ready for tomorrow's Nutritional Science Today righthere, right now. Good morning,
everybody. Thank you for joining meon this voyage through nutrition, and today's
show is going to be a littlebit different than any event. Welcome to
this program. My name is JerryHicky. I'm a nutritionally oriented pharmacist.
I have a lot of training andnutrition and in pharmacy, and it's always
an honor and privilege to be ableto share my knowledge with you. So

(00:44):
we talk about the best of thebest of nutrition, and usually we focus
on supplements. We talk about supplementswith a great deal of research and sides
behind them that are very useful andvery safe, with a great deal of
credibility, great deal of utility. But today's going to be different, and
it's because I had a conversation withone of my friends earlier this week and

(01:06):
he was feeling tired, and hethought he was kind of having a little
problem with a couple of things, including his memory. So because I'm a
trained as a pharmacist and I havea background in toxicology and bio chemistry,
et cetera, I discussed his drugswith him and lo and behold, he's

(01:27):
taking a couple of drugs that wouldaffect his memory, that would make him
sleepy, that would make his brainsluggish. They called they're different types of
drugs. One drug was used fordepression, another drug was used for pain.
And the problem is that when youuse them together, it's really going
to affect an older person. It'sreally going to affect the memory. It's

(01:49):
really going to make them feel fatigued. So I said, listen, you
know I can't change your drugs. You have to talk to your doctor.
But here are some options. Andthen I gave him some supplements out of
options. To him, I say, go work with your pharmacists, go
work with your doctor. You're myfriend. I love you. So he
hasn't gotten back to me yet.You know, these things don't work,
They don't work their way out withinYou know, you don't solve these things

(02:12):
in a couple of days. Usuallywhen you have to deal with you know,
doctors, et cetera, because youknow, you have to go through
whatever sequence service. But now,in the event, let's get back to
this. Today, we're talking aboutdrugs that are really becoming a problem in
older people that can affect their memory, that can affect a lot of things.
And they don't necessarily have to beon these drugs. They're brain slowing

(02:32):
drugs. They have other problems too, and they are all kinds of drugs.
And here's the problem. These drugshave been connected with Alzheimer's disease.
These drugs have been connected with alot of problems in aging people, including
falling and hurting themself and walking aroundfeeling sluggish, but literally connected with Alzheimer's
disease. His research actually absolutely provingus. So the problem is these drugs

(02:57):
are commonly prescribed even in aging people. In fact, many aging people might
be on two or three of thesedrugs at once, you using one at
night and two in the daytime, and they're not aware of it. They
have a type of side effect thatthe drug manufacturers don't want, but it's
inherent to the clisse of drugs.Called an anticholinergic effect. And here's the
problem. Doctors are not typically trainedto recognize the problems with aging people in

(03:27):
these drugs. They're not trained toavoid these drugs, prescribing these drugs and
older people. So it's a realissue. So these are brain slowing drugs
that you're better off avoiding if youhave an option, and I'm going to
give you some options today. Sonot only are the doctors not trained to
avoid prescribing these drugs and older people, the ads, et cetera kind of

(03:51):
promote using them. So it's veryrisky for us older adults. Now am
I an older adult? Yeah?I joined. I joined the crowd.
I turned seventy last week. Howdo I feel like I'm thirty five?
I'm not kidding you. My brainfeels sharp. I don't think I have
memory problems yet. Do I thinki'll have them? It doesn't seem to
be an issue. Doesn't seem tobe I'm certainly not going to develop Alzheimer's,

(04:14):
but I don't seem to have anissue with my memory yet. I'm
learning stuff all the time and Iremember it physically well, physically, like
if I sit for a long timeand I get up. I'm stiff,
like my legs are a little stiffin my back, stiff, but you
know, I walk a little bit, it's gone. I'm fine. In
fact, I play pickle ball typicallytwo or three times a week. I
go to the gym typically three timesa week, and I'm really pumping.

(04:36):
I'm using good weights and doing alot of reps. I walk with my
wife typically three four five miles aday. I mean we're very active.
We're very active. We do allkinds of brain teasing games and we're always
learning and we're doing good. Infact, I'm really enjoying my older years,

(04:57):
my golden years. So you know, stay active, stay active socially,
stay active physically, stay active mentally. That's really good advice. That's
not my only advice. You know, if you're a regular listener, I
give a lot of advice on foodand nutrients, et cetera. But those
things are important. Sleep is important. So these drugs are actually linked to

(05:20):
causing Alzheimer's, and it's a wholebunch of different classes of drugs, and
I'm going to give you options. So they're widely prescribed, and they're anti
coolinergic, they're anticholinergic activity, whichmeans they block a setyl coling. Now,
setyl collin is very active in thebrain and acetyl colin is very active
in the body. It's part ofthe sympathetic parasympathetic nervous system. So the

(05:43):
problem is that blocking a setyle coldingin the body leads to constipation. Now,
who wants to walk around with thatstuff. In fact, there are
some studies that link chronic constipation toan increased risk of colon cancer. But
you know, it's just really uncomfortablethat it's not healthy to be carrying around
that load. So anticholinergic drugs causeconstipation. Anti col energic drugs caused dry

(06:10):
mouth. That might not sound bad, but it's bad because well, dry
mouth does lead to bad breath, yeah, but it also leads to gum
disease, loose teeth, losing yourteeth, but also increased risk of infection
because don't forget, there are germsall around, viruses, bacteria, parasites,
all these different things, and youhave stuff in your saliva that's antimicrobial,

