Every Friday around 8:15-8:20 a.m. on KFAN 100.3 the Power Trip Morning show plays the Initials Game presented by Wolf River Electric (WolfRiverElectric.com).

The game involves 12 items people, place, things, phrases or anything as long as they share the same initials. All 12 items share the same initials. The contestants do not know the initials until they are revealed shortly before the game starts. Each item has 6 clues. As soon as the contestants know who or what the host is describing, they yell out their name. Their name is their buzzer. If the contestant gets it right, they get a point. If they get it wrong they are out for just that item. The item does have to be pronounced correctly. It is best out of 12 with tiebreakers if needed. Tiebreaker items have 3 clues.

Saint Paul Federal Credit Union.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
All right, welcome back. Here we go quarter Final number
three of the Initials Invitational twenty twenty five. The room
is full.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
The smelling salts were found?

Speaker 1 (00:52):
Correct?

Speaker 3 (00:53):
Correct? I believe they were found? I think you guys
winning the.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
Hockeys go parish representing parish. Would you go into Chris's
cabinet out there? Is that where they were?

Speaker 4 (01:02):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:03):
Who found the smelling salts? Do you guys all do that?

Speaker 1 (01:05):
There? Though, did you Tatum?

Speaker 5 (01:06):
Yes, no, no, no, no, I'm good. No, I I
that's that. That scares me again. I think I've been
on the show before talking about how unathletic I was
as a person, so like, I don't have never tried it,
and I think that would ruin my game.

Speaker 6 (01:23):
I'm still a rattle by the reaction to it. Like
he didn't even flinch.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
He didn't flinch.

Speaker 4 (01:28):
Weird me out.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
The man's a machine Johnson.

Speaker 5 (01:30):
Yeah, oh well yeah, because he probably did like a
million times.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
It's like it's chasing the dragon, right.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
The first time you do Heroin, it's amazing, but then
you spend the rest of your life trying to get
that high again. I think Ron is so immune to
smelling salts he's never going to get.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
That rush ever again, which is really depressing.

Speaker 5 (01:45):
I mean, that's how I feel when I drink is Celsius,
So I don't think smelling sauts would do me good.

Speaker 6 (01:49):
That's fair though, Celsius really Okay.

Speaker 7 (01:51):
Well that makes me feel a little more hardcore.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
Everybody ready, let's do it. Let's go all right.

the history of the game. It's something like sixty plus
percent something like that.

Speaker 8 (05:17):
You know, the greats don't keep track of percentage story,
but I think you're probably pretty close there.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
I had you slotted it like fifth or sixth seed,
and then a month ago you put on an absolute
clinic into luth And what do I have you at third?

Speaker 4 (05:31):
You got me three?

Speaker 1 (05:31):
Yeah, I mean Marnie's Barnie and AJ's AJ.

Speaker 4 (15:56):
I lose these all the time.

Speaker 1 (16:02):
Oh often. Clue number four often ends up in bowls Geesus.

Speaker 3 (16:14):
I think it was Greg. Can you do it one
more time quickly?

Speaker 1 (16:16):
In bowls?

Speaker 4 (16:17):
Greg?

Speaker 1 (16:18):
Yeah, Greg was first Jesus, Greg, go for it. Potato salad.
That is the correct answer. That is potato salitato.

Speaker 3 (16:26):
You had it too.

Speaker 7 (16:26):
I missed so much earlier.

Speaker 5 (16:27):
But then I could remember the first clue, and I
was like, if.

Speaker 7 (16:29):
I ring in and it was dumb, No, you go
for it.

Speaker 1 (16:32):
Now you have to go for it right now. It's
game on Lord, all right. Greg Sweatberg takes the lead.
He has three, Zach has two, Tyler has one. We
are halfway through the game, still six items remaining, plenty
of time.

Speaker 3 (16:44):
Here's number seven of PS.

Speaker 4 (16:47):
Clue number one one of the.

Speaker 1 (16:49):
Words it comes from Greek, meaning to mold or give form.
Clue number two is often a choice.

Speaker 4 (17:09):
Clue number three.

Speaker 1 (17:11):
This involves subtle or significant change. Dear God, that was
a nine way tie. Zach hit the old instan replay man.
This is gonna be really tough to tell.

Speaker 3 (17:26):
All right, let me boost the audio here really quick.

Speaker 4 (17:30):
This is.

Speaker 3 (17:34):
We need a buzzer system.

