Speaker 2 (00:17):
She has a bell.
Speaker 1 (00:19):
I love my bell.
Speaker 3 (00:20):
You say something crazy, you say something great.
Speaker 4 (00:23):
That's when we were in grade school.
Speaker 5 (00:25):
That's actually like my goal conversation, get there to ring
the bell.
Speaker 1 (00:31):
There you go, Date. We have a little game we're gonna.
Speaker 3 (00:33):
Play anyway, so we're gonna have the.
Speaker 1 (00:34):
Bell for that.
Speaker 3 (00:34):
It's gonna be a good time, all right.
Speaker 6 (00:36):
First of all, you guys are in town for the
Club Quarantine live events. Yes, what you're gonna talk about today?
How much do we want to talk about today? By
the way, you can each deserve your own interview at
some point, but today we'll keep it light and fun
and talk about Club Club Quarantine.
Speaker 5 (00:51):
Definitely tag team, but with.
Speaker 6 (00:54):
Let's start Kenny Birds. Kenny Burns, what is the official
title now? Because you have many titles in your career?
Your what you what is your handle of your definition
of who you are and what you do?
Speaker 3 (01:04):
Mister Burns, A great question that.
Speaker 4 (01:07):
Okay, I'm like, I'm onto a lot of people now.
Speaker 2 (01:12):
You like, I'm not gonna lie.
Speaker 5 (01:14):
I can't stand somebody.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
I don't like Auntie either.
Speaker 4 (01:17):
Record.
Speaker 3 (01:18):
Yeah, I'm not into it.
Speaker 5 (01:20):
Don't I'm not your uncle. Don't call me.
Speaker 3 (01:22):
I like it from somebody who's actually my niece or nephew.
Speaker 5 (01:25):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:25):
I don't want it from people who are.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
The same age, ma'am you the same age as me.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
Those people are the worst because they actually like having
accomplished what they want to accomplish in their life, so
they want to stay unto you or auntie to you
like they still have time to get it right. No
niggas over.
Speaker 7 (01:40):
Yeah, I can't even in front Kenny when Kenny calls
me big bro, looking.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
At him like you are my big bro. The same
age were not after after a certain age, big bro
does not matter. It's like I listened to B. D
P as a child, you know what I mean.
Speaker 6 (01:58):
I don't say this that you've been in the game
since you were a little bitty child.
Speaker 5 (02:03):
I know I've been here for him.
Speaker 6 (02:04):
By the way, for the young ins that are tuned
in that only know you from Club Quarantine.
Speaker 1 (02:10):
Please go Google right now. They call me d Nice.
Speaker 5 (02:13):
My name is so go out.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
You don't know how I did it.
Speaker 5 (02:20):
Yes, I've actually been here a long time.
Speaker 1 (02:21):
Your origins were not as a DJ.
Speaker 3 (02:24):
Your origins were as.
Speaker 6 (02:25):
A rapper, producer.
Speaker 7 (02:27):
What my origins was actually as a beat box, I
was the human beat boxing BDP.
Speaker 1 (02:35):
Can we get then? You can still do it something.
Speaker 5 (02:39):
If you listen to the B side.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
No, no, no, I was going to back you up me.
Did you not know this?
Speaker 5 (02:46):
No?
Speaker 2 (02:47):
Years old?
Speaker 5 (02:48):
Yeah, let me just tell you. It's on the Beast.
Speaker 7 (02:50):
It's actually on the Criminal Mind on the Criminal Minded album.
It's the remix on the B side of South Bronx.
It's a song that caris you know, called the ps
free but it's meanings. But yeah, I listened to it recently.
I was like, my gosh, I was this terrible?
Speaker 1 (03:11):
But it was a bad beat box.
Speaker 5 (03:13):
It was terrible.
Speaker 1 (03:14):
So you started off as a bad.
Speaker 5 (03:16):
Dougie fresh at all.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
He's a t R.
Speaker 7 (03:19):
That's why they called me the t r A to
wait because that's a drum machine.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
They called me the human t.
Speaker 4 (03:25):
R to wait.
Speaker 5 (03:25):
So yeah, I started as a beatbot.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
Hit that bell please, I mean, this is this is history,
were alert information.
