Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hey, Mary, Christmas supper forth, here we go Forest. My
lucky Number's gonna be a good day.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
They're over there watching magic tricks right now.
Speaker 1 (00:14):
I don't blame them, so I'll tell you listening something
some I'm sure you heard, but in case you didn't,
Blake Cashman was almost pe A yesterday we were down
at Shields. He talked about loving being back in Minnesota.
Speaker 3 (00:32):
This is probably the most fun I've had playing football
since I was just down the road playing at Eden
Ferry High School. Because we have a great group of
people in that building. Obviously, we're winning, so that helps,
but you know, just the relationships, the camaraderie we have,
it's it's special. And I feel like, you know, fans
in the media and people from the outside are seeing that.
Just how we play on Sundays, you're able to see
(00:55):
the joy and excitement that this team has playing together.
Speaker 1 (00:59):
If you took a picture Blake Cashman standing like in
the locker room after game without a shirt on, and
printed it out in black and white, you could tell
somebody was from nineteen forty eight and you'd believe it.
He looks like an old school tough guy. Oh yeah,
might have just gotten out of a bare knuckle fight
with somebody love that guy.
Speaker 4 (01:19):
Show that we should ask Gergy what I said a
couple of weeks in the show about Cashman.
Speaker 5 (01:24):
I don't watch goph football super.
Speaker 4 (01:26):
Closely, right, kind of background noise, and I follow it
a little bit, right.
Speaker 5 (01:32):
I knew he was one of the better players when
he was here. Did he dominate? Was Cashman like an
unstoppable force? Didn't know the whole thing has been.
Speaker 6 (01:42):
Because he he did one of my Mystic Lake shows
and we talked.
Speaker 7 (01:45):
We talked about that Wayne Bloomer a little bit or
a complete late bloomer. Some of us are, yeah, still waiting.
So what did he say in what place? Sports wise?
Chris like otherwise you know, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (01:59):
Did he have him ament know where he's like that
something clicked or he felt like he.
Speaker 6 (02:02):
Took No, he didn't really say like, oh, this was
like the pinnacle moment, Like I knew that this was
going to happen. And I think that he just he
just knew that he just had to keep keep progressing.
Speaker 5 (02:14):
And and then.
Speaker 6 (02:15):
Even when even when he even when he his first
few years in league, he really didn't get a chance
to really showcase himself because he was injured. He was
injured like two or three different times, and it really
was the time that he got to Houston. That's kind
of when he said things, just like all of a
sudden kind of fell into place because he was healthy.
Speaker 4 (02:35):
Pretty sweet man, Van ginkel Grenard Cashman. Yeah, all kind
of worked.
Speaker 1 (02:42):
It's all work and a quarterback, I mean, pretty good
office for our front office.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
Well done, very good, well done everybody.
Speaker 5 (02:49):
Ten and two another weird drafts so far.
Speaker 1 (02:52):
But still and I'm going to say it right now,
you guys ready for this. I'm gonna go on a limb. No,
I'm not putting money on it. I don't feel that
good about it. Okay, Green Bay is going to be
Detroit tomorrow, and they're so beat up on defense, so.
Speaker 8 (03:02):
Beat up, it is surprising that the spread is so low.
Still three and a half, right, I.
Speaker 1 (03:07):
Think so as of last night it was and sent Detroit, right, Yeah, yeah,
that's nearly even.
Speaker 4 (03:12):
That's crazy. And the over under is fifty one. Why
do I feel like it's going to go way over that?
That's a high number. But still those two teams can
both score.
Speaker 5 (03:20):
Wait, you won't bet it.
Speaker 1 (03:21):
No, I don't feel that good about it, but I
do have a hankering to bet.
Speaker 8 (03:24):
I have a feeling all right, Well, if you want
to continue that hankering.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
Yeah, no, I'm opens right now. So you have to
be careful. How many I've won, like nine of my
last twelve bets or something like.
Speaker 5 (03:34):
Oh, well you want me nine hundred bucks.
Speaker 4 (03:36):
Also, Tommy paid a sauce and on yesterday one hundred
dollars each because Ethan Kelly Acmannus did not win Big
ten Off.
Speaker 3 (03:42):
Of the year.
Speaker 4 (03:43):
What so powercher Bets posts that that we won, and
Tommy paid immediately right fast fans, my friends make a
fast pay.
Speaker 5 (03:51):
He paid immediately, which is awesome. What a mess.
Speaker 4 (03:54):
And then Knzimius and others on Twitter, we're like, well, whoa,
he still got another year of eligibility. He could win
it next year. And all of us are like, okay,
so how about we just keep the money? Yeah, if
Ethan wins it next year, I will give Tommy back
the hundred and another one hundred, But otherwise, let's just
keep the money.
Speaker 5 (04:11):
Yeah, we'll hold on to it. We're gonna hold on
to it for the time. Hang on to it. Yeah,
and yes to somebody who said this on Twitter. If
Athan CALLIAKMNUS wins Big Ten Offensive Player.
Speaker 4 (04:20):
Of the Year next year, I'll give Tommy the hundred back.
I'll give Tommy the hundred then that he wins, right.
Speaker 5 (04:26):
So two hundred wins five hundred. Oh is it really fine?
Speaker 4 (04:29):
Five hundred and I'll pay him whatever the interest would
be from a standard bank for twelve months, right, he
can have all of that.
Speaker 3 (04:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (04:37):
If Ethan calliak Mans says Big ten Player of the
Year Offensive the next people are like, he's got one year,
have a hundred years, He's never going to win it.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
That ninety ninth year might be his magic.
Speaker 4 (04:49):
Yeah, yeah, but yeah, shout out to Tommy for paying
that fast.
