaded text messages around the

(47:38):
corner With Ron Johnson domnordo from nine to Noon Vikings
Van line On kfan and The Minnesota Vikings Audio.

Speaker 1 (47:44):
Network your station for school IS fm one hundred point Three.
Kfan the fan.

Speaker 13 (47:58):
Fruits From minnesota bl point one point one started at
eleven forty.

Speaker 3 (48:06):
Five come sail, away come saying. Away Mark rosen made
that comment after the, Tayment i'd love to.

Speaker 4 (48:13):
Hear About kaj McCarthy's sale throws FROM nod And Ron
bruce From minnesota blood alcohol level point one one checking
in via the free talkback.

Speaker 3 (48:27):
Machine, uh let's. Listen how about this?

Speaker 6 (48:30):
One, hey this Is aaron at Leech.

Speaker 25 (48:33):
Lake, ron what a great take on the patients needed
for our, offense the patients for our, quarterback the patients
OF koc within the drives hull about, now the patients
that our defense and b flow has.

Speaker 3 (48:50):
Shown without, them we are two and seven easy this.
Season thanks, Guys, yeah thank.

Speaker 4 (48:58):
You thanks to the Talkback. Ron is there something to be?
Said so the third and one it's talking about it
ends in a? PICK jj trips the whole thing playing complimentary? Football,
now is there an element where it's like love the
love the sixty yard play like? Love Jalen naylor beautiful.
FACE i mean THAT'S jj had a pretty good. Game

(49:22):
inconsistencies abound a week ago At Ford, field and then
he had the opening drive today and then things got
a little. Walking he does find his way to the
end zone later With Jalen naylor speaking Of star of
The show. Today offensively for The vikings one hundred plus
yards in a, score but you love the sixty yard,
play beautiful fade FROM. Jj but the complementary aspect is

(49:48):
this sounds probably.

Speaker 3 (49:49):
Stupid you can tell me If i'm. Stupid it's, OKAY
i Know i'm.

Speaker 4 (49:51):
Stupid the complimentary nature of the of the game is
that to keep our offense fresh when they have to
deal With lamar And Derrick henry would be to produce
scoring drives that are longer than ninety. Seconds you know
WHAT i, Mean where there's an element where not every
play has to be the ninety yard.

Speaker 3 (50:12):
Shot it doesn't have to.

Speaker 4 (50:14):
Be the complementary nature of the offense will be producing
something that is, unpredictable is, efficient is, effective can certainly be,
explosive but maybe trying to hold onto the ball manage
that produce more plays on offense than your. Adversary those
sorts of things like that kind of has to factor
into the big mixing bowl that you're putting together that

(50:36):
creates the game plan for what you.

Speaker 3 (50:37):
SEE i, Mean so here's the.

Speaker 6 (50:39):
Thing the coach is what he, is, Right kevin's a great,
mind great offensive, mine great guy when it comes to
like getting, quarterbacks receivers, understanding here's the. Concept that's his.
Nature he's not going to change his, nature. Right, ever
can't change their, Strikes yeah they. Can't you, know you
can shave, them but they're there like it's not gonna you,

(51:03):
know you can't do. That so when you think about
how his offense is, called, honestly like we have to
just hope For Justin, johnson not the. Fall we have
to hope for the quarterback to maybe throw it to
where it's supposed to be.

Speaker 3 (51:14):
THROWN i would. Say the only addition to those, plays, right.

Speaker 6 (51:18):
You didn't want him to make that. Throw the place.
Didn't but here's the only Thing i'm gonna do is
WHEN i do WHEN i do the review this week
and look back at the place rons vim and watch
those two plays Because i've skipped it the last two
weeks because it's just been absolutely hectic with. Softball but
WHEN i get a chance to look at. Those the
only Thing i'm checking for is is there a second
route out? There normally with that type of like go

(51:39):
ball and Like i'm going for the, gusto there's got
to be. Options there's got to be an option. Too
if it's, not then it's kind of like you're Asking.

Speaker 3 (51:47):
Jaj McCarthy to do what he, did which, is, hey
just just throw.