Speaker 6 (03:37):
So wait and then you go to be a rapper,
then you know, then you're producing.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
What the hell?
Speaker 2 (03:46):
I went from wrapping to Scott Scott Lorock who started
our group.
Speaker 7 (03:50):
He taught me how to DJ. Taught me how to
DJ using E. P. M D's record. It's my thing
because the way we came in it was like a
little off beat. So he taught me how to count
bar as in DJ. Then I learned how to produce,
but I didn't start producing, like I kind of worked
on South Bronx a little bit, but I was ready learning.
But I didn't start producing for for the group with
(04:11):
KRS until the second BDP album, Biomy is Necessary. So
you know my philosophy. I kind of co produced that.
I don't want to say I produced that, but I'm
still number one. All these songs on number one, what.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
Hits the bell.
Speaker 1 (04:32):
Show as the apollo.
Speaker 3 (04:33):
I'm available and we can do this, you know what
I mean?
Speaker 1 (04:38):
I could hear the bell. Wow, that's the origin story
and there is so much in between.
Speaker 6 (04:45):
I know that you saw what you wrote in your
questionnaire that you you're one of your goals is to
write a book. Is that actually gonna happen to you
have a dale? Is it in the process or is
it just.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
The doctor is in the process. Now amazing to say
that the doctors in the process. You know, I'm really
excited about that because it's not even like a d
nice documentary. It's a documentary on on on how music
music really saved lives and changed the world, like a
time we really didn't expect. But when you really think
about how many how many times are you gonna watch
(05:13):
the same movies over and over again, but you can
play the same song and people will.
Speaker 5 (05:18):
Dance and dance and dance. So we're working on that.
But the book is what is.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
It about your story too? We're gonna get kind of.
Speaker 7 (05:24):
A combination, but not really. I don't almost said who's
directing that. I gotta chill until.
Speaker 8 (05:29):
Okay, fine, Angie Martinez exclusive president, but no person, Yeah,
this person is a woman Academy Award nomin I say anything.
Speaker 1 (05:47):
It has to be here anyway. We'll find out when
you announced.
Speaker 6 (05:51):
When you announce, for sure, yes, but then okay, so
and I'm assuming in the doc we would see or
definitely in the book we're gonna hear about the launch
of Clubuarantine.
Speaker 7 (06:00):
Yeah, because was I mean, look, at the end of
the day, the hyphen in between when I started and
where I am now is so vast, like there's so
many things that I've done, and the same with Kenny.
There's so many things that we've we've all done together,
and but but the club quarantine thing, the way that
came about now, it was it was special because it's
(06:21):
not really my thing though, That's what I try to
tell people. It's like, it's the music was like secondary
to what was really happening.
Speaker 5 (06:28):
What was happening it was a conversation.
Speaker 7 (06:30):
It was people who still finding ways to stay connected
to each other because they would go in there just
to see who was in there, to say, what's up?
If Kenny's in there, if you popped in, they're like yo.
It made every like the average person who was sitting
at home feeling lonely, feel like they were connected, you know.
Speaker 5 (06:47):
And that was a I don't think that it means magical.
Speaker 1 (06:52):
It was magical, it was for sure.
Speaker 7 (06:54):
And I don't think we'll ever see anything like that
again because the timing was just perfect.
Speaker 1 (06:59):
It was all beautiful and how blessed are you stid
it from?
Speaker 4 (07:02):
Though?
Speaker 7 (07:03):
You know, like and on top of it, I think
the other part that's important that I think everyone in
this room knows is that none of that happens without
being kind on your journey to other people.
Speaker 5 (07:14):
You know, what I mean, like people came in there.
Speaker 7 (07:17):
Not because I had a hot record or I had
a hot movie, or they literally came to just support,
you know, like there's no other way that you could
get an Oprah or Barack or Angie Martinez or or
John three six seven that just wanted if you're not
kind of people, you know. And so that journey is
about kindness.
Speaker 3 (07:37):
Thank you, Kenny, Thank you, Thank you, Kenny. And so
now you're together.
Speaker 6 (07:40):
But before we get to the togetherness of it all
and the big event that's happening at the Apollo Theater, Yeah,
give the people the origins of Kenny Burns.