Speaker 1 (17:36):
It's involves subtle or significant change. Anybody have any guests
something significant change.

Speaker 7 (17:48):
I kind of hear maybe can crack.

Speaker 3 (17:52):
Do it again, Zachary sausage change change What I mean
I'm hearing, I'm hearing Tyler first.

Speaker 1 (18:08):
Let me see he says sweatburg but again he also
thinks of sweat bergs.

Speaker 10 (18:11):
I'm slowed down and he just wants to again even.

Speaker 3 (18:25):
Uh like that, we can't tell.

Speaker 1 (18:33):
It is a little bit fashion that change, just as
we know who rang in, just so we can try
to decipher the words that are trying to be said.
So Corey, Tyler, and Greg were the three that rang in.
Zacon Tatum you did not know, all right, So it's
between the C T and G one more to.

Speaker 3 (18:50):
Change anybody.

Speaker 1 (18:55):
Corey first. If you hear listen for the Corey in change,
Oh man, it might be Corey. I think I hear
Corey first in change. And that's probably because more of
the the cuss sound is more and his whole his
name is it's an advantage to have your name. You

(19:15):
hear the reg part of Greg and you're already done later.

Speaker 3 (19:19):
Yeah, very short, succinct.

Speaker 1 (19:21):
Yeah, this is going to be super controversial. We're going
to give it to I was just about to say
provis and now I can't tell in change. This might
be the most difficult replay in the history of this game.
Well holds three of you almost simultaneously.

Speaker 2 (19:40):
Normally, this is when Sweedberg would call in and give
his ruling. Yeah, a little biased. Sauce is adamantly pointing
to Greg. But I think he just wants a raise.
I hear Corey, but might be working. By the way, Brett,
what do you think, Brett? Yes, you think it's Corey too.
Brett thinks it's Corey as well. All right, we're gonna change.

Speaker 3 (20:02):
Once you see it. Why don't we all write the
answer down to and maybe I.

Speaker 1 (20:05):
Have no doubt that all three of you know it.
I would bet the house all three of you.

Speaker 7 (20:08):
I have forgotten it by now.

Speaker 1 (20:11):
All right, we're making this is super controversial. Look my game,
my rules. We're going with Corey. Corey, go for it.
Plastic surgery. Uh, your name is done before theirs are done.
So let's just give you the advantage that you've got.
You got through your name the fastest at least. Uh,
plastic surgery gets Corey provis on the board.

Speaker 3 (20:32):
We're gonna catch had by the way, Yeah, okay, sure.

Speaker 4 (20:35):
I should have run.

Speaker 1 (20:36):
We're gonna catch hell for that one. But that's all right,
my game, my rules, guys. I would have given that
one to Marty. Greg has three, Zach has two, Tyler
and Corey on the board with one each. Here's number
eight of p s. Clue number one is thick and flat.

(21:00):
Clue number two is known to be really hot.

Speaker 7 (21:04):
Tatum, go for it, porterhouse steak.

Speaker 6 (21:08):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (21:09):
That's a great.

Speaker 1 (21:10):
Guess, not a bad guess at all. All of that fits,
not bad at all.

Speaker 7 (21:14):
I'm sure the next one will be absolutely ridiculous.

Speaker 1 (21:16):
All right, Tatum, solid guests, but out for the rest
of number eight.

Speaker 3 (21:20):
Clue number three requires proper handling.

Speaker 6 (21:26):
Tyler, okay, postage stamp.

Speaker 1 (21:29):
No, I see what you're doing there. Some of that
fits as well. All right, So we're down to Zach, Corey,
and Greg. Clue number four typically circular, but it definitely
doesn't have to Zach, Yeah, pizza slice and Greg you've

(21:50):
typically circular, all right? Anyway.

Speaker 3 (21:53):
Number five touches food.

Speaker 4 (22:00):
Oh. Final clue Clue number six.

Speaker 1 (22:07):
This is a clay or ceramic slab that creates crispy crusts.

Speaker 11 (22:14):
Greg yep, pizza stone.

Speaker 4 (22:16):
That is a.

Speaker 1 (22:18):
Pizza stone stone, and that gives Greg point number four.
All right, So here's the situation. Greg is almost on
the brink of winning. There are four to go. Tatum,
you need all four to tie Greg, but you're not
out of it yet. Tyler and Corey are three back
with four to play. Zach, you are two back with

(22:39):
four to play. Greg has four. Here's number nine of PS.