(06:32):
like mayellow peroxidasis that kill viruses. So if you don't have saliva,
you have an inconstration of getting infections. So these drugs cause dry mouth.
Dry mouth syndrome can be a realproblem. Now the other thing they cause
dry eyes. So you know youreyes could get scratch you could scratch your
cornia. Your eyes could get inflamedand red and irritated and even have eye

(06:53):
pain if they're dry. There's dryeye syndrome. Not a good thing.
And the other thing is these drugsaffect your memory. So a setyle colling
in a brain, these drugs blocka setle coin. And there are all
kinds of drugs. Chances are you'reon one of these drugs. Setyle colling
in a brain allows brain cells tocommunicate, so it allows you to learn,

(07:15):
It allows you to remember, Itallows the brain to heal. It
allows the brain to create new pathwayswhen you're learning something new so that you
remember it, but also at nightwhen you're going to deep sleep. But
setle coin is part and parcel ofcreating new memory cells. Every night you're
supposed to create new memory cells whenyou go to deep sleep. You need
a seatle colling for that. Sothese drugs block that, and they have
in research been established to be arisk factor for Alzheimer's disease. And like

(07:41):
I said, there wildly just prescribed. So who should not be on them,
Well, the elderly, anybody whois afraid of memory loss, anybody
who's afraid of Alzheimer's, anybody whohas some memory loss, anybody who has
mild cognitive impayment, or somebody whohas alzheimer It's going to make the disease

(08:03):
go faster, it's going to makethe symptoms worse. Okay, So let's
discuss these drugs and what are suitablealternatives. Okay. The first category of
drugs that affect a seatyle coline. We're talking about drugs that really mess with
your memory, are powerful antihistamines, the kind that make you sleepy. So
a great example of this is thedrug benadryl, which is also known generically

(08:28):
as diephen hybrimine. Now, peopleuse this for sleep, people use this
for allergies, people use this incoffin, cold medicine, and flu medicine.
They use it for itchy skin. And the problem is it is such
a powerful anticholinergic, it's such apowerful blocker of aceetal colin that if you

(08:50):
stand it even for a month ormore, it has caused you to lose
memory that you're not going to getback. You're not going to get back,
so what do you do well?Naturally, there are ingredients that help
with the symptoms of croffs and coldsand the flu and itchy skin and allergies.

(09:13):
We have a product called Respiratory HXwhere we mix stinging nettles and quarstin
mangestine and vitamin C and it's beenvery, very successful in helping people with
allergies, you know, like thealergies get in the spring in the fall,

(09:35):
with cold symptoms like running nose. Some people even use it to help
them snore at night, help themstop snoring at night, which I've never
used, but I've had a coupleof people report to me that helps them.
They were using it at night fortheir allergies. They were taking three
capsules with a little snack before bedtimeand it helped them breathe. It was
opening up their sinuses and perhaps becauseof that, they weren't snoring as much.

(10:00):
So Benadryl is a problem. Benadrylis a problem and a clear good
choice to replace benadrol is Respiratory HXor any supplement with a mix high quality
stinging nettles with corstins. Stinging nettlesis a plant. Courstin, on the

(10:20):
other hand, is a flavonoid thatyou find in very healthy foods like broccoli
and galic and onions and green teaand things like that, cocoa berries like
blueberries and blackberries. Problem is,you don't get enough quercetin and food to
help you with allergies. You needat least like two hundred and fifty milligrams
that are sitting to help you withallergies. So I tell people with allergies,

(10:41):
instead of using benadryl, which isbad for your brain and has been
connected through research to Alzheimer's disease, use respiratory HX, which is safe for
the brain. It has no problemwith the brain. It doesn't close dry
mouth, it doesn't close dry eyes, and it doesn't close constipation. Now
let's go to a break. We'rea little bit or early. We're having

(11:03):
a big sale. They're having aPresident's Day sale at Invite all of the
Invite products. If you buy twobottles two bottles, so you buy two
bottles of respiratory checks for your allergies, you get forty percent off suggested retail.
And of course the deal thirty fivedollars or more, and it's shipped
to you. Invite covers the shipping. So that's a great deal, so

(11:26):
take advantage of it. The saleis on until Monday at midnight. Take
advantage right up. What you need, whether it's your ubiquin all or you
buy a Correctman five b looxit oryour probiotics so whatever it might be,
or any of the supplements we tookabout in today's show. Buy two bottles
of any Invite product. Two bottlesare the same thing. You get forty
percent of suggested retail. Okay, let's go to a break. Jerry Hicky,

(11:46):
Invite Hoth go nowhere. I'll behere right back. Welcome to the
Invite Health Buy two get forty percentoff President's Day sale. The sale is
on now. By two bottles ofany Invite Health product and receive forty percent
off retail. That's buy two bottlesand get forty percent off retail. Here's
the number and write it down becauseyou can speak with an Invite nutritionists seven

(12:07):

for Invite eight hundred sixty three twozero five seven to two. Listen to

Contact invite at eight hundred six threetwo zero five seven two that number again
eight hundred six three two zero fiveseven two, or go to invite health
dot com Invite health, Get healthy, Stay healthy. So drugs dot quotes
problems for your memory and older peopleare called they have anti coldenergic side effects.

