(00:00):
Hey, it's the after Party podcast. Let's get her started. It is
straight up nine am on the twentyseventh day of June twenty twenty three.
Good morning, Corey Cove, Goodmorning. There's a nary a whisper of
wind in this podcast studio. That'sso silly. Um, Zacho, zacho,
Welcome back, Oh welcome, welcomeback, Oh back from Las Vega.
(00:22):
Can you tell us why you wereout there? My mom is she
she cuts hair? Yeah, Iknow that yet. And so there's this
international beauty show which has got anunfortunate acronym IB Yes, are you kidding
me? The International Beauty Show?Yeah, yes, so irritable bout.
(00:43):
I was kind of chuckling myself theentire time I brought her down to the
convention center, just helping. That'sthe whole purpose of the trip, was
showing her around. And I can'twait to what the hell are you laughing
about? The beat beats? Sorryanyway, so international uh Dallas syndrome.
(01:26):
You showed your mom around, yousaid, it's just the two of you.
Yeah, she had a tour workerkind of back out last second,
right, Um, you know,I was like, well, no,
you don't have to cancel the trip, you can. She didn't want to
go long and I don't play.Where'd you ge? Where'd you stay?
MGM Grand like that place, giganticcasino. It takes minutes to get out,
(01:49):
like knes is like next door right, and I think it took me
about two hours to get back tomy room. It's a long walk from
It's a deep casino, it is. That is an odd thing because your
when I disappeared that one year, your dad mom found me at the MGM,
you know that, and we hadlunch together. I think they might
have been are they staying there orsomething. I don't know if they were
(02:12):
not, but I remember they foundme and called Sarah Jane and they that's
when they came down. I wasin the high roller room at the MGM,
probably just kicking that place. Whenyou do that, you just pick
a direction. Yeah, I justgo the best. I just like I
love it. I do. Ilove it, love blave blah blah blah.
Especially in the morning, dude,Yeah, or even mid day.
Ain't nobody out if they are outthere at the pool. Yeah, you
(02:34):
know which, by the way,we walked to the pool because I'm going
to be staying there again in Augustfor a bachelor party. Yea, and
uh that it's a longer walk tothe pool, like it is crazy,
like three four five. I don'tknow even know how long it took me
to get to from the room tothe pool. But and you gotta walk
past all these shops and restaurants, and don't you remember isn't that the place
(02:55):
that has like another MGM behind it? Yeah, like the Remonens. Yeah's
it's right right and the pools.I think in between those, isn't it
not even between it's past that, like you gotta past the signature, it's
all it's bright next the top golfif you know where top golfers grant.
It's ridiculous. So do you rememberCorey going there when they actually had animals,
(03:15):
They had kiddies in the MGM?Yeah of course, yeah, yeah.
Mirage had the white Tigers and MGMhad the lions. And the area
where they had the lions is stillthere. It's when you're walking out the
big circular sports book right there whenyou first walk in, right by the
two sports bar, right beside it, there lions just sitting there, just
sitting there. I remember the lasttime I was there, but I'm going
(03:36):
there. Yeah, I go thereprobably every time I go to Vegas.
I do really well at that place. Did you and I walk down there
for three eleven days? I thinkwe made That might have been the last
time I was there. Yeah,I've seen a concert there too. Yeah.
I saw somebody really good there once. I remember they got good slots,
Yeah, they do. They dothe high rollers far down when you
walk, when you walk to theend. No, it's about as far
as I go, trying to thinkof what's now. I've been through that,
(03:57):
the pyramid that's past MGM grant luckall right, yeah, because it's
Excalibur, luxer than mandalay D.Pretty good Mexican restaurant at the Luxe or
yeah, there is, I've beenthere. Yeah, it's called Dairy Queen's.
Um. The one negative though,is you know we were I mean
at the highest flour we're eighteen orwhatever, but we're we're facing the strip
(04:18):
and um, they're the helicopters, the tours they fly right by like the
road that propicate whatever that is due. They were doing that during the Vegas
Golden Nights victory Parade. Yeah, they were, and I don't know.