Speaker 2 (07:52):
I mean, the origins come from running around in DC
first though. I mean, you know, seeing Puffett Howard. I
just love the energy of Howard University. And it was
because so many different people.
Speaker 3 (08:03):
Your friend is taking a picture of what he does.
Speaker 5 (08:05):
Yeah, you know, you got to document all that.
Speaker 3 (08:08):
I know, it's my one big I didn't take enough pictures.
Speaker 8 (08:11):
Yeah, go ahead, that Ava's allegedly directed.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
Yeah so I did.
Speaker 4 (08:17):
I did.
Speaker 2 (08:17):
Yeah, we did another one. Tell you that he told
me nothing, but no, it started in DC and you
know I got locked up my senior year and my
cousin went to Morehouse and he was like, can you
gotta come to this magical place called Freaknick. And I'm like,
what is this you speak of?
Speaker 4 (08:30):
And I went to Freak Nick nineteen ninety.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
Two, Savage.
Speaker 2 (08:34):
I'm sure, yes, yes, absolutely, but went down there and
changed my life. So all these black people from all
over the country, and you know, Spelman, Clark, more House,
Morris Brown, like there were this, you know, these clusters
of HBC. You was the biggest in the country, and
I'm like, what is this? How can I And so
I just took what I saw in DC happening with
Mark Bonds and puffing all them, and I did it
(08:54):
in Atlanta.
Speaker 1 (08:55):
You started doing parties, started doing parties.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
Yeah. And then the same time I'm doing that, Fay
said planted their flag and a soul so that you know,
Jermaine and Dallas and they were all having hits. TLC
just sold four million records Chriss Cross just so for me,
it was just like a time, yes, and I was
the party guy connecting all of them to the AUC,
which became the you know, DNA of what Atlanta is today.
(09:19):
So now we're just taking it to the next level,
so hit records.
Speaker 6 (09:23):
Records, artists, marketing promotions. Then one day he was like, nah,
I want to be in front of the I want
to be I want to be on the radio.
Speaker 1 (09:32):
I want to do hosting.
Speaker 4 (09:34):
Angie.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
You inspired that too, right, Like, because I think speaking
truth to power is like a lost art form in
today's world, and like growing up with you and seeing
you and seeing our peers that actually are still here
speaking truth to power. That's why I want to do it,
because it's you know, a lot can be the truth today,
you know what I'm saying. People can make up whatever
they want before it becomes you know, before it comes
(09:57):
full circle back to the truth. And so for me,
you know, we're parents, we are you know, I'm, like
I said, convicted fella and changed my life and married
for twenty five years, got two hour standing young adults.
So it's like I can really speak to the bullshit
and I can speak to what you can do from
starting there. So and that's where I'm at and I
just want to continue that and rock with my brother
(10:17):
all over the world.
Speaker 3 (10:18):
But at some point in this journey of all the accolades.
Speaker 6 (10:21):
You, by the way, you're not talking about that you
are a producer or executive producer.
Speaker 4 (10:25):
I just want to na a CP for.
Speaker 3 (10:27):
Fight Night, for the Fight Night movie, which was amazing.
Speaker 4 (10:30):
Too, club thank you.
Speaker 5 (10:31):
You know I won mine too.
Speaker 2 (10:37):
Just big bro.
Speaker 7 (10:39):
No, No, that was a proud brother moment. Was because
it was well deserved because I remember when when when
when Kenny found the script, you know, and he called
me up like, yo, I'm about to do this movie
because it was initially supposed to be a movie.
Speaker 2 (10:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (10:54):
Universal of first there was a yeah, And so when
it finally came out, like to see the billboard on
Sunset Boulevard, he called me yeah. I was like, I
felt like so happy because this is the journey that
we've all been on, like the fact that you just
admitted like he's a convicted felon, you know what I mean,
like to figure out your life and then to become
like one.
Speaker 5 (11:14):
Of the top guys. It's just man, I commend you, Bro.
Speaker 4 (11:18):
I appreciate that.
Speaker 9 (11:21):
Something that's so cute so they wouldn't And then at
some point this collaboration of talents.