Speaker 5 (04:54):
It was almost immediately.
Speaker 8 (04:55):
And then Trip Betts also wrote in that same tweet,
you can bank all the money. Put all the money
you want in the bank, because you're gonna have to
pay them again when he isn't drafted.
Speaker 5 (05:05):
Basic true.
Speaker 8 (05:06):
Yeah, this is Cafe in News with Chris Hockey presented
by Carbonies.
Speaker 5 (05:14):
Thanks Carbonies. That's cool because I.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
Thought Zach was doing that live, but his face wasn't moving.
Then I realized I'd heard it yesterday too presented by carbonies.
Speaker 4 (05:24):
They drop all all the pizzas on Sunday right for
Vikings football Sunday Sunday.
Speaker 5 (05:28):
And not just pizza.
Speaker 1 (05:29):
Sometimes some cheesy bread is the best.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
It's the best.
Speaker 1 (05:32):
It's very cheesy. Don't forget the cheese. Hey man, speak
of that, Ben, I don't want. I gotta do a
couple of news stories, but then I gotta talk to you.
I got a real problem.
Speaker 5 (05:42):
What's wrong?
Speaker 1 (05:42):
I got a real problem? Is again, no, but it
is related to that suck.
Speaker 5 (05:47):
You got a butt problem? Is that the opposite?
Speaker 1 (05:50):
And no, I wish it were I could use I
could use a good flowing you know what I mean. Now,
you encouraged me to buy something and start consuming it,
and I just can't do it. And I need you
to talk me into it because everything I read about
it is that it's brilliant. But I just can't consume
something that I know. It is literally nose to tail
(06:13):
or what do they call it?
Speaker 2 (06:15):
Is that what they call it?
Speaker 5 (06:15):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (06:16):
Yeah, this protein powdered corey.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
It says on the package as you're about to buy it,
it's got heart, bone, blood.
Speaker 5 (06:25):
Just kill me, That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
I mean, of course you don't.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
Then everybody in every review says, but the review actually
says it says, so.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
Good, you forget what you're consuming.
Speaker 5 (06:35):
And I'm like, I don't think I can. But isn't
that why people eat hot dogs? You can't. You can't
think exactly know.
Speaker 1 (06:43):
I need to buy it because everybody's like, this is
the bitch.
Speaker 6 (06:47):
Yeah review, I think they really enjoy that, just right,
this is the bitch.
Speaker 2 (06:55):
Five stars? What's it called again? I'm gonna buy it.
I'm afraid of it. Noble, noble, and it's it's better
than any other kind.
Speaker 6 (07:03):
Noble protein powder. This is the bitch. I mean, I
don't know if it's better than I enjoy it because
it is. It's like everything that you want. It's not
just the protein. It's like all the other all the
other bits and pieces and vitamins and minerals.
Speaker 5 (07:17):
Bits and pieces. There's just a little kid fight, a
little bit of a snout in there.
Speaker 1 (07:24):
But that's I'm gonna like, have a testical content.
Speaker 4 (07:30):
Is any of it human? It's all animal. It's all cow,
you know, to my knowledge, it's all bovine. Fantastic. I
don't think it's homo Sapien whoa well, they like what
they like.
Speaker 2 (07:40):
Listen, Corey, can I read to you what it says?
Speaker 5 (07:44):
May I go for it? Mm hmmm?
Speaker 2 (07:49):
Where's that?
Speaker 1 (07:50):
No, damn it, there's a I had. I was reading
it last night and they had a real good breakdown
of what's in it.
Speaker 6 (07:59):
You know, speaking of testicles, you know you can buy
you can buy ground beef. You can grab you can
you can buy ground beef that has testicles blended into it.
Human No, no, no, there are there are. There are
companies where you can get sort of this this primal
(08:19):
this primal blend where you get the organ meats, you
get organ meats and all this stuff in the ground meat.
Speaker 5 (08:26):
So uh yeah, you can. You can get your charge
the good stuff and that.
Speaker 4 (08:31):
And this is our little faith Chris and I both
have in you. And Chris is not willing to even
buy this protein powter. But both of us have asked
you in the last two minutes, is there human remains
in any of these things that you're trying to push
on us, because we just don't believe you, Corey.
Speaker 1 (08:44):
Oh gross, listeners, here's the ingredients. This is the news.
By the way, Thank you Carbonies. Carbonies doesn't have any
of the chocolate, which I'm a vanilla because I would
buy the vanilla.
Speaker 4 (09:01):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, that sounds lovely. Fantastic stars start vanilla, grass.
Speaker 1 (09:07):
Fed beef, protein isolate, fine nose to tail, organ blend
including bovine heart, bovine liver, bovine kidney, bovine spleen, bovine pancreas,
bovine blood, bovine bone, bovine marrow, and colostrum. Now I
(09:32):
wasn't aware what that is. Do you know what was?
Do you know what it is?
Speaker 5 (09:36):
Colostrum is like a superfood.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
Colostrum is the milk from the teet of a new mom.
Speaker 6 (09:44):
It's it's the it's so even even in humans. It's
like the very first few ounces that come out.
Speaker 1 (09:51):
Yeah, when the child said that's mad, that's the froth
on the top of the Yes, exactly, yes, copyrights Calverson.
Speaker 4 (10:00):
I believe colostroom is also playing the film more on Tuesday,
better than bovine blood.
Speaker 8 (10:07):
No, bovine bloods playing playing the colostrum, famous famous closter.
Speaker 1 (10:18):
And then it's got cocoa powder and so you know.
Speaker 5 (10:20):
You don't taste you don't taste any of that stuff.
