Speaker 1 (00:07):
Today on the Daily Bailey, I have some affordable rituals
that feel like luxury, so maybe write some of these down.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
I'm going to Okay great.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
Number one solo are friend dates for drinks and dessert
at a high end and or historic hotel.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
Oh that's cool.

Speaker 1 (00:23):
You'll get to take in the atmosphere without the big
price tag of actually staying at the hotel.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
Just go out and get some drinks at that fancy hotel.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
Number two buy one beautiful thing from the Farmer's Market.
Even if it's just a baguette or a bouquet. It
sets the tone. One beautiful thing.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
Number If you haven't gone to Minneapolis Farmer's Market, it
is dope it.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
Tomorrow Dale one, though he is very different.

Speaker 3 (00:48):
Okay, is going to rain all weekend, Jenny.

Speaker 4 (00:51):
Today, it's kind of scattered Tomorrow, not so much maybe
in the evening, but just kind of cloudy and gloomy,
fish looking.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
Number three.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
Head to a beautiful park early in the morning with coffee.
No one is there, and it feels like you have
your own private.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
Estate of.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
Nobody's there, no a private estate. I love that, ye,
I think that this is something genuine. Do organize one
tiny corner to look boutique beautiful, like have a tray
with perfume, jewelry or a book that can change your
room's mood.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
Just one little corner to look super boutique. I love
that number four.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
Have a soft morning's only rule once a week, no phone,
just slow coffee, open the window, and have something gentle
playing on like a record player.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
Ooh like that, like that anxiety, like.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
That anxiety anxiety number I think I'm five.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
Add lemon and herbs to any meal.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
It feels like restaurant food and costs basically nothing.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
If you grow or buy once a week, that's cool.
I love that.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
Wear perfume or lipstick at home just for you.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
You are the occasion.

Speaker 4 (01:56):
No, because if I'm eating something, I'm getting lipstick all
over everything. I like perfume, Okay, I'll take okay, perfume.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
Wear that all right. Have a signature tea for the
evening wind down. It feels like a ritual and smells
like peace. Have a signature tea also, then you'll have
Lov's Dog yourself. Every day you'll have the same tea,
and then you'll be like, oh, it's time for bed.
Intentional candle lighting, not just for the scent, for morning journaling,
slow dinners, or just listening to a good podcast. Light

(02:25):
some candles, prep a solo cheese plate for an afternoon snack.
You don't just need to wait on guests to come
over to do your own cheese tasting.

Speaker 5 (02:35):
Alissa would love that. She just buys the charcuterie boards.
We almost never have people over. But she's like, I
want to feel fancy. Yeah, exactly, it's a ritual. It's
making a luxury.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
Lay out your clothes the night before, even your pajamas.
It feels like having your own personal stylists, even if
it's just.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
You yck clothes.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
Right, you're on deck clothes, and that's what the list has.
But people were commenting some of their own ideas. This
lady says, I like to make myself a blue cheese
all of Belvidere Martini and play sixties Bossa Nova music.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
It feels like I'm a character from mad Men.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
This person says, I am obsessed with spa showers, candlelight
showers while playing jazz at night before bed.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
I'll never recover best self care. Ever, let's see.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
This person says in summer, I'll eat dinner outside on
a bistro table on my patio with a white tablecloth.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
You feel very paush.

Speaker 3 (03:29):
These are cool. These are ways to feel fancy for
almost no post.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
Yes, to feel luxury for very little money.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
This person said, instead of a dresser, I bought an
antique china cabinet painted a perfect chalky white. So my
clothes and evening bags are stored and displayed like.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
A cute boutique.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
Ooh ooh.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
This person says, very simply using a saucer with your
tea cup is life changing.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
When you have people over use.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
A teapot and sugar bowl and cream pitcher served on
a tray, that's cool, feels very fancy. So those are
things that make you feel like you're living in a
luxury affordable rituals.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
And if you miss tholes, maybe we can put them
up online, or if nothing else, you can go back
and listen on the iHeart app. Just rewind.

Speaker 1 (04:07):
I'll reshare the because I did get it from TikTok.
I'll reshare it on my Instagram Baily on Air and
you can follow me there and I'll post it there.