Speaker 6 (11:34):
Come together to create moments at parties. Yes, so you
on the mic, We've seen you at Essence Fest and
you know, what I mean.
Speaker 2 (11:41):
And then the announcement coming in any day now, by the.
Speaker 6 (11:43):
Way, regarding us as festival already, okay, is it is
it a club quarantine something else?
Speaker 2 (11:51):
Is that gonna It's gonna be stuff. But the main
stage any burns. Kenny, you and I last were together.
Speaker 1 (11:58):
That's right.
Speaker 6 (11:59):
I was doing the Women in Hip Hop fifty curations
around the stage.
Speaker 1 (12:04):
I did that. We hosted together, and we hosted something
with Clark.
Speaker 2 (12:07):
We hosted the main stage together.
Speaker 3 (12:09):
Yeah, what was that for, just a regular hosting.
Speaker 2 (12:12):
Yeah, it's Friday, Saturday Sunday. So it's a big announcement
about Friday Sunday Sunday.
Speaker 1 (12:16):
You're a big deal over there at the Sence Festival. Ladies,
the ladies like you, The crowd likes times.
Speaker 5 (12:21):
We have a good time.
Speaker 1 (12:21):
Great on that mic.
Speaker 2 (12:23):
Thank you tell them how we.
Speaker 3 (12:24):
And so that now this so now this comes together.
The two worlds come together.
Speaker 5 (12:28):
Yes, they came.
Speaker 7 (12:29):
The two words came together like two decades ago. But
it was more like we were doing parties in Atlanta.
They had Kenny and his partner, one of his partners,
Jay Carter, who runs one music fest. They had a
party called Soul Fusion and it was like my first
time like really coming to Atlanta to DJ and Kenny
(12:51):
was hosting.
Speaker 5 (12:52):
And then Keny was just on a mic.
Speaker 4 (12:53):
You know.
Speaker 7 (12:53):
I wasn't really a mic guy like that, Like you know,
it wasn't my thing. I just loved the focus on.
It was a b boxing That's what I was doing.
I couldn't beat box soon but but no, Kenny and
Kenny was joking. Then we started going from Atlanta to Detroit. Yeah,
Detroit was the fun party because not that Atlanta wasn't,
(13:14):
but Detroit was the personality party because we could actually
we can just be who we are, like be silly,
have fun. I mean we had this one rock and
roll party that we didn't Detroit.
Speaker 5 (13:25):
Rock music, all rock music.
Speaker 4 (13:27):
That's what.
Speaker 2 (13:30):
About the money I was doing.
Speaker 7 (13:32):
What his outfit he called himself Rick bon Jovi, So
he was like Rick James and bon Jovie. He had
members only jacket, a wig, the snake.
Speaker 2 (13:43):
Skin, boots, remembers only party photos. We need photos video?
Are you kidding me? I need that?
Speaker 4 (13:51):
Take my phone?
Speaker 1 (13:53):
So what are people going to see at the Apollo?
Speaker 6 (13:54):
So at the Apollo on March twenty second, it is
Club Quarantine Live.
Speaker 3 (13:59):
Yes, it's old out now, right, we.
Speaker 6 (14:00):
Can't even It's kind of that we're telling people about
it because they can't go, but.
Speaker 2 (14:04):
They got to hear about the next time and get
their tickets in advance.
Speaker 6 (14:07):
Okay, So you got a lot of people there, case
dressed from Black Sheep, who's actually a great golfer. Excellent,
that's him, Kenny Burns, Burns, Lisa Lisa the amazing Wow.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
Yo, hold on and you were in there though, around
applause for Angie, all up in the goddamn hospital with
the nurses all.
Speaker 4 (14:33):
Yeah, yeah, one night.
Speaker 7 (14:35):
That's I'm not going. I mean, obviously I'm from the Bronx.
So I grew up loving Lisa. Lisa's amazing. One night,
Kenny like we were both watching. It was the weekend
and it premiered. We were both watching and we knew
about this show. Kenny was like, he sent me a
text like, yo, he needs to get Lisa Lisa. So
(14:55):
I was like, I know, I'm watching this.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
I went to to d M her and she had
already sent me a message like I want to be
on one of your shows.
Speaker 5 (15:04):
And I was like, oh my god, this is crazy.