Speaker 4 (10:23):
So all right, maybe all this works, maybe it's a
game changer. I still like somebody said, what if we
just blend this son of a bitch up and put
it in powder and see if it helps? Somebody will
buy it.
Speaker 1 (10:35):
But that's the thing, like, like, have you taken protein
powder before and said, not enough bovine blood?
Speaker 5 (10:42):
Where's the closterol? Come here? Ma'am spleened needs more of that?
P What is that? Who? Perus? Whoa what p A
R R E A S.
Speaker 6 (10:59):
I have no idea what that is. That's the part
in between your Yeah, that's another region. Yeah, that's the thing.
You know, we should all be eating more organ meats.
And and I, like everybody else, don't like the taste
of a lot of organ meats, even though I eat.
I do eat liver, raw liver, for sure.
Speaker 5 (11:23):
I just I did this. I did all the way.
I went on the way.
Speaker 2 (11:33):
Yeah, how do you eat raw liver?
Speaker 6 (11:36):
So I get grass fed liver from the store frozen,
I let it fall out. I cut up edible chunks
and then I put it in the freezer and then
in the morning it's like my vitamin. So I take
out I take out a chunk, I put some sea
salt on it, I let it fall out, keep, and
(11:57):
then I eat it.
Speaker 5 (12:00):
It's like a It's like your daily multi vitamin you want.
Speaker 8 (12:08):
That is done?
Speaker 5 (12:10):
No, literally, according to this it has everything you need. Listen.
Speaker 8 (12:19):
It helps with your your balance, your vision, your fertility,
your muscle development, energy, and even your immune system.
Speaker 5 (12:29):
Not worth it?
Speaker 8 (12:30):
Listen, man, if it gave me seven extra inches, Oh okay, we.
Speaker 5 (12:37):
Can't mean I need a living calf. Yeah, someone's poor leg.
Speaker 4 (12:47):
Look this sounds great, Ben, but I'm gonna get my
colossum a different way.
Speaker 1 (12:50):
Listen, Guys, listen, listen. If you were to buy now,
you will get also a superate bag that includes once daily.
Speaker 5 (13:05):
Oh yeah, this is like the organ complex, the.
Speaker 1 (13:08):
Organ complex which includes nothing. Yeah, I have that liver, heart, kidney, pancreas,
and spleen.
Speaker 5 (13:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (13:14):
That that one is uhetizer. Yeah, that one is a
little gamy when you mix it together.
Speaker 5 (13:22):
Will I will, it's not.
Speaker 3 (13:26):
That one.
Speaker 5 (13:30):
Vigorous is just not it's it's strong. It's strong. It's
a guy who ate raw liver.
Speaker 6 (13:40):
The gallon that I run into the same gap, the
same cashier at the at the co op that I
go to and uh, where I buy my stuff. And well,
at first second of all, it's thout, I buy the
Thousand Hills. Thousand Hills makes the raw liver, and so
I just buy their their stuff. And and she's like,
what do you do with She's like, I've seen you
buy this before?
Speaker 5 (14:01):
What do you do with this? And I just told
her the same thing, and she's like, you don't cook it?
Speaker 2 (14:06):
I go no, Jesus.
Speaker 5 (14:10):
She was so disgusted in me like that.
Speaker 1 (14:15):
But what but guys, literally every review like this, Julie says,
finally a protein powder that tastes good and doesn't bother
my stomach.
Speaker 5 (14:23):
And that's my problem. That's like four hours because it's
a whole food protein.
Speaker 6 (14:29):
It's not like this manu manufactured like this concentrate of
something something so.
Speaker 5 (14:35):
That's also full of sugar.
Speaker 4 (14:38):
Ben, what is the difference in terms of health quality
between what you're doing and me going to Annie AND's pretzels.
Speaker 3 (14:46):
Get this?
Speaker 6 (14:47):
And the thing is like, I still it's I still
do all of that. I mean, I still partake in
all of that.
Speaker 5 (14:53):
I mean I have it. I have a chip fetish.
I just that's a chip fetish. I like chips. I
mean that is my hard. It's hard not to like.
Speaker 2 (15:03):
Orchestra was hot.
Speaker 5 (15:05):
He was great, he was great. Those pants perfectly yeah, man,
yeah it's very tight. No, don't get me.
Speaker 6 (15:14):
Wrong, guys like I do what I can, but I
still I still eat a lot of stuff I shouldn't eat.
Speaker 4 (15:20):
Man, That is that is truly the equivalent of a
fear factor. You just said, you know, eat a human
or a human, a live bug or what you just said.
I'd be like, it's the same thing.
Speaker 5 (15:30):
What do I care? It's it's just as gross to me.
I would not win the million.
Speaker 2 (15:35):
I'm gonna buy it. I'm not buying that one. You
said taste Yeah.
Speaker 6 (15:38):
Don't buy the game, don't buy the organ complex, just
start to start a video game.
Speaker 4 (15:45):
You guys, use ysentery. How many of you would eat
the liver the way that Ben described it?
Speaker 5 (15:50):
I couldn't do. I mean can I could? I could
not in a million years. Can I keep that down?
Speaker 9 (15:54):
No?
Speaker 5 (15:54):
No, No, you couldn't. No chance is it? Basically? I mean,
it's so different than need like raw fish, right, No,
it's way different than that. I mean, raw fish will
get you sick. Ye Would you try this sauce?
Speaker 10 (16:07):
Yes?
Speaker 9 (16:07):
Or no?
Speaker 8 (16:08):
You were.
Speaker 5 (16:08):
Yeah, i'd try it, Yeah, Zach, you know, can I
just can?
Speaker 2 (16:11):
I just I need to put it in some mouse.
It's gross you talking about the powder.
Speaker 5 (16:16):
Yeah, no, you just made. Do you make smoothies I
have before.