Speaker 3 (04:13):
Bailey on Air, very good, Thank you so much. Yeah,
all right, we are gonna do another pair of weekend
tickets coming up another less than half an hour, nine
thirty five. So this is our last pair that we're
doing during the morning show. But if you want another
chance to win tickets for the show tomorrow night, go
to the iHeartRadio app follow or a set a preset
for KTWB. It's easy to do. Once you're on KTWB,

(04:35):
tap that plus sign the preset button, screenshot that, and
then DM that to one oh one three KDWB. All right,
get up, let's move. Here we go.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
It's Friday.

Speaker 3 (04:47):
Make you feel good. It's the Friday morning dance party
on KDWB. Something middle, fine, little. It's surprising how common
it is at Yellowstone Park for some tourists from Rochester, Denver.

(05:08):
You get out of the car and go, hey, Kate,
get a picture of me in this bison and go
over and walk up to the bison. There is a
video going around of some dumb tourist at Yellowstone going
up to a bison with a baby. They're holding the baby.

Speaker 1 (05:24):
Any normal there.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
It was shocking.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
I can understand if you want to go up and
think you can get close to a bison, but to
bring a small toddler.

Speaker 6 (05:33):
There's signs everywhere, but yet nobody pays attention to them.
I get it as an adult, you're thinking, Oh, it
won't happen to me, but you're gonna do it with
your kids. That's what really dumbfounded.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
Us on all of it.

Speaker 3 (05:44):
Wouldn't be just really satisfying to watch somebody who's like,
you know, for a minn know, Trenton, please walk up
to a bison and the bison head butts them into
the air about forty feet and they land on a cactus.

Speaker 5 (05:56):
Bison have the horns too, right, Yeah? So what if
they butt me up in the air and then I
fall back on the horn? Some final destination type stuff
like I.

Speaker 4 (06:04):
Recall in a recent trip to Yellowstone that someone on
the show took them telling their son, Hey, get out,
get out and go pet the bison. Of course, come out, Sharson,
Come out, Sharson, go pet.

Speaker 3 (06:14):
I'm have made a good video. I'm gonna do it.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
The guy's son's name was Carson. Yeah, isn't your son's name?
What a small world? Come on, Carson. Of course I
did because it'd.

Speaker 3 (06:25):
Because don't go pet that bison. And if you go
to Yellowstone, you're gonna love it. It is magical, just amazing.
Get an early start. Get up early, Jenny gave me
this advice, and get up early and see all the
sights before the tours start packing it or.

Speaker 4 (06:41):
Else you'll be waiting even to get into Yellowstone for
a long time.

Speaker 3 (06:46):
Well, there can be like probably an hour long wait
at the main gates to get into Yellowstone. So get
up early, all right, come back in a second. On
Katie w B. What's coming up by Jenny.

Speaker 4 (06:56):
Is Jenny's been on Reddit and we're gonna talk about Well,
first we're gonna give the next winner for the weekend ticket,
so we'll say the instagram handled name, So make sure
you're listening for that if you entered that contest.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
If you haven't, go to our Instagram and enter.

Speaker 4 (07:07):
But then I'm gonna do Jenny's been on Reddit and
we're gonna talk about films that are very specific. For instance,
think of a film where someone camouflages themselves into the background. Oh,
gott if you can think of one, okay, b I
already has one, and I will give you. If you
can't think of one, I'll give you some list of one.
But it's a very specific film. List films where a
boy befriends a misunderstood creature.

Speaker 3 (07:26):
This sounds like I know that one. That's a good one.

Speaker 1 (07:29):
Yeah. I occasionally have little movie marathons where I order
myself a pizza and I watch three movies that have
something specific about it.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
So I'm going to make a list of these.

Speaker 4 (07:37):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (07:37):
Okay, we'll do that next don KDWBB Okay, last time
we're doing it on the Dave Ryan Show is give
you the current winner for the weekend contest gets you
the tickets for the show tomorrow night. Here is the
last name we're gonna do on the show. Good luck.

Speaker 4 (07:54):
Anka Peterson Underscore is your Instagram handle Anka A N
N I Ka Peterson s O N underscore.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
So Anica Peterson Underscore.