I don't know why it made menervous. There was something about having a
giant crowd and then having multiple helicoptersfly right down that road that Zach's talking
(04:41):
about. I'm like, I don'tknow if I like this. I don't
know why I felt uncomfortable. It'snot like they're just gonna fly by and
shoot everybody, but if you weregoing to it was the perfect time just
to fly over in spray and theyjust felt very strangely and it's loud and
like, so it's eleven o'clock inVegas, which is probably seven o'clock in
other places, but peak um man, like you're just laying because we got
(05:04):
there and we're just laying there anduh after on Friday, and it was
you could there's no way you couldlike sleep because it was just but being
there, you're far enough down thestrip that it's probably you don't have crazy
preachers out screaming out your window. You probably can't hear the new stuff,
and the lights aren't probably that thingis. It's just it's still the cop
(05:27):
sirens and all that stuff too. That yeah, just because it just echoes
off of all those walls down there, but uh yeah, it's cool.
I mean the Miracle Mile shops.Um, they finished the facade outside there.
Now there's a giant screen screen isbeautiful looking screen. Every right out
between and uh pr used to beyeah, which is nothing yet. It's
(05:51):
gonna be Mexican restaurants coming I thinklater this year. But the outside area
is completely demolished. There's just nothingthere yet. It's copletely gone. Well.
That Mexican restaurant that's going in thereis like a world renowned. Everybody
though Zach can attest it. Justin the last couple of years. Everybody
now has a giant digital screen yea. And during the Vegas Parade, everybody
(06:15):
had just you know, dropped theirown advertising and just had congratulations Golden Knights
with giant so like the whole stripgot behind it. But it almost when
you looked up and down the stripfor the parade, you realized, Wow,
every casino now has a you know, Dallas Cowboys stadium sized scoreboard promoting
their casino. I love awesome. One of the first ones I remember,
(06:38):
like that was down there were themalls at you know, like there's a
mall, you know what I'm saying. The show, fashion show, mall
yeah, and Kim and I wereout there for our anniversary and that this
song shut Up and let Me Go. Yeah, Um was on a commercial
for like an iPhone or something likethat must have played every three minutes and
you could hear it in the hotelroom and all I could shut up let
(06:59):
Me Go and it was so fuckingloud, And that's that's ridiculous. Um,
When are you out there? SoI go a week from tomorrow.
I get there Wednesday afternoon. I'mplaying on Thursday, and then I have
a one way ticket, so Idon't know when I'm coming back. It
just depends. But there's nothing betterthan Vegas for poker. By myself,
it's my favorite thing in the worldbecause because I listen to you guys a
(07:21):
lot of times on podcasts because I'mup too late to catch you guys live.
But there's nothing better than an airPOD's morning walk, rap of coffee
and just work because because I'm gonnabe sitting, hopefully for ten or twelve
hours a day, that like, that's just not good for your brain even
right, So I like doing athirty to sixty minute walk in the morning
(07:44):
just to get stretched like, yeah, I feel like I gotta wake up
and try to time it before Istart playing cards. So I just throw
my AirPods in and go, andat that time of day there's nobody on
Las Vegas Boulevard clean. Yeah,it's once in a while you gotta dodge
a guy that's yea at himself bushor something not that kind of bush.
(08:05):
There's definitely that, And there's definitelyparts of the strip that, even at
eight thirty in the morning with airpods in, I look over my shoulder,
right, just am I being followedthe guy that I just passed thirty
seconds ago? Did he turn around? Is he gonna jump? Because I've
heard a lot of mugging stories atall times of the day in Las Vegas,
(08:26):
so i always have one eye open. I'm always kind of checking my
my six if you will. Yeah, but it's the best. I love
Vegas by myself. It's all businesswhen I'm not playing cards. Honestly,
I'm a lot of times I'm gettingwork done in my hotel room or I'm
walking or I don't know. It'slike it's just I'm super productive and focused
when I have like four days tomyself in Las Vegas. I'm going alone
(08:50):
in August. I can't wait. But those people aren't you? No,
I'm not going with it. There'snobody. Just know. I invited my
brother, but I don't think he'sto go nobody. Yea by yourself?