Speaker 8 (16:23):
You have?
Speaker 5 (16:23):
Do you drink like like a regular milk or some
sort of like alternative soy milk?
Speaker 8 (16:29):
Sure?
Speaker 2 (16:29):
I like soy milk and I like oat milk.
Speaker 6 (16:31):
Okay, so put it in your oat milk and just
like whisk it up or blend it up like whatever
however you do it, and just.
Speaker 5 (16:37):
Uh, just drink it.
Speaker 1 (16:38):
All right, I'm gonna do it. I'm checking out right now. Yeah,
I think I hit myself from the head.
Speaker 6 (16:45):
Let me drink, let me take it a couple of times,
and let me know how your tummy, how your tummy feels.
Thank you, because I am just a mess in my belly.
And and don't and don't be like a typical guy.
And if it says like one scoop is like the
serving and you do like three East scoop can do that?
Speaker 5 (17:01):
I know you can't do that. That's what that's what
balls you up.
Speaker 1 (17:06):
Yeah, I don't know why I do that. That's so
funny you say because I take this recovery drink now too.
That really has been helping me with my soreness, because damn.
And it says one scoop twice a day, and there
I go put in two scrapes.
Speaker 5 (17:20):
It's a guy thing, though, It's like if it's a
little bit as good, then a lot of.
Speaker 4 (17:25):
No, it's raising brand propaganda. Convinced that you had to
have two scoops. A lot of us watched American Gladiators.
We all remember raised two scoops berry.
Speaker 10 (17:34):
Yeah, we.
Speaker 5 (17:37):
Hold on my drinks here.
Speaker 2 (17:41):
To whoa I'm put undawar? Uh wasn't Damn, I don't remember.
Speaker 5 (17:49):
Do you like anything else for uh? Calm down easy
that we'll talk off their bud.
Speaker 4 (17:59):
Can't wait, Let's go to that was your liver breakdown
sauce sports when we get back right, Yes, sounds great.
Speaker 2 (18:06):
Do you remember Star used to eat a raw sweet potatoes?
Yeah every morning?
Speaker 5 (18:13):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (18:14):
Gosh, yeah, that's more disgusting than raw level.
Speaker 5 (18:18):
Oh yeah, just the the the chewing of that raw.
That's too much.
Speaker 6 (18:22):
But the thing is, here's the thing, uh, Hawk, I
sent you two options, Yeah you did. I mean the
other one is just a regular and everybody says it's good.
Speaker 5 (18:31):
The other one's rave about the other ones. That's a
very clean regular protein powder.
Speaker 3 (18:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (18:35):
Yeah, and again I read about both of them.
Speaker 1 (18:38):
This one, it sounds like, is exactly what I'm looking
for because the thing about the protein part, it sounds
like I got a jazz band in my pants.
Speaker 5 (18:44):
Yeah, a very very soft chance.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
Oh no not this one.
Speaker 5 (18:51):
Fall Back Sauce with Sports is next on the Fan.
Speaker 11 (18:56):

I showed Ben the entire o's Peerlman video from a
CNBC yesterday. Okay, yeah, and nuts Bend, Like, there's so
many layers to it that I just am scratching my
head on going I just I don't even know where
to start with that guy.
Speaker 6 (20:12):
It's not it really is not even worth your brain
power to try to figure it out. That's the other
part of it. It's it's so mind blowing and there
are so many layers to it, and any one, like
any random decision that either one of the two make,
encircling whatever company, it just the whole house of cards
(20:32):
collapses like nothing works. The whole segment's dead. Yep, how
does he nail that? I don't know that then connects
all the dots to the very end. I don't get it, Like,
I don't even know. That's the thing. Like it it's
not even worth my it's gonna hurt my brain to try.
Speaker 4 (20:48):
To figure why he's fun to watch, because it's just
it's it's a zero person like you said, it's a
zero percent even progress in the opportunity to guess what
he's doing.
Speaker 5 (20:56):
It's like, I'm not even off the starting line here.
I have no idea. All right, sauce, sports lots are
going on. You're here to discuss all of those things.
Speaker 11 (21:05):
I'm on the power trip presented by All Around Property Preservation.
Speaker 5 (21:09):
Thanks Around, Thank you.
Speaker 8 (21:11):
The Minnesota Wild beat Vancouver three to two in overtime
at a caprice offt game winner. The Wild trail to
one of the third when Middleton excuse me, scored to
tie it, and then four thirty six into overtime, on
an assist from Rossi, Caprisoft scored to give the Wild
their league leading thirty eighth point of the season.
Speaker 5 (21:31):
Zacho.
Speaker 8 (21:32):
The thirty eight points in twenty five games is the
most enfranchise history. They battled the Ducks on Friday at
nine pm right here on the Fan. Best team in
the National Hockey League right now is located in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
Incredible game last night against a very good Vancouver Canucks team,
(21:52):
and there was a lot of opportunities for them to
to lose and they didn't. They've got great goaltending, great defense,
their offenses producing just enough despite the injuries that they've
had to deal with, and hopefully, like I said earlier,
jul Eric Sinak, that's a big concern to be to
be watching out for. But hopefully we get Ziccilla back
(22:15):
sometime soon. Maybe he can fill those shoes, but they
haven't let the injuries get to him yet. Hopefully, and
I would imagine that we'll continue this weekend because the
Ducks aren't aren't that great?
Speaker 1 (22:27):
Two things, Sauce, didn't you used to smoke Suckerello's brilliant
And second of all, here's John Hines formula of CABDO
two on getting better as the game goes on.
Speaker 9 (22:37):
You know, I thought we got tougher and we got
harder as the game continued to go on, and that's
what I really you know, I think that was a
big reason why we find a way to win the game.