Speaker 1 (15:06):
Lisa, She's amazing.
Speaker 5 (15:08):
I cannot wait, I can't wait.
Speaker 2 (15:11):
Wonder very much, Take you home. Lie.
Speaker 6 (15:13):
You were the first person to text me when when
that show came when the movie came.
Speaker 1 (15:17):
Out, Yeah, you were like one of you were like, Yo,
did you know I was in it?
Speaker 2 (15:22):
Or you just I was looking at your face like you.
Speaker 4 (15:27):
Were just like.
Speaker 1 (15:28):
That's Angie's so funny.
Speaker 5 (15:31):
Yeah, we got we got a lot of people.
Speaker 6 (15:32):
She's a legend. Shout out to Lisa. Lisa, okayre rock.
Speaker 3 (15:36):
Cam the god.
Speaker 1 (15:39):
We just added oh nice.
Speaker 5 (15:41):
Yeah, yeah, somebody you know.
Speaker 7 (15:45):
The funny thing was somebody posted somebody posted a comment
and was like why Donnie Wahlberg, Like, how does that
even make sense?
Speaker 3 (15:52):
With oh that they're not a fan of Club Quarantine.
Speaker 4 (15:54):
They they don't know.
Speaker 7 (15:57):
So, like the way the whole show was curated was
really based on people who we vibe with. This is
the fifth anniversary of of of Club Quarantine and obviously
of COVID, so we kind of wanted to do something
where we we celebrated the people who actually supported us
no more. I mean, would you typically put Melbourne on
the show with Kenny Burns and d Nights, No, But
(16:19):
if you say Club Quarantine, it makes sense because Melbourneore
is literally I can go live right now, and she's
in there.
Speaker 5 (16:26):
She's in the comments.
Speaker 2 (16:27):
She's in the comments all day, and that is like
the beauty.
Speaker 1 (16:30):
Donnie Wahlburg was always in the comments.
Speaker 4 (16:33):
Donnie.
Speaker 2 (16:33):
Matter of fact, two years ago actually a couple of
days ago, and he was going crazy and he was
in the rafters.
Speaker 5 (16:42):
Hold up, Kenny Bryncet d Night stopped the music for
a minute. We're like, where are you? We found it
was all the way at the top. That's why we
love Donnie.
Speaker 3 (16:51):
That's amazing.
Speaker 6 (16:54):
Donnie Wahlburg, Hallie Berry in the comments. So heavy in
the comments was the trying to put y'all two together.
At the time, they were calling it very nice.
Speaker 5 (17:05):
Very nice, very very nice.
Speaker 2 (17:10):
That's my celebrity crush.
Speaker 7 (17:13):
Ally and I used to like we would text app
like outside of that, laughing like because there was nothing
going on. It was just all fun and it was
like but she would literally say what time are you
going live? I'm going to jump in there. I'm like,
all right, cool, whenever you want to.
Speaker 5 (17:27):
Go out, you know. But we had it was it
was the entertainment that people needed. It was so amazing.
It was just fun.
Speaker 6 (17:34):
Well done, guys. Fun all right, So then people could
get to see this here. But is it coming back?
Is it like a tour? What's happening the next show?
Speaker 5 (17:42):
Yeah, we're doing spot days.
Speaker 7 (17:43):
The next show we have for Club Quarantine will be
in Baltimore.
Speaker 3 (17:48):
Yeah, that's a drive away.
Speaker 7 (17:51):
May fourteenth, That's when we just announced that. And we're
doing that with the Governor and the First Lady of
Maryland the week of the Preakness.
Speaker 5 (18:01):
So I'm excited. I'm excited, you know what it is.
Speaker 7 (18:03):
And I'm excited that we, you know, Kenny and I
get to do these shows on stages that you wouldn't
typically see where, you know, like US hip hop. Come on,
we sold out Carnegie twice, we sold three times. You
know we just how many times you've been in the
White House too?
Speaker 5 (18:21):
Oh yeah, I played in the White House. You know
we're motherfucker.
Speaker 1 (18:26):
I mean Obama Administration.