Yeah that's crazy and uh yeah,do the same thing getting up. I
mean, I'll probably get high, but like you, just you're going on
a sixty minute walk. I meanI I I'll go on. I the
(09:13):
year. When was it when Iwent and got that super nice hotel room
from our guy? Yeah? Igot up early because I it was I
was mostly by myself. I hadnothing to do, so I just walked
around with the I mean I gambled. But that's the best is you know
that you have nothing to do?Yeah? Nobody, nobody, right?
You just you'll get as nigh asyou want. Well, do you want
(09:33):
to tell at eight am you havea fucking cocked I'm getting there next Wednesday
afternoon? Yeah? What's next Thursday? When your pussy falls out? Is
not next Thursday? I hope not. That's that's the world. That'd be
terrible surgical timing. A what isit? Um? Come on, help
me out? What happens? OnThursdays once in a while, like once
(09:54):
a month during the summer, youget your period, the water whatever,
it's no, what the fuck is? It helped me out. Here's a
golf golf Oh okay, what golfis? Isn't that the British? No,
(10:15):
the British isn't until I thought itwas next Thursday. No, no,
no, no, no, theBritish is the twenty first. He
second. Yeah, well, okay, if you're right, and that's fine.
If you are it is either way, then let's but still let's gamble.
Yes, yeah, yes, ofcourse. Um man. Oh I
thought it was the week I wasthere. No, it's as long as
I'm not missing it, that's fine. It's the twenty first. That's how
(10:37):
I was like, what I Igo, I'll go with hockey your period.
I I'm the week he gets he'sthat's the week after he gets back.
So eighth, ninth, tenth,I'm I'm actually leaving the ninth on
my motorcycle. Oh yeah, dude, by myself. I think I'm going
to Deadwood yeah hell myself, hellyeah man ye, and then I'm going
to meet you guys in Duluth. So might I might furthest you've ever gone
(11:03):
by yourself on a motorcycle. That'swhy I've been kind of testing myself.
I wrote to Duluth by myself theother day, you know, just kind
of making turn around, yeah, and turn around and came back. Yea
wow. Yeah. So and youknow, I'll be by myself and I'm
we have a gig that's Saturday night, the eighth out at the Lay Music
Room. Uh, Summerfield Club.I don't know. Um, it's a
rock club show. And then Imight leave that night. Hell yeah,
(11:24):
dude, but I might actually sleepand then get up the next morning.
Either way, I'm by myself onmy motorcycle for five days till I meet
you guys in Duluth. I've neverdriven on a motorcycle cycle in my life.
Um, driving a motorcycle at nightsounds terrifying. It can be,
yeah, it can be. Man, that sounds intimidating. So will you
go the entire way to Deadwood orwill you stop? I'll stop. And
(11:46):
that's the thing I want to aspart of my bit is I have to
just decide what I'm gonna do asi'm doing it. That's kind of like
this new thing I'm doing with mytherapist. Hell yeah. So um,
I'm just gonna not make any plans. Hell yeah, I'm gonna end up
in would. I don't know whenI'm gonna get there. All I know
is I got to be back intoluth Friday morning. Hell yeah, good
for you. Yes, I'm excitedabout it'd be good. And if I
(12:07):
die, I die. You know, if you don't come back, don't
go looking for Yeah, that's exactlyright. Yeah, if I disappear,
are you excited for speed dating? They're setting it up right now in the
room next to us, and Ican't wait. Yep, there's actually rose
petals on the tables. Yeah, they're being cool, you know, I
mean, they're doing their best. They're doing That's what I always hate,
right, because I always hate thatlike these ideas. Emily works her ass
(12:30):
on correct. Emily does a goodjob, but I think almost all of
us still hate doing it despite allof her hard work. Yeah, she's
trying so hard to connect us withthe salespeople, and the salespeople to us.
She's doing her best. I justdon't know why. I honestly,
I'm not kidding. I don't knowwhy they couldn't make them come in at
ten as opposed to I don't knowthat. I don't understand the main guy
(12:52):
that they probably don't want to pissoff. His show ends at ten.
I think there's another session at one. Yeah. Oh, I see what
you're saying. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you're talking about yeah whatever?