Speaker 5 (22:46):
Mentally, you're down, you're in one of those games.
Speaker 9 (22:48):
There's not a lot of time and space, it's not
easy to score. You know.
Speaker 5 (22:52):
We come back twice to be able to do that.
Speaker 9 (22:54):
So that's kind of the core of our team that
we're talking about finding a way to win these games
and the toughness to physical toughness to push back the
focus level, and I thought that was that we entered
the bell tonight.
Speaker 5 (23:06):
They never had a lead.
Speaker 8 (23:08):
Yeah, they came back twice as you mentioned, and also
as you mentioned, yeah it was it was very tight checking.
There was not a lot of space at all to
work with, and they just found just enough space to
to get that second goal and eventually get to overtime.
And yeah, like I said, if if you get a chance,
I'm sure like NHL has it on YouTube four and
(23:29):
a half minutes of incredible action that that overtime was awesome.
Speaker 5 (23:34):
Watch it again.
Speaker 11 (23:35):
It is.
Speaker 5 (23:35):
It is great. I love it, man, it's awesome. This
is unbelievable.
Speaker 8 (23:38):
I know everything could be completely different in the spring
and it's a long season, but to be in December
on the top of the National Hockey League is pretty crazy.
Speaker 5 (23:51):
That's hockey, I think.
Speaker 6 (23:53):
Well, it's it's sort of you're sort of right in
the wave that I think all the Vikings fans did
early in the season. Right, it's like, I don't know
what this team is is, I don't know what's going on,
Like this is sort of unexpected, but so just enjoy
the moment when you're in the moment, exactly like it
could all just an injury here, an injury there. Who
knows what happens late in the season. So why not
(24:14):
just enjoy the right enjoy this season? Where's that sound bite?
Where's the Tyson sound bite?
Speaker 5 (24:21):
Anybody know? Enjoyed the season?
Speaker 11 (24:23):
Bit?
Speaker 8 (24:23):
They've played a long time, they played a lot uncommon.
I thought the same thing last night when I was
packing up. I'm like, you know, there in the past,
there's been that temptation to be like, you know, that
dread of all that when this house of Card's gonna
come crashing that I don't I don't care.
Speaker 5 (24:38):
I mean, I have no control over the house of cards.
Speaker 8 (24:41):
I just have control over of how much fun I
can have when it's going good, and it is it
is going pretty pretty good. This seem's got a great
personality identity. So that so that being said, where do
you think the parade route's gonna go? Well, West seventh
is the obvious, Probably West seventh to kel maybe up
(25:01):
to uh maybe a round Rice Park and then up
to uh finish off at the Capitol. Maybe that's a
long part. It's going to be in the summer. Oh yeah,
be beautiful. Yeah, I think you're onto something, Zacho. They've
also won four straight Hogs Daddy.
Speaker 2 (25:20):
That's me.
Speaker 8 (25:21):
The Gophers opened their Big Ten play tonight at home
against Michigan State State. Michigan State is a four and
a half point favorite. You can hear that game on
the fan, Go Parker.
Speaker 2 (25:31):
And here's what the coach had to say.
Speaker 10 (25:32):
They obviously played in Maui, and I thought they had
sports where they played really, really really high level basketball.
Not much changes in terms of, you know, obviously transition.
They love their rebound and run, so you got to
make sure you get your transition back and set make
to face your half court defense.
Speaker 4 (25:52):
Do we believe that widely known sexist Paul meetzos Lambert
will have the women score in his update?
Speaker 5 (26:01):
He is furiocely typing away at his computer trying to
find the score.
Speaker 4 (26:05):
They go for women won ninety to forty four over
in North Florida. They're now ten and ozho and they
are at number twenty five Nebraska. Sunday at one o'clock,
they're ten and oh.
Speaker 8 (26:14):
Rosie told me to keep it out, he said, nobody report.
I think he told you to take it out. Yeah, right,
well played, So yeah, your team plays tonight, Hogs.
Speaker 5 (26:24):
Let's go. Are you gonna go?
Speaker 2 (26:27):
It's gonna be real cold, I mean real cold, but
hell yeah, I'm going.
Speaker 8 (26:33):
The Wolves battle the Clippers tonight at nine to thirty.
The Wolves are two and a half point favorites. The
Clippers are coming off of a back to back where
they won last night against the Trailblazers. That game can
be heard on the Timberwolves iHeartRadio channel. We got jes yeah, yeah,
is it ninety six point seven?
Speaker 5 (26:53):
What is it, Carl?
Speaker 8 (26:54):
It's one on one point three? Oh, they gave up
on that quick Week fourteen stars. It's with the eleven
and one Lions hosting the nine and three Packers tomorrow
at seven fifteen. Your Lions are currently three point favorites
in The over under is fifty one and a half.
Speaker 3 (27:12):
Is that right?
Speaker 5 (27:13):
Hmmm? You still got that hankering hawk. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (27:17):
Like I said, I ain't putt no money.
Speaker 5 (27:18):
On it, all right? Do you want to bet on it?
Don't do it.
Speaker 2 (27:23):
I can't.
Speaker 5 (27:23):
Don't do it. I can't on the Lions side. Sauce.
Speaker 8 (27:26):
Yeah, I mean you like the chalk, Yeah, I like
the chalk, and I like you. I like an eleven
and one team at home, although they almost lost to
the Bears. If the Bears knew what they were doing,
nothing Hogs No. Kate coy Perrich was named to the
first Team All Big Ten. He's the first Minnesota true
(27:46):
freshman to earn first team All Big Ten honors since
Darryl Thompson.
Speaker 5 (27:50):
In nineteen eighty six.