Speaker 6 (51:50):
This, down like like he's got to have that conversation
in his head to say this is what we, want
this is the look we. Want now again that second,
ONE i can kind of, say, yeah Just jefson, tripped
it was, there you threw it. Up you gave him
a fifty to fifty. Ball that's what he's been acting.
For don't overthrow, me don't throw me, high give me
a fifty fifty.

Speaker 3 (52:06):
Ball let me go up and jump and do WHAT i.

Speaker 6 (52:07):
Do and you, know one hand it get up and
gritty it and all that, stuff. Right the other, one
that's the one when he stepped up and you're, right
just run the. Ball so that might come down TO qb.
One you, know For kevin O'Connor to look back and,
say hey, man you could have just run that. There
you knew, that, right third and, six you could have
got six. Yards like you're a pretty, dynamic you, know athletic,

(52:30):
quarterback Not Lamar. Jackson, no but you can, run you can.
Move we saw it in the screen. Pass you, know
made a couple of guys miss had a jump cut
like quarterback with a jump, Cut like he's. Athletic so
again that's just. Learning it's, like, HEY i called to
play for the home. Run you didn't have to take
it there because he had two guys back. THERE i
never said throw it if it's two guys back. There
the safety ran, Out so clearly he's going to play

(52:52):
over the top Of Justin. Jefferson that's not WHEN i
want you to throw, this you. Know but, Again keosy's
never going to go to the podium and go off and, say,
hey that one is on me or not sorry the
one Interception justin, failed the other one my quarterback shouldn't.
Through he's not gonna do.

Speaker 26 (53:04):
That you.

Speaker 6 (53:05):
Know his job is to protect the. Quarterback his job
is to take the. Arrows his job is to let
you tell him he should be. Patient he's getting paid
to do. That he's not fragile in. Mind you, know
you can't mess with the kid, like you can't do.

Speaker 3 (53:18):
That you can't throw under the.

Speaker 6 (53:19):
Bus you, know look at some of these college quarterbacks
that have thrown their team under the, bus their receivers
under the. Bus oh, yeah he shouldn't have run that.
ROUTE i wonder what IS i wonder what the locker
room looks like now with that. Quarterback, yeah you, know
like you can't say, that and so we can, write
we can, whin we can say all this stuff about be,
patient to be. THIS i guarantee there's probably some fundamental
stuff That jaj McCarthy did not do in those. Plays

(53:40):
that's WHY i want to go back and look and
see the entire play from THE all twenty two because
then you'll see maybe there was a little shallow that
was wide. Open maybe there was a little dump off
that was open because he ran through and nobody's covering
that guy. Anymore maybe he could have just run for
seven to. Two because you're saying the linebacker. Turned if
we do the, math that linebacker might actually be in
our minds we see THE, tv he might be seven

(54:02):
eight yards. Away when we actually look at, it, like,
dude you literally BECAUSE i outrun. Him you're a quarterback
he's a. Linebacker, no he absolutely needed to run.

Speaker 3 (54:09):
Him, yeah so that's What i'm.

Speaker 6 (54:10):
Saying so, like but but again the PATIENCE i go
back to more so is just the long developing. Routes
Justin jefferson twice had a post corner post and AND
jaj McCarthy couldn't throw it to. Him he had to
throw to somebody else when they run back in the
cover like the all they were up and they looked like.
Quarters they all ran back and and and he actually
made that Throw Justin. JEFFERSON i don't know if he

(54:31):
dropped it or hit him in the in the chest
a little, hard but they were up in like a quarter's.
Look the two safeties ran, back so clearly they're in two.

Speaker 3 (54:38):
Like the end zone.

Speaker 6 (54:39):
Shot, Yeah So Justin jefferson ran a post corner, post
so he ran like in like he's gonna run a
cover two corner. Routes so bound, out you go, in
you go. Up the next progression of that is go. Corner,
well he take one step to the corner and then
went back. Post he was. OPEN jj threw a.

Speaker 3 (54:54):
RIFLE i don't know if he dropped.

Speaker 6 (54:56):
It it went.

Speaker 4 (54:56):
RIGHT i saw the replay it went right through his. Hands,
okay because we couldn't, see like they weren't really you
know what they do this in the. Sum they don't
show bad. Stuff but it was a terrific ball by.
McCarthy see it wasn't all bad.

Speaker 3 (55:07):
Today by the. Way McCarthy made several terrific.

