Minnesota Vikings Radio Network.

TSA officials are expecting record air travel this week at
Minneapol Saint Paula next airport. This is Jessica Malee uh says.
The terminals were crowded on Tuesday, We'll be crowded again today.

She says.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
The new CT scanners that secure to check points and
lead to fewer bag checks, pastors no longer need to
remove liquids or laptops from their bags.
Speaker 3 (03:03):
I did not know that.
Speaker 4 (03:04):
I did not know that.
Speaker 3 (03:05):
I didn't know that either. I thought that was only
I didn't know that.
Speaker 4 (03:09):
Let's find out more from.
Speaker 3 (03:12):
Jessica.
Speaker 9 (03:12):
Mainly, you know this Thanksgiving period here at MFP, the
whole holiday period is probably going to be the busiest
Thanksgiving period on the record. We might not set any
individual records for each day, but as a whole that
Thanksgiving period, I think it'll definitely surpass where we were
last year.
Speaker 3 (03:27):
There you go. So I'm so glad I don't have
to travel out. I've had the.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
Quick flight out after Thanksgiving, yet get out east it
is a mess, and I take the I'm either the
first flight in the morning or i take the late flight,
like I don't take the prime flights for that purpose,
try and avoid the congregation.
Speaker 3 (03:47):
But great song. Yeah, it is my favorite food fighter.
Speaker 4 (03:52):
It's top for congregations. Yeah that's great.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
Yeah, No, it's it's a mess. So yeah, I agree.
Stayed heck away from it if you can.
Speaker 1 (04:02):
Here's something that I enjoy. There are still people who
teach you about etiquette. As Thanksgiving Day approaches, it's a
good time to review etiquette for gatherings with family and
friends during the holiday. Here's Julie France, the owner of
Everyday Etiquette in Forest Lake. I really would like her
to come in here and talk to us about how boneheaded.
Speaker 4 (04:23):
Was would gonna be great.
Speaker 3 (04:25):
Yeah, poor mind would act.
Speaker 4 (04:28):
I'd like her to listen to the partch up for
one just a week.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
Just let don't just have her watch us?
Speaker 2 (04:33):
Yeah, just be like and just take notes or yeah,
Carporal Tunnel should be writing down the whole what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (04:39):
Yeah, think of the just have have her watch us,
eat a Seventh Avenue pizza.
Speaker 1 (04:43):
I'd like her to criticize Corey, Yeah she would. Julie
France of Everyday Etiquette and in Force Lake emphasizes the
importance of good manners.
Speaker 3 (04:51):
That's a celebration.
Speaker 1 (04:52):
However, she reminds us that as the host of the dinner,
it is your responsibility to establish.
Speaker 5 (04:59):
The ground rules.
Speaker 10 (05:00):
You control alcohol levels, you control the conversation, and you
can control the environment. It's really up to you. But
let's not leave out people because they constantly want to
talk politics. We just announced at the start. Oh no,
we're not going to talk about that. I'm going to
stay away from religion. We're going to stay away from politics,
anything that is growth. Please don't come to the Thanksgiving
(05:22):
table and talk about medical problems, medical issues, what medications
you're on. We don't really want to hear about it
at the table.
Speaker 3 (05:30):
She's basically saying, don't invite Peter Lambert.
Speaker 4 (05:33):
Yeah, or me because I'm always talking about my boner problems.
Speaker 6 (05:37):
Wow. Yeah, you can't help that, though you do. Brit Hey,
how's everybody doing? I got a bad boner problem.
Speaker 3 (05:44):
Everybody wants the wishbone. No, come on, I was just talking.
Speaker 4 (05:49):
Debbie Downer, Yeah, d word Downer.
Speaker 3 (05:54):
Yeah, that's sad. That's what I do. They call you that,
they do, they do.
Speaker 4 (05:58):
They don't let me come over anymore. My name what
I'm talking about?
Speaker 3 (06:02):
Day?
Speaker 5 (06:03):
So there you go.
Speaker 1 (06:03):
Don't talk about your boner problems and don't talk about politics.
Speaker 2 (06:08):
Yeah, I look him on, honestly, don't do that. Don't
talk about politics or religion. That's gross.
Speaker 3 (06:15):
Yeah, she framed that they're both gross. I like her,
I like her. I agree.
Speaker 1 (06:21):
Minnesota man has been arrested after he entered an unlocked
home in Rochester completely naked. What he told the residents
he needed to use their bathroom?
Speaker 3 (06:29):
Please say?
Speaker 1 (06:30):
The twenty nine year old man was not making any
sense and appeared to be high what what assalts on
Investigators would later find his truck on top of a
guard rail at a nearby intersection. My god, naked man
was checked out by doctors before being jailed on charge
of burglary, d w I and indecent exposure.
Speaker 4 (06:49):
I wonder if he was naked before he crashed.
Speaker 3 (06:53):
I'd like to know the time. Yeah, that is a
very good point. Yeah, did he have clothes on? Did
he hit the game hard?
Speaker 7 (06:59):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (07:00):
Was with him period? Right?
Speaker 5 (07:01):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (07:01):
I doubt it. I bet he got into the car nude.
M right.
Speaker 4 (07:06):
Why do you think that?