Speaker 3 (08:05):
I hope you get a winner. So I'm going to
start my timer right now. You've got ten minutes Anica
to call us at six five one nine eight nine
KATIEWB and name your tickets.

Speaker 5 (08:14):
Or if you know Anica, tell her call us right
now if you blow up her phone so she could
blow up oars.

Speaker 3 (08:18):
Yeah, okay, ye go do that and let her know
that her name is all over Katie WB. So she
can win those tickets. Jenny's been unreaddit.

Speaker 4 (08:26):
We're gonna talk about very specific film lists, so I'm
gonna quiz you guys.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
Let me know if you can think of something.

Speaker 4 (08:33):
First off, films where a boy befriends a misunderstood creature.
Raise your hand. Dave's got his hand raised. Bailly has
a hand raised, so does Vaunt. On three one two three,
go e g.

Speaker 2 (08:44):
Oh, no, I was gonna say, Leelo and Stitch. Oh, well, let's.

Speaker 4 (08:48):
Cool friends, Yeah, so not really, Okay, up next, films
where someone camouflages themselves into the background.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
Raise your hand if you have one.

Speaker 4 (08:57):
Bailly has her hand raised, Dave questioning, is set a
look in his face like I don't know that well,
Bailey Hunger Games. Yes, that's one of the last pirates
of the Caribbeans. On there Sherlock Holmes, The Adams Family,
Pink Panther. Okay, and I'll go back to the boy
befriends of misunderstood creature. Also How to Train Your Dragon
and The Iron Giant, where other examples.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
Wow Iron if you want to watch Iron Giant, get
some tissues because that's sad, all right.

Speaker 4 (09:25):
These are films where broken women smile into camera. Raise
your hand if you have one, David Bailey, have their
hands raised.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
All right, Dave, what do you have?

Speaker 3 (09:36):
Jenny?

Speaker 4 (09:37):
Okay, I don't have that on my list, but that works.
I have Pearl okay, also on my that is on
my list. Also the movie Smile Yes, I, Tanya, Midsummer
and Resurrection are ones on this list.

Speaker 3 (09:51):
Scary ones.

Speaker 2 (09:52):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (09:52):
These are films with toilet death scenes. Raise your hand
if you can see and think of a film that
has a toilet death the scene in it.

Speaker 2 (10:02):
Bailey is good at this. I feel like maybe maybe, Okay,
what do you think it has to be one of
the final destinations? Is there anything on that list on
this list?

Speaker 1 (10:11):
No?

Speaker 4 (10:11):
But I can't speak for all Washed Away Okay, I
feel like Flushed Away.

Speaker 1 (10:16):
It takes place in a toilet and someone's got to
die in that movie.

Speaker 3 (10:19):
I would say Psycho because it's not the toilet, but
it is the bathroom next to that.

Speaker 4 (10:24):
Doesn't count, so it's toilet desk. So Jurassic parks on there.
Oh yeah, the guy gets eaten.

Speaker 2 (10:31):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (10:31):
Zombie Land so good pulp fiction. I've never seen that,
but that's a classic.

Speaker 3 (10:36):
John Bold is coming out of the bathroom and he
gets machine gun to death.

Speaker 4 (10:39):
Yeah, so wow, okay, Oh, Bostin Powers and Scream two
are the lists are on this list for films with
total death scenes.

Speaker 3 (10:47):
I don't want to die on the toilet because Austin
Powers is slamming the other enemy's head in the toilet.
Oh yeah, and then he dies.

Speaker 1 (10:54):
Gosh.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
Maybe I'll just watch all the Austin Powers. That's little
thing I'll do, all right. This is an easy one, okay.

Speaker 4 (11:00):
Films where clowns dance after murdering people. Raise your hand
if you have one. Okay, everyone's hand and just raise.
We'll start with vaant It. Yes, that's on here by
I was gonna say Joker. Yep, that's on here as well.
And Batman is also on here, so good job, everybody.

Speaker 6 (11:15):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (11:16):
Here's another one.

Speaker 4 (11:17):
Films about Found Family featuring the song send Me on
My Way by Rested Brute. So about Found Family featuring
the song send Me on My Way by Ny Matilda
and Ice Age. So there's only two and that's probably
the only two.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
Is that one?