Speaker 4 (55:09):
THROWS i think that the defender slaps that out of
his hands even if he catches it justice right after
the safety just absolutely just strafes the bleep out of his.
Hand SO i for him to hang on to that
would have been an Impressive but then.

Speaker 3 (55:23):
There was another the same play they ran to going
the other.

Speaker 6 (55:25):
Way it wasn't it was coming out like they were
maybe on the forty of their own headed the other.
Way they ran the same. Play but Justin, jeff if
he just hooks up at fifteen, yards he's wide open
because nobody's covering. Them they're waiting for him to do
something else because they're, like, look it's play. Action he's
not going to run something simple and play. Action, yeah
every once in a, while play. Action just in your,
head it's a, clock so you do play actually turn,

(55:47):
around you just throw it right. Now because everybody's thinking play.
Action let's scatter because it's not a. Run they're not
running to go cover. Somebody they're running to get to their.
Zone so, again that's the little stuff that THE i, mean,
honestly The. LIONS i hate to bring them, up but
that's What Jared goff does his. Play he's coming back
to somebody just sitting there in the middle of the.
Field like every time it's not to. GO i, mean
you will go, deep but most of the time is.

(56:07):
THIS i just want you to run out of there
and Think i'm going deep And i'm gonna throw a,
Hook i'm gonna throw a, Curl i'm gonna throw a,
dig and then we're all sitting back, like, man this
jerke off is sixteen for sixteen because he's got Simple,
Please they're really.

Speaker 4 (56:17):
Simple, well and it's simple too because they have a
terrific run game they. Do they lose at a high
level running. Back, hey for those of you before we,
pause you're looking for growth moments for the KID qb
who threw a touchdown today had two. Interceptions we didn't like,
that but how about this his first game At Soldier,

(56:37):
field he was sacked three. Times the next week against
The falcons sacked six times last, week albeit in a.
Victory he was sacked five, times fourteen sacks in three
Games ron today just one, sack just one sack FOR jj.
McCarthy so maybe he threw it to the other.

Speaker 3 (56:57):
Team maybe he threw it ten yards Over addison's. Head
but he only took one.

Speaker 6 (57:01):
Sack he got, free he got, Today he took a step,
today he, did he got. Free he made some guys,
miss he got out of the. Grasp, yeah of some.
Guys so, Yeah so next week he threw it.

Speaker 4 (57:12):
Away next week's lesson is to keep it within five
Yards Jordan addison in the back of the end.

Speaker 3 (57:18):
Zone and maybe don't throw it to the other team at.

Speaker 4 (57:22):
All let's just play a clean, game how about, That
so minimal, sacks try to be a little more, accurate
don't throw it to the other. Team actually a lot
feels like the team is going to be three and
o on the division a week from. Today but we
got time to Tell we got all week to talk
about The. Bears at this, point we are going to

Speaker 3 (01:00:29):
Want to hear some. Talkbacks how about These hey.

Speaker 27 (01:00:33):
GUYS i hate to talk bad About Justin, jefferson but
what was up with his ambition? Today should have caught
that touchdown those two passes that were picked, Off he
just sat there like it was a incomplete, pass didn't
try to make a.

Speaker 3 (01:00:49):
Tackle look like a bad day For.

Speaker 4 (01:00:52):
Jefferson, WELL i appreciate the talkback free iHeartRadio app hit that,
microphone give us up to your best thirty. SECONDS i
don't know what you, Think Ron, WELL i kind of
know what you. Think you probably thinks similar to me
that when he falls down in The humphrey. INTERCEPTION i,
mean there's really nothing you can do on the first.
Interception he knew he touched. Him he was down by.

Speaker 3 (01:01:12):
Content he was even pointing like he was, walking like
what are y'all? Doing let the.

Speaker 4 (01:01:16):
Rookie let the rookie run around like an idiot for sixty.

Speaker 3 (01:01:19):
Yards that's. FINE i touched. Him he's down and but
but we did.

Speaker 4 (01:01:23):
Talk would have liked to see him catch that catch
that ball, there despite the fact the safety came. IN i,
mean that's a tough. Spot, Ron ron is you know
how MUCH i? Saw whether it was A i can't.
REMEMBER i think there was a text message let me
find it. Here uh that end zone ball To jets
was a hospital ball alligator? Arms is that how you
look at? IT i thought it was perfectly placed because it.