Speaker 4 (22:44):
Clue number one.

Speaker 3 (22:46):
There's a chance you see a crocodile.

Speaker 6 (22:51):
Tyler, Okay, palm.

Speaker 1 (22:53):
Springs, crocs and palm springs.

Speaker 6 (23:01):
There's a chance you can see one anyway.

Speaker 1 (23:04):
I guess there is a chance you could see win
in paulm springs. It's not zero I would be the
first to say it's not zero percent.

Speaker 6 (23:10):
Looked under the table, there's none here likely enough.

Speaker 4 (23:14):
Clue number two.

Speaker 1 (23:15):
Popularized by a twentieth century French athlete Greg yep polo shirt.

Speaker 3 (23:22):
That's right, all right, Swedburgs locked in.

Speaker 2 (23:26):
I told everybody this way, I said, this is he's
gonna win my goodness.

Speaker 1 (23:32):
Ollo shirt. All right, Greg, you have a three point
lead with three to go, So Zach you need to
get all three to tie him and force a tie breaker.
Any other combination in Sweatburg's the winner for the rest
of you, though, obviously you want to get on the
board or get your second point or Zachary even chase
a wild card spot. So everybody still wants to run
up the scoreboard. But Greg going for the win. Zach

(23:52):
needs the final three for the tie. Here's number ten.

Speaker 4 (23:55):
Of PS clue number one.

Speaker 1 (23:58):
It's exact origins are unclear, but it was introduced to
Britain in fifteen fifty seven.

Speaker 3 (24:10):
Oh here's a clue.

Speaker 4 (24:11):
Clue number two.

Speaker 1 (24:12):
Connected to Disney starting in twoenty and nineteen.

Speaker 4 (24:24):
Clue number three involves.

Speaker 1 (24:26):
Two intersecting lines. Clue number four indicates again Clue number

(24:48):
five often follows grades.

Speaker 6 (24:55):
Tyler, Yeah, plus sign that's right.

Speaker 3 (24:57):
That is a plus sign as in Disney plus.

Speaker 1 (25:01):
The plus sign is the right answer, and that mathematically
locks it up for Greg Sweatberg. He will be moving
on to face the Lamberts in round two. Dove and
Sauce versus Sweatboard. But there are two items left. Everybody
still has a chance to get a couple of points.
Tyler and Zach you could get to and probably punch
a wild card spot. Tatum needs to get on the board. Corey,
you can guarantee a spot in the next year's tournament,

(25:23):
and Greg can just shut you out if he wants
and get the last two. Here's number eleven of PS.

Speaker 4 (25:29):
Clue number one.

Speaker 1 (25:31):
You could argue if you can see all of it,
you're finished.

Speaker 4 (25:41):
Clue number two.

Speaker 3 (25:43):
An average one is about four and a half inches.

Speaker 6 (25:50):
Tyler, Yeah, plastic straw.

Speaker 4 (25:55):
Makes sense.

Speaker 3 (25:55):
Iought to add that one makes sense. Tyler out for
the rest of number eleven.

Speaker 4 (26:00):
Clue number three.

Speaker 1 (26:02):
You might put your tongue on it.

Speaker 4 (26:10):
Clue number four, right, Corey on that.

Speaker 1 (26:15):
I guess it's hard to get Corey. If it was
Tatum credat third tiebreaker, my gosh, sweat brig, what is
it going to take to get iheard to pay for
a buzzer?

Speaker 11 (26:25):
I was I told you guys was sploring this last
week and actually getting buzzers for this greaty one.

Speaker 7 (26:31):
I think I should just be allowed to get on
the board.

Speaker 3 (26:34):
Sorry, I'm Corey. If it was Tatum Cred, back it up.

Speaker 1 (26:39):
It's the third tiebreak number four, right, Oh, wait a minute,
do it again.

Speaker 4 (26:44):
Clue number four right, Oh.

Speaker 1 (26:46):
Tatum's first sweet pobsticle stick. Yeah, that was definitely Tatum.
All right, sweet, you're on the board. You're officially not
shut out. You're eligible for next year. All right, popsicle stick,
it's everybody at least one point. Here's number twelve, final
item of PS. Clue number one willing to destroy clue

(27:10):
number two.

Speaker 3 (27:10):
You're gonna have to feed it. Tatum.