Um, yeah, exactly Did youhave something you wanted to add before I
move on to something. Oh,thank you for the rock club show at
Summerfield Amphitheater. It'll be fun lookingforward to it. Speaking of music,
by the way, you guys wouldhave been in Hell Saturday night in Hell,
(13:15):
well because well live was good. They do lightning crashes they have to,
of course it did. Yeah.Yeah, um, we were we
were teasing you that you were tweetingout or whatever, like I hope they
play lightning crashes. Were playing ashow in two thousand and twenty three,
and yeah, how high were you? Uh not? Is that how high
(13:39):
you were? No? Um,we had I was more drunk than anything
because we went to this place. It was a sixteen dollars drink. But
the guys just like they were morein the bottle and he pours the bottle
in the in the glass directly thenhe takes the like the shot thing,
and I don't even know what hewas doing with it was just it was
awesome. It was strong as hell. Which mom got drunk? It was
(14:00):
I can't remember what it was itwas, it was it was on Fremont
Street, So yeah, it waslike an old timer, like like Nions
probably like that. Was it anoutdoor bar just outside the casino. Yeah,
that motherfucking place, dude, thatplace, that's where we will kiss.
Yes, I had two drinks fromthere the last time we were out
(14:20):
there. I was so fucking hammered. Remember I was. I was standing
outside the bus. Do you guysremember the story. I was standing outside
the front of the Jeffer's Line's buswaiting for Sarah and she was already on
the bus with everybody else. BecauseI didn't know where anybody was. I
was so smashed. I had noidea what was going on. And I
only had two drinks from that place. Yeah. It's as smashed as I've
been in a very long time.So did you go down to Fremont just
(14:41):
for the live concert or were youthere just to play? It was?
It was. It was a bigmotivator. I still wanted to get down
there possible because you know I likeplaying at Cerca. Sure, um I
got great machines. Yeah, that'swhere I got my hand paid thanks to
Chors. And it was, youknow, it was weird, the the
contrast from packed Fremont Street with youknow, the people that brings you know
(15:05):
that Premont Street brings down there, and then you go into Circle and it's
just like it's it's goes from likeapocalypse now to just oh this is nice,
check your idea going all that stuff. Man, I love it.
And they have to do that. And again, I know we've talked about
this before, but the dude whoowns that and the d is gonna try
to make the Fremont Street the newstrip. He's trying to He was at
(15:28):
the live show he introduced the band, did he really? He was talking
about, Hey, it's so greatto see you all these people we're bringing.
You know, how were many millionto downtown Las Vegas this year?
Uh? You know you said there'scelebrities here, there's yarmor, yagers over
there, And I was like, how crazy. I mean, it's not
(15:52):
a hard concept to think that youcould do what he's planning to do.
Yes, if you had the money. It's just printing your own fucking cash.
Yeah, what a great idea fora TV show. See you know
owner like somebody like that's flow.I mean that's something that's like an HBO.
Probably don't want you to know everything, but yeah, but I hear
(16:14):
where we come from. Yeah,Josh about the show. Vegas was great,
man Corey. Speaking of poker,I don't know if you had something
else you wanted to get, well, no, because I was just looking
at this video from the World Tiersof Poker, like the men's bathroom look
at all gross? That That sothe thing, the thing that's happening this
year that's kind of out of control. Remember how I mentioned last week that
the lines are so long because everybodygoes to break at the same time,
right, So sometimes you have atwo or three or four thousand people fighting
(16:37):
over about four bathrooms between the Horseshoeand Paris. The new thing this year
is dudes walking into the girl's bathroomor the women's bathroom to skip the line.
Wow, they're getting right in.Security is getting super pissed. And
of course every video of these guyswalking out, you could pick them out
of a lineup you'd be like, that's the kind of guy that isn't gonna
(16:57):
wait in line. That guys goingin the women's bathroom just to prove a
point, just like the worst guysof course, just the worst it looks
on their faces. What am Idoing wrong? Thirty minutes long, twenty
minute get the funk out of awomen's bathroom. I'm sure you have um
(17:21):
see or watched or listened to it. But the thirty for thirty on on
Poker? No, holy shit, you have it. No, it's fucking
great. Which on Moneymaker or whichno Poker? It's kind of on Moneymaker.