(01:01:44):
Was it was it was low enough where the safety
is able to get his arm in, there, Certainly BUT
i DID i didn't feel like that you were Putting
jefferson in a.

Speaker 3 (01:01:52):
Spot when he was going to get.

Speaker 6 (01:01:54):
Hit, yeah hit his. Body that's WHY i. THOUGHT i
MEAN i couldn't. See he's like, again we're in the press,
box so we can see. It but eating popcorn like
you have been for most of the, fans like popcorn
is the stuff like that is the hill.

Speaker 3 (01:02:06):
Is clean about? Her you spilling are you one of
the guys like.

Speaker 6 (01:02:10):
Ammaculate, yeah like, YEAH i don't eat like meat.

Speaker 4 (01:02:14):
Sauce yeah, yeah you're not like the power trap morning
now and they just lay waste to.

Speaker 6 (01:02:18):
THIS i take a couple of Little, SEE i don't
do the whole. Handful my wife already gets told me about.
That SO i do the one one of two. Kernels,
yeah just one or two.

Speaker 3 (01:02:24):
Kernels just.

Speaker 6 (01:02:25):
Sack keep your stomach nice and good to. Go and
you know same at the. STADIUM i don't eat all
the press box food and all that BECAUSE i don't
want to gain. Weight LIKE i like Where i'm at right,
now two thirty, five nice and. Slim you, KNOW i
can play. Basketball they're ready to. Play stay, ready you,
know you never. Know but, no so looking At Justin,
jefferson what he was bracketed a ton to, day like
they kept the safety over the, top they kept a linebacker,

(01:02:47):
underneath like they were not gonna Let Justin jefferson beat.
Them that's Why Jalen naylor honestly was so open most
of the, time like they were willing like that that
go ball to start. It they're all Watching Justin, jefferson you,
know like they're not even one of the times WHERE
i forgot what, happened but you could see one of
the linebackers look.

Speaker 3 (01:03:04):
Over at all the guys like what are y'all? Doing
like who did who had?

Speaker 6 (01:03:07):
Him you, know like they're not they were not gonna
Let Justin jefferson beat them like that was their. Goal they're, like,
look Let hawkinson Let. Naylor you, know their coach is
probably not thinking, like, okay we gotta Stop Jailen. Naylor
like you come into this game like Wherever justin, goes
we're not going to give him single man if we
don't have. To let's keep a safety over the, Top
let's keep a guy. Underneath let's keep a spy to
watch him run the out. Route you, know that's why

(01:03:28):
they Were they were willing to give up a six
year old. Out but that's why say be, Patient just
kill him with a thousand, cuts give, them give, them
give them a, hitch give him an, out give them a,
slant like if that's what they're gonna give, them because
they were giving it to. Him if he ran a
slant or just a curl or, hitch he's wide open
because the back they don't want the dagger because they Know,
Kevin kevin O'Connell is a dagger. Coach he wants to dagger.

(01:03:48):
You this is one of those games where you gotta
throw little like you can't throw a nuke in. There
you gotta just throw a little babes and here's, one here's.
Two you, know those snaps on.

Speaker 4 (01:03:57):
Fire for such a broad spectrum from nukes to bbis
that's what You it's maybe even something in the middle
like a.

Speaker 6 (01:04:04):
Scud, nope is either nukem all or you just gonna
throw a little, snack just a little, Rock, yeah, yeah
just a little, rock, slingshot little.

Speaker 3 (01:04:12):
Pebble all, right free talkback.

Speaker 28 (01:04:14):
Machine hey, Guys brad From Mendota, Heights, hey can we
please GIVE jj McCartney one year to? Develop just? ONE i,
mean look, What look at the Turnaround drake may has gone.
Through he's having a heck of a year after a
dismal first. Season you have to remember JJ's had four.
Games Tom brady has More Super bowls than JJ's played

(01:04:37):
in THE. Nfl let's just give show a little, patience
give him some grace and watch them.

Speaker 3 (01:04:42):
Develop, thanks all, RIGHT i? Agree what's?

Speaker 4 (01:04:46):
Up?

Speaker 29 (01:04:46):
Guys haven't heard any postgame, reactions But i'm pretty sure
a lot of people are gonna be frustrated WITH jj.