Speaker 3 (07:08):
I don't know. I mean, how we need we need it,
we need we need a cane cane bet on this one.
I don't know if I would guess that he. I don't.
Just do you get in? Do you hit the guardrail
and then say, well, now my clothes have to come on.
Speaker 4 (07:22):
Here's my thinking on it.
Speaker 1 (07:23):
And forgive me if I'm if I'm grass, Yeah, forgive
me if I'm crassing, if I'm stating, what would happen
to me if I crashed into a guardrail and my
car was sitting on top of the guardrail, I'd have
to remove my clothing because they'd be covered in s word.
Speaker 3 (07:35):
Yeah, that's a good point. Yeah, well you just probably
take off just the bottom.
Speaker 6 (07:40):
No, No, he'd get fully pretty explosive. Yeah, he would
get fully dude.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
Yeah yeah, and especially if he's wasted. He didn't have
a seatbelt on, so it's probably all over him.
Speaker 3 (07:53):
Yeah, it's everywhere.
Speaker 4 (07:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (07:56):
His mugshot, he is still all like, do you have
a name for me? Brody w e I N M
A N N. It is like a great time.
Speaker 8 (08:12):
He's the happiest bugshot person I've ever see.
Speaker 3 (08:17):
He's got a big old grand he looks. Yeah, he
looks so happy. You can't find a school photo of
that guy looking that happy. I promise.
Speaker 1 (08:25):
Well, let me tell you that guy is. He's pretty
good with himself. He seems fine with what happened. And
he's got a giant neck tattoo.
Speaker 3 (08:33):
Yeah, that's my point about the school picture. Yeah, what's
his name? Brody Wineman I N M A N N.
And he's I mean, he's.
Speaker 1 (08:46):
He's got a lady's name tattooed on his neck. I'm
gonna guess she's not proud of that, but I could
be wrong.
Speaker 3 (08:53):
Maybe it's his mom. Everybody makes mistakes. Don't go into
people's houses. He's got a not a good guy.
Speaker 11 (09:03):
No.
Speaker 8 (09:04):
Rochester Man was arrested Sunday after reportedly held a pair
of scissors to a four year old's throat.
Speaker 3 (09:09):
Yeah, let's not judge, Yeah, let's let's uh. That's how
we have the legal process.
Speaker 8 (09:14):
And I'm like, you know, we know, but then it's
apparently left a superficial scratch.
Speaker 3 (09:19):
Okay, all right, but what did the four year old do? Sach, Yes,
we don't know the full story. There is two sides
to every story, and we don't know the full story.
Speaker 1 (09:27):
Probably not to that one, actually, probably. Yeah, the USDA
is reviewing a complaint against Alpha Genesis Primate Center in
South Carolina, after you may remember forty three monkeys.
Speaker 4 (09:37):
Escaped from the facility earlier this month.
Speaker 1 (09:40):
A few monkeys that still on the loose, really yeah
yeah yeah those monkeys man, oh yeah, they're having the
time of their life.
Speaker 10 (09:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (09:49):
They're playing Green Day at the top of their lungs.
Speaker 3 (09:51):
Right, no, yeah, great tune.
Speaker 10 (09:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (09:53):
Yeah, they're sobbing because they're they're sad about graduating high school.
Speaker 3 (09:58):
That's at that sign a lot of when I never
mind that was bad. I read the holiday Green Days
and all of it. Yeah, they're pumped trying to understand
what you're talking about. So the song time of their life.
That was like a huge song when I graduated high school.
Speaker 6 (10:18):
Okay, graduated, we got yeah, but like everybody played that
like that's it, like every graduation video ever.
Speaker 4 (10:25):
I graduated in nineteen eighty nine.
Speaker 3 (10:26):
Okay, anyone post ninety nine had that song you better
go over in ninety five. Yeah, it wasn't when I graduated.
Give out when I was in college for like ninety
six ninety seven.
Speaker 6 (10:37):
No, it's later that I think. Yeah, but anyway, that's sorry.
My joke was that song was in a lot of
graduation videos. That's why I made the graduation joke thank
you to complete that great.
Speaker 3 (10:52):
It was very bad.
Speaker 1 (10:54):
No one is winning the Magammillia's jackpot in time for Thanksgiving.
There was no grand prize winner and Tuesday Nights lottery drawing,
so the jackpot rolls over to five hundred and fourteen
million dollars. Now you've got my attention. Yeah, on Friday,
nobody's matched all six numbers since September, So they go,
now I will buy a ticket.
Speaker 3 (11:11):
Yeah, funny, I'm the same way as you are. Yeah.
They once it gets through being I'm like, okay, now
now it's on two hundred million. Bo Yeah, what would
I do.
Speaker 4 (11:20):
Yeah, yeah, now it's worth my time.
Speaker 3 (11:21):
But yeah, right then it's like, all right, I'll throw five.
Speaker 4 (11:25):
That'd be pretty cool, man, can't even imagine.
Speaker 3 (11:27):
Winning the lottery would be sweet, pretty good. Yeah, it'd
be great.
Speaker 1 (11:30):
A lot of a lot of people heading out for
drinks giving, millions of people be careful tonight.
Speaker 11 (11:36):
The day is known as drinks Giving, also Blackout Wednesday.
