out there and play again. I personally feel that I
wouldn't have I wouldn't want Beg to come back and play,

you know, just because he left with two toring on
triceps last year. Wanted to win the Super Bowl. You know,
what else do you have to give? You know, as
a player. But I think everybody feels like, you know,
when I got one more shot in me, So I'm
gonna give it, give it a shot. You know. I'm
just hoping the best one. I hope that he has
a healthy comeback. You know that it's not something where

he comes back and then he's injured again. I want
to see him come back and be effective and be
able to give something instead of just kind of fading.

Well, Beg said this week that he actually never wanted
to retire. He just he was impressed upon that the
Eagles didn't have a spot for him. And I'm curious,
you know, going through camp. My first question for you,
Trey about that is does speak with some nuts?

Will you? Is that how all players feel when it's
their time to go?

I mean, man, I can still go, I can still go,
but it is the perfect time to retire and all
that stuff. I mean, once you're out of it and
you go, you show up for training camp and your
code still works at the building and it's like, man,
but I can't go in the locker room because I'm
not in a player now? Is that just some you know,
I don't want to say regreta man. Is that how
most players feel their first year out? I mean we're

only two months, you know, end of the season.

Absolutely. I'm pretty sure Kelsey when he retired, he felt like,
oh man, you know, once you get out of training camp,
once you get past training camp and the season gets going,
you start missing that camaraderie that you had within the
locker room. But I'm pretty sure just like everybody wants
to come back and get that one shot, one more again.
But you know, for me, I just felt like, you know, man,
you already retired. You've given and given this, You've given

the city a lot. You know, I'm just praying that
he has a healthy comeback.

Speaker 7 (06:34):
Yeah, I agree with you. To me, it takes away
from the storybook ending. Yeah, that was something that we
all loved. And you know, like my last interaction with
with UH with BG was well we had the he
was at our tailgate or our Pepper rally party on
the boat down there in New.

Orleans that Friday night and him walking off the boat
and he looks at me. He dashed me up and
I'm like, I'm like one more, one more, and he
looks at me. He's like, yeah, man, I got you,
I got you. Like and to me like to see
him go out with the two.

And him at the parade and watching him do his
speech with his kids and tearing up at his press
conference where he retired at like that was the story
book ending. And I legit hope that the phone call
came from Brandon and not from the front office, because
I would like to say that he's the guy that
reached out to us and not the other way around,
because we were in a desperate situation.

I mean they were in a desperate situation, especially with
Zadarius Smith retiring.

Does anybody know anything further about the reason Sadarius Smith retired.

Maybe he just felt it was it was time. He
didn't want to do the grind every day. Well, wasn't
wasn't the.

Land Camp the last interview he gave said something to
the effect of I've been in the league for twelve
years and i haven't won a super Bowl, and this
is the team I think that's gonna give me that real,
real shot.

And then three weeks later, hey see it. Yeah, he
was like, hey man, I'm out of here. You know,
it seems what he finished sweat. He got five games in,
so this made it an a credited season for him,
so timing.

But the other thing is with Tray with that is
maybe he felt, just like you said, if I had
that one more shot, and he did get that one
more shot, and he's like, ah.

Man, you know, this grind is not for me. I
love game days. I don't want to do practice.

Games more than Frank Frank Gordon gave, not even signed

run game you just got to keep plugging at it,
you know, you know, you had to. For me, I'm
the type of player that I feel like you have
to pass to be able to run.

And you know, I think they showed that shocking offensive lineman.

But I came in time. Yeah, I came in as
a pass protector. So that's what I always struggled and
run blocking me personally. So I love pass protection for me,
but I like just being able to pass to run
the ball. But I think that's just showing what Aj
and slim Way but to do last week. You know,
it's definitely gonna start and loosening up the box so

that you know you can get the run game going.

A lot of these pass plays that were successful, the
big plays last week, it seems that they were either
you know they they were they were on the fly
backyard football at halftime. I've always been the propoean org
this year, man, let's see some pass plays from under
center so we get the play action working. And that
Davante passed, you know, everyone's talking about that at halftime.

DeVante is like, Yo, that's open. Yeah, let's hit that.

Let's hit that. So they did.

The numbers do show that it was a great day
in the air. But if they're all out of structure
and you need your players to suggest this is what
we should look at here in the second half. Faith
in the offensive play, the play calling, the game structure.
It's not all the way back there. For me, they
had a great game. Happy to win on the road.