Speaker 11 (01:04:51):
McCarthy we just need to.

Speaker 29 (01:04:52):
Chill looking At Lamar jackson's first four, games thirteen of
nineteen for one hundred and fifty yards one, pick fourteen
of twenty five for one hundred and seventy eight yards
ONE td two, picks twelve of twenty one for one
hundred and twenty five, yards no td, is no, picks
thirteen of twenty four twenty four for one hundred and
forty seven yards.

Speaker 11 (01:05:10):
Two, tds no.

Speaker 29 (01:05:11):
Picks, Relax it'll be.

Speaker 4 (01:05:13):
Okay, Relax, Relax, Yeah Drake. May going back to the
first Talkbacker, BRAD i think it Was Drake may was
like three and nine last year and he kind of
kind of sat through this sea.

Speaker 3 (01:05:27):
Two that's where this continuing to goes.

Speaker 4 (01:05:29):
ON i feel LIKE i feel like a broken, record
where a lot of this is expectations off of winning
fourteen games a year, ago and in some ways kind
of the team themselves setting it up like, hey we're
rolling with number, nine and we have this roster that
is so, good we believe in it to such a,
degree we're going to contend for THE Nfc north while

(01:05:50):
raising this kid on the, fly Whereas Drake may rolls in.
There last, year they knew they were a bad, team
they knew that they were going. Nowhere so in some,
ways the most exciting thing on a game day as
A patriots fan a year ago was When Drake may
didn't throw it to the other, team when he made
that right, decision when he made that nice, Play AND

(01:06:12):
i JUST i just wonder how long we keep gripping
onto that idea before maybe at some point we just
have to, say, yeah the final eight games of the,
SEASON i hope we win six and. Two but at
the end of the, day CAN i see steps with
THE qb in this particular. Case SO i feel, like you,
know the inconsistencies remain and, persist and we're still kind

(01:06:34):
of we're still trying to grasp at the idea of,
contention WHICH i WHICH i feel, like, again as many
things went wrong, today you, know the thirteen, penalties the
the undisciplined nature of this, team maybe that's the most
frustrating part of the. Game they did get the ball
back with time to potentially tie this thing. Up, yeah
it's just had to kick up. TWO i mean go
for a. Version but, yeah well because they. Did they

(01:06:55):
went for the first time and they didn't get. It but,
YEAH i, mean but here's the thing that so you
hate THAT i, DO i really. Do but the play right,
Here so for those that are at, HOME i don't
know if anybody can, watch but The lions versus The
commanders right the last two play action, plays watch this
Route nordal play.

Speaker 3 (01:07:11):
Action both safeties.

Speaker 6 (01:07:12):
Get, out just run across the See i'm saying like
the safety is waiting for you to run. Deep the
safeties waiting for you super eazy because they're gonna back.
Off in play, action it was the same exact Coverage cover.
Two i'm pretty sure they Know jameis And williams is,
fast so they're they're backing. Up you gotta respect the,
space they gotta respect the. Speed they gotta respect the gold.
Ball so make it look like you want to run

(01:07:33):
some type of corner deep and they just break it
off twenty yards twelve yard. Dig it's the middle of
the field is wide. Open he's done that. Twice he
ran a dig and he ran a comeback the other.
Time before, this all of them men and Jameson wis
And James wims. Again look at that dig here out
to look at the same, thing same. Play he ran a,
comeback did you? Ever, no, Never i'm too big for
that was two hundred and thirty. Pounds you kill?

Speaker 4 (01:07:55):
Myself well you just handed the ball to the raft, too,
Right i'm pretty.

Speaker 6 (01:07:58):
Sure, YEAH i MEAN i did. DANCER i did some
stupid dances, Before LIKE i look back on it and
it's one of those where LIKE i called one against The,
BENGALS i called it the wet pants.

Speaker 3 (01:08:08):
DANCE i don't know.

Speaker 6 (01:08:09):
Why it was so, Stupid like imagine when you're a
kid and you slide in the, water right and your
pants are, wet, Ye, like how would you? Dance your
legs are gonna be, stiff your knees don't, bend so
you're trying to walk like with stiff, Legs and SO
i called it the wet Pants it was so. STUPID
i was so mad at myself WHEN i got to
the bench and because everybody was talking about it and
they were, like, oh is that the wet pants? Dance
and then, like As i'm older, Now i'm, like that

(01:08:30):
was the dumbest thing. Ever BUT i thought it was
cool at the.