Speaker 4 (11:38):
Okay, we'll do you want one or two more, Let's
do this one.

Speaker 2 (11:41):
It's easy, okay.

Speaker 4 (11:42):
Films where a green monster lives alone but just wants
to be loved.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
Hands are raised bos on the phone, So, Dave, what
do you.

Speaker 3 (11:49):
Guys are gonna say Shrek or Grinch both?

Speaker 4 (11:52):
I was gonna say Shrek, good job? And then also
Creature from the Black Lagoon in Monta Shrek? Okay, sure,
all right? One more films where the socially awkward girl
gets a makeover but secretly has a motive. Socially awkward
girl gets a makeover but secretly has a motive.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
Bailey, you start this, miss congeniality.

Speaker 4 (12:15):
She has a motive, I guess, but I think it's
like a little Okay, I'll count that.

Speaker 3 (12:21):
Okay, Dave, do you just say clueless? But I'm probably wrong?

Speaker 4 (12:24):
Okay, Well, I don't think she really had a motive.
I think she was really innocent and then she became
kind of bratty and coluthless.

Speaker 2 (12:29):
Princes Diaries.

Speaker 4 (12:32):
Mean Girls is on here, but I was like, no,
John Tucker must die. And then I don't know this one,
but it's called Do Revenge. She looks like it's a
Netflix original, so I don't know how many people.

Speaker 2 (12:42):
Have seen that one? She gets a makeover. Very specific
motive films, Yes, that was fun.

Speaker 3 (12:47):
Thank you. Jenny. Will do Dave's Dirt coming up in
a minute on Katie WB and talk about Serena Carpenter's
controversial album cover. Next, Give you the Dirt Dave's Dirt
on Katie w B. We do some things to do
this weekend. I know we had Stephanie in earlier today
and you can follow her on Stephanie dot Rosner R
O S E n E R on Instagram. But there's

(13:09):
some things going on this weekend, just kind of be in general.
Stone arch Bridge Festival is this weekend. Juneteenth Celebration is
at the Midtown Global Market downtown. That is tomorrow noon
until three. Food truck Extravaganza the Fairgrounds in Lake Elmo.
That's tomorrow eleven until eight o'clock. Saint Louis Park Park
Tacular is going on right now through Sunday. Saint Paul

(13:33):
Pride Festival in Parade is this weekend, and the Links
host the Sparks tomorrow at noon, and the Minnesota United
hosts the San Diego FC at oleans Field tomorrow at
seven o'clock. Buffalo Days continuing Buffalo Waite Park Family Fun
Fest up in Saint Cloud area Winona. Steamboat Days is

(13:54):
at Levy Park today through Sunday. The Soul of Daryl
and John, A Night of Hall and Oates is that
the chan Hassen Dinner Theater tonight, the Weekend in concert
tomorrow US Bank Stadium. I Love the Eighties tours at
the Uptown Theater in Minneapolis, featuring a flock of seagulls.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
Ooh sounds fun. You like them? You love their hair?

Speaker 3 (14:16):
Sure? Okay, sure, why not? And the Minnesota do Zoo
Wild Night Concert starts tonight four stages. And that is
going on at the Minnesota Zoo. People are buzzing about
Serena Carpenter's album cover. Google it, take a look at it.
She's on her knees and a guy is holding her
firmly by the hair like a dog. So it's either

(14:36):
sexist or it is her representation of how men treat women.

Speaker 1 (14:40):
Yeah, it's something, it's something, and I would love to
hear from her what she thinks it means. There are
really big changes coming to Instagram, Dave. I know Jenny
will probably be excited about this. Now users may rearrange
posts to customize the appearance of their grid, and so
usually it's in chronological order, but now like you could
have like the three pin to the top, but now

(15:02):
you can move them all around and do whatever you want.

Speaker 3 (15:04):
Idea, yeah, you pictures of the top, or your two
pictures of the top.

Speaker 2 (15:08):
Something like.

Speaker 1 (15:08):
We have.

Speaker 4 (15:09):
The better features that they have done in the last
couple of years is that if you have a carousel
of pictures, you can go in and edit those now.
So if there's like something you want to delete out
of like ten pictures, now you can go in and
actually delete it and still hold on to the carousel
and just delete like one photo. That's nice.