It's a popular day to go out and drink as
we celebrate returning home, reconnecting with friends, and maybe avoiding.
Speaker 4 (11:46):
Family a little bit longer.
Speaker 11 (11:47):
Police across the country wants you to know if you
do partake, there'll be increased patrols and DUI checkpoints. Also,
the Wednesday before Thanksgiving is the number five pizza eating
occasion of the year, with sales expected to rise. I'll
about forty tennis.
Speaker 3 (12:02):
Yeah, but that.
Speaker 2 (12:05):
For the record, I thought I was the only one
that called Wednesdays Wednesdays.
Speaker 6 (12:09):
Yeah, but that wasn't the night before Thanksgiving. That was
a Wednesday in January. Yeah, it was every Wednesday.
Speaker 2 (12:15):
Yeah, but yeah, that was I've actually heard of called
blackout wednes that's aggressive.
Speaker 3 (12:21):
I mean, I haven't heard that either.
Speaker 4 (12:23):
I like drinks and blacking out ain't top.
Speaker 3 (12:28):
We had be fifty two for the wild Watch party.
Speaker 8 (12:30):
But yeah, my my black Wednesday called it black blacky, Yeah,
blacked out.
Speaker 3 (12:38):
Whatever.
Speaker 8 (12:39):
Those days I think are are finally over. But man
we have good times up and up and white back
in the day for you.
Speaker 4 (12:46):
Good for you everybody, I mean you blacked out?
Speaker 3 (12:48):
Yeah, no idea from what you can remember. Yeah, you
don't remember that. Yeah, there was, there was one, one
of them, one of them.
Speaker 8 (12:54):
I woke up to a long, long message that I
sent to a group of people that I I have
no recollection of, no recollection of sending.
Speaker 3 (13:03):
That very very well. I used to do that every night. Yeah,
oh lord, yeah, I remember that. Never too late, right, never,
never too late, never too.
Speaker 4 (13:14):
Late, never, that's right, think about that, never too late. Yeah,
I remember that day, Zacho.
Speaker 3 (13:21):
Yeah, I remember that as well. That was a big
day for you.
Speaker 10 (13:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (13:26):
Then used to text a group that you shouldn't be
texting you remember that? That that was people? Oh boy?
Yeah good not good way to go, Zacho. Look at
you go?
Speaker 4 (13:37):
Yeah, look at Hugo, look at you?
Speaker 3 (13:39):
Yeah that last Friday, yeah yeah, see just on the
right one. Yeah, what's going on? No, nothing.
Speaker 6 (13:50):
It's weird though, because like you have to reach Not
everybody does it at the same time, but you everybody
reaches that age.
Speaker 3 (13:57):
You're like, I ain't going out tonight on the night
before Thanksgiving. It's just like New Year's Eve. It's it's
an amateur hour.
Speaker 4 (14:05):
Well just stay home as somebody and everybody who's ever been.
Speaker 3 (14:08):
There, Yeah, yeah, that's aint.
Speaker 4 (14:09):
This is the night you make your money.
Speaker 3 (14:11):
Yeah, this is the night.
Speaker 10 (14:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (14:14):
How many of these have you played? Tons?
Speaker 7 (14:15):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (14:16):
Yeah, I don't anymore of them.
Speaker 3 (14:17):
Yeah, because people.
Speaker 1 (14:19):
Get so drunk there there became you know, it's weird
because what you're saying is kind of true.
Speaker 7 (14:23):
For me.
Speaker 3 (14:23):
In this case, it became.
Speaker 1 (14:27):
People get so drunk that you could sing Happy Birthday yeah,
over and over and over again and they don't even know.
Speaker 3 (14:31):
What's going on.
Speaker 4 (14:32):
And I don't have any fun doing that.
Speaker 3 (14:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (14:34):
I don't want people to not be paying attention, you
know what I mean?
Speaker 3 (14:38):
And that that did change for me.
Speaker 1 (14:39):
Back in the day, I was just happy to see
people jumping up and down, didn't matter, But now I
want them to actually be engaged and be present.
Speaker 2 (14:45):
Did they just start requesting the same song like over, yeah, over,
yeah and over.
Speaker 3 (14:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (14:49):
You know what happened to me one time, speaking of
blackout drunk, we were playing over here in the Hopkins
Main Street.
Speaker 3 (14:55):
Oh yeah, great spot.
Speaker 4 (14:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (14:57):
And in the third set, cauld we do three sets, which,
oh my god, I can't even imagine at this age
doing three sets anymore. But h during the third set,
I started drinking Yagermeister and uh aggressive. In the middle
of the third set, we had Hair of the Dog
by Nazareth. Now you're messing with the Son of a Baby.
Speaker 3 (15:15):
Oh yeah, yeah. I was so wasted.
Speaker 4 (15:17):
I don't remember this.
Speaker 1 (15:18):
This is a blackout drunk. I was so wasted that
I was sitting at the front of the stage.
Speaker 4 (15:24):
Sitting down.
Speaker 3 (15:24):
I remember this story.
Speaker 1 (15:25):
Yeah, And they were playing the song and all I
kept saying over and over again was now the entire song.
Speaker 4 (15:31):
I didn't do the verses.
Speaker 3 (15:33):
Wow, that's great.