Speaker 7 (18:28):
I played, I played Obama. I played, Yeah, Obama Administration,
White House. I played there for for President Biden. Matter
of fact, I did a Club Quarantine live DJ set.
Speaker 6 (18:39):
What is the most what is the what is the wildest,
most exclusive, most elevated event or party that you've ever done.
Speaker 1 (18:50):
The most elevated people or just the coolest experience.
Speaker 7 (18:55):
The coolest experience that I've ever had DJing outside of
like a Carnegie like just purely just based on DJ
and nothing, you know outside of COVID.
Speaker 5 (19:05):
C Q was one ultra music fest.
Speaker 4 (19:10):
You know.
Speaker 5 (19:10):
I had to deal with Hennessy in Miami. This was
the craziest thing.
Speaker 7 (19:14):
And they called me up and they wanted to do
this activation to launch Hennessy Black and they gave me
these options. They said, all right, here, here are the
two options. You know, we're taking over the Fountain Blue
Hotel and we're gonna put a zip line from one
side of the hotel to the other side, and your
DJ on the other side, and you'll be on the
zipline all the way to the other side. And I
was like, no, I'm not and they said, they said,
(19:39):
you actually google us because it's there. They said, all right,
here's the other option. We're gonna build this DJ booth
and then we'll attach it to a helicopter and we're
running RF feed, so you'll DJ live above the hotel,
like over the water. And I was like, yo, I'm
in wow. And I did that and that was by
(20:00):
far my favorite DJ experience ever because to see like
Samantha Rons because they have video of like sam and
everyone watching the screens watching me play and like to
see the joy of like kind of like experimenting and
doing something different like that was dope. Yeah, that was
super super so for all the people that only know
me after COVID.
Speaker 5 (20:20):
Yes, I've done some amazing things.
Speaker 6 (20:22):
Yes, yes, yes, And I'm sure you've done I know
you've done like Obama Birthday parties.
Speaker 7 (20:27):
And sixtieth the Obama is. I did the kids twenty first,
like both of them. Like, I played for a lot
of people, and but that's the that's it goes back
to what.
Speaker 1 (20:38):
Parties jay I opened.
Speaker 5 (20:39):
Up from Beyonce.
Speaker 7 (20:41):
I open up for Beyonce, but it was like small
shows that she was doing in New York. She had
four nights. Gosh, I think it was like at the Roxy,
not the Rocks.
Speaker 4 (20:50):
It was.
Speaker 6 (20:51):
Oh, I remember that, I do remember it.
Speaker 3 (20:56):
I was at one of those shows.
Speaker 2 (20:58):
Yep.
Speaker 7 (20:58):
It was four nights and Lownes was supposed to open,
so Longe did one night and didn't want to do
the rest, and then they called me and then I
opened for be those three nights the last three nights.
But I did you know the Gold Party? You know, yeah,
I did that last year.
Speaker 1 (21:13):
That's a good time.
Speaker 7 (21:14):
Yeah, No, I mean I love I just love them
to be able to play music for everyone, you know,
and that's that's just the joy of it. You know,
when you think about when we grew up. I'm big
bro to Kenny. So this is in his time.
Speaker 2 (21:27):
We were in high school at the same time. I
just was in the ninth grade.
Speaker 5 (21:30):
You were twelve, exactly. No, we're growing up, man.
Speaker 7 (21:33):
We we didn't have this kind of separation that where
you had to listen to one specific genre of music,
you know, growing up in the eighties, like they play
Haulling Notes in the same station they played you know,
Luther Van in rundium Ce and like you know Madonna,
and so I grew up loving that music.
Speaker 5 (21:52):
I loved. I would get bored if I have to
play one specific genre.
Speaker 4 (21:56):
Are you playing sexy rare? That's what New York wants
to know.
Speaker 5 (21:58):
I do play sexy? Did you play Uncle Luke?
Speaker 2 (22:02):
First of all, did you play did.
Speaker 1 (22:04):
You play Ocamelli? Put it in your mouth?
Speaker 2 (22:06):
Those were nuanced about by the way. Those were Nuancedsnikkeny Brown.
Percent of the music today is whole nasty, kill yourself drillin.
Speaker 1 (22:19):
You just said you was at Freaknik. What was happening there.