(12:52):
So it's a whole different category ofdrugs. There's all different I should
say it is all different categories ofdrugs. So we're only talking about drugs
with strong antiquolinergic activity. Does hundredsof drugs what we can't take call allergic
activities where if you're using two orthree of those, it's a problem for
your memory. So that's another discussion. So the first one I said was
benadryl for itchy skin, for sleep, for allergies, And I said,

(13:15):
hey, if it's for allergies oritchy skin or calson fluid, try respiratory
HX. It should be very helpful. And by the way, if you
want to get rid of allergies longterm, use the correct probiotic mixture.
The ENVII probiotic checks. When Idesigned that personally, I design it for
people with allergies, not just fordigestive health and breast health and all those

(13:39):
other things that you expect a goodprobiotic to do for you, but also
getting rid of allergies, really makingthe allergies so inconsequential that you don't even
care about them, where you mightjust get a niche eye once in a
while or a little sneeze once ina while. Okay, I'm really talking
about that. So if you haveallergies, go on probiotic HS, take
one day every day for six monthsand for ninety for most of you,

(14:03):
the allergies are really going to clearup dramatically, dramatically. Now, it's
not a treatment for the allergies. If you have allergy symptoms today, it
doesn't clear that up. What itdoes over time is get rid of theologies.
It gets at the core of theallergy problem. So it's not just
for the symptoms that you're experiencing todaylike Egi's, but long term it's to
get rid of the alogies. Whybecause it trains the immune system, mostly

(14:28):
your immune systems in your intestines andstomach. It trains the immune system to
ignore things you're allergic to, andthat has a profound effect on analogy.
So if you have allergies, geton probatic HX, take it every day
for like six months. After that, take a refresher those like two or
three times a week like I dodo I take it every day. I
take it like three maybe four timesa week. I take probiotics. That's

(14:52):
enough because they're already well established inme, and I eat a really good
diet. But probatic back to doesvalue off in older people. We don't
know why yet, but great dealof research on millions of people basically proves
to me that as we age,for some reason, we get rid of
the good bacteria to bid bacteria takeover, which are really bid fair health,

(15:13):
and it's one of the things thatreally causes problems in aging. So everybody
older, even though without allergies, should be on a probatic anyway. Now,
the second category of drugs that arecommonly prescribed by your doctor that you're
probably on are the nighttime versions oflike cold treatments and painkillers like thailanoil PM,

(15:39):
advil PM, or niquill which isused for cooff cold and flu.
These really have an impact on yourbrain because once again they're using powerful antihistamines
that block the ctylcholine function in thebrain. That causes you to lose brain
memory cells, specifically brain memory cells. It will damage your mind me.

(16:00):
So, what's a good option.Respiratory HX. If you need help at
night with breathing, take respiratory HX. We talked. We spoke about that
before. For people with allergies,Respiratory HX take three capsules with a snack
before bedtime. It's very safe. It'll help with your allergies, it will
help with your nighttime breathing. Butwhat about a nighttime painkiller. Oh,

(16:21):
that's easy. Biokirkman five ox isa nighttime painkiller that works easily as well
as tail and ol PM. Itworks easily as well as tilan old PM
or adile PM. So take twoor three biocurcumen with your dinner. It's
great for your brain, it's greatfor your memory. It's great for your
calon. It's great for your achesand pains. It's great for pain,
it's great for your memory. Sojust the opposite. The nighttime painkillers like

(16:47):
the talon ol PM and the adilePM are bad for your brain, whereas
the Biocirrikman five ox, which isequally as effective for pain and is very
safe, is actually good for yourbrain. We'll talk about that a little
bit more in a little while.Now. A third category of drugs that
really is bad for your brain arethe sleeping drugs sleep bates, for instance,

(17:11):
unism unisum is very bad for thebrain. So what's a better option.
Well, some of you need melotonin. Melotonin will work fine, take
it like an hour before bedtime. Some of you the mineral magnesium will do
it. Magnesium is very good foranxiety. It's very good for brain energy,
but it's also good for sleep. It's good for the immune system,

(17:32):
it's good for your bones, it'sgood for digestion. I mean, it's
good for so many things. Otherscan use. Volarian Valerian is an herb
and it's very good for calming youdown. Now, if you were if
you walked into a pharmacy in thenineteen twenties or nineteen thirties, and you

(17:52):
were you couldn't sleep at night,or you were nervous and anxious, they
would have given you the herb valarian. But later on when the drug company
Roche Roche Labs came out, theycame out with a drug called diazepam.
Diazepam can be used for anxiety forstressed people, but also for sleep.

(18:15):
So they said, let's name itafter the plant valerian, so they call
it valium. Valium is named aftera plant called valarium. So Valarian will
help you sleep, Magnesium will helpyou sleep. Melatona will help you sleep.
You can try any one of those. You can even combine them.
It's very safe to combine if you'reanxious that night. U CBD can have

(18:38):
a dialol use invite high quality CBD. It's very pure. It'll help you
sleep at night. So you don'thave to take these sleep aids that really
mess with your with your with yourmemory. Now, other sleep aids can
make you full, like like valuum. I'll prozzle them drugs like that.
They can make you full. Getup at night, you have to go

(19:00):
to the bathroom and you fall downand you break your hip, or you
hit your head and you damage yourskull, or you hurt your knee.
I'm not good. So yeah, the supplements won't do that. If you
take melotonin, magnesium, valerian orCBD and you wake up night at night
and you have to go to thebathroom, it's a lot safer. Now,

(19:22):
another category of drugs that's extremely badfor the brain are the drugs for
an overactive bladder. People would urgein continents. Like a common one is
oxybutinin, which is called dietrapan, but another one is day troll or vesicare.

(19:45):
These drugs will make you sleepy, they'll make your brain fuzzy. They
can make you dizzy, you couldfall over and break your hip, you
could trip. But also they willdamage your memory. They will ir reverse.
If you use those drugs every dayfor a month, you've lost brain
cells. You've lost you've already lostbrain cells. So what's a great option.