Speaker 1 (15:35):
I just sat there and sang the course to the
point where they just stopped playing because I would just
think that, and.
Speaker 3 (15:41):
You know how many people out there are right along,
oh yeah, this song anyway.
Speaker 2 (15:47):
Yeah, but see, that's the one thing that that was
the one thing I knew, even regardless of how much
I was drinking.
Speaker 3 (15:55):
Jagermeister is always a minded racer. That stuff.
Speaker 2 (15:58):
That stuff I've always even when I while I should
say that early on in my problem, Yeah, I even
knew that.
Speaker 3 (16:04):
Uh Jaegermeister's uh trouble makes me cry.
Speaker 6 (16:08):
Yes, yeah, I've seen it. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, it
makes me cry. I don't know why he bought one time.
Speaker 3 (16:13):
I think it was after we left out in John
You bought a double yagger and red bowl and it
was ninety two dollars at the stand outside of Caesar's Palace.
Speaker 6 (16:23):
And I probably tipped the guy you did, yeah, and
then I got something. It was like one hundred and
eighty dollars for two drinks. Well worth it, Yeah, and
then he started crying. I remember we went to uh
this was years ago. This is before the one that
I ripped. But this is probably I don't know. Twenty
seventeen eighteen.
Speaker 3 (16:40):
Went to bon Jovi at the X we pregamed.
Speaker 8 (16:44):
I had a couple of yag bahumps and uh, I
remember absolutely bawling during all be there.
Speaker 4 (16:52):
What is it that makes you cry?
Speaker 3 (16:54):
You cry?
Speaker 1 (16:55):
I don't know, That's What's what I'm saying. Yager mice
makes me positive somebody. We were sore, and I'm sure
Surgery's listen, she can probably remind me where we were at.
Speaker 3 (17:03):
For sure we were.
Speaker 1 (17:04):
I was completely blested. It was Jagermeister game and somebody
just said, how's Abigail? And I started, well, it was it.
Speaker 6 (17:12):
Was Vegas, wasn't Vega? Yeah, we were sitting in the
after hockey. You went up to the bar and you
bought around for like fifteen people.
Speaker 3 (17:20):
At the Heart Bar.
Speaker 6 (17:21):
Yeah, okay, that's and then you were sitting on the
floor with your your yag and red Bull. That isn't
for people who are like, yeah, everybody drinks, you know,
a yagger bomb. Hockey would drink it as a cocktail.
You would get a big like rocks glass full of
yag and full of red Bull.
Speaker 3 (17:42):
And I think it might have been Chrissy Bonus.
Speaker 6 (17:44):
And you just started sobby and then we had Yeah,
then we didn't find you, and then you that's what
I wandered off.
Speaker 1 (17:51):
Yeah, yeah, and I went to the one casino, the
one hotels casino.
Speaker 3 (17:54):
Did the Helverson find you?
Speaker 4 (17:56):
They found me at the MGM. Oh yeah that's right.
Speaker 3 (18:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (18:00):
And that was the time your dad had a rough evenings.
Speaker 3 (18:02):
Yeah, I got a text and a call from mom My. God, really,
what do I do here?
Speaker 4 (18:08):
She was trying to help two fifty year old men,
not hammer.
Speaker 3 (18:13):
Yeah, we were both hammy yeah.
Speaker 4 (18:16):
Oh good times.
Speaker 3 (18:17):

Speaker 3 (18:55):
Yes, needs to be heard before that's out time.
Speaker 1 (18:58):
Uh be careful. And this is one of the best
bits of all time. Is early in John Milady's career.
And this is all true. By the way, we all
know about his issues he's had and how he's done
his best to address him and God bless him. I
hope it's going well for him, this is all true.
Speaker 5 (19:18):
Oh hello everybody, how are you this evening? All right,
let's do this. Thank you, thank you for coming to
the Saturday Show. I'm very glad you're here.
Speaker 7 (19:35):
I love coming out to clubs and bars on the
weekends because nowadays, like every bar will bust out some
crazy drink specials. You know, you'll see him advertised, and honestly,
most of them are okay. The ones around they'll be
like bucket of Beers or Ladies Drink Free. But then
sometimes I'll hear about a drink special that sounds like
(19:55):
borderline dangerous. Like my friend will call me up and
be like, man, we gotta go to O'hallikan's tonight. It
is nickel shot night. I'm pretty sure we'll die if
we go to o'hall.
Speaker 3 (20:15):
I guess.
Speaker 5 (20:18):
Nickels shot night should be illegal.
Speaker 7 (20:21):
You know what I used to do San Francisco. I
used to black out drinking every night of the week.
That's absolutely true. I used to do that every night.
For those of you that don't know what that is,
blacking out is when you drink so much that your
brain goes to sleep, but your body gets all Aya.
Speaker 5 (20:39):
The Tiger and Soldiers on.
Speaker 1 (20:42):
Ya.
Speaker 5 (20:44):
I used to do this every night of the week.
Speaker 7 (20:46):
I'm not proud of that fact. By the way, I'm
not proud that I blacked out every night. I'm not
proud that I saw the movie The Notebook in the theater,
but it happened.
Speaker 5 (20:58):
I can't change the past. It was a matinee too.
It's pathetic. I'll tell you about blacking out.