Speaker 4 (01:08:33):
Time you had you had thirty some touchdowns in your
time at ye at the year, correct, Yep so, no
we couldn't dance back then we got a. Flag that's
What i'm, Curious, like you didn't go in with like
any sort of.

Speaker 3 (01:08:44):
No, no, NO i did.

Speaker 6 (01:08:46):
It did The Charles woodson thing a couple of, times
like you, know he used to do the, like you,
know don't touch, me you, Know SO i did that
a couple of.

Speaker 3 (01:08:52):
Times, yeah that was.

Speaker 6 (01:08:54):
IT i didn't REALLY i did a little stupid jump
against The Ohio state. Game it looks so dumb now
WHEN i see it replay that CATCH i made On Nate,
Clemens LIKE i don't know WHAT i was overdre. Doing
it looks LIKE i was like the beginning of one
of THOSE tv shows back in the, day like we're
gonna do. It there's nothing we won't. Try like my
jump was so, Dumb like it was the dumbest jump.

(01:09:15):
EVER i looked at. Mysel, YEAH i was just mad at.
Myself oh That's.

Speaker 3 (01:09:18):
Ron, johnson.

Speaker 4 (01:09:19):
OBNORDO a couple of we're gonna have a couple of
truncated segments here and then we're gonna pass the baton
To sascy And Max. Fuller It's vikings fan line twenty,
nine twenty, eight twenty, seven nineteen.

Speaker 3 (01:09:30):

Speaker 3 (01:10:27):

Speaker 31 (01:10:42):
Hirston Gold minnesota scoreless nine to fifty to go in
the first. Quarter pirston goal from the for McCarthy goes under.
CENTER a couple of receiving options Left hawkinson emotion to
the right hand Off Aaron jones to.

Speaker 12 (01:10:54):
The left to the. Zone time In minnesota has a
six zero.

Speaker 3 (01:11:04):
Lead Aaron.

Speaker 4 (01:11:06):
JONES i believe that's his first rushing touchdown of the.
Season he had the receiving Score week one in The bears.
Game do you think if do you think if he
had not scored That ko would have thrown it.

Speaker 3 (01:11:18):
Uh on second and third.

Speaker 6 (01:11:20):
DOWN i don't, know he might Would woul probably would
have want a play action deep ball to the to
the stands.

Speaker 3 (01:11:27):
At the four yard. Line, okay just go stand in the.
Stands that.

Speaker 6 (01:11:30):
Dry it was funny. Thought the cool thing about THAT
i don't. LIKE i don't know if they showed it ON.
Tv his family was still on the field from when
they got. Honored you, know they did the slot, service
so family came. Out they were still like down there
earlier too when he. Scored so that was, like, actually,
yeah so like they showed their, reactions were they on
that end of the. Field, no they were in the
tunnel on the other side with the. Horn had been

(01:11:51):
so cool if he scored and Then rando's family right. There, yeah, yeah,
no but they showed the reaction on the jumbo. Tron
it was it was kind of cool because, like you,
know what's the chances he's a running touchdown and the
family's down in the tunnel waiting or, something you, know
like it was it was a cool. Moment but then
him trying to climb up. There you, know like maybe
the stadium needs to cut a little spot out for
him to jump into the, stands put like maybe a

(01:12:14):
little step ladder something just in case that was a
high that's a high, jump and he's like hanging on one.

Speaker 3 (01:12:18):
Arm you, know it's just, yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:12:20):
Uh that play was part of a drive seven, plays
eighty six. Yards the touchdown meant the, most of, Course
but how about this play to Nale.

Speaker 31 (01:12:28):
Gala williams this Year. Minnesota one of one on the bird,
down two receivers, right three, left empty, Backfield Mike marthy
wearing the, nine facing a four man. Rush he's gonna
fade left.

Speaker 7 (01:12:37):
To Dalen naylor cut at.

Speaker 3 (01:12:39):
The forty ben all right and blue a tackle step
on By nailer at the Thirty bullis to his money
woos to the.