(20:11):
Well, there's pelvic floor exercises thatwill help you control your bladder.
But bladder HX. Bladder HX works. We have hundreds and hundreds of clients
on it. Sadly, I meanthat's how it is. There's a lot
of research on the ingredients in bladderHX. In bladder HX, there's a

(20:33):
combination of things like isoflavonoids and threeleaf caper you know capers, and the
combination taken on a daily basis, surely, slowly but surely helps get your
bladder under control. Again, wehave a stack of letters and emails.
Usually we get emails. Today wedon't get letters anymore. In the old

(20:56):
days, we used to get letters. People would write a letter, I
love your product. That's been sogood for my heart or my bladder and
my blood pressure or my sleep,or my energy or my brain. You
know, we used to get letters. Now we get emails, but that's
easier, right, So we havea collection of letters and now emails of
people who had bladder problems, Likeone guy. Very interesting. He said

(21:23):
he goes to pubs with his friendsand he had a bear and he'd have
to run for the bathroom. Andhe says, now he could sit through
two bears and not run to thebathroom. That's an interesting use for bladdery
jacks. Let you drink more beer. I'm just being snarky there. He

(21:44):
could sit and have two beers whilehis friend's getting up and running to the
bathroom. So he said, it'sclearly been helpful. I've had other people
tell me they used to get uptwo or three times a night. And
I even had guys who are prostateproblems where the prostate problem was cleared up,
but they were still getting up atnight. And I turned around to
one of my nutritions, turned aroundand said to them, well, maybe
you have a bladder problem. Tryto blatterer ate CHEX. And all of

(22:07):
a sudden they weren't getting up atnight anymore. So they went on prostenate
HX because they had a prostate problem, and instead of going to the bathroom
four times a night, maybe theywere just going twice a night. But
they were going twice a night, which kind of upset me. And I
said, well, try bladder HX. And they'd call me in like like
a month or two and said, this is amazing. I'm taking the prostate
checks into bladder ATEX. I don'thave to get up for the bathroom at

(22:29):
a wool at night. I couldsleep six or seven hours undisturbed. It's
been fantastic. It turns out thata great majority of the men who have
prostate problems also have bladder problems, but they've never been diagnosed. It's been
undisclosed that they have bladder problems andthe doctor isn't addressing that, so they
still get up at night to urinate. So it's been very safe for men

(22:52):
to go into bladder HX. Itdoesn't raise their blood pressure, it doesn't
affect their eye pressure, it doesn'taffect their brain, and it works and
make them constipated. It just helpstheir bladder function better. Your bladder is
like a canteen, like a muscularcanteen that holds the urine. Otherwise you'd
be leaking urine all the time, which would not be good because predators would
be able to track you like that. So of course animals have to create

(23:15):
bladders, so you're not going tothe bathroom all time, you're not leaking
all the time. The problem isin older people, the bladder muscle,
the detruser muscle, is not functioningwell, or their nerves are not functioning
well and they're leaking. They haveto run to the bathroom. They can't
sit through a James Bond movie. They have to get up halfway through the
or run to the bathroom, orthey can't sit through dinner. If they're

(23:36):
taking a walk, they have toplant out places where there's a bathroom while
they're taking a walk because they knowthey're going to have an issue that you
know they're going to have to runto the bathroom or get greatly embarrassed.
So it's been great for men withprostate problems because a lot of them will
also have bladder problems. But alot of women. I've had women able
to get off dietrapan which made themconstipated and like some of them had glack

(23:59):
hollon. It was affecting you visionand instead they're going on our bladder y
checks and it's been very safe andit's working. So how does it work.
It slowly but surely helps heal thenerves and the bladder and helps the
bladder muscle have tone again so thatyou can hold your urine. See you're
not leaking, you're not running forthe bathroom. Some people leak. Other
people have to run for the bathroombecause they have urging continents. They know

(24:21):
they're going to explode and your innateall over the place. It helps both,
but it takes a little time wherethe drug works within like a week
but the drug will destroy your brain. The bladder y checks takes time to
work. That gets better and betterevery week until about the one month or
two month point where it really kicksin and you're just fully under control.

(24:41):
So if you mix that with thecagel pelvic floor exercises you and you take
the bladder y checks, it'll it'llwork as well as the drugs without damaging
your memory. So we're talking todayabout drugs that damage your memory, that
are very bad for all the people. But they we're still getting prescribed from
millions of US soldar adults. Andthere are options, real options for these

(25:04):
drugs, and I'm giving you theoptions. And the beauty of it is
all these options are on sale becausewe're having our President's Day sale. It's
been ongoing because there's a lot ofpresidents at Lincoln to Washington. And the
thing we shouldn't forget these people. They were very important for our history.
The thing is that it's on untilMonday at twelve pm. And any invite

(25:29):
product you buy two bottles, includingall the products I'm talking about now,

You get forty percent off suggested retail. And of course, if we
ship it to you and it's thirtyfive dollars or more, we had Invite
paid the shipping. We paid ashipping for you. So that's a great
deal, So take advantage. ThePresident's Day sale is on now. I'm

(25:52):
going to go to a break. When we come back, we're going to
talk about three or four more classesof medicine. You're probably on some of
these medicines that will destroy brain anddestroy your memory and even increase your risk
of developing dementias, including Alzheimer's disease, which is the most common form of
dementia. We'll be right back.Cherry. Hey, you Invite Health.

welcome back, Jerry Hicky for InviteHealth, and like I mentioned before,
we're having our President's Day sale, big sale for us. Now quick
recap. We're talking about drugs thataffect the memory that are very bad and