Speaker 7 (21:07):
It was always weird when I would go out for
the night with like some money and blackout and wake
up with no money.
Speaker 5 (21:14):
It was even weirder, though, when.
Speaker 7 (21:16):
I would go out for the night with some money,
blackout and wake up with more money, because that means
that I earned money.
Speaker 5 (21:32):
Brilliant.
Speaker 7 (21:35):
That means that I traded goods and or services, which
is scary scary, but sometimes I'd almost be proud of it,
you know. I'd be like, Wow, I turned twenty dollars
into one hundred dollars.
Speaker 5 (21:53):
I am a financial wizard.
Speaker 7 (21:56):
Like I would like to give people money advice now,
but I don't know how that would go.
Speaker 11 (22:01):
You know.
Speaker 7 (22:01):
They would just be like, John, we're looking to get
rich quick. I'd be like, well, have you tried mixing
dackeries with ambient.
Speaker 3 (22:13):
Brilliant?
Speaker 5 (22:15):
Man, but like, does that work? I'm like, it didn't
not work.
Speaker 1 (22:23):
I'm telling you, mat And this next the next part
of the bit is another two minutes of it. The
next part is about when he you know what, I'm
just gonna play it.
Speaker 3 (22:30):
Are you guys okay? Again?
Speaker 1 (22:32):
This is old John mulaney from I think maybe his
first AMNU special, maybe a second, I don't know, but
this is when he was still writing for SNL. And
by the way, again, I'll say it again if you've
heard him on podcasts and stuff, this is all true.
Like this is sad and to be able to turn
that kind of sadness into comedies unbelievable.
Speaker 7 (22:52):
I started drinking when I was way too young. I
was about thirteen when I started.
Speaker 5 (22:56):
But honestly, that is nothing.
Speaker 7 (22:58):
Because I saw a eight line NBC special about alcoholics,
all right, and they interviewed this woman who started drinking
when she was eight years old.
Speaker 5 (23:09):
And she was eight. It was hilarious.
Speaker 7 (23:14):
I don't even know what I'd be like drunk at
eight years old. Like my dad comes home from work
and is like, so, John, boy, what did you do today?
And I'm just like, Callie, you did what?
Speaker 2 (23:35):
Now?
Speaker 5 (23:36):
Cali? You know, holoring fly with ouran, Well, what did
(23:57):
you color some big fucking work?
Speaker 4 (24:02):
I wondered if he customed that I'd be worried. Yeah, anyway,
sorry about that.
Speaker 3 (24:08):
Yeah, we were all like, I have this is a
great bit. The bit's great. I'm like, yeah, doesn't he swear.
Speaker 4 (24:17):
You might want to throw a morning at me? I
don't remember, I swear.
Speaker 3 (24:19):
I don't know. Yeah, there we go.
Speaker 4 (24:21):
But he does this whole bit, man, And then you
read about it. Are you listening to on podcasts?
Speaker 3 (24:25):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (24:25):
And that's true.
Speaker 1 (24:26):
Oh yeah, Like I mean, he started drinking at thirteen
years old and just went through How how this guy
made it successfully to Saturday I live and had such
a career.
Speaker 4 (24:35):
What a fascinating thing.
Speaker 2 (24:37):
It's it's amazing how well some of us can can
hide it and how functioning we are with it. And yeah,
the age is that it surprised me a little bit
when I when I was in treatment how early some
people started.
Speaker 3 (24:52):
The youngest the youngest I heard was seven. Wow.
Speaker 2 (24:56):
And she's pretty sure that she was small pot before then.
But as you can imagine, she doesn't remember.
Speaker 1 (25:05):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, well, like you said, I guess it's
never too late, right, I mean, there you go. I
think you know, as as far down in the dumps
as you are at this moment, you never know how
far you can rise if you just that's really something.
Speaker 3 (25:18):
And he's right, your past is your past. There you
go forward.
Speaker 4 (25:21):
Yeah, I love the notebook. By the way, I want
to go on the record to say top five.
Speaker 3 (25:26):
She got very offended. She's married to me?
Speaker 4 (25:35):
Is she offended by the Sukiyana interview that I played?
Speaker 12 (25:37):
This?
Speaker 3 (25:37):
Didn't know she left her? As I guarantee you well.
Speaker 1 (25:41):
Since uh, now that I've endangered the SCUC license, we
should go to break.
Speaker 3 (25:46):
And come back. We will do Vikings News if we
come back.
Speaker 1 (25:49):
Yeah, thank you, Vikings News and sports at the same time.
And again in Vikings News, a big time player force
goes on the I R. And that's very very concerning,
especially after what Charge told us during the chart showing
correct ye about how bad we're gonna need a linebacker
this weekend. Yeah, so we'll tell you that in more
SAZI with sports after this are your Flord Leader the fan.
Speaker 4 (26:17):
Fan Welcome back, Patrick Morning Show. Let's get right into it.
Speaker 1 (26:25):
We're gonna start with Fan five and then transition into
Vikings News, It's.
Speaker 12 (26:28):
Time for Fan five on the Power Trip, presented by
all Around Property Preservation.
Speaker 3 (26:34):
Thank you all Around.