Speaker 1 (27:13):
Yeah, paper shredders right, solid fits. Tatum gets the last
two and automatic. I just won because you're back next
year automatically. Now, nice run. Final two gets you eligible,
not even eligible, locked into twenty twenty six.

Speaker 3 (27:29):
Well done, that was really good.

Speaker 1 (27:32):
All right, Sweatburg with five moving on to face Dove
Lambert and Meat Sauce Paul Lambert in round two. Zachary,
what happens now that Greg Sweedburg has won today?

Speaker 2 (27:42):
Well, Greg has one, which means you'll receive ten percent
off your entire order now through Monday in store online
at radc dot com when you use the promo code initials.
Discount does not apply to toppers. Congrats, Thank you rad Co.

Speaker 1 (27:57):
Thank you. Everybody, go get your fixed this weekend. So
you played the underdog card, you acted like you couldn't win.

Speaker 11 (28:03):
And then you and one with five just cruised again.
It's sometimes the clues come easier than the others. Some
people just have a week, and he's having a week.
I just wanted to call do this wins the game?

Speaker 1 (28:18):
Oh, man, Corey, you had plastic surgery earlier in the game.

Speaker 3 (28:22):
Yeah, and he came back.

Speaker 9 (28:23):
I was sitting on Patrick swayze I was sitting on
Phoenix Suns.

Speaker 8 (28:27):
Pittsburgh Steelers is kind of one of those ones you
have too many things in your head, like there's a
lot of stuff for ps.

Speaker 1 (28:33):
Trying to force.

Speaker 9 (28:34):
Okay, what I have in my mind is that match
and it doesn't.

Speaker 3 (28:37):
You're trying to find a way.

Speaker 8 (28:38):
But yeah, wellbreakers and tiebreakers were Pittsburgh Steelers and Phoenix,
so you.

Speaker 1 (28:45):
Would have been ready.

Speaker 4 (28:46):
I would have been ready.

Speaker 6 (28:47):
Peter Sellers wasn't going to come up.

Speaker 1 (28:49):
Probably not.

Speaker 3 (28:50):
Yeah, that's like the first that's my head.

Speaker 6 (28:55):
That's going to be a clue.

Speaker 9 (28:56):
So what he said, what he said thick but flat.
I was thinking of Patrick Swayzey because that Shippendale's skid
with Forrest. I was saying, there there's one, but I
don't think it did connects, but there's something there.

Speaker 3 (29:09):
By the way, credit to this group of five.

Speaker 1 (29:11):
There were a handful of clues that in a normal
week with Perish and Sauce and Marnie and and it
would have been a giggle fest because we're all a
bunch of sophomoric idiots. You guys handled it with grace
and class, but I said thick and flat. Nobody did
a oh yeah, I've bet sauted back there, but he
did the four and a half inches obvious. Put your

(29:33):
tongue on it. Nobody said anything. Then put your hand
on Nobody said anything. Thank you for being a little bit.
You're not used to this. It's too intense. Man's thinking it. Yeah,
come on, serious, Corey, thanks for the time.

Speaker 4 (29:48):
Man.

Speaker 1 (29:48):
Tonight's TV.

Speaker 3 (29:50):
Tonight TV.

Speaker 1 (29:51):
You in an art spin, uh Tatum. People can watch
your stuff on Vikings dot com. And when does the
Vikings Entertainment Network stuff really hit the ground running?

Speaker 5 (29:58):
It's Hitten but a NFL network. Tomorrow I will be
live on the NFL network. It's back together some weekend,
so we're gonna have all the NFL reports coming.

Speaker 7 (30:07):
In so I get to represent the Vikings.

Speaker 1 (30:08):
When is that?

Speaker 7 (30:09):
What time tomorrow afternoon? I do not know a time yet.

Speaker 5 (30:12):
I have an interview with a player, which I think
everyone will be very excited about that.

Speaker 7 (30:16):
I cannot say, but you know we can guess. Hint, hint, wink, wink,
got it.

Speaker 3 (30:20):
Got it, got it?

Speaker 1 (30:21):
Tyler. I know we talked to you about this in Duluth.
But you have some broadcasting, you know, hopefully coming up
relatively soon.

Speaker 6 (30:27):
You're gonna hear my voice. If you watch curling and all,
you're gonna hear a lot of me this year.

Speaker 3 (30:31):
But till I get.

Speaker 8 (30:32):
Busy in the meantime, hit me up, social media, corporate
team building of that stuff like that.

Speaker 6 (30:35):