(27:22):
older people. They really should beused in older people, but doctors are
not trained to recognize this and dealwith it. And there are real options
for these drugs. You don't necessarilyhave to go on these drugs. So
there's drugs for nausea, drugs fornausea like antivert mechlausine that's the other name
for it, or dramamine which isdive di menhydronate. They're really not suitable

(27:49):
for older people. Now some peoplehave to use them, some people might
have vertigo. If you have touse it, try to get to the
lowest dose possible and use it asless frequently as possible. Use it just
whenever you need it, okay, because you certainly don't want to suffer with
vertigo. But there are like physicaltherapies that help vertigo. Al CAHR with

(28:11):
ALA can help vertigo. I'll getinto that in a minute. So you
may not be able to totally avoidthese drugs, but use them sparingly and
have the lowest dose where it'll giveyou a good effect. So for motion
sickness, I believe it or nota great cure for motion sickness. You're
out in a boat. A sandwich. I'm telling you. If you're out

(28:34):
in the boat and you get emotionsickness, eat a sandwich. But ginger
can help that, Okay, Gingercan help that. Commonly used ginger as
very Ginger's great forel liver. There'sseven or eight ingredients and ginger that a
great feel liver. But ginger isreally good for nausea. It's helpful with
motion sickness. But what about vertigowhere the room spin around? I mean

(29:00):
that's horrible. Sometimes that's drugs causingvertigo, Like if you're on some of
the drugs I already mentioned, likevenadrol that could close vertigo type side effects,
or if they lower your blood pressuretoo much, or some of the
cofferent cold and flu drugs, orsleeping pills or pills for anxiety, they

(29:21):
can make you feel like it's vertigo. So if you're all of a sudden
suffering with vertigo and you don't knowwhy and recently start a new drug,
check out what your pharmacist if it'sthe drug. But over time, seeing
a neurologists to prescribe physical therapy forvertigo and alcohol with ala they can help
vertigo. Now, alcohol with ALAis amazing because a lot of the drugs

(29:44):
that can cause memory problems can beavoided by using alcohol with ALA. And
we'll get into that in a coupleof minutes. Alcohol and ALA are two
things natural to humans. Their levelsdrop with age. They're really important for
burning fat converting fat net energy. So if you lack them, you gain
fat on your belly, and ifyou have them, you have more muscle

(30:07):
than fat, Like you might gainten pounds of muscle and lose ten pounds
of fat. That's a huge difference. But the other thing is they're really
important for the brain. They protecta brain. Now this is an important
issue. As we age, theprotective mechanisms in the brain stop working effectively,
things like cyproxid dismutastic and gludeothine peroxidase. These are enzyme system antioxidants that

(30:29):
are supposed to defend your brain, and they kind of really stop, start
to stop, really start to dropin their protective effect in the brain,
and like in your fifties and bythe time you're about sixty or sixty five,
they're pretty much gone. So it'sa lot easier to lose brain cells,
brain cells from pollution, brain cellsfrom alcohol, brain cells just from
aging, brain cells from infection, whatever it might be. Brain cells from

(30:52):
these drugs that we're trying to avoidthat we're talking about avoiding on this program,
the anticholinergic drugs. So alcohol withALA brings back protection in the brain.
The ALA is super protected for braincells, and alcohol prevents brain cells
from dyeing. It blocks apoptosis inthe brain to death of brain cells,

(31:12):
but also allows brain cells to feed. You don't want, you know,
they call Alzheimer's diabetes of the brain. When you get the alcohol with ALA
and diabetes, the body can't usesugar for energy in the brain. With
Alzheimer's, you can't use sugar forenergy. Alcohol with ALA restores metabolism the

(31:33):
brain, the ability of the brainto use calories and sugar for energy,
because that is the number one sourceof energy in the brain. It's not
protein, it's not fats, it'scarbohydrates. So alcohol with ALA protect the
brain. They replace the enzyme systemantioxidants that aren't working effectively in people over
fifty and certainly over sixty. Theyhelp prevent the death of brain cells.

(31:56):
They block apoptosis in the brain cells, They feed the brain, but they
also allow the brain to create asetyle coling. So these drugs block a
setyl colon, and that's how theyincrease your risk of memory loss in Alzheimer's
disease, whereas alcohol with ALA actuallyimprove a setyl colon. Alcohol has a
setyl l carnity and acetyl l qranity, and that's what starts stands for.

(32:17):
It is the acetyl group to aB vitamin called colin, and you create
a setal colin in your brain. So that's fantastic. That's fantastic. So
alcohol with Ala help heal the brain, including parts of the brain involved with
balance and your internal GPS, etcetera. And that can help over time
get your vertigo under control. Thatcan help even people with minyear syndrome in

(32:42):
the ear, they can make themdizzy. The alcohol with Ala over time
can help to a degree reverse minhearsyndrome. And also by the way tonights
which is ringing in the ear,it may be ringing, it may be
humming, some kind of buzzing soundin the ear, they're roll the stand
the world tonight as the brain ishearing sound when there's no sound to be

(33:04):
heard. That's why it's worse atnight, or worse when you're in a
quiet room. Alcohol with Ala isone of the things that helps reverse tonightis
so there's a lot of things that'sdoing for the brain. And in fact,
people who come in to see mewho are having brain energy issues,
I put them on alcohol with ALAand I put them on creatine monohydrate and

(33:30):
that really solves the brain memory issues. And I have to tell you this,
and this is a story that's true. I was sitting in front of
my TV set h ten years agoand I was exhausted. I had just
done my second radio show for thatSaturday morning. It was a Saturday morning,
so I already had like twenty orthirty radio shows that I already did