Speaker 6 (27:52):
Think about that in future Kansas State Wildcat heard you
guys talk about it earlier, and you guys, you guys
put me on that.
Speaker 5 (27:59):
I your gonna go ahead and make some calls, make
some calls.
Speaker 4 (28:04):
I'm not saying you're connected to the University of Minnesota, Ben,
But what's your gut say?
Speaker 5 (28:08):
I think he stays, or think he finds a giant check?
Speaker 2 (28:10):
You think just fine because he eats bovine blood hopefully right.
Speaker 5 (28:14):
I think he stays. He that's the whole.
Speaker 6 (28:18):
That's not like he wasn't getting highly recruited by these
other teams out of high school. I mean, he had
an opportunity to take some more money. He had an
opportunity to go to a bigger a quote unquote bigger program.
Speaker 4 (28:27):
Don't you think that number has increased since he looks
like he's as Yeah, do you think. I don't know
if this is a thing yet or not. But let's
say the Gophers or any team has a pool of
money for NIL and A and a player like Koy
has a monster year, where now every team in the
country is willing to basically blank check the hell out
of him if he gets a giant percentage of the
(28:48):
NIL for a specific team. Doesn't that kind of piss
off the rest of the team, like, well, Cooy's taken
all of our money now, like you can't disperse it
evenly because we have to pay him so much. Is
that going to start happening where yeah, you know, one
or two players buzz kills the rest of the team.
Speaker 6 (29:03):
It will sucks, It will. It's gonna be in what
this new salary cap thing. I mean, he's gonna be
making He'll be making whatever percentage from the salary cap
for next year of the team. The team's gonna know
what he's making, just like a professional athlete. And I'm
sure there's gonna be like some people that are disgruntled,
but when everybody's getting paid, it's better than the alternative
(29:25):
of not getting paid at all.
Speaker 5 (29:26):
So and it's not like he's not earned it.
Speaker 12 (29:30):
You know so.
Speaker 6 (29:31):
I think a lot of the guys in the locker
room are like, no, he's a beast. I mean, he
deserves it. It's this is where college football is. And
I think there's gonna be enough in the salary cap.
There'll be enough in the nil to keep him happy.
Will it be the most like, well, you try to
capitalize on the very most he can get.
Speaker 5 (29:46):
I don't. I don't know.
Speaker 6 (29:47):
That's for him to decide. I don't think that he's
going to need to do that. Making a million dollars here.
Speaker 5 (29:55):
Is gonna be.
Speaker 6 (29:56):
He'll probably make more than that, but like that's got
to be good enough to stay close to home.
Speaker 5 (30:02):
I don't know. It's a lot of money. It's a
ton of money. Hogs Daddy, Hi baby, do you want
me to do the vikings? Bitter? Do you want to
come home?
Speaker 3 (30:10):
Back?
Speaker 5 (30:10):
Brother? Sweet zacho w And they still have time to
enter the keyword correct. Yeah, very quickly.
Speaker 8 (30:18):
I would rush to kiff in dot com keyword contests
and then head over to the World Juniors page where
you will type in the keyword rival that's rival.
Speaker 4 (30:30):
Be by your phone if you entered, because we're going
to call one of you in that first segment of
the eight o'clock hour, No zacho, they need what a
trip for two to Ottawa next month to watch this
year's World Juniors, right Rex, But.
Speaker 5 (30:41):
That is in anticipation of the Juniors being here the year.
Speaker 8 (30:45):
After that, and the people who do not win that
trip to Ottawa will win tickets to the World Juniors
when it's here next year at the Xcel Energy Center
and of course Sprey Marine at Maryuchi.
Speaker 5 (30:58):
Vikings News with Ben lead after it is Power Morning Show.
Speaker 8 (31:01):
A couple of quick things for you here the Power
Hours coming up and just a little bit, Quantum Fiber
brings you that. It's that camfegn dot com slash watch. Well,
thanks again to Quantum Fiber, your world unleashed.
Speaker 5 (31:16):
And the other thing. Let's give away some wild tickets,
shall we?
Speaker 11 (31:20):
What?
Speaker 2 (31:22):
Oh, it's a wild Wednesday, baby, it's.
Speaker 5 (31:25):
A It is a wild Wednesday on the fan and
as the wonderful where is it? Where did it go? Yeah?
Right live trail that.
Speaker 8 (31:37):
Was complaining about it earlier one of us, which is awesome.
Speaker 13 (31:40):
All right, It's a wild Wednesday and the Fan brought
to you by Jim Beam, the official bourbon of the
Minnesota Wild, and we've got your tickets to see the
red hot Minnesota Wild take on the Edmonton Oilers on
December twelfth.
Speaker 5 (31:51):
What color numbers should we take? Ben? Seven, seventh, caller one.
Speaker 8 (31:57):
Another, three, two, zero, fifty three, twenty six is gonna
win a pair of tickets?
Speaker 5 (32:01):
Good luck?
Speaker 11 (32:02):
It's time for Vikings Us on the Power Trip presented by.
Speaker 5 (32:11):
Thanks rad Coe Ben.
Speaker 4 (32:12):
The Vikings take on Kirk Cousins and the Atlanta Falcons
Sunday at noon.
Speaker 5 (32:16):
Right here on the van. The Vikings are ten and two,
the Falcons are six and six. They're falling apart.
Speaker 4 (32:20):
It looks like we're gonna get most of, if not all,
of our kicking team back because Andrew Depaula and Will
Reiker were both returned to practice. That was the designation,
and Special Teams coordinator Matt Daniel said he was still
unsure if they'd be ready to go, but it looked
like they tipped their hand because they waved long snapper
Jake McQuaid. So I assume that's gonna mean that Depaula
(32:41):
is ready to go, but not sure about Will record
yet for Sunday.