Speaker 2 (22:22):
Freaknick was college students that were getting the education that
has some liquor and the man got some sex.
Speaker 5 (22:28):
May have. So if you're talking about songs.
Speaker 2 (22:31):
Talking about you see it bussy open, we live, oh Ship,
you know what happens.
Speaker 5 (22:37):
They wait thirty years later and put it out on Hulu.
You've been going, I.
Speaker 4 (22:42):
Am in that documentary.
Speaker 5 (22:43):
But the point is, wait, are you really I am?
But the point is I, like Sexy Red, he's lying,
not lying.
Speaker 2 (22:52):
You know what the problem is.
Speaker 1 (22:54):
The problem is.
Speaker 2 (23:01):
Said I need to drink.
Speaker 4 (23:03):
That was.
Speaker 2 (23:05):
My problem is mad. One day at one of the parties,
I dropped Sexy Red place went crazy.
Speaker 5 (23:11):
I looked over him and he was looking at me
like you.
Speaker 2 (23:14):
Doing this right?
Speaker 4 (23:16):
No, listen.
Speaker 2 (23:17):
It's the fact that throughout hip hop's disgruntled, as we were,
as hood as trifling as raunchy.
Speaker 3 (23:27):
Sometimes all the fans.
Speaker 2 (23:29):
When you got something, you did something about it, meaning
if you were to have some success, you took it
to another level, at least appearance wise, and I'm not
saying that Wu Tang, for instance, didn't stay true to
their their core, but they all elevated on some level
and all had businesses.
Speaker 6 (23:46):
Shelcked, she she just got in the game five minutes.
Speaker 2 (23:50):
Nasty, you got gonneryal lipstick. Who's buying that? Somebody? To me? Nice?
Speaker 3 (23:55):
You got you got if somebody's buying it, No, because.
Speaker 5 (23:58):
Somebody stop, it wouldn't be.
Speaker 1 (24:00):
But it's like comedy slash sexy.
Speaker 7 (24:03):
It's like, I mean, can you even throughout music. You
have Millie Jackson who like from the seventies, by.
Speaker 1 (24:10):
The way, we came up put it in your mouth.
Speaker 5 (24:12):
And put it in your mouth, not it ain't if
the homies okay.
Speaker 2 (24:18):
But those would suggestive thing that didn't say push it,
pus it, dig in the ass.
Speaker 5 (24:26):
I just wanted something with big said.
Speaker 2 (24:30):
The girls came to his rule that about of storytelling.
It was like, oh, ship, I can imagine that's in
there this era. I'm doing it all. I'm trying to
be as nasty as possible. But the little girl who
doesn't know how to discern, who has any vision boards
maybe nas was like yes it was. Now it's like expected,
(24:53):
it's offered it's not even a thing of like conversation
no more. You're trying to fuck I'm nervous. I don't
know how to You know, I'm married one too. There's
no way you approached me like the nigga because I
know I'm like skin when i'm blue black on the inside.
I don't play none of that ship you're talking about right,
Like it's just a weird time and there's no guardrails.
They're getting paid to be ignorant and they're getting more money.
(25:15):
It's like we made them pay for what they did
to the Cold Crush. These motherfucker's are bitcoin rappers, like
it's some Ponzi scheme ship that it's to the destruction
of the world in my lot, I mean, come on,
y'all over it, shaking your head, except you halfway he's
gonna be.
Speaker 5 (25:28):
Do you like Sexy Red? All right? Cool? People up, borrow.
Speaker 2 (25:34):
Your bell, you give me to give me clues, air horns,
drop some bob whatever I need.
Speaker 6 (25:41):
You're going to be confronted with Sexy Red at some point,
No I haven't. It's probably gonna be like Essence festal
one of them places.
Speaker 2 (25:49):
Fine, and I can't wait to have a conversation. I
don't have no beef stove, so it ain't no problems.
But at the same time, I just think where we
are in society, Like I posted this thing the other
day and said, in the eighties, we traded black power
for black profit. And since nineteen ninety six, this is
my theory. Since nineteen ninety six, when we finally made
them pay and we got masters and we got a
(26:10):
peace right, we literally been choosing money over culture since that.
Speaker 1 (26:15):
I feel you on yeah, but it's.