(33:51):
that week, right, So Iwas exhausted, literally exhausted, and I
said to myself, I'm working Mondaythrough Friday. I really need to get
exercise today. I'm too tired toget off the colt and strangely, on
my coffee table in front of myTV set. I had one study and
it said older people are tired, not because their bodies tired. Older people

(34:13):
are tired because their brain is tired. I said, you know, my
body is not tired, it's mybrain. It's fatigue. So over research,
over time, and yeah, great, multivibmen will like B one in
it and B twelve and all thatthat helps energy. But alcohol with ala
and creatine monohydrate, if your brainis fatigued, take those. I can

(34:37):
almost promise that you're going to getbrain energy within a couple of days.
Like I take them all the time. Creating monohydrate, and we have a
very pure, non animal creatine monohydrate. You don't want an animal source of
creatine monohydrate because you don't know whatthese animals were fed and how they lived
and if they were diseased or not. So ours is the for vegetables.

(35:00):
It's creatine monohydrate. Normally I takea scoop after I lift weights or I
do a long walk because it reestablishes muscle endurance. It's great for muscle
endurance, muscle power, muscle endurance. Right now, when I go to
the gym, I'm pumping. Ireally am pumping. I'll do three sets
of heavy weights. I love it. I feel great, but my muscles

(35:23):
get fatigued. I'm a seventy yearold guy. I do the creatine after
it. It's not all I do, but I do creatine. And creatine
is also good for giving your brainstamina and energy. So if your brain
is fatigued, take a scoop ofcreatine and a glass of water in the
morning, or any liquid you get, orange juice, whatever you want.

(35:44):
Take your creatine on a hydrate anda scoop of liquid in a glass of
liquid, stir it and drink it. It's going to give your brain energy.
That and the alcohol with ala,and they're both good for your memory.
They're both good for your memory. So that's the way getting rid of
brain fatigue and all these stories brainfatigue. So take the alcohol with ala.
It'll help with brain energy. It'llhelp with brain fatigue. But alcohol

(36:06):
with ala slowly but surely help reversememory loss or protect your memory so you
don't have memory loss or even improveday to day memory. So you're using
these drugs for you know, dizziness, et cetera. And alcohol with ala
over time can help dizziness. Butthey good for your brain to actually seed
the creation of new memory cells. They give you brain energy, They let

(36:29):
you create newer transmitters in your brainfor memory, for logic, for problem
solving, for learning, for calmingdown. I mean, it's just amazing
for having brain energy, for relaxingthe brain. So alcohol with ala really
helps offset if you have to takethese drugs, you might want to take
alcohol with ala with these drugs toprotect your brain from the drugs. So

(36:51):
if you have to take these drugs, add the alcohol with ala and it'll
help protect your brain from the drugs. Now, another category of drugs which
is bad for the brain are drugsfor itching itching, skin allergy, itching
destroying antihistamines that you swallow like benedroll, which is diphen hydromine, or another

(37:13):
one is vistorol, which is hydroxyzene. First of all, if you have
itchy skin, it might just bedryness, so try a good moisturizer loaded
with antioxidants. It's great for itchyand flame skin. But once again,
respiratory HX if you have itchy skin. I spoke about respiratory HX before for
people who have coffin cold symptoms atnight. I spoke about for people with

(37:36):
daytime allergies. I spoke about ithelping some people with snoring. It's great
if you have itchy skin, butyou need to take a little bit more.
So take three capsules three times aday with food. The thing is
the respiratory HX will not affect yourbrain. It will not hurt your brain.
The antihistamines that you take for itchyskin can hurt your brain. It's
not a good thing. Okay, let's keep on going. Medication for nerve

(38:00):
pain A lot of the old guardtricyclicant and depressants are used for nerve pain,
like Eleville which is amy tripling,or pamel ore which is nord tripling.
Okay, these are drugs commonly usedfor depression, so they use it
for nerve pain. Well. Alcoholwith ala, which feeds the brain with

(38:22):
new memory cells and gives the brainenergy and helps your memory, is great
for nerve pain. Alcohol with Alais great for nerve pain. Okay,
even if you're on neuronton, whichis gabapentin, you should also be on
alcohol with ala because it will offsetthe fatigue caused by the neuronton, which
is also called gabapentin. Neuronton isthe trade name, Gabapentin is the generic

(38:45):
name. So I'm not saying thatgabapentin, which is neuronton, will affect
your memory, but it'll make youfatigue. The alcohol with Ala can offset
the fatigue and help heal your nerves. Gabapentin doesn't heal the nerves. It
helps with nerve pain. Alcohol withAla helps re establish nerve function. It
helps heal your nerves. That's beenshowing them and they've shown, they've proven

(39:07):
and a whole bunch of human clinicaltrials that alcohol with Ala helped protect you
from developing Alzheimer's. It helps protectyou from developing Alzheimer's. So these drugs
can increase your risk of Alzheimer's.Alcohol with ALA can help prevent Alzheimer's.
So if you're using nerve pain medication, they use tricyclicate that depressing frequently.

(39:32):
These things rob you of brain memorycells. They can increase your risk of
dementia. Use the alcohol with ALAand if you need greater help for nerve
pain, add to bio curcumin fivelox and these are great for nerve pain.
Biocurricumin five loxin is something that's greatfor back pain and neck pain.
It's great for arthritis pain like kneepain and hip pain, or finger pain,

(39:58):
even tendinitis or citis, et cetera. You could add the biocurcument five
locks into the alcohol with ALA.If you have nerve pain in your back
like sciatica, it'll help a greatdeal. It'll really help a great deal.
Now, another group of drugs wehave to be very careful with and
people over fifty muscle relaxes like flexerals. Flexal is also a cyclo benzeprene cyclo

(40:23):
benzeprene. They use it commonly ifyou have back pain like listen. If
you have severe muscle spasms, youmight have to go on a muscle relaxing
for a couple of days, butdon't stick with it. They're dangerous drugs,
but they commonly use it for neckpain and back pain. Well,
what can you use instead of them? Biocurricument five lockxin stretching and walking.