Speaker 5 (32:45):
That was so cool.
Speaker 2 (32:48):
Equay's the best? Oh yeah, I love that guy man.
Speaker 6 (32:50):
Yeah, great guy, great guy. I told you that we
were teammates. When Saint Louis I to.
Speaker 5 (32:55):
Stand there, he told you that you had forgotten or
he like, how did that work?
Speaker 1 (33:03):
Actually know what that might have been. He may have
been talking to Bursuch about being your teammate. Now that
they think about that, Oh is that right. We were
getting on a plane and I think he burst asked
him about his career and he said, I was teammates
with Lieber. Yeah, that's that's right, that's what it was. Yeah,
it was his rookie year and it was my last year. Yeah,
(33:23):
and surprise, surprised. We didn't hang out.
Speaker 5 (33:25):
It's just fine. Nice, nice guy. You didn't hang out
with a rookie long snapper. I did not. It was
a time and say, look, you don't want to be
there anyway, let alone to make new friends.
Speaker 4 (33:36):
And you had no chance of continuing with because you
were going to be done. But hey, at least the
check cleared. Oh yeah, yeah, check clear.
Speaker 5 (33:43):
That's all that matter. Chack's good. Oh yeah, check's good.
Speaker 2 (33:46):
Pension's good, so plenty of money for liver.
Speaker 5 (33:49):
So let's break this down for a second. In an
entire season with the Saint Louis Rams. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (33:53):
How many times do you think you even spoke to
Jake McQuaid. Maybe once, and it was nothing more than hey,
I'm ben, nice to meet you, good luck or was
it the hey, nice snap? Like if you talk to
him one time all year, do you remember what the
conversation was or probably was something like out, that's a
heck of a snap.
Speaker 5 (34:11):
And that was it in practice or on the sidelines
of a game. Maybe practice and that's it. Yeah, that's it.
That's crazy.
Speaker 11 (34:18):
No.
Speaker 6 (34:18):
I mean, you know, I was on I would practice
with the punt team, so you know there would be
football conversations. But as far as locker room chilling hanging out,
I don't. I do not remember having like many conversation,
if any conversations with him.
Speaker 8 (34:35):
Hey what.
Speaker 6 (34:37):
But but but a typical rookie and a typical special
teams guy, they sort of stick to themselves.
Speaker 5 (34:43):
So but take the rookie part out of it. Did
you overlap with who Colin Leffler? Yeah? And then and
then was that it was your long snapper almost the
whole time you were there.
Speaker 4 (34:52):
Yes, Kevin Leer, Kevin McDermott was after you.
Speaker 5 (34:58):
Yeah, so you were just Colin Leffler.
Speaker 14 (35:00):
Did you ever walk up to him and go how
But he was established and if you guys talked, Colin
was one of the dudes.
Speaker 3 (35:10):
I like that.
Speaker 6 (35:11):
He was one of the guys when I when I
first got here and we and they put us in
the town. The town placed suites at the in Eden Prairie.
There was a bunch like that's where Heath Farwell and
Colin and like some of the younger guys were staying
because they didn't have like home homes and apartments and
that was free. So they're like, oh, we'll take free lodging.
So yeah, there was a couple of times we just
(35:31):
saw like a group of us would just hang out
and no Colin was Colin always wanted to be known
as something other than just a long snapper. That's why
he would run down and try to make tackles on
punt team. He you know, he was a real football player.
He didn't want to be like I'm just a long snapper. Like, no,
I'm a football player that knows how to snap.
Speaker 5 (35:49):
Yeah, he was. He was great. He was a good
dude and he loves whiskey.
Speaker 4 (35:52):
Yeah Texan, Texan, true, you and Heath have been tight
ever since, ever since, ever since the old hotel.
Speaker 2 (35:59):
Is Heath on the track to be a head coach?
Speaker 5 (36:01):
It's possible, it is. That's sweet. That'd be so cool. Yeah,
good for him, great, Yeah, he's crazy, man, No, it is.
It is interesting.
Speaker 6 (36:12):
It is interesting to see these these guys that you
you grow up with in the league and now they're
like doing big boy things. It's like, it's it's not
as if they weren't doing a big boy job before,
but to be doing like big boy.
Speaker 5 (36:24):
Big boy jobs, it's kind of fun.
Speaker 4 (36:26):
I'm not asking you to answer for him because you
know him well, but maybe you don't know his complete
inside of his head. But do you think he's the
kind of guy that would go to college to get
a head coach job.
Speaker 5 (36:35):
Or he's only in the pros? In the pros? Yeah?
Speaker 6 (36:37):
Interesting in his control. I'm gonna speak for him, and
I think that he only wants to be in the.
Speaker 5 (36:42):
NFL so coordinator or head coach NFL only I.
Speaker 6 (36:45):
Don't And it's crazy that like he could have he
could have been here because you know, he and Kaos
here buds, so they went they went to college together.
They're like still tight. Ohka, yeah, I didn't know that. Yeah,
so he I know that there was some talks. I
don't know all the timing of everything, but there's some
talks that he was gonna be the special teams coordinator here.
But I think that he had already accepted the job
(37:08):
down in Jacksonville something something like that. But I just
know that through that process they were talking a lot.
Speaker 2 (37:14):
Good for him, man, that's yeah, that's great.
Speaker 5 (37:16):
That would be really cool to see Niba. I know,
I know, come on, dude, what do you want to
coach the Chicago Bears next year? Take over for Eberflus.
Speaker 2 (37:25):
Does he need a a linebacker coach?
Speaker 5 (37:30):
I see. I don't know if that would do the
coaching thing.