Speaker 6 (26:35):
The newest college football playoff ranking was released yesterday. Number
one is Oregon, two is Ohio State, three is Texas,
four is Penn State, five is Notre Name, six is Miami,
seven is Georgia, eight is Tennessee, SMU is ninth Indianahawk
fell to tenth, eleventh is Boise State, and twelfth is Clemson.
Speaker 3 (26:57):
So you have that going for you in the minute
really quick?
Speaker 6 (27:00):
Sorry, No, it's okay Oregon, Ohio State, Oregon High State, Texas, Oh, yeah, Okay,
Penn State, yeah, Notre Dame really, Miami, okay, Georgia, Tennessee, SMU, Yeah, Indiana,
Boise State, and Clemson. And Clemson plays South Carolina on
(27:24):
Saturday at eleven am. They play They are a two
and a half point favorite. So yeah, I think the
best game of the weekend is well, isn't the Iron
Bowl this weekend? Yes's yeah, it's isn't it Auburn and Alabama?
Speaker 5 (27:41):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (27:41):
And I think on Michigan High States this weekend? Do yeah? Yeah?
Speaker 6 (27:44):
Which have you seen the spread on that game? Hark,
I have not Ohio State is a twenty one point favorite.
Speaker 4 (27:52):
Man, I would definitely take Michigan.
Speaker 3 (27:54):
Take Ohio State, right, hundred bucks.
Speaker 2 (27:56):
I'm sweet say I'd even take that back, yeah, just
because it's gotta be closer than that.
Speaker 3 (28:02):
It's too big of a rivalry. Michigan's they're terrible, terrible.
Speaker 4 (28:05):
Yeah, but twenty one points.
Speaker 6 (28:06):
Yeah, that's what I mean. That's a lot of points.
Is That's what my point is? Yeah, So there is that.
The Gopher's battle the Badgers this Friday at eleven am.
Pregame at nine. The Badgers are two point favorites in
the over under is forty two and a half. Man,
how is the Gopher football season already?
Speaker 3 (28:26):
Right there?
Speaker 6 (28:27):
I say it every year, the fastest season on the
planet is college football. It flies by three months, It
just flies by. It starts and we're like, oh hell yeah.
Then you're like, wait, how was it November already?
Speaker 3 (28:40):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (28:41):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (28:42):
How about this Hogs?
Speaker 6 (28:42):
Mac Brown, the head coach of North Carolina, was fired
yesterday after six seasons.
Speaker 3 (28:47):
He was forty four and thirty two at North Carolina.
But he will coach this week.
Speaker 4 (28:52):
So they gave Mack the knife.
Speaker 6 (28:53):
Yeah, we'll play, Okay, The Wolves are in a free fall.
They lost one seventeen, one eleven in overtime to the Rockets.
The Wolves were down nineteen and the third they forced
ot but in the fourth quarter and overtime Anthony Edward
Anthony Edwards was zero of eight for field goals, zero
(29:16):
of five for threes, and one turnover.
Speaker 3 (29:20):
The Wolves have now lost three straight.
Speaker 6 (29:21):
They're back at it tonight at seven as they battle
the Kings, who are eight and ten.
Speaker 3 (29:26):
Your Wolves are four and a half point favorites. Yeah, brutal, brutal.
Speaker 6 (29:33):
Are you think I think it's a I think it's
a tough mixture. I don't know if that group of
players works well. The highlight of last night was Rob
was Dillingham. Was Rod Dillingham coming off the bench.
Speaker 3 (29:49):
He was great.
Speaker 6 (29:50):
Other than that, they just this group of players that
they put together. Dot dte Vincenzo I think was taken
out in the middle of the third and he did
not come back in the game.
Speaker 3 (29:59):
That's not good.
Speaker 6 (30:01):
Uh yeah, it's just this group of players so far,
seventeen games into it does.
Speaker 3 (30:06):
Not work well together. Still early in the season, I
mean it is, but like you're eight and nine, like
at that.
Speaker 4 (30:11):
I don't play it.
Speaker 3 (30:12):
No, there's a lot of people though that say.
Speaker 6 (30:13):
A lot of people don't think the season starts still Christmas,
which is, you know, about a month from now.
Speaker 3 (30:18):
So we'll see, But I don't know.
Speaker 6 (30:20):
Eight to nine after the high, high, high hopes we
had last season, yep, is not a good start, isn't it.
Speaker 3 (30:28):
Uh? I mean a little of it is. Yeah, the exactly,
it's got to be just.
Speaker 2 (30:32):
Like any of the pro sports, just like any hockey
fan bases want trades to work that quick, like right
when they plug and play right, that's what they're hoping,
But sometimes it just takes a little while to get acclimated.
Speaker 3 (30:44):
They play almost almost I mean yeah. The Wild though,
I'm just saying this, you know, give them a little
more time.
Speaker 6 (30:52):
The Wild are the exact opposite. At thirteen, four and four.
They battle the Sabers tonight at six o'clock in Buffalo.
That game can be heard right on the fan. The
Sabers are eleven nine and one.
Speaker 3 (31:05):
Zach O.
Speaker 12 (31:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (31:06):
The if you were to, you know, make a prediction
back in August to which team would be, it was
just at eight and nine now and thirteen and whatever.
Speaker 3 (31:15):
We are for four and four.
Speaker 8 (31:18):
I think you would have probably had the Wolves and
the Wild flip flop there.