(40:47):
So if you have neck pain orback pain, have your doctor prescribe physical
therapy so you can learn stretches andexercises to help with back pain and neck
pain. Walk Walking is a greatsole for back pain. What makes back
pain worse? Sitting Sitting is theworst position for back pain. What helps

(41:08):
back pain stretching out, Walking stretchesyou well. So if you need a
muscle relax for back pain, thinkabout bio Curricutman five. Lox I originally
created a buier Curricuman five box whichworks as well as advil or a leave
for back for arthritis pain. Ioriginally developed it for people with rheumatoid arthritis

(41:30):
or ostro arthritis in their knees likethese tennis players. So I originally created
a bio Curricuman five boxing for that, and it was doing a tremendous job
of helping our clients with back pain. I'd say fifty per it's probably our
most commonly purchased supplement, bier Kirkmanfive BLOCKX and has to be among our
top five best selling supplements. AndI'd say half the people use it for

(41:53):
arthritis like knee pain or hip pain. The other half are using it for
back pain. Like we have alot of chauffeurs and professional drivers who we're
sitting all the time. They getback pain. It's like you're squishing an
accordion, You're squishing your spine. So the bio Kirktman five lox is great
for that, and the Biocractment fiveLOCKXS is great for neck pain. So

(42:13):
if you have a cervical problem orgetting cervical migraines or something. So that's
my answer to muscle relations. Wehave to go to a break. We're
having our President's Day sale. Youbuy two bottles of any invite supplement like

That number again, eight hundred sixthree two zero five seven two or
go to invitehealth dot com Invite Health, Get healthy, Stay healthy. Okay,
welcome back, Jerry Hicky. It'sthe last segment of the program,
a quick review. We're talking aboutdrugs that are commonly prescribed, all different

(44:08):
kinds of drugs, drugs for differentthings that are commonly prescribed that can rob
you of your memory, that hassome serious impact on your memory, that
have been shown in human clinical trialsto increase your risk of Alzheimer's, even
developing Alzheimer's, and certainly making Alzheimer'sworse. So we went over a whole
bunch of drugs, like drugs youuse at night for sleep, or drugs

(44:30):
you use for muscle pain, orall different kinds of drugs we spoke about.
So you want if you haven't heardthe whole program, you might want
to hear this and you might wantto tell your friends about it. These
drugs are commonly prescribed, and unfortunatelymany doctors are not trained to avoid these
drugs and older people, so itcan rob you of your memory. So
I'm going to talk about one. There's a number of drugs for depression that

(44:52):
are bad for the brain. Wespoke just a minute ago about tricyclic at
that depressing drugs. Now we're goingto talk about one particular SSRR. There's
one particular ssrrid a commonly prescribed drugfor depression and anxiety. It's called Paxel

(45:13):
peroxidine. That's due to generic name, and it's it's really commonly used for
anxiety and depression. Now, ifyou look up the side effects of peroxidine,
it'll say it causes liver problems,it causes kidney problems, it could
cause seizures, it could cause intestinalbleeding, it can increase eye pressure.

(45:37):
What else, Oh, it increasesyour risk of suicide, suicidal ideation,
So don't use it if you everthought about suicide. But they don't talk
about peroxetine, which is Paxel causingAlzheimer's, increasing your risk of Alzheimer's,
losing memory, losing memory cells. They don't talk about it. But there
are really commonly used supplements that aregreat for anxiety or great for depression.

(46:02):
In fact, a lot of timespeople come in and we'll say to me,
Jerry, I'm on an antidepressant butit's really not working. What do
I do? And I'll say, well, add this to your antidepressant,
and I tell them I add eitherbiocurcumin five loxin or alcohol with ala or
both. They're great for depression. If somebody has depression, what's a really

(46:22):
safe way to treat depression? Gooutside and take a walk. I bet
you're for half the people with depression, half the people with depression, going
outside and taking a walk will curethe depression. And I'm not saying one
day, but you don't keep afterit. Now. There's certain families where
there's indogenous depression. That's different. They have a true chemical imbalance. But

(46:43):
for most people, like you know, you might be depressed because you lost
your dog or something like that,or you lost your friend. That'll go
away. Good sadly it happened, but time heals. So to get over
that temporary depression, go outside, take a walk for half an hour,
two times a day. It's unbelievablehow that treats depression. And not only
that, it's good for your back, it's good for your brain in general,

(47:05):
it's good for you, it's goodfor the whole body. The best
thing for fighting against aging. There'sa lot of things that fight aging.
Taking a walk. Taking a walkfights aging man. Exercise is great for
aging. You don't have to becrazy like me when I'm playing pickle ball
and I'm lifting weights and I'm goingto the gym and all that and riding
my bike here. Just taking awalk a couple of times a day.
Split it up like like take atwenty minute walk three times a day.

(47:28):
It's amazing what it does against aging. Amazing. So this particular drug for
depression and anxiety, what's a goodoption. I don't have a lot of
time left. Alcohol with ALA isgreat for depression. On its own,
al car is great for depression.Ala is good for depression. Our car
is great for depression. And youpull them together, they're fantastic for depression.