It's called Where's My fucking is abrand new h No, it's like
season four of the Only reason Iknow about it because I listened to thirty
thirty podcasts and um, they didone of the podcasts. Quick quickly are
(17:44):
the thirty for thirty podcasts just theaudio of the episode, only smaller versions
like this was only thirty minutes long. It's called all in sparking the poker
room or sparking the poker boom.I should say the two thousand and three
World series Poker Moneymaker should not abit of success. Its host, Casino
teetered on the edge of bankruptcy.Internet qualifiers knocked out most of the memorable
(18:07):
marketing stars, and the production companytask was showing the event on TV knew
nothing about the game. All Inexplores how the two thousand and three tournament
overcame the odds to spark a pokerboom and forever changed poker's place in America.
It's it's brilliant, and again it'sit's just thirty minutes of the actual
thirty for thirty. But um,that's what I was listening to, what
I walked in this morning. That'swhy I wasn't talking to you, because
(18:27):
I was so so I didn't knowany of this stuff, right. But
the whole thing about poker stars,an online poker giving people automatic berths into
the World Series of Pokers. Howthe Moneymaker got in, ye, how
every one of the old school starswhen they saw these people come in,
We're like, okay, easy money. And they were right most of the
(18:49):
time, except for people like Moneymaker. But the really cool thing was the
cameras. And I never thought aboutit when they did this. That was
the first time they'd ever had cameras. They'd shown television poker before. The
reason it sucked is because you couldn'tsee who any anybody's hands. Yeah,
and so this this guy who hisidea was to put it on ESPN,
(19:10):
and ESPN gave him like ten grandor something like that because they were like,
poker on TV sucks, but wegot no programming in August, we'll
do it. Um. He hadto go to the casino, but I
just said opinions and say I wantto put cameras where you can see it,
and they were like, no,you can't fucking do that. And
so he had to do the dealwhere they wouldn't show it live, they
would show it later. The guyhold he um tabbed to do the play
(19:33):
by play or the color commentary, was like, okay, where do I
sit to broadcast? And he's like, we're not doing this live, and
he's like, when the fuck arewe gonna do it? So it's it's
really really fascinating. Yeah, LonMcCarron and Norman Chad and right, And
I'm not trying to throw him underthe bus, but even though he's been
doing it now twenty years, LanMcCarron almost always gets exposed as not quite
(19:55):
understanding poker, sure, which iswhy now that it's been modernized and they
do run it live just on athirty or sixty minute delay, right,
and they show every hand, notback in the day when they just had
it edited and they showed basically theall in and dramatic hands. That's why
they have like Maria ho or JamieKersteader or Nick Schulman. They have like
(20:15):
top pros broadcasting with them. Sure, because a lot of times Lan will
say or ask a really really noviceor amateur question, he was just a
TV like a news right man.He wasn't a poker guy at all.
No, but the beauty of thosetwo and a lot of people are are
would say they are Hall of FamePoker Um contributors because they have been the
(20:37):
voice of poker for twenty years.Yeah right, I've listened to those guys
for hundreds and hundreds of hours dotheir little set up bits where Norman Chad
cracks a joke and Lan McCarron barelyunderstands it. It's been great and it's
into I'll have to go back andwatch that. Oh three, there's a
bunch of different thirty thirties. It'sthis one right here, the black and
red one. It's all in.Um. The reason he hired him to
(21:02):
do wasn't because he had He hiredhim because he thought he was funny.
That literally was why he hired him. I think that guy's funny, That's
why he hired him. Um.But so the camera thing was really really
fascinating. But the story of Moneymaker, that's fucking fascinating. But the really
key thing that I had no ideawasn't just you. Everybody started playing poker
because of that fucking movie us SoRounders was the first time most of us
(21:27):
had ever heard of no limit texashold Him, Right. I grew up
playing poker like everybody did. Iplayed draw and stud and deuces wild and
all these garbage little nickel and quarterhome games. Had never heard of Texas
hold him until Rounders. So fellin love with it, but like played
it with buddies, but we didn'tknow what we were doing, right,
(21:47):
And then Moneymaker wins and oh three, And it's the best example of a
name mattering. Right. If thatguy's name is Chris Smith, yeah,
the boom doesn't happen. But thefact that some random amateur, sure an
accountant out of nowhere, right beatSam Farha and takes down the quote old
school prosat I'm sorry, I don'tI don't want to say the wrong name,
but because I want to say JackieChan. That's not his name,
(22:10):
Johnny Chen, Johnny Yeah, thatguy. Um, he beat that guy.