Speaker 3 (31:21):
But they've they've figured it out.
Speaker 8 (31:23):
Perish, I mean, obviously been struggling at home oddly enough.
But yeah, when you start as many games in the road,
I think the familiarity almost is more on the road
than that home.
Speaker 3 (31:35):
Yeah, I don't have it right.
Speaker 2 (31:37):
I'm pretty sure they're nine one and three on the
road best in the NHL. Yeah, it's funny, you know,
I've been on teams like that, but yeah, when you
start on the road like that, there's kind of an
instant comfort to that. Especially when you get the guys
together get out on the road, you just kind of
focus on the game and you start to really build
that bond. Even though we have a lot of returning players,
(31:57):
there's always new faces and you kind of got to
get everybody together and fighting for the fighting for the
same goal.
Speaker 3 (32:04):
I mean, there used to be a kind of a.
Speaker 2 (32:08):
What we used to say in the NHL back when
there was a little bit more going out and partying
on the road and everything, is you know, you learn
to play with each other on the ice, you learn
to play for each other off the ice.
Speaker 3 (32:19):
That's very good.
Speaker 2 (32:20):
So there is something to be said about getting on
the road and getting with the boys and just just
just uh growing that camaraderie. But yeah, that being said, yeah,
the wile they're playing great. Even though they the other
wild homework doesn't look looking great, they're still playing very
very well there. Uh, they're they're they're They've found a
lot of confidence in their game, which is great. Obviously
(32:42):
with Gusson up there with the best goaltenders in the league,
Caprizov coming back and.
Speaker 3 (32:48):
Being healthy right away.
Speaker 2 (32:50):
Uh, it does not look like they're going to be
slowing down at all because they played incredibly well for
the first two periods of that Winnipeg Jets game, did
more than an enough to earn a win. Unfortunately, hellabuck
was that good and it didn't seem to bother anyone.
John Hines I loved it what he had to say
after the game. The players, everybody just was they were
(33:10):
already focused and took their lessons and move it on
to Buffalo, which is exactly what you want to hear.
And take care of business out there against those youngsters.
Be careful, stay disciplined, stay off the power play Gid,
don't give him any power player that taye tooms, that
can fire the puck from anywhere and you know, slow
that Jason Zucker guy down, you know, hamstring them or something.
Speaker 6 (33:29):
But besides that, Week There to Meet starts tomorrow with
a Thanksgiving triple ahead.
Speaker 12 (33:35):
Of us on the Power Trip presented by got.
Speaker 6 (33:39):
EXAs series Back Home Look. Lions hosts the Bears. The
Lions are eleven point favorite. Game time is eleven thirty.
The two and nine Giants battle the Foreign seven Cowboys
at three point thirty. Dallas is a four point favorite,
and then Miami at the Packers and your Packers are
three point favorites.
Speaker 3 (33:59):
All of these games games can be heard right here
on this station.
Speaker 4 (34:04):
Yeah yeah, Is there one that's uh you're looking forward
to more than the others?
Speaker 7 (34:08):
Yep?
Speaker 5 (34:09):
Nah.
Speaker 6 (34:09):
The nine and two Vikings battle the six and five
Cardinals on Sunday at noon pregame at ten. The Vikings
are three and a half point favorites. The over under
is forty six and a half.
Speaker 4 (34:19):
Is there a game tomorrow you're looking forward to more
than the other Oh?
Speaker 3 (34:21):
Sorry, I thought you meant I thought that was a
segue to get me to talk about the the.
Speaker 8 (34:24):
Golfers are playing the Badgers on Friday, right over my head, Well,
I mean in my household, it's the Packers and the Dolphins.
Speaker 4 (34:31):
But that actually could be a good game after what
we uh.
Speaker 6 (34:35):
I mean, the Lions will blow the doors off the Bears.
The Giants Cowboys game is hideous. The over under for
that is thirty seven and a half.
Speaker 3 (34:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (34:46):
If you're like the rest of us and normally just
consumed by watching the Vikings and you finally get an
opportunity to watch the Lions play somebody tomorrow, yeah, you're
going to be knocked out.
Speaker 3 (34:55):
A little depressed. Yeah, so good, They're so good.
Speaker 6 (34:59):
But yeah, the Packer Dolphins game will be great, although
the Dolphins don't really beat good teams and the Packers
just destroyed the.
Speaker 3 (35:06):
Forty nine ers, who aren't very good. Right. Yeah, you
know what's.
Speaker 6 (35:11):
Weird though, Yeah, whether it's gonna be here or not,
I'm shocked we haven't heard any Daniel Jones news. I'm
shocked he hasn't picked a team yet.
Speaker 1 (35:20):
I wonder if that was all subterfuge or just people
making things up? Is the one article I read yesterday
made it sound like he'd be on the practice squad today.
Speaker 3 (35:28):
Yes, same for our practice squad. I thought the same thing.
Speaker 6 (35:32):
I thought he would have been announced as the as
the Vikings are signing Daniel Jones of their practice squad.
Last night there were people, i'm sure the same things
you read that were like, this is about as close
as it possibly is to happening, and it hasn't yet. Yeah,
And I think when Koc said during his press conference,
you know how big of a fan he is of
(35:53):
Daniel Jones, I think that was a little bit of
wink wink at him, you know what.