(47:49):
They're study show where alcohol with ALAhelp depression within the first week or
two. Within the first week ortwo, they're helping depression. Can you
add it to an ind to depressant? Yeah, I mean they did studies
where they took powerful antidepressants that weren'tworking. They added alcohol with ALA and
all of a sudden, the antidepressantwas working because it just needed a little

(48:10):
bit of a boost to do better. So alcohol with ALA is great for
ALA is great for depression. They'regreat for memory, they're great for brain
energy, they're great for nerve pain. These are really useful supplements. I
take alcohol with ALA every day justthe offset aging of my brain. I
don't have nerve pain, I haveplenty of brain energy. I feel great,
I feel fantastic. I feel likea bull okay, and my brain

(48:35):
feels fantastic. But I take itevery day just to offset the deterioration of
the brain and nerves that can occurwith aging. I don't want that.
So I want to feel like thiswhen I'm ninety, right, Okay.
Now, So alcohol with ALA isgreat for depression. A biocurriculum in of
five locks and same deal great fordepression. Depression is kind of like it's

(48:57):
not like there's a wall in thebrain, Like if the brain was a
wall. It's not like there's onebrick missing depression to hold terrain and the
wall is off. So the buioCurrakman fod locks and gets inflammation and the
brain under control, and that reallyhelps you get rid of depression when you
get the inflammation in the brain, because most depressed brains also have inflammation.

(49:19):
So when you take the Biocrikman foldblocks and it easily gets into the brain.
I take it every day to protectmy brain. It's great for arthritis,
it's great for nerve pain. It'sgreat for back pain. It's great
for neck pain. It's great formuscle pain. I take it for my
brain because it seeds the brain. It feeds the brain, It protects the
brain, It nourishes the brain. But it lifts your mood by getting rid
of inflammation. Inflammation increases in thebrain with age because the antioxidant levels drop.

(49:43):
That's why I tell so many olderpeople take the alcohol with ala and
the buyocrirekmud fove blockxing. Great forthe body, great for your nerves,
great for your brain, great forenergy, stops inflammation. It's just a
great way to go. It's agreat way to go for older people.
Really, anybody over fifty. Unbelievablewhat it can do. And buy over
eighty, get on it, geton it. Get on I'm seventy.
I'm on them. So the buiocracrementfive locks and gets rid of inflammation on

(50:07):
the brain. Now, let's thebrain settle down and recreate itself in dull
its jobs and housekeeping. Getting ridof toxins et cetera, and depression improves.
So if you're on an antidepressant,it's not working totally. It's some
five box in to it. You'llbe shocked at how well it helps.
Now you should also be on fishoils. Fish oils have like krill.

(50:27):
I eat fish. Okay, thisweek I already let's see it's early in
the week, so let's talk aboutlast week. Last week I had tuna.
Last week I had flounder. Lastweek I had a fish called redfish
that I had never had in mylife before. I enjoyed it. So
I had fish three times last week. I still take krill every morning.

(50:47):
That's where I get my fisholes from. Fish oils have been shown to mitigate
a lot of the problems with depression. In fact, they've been showing to
help treat the depression and other problemsand help prevent memory loss. They help
prevent sudden cardiac death. I mean, there's no reason not to take fissials.
Okay, but now another study showsthat fisioles help prevent stroke. Let

(51:08):
me go over that, because ifyou're depressed or you're older, fisules decrease
in the brain with age. Plusstanton drugs for cholesterol also decrease fish oils
in a brain. So if you'reon a stat and you definitely should be
on fisials, but all older peopleshould be onfiicials. They should either be
eating fish or taking crill oil ortaking fishuols. They should be doing something

(51:30):
like that. It's really important.About one in four adults will suffer with
a stroke. Okay, that's big. Stroke is the number two cause of
death worldwide. Stroke is the numbertwo cause of death worldwide having a stroke,
and the incidence of stroke has doubledover the past twenty years. The

(51:52):
number of people who have strokes hasincreased by fifty percent over the last twenty
years. So they did a pooledharmonized analysis of research. Now, these
are doctors from all over the world. Their researchers from all over the world.
The Carolinska Institute Sweden, researchers inthe Netherlands, researchers in Germany,

(52:12):
researchers all over the United States, like for instance, Saint Luke's Mid America
Heart Institute led the research. TheUniversity of Missouria, Kansas City, the
University of South Dakota. It's inthe journal Stroke. It's in the journal
Stroke, which is a major journalin the American Heart Association. So they
pulled evidence on one hundred over onehundred and eighty three thousand people and this

(52:34):
is over a fourteen year period, and they saw there was almost eleven thousand
strokes. So they looked at theblood levels and tissue levels of fish wells
and people with high levels of fishwells. It really helped prevent a stroke.
It really helped prevent the stroke. It cut way down on the number
of people with strokes. So fishelshelped prevent sudden cardiac death that happens to

(52:55):
over three hundred thousand Americans each year. And fishals helped prevent a blocked stroke.
Now, what about a bleeding stroke. What's good for a bleeding stroke?
Green tea? Green Tea's been shownto help prevent a bleeding stroke.
So I drink green tea every dayand I add our green tea liquid to
it, so I'm getting plenty ofgreen tea. So's my wife. I
take visuals, so I'm protecting myselffrom both strokes. So this is very

(53:16):
important information you're getting right now.I wish I could go further. I
wish I had more time I don't. I'm out of time. We have
very clean supplements used in human clinicaltrials, frequently publishing peer reviewed medical journals.
These are good supplements with a lotof signs behind them that are safe.

(53:37):