Speaker 6 (37:34):
Yeah, if he asked me, if he asked me to
be into the front office, I might say, yes, that'd
be great.
Speaker 5 (37:41):
You are you gonna ask Paul, is the Bears job
the best job available? Will it be the best job available?
I have to think so, yeah, yeah, because we've.
Speaker 6 (37:50):
Seen how good Caleb can be, and we all he
hasn't even hit the ceiling yet. And everybody, you know,
one of my one of my former teammates, my buddies,
is on that coaching staff as well, and he was
just like, dude, we have a you look our individual roster,
they have a very talented roster man and it's like
and that's not just being biased because he's there, but
(38:13):
you know, he was very he was kind of disappointed
about where the season was going because like, yeah, listen,
if eber Flus gets fired, that means we're all getting
fired pretty much, and it just sucks that the next
coach that's going to come in is going to be
handed this super talented roster.
Speaker 5 (38:30):
And it's like, yeah, that's true.
Speaker 6 (38:32):
I mean you look at your guys's top to bottom offense,
defense like you guys, plus you got a young quarterback.
Speaker 5 (38:37):
Like it's it's a formidable team. It's a great great location.
Hey speaking a great spot. I know this is Vikings
News and we're talking NFL, but the.
Speaker 4 (38:44):
Ryan Day situation in Ohio State, how do you feel
about that, Ben, because there are people calling for his
head because even though he's something like, what is it?
Speaker 5 (38:52):
What did we say the other day?
Speaker 4 (38:53):
Like thirty seven and one against the Big Ten if
you don't count Michigan, it's something like that. That number
might be off, but it's it's close off. He's only
lost like one game to a team in the Big
Ten that isn't Michigan, And part of me says, well,
that's cool. Ohio State can say we demand excellence, we
demand greatness at all times, and anything short of excellence
(39:15):
against specifically Michigan, is a fireable offense. I would just say,
from an outsider's perspective, like, if I'm a coach, I would.
Speaker 5 (39:21):
Never want that job exactly.
Speaker 4 (39:23):
I would want a job that expects everything else except
for perfection, right, Like you want you want to expect
a winning program, the shot at excellence, right, a consistent
shot at excellence, but not where if I don't have
an excellent season, I'm gone. Like the fact that he's
even considered to be on the hot seat to me
(39:44):
is absolutely insane.
Speaker 5 (39:45):
But that's what the Ohio State culture is. I don't
get it.
Speaker 6 (39:48):
You know, this is a This is a weird thing
for me because if my son was getting recruited by
Ohio State, which means that you're getting recruited by a
lot of other top tier I mean basically every other
Division I program out there, I would look at that
situation as is that going to be a fun environment
to be in to know that if the higher ups
(40:09):
are going to demand perfection, not just wins and not
just national championships, but you have to be perfect every
single game. The ability to not make mistakes is not
a place I want a young player to go to
because if they're going to hold the head coach to that,
that's a trickle down effect into the coaching staff. That's
(40:30):
a trickle down effect into the players. And it's not
just having high expectations of just being like, Okay, we
got to play at a high level and you want
a limit mistakes, But that that idea of being eighteen
years old and being looked at so like under a microscope,
so tightly and so magnified, that's not a situation I
think is good, like a good psychological place for my kid,
(40:51):
Like I just I don't I wouldn't want that.
Speaker 4 (40:53):
I don't remember if this was on or off here,
but we talked to with grim about this on Monday
that I was listening to KFN in the car. I
jumped in the car, like right after the Michigan Ohio
State game on Saturday, and whoever was doing the national
post game for whoever it Learfield or west Wood Want
or whatever it is. The guy actually asked the question
on airon he was not kidding that if he goes
(41:14):
if Ryan Day wins a national title, is that enough
to keep his job?
Speaker 5 (41:19):
I saw that on X You think about that question.
Speaker 4 (41:21):
If he wins the national title but he lost to Michigan,
is that enough to get him off the hot seat?
And I'm like, what world are we living in where
a guy can win the title? And it's like, yeah,
you've lost to Michigan four straight times, so we got
to let you go. What he won the national title,
that's I don't think that's even possible. Like, I think
if he wins the title, clearly he's staying there. But
just the fact that that question was asked and he's
(41:43):
not laughed out of the room because that's how Ohio
State operates, that's insane.
Speaker 5 (41:47):
So the other thing, the only thing I'll say about
that in.
Speaker 6 (41:51):
Just to contrast that a little bit, is that it's
also in the style points in which they win. Yes,
if you win the national Championship, you've got, you ran
through the gauntlet, You've got.
Speaker 5 (42:02):
The proof is in the pudding.
Speaker 6 (42:03):
But as it is right now, if I'm a young
high school recruit, Ohio State looks soft and that is
sort of the that's the vibe that is between the
two programs Michigan. Michigan has talented players, maybe not as
much talent on paper, but they play a tougher style
(42:24):
of football and more of a man style of football,
and that's obviously looked at in a better light than what.
Speaker 5 (42:30):
Ohio State is.
Speaker 6 (42:32):
Even though Ohio State could win games, it's the style
of which they're playing and if that narrative keeps getting
expanded on their recruiting trail, there's not a lot of
high school kids that want to be going to a
soft program.
Speaker 5 (42:44):
So you're saying Corey Parrot should go to Michigan, not
Ohio State. Oh for sure, got it.
Speaker 4 (42:48):
Fantas is next, and we're going to contact the keyword
winner for this World Juniors contest. We'll see who gets
drafted in Initials. Whether it's Parish Sauce or Mike mcdone.
Know who is playing Initials and making his Power Trip
debut on Friday.
Speaker 5 (43:03):
Right here, I'm the fan