Speaker 2 (15:25):
That is cool, That is super nice.

Speaker 5 (15:27):
HBO is talking about Euphoria because we've been waiting what
four years for the next season, and I'm kind of
hooked because I've started watching it last week. They said
the new season is only gonna be eight episodes, which
is seemingly the norm for Netflix shows. But it's just
annoying and we wait so long for so little.

Speaker 2 (15:41):
I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm going to watch it.

Speaker 4 (15:45):
I'm still going to watch it no matter why, because
it's a great show. Did you guys know that because
of Beyonce, the Grammys are changing their categories for next year. Ye, so,
because she had won for Best Country Album after losing
multiple times that ceremony is just for country music, they
have decided to change it to have two categories, Best

(16:05):
Traditional Country Album and Best Contemporary Country Album because so
many people were upset that she had won at the
Grammys for Best Country Albums. So now they're gonna have
two so that people like Beyonce, who come out of
nowhere from pop.

Speaker 2 (16:17):
To country m hmm, can win.

Speaker 4 (16:19):
But then you can still get your Garth Brooks winning
Country Album of the Year.

Speaker 5 (16:24):
Okay, okay, all right, bringing up im back the best
album Cover category, which apparently used to be a thing.

Speaker 2 (16:31):
I didn't even know.

Speaker 3 (16:32):
I don't remember it ever being a thing, but album
covers used to be. I mean, they're still big, but
if you think about like some classic albums, Nirvana is
probably one of the most well known. Is the Naked
Baby who is swimming in a pool going after a
dollar bill on a fish hook. It's a classic album cover.

(16:53):
But yeah, they're bringing that back, which I think is
a good idea because album covers used to be much
more important and then they shrunk down in there a
little dot. They're a thumbnail on your phone.

Speaker 1 (17:02):
And now you have like the Brat Summer, the Brett
album cover which is green.

Speaker 2 (17:06):
It's like blurry on top. Yes, well you know what
used to be cool and it's going to be cool again.
Spaceballs Baby in the eighties.

Speaker 1 (17:15):
Spaceballs came out in eighty seven, and now in twenty
twenty seven, they're coming out with Spaceballs too. And Rick
moranis is coming out of retirement.

Speaker 3 (17:24):
I know you're excited about it.

Speaker 1 (17:25):
I'm so jazzed. Mel Brooks will be in it again
as well. He's very old. Josh gad Co wrote it,
and Key Palmer's going to be in it.

Speaker 2 (17:31):
I can't wait. And also Bill Pullman will be in
it as well.

Speaker 3 (17:34):
Okay, and that is it for the Dirt, brought to
you by six one two Injured Timer and Lammer's injury law.
Have a great weekend.

Speaker 2 (17:42):
Happy Father's Day, batty father's.

Speaker 3 (17:44):
Statement, shappy Father's Day.

Speaker 2 (17:46):
You are a dad.

Speaker 3 (17:47):
I am, I'm a dad. Thank you.

Speaker 2 (17:49):
I have your black son.

Speaker 3 (17:50):
I do you are my black son.

Speaker 4 (17:51):
I don't know if they're for sure fathers or not,
but more men sign up from my fit club on
Sunday because I asked for some zaddies to come out
this Sunday, so I have more men than normal. Hopefully
I'll have some zaddies at my fit club on Sunday.

Speaker 2 (18:03):
Sign up Sunday morning.

Speaker 1 (18:06):
Shout out to Wendy. It's her birthday. Belated birthday listening
in Texas. Happy birthday, wed.

Speaker 3 (18:10):
Yeah, Happy birthday, Wendy. I'm gonna go off to meet
my dog Bernie later today, about one o'clock. We're gonna
go meet Bernie and see whether we click or not.
I might be a foster dad over the weekend too, well,
I will be, so we might have two new dogs
in the family coming up when we get back here
on Monday. All right, thanks for listening. Check out the
Minnesota Goodbye for some extra bonus content. It's basically just

(18:32):
like no music, no commercials, just fifteen twenty minutes of
us chatting and reading emails and it's a lot of fun.
It's Minnesota Goodbye on the iHeartRadio app.