And the guy was so sure thathe was a fucking novice that he
went all in when he shouldn't have. Yeah, and he said, he
says in this documentary, that guythat you just said that it was like
losing a member of his family whenhe lost that that hand to moneymaker.
That's what he said. I know, And it's it's super hard to explain
(22:32):
in a couple of minutes. AndI don't want to bore the fuck out
of you guys, but you watchyou watch poker twenty years from now.
It is the worst they have.Even the pros are playing years ago,
twenty years ago, so outdated poker. Everybody, and I mean everybody,
if you play the way that theyplayed in oh three, you would get
your ass handed to you. Now. Why why is that that the math
(22:56):
has changed, the game, theoryhas changed that the strategy is so different.
Even I would say even five, six, seven years ago, you're
gonna get your ass kicked, likeyou have to keep changing or the game
passes you by. And there's alot of big names from OH three that
just can't hack it anymore because it'sit's so math driven now and the theory
is very, very, very different. I can't watch it so like on
(23:18):
Poker Go they have which is basicallythe Netflix of poker. They have every
world series that's ever been broadcast.I can't go back more than about six
years without being bored out of mymind. I mean, yeah, he
made a deep run last year,and I mean again, he's a Hall
of Famer for the impact he had. If he doesn't win that year,
(23:40):
the poker boom probably doesn't happen. If Sam Farhi just sit there with his
unlit cigarette and wins, it justfeels like the old school guys are supposed
to win. So he had tolose that year to Moneymaker or this thing
doesn't happen. Everybody fucking started playingit, everybody, And by the way,
it's the reason why I am goingnext year. It's and it's the
(24:03):
thing that Mike McDermott, uh MattDamon's character says at the end of Rounders,
it's touch it it's your dream right, Like it's instead of ripping the
powerball and just hitting for like,I know I have a chance. It's
very, very small, but thepath is there. If Moneymaker can do
it, if Jamie Gold can doit, if Jerry Yane can do it.
There's a whole bunch of quote amateursthat had no business winning the main
(24:27):
event last handful of years. It'slike the top pros like espen yours dead
looks like he's the real deal.Kari Aldemir, who won you some money,
is one of the best players.About the guy and I saw,
oh you, and I saw HuckSeed No no, no, but didn't
you? And I see the oneguy in the who's the bigger guy that
(24:47):
won it a couple of years ago? Well you saw Scott Blumstein. Yeah,
time about that guy. Did hewin it? Did he won the
main? He still playing? He'sbeen pretty quiet sense, Yeah. But
the point is is, like itthe we haven't had a real like stone
cold amateur win in a while,at least where it feels like they shouldn't
be this far. Almost every coupleof years there's somebody that makes the final
(25:10):
table and you go, man, this guy must have ran like a god
to get this far because he lookslike he's out of his league. That's
what I want to be, right. It's always like I've said, if
you if you're with a gall atthe bar and somebody across the bars like,
how the fuck is he with her? You want to be that guy,
right, Be a guy that's outof your league. I would love
to be the guy that all thepoker websites are going carry has no business
(25:30):
being there. He sucks, Andbe like, if I'm winning a million
dollars, I'll gladly go out seventhin the main event. If people think
I have no idea what I'm doing, it would be the dream. And
you guys know that I'm very realisticwhen it comes to the probability of shit
like this I had. I thinkI have almost a zero percent chance of
(25:52):
winning it, but cashing is verypossible. That's a very attainable goal.
It was only about five hours.Say what's the minimum cash in that.
I think it's I don't remember ifit's fifteen, sixteen, seventeen thousands,
something like that, but I onlymissed up that or you know, you
clear, no, you that's whatyou get. So minus the ten k.