Speaker 8 (01:12:46):
Ten down at the, Five.

Speaker 12 (01:12:50):
Hey sixty two yard touch and run by The Stadi Daalen.

Speaker 3 (01:12:55):
Naylor what terrific work on the High life By. Halvey
there's no doubt about.

Speaker 4 (01:13:01):
That but that was an awesome, connection beautiful fade from
mister McCarthy to Mister.

Speaker 3 (01:13:07):
Naylor naylor star of the.

Speaker 4 (01:13:08):
Show five catches a buck twenty four on the, day
had a touchdown later, on but thank you to our
Local chevy dealers for bringing you the drive of the.
Game seven, plays eighty six yards and a score that
put The vikings in front seven. Nothing sadly the lead
would be for Not we're gonna, pause come back another.
Shorty we'll Bring saucy in and just do a little.

(01:13:29):
Handoff final segment Of Vikings Fan Line fan and The
Fan Radio.

Speaker 17 (01:13:33):
Network, Hey i'd love to show you.

Speaker 32 (01:13:42):
Know there are teams that we all know that find
ways to, win and there are teams that find ways to.
Lose and, unfortunately our Beloved purple this year has become the.
Latter they find ways to lose, penalties.

Speaker 22 (01:13:57):
Turn and, overs dropped.

Speaker 12 (01:13:58):
Passes it's a.

Speaker 6 (01:14:00):
Bummer but that's where we are right.

Speaker 4 (01:14:02):
Now, hey thanks for all the talkbacks and text messages and.
Calls final segment vikings fan line before we toss it
over To Max fuller and meets Us Paul, lambert who's
in the studio now With Ron.

Speaker 3 (01:14:14):
Johnson I'm nordo from nine to. NOON i, saucy it
was an undisciplined mess. Today what do you?

Speaker 26 (01:14:19):
Think, WELL i was just saying to you off the,
air both of, you that's a winnable.

Speaker 3 (01:14:23):
Game, well we were listening to The donald at The
washington that's a Winnable you mean the future name of
their future.

Speaker 26 (01:14:31):
Stadium they that's a winnable. Game that's ALL i have to.
Say you can't have what was it eight false? Starts,
YEAH i think the most by a home. TEAM i
think that was a RECORD i. Saw Maybe i'll have
to double. Check that sounds like you can't have. That
you can't have the THE i, know LIKE i have
to go back and watch. It but, like Did jefferson

(01:14:53):
trip like that deep? Ball that was a WEIRD i
knows what happens with. That maybe he knocks it. Down
but another one was just kind of loft it up.

Speaker 3 (01:15:04):
There bad. Pass, YEAH i THINK i. Don't it's not
over for the. Kid he's.

Speaker 26 (01:15:13):
Young there's you, know there were he had some good,
plays but we have to find out why he's And.

Speaker 3 (01:15:20):
Ron, said off the arts because of his arm.

Speaker 26 (01:15:22):
Angle but he he as they said last week and
As pa said it, today during the, game he's got
to not every not every ball needs to be driver
off the deck for a golf, reference.

Speaker 3 (01:15:34):
Correct not every ball needs.

Speaker 26 (01:15:36):
To be smashed up the gut for three hundred and
forty yards down the.

Speaker 3 (01:15:41):
Fairway you gotta lost some of, these you gotta he.

Speaker 26 (01:15:44):
Has it's either it's either the fastball or it's or
it's the saled, ball you, know way outside kind of. Bid,
yeah and that's Gotta they got to work on. That
whether that's something you hope they can. Correct but you,
know then you get into THE a lot of THINGS
i saw were, correctible and The ponder, Bit i'm not
comparing him To ponder baits a little bit of.

Speaker 3 (01:16:03):
That it's just it's a weird. Game that's a winnable.

Speaker 26 (01:16:06):
Game like when when the plays were scripted he was
outstanding then THEY i, MEAN i THINK.

Speaker 3 (01:16:12):
I wrote it down right. Here we'll talk about it in.

Speaker 26 (01:16:14):
Overtime here he started the game seven and nine, outstanding
finished at thirteen of thirty. Three you can yell about
the play. Calling you can yell about some of the
why are we running deep passing plays on third and
one when they're.