Speaker 2 (26:17):
But everything I'm saying is a part of a byproduct
of adoring money and profit over people.
Speaker 4 (26:22):
That's why I don't.
Speaker 2 (26:23):
Interview celebrities no more. During the pandemic, my fifth blow
up was because I interviewed the world presidents of the
United States down to your favorite basketball player. But now
it's like it's not interesting no more because your fucking
cousin can't interview you. You go viral and then you know
what I'm saying, You got no real chops. You're not
really talking about nothing. You're just like adding to the clutter,
(26:44):
adding to the talking here.
Speaker 6 (26:45):
I know it's a whole other show, but it is
a whole other show of conversation for another time.
Speaker 3 (26:49):
But I feel it just saying, but when you single
her out, that's what.
Speaker 1 (26:51):
You're gonna get into.
Speaker 2 (26:52):
That's amuse. I'm not singling her out. I got an opinion.
I'm not listening. I want her to be right, and
if she gets right, I will flaw out and support.
Speaker 1 (27:03):
Why good job, Kenny.
Speaker 3 (27:05):
What are you going to be doing at the Apollo
when this is all happened?
Speaker 2 (27:07):
Everybody's man, you know, I'm the battery pack and everybody's back.
I'm in New York. No, it's okay, it's all right.
Speaker 1 (27:17):
You lived in these New York streets, don't like like
a foreigner.
Speaker 2 (27:19):
Once upon a time.
Speaker 1 (27:20):
Well, it's upon a time. Oh you did your little
life questionnaires.
Speaker 3 (27:23):
Let's see what you said in real life.
Speaker 7 (27:24):
Lord Jesus, in real life the protest. By the way,
why why, I don't know?
Speaker 5 (27:30):
He's like they know me.
Speaker 1 (27:31):
We put these in a little book.
Speaker 3 (27:33):
This is gonna be a nice little book. We're gonna
put all these in the thing.
Speaker 6 (27:36):
And by the way, your bucket list is to write
a book. What's on your bucket list? Dinner with Prince.
Speaker 2 (27:40):
That's not I I'm sorry, Yes, that's not gonna happen.
I did my fifty that is house.
Speaker 4 (27:47):
So that was like a bucket list thing.
Speaker 1 (27:49):
That's pretty great.
Speaker 2 (27:49):
But I want to do under the charity too.
Speaker 3 (27:51):
No, I wasn't invited. I wasn't invited.
Speaker 5 (27:54):
I was it.
Speaker 4 (27:54):
You want to do that now?
Speaker 2 (27:55):
Yeah, you didn't get my invitation. My vinyl with my
face on Princess here from the from Prince.
Speaker 3 (28:00):
No, but that sounds amazing. Yeah, I did not receive.
Speaker 5 (28:02):
Said no, he came out with a cape.
Speaker 1 (28:05):
Of course he did. Of course he did. What is
your superpower? D Knight says, feeding souls with music?
Speaker 5 (28:12):

Speaker 4 (28:13):
That's pretty thing for that ding that's a dingable.
Speaker 1 (28:15):
Moment, your superpowers. People. Celebrity crush miss Barry.
Speaker 2 (28:22):

Speaker 7 (28:48):
I did a Rihanna party at the I mean, I
do have these memories. It was at the Godfather House,
you know, the house where they shot the Godfather back.
Speaker 2 (28:55):
In the day.
Speaker 5 (28:56):
I did party there.
Speaker 3 (28:57):
Yeah, that must have been a good time, Arianna.
Speaker 6 (29:00):
Party sounds like a good time, Pet peeve, wet bathroom sinks, disgusting.
Speaker 5 (29:06):
You want to see what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (29:07):
I do. It's a strange thing. The first thing.
Speaker 5 (29:14):
It drives me crazy if a is O C D.
Speaker 2 (29:16):
Though, so I never never out of place.
Speaker 1 (29:19):
So wet what?
Speaker 9 (29:22):
Well?
Speaker 1 (29:22):

Speaker 2 (29:24):
Everybody calm down, everybody relaxed.

I did not say nothing I said, I said the lyrics.
I said that the game is secure to day, you
don't ever get back