So you I think you clear asix or seven grand to min cash.
(26:15):
But I only missed it by likefive hours last year. The bubble
bursts date late on day three usuallysometimes so earlier. You're not playing that
this year, No, I am, that is that's next year. Yeah.
The one I played last week wasjust next week. Sorry, next
week. One I played last weekwas just another smaller event that was super
fun. Okay, cool, goodfor you. Yeah, no, that's
(26:37):
cool. Um. I had aquestion, but I have to do it.
Like so, last the one Iplayed a week and a half agohead
a little over eight thousand people init. This year's Maine is going to
be the biggest of all time.Every record is being shattered. So my
guess is it's going to be nineto ten thousand people, which means I
have to finish in the top fifteenhundred or so to cash. I just
did that last week, finishing oneand twenty first or whatever I finished.
(27:02):
If all those people are paying thatmuch money to get in, how much
of that goes back to the pokerplayers? Most of it? Wow,
that's a lot of a great, great chunk of it is still in the
prize. Pool. Wow, sothat's all cash, right, Yeah,
that's going to be cash. Yeah, so that's ten thousand people showing up.
Yeah, if you're gonna pull offa couple of we've we've talked about
(27:25):
this last year. There are peoplethat register online, there are people that
register in these little kiosks, butthere's a gigantic line of people in the
line for the cage to go buytheir slip to get in. Every man
and woman in that line has tenthousand dollars cash on them. If you
were ever just gonna try to doa smash and dash, I mean,
(27:47):
sure, you're in a casino,so there's thousands of cameras and you're probably
gonna have guns on you within sixseconds if you try it. But everybody
in line has ten thousand dollars onthem, and there's hundreds of people in
line. There's there's moments where thereare probably a couple of million dollars waiting
in line to register. Crazy,if you could find a way to rob
somebody, that line is just loadedwith actual cash, not crypto, not
(28:11):
wire transfers. They have cash inthe rackpacks. Let's go up there and
pretend you're at a casino employee.Apparently that's a new way to do it.
And think about this, that's tenthousand to buy into the tournament.
That doesn't mean that's the last dollarthey have. Some of those fuckers have
probably we've we've thought, we've seenthis firsthand. You got thirty forty fifty
thousand dollars in cash or casino chipson you. That line is a gold
(28:36):
mine, incredible for theft if somebodyhad the guts to try to pull it
off without getting busted. I wantyou to listen to podcast because I ask
some questions I want to ask you, but I don't want to run the
podcast for you. Sure so.Um, there's just terms that they used.
I don't get like, but thisone's not gonna run anything. When
he talks about people being dead moneys, I just mean I means you have
no chance. Yea. That moneyis how many people in that that you're
(28:56):
about to play? Do you thinkare dead money? What over half?
No chance? No shit? Andwe can joke about all this, can
joke about my poker plane. I'mnot in that category. Yeah. Um,
you you know the line and therounders. If you if you can't
spot the sucker in the first thirtyminutes, you are the sucker. If
you give me ten minutes, Ican tell you at a World Series of
(29:18):
Poker table who has no chance ofwinning. The only way they last a
day is if they run unbelievably hot. And that's the variance of poker,
right is you can run super hotan out run bad plane, but the
main event to last ten days.Your luck cannot run ten straight days.
It just can't. So any goodpoker player in the first round can tell
(29:41):
based on betting size alone. Idon't even have to see the player.
If I know what you what youraise too, and it's a number that's
wrong, I'm like, all right, this person doesn't know what they're doing
instantly instant or how they shuffle theirchips before the hands even started. That's
why a lot of good players willshow up at the table and kind of
just spend ten fifteen minutes just talkbullshitting with people before the game starts.
(30:02):
If I see that you can't handleyour chips, you have no chance,
because I mean, you don't spendan you you don't have enough reps.
You have no chance. That's great, man, that's cool. Before the
cards are even out, I meanthis, This podcast got me all excited.
It's pretty neat man, so foryou. Okay, that's the best.
Good luck. Man. Let's goto some speed dating with some random
strangers we've never met. Party podcast, Thank you, We Love you by