It's have to win their great defense. But what do
you think of that the players kind of making the
plays happen as opposed to it being part of the
game flow.

Well, you know what I'm okay with. Sometimes you know,
sometimes the player has a breakdown. You know, the defense
they're getting paid as well, and if they if they
have it shut off, then the players are staying active.
And that's one of the things that you want to see.
You don't want to see like the past. I can't
remember what game was when aj Brown stopped running and
you missed the big pass down the fever. So yeah,
so you know, as long as these guys are continue

to play, you see the breakdown and then they continue
to work to get open. That's what you want to
see when you're talking about these guys that's just trying
to give it everything they have. Sack.

Now, for me, the past defense, I mean, I don't
know if it's if it's coupled in with the fact.

That there's a lack of a pass rush, but the
coverage has not been good.

I mean, you're looking at Ben but don't break is
what this is what this defense does, and they were
able to hold them the field goals last week outside
of the one touchdown they got lucky with the Hockinson call.

But that that's what's bothering me, is the fact that
we're just letting, especially on the the opposite side of Quinnyon,
like like they are not doing anything that's preventing the
posing quarterback from moving to football down the field and
getting into points in the in the range to where
they're going to get points and added on to the board.

That is a big problem and a big issue.

I'm hopeful with Noel Smith coming back and Brandon Graham
joining the fray here that they're gonna be able to
get more of a pass rush, but that second cornerback
spot opposite Quinyon is.

Passing game? You know, I thought you saw Jalen Hurts
come out there and he controlled the game. I thought
he did a really good job of finding the receivers.
You got a J. Brown, you got Slim out there,
Dallas got it. I mean, he had the perfect game,
you know. I think that that's when when you can
put this Jalen Hurts shows you that he can do
whatever it is that he wants you to do. If

you want him to be able to pass it, manage
the game, and hand the ball off, he can do
whatever you need him to do.

I like that short and sweet Vic Fangiers simulated pressures
last week. We're not getting pressure in the traditional way.
You know, with a quarterback like Wenz, he could certainly
make things confusing for him.

The execution might not have been perfect, but I thought
that they they schemed up some defensive plays to get
those turnovers and that made the difference in the game.

They're they're five and two, but this has been some
of the most unsexy five and two football I think
I've been watching my whole entire life.

I think a lot of the wrong just happens defensively,
especially with the pass rush. Like I know, secondary maybe
an issue, but it doesn't really matter if you're not
getting any pass rush, so I think that's a big issue.
What I liked was just the shots downfield. I think
there's still a lot more to work on with the
passing game. But the biggest thing that they have, and
what Jalen Hurts is really good at, is deep down

the field passing and they haven't been able to connect
on it, and they did a lot, so I do
like that. I like that they were able to figure
that part of their game out. Again, still some things
to figure out on offense, but that's the that's the
one thing that they have been good at before and
they really needed.

I mean like that, I'll tell you what I did enjoy.
And this piggyback since a nice seguait for what we
got going on today.

Denver, and I know we're gonna have a little bit
of this later on in in uh Kaja. But what
happened last week with the Giants is one of the
most hysterical things that could possibly ever happen. NFL teams
had won one than six hundred and two straight games.
We're leaving by eighteen plus points in the final six minutes.
That was until the Giants, leading twenty six to eight

with six minutes left, lost thirty two, thirty three to
thirty two, which is great because they put in the
Ring of Honor. They put the Marius Thomas into their
Ring of Honor that day. Marius Thomas passed away a
couple of years ago. He was thirty three years old.

But there's these guys that are drafted as the quarterback

and after three or four years doesn't really like this guy,
doesn't it he like? They get let go and they
get picked up by the other teams, and by the
time they're twenty seven, twenty twenty nine, they're starting to produce.
How they were originally imagined to be. So, you know,
drafting a it's obviously the name of the game. But

these dudes, they get five six years of experience under
their belt and then they end up blossoming a little
bit later than what you expected. I just think it's
the fact. Look look at where they came from. Daniel
Jones with the Giants, good boys, Sam Darnold with the Jets,
high pressure situations, being Baker Mayfield, Cleveland.

Yeah, being drafted high, being put into a situation that.

Apply where you have to save the franchise, correct, and
like we saw it, like, it's not like here, Okay,

You know, those guys can move around. You know, that's
hard to deal with when you're when you're trying to
rush and be disciplined with your lanes. So it'll be
interesting to see what they're going to do to handle