Speaker 6 (01:16:30):
Just want to see that play? Action play? Though, again
what was that play? Action right?

Speaker 3 (01:16:34):
Underneath dig? Underneath shall round To Jameson. Williams, yeah with
the third, One, yeah you.

Speaker 6 (01:16:38):
DON'T i, mean look at, this they drawn it up play.

Speaker 3 (01:16:40):
Action what?

Speaker 6 (01:16:41):
Happens everybody drops, back everybody's lost, linebash.

Speaker 3 (01:16:44):
They're looking for. That he's always got somebody over the.

Speaker 6 (01:16:46):
Middle it's always deep though with, Him like SO i
don't know if that's his first read or second. READ
i also want to, say, like Whenever sauce is in,
here LIKE i always feel, like, Okay i'm on k fan,
Now like it's always fun to have, saucing. MAN i
appreciate it feels like it's it was, like hey, Fan
but to his point, right using a baseball reference for
those that love otany and watch The dodgers just absolutely

(01:17:07):
run through The Blue. Jays, yeah as a, pitcher he's
the quarterback RIGHT o two. Count you don't throw a
fastball down the. Middle you. Don't you throw something off,
Speed and that's what's. Happening LIKE i, SAID i joke
about the no, look but it's not hard to. Do
like it's not really no, looking you're not Truly patrick
Mahomings patrick mahomes a bit. Right you just kind of like.

(01:17:29):
Peripherally look at the. GUY i know he's running the
SHALLOW i know because like The addison shallow. Right he
throws it and got back to. Down if he just
kind of peeks to the, left it looks At. Hockinson
but his eye is actually because when the helmet, moves
they can't see your.

Speaker 3 (01:17:43):
Eyes they're looking at your helmet.

Speaker 6 (01:17:44):
Tilt when the face max, tilts his eye can still
be to the right and just nice little change. Up
just Let addison run under. It that guy doesn't jump
like that because it's not like a. Hardball his arm
is a hardball throw and that's why guys are jumping
batting it down. Today and his angle is LIKE i,
MEAN i think the first caller or second caller said.
It it looks like a side arm. Throw you, know

(01:18:04):
he's trying to throw it around the guy's arm versus
Like Lamar jackson numerous times just lofted it right Over
Van ginkel Or grenard Or redmant whoever was coming after.
Him AND i think he winds up a little bit,
Too lamar no J, yeah that's his throw, though that's
His like if YOU i don't, know if you've ever
seen when they draw at the, quarterback they do like
the arm line. Thing they say, like, oh look at this,

(01:18:25):
line this is how it should. Be, yeah they did
that with McCarthy from, college like they've shown that. Before
that's his. Motion i'm not that's hard to. Change the
only thing you can change is you can do. It
but then where does it, Finish like get it, up
get the elbow up above the shoulder or a parallel
to the, shoulder you can't be down and then trying
to sling it Like Carson, wentz you, know like That's

(01:18:45):
Carson wentz's throw, Too But Carson wentz is normally doing
it when he's throwing it out to the out routes
and to the, Side SO i think the kid can
get it. DONE i just, think you, know it's going
to require more film For kevin o'cader to fix, them
because he's a qbit. WHISPER i mean he, is, like
we can't deny that he finds ways to make quarterbacks,
better but you can't do it without. Time and that's

(01:19:06):
what everybody wants it to be right. Now it's not
going to be right. Now he needs.

Speaker 3 (01:19:09):
Time he needs.

Speaker 4 (01:19:10):
Time thank, You thank, You, Ron Thank yousausium's on the touchdown.

Speaker 3 (01:19:15):
Again probably it's time for you to sit in this.
Seat can't. Wait Jamison williams legacy.

Speaker 4 (01:19:20):
Game by the, way he leads the team in catches right,
now he's got a score on Now.

Speaker 3 (01:19:25):
Gibbs i'll just hand it.

Speaker 4 (01:19:26):
OFF i Need gibbs to get another touchdown just so
THAT i can absolutely rub it in on a Buddy,
luke WHO i am just lamb based in in, fantasy
but no one cares about.

Speaker 3 (01:19:35):
That they care about.

Speaker 4 (01:19:35):
Reality thank you so much for listening to fan line
For Ron johnson.

Speaker 9 (01:19:39):

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