Speaker 3 (35:56):
I mean, Like, I don't know.
Speaker 6 (35:58):
I think if he I know he's not gonna play,
and I know he's gonna be probably the backup to
the backup, but I think he would just want to
see how Koc operates as a head coach and just
to see if there's any magic for Daniel Jones and.
Speaker 1 (36:12):
Maybe show how good of a guy he really is.
You might be a future head coach. And Brian fores
you are correct, very good point.
Speaker 6 (36:20):
The Vikings placed I even paced Junior on the ir
with a hamstring hamstring injury. Excuse me, We will get
our first injury report today. They also activated Gabe Murphy
off ir Yeah, and what Jam Jam and Davis to
the fifty three man roster. He was a Commander's first
round pick a while back.
Speaker 4 (36:41):
So he was on practice squad somewhere ntil yesterday.
Speaker 3 (36:43):
So there that is that.
Speaker 6 (36:44):
So you know, we'll get our first injury report today.
We'll see what that is and we'll move forward. And
they should handily beat the Cardinals on Sunday. I mean,
the Cardinals are six and five, but man, this the
place on Sunday. US Stadium is going to be jazzed
for this game. It's the first time they've been there
in a long time. It's the first home game in
(37:07):
three weeks. People are going to be pumped, and uh,
it's going to be loud. And the vikings with Sam Darnold,
I think it found something now it'll be closer than
we think it is.
Speaker 3 (37:16):
But yeah, I think it'll be a great game. Good sauce.
Speaker 2 (37:19):
Who do you think Jammin's parents favorite uh music musician.
Speaker 3 (37:25):
Was Bob Marley? There you go, he jam great song,
thank you. Yeah. What do you think, Hoggs? I think
it's probably Bob Marley. Yeah no, no, no, no, no.
Speaker 4 (37:34):
About the brilliance about the game, well, I'm worried about it.
Speaker 1 (37:39):
But it's just because I don't know much about that
squad and I hate running quarterbacks.
Speaker 6 (37:44):
He's good against any defense. Yeah he's slow down well
yeah yeah, yeah, he's.
Speaker 1 (37:50):
It drives me crazy, especially without Pace out there to
chase him down. So we needed we need a big
game out of his backup. You know, we're gonna have
to have have some step up and play well. And
we saw how big of a difference it was when
Cashman came back. I don't think it's as big a
drop off when when I even Pace is gone, but
still it's a big drop off.
Speaker 4 (38:10):
I'm a little worried about that. That said, what you
said is really true.
Speaker 1 (38:14):
We've seen our quarterback really have a great couple of weeks,
and we'll still say it's been under reported just how
good he's been the last couple of weeks.
Speaker 3 (38:20):
Yeah, he's been very good. Last week he was great.
Speaker 1 (38:23):
That overtime drive. Yeah, I mean, by for all intensive purposes.
I looked I forgot to even tell you this. I
looked at Jared beside me right before we went overtime,
and I go.
Speaker 4 (38:32):
I just want to go home.
Speaker 1 (38:33):
Yeah, I'm tired, I get it. Three road games in
a row. I am burnt to a crisp and we're
about to.
Speaker 4 (38:38):
Lose this damn game.
Speaker 3 (38:39):
And you've been there since six forty five forever.
Speaker 1 (38:42):
And twenty seven seconds left in the game, we had
a ten point lead. Yeah, and we're about to lose
in overtime. When they won the toss, I looked at Jared,
I go, I just want to go home.
Speaker 3 (38:50):
It's over. Yeah, you just wanted somebody to score it quickly.
Speaker 1 (38:53):
Right, get it over and then we you know, dude
takes a bad sack obviously thanks to Jonathan Gernard and
YadA YadA. But that drive that he put together, those throws, yeah,
I mean and once on one on like a third down, yeah,
the one, yeah, the one to Hockinson, Yeah maybe, I mean,
those were strikes.
Speaker 3 (39:12):
Man.
Speaker 1 (39:12):
It's great to see him play well like that, and
especially in a situation where all hope is lost well.
Speaker 6 (39:17):
And I also think that one thing you can say
about Sam Darnold through this season with KOC is it
says a lot that they have so much confidence in him,
and I don't know if he's ever had that in
a head coach, because when you pick a guy as
high as you do, and then about six weeks in
it's like any business though, and especially this, like six
(39:37):
weeks into the NFL and this guy hasn't really with
the Jets, hasn't picked it up yet, you start to worry.
Then you start to worry as a head coach in
a GM, we're going to lose our job because this
guy isn't good, and that everybody loses confidence in you.
Koc knows he's going to be here for a long time.
He's one of the best coaches in the NFL, and
he's never wavered on his confidence in Sam, and I
(40:00):
think that's helped Sam a tonne and two nine and
nine and be a giant story.
Speaker 4 (40:05):
If the Lions weren't ten and one.
Speaker 6 (40:07):
Right, they're nine and two and they won the game
last week with a guy up to this season who
nobody thought was any good and they won the game
with a third string quarterback.
Speaker 1 (40:18):
Yes, I know the two We got special guests in
the studio will tell you who. We come right back
to Patrick Morty Show seventy seven Wednesday on the fan
stick out everybody
